Gallerian Marlon
- "Now, it's time for the trial"
The Villain Protagonist for the "Greed" arc of the series, a young judge who lost his wife and daughter in accident, but believes his daughter is the Clockworker's Doll. Striving to collect the Sins so he could help his daughter, he makes a Demonic Contract and ends up accepting bribes and struggling over the other Sin Vessels with many oppositions. Serves as the "frontman" for PN, grounding it as a legitimate police force and hiding its darker purpose of espionage.

- Absurdly Youthful Father: He looks really young for a man who formerly had a teenage daughter.
- In "The Muzzle of Nemesis", it's revealed that he had two daughters, with 19 year old Nemesis being the younger one, and Michelle was confirmed in the novel to have been born when Gallerian was 18, making him a teenage dad.
- Anti-Villain: His monstrous deeds were intended to help his "crippled daughter," so he's not entirely unsympathetic. It helps that through a significant portion of the novel he's trying to take down individuals far more monstrous than he'll ever be.
- Arch Nemesis Dad: To Nemesis, ironically enough.
- Awful Wedded Life: His marriage with Mira is pretty dysfunctional, with the two arguing often and eventually not speaking to each other at all by the time they're in their 30s.
- Baby-Doll Baby: Convinced that a tiny clockwork doll is his daughter Michelle, or rather, that it has her soul inside it.
- Badass in a Nice Suit: Badass over his unflinching conviction to his goals and ability to keep his cool in any situation, while underneath his judge's robe is a nice suit befitting his time period.
- Bad Santa: Referred to as "Pere Noel, First Santa Claus" in "The Muzzle of Nemesis." He is, of course, the villain.
- Became Their Own Antithesis: Gallerian starts out his story as a poor, underdog champion of justice seeking to reform the corrupt court system of the USE. By the time of his death he's a wealthy and powerful corrupt judge who eagerly accepts any manner of bribes to achieve his selfish desires.
- Byronic Hero: Intelligent, passionate, philosophical and attractive, he has deliberately chosen to corrupt the very concept of justice to achieve his goals and save his daughter. That said, he's slightly more cheerful about it than most, and doesn't question or criticize the path he's taken.
- Cain and Abel: With his sister-daughter, Nemesis Sudou, Nemesis being the one who kills him.
- Chekhov's Gunman: Made his first appearance in "Heartbeat Clocktower," accompanied by the word "Avaritia".
- Collector of the Strange: Of the Sin Vessels, by Ma's order.
- Curtains Match the Windows: Blue hair and blue eyes, giving him that resemblance to Kyle and the other Marlons.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: His devotion to his daughter Michelle is genuine.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Subverted; in the "Judgment of Corruption Side Story" manga he tells Scherzer he should be more respectful of women, but his later comments imply he was more worried about his reputation being ruined for exonerating the guy. Similarly, while at first he's shown trying him guilty in disgust at his sadism, he later explains to Scherzer himself that he just did it because it paid better.
- Greed: The novel elaborates on how, growing up poor because of his father's gambling, Gallerian began to associate money with success and became increasingly stingier and pragmatic. He doesn't actually contract with a demon of greed, just with Adam, but he has so much greed that he's considered a contractor anyway.
- Hanging Judge: Sentences people to death when they don't give him money.
- Jerkass: Aside from his general villain qualities of taking bribes and perverting the justice system. He cheated on his wife while they were still married, and in Seven Crimes and Punishments he sentences Kayo to beheading solely to make her relive the experience and when it upsets Allen, he threatens to behead him instead, mocking him when it causes the boy to have a breakdown. This was more downplayed in his actual novel, where he acts a lot more like a stand-up guy before he starts taking bribes.
- Karmic Death: After years of letting monstrous people escape execution based on a corrupt parody of judgement, he meets his end by receiving judgement from and being executed by someone else.
- Knight Templar Parent: Is willing to send the world to Hell for his daughter. The novel discusses how his doting on Michelle so hard might be a result of being unable to pour his zealous spirit into his work because he'd reached the top so fast in his career.
- Like Parent, Like Spouse: While not his wife, he has an affair with Ma, who, as Gallerian himself notes, is identical to his mother. Though as it turns out, she's not merely identical.
- Luke, You Are My Father: He turns out to be Nemesis' father.
- Missing Mom: His mother, Elluka, was put on a witch trial and sentenced to death when he was just a baby. Even if she didn't die, she still wasn't present for his entire childhood.
- My Own Grampa: In an unconventional way, his mother is Ma, an amalgamation of three women's souls, and he had an affair with her and conceived Nemesis, who is herself a reincarnation of one of Ma's souls.
