Which one pointed first?note

  • As with the first film, the first frame after the opening logos is the approval stamp from The Comics Code.
  • One of Gwen's bandmates breaks the silence after her quitting by claiming she also plays drums.
  • When she's around her dad as Spider-Woman, Gwen does the same thing as Miles to mask her voice: affecting a slightly deeper, strained Brooklyn accent.
  • Because she's Seen It All, Gwen's not even fazed at how Renaissance Vulture is completely different from her Vulture, even pointing out how he looks like he's made of parchment. Instead, she perfectly breaks down how Renaissance Vulture wound up in her New York: he was enjoying coffee in his world when a portal opened up and spat him out in Gwen's. Vulture even admits that that's pretty much exactly how it went down.
  • Gwen and Renaissance Vulture discussing modern-day art while duking it out in the Guggenheim museum:
Gwen: Sidebar: Uh, maybe you could stop making a mess of the art exhibit for no reason?
    Vulture: You call this "art"!?
Gwen: We're talking about it, aren't we?
(Vulture decapitates the Balloon Dog, revealing smaller balloon dogs inside)
Gwen: I mean, it's more of a meta-commentary on what we call art, but it's also art.
    • This pretty much entails that Renaissance Vulture was wrecking the Guggenheim because of Culture Clash.
  • Gwen wastes no time taking all the wind out of Miguel's attempts to come across as dark and mysterious, to his obvious annoyance.
Gwen: I'm sorry, who exactly are you supposed to be?
    Miguel: That's classified.
Gwen: You're the Blue Panther. The Caped Blue-sader? Dark-Garfield. Macho Libre! (Miguel responds with increasingly annoyed negatives.)
    Miguel: I'm from another dimension.
Gwen: (feigned shock) You are!? Wooow. (deadpan) Actually, I'm not confused.
  • Miguel eating his own words right after saying he’ll handle the Vulture by himself when he gets blasted through some rubble at high speeds:
Miguel: It's alright, kid. I'll take it from here.
Gwen: (sees Vulture rising behind Miguel) Alright. Knock yourself out.
Miguel: W-why did you say it like that?note
    (Is sent flying)
    Miguel: YOU’RE NOT FUNNY!
  • As they're fighting Renaissance Vulture and keeping civilians safe, Miguel angrily tells Gwen that her adventure in the previous film could have destroyed the multiverse. And adds the adventures of Doctor Strange and "the little nerd back on Earth-199999" could've done worse.
    • Renaissance Vulture tries to pride on their conversation, but he’s met with a lockout from Miguel and Gwen, calling him nosy.
  • Lyla appears and asks Miguel if she should finally call in backup. Miguel looks like a grumpy child as he grumbles an affirmative. Lyla however, eggs on Miguel to say "please" louder. When he finally gives in Lyla says she had already called in Jessica, leading Miguel to growl in frustration.
    • Lyla then takes a selfie with Miguel. He has a bunny ear filter and still does not look pleased.
  • Gwen is utterly awed by Jessica Drew upon meeting her, being reduced to a fangirl stumbling over her words.
    Gwen: Will you adopt me?
    Jessica: What?
    Gwen: What? What?
  • Just like in the previous movie, one particular civilian's comment on a webbed-up helicopter that was moments away from crashing into the ground:
    Civilian: Yeah, I think it's a Banksy.
  • When we're introduced to the Spot, he enters a bodega to rob an ATM using his holes. It... doesn't go well.
Civilian: Who left this ATM in the middle of the street?!
  • The Spot begging the bodega owner to stop hitting him, as this was his first robbery and doesn't want his first robbery to be a bad experience for himself.
Spot: I was considered handsome by scientist standards.
  • After the bodega owner is trapped in a hole, Spot states that he isn't robbing the store, because the ATM doesn't belong to the store, but the bank, who are "the real criminals". The owner is unconvinced, since the Spot is walking off with the machine as he says this.
  • Once Spot realises Spider-Man has arrived, he exclaims "This is real!" and does a little happy dance.
  • When Miles arrives at the bodega to apprehend The Spot, he helps himself to a beef patty, and the store owner says it's free if Miles catches Spot. After Spot escapes, the man tells Miles he should just pay him now.
  • In the year in between the films, Miles apparently became a spokesperson for a brand of baby powder… for which he had to apologize on YouTube. He also grew a mustache… which came out through his mask. He apologized for that, too.
  • Miles narrates that he "doesn't dwell on" his absent Spider-friends...while filling his entire sketchbook with drawings of them (with the vast majority being of Gwen).
    • Gwen herself ends up getting a glimpse of these, and tells Miles with an amused smirk that she missed him, too (as he silently dies of embarrassment).
  • Also during Miles's montage, Miles has an Imagine Spot thinking about what would happen if he just reveals to his parents that he's Spider-Man. The imaginary Jefferson and Rio's reactions to the reveal is just gold:
Imaginary Jefferson & Rio: [lift up the couch in their way and embrace Miles heartily as the scene turns pink] We love you and accept you even though you've been lying to us for a year!
