Mostly a parody/spinoff of Sam & Max and also a continuity reboot of the Sonic the Hedgehog series made by Julayla, Nack and Psycho (Fang and Psycho 牙及びサイコ in Japanese) is a fanfic series where bounty hunter Nack the Weasel/Fang the Sniper and his insane and crazy Toon partner Psycho tackle down against bad guys and crazy happenings with orders given by their commissioner.
Also includes a few spinoffs set in the same continuity.
Most of the time, the series runs on Rule of Cool, Rule of Funny, and Rule of Fun throughout the series. As the series continues, however, the series starts to show more lore within the series.

Tropes:
- Abhorrent Admirer: Nack and Psycho get this from not only Elmyra, but also The Amoeba Boys and Control Freak.
- Fiona Fox has one in the form of Don Weaso.
- Rasticore gets one in the form of Riptor until the adaptation of Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July where he tells her off and states his hate for her, leaving Riptor broken before she briefly tries to take revenge.
- Accidental Misnaming: The Harvey demon that's given the name Nousagi becomes very hard to remember to everyone so much, he's given accidental nicknames like "Nelvana", "Natsumi" or "Nobody", much to his frustration.
- Adaptational Angst Upgrade: While retaining his personality from his canon version, Rasticore becomes a little more grumpy and cynical when he lost his arm and eye.
- Adaptational Heroism:
- Nack and Psycho (as of some of their friends) were villains in their own respective continuities. Here, they are total heroes.
- Batula, in the game he comes from, plotted to kill his descendant Conker before transforming him to a bat in order to feed on helpless villagers. Here, Batula (though he still does those things in the adaptation version) has a more noble side and is one of the allies of the Freelance Bounty Hunters and Sonic Heroes.
- Adaptational Intelligence: In the game series he was from, Chzo was implied to be nothing but an idiot god with nothing but pain to satisfy. In this fanfic series, Chzo is shown to be capable of speaking telepathically and torture for sick pleasure. It helps that he is the reincarnation of Bill Cipher who managed to speak an incantation that revives him in this series after being erased by the Pine Twins.
- Adaptational Villainy: In the Edna games, Dr. Marcel only wanted to eradicate childness out of patients (though his experimenting on his son Alfred leads to some questioning). Here, while still the same as he was, not only does he plot to kill off all Imaginary Friends who exist physically like the ones from Foster's, but also was responsible for killing Edna's mother.
- Adaptation Origin Connection: In this series, both Treasure Island and the Freddy Fazbear Franchise have a huge strong connection with Chzo and those that follow.
- Adaptation Expansion: Some of the stories, particularly the version of The Legends of Treasure Island, tries to fill in some of the gaps and Plot Holes that are left while expanding the character developments of certain characters (like, for example, both Long John Silver and Pew).
- Adaptation Personality Change: Though it's more of Adaptation Character Development, a few characters are shown to have these, but one of the most notable ones shown to have these as the stories progress are Nack, Count Batula, Mr. Bump, Don in a way, Harvey, the Harvey demons, somewhat Toffee, and Pew.
- Affectionate Nickname: Batula is given the nickname, "Bat Squirrel", which he tolerates and accepts.
- Alternate Continuity:
- Of mainly the Sonic series with other shows and films.
- Starting from its appearance in Season 2's "The Galaxy Cauldron", Star vs. the Forces of Evil has its own alternate continuity as well.
- Alternate Universe Fic: The series itself takes place in a alternate universe where there is some Loose Canon on the Sonic lore with some Animesque and serialization thrown in.
- Arc Villain: During the adaptions of the Chzo Mythos and Five Nights at Freddy's series leading in to Season 4 of the series, it becomes clear that the arc villain is Chzo. And during the 3rd Freddy's game adaption, gains a new form in the form of Bill Cipher.
- Ascended Extra: Compared to the show he resides in, Rasticore has a bit more involvement without being blown up.
- Big Bad: Consisting of not just Dr. Eggman, but also villains like Chairface Chipendale, Maleficent, Ultra-Humanite and even the Dark Legion. The most reoccurring villains are that of Dr. Eggman and The Order of Ixis led by Mammoth Mogul, Lyric, and Toffee. As of Season 4, the major villain Bill Cipher has become the Season 4 arc villain!
