Team Persona

The main team of the series, founded by Ekusu Kurosu (who named it after Kamen X's mask) and led by Bird Kazami, with Multi Nanairo joining in later on.

    In general
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: In-Universe. From the perspective of the in-universe audience, they are an eclectic crew who, despite only one of them being immediately recognizable to the public, nonetheless managed to rack up an impressive track record against several pros and win in very flashy ways. In fact, Bird seems to have garnered some In-Universe Misaimed Fandom due to Ichigo's Auto-Incorrect tendencies.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: The team comprises of a newbie as leader, a masquerading Pro Blader, and a multi-talented influencer.

Click here to see Kamen X
A Pro Blader who retired from the highest champion team Pendragon. He seeks to climb up the ranks again from rock-bottom under the persona of Kamen X, in the hopes of finding new challenges and facing his old team on competitive grounds. His main Bey is the Attack-type Dran Sword (previously lent to Chrome Ryugu), and later obtains Dran Dagger and Dran Buster.
  • The Ace: A pro-level blader already, he's aiming for the top again to seek new challenges and to hopefully face his old team in a serious battle.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: His ultimate strategy in Episode 25 in the second round against Burn's Phoenix Wing, as he has Dran Dagger unleash a myriad of Xtreme Dashes in what he dubs the Xtreme Dash Infinity until Phoenix Wing is both rung out and burst.
  • The Beastmaster: During Team Persona's first trip to the Lion's Jungle, Ekusu oddly quickly bonds with the monkeys there. And later on when partaking in the Datto in Episode 19, he was able to tame the monkeys of the zoo to help him find opponents to make up for his own lack of stamina and even had them surround Bird to attempt to guarantee a battle with him in the game's final minutes.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: He loves the weird experimental sushi that Komabazushi comes up with, which is why he had Team Persona seek the restaurant as their sponsor.
  • Blood Knight:
    • He loves battling in general, but especially against strong opponents, to the point that he left Team Pendragon just so he could battle Chrome Ryugu in an X Tower title match.
    • This is first showcased in full during episode 13, where he accepts a no-rules Street Battle challenge from a gang of dirty cheaters — the moment he gains the upper hand despite all their machinations, Dran Sword pulls a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown on their Bey, all while he starts Laughing Mad as the Beystadium malfunctions and sends sparks flying everywhere.
    • Despite the impending menace of the Phoenix Feather phenomenon, Ekusu is ecstatic to hear that the Phoenix Feather's speed surpasses the speed of his own Dran series of Beys. And in Episode 19 when King is explaining the possibility of a looming event related to the Phoenix Feathers, he can outright tell even through the mask that Ekusu is grinning in excitement.
    • In Episode 25, his climatic duel with Burn's Phoenix Wing has him bursting out into another Laughing Mad episode as the battle rages on, more gleeful than ever that their battle has pushed him further than anyone else he's fought so far.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: As episode 14 shows, he is very demotivated in physical training and mostly plays around, but when beybattling, he is very active and a genius capable of formulating plans on how to best beat his opponent even when using a different Bey. If the preview of episode 15 is to be believed, all that "training" did completely exhaust him somehow with episode 18 fully confirming he has no stamina outside of beybattling.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Ekusu has a load of Cloudcuckoolander tendencies, e.g., neglecting to tell his new teammate about a pro selection match while completely forgetting that said teammate didn't have a Bey to battle with, as well as somehow completely missing the significance of one of his new teammates sharing a surname with one of his old ones. That said, he's still a champion-level Blader who's already beaten X Tower, but this trope is the very reason he's passed over for being Team Persona's leader.
  • Cherry Tapping: In episode 18, he could have just simply defeated Takumi using Phoenix Feather with his Dran Sword, but chose to purposely drag out the match by always making the battles end in a draw instead. This is done to get Takumi to go back to using his own Mont Blanc rather than being forced to play with a Purposely Overpowered bey that is not his own.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: He is obsessed with Blading, to the point where it's been the only thing he'll talk about in a large number of his appearances.
  • Color Motifs: Blue showcasing his calmness and coolness when battling.
  • Dub Name Change: His masked persona Kamen X is named Blader X in English, while his true identity is named "Jaxon Cross"
  • Experienced Protagonist: Is already a champion-level blader who was a part of the first team to clear the X-Tower.
  • The Face: As the founder of Team Persona, not only is his mask the logo of the team, but he is also clearly the star athlete and the one fans want to see.
  • Failed a Spot Check: He is pretty oblivious to things due to his Idiot Hero tendencies. When Bird asks if Multi being Shiguru's younger sister was why she was recruited into Team Persona, Ekusu expresses extreme shock just over just realizing that they are related with the same last name.
  • Fun Personified: One of his most defining traits when it comes to Beyblading, as Ekusu is always seeking out to have a fun time when battling others, even if it's a battle against newbie crushes Team Phalynx or the extremely powerful Team Yggdrasil, and always tends to make sure if his friends are having fun in Beybattles as well. Best exemplified from one of his quotes in the dub trailer:
"Do you really need a reason to have fun?"
  • Hidden Depths: He's a lot more receptive to others' feelings than he seems, one just needs to know how to word it - case in point, in episode 11, when Bird mentions he's not having fun with the constant battles Ekusu is pushing him to do, Ekusu immediately starts suggesting other, non-Beyblade activities.
  • Invincible Hero: Since he already conquered the entirety of X Tower with his old team, his matches are less about if he can win, but more on how he wins. At most he's only ended up with a single draw against King (With it being suggested King felt Ekusu was stronger than him during the Xtreme Dash clash that led to said draw), and several on-purpose draws with a Phoenix Feather wielding Takumi. Episode 24 seemingly delivers him his first loss to Burn and his incredibly powerful Phoenix Wing in a one-point battle, but Episode 25 reveals it was another draw as both Phoenix Wing and Dran Dagger struck each other with an Over Finish, as Ekusu manages to win the second round.
  • Lethal Chef: His attempts at sushi are so bad even he thinks they're disgusting, with his attempts being bad enough to lay both him and Bird out on the floor (With poor Bird having had to eat a lot of Ekusu's sushi), and they even have Meiko, who's already used to Taisho's unorthodox cooking and recipes, trembling from the consumption.
  • Letter Motif: He's most associated with the letter X: he's the main character of Beyblade X, Ekusu is more or less the syllabic pronunciation of the letter, the persona he uses while beyblading is named Kamen X(which has the letter X marked on the front of the mask he uses), and everytime he launches his bey, the letter "X" forms. His Signature Move is Xtreme Dash.
  • Multiform Balance: His three Dran Beys follow this. Being ALL attack types, they all focus on different types of attacks — Dran Sword is the basic Jack of All Stats emphasizing powerful hits and designed to set up for an Xtreme Dash as a Finishing Move, Dran Dagger gives up its smash attack strength in favour of a six-sided Blade and a smaller gear Bit to perform Spam Attack Xtreme Dashes, and Dran Buster has all its force focus on only one point of the Blade while having a wider gear Bit in order to pour all its strength into a One-Hit Kill Xtreme Dash.
  • Nice Guy: Is a very friendly guy to everyone he interacts with.
  • Odd Name Out: The only Japanese character (Announced so far at least) who is given a completely English Dub Name Change in this series. It is not made clear if he's still Japanese despite this or given a Race Lift as a result.
  • Punny Name: His name is literally based on "X-Cross" or even "X-X".
  • Scissors Cuts Rock: A reoccurring situation as Ekusu manages to win several battles against Defense Type Beys despite his Dran series of Beys being Attack Types, as Defense Types are supposedly at a natural advantage due to being able to endure an Attack Type's attacks and outlast them. The Xtreme Dash (Specifically being able to use it multiple times) is effectively Ekusu's key to victory to overpower this type advantage.
  • Signature Move: Played With. The Xtreme Dash is a move that isn't exclusive to him, it seeing usage by the likes of King Manju and Burn Fujiwara; however, he's the only one able to launch multiple Xtreme Dashes in rapid succession, to the point that his Dran Dagger is purpose-built to enable this.

