     Izuku Midoriya

Izuku Midoriya

Quirk: Pyromaster

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deku_0.jpg
Click here to see his burn scars
Art by Rogelis

The main hero of this tale. A young boy who got scarred in an unfortunate accident that was involved in the awakening of his Quirk. Despite the trauma he has faced, Izuku still strives to be a Hero all the same.

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: The burns he suffered from an accident in his Quirk awakening made his life much harder than in canon. Thankfully, things get better for him.
  • Adaptational Badass/Handicapped Badass: On the one hand, he has a powerful Fire Quirk. On the other? It awoke too early and scarred him.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: While already smart in canon and praised for his analysis by all who see them, Izuku was seen as nothing too great. Here, his analysis notes ALONE get him a scholarship at UA, and if how his classmates' reaction is any indication, he's noticed things they never thought of.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: By a boatload; He's adoptive siblings with Himiko Toga (one of his enemies in canon), his canon love interest Ochacko is more familiar with Himiko than him, he never met All-Might and actually knows/has his father in his life, he is best friends with Eijiro Kirishima and is in love with Mina Ashido.
  • Badass Boast: The final line of his "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Bakugo.
Izuku: "I am Izuku Daiki Midoriya… AND YOU'RE NOT PART OF MY STORY ANYMORE!"
  • Badass Pacifist: To the shock of many, he never once threw a punch in his 15 years of life. This is hinted at during the fight with Overhaul; all Izuku really did was look after Eri and release his flames.
  • Chubby Chaser: Downplayed. He doesn't mind women being fatter since he grew up with Inko, who is a plump but loving and sweet mother.
  • Cowardly Lion: Despite being scared of his own Quirk and still recovering from several traumatizing moments in his childhood, Izuku is always ready and willing to step up and aid those in need as seen by protecting Eri, fighting Bakugou at the USJ and blasting away robots at the Sports Festival.
  • Face Your Fears: Finally and truly fights Katsuki after it looks like he killed Momo, Eijiro, and Mina. He delivers a scathing speech about how he held onto hope for their childhood dream for so long before learning what real friends would do and declaring Katsuki is no longer part of his story.
  • Facial Horror: While he's got some pretty bad burns over almost his whole body, his face has certainly taken a few especially nasty hits; blackened lips that expose teeth, a Jonah Hex-like strand of flesh keeping them connected, an eyebrow burned off enough to show bone and otherwise leather looking skin with tiny black spots all over.
  • The Heart: He's shaping up as this for Class 1-C.
  • Ironic Fear: Played for Drama. Due to the incident that caused him to become scarred, Izuku is deathly afraid of fire, which he can freely absorb, release, and manipulate.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: He apparently stopped a gang war during his two years at Aldera Private, although he's not exactly sure how.
  • Power Misidentification: What initially seemed like a simple 'Catch and Release' power is MUCH stronger; with rainbow flames with all sorts of powers.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Delivers one to Bakugo, commenting on how the blonde destroyed both his own future and their friendship and how Izuku is moving on.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: He's the brilliant wannabe hero who keeps to himself. Mina is the outgoing dancing queen who wants to befriend everyone. Heck, it's the same with his adoptive sister Himiko.
  • Self-Deprecation: When he sees Eri is scared of him, he feels he deserves it. This has apparently happened before.
  • Single-Stroke Battle: Technically has this with Overhaul; doing the most damage to him out of everyone.
  • The Smart Guy: The smartest student in Class 1-C, as his analysis shows. Heck, he's so smart, he got into UA based on his analysis notes alone.
  • Trauma Button: Flames in general, but especially the sound of fire crackling. Luckily, his Cooling Mummy Suit and his own training can help him ignore it to a point.
  • What You Are in the Dark: During the fight with Overhaul, he is dosed in flames and starts having a panic attack. However, when he hears Eri whimpering, he steels his resolve to comfort her and promises to keep her safe.

     Ben Kayama

Ben Kayama

Quirks: Disaster, Regeneration, Bone Manipulation, Blood Manipulation

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ben_71.jpg

The adopted son of Midnight. He apparently has four different Quirks at his disposal.

  • Artificial Human: He was created by Daiki from the DNA of Nana Shimura and her husband as a favor to the two of them when they were unable to have another child.
  • Author Avatar: Well, Co-Editor Avatar, but it still counts.
  • Big Brother Mentor: Is shaping up to be this to Izuku.
  • Bully Hunter: While he didn't gear up to hunt down Izuku's bullies like the rest of the class, he made no attempt to stop it, even claiming that they had beatdowns coming.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: With Penny, whom he has known for years.
  • Destructive Savior: While he’s more mindful than other versions of this trope, Ben will often go for a very flashy and powerful attack to get the job done.
  • Forgot About His Powers: He realizes he could’ve ended the fight with Overhaul much quicker if he used Disaster....after the fight has already concluded.
  • Happily Adopted: By Midnight.
  • Superpower Lottery: He has four different Quirks, each one said to be quite powerful. It is currently unknown how he got them.

     Monika Salvato

Monika Salvato

Quirk: Digital

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/monika_9.png

A girl with all the makings of a Student Council President. Her Quirk, Digital, allows her to manipulate technology and access the internet as well as manipulate the world around her like a computer program.