- Older Than He Looks: This trope was in play when he was in law school—though mind you, as a 14 year old college student he was still pretty young to start with.
- Parental Incest: His affair with Ma. Not that he knew she was his mother, assuming she was merely a devotee who made herself look like her.
- Punny Name: His name is clearly a pun on "gallery"—a place in a courtroom where visitors watch the proceedings.
- Red Baron: He's also called First Santa Claus, or Mr. Père Noël, in homage to Julia.
- Refusing Paradise: Intentionally gets himself cast into Hell so he can revive his daughter, when he could easily have bribed his way into Heaven. ...From his point of view at least.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: His MO: committed a crime recently? Gallerian will pardon you or even declare you innocent, so long as you can pay him. Unless someone pays him even more to have you convicted The first time he did this was actually in service of justice, though, as he bribes a judge to get his well-connected would-be murderer convicted.
- Slasher Smile: All over the place in both his song and manga side story.
- Teen Genius: Gallerian was such a good student he was first made a judge at age sixteen.
- Through the Eyes of Madness: Subverted; the songs imply that he sees the doll as the real "Michelle" while everyone else only sees a doll. But the climax of his novel shows that this is less his perception and more an illusion the doll can actually achieve. It's also revealed he knew all along that it was just a doll, Ma only lied to him about who was inside it.
- Unholy Matrimony: While he was married he had an affair with Ma, of all people. Though granted, he was a fair bit less corrupt at that point in his life.
- Used to Be a Sweet Kid: The audience gets to see him slowly turn from aiding justice to warping it over the course of his novel, starting when he's a young teen. It's played with, however. After seeing how he turns out, the narrator speculates that Gallerian was always willing to do anything to get what he wanted, it's just that in his youth what he wanted aligned with what was just.
- You Don't Look Like You: Gallerian Marlon's original "Judgement of Corruption" design looked the least like his original VOCALOID counterpart KAITO, unlike future designs of him that would come to resemble KAITO with a haircut.
Bruno Zero/Sigurd Zero
The chief aide to Gallerian Marlon and secretly the overseer for the PN Espionage Task Force. He originally started out as a slave born in Maistia and bought by the Freezis Foundation, before being freed into the position of Loki Freezis' butler. After a little while though he ended up working for Gallerian.
- Best Served Cold: After many years of biding his time and feigning loyalty, gets his long-awaited revenge on Loki for killing Bruno's entire family when Bruno was 12.
- Born into Slavery: As a Maistian native during the USE period in Evillious history. He notes that it wasn't a happy life, but it wasn't hellish until the Freezises bought his people and started treating them like livestock.
- Clueless Chick-Magnet: Attracts the attention of both Michelle Marlon and Shiro Netsuma. It got to the point where some fans started speculating if he was gay, only for mothy to confirm he was just bad at noticing.
- The Dragon: For Gallerian, as his chief aide.
- Dragon with an Agenda: Has a history of this, more focused on his own ends than whoever it is he happens to work for. Especially in Loki's case. Later on Gallerian at least suspects that he's got something up his sleeve for him, but as revealed in The Muzzle of Nemesis even his hidden agenda is for Gallerian's benefit.
- My Hero, Zero: Last name being Zero; this appears to be a reference to the numbering of members in PN.
- My Master, Right or Wrong: Admits that, despite knowing how Gallerian has fallen from grace, he's the kind of man who would stay with him until the end, even comparing himself to "The Servant of Evil" in that regard.
- Not So Stoic: Known to show displays of emotion in rare occasions, such as crying when he realizes that Gallerian is under the delusional belief that the Clockworker's Doll is his daughter.
- Oblivious to Love: Never caught on to Shiro's feelings towards him.
- Real Name as an Alias: Despite using Bruno as an alias he never bothered to change his last name. Eventually mothy confirmed in a livestream that his real name is Sigurd.
- The Stoic: Is very reserved when it comes to his emotions, and doesn't seem to respond to much—for example he barely reacts to Loki kicking him when he's his butler.
- Undying Loyalty: To Gallerian.
Hel Jaakko
No. 2 in PN, Hel was a clerk for the USE Dark Star Bureau while also doing the domestic work for the espionage force PN. Her father, Heaven Jakko, was a historian whose research was indirectly responsible for the Witch Hunts carried out in Gallerian's lifetime.
- Meaningful Name: Her name, although not spelled exactly like it in Japanese, either references the "Hel" of Norse mythology or, along with her father "Heaven," references the underworld "Hell".
- Platonic Life-Partners: With Feng, essentially. She's not a Love Interest, as he meets and falls in love with someone else off-screen, but they're always together in PN and in the afterlife when the world gets blown up.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Along with Feng, decided to up and quit PN when it became clear Gallerian was twisting justice for his own personal ends.
