Main character

    The Protagonist
The parent looking for their missing child(ren) in Banban's Kindergarten.
  • Featureless Protagonist: It's not clear whether the player is the mother or the father of these children due to being a silent protagonist. But they won't let anything get in the way of finding those children.
  • Heroic Mime: They don't speak a word. Toadster lampshades this in Chapter IV.
  • Made of Iron: They survive falling down the shaft of the elevator at the end of the first game, which Banban lampshades.
  • Missing Child: Their child has gone missing in the titular "Garten".

Banban's Kindergarten

Monsters

    In General
  • Applied Phlebotinum: They are created through a substance called "Givanium".
  • Made of Iron: They are fairly durable. Jumbo Josh survives falling down the elevator, Banbaleena survives being crushed by Jumbo Josh, and the brawl at the end of Chapter 3 featured no casualties.
  • Our Homunculi Are Different: The case updates and other papers show that they were created through Givanium and genetic material from one or more donors, typically human and one animal. A tape shows some clay being injected with something, likely how these beings were created.
    • Banban, Banbaleena and Syringeon are only made from humans.
    • Nabnab is made from Heteropoda venatoria (huntsman spider). He has no human DNA. Presumably, since she looks similar, Nabnaleena is made from the same or a similar creature.
    • Captain Toadster is made from human and Bufo bufo (common toad)
    • Opila Bird is made from Phoenicopterus roseus (greater flamingo). There is another update that also claims that Struthio camelus (common ostrich) is involved with a different case report. It is unclear if this is meant to be Tarta Bird, Opila was a mix of two birds, or if this was a retcon. They do not have human DNA.
    • Captain Fiddles is made from Brachyteles hypoxanthus (wooly spider monkey). It also does not have human DNA.
    • Stinger Flynn is made from human and Chrysaora quinquecirrha (Atlantic sea nettle)
    • Queen Bouncelia is made from human and Macropus rufus (red kangaroo).
  • Phlebotinum Overload: Mascots can grow by being directly exposed to givanium which can turn them feral. In addition, having more than two genetic donors mixed with givanium will cause a cloy, causing donor sources to be rejected.
  • Stylistic Suck: They are designed to look like they were drawn by kindergarteners.
  • Your Size May Vary: The size of the creatures varies based on the amount of givanium in their bodies. Jumbo Josh, for instance, is gigantic in the first three games, but is shrunk in the fourth. Stinger Flynn likewise is huge in the third game, but smaller going forward. Flynn explains that this is due to various traps Sheriff Toadster set up siphoning givanium out of their bodies in his traps.

Introduced in First Game

    Banban ("The Devil")

