  • A young woman who makes a living as a freelance photojournalist on the oceanic planet of Hillys. Jade had lived on the peaceful mining planet with Pey'j, her beloved Honorary Uncle, for as long as she could remember. However, Hillys would find itself being constantly invaded by the DomZ, a parasitic alien race that abducts people to drain their life force, with their war leaving behind no shortage of orphans whom Jade and Pey'j took under their care at their lighthouse island home. As the DomZ war raged on, despite the diligent work of the Alpha Sections in combating the monstrous aliens, Jade began running low on funds for food and electricity and readily took on a lucrative job from the representative of 'Mr. De Castellac'. After finishing that job, which involved fighting a huge DomZ monster, Jade was informed that Mr. De Castellac does not exist and the representative was actually the second-in-command of IRIS Network, a rebel organization who believe the Alpha Sections to be conspiring with the DomZ and trafficking people to the aliens between invasions. IRIS was in dire need of a reporter to capture photographic evidence of the Alpha Sections' duplicity and Jade proved herself to be just the person they needed, the photography job being a test for Jade's skills. Seeing a chance to end the DomZ war once and for all, Jade joined IRIS Network under the codename 'Shauni' and set out to reveal the truth about the Alpha Sections to the people of Hillys. Though Jade suffered some personal losses from this endeavor, with Pey'j getting captured in an Alpha Sections' base and her lighthouse home getting destroyed with all the orphans taken, she persevered enough to expose the Alpha Sections for the traitors that they were to the people of Hillys and took down both General Kehck and the DomZ Priest, ending the Alpha Sections and DomZ threats for good.
  • Jade and Pey'j were taking a break from repairing their lighthouse home one day when they received an Mdisk from an anonymous figure, which simply contained coordinates to a specific spot in space near the planet of Hillys. Pey'j was incredibly suspicious of the nature of this Mdisk, though Jade saw it as a potential job offer and persuaded her uncle to at least check it out with her. Sure enough, when the woman and pig-man duo arrived at the coordinates via the Beluga, they watched with awe and confusion as the star-lit void of space seamlessly transitioned into an ethereal world of varying landscapes across the horizon, as well as gates and portals scattered around. Upon landing their ship, Jade and Pey'j were greeted by the locals of this strange 'planet' and then escorted to a grand temple on the other side of the area they landed on, wherein the two were to be taken to a courtroom. There, Jade and Pey'j were informed that they were within the Pantheon, a realm of deities that is connected to all realities in existence, and the 'Court of the Gods' were the ones who sent that Mdisk; the Pantheon higher ups having learned about Jade's investigative reporting that lead to her exposing a planet-wide conspiracy and defeating two evil factions, and decided she was the perfect representative for "Intrepid Reporter". The fact that Jade took on a completely vague message from an anonymous source as a potential job for reporting solidified the court's decision to ascend Jade for the trope.
    • Jade was beyond flattered to have impressed a group of gods enough for them to want her to join their ranks, and she agreed to join the Pantheon as the Goddess of Intrepid Reporters. But realizing that this 'invitation' wasn't being extended to Pey'j, whose presence was evidently not expected by the Court of the Gods, Jade requested for her uncle to ascend alongside her as co-deity of the trope. The Court was hesitant to approve Jade's request as Pey'j's official profession is that of an engineer, not a reporter, and clarified that Pey'j could accompany Jade as her herald. But Jade argued that Pey'j is as much a reporter as her since he helps Jade with her photojournalism work almost all the time, and her very freelance company is named "Jade Reporting & Co." Not to mention Pey'j was the founder and leader of IRIS Network, which was all about reporting on the government conspiracy that plagued their planet. Seeing the logic in Jade's arguments and realizing she would not relent on this subject, the Court of the Gods extended the title of 'Intrepid Reporter' to Pey'j, and so the woman and pig-man ascended to godhood, which they celebrated with a hug.
      • Shortly after ascending, though, Jade facepalmed as she just remembered Double H, a member of IRIS Network whom Jade saved from the Alpha Sections/DomZ and became her partner after Pey'j got captured, after which the two bonded into Fire-Forged Friends. Jade attempted to persuade the Court of the Gods to also ascend Double H for her and Pey'j' trope, however that was soundly denied as Double H is far more of a soldier than a reporter, and his actual reporting skills are terrible. Not wanting to push her luck, Jade conceded to simply having Double H be her and Pey'j's herald. The Hillyan Soldier didn't mind this status upon being first informed, of course, as he's more than happy to simply be of help to Jade and Pey'j for saving his life. Nonetheless, the woman and sus sapien are looking into tropes to ascend Double H.
  • Alongside Double H, Jade and Pey'j selected Secundo (Jade's AI assistant), Woof (their pet dog), and the Lighthouse Children* (the orphans under their care) to be their heralds within the Pantheon. The two also brought their lighthouse island home into the Pantheon to act as their temple, where the aformentioned heralds mainly reside. Well, except Secundo, who travels everywhere with Jade on account of being a program of her S.A.C., much to Pey'j's displeasure.
  • True to their trope, Jade and Pey'j are always on the lookout for stories to investigate. Or rather, Jade is always searching for stories; Pey'j is more focused on his engineering work. Although the instant Jade does find a big scoop, Pey'j will tag along with her and help however he can. And once those two get involved in a story, nothing will sway the woman and pig-man from quitting. Especially if it's a story that the people must know about, such as the very conspiracy Hillys endured. For that reason, Jade and Pey'j dislike those who hide important truths from the masses and spread propaganda.
  • Many in the Pantheon are curious as to how and why Jade and Pey'j came to be each other's family, and especially what their life was like before living on Hillys. Jade is willing to share details, but doesn't really know much about her own past beyond that her parents died when she was young and entrusted Pey'j with her care. Pey'j himself knows much but refuses to mention anything about his and Jade's past, not wanting to divulge such personal information even to those he considers friends. Despite Pey'j's secrecy, though, some deities were able to glean some of Jade and Pey'j's backstory and learned that Pey'j used to be the cook for a crew of Space Pirates, and Jade herself used to work with the Alpha Sections. Those same deities are trying to learn more, but they think it's going to take a looong time before they can find more information.
  • Jade and Pey'j can often be seen with Rayman, whom the two feel a strong sense of kinship with. Doubly so for Pey'j, as he and Rayman's voices are quite similar, even if Pey'j's accent makes that hard to tell. Rayman is one of the very few deities both Jade and Pey'j trust to visit their temple without supervision, and the limbless man has certainly become a favorite with the Lighthouse Children due to his silly appearance and fun personality.
