Characters / Snowbreak Containment Zone Heimdall

Go To

Within Yggdrasil Enterprises are the Operatives of the paramilitary Heimdall Force, who are dedicated to fighting the Titans, as well as any other danger to Yggdrasil interests within Containment Zone Aleph. Unlike the Security teams or militaries outside, the Operatives are distinguished for being Manifestations — superhumans who contain a Deiwos, or god, within the Theotropic Nerves in their bodies.

    open/close all folders

    In general
  • Amazon Brigade: All the playable Operatives thus far are young, attractive women.
  • Ace Custom: Each Operative and their variants have a "signature" orange-tier weapon that they're frequently depicted with, which is often the best-in-slot firearm for them at high levels of play. These special weapons are also used by them in Trial mode for specific stages, and have their own gacha banners that are active at the same time as their owners'.
  • The Chosen Many: The Manifestations' Theotropic Nerves marks them for greatness. The Yggdrasil directors originally intended to use their bodies for Parasitic Immortality, but currently Edda believes they could become a new form of divinity, which it's eager to match its own powers against.
  • God Was My Copilot: All the Operatives have a Deiwos they tap into to unleash their powers. Sometimes the Deiwos is explicitly named, and other times it can only be inferred by their respective Mythical Motifs.
  • Mildly Military: They are a private army, after all, more valued for their powers than their discipline. They all dress differently, use different weapons, banter with one another and live in personalized living quarters.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Despite their responsibilities, they aren't considered a fighting elite within Yggdrasil. Caroline in fact sheepishly admits they're considered a "troublemaker squad". Indeed, the disparate personalities and backgrounds of all the Operatives make them an eclectic, maverick bunch.
  • Raised as a Host: The directors originally intended to make use of the Manifestations' Theotropic Nerves to jump into their bodies in another bid for immortality.
  • Phlebotinum Overload: All Operatives are at risk of "Flooding" due to absorbing too much Titagen, which causes the Deiwos to become their dominant persona, which is never a good thing when one has to keep a power-tripping god under control. It takes specialized treatments afterwards to bring them out of such fugue states.

Date of Birth: March 21
Age: 20

Weapon class: Submachine guns

Often referred to as "Wednesday", Lyfe would have been the first person to win the Valkyrie Games three seasons in a row, had her last match not happened to be Ground Zero for the First Descent, where Ymir took both her parents as well as her right eye. During her recovery at the hospital, she became what would go on to be known as a "Manifestation". From that moment on, her sole purpose in life was to seek revenge on the Titans.

Lyfe's Exosuits are Wednesday and Wild Hunt.

  • The Ace: She was the champion of the Valkyrie Games, and even in Heimdall is considered a very valuable operative.
  • The Beast Master: Her Wednesday Exosuit is accompanied by a group of Raven drones that attack independently of her. Her various upgrades increase the number and duration she can have at once, and increasing Auxiliary damage improves their damage.
  • Blessed with Suck: As a Manifestation, Lyfe now gets high fevers and becomes ill if she's not in cold temperatures. Her old Wild Hunt Exosuit was built to chill her, and these days still requires specialized cooling underclothing. Her own dorm room apparently has the air conditioner set to freezing, which she doesn't even notice.
  • Consummate Professional: She's serious and dutiful. This can be clearly seen with the personalizations to her room in the Base. A Wall of Weapons and a wall of documents show how she always has the war against the Titans on her mind.
  • Glass Eye: Her right eye is a replacement for the one she lost in the First Descent. Even when she Floods and becomes possessed by Odin, the power only emits from her one real eye.
  • God Was My Copilot: It's established early on that Bestla's Deiwos is Odin
  • An Ice Person: Her Wild Hunt variation deals Frost damage with her skills.
  • I Know Madden Kombat: Her experience as champion of the Valkyrie Games, a combat sport, seems to have given her enough working knowledge of fighting and weapons to let her quickly join Heimdall as an Operative.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: Her standard skills allow her to unleash a barrage of micro missiles from her drones.
  • Mascot: The current app icon as of version 1.7.
  • Mythical Motifs: She has numerous references to her Deiwos Odin. Her nickname "Wednesday" refers to the day of the week that used to be called "Woden's Day"; she lost an eye in a life-changing event, as Odin did to drink from Mimir's Well; and her Wednesday exosuit is accompanied by Raven drones, as Odin is accompanied by the ravens Huginn and Muninn.
  • Red Baron: Her moniker is "Wednesday".
  • Revenge Before Reason: She's obsessed with killing all the Titans, especially Ymir, sometimes to the point of jeopardizing the mission, and the Adjutant has to keep her in check when that happens.
  • Shock and Awe: Her Wednesday variation gives her Electical damage for some of her attacks.
  • Starter Mon: She is the first playable character you use in game.
  • Weapon Specialization: Wild Hunt is expected to be used with the 5-Star weapon "Stardust Memory", since its buffs synergize with the gameplay kit focused on attacking with Standard Skills.

Voiced by: Heather Nicol (EN) Mayu Sagara (JP)
Date of Birth: July 30
Age: 19
Height: 5'5
Weapon class: Shotguns

A Heimdall frontline operative and former Valkyrie Games star, Fenny was a "genius kid next door". She enjoyed this reputation, until Lyfe appeared and gave Fenny her first experience in losing the spotlight. "Wouldn't it be nice if that person didn't exist?" — Lyfe's shadow haunts Fenny's mind. When the Valkyrie Games were suspended following the First Descent, Fenny joined the Heimdall Force just so she could have another stage upon which she could compete against Lyfe.

"I will prove I'm the champion this time!"

Fenny's Exosuits are Lionheart and Coronet.

