Big Brother Character Pages Cleanup: Big Troper loves you

Stuff like this is why I don't want to trope reality shows, some of these are just personal attacks on the contestants themselves rather than the "characters". It's one thing to say Kyle from Big Brother 24 is despised for trying to start a race war In-Universe, but if we're going into personal stuff that's where I draw the line. Holy balls that looks bad, I trust your judgment though I don't know why you would clean up the most atrocious page first over the newer entries in the series. But I can see the merit of troping reality shows, but if we can't trope actors or let's players, what's the point in troping unscripted reality shows? These aren't actors, these are real people.

tl;dr: I'm not seeing the point of troping reality shows, and this page is only proving my point.

That's an excellent conversation to have honestly, it's rough because it is ultimately a fictional show being made out of real experiences.

The problem we're running into here (that oddly doesn't seem to be a problem for say, Survivor) is that they're actively treating these pages as a way to trope real people I think.

It's probably at least partially because of the damn live feeds that catch everything they do (which probably shouldn't be included in the troping but are) if I had to guess.

I just looked at the most recent season...

Tempted to remove a bunch of the Kyle stuff for being live-feeds only, that's not really the aired show?

[up][up][up] There definitely should be a discussion, especially when it comes to shows that encourage audience participation to influence the show's outcome (e.g. Big Brother, The X Factor, etc.).

Except the stuff with Kyle was acknowledged by the characters on the show. They aired the comments on the show. It's like removing the comments made by Gina Marie and Aaryn when they happened. The show treated that as a Very Special Episode about race and even had a dreaded content warning. Same with the comments on Big Brother 20 about how derogatory terms can affect anyone.

Wait you're right sorry, I was referring to the fact that they were talking about "live feeders thought so and so" and stuff... my bad

I'm removing any Spoiled Brat examples I can find (I'm surprised it's not NRLEP). Namely because it's the kid version of Entitled Bastard/Bitch (which is also a problem on the character pages).

Edit: Spoiled Brat is a morality trope, which is NRLEP by default

Ok it was suggested to look at the newest season, it's not as bad as the 16-20 era but there are some reasonable cuts.

     Big Brother 24

Michael is not an Eldritch being last I checked.

  • Informed Attribute: Aside from winning one HoH, there really isn't much screaming "Comp Beast" about him, especially compared to people like Michael. Yet the non-Leftovers treat him like he's the mastermind of the alliance AND the comp winner. This becomes zig-zagged however when he ends up being the one to take the shot at Michael.

It's not really informed, he did win stuff and how exactly does him taking a shot at Michael make him a comp beast exactly?

  • Karmic Eviction: Because he was such a comp beast, Monte, Turner, and Taylor decide that final 6 is the best time to evict him.

How is this karma?

Twitter = Not on the show

  • Female Misogynist: Paloma's second in command for turning the house guests against Taylor.

Taylor is not all females

  • Jerkass: Targets Michael solely on being a superfan, when not only is he one, but he's also in an alliance with one. He was also the first to target Taylor and has a rather Irrational Hatred of her. To say he's one of the people fans want to see go home over others is just the tip of iceberg. Thankfully, he's evicted one week before the Jury phase.

Removed the Michael and the "he is one of the ones we would like to see go!" parts

  • Dirty Cop: Was once a detective cop for 13 years, and also a huge Jerkass towards Taylor.

Not what the trope means.

  • Never My Fault: Much like Paloma, he has been adamantly denying any bullying of Taylor, saying that viewers don't see everything that happens in the house; fans have, naturally, not hesitated to show him footage of nasty things he said about her.
  • Never My Fault: Reacts this way on Twitter in response to being called out for her bullying of Taylor, making every ridiculous claim that Taylor was bullying HER somehow and that the livefeeds aren’t know to show everything despite past alumni claims of the contrary.

Twitter = Not on the show.

As the one who added the Jerkass thing to Daniel Durston's page I feel it doesn't mean much anymore given he doesn't make jury, most of his nastiest stuff is on Twitter (gaslighting Taylor, and harassing Turner for being LGBTQ+), and while he is an unpleasant person, practically everyone in the house was like him at one point. The only valid sentence I could see keeping should be moved to Irrational Hatred, but again that was more or less EVERYONE including the eventual Runner-Up. Sympathy for the Devil can also be removed from Paloma as its solely based on fan reaction, as in YMMV, the only In-Universe example of the trope is the alliance that shattered two weeks into the game to form The Leftovers.

Ok so someone editing bb17 hates Vanessa lol

Vanessa and the horrible no good fanbase

  • All According to Plan: Vanessa was the most strategic player. Every move she made she had planned. Every single fight with a houseguest that happened, she had orchestrated as target placement of a the houseguest she wanted to be targeted and evicted. She would strategically throw competitions and win competitions according to her plan. She would backstab and betray the people that she felt were a threat to her game. But in the end, Vanessa's plan ended up failing as she did not bet on Steve winning the final Head of Household and cutting her. Vanessa has even said during a DR session that she thought Steve would take her to the final 2 over Liz. But she was wrong. So in the end, Vanessa failed.

Removed some natter

  • Alpha Bitch: Vanessa is very controlling, bossy, and domineering. She likes to control everything and if she doesn't get her way, she resorts to causing trouble and drama. Vanessa is a Magnificent Bitch, a Manipulative Bitch, The Bully, an evil blonde, and a Drama Queen all rolled into one. Vanesa is extremely confrontational and argumentative, meaning that she will start fights with other people to embarrass them, shame them or harass them. Vanessa's tendency to start fights with other houseguests was strategic, as she felt that she could put a target on houseguests. She is willing to intimidate and bully other people to get her way and she will sabotage other people's games to achieve her goals. She is openly rude and intimidating towards other houseguests and does not seem to have any consideration for who she hurts in the process. Despite her terrible personality and her horrible behaviour, Vanessa still had a lot of followers and minions that were loyal to her and willing to do anything for her in the game. However, she is also an Evil Genius and Manipulative Bitch who has proven to be very strategic, cunning, and sharp in regards to the game and otherhouseguests intentions.

Outright removing lol

  • Arch-Enemy: Vanessa has quite a few of these. It’s not surprising considering what she's done and how many people she's betrayed throughout the game.
    • John: Probably the biggest contender as her one true enemy throughout the entire game. John and Vanessa have been on opposing sides with John being the Big Good and Vanessa being the Big Bad of the season. Vanessa has always viewed John as a threat to her game. John has always been onto Vanessa and her tactics, but has never been able to do anything about it. Vanessa has been John’s number one target for the entire game and he has told numerous houseguests about this. John has also said that he does not like the way Vanessa intimidates and bullies other houseguests. John even flat out called Vanessa out on her behaviour, even referring to Vanessa as The Bully to her face. Vanessa did not take this well and she ended up targeting him even more than before. After John is evicted and comes back after winning the jury re-entry competition, John decides to play Enemy Mine and make a Deal with the Devil by aligning with Vanessa. It doesn’t end well as Vanessa ends up targeting him again. In the Final 4, Vanessa ends up being the sole vote to evict him and he is sent to jury as the eighth jury member. It is very obvious that John and Vanessa had no loyalties to each other, as John said after his second eviction that he would have evicted Vanessa and not honored their “Final 2 deal”. There is also the fact that John and Vanessa had strongly conflicting personalities and they just did not like each other or respect each other on a personal level.
    • Becky: Vanessa describes Becky as this in a DR in Episode 24 (Week 8). The biggest reason why Vanessa viewed Becky as an enemy is because Becky was onto Vanessa and was planning on coming after her. Becky ends up winning Head of Household and targets Vanessa for eviction. Vanessa thought that she was untouchable and invincible and that she would never touch the block. After Becky backdoors Vanessa once Steve won the Power of Veto, Vanessa throws a temper tantrum at Becky, saying that she will get revenge against her for putting her on the block. Vanessa gets so angry at Becky that she ends up calling Becky a “cold-hearted bitch” and a mean person. Becky also shows her visible dislike for Vanessa and did not respect her or her gameplay. Becky would constantly trash talk Vanessa to other houseguests, saying that she was a manipulative bitch who cries all the time and makes herself come off as a victim. Becky would also make fun of Vanessa by imitating her behaviour. For Becky, Vanessa was her number one enemy. For Vanessa, Becky was a secondary enemy in the game after John.
    • Austin: The two started out as close allies in the game from the beginning. They had even made a promise that they would take each other to the end. However, at some point, Vanessa had made plans on back dooring Austin, Vanessa felt as though Austin was betraying her and turning on her. Vanessa claimed that she caught Austin lying and throwing her under the bus to other houseguests. Vanessa ended up forgiving Austin after he begged her for a second chance. But in Week 12, Vanessa made plans on targeting Austin once more. After John (her first target) had won the Final 5 Power of Veto, Vanessa replaced John with Austin. Austin, even though nominated, felt that he was safe against Steve on the block. But during the final 5 eviction, Vanessa ended up blindsiding Austin in the most dirty imaginable after the vote went to a tie and Vanessa broke it. Austin ended up extremely angry and bitter at Vanessa even going so far as saying that Vanessa will not get the jury votes if she makes it to the Final 2 chairs. Austin even said in his interview to Julie that he will make sure that Vanessa does not win the game. Vanessa ended up turning a once ally into a angry enemy. When Vanessa was cut at Final 3 by Steve, Austin was elated and happy to see that Vanessa was cut when she was so close to getting to the end and winning.
    • James: James had been targeting Vanessa for a while. The reason for this is because Vanessa had been targeting and evicting James' allies one by one. She went after Jeff, Da'Vonne, Audrey and Jason, all of which were James' allies in the game. James has also been onto Vanessa and her gameplay, even openly stating tthat he does not respect the way Vanessa plays the game because she plays way too hard and aggressive. When James confronted Vanessa and told this to her face, Vanessa took it as a huge insult and targeted James even more than before. Vanessa also was after James because he was obviously targeting her allies, such as Shelli and Clay. James was the one who was responsible for Vanessa's allies, Shelli and Clay, being nominated and one of them going home (Clay). James saw that Vanessa was the most dangerous player in the game and had a strong desire to take her out. Unfortunately for him, he managed to fail. Despite James and Vanessa's differences in the game and them being on opposite sides of the house, James admits later on that if Vanessa were in the Final 2, he would have voted for her to win, despite him saying earlier on that he did not like the way Vanessa played the game.