Click to see Banban's evil form
Case Number: 6
Voiced by: Ghepo
"Sharing is caring! Your pancreas is mine!"
The titular mascot of the kindergarten, Banban is a large bipedal red cat-like creature with two horns covered in party hats.
  • Ambiguously Evil: Banban claims to be on the side of the protagonist and helps guide them through the facility, however, it's unknown whether he is being sincere. He did injure Uthman Adam after finding out he wasn't human, but he might have just been under shock and stress at this revelation. Chapter 3 seems to confirm that his intentions are honest, but he admits that he's prone to violent instincts. He still has them in Chapter 4, although it seems he can suppress it with effort.
  • Affably Evil: Banban is always there to help the player locate the missing child to protect them from the monsters. He also speaks in a polite tone always there to aid the player.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Banban tricks the player and attacks them while they are distracted. Banban later apologizes and says he would have used sedatives instead if he had any.
  • Berserk Button: Being called "Banban" or meeting the real Uthman Adams is this for him.
  • Big Good: He is one of the creations of the Garten who is helping the protagonist navigate the facility to reach their children. Stinger Flynn sees him as such, giving hope to the protagonist and encouraging them to continue their quest.
  • Big Red Devil: Banban appears to be one, being a red creature with two pointed horns and his alias on the case update is "The Devil".
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Stinger Flynn turns him into an evil version of himself in Chapter 3.
  • Eye Scream: Banban's corpse in the trailer of Garten of Banban VII has his right eye torn out.
  • Foreshadowing: One note left by a child in Chapter 2 mentions an "evil red man", referring to Banban. The child likely saw Banban's monster form, which was introduced in Chapter 3.
  • Genetic Memory: Banban can recall memories of his genetic donor, except for the specific names of people.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Garten of Banban VI ends with Banban fighting all the brainwashed monsters controlled by Sir Dadadoo so the player can escape. His givanium-bloodied corpse is then shown in the trailer of Garten of Banban VII, confirming his death.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: In his monster form, Banban's eyes are purely white with no irises or pupils.
  • Red Is Heroic: His skin is red colored and he is the mascot who is most trying to help the protagonist help rescue their child... that is when they are in control of themselves.
  • Signature Headgear: They wear two party hats on their horns. When Brainwashed and Crazy he lose them.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Their evil side is considerably more muscular than their regular body.
  • Tomato in the Mirror: The case update reports reveals he thought he was a human, even after looking in the mirror. When he met his donor (Uthman Adam), he lashed out and injured him.
    • In Chapter 4, while helping you collect elevator parts, he actually introduces himself as Uthman and speaks as if he is a normal human scientist whose coworkers all went crazy and started avoiding him one day. It seems his non-evil side is still in denial.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pancreases. His mural says "your pancreas is mine", in one of Stinger Flynn's dream sequences, he expresses disappointment that Stinger Flynn has no pancreases to eat, and Stinger Flynn later says pancreases are what's on Banban's mind.
Banban (While Brainwashed and Crazy): You can run away, but the smell of your pancreas will always draw me to you...

    Banbaleena ("The Teacher")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/banbaleena_monster.png
Case Number: 7
Voiced by: Hayah Amgad
"Kindness is free, so sprinkle it everywhere!"
A white cat-like creature with a pink bow in her hair.
  • Ax-Crazy: Threatens to rip apart the protagonist if they are late to her class again. Her "class" is also a group of watering cans, bowling pins, and basketballs with sunglasses on, which she treats as real.
  • Companion Cube: Her "students" are just some rusty-looking watering cans (Unpopular Kids), bowling pins (Mean Kids) and basketballs with aviator sunglasses (Cool Kids). In Chapter IV, surrounding her with bowling pins calmed her down.
  • Distaff Counterpart: Is a female version of Banban, who is also white colored.
  • Obliviously Evil: She threatens the protagonist with death and regularly insults the "unpopular kids" and yet she claims she tried to be an actually good teacher.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: When her eyes stain bloodshot red, she's going crazy.
  • Sadist Teacher: Banbaleena has the tone of a kindergarten teacher, however she makes nonchalant remarks about how she will violently rip apart her students if they get the answers wrong. She also insults the "unpopular kids" calling them ugly.
  • Sugary Malice: She threatens to kill the protagonist in the same cheerful tone as a kindergarten teacher. In Chapter IV, when Toadster catches her, she says she was looking to bring a wayward child back to her class.
  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: She has a pink bow on one of her horns, as well as long eyelashes and pink eye shadow.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: In Chapter 3, she is helpful to the player in escaping Jumbo Josh's room.
  • Your Makeup Is Running: Played for horror here to give out a Tears of Blood effect during her Ax-Crazy rampage.

    Jumbo Josh ("The Green Gorilla")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jumbo_josh_monster.png
"Eat vegetables and fruit to become strong LIKE ME!"
A very large green monster like creature.
  • Green and Mean: Is a green blob-like thing and one of the antagonists.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Jumbo Josh is trying to punch the protagonist during a chase. He punches Banbaleena instead.
  • Squashed Flat: He's capable of doing this with his fist. At the end of Chapter 2, he squashes Banbaleena. In Chapter 3, he flattens Banban on the ground. Notably, no one is killed as a result of this.