Feng Li
The commander of officers in PN, codenamed No. 3. Through some bizarre circumstance, he's a human who was born in the shape of a golden tiger, although he does not appreciate people thinking he acts like one.
- Hypocritical Humor: He'll get annoyed at people who assume he acts like a tiger (such as thinking he'd like to live in a zoo) but he threatens things like tearing someone's throat out if they turn out to be a threat.
- Meaningful Name: Word of God is that his full name is a pun on "Fenrir", a giant wolf in Norse mythology.
- Platonic Life-Partners: With Hel, essentially. She's not a Love Interest, as he meets and falls in love with someone else off-screen, but they're always together in PN and in the afterlife when the world gets blown up.
- Pretty Boy: Well... not as a tiger, but after he dies and ends up in the afterlife, Feng's allowed to finally look like his ideal self—a beautiful human man (even described as such in-universe).
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Along with Hel, decided to up and quit PN when it became clear Gallerian was twisting justice for his own personal ends.
Shiro Netsuma
- Um...Uh...Sorry...
A Netsuma sniper who fled idolization by the Sisters of Clarith, she helps join in Gallerian's efforts to take down the Freezis Conglomerate and is a member of PN, the sniper codenamed No.1. Ends up later being the one to teach Nemesis how to shoot.
Represented by: Yowane Haku
- All Love Is Unrequited: Was in love with Bruno, but too shy to tell him so. Tragically his name is the last thing she says before she dies.
- Apologizes a Lot: Similar to another famous Netsuma in the series, her catchphrase involves apologizing (and being unable to say literally anything else if she's worked up enough).
- Cold Sniper: Played With. In person she's timid and apologetic about everything, often too shy to speak. With a gun in her hand she's an efficient and deadly sniper who shows no mercy.
- Identical Stranger: Has no known blood relation (and doesn't appear to be an actual reincarnation) but is identical to Clarith. She was worshiped as a reincarnation when she was younger. This is a sore spot.
- Improbable Aiming Skills: Has such good aim with her sniper rifle that she's capable of shooting someone in a spot where it would knock them out cold and slow their heart rate enough to appear dead without actually killing them.
- Intergenerational Friendship: Offscreen, forms one with Nemesis after the latter joins PN, to where Nemesis' grief over her death fuels her anger at Gallerian for letting her murderer go free.
- Shrinking Violet: Sniper-skills aside, she's painfully shy. Even around friends, sometimes.
Postman/Lillith Baldured
- See: Waiter
Codenamed No.4, Postman is a mysterious member of PN with an affiliation to Ma. They handle all deliveries of the organization, whether it's objects, letters, or people. For some reason they never speak, never demonstrate a will of their own, and don't even appear to age, only following others' orders.
Represented by: Kagamine Rin
- Ambiguous Gender: Referred to with gender neutral pronouns; since they don't speak and are heavily disguised, it's not known what their gender is. Turns out she's a girl.
- Big Damn Heroes: Saves Nemesis from Ma when the latter was strangling the former. As Waiter, she also rescues Gammon from the Master of the Graveyard.
- Empty Shell: Originally Lilith Baldured, she was seemingly turned into an empty shell when Ma tried to shunt Levia off into her. Ultimately subverted, though; it's not that her body is empty, it was just broken, making her soul unable to properly influence it. Getting a new body allows her real personality to shine through once more.
- Heel–Face Turn: After getting a new body, her soul is able to interact with the world again and she's definitely no longer on Ma's side.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Everyone in PN only knows them as "Postman," which is basically their job description. Postman's real name is Lilith Baldured, as she's the daughter of Hanma Baldured.
- Reincarnation: Lilith Baldured, Postman's true identity, is a reincarnation of Riliane.
- The Voiceless: Never speaks at all, and only sometimes will communicate nonverbally. This is fixed after she gets a new, properly functioning body.
Lich Arklow
Codenamed No.6, Lich is a "death god" who works for the Demon of Gluttony alongside Eater Sabella, being a former forest spirit that was banished by Held. After Gallerian shuts down the Graveyard Restaurant that he was managing and steals the Glass of Conchita, Lich leads Eater and a horde of undead to come take it back. In the end, the demon of Gluttony partners with Gallerian and Lich is made to work for PN, doing some of its more unsavory work.
- A Day in the Limelight: The short stories "Song of the Black Bird" and "Outlaw and Lychgate" focus largely on him.
- Affably Evil: Carries himself with a polite and elegant demeanor, despite being unapologetically evil.
