Favorite tropes:
- Punching tropes!
- Don't Fear The Reaper: I really like affable personifications of death, for some reason. It's all the Pratchett/Gaiman, I'm sure.
- Skull for a Head: ... plus, skullheads are cool.
- Heterosexual Life-Partners/Platonic Life-Partners: I think that writing an actual, good, friendship is hard, and it annoys me when writers (and especially fans) think "they're friends? THEN THEY MUST DATE"
Some of my favorite works:
- The Gundam franchise, mostly the UC, FC, and with some lingering nostalgia for the AC timelines.
- Deadpool and the subsequent movie: Been reading Deadpool since he first had his own solo and I'm ecstatic that he's getting so much publicity now.
- Parks and Recreation
- Yakuza series
- Shin Megami Tensei series
- The Persona series
- The Raidou Kuzunoha games.
- Transformers: More the toys than the fiction, though.
- Pretty much any and all martial arts movies but some standouts:
- Tom-Yum-Goong: WHERE ARE MY ELEPHANTS.
- Fist of Legend: Nothing witty, just excellent.
- Most of the works of Neil Gaiman, but I suppose I'll give American Gods a particular Shout-Out.