Miles: ...maybe in some other universe...
  • Miles trying to keep in touch with his parents by texting during the fight with the Spot is full of hilarious moments. The Spot incredulously (and given his powers, appropriately) says "you'll turn off your phone at the movie theater, but not while you're fighting me?!"
  • We get a glimpse of Jeff's messages to Miles of which he struggles to type correctly.
    Jeff: THIS IS IMPORKAGE—*IMFORFKANT—*IMPORTANT!
  • Before their fight, we get a rather...disturbing revelation.
Miles: So, is that a costume...?
The Spot: Unfortunately for both of us, this is skin.
    Miles: Oh, dang.
  • During Miles's first fight with him, Spot is constantly referred to as a cow. Eventually, when Miles is able to restrain him for a while, he pats him on the head patronizingly as text saying "Good cow!" appears with each pat.
  • Miles and the Spot fall into a store with a goose and cover the floor with soap suds. The two of them start slipping and falling over themselves because of the bubbles. Two kids wearing Spider-Man masks stare on, with the boy taking off his mask and saying, "I don't think I want this costume anymore."
  • Ganke in this film gets a brief, yet memorable gem of a scene:
    • First off, the fact that he's spending all of his time playing video games instead of doing schoolwork. The game he's playing appears to be Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which hadn't come out when the movie did.
    • In this same scene, we get this exchange between him and Miles as the latter is changing into his school clothes following his encounter with Spot:
Miles: There's a bad guy on the roof of the Peterson building. Can you call the police? Tell them to pick him up?
Ganke: I dunno, sounds like a slippery slope.
      Miles: Just this one time?
Ganke: It starts with one call, then it's walkie-talkies, synchronized watches, in a month it'll be a Spider-Signal, I'm not your guy in the chair!
Miles: [peeking back in the room] Are those my Jordans?
Ganke: ... I can't help it if we're the same size!
(Miles immediately webs them off his feet)
  • Miles finally staggers in (violently late) to the meeting with his guidance counselor and sags into his chair. His mother glares at him and he sits up straight. His father glares at him and he sits up more straight.
  • After hearing that Miles is getting a B in Spanish class, Rio chastises him in Spanish and snaps her fingers at him, with the effect of her finger snap making the colors of the Puerto Rican flag.
Jefferson: Whooo ... okay! (under his breath) Are you trying to kill your mother?!
  • Miles' mom is upset that he wants to go to college at Princeton because "it's too far."
Miles: New Jersey is too far from New York?note
  • After the fight with the Spot resumes, Miles and Spot crash into Jefferson's car with the ATM, which then lets loose all of the money inside... which all the onlooking students try to catch for themselves while Jefferson is trying to get them to take the fight away from the school.
  • The fact that the Spot was originally someone from a one-off gag in Into the Spider-Verse, being a random scientist far off into the background that Miles throws a bagel at during the Alchemax escape sequence. Special mention goes to his over-the-top yell as he's beaned by the bagel in his narration, dramatically yelling as if he got shot with a gun.
  • Jeff scolds Miles for not being a good enough role model (what with the block-wide path of destruction the fight's left). Miles tries defending himself, only for one of Spot's holes to then dump a police car, causing even more destruction.
  • When Jefferson expresses his concerns about Miles, unaware that he is speaking to his son in his Spidey outfit, Miles gives him some “advice” that he has presumably been holding in for a while:
Miles: (just barely under his breath) Maybe get off the kid’s ass-
    Jefferson: I’m sorry, what?
    Miles: What?
  • After that, Miles tries to give genuine advice to his dad "as an objective observer with no skin in the game" that he should let Miles "spread his wings, man" with an appropriate arms-spreading pose. Later in the movie, Jefferson repeats Miles's very same advice to Rio, complete with the same arms-spreading pose.
  • Whenever the Spot starts talking about what he can do with his holes. Especially when it gets lampshaded by a civilian.
Worker: Can you please stop talking about your holes? You're making everyone uncomfortable over here!
  • Rio getting pressured into making a speech at Jeff's promotion party, despite clearly not wanting to at all, followed by Jeff's quiet "oh god, no!", and Rio's... attempt at a speech proving their fears were entirely justified. Cringe Comedy at its finest.
  • When Miles finally arrives at the party, his spider-sense warns him about his parents being close-by, implying it will go off if they're pissed enough at him.
  • Miles tries to lose his parents in the crowd at the party, only for them to suddenly appear in front of him. Blink-and-you'll-miss-it Miles does a confused Double Take at this.
  • Jeff asks Miles if he's hanging out with Ganke and states that he never liked him. Miles incredulously corrects him "Yes, you did." It's the tone of voice that indicates Jeff really did forget that and Miles has to remind him.
  • Jefferson and Rio expressing annoyance that Ganke calls them by their first names. They quietly but clearly express similar displeasure when they meet Gwen and she does the same.
Rio: (beat) Oh, you're using my first name... okay!