- Animal Motifs: His spirit form was a black Rollam bird, which resembles a crow. Crows are frequent carrion eaters, fitting with Lich's death motif. For bonus points, his surname contains the Japanese characters for "crow". "grEAT Journey" describes him as a "black bird".
- Artificial Human: Specializes in creating these, in the form of mud golems. He provided King Arth and all of the residents of Evils Theater besides Ma and Gammon with bodies of this nature. At one time, he had desired to create his own race of humans mainly just to spite Behemo, though he discarded this ambition after joining Banica.
- Bad Boss: As manager of the Graveyard Restaurant. He wasn't particularly adamant about releasing their waiter from prison after getting on Gallerian's side—and this is after he and Eater abandoned her to take the rap in the first place.
- Big Brother Bully: To Michaela.
- Big Guy, Little Guy: The little to Eater's big.
- Cain and Abel: With his former little brother now little sister, Michaela. Lich tries to kill the former on two separate occasions, although granted dying likely means something different to him as a former spirit.
- Childhood Friends: With Eater. Part of his motivation for seeking out the Demon of Gluttony was with the hope that "he" could help Eater recover his memories of their childhood in the Second Period, not realizing that the demon had gotten replaced by Banica.
- Creepy Crows: His Rollam bird form looks like a crow and he's evil.
- Cruel to Be Kind: He claims he was just trying to teach Michaela a "lesson" about the outside world by attacking them as a Rollam bird.
- The Ditherer: An issue of his before Seth made him into a HER, having been timid and unable to make difficult dicisions due to fearing the unknown. He ends up reverting back to this in the afterlife.
- Early-Bird Cameo: Literally. He's the Rollam bird that attacked Michaela in Wiegenlied, but he only got a name and an expanded role many years later.
- Feathered Fiend: His spirit form was a Rollam bird and he was just as nasty then as he is now. Just ask Michaela...
- Meaningful Name: His name is Lich; liches are a type of undead creature in fantasy lore. His surname, when written in Japanese, contains the characters for "crow", which is likely a nod to his spirit form as a black Rollam bird (which resembles a crow).
- Perpetual Smiler: He's almost always depicted with a terrifyingly wide smile. Averted in Outlaw and Lychgate, where one of the illustrations show him looking displeased.
- Pet the Dog: Has a few, including assisting all the other souls of the Third Period in freeing the sin contractors from Ma's soul fusion. Plus, he genuinely cares about his best friend and his master.
- Slasher Smile: His default expression, and it's terrifying.
- Undeathly Pallor: A variant while he's a "Death god". Because he's similar in nature to Banica's undead soldiers, Lich's skin is utterly white, regardless of how it might have looked when he was a human in the Second Period.
- Undying Loyalty: To Banica; he outright admits in the Heavenly novel that all he wants to do anymore is continue serving her.
- Winged Humanoid: The new form he has in "grEAT Journey" is stated to have wings on his back, fitting with his bird motif.
Eater Sabella
Codenamed No.7, Eater is a "death god" who works for the Demon of Gluttony alongside Lich Arklow, being a former forest spirit that followed Lich out when he was banished by Held. After Gallerian shuts down the Graveyard Restaurant that he was working as a chef at and steals the Glass of Conchita, Eater accompanies Lich and a horde of undead to come take it back. - Big Guy, Little Guy: He's the absolute giant to Lich's slender shorter stature; even as a forest spirit, his animal form was as a bear, and he can turn even larger as Worldeater, while Lich just uses a Rollam bird form.
- The Brute: He's a hulking, quiet entity who acts as the muscle for a group of villains.
- Childhood Friends: With Lich, although he doesn't remember their childhood together, as it took place in the Second Period and Eater's memories of that time were suppressed.
- Gentle Giant: This is only evident to people who know him well, but Eater is apparently gentle and timid ordinarily. Not that he acted like it when trying to protect his master.
- Meaningful Name: His name is Eater, and he works for the Demon of Gluttony. He also can transform into a giant flying skeleton, Worldeater.
- Supreme Chef: Acts as Banica's new chef for a long time and was quite good at it too, though she eventually tires of his lack of creativity.
- Undeathly Pallor: A variant while he's a "Death god". Because he's similar in nature to Banica's undead soldiers, Eater's skin is utterly white, regardless of how it might have looked when he was a human in the Second Period.
- Undying Loyalty: To Lich, and Banica as well when they join her.
Other
Loki Freezis
- "As long as there's game, you can 'hunt' anywhere."
Gallerian's childhood friend, Mira's boyfriend when the three were younger, and a member of the Freezis family, he initially also seeks to be the top judge in the Dark Star courthouse. Ultimately he ends up losing both his coveted position and his girlfriend to Gallerian.