  • Always Second Best: She's become Lyfe's self-appointed rival ever since she entered her life, and indeed, she never seems to quite match the former. Even her statistics get in on the joke, as she's just slightly younger and shorter than Lyfe.
  • Attack Speed Buff: Her Coronet variation's skills gives her and her teammates increased fire rate.
  • Attention Whore: She constantly preens and acts like an actress in need of a camera, and gets affronted when enemy "extras" appear, or when the player switches to her, rather than use her all the time.
  • Dash Attack: Her "Queen Bee" skill that her Lionheart variation gives her, which serves as the backbone of that particular kit.
  • God Was My Copilot: Fenny reveals early on that her Deiwos is Hera, the Greek queen of the gods, which fits how she's a queen bee constantly demanding attention.
  • I Know Madden Kombat: As the second best competitor behind Lyfe in the Valkyrie Games, it didn't take much for her to decide to chase after her rival, into Heimdall.
  • Lovable Alpha Bitch: Self-absorbed prima donna? Yes. Cruel? No. It's best seen in the kindness Fenny shows to Nita, who has a scavenger background. In her Base story, the Adjutant invites her to eat at an expensive restaurant, but realizes he underestimated the cost. Fenny, who not only gives the Adjutant an expensive gift, also notices his discomfort and then secretly pays for meal herself.
  • Magikarp Power: Lionheart's "Queen Bee" isn't a particularly exciting Standard Skill, letting her dash and fire her shotgun point blank, but near all of her Manifestation bonuses are dedicated to improving it. By the end, Fenny will be able to spam it non-stop, without regards to ammo or cooldowns.
  • Never My Fault: Early on, despite explicitly warning the Adjutant to leave the Adventists alone, Fenny herself winds up antagonizing them into a fight by shooting one of the Changed. All she has to say about it is that the Adjutant should file the incident as self-defense.
  • No Range Like Point-Blank Range: Fenny is expected to use her shotgun in close range, with her "Queen Bee" skill giving her a Dash Attack just to get up close.
  • Red Baron: During her stint in the Valkyrie Games, she used to be called "Lionheart of Olympus".
  • Shock and Awe: Her Coronet variation deals Electrical damage with her skills.
  • Situational Sword: Fenny is introduced showing that her knockdown skills can be used to throw enemies off edges to instantly kill them. Unfortunately, Snowbreak's maps very rarely include convenient ledges to enable that. Nonetheless, Fenny's knockdown skills are still very useful crowd control in general.
  • Starter Mon: After being given Lyfe, players are introduced to Fenny, teaching them how to form teams and switch between characters.
  • Weapon Specialization: Coronet's ideal weapon is the 5-Star "Sunny Payback", as its added pellets synergizes with the Exosuit's Manifestation perk.

Voiced by: Penelope Rawlins (EN) Ayaka Nanase (JP)
Date of Birth: December 20
Age: 17
Height: 5'5
Weapon class: Pistols

Acacia awakened from 30 years of induced hibernation after her pod was recovered by the Adjutant, but her expressions still remain frozen. The way she speaks doesn't fit modern society well, and she has an obsession with with secondhand anime products. Collecting these antiques not only satisfies her interests, but is also a way for her to remember her past. After her awakening, Acacia successfully suppressed her Juvenile Cystalosis and became the quickest Manifestation to gain a Deiwos. From her exceptional individual combat capabilities and behavioural patterns, it is likely she is ex-special forces.

Acacia's Exosuits are [Redacted] and Kaguya.

  • Devious Daggers: [Redacted] gives Acacia two knives, which she uses for her skills.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: She spent 30 years frozen, and has awoken to an entirely new world without a lot of the entertainment she used to enjoy.
  • Flechette Storm: [Redacted]'s Standard Skill is a thrown knife with a regenerating stock of three. With enough upgrades, its rapid regeneration and cooldown can let Acacia essentially use her skill as her main weapon, while relegating her handgun to a back up.
  • Gamer Chick: Acacia's interests are anime and video games, and when she's not speaking of the former, she's talking about the latter. She can be seen playing a game on her PC in her room.
  • Little Miss Snarker: She's young and very quick to fire off jabs at the Adjutant.
  • McNinja: With her slight build and emphasis on blades and small guns, her debuff-based skills, plus her possible special forces background, Acacia comes across as a futuristic ninja, only further emphasized by her Kaguya variation, which gives her a ninja-esque headband and a Fuuma Shuriken.
  • Mysterious Past: Whatever history she had 30 years ago, it's very unknown. It's only emphasised by the fact she's "likely" ex-special forces, and that one of her variations is called [Redacted], alluding to her mystery.
  • An Ice Person: Her Kaguya variation deals Frost damage.
  • Pinball Projectile Her Standard Skill for her [Redacted] variation has her toss knives that can bounce between a minimum of two enemies, so to maximize their damage it is best to throw them into a group of targets.
  • Pop-Cultured Badass: Being from 30 years past, Acacia is the most prone to make modern day references, most famously remarking that the Adjutant has a "waiting for the release of Half-Life 3 face".
  • Starter Mon: After getting Lyfe and Fenny, players are not long after introduced to the game's Echo system, where she's automatically your first unlock, giving players their first complete team of three.
  • Time Stands Still: [Redacted]'s skills can induce slowdown on enemies, either through her Support ability or her Ultimate.
  • Weapon Specialization: Kaguya's banner is accompanied by the one for the 5-Star weapon "Pine Aurora", implying that they're most optimal when used together.

Voiced by: Hollie Taylor (EN) Shiori Izawa (JP)
Date of Birth: April 23
Age: 19
Height: 5'2
Weapon class: Assault Rifles

An ex-senior researcher at Yggdrasil Enterprises, Fritia is a genius born into a family of academics. She possessed a deep understanding of AI from a young age, and firmly believes technology is something that should benefit humanity. However, her creation, the all-purpose AI "Ember", was used by the Light Chasers as a tool for their extensive crimes; seeing the resulting tragedies in Containment Zone Aleph, Fritia realized how technology could also bring pain and destruction. Overwhelmed by guilt, Fritia left the labs and joined Heimdall Force to sever the cycle of tragedy with her own hands. Despite witnessing so much pain, she still believes the root of human nature is kindness, not evil.

Fritia's Exosuits are Little Sunshine and Hush.