    • There is also a running gag of them extending the time Miles is grounded throughout the movie. When Gwen promises to bring Miles home at the end, Rio asks her to tell him that they love him… and that he’s grounded for five months.
    • Rio in general does not have a positive reaction to Gwen's presence and clear Unresolved Sexual Tension with Miles, strictly from the standpoint of being a mother seeing her baby boy growing close to a girl she doesn’t know well enough, even subjecting Gwen to some gender-inverted Twerp Sweating!
    • Rio returns Gwen's sweater to her and asks her in an uncomfortable voice: "We found it in Miles' room, so... I guess you must have been there, huh?" You can practically hear the accusatory tone in her voice wondering if this girl is fooling around with her son.
    • Miles introduces Gwen to his parents as "Gwanda".
    • When Jeff tries to say using his first name is not okay and gives his rank, Gwen gives him an adorable little salute in response.
  • While the scene of Jeff and Rio absolutely losing it at Miles is heart-rending, inbetween it cuts to the DJ, who can see what's happening and tries desperately to turn the music up so no-one will hear. When this fails, it cuts back to him with a Thousand-Yard Stare.
    • During the argument, Jeff also engages in some fine parental hypocrisy, saying Miles doesn't even have a driver's license.
      Miles: Neither does mom!
Jeff: Because we live in New York and never plan to leave.
  • During the scene where the Spot creates a miniature particle collider, he makes several goofy comments about how terrible he is at branding and how much he loves science. Then there's his lines when he activates said miniature collider.
"This should work! ...Or vaporize me and everything in this building. ...[Oh, what the heck / Which, would not be good]."note  [pokes dark matter] "I did it!" [begins absorbing dark matter] "Ablublublublublub..."
  • Of the worlds The Spot peeks into when exploring his interdimensional capabilities, he visits a stop-motion world Built with LEGO where he causes some slight chaos, and then the live-action Sony's Spider-Man Universe where he meets Mrs. Chen, who is not startled at all.
    • True to Lord and Miller’s previous LEGO endeavors, the LEGO-verse Spidey makes his own sound effects when contacting Miguel.
    • Miguel tells LEGO Spidey, in a completely serious tone, that he's "one of our best". The leader of the Spider Society himself thinks that a toy is one of the best Spider-Men in the multiverse. (Though let’s be honest, there has to be some bias on the filmmakers’ part.)
    • When the camera pans up to LEGO Spidey after the Spot caused a car to crash into the LEGO Daily Bugle, one of the civilians can be heard asking "Does anyone have the instructions for this building?"
    • The cherry on top of this scene is the reused voice clips of J. K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man Trilogy.
Lego!Jameson: Tomorrow morning, Spider-Man, page 1, with a decent picture this time.
      Lego!Peter: You're absolutely right, boss, I'm-
      Lego!Jameson: Shut up.
      Lego!Peter: Uh huh.
      Lego!Jameson: GET OUTTA HERE!
Lego!Peter: You got it, boss, I'm outta here! (under his breath) God, I need a raise...
  • One billboard in Brooklyn displays a drink simply called "Soda", with the logo being "It's a generic brand."
  • When Miles is desperately trying to get to his dad's party with the cakes, his train is stopped by the Armadillo. The villain looks hyped up to fight when Spider-Man gets off the train, but Miles casually pokes him with a Venom Shock, and punts him away like a soccer ball in less than a few seconds. The growing exasperation on Miles' face as he has to halt his cake delivery in order to stop crime from happening with a tired "you've gotta be kidding me" expression.
  • Miles requesting for a cake with an overly-long icing message to congratulate his father's promotion, which ended up becoming two cakes long. His later mishaps in carrying the cakes to the party ends up ruining the icing anyways, reducing the words left to simply "I’m not proud".
    • There's also this exchange Miles has with the bakery worker when he first realizes that his message can't fit on one cake.
      Miles: Can't you write smaller?
Bakery worker: (glaring at him) Can't you write shorter?
    • Part of Miles' message that he tells the baker to write on the cake is, "I'm so proud of you today, and every day (mostly, LOL.)"
  • There's the Running Gag of a different version of J. Jonah Jameson popping up in each universe, either offscreen or in small cameos. The real kicker? They're all voiced by J. K. Simmons. It's as if Simmons' portrayal of the character is so definitive that he's just a constant in every timeline.note
  • In the teaser trailer, one of the items that starts floating when Gwen opens the portal to Miles' room is a pair of tighty-whities. Naturally, Miles quickly hides them under his pillow before his crush can see them.
  • While exploring Miles's room, Gwen spots an action figure in its packaging, and Miles explains that it's an extremely rare collector's item. She then asks why it's still in its boxnote ; cue Miles and probably every toy collector in the audience staring in abject horror as she casually rips open the box before placing the action figure on the shelf and patting its head. Miles reacts if he's been stabbed when the box is opened, and he has to say "That's fine" through a gritted smile.
