Sega Heroes

Opening up a new thread for Sega Heroes, a Mobile Phone game released a couple months back that's a crossover between a bunch of Sega IPs like Sonic the Hedgehog, House of the Dead, Golden Axe, Super Monkey Ball, Phantasy Star, Streets of Rage, and more!

The reason why I'm opening up a thread for this now is because Sega themselves opened up a survey asking fans what characters they want to see in the game. They do clarify that requesting a character doesn't guarantee they'll make it in, and you have to be over 13 to participate.

You can also vote for Sega's old advertising campaigns Segata Sanshiro and Sega Pirate TV, as well as their old mascots Professor Asobin and Dr. Games. I wish we weren't limited to only three picks, there's so many of these I want to vote for.

Wow, sudden nostalgia bomb. They letting you vote for Dynamite Headdy? Yeah? Cool. I'm voting for Dynamite Headdy.

Three votes isn't enough. I had to scrub a vote for Bayonetta because I figure she's a shoe-in anyways. Gave it to Mathilda instead.

It would be awesome if the Arcadia trio got in. I'm kind of surprised Puyo characters aren't already in on the Japanese side. Figure Arle, Dark Prince, and Ringo would be in already.

I voted for NiGHTS, Erica Fontaine, Rio and, under the section where you can submit a character not under the survey, General Winter from Company of Heroes 2.

If I could, I would've also voted for characters from IPs I think are sorely missing from that list like Resonance of Fate, Etrian Odyssey, Spiral Knights, Hero Bank, Kenseiden, Pole no Daibouken, Dinosaur King, Girl's Garden, and 7th Dragon. And I guess Battle Golfer Yui and Power Instinct.

Actually, I don't know which characters you can vote for in that survey. I'm not sure if I can take it again, and even if I could, I don't want to make another list (That last one took long enough). Could someone else please check the survey and make a thorough list of all the characters featured in it for me? I would assume that Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Rouge, Shadow, Cream and Cheese, Big the Cat, Ax Battler, Gilius Thunderhead, Tyris Flare, Death Adder, Joe Musashi, Ageha, Hotsuma, Hibana, Adam Hunter, Blaze Fielding, Axel Stone, Mr. X, AiAi, Baby, GonGon, MeeMee, Beat, Gum, Captain Onishima, DJ Professor K, Wren, Rolf, Lassic, Alis Landale, BD Joe, Gena, Gus, Axel, Dr. Curien, Agent G, Thomas Rogan, and Ebitan wouldn't be in the survey since they're already in the game (Not sure about Alicia Melchiott, though, as I think that the survey was announced before she was put into the game).

That selection of characters for Skies of Arcadia is weird. They've got the six protagonists, obviously, and the Big Bad and The Dragon, but the rest are just random crew members, some of whom you might not even meet unless you're going for 100% Completion. It's like they just looked at a wiki and picked out random names to pad out the list.

Gregorio and Belleza deserved to be on this list way more than Domingo or Merida, and I don't think anyone that's actually played this game would disagree with that.

Still, anything that reminds Sega that Skies of Arcadia exists is okay by me.

Well they do have a "Vote here for someone not on the list" entry. And If I knew Belleza was not there, I would have given that extra vote to her.

I've actually played the game now and it's quite a bit of fun. Never thought Blaze Fielding and Rouge the Bat would be able to fight alongside Gillius Thunderbeard but here we are.

I am having a ton of fun with this game but GOD DAMN does it go zero to sixty real fast. Never have I ever been swarmed with this many enemies with annoying abilities at once, and never have enemies ever used the tank/healer/damage trinity against me more effectively than I could.

But the convoy between Ageha and Aiai melted my heart so I ain't stopping any time soon.

I've been meaning to bring this up for a while but, apparently you can retake the survey as many times as you want. I thought that that seemed like cheating at first, but now I think it's because the developers are updating the survey with more IPs and characters.

I've been wondering if I should ask them to include some on the survey via the Official Twitter account?

I created a guild called "Bayo or Bust" if anyone wants to help me climb the event ladders. One guess as to which character I'm waiting for.

Question: Can this be played offline at all or is it useless when not connected to the internet?

It needs an internet connection to get started but after that it's pretty generous about letting you do stuff. Just avoid the event page and the arena.

I have an idea as to how Dinosaur King characters could be implemented into this game; The Yellow, Blue, Green, and Red units could be Chomp, Ace, Paras, and Terry respectively. However, for the sake of making them more visually interesting than just colorful photo-realistic dinosaurs, they would all have their DinoTector Armor on. What do you guys think?

Was wondering who the fourth VC rep would be.

So, now that they're done with Valkyria Chronicles, which series do you guys think the game'll do next? Personally, I'm hoping for either Resonance of Fate, NiGHTS into Dreams…, and/or Samba de Amigo the most.

There's one series I'm really looking forward to.

Jean and Rodin will probably be reps, but I wonder who the fourth would be. Loki? Luka? Baldr?

After doing VC I doubt Resonance of Fate will be next (Completely ready to eat my words on that of course) but Nights could definitely be a contender.

I could see Bayonetta, Jeanne, and Rodin being Blue, Red, and Green units respectively, while the Yellow unit could probably be one of the Angels. I mean, Shin Megami Tensei Liberation: Dx2 featured Beloved as a summonable demon along with the former two for the Bayonetta Event, and Ebitan of all characters is playable in Sega Heroes.

Yeah they do tend to do "Hero, hero, hero, Villain" in the quartet more often then not. Plenty of angels could take the honor.

I fully expect Grace and Glory to be the midboss tier enemies akin to the Bad Brothers/Big Bens.