    • As it happens, there's a species of mosquito on Hillys with the scientific name Aedes raymanis that Jade photographed in the Nutripils Factory. Rayman was amused about that coincidence when Jade told him about it, but then he and Jade became weirded out when she showed him the photo and the bug is the exact same as the mosquitoes of the Glade of Dreams, looking almost exactly the same as one of Rayman's friends, Bzzit. Jade, Pey'j, Secundo, and Rayman have since pondered if a couple of mosquitos from the Glade of Dreams traveled to Hillys through the Pantheon, or if something else was at play.
  • The feeling of kinship between Jade, Pey'j, and Rayman also extends to Rayman's friends and allies: Globox, Betilla, the Teensies, and the Princesses of the Glade of Dream. Jade gets along with all of Rayman's friends well, though she formed a special bond with Globox and the Princesses. Globox mainly because Jade became an honorary aunt to his children, whom she's as protective of as the orphans under her care, and indeed she and Globox arrange for play dates with said orphans at her and Pey'j's temple (Globox being another trusted deity to freely access said temple). And with the Princesses, Jade bonded with them for being fellow badass women and became sparring partners with them. Jade and Double H often train with the Princesses in the House of Combat.
    • As for Pey'j, while he considers all of Rayman's friends allies, he cannot stand being around Globox due to his idiocy and has especially been sore with the big fool ever since Globox accidentally damaged Pey'j's machinery with his rain dancing. Though Pey'j tries his best to tolerate Globox for the sake of Jade, Rayman, and the orphans. Pey'j also finds the Teensies' constant disco dancing highly annoying.
Pey'j: "Hasn't anyone told you guys that disco died centuries ago?!"
The Grand Minimus: "Well, it's not dead in our world."
  • It did not take long after meeting Rayman and friends for Jade and Pey'j to meet their enemies: Mr. Dark, Admiral Razorbeard, and the Magician. Suffice it to say, Jade and Pey'j don't like those three one bit and are more than happy to join Rayman, Globox, the Teensies, and the Princesses in kicking any of their asses should those villains start causing trouble. Of Rayman's enemies, Jade and Pey'j harbor the most hatred for Admiral Razorbeard since his invasion of the Glade of Dreams and trafficking its many denizens, including children, reminds the two all too much of the Alpha Sections and the DomZ.
  • The two are close allies with XCOM, who had endured their own war with alien invaders and, in an alternate timeline, become a resistance force out to expose ADVENT for the bastards they are to a heavily propagandized humanity. Jade and Pey'j have actually become unofficial members of the alternate XCOM: Jade accompanying XCOM's soldiers to ADVENT bases and photographing damning evidence in the shadows while the soldiers took care of the troops, while Pey'j works alongside Lily Shen in designing new gear and equipment for the soldiers. Though the two also help out the "prime" XCOM when able to, whom Jade and Pey'j view as what the Alpha Sections should've been. [Potential interaction between Pey'j and Raymond Shen].
    • It goes without saying that Jade and Pey'j harbor hostile views on ADVENT, with the faction as a whole being the most like the Alpha Sections and DomZ in the Pantheon; being an invasive alien force that replaced a planet's native government/military with one aligned to them, and then propagandized the planet’s population into thinking of the new government/military as heroic protectors when in truth they were assisting the aliens in capturing the planet's populace to prolong the alien's lifespan. The instant they learned of ADVENT’s existence, Jade and Pey'j pledged to take down the organization and their allies.
  • Aside from ADVENT, Jade and Pey'j's major enemies within the Pantheon are Black Doom and Ragyo Kiryuin, who respectively are the most like the DomZ High Priest and General Kheck: the former being a magic-wielding leader to a monstrous alien race that seeks to consume a planet of humans and humanoid animals, and the latter being a human who betrayed her own species and planet to a parasitic alien for the sake of power. The fact that both are horrible parents is just tip of the iceberg to the woman and pigman, and they alongside Double H readily help out in fighting Black Doom and Ragyo whenever they make a move.
  • [Interaction and relationship with April O'Neal and other Reporters]

  • Exclusive to Jade:
    • In addition to reporting and investigating, Jade does all sorts of photography work. Among her favorite kinds of photo jobs is cataloguing species (including sapient ones) for science organizations, which Jade found both fun and lucrative as she photographed animals and people for Hillys' Science Center during her work with IRIS Network. With the abundant amount of different species in the Pantheon, especially in the House of Beasts and Fauna, there is no shortage of such work for Jade and she can often be seen taking photographs of wildlife and people across the Pantheon. And because of this, Jade developed a bond with most of the innocent inhabitants of Beasts and Fauna, even the anthropomorphic ones. After all, she was raised by a Pig Man.
    • When doing covert work, Jade goes by the codename of 'Shauni', a word she first heard from one of the DomZ that stuck with her for reasons she could not figure. When she confronted the DomZ High Priest, though, Jade realized why that word stuck with her: 'Shauni' is Jade’s true identity, and she is the entity whom the DomZ derived power from before she was turned human by Pey'j and Jade's "parents". Whether that makes Jade a DomZ herself or something even higher is something yet to be figured out, but regardless she is one hundred percent human for all intents and purposes, and Jade prefers to identify as such. Consequently, Jade possesses a mystical power that enables her to restore the life force of others, which she used to revive Pey'j after he succumbed to the DomZ's torture, as well as the recently captured and drained Hillyans. Realizing the potential for greater good with this power, Jade began visiting the Houses of Life and Vitality and Health and Diseases to learn from healing deities and hone her life-saving ability.
      • Because of her origins, Jade became good friends with Shadow the Hedgehog and Ryuko Matoi, who are similarly the byproducts of malevolent aliens whose heritage granted them greater power. It also seriously helps that Jade is already enemies with Shadow and Ryuko's respective "parents" whom they hate with a passion. The three can sometimes be seen meditating in the House of Calmness, Jade having managed to convince the hedgehog and teen girl to give the practice a try.