  • After hugging Miles, Gwen playfully bumps his arm and remarks that he must have hit a growth spurt. She then cringes at herself, apparently embarrassed by her own words. There's also the implication that she was clearly impressed with how much he had indeed grown and felt briefly flustered because of this.
  • This exchange.
    Miles: Who's Miguel?
Gwen: A ninja vampire Spider-Man, but a good guy.
Miles: A vampire good guy? I'd pay good money to see that.
  • Rio tries to casually talk to a sulking Miles after the awkward meeting between them and Gwen.
Miles: I can hear you being quiet, Mom.
Rio: I, um... hope I didn't ice your game, man.
Miles: No one my age says those words in that order, Mom.
  • Miles races down the fire escape, taking off his clothes to reveal his Spider-Man suit. As he gets to the ground and starts to unzip his pants, he hears a dog barking and looks up. A passerby has their phone up with their flashlight on, holding it up towards Miles. Miles slowly zips his pants back up.
  • Pavitr Prabhakar introduces himself as an easy-going Spider-Man... that is, until Miles attempts to find common ground by saying he also enjoys "chai tea", to which Pavitr begins admonishing him for basically saying "tea" twice. (This is even a Call-Back to an earlier scene, where Miles wonders why people call it an ATM machine when ATM stands for Automatic Teller Machine.)
Pavitr: "Chai tea?!" "Chai" means "tea", bro! You're saying "tea tea!" Would I ask you for a coffee-coffee with room for cream-cream?!
    • As Pavitr admonishes Miles for this error, Miles keeps pouring chai in his cup until it spills out.
    • When introducing Mumbattan, Pavitr shows off its sights... traffic, more traffic, even more traffic, yet more traffic, and the museum where the British stole all their stuff. He also flips the bird with both hands while saying that last one.
      • The fact that, despite being the ones to colonize New York, apparently India still had problems with British Colonization.
    • Pavitr talks about his morning routine. He skips the workout because he doesn't want to get too buff and he does nothing to his naturally wavy hair. Miles sounds a bit envious as he asks if Pavitr actually doesn't use any products. Pavitr then admits to using some coconut oil, prayer and having good genes.
    • Later on, the Spot says that he's in Mumbattan on a "journey of self-improvement", to which Pavitr begins yelling at him for being yet another American on a Journey to Find Oneself in India: "Don't Eat, Pray, Love me, bro!" The Spot tries to de-escalate, and when Pavitr sarcastically says that next he'll start talking about "naan bread" and "chai tea", the Spot replies, "Oh, I love chai tea!"
Pavitr: (instantly leaping straight at him) NOOO!!!
    • When gushing about his girlfriend, Pavitr is shown trying to make a move on her… as her father, Police Inspector Singh is approaching. What’s hilarious is that his Spider-Sense warns him about this “danger” just barely on time, and they quickly split up.
Pavitr: Police Inspector Singh, this is your daughter; I do not know her.
  • Pavitr, Gwen, and Miles team up and get ready to rush The Spot. He calls for Spider-Man, causing all three of them to look around in confusion and ask which of them he's referring to. Miles suspects he is being referred to, and The Spot immediately agrees.
  • Pavitr immediately senses the chemistry between Miles and Gwen, immediately pointing out Miles must be in love with her to have followed her despite not being invited into the Spider-Force. He even gushes about it as they swing around, with the two obviously denying and downplaying Pavitr's claims.
Pavitr: This romantic tension is so palpable! Will they, won't they? (fanboying over the two) How can you guys even concentrate?!
  • Miles tries to concentrate and use his Venom Shock while pressing his fingertips against the shield to Collider. Gwen and Pavitr start rapidly asking Miles questions on what they should do to help and he pleads for them to let him concentrate.
  • Part of Hobie's introduction has his face covered with a drawing of a Spider-Man mask on paper when he takes his mask off, asking why he would expose his true identity to the audience. He claims to hate the AM and PM, with an image of someone throwing pie at a crying baby's face pasted onto a cop's body.
    • During his saying he's not a role model, he's being swarmed by cops and briefly flips the bird, with a dead bird sticker covering said gesture.
  • Miles literally has to sit down while comprehending Spider-Punk's convoluted, contradicting introduction whilst Gwen and Pavitr are fighting Spot in the background.
  • Miles can't help but throw a jealous quip the moment he meets Hobie.
  • Hobie informs Gwen she left a sweater at his place, with Miles knowing that she left one in his room as well, leading to some... unfortunate implications.
Miles: How many sweaters do you have!?
Gwen: Oh, that's— That's not mine, I'm sure.
    Hobie: ...and a toothbrush.note
    Miles: Wait, what!?
Hobie: (to Gwen) Are those my chucks?
  • Miles points out how Hobie is contradicting himself when he says he doesn't believe in teams despite being in a band. Hobie, as he's being strangled by The Spot replies that he doesn't believe in consistency.
    Miles: This guy's killing me.
  • The gang try to prevent The Spot from merging with the collider with Miles getting the others to tell The Spot he's not a joke villain anymore.
Miles: You're not a joke! Right, gang?
