Go To

Growing Pains is a Danny Phantom fanfic written by Flower princess11. It starts here.

Danny runs afoul of a man-obsessed ghost who turns him into a 24-year-old.

Tropes

  • 0% Approval Rating: Nobody likes Helena in the Ghost Zone or human world. Men fear her because she turns violent when they either reject her or fail to meet her ludicrously high standards. Women hate her for trying to steal their boyfriends and they just find her desperation annoying. The Ghost Zone residents only bother to learn where her domain is so they can make sure to AVOID it.
  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • Helena is infamous for being this, scaring off potential suitors due to her unstable personality and high expectations.
      • She even becomes this to adult Danny as Helena doesn't mind that he's still mentally a teenager since she finds his adult form really handsome and is perfectly fine with forcing him to marry her.
      • Helena doesn't waste any time becoming this to Vlad as well when he de-ages himself back to his college years. He finds her even more repulsive now that she has aged into an old lady.
    • Ms. Testlaff is one of "Dante's" admirers, much to Danny's horror.
    • Joan Baxter (Dash's mother) wastes no time in hitting on "Dante", much to Danny's dismay.
  • Accidental Misnaming: Cassandra Evergreen just can't get her assistant Lionel Lutz's name right despite having him work for her for three years. Even Danny can remember his name even though they only met once. Granted, she made it clear she doesn't care about Lionel's name.
  • Action Girl: Ember responds to Skulker's attempts to harass her into getting back together with him by beating the snot out of him and trashing his suit.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Andy's sexuality was never revealed in the show, but here he's bisexual as he's attracted to women and finds adult Danny handsome.
  • Alliterative Name: Chet Chamberson.
  • All Amazons Want Hercules: Ember is very much attracted to adult Danny's newfound power.
  • All Take and No Give: How Helena sees her ideal marriage, her husband doing all the heavy-lifting while she lives in comfort.
  • All Women Are Lustful: Practically every woman (human and ghost) who sees Danny falls instantly for him and tries to flirt and win him over.
  • And This Is for...: Trying to appease Helena, Danny tries to convince her to go after Vlad but she recognizes him as Plasmius' human form and blasts Danny, saying it's for wasting her time.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me:
  • Aroused by Their Voice: Danny's older self also includes a smooth, deep voice. It's another thing that makes women attracted to him. Him singing even resulted in some admirers fainting.
  • Awful Wedded Life: Its heavily implied that had Helena been successful, Danny (or ANY unlucky guy she caught) would have been absolutely miserable with her.
  • Bad Boss: Cassandra Evergreen is not a nice person to work for as she's very loud and demanding to her assistant Lionel Lutz. Plus, she can never get his name right despite knowing him for three years.
  • Bad Date: Ms. Tetslaff is apparently always in a bad mood when this happens, and takes her frustration out on her students.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For:
    • Danny got tired of being treated like a kid and wanted to see what being an adult would be like. Helena grants his wish by aging him 10 years as payback for insulting her age. Danny quickly finds adulthood tiresome because he has to deal with adult problems like money and grown women hounding him for his attention.
    • Vlad wanted to be young again, believing it would give him a chance with Maddie. He got his wish when he turned himself into his college age with Helena's pocket watch, but at the cost of losing his ghost powers and becoming the object of desire for an elderly Helena.
  • Beef Bandage: Pamela Manson places a steak on "Dante's" eye after he got injured, in an attempt to get closer to him.
  • Beleaguered Assistant: Lionel Lutz does not have it easy while working for Cassandra Evergreen due to having to deal with her tantrums when she doesn't get her way. She doesn't even respect him enough to remember his name.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Pamela does not tolerate anyone insulting her age.
    • One thing Skulker hates is anyone interfering with his hunting as he's mad at Helena for turning Danny into an adult.
  • Better Partner Assertion: The women who fight over Danny keep claiming to be this over each other by offering him wealth, gifts, food, and fame. Needless to say, he is not interested.