    Bird Kazami (Robin Kazami)

Voiced by: Shūichirō Umeda (Japanese), Caleb Yen (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1000033856.png
A newbie Blader who aims to join the Pros at X Tower. However in the X City qualifiers his team Albatross Strikers are utterly curbstomped by the newbie crushers Team Phalanx and he loses his team and his initial Bey Strike Hawk in the process, but he soon meets Ekusu who forms a new team with him while he obtains a new Bey from Multi. His main Bey is the Balance-type Hells Scythe, and later obtains Hells Chain (a simplified version of Hells Scythe that has a blade that alternates between high and low) and Hells Hammer (which inverts Hells Scythe to create a downward force).
  • Animal Motifs: If his name isn't enough of an indication, birds. His presence in the opening is constantly symbolized with bird feathers, and his original Bey before it was destroyed was Strike Hawk.
  • Butt-Monkey: Known for having the biggest losing streak as a Pro Blader. As such, promotions for Team Persona in the industry tend to leave him in the dust, while everyone sees him as a braggart with no skills to back himself due to Ichigo's Auto-Incorrect of his interviews.
  • Can't Catch Up: Due to the fact, he is essentially a newb thrust into the Pro world, he has trouble keeping up with his more experienced teammates.
  • Clean Dub Name: His Hells line of Beys are renamed as Incendio in English.
  • Color Motifs: Red.
  • Decoy Protagonist: He is introduced first in the story, but he is actually the Deuteragonist and Audience Surrogate, sharing the role of protagonist with Ekusu who does most of the heavy lifting in battles.
  • Determinator: His defining trait is his strong determination to keep on pursuing professional Beyblading despite only having losses ever since his Pro debut. Most bladers in his position would have dropped out a long time ago. This trait of his earned him his first fan in episode 13 who admires him for it despite his predicament.
  • Deuteragonist: While a hefty amount of X's story so far has been focused on Ekusu's quest to get back to the top of the X Tower to face Chrome, another portion of the story so far has been focused on Bird's growth and experience as a rookie Pro Blader.
  • Dub Name Change: He is named Robin Kazami in official English media.
  • Expy: Color his outfit blue and you get Valt Aoi. Much like Valt, both start as newbies to their series. Both Valt and Bird want to make it to their respective Pro Leagues. But while Valt had to work his way up even as a newbie, Bird was a small fish in a big pond and had to be carried to rise through the ranks.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Episode 14 shows he is in remarkably good shape, able to fulfill the training Ekusu neglects even keeping up when his teammate raises the speed of the treadmill for fun with the exhausted Bird noting he likely ran ten times as much compared to Ekusu. Despite this he still completed the swim training and if the preview is to be believed he still has enough energy to carry Ekusu back to Komabazushi. Episode 19 even has him state that many sports clubs in his hometown wanted him on their team, while he is busy evading X and Zooganic when forced to partake in the Dattonote  as an "amateur blader", and eventually wins the game without getting tagged at all.
    • While Episode 9 hints that he has some skill in cooking and preparing food as he did for Multi, Episode 20 reveals he's genuinely really skilled with sushi making in particular despite having no experience with it, gathering his friends' admiration for his food and it's even to the point Taisho, upon trying his sushi, expresses a desire to make Bird his successor as Komabazushi's head chef, albeit to Bird's irritation when the others joke he should retire Pro Blading to become a sushi chef.
  • Instant Expert: Despite having absolutely no experience with sushi-making, his first go at it is so well done that it sparkles, and the taste and way he made it causes Meiden to declare him a genius in the field while Taisho instantly tries to name him as his successor.
  • Irony: He's an exceptionally gifted athlete yet has never won a single Pro Beybattle at all. Many of the characters who realize this lampshade this, often question how is it he couldn't win even a single pro battle despite being so physically gifted.
  • The Leader: He is made the leader of Team Persona, because they can't trust Ekusu with the responsibility and Multi is too busy handling the team's PR, which leaves Bird as the only remaining option.
  • Naïve Newcomer: Compared to Multi who has had experience with learning the pro-Beyblading scene, and Ekusu who was outright a former member of a champion team, both prior to the series, Bird's only just begun to learn about the pro scene from the second episode, and has only experience in Beyblading from his town, leaving him struggling to win against the much more experienced Bladers battling in the X-Tower.
  • No Poker Face: His facial expressions are easy to read, which is what allows his opponents to counter his plans.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: While Bird never wins a battle, it still is impressive that he is at least able to put up a fight against pro bladers despite his inexperience and newcomer status with the management of X-Tower even noting that within time Bird could potentially become very powerful.
  • Plot Armor: Inverted; Somehow the plot keeps giving reasons why Bird will never win a battle onscreen even if it's outside the X-Tower. This includes him losing to some thugs due to their cheating, losing to his fan due to not expecting the sheer speed of Phoenix Feather, and narrowly losing to Zonamos by a few seconds after solving the riddle.
  • Red Baron: Known as The Legendary Bigmouth, due to Ichigo making up badass boasts for him during interviews when he flubs them. He does not actually mean to be rude, but has already built a heavy reputation for it much to his dismay.
  • Rookie Red Ranger: Zigzagged; He's the newbie in Team Persona, yet became its leader by process of elimination (Ekusu is too much a Bunny-Ears Lawyer, while Multi outright refuses the position due to other responsibilities) although he is still by far the weakest and most inexperienced member of the team.
  • Sheathe Your Sword: In Episode 19, when faced with the possibility of having a certain loss to Pro Bladers from both his own team and Team Zooganic during the Datto event, with Ekusu in particular being vicious about hunting him down, Bird's response is to run, evade, and outlast all of the Pro Bladers in order to win the event. And to his credit, he actually manages to win this way, eventually stalling out the timer in the final minutes by tricking Ekusu and King into trying to battle each other.
  • Took a Level in Badass: While it is a slow and gradual process, he does become stronger even if he does not manage to win. For instance, in the first episode, he is completely curb-stomped by Takumi, but in episode 27, he puts up a much greater fight and despite losing, Takumi's Stone Mont Blanc spins out shortly after Hell's Chain.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Implied to the reason behind his loss streak; He is shown to be remarkably physically gifted, but his lack of experience allows his opponents to see through his tactics and defeat him through their skill. Multi even outright told him that shooting blindly won't win him battles.
  • Wrong Line of Work: Due to his losing streak in blading, some characters wonder if it isn't just better for him to pursue another sport with his excellent physical ability or become a sushi chef with his talent.