    Gwen: Absolutely!
    Pavitr: Completely unamusing!
Hobie: I don't believe in comedy! (beat) Just kidding!
  • Though it's followed by one of the most nightmarish sequences in the movie, Pavitr flagrantly Tempting Fate after The Spot merges with Mumbattan's Super Collider and seemingly disappears is hilarious, especially since Miles, Gwen, and Hobie all immediately try to shut Pavitr up in response. It's as if The Spot only reappeared immediately afterward just so that Pavitr would be Instantly Proven Wrong. Is it any wonder this moment became a meme?
Pavitr: Well, that was another easy adventure for Spider-Man.
(Miles, Gwen, and Hobie let out a Rapid-Fire "No!" before all four are flung back by The Spot exploding back into existence)
  • When the Alchemax building starts to collapse, Miles takes charge and tells Gwen and Hobie to hold the building back while he and Pavitr clear out civilians. Hobie agrees in his own inimitable manner.
Hobie': I'll do it, but not because you told me to!
  • When one of the buildings in Mumbattan starts to sink through a portal:
    Miles: What is that?
Hobie: It’s a metaphor for capitalism.
  • A small running gag of people telling Hobie to do something, with him following up with a retort that he will do the thing, but not because that person asked him to.
  • Jessica informs the entire group she's taking them back to HQ.
Hobie: (slinging his arm around Miles) I don't follow orders, and neither does he.
Miles: I'm invited to HQ? Whoo! (Hobie facepalms in disappointment)
  • The Running Gag of Hobie overshadowing Miles peaks when he takes his mask off to reveal he is a handsome, cool-looking guy with piercings. Miles is in awe.
Miles: How are you even cooler under your mask?!
Hobie: I was this cool the whole time.
  • There are multiple references to Miles being jealous of Hobie throughout the film. Blink and you'll miss it, but when Miles flirts with Spider-Byte, Gwen is quick to tag him with a webshooter and yank him back with prejudice. Jealous, much?
    • Pay attention, and Gwen wears an annoyed or sad expression through the entire part that Miles interacts with Spider-Byte, suddenly being in a hurry for them to keep moving even though she's otherwise reluctant to take Miles to Miguel. Her finally yanking Miles away while he lingers and shoots Spider-Byte a charming smile was just the icing of the moment. The script for the movie basically confirms that Gwen felt jealous at this part.
    • Miles introducing himself to Spider-Byte as Spider-Man. She responds with a sarcastic "Whoa, no way! All of us are."
  • The tour of HQ involves Miles being shown the multitude of villainous variants imprisoned there. They have several Kravens, Doc Ocks, Mysterios including Mooseterio and a Distaff Counterpart known as Miss-Terio, "a really boring Rhino" (an ordinary rhinoceros), some video game guys (being supervised by Insomniac’s Spider-Man, fittingly), and a live-action version of Aaron Davis.
Insomniac's Spider-Man [when the "video game guys" are pointed out]: Are you... talking to me?
    • There's so much meta humor to be had in Spider-Verse Miles meeting Donald Glover, the man who inspired his creation, voiced him in one universe, and plays his uncle Aaron in another.
  • Hobie tries to claim credit for capturing the Live-Action Prowler, only for Gwen to correct him that she did all the work. Meanwhile, a jealous Miles questions just how many missions have both of them been on together.
Live-Action Aaron: It's rude to stare.
    Hobie: Caught that one myself.
    Aaron: I slipped.
Gwen: You weren't...! Okay, I did all the work!
Miles: How many missions have you been on together!?
    Gwen: Oh, not that many.
    Hobie: Couple dozen.
  • One of the Spider-Men in Miguel's organization is a sentient dune buggy Spider-Man, who is identified as Peter Parkedcar.
  • Spider-Byte shows Miles how the Go Home machine works. Hobie snarks that it's "super humane and not creepy".
  • Hobie casually nicking items from around the lab in plain view, even joking to Miles he bets the items he stole doesn't even do anything. Miles points out it probably did do something before he took it off the wall.
  • As they walk to see Miguel, Jessica notes how Miguel likes the empanadas at the food court. When they finally get to Miguel, Miles is holding a to-go box with said food inside. Kid's ready to make a good first impression.
  • When Miles is introduced to Miguel, his Mission Control platform starts to ominously lower... really, really slowly. It takes so long, Miles is tempted to ask Gwen if it's supposed to take that long, only for Gwen to imply that not only is this normal, but everyone gets this kind of introduction and asks to humor him because he thinks it's impressive.
    • It also shows that as big of a badass Miguel is, no one takes his angsty bravado seriously. Peter B. Parker even mocks him to his face that he's the only Spider-Man with No Sense of Humor.
  • We finally get our Title Drop when Miguel is telling Miles about the Canon of events that links all the Spider-People together.
Miguel: This here? This is all of us. All of our lives, woven together into a beautiful web of life and destiny.
    Miles: The Spider-Verse...
