    On Spider-Man Himself
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will appear in this film.
It's pretty obvious that past Spider-Man film continuities will be part of this film. Naturally, the Maguire and Garfield versions of the webslinger will show up to help Holland Spidey against the likes of Doctor Octopus, Electro, and the Green Goblin.
  • Confirmed.

Peter won't have too much trouble clearing his name of killing Mysterio. The main problem is his identity being out there.
The first teaser trailer seems to confirm this. While Peter is arrested and interrogated, as are Ned and Aunt May and the public appears to be scorning at him, he is also seen later on freely attending school with many of his fellow students shown to look at him with awe and respect, and swinging about. However, he and his loved ones are unable to return to normal life due to his identity being revealed, which leads him to ask Dr. Strange for help, kicking off the film's main plot.

  • Jossed; the manipulative editing really works in Mysterio's favor, specially once people find out EDITH was Stark tech. Half the population really hates Spider-Man.
    • Closer to confirmed than Jossed honestly. He really doesn't have many issues clearing his name...officially. Matt Murdock made sure of that. And as we see there are still many people who do honestly look up to him. It's moreso JJJ's smear campaign that does most of the damage.

The film will end with Peter being in a Close-Enough Timeline.
Messing with the multiverse is bound to have severe consequences, even if it's mostly fixed. And the film's subtitle is No Way Home...
  • And that universe? Sony's Spider-Man Universe, setting up the inevitable throw down with Tom Hardy's Venom.
  • Meanwhile, back in the MCU, this will pave the way for Miles Morales—already hinted at in Spider-Man: Homecoming—to assume the mantle of Spider-Man.

  • Sort of, as there is no time travel and things were fixed...because everyone forgot who Peter Parker is. And for whatever reason Venom is returned from the MCU to his universe from when things are fixed, but leaving a piece of the Symbiote behind.

Peter will try having Talos or Soren disguised as him at the start as the same time as he's Spider-Man to go for the easy answer right away.
However, something goes wrong with this tactic, and ends up proving once and for all that Spidey is Peter.
  • It's pretty unlikely since (1) Talos and Soren were disguised as Nick Fury and Maria Hill and (2) there's no indication that Spider-Man knows this fact.
  • Jossed. They don't show up at all

Tom's Spider-Man won't be overshadowed by the other 2, if they appear.
Yes, we'll get to see them kick ass again. Probably for one last ride if they don't decide to do what fans are speculating and give Tobey and Andrew one more movie each. But Tom's Spidey will get to kick just as much, if not even more ass than his predecessors. To show that, while one may be great and one may be Amazing this is his movie, and his franchise now, and it's in good hands.

  • Confirmed, they do their best to let all three shine.

The spell backfiring wasn't just due to Peter interrupting
It seems...odd that a spell to erase memories could have the accidental side effect of summoning a portal into the multiverse. Maybe in the movie, Strange will explain that reality was already strained from the events of WandaVision and Loki, with Strange's spell misfiring being the straw that broke the camel's back, or somehow caused characters linked to Peter Parker to be summoned into the MCU's universe (much like how in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man's proximity to the Super-Collider caused alternate Spider-People to be summoned).
  • To be fair, the spell would probably have to be more than JUST a memory wipe. There would still be physical evidence of Peter's identity (like the video of it being revealed in the first place and the article MJ is reading in the trailer) that if left lying around could easily cause the whole thing to start all over again.
  • Jossed.

Alternatively...
When the Multiverse started to branch out at the end of Loki, after which He Who Remains couldn't predict anything that was going to happen, that was caused by Peter interfering with Doctor Strange's spell to wipe the world's memory of Spider-Man. Peter might have screwed up a lot more than he thinks.

Peter's Hero with Bad Publicity status will indirectly result in the rise of anti-Mutant propaganda
Peter’s gained his powers through genetic mutation. The events of Far From Home and, presumably, this film paint Peter as untrustworthy and dangerous, so it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine that certain portions of the populace will project that hatred onto others like him.

At one point in the movie after they fix the problems arisen from the previous movie's ending and this movie's beginning, Peter will announce that he is Spider-Man by saying "I am Spider-Man".
Without wearing the suit or any kind of mask and thus finally coming to peace with his identity being no secret and becoming a successor to Iron Man.

  • Jossed.

Peter's complaints didn't really mess up the spell
Never Trust a Trailer, and it seems too goofy to have Peter's Motor Mouth behavior cause the main conflict.
  • Lending credence to this theory is the fact that (at least in the trailer) Strange never actually blames Peter for the spell going wrong. His line about the problem being Peter trying to live 2 different lives isn't necessarily him blaming him so much as it is him saying "Hey, you wanna live a double life there are consequences."
  • Jossed.

The final scene of the film will be Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Peters reciting the classic speech
Garfield: Whatever life holds in store for me. No, for all three of us, we will never forget these words.
Maguire: With great power, comes great responsibility.
Holland: This is our gift, our curse. Who are we?
All Three: We are Spider-Man.
  • Alternatively, they will all dress in black suits and dance with Garfield and Holland admitting it is actually kinda fun.
  • Both Jossed.

The three Spideys will have the memetic web shooter exchange.
In which MCU Peter and Amazing Peter talk about each other's web-shooters, only for Raimi Peter to butt in with "You guys need web-shooters?" Because if you're gonna have all three of them in one place, you might as well make the joke while you can!

Assuming the spell does work as intended, it will be reversed before the end of the movie
Strange and MJ's lines are hammering in the fact that Peter living a double life isn't necessarily the best path to take, and trying to reset everything isn't going to work. If the spell does actually cause everyone to forget his identity, Peter will take the lesson to heart and undo it.
  • Jossed. They use it again to close the multiverse. Peter comes to terms with everyone forgetting who he is.

Either Tobey or Andrew's Spider-Man will die.
Maybe through a Heroic Sacrifice? It would give fans quite the Gut Punch, while also providing a very solid conclusion for either of their stories.
  • It will be Andrew’s Peter who dies, leading into the next WMG:
  • Partially Jossed. Tobey's Peter gets stabbed by the Green Goblin, but gets better.

Tom's Spider-Man will elect to remain in Andrew's universe.
If Andrew dies during the events of this film, Tom will go to Andrew's universe to ensure it will have a Spider-Man. Said universe turns out to be the SSU.
  • Jossed. Andrew survives and Tom stays in his universe.

Peter will ask Strange to bring back Uncle Ben and his parents.
Because if you're an all-powerful being with godly powers, you can if you want to make someone feel better. Also Strange did this in the comics, so it’s not entirely new.
  • Jossed.

Spider-Man will be blamed for the chaos going on.
While Peter is in someway responsible (messing up the spell), the public will think he did it on-purpose For the Evulz. Thus "proving" Jameson right that Spider-Man is a menace, and giving all law enforcements the right to shoot first (and detaining his loved ones against their will).

  • Kind of, as the Daily Bugle comes around just as the villains break out of Peter's hideout to smear his name further.

Peter will team up with the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man version
Since the film will be focusing on the Multiverse and Peter’s life, The two versions from both the Spider-Man Films, and The Amazing Spider-Man will likely return to team up with Peter to stop Doctor Octopus, Electro, The Green Goblin, Lizard, and Sandman.
  • Confirmed.

Spider-Man Variations that might appear in the film
Given that a few of the Spider-Man Villains from the Multiverse will be appearing in the sequel, it is likely that the rest, some, or many of them might appear to help Peter stop the villains. Also, these Spider-Man heroes are Alternate Counterparts that are from the Spiderverse.

  • Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire)
  • Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield)
  • Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman
  • Miles Morales/Spider-Man
  • Spider-Man (Miguel O’Hara)
  • Spider-Woman (Gwen Stacy)
  • Spider-Gwen
  • Peni Parker
  • Spider-Ham
  • Scarlet-Spider
  • Spider-Man Noir
  • Spider-Girl
  • Spider-Girl (Mayday Parker)
  • Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
  • Spider-Man (Gerry Drew)
  • Golden Spongecake (Spider-Man)
  • Lady-Spider
  • Spider-Monkey
  • Supaidāman (Takuya Yamashiro)
  • Spider-Woman (May Parker)
  • Spider-Girl (Betty Brant)
  • Spider-Girl (Penelope Parker)
  • Arácnido Jr.
  • Spiderling
  • Silk
  • Spider-Girl (Anya Corazon)
  • Spider-Punk
  • Spider-Man 2099
  • Spinneret
  • The Spider
  • Cosmic Spider-Man
  • First two confirmed, all the rest Jossed.

Andrew's Spider-Man could comfort Tom if someone important dies in the movie.
A character is likely to die in this installment, but it could be anyone. From Ned, to Flash, to MJ, to Aunt May, to Happy or another important character in Peter's life. Andrew could comfort Tom when this occurs by explaining how in his universe he lost the love of his life and that no matter how terrible loss can be you can never give into despair. Andrew could help Tom through empathy and Andrew's Spider-Man could finally get closure himself.
  • Confirmed. Actually, Tobey's Spider-Man does this as well. Both Peters come along with Ned and MJ to comfort MCU Peter at the rooftop from the second trailer to comfort him after Aunt May's death.

Spider-Man will see the Multiverse
At some point in the film, Spider-Man will catch a glimpse of the full multiverse. It will be depicted the same way it's shown in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the cosmic webs holding all creation together.
  • Confirmed, sort of. Towards the end, when Strange's spell starts going haywire, large purple tears start opening up across the New York sky. No signs of the cosmic web, though.

The version of Peter from the PlayStation franchise will make a cameo
They are both Sony properties, and they are doing the multiverse anyway, so why not?
  • Jossed.

The Raimi-verse Peter Parker will have back issues.
In Spider-Man 2, we see Peter Parker injure his back while attempt to recreate his first jump from the first film (and fans know that Raimi had him say "My back" as a reference to the real life back injury that Tobey Maguire suffered before the filming of the sequel, which almost lead to him being recasted for the role with Jake Gyllenhaal being considered). To continue on with the gag, Maguire's Peter Parker will be suffering back issues, possibly from some of the fights he's had to deal with after the third film, to which both Garfield and Holland's Parkers will have to help him with during a couple of the fights.
  • Confirmed. Tobey's Peter complains to Andrew's about his backpain from swinging too much. Andrew's Peter reveals he too has some back problems and helps him fix his back.

The result of fixing the multiverse invasion is that (mostly) everyone does actually forget about Spider-man
MCU Spider-man has been very linked to the Avengers, Iron Man and Stark Tech to the point that he cannot exist as a simple, small-scale friendly neighborhood hero. As a part of fixing the multiverse issues in the movies, Peter is "reset" back to just being a kid with only his own gear. This allows future Spider-man films to not be subject to the giant stakes escalation of the greater MCU. Someone like Doctor Strange might still remember Peter, which leaves an opening for Peter to still get called up to show up in team-ups.
  • Partially confirmed. Everyone forgets him. And Peter makes his own suit.

The in-universe explanation for why Spider-Man can't sense Venom
This also ties into a theory I have about the supposed Lizard scene in the trailer being a stand in for Venom. He sneaks up behind Peter. Wouldn't his Spider Sense trigger if there was imminent danger directly behind him? Yes his spidey sense has been WILDLY inconsistent so far. But not THAT inconsistent. We've seen glimpses of it in the past. Now, my theory is it's actually VENOM sneaking up behind Peter (not to harm him, see a previous WMG for what I think is going on.) As for why he can't sense him despite never having encountered him before, it's because he's from another universe. Hence, he can't sense him. Yes this CAN overlap with the other multiverse villains, but maybe it's specific to symbiotes. Also, Tobey's Peter will see Hardy's Venom and go "Eddie?" with Andrew's making a quip about him being bigger in this universe, with Tom saying "I've never seen that thing before in my life!"
  • Jossed. The reason he doesn't sense them is because they aren't even in the same country as him.

Tobey Maguire will be playing Uncle Ben as Spider-Man
He will be from a Flashpoint-esque universe where he got bitten by the Spider instead, accompanying Peter on the fateful field trip, and Peter would have been the one who got shot by the robber.
  • Jossed. Tobey Maguire is still Peter Parker.

The universes merge in with the MCU and Toby and Andrew are stuck and decide to take new names; Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker
No evidence really, but it would be a cool way for it to end.
  • Jossed. Both alternate Spidermen go back to their own universes by the end.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will appear in the movie as villains
They did not get spoiled yet because they are in the Movie, But NOT as their original incarnations. Instead they come from another parallel timeline and are evil variants.
  • Jossed, their Spidermen are as heroic as ever.

Peter will say “Who am I? I’m Spider-Man.” at the end
Or some variant of the phrase if this turns out to be Tom Holland’s last appearance as Spidey.

  • Jossed - and what a missed opportunity.

Many of Tom Holland's scenes in the trailers are Foiler Footage, and will be replaced with Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield in the finished product
There is one specific scene in a few TV spots where Peter says "This is my fault. I can't save all of them", while his face is partially obscured in shadow and his hair looks much more similar to the style Garfield's Peter had (even when messy, MCU Peter's hair has always maintained its general shape, in this scene his hair is swept upward and parted, like TASM Peter). This and other scenes (possibly scenes in the Iron Spider or Stealth Suits) could have been filmed with the other two actors, with Holland added in with CGI specifically for the trailers (which would hardly be the first time Marvel Studios has done such a thing).

  • Kind of - just like someone noticed that in a trailer Lizard is punched by air, there are some scenes that erase the other two.

MCU Peter's attempts to spare the villains will give the other Peters motivation to try and reform their respective villains.

Kind of, they go along with his idea, if only to get back to their homes.

Peter will sympathize with the Multiverse Villains
Despite battling them during the Multiversal Battle, he is shown to feel bad for them when Strange tells him that each of them (except Lizard and Sandman) died while battling two of the Spider-Man, and refuses to let them end up in the same fates.

  • Confirmed in that he decides to not let them return just to die, no matter how Stupid Good this idea is.

Peter is going to save his Multiverse Enemies
Despite the villains from the Multiverse battling him, he refused to let them die again in the trailer when Strange explained to him about their fates.
  • Confirmed.

The Black Spider-Man is an Alternate Version of Peter from the Multiverse
It would be weird for it to turn out to be Peter in both costumes, given that Peter is shown in his original costume battling Electro, Lizard, and Sandman. but it is possible that he may be helping him stop the Multiverse Villains.
  • Jossed. It's just MCU Peter with the suit turned inside out.

MCU Peter Parker will be Killed Off for Real
He will either succumb to his wounds after final battle or sacrifice himself to save the day. It's actually tempting to show a movieverse where Spider-Man actually "didn't make it". And about Tom Holland's future as character, he can always play another version of Peter Parker (for example - native to Sony's Spider-Man Universe).
  • Seems unlikely since a second trilogy was confirmed for Spidey. Although I think they also talked about him making some appearances in the Sony Universe in a certain way.
  • Jossed. MCU Peter survives to the end of the movie.

The film ends with Peter unintentionally and retroactively causing the MCU version of these villains to exist
As a sort of way to repair itself after the villains are sent home, the universe sort of creates versions of Norman Osborn, Otto Octavius and the rest. They will end up giving Peter trouble at some point in the future.

The film will end with Peter stuck in a different universe
Given that a fourth Spider-Man has been confirmed, meaning that the film will end with Peter stuck in a different universe, which will make a Sequel Hook to the fourth film.
  • I don't think so, as the plans for his next trilogy seem to say he'll stay in the main MCU.