- Bad Boss: Abusive and degrading towards his employees (Bruno in particular), notably in sharp contrast with his warm behavior towards Gallerian. This is a hint as to his true nature.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Acts very friendly and kind with Gallerian during their time in college but is horrible to his employees and blows up at his girlfriend over minor things. That's not even going into how he was only pretending to be friends with Gallerian and takes him out into a snowy field to kill him when he decides he's being too much of a pest.
- Childhood Friends: With Gallerian.
- Crazy Jealous Guy: Towards Mira while they were dating, getting into jealous rages just because she speaks to Gallerian, and stifling her in the relationship.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Tries to kill Gallerian, his alleged friend, for being better than him in their workplace.
- Killed Mid-Sentence: Shot by Shiro while swearing an oath of vengeance for his imprisonment.
- Lack of Empathy: As a HER. He views anyone outside of the Freezis family and his girlfriend as inhuman, and regularly hunted slaves for sport.
- Meaningful Name: Loki is the name of the Norse god of mischief, known particularly for deceit. Sure enough, his entire friendship with Gallerian had been a lie.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Or at least that's what he thought was going to happen, but his family cut ties with him to protect their reputation, leaving him to his 30 year sentence.
Michelle Marlon
Gallerian's daughter, who is killed in a freak incident where an enlarged ziz tiama attacks her and her mother's ship.
Represented by: Hatsune Miku
- Cain and Abel: With Nemesis, though indirectly. It's revealed in Muzzle of Nemesis that she sank the ship that Michelle was on, though she didn't even know who Michelle was at the time, or that she was even on board.
- Cynicism Catalyst: Her death was this to Gallerian. Before, he was a happy man who, while stingy, didn't want anything more than he already had. After she drowns, Gallerian begins looking for the vessels.
- Deal with the Devil: In the afterlife, she forges one with Eve so she can assist Gallerian in his goals. She becomes the most compatible Sloth contractor in the process, though this also leads to her suffering from a severe identity crisis every time she uses Eve's powers.
- Elegant Gothic Lolita: The dress she was wearing when she drowned, befitting her as a wealthy judge's daughter.
- Face–Heel Turn: Played with. In the afterlife, she willingly joins her father in his goals and shows no hesitation in doing whatever she has to if she can help him. This includes forging a contract with Eve, becoming the new Sloth contractor and poisoning the spirits (though granted, this time the poison doesn't kill them seeing as they're already dead) to help Gallerian get what he wants. However, all of this discounts the fact that Gallerian is trying to save the world too, albeit in a very different way from the protagonists.
- Hidden Depths: Despite being upbeat and often quite motivated, she was apparently the most compatible contractor for the sin of Sloth.
- Morality Pet: Gallerian genuinely loves her and tries to hide his less than stellar behavior from her whenever possible. This carries on to doll he thinks is her.
- Replacement Goldfish: In the Master of the Heavenly Yard novel and song, she replaces Margarita as the most compatible Sloth contractor, due to a contract she has with Eve and the fact that she is her own person separate from Eve (while Margarita was not.) Her contract even causes her to act like Eve whenever she uses Eve's powers.
- Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Was raised to be pure and innocent despite the Crapsack World around her that is Evillious, and later dies.
Mira Marlon
At the beginning of the story known as Mira Yarera, part of the prominent Yarera Zusco Conglomerate. She is a friend of Gallerian and Loki's girlfriend, but she would end up marrying the former and having a daughter with him.
- Awful Wedded Life: Her marriage with Gallerian turned sour after some time, they try to keep appearances because of his job and their child. She does take issue with Gallerian's affair, though this seems less out of jealousy for his affection and more her own dignity, being his wife.
- Sympathetic Adulterer: Her affair with Gallerian is portrayed as justified when it turns out her boyfriend at the time was an abusive, racist mass murderer.
Hanma Baldured/Nikolay Tolle
- "Money is the best lawyer in hell."
The original head of the Dark Star Courthouse, a former friend of Gallerian's father Gandalf and the one who sentenced Elluka to death in her witch trial. His allegiances are uncertain, but one thing is clear—his judgment is decided by money.
- Ambiguously Evil: He's the one who sentenced Elluka to death in the trial, and takes bribes to decide his judgments. Yet he's also very accepting of Gallerian's reforms to turn the justice system for the better, and in the past apparently tried to clean up the court as well. Add onto this that he actually saved Elluka and he seems more noble—but then he's also Ma's apprentice. He's almost as complicated morally as she is.
- An Ice Person: His power—he ends up using it to freeze the entire courtroom when escaping from the authorities.