  • Big Little Brother: Danny is chronologically younger than Jazz but his Overnight Age-Up makes him much bigger than her.
  • Brainless Beauty: Bridgetta Romano mockingly implies Cassandra Evergreen is this after Danny rejects her. The fact that Cassandra thinks the Eiffel Tower is in Italy seems to prove it.
  • Brain Bleach: Danny wishes he had some after being hit on Miss Tesslaff, Principal Ishiyama, and even Dash's mother.
  • Bridezilla: Helena WOULD be one of these, and is referred to as one multiple times. However, she lacks an actual groom to qualify for this trope.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Half-ghosts who are de-aged by Helena's watch to a point from before having powers lose their powers until being aged up back to an age when they already had powers.
  • Brutal Honesty:
    • Danny has developed a habit of telling his admirers that he's not interested in any of them.
      • He makes it clear to Cassandra Evergreen he won't marry a stranger like her regardless of her looks, wealth, or fame.
      • Danny doesn't hesitate to tell Kitty he doesn't love her because of all the trouble she's caused him.
    • Bridgetta Eloise Romano loves speaking her mind, even to dangerous people like Vlad Masters, Ember McLain, and Kitty.
  • The Cameo: An elderly couple implied to be Kirk and Joy Strong briefly appear when Danny accidentally arrives in New York.
  • Canon Foreigner: Helena the Harpy didn't exist in the main series and was created specifically for this story. Cassandra Evergreen, Miss Romano, and Joan Baxter were also all created for this fic.
  • Cat Fight: Danny's admirers are quick to argue and pick fights with each other for his attention, the most notable being Ember and Kitty.
  • Character Development: Danny learns to appreciate his youth while it lasts and not be in such a rush to grow up after discovering adulthood is far from easy.
  • Chick Magnet: Deconstructed. As an adult, Danny becomes much more popular with women. He's uncomfortable with that since they're way older than his real self and are much more bold than he is used to.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: All of Danny's female admirers are this as they frequently fight with each other for his attention.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet: It takes Danny a little while to realize that women find his adult form very attractive, although he remains unaware that so does Sam.
  • Coquettish Lip Biting: Some women do this around "Dante", as they express their attraction to him. Kitty being one of them.
  • Control Freak: Helena, despite wearing a wedding dress, makes it clear that she wants to be the one wearing the pants in her ideal relationship.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: Helena is this to Emily from Corpse Bride. They're both undead women who are obsessed with getting married, but while Emily is a genuinely sweet girl who only wants love, Helena is a shallow and nasty gold digger who just wants a rich husband that fits her impossibly high standards. There is also their reputation among their peers; Emily is genuinely well-liked by and on good terms with the residents of the Land of the Dead whereas Helena is very unpopular and disliked by the residents of the Ghost Zone due to her horrid personality and obsessive man-hunting.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Danny's new Chick Magnet status has him dealing with a couple of these. The most notable being Sam's dad Jeremy, who does NOT like the attention his wife Pamela gives Danny and thinks she is trying to replace him with adult Danny given her obvious attraction to him.
  • Crush Blush: Lots of women, young and older, blush around Danny's older self.
  • Culture Clash: One of Helena's excuses for not caring about Danny's actual age for as long as he's physically an adult is that "marrying ages and relationships in the Ghost Zone are different for ghosts than they are in the human realm".
  • Defiant Captive: Even after Helena captures Danny and traps him in her realm in the Ghost Zone, he absolutely refuses to marry her.
  • Detrimental Determination: Helena desperately wants a husband and won’t take “no” for an answer so she refuses to give up, no matter how many rejections or beatings she gets from adult Danny.
  • Dirty Old Woman:
    • Sam's grandmother, Ida, expresses an interest in Danny's older self.
    • Helena lusts after the much younger Danny Phantom as a handsome adult, not caring that he still has the mind of a teenager.