Miguel: "Spider-Verse?" Huh, that's... stupid. It's called the Arachno-Humanoid Polymultiverse.
    (Miles gives him a look)
Miguel: Which sounds... stupid, too, I guess...
    • Miguel naming it the Arachno-Humanoid Polymultiverse when a T-Rex, a cat, a horse, and a car are part of the Spider Society.
  • Hobie continues to be of no help and generally being a headache for Miguel. Jessica even points this out as Miles is being detained, which Hobie takes pride in.
    Jessica: Hobie, you're not helping.
    Hobie: Good.
    • A few seconds later, Miles uses Hobie's advice to break out of the cage. The subsequent shocked beat is broken by Hobie chuckling once. It's somehow both sarcastic and incredibly smug at the same time.
  • During the meeting with Miles, Miguel can barely contain his frustration and contempt for Hobie and Peter B. Parker's constant interruptions.
    • Specifically, Peter B. shows up in a bathrobe with Mayday, who has gained her powers in infancy and is quite the handful. While Peter is struggling to get her off the walls, Miguel is holding his face muttering "No puedo más, no puedo más, no puedo más (I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore)..." to himself.
  • In the time Peter B had Mayday, he has become a full Doting Parent. Grabbing anyone within webs or arms reach to show them all of the baby pictures he took of his daughter whether they want to see it or not. He even tries to get Miguel to look at some of the pictures, which he refuses to do.
Peter B.: This is her thinking face. No wait, that's her angry face. Oh, you're gonna love this one!
    • Peter successfully shows Gwen and Miles all the pictures. They try to get him to stop by pointing out that Mayday is right there; they don't need to see pictures. He ignores them.
    • Mayday starts treating Miguel as her personal monkey gym with Miguel continuing to stoically look onward, ignoring her. When she slips and falls, he instantly catches her and hands her to Peter without changing his expression one iota.
  • When Mayday first appears and generally being chaotic, Hobie amusedly remarks, "Kid's an anarchist."
  • Peter B loudly telling the other Spider-People that Mayday "took a crap" and he needs to change her.
Hobie: (while holding Mayday) Taking a crap on the establishment. I salute you.
    • Watch Mayday closely and you can see her nodding as though she's indicating "Yeah, you know it."
    • Based on Peter's remarks, the amount of crap Mayday just dropped after eating an avocado is apparently proof that she's a Parker.
  • Despite Miles' pride over his new suit, almost no one else likes it, including his mentor Peter B. Parker.
    • Even The Spot points out to Miles the suit looks tight around his behind and he should get it fixed up.
  • The big Spider-Chase:
    • As Miles flees, Miguel gives the order to every personnel to "drop what you're doing and stop Spider-Man". Cue every single Spider-Man pointing at each other as seen in the page image. After all, Miguel didn't specify which Spider-Man.
Miguel: Ay, coñonote , MILES, Miles Morales; he's entering sector 4!
(at the entrance to sector 4, Spider-Man 2211 walks in, with various Spider-People wondering if he's the "Miles" Miguel mentioned)
Spider-Man 2211: Do I, uh, have web on my face, what's the deal?
Miguel: MILES! (2211 looks behind him to find Miguel racing towards him) He's right there, he's right- TURN! AROUND!
(2211 turns around to face Miguel, revealing that Miles is actually sticking to his clawpack)
      Spider-Man 2211: I don't see anything, boss.
(Miles' eyes dart towards the now-CONSIDERABLY larger group of Spider-People; his cover blown, all Miles can do is sheepishly smile and chuckle as Spider-Man's robo-arms reach behind him and feel his presence. Smash Cut to the ensuing chase)
      • When the Society reacts to Miguel's order, there's a Funny Background Event of a Spider-Person trying to drink through a straw and forgetting their mask is still on.
      • Despite Miguel's order for all personnel to stop whatever they are doing to catch Miles, a large portion of them (as detailed below) are shortly shown to have continued about their personal business anyways, apparently having ignored Miguel's orders.
    • Hobie obviously taking no part in following Miguel's orders casually walking into a portal back to his universe and saying, "Just for the record, I quit."
    • Miles is ambushed by Spider-Cat, who scurries all over his head like a real cat and then hacks up, rather than a hairball, a web ball at his face. Once Miles sounds done with Spider-Cat, Spider-Rex (Spider-Man if he were a T-Rex) leaps towards him, and we're greeted by a hilarious comic-style shot of Spider-Rex's tiny arms shooting web, complete with a "T-Whip!" Written Sound Effect.
Miles: Can this day get any damn weirder?!
(Spider-Rex appears and swings towards him)
Miles: (bemused) Huh, I guess it can.
    • The commissary apparently serves Spider-themed burgers. One Spider-Person was getting one with Miguel's mask patterned on the bun when Miles slips on it. A Spider-person gets the burger flung in his face and Miles has the time to turn around and shout "Sorry!" As this happens, another Spider-person lifts their hot dog away so Miles won't step on that too.