  • Airplane Arms: Fritia's sprint animation has her trail her arms behind her, with only one hand on her gun.
  • The Atoner: Fritia is driven by a need to make up for the problems her technologies caused, especially in regards to what her Ember has allowed the Light Chasers to do.
  • Berserk Button: Reloading guns. She's often heard complaining that they should have auto-loaders for their guns.
  • God Was My Copilot: Her Personal File eventually reveals that her Deiwos is Prometheus, who brought fire to humanity but is forced to pay for it by having his liver eaten by an eagle every day.
  • Mythical Motifs: Fritia's story of developing important technology, only to find it backfire on her, echoes the story of Prometheus. Furthermore, the Adjutant worries that despite showing every sign of being physically fit, being a Manifestation is actually giving her degeneration to match Prometheus's own wounds.
  • Playful Hacker: She serves as Heimdall's tech expert, able to analyze data and videos. She also gives vital aid to the Adjutant by create viruses Heimdall can use.
  • Playing with Fire: Fritia's skills deal Thermal Damage.
  • Power Nullifier: Little Sunshine's "In a Stalk of Fennel" skill not only damages and knocks down enemies, but also temporarily disables any buffs they have; useful for the Elite Mooks who have all sorts of innate buffs.
  • The Smart Guy: She handles all technology related issues for Heimdall.
  • Teen Genius: She's a mere 19-year-old and she's already an ex-senior researcher, who now serves as Heimdall's tech expert.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: Hush's Ultimate Skill has her unleash a massive beam of energy that can be aimed at will for several seconds.
  • You Shall Not Evade Me: Hush's Standard Skill has Fritia toss out a bola-like projectile that then pulls in all nearby enemies, gathering them up to attack them all at once.
  • Weapon Specialization: Hush's ideal weapon is the 5-star "Lava Bones", which buffs her powerful Limit Break. In general, her art tends to associate her with Bullpup-style assault rifles.

    Nita

"What could I get cash for... huh? I didn't say anything!"
Voiced by: Safiyya Ingar (EN) Rika Abe (JP)
Date of Birth: May 5
Age: 19
Height: 5'11
Weapon class: Shotguns

Born into a scavenger gang inside Containment Zone Aleph, Nita belonged to the lowest class of society, where the hardships of survival are unfathomable. The pains of such a past have nourished Nita's (somewhat naive) belief that "power should be used to protect and not hurt others". After learning that working for Heimdall meant big paychecks, Nita volunteered to receive a Baldr Inhibitor and manually become a Manifestation. Without much of a cause to believe in, or wits to speak of, all Nita wants is to make enough money to prevent her and her companions from returning to the hell they once lived in.

Nita's Exosuit is Hands.
  • Conflicting Loyalties: As someone with a scavenger background, yet now a member of Heimdall, she spends Chapter 3 arguing against the possibility that the Coyotes stole Brisingamen. Unfortunately, Heimdall finds it hard to trust the people who frequently loot them, and the Coyotes find it hard to trust Nita since she's gone corporate.
  • Close-Range Combatant: As a shotgun user, Nita is expected to get up close and personal. Even her skills are used in close range, either as a spinning lariat, or a Ground Pound that knocks down all enemies around her.
  • Expy: Of Lida Romero from the previous Seasun game Girl Café Gun, also a tan, penny-pinching soldier who grew up from rock bottom and working however she can for extra cash.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Her exoskeleton-like rig isn't actually mounted to her arms, and can in fact grow in size to become two Power Fists she can use to pummel her foes.
  • Mythical Motifs: Between her bindi-like forehead gem, tanned skin, multiple arms, and quotes about "destruction and rebirth", Nita obviously alludes to Hindu mythology. The fact two of her skill are named "Vrishavahana" and "Rudra", which are associated with Shiva, imply who her Deiwos is.
  • The One Who Made It Out: Nita hails from the scavengers of Aleph, but so far she's the only one who signed up with Yggdrasil. This makes her uniquely positioned as Heimdall's guide through the Camps, as she still knows all the Trust Passwords the scavengers use.
  • Only in It for the Money: She only joined Heimdall because it pays well, and even then she often looks for other ways to make extra cash on the side.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's the tallest of all playable characters, which only enhances her athletic beauty.
  • Working-Class Hero: She has the humblest background of all the playable Operatives, and is only fighting for the paycheck. Even in the Base, she frequently talks to the Adjutant about ways to make a quick buck.
  • We Used to Be Friends: She wants to still keep her ties with the Scavengers, but Esther the Vulture chooses to disregard their old friendship.

"This could be dangerous... excellent!"
Voiced by: Eleanor Bennett (EN) Kana Yuuki (JP)
Date of Birth: September 5
Age: 18
Height: 5'7
Weapon class: Sniper Rifles

Marian unexpectedly became a Manifestation during a Descent. As a result, her leg disability soon recovered, and she quickly gained the attention of Yggdrasil's higher-ups and the military. With the help of Yggdrasil and her family, she joined Heimdall's frontline forces. She always seems to return injured, but always refuses treatment. Yet she goes back to the battlefield, time after time, for the sake of her family...

Just kidding. She can't stop going back because of the thrill and satisfaction it brings her!

Marian's Exosuits are Queen of Pain and Swift.

  • Combat Sadomasochist: Marian is excited at the prospect of being injured, and even during the story, intentionally frees a prisoner during their interrogation, partially to get info, but also because she knows she'll be attacked.
  • Draw Aggro: Queen of Pain's "Smokescreen" skill makes her go invisible for several seconds, while leaving behind a decoy to attract enemies, allowing her to relocate and continue sniping from safety.
  • Family Business: She is the daughter of the CEO of Cathode Technologies, A weapon manufacturer company.
  • Long-Range Fighter: With sniper rifles as her weapon of choice, Marian is best suited taking her time aiming and picking off targets from a distance. Her Swift variant plays with this, giving her more mobility options to suggest she run-and-gun and hip fire with her sniper rifle.
  • Mythical Motifs: One of her skills is "Gae Bulg", the spear owned by the Irish hero Cú Chulainn. Marian's Combat Sadomasochist nature might also reference how Cú Chulainn frequently got wounded in combat, and died fighting in a Last Stand.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: She's from a well-to-do family and even in Heimdall still carries on the habits and mannerisms of her pedigree, including hosting tea breaks. Of course, as a Manifestation and an Operative, she's also expected to fight as a sniper.