    Multi Nanairo (Multi Nana-iro)

Click here to see her Cute Attire
Click here to see her Cool Attire
A multi-talented internet celebrity-influencer who initially ran her own one-man team Rainbow until her defeat by the newly-formed Team Persona. She then joins the team when Ekusu recruits her, with an apparent goal to increase her fame as a Pro Blader, but in actuality she wants to someday defeat her older sister, Shiguru of Team Pendragon. She uses multiple Beys at her disposal:
  • Stamina-types: Wizard Arrow, Wizard Rod
  • Defense-types: Knight Shield, Knight Lance
  • Balance-types: Hells Scythe (given to Bird)

  • Animal Motifs: Following Team Persona's first trip to Lion's Jungle, she's incorporated a rabbit theme to her cute outfit, in particular a set of rabbit ears.
  • Attack Reflector: The Mirage Parry that she uses with Wizard Arrow serves as this, using the opponent's power against them to recoil their Bey either out of the arena for an Over Finish or make them run out of stamina for a Spin Finish.
  • Awesome by Analysis: Her playstyle is formulating a plan against her opponent's playstyle, which influences which bey she uses and the way she spins them. In particular, Kadovar notes she most likely used his battle against Bird to find a way defeat him.
    • A stronger example is her match against Yuni who observed her launch style. Yuni uses a Balance type that splits the bey in half between Attack and Defense. Whether or not she was doing it unconsciously, Multi noticed Yuni would drop her elbows a bit when she wanted to favor her Defensive side. That's all she needed to start a counter-attack winning with a Burst and Ring Out.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Her "cool" persona dons one, complete with a Badass Cape and a top hat that wouldn't look out of place on a Stage Magician.
  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: The English dub added a hyphen to her surname between "Nana" and "iro".
  • Baritone of Strength: Lowers her voice a couple of octaves when assuming her "cool" persona.
  • Berserk Button: Do not imply that someone is a better Bey Crafter than her, lest she drag you to the nearest stadium herself. Poor Bird was about to be put on the receiving end of this for tests with Hells Chain against Phoenix Feather before Team Persona's next match got announced.
  • Child Prodigy: In order to get a license for bey crafting, she had to complete a high-class school usually meant for adults.
  • Color Motifs: While associated with rainbows, her main colors are Green and Yellow.
  • Counter-Attack: This seems to be her specialty along with her versatile Bey arsenal, as two of her special moves, Wizard Arrow's Mirage Parry and Knight Lance's Rainy Lance, both focus around turning an opponent's attack against them, with Mirage Parry turning an opponent's power into detrimental recoil, and Rainy Lance having Knight Lance take an attack in order to get into a position for a devastating counter attack of some sort.
  • Dub Name Change: Her Bey Knight Shield is remamed Helm Knight in English.
  • Experienced Protagonist: While not a champion level blader yet, she's still a very strong and adaptable blader, a successful influencer with tons of fans, and a certified Bey Crafter showing a level of intelligence and experience that rivals Ekusu ability outside the Bey Stadium.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: In-Universe, her fans are called "Multease".
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She designed and created almost all of the Beys Team Persona uses, the only exception being Ekusu's Dran Sword but nevertheless she designs its variants through reverse engineering from it, as well as Hells Scythe which she noted she acquired rather than designed when first introducing it to Bird but similarly also designed new variants of.
  • Inconsistent Spelling: Her last name is spelt as Nana-iro in official English media.
  • Instant Costume Change: She's capable of doing this in order to match her attire with the Bey that she uses — Cute for Wizard Arrow, and Cool for her Knights. She has also changed into a scientist outfit for her work as a Beycrafter, and a detective costume when on the cusp of completing Riddle and Bey's puzzle.
  • Jack of All Trades: Befitting her name, Multi is talented in many different fields, including music, content creating, and Blading with a variety of Beys. She also has a Beycrafter license to design and produce her own original Beyblades, much to everyone's surprise.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Multi is shorthand for multiple, which refers to the multiple talents she has, the multiple Beys she uses, the multiple personas she has (Idol and Cool), and the multiple colors her hair and eyes has. Additionally, in Japanese pronunciation it fits the standards of a cutesy name a girl would have ("Maruchi").
    • "Nanairo" literally means "Seven Colors", as in the colors of a rainbow.
  • Noodle Incident: When introducing Hells Scythe to Bird, Multi says she went through "a lot of trouble" just to obtain it.
  • Only Sane Man: Of Team Persona, compared to Ekusu's cloudcuckoolander personality and Bird's inexperience.
  • Secretly Wealthy: While it is unclear if she received it from her streaming or has rich relatives, Meiko notes that the study costs for bey crafting is very high, as well as the high costs of even purchasing a crafting machine.
  • Sibling Rivalry: The driving reason she decided to go Pro is to eventually defeat her sister, having suffered a string of over ten thousand defeats against her during their childhood.
  • Verbal Tic: In her idol persona, she places a heavy emphasis on saying the word "desuuu~".