This is too long, I'm going to remove it and maybe re-add stuff back later.

  • Attention Whore: It is obvious that many of Vanessa's antics or behaviour conducted in the game were mostly strategic on Vanessa's part. This includes her desire to be the centre of attention at all times by being argumentative. Vanessa will also cry out of the blue, even when there is no reason for her to be crying in the first place. She did this because she wanted attention and sympathy from the other houseguests. It is clear that Vanessa is a mega Drama Queen who loves drama for the hell of it. Vanessa's attention seeking ways managed to turn off many of the other houseguests.

Bro

  • Bait the Dog/Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: During pre season and the first couple of weeks of the season, Vanessa seemed like she would be a likeable houseguest. However, as the weeks passed, Vanessa's true colors came out and it was evident that she was a very unlikeable person. Instead of being a likeable houseguest, Vanessa revealed herself to be a very mean, aggressive, hateful and domineering individual who was also a drama queen who cried gratuitouslyfor attention. She progressively got worse as the season went on to the point where her popularity amongst the audience dropped so low that she became one of the most hated or disliked houseguests of the season.

Ignoring that people actually like Vanessa, wtf

  • Believing Their Own Lies: Every time that Vanessa opens her mouth, she is lying about something. She states that she hates people who lie to her, yet she has no problem doing it herself. Vanessa lies so much but she doesn't seem to realize that she is lying herself. And when she is lying, she has a tendency to believe that what she is saying is the truth or is reality. Vanessa will use mind games while lying to other people by trying to convince them that she is telling the truth while they are the ones who are lying when it is very apparent when Vanessa is the one doing the lying and the deceiving in the first place.

I fail to see the example of her believing her own lies so cut

  • Big Bad: Could be considered to be the overall villain of the season, which is the opposite of John (John and Vanessa were each other's one true Arch-Enemy and the two butted heads for the entire game) who could be seen as the overall The Hero and Big Good. Vanessa is an Alpha Bitch, an Evil Genius, The Bully, a Consummate Liar, and a Manipulative Bitch. It doesn't help that she is extremely aggressive and that she seems to take pleasure in bullying people and emotionally manipulating others. She has also lied to and backstabbed almost every single houseguest with little to no remorse. She will start fights with people but then blame the other person for starting the fight while she plays the victim card. Vanessa is also a dirty player who has gotten personal and petty during the game. Many of her moves have been personal and she unnecessarily treated other houseguests terribly. Her status as villain was briefly downplayed during Week 11, when she solidified an alliance with John and Steve. However, she went back to being the villain in Week 12 after she targets John. It was clear that she was the most dangerous player of the entire season. Vanessa had played the role of The Man Behind the Man aka the puppet master that controlled everything.

Cutting the middle for having too much.

  • Bitch Alert: Vanessa is a very emotional, volatile and aggressive person. She is also The Bully who likes to intimidate people to get her way. She is a bitch and she seems to make it known to everyone that she likes to be the one in control. Vanessa doesn't seem to care that she backstabs and lies to people as long as she gets her way. She obviously believes that she is the one who runs the house. Vanessa can walk into a room and everyone would be able to sense or feel her major bitch vibe. She also come across as very intimidating.

Lolwut

Uh yeah don't think this fits the trope.

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Vanessa originally presented herself as someone who was friendly and approachable. But with time, she exposed her true personality. She ended up being a huge Alpha Bitch who was controlling, manipulative and confrontational. She's also a bully who likes to constantly pick fights with other houseguests for the hell of it. And she's also a Drama Queen and an Attention Whore who completely thrives off of drama and fighting. If she doesn't get the attention she wants, she'll throw a temper tantrum or end up treating everyone else like garbage.

You already used this trope earlier- oh well.

I'm busy will finish later

Ok actually I'll start with the Prejurors for this season, for some reason there's some really oddly wrong stuff there

     bb 17 Prejurors removed tropes

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Acted like a nice guy at first, but due to his aggressive tendencies and bullying attitude, this is the trope to use.

Ok I'm sick and tired of this trope being everywhere here. It's a strategy game, people are going to have moments you don't like lol.

  • Brainless Beauty: Jason calls him this in a diary room confession. It's subverted. Double subverted when he asks everyone to evict him.

Ok so first off this is subverted. Second off sacrificing yourself for someone else doesn't really make you brainless?

  • Hot-Blooded: Many see him as this and a bully. He has gotten into some pretty big arguments with Da'Vonne (in Week 1) and Audrey (in Week 4), blamed Vanessa for the botched backdoor plan (that he and Shelli had a hand in changing) on Austin after he and Shelli are put up for eviction and got into such a heated an argument with James (thanks to John's headgames) that the two looked as if they were about to get into a fight (both in Week 6). If the latter happened, while this would have granted Clay's wish to be the one out of him and Shelli to be evicted, Clay likely would have been expelled from the game pre-ceremony (which would have meant he wouldn't return for the finale a la Chima).

Removed the last part and the "many see him as this and a bully"

  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: After he and Shelli's eviction nominations are sealed after HOH James wins the Power of Veto in Week 6, Clay decides to campaign against himself to keep Shelli in the game (the couple had earlier agreed not to campaign against each other, with both honoring their word). Although most of the other houseguests were leaning towards taking out Shelli at first, Clay gets his wish in the end, getting evicted in a landslide 9-0 vote. YMMV whether his decision to sacrifice his own game for Shelli was a really sweet move or warrants a "what are you thinking?!" for giving up a chance at winning $500,000. It may fall into the latter when she was evicted the next week anyway. Even moreso since he was the last houseguest to be evicted pre-jury, meaning he and Shelli didn't see each other until the finale, since was still part of the game as a jury member.

Removed all the YMMV stuff for being ridiculous.

Strangely unfitting.

  • Lovable Jock: He's a football player and pretty nice especially to animals. Subverted, though as he has a tendency to be...
  • Mr. Fanservice: He's built like a brick house and isn't afraid to show it off.

Removed the "it's subverted" part because how is that a subversion. Was something removed??

  • Pet the Dog: His relationship with Shelli was one of his few redeeming qualities.

Failing to see how he had few redeeming qualities.