  • Exclusive to Pey'j:
    • Coming from a world where humanoid animals co-exist with humans, and is one of them himself, Pey'j was not surprised at all to see another Pig Man in the form of Marco Pagot, better known across the Pantheon as Porco Rosso. What did surprise Pey'j, though, was learning that Porco Rosso isn’t a natural humanoid pig but a human who got cursed into a walking, talking pig for reasons unknown. Of course, Pey'j admits that his own kind aren't exactly natural either, being animal-human hybrids created via genetic engineering to help "pure" humans colonize planets; something which Porco found disgraceful and hoped the humans of his own world wouldn't resort to that in the distant future. Aside from being pig men, Pey'j and Porco share a lot of common ground in being older heroes who lost friends in combat years ago and became grumpy cynics but nonetheless maintain heroic hearts, and developed a friendly bond with plucky young women (even if Pey'j's bond with Jade is more familial). The two also happen to have an affinity with machinery, even if Porco strictly specializes in aircraft while Pey'j deals in technology well beyond Porco's time. Pey'j and Porco like to have sky races with each other in their respective aircraft, with Pey'j usually winning since the Beluga is an orbit-capable space-ship while Porco pilots a 1920's biplane, though the Italian bounty hunter manages to beat Pey'j a few times with expert piloting and a few upgrades to his plane, courtesy of a certain two-tailed fox.
      • Speaking of, Pey'j got acquainted with Miles "Tails" Prower through Porco Rosso, who felt that Pey'j would get along with a fellow engineer of his caliber. And indeed, Pey'j and Tails developed a mutual respect for each other for their engineering abilities, with Pey'j particularly impressed that Tails is able to build such advanced gadgets and vehicles at such a young age. Though Tails wishes that Pey'j came up with an alternative fuel for his jet boots.
    • Aside from his jet boots, Pey'j fights by using the 'Barranco D53' as a weapon; the Barranco being a wrench that doubles as a bolt cutter, and cat also be used as a hammer and pliers. This naturally attracted the attention of Ratchet, who also wields a multi-purpose wrench as a weapon and is the trope's current god, and both he and Pey'j ended up befriending each other due to their shared hobby of inventing. Pey'j outright admires Ratchet's immense arsenal outside of his Omniwrench while Ratchet is impressed with Pey'j inventions: the Beluga most of all, being a small spacecraft capable of orbiting on its own, though Ratchet even finds the fart-powered jet boots remarkable if crude.
    • Pey'j also caught the interest of other pig deities within the Pantheon, which made the sus sapien feel awkward since he identifies more as a man than an animal and has a love for Mexican food (which can be heavy with pork). Though Pey'j still took the time to know most off them and ended up forming a friendly bond with Pumbaa and Babe. Pumbaa, though simple-minded and has a care-free attitude, has more sense and competence than his partner, Timon (whom Pey'j cannot stand for his know-it-all attitude and idea stealing), and is responsible enough to be a parental figure for an exiled lion cub, which Pey'j highly respects. Certainly helps that Pey'j doesn’t mind Pumbaa's excessive flatulence. And for Babe, Pey'j came to adore the piglet as he does for the Lighthouse Orphans and even allowed Babe free reign into his and Jade's temple, figuring that he and the kids would have fun with each other. Pey'j also feels sorry for what became of Babe's mother and is relieved that Babe has avoided that fate via becoming a "sheep-pig".
      • [Interaction with Napoleon (Animal Farm)]
    • Although he may or may not be from actual Texas, or the US South in general, Pey'j has the voice, spirit, and appetite of a Texan. That combined with Pey'j being a Gadgeteer Genius earned the sus sapien the attention of Sandy Cheeks and Dell Conagher, better known as The Engineer, both being geniuses from Texas who specialize in engineering. Pey'j is baffled at how Dell is able to fix any machine by whacking his wrench at them, and questions why a squirrel would live in the ocean, but finds Dell and Sandy to be trustworthy associates. He and Dell like to get together to improve their respective crafts and Pey’j never misses out on any BBQ Sandy decides to host to experience some true Texan culture.

  • Opposed by: The House of Law and Justice
  • Banned from: The Great Treasury
  • One of the many Talking Animals of the world of Shrek, Kitty Softpaws was once the pet of a loving couple. However, for reasons she cannot figure out, Kitty's owners had her claws removed, permanently robbing her of a natural-born weapon and tool while also instilling within Kitty a deep distrust of others beyond herself. But with great loss comes great gain as Kitty soon learned that the absence of claws made her paws so soft that no one could notice her touch, even as she was stealing items right from their hands. And so Kitty Softpaws took to the life of crime and quickly made a name for herself as the best thief in the land. Kitty's fame as an outlaw was only eclipsed by one other, who also happened to be a talking cat: Puss in Boots. As fate would have it, though, Kitty would cross paths with Puss in Boots when she got recruited by Puss' childhood friend, Humpty Dumpty, for the "Bean Stalk Adventure" and had her help him to recruit Puss. Kitty and Puss' relationship started off rocky, what with her ruining his attempt to steal the Magic Beans from Jack and Jill, and him hitting her on the head with a guitar, but over the course of the adventure Kitty and Puss would form a bond that turned romantic by the end.
    • Unfortunately, Kitty and Puss' relationship took a turn for the worst, with Kitty losing a great amount of trust in Puss in Boots, in an event between the two simply known as "Santa Coloma" and the outlaw felines didn't see each other since... Until they encountered each other again at the start of the "Wishing Star Adventure", in which both Kitty and Puss individually tried to steal the map to the Wishing Star from 'Big' Jack Horner, and were not too pleased to see each other again. But with Goldilocks, her Three Bears, and Jack Horner himself on their tail for the map, Kitty had no choice but to work with Puss and his new ally, Perrito, to reach the Wishing Star. Despite her intense distrust in the orange cat and his 'therapy dog', the journey through the Dark Forest rekindled Kitty's relationship with Puss and she formed a friendly bond with Perrito. After that adventure's end, Kitty, Puss, and Perrito became a proper trio under the name "Team Friendship" (Perrito's idea, not theirs) and set off for more adventures.
  • Kitty first visited the Pantheon when she was appointed as Puss' herald, right after the "Bean Stalk Adventure" became public knowledge. But since that was long after Santa Coloma, whereupon she wanted nothing to do with Puss in Boots, Kitty was neglectful at best as a herald. And though the two cats have now mended bridges with each other, Kitty still didn't feel content being a mere herald to Puss. After all, Kitty had been a famed outlaw long before meeting Puss, and long after, and is equal to him in skill and combat; why should she be a simple "helper" while he's a god? When Puss in Boots caught onto Kitty's dissatisfaction, he agreed with her feelings and they, along with Perrito, approached the Court of the Gods to ascend Kitty as a goddess. It didn't take long for the Court to find an available trope for Kitty as they took note of her uncanny ability to steal things in impossible ways, which she demonstrated with the bag of gold hidden within Puss' boots (again), and so Kitty was ascended as the Goddess of "Impossible Theft".
