Jacob Sherwood and crew's "Bad Creepypasta" is a series in which they read and mock creepypastas, including Jeff the Killer, Sonic.exe, The Real Chuck E. Cheese, Squidward's Suicide, and many more. Recurring guests include MD Phantasm, Vinnce12, and The Overanalyst, among a few others. From time to time, they also read fan-made pastas inspired by their riffs.
When they're not ripping on badly written creepypastas, Jacob and his friends have aspirations of film-making. He has made a few independent horror movies (The Dead Walk and the unfinished Ex Abyssus), and they were working on a fan film named Darkland, based on Ben Drowned, though most of the movie's footage was lost forever when the computer bricked. They have also made tragedies, such as Grey Sea (a sequel of which is currently in the works.) They also did a series of Let's Plays called Super Brit Bros., and will occasionally livestream on YouTube and Twitch.
Their website is here, and their YouTube page can be found here

Bad Creepypasta provides examples of:
- Accentuate the Negative: Judging by the title, it's clear that Jacob, Toby, and Matt do not read the best of the bunch regarding creepypastas.
- April Fools' Day:
- Overlapping with
Trolling Creator; for April 2014, a new Bad Creepypasta video was uploaded which would cover the My Little Pony fanfic/creepypasta Cupcakes (Sergeant Sprinkles). It turned out to be a recipe for baking cupcakes. In the video, they explained that the reason they didn't read the fanfic is because there isn't much to say about it and that it contains too much gore for them.
- For April Fool's Day 2018, they did both a mock dramatic reading for a Candle Cove style Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa creepypasta and a Stylistic Suck Pasta.
- Overlapping with
- Arch-Enemy:
- Jeff The Killer. Whenever they read a story about him, expect them to be at their most vicious.
- JC the Hyena. Sonic.Exe is probably their most hated pasta after Jeff, and he has given a lot of shit for "attacking" his work.
- Slimebeast has given them shit as well. Though Toby seems to dislike him the most.
- Asshole Victim: Some of the Creepypasta protagonists become this. Special shout-out to the protagonist of Youchan who reviled in snuff and gore. The three made it very clear that they didn't care when he inevitably falls victim to the titular website.
- Berserk Button:
- For Jacob, grammar mistakes and tense swaps really bug him, special mentions to "Essepically" and "Digestives".
- For Toby, any forced Title Drop will send him into a rage.
- For Matt, anything he considers as weeb/edgy shit will make him go apeshit, although everybody hates "terrible weeb cancer" in the show, he wins the crown by exploding in anger the first few seconds MCCP's appearance is described because she had a purple hair streak.
Jacob: (After Matt stops venting) You've been holding that for a while, haven't you?Matt: Possibly!- Vinnce12 hates Mary Sues with a passion, exploding in Jane the Killer: The Real Story when Jane's friends are described, it gets to the point that when his internet connection goes down mid-rant, the crew begins to crack a few jokes about his rage destroying his internet.
- HoodoHoodlumsRevenge hates serious or mature topics being managed poorly in a story. Much to contrast with his optimism in his own channel, is extremely bitter and can't finish most of his sentences without saying the word "fuck" once in the reading of Clockwork: Your Time is Up
- Averted with Gemma: Even when the brits are boiling with rage, she rarely, if ever, gets angry.
- Pointless graphic violence, exploitation horror and flagrant use of rape in order to shock the reader. Particularly, if it's done gratuitously to a child or animal.
- Any sentence that makes absolutely no sense, such as "The knife sounded like it had no reason."
- Commenters assuming that a story is real, no matter how unrealistic and stupid the story is.
- Big "NO!": Toby has one when he finds out about "X - 7 Guardians", given that they show up out of nowhere, have names that are simply "(Japanese word emotion) the guardian of (English word for said emotion)", and the end up having no impact of the plot.
- Black Comedy:
- The riffers cracked a few jokes about a little girl the titular Smiley accidentally murdered.
- In general, they crack a fair amount of black comedy jokes during a riff.
- Cluster F-Bomb: When a story gets bad, they're bound to swear like no tomorrow.
- Matt dropped a barrage of F-bombs after the reading of Jeff The Killer vs. Slenderman.
- A barrage of F-bombs of by the crew after their reading of Clockwork: Your Time Is Up.
- Country Matters: Jacob is very fond of using the word whenever he gets mad or really wants to call someone a dick, most notably in the second half of 'Digimon The Lost Movie and Majour Complex Carnage Project'.