Game suicide does not equal Suicide by Cop, misuse.

  • Alpha Bitch: A male variant. He's very catty. Though not as bad as Frankie.

Removed Frankie reference... should I just remove all of it?

  • Badass Boast: Jason is definitely the type of person to call people out when they mess up.

Not really what a boast is.

Not what the trope means.

  • A House Divided: Many of the houseguests want Audrey out because of her backstabbing behavior, but some (particularly, Vanessa) are hesitant to do so, with Da'Vonne even suggesting the reason why is because they don't want to seem transphobic for evicting her so soon in the game. Vanessa even stated this as her reason why she opted not to put Audrey up for eviction during her HOH reign in Week 3 was because of the potentially transphobic implications that might arise, given Vanessa is involved in organizations helping the LGBT community. The scales fall out of her favor in Week 4, when she drives away her remaining allies with her growing insecurity about her safety in the game... after previously feeling comfortable about being secure.

Written at the time of airing, misuse.

  • Alas, Poor Villain: Even though Audrey caused so much drama and problems in the house, it is absolutely heartbreaking to see Audrey's breakdown during the week that she was on the block. All of her allies had turned on her because they no longer trusted her or what she said anymore (and understandably so). After Shelli, Vanessa and Clay expressed to her face that they no longer trusted her, Audrey goes through a mega Sanity Slippage from there. During the Veto meeting, Vanessa decides to remove Jason from the block with the Veto and Shelli names Audrey as the replacement nominee. However, Audrey is so distraught over her allies throiwng her under the bus, that she doesn't even show up to the Veto meeting. On top of it, Audrey is also a Have Not (but this does not stop her from breaking the rules and eating regular food). Audrey goes into severe depressive mode when she decides to isolate herself from the rest of the house and secludes herself (wearing a blanket and sunglasses) in the Have Not room. She also goes to the DR and spends hours in there, which makes the other houseguests concerned that she may have self evicted because she is so emotionally drained. In addition, Audrey also receives a penalty vote at the live eviction for breaking the Have Not rules. Although Audrey created so much problems in the house and started so many lies about everyone on top of playing a very poor game, one cannot help but feel strong sympathy for Audrey and her situation. Audrey was definitely dealt a bad hand that week and the game definitely took a major emotional toll on her. It was not surprising to see how much better Audrey had looked when she was evicted and finally out of the house. It was clear that the Big Brother house was a toxic environment for Audrey.

Gigantic wall of text, snipped.

  • Attention Whore: Audrey seems to love attention and being the centre of it. She does very out there things in the house that will gain attention and sympathy from other people. An example of her attention seeking behavior is her constantly making up unnecessary lies about other houseguests in order to start arguments in the house. Audrey seems to thrive on the concept of drama. She loves to stir the pot and call attention to herself, even if it makes her a target for the other houseguests. Another example of Audrey's attention seeking ways is during the week when she was backdoored and was a Have Not. Audrey decided to defy Big Brother rules by eating regular food as a Have-Not which was basically her lashing out and throwing a tantrum for her allies turning against her because of her shady actions. She also did not show up to the Veto meeting, a meeting in which she was being backdoored or nominated. After all of her allies turned on her and she was backdoored, she spent the entire rest of the week not speaking to anyone and secluding and isolating herself in the Have Not room. She also spent hours and hours in the DR, which led to many houseguests talking about the possilbity of her leaving the game or self evicting. It is obvious that Audrey's behavior before she went on the block and after she went on the block was a cry for sympathy and attention from the other houseguests. Many of the houseguests physically shunned her but she did manage to get the other houseguests to talk or discuss her and her strange behavior. Audrey's antics throughout the course of her time in the game was all about gaining attention.

I fail to see how any of this was about gaining attention.

  • Birds of a Feather: Notes this upon meeting Jason, given that they are both part of the LGBT community (Jason is gay and Audrey is a transgender female). In fact, she stated that if anyone was going to be one of the first two HOH's, she was glad it was Jason, since they were "bonded by culture". However, even though they are both part of the same community, Jason has stated that he was sick of Audrey because he was tired of her unnecessary lies and antics which led to unnecessary drama and chaos in the house.

Romance trope lol.

  • Blatant Lies: In Week 2, Audrey claims Vanessa is the one who tried to start an all-girls alliance, only for Vanessa to reveal she had nothing to do with it. Da'Vonne ended up calling a house meeting and calling her out on her lies. It was then that Audrey's lies about other people caused her to have a huge target on her back and after that situation, nobody, including her own allies (such as Clay, Shelli, and Vanessa), no longer trusted Audrey and they threw her to the wolves. The point is that audrey's biggest downfall in the game was the constant lying that wasn't even strategic but was used to start drama and arguments in the house.

Removed last sentence

  • Drama Queen: See Attention Whore. Audrey thrives on drama. It is why she always likes to stir the pot and make up lies about the other houseguests in attempts to get everyone to turn on each other. She also seems to get off on starting fights with other people and letting chaos ensue. Audrey also showed that she is an extremely dramatic person in that when she was nominated and all of her allies turned against her, she isolated herself from everyone and did not speak to anyone. She also spent hours and hours in the DR, which made her come off as a little unhinged and emotionally unstable. It is uncertain of Audrey's behavior that week was actually real or if she was just conducting those antics because she was being dramatic and wanted sympathy and attention from everyone else. Unfortunately for her, everyone knew what Audrey was up to and they were already sick and tired of her behavior and antics that the majority of the house did not feel sorry for her and could not wait to get her out of the house. The combination of Audrey's penchant for starting drama, starting fights with other houseguests, creating unnecessary lies about others and her odd behavior were her ultimate downfall in the game.

Little rude.

  • Eviction by Irony: Audrey's BB profile interview states that she believes that fear is a "illusion"note . The events of Week 4 that led to her Sanity Slippage and eviction illustrated that she isn't as immune to fear as she made herself out to be as she began to express this emotion mixed with grave mistrust that Vanessa, Clay and Shelli would not try to keep her in the game, driving away her only allies in the process.

where is the irony

  • A Date With Rosie Palms: Jeff caught a lot of flak in Week 2 when there was a jostling motion under Jeff's covers while having a seemingly mundane conversation in bed with Julia (playing as Liz). He pointed out a "darker gray... kinda sticky" stain on Julia's shirt, with Jeff even unintentionally making it sound like he was talking about his cum. Julia was also facing away from him while having a sleep mask on. Another camera angle showed that the stain on Julia's shirt was there before the incident.

Gross. Also sounds like it was inaccurate so...

  • Black Dude Dies First: Da'Vonne is the sole Black woman of the season and the second evicted houseguest. In addition, she's the first POC to be evicted in the game and she doesn't even manage to make it to jury on top of it.

If a black houseguest being eliminated at all is grounds for this trope then it would seem to be impossible to shake.

  • Action Mom: Subverted. Although it appeared as though Da'Vonne would be a strong game player and a good competitor, she's actually one of the worst players and competitors in the game. Plus, her strategy wasn't so good either.

Okay subverted, kill it.

  • You Look Familiar: Although this was discovered until after her eviction, Da'Vonne was featured in Todrick Hall's flash-mob of Beyoncé's End Of Time which was shot in a Target store (around the 2:51 mark Da'Vonne can be clearly seen). Beyoncé actually shared this video.

Not part of the show... I think we kill it?

  • Southern Gentleman: Subverted. Jace currently lives in California, but he's actually from the Southern state of Georgia. Unfortunately, Jace most definitely does NOT fit the traits found a man who's both Southern and a gentleman. He's much more of a Frat Bro from California in how he acts, dresses and talks.

Subverted, kill it.

Is it really a subversion if it's just wrong? Lol

I do not envy the amount of Paul bashing you people will have to remove from their page. Like there was enough bashing on Raven and they even attacked her as a person. Paul, meanwhile has not only been attacked as a character but also their real life self. Given that this was before Paul became a them, this feels very much like an attack on people who identify as a they/them. I believe there's even a Politically Incorrect Villain trope on Paul's page.