  • Very soon after ascending, Kitty decided to make a name for herself and especially live up to her trope by going on a crime-spree all over the Pantheon; stealing the prized possessions of heralds and gods of all ranks,

    Wex Major
"Wexcellent!"
Wex Major, Divine Wielder of the Agony Beam (The Great Champion)

Wex Major, with B'Angus on his shoulder
  • Intended House: ???
  • Lesser God(?)
  • Symbol: The 'Wild 9' logo
  • Theme Song: Gulag
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Portfolio: Totally Radical, Leader of 'Wild 9', The rumored "Great Champion" of the Andromeda Galaxy, The only person who can use 'The RIG', Teenage Hero, Captain Crash, Able to fight in free-fall, Fights by grabbing and tossing mooks into bottomless pits, spikes, grinders, man-eating plants, etc. or repeatedly smashing them against the ground until they fall apart
  • Domains: Agony, Technology, Space, 90's Slang
  • Heralds: B'Angus (with a silent 'B'), Volstagg, Pilfer, Nitro, Mac'Sheen, Crystal, Pokkit, Henry, and Boomer McTwist (his love interest)
  • Allies: Earthworm Jim
  • Enemies:
  • On good terms with: Jack Cayman
  • Wex Major was a human boy from Earth in the distant future who would end up traveling to the Andromeda Galaxy to find his parents, who had been kidnapped by Karn, the tyrannical ruler of Andromeda. Meeting eight other teenagers who had suffered from Karn's actions, Wex banded them together as 'Wild 9' and acted as the group's leader, using his charms and quick-wit to keep the ragtag team together, and they as a whole proved to be the one force capable of opposing Karn and his army. Fighting Karn's forces was especially helped by Wex becoming armed with 'The RIG', a powerful weapon crafted by the same race whom Karn was born from, and incidentally Wex is the only person capable of using the RIG, which got him branded as the 'Great Champion' by the citizens of Andromeda. After months of eluding traps, however, the Wild 9 would end up suffering their first major defeat when Karn learned the location of Wild 9's spaceship, the Trawler, and sent a squad of elite shock-troopers to ambush Wild 9. With Wex having been rendered unconscious by the first blast, the rest of the team didn't stand a chance and all except for Wex himself, B'Angus, and Pilfer (the Trawler's lunatic of a pilot) got apprehended and taken to separate planets of Andromeda. Not one to accept defeat, Wex went on a one-man rescue for each of the captured Wild 9 that ended with him fighting against Karn himself and winning, flying back to the Trawler with Boomer and his freed teammates. What happened to Wex and Wild 9 ever since is unknown, but it can be certain that they continue to fight to liberate Andromeda from Karn's forces and search for Wex's parents.
  • One day, Wex was riding around on his jetbike with B'Angus in an unexplored area of Andromeda only to end up crashing it again on what seemed to be another planet of the galaxy. However, as Wex searched around for a new jetbike to get off, he and B'Angus noticed that this planet was very unlike any of the others in Andromeda; it was not only completely free of Karn's influence, with no Karn minion in sight, but it was populated by all sorts of people: primarily humans, but plenty of animals, aliens, and other creatures both normal and weird. Realizing that most of these people were friendly, Wex asked around and learned that he didn't crash into any random planet of Andromeda but actually crashed into the Pantheon, having incidentally entered the realm during his jetbike ride. Wex was amazed to discover such a vast and wondrous place, and on being told of how people can ascend into the Pantheon as gods of varying ranks, Wex decided to get himself and Wild 9 ascended as well.
    • While waiting for his crew to arrive at his destination, Wex got confronted by a group of Karn's minions, who had seen the Wild 9 leader flying around on his jetbike and followed him into the Pantheon, intent on delivering him dead to their master. What followed was what many witnesses called a "massacre" as Wex wiped out those mooks by using the RIG to impale them on spikes, toss them into water (wherein they drowned), dunk them into lava, toss them into grinders, among other torturous deaths, with the final Karn mook finished off with Metronomic Man Mashing that shattered him to pieces. The sight of that "electro-lasso" painfully lifting poor shmucks into the air and being used for all sorts of creatively cruel torment immediately earned Wex an ascension as the "Divine Wielder of the Agony Beam", with the rest of Wild 9 joining him as his Heralds. "Wexcellent!" Wex cheered as he was granted godhood, and he vowed that he and his team will help the forces of Good in the Pantheon fight against the forces of Evil and Destruction, hoping that they'll return the favor by helping Wild 9 in saving Andromeda from Karn's oppression.
  • Naturally, Wex became a source of great interest to all tech enthusiasts in the Pantheon due to his RIG, with most of them wanting to know how the weapon worked and why it only works on Wex. And of course, the more evil tech geniuses want to obtain the RIG for themselves. Not wanting to let the latter possibility happen, Wex maintains a wary distance from those who share too much of an interest in the RIG, and warned the particularly evil ones that he wouldn't hesitate to do to them what he had done to Karn's minions.
  • Wex met with Earthworm Jim soon after ascending and the two immediately became great friends, owing to a strong sense of kinship as well as both being space-faring heroes from Earth who travel from planet-to-planet on jetbikes to fight some great evil force. Though Earthworm Jim's home galaxy is a great deal wackier than Andromeda, with a planet that is Hell in all but name, a planet of giant food, and a planet of paperwork, with Jim's foes being just as silly. And Jim finds Andromeda to be a darker and grittier galaxy with Karn making Queen-Slug-For-A-Butt look tame. Wex and Jim are also very intrigued by each other's iconic equipment, with Earthworm Jim wishing he could give the RIG a try while Wex wonders how Jim's super suit would affect him, if it could make a worm of all things into a superhero.

    Chaos (Aladdin
Chaos, God of Being Allergic to Routine (The Master Trickster, Master of Surprise, the Unpredictable)

  • Intended House: ???
  • Overdeity
  • Symbol: His necklace/collar.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Chaos Personified, Easily bored and seeks to entertain himself, Above Good and Evil, Omnipotent Reality Warper, Large Ham, Cats Are Snarkers, Affably Chaotic unless angered, Does NOT tolerate being given orders, The Chessmaster, Great Gazoo, The Dreaded
  • Domains: Chaos, Unpredictability, Fun, Anti-Routine
  • Heralds: Evil Aladdin and Evil Genie(?)