The film DID end with Peter stuck in a different universe, but he doesn't know it.
The spell didn't make everyone forget - it simply shifted Peter to a different universe which is VERY SIMILAR to the one he left, but with everyone not knowing who spiderman is. Events took place before he arrived which make this universe match the one he left, but without anyone knowing who Spider-Man is. Unknown to anyone, the Spidey in this universe is dead and our Peter took his place without missing a beat.
  • This should neatly cover up any issues that come up with how the spell worked, etc.

The Spider-Man with the black and gold suit is Peter from an alternate universe and is the Big Bad of the film
The merchandising has been pretty vague about what the suit is. Tom Holland’s explanation is that Peter got paint on his suit and had to wear it inside out, but that sounds pretty hokey. We see Spidey using Doctor Strange’s magic wearing that suit, so my theory is that he’s actually Peter from an alternate universe. In his universe, Strange refused to help him, so after losing everything, Peter snaps and kills Strange so he can fix things himself, but he ends up causing the Multiverse going crazy.
  • Seems unlikely a bit.
  • Jossed. It is, in fact, just MCU Peter wearing the suit inside-out.

Peter will finally be proven innocent as a Hero by saving everyone
Given that he is planning on rescuing everyone while stopping the villains, it is possible that if he tries to help by saving everyone, his publicity as a Hero will make him innocent.

  • Jossed.

    Rogues Gallery
Mac Gargan will reappear as Scorpion in the film.
If not as a major threat, as a post-credits tease of a future Spider-Man outing.

  • Jossed. He appears as a silhouette in a dimensional tear, but not in detail.

The film will feature the Sinister Six, and Rhino will be the final member of the team.
Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Electro are all confirmed via trade reports, and Sandman and the Lizard were both explicitly hinted at, so there's one more villain that they could use to bring the baddies in this movie up to six in total. They've got plenty of time to give Tom Holland his own Sinister Six, but since this is a celebration of all the Spider-Man movies that came before, and they only have two movies with multiple supervillains — Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 — they have 4 options.

3 of these can be ruled out; Topher Grace's Venom isn't likely to appear to avoid brand confusion with Tom Hardy's take, James Franco isn't returning as the New Goblin due to his history of reported sexual harassment issues that Disney and Sony would probably like to avoid, and Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin would likely feel redundant with Willem Dafoe's version in the film. That leaves Paul Giamatti's Rhino as the last potential candidate, who was barely featured in his movie and was more of a set-up for a sequel that ultimately didn't happen.

All this would allow for a diverse lineup of antagonists from previous Spider-Man movies with unique skills and memorable personalities. Combine this with an above WMG, and if true, then this can lead to something else...

  • Jossed; the sixth villain, Venom, only appears in The Stinger, and it's Tom Hardy's version.

Because if you've got everyone here, then, well, why not?

Either the Doc Ock we see won't be a villain, or another will appear (still played by Alfred Molina) who isn't.
Doc Ock died a hero in Spider-Man 2, redeemed, but seen by the world as the man who almost destroyed the city. Maybe that caused him to turn evil again when he was brought back. Or maybe this is a different Doc Ock and the one we know will show up to help the heroes. Would be nice to see him be a hero again. Maybe bring back Franco's Harry Goblin to fight his dad? Just a thought
  • If this is a different Doc Ock, then he could be a variant who didn't perform the Heroic Sacrifice and continues being a criminal.

  • Jossed... but he reforms.

Most of the returning villains that appear are actually trying to help Peter, not hurt him.
Most of the returning rogues are either people Spider-Man helped (Doc Ock, Lizard) or were never really that bad to begin with (Sandman). Really all they want to do is get back home, but have to deal with the chaos caused by Goblin and Electro and possibly a Not Quite Dead Mysterio.

  • Jossed, as only Sandman, being an Anti-Villain, is not hostile to Peter upon first contact (although the first to find Lizard is Doctor Strange). And only Doc Ock reforms along the way.

Adding to the previous theory, Peter's encounter with this Doc Ock will set him up for tragedy in a later film.
Meeting this redeemed, post Spider-Man 2 Otto (or possibly an Otto that was never corrupted in the first place) will heavily influence Peter’s respect and admiration of his universe’s own Octavius (whether it be a version of Otto, Liv or someone else) when he eventually meets them. When that Octavius gets their arms, Peter will expect them to be an important ally like the Raimi Otto was here, and he still feels shocked and betrayed when they become a villain and try to kill him.

Tom Holland's Peter Parker will not learn the real identities of the multiverse villains.
He may see them unmasked, but he won’t learn their real names or why they became villains in the first place. This will leave the possibility open for Peter to form meaningful relationships with his universe’s own versions of these characters (who will be played by different actors) without the foresight that they’ll go down the same path.
  • Jossed. The second trailer shows Otto introducing himself with his full name. Peter even asks if he's joking, since it's so ridiculous sounding.

Both Green Goblin and Sandman will play major roles in the MCU after this film
These villains left an impact on the larger Marvel Universe at large in the comics—Osborn became one of the most dangerous villains in the universe, particularly during the Dark Reign, while Sandman wound up joining the Avengers.
  • Jossed. They're sent back to their own universe.

Sandman will be an ally in this film
We know that in his debut film, Marko was a Tragic Villain, and was forgiven by Peter at the end. If that's the case, it's reasonable that he makes an official Heel–Face Turn here; he can also join the Avengers in the future (as detailed above).
  • A brief shot in the trailer seems to lean towards this, with a giant wall of sand rising in front of Peter just before Electro’s lightning can strike him. Perhaps he’ll be the Token Good Teammate of the Sinister Six?
  • Alternatively, the other villains might be holding his daughter hostage and/or claim to have a cure for her illness, so he could be a reluctant Token Good Teammate for her sake.

  • Only in the first scene. Once he notices the Spider-Man isn't the one he met, he somewhat sours on Peter. And when Electro gets teleported away, he thinks Peter killed him and attacks.

Doctor Octopus will also be an ally in this film
At the end of Spider-Man 2 Otto Octavius realised what he was doing was wrong and gave his life to help save the city he nearly destroyed. Since Alfred Molina has confirmed that the Doctor Octopus in this movie is the same one from Spider-Man 2, with his story picking up directly from his supposed death at the end of that movie, it might be that he's willing to listen to and help a Peter Parker from a different reality.

  • Confirmed, but it takes removing the tentacles' control over him.

If Ned does become Hobgoblin, he'll have Adaptational Heroism
Marvel's Spider-Man did Hobgoblin as a hero, and between the Mysterio Fallout and the multiverse stuff, a Face–Heel Turn story for Ned would risk overloading the film.
  • Alternatively, the villains could capture Ned and use Mysterio's tech to create an illusion that makes him resemble the comic-book Hobgoblin, in a bid to trick Peter into attacking his friend.
  • Or, it's a Variant of Ned who's genuinely villainous, but will use Peter's friendship with this Ned to torment him.
  • Jossed, he instead has magical powers like Dr. Strange and he promises not to become a supervillain.

Otto isn't greeting MCU Peter...
He's talking to Tobey's Peter. While the trailer makes it look like he's confronting MCU Spidey, he's actually reuniting with his world's Spidey, hence why he sounds oddly friendly when he says the line.
  • Jossed by the second trailer. MCU Spidey unmasks during the fight and Otto doesn't recognize him as Peter.

Sandman and the Lizard won't be seen in any human form during the film.
In spite of all the leaks, we haven't caught a whiff of either Thomas Haden Church or Rhys Ifans having been on set. That's because they weren't — Sandman and Lizard will only appear through CGI in their more monstrous forms. Church or Ifans could still provide voice work; if not, they'll have no lines or be voiced by soundalikes.
  • Something similar could happen with Paul Giamatti reprising Aleksei Sytsevich, but only in his Rhino suit so we just hear the character's voice. It seems strange, after all, to be sitting at five villains when Spider-Man is famous for going up against the Sinister Six. This would also even up the villain count to three from each of the previous film series.

  • Jossed, but it takes both taking a healing serum. That said their human forms appearances are Stock Footage from Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man.

As a form of Book Ends to the trilogy, Vulture will reappear to make an Enemy Mine with Peter
Ever since Spider-Man's secret identity was exposed by Mysterio, Vulture has been on the run for keeping the secret from his fellow criminals and offers his assistance to help Peter stop the other-dimensional villains and clear his name. Peter will be reluctant due to him nearly getting killed by Toomes for getting in the way of his plans, but he'll be desperate enough to receive the help of one of his enemies to set things right.

  • Jossed.

Vulture won't appear because he was killed offscreen
The opposite of the previous entry will happen. Toomes was approached in prison and asked who Spider-Man was and Toomes, showing loyalty to Peter for saving him and his daughter, kept Peter's secret. Once word gets out that Toomes knows exactly who he was, he's a dead man. When Peter finds out, he's already feeling guilty for ruining MJ's, Ned's and Aunt May's lives for being associated with him, but finding out Toomes was killed because of him will be the final push Peter needs to go to Doctor Strange to erase his exposed identity from the public.

  • Jossed (and Toomes in the trailer for Morbius shows they're not ready to get rid of Vulture).

If Otto is addressing Tobey's Peter.
His next line will be something along the lines of "I see you've made some... colorful friends in my absence." if the other two Peters are with him.
  • Jossed. He's addressing MCU Peter.

Potential reasons for why Doctor Octopus is still alive.
  • They are retconning the ending of Spider-Man 2 to be that Peter saved him, that he saved himself, etc.
  • This isn't the Raimiverse, but rather a close approximate, similar to the villains from Rainbow Rocket in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. In this case, Peter may have failed to help Otto come to terms with his mistakes (hence why the tentacles are still red).
  • Dr. Strange's spell opens a portal and/or teleports Otto out of the East River just before he can fully drown.
  • Given that we know Electro's going to be making a return, it may be that an incident involving his powers may have seriously futzed with the AI in the tentacles - and given that we can assume the inhibitor chip is still busted, this extends to Doc Ock himself.

These can overlap.

  • Kind of the third - as somehow Ock was removed from a moment before, or during, the final battle of Spider-Man 2.

The Sinister Six will appear.
With all of the villains from all the different Spider-Man movies appearing. It's possible they'll team up to take down their common enemy.

  • Jossed, unfortunadely the sixth possible member (Venom) is reduced to The Stinger.

Possible Sinister Six members.
  • Green Goblin
  • Dr Octopus
  • Sandman
  • Lizard
  • Electro
  • Shocker

  • First five were in, but no Sinister Six.

The Sinister Six won't appear.
That's being saved for a later film, with membership likely limited to villains from the MCU. In this film, they're simply using one villain from each of the pre-MCU films, which just so happens to be five.
  • And if, as the footage hints, Sandman is actually the Token Good Teammate, this neatly sets up a 1:1 final showdown with the three Spideys and Sandman versus Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Lizard, and Electro. And if either Vulture or Mysterio does show up to make it five villains, Dr. Strange will fill in the gap on the heroes' side.

  • Confirmed as there are only five villains. And when they team up it's just four.

Doctor Octopus is not actually Doctor Octopus
He is Ralph Bohner's cousin being mind-controlled to think he is Doctor Octopus. Anything stated by Alfred Molina is a case of Lying Creator.

Jossed.

Green Goblin will have a seriously upgraded arsenal in this movie
Unlike in the original movie, where he only used Pumpkin Bombs (and at one point a version that vaguely resembled his "Razor-Bat" weapons), here he'll have some weapons used by his comics counterpart: Electro-Blast Gloves, "Ghost" smoke bombs, maybe even the Sonic Toads.

Jossed, it's the same arsenal from Spider-Man.

The villains from other franchises aren't quite the characters from those universes.
It's been well publicized that Electro will not be blue. Ock looks a little bit different, plus his hair darker and slightly curlier, not to mention he has no reason to continue a criminal career after Spider-Man 2. Alfred Molina has said it's the same character, but he might have misunderstood, or is outright lying given how tightlipped Marvel is with actual story leaks for the MCU. Perhaps these aren't the characters plucked from those exact timelines, but versions from other universes created by Peter messing with the multiverse, similar to the concept of variants explained in Loki.

  • Jossed, they were plucked from the Raimi and Webb movies.

Mysterio will be Back from the Dead, thanks to the spell backfiring.
Mysterio finds out that Peter's trying to undo what he did in Far From Home and will try to stop Peter.

  • Jossed.
The Lizard will have a more lizard-like design as in the comic books than his design from The Amazing Spider-Man.
It has been said that Electro and Green Goblin will have different designs from their past versions (Electro will be yellow and green, not blue, and Green Goblin will have purple clothes, an animatronic mask, and his purple hat, as was the case in the makeup tests from Sam Raimi's version). As such, the Lizard probably will have a different design than his past version, sporting his reptilian snout and his characteristic lab coat.
  • Additionally, he might resemble his appearance in the Spider-Man 3 game, where he was more lizard-like. And if it's the Sam Raimi version, then he'll be played by Dylan Baker.

  • Jossed.

Some of the villains will only fight Peter in weird overlaps in reality where they see him as the Spider-Man they know

  • Jossed, though they eventually meet their own Spider-Men.

Sandman will help Peter stop the villains
Given that Sandman has redeemed himself after being forgiven by Peter, it is possible that he may help Spider-Man on stopping the villains.

  • Jossed, though he does shield him from Electro upon first contact.

Doctor Octopus will help Peter stop the villains
Given that Doctor Octopus has redeemed himself by sacrificing his love to save the citizens, it is possible that he may help Spider-Man on stopping the villains.

  • Confirmed.

One of Spider-Man’s enemies will be the Big Bad
Given that Vulture was one on Homecoming, and Mysterio was one in Far From Home, it may be the Green Goblin.

The Villains will be freed from the Multiverse thanks to Peter
Given that the Villains are shown to appear in the trailer, which means imply freed from their universes, thanks to Peter stopping Strange.

  • They were taken from their universes, and return upon the ending.

Villains that might appear in the film
Given that Spider-Man’s other villains may be implied to be also appearing in the film, any of them might appear in the film during part of the multiverse, in prison, or from somewhere else.

  • Venom
  • Rhino
  • Hydro-Man
  • Vulture
  • Scorpion
  • Hobgoblin
    • Except, it will be an alternate version of him.
  • Tombstone
  • Kraven the Hunter
  • Molten Man
  • Hammerhead
  • Silver Sable
  • Chameleon
  • Morbius
  • Black Cat
  • The New Goblin/Harry Osborn
  • Red Goblin
  • The Green Goblin/Norma Osborn
  • Beetle
  • Jackal
  • Scorpia
  • Iron Spider
  • Bombshell
  • Spot
  • Morlun

  • Just Venom (the Tom Hardy one) appears. And Rhino is mentioned.

Mysterio (either alive or revived) will try to form the Sinister Six with the other villains
He will try to recruit the villains in order to take down Peter as part of his charade of being a hero, complete with his own version of the Avengers. This will backfire given the villains' malice and lack of regard for property damage, inadvertently exposing him as a fraud and ending up with either Otto or Osborn killing him off for real when he tries to interfere.

  • Jossed.

The villains are back...
Because they won. Each one is still evil or at the very least alive because they're from alternate universes where they got the upper hand and killed their Spider-Man. This mostly goes for the Raimi villains as they (besides Sandman) died in their respective movies while the Amazing Spider-Man villains survived (debatably in Electro's case; he was incinerated but he's also living electricity).
  • This also explains how Doc Ock could still be a villain; having killed Spider-Man, he had no motivation to reform at the last minute.