Also I always thought BDDF was solely a death trope and not meant to be used as a trope where someone is removed from a reality show. And if it means if someone of black descent is removed from a competition or show entirely, that's (to use a now defunct Trope Unfortunate Implications)

One thing I can assure you of is that the Paul hate existed long before he came out as they/them, he was not a popular guy among the hardcore fan crowd due to a combo of running the entertainment into the ground, and being a bit of a production pet. Man also literally planned to taunt someone with blackface on the live feeds (which wasn't part of the show so shouldn't be troped here but it is worth mentioning).

And yeah I'm gonna check these pages and Survivor for that BDDF trope, the worst part is they aren't even using it on the first boots, just the first black boots which is ???

  • Above Good and Evil: Frankie doesn't care whether what he does is right or wrong, it's about what he wants in the end. Frankie seems to think he is above it all, including morals.

You'll notice a bunch of judgey comments on Frankie's tropes here.

Anyways this is pretty bad given this is in a game where almost everyone could be troped this way

  • Aggressive Categorism: Frankie has a tendency to judge people way too easily. He seems to be particularly prejudiced about lesbians, saying that lesbians are not born gay and that they choose their lifestyle. Frankie, despite being gay himself, does not seem to talk all that highly about homosexuals and he displays homophobic behaviour. This could be seen as internalized self hatred on Frankie's behalf. Frankie has also made some hateful and unpleasant comments about women and he seems to be highly misogynistic. When you really look at it, Frankie has disliked almost every single female houseguest of the season and has said something negative about them.

That isn't what the trope means. Also this descends into just complaining about him without giving any examples.

Now I will freely admit that this is not my most justified removal, but given he is one gay person and not all gays, I feel that this is a rather awkward trope to put on a real person.

  • A God Am I: Frankie thinks he's the best player in the entire house and that he is very powerful because he is the half brother of a famous sister. His ego is so gigantic, it's the size of the U.S.

Not what the trope means.

  • Ambition Is Evil: It is clear that Frankie endlessly winning competitions isn't about protecting his allies, but all about protecting himself. Frankie is very greedy, selfish, egotistical and power hungry.

He wins competitions, how evil!

But not the player themselves.

  • Arch-Enemy: Nicole. Frankie has had beef with her since early in the game.

Beef hardly counts as an arch enemy I think.

Good sir that is not anything.

  • The Atoner: Since his time on the house, Frankie has mellowed out into a nicer guy. In his guest appearances on other CBS shows, Frankie is a lot more beloved and his celebrity relations with sister Ariana have helped him gain a lot of love and sympathy, especially after the terrorist attack on one of her concerts. Frankie even shows massive alarm when one of his fellow former competitors plays mean on a Big Brother crossover-themed episode of the The Price Is Right, which is meant to be a very good-spirited and fair show, protesting, "We're not in the house anymore!!"

I was tempted to keep this for positivity's sake but really, this is outside the show.

  • Attention Whore: Frankie seems to enjoy being the center of attention and can't stand it when someone else is getting attention. Frankie openly admitted he was jealous of Zach and all of the attention he gets from Julie Chen. Which is probably why Frankie ended up backstabbing and betraying Zach and having him evicted. There's only room for "one star" of the season. After the Donny boot when America voted "no" on Frankie's play for Team America, he immediately got upset and openly scolded America for not liking his play.

Removed the speculation.

  • Bait the Dog: Frankie appeared as though he would be a likeable, upbeat and happy gay houseguest. Turns out that he is really extremely narcissistic, hateful, vile, attention seeking, and self absorbed. Shouldn't we have all remembered Andy from last season?

Oh my godddd it's this trope again, kill it with fire!

  • Big Bad: Frankie openly admits that he is the villain of the season, but in the grand scheme of things, Frankie is The Dragon to Derrick.

So... not the Big Bad then. k

  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Could be considered to be this with Christine, as both are being portrayed as the villains of the season.

Don't they need to be in collusion?

  • Big Ego, Hidden Depths: Frankie has openly said that he has always felt that he lived in Ariana's shadow. This could be the reason why he constantly tries to build himself up because deep down, he is very insecure. Still not an excuse for his narcissistic, attention-seeking and arrogant personality and behaviour though.

Lol

  • Birds of a Feather: With Christine. Both are very hateful, sneaky, cunning and manipulative and both of them are the biggest liars and gossipers in the house.

I mean I don't need to explain this right?

  • Born Unlucky: His luck during this season trickled over to Celebrity Big Brother in the UK. He also makes note in an interview about the upcoming Big Brother 20 that he has been on many game shows and lost on every single one (Celebrity Big Brother, The Price Is Right, Candy Crush, etc.).

Not on the show.

  • Break the Cutie: Did this to Zach when he backdoored him and betrayed him. On top if it, he basically told Zach that if he tried to campaign and stay in the house, he would make his time miserable in the house.

Zach is the cutie?? I fail to see how he was broken by this either, so cut!

  • The Chessmaster: One of the more strategic and smarter players of the game along with Derrick. However, in the grand scheme of things, Derrick is still the puppet master and mastermind of the season as Derrick is even controlling Frankie.

bruh

How?

  • Crazy Survivalist: Frankie primarily puts his own safety in the game before others, hence why he consistently goes out of his way to win absolutely every single competition he wins. He likes to make it seem that he cares about the safety of his allies, but Frankie openly said that he believes that he has "carried" all of his "allies" this far in the game with winning so much.

Misuse

  • Depraved Homosexual: His prey seem to be straight men and he seems to have a very highly sexual and even perverted nature. In fact, Frankie's outwardly sexual behaviour and uncomfortable flirting has made both viewers and the male houseguests alike very uncomfortable and some viewers have even outright said that Frankie is committing sexual harassment. Frankie has tried to come onto or has inappropriately flirted with Zach, Cody, Derrick, Caleb, and Devin, all of whom are heterosexual and quite a few of them have expressed how it makes them uncomfortable.

This is not a trope that should be on a real person honestly...

YMMV again, bye.

  • Disability as an Excuse for Jerkassery: Frankie says that he cannot be a Have Not because he suffers from a disease called Reynaud's Disease, which means that he can't handle cold climates. He uses his disability to be selfish and gain sympathy so that he does not have to be a Have Not, therefore, subjecting others to having to be Have Nots for him.

Ironically this description better fits the trope for...

  • Dirty Coward: Threw his number one ally (Zach) under he bus and backdoored him all while being petty about it. What makes it worse is that Derrick is the biggest threat in the game, yet Frankie decided that backdooring his ally was his best game move. What an idiot.

HOW IS THIS BEING A COWARD?

  • Demoted to Dragon: Frankie, thought to be the Big Bad along with Christine, is actually The Dragon to Derrick.
  • Devour the Dragon: As of Week 12, Frankie's game is coming to an end at the hands of his "Master" Derrick, who wants Frankie gone so he can be stronger and remain the biggest threat in the game. Although not as dangerous as Derrick, Frankie was still Derrick's biggest competition in the game by far and was his number one obstacle to getting to the end, even though it was a possibility that Frankie would take Derrick to the Final 2.
  • Dragon Ascendant: Frankie has now taken over the role of Big Bad now that Christine has been evicted. Derrick is still the The Man Behind the Man though.
  • Dragon-in-Chief: Averted. Frankie is thought to be more dangerous than Derrick in terms of winning numerous competitions. However, Derrick is still way more dangerous than Frankie since he is very brilliant and intelligent, is the puppet master and is controlling everything and everyone in the entire game, including Frankie.
  • The Heavy: Frankie (along with Christine) is considered to be the most prominent "villain" and he is the source of the major conflict.
  • Mouth of Sauron: Frankie is basically a Supporting Leader to Derrick and when Derrick is not taking an active role, Frankie is always picking up the slack, especially when it comes to Team America tasks.
  • Villainous Friendship: Frankie is allies and a fellow team member of Team America with Derrick.

sigh

  • Effeminate Misogynistic Guy: Frankie has made many problematic comments regarding the female houseguests. Frankie even made a comment that Jocasta should kill herself and that Brittany looks like a transvestite. Frankie also hated Amber and constantly bashed her and has repeatedly said how much he dislikes Nicole. He has also said that he wanted to punch Nicole in the mouth and he has also called Nicole the "C" word. Let's not forget that he made a horrible joke about Victoria being gang raped. He has even made hateful comments about Christine, his former number one ally. Frankie is probably the most misogynistic houseguest of the entire season.
  • Evil Has a Bad Sense of Humor: Frankie's jokes are not very funny and can be rather offensive. Such as his joke about Victoria being raped.