"Cherno is not an outstanding soldier when compared to the others. She scares easily and lacks courage, embodying a number of uncontrollable factors." This is what Cherno thinks of herself and believes others think as well. However, it is recommended to consider deploying Cherno if the mission proves to be challenging: the powers of Meursault are not to be trifled with. More heavily classified is the fact Cherno was raised to be an Emissary of the Adventists. Her personality split in two in an attempt to resist these memories.

Cherno's Exosuits are Those Two and Enigma.
  • Archnemesis Dad: Cherno's father is High Presbyter Kegaard, the leader of the Adventists, meaning the two of them are now fighting on opposite sides.
  • Cast From HP: Her Ultimate Skill, "Clear, Empty Skies", can be upgraded to remove its timer. After that, Beloberg will only be limited by the health drain it inflicts on Cherno while it is active.
  • Barefoot Loon: She doesn't have footwear with soles, and in fact has her toes exposed. This incongruity meshes with the fact she has a second personality she holds whole conversations with.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Cherno winds up being an instrumental figure in Gradient of Souls, as she has to make peace with her past, while Edda plans to use her unusual condition to jumpstart the apocalypse.
  • Death of a Thousand Cuts: Her Enigma variation is built around boosting Damage Over Time, with her skills, ideal 5-star gun, and Logistics Squad boosting the damage of the Chaos-based "Dazed" status effect, and further boosting attack when it procs.
  • Duality Motif: Doubles come up frequently in Cherno's design, from the name of her Exosuit, her stark two-toned hair, her split personality, and the fact her name and that of her Guardian Entity reference a pair of closely associated deities.
  • Guardian Entity: Cherno's Ultimate Skill has her summon the entity Beloberg, which attacks independently of her.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: At the end of Gradient of Souls, while the Adjutant and Cherno succeed in rescuing Meursault, the former's inability to fully absorb the Pact of Antimony safely makes Meursault choose to sacrifice herself to help him succeed, choosing to use her new lease on life to protect the people she loves.
  • Hourglass Plot: Gradient of Souls establishes that Meursault was created to provide the aggression Cherno lacked, but the story concludes with the two essentially switching places, as Cherno Grew a Spine and gained the strength to stop Meursault's rampage. Her Enigma Exosuit even shows this, with Cherno and Meursault switching hair colors to show which of them has become stronger.
  • Lethal Chef: She likes to cook, but has a bad sense in ingredients combination such as combining soy sauce, grounded sesame seeds and cream and honey for coffee or a bright red spicy cake called Tropical Storm Cupcake
  • MacGuffin Girl: Both she and Meursault occupy a strange situation where she's one Manifestation with two Deiwos. This also makes her instrumental in Edda's plan in Gradient of Souls to generate enough power to fully mature the World Tree, which would be enough to pull everyone into Valhalla immediately.
  • Mythical Motifs: Beloberg is a reference to the Polabian deity Belobog, or "White God", possibly giving away what her Deiwos is. Cherno's own name is also just shy of spelling out "Chernobog", or "Black God", Belobog's counterpart.
  • Mystical White Hair: After freeing herself from the Pact of Antimony in Gradient of Souls, Cherno gains the Enigma Exosuit and gains white hair to indicate her intense brush with Titagen.
  • Nervous Wreck: Cherno is a stammering, anxious, Shrinking Violet who has no idea what she's capable of.
  • Personality Powers: Cherno cringes from danger and would rather not fight — fittingly, all her Powers Do the Fighting without her needing to lift a finger: her Standard Skill leaves a field that knocks enemies down or does Damage Over Time with her Enigma form, while her Ultimate for Those Two unleashes a Guardian Entity that fights independently of her.
  • Rage Breaking Point: In Gradient of Souls, Edda tricks Meursault into believing the Adjutant is dead, sending her into despair and becoming the Titan Pact of Antimony, who tries to create a new world to undo his death. It falls to Cherno to defeat her to calm her down.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Cherno has a second personality called Merusault, which is sadistic and more capable of using Manifestation powers, and thankfully only wishes to protect Cherno, as it brutalizes anybody who hurts her. Gradient of Souls further explores Merusault's character and desire to protect Cherno and the Adjutant, for good and ill.
  • Unrealistic Black Hole: Her Enigma Standard skill creates spherical voids in the air that deal Chaos damage. Unlike other "black holes", the Void of Self-Loathing has no vacuuming properties, meaning enemies can simply walk away from them. On the other hand, Cherno can simply place more on the field, and even remotely detonate them to clear them away.
  • Weapon Specialization: Cherno's ideal 5-star weapon for Engima is "Uninvited Adieu", which buffs the Dazed status effect. Alternately, she can use the 4-star "Halo of Hope", which has a smaller damage boost based on Dazed.

Mature and reliable, Naruse Haru, the "God of War", has always considered one's reputation to be more important than one's life. In light of her father's "accident" and to maintain her honor as a soldier, Naruse manually became a Manifestation. She became one of the first to join Heimdall and become a seasoned ace. After an incident took her right arm, Naruse disappeared, before returning as the ex-God of War, adorned with the "Tyrfing" biomechanical combat prosthetic. For her father's honor, her own, and that of her squad, Naruse is determined to reclaim it all, and no amount of pain or death will stop her.

Haru's Exosuits are The Ace and Absconditus.