  • Allies: Discord, Cheshire Cat
  • On good terms with: Aladdin, Jasmine, The Genie, Abu, Iago
  • Enemies:
  • Disorder incarnate of Aladdin's world, Chaos is an all-powerful entity who prides himself on being unpredictable and is always out to cause mischief: to make mundane, boring situations fun and exciting. Even if said mischief results in people getting humiliated or hurt. Chaos was drawn to Aladdin's home of Agrabah when he paid the Evil Sorceress, Mirage, a visit to her domain and she attempted to trick the spirit of disorder into destroying the kingdom for her by convincing him that Agrabah was a boring place, which Chaos just had to "correct". Being the Master Trickster, however, Chaos saw through Mirage's trickery and decided to teach her a lesson by orchestrating events in Agrabah so Mirage would end up saving the city from destruction. Though Aladdin and friends had to endure Chaos' mischief in the process, with the blue cat creating an Evil Twin to both Aladdin and Genie for them to overcome. In the end, Chaos deemed Agrabah and Aladdin himself to be "exciting" enough for him and left to cause excitement elsewhere, but promised that he'd return should Aladdin become "boring".
  • Being a powerful god of his world, Chaos always had an awareness of the Pantheon but was too busy trying to liven up his universe to take a look at the Pantheon. One day, Chaos succeeded in making every part of his world "exciting" and with it decided to give the Pantheon a visit. After taking a full covert tour, Chaos initially thought the Pantheon to be a very interesting, un-boring realm that he could "vacation" in. However, the Unpredictable soon noticed that the Pantheon largely operated under a status quo; many deities doing the same things every day with little to no changes or suprises in their day to day lives. A very mundane, routine existence. Needless to say, Chaos decided that the Pantheon was in desperate need of his services and has stuck around for good, constantly on the search for mischief.
    • Unlike most deities, Chaos did not go through the normal ascension process by being appointed a title by the Court of the Gods or even a high ranked deity. Chaos just deemed himself part of the Pantheon and nothing more. After all, tropes are so predictable and cliched, and Chaos would only visit bureaucrats and law makers/enforcers that is the Court of the Gods to wreak chaos onto them. This breach of process angered the Court of the Gods, to say the least, and they attempted to kick Chaos out of the Pantheon but immediately experienced Chaos' wrath for daring to give him orders. Realizing the futility in fighting Chaos, letting alone kicking him out, the Court of the Gods had no choice but to accept Chaos' presence and gave him the official designation of "God of Allergic to Routine", given his disdain for the ordinary and habitual. Chaos was initially displeased at having a trope forced onto him, but he quickly took a liking to it since the trope is as unpredictable as he.
  • Chaos swiftly became known by all within the Pantheon as the blue cat would unexpectedly appear to many deities during their day-to-day life and upends it in some way or another. Those who frequently shop find their purchases shuffled around with others without notice, a hot and sunny day at the beach would suddenly become a blizzard, and business meetings would get interrupted by singing monkeys. Wherever Chaos goes, unpredictable nonsense follows. And possessing such incredible magic, very few deities can hope to defeat Chaos. It is simply fortunate that Chaos is not a malicious trickster, his brand of chaos being high-level pranks whose destructive effects get cleared up if not reversed eventually. Chaos aims to cause fun and excitement, and the fun and excitement of destruction has its limits. There's also no fun to be had with death, with some exceptions.
    • Indeed, unlike a great many "chaos embodiments" in the Pantheon, Chaos isn't 'Evil'. Highly dangerous and unpredictable, but Chaos considers 'Evil' to be boring and loves to mess with evil-aligned deities who are particularly obsessed with their evil plans. Though Chaos also considers 'Good' to be boring, with a particular dislike for heroes who "always win". For Chaos, his alignment is simply "interesting vs. boring", and hence he's as heroic or as villainous depending on which is more entertaining. Of course, as far as the Pantheon's concerned, Chaos is 'Chaotic Neutral' of the most hedonistic variety, with special emphasis on 'Chaotic'.
  • Soon after "ascending", Chaos got reacquainted with Aladdin, Jasmine, the Genie, Abu, and Iago, who were all very surprised to see blue cat again: having never seen him since his visit to Agrabah. Though after the initial shock settled, their reactions to Chaos were a lot more varied. Aladdin was the "warmest" to Chaos, regarding him as a Friendly Rival of sorts. Jasmine was apprehensive at best with the blue cat, given how he ruined a diplomatic meeting in her palace and then shrunk her to the size of an ant for ordering him to leave. Genie and Abu were scared out of their wits by Chaos' arrival to the Pantheon, Genie especially as he knows (and experienced) firsthand the power Chaos possesses. And Iago was beyond pissed to see Chaos again, having never forgiven the entity for turning his head into that of a human and being the most troublesome nuisance Agrabah had to endure. Nonetheless, Chaos maintains cordial relations with Aladdin and friends since they continue to be interesting to him, and on the very rare occasion Chaos would actually lend a hand in any serious jam Aladdin finds himself in. Helps that many of Aladdin's enemies are the type whom Chaos deems boring, though the blue cat always makes sure to repay Aladdin with a "game" for helping, regardless if Aladdin wanted that help to begin with or not.
  • Chaos was thrilled to find a great many fellow chaos gods within the Pantheon as he was finally among like-minded individuals as unpredictable and interesting as he was.

  • Domains: Music Genres, Goths, Rock, Environmentalism
  • Allies: Mystery Inc.,
  • Enemies: The Evil Entity
  • The Hex Girls are an all-girl rock band of "eco-goths" (emphasis on the goth) who met with Mystery Inc. when the gang traveled to the trio's hometown of Oakhaven at the invitation of famed horror author, Ben Ravencroft, whereupon the "meddling kids" had to solve the mystery of Ben's ancestor, Sarah Ravencroft, terrorizing the town as a ghost witch. The Hex Girls were one of the initial suspects due to their seeming use of magic, but in the end the Hex Girls would help Mystery Inc. figure out and defeat the true culprits. Ever since then, the Hex Girls would become recurring allies to Mystery Inc., meeting with the group again in Australia and Transylvania, and even appearing in the Mystery Incorporated universe, providing no small amount of help to the gang each time.