  • Jossed, they are back because they were plucked from their universes - before their deaths in Goblin, Octopus and Electro's cases.

Tinkerer will return
He will be tracked down and captured by the villains so he can give them MCU tech upgrades under duress.

  • Jossed. He's never even mentioned.

The second stinger for the film
It will be Spider-Man interrupting a crime in progress, only for said criminals to be yanked into the darkness, and a familiar set of teeth smiling back at him.
Venom: Hello, Spider.
Spider-Man: Who... Who are you?
Venom: We... are Venom, and we... need to talk.
Spider-Man: About what?
Venom: There is someone who is assembling a team, for a mission. She wants you, and us.
Spider-Man: She? Who is she?note

Spider-Man will return in "Spider Wars"...

  • Jossed, Venom is in the first stinger. The second is a trailer for ''Doctor Strange'.

Flash Thompson will become the Venom of the MCU
He will cross paths with the Venom symbiote (or at least a piece of it) and become its host.
  • Door is open for it!
  • Also, if it bonds with Peter before Flash, this is how he will regain his memories of "Penis Parker".

Mysterio will be in the film...
But portrayed by Bruce Campbell, not Jake Gyllenhaal. It has been long known that Sam Raimi had sought Campbell to play Mysterio in his planned Spider-Man 4 before its cancellation. That idea can be used here as Campbell portraying Mysterio from an alternate universe – possibly the Raimi-verse, as one of the villains fought by Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man in the interim between Spider-Man 3 and this film. This history can be established in a big fight scene where Tobey's Spidey and Campbell's Mysterio encounter each other. Also, if Campbell's Mysterio is more publicly destructive and villainous than Gyllenhaal's, that could provide a neat way for Tom Holland's Spidey to be exonerated and restore his good reputation.

Venom is the sixth member of the Sinister Six.
At the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Eddie and the symbiote seemingly get teleported to another universe in escaping and they see the broadcast of Jameson revealing Peter's identity and his connection to Mysterio's death. He'll most likely want to be pointed in that direction.

Venom will fight Spider-Man but will become an ally later.
As revealed at the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Venom is teleported to the MCU universe and sees the broadcast of Mysterio's "murder" by Peter. As a result they'll fight for a bit so Venom can get the rest of his iconic appearance and powerset, but afterward it will be revealed that Peter is innocent and Venom will aid Spidey against the Sinister Six for the rest of the movie.

Venom will appear only briefly and get disposed of in a Curb-Stomp Battle.
The Spider-Men will defeat him easily, after which Dr. Strange will send him back to his own universe via a portal; they might even kill Venom himself beforehand, leaving only a tiny piece on Eddie to regenerate, in a Break the Haughty moment for the arrogant and murderous symbiote. This will be done to not over-stuff the movie, thus avoiding another The Amazing Spider-Man 2 situation.

Venom will ALMOST kill Spider-Man.
After finding themselves in MCU Universe Eddie in Venom will confront Peter Parker. It's possible that this version of Venom is strong enough to actually overpower Spider-Man, but before he will be able o eat Peter, he will be send back to his own universe by Strange.

Venom, whether he appears in the film proper or the stinger. Won't fight Spider-Man, at least not yet.
Instead, he'll get separated from Eddie again, and bond with Peter. Peter will eventually grow horrified with Venom's homicidal tendencies. Leading to him rejecting the symbiote and it scurrying back to Eddie. Leading to it performing a Face–Heel Turn and, if it sticks around, becoming the Arch-Nemesis we all know.

  • Confirmed, though because like in the ending of Let There Be Carnage, he's very far from New York.

No Way Home's post credit scene will feature Eddie Brock and lead to a Sony and Marvel Studios joint production for a Venom Vs. Spider-Man film
The movie's ambitious premise and rumored cast of characters from multiple different incarnations of the web-head almost leaves no room to introduce Tom Hardy's Venom and Eddie Brock in a proper and fitting manner for the character and the Spidey/Venom rivalry. A post credits scene dedicated to the lethal protector would be much more appropriate to setting up the two character's much anticipated rematch since Spider-Man 3 almost 15 years ago. The scene itself could be Eddie being hired by the MCU's incarnation of the Daily Bugle, the two doing more research on and/or stalk Peter himself, or more wildly, the Venom symbiote latching on to Pete as the trilogy's last "What the fu-" moment.

  • Kind of - Venom appears, is yanked back to his world, and leaves a piece of the Symbiote behind.

The Villains Will Return to their Timelines at the point of their death.
Green Goblin's will be shown, including the 'oh' of surprise before he's impaled by his glider.

  • They vanish, but whether things go back as destiny planned so in their home universes upon return is unclear.

Similar to his Heroic Sacrifice in Spider-Man 2, Doc Ock will be the one to send himself and the villains back to their worlds, at the cost of his life
Bonus points if it's framed like that exact scene in Spider-Man 2.

Topher Grace's Venom was summoned by Peter messing up Dr. Strange's spell...
But ran into Tom Hardy's Venom and was Killed Offscreen, with Hardy's Venom absorbing the Raimiverse Venom symbiote and gaining a spider emblem.
  • Jossed. Hardy's Venom spent his time catching up on what happened in the MCU.

If Doc Ock sides with Peter against the rest of the villains he will be killed by the Green Goblin
Serving as a Mythology Gag to Doc Ock's fate in Ultimate Spider-Man.

  • Jossed, he survives.

Mysterio's crew will be arrested for what they did in Far From Home
When Peter's innocence is proven, it will be cathartic to see them in cuffs or even placed behind bars after pulling a Karma Houdini.
  • Or perhaps only some will be arrested while others will escape and potentially become the MCU versions of certain Spider-Man villains yet to be put to film, like the Jackal.

  • Jossed, people never even consider the possibility that it was a piece of Manipulative Editing to smear Peter Parker's name and thus Beck's crew ended up as Karma Houdinis.

The "they" that are starting to come through are the Inheritors.
If we do have multiple Spider-Men, it would make sense for them to come hunting.

  • Jossed, it's just people from all over the multiverse who know Spider-Man.

The Villains survived due to being freed from the Portals
Well, how else would they somehow be alive in the film? They would've been brought back by being freed from each of the dimension portals.

  • Jossed, the ones who died were taken before they perished.

The Villains will be surviving by staying alive
Given that Peter is planning on saving the alternate villains from suffering the same fate, and near the end of the film, they will stay alive while surviving the battle.

  • Confirmed.

Villains that might appear in the film
Despite that all five of the villains will be from both the Spider-Man Trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man Duology, other villains from the film might appear in the threequel film.

  • The New Goblin (Spider-Man Trilogy)
    • Except, he will be appearing as a cameo
  • Venom (Spider-Man Trilogy)
  • Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man)
    • While his powers are confirmed to be yellow, it is heavily implied that he will be the same one from The Amazing Spider-Man Trilogy.
  • Green Goblin (The Amazing Spider-Man)
  • Rhino (The Amazing Spider-Man)
  • Vulture
  • Scorpion/Mac Gargan
  • Mysterio’s Crew
  • Venom (Venom)
  • Doctor Octopus (The Amazing Spider-Man)
  • Kraven the Hunter (The Amazing Spider-Man)
  • Sandman (The Amazing Spider-Man)
  • Vulture (The Amazing Spider-Man)
  • Black Cat (The Amazing Spider-Man)
  • Scorpia (The Amazing Spider-Man)
  • Venom (The Amazing Spider-Man)
  • Vulture (Spider-Man Trilogy)
  • Black Cat (Spider-Man Trilogy)

  • Only Electro and Tom Hardy's Venom appear.

The Green Goblin wearing goggles in the trailer is Harry Osborn
It would be strange for Norman to wear two different versions of the suit in one movie, and given how big the cast is, spending screentime on him changing up his outfit would seem like a waste. Either James Franco or Dane DeHaan will return to the role, but weren't part of the initial announcement due to Harry's role in the plot being a spoiler.
  • Jossed, at least on the "Harry on the glider" front. A 4K screenshot from the trailer reveals that it's Norman on the glider, wearing his damaged outfit that was previously revealed in a Content Leak. However, this does not completely rule out a return for Harry.

The New Goblin/Harry Osborn will return
He was briefly shown in the trailer with his goggles while on his glider, presumably battling Peter.
  • Jossed, at least on the evidence front. A 4K screenshot from the trailer reveals that it's Norman on the glider, wearing his damaged outfit that was previously revealed in a Content Leak.

The goggles and hood Goblin is really...
A variant of Norman Osborne who became Hobgoblin instead.
In a related vein...

  • Jossed, it's regular Goblin, it's just that he broke the mask.

The real ASM 2 Electro will also appear.
He's attacked and drained until there's No Body Left Behind to fuel MCU Electro as a Take That!.

  • Jossed, it's just that his body is reformed to regular Jamie Foxx.

The Lizard will reuse some dialogue from the deleted scenes from The Amazing Spider-Man.
For example, the Lizard will, at some point, say to Holland's Peter, "Would you go back? After everything you know you can do? All the power you feel?"
  • Jossed.

Sandman and the Lizard join Goblin, Electro, and Ock because of Doctor Strange.
They believe they will die at Spider-Man's hands and, given that Marko has a daughter to go back to and Connors presumably hasn't seen his dream of "helping" humanity through yet, they wish to stop this from happening. Andrew and Tobey's Peter Parkers will tell their respective villains the truth of what happens in their final confrontation, which will stop them from attacking.

  • Kind of - the ones who die in combat do learn about it. But otherwise the struggle with the Spider-Men still happen.

Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, and Electro will serve as the Big Bad Ensemble of the film
Given that these three villains are going to return in the threequel, they may be set up as the three main antagonists given that they are going to be fighting the MCU Spider-Man in the film.

  • Add Lizard and Sandman. Though once they team up, it's without Octopus.

Harry Osborn is going to be mentioned by The Green Goblin
Despite the possibility of him not being returned despite the costume his father is wearing, The Green Goblin is likely going to mention Harry while battling Spider-Man.

  • Only Tobey's Spider-Man mentions Harry.

  • Actually semi-confirmed, as it appears to becoming from Norman rather than the Goblin. When talking to MCU Peter and Aunt May in the F.E.A.S.T facility, Norman says he couldn’t find any evidence that a version of himself or his son existed in the MCU.

The Green Goblin is going to battle Peter in his upgraded costume
During the battle, he will show his upgraded costume to Peter, while battling him.

  • He does, but there isn't much showing off.

Doctor Octopus is going to battle a Villain
He was shown falling off from what appears to be an apartment, with lightning, meaning he is going to battle Electro.

  • Confirmed. Four of them, in fact.

The Green Goblin is going to battle Spider-Man after being freed from the Multiverse
Since one of his pumpkin bombs we’re shown glowing, he may likely battle Peter, while Doctor Octopus is chasing him.

  • Confirmed.

Spider-Man will convince Doctor Octopus, Lizard and/or Sandman to redeem themselves.
Peter is refusing to let them die and is planning on saving them, so he may encourage them to redeem themselves by saving the world.

  • He redeems Octopus, by again breaking the tentacles' control.

Sandman, Lizard and/or Electro will regret his actions
They all may have a My God, What Have I Done? \ Heel Realization moment on regretting their actions as villains during the film, as Sandman felt bad about killing Uncle Ben, Lizard didn't want to hurt anyone and Electro just wanted to have friends..

  • Partially jossed / partially confirmed - Sandman starts as the same Anti-Villain, but somehow sours along the way. When Electro loses his powers he and Garfield's Spider-Man have a heart to heart and he seems regretful for the path he's taken, and Norman Osborn gets cured completely and loses the Goblin part of his psyche and is left now alone to feel the horror and regret of his actions as Goblin,

Doctor Octopus, Lizard and/or Sandman will have a Heel–Face Turn.
Given that they all did one in their respective movies, they may do another one in the film once Peter convinces him that he is trying to save him from suffering the same fate.
  • Confirmed for Ock. Sandman and Lizard sort of, but it's more that they went back to good after being evil for a while.

The Green Goblin will give a Villain Has a Point Speech to Peter
Despite taunting him presumably during his battle with MCU Spider-Man, he may be right about something that might happen during the film.
  • It'll be similar to his speech in the 2002 movie, about how everyone rejects Spider-Man and how the only way he'll be redeemed is if he dies trying to save everyone.
  • Confirmed he remarks how Peter's desire to save them led to catastrophes in the film.

The villains are aware of what was their original fate.
Doc Ock says that Spidey is fighting ghosts (The villains are Back from the Dead - As in, ghosts), Green Goblin says that the world is trying to make Spidey choose (probably between saving the villains or saving countless innocent lives) while Electro doesn't want Spidey to take away something from him (his life). Fittingly enough, Lizard and Sandman, the ones that weren't killed in their worlds, never say something like this.

  • Jossed; they learn about it from the other villains.

Green Goblin and Electro will be in a Big Bad Duumvirate or Big Bad Ensemble.
Doctor Octopus might pull a Heel–Face Turn giving that he's seen having a friendly talk with the heroes in some scenes, Sandman isn't really a proper villain and might pull another Heel–Face Turn (on top of being the overall Token Good Teammate between the villains), while Lizard is just not given enough attention. Green Goblin and Electro are always seen as directly antagonistic towards Spider-Man, never redeemed themselves, and given that they were killed, they certainly have a reason to be angry at the spider.

  • Confirmed, with Lizard and Sandman added.

Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus will be killed off/send back to their universe before the others.
Wee see Sandman, the Lizard and Electro together in one place, ready to fight Spider-Man together, while the Goblin and Doc Ock are nowhere to be seen.

  • Jossed, no villains die before being sent back.

Electro will first appear in his blue design from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
His redesign will be related to the arc reactor he has in the trailers.

  • Jossed, he only appears in electricity form before somehow restoring to a regular (i.e not the nerdy Max Dillon look) Jamie Foxx.

There is a reason Norman Osborn’s face isn’t being shown in the trailers.
We have seen Electro and Doc Ock “unmasked”, but Green Goblin has only been shown with his face at least partially covered. Perhaps his face was somehow disfigured in his universe? Perhaps we won’t see his face at all so Peter will not initially recognize the Norman Osborn of the MCU when they meet? In any case, whether it’s to cover up a reveal or for other story-related reasons, it’s no coincidence that we have not seen Willem Dafoe’s face in the trailers.
  • Jossed. We see his face in a few TV spots, and he looks pretty fine.

Doctor Octopus is the Big Bad.
He's given the most attention, and Doc Ock is generally the leader of the Sinister Six.

  • Jossed, of the five villains Goblin is the "leader".

Sandman and Lizard have very minor roles when compared to the others.
That's why Electro, Goblin and Doc Ock have more spotlight when compared to them in all the promotional materia.

  • Kind of with Lizard. But Sandman appears a fair bit.

Sandman's return to villainy
Here's a dark theory about why the Sandman has reverted back to villainy. Following the events of Spider-Man 3, Flint Marko tried to return to his family, but Penny died due to her illness, just like the originally filmed ending of that film suggested would happen. Now Flint wants to kill Spider-Man again because he feels that had he not been delayed by Spidey, Penny would be still alive.

  • Jossed. He somehow sours on Spider-Man after being discovering it's not his Spider-Man and being held captive.