  • Ancestral Weapon: Her Absconditus exosuit was designed by her father
  • Arm Cannon: Her Standard Skill "Triple Tap" gives her a Charged Attack where she uses her right arm to blast an enemy three times. At a high enough level, it's good enough to be her primary weapon to snipe individual targets.
  • An Arm and a Leg: She lost her right arm when she underwent a Flooding episode and went berserk, forcing Lyfe to cut it off.
  • Consummate Professional: She's a very serious woman who puts in all her effort into her work.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Her Absconditus variation encourages getting right up close and personal to clear hordes of enemies with her sword slashes.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Haru and her search for her father becomes a major subplot of Fogbound Dream, which ends with her squaring off personally with her nemesis, Will Anderson.
  • Dented Iron: She used to Heimdall's top fighter until she lost her right arm. She's still back in fighting condition, but no longer considered the best, now that Lyfe is around.
  • Emotional Bruiser: In chapter 11, she met her father who long thought to be dead briefly, gets separated and come back to find him dead in cryonics state with his arms open waiting for her.
  • Experienced Protagonist: She was one of the Adjutant's subordinates when they both worked for Security. As such, she brings the same high standards of excellence with her to Heimdall.
  • God Was My Copilot: Her Absconditus Personal File story confirms her Deiwos is Týr, Norse patron god of warriors, whose hand was bitten off by Fenrir.
  • Sword and Gun: Her Absconditus variation pairs her handgun with a sword, giving her powerful close combat options.
  • Tomboy: Downplayed, but her Personal File shows how much of a career fighter she is, to the point she's unfamiliar with common female interests like make-up and perfume.
  • Weapon Specialization: Absconditus banners are accompanied by one for the 5-Star weapon "16-Psyche", which is intentionally designed to amplify her specific Standard and Ultimate skills. During the Fogbound Dream event, players could also purchase the 4-Star "Wild Wasp Stinger", which has a weaker effect.

Weapon class: Sniper Rifles

"Safety first" — This is something that has been deeply carved into Yao's mind since she was 4 year old. Surviving in areas plagued by gangs and mobs and other harsh conditions by herself, all Yao wants now is a safe and stable life. In the military, Yao was evaluated as lacking "honor and motivation". Even after joining Heimdall, Yao only wants to be an ordinary person who gets off work on the dot. However, this yearning for mediocrity and stability reflects a hope for a long life, similar to the sun in winter, when it's not too hot, but still provides heat and hope in the harshest of conditions.

Yao's Exosuits are Quiet Quitter and Winter Solstice.

  • BFG: Winter Solstice's Ultimate Skill lets her bring out "New — Solar Storm", granting her 5 charged shots that deal huge amounts of damage.
  • Butt-Monkey: Snowbreak's trailers delight into making her the butt of physical comedy, as she get things dropped on her or receives a Dope Slap whenever she begins to nod off. In the gameplay trailer introducing the game's cover mechanics, Yao even attempts a dramatic leap over a concrete divider, only for her foot to actually catch on a programming bug, causing her to face plant.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: She's definitely a talented sniper who brings a lot of military experience to Heimdall, but she's also definition of "unmotivated", unwilling to work more than the absolute minimum.
  • Cold Sniper: Her outward personality, which doubles with a Friendly Sniper due to her inward personality and her multiple skills based on healing teammates.
  • Combat Medic: She's the only character of the initial 18 characters to have multiple skills based on healing teammates.
  • Friendly Sniper: Her inward personality, which doubles with a Cold Sniper due to her outward personality and her weapon of choice being a high powered sniper rifle.
  • God Was My Copilot: Her Personal File reveals that her Deiwos is Khors, the Slavic Sun god. Yao is often compared to the Sun in winter — not readily noticable, but always steadily burning for the humble goal of seeing another day.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She rubs a lot of people the wrong way with her unwillingness to do even the slightest bit more to help voluntarily, but she can push herself when the chips are down. In her Personal File, she and the Adjutant are stranded underground; after a mild complaint about working overtime, Yao's professionalism takes over and she fights tooth and nail to get the two of them out. (Then she demands a week of paid leave for them both.)
  • Long-Range Fighter: Her Winter Solstice variant does up to 4% damage the further she is away from her target, which can be increased by raising her alignment index.
  • The Slacker: Yao wants to do the least amount of work and get paid for it, and often whines about having to do more.
  • Parental Abandonment: In Chapter 6, Yao and Acacia come in contact with Titagen, resulting in flashback episodes. In Yao's case, it's revealed that her parents abandoned her during a fireworks celebration, leaving her to grow up fending for herself.
  • Personality Powers: Quiet Quitter lives up to its name, letting Yao do the least amount of work possible. Her Standard and Support Skills deposit gadgets that do work on her behalf, while her Ultimate Skill outright has her fall asleep, temporarily disabling her while forcing another party member to take over, who then gets constant healing.
  • Playing with Fire: Winter Solstice deals Thermal Damage.
  • Utility Party Member Quit Quitter's skills provide healing rather than damage.
  • Weapon Specialization: Snowbreak's new-player onboarding tasks rewards both Quiet Quitter and the 5-Star weapon "Olympus", which adds more healing utility to a Combat Medic kit, while Winter Solstice is associated with "Space Cowboy", which takes advantage of that Exosuit's reload-focused gimmick.

Voiced by: Harriet Carmichael (EN) Yui Horie (JP)
Date of Birth: January 19
Age: 19
Height: 5'6
Weapon class: Pistols

Enya was born into an elite family, and her comfortable and harmonious environment meant she's never had to experience much pain or agony — a rarity in Heimdall. A former childcare worker, Enya often sees others as kids that need looking after, often unknowingly becoming a counselor that provides understanding and acceptance from those who need it. Enya hopes to help everyone rediscover their memories and desire for love, and make this era of emptiness regain its faith. Although Enya exudes kindness, it does not signify weakness — she is always able to encourage others with a smile, and becomes tougher than anyone in the most desperate and dire situations.

Enya's Exosuits are Big Sis and Exuvia.

  • Berserk Button: Hurting children. As a former childcare worker in a world where Juvenile Cystalosis hits youths, she takes their suffering very personally. When she finds out that Sartre tormented Simona, one of her former charges, she snaps and shoots him in retaliation.
  • Cool Big Sis: It's in her title.
  • Expy:
    • A warm-hearted, both a mother and big sister figure, who loves to look after kids? Very close to Saren Sasaki from Princess Connect! Re:Dive, and being voiced by the same voice actress!
    • Being a nice girl that loves to look after the ones she's caring of, and being voiced by the same voice actress, brings Irene White from fellow Seasun game Girl Café Gun to mind. (Alternatively, Enya may be a Composite Character of Irene and Grainne Draser, GCG's counterpart Team Mom.)
  • Mythical Motifs: With her Ultimate Skill being titled "Feathered Serpent", along with the snake-like drone that accompanies her, it's strongly implied that Enya's Deiwos is one of the Mesoamerican deities matching that description.
  • Team Mom: She's strongly maternal, and fusses over other teammates, often to their embarrassment.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: All her skills have her throw out some form of floating bomb that stick to enemies and explode.