    • Going by the chase frame by frame shows more clearly that a Spider-character that gives Miles a lot of trouble is Spider-Monkey, who attacks Miles over and over again and he eventually has to pull him away from his face and throw him hard to finally be rid of him.
    • While being attacked by the monkey, Miles also runs into Web-Slinger who is simply chilling in a chair and is on his phone, only to be knocked over by Miles which apparently makes him mad enough to join the chase.
    • We see a Spider-Man talking to a psychiatrist Spider-Man... about Uncle Ben's death.
Distraught Spidey: (crying) And then... I looked at my uncle and...!
Psych Spidey: Ah... lemme guess: he died?
(the chase mob crashes right through the wall)
    • Even better, a Freeze-Frame Bonus reveals the psychiatrist Spider-Man to be Ezekiel Sims via the name on his diploma.
    • Before the chase starts, Peter B. reminds Mayday about her mask. Then he kisses her on the head and reminds her this isn't exactly the best parenting moment for him.
    • Web-Slinger catches Miles in his sights, causing Miles to jump on Widow. Web-Slinger then challenges Miles to a duel where both will draw at three... except Miles doesn't bother and simply webs Web-Slinger in the face on "one".
Web-Slinger (horrified): You didn't wait for three...!
      • Even though Miles "didn't wait for three", blink and you'll miss it Miles still briefly adopted the Western 'hand hovering over gun' pose.
    • A visibly angry Peter B. chases up to Miguel, sticking his cellphone out as if to show him something very important.
Peter B.: HEY! MIGUEL! Can you take a photo of this? It's her [Mayday's] first chase.
(Miguel ignores him while Mayday webs the phone to snap a photo.)
    • The Spider-Man of Earth-67 returns from The Stinger of the first film, attempting to dramatically Swing Kick Miles... before we cut to a wide shot that reveals that all his movements are painfully slow due to his Limited Animation, with Miles not dodging his Swing Kick so much as passing by it.
      '67 Spider-Man: Oooh, dang, I pulled something!
    • Miles dashes through the prison, where all the prisoners proceed to cheer him on… and boo the Spider-People. Special notice goes to a lingering shot of live-action Aaron giving out a low-energy boo.
    • Soon after that, Miles escapes through a training room where one Spidey is currently practicing the signature Crucified Hero Shot move of trying to hold two massive objects on different sides together with her webs. Miles accidentally steps on her head and awkwardly apologizes...which is then followed by the rest of the Spider-Society trying to cross her and her webs like a bridge. The training machine is completely overwhelmed and collapses (but it's worth noting that the Spidey never let go).
      • We also see Spider-Cat indiscriminately attack her rather than chase after Miles.
      • The very fact that the Spider-Society has a training room for its members to practice for exactly this sort of thing at all means that apparently, this scenario happens so often that a training room is required, and every Spider-person most likely has to go through it at least once in their careers. Must be a canon event.
    • Throughout all of this, Jessica Drew slips in a snide barb about Peter B. being "a terrible mentor" as Miles is slowly being cornered with apparently no plan in mind. He takes it very personally, and is quick to point out that he can't have been that bad when Miles repeatedly outmaneuvers his pursuers (including Jessica herself) in a very "my kid is better than yours" manner. Miguel eventually has enough of their banters and shuts the debate by calling both Peter B. and Jessica terrible mentors.
    • When running through the HQ's training rooms, various holographic cutouts of Spider-Man villains pop out of the floor. One of them is Doctor Octopus with Alfred Molina's voice.
      Doc Ock: Hello, Peter.
    • In a Freeze-Frame Bonus, it is revealed that — of all of the Spider-People chasing Miles — the freaking SPIDER-MAN POPSICLE is one of them.
      • This implies that even the Popsicle had a depressing Canon Event. Think about that for a moment.note
    • Miles eventually comes to a dead-end stalemate surrounded by Spider-People on the HQ concourse.
Metro Spider-Man: Stop. There's nowhere to run.
(Miles breaks out of a window and falls out of the tower)
Metro Spider-Man: My bad, everybody. There was somewhere to run.
    • Peter B. corners Miles for some private heart-to-heart chat...and also demands that Miles hold Mayday to make himself feel better.
Peter B.: Do you wanna hold my baby?
      Miles: What?
Peter B.: Will you just give the baby one squeeze and then we'll talk cause I think it's gonna change our vibe.
      Miles: NO!
      Peter B.: It's very rejuvenating!
      Miles: I'm plenty juvenated!
Peter B.: You'll get more so when you go chest-to-chest with this magical child!!
Miles: You don't get to have a heartfelt conversation with me right now!!
      Peter B.: JUSTHOLDTHEBABYANDWE'LLSEEWHATHAPPENS!!!
    • Then when Miles does actually hold Mayday, he awkwardly has her laid out over his hands. Peter B. laughs and notes that Miles is terrible at holding babies.
  • During the otherwise serious battle between Miles and Miguel on the Nueva York train, their battle briefly takes them onto the street below, where Miles and Miguel keep fighting before crashing onto different cars. Miguel stares daggers at the lady who's driving the car he crashed on, and she points to her side, where Miles swings out, yelling "Snitch!"