- The Chew Toy: This has occasionally happened to either Dingo or Don Weaso sometimes.
- City of Adventure: The bounty hunters' home of New York City is filled with much adventure as does the world around them.
- The Commissioner Gordon: Gordon himself appears and is this. It's subverted however as it's not the real Gordon since he's been dead for years. The one posing as Gordon is Discord who actually serves as this. He stops posing as Gordon near the Season 3 finale arc, though Discord does actually end up being an ally to the bounty hunters.
- Composite Character:
- The Legends version of Long John Silver, while retaining some of his original personality from the series he's from, also has his personalities from both Muppet Treasure Island and Treasure Planet, which are key elements on his growing friendship on Swiper that eventually leads him to both a Heel Realization and Heroic Sacrifice to save Swiper's soul.
- Star Butterfly, while also retaining her original personality, also has the personalities of Taran and Cavin.
- While retaining his game incarnation with personality, Dr. Eggman also has bits of his western animated counterparts.
- Continuity Reboot/Fix Fic: Of both the Sonic franchise, which combines to a somewhat Ultimate Universe series and later on, once properly introduced in Season 2, Star vs. the Forces of Evil.
- The Corruption: In the adaptation of Legends, the Amplifier Artifact that Pew and his Order members searched for is heavily implied to have some sort of dark corruption to anyone who wields it!
- Crack Pairing: In-Universe and Played for Laughs in a mocking manner toward Ridley being associated with Samus (as mostly an insult) with Ridley obviously not taking it well.
- A Day in the Limelight: The spinoffs and a few main fics consist of these.
- Daywalking Vampire: Count Batula is shown to be this in this continuity, but he wears a medallion that protects him from sunlight while keeping his usual powers.
- Dark Is Not Evil: A common running theme through some of the villains and antis throughout the series.
- Death by Adaptation:
- Both King River Butterfly and Gloassaryck are both dead by the time we meet Star in this series.
- In The St. Olga's Syndrome, Ponyhead is dead after her implied brainwashing causes her to be too perfect.
- Deceased Parents Are the Best: Nack and Nic's parents are dead before the start of the series, but both are fondly remembered by them and the grandparents.
- Designated Hero: In-Universe, Valchir and some of the officers don't think highly of the bounty hunters because they believe that the heroes let some villains like Eggman, who don't do anything during their off time, be seen in public and be among the crowd at times.
- The Dog Was the Mastermind: In the adaptation of Zootopia, Bellwether was still responsible for the conspiracy in making prey turn against predator. However, for this version, and a few other fics later on connected to it, it's subverted when it's revealed that it was Linnux (alongside Dr. Eggman) who was the true mastermind behind the conspiracy as a plot to kill all the prey with the Night Howler infected predators for a predator buffet (with an added bonus of turning the Night Howler infected predators into Eggman's robotic slaves).
- Emergency Transformation:
- In the Nack and Psycho version of LOTI's Dragon, the baby dragon Sarah, Psycho's girlfriend, wanted is absorbed into ink and was in danger of drowning. Having no other choice, she does an emergency blood transfusion as it's fully consumed by the ink, which prompts it to be reborn as a Toon dragon, one who she dubs as Grim Matchstick who would later play a role in the series.
- In the Bendy adaptation, it's revealed that both Oscar and Dr. Sorkin from the Jurassic Park game adaptation had gone through this with both having reptilian DNA into their blood systems, being reborn as Alex and Riptor respectively, much to the Freelancers' shock.
- Escaped from Hell: In one story, the bounty hunters break Hell to help free their loved ones. However, it turns out that it caused many escaped souls who were suppose to stay dead to escape, including Pew.
- Happily Adopted:
- In one story, it's revealed that because Von Kriplespac lost his father in the ARK, he was taken in and raised by Werner Werman, who he accepts as a loving father to him.
- Sticks in this continuity is raised by both Ben Gunn and his sister Benjamina (both past and later present), both who she adores as her adopted uncle and aunt respectively.