    Captain Fiddles ("The Child-Monkey")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captain_fiddles_monster.png
Case Number: 12
"Ooga Booga! Booga Ooga!"
A short, squat gremlin-like creature with pointed teeth.
  • Advertised Extra: He's one of the six mascots introduced in the first chapter and is even represented in the game's logo, but so far his only physical appearances have been in Stinger Flynn's hallucination sequences and a hidden video tape in Chapter 3.
  • Cephalothorax: They look like a torso with a face on it.
  • The Unintelligible: It's mural speaks almost like a caveman: "Ooga Booga, Booga Ooga".

    Opila Bird ("The Bird")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opila_bird_monster.png
Case Number: 10
"Laughter is like the best medicine, so make sure to SMILE"
A short, pink flamingo-like bird with purple wings.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: At the end of Chapter 3, Tarta Bird falls from a ledge when Josh, Flynn, and Banban fight. Opila immediately goes to help.
  • Feathered Fiend: The case files say they have flamingo and/or ostrich DNA in them and they will hunt and kill the protagonist if they get close.
  • Monster Is a Mommy: Opila Bird is a dangerous creature, but once the chicks begin to chirp, Opila Bird will tend to them, and only hurt the player if he/she gets too close.
  • Psycho Pink: Is a Pink bird that will hunt down and kill the protagonist.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: Her AI has her act more like an animalistic predator than a malicious entity, she cares for her young and doesn't attack children. In the end of the 3rd game when the protagonist rides on Tarta and hands her one of their chicks, she remains docile.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: According to the Case Updates they act protective to children, but are hostile to adults.

    Stinger Flynn ("The Jellyfish")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stinger_flynn_monster.png
Case Number: 13
Voiced by: Faris
"Having many arms allows me to help a lot more people!"

An orange jellyfish creature with four tentacles and a single eye.

  • Affably Evil: He has no qualms about killing adults and is willing to do horrible things to achieve his dreams, but he is also unfailingly polite to the player, even after they reject his deal to let them go.
  • Ambiguously Evil: A drawing by a child says Stinger Flynn helped save them from Banban and Opila Bird, but a QR code says to not trust the Jellyfish. It should also be noted that it is debatable whether the children were in danger since Opila Bird is stated to not hurt children and Banban claims they want to protect the children. Chapter 3 removes most of the ambiguous part, with him admitting that he did kidnap the children to fulfill his ends and said he was likely to kill all but one of the adults in the facility, though he gives the protagonist the option to escape.
  • Arc Villain: He's the main antagonist of Chapter 3.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Stinger Flynn is very large, towering over the protagonist.
  • Electric Jellyfish: During his playable scenes, he can shoot zaps of electricity from his tentacles to hit buttons.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Assuming that Banban's statement is true, Flynn's politeness is just a manipulation tactic used to get the player out of the way. Flynn also uses his methods to try and capture/kill the protagonist from reaching their goals.
  • I Just Want to Be Free: His supposed motive for kidnapping the children is so that he can escape the depths of the facility and see the sun.
Stinger Flynn: I have never had actual sun rays touch my skin. Can you imagine that? And I yearn for the day that they finally do. I need the children to achieve that, but do not worry. I will practice the safest of procedures.
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: In Banban VI he gets on the same side as the player and Banban, however it's mostly due to him being weakened and in danger, and he's incredbly bitter with the player, constantly insulting and guilt-tripping them.
  • Oculothorax: Is an orange jellyfish with one big eye in the middle of its bell.
  • Promoted to Playable: At a couple of points in the third chapter, the player has to play as Stinger Flynn as he solves some simple puzzles in flashbacks.
  • Tragic Villain: He is a human/jellyfish hybrid created in an underground laboratory who views his consciousness as a curse. He also laments how he was trapped in the facility and never got to see or feel the sun, only imagining it.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: He claims that he needs the children to enact his goals, but will practice the "safest of procedures" and assures the protagonist that they will be delivered to the surface safe and sound.
  • Your Size May Vary: Stinger Flynn's size changes throughout the series, unlike the other monsters. In the third game, specifically when physically encountering him, he's massive, while in his hallucination sequences and during the events of the fourth, he's only a bit larger than the protagonist. Garten of Banban VI has him admit that his large size was the result of exposure to givanium (something hinted in one of his minigames where he entered a room full of several givanium barrels), and that the pipes he was restrained with during Chapter IV drained him of excess givanium.