- Crystal Dragon Jesus: Name-dropped by Matt near the end of Call of Duty: Black Hell Ops when the protagonist believes the Japanese choir in the game are the victims of Hiroshima speaking to him.Matt: Sweet Crystal Dragon Jesus, is this guy serious?
- Cuteness Proximity: Toby's infant daughter was in the room during their riffing of YouChan, and he's pulled off the story twice because she was acting cute. The first time it happens, Jacob puts up a screenshot of Toby and his daughter to prove it (and she is adorable).
- Da Chief: Their interpretation of the chief from "Sonic.exe/Round 2".
- Deadpan Snarker: What Jacob, Toby, and Matt initially set out to do when making fun of a story. Often turns into yelling at the story.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: The group makes quite a few jokes about the "feeling" Jeff the Killer gets in his story being sexual arousal. Even more so in the remake, to the point of a Jaw Drop.
- A Dog Named "Dog": The group make fun of the lack of creativity in the dog named Fido from Laughing Jack.
- Dramatic Ellipsis: They poked some fun with this at the end of Thomas.
- The Dreaded: Played for Laughs with the Toffee Crisp Vampire.
- Drinking Game: Jacob, Toby, and Matt participated in a drinking game for their readings of Sonic.exe and Sonic.exe/Round 2. After the second one, they swore never to do one again. This promise didn't keep, though, as YouChan has them drink whenever they call the story's main character a piece of shit.
- Dude, Not Funny!: The guys' thoughts on Dating Game, since the story is in incredibly bad taste, and is also the reason why they are much angrier during the reading.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Defied in their riff of How Jeff Killed Christmas. Jacob points out that just because Jeff spared a little girl's life, doesn't make him any less of an irredeemable monster, especially since he just murdered the little girl's parents.
- Everyone Has Standards: They hate the nameless main character of "Dating Game" because of how overly-dramatic, sexist and selfish he is. The bad writing and exploitive horror didn't help in the slightest.
- Not to mention the protagonist of YouChan, who, in his words, is "Addicted to violence, rape and murder.", this makes the brits despise him to the point of starting a drinking game for each time they call him a piece of shit.
- The Faceless: MD Phantasm wears a mask to hide his face out of privacy.
- Fan Hater: They absolutely despise Jeff the Killer and its fandom. Jacob also went as far as insulting them for liking it in their Top 10 Worst Creepypastas list. They have also expressed hatred towards fans of Clockwork: Your Time is Up during the reading of said story.
- Flat "What": Jacob's reaction to the ending of Sonic.exe. During the outtakes of the Sonic.exe drinking game, Toby also had this reaction after Jacob and Matt mentioned an NSFW Pokémon fanfic to him.
- This happens with Jacob twice during the reading of Smiley as he had a hard time reading a poorly-constructed sentence in the story.
- Funny Background Event:
- About two-thirds into the reading of Jane the Killer: The Real Story, Vinnce12 began to ranting and raging on the creepypasta only for him to lose connection in the Skype chat. The other readers assumed Vinnce12's rage destroyed his internet connection.
- In the readings of Alex Melee and The Mannequien, Jacob fell asleep, leaving the others to read the rest.
- During the reading of Suicidemouse.avi, Toby hit random keys on a piano when Jacob mentioned the piano noises in the story.
- At the end of one of their riffs, Toby talks to his cat asking 'How did you get there'?, Matt replies with "Magic cat."
- Gender-Blender Name: The protagonist of The Bloody Painter is a boy named Helen.
- A Good Name for a Rock Band: From Smiley: Laser Tourrettes. This is Lampshaded as Vinnce12 declares it the most epic band name ever.
- Gosh Dang It to Heck!: "Mr. Hillenburg is obviously angry at this. He demanded to know what the heck was going on." The group reading the story comment on the fact that the author used the word heck after describing the incredibly gory descriptions of dead children.
- Grammar Nazi: The BAD CREEPYPASTA crew often calls a creepypasta out for their poor use of grammar, spelling errors, and tense swaps.
- Gratuitous German: Jacob's opening line for TF2 Nightmare.
- Gratuitous Japanese: The description of the Call of Duty: Black Hell Ops riff is "Watashi wa Bootman Bill desu. Watashi no nihongo wa heta desu."
- Grumpy Old Man: Parodied in the Jeff The Killer reading, where Jacob gave Jeff a voice of an old man.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: The crew brought on an actual school teacher for their riff of Squidward's Suicide in the hopes of getting the story critically eviscerated by a trained educator, a chance to laugh at her mortified reaction to the content or both. Instead, she chewed them out for being grown adults mocking the writing of children.