  • The Hex Girls ascended into the Pantheon when they were invited to perform in the Pantheon's music festival, at the recommendation of Mystery Inc. The Hex Girls proved so popular with the festival crowd that when the band had to return home after its end, the Court of the Gods became swarmed with cries for their ascension. The Court struggled a bit in finding a trope for the Hex Girls, as the most relevant ones were either occupied or reserved, but they managed to find a vacant trope that suited the band in "Music Genre Dissonance", as the Hex Girls' discography is primarily Alternative Rock as opposed to Goth Rock as their name and theme implies. And despite calling themselves "eco-goths", the Hex Girls only have one nature-themed song. While the Hex Girls aren't the most satisfied with their given trope, they were overjoyed to join their friends in the Pantheon and getting to perform in the biggest and most fun place ever.
  • It goes without saying that the Hex Girls and Mystery Inc. are the closest of allies, and while the goth band would rather focus on their music and tours, they're happy to lend a hand to their mystery-solving friends. Especially as Mystery Inc. have been of great help to the Hex Girls in stopping so many threats to their music careers. Thorn, Dusk, and Luna generally assist the gang by providing emotional support or lending their expertise as musicians, such as identifying music notes to reveal an important clue. The latter of which proved crucial for the Mystery Inc. of Crystal Cove near the end of their overarching mystery. And in being a rock band, the Hex Girls can also serve as bait for any monster menace the gang are after, usually with one of Mystery Inc. playing along with the girls to help catch the culprit. Certainly helps that each member of Mystery Inc. are actually pretty darn good at playing instruments, with Daphne standing out as a great vocalist.

  • Domains: Dreams, Madness, Memes, Youkai
  • Allies*: The House of Madness and Insanity, The House of Japanese Spirits and most Youkai deities, The Joker, Bill Cipher
  • Enemies*: The entire House of Dreams and Nightmares, Every deity who values their sanity really
  • Conflicting Opinion From: Discord
  • Subject of Interest From: The SCP Foundation
  • The dream of a schizophrenic mental patient with megalomania, the Parade is a literal manifestation of insanity that would end up being let loose into the dreams of other people by the thieves of the DC Mini, a device that allows people to enter and record dreams, the dream terrorists using the parade as a weapon to destabilize the dream world for them to take it over. As it wandered the dream world, the Parade Dream would infect all who thought or dreamt of it with gibbering, megalomaniacal madness that would cause more than a few people to toss themselves off of buildings or out of windows, threatening both the Dream World and the Real World. Fortunately, before the Parade Dream could cause any more damage, the mastermind behind the DC Mini theft was defeated by Paprika, the dream avatar of Dr. Atsuko Chiba, who then ended the mad dream once and for all.
  • The Parade Dream first came to the Pantheon when it manifested within the House of Dreams and Nightmares one night, completely out of the blue. As the deities of the house tried to figure out the what, where, how, and why of this bizarre parade, the dream had already exposed itself to every denizen of Dreams and Nightmares (many drawn to it by the parade music), infecting them with its madness and causing the particularly weak-willed to join the parade, transforming into one of the many oddities that comprise it. As it began to advance into the rest of the House of Mentalism, the deities who managed to resist or overcome the Parade Dream's insanity-inducing influence realized the danger it posed to the entire mental plane. And so, before the Parade Dream could make it to the rest of the Pantheon, both Dream deities and Nightmare deities joined forces to deal with the memetic virus, with the strong-willed deities all over the Pantheon quickly coming to their aid. Fortunately for everyone, the Parade Dream had been prevented from spreading its madness to all of the House of Mentalism, and those who had been afflicted had their insanity cured. But the Parade had made its mark on the Pantheon, and so even after it was cast out, the dream would just appear within the Pantheon again via the minds of those who dreamt or thought of it and threaten to destabilize all dreams again. In an effort to try and contain the infectious dream for good, Dream of the Endless personally ascended the Parade Dream as the Manifestation of the Brown Note itself, taking note of the extreme effect exposure to the parade had on everyone, and then designed it a temple so massive that it would be marching for years before it could possibly reach the temple's exit.
    • Said temple takes the form of an immense desert that would be a death sentence for anything to get stuck in. But as a dream, the Parade requires no food or water to live and is unbothered by the harsh sand, heat, and light: just cheerily parading forward without care.
  • Indeed, the Brown Note effect of the Parade Dream is so strong that the only deities who can hope to resist being driven insane are most Overdeities (as they are cosmic entities that are themselves incomprehensible to mortal minds), those without minds to begin with, those who are already insane, and those with incredible Heroic Willpower. All other deities are warned to steer clear of the Parade Dream at all costs should they find themselves within its vicinity, shielding both eyes and ears so as to not lose their minds and join the parade, incidentally bolstering the dream's power.
  • It should be noted that, for as much as a danger it is for the dream realm and the real world, the Parade Dream isn't an intentionally malicious entity. The Parade itself has no real conscience nor sense of morality, it is just the product of an insane mind that was made to invade other minds. If not for the corruptive effect it has on people, the Parade Dream would be a harmless thing that marches around aimlessly, providing a joyful distraction to the areas it comes across. But alas, as an incarnation of insanity, the Parade Dream is a threat to all minds that all must avoid exposure to.
  • Unfortunately, not all deities have the common sense to recognize the Parade Dream for the danger that it is. For some, such as the House of Madness and Insanity, the Parade Dream is a source of fun and joy that they believe should be let loose to spread that madness. And for others, mainly the omnicidal deities, the Parade Dream is a tool to help them accomplish their goals. After all, it'd be much harder for any "heroes" to oppose their goals if their minds are plagued by severe insanity, and destabilizing the mental realm only adds to their desires.
    • The Joker is one of such deities who desires to free the Parade Dream from its temple and let it loose into the Pantheon, as a parade of random animals and objects that makes people gibberishly insane with a good chance of killing themselves is right up his alley. Certainly helps for the Clown Prince of Crime that he's one of the relative few immune to the dream's corruptive influence: already being megalomaniacaly insane. And on learning of how the Parade Dream made the people of Tokyo in its native world embody the worst "trends" of their society, the Joker became eager to bring the dream to Gotham City to see what that would look like. Batman does not want to find out, to say the least, and both he and the Justice League have chipped in with Dream of the Endless to keep the thing contained.