The symbiote is back
But not the one from Tom Hardy's Venom. At the end of Spider-Man 3, Dr. Connors was studying a piece of the symbiote. Whereas Peter destroys all the symbiote at the construction site during the battle against Venom and Sandman, we never see what Connors does with that tiny symbiote piece. While Peter could have asked him to destroy it or the symbiote could have eventually died due to not finding a host, who knows whether maybe Connors kept it or froze it to study further? The teaser trailer shows Tom's Spider-Man wearing a black suit similar to the one Tobey's Spider-Man wore in his third film, so maybe that piece is gonna cause trouble again.
  • One can also argue that there's also another piece left. When one piece of the symbiote fell on Eddie Brock's jacket at the church, Eddie took his jacket off and threw it away, though it's possible that the piece reunited with the rest when the whole symbiote took over Eddie.

  • Jossed; it is the Tom Hardy Symbiote who appears, but briefly.

Gustav Fiers is the sixth villain
Or at the very least will be acknowledged. As Andrew's films came to an end too early, what if maybe Fiers is retconned into someone who worked with Richard Parker in a multiverse-like project that gathers the Sinister Five to destroy Spider-Man? This could also help to provide closure to Andrew's duology.

Jossed.

Two of the Sinister Five will sacrifice themselves
And those two will be Sandman and Electro. Maybe Sandman sees the errors of his ways and sacrifices himself to save his universe and his daughter. And maybe Electro also reflects on what he has done and sacrifices himself to save his universe, earning him the people's admiration and respect in the process. Who knows? Maybe Max Dillon gets a monument at New York at the end in honor of his sacrifice?

Jossed.

There will be a reference to "Me and the Boys"
Green Goblin and Electro are in the movie. If Michael Keaton's Vulture and Paul Giamatti's Rhino are also in the film, they can appear in a scene together to reference this meme.

Jossed.

The Vulture will be in the film
And at the end of the film, he is somehow knocked into the Sony's Spider-Man Universe to explain his appearance in Morbius.

Jossed.

Villains from the Raimiverse (Spider-Man Films) will appear
Given that Doctor Octopus, The Green Goblin, and Sandman will be appearing in the threequel film, and since the other villains that weren’t shown in, it is implied that he will appear, it is possible that they might appear in the film.
  • Vulture (John Malkovich)
  • Black Cat (Anne Hathaway)

Jossed.

Other Villains from The Amazing Spider-Man Unseen Villains will appear
Given that Lizard, Electro, and Rhino will be appearing in the threequel film, and since the other villains that weren’t shown in The Amazing Spider-Man spin-off films, it is possible that they might appear in the film.

  • Doctor Octopus (Christoph Waltz)
  • Kraven the Hunter (Shane West)
  • Sandman (Tom Hardy)
  • Vulture (Matthew McConaughey)
  • Black Cat (Felicity Jones)
  • Scorpia (Emily Blunt)
  • Venom (Finn Wittrock)

Jossed.

Lizard will sacrifice himself along with Sandman and Electro
Given that he has saved Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man from falling to his death in The Amazing Spider-Man, he may be sacrificing himself along with Sandman, and Electro in the film after he realizes the error of his ways.

Jossed.

Electro will pull off on a Heel–Face Turn
Given that he all he wanted was to have friends due to being lonely, it is possible that once he has a My God, What Have I Done? moment on his actions he has done as a villain, he will be turned good, and presumably sacrificed himself.

Jossed, though he repents upon being depowered by Spider-Man.

The Villains will be having Even Evil Has Standards Moments
Given the fact that Vulture had some standards in Homecoming, it’s possible that Some of the Villains will be having a few of them during the film.

Venom will appear as a Cameo in The Stinger
Given the fact that he isn’t shown in any of the trailers, it’s possible that he, along with Eddie Brock, will be making a cameo in a Post-Credits-Scene.

  • Confirmed!

Peter's attempts to redeem the villains will actually work, at least partially, and some will choose to go back to their own dimensions willingly.

  • He succeeds in redeeming only Octopus, but depowers everyone before they unwillingly return.

    Other Characters
Daredevil will appear in the film.
If he is the lawyer that is with Spider-Man in the teaser, Matt will have a brief cameo and not a major supporting role like Doctor Strange since he isn't an Earth-level hero. Furthermore, Daredevil's potential appearance will not directly reference the events of the series but neither will the film make it outright Canon Discontinuity and it will be in-continuity within the MCU through a vague, indirect mention of the previous seasons but nothing too substantial so audiences aren't confused.

  • Confirmed!

There will either be a reference to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse or an appearance by characters from that film
Either a similar moment to Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions where Peter notices Spider-Ham among hundreds of others Spiders across the multiverse, or The Stinger features Miles and Peter B. recruiting him to help them against the Big Bad of the Into the Spider-Verse sequel.

The lack of reference to Uncle Ben will finally be explained.
It will be shown that any time someone brings up Ben, Peter will either change the subject or just leave the room. May will reveal that Peter has NEVER been able to talk about Ben, and it's only gotten worse since the death of Tony Stark, another father figure in his life. This will culminate with Tobey and Andrew sharing their own experiences with him, during which Tobey teaches him a certain iconic mantra his uncle gave him.
  • Or to make it hit home harder, Peter doesn't even mention Uncle Ben until Tobey's Peter unmasks himself, which finally breaks the floodgates. Why? Because MCU Uncle Ben is also played by Tobey; we get a couple of flashbacks to that effect (possibly one set during the Hammer drones attack) as Peter is finally forced to confront his grief and self-loathing over losing Ben.

  • Apparently there never has been an MCU Uncle Ben, as Peter doesn't recognize the name when the other two Spider-Men mention him.
    • Directly mentioned him in What If and he could have just didn’t feel comfortable bringing him up.
    • Or he wasn't ever that important - he died, but not as a consequence of Peter's mistakes, so May could take the role Ben had for the others, no matter if later in his Spider-Man career.

  • Jossed. He's never mentioned.

  • In all likelihood, MCU May, unlike in most adaptations, is Peter's blood aunt, the sister of (presumably) Peter's father instead of the wife of Peter's uncle. So, in many ways she takes the classic roles of both Aunt May and Uncle Ben for this trilogy.

Wong will only have a cameo in this film, because No Way Home will take place around the same as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
  • He only appears in one scene, though that is because he became Sorcerer Supreme once Strange was blipped and thus is busy. Whether this movie and Shang-Chi are simultaneous is to be seen.

There will be a gag about how J. Jonah Jameson looks the same in every universe
Assuming that some of the multiversal villains are from the original Raimi universe, this sets up a perfect opportunity for them to be confused by why Jameson looks pretty much the same in both worlds (or possibly in even more universes, depending on how many universes we end up seeing).
  • And point out how different the two are, with the Raimi Jameson being much nicer in comparison to the MCU Jameson.

  • Jossed.

Strange was influenced to cast the spell
It seems pretty odd that Strange would ignore Wong's warnings to cast a spell to manipulate the minds of everyone on Earth given his experiences with spells going wrong. Once all is settled, Strange will reflect on this and realize someone or something was subtly influencing him to cast the spell to cause this chaos. Perhaps someone who happens to possess a tome of dark magic and whose actions are set to cause even more chaos...

  • Jossed, the trailer cuts out a part where it's clear Strange has done it before.

It's not Strange who cast the spell.
As cliché as it is to say, "Mephisto confirmed!" let's look at the evidence:
  • There's a character out there who has a history of screwing around with Peter's life and a motive for sowing chaos.
  • Strange and Peter had maybe two or three lines of conversation in Infinity War, but suddenly Strange is very friendly and buddy-buddy with Peter, including going behind Wong's back to cast a potentially dangerous spell.
  • Does Doctor Stephen "I keep an extensive watch list of magical threats and went through 14 billion futures to find the solution to defeating Thanos and only forked over the Time Stone to save Iron Man's life" Strange seem like the kind of superhero to casually muck about with a mindwipe spell that could unravel the fabric of the universe?
    • Not to mention, depending on when WandaVision and Loki take place in relation to the movie, doesn't Strange have slightly bigger priorities at the moment?
      • WandaVision occurred a few days after after Endgame, it's why Wanda's trauma was still so fresh, as for Loki... well the finale took place outside of time.
  • Therefore, it's not Peter talking that messes up the spell — it's Peter remembering that he has family and friends who care about him. "Strange" wants to hurt Peter and cause him suffering. Peter will go to "Strange" for help, "Strange" will cast the spell, and later on Peter will meet up with the real Dr. Strange — who has no idea what he's talking about or what he's done. Cue The Reveal of the true Big Bad behind everything.
  • Alternately he's the evil Dr. Strange from What If…? (2021).

  • Jossed.

Flash will be on Peter's side now
It would be interesting to see Peter's biggest bully be one of the few people to stick up for him. Plus, he loved Spider-Man, if not Peter, and Far from Home hinted at a Freudian Excuse for his behavior.
  • The trailer hints that this is possible, given that Flash is seen escorting Peter alongside MJ and Ned as he walks into school.
  • His vlogging might also end up being a Chekhov's Gun when he finds that he accidentally recorded the evidence against Mysterio and use it to expose him and clear Peter's name. This will also prove Happy saying that his vlogging helped Spider-Man to be true.

  • Sort of, as he tries to take advantage of knowing Spider-Man and get on Peter's side.

The Stinger will reveal that the events of the movie are what brought Deadpool to the MCU.
And his response to that will continue the "What the f—?!" Running Gag.
  • Only Deadpool won't be cut off by the credits, giving him the dubious honor of dropping the first Precision F-Strike in the MCU.

  • Jossed.

That entire memory-erasing spell was simply Strange being a Trickster Mentor
The spell will basically be a giant light show with Strange trying to make the point to Peter that there is no simple reset button that will undo everything and for better or worse, he has to live with the consequences. The fact that he's only explaining the fact that everyone's memories will be erased and the scene with his lecture about him leading a double life seems to take place after the spell failure seems to indicate that he was messing with Peter.

This will also double as a Take That! to One More Day.

  • Jossed. It does work!

Dr. Strange is helping Peter because he saved his life in Avengers: Infinity War.
In that film, Peter saved Dr. Strange form Ebony Maw and thus, saved half the universe. Strange agrees to perform a dangerous spell to Help Peter for this very reason.

  • Kind of - though he had done the memory wiping before, so that's why he goes along.

Dr. Strange is going out of his way to help Peter because he feels partially responsible for Tony's death.
He knows that Tony was like a father figure to Peter, and even though there was no other way for them to defeat Thanos, he still blames himself. That's why he's willing to attempt such a risky spell to help him out.

  • Jossed.

Daredevil will help Spider-Man
Given that he is a superhero, and since Peter was saving the world from Mysterio, he may be helping him.

  • Confirmed, though only Matt Murdock.

Doctor Strange will help Peter stop the Villains
Since he will be having an important role part in the film, he will likely help Peter stop the villains from the Multiverse.

  • Jossed, as Peter being an Idiot Hero ensures Strange is not there to help him, whether before the climax or during it.

Daredevil will prove Peter is Innocent
Given that Daredevil is a spy and detective, who is also a superhero, he will try to help Peter, by trying to tell the public he is innocent, including helping him stop the villains.

  • Sort of - he helps with some legal action, but Peter's reputation is still smeared.

The Stinger will involve J. Jonah Jameson hiring somebody to get revenge against Spider-Man
At the end of the movie, Peter will clear his name, which results in the Daily Bugle's reputation getting damaged. So, he hires a journalist that can prove that Spider-Man is a menace. We don't see the journalist he's speaking to, but he stresses that everything incriminating about Spider-Man has to be genuine. Then we get a Wham Line mentioning the reason he hired him was because of "that Life Foundation incident." The camera pans to the journalist: Eddie Brock, who promises to get results. He jumps out of the window and turns into Venom, prompting Jameson to shout "What the fu...!?" before cutting to a black screen: "Spider-Man will return, in Spider-Man vs. Venom."

  • Jossed.

Strange is being manipulated to cast the spell. But not by Mephisto.
He's being manipulated by Wanda, who after the end of her show, is still looking for her kids in the multiverse. Of course the Wanda we know wouldn't cause this level of crisis on purpose, hell she didn't even cause the Westview incident on purpose. But she JUST found out that she's more powerful than Strange, so maybe she figures, with her power mixed with his, they can bring back Billy and Tommy, either from the dead or whatever universe they were banished to at the end of WandaVision. I don't believe they were ACTUALLY not real, because Agatha explicitly says the Scarlet Witch is "A being capable of spontaneous creation." I think what happened was when she got rid of the Hex, the boys, and !HexVision were transported to a different universe. If it works, she'll be forced to give them up again to help fix this mess. If it doesn't, let's just say I wouldn't want to be the one to have to tell her they can't be brought back. Either way it'll lead to her descent into villainy.

  • Jossed.

MJ will be saved not by her Spider-Man, but by the Amazing Spider-Man.
Her fall in the official trailer is shot very similarly to Gwen's fall in TASM2. This could indicate that Andrew's Spidey will be the one who catches her, giving him a moment of redemption by sparing her the same fate that took his lost love.

  • Confirmed!

Strange was exaggerating about all of the villains dying in their respective universes.
It's very odd that Strange would tell Peter that all of the villains they're fighting died by the hand of Spider-Man since Raimi's Sandman and Webb's Lizard are actually still alive when we last see them. However, since the trailer implies Peter will go out of his way to save the villains from their own fates, Strange was probably exaggerating in an effort to convince Peter of the futility of his actions. After all, if Peter realizes that Sandman and Lizard were spared, it could convince him that there is another way besides death and try to take that option, but at the cost of whatever disaster Strange is trying to prevent.

  • Jossed.

Strange saying "They're starting to come through" is in regards to the other Spider-Men, not the villains.
Strange is relatively composed when talking about "visitors from the other universes", but more worried later on when someone else starts to come through. This could point to there being something with more monumental consequences than the villains coming through (there's probably some temporal law against interacting with your alternate-universe counterpart), which he will no longer be able to keep Peter away from.

  • Jossed, it's the people who know Spider-Man's identity.

We will finally get to see the Doctor Strange from the Raimiverse in this movie
In Spider-Man 2, when trying to come up with a name for the newly turned supervillain Otto Octavius, Jamesons's assistant suggests Doctor Strange, which Jameson rejects since that name is already taken. It was just a quick joke back then, but did imply the Raimiverse had at least one other hero besides Spider-Man. And now that we actually have a movie starring both Spider-Man and Doctor Strange dealing with a multiverse, it would be a waste not to make a Brick Joke out of this.
  • And he'll be played by Bruce Campbell, as a reference to how the unmade Spider-Man 4 would've confirmed that his cameos throughout the trilogy were actually Mysterio.

  • Jossed.

May is going to comfort and help Peter
It is implied that she is going to be the one Peter is talking to given that her brown hair was shown. When the latter tells her that he can't save everyone. She will convince Peter while comforting him, that he is Spider-Man who helped save people, which will help Peter save everyone (including the Villains).

  • Confirmed... but man, does it come to a sad end.

Peter's friends will still consider him a Hero
Despite being framed by Mysterio for killing him, Flash was shown in the trailer escorting him, and Betty still considers Peter a nice hero despite being on Mysterio’s team. So, it is likely that Peter's friends will still help him.
  • And likely be arrested for aiding/harboring a fugitive.

  • Confirmed.