Introduced in Garten of Banban II

    Opila Chicks
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opila_chick_26_tarta_chick.png
Click to see Givanium Opila Chick
Case Number: 10A through 10G.
Six small chick creatures that run around an enclosure. Five of these are colored like Opila Bird, while a sixth is turquoise. During Chapter IV, one of these chicks accompanies the parent through part of the game.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Following Little Beak's boss fight, she gets crushed between heavy stone doors. This squeezes all of the Givanium out of her, reverting her to her normal size.
  • Giant Flyer: Little Beak turns into a gigantic bird when she falls into an open vat of Givanium accidentally. Once she's squeezed between stone walls and the Givanium is pressed out of her, she returns to her normal short stature.
  • One-Winged Angel: The chick that the player grabs in the third chapter, who travels with them in the fourth chapter, accidentally falls into an open barrel of givanium in Queen Bouncelia's throne room when she jumps down from a platform and causes shock waves to knock it in, turning it into a giant, monstrous bird strong enough to fight Kittysaurus. It is shown to still be a feral monster in Garten of Banban VI, even getting a boss fight where it attacked the player while they were helping Banban set a trap for it. It reverts to its normal form when crushed between two closing doors shortly after being caught in the electrical trap used to defeat it previously.
  • Pressure Plate: In Chapter IV, the chick is used to stand on pressure plates to solve puzzles.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Opila chicks are adorable baby versions of Opila Bird. The player has to pick them up and return them to their nest and they exhibit no hostility.

    Nabnab ("The Spider")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nabnab_monster.png
Case Number: 8
"It's okay to have no friends and be miserable like me!"
A blue, spider-like crawling creature with a wide, horizontal mouth.
  • Beyond Redemption: After Nabnab steals Mr. Kabob Man and Banban chases after him, Banban claims that Nabnab is so "unfixable" after having tried so hard to fix him, and finally says "enough is enough", before battling him in his monster form. Banban changes his mind and releases Nabnab from a cage in VI in order to have him help fight the Naughty Ones.
  • Four-Legged Insect: They only have four legs despite being a "spider".
  • Loners Are Freaks: His statement on the wall states that it is okay to have no friends, like him.
  • Maniac Tongue: They have a long draping tongue that constantly dangles from their mouth likely to show their feral nature. It's noticable since Nabnaleena doesn't have it. It disappears in the fourth and sixth games (aside from Stinger Flynn's hallucinatory sequences where he still has it).
  • One-Winged Angel: Banban gives Nabnab a givanium injection near the end of Garten of Banban VI, turning Nabnab into a Giant Spider who gives Sir Dadadoo trouble and buys time for the player, Banban, and Bittergiggle to escape.
  • Sdrawkcab Name: Nabnab is "Banban" spelled backwards.
  • Spiders Are Scary: They are described on the wall as a spider and are a monstrous creature. In fact, when the staff were discussing downsizing the number of mascots, he was the first to be cut because the adult staffers found him scary. And if adults found him scary, kids would find him scary.
  • Wall Crawl: It will crawl on the walls and ceiling to chase the player.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: In the 3rd game he gains a friend in Nabnaleena, only for seconds later to be captured and separated by Stinger Flynn (or Jumbo Josh). In the 4th game, he steals Mr. Kabob Man.

    Slow Seline
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/slow_seline_monster.png
Voiced by: Noha G.
"I may be slow, but I am quick to help anyone in need!"

A gigantic yellow snail-like creature.

  • Ambiguous Situation: She is a bright yellow snail that will rush towards the protagonist if she detects them moving. That being said, the secret voice lines imply she might a victim rather than a villain.
  • Living Motion Detector: Seline can immediately rush the player if she sees them moving. However, when her eyestalks split apart, the player can flee.
  • Speedy Snail: She can rush towards the protagonist faster than any other monster. That is, if she sees you moving. She also is seen in a tape in Chapter VI moving extremely fast as well.
  • Stepford Smiler: She has a large toothy grin, but her secret voice lines has her state that she is in pain.
  • Super-Speed: She can move at an incredibly fast pace.