    • Some of Danny's admirers (such as Pamela Manson, Harriet Chin and even his female teachers) who express attraction to him are all in their forties and don't seem to mind hitting on a guy in his mid-twenties.
  • Disguised in Drag: When Vlad goes to the private men's room at a VIP booth in Casa Di Alta Classe during Singles Night to transform, he meets a man who's disguising himself as a woman with the intent to hide from Helena.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Lots of women became distracted by "Dante's" good looks.
  • Distressed Dude: Danny is held captive in Helena's realm, requiring Team Phantom and Ember's help to escape.
  • The Dreaded: Helena is this in the Ghost Zone because the men are extremely put off by her unreasonably high standards while the women find her extremely annoying because of her desperation to get married. She also becomes this in the human world as the men are terrified of her, especially due to her violent temper.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: Almost all the women Danny encounters do this because they're drawn to his handsome features.
  • Enemy Mine: The Extreme Ghostbreakers and Groovy Gang are willing to put aside their differences to team up against Helena to fulfill their duty as ghost hunters.
  • Entitled to Have You:
    • Helena develops this attitude towards adult Danny as she has no problem forcing him to marry her.
    • Vlad is still this to Maddie as he's fine with trying to kill her husband and make her young without her consent just to make her his.
    • Cassandra Evergreen is a more comedic example as she wants to marry Dante solely for his looks and feels insulted that he rejected her, despite barely knowing each other.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Penelope Spectra sees a handsome ghost and hits on him. Upon discovering it's Danny, who was aged against his will and is still mentally a teenager, she's horrified.
    • As soon as Skulker hears Helena is around, he starts to look around in fear. As it turns out, even he finds the ghost annoying and unpleasant as hell.
    • Ember warns Danny about Helena's interest in his adult form, partly out of jealousy and partly because she believes even Danny is too good for someone as horrible as Helena.
    • Helena won't harass men who are gay.
    • Helena was banned from the annual Ghost Zone Christmas party after she nearly ruined the last one she attended ten years ago where she tried to make some ghost man leave the party with her, only for his girlfriend and Helena to nearly break the truce over it.
    • The Lunch Lady ghost finds adult Danny handsome but considers him too young for her.
    • Even the Lunch Lady finds Klemper annoying.
  • Even the Guys Want Him: Some men also admit that "Dante" is good looking, Andy being among them.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Danny and his friends consider Helena too picky about potential husbands but agree with her reasons for not wanting Vlad.
    • Danny refuses to take advantage of his attracting adult women, knowing he's mentally not fit for the kind of relationships they would want.
    • Even Clockwork finds Helena annoying, and he's one of the cool cats of the Ghost Zone.
    • Even if he didn't have the mind of a teenager, Danny wouldn't date a girl without getting to know her for at least a month.
    • Despite being rival ghost hunting teams, the Groovy Gang and Extreme Ghost Breakers are willing to put aside their differences to deal with Helena to complete their duties as ghost hunters.
    • While Sam finds Danny's adult form very attractive, she's still dedicated to helping Team Phantom turn him back into a teenager.
    • Frostbite is a Nice Guy and even he doesn’t like Helena.
    • Ida has never approved of Jeremy and Pamela’s marriage but doesn’t like Pamela flirting with adult Danny since she’s married to her son.
  • Everyone Went to School Together: Principal Ishiyama and Miss Tetslaff were roommates and classmates in college.
  • Evil Is Petty: Vlad is this as usual as he finds it hilarious that Danny is being harassed by his female admirers.
  • Eyelash Fluttering: Kitty is one of the girls who hits on Danny due to his new looks, and does this as she flirts with him.
  • Forceful Kiss: Ember and Kitty give these to adult Danny.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Tucker envies Danny for his newfound popularity.
  • Gold Digger: One requirement Helena looks for in a husband is that he's wealthy enough to look after her forever.