Doctor Strange showed sympathy to the Multiverse Villains
Given that he was explaining their fates the Peter, it is implied that he also felt bad for them, since he did apologize to Peter once he told him about their fates.

Doctor Strange will let Peter save the Villains
Despite refusing Peter on saving the villains, it is possible that during the film, he will spare him and let him save them, given that it is a nice thing to do to save a villain.

  • Only during the climax, because he's (or rather, they're) pulling it off.

Betty Brant will become the face of the anti-Spidey backlash in Midtown High.
While that might be strange, given Betty has been a part of Peter's social group in Homecoming and Far From Home, a Freeze-Frame Bonus in the trailer for No Way Home shows her reporting as Peter makes his way into school. As part of the film's viral marketing campaign, a TikTok account for the Daily Bugle was also created with Betty in charge as an unpaid intern. It can be assumed that she will follow in her comics incarnation's footsteps in media, and believes capitalizing on the anti-Spidey backlash will help further her career. Correspondingly, she will Take a Level in Jerkass.

  • Jossed.

No Way Home will Introduce up X-Men
If there is any possibility of X-Men, they may appear in the Post-Credit- Scene.

  • Jossed.

X-Men will Return
Given what one of the news has said about the X-Men appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the X-Men may appear near the end of the film.
  • Jossed.

X-Men will help Peter stop the Multiverse Villains
If the X-Men appear in the film, they will introduce and meet Peter, where they will help him stop the Multiverse Villains.
  • Jossed.

"Multiversal Crisis" is actually all Steve Roger's fault
By traveling back in time and starting relationship with Peggy, he created a paradox that after few decades was turned into Temporal Anomaly teared the fabric of reality in mutiple universes all at once.
  • I'm pretty sure part of it was caused by Loki and possibly Strange and Wanda.
  • Jossed.

Doctor Strange is Mysterio (Alive or Resurrected) all along
Mysterio is posing as Doctor Strange and the villains and the Tobey Miguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Men are all a big illusion set up by him. The post credits scene might set up the real multiverse as Doctor Strange either confronts Wanda, or something happened to him and wakes to find he is in the multiverse.
  • I'm not entirely sure. Plus, if all of it was revealed as an illusion, it probably wouldn't go well w/ viewers and fans.
  • Jossed.

Tobey's Peter and Mary Jane will be revealed to have married and had a child
And the child's name will be Harry Parker!
  • Sadly, only Tobey appears. He does mention that he and Mary Jane are still together, but it isn't always easy due to being Spider-Man.

It will be shown if Tobey's Aunt May discovered that he was Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2 hints that Aunt May suspects the truth, so what if this film finally helps to settle the debate? Rosemary Harris is still alive, so bringing her back to reprise her role sounds reasonable.
  • Jossed.

Peter's lawyer will be Jennifer Walters
And this will be her first official appearence before her own show starts.

  • Jossed, it's Matt Murdock.

The two Harry Osborns will be mentioned
Given Ned's friendship with Peter, maybe the two other Peters decide to talk with him about the dangers of being Spider-Man's friend by telling him about how Tobey's Harry lost his life saving Spider-Man and how Andrew's Harry turned insane due to Spider-Man's refusal to help him?

  • Only Tobey's Harry is mentioned.
  • Andrew actually references Harry and his fate when talking with Ned.

Sam and Bucky will prove Peter's innocence
Despite Daredevil's best efforts, the judge will still believe that Peter's guilty, but before he can sentence him, Sam and Bucky appear with a captured William Ginter Riva, who confesses the truth and/or shows a video of how Mysterio instructed his accomplices to do a video to frame Spider-Man in case he died.

  • Jossed. None of them are even mentioned and Daredevil managed to get the charges dropped.

The M Js are alternate-universe half-sisters
Michelle Jones-Watson and Mary Jane Watson both have a jerkass Mr. Watson for a father. Assuming he was alive when their timelines split, it could easily have been the same man.

    Miscellaneous
We'll see a clip from Andrew Garfield's universe of Stock Footage from The Avengers (2012) with the Oscorp Tower added in as a Development Gag

  • Jossed.

The soundtrack will include parts of the scores from previous film continuities
Each Spider-Man gets their themes played at some point in the movie with the main theme of the film incorporating quotations from all three, and to top it off the climax will be set to the orchestral version of the 60's theme.

The train that Spider-Man and Doctor Strange are on in the trailer is the runaway train from Spider-Man 2.
The train's moving through a canyon, it’s true. But considering the fact that things are now completely out of control, it’s not too far-fetched that Doctor Strange conjured a portal to stop them crashing through the buffers and send them somewhere safer.

  • Jossed, though whether that Mirror Dimension train is a surface or subway one is unclear.

This film takes place after Multiverse of Madness, chronologically.
Strange is acting so arrogant because he's already prevented one multiversal crisis and thinks he knows how to handle another. The events of this film will take him back down a peg.

Or the film will set up Multiverse of Madness.
As mentioned before, it will turn out that something is influencing Strange to ignore Wong's warning and cast the spell; upon realizing this, he goes to investigate further and comes to discover what Wanda is up to.

  • Confirmed.

The Ramones cover of the old Spider-Man theme will be the end credits music
They used The Ramones twice for the end credits. There's really no other song they could use for the end credits that would wrap the trilogy up as nicely.

  • Jossed, and what a wasted opportunity.

The forbidden spell Strange uses was forbidden because of the TVA.
Wong clearly knows exactly which spell Strange has in mind to help Peter, but doesn't go into any detail as to why the spell is forbidden, and Strange probably hasn't had occasion to ask why, particularly since he shrugs off Wong's warning as soon as Wong's left. A spell which meddles with space and time is probably exactly the kind of thing which would bring the Time Variance Authority down on the sorcerer who casts it like a ton of bricks - and as such, every sorcerer who's cast that spell in the past has run a considerable risk of getting surrounded by Minutemen, with a reset charge placed nearby to prune the newly-sprouted branch. Past sorcerers, if they retained enough data on the results, would probably write the spell off as "forbidden, don't even try" just because it would never work out well.On the other hand, as of Loki (2021), the TVA is in a colossal shambles, and they might not be in a position to send a squad to reset Strange's casting of the spell - which in turn leads to the multiversal convergence which Strange, Peter, and allies have to deal with.

  • Jossed. It's not even forbidden.

The soundtrack "Ride of the Valkyries" will be featured in this movie

Never Trust a Trailer is at play with the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer we've been shown because of editing; the actual plot will be very different
For starters: the very idea of Doctor Strange very willing to play with multiversal continuum, despite What If…? (2021) and other similar arguments, is just too suspicious considering the Sacred Timeline counterpart we've been following so far seems above it. So, an argument of what exactly might be going on:
  • Peter seeks to fix his legal/public image issues on his own; the Multiversal villains then begin to pop up on their own not because of Doctor Strange's spell, but directly related to the events of the Loki (2021) Season 1 Finale (Sylvie killing He Who Remains). Only then does Peter go to Doctor Strange—as the closest older Avenger he has access to apart from anyone Stark-affiliated.
  • Strange and Peter's 'fight' in the mirror dimension is just Strange training Peter for the current crisis, with a dash of them working through Peter's current issues.
  • The spell Strange is trying to cast is in fact related to closing the multiverse, and then Peter is then tempted to add onto it the memory-erasing element. Strange, still sympathetic but nonetheless in control, plays around if only to teach Peter another lesson on responsibility.
  • The fact that Spider-Man is likely to be publicly-documented fighting off the multidimensional villains in the film (Doc Ock, Green Goblin and the like) will ironically help his public reputation, making him Loved by All and subsequently minimizing his worries.

  • Jossed, there are things hidden from the trailer but the plot is mostly what was advertised.

"Deep Six" by Marilyn Manson will play in the end credits.
"Sinister Six"...

  • Jossed, it's a song about three because that's the number of Spider-Men.

This film and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will both be telling the same story, but from two different sides.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will be telling Peter's side of the story for his and Strange's trip through the Multiverse. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will tell the same story from Steven Strange's point of view, and in some cases while Peter and Strange are separated to where the films interlock with each other to tell one cohesive story.

  • Jossed, it seems to set up Multiverse of Madness.

The yellow '73 Delta 88 will make a cameo.
Because you can't have a Raimi Spider-Man crossover without featuring The Classic at least once.

  • Jossed.

there will be people who believe Spider-Man is innocent.
There will be a montage of people he protected or who think the video was staged showing their support on social media, culminating in Weird Al performing a reworked version of "Ode to a Superhero."

  • Jossed, people believe Spidey's innocent, but no such montage happens.

The movie will have a Bittersweet Ending, emphasis on the bitter
If recent comments by Tom Holland can be believed, No Way Home is going to be more grim and sad than its predecessors. This may mean that a wholly happy ending is unlikely.

  • Confirmed.

The movie will signal the End of an Era that will signal the next stage of Phase 4
So far, most of Phase 4 was checking in on what our established characters were up to and seeing some new faces show up, with all of them having a general sense of disconnect from each other. Though, they also set up massive players such as Wanda, Sharon, Kang, Fontaine, the Rings (both the artifact and the gang), and Arishem. However, that's just set-up. Whatever happens in No Way Home, much like how Far From Home kicked off Phase 4, will begin the next stage of Phase 4 in which most of those players start making their move and possibly the movies/shows being more in sync with each other in telling one large story.

  • Just for Spidey.

"Hero" by Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott will play at some point.
Either when (if?) Tobey’s Spidey comes in or during the final showdown.

  • Jossed.

There will be a reference to the Spider-Man pointing meme… but not in the way you think.
Instead of Spider-Man pointing, it'll be… JJ pointing at himself!

  • Jossed.
Part 1: Sequel Hook that might happen in the film

  • Spin-Offs off the Spider-Man villains returning in a series.
  • X-Men appearing in one of the Post-Credits scenes.
  • Doctor Strange going on a journey to save the Multiverse.
  • The Multiversal War.

  • Jossed - though the third is the final stinger, a trailer for Strange's movie.

Part 2: There will be a Sequel Hook on the Villains
Given that this film is going to be focusing on the Villains from the Multiverse, it is possible there will be a film named Spider-Man: Sinister Six.

  • Jossed - though the sixth villain, Venom appears, leaving a hook.

Part 3: There will be a Sequel Hook on the Multiverse
Given that this film is focusing on the Multiverse due to the Villains appearing, it’s possible that it’s going to set up Doctor Strange: Into The Multiverse of Madness.

  • Kind of - the trailer makes clear Strange delving into the multiverse once plays a part.

"Vindicated" by Dashboard Confessional will play at the end
While some are clamoring for "Hero" by Chad Kroeger, "Vindicated" is more appropriate for two reasons:
  • 1. Doc Ock is shaping up to be the Big Bad, like in Spider-Man 2, which "Vindicated" was written for.
  • 2. The title of the song is appropriate since Peter is trying to clear his name for Mysterio's crimes.

  • Jossed.

Some memes of the original trilogy must be acknowledged
Since the end of Sam Raimi's movies, many memes have been made featuring some of the trilogy's side characters or iconic scenes. If the writers have researched the Internet fandom Spider-Man, the film may feature:
  • Tobey's J. Jonah Jameson. J. K. Simmons is coming back as Tom's Jameson, but what if he returns as the original incarnation as well? He can also see Doctor Strange and compare him to the Strange of his own universe, as he mentions a Doctor Strange in Spider-Man 2.
  • Mr. Aziz. Perhaps he is seen delivering pizzas or offers to give Tom's Spidey a job?
  • Mr. Ditkovich. He has always wanted Peter to pay his rent on time, so maybe he now wants the rent of the other Peters?
  • The corrupt girl who tricked Jameson into buying a camera without film. Maybe Jameson hired her at The Daily Bugle?
  • Bully Maguire's dance. Tobey's Peter may convince Andrew's Peter and Tom's Peter to also join him in his iconic cool dance.

  • Jossed. Although another meme gets acknowledged Norman Osborn says the "I'm something of a scientist myself" line.

The spell isn't too particular about identity.
When Strange told magic to round up everyone who knows that Spider-man's name is Peter (Parker and erase their knowledge of that), it went ahead and identified everyone who knew that Spider-man's name is Peter, and was interrupted before it got more parameters. And since it couldn't get ahold of an Eddie Brock who is possessed by a klyntar named Venom in the Reimi-verse, it grabbed such a person from the closest universe with such a person, regardless of whether he knew that or not.

The news stories Flint was talking about came out after Spider-man 3.
Meaning they came out after Harry died. I don't recall him saying it was in the news immediately.

    Post-Release
When Strange cast the new spell, the villains were sent to the same points in time as their respective Spider-Men
Their original deaths still occurred in these continuities, but years have passed in-universe when they return, now redeemed/cured. So they're able to properly use their second chances and live better lives in the present, without erasing the past.

The Time Variance Authority will plot to arrest the three Spider-Men, Doctor Strange and the villains for the events of No Way Home
Given that Strange recklessly used a spell that was intended to erase all memory of Mysterio revealing Peter is Spider-Man before using it to erase all knowledge of Peter Parker, therefore nearly tearing the timeline asunder, and changing the fates of the villains who were supposed to die in their worlds, the TVA would definitely see this as a violation of the Sacred Timeline. This will also factor into the appearances of Loki & Mobius in Multiverse of Madness, the second season of Loki, and the next Spider-Man film.
  • Unlikely, as the Sacred Timeline was compromised at the end of Loki, which created the Multiverse. Maybe a specific Variant of the TVA will show up, but not the original.

MJ, Ned, and Happy will all independently learn that their memories were tampered with, before Spider-Man 4
Given the three are almost certain to still have physical evidence of Peter and their respective relationships just lying around which they are very likely to stumble across at some point.

Ned and MJ won't appear in the 4th film outside of archive footage
As they have no memory of Peter and will be attending MIT, the chances of Peter encountering them in New York will be small.

MJ and Ned's memories will be restored in a future sequel, but not until Spider-Man 5 or Spider-Man 6
By this point, years will have passed and Peter has moved on with a new love interest.

The MCU version of Uncle Ben was killed either at the Stark Expo or during the Chitauri invasion

Ned will somehow get his memories of Peter back...
...And the realization that Peter broke his promise to immediately help them remember is what leads him to becoming the Hobgoblin.

Alternatively, Ned or MJ will bond with the Venom symbiote and become Venom

Flash Thompson will become Agent Venom
At some point, presumably after it bonds to Peter and gets the spider emblems, the symbiote offshoot will bond to Flash Thompson and they will become Agent Venom.

The memory erasure will follow the same "rules" as the psychic blindspot
In the comics, following One More Day, Peter's identity was protected by a psychic blindspot that prevented anyone deducing his identity, incapable of putting the facts together no matter what evidence they found, unless he explicitly told them who he was under the mask. While Peter hasn't had a reason to do that yet, if Spider-Man ever has to remove his mask in the presence of an old friend, such as one of the remaining Avengers or MJ, they will subsequently regain their memories of Peter.

Scorpion will be the Big Bad of Spider-Man 4
After three movies, it's high time the Sequel Hook of Homecoming finally got addressed. With the implications that the next movie will adapt the Black Suit Saga, Scorpion being the antagonist makes sense since Mac Gargan wore the Venom Symbiote at one point.

Wanda will be the one to restore MJ and Ned’s memories of Peter.
Aside from Stephen, she’s the only one powerful enough to do it, and she’s confirmed to be in “Multiverse of Madness.”

