- Acting for Two: More than a few voice actors do double duty here.
- Steve Blum as Wolverine, Venom and Bullseye.
- Brian Bloom as Captain America and Daredevil in the main game, plus Punisher in the DLC.
- Fred Tatasciore as Hulk and Ghost Rider, plus Beast as an NPC.
- David Kaye as Vision and Corvus Glaive.
- Scott Porter as both Star-Lord and Cyclops.
- Nolan North as Rocket Raccoon and Deadpool.
- Adam Harrington as Groot and Lockjaw.
- All-Star Cast: In terms of voice acting, at least. The voice cast is full of reprises of talent prominent in fields ranging from animation, video games and anime, some dating as far back as the '90s. This includes Steve Blum, Tom Kane, James C. Mathis III, Yuri Lowenthal, Ashly Burch, Johnny Yong Bosch, Kathreen Khavari, Rick D. Wasserman, Liam O'Brien, Brian Bloom, Fred Tatasciore, Diedrich Bader, Vanessa Marshall, Laura Bailey, Crispin Freeman, Nolan North, Bumper Robinson, Kari Wahlgren, Chris Cox, Erica Lindbeck, Josh Keaton, Kate Higgins, Jason Spisak, Dwight Schultz, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Tara Strong, Nika Futterman, Richard Epcar, Christopher Daniel Barnes, Scott Porter, and Robbie Daymond, among others.
- Actor Allusion: Turns out that Mara Junot (voice of Storm) is no stranger when it comes to voicing powerful queens.
- Content Leak: Elektra, The Vision, and Ant-Man were all revealed to be in the game through a leaked T-shirt design on Amazon. The designs themselves came from the menu screens of chapters 3 and 4 respectively and of the characters, only Elektra is playable. note
- Channel Hop: In regards to both developer and publisher. The first game was developed by Raven Software, the second by Vicarious Visions, and both were published by Activision. This game will be developed by Team Ninja and published by Nintendo.
- Dueling Works: With Square Enix's Marvel's Avengers. Both are Marvel-based video games with an influence from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Ultimate Alliance 3 is bright, colorful, stars heroes and villains from throughout the Marvel Universe and downplays the MCU influence while playing up ties to the original comics, Avengers is dark, bleak, focuses on the Avengers lineup from the movies and heavily plays up the MCU influence. Furthermore, Avengers is multi-platform on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and made by a Western (specifically, American) developer in Crystal Dynamics (though they are owned by Square Enix, a Japanese company) while Ultimate Alliance 3 is a Nintendo Switch exclusive developed by Japanese studio Team Ninja.
- No Port For You: Due to Nintendo funding and publishing the game, it's unlikely that it will see any ports to non-Nintendo consoles, despite the first two games being multiplatform.
- The Original Darrin:
- James Arnold Taylor reprises his role as Iceman from the first game after previously being replaced by Adam Bobrow for the second one.
- Steve Blum reprises his role as Venom from the first Ultimate Alliance after being replaced with John Kassir for the second.
- The Other Darrin: With a few exceptions note , nearly everyone from the first two games has been recast, with the majority of the replacement voice actors having played the characters in other projects since then.
- Magneto is played by Tom Kane, instead of Phil Proctor (who played him in 2) or Richard Green (who played him in 1 and X-Men Legends II).
- Similarly, Deadpool is now instead played by Nolan North again, replacing his previous voice actor John Kassir from X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse and the previous two Ultimate Alliance games.
- Mara Junot takes over as Storm, replacing Dawnn Lewis from the first two games.
- Eric Loomis takes over as Iron Man, replacing the late John Cygan from X-Men Legends II and the first Ultimate Alliance and Crispin Freeman from the second Ultimate Alliance.
- Liam O'Brien now voices Nightcrawler, replacing Dee Bradley Baker from the previous X-Men Legends and Ultimate Alliance games.
- James C. Mathis III reprises his role as Black Panther, replacing Phil LaMarr from the first game and Khary Payton from the second.
- Yuri Lowenthal replaces Quinton Flynn from the first game and Ben Diskin from the second game as Spider-Man.

- Johnny Yong Bosch takes over as Iron Fist from Peter Dobson in Ultimate Alliance 2.
- Fred Tatasciore replaces Nolan North as Ghost Rider.
- Liam O'Brien takes over as Doctor Strange from James Horan in the original game.
- Steve Blum takes over as the Green Goblin, replacing Armin Shimerman from Ultimate Alliance 2.