  • Hated by All: Nobody in the human world or Ghost Zone likes Helena because of her violent temper and obsession with getting married. Women hate her for trying to steal their boyfriends and men avoid her due to her awful personality. Ghosts make sure to learn where her domain is in the Ghost Zone just to steer clear of it. Only the birds in Helena's domain stick around her.
  • Head-Turning Beauty: Danny is apparently a male version of this trope as an adult.
  • He Is All Grown Up: Danny is much buffer and more muscular as an adult to the point of having 6-pack abs. Adult women are always commenting on his good looks and even Sam can't resist drooling over how handsome Danny is.
  • Hired for Their Looks: Dante's good looks get him job offers by various female admirers, careers he has no knowledge or experience in.
  • Hopeless Suitor:
    • Helena to any man who is unlucky enough to catch her interest.
    • Sam's mother to Danny's older self.
  • Human Popsicle: At some point when Danny fears being unable to make Helena de-age him, he considers freezing himself for ten years instead.
  • Hunk: Danny becomes this when he's turned into a 24-year-old.
  • Hypocrite: Johnny gets mad at Kitty for drooling over adult Danny even though, as she points out, he always hits on every attractive girl he sees.
  • Incompatible Orientation: Andy is bisexual and is one of Danny's admirers. Danny politely turns him down, explaining that he is only attracted to women.
  • I Didn't Mean to Turn You On: Danny unknowingly does this to a lot of women with his good looks. Even Sam can't resist drooling over his muscles.
  • Imaginary Love Triangle: Danny's female admirers fight with each other for his attention while not understanding that he has no interest in any of them.
  • In Love with Looks: The women adult Danny unintentionally attracts are mainly drawn to him for his good looks.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Vlad thinks using Helena's pocket watch to age Jack and turn himself and Maddie back to their college age will make her his, ignoring that this'll just make Maddie hate him even more than she already does.
  • Interplay of Sex and Violence: As long as her dress isn't ripped, Helena doesn't mind fighting adult Danny as she finds his strength impressive. But she does have a limit, especially when it's being hit in the face.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • While he's mainly motivated by jealousy, Jeremy is correct that Pamela shouldn't be hitting on Danny's older self as she's already married and is setting a bad example for their daughter. Even Sam and Ida side with him.
    • Cassandra Evergreen is correct when she tells Bridgetta Romano that Danny doesn't want to talk to her while they're in the Casa Di Alta Classe.
    • More blunt than jerkass, but adult Danny points out to Cassandra Evergreen how insane it would be to marry a total stranger since he doesn’t know her and no amount of beauty or wealth can change that.
    • Ida flat-out tells her family Pamela doesn’t have a chance with adult Danny.
    • Ida and Sam point out to Jeremy his anger at adult Danny is misplaced since it’s not his fault Jeremy's wife Pamela is swooning over him.
    • Pamela notices her daughter Sam is attracted to adult Danny and points out she’s too young for him (at least that what it looks like since Danny has the body of an adult at the moment, but Pamela doesn’t know he has the mind of a teenager).
    • Sam is understandably against her mother Pamela’s interest in adult Danny and tells her she has no chance with him.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: After being aged into an old lady and having her pocket watch drained of power, Helena gives up on trying to marry Danny by force and decides to leave Team Phantom alone.
  • The Lad-ette: Principal Ishiyama considers Coach Tetslaff this because of her muscular appearance.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude: Principal Ishiyama mocks Miss Tetslaff for being this by insulting her man-like physique.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • Vlad lured Dante's admirers into the restaurant they're in so he can laugh at Danny's misfortune. When the women catch him laughing at that, they decide to beat him up.
    • Vlad becomes the age he was in college like he wanted, but at the cost of his ghost powers and being the object of affections for a now elderly Helena.
  • Let Me Get This Straight...: Danny's reaction to Helena's goal.
Danny: So let me get this straight. You attacked this place and caused a lot of property damage and almost hospitalize some people, just to find a guy who might marry you?! Are you for real?!