- Hype Backlash: Invoked. The crew had a particularly nasty one after reading the unanimously-praised Jeff The Killer vs. Slenderman, from ridiculing the story to Toby going flat-out berserk to the sheer stupidity of the couple introduced at the end and ridiculing fans of the creepypasta.
- Hypocritical Humor: During a Let's Watch of Evan Bernardi's Easter Egg - Snow on Mt. Silver fan film, Toby mocked Blake's messy hair only to get called out by Jacob who mentioned that his hair wasn't any better, then posted a picture of Toby's hair before his haircut.
- Insult to Rocks: After the reading of It's OK, Your Soul Doesn't Matter, MD Phantasm claimed the story was written by children for children to read. Jacob thought it was too insulting and went into a small rant how children should be writing better stories as they are learning in school.
- The Internet Is for Porn:
- They mocked the protagonist of I HATE YOU for using his newly acquired computer to pirate pornography, and turned one of the lines into a wanking joke.
- In the reading of A Chao's Demise, Jacob suggested the protagonist should be introduced to internet porn for eagerly waiting for his friend to give him a bootleg copy of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle for free.
- In Soul Eater: Bad Blood, they assume the protagonist waited for his parents to leave the house so he can watch what he thought was a hentai version of Soul Eater.
- Jerkass:
- Matt is the least sympathetic of the group when it comes to ripping on creepypastas and their authors. MD Phantasm also has some jerkass moments towards some of the stories he's involved in.
- Some of the authors whose stories the crew read also fall into this category; the most egregious example being J.C The Hyena, the author of Sonic.exe (who threw an infamous tantrum when his story was removed from the Creepypasta Wiki).
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Matt, Jacob and Toby can be pretty mean towards stories, creators and each other. However, whenever they call out horrible stories they always have a point. They also clearly respect each other and their fans.
- Larynx Dissonance: As they read Clockwork: Your Time Is Up, when it comes time to read Natalie's dialogue, they experiment with her first line. Her voice goes from Batman to Dr. Claw to The Rock Biter.
- Male Gaze: They always use it as proof that a character is a scumbag.
- They call the protagonist of Dating Game a Dirty Old Man for ogling women, especially how much he enjoys watching his date play pool.
- They disapprove of the protagonist of Memory Card taking naughty snaps of Naomi from Metal Gear Solid.
- The protagonist of Digimon: Lost Movie is immediately called a furry for mentioning that Renamon (whom, for context, is a humanoid vixen who wears purple arm-warmers and nothing else) is his favorite character.
- Major Injury Underreaction: In "Dog Bite", they keep ripping on the fact that the main character is nonchalant about having been bit in the face by a dog.
- Mascot: The Toffee Crisp Vampire is one to BAD CREEPYASTA.
- MST: Of poorly-written creepypastas, as well as mocking the clichés and contrived elements often associated with them.
- "No. Just… No" Reaction: Jacob refused to read the
detailed descriptions of dead children in Squidward's Suicide and Laughing Jack.
- They also had a similar reaction to a lot of the gorn in Clockwork: Your Time Is Up.
Toby(?): (In a singsong voice): I'm not reading the rest of this!- Toby did it again in YouChan when the author described something disgusting. It took Jacob a moment to realize he did that, and was mortified at what Toby skipped (thankfully not reading it himself).
- And again in The Origin of Laughing Jack. They skip the entire second half of the story because it's almost nothing but Gorn.
- "Not Making This Up" Disclaimer:
- All of the the pictures shown on the first part of the Jane The Killer: The Real Story riff, are all drawings of Nazis. Underneath the pictures, there's text that reads "ACTUAL ARTWORK BY THE AUTHOR!" note , later on it turns into text such as "SERIOUSLY... HOW DOES THIS GUY SLEEP AT NIGHT?"
- In the reading of Tetro, they posted the page image for the story, which depicted a poorly-drawn person melting done in MS Paint. Underneath the image has the caption of "ACTUAL IMAGE FROM THE WIKI".
- During Mindless Max, a picture of a boy in a house is followed with the caption "Actual picture for this story on the wiki"
- Number of the Beast: This cropped up often in Supermario666 and they counted how many times "666" showed up in the story along its clichés.
- Obligatory Swearing: "Jeff The Killer vs. Slenderman" and "Jeff the Killer vs. Michael Myers" are criticized for use of swearing in an attempt to make Jeff look cool.
- Purple Prose: The author's use of purple prose in "Blood Whistle" is quickly noticed and ridiculed.
- Rage Quit: When a creepypasta gets too infuriating, this is what happens. Usually involves Toby.