I'm like 99% sure this was all live feeds, so I will remove it. Gross though.

  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Well, he obviously loves his sister Ariana and his family, but probably not more than he loves himself.
  • Evil Counterpart: Ultimately could be seen as this to Zach.
  • Evil Feels Good: Seems to have little to no problem being hateful, backstabbing and manipulative, just as long as he gets what he wants.
  • Evil Former Friend: To Zach. Turns out that he is a huge liar, backstabber and preferred to place his loyalty with Derrick and Caleb instead of Zach.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Don't be fooled by Frankie's "innocent" face. He is very hateful and unlikeable.
  • Giftedly Bad: Thinks that he is very talented and great at what he does in the real world and is very delusional about it, but in reality, he is pretty mediocre and lives in his famous sister's shadow. It's clear that there is is only one talented Grande and their name isn't Frankie.

Jesus, biased much?

  • Hero Killer: Was responsible for Zach's, who is a fan favourite, eviction when he backdoored him.

YMMV

  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Frankie pressed the Big Brother Rewind twist button which not only undid his entire week as HOH, but ended up giving someone else power (Caleb for HOH and Cody for POV) and making him go from power to out the door.

This... really does not qualify.

  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Frankie constantly brags about himself and has said that he has always felt that he lived in Ariana's shadow. It could be assumed that Frankie seeks affirmation and compliments from others because he always felt inferior to his younger sister.

YMMV

  • Jerkass: Frankie was the BIGGEST jerk in the house and he was extremely unlikeable. It's no wonder why he was one of the last popular houseguests of the season as well as one of the most unpopular in Big Brother history.
  • Kick the Dog: Not only did Frankie frame Zach for stealing people's clothes and let him take the fall for being accused of being the Saboteur but he also planned on backdooring him. Frankie even said that he was going to euthanize Zach, stab him in the heart and bathe in his blood.

More YMMV

Removed last sentence.

  • Internalized Categorism: Frankie has made some very prejudiced remarks about homosexuality and homosexuals, especially about lesbians. This could be portrayed as internalized self hatred on behalf of Frankie.

Feeds and YMMV team up!

  • Magical Queer: Frankie is the sole gay houseguest of the season and he often uses his sexuality to make himself stand out and be treated differently in the house.

What?!

  • Noble Bigot: Frankie is somewhat of a homophobe, a racist and a sexist. He seems to have a disdain for lesbians, makes jokes about black and Hispanics, and seems to have a dislike for women in general. Yet, Frankie has shown that he is very loyal to his allies.

There's no way this made the show. I will actually eat my hat and apologize if it did. Not like I really want to watch this season though...

  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Has made many misogynistic and sexist comments. But then again, he's gay, and a lot of it comes from a skewed view of the sexes because he favors the company of men.

The gays are frequently misogynistic y'see.

Jeez!

  • Sissy Villain: Frankie outright calls himself the villain and says that he wants to be hated. Sure, Frankie.
  • Slave to PR: All Frankie seems to care about is upholding his reputation and his "popularity" (which is really his sister's popularity, considering that he rides Ariana's coattails for fame and popularity).

  • Too Dumb to Live: Frankie pressed the Big Brother Rewind button saying that "America wants him to press the button". What Frankie doesn't realize is by pressing the button, he just voided his HOH reign and rewound a week's worth of game where he will also be dethroned as HOH and his nominations will be null and void. There will also be no eviction as both nominees with be coming off the block. This move may be Frankie's undoing.

HOW IS THIS TOO DUMB TO LIVE???

  • Toxic Friend Influence: Oh boy, Frankie sure had a very horrible and toxic influence on everyone around him. And he most certainly wasn't the most trustworthy or dependable ally on the block.

How? And not being trustworthy or dependable isn't the trope.

Should we make this the Survivor and The Amazing Race cleanup too? Because I could DEFINITELY help with those. I noticed characters like Russell Hantz being called an "Asshole Victim" which wouldn't be misuse IF he was voted out but in seasons like Samoa and well... Heroes Vs Villains he wasn't voted out as he made it to the end, but got zero votes, so it's more like Laser-Guided Karma for him. However he's also listed as one on Survivor Redemption Island which I suppose would be proper use since he was voted out officially. Maybe we could ask the mods to make this the dedicated cleanup for reality shows as a whole particularly CBS ones.

I know we're not quite there yet, but is the aim to have the cast of one series on one page? I think the byte count for a TV tropes page is around 350,000-400,000.

[up][up][up] We have a separate reality TV cleanup for that. Let's keep this one for Big Brother alone.

Ok so not shockingly, the season with racism in the broadcast episodes has some iffy tropes.

Shockingly half of them are from the second boot.

Big Brother 15 ~ Racism edition

  • We Hardly Knew Ye: First houseguest eliminated and hardly got any screentime without Aaryn by him. However, he got to appear on TMZ when they did an expose on Aaryn's Innocent Bigot comments and David was there to comment on his disapproval and his unwillingness to put up with Aaryn in a relationship.

Removed the TMZ part.

And really? Innocent Bigot?

  • Ambiguously Bi: Much like Shane from the previous season. He tends to push away GinaMarie's advances while subtly flirting with Andy and David.

Isn't this Ambiguously Gay? Can't say I think pushing away Gina's advances is a big shock tho.

  • Ascended Extra: Crossing into Retroactive Recognition territory. Nick may not have had much chance to do wonders in the Big Brother house, but simply performing mad science experiments in guest spots as a chemist, Nick is very beloved. He managed to really give us a fine showing on America's Got Talent with an awesome nitrogen explosion onstage along with the classic trick popularized by Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame of demonstrating the effects of voice-lowering gas sulfur hexaflouride during Season 12 in 2017, and you might mistake him for just another contestant on the show due to his smattering run on Big Brother not sticking in memory. But ironically, Nick also got eliminated when he was passed over on judge cuts (neither strategic wits nor his real life skills got a win in a competition, poor guy!), yet he managed to go out on a funny note. He also appeared on The Today Show. You can also check him out on Nickipedia, his very own YouTube channel!
  • Attention Whore: (Sorry Nick!) He is one of the people of this season that will lengthen his 15 minutes of fame. One of his apex is that he created a tour (which is baffling and solid at the same time) that will begin after the finale of Big Brother (because one of his tour consists a date with GinaMarie, who made it to the jury).

Out of show info...

  • Embarrassing Last Name: Nick's last name is Uhas, which could easily be mistaken for Uhaul, which is the name of a moving company (ironic, considering that Nick created the alliance called The Moving Company).

That's really not- no

  • Hero of Another Story:
    • These days, Nick is more known for being a YouTube personality over his time on Big Brother, and most recently, for his epic performance on America's Got Talent. He was lucky in that he escaped the infamy of this season in that he went out so early and actually found much more fame by dazzling people with stuff like blowing up Howie Mandel! (Not really, Nick simply concocted a harmless dry ice vapor burst) Oh, and he also rollerbladed across the globe! Maybe he and Cameron Heard (microbiologist who biked cross-country) should get together sometime!
    • He is the host of Blown Away, a glass-making competiton. It can be seen on Netflix and the Canadian channel Makeful.
  • Keet: While in the house, he appeared to be rather icy, emotionless and stoic, because he was trying to hold back his personality and avoid giving people too much of a read on him. Outside of the house, however, Nick has been seen to be highly energetic, enthusiastic and even manic to some fans, especially in his interviews. He also tells fans in his "how to" guide for auditioning to be on Big Brother that you have to be yourself times ten in your audition, which he did. And on America's Got Talent, he was hamming it up like crazy.

Not part of the show....

  • Anything That Moves: Jeremy has said that if it were up to him, he would want to sleep with every single female houseguest in the house.

Trope is under repair and didn't mean that last I checked.

  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Often talks about himself and how awesome he is probably because deep down, Jeremy has a lot of issues and is actually insecure.

wah?

  • Broken Bird: Kaitlin completely fell apart after Jeremy was evicted, so much that she stopped socializing with Aaryn and GinaMarie and became distant towards

Towards whom?!