- Ray Chase replaces Crispin Freeman as the Winter Soldier.
- David Kaye takes over as Vision, replacing Roger Rose from the original game.
- Imari Williams takes over as Blade, replacing Khary Payton from the first two games.
- Rick Pasqualone takes over as Gambit, replacing Michael Dunn from Ultimate Alliance 2.
- Jennifer Hale takes over as Jean Grey/Phoenix, replacing Sarah Waits from the first game and Molly Hagan from the second.
- Matthew Yang King replaces Josh Keaton from the first game and David Kaufman from the second game as the Human Torch.
- Dave Boat takes over as the Thing, replacing Gregg Berger from the first game and Fred Tatasciore from the second game.
- Danica McKellar did not reprise her role as Invisible Woman with Kari Wahlgren replacing her.
- Maurice LaMarche replaces Clive Revill as Dr. Doom.
- James M. Connor replaces David Agranov as Cable.
- Wally Wingert replaces David Naughton from the first game and Robert Clotworthy from the second game as Mr. Fantastic.
- Playing Against Type:
- This is a massive departure for Team Ninja. They've built their name as the makers of Darker and Edgier and/or Hotter and Sexier games such as Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, and Nioh, but this is a comparatively Lighter and Softer entry that has some fanservice but is pretty tame in comparison. Furthermore, their works heavily wear Japanese culture on their sleeve (they are called Team Ninja after all), but this is a game based on superheroes, a distinctly American phenomena (although they do show their known ninja-based work in the Shadowland areas, where the Hand are prominent enemies).
- The same goes for the game's publisher, Nintendo. While they've already done licensed games before, traditionally they've avoided doing those kind of games too often due of the likely possibility of Executive Meddling from the original license holder, and especially if the license holder is from outside Japan (something they learned previously the hard way with the Popeye game in the 80's). Just like Team Ninja, not only are they doing a game based on American superheroes, but also based on a franchise owned by both Marvel Comics and Disney, both of whom are notorious for being very difficult to deal with.
- Pre-Order Bonus: Preordering the Season Pass allowed players to unlock Deadpool early, with him being at level 21, as well as unlocking a chef outfit for Deadpool.
- Promoted Fanboy: Team Ninja are big Marvel fans and always wanted to work with them on a video game. The respect seems to go both ways, as several members within Marvel's gaming division hold Team Ninja in high regard.
- Queer Character, Queer Actor: While not stated in the game itself, Psylcoke, like her voice actress Erica Lindbeck, is canonically bisexual.
- Role Reprise: One of the noted strengths of this game's cast is how most of the characters are reprised by some of their more iconic and well-received voice actors, such as how the main Avengers trinity of Captain America, Iron Man and Thor have their voices from The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Overall, the casting call feels similar to the treatment afforded to the cast of Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
- Steve Blum returns to his role as Wolverine for the first time since the initial LEGO Marvel Super Heroes shorts. Notably, in the series itself, this means Blum is reprising Wolverine from the last Marvel Ultimate Alliance game made 10 years ago. He also reprises his role as the Eddie Brock incarnation of Venom from the first Ultimate Alliance game, as well as the role of Green Goblin from The Spectacular Spider-Man and Bullseye from the 2004 The Punisher video game.
- Josh Keaton reprises his role as Ant-Man from the Ant-Man shorts and Avengers Assemble.

- Dave Boat reprises his role as the Thing, which he has consistently voiced since The Super Hero Squad Show.
- Sequel Gap: Released in 2019, ten years after the previous game.
- Sleeper Hit: Given that the title was made on a budget and much more attention was paid to Marvel's Avengers, financial expectations for the third Marvel Ultimate Alliance game were pretty modest. Nonetheless, the Nintendo Switch-exclusive title was able to sell over a million copies, which is a substantially higher sales figure than either of its multiplatform predecessors.
- Underage Casting: 27-year-old Erica Lindbeck voicing Captain Marvel. Though (as with many other characters) Vague Age is in effect, she's generally agreed to be somewhere in her thirties.
- What Could Have Been:
- Back when Activision had the Marvel license, they mentioned on multiple occasions that a Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 would adapt Secret Invasion similar to how 2 adapted Secret War and Civil War. Years after them losing the license, the game would eventually be announced, and suffice to say, it did not adapt Secret Invasion and instead favored a mixture of stories while being loosely inspired by the The Infinity Gauntlet storyline.
- Datamining the game indicates that Vision, Valkyrie, Black Bolt, and Medusa were all intended to be playable in the base game, but were cut during development — though all of them appear in-game as NPCs. Also worth noting is that the game apparently has space for up to 50 additional DLC characters, although it didn't use all of them by the end of the game's life cycle.
- Unused voice clips were discovered for a number of the boss characters (such as Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, and Ultron) which have them bantering, requesting help, or thanking someone else for an assist, suggesting the game was planned to have more playable supervillains.
- You Sound Familiar:
- Nolan North voiced Ghost Rider in the original game, and while he returns here, he voices Deadpool and Rocket with Fred Tatasciore taking over Ghost Rider duties. North also voiced War Machine in the second game, though unlike Ghost Rider, he does not make an appearance here.
- Crispin Freeman, who voiced Winter Soldier in the first game and Iron Man in the second, now voices Gorgon in the third.
- David Kaye goes from voicing Captain America in the second game to voicing the Vision and Corvus Glaive in this one.
- Josh Keaton voiced the Human Torch in the original game, but in the third voices Scott Lang.
- Tom Kane ironically enough voiced Professor Xavier in the original game before reprising his role of Magneto here.