Peter will team up with Daredevil in the next film
And it will involve them trying to take down Mysterio's gang. Bonus points if Mysterio attempts to use their illusions on Murdock only to be on the receiving end of a Curb-Stomp Battle thanks to the latter's blindness.

Peter will cameo in the first season finale of Hawkeye (2021)
In the final scene of the movie, he's seen swinging over Rockefeller Center during the Christmas season of 2024. This is the exact same time the first season of Hawkeye is set in and the trailer for the season finale of that show, (which will air one week after the movie’s release) features a big fight at Rockefeller Center. This means that when Clint and Kate arrive there, they will see Spider-man swing by overhead.
  • Jossed, unfortunately Peter doesn't appear, presumably because the film had only just come out, and seeing the ending suit would be a big spoiler.

Peter's new apartment building is the same one Jessica Jones lives in.
They'll start a trend of reintroducing the Netflix heroes in the Spider-Man films.

Peter Parker will team up with Kate Bishop.
  • It's too good to pass up the chance.

J. Jonah Jameson is a Nexus being.
Why else would he look the same in every universe (also considering all the animated universes where Simmons has voiced JJJ)?

MCU Peter will be involved with the events of the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
  • Alternatively, all three Peters will appear leading to this bit of dialogue:
    • Peter 2: Not this again.
    • Peter 3: What did you do this time, Peter.
    • Peter 1: It wasn't me this time, guys, I swear!

Peter will get a job at the Daily Bugle in the next movie
Now that he’s living on his own, he’ll need to pay rent. After a few failed jobs, he decides to swallow his pride and send photos to the Bugle after learning how much Jameson is offering per photo or video. He also works for them in hopes of trying to convince Jameson to stop slandering him.
  • Completely doubtful. No version of Jameson has ever been even close to as big a jerk as this one, so why would Peter, after losing EVERYTHING, go and WORK for him???

Possible titles for the next movie
  • Spider-Man: Homeless.
  • Spider-Man: Home Alone
  • Spider-Man: Miles From Home (if they ever plan on introducing Miles Morales in the MCU).
  • Spider-Man: New Home.
    • Alternatively, the title won't have the word "Home" in it at all.
    • Going off the above, the next trilogy could ignore the comics runs they'd take the names from but use Day as an Arc Word: Brand New Day, One More Day, and then a pun like Doomsday or Mayday.
      • Possibly, if they use Mayday as the final part of the second trilogy, then perhaps it could be forshadowing the possibile inclusion of Mayday Parker (a fitting bookend of sorts, while YMMV on it, there were vibes of a father/son dynamic with Tony in Peter's introduction, leading to the Irondad Fandom-Specific Plot, and the second trilogy ends with Peter becoming a father)

When we next see Peter he will not be called Peter Parker
He introduced himself as Peter Parker to Ned and MJ, but he was going to try and remind them who he was, it is possible that, since he's made the decision to not try and remind them, and effectively put away his links to his past, Peter may decide not to go by his original name.
  • What name would he go by instead? Ben Riley; Peter's current situation, remembering the life of Peter Parker, but unable to have access to everything that was Peters is similar to Ben's so it might be an interesting Mythology Gag.
  • While the Ben Riley bit is unconfirmed, the script has been released, and the last line is "Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man lives on..." which seemingly suggests that Peter may well have abandoned the name Peter Parker.

Ned and MJ won't remember offscreen.
It would be a massive waste of that plot to just have them remember off-screen. More likely during the next film, we'll have a subplot of them gradually realising that there's something missing, and then at Peter's Darkest Hour, they'll return to him to deliver a rousing speech.
  • Alternatively, him finally telling them could be a great ending scene to the next movie, which will likely be about him learning to have connections again.

Peter will have a new girlfriend.
Since Peter has seemingly accepted that MJ has forgotten him, and won't regain her memories, it is probable that Peter will attempt to move on, particularly since he'll have to acknowledge that MJ is likely to start dating eventually. Possible candidates include:
  • Carlie Cooper: It has been commented that No Way Home is a very Broad Strokes adaption of One More Day, so it's possible the next film would attempt to continue on to Brand New Day with Carlie. However this is unlikely, given Carlie's unpopularity with fans.
  • Felica Hardy: After Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy, Black Cat is probably the most popular love interest of Peter's, so it makes sense that they might go that route, even if they then break up when MJ remembers, if for no other reason than Fanservice (in more ways than one)
  • Kitty Pryde: The X-Men are coming and Peter/Kitty are a fairly popular pairing from the Ultimate universe, maybe this is part of how the MCU X-Men enter the picture.
  • Sophia Sanduval: To include mutants without tying it directly to the X-men
  • A renamed Michele Gonzales: Think about Peter's situation at the end of the movie; He's broke and living in an apartment. It'd only make sense to see him have to get a roommate in the future who can help him pay rent.
  • Silver Sablinova: Silver Sable could be hired to try to take out Spider-Man by one of Mysterio's believer, only to end up developing a little soft spot for him after learning of his innocence and having to fight a shared enemy.
  • Gwen Stacy. However, Peter's knowledge of what happens to Gwen in Peter 3's will make him extremely hesitant to enter any relationship, even friendship, with her.
    • Alternatively, Peter will instead meet Jill Stacy, Gwen's cousin from the comics who Peter did date while MJ was assumed to be dead. Since Garfield's Peter only mentioned Gwen by her first name, Peter won't make any connection. Things would fall apart really quickly.
    • No freaking way. Peter can't afford to live, let alone date.
      • So not being able to afford nice dinners and gifts means he can't even develop feelings for someone? Because if that was true, it would mean way less people in the world would be having sex or married married.

Peter's new boss
Obviously Peter's getting a new job, he's now living alone with no support, the question is who, and what will the job be?
  • JJJ: Possible, but I'd say unlikely. Remember this isn't the usual Peter/JJ relationship: JJ's not just someone who slanders Peter, as the functional accomplice to Mysterio's final strike, JJ played a major role in destroying Peter's life, setting in motion the chain of events that killed Aunt May, and resulted in Peter being forced to have Strange erase all memory of him from the world, no matter how desperate he is, I doubt Peter could stand to work for him here.
    • Unless he's really strapped for cash and Jameson offers huge money for pictures of Spider-Man. Recall that Spidey in the comics first encountered Jameson as an ungrateful news-editor who ruined Spidey's wrestling career (and thus his income for Aunt May and himself) for the sheer act of stopping a burglar. It's only later that Parker works for Jameson when he heard of the news editor offering money to anyone willing to take pictures of Spider-Man and the Vulture.
  • Max Modell: Possible, as above if they are trying to do Brand New Day, it would make sense for Peter to end up working at Horizon, but I'd doubt it; after setting up a back to basics homemade suit Spider Man at the end of this film, fans are going to want at least one film with this status quo before giving Peter access to advanced tech again.
  • Martin Li: In his last discussion with Happy, Peter expresses a desire to keep what May stood for alive, it makes sense for Peter to start working at FEAST, in May's memory, and Martin Li runs the shelter, so it makes the most sense for the MCU Peter Parker to be working at FEAST when we meet him again. It also offers the possibility of Mr. Negative as the next (or at least a future) Villain.
  • Mr. Delmar: Even though the guy may not remember him anymore, Peter went to Delmar's deli quite often, so he may know Delmar enough to know how to get on his good side. It'd be a practical choice for Peter too, since he'd be mopping the floor and such, ie entry level work that wouldn't require a robust resumé. Plus, Peter could be able to take food that's gonna be thrown out for himself sometimes.

Peter's new suit will retain the Expressive Mask.
While not as refined as the Stark Tech suits, Peter's original homemade suit, mostly seen in Homecoming still had shutter eyes and, coupled with the fact that some fans IRL have managed to make their own version, it makes sense for Peter's sit to retain that function, even though the rest of the suit is now just a spandex suit.

Part 1: Various Alternate Versions of Spider-Man's foes will appear in the second trilogy of Spider-Man
Given that the Visitors from the Multiverse are enemies of Spider-Man who know about his secret identity, it would be surprising if any of them appear in the second trilogy of Spider-Man.
  • Venom
    • Except, it will become the new MCU Version.
  • Rhino
  • Hydro-Man
  • Vulture
  • Scorpion
    • Except, he will be the same version from Spider-Man: Homecoming.
  • Hobgoblin
  • Tombstone

Part 2: Various Alternate Versions of Spider-Man's foes will appear in the second trilogy of Spider-Man
Given that the Visitors from the Multiverse are enemies of Spider-Man who know about his secret identity, it would be surprising if any of them appear in the second trilogy of Spider-Man.
  • Morbius
    • Except, he will be the same version from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.
  • Carnage
    • Except it will be the same version from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. But without Cletus.
  • Cletus Kasady
    • Except it will be the same version from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. But without Carnage.
  • Shriek
    • Except, she will be the same version from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.
  • Kraven the Hunter
    • Except, he will be the same version from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe
  • Molten Man
  • Hammerhead
  • Silver Sable
  • Chameleon

Part 3: Various Alternate Versions of Spider-Man's foes will appear in the second trilogy of Spider-Man
Given that the Visitors from the Multiverse are enemies of Spider-Man who know about his secret identity, it would be surprising if any of them appear in the second trilogy of Spider-Man.
  • Black Cat
  • Beetle
  • Jackal
  • Scorpia
  • Iron Spider
  • Bombshell
  • Spot
  • Morlun
  • Jack O'Lantern
  • Calypso
  • Red Goblin
  • The Green Goblin/Norma Osborn
  • Swiss Miss
  • Coldheart

The piece of the Venom symbiote will be brought from Mexico to New York City by Angelo Fortunato
He'll be nothing more than a tourist who just happened to go the same bar that Eddie and Venom were in. The symbiote will hop away from an ignorant Angelo quickly, making his appearance a mere Mythology Gag.

Peter will end up having to get a roommate
Said roommate will be a supporting character in Spider-Man 4 (Let's just call it that for now). As for who it could be, let's list ideas below.
  • Fred Myers: He was Peter's roommate in the comics for a time, so it'd make sense. Here, Fred would be an Australian teen who moved to the US after being offered a pro baseball contract by a man who turned out to be a con artist who swindled him out of most of his money. Now stuck in New York, Fred turns to a life of crime as "Boomerang". He naturally hides this behind his new roommate Peter's back, while Peter must also hide being Spider-Man.
  • Vincent "Vin" Gonzales: a rookie police officer who, while not a full on Mysterio believer, does have doubts about Spider-Man and if he can be trusted. Naturally, this leads to some awkward interactions with Peter, who can't help himself from defending himself while still making sure to keep his secret.
  • A Canon Foreigner
  • Miles Morales because let's face it, he's one of the most popular characters out of the Spider-Man franchise and it's a known pattern that he'll be best friends with Peter if Peter is still relatively young (like in Spider-Man (PS4)) rather than an experienced adult superhero.
  • Alternatively, a new Russian landlord with a daughter who's very particular about rent.
    • Having a landlord doesn't really rule out having a roommate. Heck, having a landlord who's very strict about rent money would probably be a good reason for Peter to get a roommate to begin with.
  • Hobie Brown
  • Brad Davis: Okay, this is a bit of a crack idea, but who knows? Maybe things didn't pan out so well for Brad after Far From Home.

The next film will be loosely inspired by The Six Arms Saga
Peter's powers begin to mutate him further than they have before and he grows two new sets of arms. Peter's attempts to cure himself by developing a serum results in unexpected consequences.

Strange will remember Peter due to the events of his upcoming multiverse movie.
Seeing that Strange isn't done with the multiverse just yet, it would make sense that, somehow, he ends up remember Peter due to the multiverse. Maybe he runs into Tobey Peter Parker or Andrew Peter Parker again, with them asking how MCU Peter is doing. As a result, Strange, after resolving the events of the film, goes to Peter to let him know he remembers and begins to try to figure out a way to fix things, maybe even allowing Peter to stay at the Sanctum Sanctorum.
  • Alternatively, it is thanks to Wanda and her abilities that lead to the restored memories of Peter to those who know him.

Nick Fury and those off-planet still remember Peter Parker.
The spell is meant to wipe the memory of Peter Parker/Spider-Man out of those on Earth. Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Captain Marvel, Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy are all off planet. The spell may be quite literal, affecting those only on Earth.
  • Given that the spell obviously works across universes, this seems pretty unlikely.
    • The spell's effects might only affect the MCU Earth, as it was cast to fix up the multiverse crisis (at least until ''Multiverse of Madness").
      • Also, since Nick knows magic is real, he might have picked up an artifact that protects him from such mind-wipes, or have some other process to regain/retain such, since info is half his business.

Ned has been unknowingly using Magitek all along.
The reason he's such an effective "guy in the chair" is that he's talented in technomancy, even though he has no idea his computer skills are magical in nature, and he'll eventually specialize in this school of magic once he gets training. He's a Techno Wizard in the most literal sense.

The Symbiote will have mild Adaptational Heroism in Spider-Man 4.
The obvious plot thread is for the Symbiote to bond to Peter at his lowest point, and for it to push him closer to the edge. However, this would retread part of the conflict pushed by the Green Goblin. Also, the Symbiote is spawned from the Tom Hardy Venom, who is a significantly more heroic portrayal of the character. For one reason or another, Peter Will still likely have to reject the Symbiote, but it won’t be the Symbiote acting as The Corruptor, but for another reason.
  • Given the rules established in the first venom film, it could just be that Peter isn't a match for the symbiote.

The next film will be about JJJ creating the Scorpion
Jameson falls for a sob story from Gargan about having basically been framed by Spidey and decides to help him get a suit that Gargan then uses to fight Spidey. The Bugle may or may not claim Scorpion as a mascot at first, and this will be the reason he has a green color scheme despite that not being a color commonly associated with Scorpions.

The reason Hardy Venom doesn't have a big part in the movie
He is too dark and would feel out of place in this kid-friendly film. This Venom would bite the heads off of Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Lizard, and Electro without a second thought. Plus the movie would be overcrowded.

Jameson's reason for potentially hiring Mac Gargan
With or without Spider-Man, Mac Gargan would probably have an ugly criminal record, which would make Jameson come off as either really reckless or really idiotic to hire him. The Blip will have occurred while Gargan was in a chain gang picking up trash. Since the people who got blipped also had what they were wearing dusted, the chain Gargan was wearing got erased with some of the convicts he was with. Gargan will have taken advantage of the confusion and reduced security to escape. During the five year timeskip, he’ll have faked his death, gained a new identity, and even had plastic surgery.

The reason for Norman’s Adaptational Heroism is he just couldn’t take any more

So, some have noticed Norman is less subservient to Goblin, and thus more heroic than the original movie. It’s because the last crimes of the original movie were the straws that broke the camel’s back. While he was horrified at the first deaths, they were people who personally wronged him (a government official that rejected his project and a board of directors that fired him)But now Goblin almost killed his son’s best friend’s aunt, love interest, and a cable car full of children. At this point, he couldn’t take any more potential blood on his hands and tried to fight back as much as he could.

Peter's new landlord is in fact this universe's version of Mister Ditkovich.
I have no evidence to back this up, I just want it to be true.

It'll finally give him a chance to fix that damn door.

  • He does ask for the rent early at the movie's end, so you might be on to something...