  • The Dragon: To Aaryn, the Big Bad. She was one of her right hand women along with GinaMarie and basically followed orders from her. Unfortunately for her, Kaitlyn's association with Aaryn made her an early target and she ended up being evicted early in the game.
    • Co-Dragons: With GinaMarie for Aaryn. They worked alongside each other basically following orders from Aaryn and doing everything that she wanted.
    • Dragon with an Agenda: Has thought about turning on Aaryn many times because she has expressed that her association and friendship with Aaryn has made her a target. And she ended up being correct since she was evicted in Week 4.
    • Noble Top Enforcer: Kaitlin is significantly nicer that Aaryn. She is even nicer than GinaMarie, her Co-Dragon. During her eviction interview with Julie Chen, she takes responsibility for her poor actions and decisions in the house due to being associated with Aaryn. She states that she's not proud of her behavior and actions and that if she could do it over again, she would steer clear of the negative influence that is Aaryn.
    • Villainous Friendship: Is good friends with Aaryn and was a close ally to her. but once she is evicted, she realizes that her friendship with Aaryn made her a target and that maybe Aaryn isn't the kind of friend that she would want to have in the real world.

I'll leave The Dragon.

  • Where Da White Woman At: Howard has admitted that in most instances, he is more drawn to white women.
  • Women Are Wiser: Subverted. Howard is male but he's one of the most sane and stable people in a house filled with crazy and emotionally unstable women such as Amanda, Aaryn, GinaMarie and even Candice, who was significantly more impulsive and irrational than Howard. Howard would always be the one to try and keep Candice out of the drama whenever she got involved.

Don't think I need to explain these.

Ok so....

Aaryn

She has a couple tropes talking about how much she's changed as a person outside the house, and as much as I like positivity, that just does not belong on these pages?

  • Arrogant Model Girl: One of the most overconfident and egotistical forces in the season, and proud to boast her success outside the house. Unfortunately, Aaryn was dropped from her modelling agencies.
    • Bleached Underpants: Aaryn has since reinvented herself and now has a new modelling career, under her married name Aaryn Williams. She has damned the memory of her old identity as a reality show contestant and profusely apologized for it. Her personality has grown to be much more tolerable and forgivable as a married mother of two and a successful model and fitness proponent.
  • I Hate Past Me: Aaryn as of now is quick to own up to her past self and a lot of self-loathing. Her time in college was spent around a lot of people who were very unpoliced due to getting out on their own for the first time and she was in a place where people don't really care about what they say or do, which resulted in a lot of ignorance. She also went through a severe bout of depression and changed dramatically after it.
    • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's more lovable now than she was in 2013. Mama Aaryn has a much better track record than BB Aaryn.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: As a result of her hideous behavior in the house, Aaryn blew apart her prospects in real life. Which meant she had to reset and beseech a new modeling agency to take her in. She succeeded, and promptly turned her life around
  • Nice Character, Mean Actor: If you follow her YouTube channel, Aaryn comes off as totally different from what you see in the game.
  • Tattoos As Character Type: She has an aquamarine butterfly tattoo behind her left ear on the back of her neck. As of now (definitely not back in 2013), it signifies her jovial and friendly nature.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: For all of you haters out there, time to put an end to it. Take a look at mama Aaryn now. This is nothing like the one you experienced. Particularly of note is a powerful video of how she deleted her Facebook because it made her cry to read all the bad news all the time, and ESPECIALLY this video of her stretch mark sorrow.
  • Vindicated by History: Her time as a mother and on Snapchat and YouTube is entirely different from what you see here. She knows she's an Internet sensation, but she changed the reasons why. If you go to her videos online, it's not only like night and day, it's like the Aaryn in them is from a parallel universe to the one in the game.

  • Mistaken for Racist: At least to Aaryn. She doesn't think that she is a racist. Although she makes a joke about her being a racist when she says that they removed all the black fish from her HOH fish tank because they think she is a racist.

Can we do BB17? There's lots of complaining about Austin and Liz/Julia and Vanessa on there from what I saw. Also Keet went under TRS and no longer means "Male Genki Girl".

Behold! An entire folder containing JUST complaining about Liz's character on her own folder. (and one or two other cuttable tropes)