- Hanging Judge: In witch trials, anyway. In 14 years of his presiding over these cases not a single one of them was found innocent. He also takes bribes.
- Parental Substitute: To Nemesis. He took care of her after Ma abandoned her in the forest, even though he was meant to kill her as soon as he had the chance.
- Replacement Goldfish: Ma speculates he treated Nemesis like a daughter because he missed his real daughter, who had become Postman, a member of P.N. and a mindless servant to Ma.
- Took a Level in Kindness: By the time of Muzzle of Nemesis, having aged into a kindly father figure for Nemesis who seems to regret his association with Ma.
Gusuma/Great Super Marvelous Yarera
Mira's older brother, and the co (later only) head of the Yarera Zusco Conglomerate. He first crosses paths with Gallerian in order to aid him with bribing Hanma for a trial, and later becomes instrumental in the construction of PN. A dubious ally who never does his own dirty work but is certainly not averse to having it carried out for him.
- Large and in Charge: Is described as being ridiculously big. He even has to have a huge chair to sit in for his office.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Pulls this several times, most notably in bribing Hanma for Gallerian's sake as well as orchestrating to have Jorm's execution held off (though not having him released, thank god).
Scherzer
- "I was saved thanks to you"
A criminal from the "Judgment of Corruption Side Story" manga, a wealthy socialite who pays Gallerian to exonerate him after assaulting a woman. Despite being warned off women for the future, he can't help himself and continues to cause trouble.
- Asshole Victim: A sadist and serial kidnapper, among other things. Gallerian pronouncing him guilty is a very satisfying moment.
- Bound and Gagged: As a result of Gallerian convicting him and him flipping out in court, he's gagged and put in a straitjacket.
- Hate Sink: He has no redeeming traits at all (he even looks pretty sleazy) and is guilty of heinous crimes towards women for utterly selfish reasons. You won't feel any pity for him when Gallerian reveals he's going to be executed the next day.
- The Hedonist: Apparently even trying to imitate the in-universe hedonist, Sateriasis Venomania.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: This is his attitude throughout the manga. Ironically, his money is what gets him convicted the second time.
- Sex Slave: It's implied this is what he does to the women he kidnaps, selling them to become this.
- Smug Snake: Completely confident that his vast wealth assures his exoneration. Normally he would be right, but Gallerian can make more than one deal under the table.
- Sadist: Especially towards women, stating he actually lives for seeing the moment when they lose hope; it's his character in a nutshell.
- Villainous Breakdown: Understandably flips out when Gallerian tells him that he'll be executed the day after his conviction.
Bogaerts
- "Scherzer...is a vulgar sadist!"
Scherzer's financial manager, appearing in the "Judgment of Corruption Side Story" manga. Following Scherzer's acquittal, he meets with Gallerian over some new evidence of his crimes.
- The Dog Bites Back: After Scherzer kidnaps his niece, he ends up paying Gallerian to convict him with the guy's own fortune.
- It's Personal: His reasons for hating Scherzer are revealed to be because the guy kidnapped his niece, rather than for the horribleness of kidnapping multiple women in the first place.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: The trope is mostly inverted in that he uses Scherzer's fortune to make Gallerian try him fairly (and naturally find him guilty.) But it’s also played straight where he's implied to have had Scherzer's date of execution bumped up.

Nemesis Sudou
- "Sinful man, come, repent."
The Villain Protagonist of the "Wrath" arc. Raised by her mother in relative isolation, she later became a ruthless assassin for her master, First Santa Claus/Mr. Père Noël. She becomes wracked with grief after killing her lover by said master's orders. Failing to commit suicide, she instead decides to seek out her revenge.

- A Nazi by Any Other Name: Eventually as the dictator of Elphegort, instigating conflict across the continent. Forming the equivalent of the Axis Alliance with Jakoku and Beelzenia, she creates a superweapon, "Punishment", to destroy Evillious and its "sinful inhabitants. Her title in Japanese can even be translated as "Führer".
- Apologetic Attacker: The last thing she says to Nyoze before killing him is "I'm sorry".
- Braids of Action: Wears a single braid in her hair, and becomes an accomplished gunslinger at an early age.
- Break the Cutie: She was a cute and cheerful girl as a child, but several traumatic events in her childhood (namely being abandoned by her mother and "betrayed" by her father figure and handed over to the police) end up making her cold. And her life only gets worse from there.
- Book Dumb: She has no formal education to speak of, and mentions that she dislikes studying. That doesn't mean she's not clever, being able to figure out who "Master" is and knowing how to keep a low profile when needed.