- Jacob understandably did just this after a part in Dating Games where The main character finds out his wife is a killer through watching a video of her murdering an infant
- Raging Stiffie: They made some boner jokes about the "random feeling" Jeff was having in Jeff The Killer.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
- The BAD CREEPYPASTA crew gave a harsh speech towards the author of Clockwork: Your Time Is Up and everything wrong with it after the reading of the story.
- A particularly scathing one is given by Jacob in the episode on the Dating Game which had the Serial Killer wife kill off her two sons (one of whom was an infant) in horribly gruesome ways just for shock value. After reading about this, he angrily refuses to read any more of the story (leaving his cohorts Matt and Toby to finish it), and gives the author one of the show's most brutal verbal beatdowns at the end of the episode, in a tone dripping with nothing but pure, calm hatred (in stark contrast to the comparatively gentle ribbing of the story from the beginning of the episode).
- Running Gag:
- "Could this X be the work of the Illuminati?", in reference to a bizarre aside in Blood Whistle. A T-Shirt design based off of it is even in the works.
- Jacob, Toby, and Matt calling Michael Myers various shapes whenever "Jeff the Killer vs. Michael Myers" refers to him as "The Shape".
- Referring to blood as 'Vick's Vapor Rub' in "Kirby's Deadland".
- Toby "correcting" any mention of the Emerald Isle as Emerald Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in Abandoned by Disney.
- If Jeff the Killer appears in a story, he's usually referred to as a fish, and is given the voice of an old Northern English man.
- In general, famous creepypasta characters (Sonic.exe, Jane the Killer, etc.) are typically given really funny voices with often exaggerated accents. The only character to subvert this is Clockwork, who, while given a deep, guttural growl at first, is later switched to a normal and quiet feminine voice due to the former (the Rock Biter) hurting Jacob's throat.
- Though it isn't as common as it used to be, whenever the word floor came either a few words or a sentence after the word door, one of the them would say "Do the dinosaur."
- In Thomas, Jacob and Matt refer to one of the characters, Valerie, as Valerie, Valerie Hudson due to the way the story introduced her. They eventually stop the running gag.
- During Pokemon Dead Channel, they start making sex-with-your-dad Jokes.
- Sanity Slippage: The brits get increasingly vicious and annoyed the more a story goes on. All of the stories with 2 to 4 parts? To put it blunt, they tend to quite not like them, special mentions to Clockwork: Your Time Is Up, Dating Game, Sonic.exe, Jeff the Killer and Blood Whistle, as they will forever remain as their most hated pastas.
- Sarcasm Mode: Happens a lot.
- Sarcastic Clapping: One of these is given to the line "the next level started, its name was NoisNeMiD DaEd. This scared me because it was "Dead Dimension" Backwards," during the reading of Kirby's Deadland.
- One was done while reading the comment section of I HATE YOU.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here:
- After Toby heard I HATE YOU got a creepypasta of the month award, he walked out of the room only to come back shortly afterwards.
- Upon reading the "We can't just kill that thing! It's a beast version of our mascot!" from The Real Chuck E. Cheese, Jacob walked out in anger and left Toby to read the rest.
- Jacob attempted to walk out of reading Jeff the Killer vs. Slenderman in the first few sentences of the story but the others convinced him to keep reading.
- Jacob walked out briefly during Sonic.exe/Round 2 once Derek, the “really good detective”, realized that
X might be the killer.
Matt: But Jacob, we can’t kill it, it’s a beast version of our mascot!- In the reading of Jeff the Killer vs. Michael Myers, Jacob immediately walked out when he got to the part where Jeff the Killer and Jane the Killer made out, Toby wanted to ragequit as well, but they decided the show had to move on.
- Toby tried to leave at the beginning of Clockwork: Your Time Is Up, claiming he had a doctor's appointment, but was stopped due to Jacob saying "Toby, sit the fuck down".
- Separated by a Common Language: Discussed in their response to Slimebeast's critique of their Abandoned by Disney reading. They admit that they did not realize that the fifty foot snake was not simply a large snake, but far larger than any real snake, due to not being not familiar with the imperial system.
- Serial Escalation: When giving their closing thoughts on Clockwork: Your Time Is Up, Dating Game, and How Jeff Killed Christmas respectively, Matt would come up with increasingly over-the-top ways of telling the authors of said stories to eat a dick, culminating in this wonderful quote:Matt: "6000 years ago in an ancient city, mankind came together to build a tower made of dicks. And God did say, 'That is way too many dicks' and smote them! And made many languages, and from the ruins YOU ATE THE DICK. TOWER. OF BABYLON!!"