Spider-Man will re-enter the "unified" superhero community via the Fantastic Four
With few to no connections left now that no one knows who Peter Parker is, he'll need to get some income somehow—why not start with a low-level scientific job at the Reed Richards' lab, where he gets a second-hand seat to the accident which turns them into the Fantastic Four and becomes a reserve member to the team as he was in some comics continuities? Especially since it's probably debatable if he's really an Avenger anymore.

Also, Spider-Man is good friends with the Human Torch in the comics and it would be nice to see that on film now that the rights hurdles aren't as much of a problem as they used to be.

The world is still split on Peter's guilt
Doctor Strange might have erased everyone's knowledge of Peter Parker, but people still remember everything Spider-Man did. It is as such possible that people still remember Mysterio's broadcast, just not the part about Spider-Man being Peter Parker.

The Visitors from the Multiverse have some allies of Spider-Man
Despite that The Visitors being revealed as enemies of Spider-Man, it is implied that not all of the visitors are necessarily antagonistic. Meaning that there are a few heroes also, given that it is possible of Black Cat and Silk appearing in the future, they might be helping Peter despite them being villains.

Ned is a descendant of none other than Agamotto himself
There's nothing saying he couldn't have been an ancient Filipino, so why not?

Strange actually never did that spell before
Knowing Strange's personality, it makes perfect sense that Strange have never actually performed the Kof-Kol spell at all before. He knows that the nature of the spell itself could be used to trick others into believing that he has some experience with it before, and he just simply tricked Wong like so. This really explains why Strange seems so reckless in performing the spell without laying out the ground rules to Peter beforehand.

Venom or the other Villain will free The Visitors
Given that Venom is an enemy of Spider-Man, and is set to return in Spider-Man 4, he or someone else may somehow free The Visitors.
  • Free them from what? The Visitors were all sent back to their original universes.

Peter will encounter The Leftover Symbiote
Given that Venom’s Leftover Symbiote was accidentally left by him when sent back to his universe, it is Heavily Implied that Peter will encounter the Symbiote in Spider-Man 4.

Peter will realize that the Symbiote is from another Alternate Villain
Since Peter is unaware of Venom being the only person not encountered in New York City due to being in Mexico, he will presumably have a Heel Realization that the Leftover Symbiote is from Venom.

The Symbiote will help Peter stop Villains
Despite it presumably going after him, it is possible that once it realizes that Peter is good, it will help Peter stop villains.

Cloak and Dagger will appear in Spider-Man 4
If Marvel wishes to reintroduce Cloak and Dagger, similar to Matt Murdock in this movie and Wilson Fisk in Hawkeye it makes sense for them to appear in a Spider-Man movie, as the pair debuted in a Spider-Man comic.

Part 1: The Visitors that might encounter Spider-Man
Since The Visitors in the film are set as a Sequel Hook for Spider-Man in the future, most of them are going to confront Peter sometime in the second trilogy or third trilogy.
  • Morbius
  • Kraven the Hunter
  • Scorpion

Part 2: The Visitors that might encounter Spider-Man
Since The Visitors in the film are set as a Sequel Hook for Spider-Man in the future, most of them are going to confront Peter sometime in the second trilogy or third trilogy.
  • Rhino
  • Black Cat
    • Except, she will be an Adaptational Heroism by helping Spider-Man, since most of her versions are her helping Spider-Man.
  • Carnage
  • Tombstone

Part 3: The Visitors that might encounter Spider-Man
Since The Visitors in the film are set as a Sequel Hook for Spider-Man in the future, most of them are going to confront Peter sometime in the second trilogy or third trilogy.
  • Silk
  • Shriek
  • Silver Sable

The Visitors will sympathize with Spider-Man
Despite presumably most of them being Spider-Man’s enemies, they or one of them may sympathize with him once find out about his tragic life.

The Visitors will be having a group of Spider-Man’s Enemies, Friends, and Allies
Since The Visitors are revealed that have some of Spider-Man’s enemies such as Kraven the Hunter, Rhino, and Scorpion. It is implied that there will be a few other visitors that are enemies of Spider-Man who know about his secret identity. There may be a few visitors who are friends and or/allies of Peter Parker that is Spider-Man.

Ned and MJ will migrate to Ironheart's supporting cast
They're attending MIT, where Riri Williams goes to school in the comics. If Ned becomes Riri's guy in the chair, that gives him a reason to be around during the next big crossover. Ironheart and Spider-Man will team up, and that will be how Ned and MJ find their way back to Peter. Plus, seeing as the MCU Peter Parker is so closely linked to the Iron Man mythos, putting him in a Big Brother Mentor position to Riri would bring him full circle.

Marko and Connors were about to die before they teleported to the MCU.
The theme for Ock, Osborn, and Dillon was that they were snatched into the MCU just before death, so why do both Connors and Marko show up despite not dying? Maybe because they were about to, just not while fighting Spider-Man. We never learn Connors' fate after Amazing Spider-Man, but in his scene with Fiers while incarcerated, he showed signs of reverting back into the Lizard. His mutation could of returned completely over time, which lead to him breaking out or otherwise needing to be neutralized by guards. As for Marko, maybe he's only seen in a sand form because he was destabilizing, and was about to simply crumble into lifeless sand before the energy surge from the jump to the MCU bought him some time.

Someone will restore Peter’s Memories with the people he used to have
Well, since Peter’s Memories are erased with everyone being mind-wiped, as of No Way Home to save the Multiverse, someone may find a way on while restoring the memories, he/or she will expose Mysterio as a fraud for framing Peter, while presumably restoring only for Peter for others as secret, but both him and his secret identity as Spider-Man for the people, such as The Avengers for safety.

  • Peter's memories weren't erased.

There will be Various Future Spider-Man Spin-Offs
Well, since Spider-Man is going to appear in his Prequel Series, there may be a few Spider-Man Spin-Offs in the future for MCU.

Someone will free the Visitors
Since The Visitors are heavily implied to be interested in coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and presumably Spider-Man. With them being considered as a Sequel Hook for the future despite being kept in the Multiverse as of No Way Home, it is surprising what they might do after being freed since fans are now excitedly hoping for it to happen in the future.
  • They aren't "imprisoned"; Strange just kept them from being brought into the MCU by the spell that was bringing everyone in. They're all on their original Earths, just like the other Peters and the cured villains.

Raimi-Verse Peter is the father of a possible MCU Spider-Girl
Unlike the Webb-Verse Peter, Raimi-Verse Peter has a relationship with his MJ. While the exact details on what that entails is left in the air, it's clear that he's the only Peter who's in a relationship come the end of No Way Home. Likewise, the final battle has him notably wounded. Perhaps this is akin to the Spider-Man of Earh 982 (a.k.a., the M2 imprint), where an injury ended his web-slinging career and he settled down with MJ, only to find about two decades later that his powers were inherited by his daughter, May.

The second trilogy will have Peter mentoring younger heroes.
Maybe not in the first installment - it'd be nice to have a film with Spidey as a solo hero to establish his new status quo properly. That being said, it would be a nice change of pace from the "Home" trilogy, and alleviate the complaints about Holland!Peter being too dependent on older heroes. Last but not least, it'd be a good lead-in to Miles taking over the webs if the franchise runs long enough (and if Marvel and Sony want to go in that direction).

Dr. Strange’s original spell is still in effect
The second mind wipe spell did not cancel it. It only stretches the effects to a steady stream of multiverse visitors instead.
  • But we saw the other Peters, Octavius, Osborn, Marko, Dillon, and Connors all be sent back. If the first spell was still bringing in people from other universes, why would it send them back at the same time? On top of that, the second spell simply makes people forget Peter Parker, so these people taken from other worlds would still be able to tell that things aren't right for them. Also, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the second spell, which was cast in order to stop the chaos of the first spell in the first place.

Nobody really "forgot" Peter Parker
The memories are just locked away in the subconscious, and if Peter were to try to rekindle a relationship with Ned and MJ, they'd eventually resurface.

Peter will use an alias in place of "Peter Parker" in future films
And that alias will be Ben Reilly.

In the second trilogy, a young adult Peter Parker will encounter a young man running a bio-engineering startup and a pretty blonde, maybe at the same startup, that takes an interest in him.
  • Obviously, these would be the MCU versions of Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy, respectively. Peter will have misgivings about forming bonds with either of them for reasons that would be apparent to anyone who has watched the movie. That is, his own losses as well as some knowledge of the fates that befell each in other universes.

Wanda wasn't affected by the spell that erased everyone's memory of Peter Parker.
Because she didn't know his secret identity to begin with. In fact, most of the Avengers didn't. The only ones who ever directly interacted with him were Star-Lord, Tony, Strange, and Captain Marvel. I don't think there's a signle person on the Avengers outside of those 4 people who interacted with him directly. Much less knew his name. On top of that Wanda is more powerful than Strange as confirmed by Agatha in WandaVision. Why would a spell by a lesser sorcerror affect her? When she encounters him again, he'll expect her to not know him, which will lead to the Wham Line of her calling him "Peter" and reveal she can safely restore people's memories of him while also protecting his secret identity. It will also be revealed that Wong COULD have done it since he's technically Sorcerror Supreme but he didn't want any part of it.

Additionally, The Guardians, Thor, and anyone not on Earth who knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man weren't affected.
When casting the original spell, Strange specifically says "The entire world" is about to forget that Peter is Spider-Man. Maybe because he didn't think that far or maybe because Marvel INTENTIONALLY worded it that way. If the final spell works the same way, then Thor, the Guardians, Captain Marvel, and anyone not on Earth, will still remember Peter when they see him again.
  • Previously suggested in WMG. See "Nick Fury and those off-planet still remember Peter Parker." Under same folder.

Michelle doesn't use Watson because she's not actually Mary Jane, whereas a Truer to the Text version of her is still out there
She admits she does not use the name Watson, implying she has some bad beef with one side of her family. It's possible the Watson belongs to a stepfather, whom she has a less than favorable relationship with. This will pave way when he meets Mary Jane, who has that last name because she's from the stepfather's family, creating some tension and confusion for Peter.

Jameson will be subjected to the very tactics he used
Someone will launch a smear campaign on him based off flimsy or even forged evidence and go on constant tirades about how The Daily Bugle is evil and terrible (which isn't too far off).

Naturally, JJJ will be oblivious and won't ever think that if this is wrong, what he's doing against Spider-Man isn't right either.

The event from the first act will be used as set up for Armor Wars.
  • The EDITH drones and the investigation will be used against Stark Industries along with Ultron as examples why they shouldn’t think that Tony keeping all his Iron Man tech to himself was ever a good idea.

WE, THE AUDIENCE, were among those appearing in the sky.
Everyone across the multiverse who knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man... that includes us tropers!
  • Dangit, why did Dr. Strange have to stop us from coming??? I was looking forward to it!

It will not be the last time we will see the opaque figures of The Visitors
Despite them being kept in their universes from entering in the Multiverse, since The Symbiote will be finding Peter, Kraven will likely be going to enter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sometime in the future. Since his role was teased in No Way Home. Since they are also considered as a Sequel Hook, it will be heavily implied that they will return.

The Visitors are from the same universe as Classic Loki.
The villains shown in the sky all resemble their classic Silver Age counterparts, just like Classic Loki. Perhaps they hail from a universe that's entirely based on the Silver Age itself?

There will be a Gender Flip version of Eddie Brock in the MCU.
Comic book writer David Michelinie conceived Venom as a woman who lost her family in an accident indirectly caused by Spider-Man. This drives her mad and the symbiote finds her. Boom Venom. Why was this not used? Marvel believed that "readers wouldn't take a woman seriously as a threat to Spidey", AKA late '80s sexism at work. Instead, Eddie Brock was created and the rest is history. Perhaps the symbiote would find a female version of Eddie Brock in the MCU, the two would come together and create She-Venom.

There will be a Gender Flip version of Norman Osborn
Well, No Way Home confirmed that an MCU Norman Osborn doesn’t exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for some reason, except, since the MCU does have some Gender Flip versions, it is likely that an alternate MCU Version of Norman, was just hidden.

There will be a Gender Flip version of Harry Osborn
Well, No Way Home confirmed that an MCU Harry Osborn doesn’t exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for some reason, except, since the MCU does have some Gender Flip versions, it is likely that an alternate MCU Version of Harry, was just hidden.

Given how these versions of Peter and Eddie either would be, or already have been positive influences, it could turn out as a Good Counterpart to Carnage (which already borrowed part of its backstory), while the MCU's enviromental properties (like what it did to Electro) could possibly cause it to turn white and gain other abilites.

Peter will end up encountering Luke Cage

The first film in the next trilogy will introduce a new young hero who Peter could befriend

MCU Spider-Man will be transported into another universe in the future
While we don’t know yet about it, since Sony did confirm that he will appear in the future for Sony's Spider-Man Universe, this might imply that he might get transported there.

Someone will call Peter out for thinking erasing his identity was a good idea
Since it turned out while he did it to save the multiverse, including two other things, it was just for nothing, it is likely that someone, maybe the Symbiote, will call him out on it, without being aware of the sixth visitor.
  • Why wasn’t it a good idea? It was the only call since not only was he in danger but his loved ones, Peter was not someone who would be able to handle having a public identity.

Someone will restore everyone’s memories of their moments with Peter
While Peter did had Strange use the memory-erase spell to have everyone that knows him as Spider-Man, this was only to save the multiverse, including the Visitors (due to them being forced into going to his universe), and to save everyone he has love. So, until we figure out how long it will happen, it is likely someone will try to restore everyone’s memories of Peter together.

MCU Vulture got transported to the Sony’s Spider-Man Universe
If there is any possibility on how he somehow got transported to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. It is likely he presumably got transported right after the memory wipe spell went wrong.
  • Confirmed, in Morbius. But the context of his appearance in that movie is very jarring with the logic of the spell in No Way Home.

The stinger isn't introducing Venom into the MCU, but a different symbiote entirely.
  • Since Carnage came about from Cletus ingesting some of Venom, we haven't actually seen normal symbiote reproduction; it's possible the piece left behind was Venom's spawn. This would make sense in light of Strange's spell, since the newborn symbiote wouldn't know Peter Parker was Spider-Man and thus be unaffected by it.
  • Another, more terrifying, possibility is that the bit left behind contained the last, undigested remnants of Carnage (who, like the point above, wouldn't be sent back by Strange's spell).

Peter is going to Take a Level in Smartass
After all the shit he's going through, he'll turn to sarcasm and snarking as a coping mechanmism to complete the Character Rerailment to a more comics-accurate personality.

The Spider-Sense will finally get it's name in Spider-Man 4 or a future sequel
Peter will, at some point, need to explain his fellow superheroes how he knows about impending dangers. Due to them forgetting that he is Peter Parker, he will have to rename his "Peter Tingle" to "Spider-Sense" to protect his identity.
  • Alternatively he stops using the name because it reminds him of May and is too painful

The real reason why so many people still consider Spider-Man a hero, much to Jameson's chagrin.
All the battle on the Statue of Liberty did (aside from just fill it with sand, which can be drained out of it) was break off the Captain America shield that most New Yorkers disapproved of adding. They lauded Spider-Man as a hero for destroying the unwanted addition to Lady Liberty, because they hated it that much.

Casting Possibilities for Venom
  • Tom Holland, who will both play the host and voice the symbiote just as Tom Hardy does in his series
  • Tom Hardy himself, since the MCU's version of the symbiote is a remnant of his Venom

Possible fates for the former villains and the other Peters
Almost all of the villains of No Way Home have a good chance of surviving. But it's unlikely they'll do so without consequences.