     wow
  • Affably Evil: Appears sweet and nice to everyone's face, but is one of the meanest in the house and talks the most trash about other houseguests behind their backs. Liz is definitely a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing. She seems like she would be a sweet blonde girl that would be very approachable and friendly but she has no problem with resorting to talking badly about other people with no remorse. Some of her comments have been very petty and mean and have had nothing at all to do with the game. For example, she seems like she is nice to Austin to his face, but she has personally attacked him and bad mouthed him behind his back. She also says that she likes Austin to his face but will say that he disgusts her behind his back. Liz is very good at appearing nice and cordial to others and she had a very strong social game to the point where nobody really actively targeted her or her sister Julia. However, if people found out about the catty side of Liz, she would have been targeted or nominated numerous times in the game.
  • Alpha Bitch: Liz is definitely the one true mean girl of the season. Catty? Bitchy? Competitive? Mean spirited? Gossipy? Spoiled? Entitled? Check mark on all of 'em. Out of all the female houseguests, she definitely talks the most trash about all of the other houseguests behind their backs. No houseguest has ever not be bad mouthed by Liz at some point. She also seems to think she is the queen of the entire house and that she is invincible in the game. She's displayed classic mean girl behavior in how she labels people on the house, such as calling James a "sexist bully", calling Meg "a crybaby bitch", openly saying that she hates Jackie (probably out of pettiness, competitiveness, and jealousy), and referring to John and Steve as the "geeks" and the "socially awkward nerds". She has even resorted to trash talking Austin, her own showmance partner calling him selfish and calling him an "ugly person on the inside and out". Julia could be seen as her Beta Bitch since she is only slightly nicer than her sister and engages in the trash talk often. Falls into both the Type 1 and Type 2 category: shows that she is a not so smart Dumb Blonde that can be openly catty, vile and mean spirited with her constant trash talking, but that she can also be highly manipulative and clever, by being a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing and putting on a sweet friendly facade.
  • Arch-Enemy:
    • James. Liz has frequently said how much she dislikes James because she proclaims that he is a bully and has said mean and nasty things about her and her sister. She’s also called James a bully, even though James has never resorted to threatening or intimidating behaviour towards her. Liz’s hatred of James comes off as completely unwarranted and unnecessary and it is more of an Irrational Hatred. Liz is even directly responsible for James’ eviction, being the Head of Household that got him out during Double Eviction.
    • John. She has talked badly about John for almost the entire game. Her dislike towards John is very odd, considering that John has barely talked to or interacted with Liz in the game. Liz has gone out of her way to call John very awkward and labelling him as a nerd.
    • Jackie. Liz’s dislike of Jackie is assumed to be nothing more than petty jealousy and cattiness. It’s possible that Liz had disdain for Jackie because Austin originally liked Jackie before he liked Liz. Which really does not make sense, because Liz did not even like Austin in that way in the beginning. Or it could be because Liz is jealous of Jackie’s attractiveness and sex appeal.
  • Attention Whore: Does not seem to care that she is having an inappropriate sexual relationship with Austin on national television and is okay with doing it simply for attention or so she can get some screen time. Especially with someone who is cheating on his girlfriend at home with her. Liz seems to thrive on receiving attention and when she doesn't, she will resort to throwing a temper tantrum, pouting or talking trash about people. Liz even said that she doesn't really care about the game or winning, that she wanted fame and getting TV time from the experience.
  • (snipped keepable part) Although Austin and Liz did find each other attractive for whatever reason, their relationship was downright cringeworthy and it made little to no sense.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Subverted Trope. Liz lost to Steve in the Final 2 by a 6-3 vote. Although Liz played a reasonably solid game on her own merit, her argument to the jury as to why she would win the game over Steve was much weaker and less convincing than Steve's argument on why he should win. It doesn't help that Liz had basically missed quite a bit of time in the house and the game because she was switching in and out of the house with Julia for the first five weeks of the game. To add, Liz was not well liked or well perceived by the majority of the jury as well. Shelli voted for Steve over Liz because she liked Steve more than Liz on a personal level. Jackie voted for Steve over Liz because Liz has always trash talked Jackie behind her back and had a jealousy and rivalry with her since early in the game. Becky voted for Steve over Liz because Liz was the one who nominated her and was responsible for her eviction, plus, Becky always liked Steve and thought he played a very good game (even though Steve had an Irrational Hatred and one sided rivalry with Becky). Meg voted for Steve over Liz because she never had any kind of relationship with Liz while in the house and Liz was on the enemy side or opposing side of her alliance. James voted for Steve over Liz for two major reasons: he had a bond and a good relationship with Steve since the beginning and Liz was the one responsible for evicting him during Double Eviction. Anf finally, John voted for Steve over Liz because John had a very strong relationship with Steve since the beginning and they also had an alliance together called "The Rockstars". The only people that voted for Liz in the jury are Julia (because that is her sister and she wants her to win), Austin (because that is his girlfriend) and Vanessa (because she was a combination of bitter due to Steve evicting her at Final 3, Liz was Vanessa's ally since the beginning and she wanted a woman to win the game).
  • Badass Boast: Liz seems to have a habit of making many threats, such as the fact that if she is ever betrayed in any way (by either being nominated or evicted), she will then threaten people’s jury votes (saying that she and two other people in Austin and Julia, will not vote for someone if they betray her). Liz has also said that she would not vote for Steve if he made it to Final 2 and she was on the jury because he had nominated her and Austin and had betrayed and blindsided them. Liz seems to believe that she has that much pull or control over other people's votes, even though she has been nothing more than a Vanessa minion all season. Her threatening others in the house did not seem to work in her favour when she made it to the end, because she lost by a 6-3 jury vote against Steve.
  • Bait the Dog: Appears to be a sweet blonde girl, but is actually really bitchy, catty and a definite mean girl to boot. It was originally thought that Liz would be a popular and well liked female player like Janelle Pierzina (from Big Brother 6) or Britney Haynes (from Big Brother 12), but it turns out that she is an Alpha Bitch (with Vanessa being the ultimate Alpha Bitch) and she is the biggest trash talker by far. Would anyone seriously think that a pretty, attractive and sweet looking blonde girl like Liz would be the meanest girl in the house? Appearances can sure be deceiving.
  • Beauty Is Bad: She’s a pretty girl but she has such an ugly or unattractive personality.
  • Beta Bitch: Although Julia normally serves as Liz's Beta Bitch to Liz's Alpha Bitch (since they are very mean spirited and love to engage in the majority of the trash talking of other houseguests), Liz could be seen as the overall Beta Bitch to Vanessa's Alpha Bitch. Vanessa is the most dangerous player in the game and Liz pretty much does what Vanessa expects of her. Vanessa is the obvious leader of the "Sixth Sense" alliance and she controls everything that goes on. Liz sees Vanessa as her master and she often follows what she does. Liz is there along with Vanessa to plan out game moves or game plans. In many ways, Vanessa and Liz's relationship was similar to one of a master (Vanessa) and servant (Liz).
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: In a conversation between the twins in Episode 19 (Week 6), Julia notes that Liz is the bitchier of the two.
  • Blonde Republican Sex Kitten: Openly admitted that she is Republican and has rather Conservative beliefs and views.
  • Brainless Beauty: She’s physically attractive but she has proven and shown to be a rather stupid individual. She may have gone to university but in terms of common sense, she is The Ditz and a Dumb Blonde in many ways.
  • Brutal Honesty: Says exactly what she thinks and feels without any hesitation. She talks the most trash about every single houseguest in the house behind their backs. Liz is a 100% mean girl and Alpha Bitch who is cuttingly sarcastic. She even treats Austin like crap and says mean things about him.
  • The Bully: The way she treats and talks about John and Steve behind their backs comes off as incredibly hateful and mean spirited. Her reasons for trashing them are completely unnecessary since both John and Steve have never done anything to her personally. Part of being the resident Alpha Bitch of the house, although Vanessa probably takes the title over anyone else.
  • The Cutie: Subverted Trope. At first, Liz seemed like a sweet, cute and nice girl. But she’s the meanest and cattiest girl of the bunch this season.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She is a mega Alpha Bitch but around her sister, she has her moments of vulnerability.
  • Demoted to Dragon: One would automatically think that Liz, along with Austin, are the true villains of the season, because of their unlikeable personalities and their mean spirited ways. However, when one really takes a look at the grand scheme of things in the game, Liz was merely a puppet in Vanessa's game. Vanessa is the one who is controlling everything in the house and Liz is one of Vanessa's many loyal minions who is willing to do all of Vanessa's bidding. Despite Liz and Austin being The Heavy (the main villain of the season), they are nowhere near as influential or as dangerous as Vanessa.
  • Destructive Romance: With Austin, of course. It’s obvious that Liz’s relationship with Austin is intensely problematic with Austin being very obsessed with Liz on unhealthy levels. For the most part, Liz did not feel any romantic connection or attraction towards Austin and had even found him loathesome and repulsive. Later on, Liz does end up admitting that she likes him ....but it’s still uncertain as to whether or not Liz is just using him or manipulating him for strategic or game reasons. To make this realtionship sound even more dysfunctional, Liz’s sister Julia despises Austin, does not like him and does not approve of Liz’s relationship with him. To add to that, Austin also has/had a girlfriend back home while he was infatuated with Liz, so technically speaking, Austin is cheating on his girlfriend back home with Liz on the show, considering that Austin did not officially break up with his at home girlfriend before going on the show.
  • Devour the Dragon: Vanessa has been plotting the demise of Liz (and Julia) for weeks. And now it seems that as of Week 11, Liz’s time might finally be up in the game. Unfortunately for Vanessa, her plan to get rid of Julia and Austin worked, but it did not work when it came to Liz, because Liz lasted longer than Vanessa in the end, because Steve chose to take Liz to the Final 2 over Vanessa.
  • The Ditz: Doesn’t seem to have that much in terms of smarts and intelligence. She is a Dumb Blonde who comes off as flighty and has displayed profound dumbness. In fact, she comes off as rather clueless and dumb when it comes to game instincts or reads on the house.
  • Ditzy Genius: Liz is good competitively but she is terrible or mediocre when it comes to strategy. She depends on Austin and Vanessa when it comes to strategy since she is rather clueless about the game and the house dynamics overall.
  • Drama Queen: Liz has an Entitled Bitch attitude and when things don’t go the way she wants them to, she will lash out and blow things out of proportion.
  • Entitled Bitch: Has a temper tantrum when Steve puts her up and claims she was nothing but nice to Steve, when she's really been talking about him (and John) behind their backs.
  • Everyone Loves Blondes: In-Universe, Liz seems to be generally liked by everyone. However, this is a Subverted Trope outside of the house. She is one of the most disliked houseguests of the season, up there with Vanessa and Austin.
  • Evil Is Petty: Liz is very petty and catty. She constantly personalyl attacks the other houseguests and has said some horrible comments about them behind their backs. She has said something bad or negative about every single houseguest. Instead of commenting how a houseguest is a potential threat to her game, she decides to comment about their personality and their physical appearance instead. For example, in her goodbye message to Jason, she told Jason to have fun watching the rest of the season from his parents basement, knowing that Jason is financially struggling and has to live at home with his parents (which makes her a bit of a hypocrite, because she also apparently still lives with her parents). She has made nasty comments about John for no reason. She has said that it is very easy to make fun of him and called him a socially awkward nerd who may have a personality disorder. She called him a fake person because she says that he seems like he puts on a character in the DR room (she has heard him yelling in the DR) and is completely quiet while he is in the house. She has also made fun of the way John speaks, saying that he sounds like he is incoherent even though he is supposed to be a dentist. She has also trash talked Steve and called him socially awkward, saying that he creeps her out. Liz has bashed James and called him all sorts of name like sexist and a bully. She has made hateful comments about Jackie and her physical appearance, although it is under the assumption that she makes those comments about Jackie out of jealousy. She has also talked crap about Austin behind his back, saying that she thinks that he is an ugly person both on the inside and out and that he only cares about fame and popularity (pot meet kettle!). Liz, along with Julia, is probably the biggest trash talker in the house and she comes across as super bitter and petty when she doesn't get her way. Her easy solution for not getting her way is to bad mouth people, even if they have done nothing to her or not.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Started out as what seemed to be a Nice Girl, but it was just a case of Bait the Dog and she turned out to be one of the meanest and nastiest houseguests of the season. Liz is the resident Alpha Bitch and mean girl of the season (although the mega or ultimate Alpha Bitch of the season is actually Vanessa). Appearances can sure be deceiving.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Definitely a jealous type of girl. Hence why she is so catty. She was clearly jealous of Jackie; that is why she always trashtalked her behind her back.
  • Number Two for Brains: Liz is The Ditz and doesn’t have much in the way of game instincts. Her read on the house is generally way off. She needs Austin and Vanessa to help her in that department. Even Julia has the slight edge over Liz in the strategy or game instincts area. The only thing that Liz has going for her in the game is her ability to win competitions when it is absolutely crucial for her to do so. Even Steve makes a point of this in his Final 2 speech to the Jury.
  • Relationship Upgrade: May also undergo one with Steve after he handed her $50,000 for bringing her to the finals over Vanessa, which shocked her and made her cry with joy.