- Cain and Abel: Suggested but ultimately subverted with Michelle. She had a hand in murdering her via her pet Ziz-san, but she wasn't even the target of the attack and Nemesis didn't even know they were related until much later.
- Played straight with Gallerian, who is revealed to be her father and half-brother.
- Chekhov's Gunman: A literal example, as she's an actual gunman; turns out "The Last Revolver", which for the longest time was in a sort of Loose Canon Limbo, really was about the Wrath character. In other words, she was staring everyone in the face for over four years and nobody knew it.
- Cradling Your Kill: "The Muzzle of Nemesis" reveals that she did this before her suicide attempt. She was sobbing profusely while doing so.
- Curtains Match the Windows: Hers are both a deep green.
- Dark Action Girl: She's not an assassin for nothing.
- Dissonant Serenity: Had a sweet, cheery smile on her face as she watches her pet Ziz-tiama destroy the Titanis.
- The Dog Bites Back: After being manipulated into killing the man she loves, she lashes out and goes after PN, the organization she once served.
- Domino Mask: Begins wearing one after the events of "The Last Revolver".
- Driven to Suicide: Tried to kill herself after shooting Nyoze, but was unable to succeed. As it turns out, she had already been contracted to the Demon of Wrath without her knowledge.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: Braids her hair on one side as she begins her Roaring Rampage of Revenge.
- Foil: To Gallerian. They are both evil judges of evildoers, but while Gallerian doesn't care about justice and judges solely based on how much he's being paid, Nemesis' justice is so blind that she finds everyone in Evillious guilty, and the only time she attempts to extort a bribe, it's done out of charity and mercy rather than greed. Bonus points for being his daughter, and the one to finally judge and execute him.
- Evil Costume Switch: After killing Nyoze she trades her short pleated skirt for a longer one, puts on a mask, and wears disconnected sleeves; while whether she's eviler or nobler afterward is up for debate, it illustrates that she's not on "Santa's" side anymore and signifies the moment when she starts to go off the deep end.
- Foreshadowing: In the Evils Forest album booklet, Ma states that "The Last Revolver" shows a potential clue towards "the collectible that [Evils Theater] still can't find", obviously referring to the Vessel of Wrath. This album was released long before "Muzzle of Nemesis" was out.
- Good Scars, Evil Scars: Has a scar on her temple from her failed suicide attempt.
- Half-Sibling Angst: Hinted at in the song but ultimately subverted. The song made it seem like she killed Michelle because she saw herself as Gallerian's only true daughter, but in the novel she didn't even know she was killing Michelle when she sank the ship, much less who Michelle was.
- Hearing Voices: she heard Hansel and Gretel's voices while locked in her house as a child.
- In Love with the Mark: Being ordered to kill the man she loved was what drove her over the edge, though in this case they fell in love before he became the mark.
- Kill It with Fire: Sets fire to Gallerian's house and tells him that he can either burn alive or die by gunshot.
- Malevolent Masked Man: Female example; as part of her outfit change following The Last Revolver, she puts on a domino mask.
- Meaningful Name: "Nemesis" was the name of the Greek Goddess of Vengeance. Interestingly, Nemesis' Roman name (Invidia) gave rise to the Latin word for "Envy".
- My God, What Have I Done?: Her first reaction to killing Nyoze. Her next reaction, however...
- My Own Grampa: Even more screwed up than Gallerian, She is the reincarnation of one of the Souls her mother Ma is made out of, and her father is also her half brother, meaning she's her own mother and grandmother.
- Never My Fault: A constant theme through her novel is that she always blames someone else for what happens to her and never takes responsibility for her own actions; a particularly clear example is accusing Hanma of betraying her because he turned her in to the police after she murdered a literal boatload of people.
- Nigh-Invulnerability: As a result of her demon contract, naturally. She shot herself in the head and survived, as well as later coming out unscathed from a burning mansion. This comes to a point where even after the world is destroyed, she's still alive..
- Nuke 'em: The "Punishment" device she creates. It nukes the entire world.
- Parental Abandonment: Her mother abandoned her the day she was born and never looked back.
- Patricide: She kills Gallerian Marlon, her father.
- Perpetual Frowner: Not as a child, but later on in life she is never seen smiling.
- Revenge: Her ultimate goal. It's even in the English title of her song!
- Sadistic Choice: Offers one to Gallerian; having set fire to his house, he can either burn alive in the flames or die quickly via gunshot.
- Satanic Archetype: Well, sort of. She is perceived as the Master of the Hellish Yard by Gallerian when she comes to judge him. It's more complicated than that, though.
- Split-Personality Merge: Sort of. Upon realizing and coming to terms with the fact that she is, in fact, Levia, she ends up taking on different traits of Levia's incarnations, including Levia herself and Elluka Clockworker, whilst still maintaining her own identity.