Komabazushi

A small sushi restaurant in X City that runs as Team Persona's sponsor.

    Taisho

Voiced by: Uoken

The eccentric shop owner of Komabazushi who was once a Blader as a child, he now passes on his dreams by supporting Team Persona.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: Almost all of his appearances has him attempt to create a bizarre new sushi item to add to his menu, which is a huge part of the reason why his restaurant is often short on earnings while still having a low customer base.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Only known as Taisho/"Head Chef" to the other characters. The official English manga opts to call him Mr. Taisho, suggesting that Taisho is his real name, while episode 26 confirms that "Taisho Sushiya"note  is his full name.
  • Miniature Senior Citizens: Being an old man the size of a child.

    Meiko Meiden (Meiko Myoden)

Voiced by: Ruriko Aoki

A retired Pro Blader in a maid outfit who now serves as Taisho's (and Team Persona's) assistant and secretary. Her main Bey is the Attack-type Shark Edge.
  • Dub Name Change:
    • Her last name Meiden was changed to Myoden in English.
    • Her Shark Edge was renamed Keel Shark in official English media.
  • Hidden Depths: She has the same Bizarre Taste in Food as Ekusu does, which is highly implied to be the reason why she chose to work at Komabazushi.
  • Meganeko: A beautiful, bespectacled woman with an air of professionalism and elegance.
  • Punny Name: Her name is a pun on maid and she dresses up in a maid's outfit.
  • Power Copying: She can imitate the playing style of other Pro Bladers for practice matches. In episode 14, she copied Ekusu's style with Dran Sword, Multi's Wizard Arrow, and King's Leon Claw.
  • Retired Badass: A Pro Blader before, while she does not intend to return to the active Blading scene, she still has the skills to back herself up when she accepts a challenge.

Team Zooganic

A newcomer Pro Team working for X City's indoor zoo Lion's Jungle.

    In general
  • Animal Motifs: Fitting for a team of zookeepers.
    • King: Lion
    • Toguro: Snakes
    • Cho: Panda
  • Honor Before Reason: They reject Yggdrasil's offer to use the high-speed Phoenix Feather since they rather want to improve their skills with their current beys rather than go the easy route. King in particular considers Burn's offer to be a challenge to his rule.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: King Manju and Cho Pan are some of the shortest members of the cast, but are touted to be extremely strong for their side job as zookeepers/animal wranglers. Cho in particular visibly lacks muscles compared to King, but can push toe-to-toe against a rhinoceros.
  • The Worf Effect: The amount of trouble Phoenix Feather gives them despite its users being newbies shows how strong Burn's mass-produced Bey is, as Toguro loses five times in a row against kids due to being unable to handle Feather's high-speed, while Cho notes she barely managed to win her battle against a newbie-wielded Phoenix Feather.

    King Manju

Voiced by: Ryōta Suzuki

The mighty leader of Team Zooganic, who is often accompanied by the zoo's iconic lion Shishimaru. His main Bey is the Balance-type Leon Claw.
  • Bring It: While in the midst of the beginning of the Phoenix Feather phenomenon, King asks Toguro if he thinks Phoenix Feather is stronger than his Leon Claw. And when Toguro notes that he doesn't know, albeit noting he believes in King's own strength, King's response is to laugh at the idea of a threat to his throne with an intense smile. Episode 19 in particular has him hosting the Datto event in order to show his strength against not only tons of Bladers but also Phoenix Feather itself, wanting to show it's possible for Pro Bladers to win even without the new Bey.
  • Heroic Build: While he is among the shortest males in the cast, he has a rather toned physique.
  • Meaningful Name: His last name means "ten thousand beasts". Put it with his first name and it essentially means "King of Ten Thousand Beasts".
  • Manly Man: Despite of his short stature, he is bold, competitive, charismatic and surprisingly muscular.

    Toguro Okunaga

Voiced by: Daiki Hamano

A mild-mannered but sneaky young man who takes care of the zoo's snakes. His main Bey is the Stamina-type Viper Tail.
  • Irony: The tallest member of the team, yet doesn't specialize in a strength-oriented fighting style.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Very Downplayed. His eyes are drawn to resembles a snakes, unlike his team mates he prefers trickery and psychological warfare, while his Bey is based on a viper. However, he is otherwise shown to be a perfectly affable guy.
  • Square Race, Round Class: How his "Stamina" Bey Viper Tail works — unlike usual Stamina-types that focus on making little to no contact or staying afloat, Viper Tail uses its scale-like blades to smash opponents downwards to eat away at their stamina, with the goal of ultimately outlasting them this way. The reason it's not considered an Attack-type is because its primary motive isn't to Burst or send opponents flying out like a regular Attack Bey.
  • Tender Tears: At the brink of bursting into tears after losing, but his team quickly cheers him up.
  • Uniformity Exception: The only member of the group who is not a Pint-Sized Powerhouse, and the only one who is not themed after a mammal.