"A value for... "cost of human life"?"
Click here to see Shadow Ka
Voiced by: Sarah Pitard (EN) Manaka Iwami (JP)
Date of Birth: October 10
Age: 23
Height: 5'5
Weapon class: Submachine Guns

People often assume Ramses Group researcher Mauxir is an AI with a human appearance. After all, she behaves and speaks in an inhuman manner, and she lost a human's most important characteristic: a sense of pain. None of that matters to Mauxir, however, as she is only interested in her research — she frequently adjusts her scale, trying to find the balance of the soul.

Mauxir's Exosuits are Meow and Shadow Ka.

  • Cat Girl: Despite the fact her Deiwos is Anubis, Mauxir for some reason has the motifs of a cat, not a jackal. Even her name "Mauxir" sounds like "meow". Her character biography also lampshades this oddity.
"A canine named like a cat, isn't that a juxtaposition that humans find interesting, meow?"
  • Conditional Powers: Her Ultimate Skill, "Moment of Judgment" changes depending on the enemy's health relative to her current HP. If the enemy has less, it will deal a deal a burst of damage equal to Mauxir's in an attempt to kill them in one hit. If Mauxir has less, she'll get a Frost Damage bonus equal to her Max HP.
  • Feel No Pain: Mauxir has congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis, or CIPA. During the game's story Mauxir uses her condition to willingly mutilate her arm while blocking attacks; In her base story, she and the Adjutant discuss her condition, and how it could give her an advantage in a chili-eating competition, but Mauxir notes the health dangers involved: she might not feel ill, but her body would still suffer the side effects of overeating spices.
  • For Science!: Mauxir joined Yggdrasil and eventually moved to a frontline position because she's interested in studying the contaminated areas of Aleph. Mauxir excuses how it could interfere with her assigned work by saying that as long as she finishes her mission objectives ahead of time, no one can complain what she does afterwards.
  • God Was My Copilot: Her Deiwos is confirmed to be Anubis, Egyptian underworld god
  • Human Hammer-Throw: Shadow Ka's Standard Skill, "Dance of the Undead", has her swing a copy of herself generated by Kebechet until she hurls it at enemies, which then explodes. It is also a Charged Attack that can be held so that it can gain two tiers of increasing damage.
  • An Ice Person: Mauxir deals Frost Damage with her skills.
  • Mythical Motifs: Between her striped Egyptian-inspired clothing, animal attributes, her ability to grab enemies' hearts, and her Ultimate being portrayed as a scale, Mauxir has many, many references to Anubis, Egyptian god of funerals and graves. Even her birth date, October 10, can be written as 10/10, leaving both the month and day comfortably balanced and matching. Her Shadow Ka's assistant drone is also called Kebechet, the daughter of Anubis
  • Pro-Human Transhuman: She's the most divorced from her humanity, even choosing to call others "you humans". Nonetheless, in one of her Base conversations, she claims her favorite animals are humans.
  • Robot Buddy: Shadow Ka comes with a drone named Kebechet, which can create duplicates of Mauxir to help her multitask (or sneak away from her duties)
  • Spanner in the Works: In Verdurous Holiday, her nosiness eventually has the secret game show go Off the Rails, as she sneaks past security and blasts her way to Beatrice's secret command center, revealing the truth to everyone.
  • The Spock: She has a very analytical, unemotional outlook that makes her have difficulty understanding things like art and stories.
  • Sympathetic Magic: Mauxir's Standard Skill, "Underworld Program" hits one enemy and then creates a holographic heart in her vicinity. By shooting the heart she deals damage to the enemy, no matter the distance. Shadow Ka has "Vein-Squeezing Bind" as a Support Skill, amplifying damage to an enemy other characters cause when they shoot Kebechet.
  • Weapon Specialization: Shadow Ka banners are accompanied by one for the 5-Star weapon "Alloy Truth", which adds buffs depending on whether Mauxir is on-field or providing support. The Verdurous Holiday event also allowed players to purchase the 4-Star "Wave", which synergizes with Shadow Ka's high health. In general, Mauxir's art portrays her using MP7-style SMGs.

Click here to see Ethereal Cloud
Voiced by: Rosie Jones (EN) Chiwa Saitō (JP)
Date of Birth: November 11
Age: 20
Height: 5'6
Weapon class: Assault Rifles

As the genius eldest daughter of a large family, both blessed and cursed with an extraordinary memory, Chenxing has always stood to the side like an observer and focused on her duties. She has been called a genius with photographic memory and fortune-telling abilities. She is in dire need of friends to speak and complain to; someone energetic and kind, like the friend she could have had a few years ago. If she had been able to free herself of her family's stringent rules, she would have still had her friend.

Chenxing's Exosuits are The Observer and Ethereal Cloud.