    Sheriff Toadster ("The Sheriff")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sheriff_toadster_monster.png
Case Number: 9
Voiced by: Paul Hikari
"Treat others how you would like to be treated! With Respect!"
A squat brown toad with a very large grin and a six-pointed gold sheriff star.
  • Big Good: Toadster is this, aiding the player in Garten of Banban IV. In Garten of Banban VI, his Knight Templar tendencies come out and he opposes the player, though he does not actively try to harm them.
  • …But He Sounds Handsome: When he meets Banbaleena in Garten of Banban VI, he says that Banbaleena told him someone kidnapped her but she doesn't know who. Banbaleena does not know it was Toadster who was her captor, but Toadster says he's sure the person who captured her sounds very handsome, which Banbaleena did not say...
  • Fantastic Racism: He's not fond of humans, due to the way they abandoned him.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Sheriff Toadster was conditioned to act like a sheriff by watching a bunch of spaghetti westerns with the lawman as the protagonist. This led him to believe anyone outside of the Banban mascot family were evil and could be dealt with violently.
  • Knight Templar: Everyone who isn't one of Banban's staff is a criminal and must be dealt with harshly. Queen Bouncelia can get him to trust others, but without her, it takes very little to set him off.
  • Morality Chain: Queen Bouncelia was this for the sheriff. He had no interest in working with the player and did so on the Queen's orders. However, with her gone, all it took was working with Bittergiggle for Toadster to snap and deny safety to the player.
  • Perpetual Smiler: His model is always shown bearing a big grin. It finally turns into a frown in the trailer Garten of Banban VII when he is in a prison.
  • The Nicknamer: He names the Opila chick "Little Beak"
  • The Sheriff: He evokes this design, having the title, a cowboy hat and a gold six-pointed star on his chest. This led to him being booted from lineup of the mascots: A sheriff requires bad guys to lock up, and none of the mascots were villains.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Toadster is usually very composed and easily captures several monsters. When the Naughty Ones escape, however, all he can do is shout at us to run. He continues to keep a smile active in any situation, however, regardless of the emotion he is expressing, but he is shown finally frowning in Garten of Banban VII due to the situation he and the player are in having become much more dire.
  • Uncertain Doom: When the scepter is found, Sir Dadadoo demands the location of the sheriff, as he was not found with the others.
  • The Worf Effect: Captures Jumbo Josh, Stinger Flynn, Banbaleena, both Opila and Tarta Bird, and Slow Seline without much issue, although its shown that Toadster uses clever traps and careful preparation rather than brute force. He does however quite easily fend off Bittergiggle with a well-placed "Toadstar."
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Chews out the player in Chapter VI for working with Bittergiggle.

    Zolphius
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zolphius_monster.png
"Lo siento..."note
A gigantic pale head with a large neck.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: They are the largest monster seen so far, towering even over Cyan Fiddles, with their neck/body reaching down endlessly.
  • Eye Scream: A drawing of it shows it smiling with massive eyes, meaning it used to have them and lost them somehow.
  • Ghostly Gape: Its face is this, three black blobs on its face.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: He can be summoned with a difficult-to get tape in the 3rd game, and his only line is "Lo siento" which means I'm sorry in Spanish. Since the game takes place in Montreal it would make more sense for English or French to be spoken.