    Cho Pan

Voiced by: Yuki Wakai

A Chinese girl who likes to wrestle with the zoo's big animals, particularly its rhinoceros. Her main Bey is the Defense-type Rhino Horn.
  • Anime Chinese Girl: Downplayed. Despite her name and panda motif strongly implying her to be of Chinese origin, she doesn't wear Chinese-themed clothing nor does she speak with an accent.

Team Pendragon

The current champion team of X Tower, and Ekusu's former team.

    In general
  • Badass Crew: This was such a strong team that Ekusu had to leave them just so he could finally find a real challenge by becoming their rival.

    Chrome Ryugu (Khrome Ryugu)

Voiced by: Kaito Ishikawa

The leader of Team Pendragon and currently the top Pro Blader in all of X Tower. His main Bey was formerly Dran Sword (borrowed from Ekusu), and now is the Attack-type Cobalt Drake.

    Shiguru Nanairo

Voiced by: Mariya Ise

Multi's older sister.
  • Always Someone Better: To Multi. She's a champion-level Blader attached to the best team in the world, and has a ten thousand-to-zero winning streak against her sister.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: She's seen with the exact same order as Ekusu in a flashback, and her first proper appearance in the manga sees her ordering a Cola Gummy sushi, revealing she's familiar with Komabazushi's menu.
  • Brutal Honesty: As Multi points out, she doesn't mince words when it comes to speaking her mind. As a result, if she thinks a Blader is weak, she will not hesitate to point that out, which, given her status, is pretty much every single other Blader in existence.
  • Gyaru Girl: She has tanned skin and hair dyed in three colors, which stands out significantly compared to Multi's subdued Harajuku decora stylings.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Compared to Multi who specializes in a whole range of Types, Shiguru outright states that she uses only Balance-Type Beys. Ironically, Balance-Types are still a repesentation of multiple Types rolled into a single Bey.

Team Phalanx

A Pro Team of newbie-crushers who often raid Pro-selection events to (literally) crush the Beys and dreams of players who lose to them, forcing them to swear off Beyblading for good. They are sponsored by Mountain Ramen restaurant.

    In general
  • Ambiguous Situation: While Mountain Ramen's boss walked out on them in episode 10, it's not explictly known if they lost their Pro status or simply found another Sponsor, as in episode 17 they are shown to be part of the group of Pro Bladers that Burn recruited to test Phoenix Feather against. Episode 18 reveals they are given another chance by Mountain Ramen under the order to use Phoenix Feather as their new Bey, but in defiance Takumi ends up throwing it away and dropping the restaurant as their sponsor.
  • Bad Boss:
    • Takumi is this to his subordinates Bariki and Genri, as whenever they lost a match he would proceed to crush their Beys as well, although they are teammates. Going by Genri's words, this has already happened multiple times. However, this is downplayed if not subverted since his flashback shows that despite Takumi's threats, they always stayed together as a team.
    • And then Mountain Ramen's sponsor is this to the entire team, as he is in heavy disapproval of Team Phalanx's Boring, but Practical methods and could care less about their win streak, only wanting the team to put on a show to attract a fanbase for their restaurant. As Team Phalanx's humiliating "lack of entertainment" and loss to Team Persona in episode 10, it appeared to be The Last Straw that caused the manager to pull out his support and end the team's Pro status. Meiko even states that this has happened to several other Pro Teams sponsored by Mountain Ramen. They are then given another chance, but only if they use Phoenix Feather and defeat Team Persona with it. However, Takumi goes against his orders and loses with Stone Mont Blanc, but unlike the first time they were dropped, he lacks any kind of regret from his decision and is outright happy at his sponsor's statement that they will never meet again.
  • Boring, but Practical: Team Phalanx is all about defense and stamina to outlast their opponents. This not only has the problem of them being extremely predictable, but their matches are rather boring to watch as that's the only thing they do. They don't even have a Balance-type to mix things up nor do they try to take advantage of Extreme Dashes or even try to counter them to make it seem like they're trying. Compare this to Multi, who also uses defensive tactics, but knows as an influencer that a single tactic doesn't win you the game, nor your fans. Not only that, but her defensive style also has flair as when you think she's about to lose against a powerful attack, her Bey parries and counters putting some drama in her matches.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: In preparation for a 3 on 3 knockout battle with Team Persona in the X Tower, Takumi had organized a plan with his teammates that revolved purely around taking down Ekusu's Dran Sword. However, when Ekusu shows up with the brand new Dran Dagger instead, their plan immediately falls to pieces, and Takumi's teammates had to sacrifice themselves in their battles with Ekusu in order to buy time for their leader to figure out a new plan for this new Bey. Unfortunately for Team Phalanx, nothing Takumi had could match up against Ekusu's Dran Dagger.
  • Discard and Draw: Under the orders of their sponsor, they are forced to use the Purposely Overpowered Phoenix Feather against Team Persona in their rematch. However, Takumi fed up by his sponsor throws the bey away and goes back to using his old Mont Blanc.
  • Irony:
    • Despite their boasts as a Pro Team, they have never gone beyond the first floor of the X Tower. However, this may be justified by them wanting to stay close to the Pro Selection qualifiers to execute their newbie-crushing.
    • A pro team that practices newbie-crushing is also the first team shown to lose their pro status.
    • Their sponsor always berates them for their boring battles yet Takumi's defiance of his order is what got the audience excited due to how unexpected his decision of not using the Purposely Overpowered Phoenix Feather in favor of his own Stone Mont Blanc.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Team Phalanx are known as newbie crushers, who destroy the beys of their opponents to demotivate them from trying to go pro. They end up losing a match to Team Zooganic, a team that recently went pro.
  • Sacrificial Lion: They are the first team shown to lose their pro status due to their lack of popularity to showcase the harshness of the pro world.
  • True Companions: Their leader's harshness aside, this team still stayed with each other for over a decade to become pros.
  • Worth It: While they were unable to get their sponsor back, none of them regret Takumi's decision to defy their sponsor's orders since he was able to truly fight as himself and regain his pride rather than desperately trying to appease their Bad Boss.