  • Ancestral Weapon: Her Ethereal Cloud exosuit was designed by her mother
  • Blessed with Suck: There are times she resents her perfect memory recall. At the end of Mingdeng Ritual, she sadly notes that she will be the only one to remember the celebrations perfectly, and even normal people eventually forget in a few weeks, much less her best friend Siris, who will probably forget within days. The Adjutant responds by getting everyone to take a group photo in commemoration.
  • Chain Lightning: Ethereal Cloud's Standard and Support Skill both grant her this attack. After tagging a group of enemies with her skills, Chenxing or her teammates can shoot one such enemy, which then causes lightning to jump between all of them, dealing damage to the whole group.
  • Combat Medic: Her Support Skill creates a Purity Mark that drops health pick ups other characters can use.
  • Conspicuous Consumption: Physical paper books are considered an expensive commodity, as most writing is digital. That Chenxing is able to indulge her preference for printed paper shows how wealthy she is.
  • Foil: To her friend Siris. Chenxing wears cold colours, has exceptional memory, and fights at long range with gadgets and an assault rifle; Siris wears warm colors, suffers from memory loss, and fights at close range with a shield mechanic and a shotgun.
  • Lonely at the Top: Because she has an elite family and a great intellect, Chenxing is isolated from meaningful companionship.
  • The Mole: Chenxing is working on behalf of Yggdrasil's Elders to keep an eye on the Heimdall Force, though it's implied that her growing friendship with the Adjutant and the others is making her reconsider her loyalties. She finally does change allegiances in Chapter 11, helping defuse the nuclear bombs intended to wipe out the Fifth Research Institute.
  • Heel–Face Turn: In Chapter 11, despite being ordered to assassinate 𝜏, the two of them cut a deal that has Chenxing betray the directors who sent her.
  • Hyper-Awareness: Thanks to her Hyperthymesia, Chenxing is capable extracting lots of information from her surroundings. In her Personal File, she and the Adjutant go in search of the missing Heimdall members, and she's quickly able to deduce their last positions based on their surroundings and even the noises of the things they kicked while walking.
  • It's All My Fault: Chenxing blames herself for not meeting Siris at the Valkyrie Games, where the latter lost her parents and her audio recordings, basically wiping out her past. Her guilt is only amplified by the fact Siris can't even remember the transgression.
  • Mythical Motifs: "Mingdeng Ritual" implies that Chenxing's Deiwos is Jiutian Xuannü, "the Dark Lady of the Nine Heavens", China's goddess of war. Like Jiutian Xuannü, Chenxing fights by equipping others with talismans and artifacts to aid them.
  • Paper Talisman: Chenxing's Ethereal Cloud variation makes use of these for her skills. "Silk Spiritual Slip" and "Scarlet Thunder Counterblade" fires them at enemies and stick to them, which then deal Electical Damage any time they're shot.
  • Photographic Memory: Chenxing has Hyperthymesia, giving her perfect memory recall. She can't forget.
  • Shock and Awe: Chenxing's skills deal Electrical Damage.
  • The Turret Master: Chenxing can drop up to three pillars called Thunder Soldiers that attack independently of her and have their own HP. Her Ultimate Skill also drops a Thunder Token that further buffs her Thunder Soldiers.
  • Weapon Specialization: The Observer is associated with the 5-Star weapon "Trial's Eve", which amplifies her "Psychic" Support Skill. Ethereal Cloud's banner also is accompanied by the one for "Anti-Evil Ward", which can rapidly gain stacking damage thanks to the amount of electrical damage the Exosuit puts out. The Mingdeng Ritual event also allowed players to purchase the 4-Star "Wild Leer" for her. In general, Chenxing's art depicts her using Armalite-patterned Assault Rifles.

Voiced by: Clare Corbett (EN) Haruka Shiraishi (JP)
Date of Birth: July 19
Age: 27
Height: 5'4
Weapon class: Shotguns

A former intern at Yggdrasil Brain Science Lab. As a child, she was diagnosed with selective memory loss, a condition that severely impacted her life. But with the caring support of her parents, she slowly regained a sense of normalcy. If it weren't for the First Descent, Siris would have been an ordinary person who carried a voice recorder. But with the loss of her parents and her recordings amid the catastrophe, the concept of family became blurry for Siris. Through the fragments of memories, Siris can only continue waiting for "someone".

Siris's Exosuit is The Goldfish.
  • Bizarre Tastein Food: The only known person who likes Cherno's cookings
  • Deflector Shields: Siris plays like a traditional tank, with all her skills based on dropping some kind of shield to mitigate damage.
  • Foil: To her friend Chenxing. Chenxing wears cold colors, has exceptional memory, and fights at long range with gadgets and an assault rifle; Siris wears warm colors, suffers from memory loss, and fights at close range with a shield mechanic and a shotgun.
  • Forgetful Jones: Siris has selective memory loss, and uses an audio recorder to retain information. When her original recorder was destroyed during the First Descent, it obliterated her past. One of her conversations in the Base goes so far as to note she has unusually short REM sleep cycles, meaning she neither dreams nor sleeps long enough to convert short-term memory into long-term ones.
  • Meaningful Name: The idiom "the memory of a goldfish" describes anyone with poor memory. Siris, meanwhile, has a memory that goes beyond "poor" and into straight-up "problematic".

"Magic isn't deception. It's the joyful art of illusion."
Voiced by: Satomi Akesaka (JP)
Date of Birth: September 16
Age: 18
Height: 5'4
Weapon class: Sniper Rifles

Tess is always enthusiastic and optimistic. She has dreams of becoming a magician, but her poor stage ability often lets her down. But with the Adjutant's encouragement she remains determined to hold onto her dream. In order to preform in front of the Adjutant again and try to improve the status of her family, Tess entered the Manfifestation selection process before college.