Introduced in Garten of Banban III

    Queen Bouncelia ("The Queen")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/queen_bouncelia_monster_2.png
Case Number: 14
Voiced by: Erin Nicole Lundquist
"Jump as far as you like, but never to conclusions"
A regal purple kangaroo with a heart scepter and a crown, carrying her babies, dubbed the "Naughty Ones", in her pouch.
  • Barrier Maiden: She's holding the Naughty Ones in her pouch, which she subdues by willing her pouch to remain shut. Instinctual moments cause her to lose her focus, which is why no one is allowed to make her laugh. When Bittergiggle does, all hell breaks loose.
  • Cool Crown: A very large three pointed crown adorned with rubies.
  • The High Queen: She is the ruler of her Kingdom on the fourth floor, and is quick to respect the protagonist's struggle and offer her gratitude however she can. In fact, she extends the parent the invitation to visit the Kingdom again after their child is found.
  • Kangaroo Pouch Ride: The "Naughty Ones" are in her pouch. They happen to be so dreaded that Bouncelia has to hold them inside her pouch, but being made to laugh by Bittergiggle lets them free, causing the whole fourth floor to start collapsing.
  • Macguffin: Her scepter, which is stated by Toadster to be something they are seeking out that can assist with the problems going on.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Her original throne was much smaller than her present one, showing after the years past since her creation, she has clearly grown into a giant.
  • Graceful Ladies Like Purple: She is purple and has a royal title in addition to a crown and scepter.
  • Purple Is Powerful: She's definitely a shade of royal purple.
  • Sacred Hospitality: A kind ruler, she wants the protagonist to stay as an honorary citizen, and when they must leave, only asks they visit them again.
  • So Unfunny, It's Funny: When Bittergiggle finally has her cornered does he deliver his terrible joke. Unfortunately it was so bad she couldn't help but laugh, unleashing The Naughty Ones.
  • Token Good Teammate: Of all of Banban's gang, she was the only one who was not feral or violent, even by accident. The reason she was deemed unsuitable for presentation was due to the Naughty Ones, rather than a defect with her.
  • Uncertain Doom: Bittergiggle states she is probably be dead in Garten of Banban VI, however it's ultimately unconfirmed.

    The Naughty Ones
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/naughty_one.png
"Finish your homework and be nice if you don’t want to join us!"
Mischevious and destructive creatures found in Queen Bouncelia's pouch.
  • Creepy High-Pitched Voice: They let out hellish high pitched giggles when Bittergiggle tells a joke.
  • The Dreaded: Nearly every character is terrified of them, including Sheriff Toadster and Bittergiggle.
  • Lamprey Mouth: They have these just like their "Dada".
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Being the offspring of Bouncelia and Dadadoo, they are kangaroo / leech hybrids.
  • Weakened by the Light: They hate the light and the player avoids them by using a light on their drone.

    Nabnaleena
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nabnaleena_monster.png
"There's a right somebody for everybody, You just need to look!"
A feminine version of Nabnab created to make him less lonely.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: While Nabnab is blue, Nabnaleena is colored black. While she does attack the player if they fail her minigame, her purpose is to help make Nabnab less lonely and is (briefly) successful.
  • Distaff Counterpart: To Nabnab, deliberately created this way.
  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Like Banbaleena she has a bow on her.

    Tarta Bird
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tarta_bird_monster.png
"Protect your loved ones! They love you back the same!"
A turquoise bird that is otherwise identical to Opila Bird
  • Horse of a Different Color: In the climax of Chapter III, the player rides Tarta like a horse to escape a possessed Banban.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: After Jumbo Josh takes down Stinger Flynn after Tarta and Opila allied up with the protagonist to help them escape, Tarta ends up falling downwards from the resulting quake. This fall, however, does not kill him.
  • Papa Wolf: Like Opila, he will leap on you to protect an Opila chick.
  • Spear Counterpart: To Opila Bird.

    Tamataki & Chamataki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tamataki_26_chamataki_monster.png
Tamataki: "We carry our home wherever we go! It's turtley worth it!"
Chamataki: "Practicing safety saves lives! Practice safety everywhere!"
A two headed Turtle-Chameleon hybrid

    Mr. Kabob Man
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mr_kabob_man.png
Voiced by: Ghepo
"Be yourself no matter the cost, unlike me!"
A mascot that looks like several metal poles on wheels.
  • Ambiguously Related: It's unknown if Mr. Kabob Man is just a bunch of metal poles on wheels or if he is related to the givanium experiments. Banban calls him an impostor.
  • Never Bareheaded: In order for Mr. Kabob Man to move in Chapter III, one must put the party hats on his head. In Chapter VI those party hats are replaced with speakers to trick the feral Little Beak into traps.