  • Like Mother, Like Daughter: Paulina's mom turns out to be even shallower than her.
  • Likes Older Women: Pamela hopes this is the case with Dante, unaware that he clearly doesn't return her feelings.
  • Line-of-Sight Name: Attempting to come up with a name for himself as an adult, Danny spots a poster of what is most likely Devil May Cry and refers to himself as Dante.
  • Little Big Sister: Jazz becomes this after Danny's Overnight Age-Up makes him bigger than her.
  • Love at First Sight: A lot of women fall for Danny's adult self when seeing him for the first time.
  • Loving a Shadow:
    • All of Danny's older admirers are completely smitten with "Dante Fenalton" without knowing who he truly is.
    • Helena clearly only enjoys men for their exterior and believes that she can win them over, as evident that she sees the aged-up Danny as her dream man and doesn't care that he's a minor on the inside who has no desire to be with her.
  • Lust Object: Danny unwittingly become one as an adult.
  • Lustful Melt: Some of Dora's handmaidens do this after seeing Danny's older self.
  • Manchild: Danny is a literal case as he has the body of an adult but retains his teenage mind, as Vlad lampshades.
  • Mistaken for Cheating:
    • Some jealous guys think Danny is trying to get romantic with their female partners.
    • Jeremy gets jealous when Pamela flirts with Dante (adult Danny) and thinks he is trying to steal his wife despite Dante, Sam, and even Jeremy's own mother Ida pointing out he’s not interested in Pamela.
  • Mistaken for Flirting: Guys think Danny is doing this with their female partners despite his claims to the contrary.
  • Mrs. Robinson: Some of the women attracted to "Dante Fenalton" are old enough to have children around Danny's age. One of them happens to be Pamela Manson, the mother of his friend Sam.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: Vlad wants to use Helena's pocket watch to render Jack dust.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: Danny becomes much more muscular and powerful as an adult.
  • Mythology Gag: Flower princess11 alludes to another of her fanfics by having Helena comment on having tried a dating service back when she was alive that offered 30 days to find her special someone.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Principal Ishiyama and Coach Tetslaff's first names were never revealed in the show but here they are Lin and Tina, respectively.
  • Narcissist: Helena takes great pride in her looks and likes to maintain them with her self-imposed beauty regime of spa treatments and long beauty sleeps.
  • Nerves of Steel: Even being threatened by two powerful ghosts like Ember and Kitty doesn't make Bridgetta Eloise Romano back off, which actually impresses Ember.
  • Never Mess with Granny: Ida Manson doesn’t take lip from anyone, especially not her family.
  • Never My Fault: Helena refuses to accept that her own lousy attitude and unreasonably high standards are why she can't find a husband.
  • No Guy Wants to Be Chased: Danny quickly gets exasperated by constantly being harassed by lustful women who don't respect his personal space.
  • No Love for the Wicked: Helena openly admits to Danny she doesn’t want love or happiness, she just wants to marry a rich and handsome man who will take care of her for the rest of her afterlife.
  • No-Sell: According to Ember, the effectiveness of certain ghost powers like her love song and Kitty's teleporting kiss are dependent on the difference in power between the caster and their target. Since Danny's adult body has gained a massive increase in power that eclipses them, both of their abilities, and their only means to make Danny theirs, are ineffective.
  • No Sympathy: Nobody even pays attention to Vlad when he's gagging on a pebble that infant Danny threw in his mouth.
  • Not Good with Rejection:
    • While other women are this to some varied degrees after being rejected by Dante, Cassandra is the worst since she's not used to being denied anything she ever wanted.
    • Helena does not know how to take "no" for an answer from a guy she deems good enough for her, as adult Danny learns the hard way.
    • Kitty responds to Danny's rejection by trying to make him disappear by blowing a kiss.