- Shout-Out: They joke about Laughing Jack being set in space after the protagonist of the story yells at the titular monster "Get away from him, you bastard!".
- "I have no mouth yet I must words." Said in regards to J.C the Hyena's writing.
- In the reading of Jane the Killer: The Real Story, they referred Jane the Killer as Big Jane Lebowski.
- Matt dropped this one in the second part of the I HATE YOU riff: "One of these things is not like the other." There was also this exchange in the first part of the riff:
Jacob: "'I picked up the key and opened up the (Beat) door.'"
Matt: "Got on the floor."
Jacob and Matt: "Everybody walk the dinosaur."- At the end of the Smiley riff, MD Phantasm gave us this: "I want to be (sings a high note) sledgehammer."
- The opening line for Supermario666: "Hey, this is BAD CREEPYPASTA. Unfortunately, Matt can't come with us today. He was going to come, but everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked." Other examples of this include, but are not limited to:
- Soul Eater: Bad Blood: "Matt can't be with us today; he's busy giving whatever it is up there a nice, big Andy's Room welcome."
- Kirby's Deadland: "Shadowwolf [Toby] can't be here; folks around might think he's crazy, but he's got to rescue Daisy."
- Thomas: "Shadowwolf can't be with us because he's busy being the caretaker; he's always been the caretaker."
- The Mannequin & Alex Melee: "Toby cannot be here today. Unfortunately he's been blasting and laughing so long that even his mum thinks his mind has gone."
- One particular instance of "MaRIo II" required a disclaimer concerning the time of filming so that no one would accuse them of ripping a joke off: Toby telling Jacob Arin's "Mario's overalls" joke.
- 'YouChan': "Mom, you're alive!" "Too bad YOU...Will die!"
- Skewed Priorities: It is frequently pointed out how the narrator of Dating Game views being a single 32-year-old employed at Burger King as being the most traumatic thing in the world, even compared to other peoples' children dying of leukemia and even himself getting sodomized with a screwdriver.
- Special Guest: In the reading of Squidward's Suicide, the crew brought in an English teacher to give her an idea of Sturgeon's Law of creepypastas.
- Suckiness Is Painful: Lampshaded by Toby at the end of the Sonic.exe drinking game after taking many shots of booze from ripping on the story.Toby: "Yeah, I think I'm going to head to the pub now and uh—oh wait, hang on, I've already done fucking liver poisoning."
- Take That!:
- Jacob makes many to Zack Snyder.
- He's also fond of taking a few shots at PewDiePie.
- After the release of the Jurassic World trailer, many are made to it.
- Vinnce12 took a shot towards Drake in the Smiley riff.
- Several are made towards the Harry Potter series in multiple videos.
- Tempting Fate: In My Name is MCCP, the increasingly ridiculous events in the story cause Jacob to say that Slender Man is going to show up. Guess what happens just minutes later.
- The "Fun" in "Funeral": Toby and Matt point out that J.C the Hyena describing a wake as a "funeral party" is very disrespectful.
- Translation Trainwreck: They assumed It Will Get Worse was ran through Google Translate five times.
- Wrestler in All of Us:
- In their reading of Jeff the Killer, MD Phantasm made a few quips in this regard when the fight scenes came around. Although it could hardly be helped considering one of the characters is named Randy.
- The fanpasta Jeff the Killer: Hyper British Edition, when Jeff piledrives Randy (named Jacob in this version) then drags him onto the roof and suplexes him off the roof onto a table of assorted puddings.
- You Bastard!: During the gang's riff of Clockwork: Your Time Is Up, after getting to the
incestuous child rape, Jacob calls out their viewers for suggesting the story to them. Toby, however, suggests that they direct their anger towards the author and fans of the story, while their editor at the time decides to call out all of the above.
- You, Get Me Coffee: In their sporking of Squidward's Suicide, Jacob mocks the idea of an intern working with animators and editors, rather than doing this. Given that they are Brits, they assume he would serve tea instead.Toby: "The closest thing to spongebob you've ever seen was a guy dressed as him, and you were serving him the tea!"
- You Keep Using That Word: The phrase "hyper-realistic" gets called out in some of the video game and lost episode creepypastas they've read when they're used in the wrong context.
- Sometimes they'll read sentences again or put them on the screen (although it's up to the editor) whenever they find sentences or words without any sense, such as "Thankfully rhe screaming stopped" in Tetro and "Gerty and Phil where mentally unstable. This is because of their age." in the Hey Arnold! Theory.