    Bittergiggle ("The Jester")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bittergiggle_monster.png
Voiced by: Ty Coker
"Nothing is as precious as smiles! Tell a joke wherever you walk!"
An asymmetrical monster serving as Queen Bouncelia's court jester.
  • Anti-Villain: He is genetically engineered to want to tell jokes and make people laugh. Despite knowing making Bouncelia laugh would release the Naughty Ones, he does so. He later abandons the player when he realizes that the Naughty Ones laugh at his jokes, despite his desire to do good.
  • Arc Villain: He's the main antagonist of Chapter 4.
  • The Atoner: In Garten of Banban VI he feels terrible about being responsible for freeing the Naughty Ones and works with the player. However, he starts to reconsider this once he realizes the Naughty Ones laugh at his jokes, and jumps into the abyss, later being brainwashed by Sir Dadadoo.
  • Jerkass: Though he may want Queen Bouncelia to laugh, he tries to kill you on three separate occasions.
  • Just Following Orders: He is compelled to make his ruler laugh, as a jester is supposed to do. Despite the fact that he is fully aware making the ruler laugh will release the Naughty Ones.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He expresses remorse over releasing the Naughty Ones when he teams up with the player in Chapter 6.
Bittergiggle: I don't know what came over me. I just... couldn't hold myself back... I knew the consequences well, and I still went ahead and said that stupid joke! And now the queen's probably dead because of me...
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Working with the player causes Sheriff Toadster to swiftly turn against them.
  • Practically Joker: He is green-and-purple, is referred to as a "Jester" and later calls himself a "Jokester", he desires to tell jokes, and his voice is clearly based on Mark Hamill's Joker.
  • Secondary Color Nemesis: Primarily made up of green and purple, and a sign warns the player to not let them find you.
  • Two-Faced: His face is half a fluffy purple and half green with purple around its eye. The purple side is frowning while the green side is smiling. This also extends to the rest of his body.

Introduced in Garten of Banban IV

    Kittysaurus
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kittysaurus_monster.png
"Meow at your friends. Roar at all enemies!"
A large brown/orange dinosaur with the face of a cat.
  • Bullfight Boss: The trick to winning the boss battle is to get the creature to hit lit buttons by having her charge at them.
  • Cats Are Mean: She attacks the player.
  • Easily Forgiven: Unlike Nabnab, who was locked up, Kittysaurus is allowed to roam free by Banban. It's possible she was only acting under Bittergiggle's orders and is not malevolent by herself.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: A dinosaur and a cat.
  • Samus Is a Girl: The Euphoric Brothers confirmed that Kittysaurus is female in a post commemorating International Women's Day with the other female mascots. There is absolutely no inclination that Kittysaurus was female, aside from a comment where Bittergiggle says that "she" likes his jokes.
  • T. Rexpy: Is clearly based off the T-Rex with its small arms and general body shape.

    Syringeon ("The Surgeon")
"Be the surgeon to someone's broken heart"
Case Number: 4

    Experimental Bittergiggles
Voiced by: Thinknoodles (Top Half Jester), Caylus (Big Head Jester), Dakblake (Orange Half Jester), Aeroga (Green Half Jester), Jack Manifold (Armless Jester), KreekCraft (Crazed Jester)
Experiments that are clones of Bittergiggle.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: The Top Half Jester is missing the lower half of their torso, and in the 2nd game there exist two autonomous vertically sliced halves of an Experimental Bittergiggle.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: The Big Head Jester has this reaction to their own jokes in a poem where they list several jokes, with the last sentence saying that the jokes are terrible and that maybe they're the real joke.
  • Laughing Mad: The Crazed Jester is giggling to himself while curled up in a corner.
  • Losing Your Head: The Big Head Jester is a sentient head. It's unknown if it was ever attached to a body.
  • Schmuck Bait: Invoked by the Armless Jester, who says of course nothing will happen if the player touches the last switch to unlock Bouncelia's scepter. Nothing happens, and the Jester comments that this is exactly what he said would happen.