Relationship Upgrade I'm pretty sure is solely for romantic relationships and I'm pretty sure Steve had/has no interest in Liz as a potential love interest, I could be wrong, but DAMN that is brutal. I remember adding a moment a long time ago about Liz and Julia not knowing who Sigmund Freud is instead calling "them" Sigmund and Freud and describing them as "those two magician guys that got bit by their tiger" mixing the famous psychologist up with SIEGFRIED and ROY. And honestly Liz isn't that dumb aside from that moment of her and Julia not knowing who Sigmund Freud is, she just appears dumb compared to the likes of Vanessa who ran the whole game and Steve who dethroned her. I'm sure Vanessa's page in the jury segment is nothing to sneeze at either, given how hated Vanessa was.

Yeah pretty much why I removed it, made no sense.

And LOL YEAH I left that Tiger thing because it had a decent example.

Alright Vanessa needs a cleanup so here goes...
  • Bad Boss: Vanessa was seen to treat her allies very poorly. Even though she has so many people willing to do all of her diary work for her and are willing to be loyal to her, despite her intolerable personality, she doesn't seem to understand that the game of Big Brother is a social game. In order to win in the end, one needs a strong social game where the fellow houseguest are treated with kindness. Vanessa not only treated her enemies horribly, but she would be pretty awful to her close allies, such as Austin and Steve for example. Austin was very loyal to her since the beginning, but Vanessa would often intimidate Austin and try to humiliate him simply because she enjoyed watching him be uncomfortable. And she didn't always treat Steve very nicely either. When Steve was nominated alongside John, Vanessa went out of her way to call him out and start an argument with him about him starting an four or five person alliance with John to try to get Vanessa out of the house. She had no problem making Steve panic in front of the house, showing that she is little to no regard for her allies feelings.
  • Dirty Coward: Repeatedly stated how much she hated when people lied to her and betrayed her to get farther in the game. Yet, she had consistently said that she was willing to backstab and betray people to get father in the game herself. She had made so many Final 2 deals throughout the game with numerous people (she had Final 2 deals with Steve, Julia, Austin, Liz, John, etc) and had thrown ‘’all of them’’ under the bus to each other at one point. Therefore, it only made Vanessa come off as disloyal, backstabbing and shady. An example of this is her making a Final 2 deal with Austin and making promises that she will want to get to the end with him, yet she does him extremely dirty by nominating him and then blindsiding him unnecessarily. Vanessa also made a Final 2 deal with Julia, promising that she will take her to the end, yet she ends up voting her out. Vanessa said that she wanted to go to the end with John; therefore, she made a Final 2 deal with him. However, she had no intentions of upholding the deal she made with John and had no problems with voting him out at Final 4. Vanessa was even going to throw Steve to the wolves without any regret and had planned on backstabbing him at Final 3 shall she win the final HOH. And Steve is somebody whom she had loyalty for the majority of the game! It is clear Vanessa had no problem with being a dirty player and throwing people, including her own allies, under the bus. When she does end up backstabbing people, she will blame someone else for her actions, cry and then play the victim card. Vanessa may have been a strong player but she was also a big time coward as she never owned up to her lies, her manipulation, her intimidation, her bullying tactics and her deceptive behaviour. She would even lie about her game and her intentions during her DR sessions. All in all, Vanessa is the epitome of a scumbag player.
  • Entitled Bitch: Vanessa would lash out when things didn't go as she planned. Vanessa says that she absolutely hates liars and backstabbers, yet she was the biggest backstabber and liar in the house. She had thrown everyone under the bus at one point or another. But she apparently had a major problem or issue with anyone that did it to her. She had shown an entitled attitude regarding the houseguests, even saying that anyone that betrayed her would not have her loyalty or her vote at the end. Vanessa showed this bitter and entitled attitude on finale night after Steve evicted her at Final 3. Because Steve evicted her, Vanessa ended up voting for Liz over Steve, even though it was clear that Steve played a better game than Liz all season and that what Steve did by evicting Vanessa was a good game move. The funny thing is that Vanessa said that if the roles were reversed and she had won Final 3 HOH, she would have planned on cutting Steve as well.
  • Hysterical Woman: Vanessa is genuinely insane and crazy. She has constant emotional breakdowns and she goes through Freak Out nearly on a daily basis. She is constantly seen to be crying or breaking down even at the smallest things. She can't seem to keep a control over her emotions and she displays constant erratic behavior.
  • Jerkass: Vanessa has such a majorly unpleasant personality. She is very much an Alpha Bitch who likes to control everyone. She constantly bullies people and starts fights with others. Vanessa is also an Attention Whore and a Drama Queen who likes to make up lies about other houseguests and then pretend that they are turning against her so that she can place targets on them. She is incredibly confrontational and is always getting into arguments with others. Vanessa is also highly bitchy and catty and doesn't appear to get along with the other women in the house.

This is all just complaining about her, and with text walls to boot. (I also removed little snippets of tropes complaining about her here and there)

  • Drama Queen: Vanessa has cried so much in the house that she seriously rivals Amber Sivayus (from Big Brother 8), GinaMarie Zimmerman (from Big Brother 15) and Helen Kim (from Big Brother 15) for the title of “Houseguest Who Has Cried The Most In Big Brother History”. Drama queen is basically Vanessa’s first, middle and last name.

Removing this part.

  • Fatal Flaw: Vanessa has two notable ones, both leading to Steve eliminating her in the Final 3.
    • Whenever Vanessa found a target, she would blow up at them and instigate a fight before they would eventually be eliminated. In week 9 she did this to Steve, only to change her mind at the last minute and get everyone to flip the vote onto Johnny Mac. She expected Steve to be grateful to this. Steve saw it as a sign to eliminate her before the Final 2.
    • Despite being the leader of her Alliance between herself, Austin, and the twins, Vanessa also finds herself the most expendable of the four when it comes to loyalty. Because she frequently instigated fights with other house guests, she found herself lacking any other allies outside of Steve, who frequently lied to her, and Johnny Mac, who she could not get a read on what his motives were. Vanessa ultimately chooses Steve as her final ally over Johnny Mac, which leads to her own elimination.

So this is weird because they're really not flaws?

  • Hoist by Her Own Petard:
    • Vanessa allowed Clay and Shelli to convince her to go against the Week 5 plan of evicting Austin following his conversation with Jason about the twins, which Jason quickly spread around the house, infuriating Julia, one of the twins. Instead of putting Austin as a replacement nominee when Clay planned to use the Veto as agreed with the House, Clay and Shelli listened to Austin's pleas, and got Vanessa to backdoor Jason instead. This not only exposed the Sixth Sense, but got both Clay and Shelli nominated the next week when James, one of the three houseguests in the alliance opposing Sixth Sense (which included Jason before his eviction), won HoH with no BoB twistnote , which lead to Clay's eviction when James also won the Veto. Vanessa then had to face the block with Shelli when her alliance couldn't regain the HoH.
    • One of the most recent classic examples of the trope: She had her hands over the eviction of every single jury member, and when she ended up becoming the final jury member when she failed the last question in the finale HoH gamenote , it was now possible for those jury members to throw their support behind the sole survivor of the houseguests not in The Sixth Sense in the game's first half, leading to Steve winning over her Sixth Sense comrade, Liz (who still finished second, won $50,000, and was crying when Steve spared her.)

I'm not seeing the hoisting...

Overall not too bad

Johnny Mac is also the recipient of a lot of favoritism so he's on my list.