  • A Freeze-Frame Bonus around the Go-Home Machine reveals Miguel has explicitly coded in a command to just blow up the whole building the Spider Society operates in at any time with a single yes-or-no option; implying heavily that Miguel had it put in after one too many frustrating dealings with recruiting other Spider People — all of whom act like they are funniest person in the room — that he left the temptation to one day say "fuck it" and blow them all up (himself included) to Kingdom Come if they crack one more joke at him on a really bad day.
  • A Freeze-Frame Bonus as Miguel is barreling through all the different Spider-people after Miles venom blasted him shows that one of them (who even appears to be The Spectacular Spider-Man) brought Spider-Cat with him and is holding him to his chest.
  • Yet another Freeze-Frame Bonus will show that, since Miguel's suit is nano technology, Miles' venom blast causes it to malfunction and for a split second, Miguel is naked.
  • After Miles successfully escapes in the Go Home Machine, Peter B. tries to mediate the argument between Gwen and Miguel, and epically fails when he tries to have a heart-to-heart with Miguel.
Peter B.: Okay let's all just take a breath—
Gwen: Peter! You wanna back me up??
Peter B.: Well, okay. Miguel, as the father of a daughter and a son of a mother...
    Jessica: Yeah, actually, stop talking.
    Peter B.: Okay, duly noted.
    • Even while facing Miguel's wrath, Gwen is so exasperated by Peter's lame attempt to defend her that she rolls her eyes.
  • Although things go rapidly south shortly afterward, the Anti-Climax/Bathos of Miles finally deciding to reveal his secret identity to Rio is hilariously undercut when she apparently doesn't know who Spider-Man even is, asking if he's dressing as a character for "Comics Con."
    • Miles still doesn't know what Comic-Con is either.
    • As we find out a few minutes later, New York has become a horrifying dystopia on the edge of collapse without a Spidey to protect it from the villains. But apparently Comic-Con's still running.
    • And of course who else could be the mayor of this nightmarish New York City, but J. Jonah Jameson himself!
      • Hilariously on the radio, Jameson professes that if there was a vigilante around who could challenge the Sinister Six Cartel, then they would get the full support of the Daily Bugle... a complete opposite of Jameson's usual attitude to Spider-Man.
    • On the wall of Miles G's home, you can see a picture of Miles G. receiving the same embarrassing kiss from Rio that our Miles did before he went to school in the previous film (the "In a minute!" kiss), showing their lives are similar enough down to details like that. It was even more embarrassing for Miles G. as someone (presumably Jeff?) took a picture of the kiss and had it framed!
  • Consider the moment of Miles revealing his suit from Earth 42 Rio's POV, and it oddly becomes hilarious: to her, her son returns with a dramatic speech about how strong he feels and how they're in danger, only to reveal to her that he likes to dress up as some strange character called Spider-Man. It's no wonder Earth 42 Rio can't help but snicker at this and tease "her" son about it, having no further context of the matter.
Earth 42!Rio: Why don't you have eight arms? Do you push silk out of your culito?
Miles: I had a nightmare about that once, but no.
  • There's a darkly funny exchange just before Gwen and her father finally reconnect:
    George: Where have you been?
Gwen: I was just out... murdering all my friends.
  • When Peter B. puts Mayday to bed in her crib, she's dressed in Spider-Ham pajamas. She also has plushies of the Green Goblin and Doc Ock in her crib.
  • MJ comforts Peter B. about his self-doubt about parenting by noting that there's no playbook for raising a child like Mayday, or for being a superhero for the matter, before teasingly explaining what a playbook is, mentioning he was such a nerd back in school that she's not sure he would know. Peter B. takes the joke well, good-naturedly protesting that he still watched sports.
  • When Gwen tries explaining herself to Miles' parents after realizing that he's in the wrong universe, Jefferson Morales starts ranting angrily about whether her parents are criminals. When she tells him that her dad's a cop, however, he suddenly calms down and becomes much more conciliatory.
    • Before this, Jefferson has a moment where he loses patience with Gwen's mysterious behaviour and blurts out "Well, that's his jacket, Emo."
  • Mayday wakes up her father and points to Gwen appearing from Hobie's portal. Peter B. looks out the window and quietly tells Mayday not to mention this to her mother - Mayday, smiling, pulls down her knitted woolcap version of a Spidey mask.
  • Special mention has to go the movie's cliffhanger ending. There are multiple videos of audience members audibly groaning, shouting, or even swearing upon seeing the "To Be Continued" sign.
  • Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider's habit of narrating everything he does. The way this line in particular is delivered makes it sound like Andy Samberg is just making it up on the spot based on what's happening on-screen:
Ben Reilly: Possible disturbance in the alley... better go check it out. [Webs down] Now I'm here in the alley. But there's something unusual happening... looking at the walls, those are normal, but there's something in front of me. [Said something is a massive portal, which Ben is pulled into via web].