    • Bill Cipher is another entity immune to the Parade Dream's Brown Note, being from a dimension just as weird if not weirder than the dream, and also wishes to let the Parade roam freely across the multiverse as its effect on reality is not unlike Weirdmageddon, if a tad bit weaker. But for Bill Cipher, anything that destabilizes minds and reality itself is enough for him to have greater influence over is worth supporting.
  • To nobody's surprise, the SCP Foundation quickly pitched in to keep the Parade Dream contained, far away from the minds of every single person
    • Sasha Nein also expressed interest in studying the Parade Dream, believing that understanding the dream could advance his study of the mental plane tenfold. Though recalling his experience with the Psylerium in the Rhombus of Ruins, Sasha is collaborating with the top engineers of the Pantheon to create a device that would allow him to look at the dream without going mad.

  • Vayne Aurelius was just a 16-year-old boy with a Mysterious Past living in an abandoned house in the mountains, raised by his faithful companion Sulpher, when he was found one day by a professor of Al-Revis Academy, who invited Vayne to join the school of alchemy. Despite lacking social skills, Vayne quickly made his first human friend in Jess and both would be recruited by the Sophmore Flay for his workshop, dubbed "The Flay Cave", wherein they'd meet fellow Freshman Nikki. Over the next three years in Al-Revis, the Flay Cave would gain more members whom Vayne would bond with; all the while they as a group would explore vast dungeons for materials to perform alchemy and complete class assignments. And along the way, Vayne learns more about his past and exactly who he is.
  • The Flay Cave ascended to the Pantheon almost right after graduating from Al-Revis; the group just left the school grounds when a portal manifested in front of them. The Flay Cave thought the portal to be the entrance to a new dungeon filled with monsters to fight and new materials for alchemy, but upon entering found themselves instead in the Court of the Gods. Apparently, rumors about the Flay Cave's adventures and hijinks had spread to the Pantheon and the Court immediately took interest in the group. Noting how quickly the students and faculty of Al-Revis heard news and rumors of the Flay Cave, and that the group gained bonuses from having chosen rumors spread about themselves, the Court of the Gods decided that the Flay Cave were the perfect representatives for News Travels Fast and waited for the students of alchemy to graduate from their academy before ascending them. Vayne and the rest were surprised to say the least on learning all this but, after a moment of processing this news, the Flay Cave became excited at becoming "Gods", though Vayne had his doubts on account of the events just before graduation. But ever the pushover, Vayne went along with his friend's acceptance of ascension into the Pantheon and only hopes that this newfound godhood doesn't prove to be a danger to himself and them. The news of their ascension traveled instantly throughout the Pantheon and a rumor about the Flay Cave already started spreading; the alchemists have yet to figure out what exact benefit this rumor grants them, but remark that it makes them feel divine.
  • On being informed about how each deity in the Pantheon can have a custom-designed temple, the Flay Cave immediately knew that their temple was going to be designed after their namesake workshop from Al-Revis. The temple is a perfect replica of the workshop, though the temple version of the Flay Cave workshop was adjusted to be larger, more appropriate for post-graduate alchemists, and each member of the group added additional rooms and tweaks according to their preferences. For instance, Vayne's room resembles the house he and Sulpher resided in prior to arriving in Al-Revis; Pamela's room is completely decorated with things she finds cute, and Anna's is as neat and tidy as she likes it.
  • Applies to all of them
    • Thanks to the Pantheon learning of the Flay Cave's presence upon their ascension, the group were quickly approached by deities who took interest in them. The first of these deities are the heroic alchemists of the Fullmetal Alchemist world, who were happy to see more alchemists in the Pantheon. After introductions, the two groups of alchemists found themselves becoming good friends with each other. Though the alchemy of their respective universes differ in function and properties, the two groups of alchemists nonetheless like to get together and share their alchemy knowledge and train in combat.
      • When it comes to individual members of the Flay Cave with individual alchemists from FMA, Vayne, Jess, and Roxis get along most with the Elric Brothers and Van Hohenheim as the three are the most dedicated to the study of alchemy. Though Vayne mostly sticks around with Alphonse at Sulpher's insistence as the old cat finds Al's hallow armor to be comfortable to sleep in. Roxis also likes hanging out with Roy Mustang as the colonel's personality is most similar to his own, and is highly curious about Roy's unique "Flame Alchemy". Pamela loves being around Alphonse and May Chang as she considers the two adorable, and believes Al to be a fellow ghost who's possessing an empty suit of armor (much to Al's exasperation). Jess, Nikki, and Anna are also fond of May Chang: Jess, as both she and May Chang are the dedicated medics, of their group (and she thinks May and Xiao-Mei too cute to resist), Nikki for their mutual love of animals, and Anna as they both hail from their world's equivalent of East Asia and traveled West for knowledge, as well as being badass pre-teen girls. Flay admires Izumi and Armstrong's spirit and physical prowess, and both he and Anna actually enjoy Izumi's brutal teaching methods: Anna having experienced it from her father while Flay would employ that sort of teaching in the future. And Muppy views all of the FMA alchemists as foolish commoners, with May Chang being the only one he genuinely likes due to being a fellow royal (as dismal as her clan is).
    • Very shortly after meeting the heroic alchemists of FMA, the Flay Cave were confronted by Father and his homunculi; Father having learned about Vayne's "wish-granting power" alongside the news of his ascension and wanted to get that power for himself. Vayne and his friends explained that he gave up that power, and they destroyed the manifestation of that power, but their words fell on deaf ears and fought the homunculi alongside the FMA heroes, in which they proved victorious. Since then, the Flay Cave regard Father and his homunculi as enemies to avoid and have sworn to fight them should they attempt any future evil schemes.
      • Something the alchemist graduates noticed after the fight with Father and his Homunculi is that each of the latter was named and themed after the Seven Deadly Sins, but they counted only six. The Flay Cave were then told about Greed, how he is one of Father's homunculi who rebelled against him twice, and was crucial in Father's ultimate defeat. The group were surprised that something born of absolute greed would turn out heroic and have mad respects for Greed in that regard. Though, of the group, only Flay has any desire to befriend the homunculi, as the rest are too put-off by Greed's, well, greediness. Muppy in particular views Greed as a rival, as everything belongs to him.