  • Not Helping Your Case: Cassandra Evergreen tries to persuade Danny into marrying her despite him making clear he doesn't want to since they barely know each other by telling him that her cousin married her husband after five weeks, although they divorced that same weekend, but Cassandra says it was his fault. Danny is completely unimpressed and just uses this as another reason for why he shouldn't marry a stranger like Cassandra.
  • Not So Above It All: Sam is usually the most level-headed member of the team, but even she gets distracted by Danny's older self's look and agrees that he should enjoy his sudden adulthood.
  • Older Alter Ego: Danny gets turned into a 24-year-old man after running into Helena.
  • Only Sane Man: Sullivan is this among the ghost hunters as he's the only one who isn't distracted by adult Danny's good looks like Brenner and Fran, who frequently fight over Danny, or Andy, who drools over the ghost man due to being bisexual.
  • Operation: Jealousy: Sam's father Jeremy tries to make Pamela jealous by catching Helena's interest, even taking his shirt off, partly to get back at his wife for drooling over adult Danny and partly to mend his wounded ego. It completely fails when Helena instantly rejects Jeremy for being "too old and scrawny" for her standards and Pamela is unimpressed when he passes out from over-flexing.
  • Overnight Age-Up: Danny becomes 10 years older the morning after he's hit by the aftershock from when Helena tried blasting him with her pocket watch.
  • Pathetically Weak: Jeremy Manson hurts his hand when he punches adult Danny in the gut out of jealousy for catching Pamela's interest while adult Danny remains unscathed. Later when Jeremy orders exercise equipment, he struggles to lift even the lightest of weights and just ends up hurting his arms.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil:
    • Kitty uses her ghostly lipstick to make her boyfriend Johnny 13 disappear for a few hours so she can go flirt with adult Danny in the human world.
    • Ember uses her love song to make the elderly Helena fall in love with and chase the young and powerless Vlad Masters.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Pamela is worried about Sam's safety when Helena rampages at Casa Di Alta Classe during Singles Night.
    • Ida carries her son Jeremy home after he passes out from over-flexing in an attempt to get Helena's attention to make Pamela jealous.
  • Playing Hard to Get: All of Danny's suitors think he's being this when he rejects them and become even more determined to be with him.
  • Power is Sexy: Ember and Helena find adult Danny's increased strength to be quite attractive.

  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Helena's eyes glow red when she's enraged.
  • Rejected Marriage Proposal: Danny refuses to marry Cassandra.
  • Rejection Affection: No amount of rejections deter Danny's admirers.
  • Rescue Romance: Parodied with Rita, a single mother who Danny meets at the Nasty Burger. He saves her from a nasty fall and she is instantly smitten with him, unaware that Danny can't return her feelings due to his true age.
  • Rich Bitch: Cassandra Evergreen is a rich beauty queen, and very spoiled and self-centered.
  • Ridiculously High Relationship Standards: One of the reasons why Helena was unable to find a husband in her human life and still can't find one as a ghost is because of this Long List.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: Pamela thinks Sam is protective of Danny and wants to keep her mother away from him because she has a crush on him. She is correct that Sam is attracted to Danny but that's not the main reason for her actions.
  • Right-Hand Hottie: Principal Ishiyama seeks to hire adult Danny as her personal secretary while Miss Tetslaff would prefer he be her assistant coach.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Dash, Paulina and Kwan can enter an adults-only restaurant because of their connections. Dash's mom is the realtor who helped sell the place; Paulina's dad is an investor; and Kwan is Dash and Paulina's guest.
  • Self-Proclaimed Love Interest: All of Danny's female admirers are this as they can't accept that he's not interested.
  • Sexier Alter Ego: Danny's older alter-ego "Dante Fenalton" is shown to be very popular with women. Much more than Danny usually is as a teenager.
  • Sexy Secretary: Principal Ishiyama offers to give Danny a job as her assistant, likely for this trope.