    Takumi Ishiyama

Voiced by: Kenn

The ruthless leader of Team Phalanx. His main Bey is the Defense-type Stone Mont Blanc.
  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: His Stone Mont Blanc is renamed Stone Mountain in English.
  • Curb-Stomp Cushion: While he still loses to Kamen X in their second battle, X still comments his strength and notes he has improved compared to their previous battle.
  • Crush the Keepsake: He attempts to crush his own Stone Mont Blanc when trying to end his career as a blader only to be stopped by Bird.
  • Freudian Excuse: His newbie-crusher practices stem from his claims of having over a decade's worth of Blading experience. As such he believes the title of "Pro Blader" should only be for those with the hard experience to earn it and seeks to prevent newbies with any less of an experience than him from tarnishing the title. Also not helping the matter is that despite his years of experience and training, his team is still only at the bottom floor of X-Tower. And that's going before how much of a Bad Boss his sponsor is whose unreasonable demands and insults drove him to desperation.
  • Green and Mean: While all of his team members wear green, he also has green hair and is crueler than them.
  • Graceful Loser: He accepts his third loss against Kamen X this way since he was able to finish the battle on his terms rather than rely on Phoenix Feather along with escaping the toxic environment his sponsor has made.
  • Honor Before Reason: Since Stone Mont Blanc has been his partner since the start of his career, he is unwilling to switch to another bey even though other sponsors would rather want him to drop the bey and use something more exciting.
  • The Last Dance: When trying to quit blading, he decides to have several last battles with his Stone Mont Blanc with him going into a stadium filled with rookies and blading against all of them till the point of exhaustion. Once no one's capable of blading anymore, he tries to crush his Bey to truly end his career and passion.
  • The Leader: Of Team Phalanx.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Downplayed; While he isn't the nicest person, he stopped crushing Beys after his loss to Kamen X.
  • The Worf Effect: He is defeated by King Manju to showcase the strength of the new pro team.

Team Yggdrasil

A Pro Team under the direct employment of Yggdrasil Pharmaceuticals, the world's foremost leading pharmaceutical company.

    In general
  • Adaptation Expansion: The anime gives them a longer build-up before they finally clash against Team Persona than in the manga.
  • Badass Crew: Each of their current members is remarked to be exceptionally skilled beybladers.
  • Whatever Happened to the Mouse?: While we see that one of the former members of Burn's team had chose to quit, it's unsaid of what happened to the other member on whether they quit or something else happened that required Burn to recruit two more Bladers to his team.

    Burn Fujiwara

Voiced by: Yūsuke Kobayashi

The leader of Team Yggdrasil and young heir to Yggdrasil Pharmaceuticals. His main Bey is the Attack-type Phoenix Wing.
  • The Ace: He broke Ekusu's record in beating Kadovar, which already was a few seconds.
  • Alternate Company Equivalent: He is rather similar to Gui from Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress since they both see themselves as visionaries taking the world of a game to a whole new level by making everyone follow a certain playstyle. Gui does this through the Uniformer program influencing other fighters to follow a technical playstyle to win cardfights, while Burn makes an overpowered high-speed Bey that he distributes for free to everyone. This does however come at the cost of making the world of their respective game more stagnant with little to no variation.
  • Benevolent Boss: When one of his old teammates stated he wanted to quit due to feeling he drags his team down, Burn accepts his decision and wishes him good luck for the future while thanking him for all the effort he put into the team.
  • Ditzy Genius: Downplayed, but it's there - in the manga, after seeing the unlimited potential for Beyblade presented by people like X, he promptly dashes off to do more research, completely forgetting that he was still technically in the middle of a Pro match and leaving his two teammates by themselves much to their exasperation. In the anime, he fails to show up on time as he was focused on developing the final touches for Phoenix Wing, only arriving after both his team-mates have already battled.
  • Dub Name Change: His Bey Phoenix Wing was renamed Phoenix Soar in South Korea, then Soar Phoenix in official English.
  • Ethereal Choir: Many of his major scenes involve ominous yet heavenly chanting playing in the background.
  • Graceful Loser: While he does believe that the Phoenix line is the fastest in the world, even going so far as to declare Kamen X as part of the past, he ends up taking his defeat by X very well, declaring him "beautiful", thanking him for his glorious performance and being proof that Beyblade can continuously evolve, and promptly rushes off to do more research after being inspired by seeing X's "Xtreme Dash Infinity."
  • The Leader: Of Team Yggdrasil.
  • Lightning Bruiser: His Bey, Phoenix Wing, is heavy, in fact being the second heaviest Bey behind Cobalt Drake at time of writing. This does not affect its position as one of the fastest ever made. As a result, Phoenix Wing is capable of dealing out and taking a significant portion of damage due to its design.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: A Bishōnen with very long Anime Hair.
  • Noblesse Oblige: A firm believer of this with him believing that it is his task to take Beyblading to a whole new world, and also believes it's the task of those who are also in positions of power in the Beyblading scene.
  • One-Man Army: Episode 17 has him take on five Bladers including Phalanx by himself and winning with ease. And in Phoenix Wing's demonstration battle in Episode 24, he takes out both Yeti and Sphi in a single attack in less than a second much like Ekusu's first on-screen battle in the first episode.
  • Princely Young Man: Heir to a MegaCorp, good-looking, and outright invokes Noblesse Oblige as his motto in life.
  • Purposely Overpowered: Through tons of research and data, his Phoenix Wing is so powerful that even its mass-produced version Phoenix Feather is strong enough for newbies to defeat pros.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: After seeing the predicament of Phalanx with their leader trying to quit blading due to being unable to find another sponsor, he buys out Mountain Ramen so that they can continue being pros simply because he wants to see Takumi's growth.
  • Speed Demon: Burn's ideal view to change the Beyblading world is to boost the speed of Beyblades, idolizing the idea of striving to make the game faster than it ever has been before. It's to the point that when he finally meets Ekusu, he hugs the boy out of sheer admiration for what his incredible Beyblading speed had done for the tournament scene.
  • Super-Empowering: In a sense; His purpose for mass-distributing Phoenix Feathers (touted as the fastest Beyblade in history) was to grant all Bladers Hyper-Awareness when they adapt to its use through something he dubs the "Bey Time-Shift", allowing them to not only keep up with the Flash Step speed of an Xtreme Dash but also to outmaneuver it, ultimately bringing Beyblading to greater heights when the In-Universe Game-Breaker Xtreme Dash move is no longer invincible. By the time of his and Ekusu's fateful battle in the X Tower, it has reached a point that people are now able to actually keep up with and see Dran Dagger's Xtreme Dash, and earlier on, Bird was just barely able to see Phoenix Wing during its demonstration battle thanks to the Phoenix Feather phenomena. The only problem with this plan, Ekusu is used to speeds even higher than that, far surpassing Burn's expectations as Ekusu delivers his seemingly undefeatable Phoenix Wing a powerful Xtreme Finish via an Xtreme Dash Infinity.
  • Tears of Joy: During his battle with Ekusu in the X Tower, once Phoenix Wing begins to initiate the Xtreme Dash Burning Maneuver, Burn begins to shed these out of pure excitement upon witnessing the Bey Time-Shift and the new advent of speed in action.