- Tranquil Fury: While she supposedly has no emotion other than wrath as an assassin, she is nonetheless quite dispassionate with her killings.
- The Unfavorite: Hinted at; she gets angry at Gallerian focusing all of his attention toward the Clockwork Doll and demands that he look at her instead, calling herself his "only daughter", since Michelle's dead.
- Unstoppable Rage: Sent into a revenge-fueled fury against her master after having to kill her lover for him.
- In "And then the Girl Went Mad" she mentions that after being left alone for so long, she has forgotten about all emotions but Wrath, and wonders if that was what her mother hoped for all along.
- Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Originally, a cheerful little girl with a pet ziz tiama, Ziz-san, and then becomes a killer, in one case even using said ziz tiama to kill someone.
- What Does She See in Him?: Asks herself why her mother loved Gallerian in the first place at the end of her song.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Raised alone in a forest, taken in by a street gang, and forced to kill people by Gallerian, culminating in having to kill her own lover. When she wants to just end it all, she isn't even able to do that. She eventually turns into a dictator that blows up the entire world with Punishment.
Nyoze Octo/Shakuson
Gammon Octo's brother and a second lieutenant in the Union State of Evillious army. He's also Nemesis' lover of over a year; after being convicted of murder by Gallerian, he escapes from his imprisonment but is then killed by his love on the orders of her master.
- Becoming the Mask: He knew who Nemesis was from the start, and approached her to get information on P.N. but truly fell in love with her later on.
- Dating Catwoman: Was on the side of "justice" as a policeman, but fell in love with Nemesis, an assassin.
- Face Death with Dignity: He made no attempt to flee or fight back when Nemesis drew her gun on him, realizing that if he survived, she would be killed.
- Miscarriage of Justice: Convicted for murder by Gallerian as a ploy to take the Venom Sword.
- Morality Chain: In life, he brought Nemesis' happiness back and really could have made her a better person. She speculates later that if he'd still been alive she would have likely ended up in a simple life as his wife, instead of the leader of Elphegort.
- Nice Guy: Very kind and polite to Nemesis, and loved to make her happy. His reply to Gammon's letter begged him not to get revenge if she should kill him, knowing she'd only do it because she was forced to.
- Reincarnation: Of Nyoze Loop Octopus, a man from the Original Sin Story. He had been tasked with following Levia throughout her adventures to ensure she doesn't cause the world's destruction, being instructed to kill her if she does. However, by the time he met her as Nemesis, he ended up falling for her.
- The Unreveal: His last words, which is only heard by Nemesis and not the audience. Ichika's "Memento" manga claims that he was telling Nemesis that he wanted to be by her side forever, but "Memento" isn't considered canon.

The "boy"/Amostia
A boy who was sealed in Lunaca Labora long ago. Nemesis revives him and, based on his powers, creates the Fantastic Nuke Punishment.
Represented by: Kagamine Len
- Blank Slate: He has no soul or will. When used by Nemesis he can destroy everything. He seems to gain a personality around the time of Outlaw and Lychgate though, wherein we learn he resents his "father" Seth. Seth himself theorizes that Amostia regaining his will has something to do with Sickle.
- Fantastic Nuke: The boy himself can destroy the world, and the Punishment weapon Nemesis developed based on him is the Evillious equivalent to the atomic bomb.
- Humanoid Abomination: Looks like a young boy, but has no soul, and his only purpose is to mindlessly destroy everything.
- Karma Houdini: He ultimately ends up fleeing the Third Period for an alternate world, bringing along the corpse of Luna Hadzuki in an effort to make her a "Girl of Creation" to his "Boy of Destruction" and suffering no punishment for essentially destroying all of existence.
- Our Angels Are Different: In Outlaw and Lychgate, his "true" form ends up bathed in light that obscures him to the point that he looks like a glowing orb, though it's observed that he has large wings on his back; the overall effect makes him sound like a Biblical angel.
- Paradox Person: He's an Irregular, just like Allen, Riliane, Hansel, Gretel, Adam, Eve, etc. His extreme destructive potential is apparently due to the fact that he doesn't have a twin; without a "girl of creation" to counteract his status as a "boy of destruction", all he can do is destroy.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: He was locked away in Lunaca Labora by Seth. Nemesis finds him with his help and uses him to create punishment.
- There's No Kill like Overkill: Even after the world is destroyed and everyone but Nemesis is dead, he's still active, and if he's activated again, might just destroy all the souls left on the Third Period.
- The Unreveal: It's never revealed why he thinks Luna Hadzuki would be a proper counterpart to him.