  • Adaptational Heroism: She's not a Yandere obsessed with the player character and is instead a Hero-in-Training.
  • Bully Hunter: When Izuku admits how he used to be bullied at Aldera, Monika is prepared to use her Quirk to access the internet and ruin the social lives of those who tormented him.
  • Class Representative: She's appointed as such for Class 1-C, which she's pretty okay with.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: Assures Jiro that she can only 'delete' inorganic material...then silently adds 'Unless it's a villain.' this implies Monika is far more deadly than she lets one.
  • Reality Warper: Her Quirk gives her the ability to manipulate things around her as if they were part of a computer program. However, Monika prefers to call herself a 'Reality Hacker' instead.
  • Technopath: She can manipulate technology for hacking as well as manipulate data energy to access the internet freely, even when she's not near a computer. She even is able to bring up holographic screens that allow her to access the entire world's wi-fi network.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sayori_7.png

  • Dramatic Irony: She, a Phoenix Quirk user, is in the same class as Izuku, a boy who is TERRIFIED of flames despite having a very strong Fire-type Quirk. Downplayed in that they seem to be getting along just fine.
  • Friend to All Children: She adores Eri the moment she sees her.
  • Nice Girl: She's one of the nicest girls in all of Class 1-C.

  • Fiery Redhead: She has auburn hair and is full of energy and spunk.
  • Pragmatic Hero: She suggests sliming Izuku's bullies, as it won't actually hurt them, still teach them a lesson and gives Class 1-C plausible deniability, as they can blame faulty pipes/sewage for the damage.
  • Shout-Out: Her Quirk is a blatant one to the powers of Delsine Rowe.
  • Youthful Freckles: Has a dash of them on her face.

     Saiko Bichitaru

Saiko Bichitaru

  • Blood Knight: She enjoys fighting, best demonstrated during the 1-A/1-C Mock Trials.

  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: With Kaizo, although it flipflops between whose which.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: One of her likes is fried chicken.
  • Tranquil Fury: Out of everyone who gets angry at hearing how Izuku was bullied, Saiko is certainly one of the most prominent, even summoning a freaking railgun with her Quirk to emphasize how badly she wants to hurt his former bullies.

A shy Gamer Chick and all-around Nice Girl. Her Quirk, Gamer Arsenal, allows her to harness any powers, skills, items, and weapons of video game characters.

  • Bully Hunter: Despite her overall friendly demeanor, Tari was also angry to hear that Izuku had been bullied and was ready to join everyone else in hunting them down.
  • Composite Character: She mainly takes from her SMG4 counterpart but her last name Sheridan takes from her Meta Runner counterpart.
  • Cuteness Proximity: When she meets Eri, she declares her to be so cute, it should be illegal.
  • The Game Come to Life: She can manifest the powers, skills, items, and weapons of characters from video games that she has played.
  • Gamer Chick: Considering how her Quirk works, it's only natural that one of her favorite things is playing video games.
  • Nice Girl: She's a pretty sweet and friendly girl with a soft spot for cute things.
  • Required Secondary Power: She needs to have played the game and know about it in order to manifest the powers and tools from it. Thankfully, being a Gamer Chick, this is no issue for her.

  • Semi-Divine: Her Quirk grants her some form of divine powers, such as forming a powerful sword, moving at supersonic speeds, and more.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nilesbaseform_1.png

A laid-back young man who lives on the premises of UA. His Quirk, Quirk Artificer, grants him the impressive power to take, give, edit, fuse, copy, and duplicate Quirks.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Unlike in his home series, he's not an Omnicidal Maniac perfectionist trying to create the perfect universe for his best friend. However, his Quirk and its capabilities do bring to mind a more powerful version of All For One...
  • Awesome by Analysis: He can analyze Quirks(partly due to his own power), allowing him to all but figure out not only that Ochako carries One For All (although he has no idea what that is) but that Izuku’s Quirk is still not fully developed.
  • Foil: For all intents and purposes, he IS the exact opposite of All For One in all but powers.
  • It's Personal: He has it out for Tomura and contributes by not just severing his arm when he tries to attack Mina, but also taking away his Quirk.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: He was able to sense the presence of the Nomu at the USJ personally even though the students were given distress beacons to alert them to any dangers beforehand.
  • Power Copying/Power Parasite: He can permanently copy other people's Quirks and put them in his 'forge' to alter at his leisure, changing their properties and effects as well as combining them with other Quirks he's copied. And just like All For One, he can just as easily steal Quirks and give them away as he sees fit.

  • Everybody Hates Mathematics: He was upset when the bells rang for class to begin as the students of 1-C were bonding, especially because they'd have to do a subject any school student hates
Kaizo: "Aw, and we were just getting along! Now we gotta do Math!"
  • Horned Humanoid: He has a pair of demon-esque horns coming out of his head.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: With Saiko, although it flip-flops between whose which.

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: He finally calls Izuku, Momo, and Setsuna his friends and is terrified when he sees Izuku dosed in flames.
  • Compelling Voice: He can brainwash anybody who verbally responds to him. He attends Quirk Anonymous meetings due to the fact most people make fun of him for having a Quirk that could work for a Villain.
  • Guile Hero: he tries to trap/delay Overhaul during their fight with sporting tape, wielding it like his father would his combat scarf.
  • Happily Adopted: By Eraserhead. In fact, it's thanks to this connection that Izuku manages to get out of the toxic environment of Aldera due to Hitoshi suspecting he was being bullied there and alerting his dad about it.
  • Karmic Jackpot: He worked hard to get where he was and through a support system with QA, he’s the one carryover student into the new Hero Class 1-D.

  • Cards of Power: One of the two facets of her Quirk. She can create cards carrying the property of what she's touched and apply the property to another by inserting the card into them.
  • Liquid Assets: One of the two facets of her Quirk. She can create bubbles that remove the properties of whatever they come into contact with. This is essentially a Quirk version of Soft & Wet.
  • Nice Girl: Everyone who meets her can tell she is an absolute sweetheart.
  • Thinks Like a Romance Novel: She has a vested interest in romantic situations and even potentially hopes to find her true love as a hero.