    Zonamos Nekoyama

Voiced by: Mitsuaki Kanuka, Eri Kitamura (Sphi)

A Riddle Crafter who runs his own amusement park, Zonamos House, along with his mascots and assistants Sphi and Yeti. He later gets recruited by Burn as a Pro Blader of Yggdrasil. His main Bey is the Defense-type Sphinx Cowl, while his assistants use different colored variants of the same Bey, zona.
  • Big Fun: Despite seeming like a Fat Bastard at first, he is ultimately more of a The Gadfly, and has shown to have a sense of fair play and honor. And after his and Bird's battle in the X Tower, he's more happy that Bird managed to figure out his riddle than for the result of the battle, happily upgrading the statue of Bird's head in Zonamos House to a gold one, albeit to a reluctant Bird's dismay.
  • Commonality Connection: Burn recruits him due to feeling they are kindred souls with a sense of Noblesse Oblige
  • Gonk: He is a large and rotund man with the face of a monkey.
  • Master of Disguise: Played with. He initially presents himself disguised as his amusement park mascot Sphi to guide and observe Bladers who enter to play, explaining Sphi's abnormally tall height despite the stark difference in body shape. However, after Team Persona becomes the first to solve his main attraction Riddle and Bey, he reveals to them that they are actually separate entities all along.
  • Puzzle Boss: Considering he's a Riddle Crafter, he loves tying puzzles into his battles for his opponent to solve:
    • When Team Persona made it to the final test in Riddle and Bey, they were given a riddle to figure out what to do over the course of several battles against him: "Execute it. Do it.", said in Gratuitous English for reference, and the depiction of a spinning cube from the 4X System. Upon closer observation, the cube was actually a box, and Zonamos' riddle being in English hinted that some translation needed to be done, with "spinning box" in Japanese translating to "Spin Box". And by breaking it down further, you get Spin, and the letters B, O, and X. The test was to score all four types of finishes from either side, Spin Finish (Scored by Multi), Burst Finish (Scored by Zonamos against Bird), Over Finish, and Xtreme Finish. (Both scored by Ekusu)
    • In order to make his battle with Bird in the X Tower more interesting, he offers up to make their battle a Variant Battle, in which Bird has to face Zonamos, Sphi, and Yeti at the same time and also figure out and complete the riddle: Defeat Zonamos' Bey. Turns out that Zonamos' Bey is the black Sphinx Cowl, as the "Zonamos" who used the golden Sphinx Cowl was actually Sphi in disguise, and while Bird manages to figure this out, he fails to defeat it in time, losing the battle as a result of a very close Spin Finish with the black Sphinx Cowl narrowly outspinning his Hells Chain.
  • Willfully Weak: He holds back in his battles inside the amusement park to give the challengers a fair chance since his actual level is impressive even on the level of pros.

    Yuni Namba

Voiced by: Ryoko Maekawa

An influencer and Pro Blader of Team Yggdrasil. Her main Bey is the Balance-type Unicorn Sting.
  • Crowd Pleaser: Yuni's life as an influencer focuses around pleasing those around her, both people in general and the crowd. However, this is deconstructed as she simply tries to follow through with what others want instead of herself, to the point that she had to hide her love for Beyblading from fellow school peers when it was apparent they weren't interested in it. Her battle with Multi in the X-Tower ultimately gives her the chance to grow past this, thanks to Multi questioning Yuni on why she enjoys Beyblading during their match.
  • Fan Community Nickname: Inverted In-Universe, as her fans refer to her as Yunity.
  • Fangirl: If she finds someone inspirational to her and stronger as well, i.e. Burn and later on Multi, she'll practically be fangirling about them like she does with Burn, and in the preview narration for Episode 24, she was apparently clinging to Multi after her inspirational match against her with Bird noting she's gotten even weirder in her admiration.
  • The Social Expert: With her status as a very popular influencer, Yuni's constantly able to keep track of what's trendy or popular, always staying on top of what the crowd wants to see whether it comes to fashion or Beyblade battling.