  • The least will change for the Lizard. He'll simply come back cured and will be arrested much sooner. Though maybe Captain Stacey will survive mitigating his punishment.

  • Sandman is in almost no danger of dying. However unless he keeps his head down he'll almost certainly certainly be arrested by Tobey's Spider-Man. This could lead to him repeatedly escaping and becoming an Affably Evil villain for No Way Home's Peter-2. Or he might be in a different universe where Spider-Man doesn't know how to easily defeat him.

  • Electro's situation may be more difficult but if he's able to end the fight he can resolve the power situation with his Spider-Man. He may then be able to help Garfield's Spider-Man defeat Harry and save Gwen. After this Garfield might try to keep Dillon from going to jail for his crimes and give him a chance at redemption. If not he probably becomes an outright Anti Villain who wants to be redeemed but isn't willing to go to/ stay in jail. If Electro can't pull a Sandman and gets imprisoned for life he probably wouldn't get out barring a breakout. If this breakout did happen Electro would probably become an outright if still sympathetic antagonist to Peter. It all depends on whether he can escape the full punishment of the law.

  • Dr. Octavius's case is much more dire. However he can probably resolve the fight with his Spider-Man. Then maybe he can stop the fusion reactor with the Arc reactor he brought with him. If not then if there's enough time Peter can maybe save both Otto and Mary Jane. If he does survive then he will almost certainly turn himself in. However he might be able to say that the arms were controlling him. If he is acquitted then he'll probably have the arms removed (probably as a condition for his release and for his comfort). He would then most likely become a mentor and friend for his Peter Parker. So he would still have lost everything but it's possible he can rebuild his life.

  • Norman's case is probably better than Otto's but he still has some unavoidable consequences. He is less likely to die since Tobey won't murder him and he won't kill himself. Most likely Norman would eventually be able to convince Tobey that he's been cured of the Goblin. Given his later treatment of Sandman Tobey would probably give Norman a chance. Even without his future character development he'd probably be prepared to believe that Norman wasn't completely responsible. However might still insist Norman be tried in which case the insanity plea is unlikely to work (since he cooperated with the Goblin and planned out several murders). If Norman is convicted then Harry will probably take over Oscorp and resent Spider-Man but not to the same degree. Norman might get a light sentence since he wasn't fully in control of his faculties. He probably would then be released in a few years and spend the rest of his life trying to recuperate. He'd be a broken man but probably be a permanently better person with his son and Peter Parker helping him. If he's acquitted (or if Tobey doesn't turn him in) he might actually become an ally of Spider-Man eventually. Then maybe he could help prevent much of the problems in the sequels. Such as maybe convincing Otto to abandon or more safely work on his reactor. He might even be able to help convince Peter to not use the symbiote since he'd be very wary of anything that could affect the mind. And of course he'd almost certainly be able to help Harry avoid his self destructive fate. Regardless of what happens Norman will have a long road to recovery and redemption.

  • Maguire Spiderman might return to a radically altered world due to time/dimensional travel if Norman, and Otto are alive as well as a reformed Sandman that would likely lead to Harry being alive as well. With a greater support network, will Maguire Peter marry MJ sooner? Do they have kids? Will Maguire Spiderman have new memories of the altered timeline or will he only remember the original one? Will he remember his kid(s) first word, birthday, etc? Does he even still live at the same place? Finally, does Maguire Spiderman return to the exact moment he was taken or has equal amount of time passed for in each dimension? If the latter, MJ might be freaking out along with everyone else who knows Peter is Spiderman unless a now living Norman or Otto gives them a heads up.

One multiversal visitor stayed in the MCU despite Dr Strange's spell.
Her name? Gwendolyn Poole

The spell transported versions of people who knew Peter Parker, at least in a significant way, to other universes
How else do we explain Vulture in Morbius?

The events of this film changed nothing about the Spider-Man Trilogy.
Norman's brief moment of clarity as he dies, and Otto's heroic sacrifice, are both the result of the events of this movie. Peter and Flint, meanwhile, return to where they came from — some point in time after the trilogy ended. I'm just being needlessly morbid, of course: as Otto has an arc reactor in hand when he leaves the MCU, we can assume this is not the case. And nothing so morbid can be theorized about the Amazing universe: Connors and Max will be returning in human form, quite different to how they left — though the timeline won't change much for Connors, as his No Way Home incarnation has the four-fingered hand he acquired near the end of his original appearance.

     Sequel Theories

MCU Venom will appear in Spider-Man 4
Given that a little part of the Venom Symbiote was accidentally left by Eddie when He and Venom get sent back to their universe by Doctor Strange’s Spell, it is implied that the Symbiote will become the MCU Venom that will appear in Spider-Man 4.

There will be an MCU Version of Eddie Brock will appear in Spider-Man 4
He will appear in Spider-Man 4, where he will be infected by the Venom Symbiote, where he will be turned into the MCU Venom.

There will be a third trilogy of Spider-Man
Given that the second trilogy was announced before Spider-Man: No Way Home was released, it is still possible that there will be a third trilogy after the second trilogy of Spider-Man is finished.
  • Instead of Peter, however, it will follow Miles Morales. Peter will act as a mentor to him, and might even have him take up the mantle so that Peter can live a normal life with MJ (if they ever get back together).

Gargan will become the MCU Venom.
  • When he returns instead of becoming the Scorpion through a robotic suit he gains the Symbiote.

The Symbiote will become a Villain Protagonist
Like its parent, including its host, Eddie Brock, in the Venom franchise, it may also serve as a Villain Protagonist while a Hero Antagonist in Spider-Man 4.

Part 1: Villains that Peter might face in the Second Trilogy
Venom
  • Scorpion
  • Morbius
  • Kraven the Hunter

Part 2: Villains that Peter might face in the Second Trilogy
  • Rhino
  • Carnage
  • Shriek
  • Tombstone

Part 3: Villains that Peter might face in the Second Trilogy
  • Black Cat
  • Deadpool
  • Spot
  • Morlun
  • Jack O'Lantern
  • Calypso

Part 1: Heroes that might become Spider-Man’s Allies in the Second Trilogy
Since Peter’s Allies such as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Happy Hogan, Matt Murdock, and Dr. Strange have helped him during the First Trilogy, it is implied that a few old, present, and new allies of Spider-Man will help him in the Second Trilogy.
  • Gwen Stacy
  • Mary Jane Watson
    • Except, she will be the same character from Marvel Comics, and a separate character from MJ.
      • Seems unlikely. No Way Home established that Michelle is the MCU's version of MJ, with Michelle's last name being revealed as "Jones-Watson".
  • Liz Toomes
  • Miles Morales
  • Harry Osborn
  • Eddie Brock
  • Venom
    • While the symbiote is presumably going to host and bond with Peter, it is implied that since his father, SSU Venom has defeated villains such as Riot and Carnage in the Venom franchise, the symbiote may help Peter as well.

Part 2: Heroes that might become Spider-Man’s Allies in the Second Trilogy
Since Peter’s Allies such as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Nick Fury, Happy Hogan, Matt Murdock, and Dr. Strange have helped him during the First Trilogy, it is implied that a few old, present, and new allies of Spider-Man will help him in the Second Trilogy.
  • The Falcon
  • The Winter Soldier
  • Captain Marvel
  • Cloak and Dagger
  • Squirrel Girl

Part 3: Heroes that might become Spider-Man’s Allies in the Second Trilogy
Since Peter’s Allies such as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Happy Hogan, Matt Murdock, and Dr. Strange have helped him during the First Trilogy, it is implied that a few old, present, and new allies of Spider-Man will help him in the Second Trilogy.

An MCU Gwen Stacy will appear in the second Trilogy
Since MJ serves as Mary Jane, an MCU of Gwen will presumably appear in the second trilogy of Spider-Man, where she will appear as Peter’s classmate and later as his love interest.

Miles Morales will appear in Spider-Man 4
Since he was mentioned by Electro during the film, this might indicate that this will set up Miles Morales as Spider-Man for a Sequel Hook for him in the future.

A Villain in the second trilogy will give Spider-Man a Kick the Dog Moment
If he/or she takes down Spider-Man, they will taunt Peter for not having no parents, no uncle or aunt, or anyone, saying that he is alone with nobody even knowing who he is.
  • It will be similar to the 2012 Spider-Man Movie, where Lizard taunted the Webbverse Peter of being alone with no parents or uncle.

The Symbiote will be Affably Evil
Like how its parent, Venom was towards Eddie, as despite presumably finding Peter/Spider-Man, it will likely be friendly towards him.

The Symbiote will have a few some Pet the Dog Moments
Well, Venom did have some of his moments where he helped Eddie, such as comforting him and befriending him. So, The Symbiote likely will have its moments where it will comfort Peter.

The Symbiote will have a Heel–Face Turn
Like how its parent, Venom has done, where it helped Eddie stop his Symbiote species from invading Earth, and stopping Cletus Kasady and Carnage. This will likely have The Venom Symbiote do the same with Peter, presumably to stop Scorpion.

Villains that will appear in the Second Trilogy of Spider-Man
Since most of the villains such as Kraven the Hunter, Rhino, Scorpion, and Venom’s were teased in No Way Home, it is implied that a few other villains will appear in the Second Trilogy of Spider-Man.
  • Venom
  • Scorpion
  • Morbius
  • Kraven the Hunter
  • Black Cat
    • Except, she will be an Anti-Villain like most of her counterparts.
  • Morlun
  • Silvermane
  • Screwball
  • The Jackal
  • Rhino
  • Chameleon
  • Mister Negative
  • The Green Goblin
    • Except, it will turn out to be the MCU Version that was hiding from the authorities.

The Symbiote will call out it's host, Peter, for not knowing about the sixth visitor, Venom/Eddie
While it will likely blame Peter for its arrival, it isn't going to be wrong about it, since the latter didn't even bothered to encounter it's parent and host, as the sixth visitor.

Possible Ideas for future characters for Spider-Man’s Second Trilogy
With there being a few possibilities on what might be happening for Peter’s next adventure, it is implied that their will be new future characters in the second trilogy.
  • Gwen Stacy
  • Harry Osborn
  • Norman Osborn/Green Goblin
    • Except this time, he will be an MCU Version.
  • Otto Octavius
    • Except this time, he will be just an MCU Version.
    • Raimiverse Octavius was a lot more personable and a decent person, with the tentacle AI driving him crazy. Classic comic Otto was not a nice man before the accident that bonded him to his tentacles, and only became worse as power and drive to prove himself corrupted him. So imagine MCU Peter meeting an MCU version of Otto Octavius, thinking he's a good person at heart like the Raimiverse version. . . and being very much mistaken.
  • Curt Connors
    • Except this time, he will be an MCU Version.
  • Flint Marko
    • Except this time, he will be an MCU Version, and as a separate character from Sandman.
  • Max Dillon
    • Except this time, he will be an MCU Version.

The second Spider-Man trilogy will be a Deconstructor Fleet towards the Spider-Man mythos as a whole.
Specifically, the Diabolus ex Machina elements of the franchise that always keeps Spider-Man miserable. This could also crossover with a helping of You Bastard! towards the elements of the fanbase that think only True Art Is Angsty.

The film will open with Peter taking down a few minor villains before we're introduced to the proper main antagonist
This is based on the storyboards for what would've been Sam Raimi's fourth Spider-Man movie, which depicted an opening montage where Peter would handily best several villains who were seen as not being able to fit the position of Big Bad (Which, ironically enough, included Mysterio). In this case, it'd be done to both showcase villains who aren't as iconic and, more importantly, to demonstrate how Peter's grown into/adapted since No Way Home. It could later be revealed that the actual main villain is at least partly responsible for the influx of other super criminals.

The next film will be called "A New Home"
So far, all films where MCU Spidey is the protagonist have the word "Home" somewhere in the title.

The MCU version of Norman Osborn will be revealed as one of the people behind the "Iron Patriot"
His Raimi counterpart not finding him will be explained away by his MCU version not naming his company Oscorp.

MCU Spider-Man will be having a few multiverse threats in the future
Despite using the Memory Wipe Spell to save the multiverse, his loved ones, including the Visitors while preventing them from coming after him, it does backfire due to not only The Symbiote coming after him, Mac Gargan presumably coming after him, MCU Vulture and Michael Morbius teaming up on forming a team, and presumably The Visitors that will presumably come after him as well. It is highly likely that he will be having multiverse threats again in his second trilogy.

The second trilogy will see Peter undergoing a dark arc under the symbiote’s influence
The ending of No Way Home plays Peter’s newfound isolation for tragedy, with the Spider-Man identity as the only thing left in his life. This will lead to Peter growing increasingly bitter, and thus susceptible to the symbiote’s influence. Compared to other iterations of the symbiote storyline, this Peter easily has the most valid reasons for becoming a darker character. Pulling out of that spiral will likely require him reconnecting with Ned and MJ.

Spider-Man 4 will center around a Black Cat and Symbiote arc
The conflict between Felicia Hardy and Mary Jane as Spider-Man love interests was always particularly interesting, especially since it occurred around the time Peter got the black suit that turned out to be the Venom symbiote. Black Cat liked Spider-Man but just didn't understand Peter Parker, to the extent she thought Spider-Man should just be Spider-Man and stop being Peter altogether. Mary Jane, in contrast, loves Peter and (somewhat grudgingly) accepts Spider-Man as an important aspect of who Peter is. Since The Stinger already sets up a possible symbiote storyline for the next film, adding Black Cat would be perfect to highlight the conflict between Peter Parker and Spider-Man, given the alterations to his character as a consequnce of this film. Peter will need to learn to balance both of his lives, and accept the love interest who helps the balance (MJ) instead of the one that pushes him further out of balance (Black Cat).

The symbiote won't return in the next film
While a lot of fans fully expect it to be what the next story revolves around, it's totally believable that they won't utilize the symbiote. At least not yet. While the post or mid credits scenes often do set up what'll happen in the sequel, there are others that still have yet to amount to much. A notable (and relevant) example of this is the one from Homecoming that showed that Mac Gargan is gunning for Spider-Man. With this in mind, it wouldn't be shocking if creative team of the next film won't feel obligated to follow up on the symbiote if they have a different story in mind where it wouldn't necessarily fit in. Plus, that build up anticipation for when they do follow up on it.

A mind-wiped Ned will find Norman's discarded Green Goblin mask...and it will cause him to become The Hobgoblin
Ned will come across the remains of Norman's old Green Goblin mask which Ned will have little to no memory of meeting Norman Osborn (because of the spell). And unfortunately, the pieces of the mask wil infect Ned with Norman's altered DNA. Much like Norman, Ned begins to lose his sanity. He feels compelled to reconstructs the mask. And he ultimately becomes the successor to Green Goblin, the Hobgoblin.
  • Well, technically, Ned should remember the Goblin. After all, the spell only made people forget about Peter Parker, but Spider-Man lives on in their memories.

If Peter does get the Black Suit, the infamous "SHOCKEEEEEEEEEEEERRR!!!" moment will be recreated.
After all, Shocker does exist in the MCU...

The MCU version of JJJ will face some sort of reckoning
Given that in 2023, controversial media figures like Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson lost costly defamation lawsuits or their jobs, respectively, it only seems right that this version of J. Jonah Jameson face a reckoning of sorts as well. It could either be financial or, should he fund creation of Scorpion in this film like he did in the comics, criminal.