Voiced by: Pro Aga
"Maturing is realizing leeches come in all shapes and sizes!"
A Leech-like monster with purple gloves and a tie and the father of the Naughty Ones.
  • And Your Little Dog, Too!: Threatens to eat Kittysaurus to spite Bittergiggle if they don't tell him where the missing scepter piece is.
  • Arc Villain: He's the main antagonist of Chapter 6.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Chapter 6 ends with him having taken control of Banbaleena, Opila, Nabnaleena, Tarta, Tamataki and Chamataki, Bittergiggle, and Kittysaurus, and access to Queen Bouncelia's scepter (even if a piece is missing), with only Banban left stalling him as the player escapes.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: He has the ability to brainwash the other experiments, causing their skin to turn gray and eyes to glow purple. Banbaleena, Opila, Nabnaleena, Tarta, Tamataki and Chamataki, Bittergiggle, and Kittysaurus are all under his control at the end of VI, forcing Banban to sacrifice himself to enable the player to escape.
  • Dark Is Evil: Has dark purple skin and is the most malevolent monster in the series so far.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Despite his silly name, he is incredibly dangerous and horrifying to look at.
  • Lamprey Mouth: Unsurprisingly has one, given they're a leech.
  • Meaningful Name: His name has "dada" in it and he is the father of the Naughty Ones.

    Givanium Infants
Voiced by: Kat Buno (Black Eyes) and CookieSwirlC (White Eyes)
Teal little circle creatures.
  • Ambiguously Related: They don't look much like Syringeon, so it's possible that they were a literal creation of theirs rather than genetically related.
  • Cephalothorax: They are small circles with faces and two nubs for legs.
  • Ghostly Gape: They both have these, the one with pitch black eyes looking closer to the trope.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: One of them has blank white eyes and the other has blank black eyes.

    "The Nanny"
A Cow monster that will attack the players in the treehouse.
  • Fission Mailed: You cannot escape the Nanny, meaning she will always give you a Jump Scare like those that would normally lead to the Game Over screen. However, you soon get reincarnated and placed at your checkpoint, although the lights will be replaced with a book instead.
  • Our Minotaurs Are Different: They have the look, having a bovine head and humanoid body.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: They never appear in the story after their first appearance.

Staff

    Uthman Adam
A scientist who works for the facility. They are also the genetic donor of Banban.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: He was the head researcher who created the monsters, meaning that he is the cause of the events of the story, despite not appearing yet.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He had boarding passes and was implied to have written notes saying he would leave before anything went wrong.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He seems to dislike spiders, wanting Nabnab to be cut because it creeps him out.

    Weverly Mason
A teacher of the Kindergarten and the genetic donor for Banbaleena.
  • Butt-Monkey: The notes that the children left show her constantly getting stressed out from all the chaos.
  • Morality Pet: Possibly for Banban, since after he found out he was a monster and attacked his donor, he only requested to speak with her.

Students

    Claire
A student in the Kindergarten who is seen on drawings by another student.
  • Damsel in Distress: Depicted as this in the drawings, being behind Opila Bird and needing to be rescued. Claire and the artist are later "saved" by Stinger Flynn.
  • Kilroy Was Here: Graffiti in the cafeteria in the third game says "Claire was here".

    Banbaleena's Class
Three groups of "students" in Banbaleena's class known as the popular kids, the unpopular kids, and the mean kids. They are respectively basketballs, watering cans, and bowling pins.
  • The Bully: The "mean kids" act as this, targeting one of the unpopular kids.
  • Companion Cube: Seemingly for Banbaleena, they appear to be regular objects. That being said they appear in different places in the break room. It's unknown whether they are moved by Banbaleena, the player, someone else or if they move on their own.
  • Cool Shades: The "popular kids" have sunglasses, and the protagonist can wear one to sit at their table.