Team Dreams

A temporary team selected by popular vote to battle against Team Persona in the All-Star Beybattle.
     Queen Manju
A veteran Blader who has been in the sport for over 25 years, and was voted in as the most popular individual Blader. Her main Bey is the Defense-type Shinobi Shadow.
  • Cool Old Lady: While it's obvious she's definitely up there in years, she's been Blading for over 25 of them, and has lost only 9 times over 10,008 battles.
  • High-Class Fan: Carries one of these around.
  • Living Legend: Described as such word-for-word by Ichigo. It's distinctly mentioned that it's impossible to discuss Beyblade history without mentioning her at least once.
  • Mythology Gag: Beyblade X in real-life celebrates Beyblade's 25-year-anniversary, which provides the implication that she's been a Blader since the beginning of the franchise. Not only that, eight of the "nine Bladers'' she lost to are all implied to be the various protagonists of previous iterations in the franchise's historynote , with the ninth being Chrome Ryugu himself.
  • Never Mess with Granny: She is King's grandma and is still a formidable Blader, who only lost nine battles in her career.
     Rex Jura
A Pro Blader from Floor 88, voted in as the 2nd most popular individual Blader behind Queen. His main Bey is the Attack-type Tyranno Beat.
  • Once a Season: His Tyranno Beat is the main "jumping gimmick Bey" for this iteration of the series.
  • Self-Disposing Villain: He loses to Kamen X, who simply has Dran Buster dodge Tyranno Beat's attacks until the bey's jumps cause it to jump out of the stadium with it never even touching Dran Buster.
     Pakkun
A Beytuber with over 45 million subscribers, who got his start as a Beycrafter who makes replicas and was voted in as the 3rd most popular individual Blader. The main Bey he used in his initial appearance is a knockoff of Bird's/Multi's Balance-type Hells Hammer.
  • Goggles Do Nothing: He constantly wears a VR headset, despite never actually using it nor having a reason to wear it everywhere.
  • Insult Backfire: He trash-talks Bird after defeating him, saying that if he was that weak, he wouldn't have bothered to steal Hells' Hammer's design, even calling him trash. Multi then throws his words back in his face after defeating him, stating that, by his own definition, he is also trash.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is based on the Japanese slang term Pakuri/パクリ/"Ripoff".
  • Mirror Match: He uses a copy of Hells Hammer against Bird. Multi instantly knows he stole her design, as she never posts her files online.
  • Power Copying: He rose to popularity as a Beycrafter replicating well-known beys to the point that they're more or less identical. Multi even goes as far as to describe his work as "inhuman."
  • Stolen Credit Backfire: He stole the designs of Hells Hammer, and ends up trash-talking Bird after beating him with it. Unbeknownst to him, she recorded said trash-talk, which included a smug confession that he stole the design to begin with. Initially, when this recording goes public after Multi defeats him, it's implied his popularity took a massive hit, but the following chapter has him accusing her of using Manipulative Editing in the hopes of getting the match cancelled as a whole. This ends up Gone Horribly Right as both him and Multi are eliminated from the matchup until investigations can clear up the matter, while the match still continues on.

X Tower

The central location in X City where all Pro Bladers gather to have their official matches.

    Zerogo

Voiced by: Wataru Komada

A male Artificial Intelligence who usually serves as the commentator for matches.

    Ichigo

Voiced by: Rina Hidaka

A female AI who acts as X Tower's guide and livestream presenter.
  • Auto-Incorrect: She tends to interpret Bird getting tounge-tied as him making grandiose statements. If Carlo's comment on her is any indication, she has a reputation for twisting words to make them more interesting.
  • The Face: She's essentially X Tower's mascot, appearing on official broadcasts as well as being present at events such as the Datto. She also represents X Tower's administration, enforcing multiple rules and regulations as well as communicating information such as mid-match rule changes to the participants.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: During the Shuffle Battle Fest, she makes a surprise appearance as Burn and Cho's teammate.

    Nigo

Voiced by: Hazuki Ogino

A female AI voice that acts as the Combat Referee for official battles within the X Tower.
  • The Faceless: She only exists as a voice that delivers match rulings, and as such has no avatar of her own unlike Zerogo and Ichigo.

    Kadovar

Voiced by: Makoto Furukawa

A Pro Blader employed by the world's Beyblade Management Organisation, B4. Passing his test is required for Pro Bladers to progress to Floor 2 of the X Tower. His main Bey is the Stamina-type Wyvern Gale.
  • Hot-Blooded: Very enthusiastic at his job and Beyblade in general.
  • Perma-Stubble: Just to emphasize him being a lot older than Team Persona.

Others

    Carlo Maruko

Voiced by: Ryōta Takeuchi

One of the veteran Pro Bladers who had fought in the X Tower, being encountered by Bird and Ekusu during the Single Battle Fest. Some time after his fellow teammates retired as a result of a vicious loss streak following a loss to Team Pendragon, he had decided on retiring himself after spending so many years battling in the X Tower. His main Bey is his own copy of Strike Hawk.
  • Canon Foreigner: He doesn't appear in the manga.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: One of his main reasons for retiring, as due to his team's brutal loss streak and teammates' retirement, Carlo eventually came to the conclusion that he had reached his limits for Pro Blading.
  • The Last Dance: A career-based example, as he is determined to have his final battle, and tournament in general, as a Pro Blader be one hell of a challenge to retire on, always asking a wish of his opponent to fight him with everything they got. And fortunately for him, his last match in the Single Battle Fest is Kamen X, who he is unaware underneath the mask is Ekusu, one of the members of the team that stopped Carlo's own dead in its tracks in the X Tower.

    Hina

Voiced by: Misaki Kuno

Bird's first and biggest fangirl who was inspired by his Determinator attitude. Her main Bey was initially a Wizard Arrow, before switching to a copy of Burn's mass-produced Attack-type Phoenix Feather.
  • Canon Foreigner: She doesn't appear in the manga.
  • Fan of the Underdog: Despite Bird's infamous loss streak, she is a fan of him due to his determination, having been inspired to keep playing Beyblade by him as she hadn't won any matches of her own at the time.
  • The Worf Effect: Downplayed. She manages to defeat Bird using Phoenix Feather. While he still hasn't won a single match at that point, it is still a remarkable feat as he has a longer experience than her and is officially recognized as a "Pro" Blader. This is done to showcase the power of the mass-produced Phoenix Feather Burn developed