  • Shallow Cannot Comprehend True Love: Cassandra Evergreen wants to marry adult Danny purely for his good looks and can’t fathom why he’d reject a wealthy beauty pageant winner like her on the grounds that he doesn’t love her for being a total stranger.
  • Shout-Out:
    • One of the characters is named Lionel Lutz.
    • Danny cycling through different ages is based on a moment Scott Lang went through in Avengers: Endgame, right down to being unaware if he urinated in his pants as a baby or old man.
  • Skewed Priorities: During her fight with adult Danny Phantom, Helena is more upset that he almost tore her dress than the fact he blasted her.
  • So Beautiful, It's a Curse: Danny gets a little too much attention from women when he's Dante.
  • Spoiled Brat: Cassandra Evergreen comes from a wealthy family and is too spoiled to take "no" as an answer when adult Danny turns down her marriage proposal.
  • Spoofy-Doo: The Groovy Gang and their mascot Scaredy Cat are a parody of Scooby-Doo. Brenner lampshades this when she mockingly calls Fran a "wannabe-Velma".
  • Stalker with a Crush: Most of Danny's female admirers are this as they're very keen on on dating him despite his rejections. Although, none of them are as dangerous or repulsive to him as Helena.
  • Stalking Is Funny if It Is Female After Male: It's rather amusing to see Danny being hounded by lustful women who also compete with each other for his attention. Averted when it comes to Helena though as she's the most dangerous and unstable of Danny's admirers.
  • Straight Gay: The jocks didn't even suspect Steve was gay until he told them what he thinks of Danny's adult self.
  • Stealth Insult: Miss Tetslaff insults Principal Ishiyama when she tells her that the nerdy-looking guy trying to ask her for a dance in the Casa Di Alta Classe is exactly her type.
  • Tall, Dark, and Handsome: Danny's older self is stated to be this, gaining him lots of females admirers.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Skulker's pride as a hunter won't let him tolerate anyone interfering in his hunt for Danny. He is NOT happy when Helena turns Danny into an adult as his increased power complicates things.
  • Through His Stomach: Some women try to win over Danny by offering him food. Rita even goes as far as shoving cookies into his mouth.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Danny finds out that he's much stronger and faster as an adult than a teenager.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Helena is a powerful ghost but admits that she's a lover, not a fighter.
  • Unwanted Harem: Danny gains one when he becomes Dante, having many admirers, young and old.
  • Unwanted Spouse: Helena seeks to become this to Danny after seeing how handsome he is as an adult.
  • Villain Respect: Ember admits she respects Bridgetta Eloise Romano for not being intimidated by her and Kitty despite them being ghosts.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes: Ember, Spectra, Kitty and Desiree express an attraction to Danny's older self. Upon seeing the aged up Danny herself, Helena also desires him.
  • Wacky Marriage Proposal: How Cassandra Evergreen initially proposes to adult Danny; by sending her assistant Lionel Lutz to do it for her while she’s at a spa appointment. Needless to say, Danny's not interested and Cassandra doesn’t take it well in the slightest when she gets his answer.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: Sam calls out her mother Pamela for acting less mature than the former by chasing after adult Danny despite already being married.
  • Wasted Beauty: Some men do find Helena attractive but her awful attitude and outdated fashion sense make them lose interest.
  • Womanchild: Cassandra Evergreen/Miss Amity Park is an adult but extremely spoiled and throws tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants, as Danny finds out when he refuses her marriage proposal.
  • Women Prefer Strong Men: Pamela openly sees Dante's muscles as something that makes him more interesting than her husband.
  • Yandere:
    • Helena is this to any man who catches her interest. She even becomes this to Danny after falling for his adult form, as she's even fine with dragging him into the Ghost Zone and marrying him by force.
    • Vlad is still this to Maddie as he admits he's willing to try to force her into marrying him by using Helena's pocket watch to age Jack to dust and turn himself and Maddie back to their college ages so he can start over with her.