- He's Not My Boyfriend: Despite the two working together, some of the cast make remarks about both Eggman and Sedusa being together, much to the latter's annoyance.
- Hybrid Monster: A monster girl who is a hybrid of both dragon and Septarian named Kandy, who turns out to be the hybrid daughter of her father, Seth of Septarsis, is found and later rescued in The St. Olga's Syndrome during a mission to rescue a kidnapped Mimi being forced there. She, later on in the series, joins the Freelancers to assist in finding the Nega Emeralds.
- Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: Most of the bad guys that the Freelance Bounty Hunters encounter, while these baddies still fight them, usually have a bit of sympathy (ex. Dr. Eggman).
- In Spite of a Nail: Though he doesn't lose his finger to Moon, Toffee still loses a finger, though in this series, it's to Phage.
- Knight of Cerebus:
- Chzo has little to no humor whenever he makes an appearance. It's subverted and averted once the ritual in the adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy's 3 transforms him to his true self: Bill Cipher, who is every bit as humorous as he was in his canon series.
- Solego and Evil!Alice both play this straight in the Bendy adaptation due to the former being the manipulator to Mordred and the latter on her sinister motives and what she does to Boris.
- As of the series he came from, The Lich has little to no humor when he makes his appearance to steal people and the crests before fighting the Freelancers.
- Living Lie Detector: Both Justitia (since his revival in Season 4) and his Camelot counterpart both know when someone is lying, much to some's frustrations.
- Lions and Tigers and Humans... Oh, My!: Like in Sonic the Hedgehog, this series' version of Earth consists of Funny Animals, Toons, and even humans co-existing in the present day.
- Magic Versus Science: This is the conflict that arises in the Mewni Arc, which eventually gets resolved when defeating the Camelot version of Dark Gaia causes a timeline reset that brings the Camelot/Mewni world merged with not only the Arabian Nights world, but also bring both magic and science on equal terms.
- Malicious Misnaming: Scourge and his gang purposely misname Pew's name on purpose, even going so far as to call him "Rackstraw".
- Mercy Kill:
- Pew's 1770s death in this continuity's adaptation of the show he came from ends up as this as it was heavily implied that the Amplifier Artifact was corrupting him so badly, that he had to be killed by not just Jane, but Nack and Batula's assistance as well!
- The reveal in one story on what happened to Queen Comet in the past is that Mewberty had struck her and she was losing herself. So much, she begs Toffee to kill her before losing herself and never tell Moon about it once he does. This leads to Moon believing he did it out of spite.
- Morality Pet: Toffee begins to slowly open up a bit more thanks to Grim Matchstick, hinting that his Character Development is because of him starting to bond with the Toon dragon.
- My God, What Have I Done?:
- In the adaptation of Legends twenty-fifth episode, Pew realizes that him trying to act like his old self in order to keep his friends away or have Lyric deal with them had Nack briefly getting killed, making him realize in horror what he was doing and apologizes when the crests he confiscated temporarily bring him back to life.
- In the final episode of Legends, Wave finally realizes that her thoughtlessness and not letting Betemesis speak about how she truly felt which led her to joining the Order eventually has her lose Pew who she truly loved and had her memories erased afterwards.
- In the adaptation of the Bendy Arc, Rasticore finally realizes that his anger issues and his distrust on Mordred (alongside blaming him for Mordred changing the past that caused The Great Septarian Purge) caused his adopted brother to (temporarily) lose his sanity, thanks to Solego, making him realize that he should be nicer to him.
- Poor Communication Kills: During the Legends Arc, Wave tries to get Betemesis to understand that Pew isn't meant to be understood while not hearing her side of the story. This leads to Betemesis leaving, then joining the Order Of Ixis, and after time traveling back to the past, eventually getting her memories erased after seeing Past!Pew die. Jet and Storm even lampshades how the whole mess could have been avoided had Wave just let Betemesis tell her side and actually listen instead of cut her off.
- Raised by Grandparents: Nack and Nic were shown that after they were both born shortly, their parents were killed in an accident a week or two later, prompting them to be raised by their own grandparents since.