Tess's Exosuit is The Magician.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Tess figures greatly in Special Chapter, Perilous Snowpath, where she tries her best to guide Heimdall into Yehrus despite the innumerable complications affecting the infiltration before it even begins.
  • Aloof Ally: Despite nominally being a part of Heimdall, in practice she served more as 𝜏's hatchet-woman, doing long-distance reconnaissance and destabilization of Yehrus' defenses ahead of time to prepare for Heimdall's arrival. These many differences, plus the suddeness of her inclusion into Heimdall's main forces leads to a lot of distrust of her initially.
  • Childhood Friends: Of sorts with the Adjutant. They knew each other before the Adjutant went up to Mistilteinn, and the latter encouraged her. Thus, one of Tess's strong wishes is to reunite with her old friend. Of course, given this is a Gacha game, it has elements of Ship Tease.
  • Confusion Fu: Her Standard Skill, "Card-Trick Surprise" sends an attack that has different effects depending on what colored card it draws.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Because of Tess's unusual background, Perilous Snowpath initially makes it ambiguous whether Tess really is Heimdall's ally, or if she's taking advantage of the Adjutant's friendship to spy on them. By the end of the chapter, Tess tearfully claims loyalty to Heimdall, but her complicated relationship with 𝜏 makes it unclear how long it will last.
  • Master of Illusion: One of her abilities is to cast illusions. She first tricks Joseph's Coyotes into protecting her by pretending to be the target they were hunting, and at the end of the chapter fakes a fatal injury when shot at by an Internal Affairs sniper, allowing her to slip away and rejoin the Adjutant.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Tess focuses on supporting her team's Ultimate attacks, and thus has an Ultimate that has no up-front energy cost, but drains all the energy after it finishes. Combined with her perks, and her Support Party Member kit encourages players to use two Ults at once — first Tess's, and then another's to use up the Ult energy before Tess drains it with hers.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Tess was always trying to find an opportunity to prove her loyalty to the Adjutant, despite her ties to 𝜏 and the Internal Affairs department. At the end of the chapter she gets shot by an Internal Affairs sniper to punish her disloyalty to them, but all it does is give her an excuse to give them the slip and join Heimdall more completely.
  • The Mole: As Perilous Snowpath unfolds, it's revealed that Tess is secretly working with the Internal Affairs department to spy on Heimdall, making it difficult to trust her actions, however well-meaning they are.
  • Motifs: Tess is frequently surrounded by apple images, as she's frequently shown playing with one, and also has an apple-shaped panel cut out of her clothing.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Tess has one of the slinkiest basic outfits of all the Operatives, with her cleavage and hips on display, as well as a short skirt that displays her long legs.
  • Shock and Awe: Her main damage type is Electrical Damage, though curiously, her skills can change their elemental alignment.
  • Stage Magician: She's styled as one, and does resemble a magician's assistant. Fittingly she's also a Master of Illusion and a woman with many ulterior motives that make it hard to tell if her bubbly personality is yet another act.
  • Support Party Member: Her chief function is to augment her team's Ultimates, providing both improved energy generation as well as buffs when the gauge is empty, encouraging the player to activate them as frequently as possible. Her Support skill also has a lots of utility, as it can be upgraded to support all elemental damage, and not just Electical.
  • Weapon Specialization: Tess's ideal weapon is the 5-Star "Eccentric Joker", which increases the Ult energy cap, as well as energy generation and damage output after an Ultimate is used, so long as Tess is not on the field, augmenting her Support Party Member set up. Players can also use the 4-Star "Wasp", which merely improves energy generation after an Ultimate is used.
    Eatchel Gustav

"Hunting's finished! Meat for tonight!"
Voiced by: Hina Kino (JP), Atom (CN)
Date of Birth: November 29
Age: 18
Height: 5'1
Weapon class: Shotguns

A Hybrid operative that made close contact with a Titan, the blue horns on her head are a result of experimental Titagen infusions. Eatchel was forced into exile and imprisonment after a coup led to the collapse of the Yehrus Federation and the Gustav family. Deep down, she yearns for a place of safety, to be treated as a normal human being, and for freedom.

Eatchel's Exosuit is The Cub.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: After a lifetime of being used as a test subject, the Adjutant going through hell and high water to save her from ω wins her Undying Loyalty, making her choose to fight for him in return.
  • But Now I Must Go: At the end of the three-chapter arc that makes up the Yehrus storyline, Eatchel decides to join Heimdall and leave the region, despite having legitimate claims to leadership as a Gustav.
  • Combat Medic: Eatchel blends attack and healing, with her attack skills providing healing as an aftereffect. Her ultimate also adds in attack buffs, encouraging players to proactively use her skills both bolster a team's attack as well as restore health.
  • Chained by Fashion: Chains are a recurring motif, and appear frequently as a visual in her attacks, showing how she's broken free of her imprisonment by joining Heimdall.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Besides being a shotgun user, her attack skills have her lunge at enemies with melee strikes. "Territorial Patrol" pulls them in, allowing her to make use of the "Gust of Wandering" shots that are added to her magazine afterwards, while "Savage Pounce" knocks them away, giving the active character some breathing room.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Eatchel figures heavily into the three-part Yehrus storyline, though she becomes the focal character of "Skyward Blaze", as she helps the Adjutant survive the events of the Suzdal Launch Center.
  • Fallen Princess: Her bio describes her upbringing as princess-like, before she's exiled at four years old and thrust into a terrible life. The end result is a semi-feral, barely educated girl who was tortured in a bid for godhood, and with her newfound freedom still lives a meager existence as a mutated corporate soldier.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: She exhibits unusual synergy with Titagen, allowing her to survive repeated and increasingly intense exposure to it by ω until she became a Horned Humanoid with an instinctual ability to navigate Valhalla, as well as a Titan-like alternate form.
  • MacGuffin Girl: The Yehrus arc thrusts Eatchel into a giant power struggle, as both a symbol of legitimacy in the region and ω's last-ditch attempt to salvage his predicament, meaning everyone wants a piece of her. Only the Adjutant wishes to save her out of pure altruism.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: She's positively tiny at 5'1, yet she's still a powerful Titan Hybrid, who's armed with a shotgun.
  • Rummage Sale Reject: Her generic outfit is just a sloppily worn coat and shoes worn over the tattered remains of her experimental outfit, complete with the collars and cuffs formerly used to restrain her.
  • Scary Teeth: Eatchel is depicted with jagged, shark-like teeth. As a heroic character, this emphasizes her wildness, both with her animal-like attacks, as well as her rambunctiousness in her free time.
  • Support Party Member: Eatchel is a combination of healer and buffer, with her skills providing plenty of options for health restoration, while her Ultimate, "Unyielding Rise", gives an attack bonus based on how much an active character gets healed by a persisting Icbound Claw counter.
  • Tested on Humans: She lived almost all of her current life under the scalpel and needle of Patrick Kent and the former members of the Board of Directors, ω in particular, who pumped her full of Titagen to see how to acquire immortality.
  • Two First Names: "Gustav" isn't a Russian surname. In her Base conversations, it's revealed that Leader Gustav actually had Only One Name, leading to his children adopting it as a new surname. Hence, Eatchel Gustav, the granddaughter.
  • Weapon Specialization: Her ideal 5-Star weapon is Blitzing Fangs, which gives an attack buff based on healing, giving Eatchel further personal damage. The Skyward Blaze event also awarded players with the 4-Star "Rock Python", that has a lesser buff that only triggers if the active character is healed to full.
  • Wild Child: She's partially feral after a lifetime of just being treated as a body to stuff Titagen mad science into. Her bio notes she's never had a formal education, and she tends to act like a stray that needs reining in.