- Really 700 Years Old:
- The Order of Ixis and the Serpentine (as of Toffee and Rasticore thanks to certain events), despite staying young for the most part, are true immortals.
- Due to him being a vampire, Batula himself is over 300 years old, despite him being physically in his 40s to 50s.
- Pew, while immortal, has a case of both Younger Than They Look (with his physical age being 34 for the most part and people mistaking him for physically old) and Older Than They Look due to being immortal for hundreds of years.
- Since The Last Alicorn, Betemesis gains immortality as well.
- Recursive Canon: A few times, this happens to some of the cast members. (Ex. Sonic and Mario's games exist alongside the characters seen within the series).
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: In the adaptation of Jurassic Park: The Game, Mordred gives Dr. Sorkins a brutal one before he purposely tries to off her due to Dr. Sorkins' stupidity that happened game wise.
- Related in the Adaptation:
- In this series, Nack and his sister Nic are both the biological grandchildren of the cyborg weasel, Professor Von Kriplespac as well as the cousins of mobster and head of the Freelance Bounty Hunters, Don Weaso.
- In the adaptation of Legends, it turns out in one of the episodes that Fiona Fox's ancestor is actually past Long John Silver himself.
- Sleet is revealed to be related to the Wolf Boss (who is Wolfgar), Wanda (by his mother's side) and his Evil Uncle, Linnux, much to his annoyance on the latter.
- In this series, Mordred's father is the villainous Solego who is one of the Big Bads of the Bendy Adaptations.
- Rogues Gallery: This series has many villains this series deals with.
- Sneeze of Doom:
- Because of his rebirth while having a cold, Grim Matchstick sometimes sneezes huge flames unintentionally which sometimes causes problems, atkin to the likes of the dragon from Knighty Knight Bugs.
- One story explains that because of Mordred angrily trying to attack Rasticore with a pepper shaker during another heated argument while traveling in time to fix history, a young Moon gets hit with the pepper, causing her to sneeze the darkest spell and not only unintentionally taking out Rasticore's eye with arm instead of Toffee's finger, but also caused The Great Septarian Purge with Toffee and Rasticore being sent into Earth's past after one final huge sneeze. Rasticore, upon learning Mordred was the cause, does not take it well.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Though in the actual version of Jurassic Park: The Game has Dr. Sorkins and Oscar killed, both are spared within this series. However, this is due to both having an Emergency Transformation.
- Toons: Some of the major reoccurring and main cast members, mainly Psycho and Sarah, are Toons alongside some fourth wall breaking from the Toons themselves.
- Toon Physics: This applies to the Toons in this series, though ever since the beginning of the series, some of the non-Toon Freelancers and Sonic Heroes, thanks to a medallion Shirley the Loon found and gave them, have these partially.
- Toon Town: Because of the events of this series' version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the Toon World's gateway is linked somewhere within New York City in the present with the main town being ACME Acres.
- Twice-Told Tale: The premise of the adaptation versions of some of the adventures the Freelancers get themselves into.
- Universal-Adaptor Cast: In-Universe for the world of Camelot/Arabian Nights/Mewni as some of the world's inhabitants, particularly the real King Arthur & Aladdin being Sonic's counterparts and Shovel Knight being Nack's counterpart, are the Counterparts of the Freelancers and friends.
- Villainous Crush:
- Though he denies it at first until later on in the Legends adaptation, Lyric's crush on Betemesis becomes more and more noticeable with him even fighting Pew to take her for his own.
- Subverted with the Sheriff of Nottingham in both the real world (he later gets over her when he finds another love) and his Camelot counterpart as he's not evil, but has a major crush on Sarah who'd rather just be friends with him, much to Psycho's anger. Played straight, however, with Sleet's Evil Uncle, Linnux who, despite Sarah married to Psycho, wants her as his own bride.
- What If?: What if Moon, instead of striking Toffee's finger off, struck Rasticore's arm and eye off and caused The Great Septarian Purge unintentionally?
- Year X: The setting of the present day takes place in 20XX for the series.