      • After the battle with the homunculi, the Flay Cave were told about the evil alchemists of the FMA world by the Elric Brothers, Shou Tucker, Solf J. Kimblee, and the Gold-Toothed Doctor, and the group immediately felt hatred for the three. Nikki in particular wants to give Shou a feral thrashing with her beast-monster friends for the atrocities the man had committed on his wife, daughter, dog, and who-knows-how-many animals. And Jess thinks of Kimblee as a total creep who makes "explosive alchemy" look bad with the deaths and destructions he had caused, particularly in the War of Ishval, and thinks the man's sense of honor is a load of crap.
    • After the FMA deities, the next group to welcome the Flay Cave into the Pantheon were Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, who took interest in the alchemists for having been students of a magical school wherein they had to balance their academic studies with social activities, and deal with villains from time-to-time. The two groups like to converse about their respective school experiences, the things they had to do for classes, moments of fun, and getting into life-threatening peril. Finding commonality in each other's experiences, Vayne and Harry developed a close friendship and often get together to hone their respective skills and support each other when traumas from their past resurface. Likewise, Ron has found himself the (mostly unwilling) protege to Flay, who could sense Ron's insecurities and wants the Weasley to realize his true potential. And Hermione loves to get together with Jess and Roxis for alchemy studies, though preferring Jess' company more due to Roxis' standoffishness.
      • Through the Gryffindor trio, the Flay Cave met Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape, and Draco Malfoy. The alchemists respect McGonagall for being a tough but fair teacher, reminding them of Ernentraud Karnap, the Vice Principal of Al-Revis, in many ways. Though Flay often gets on Minerva's bad side due to his antics. Snape is controversial with the Flay Cave to say the least as he not only used his position as teacher to bully Harry Potter and other Hogwarts students, but his animosity towards Harry due to the actions of his father reminds the alchemists of Isolde Schelling, one of Al-Revis' teachers who hated Vayne out of revenge for Theofratus' death. The one consolation the Flay Cave can give Severus is that he hasn't attempted (nor succeeded) at killing any students. And the group doesn't know what to think of Malfoy; his behavior and actions in his youth reminds them all too much of Tony Eisler, Flay's archnemesis in Al-Revis who constantly tried to screw over the group (and complicit in trying to kill Vayne, under Isolde's orders). But the alchemists acknowledge that Draco has long since had a change of heart and trying to atone for his villainous youth. Nonetheless, Flay is keeping a sharp eye on Malfoy in case old habits resurface.
    • After their experience with Isolde Schelling, who actively tried to kill Vayne and even succeeded in killing one of the Flay Cave to provoke Vayne's power to revive them, the Flay Cave have no tolerance for teachers who harm students. To that end, the group have declared Agatha Trunchbull and Dolores Umbridge enemies whom they will fight should they lay a harmful hand on a student.
    • The Flay Cave are incidentally the bane of news reporters and town criers in the Pantheon, since their trope renders both occupations obsolete. While Pamela, Flay, and Muppy couldn't care less, the rest of the group acknowledges this as a problem and are trying to find a solution so they don't get unnecessary enemies.
  • Exclusive to Vayne
    • Sometime after ascending, Vayne was given the option to have his Mana abilities restored: allowing him to communicate with Sulpher again, morph him into a weapon, and use those dark and scary combat abilities. Vayne was hesitant at first since he gave up his Mana powers a short while ago, and the process in doing so was an actual world-threatening fight. But after some thought, with input from the rest of the Flay Cave, Vayne accepted the option so he can understand Sulpher again and have full combat capability. Though Vayne explicitly requested that the "wish-granting" part of his Mana power, as well as that power's manifestation in the form of "Other Vayne", does not get restored alongside the other abilities given how much trouble it caused him. Which the Pantheon wholeheartedly agreed with as there are many evil deities that would stop at nothing to abuse such power, as the Flay Cave experienced with Father and his homunculi.
      • Many deities who witness Vayne in battle remark what a different person he becomes in combat, turning from his polite pushover self into a determined fighter who can summon an infinite number of black blades from the ground, sometimes even shouting "I will destroy all!". That combined with the seemingly dark powers Vayne commands in battle and Sulpher's weaponized appearance (a massive black claw with a single red eye in the center of the back), caused quite a few would-be challengers to reconsider fighting Vayne.
    • Though he is no longer a wish-granting entity anymore, Vayne gets along well with most other benevolent wish-granting deities (former or otherwise) within the Pantheon. The first among them being the Genie of Agrabah, who used to be a wish-granter with "phenomenal cosmic power" but had to be bound to and live within a cramped lamp, and was more than happy to be freed of that burden even if it meant losing that cosmic power. Vayne was happy for the Genie to escape that uncomfortable fate and give up that great power to do so. And Genie commends Vayne for giving up his own powerful wish-granting ability even though it didn't bind his freedom, since such power is dangerous regardless: especially as Vayne was capable of granting wishes that even Genie couldn't do: killing others, and resurrecting the dead.
      • It goes without saying that Vayne has a low opinion of wish-granting deities who use their power for malicious purposes. Nor does he approve of "normal" deities who seek out wish-granting power, viewing them as endangering themselves and others in pursuit of a power they do not understand. As the ultimate corrupter of wishes, Vayne harbors the most ill will for Calypso, vowing to fight the demonic deity should he ever hurt his friends. And Vayne considers Jafar a complete fool who threw away his humanity for an ultimately worthless power. But Vayne doesn't feel too bad for the former vizier, considering what a vile human he was and the abuse he committed to the Genie.
    • While exploring the Pantheon for alchemy materials one day, Vayne came across Klonoa, who recognized the boy as one of his followers. After taking a moment to recall, Vayne recognized Klonoa in turn and quickly became good friends with the cat-rabbit boy. The two share a commonality in using their own allies as weapons (Sulpher for Vayne and Huepow or Lolo for Klonoa) and bond over their bittersweet fates, even if Vayne managed to be rid of his. The alchemist hopes that Klonoa will soon get to overcome the downsides of being the Dream Traveler and has promised to help him however he can.
    • Vayne was surprised to find that he was not the only deity within the Pantheon who could speak with a black cat before losing that ability, as he learned from other deities that Kiki went through the exact same thing. When the two met, Vayne and Kiki would get along as both grew up in rural and insular homes before moving to a big and populous place and discovering more about themselves from then on. The alchemist and witch also get amused by the Snark-to-Snark Combat Sulpher and Jiji engage in with each hangout.
  • Exclusive to Jess
    • When she was younger, Jessica fell gravely ill from a plague that swept through her village. Fortunately, the legendary alchemist, Theofratus, was close by and cured her of the disease. Unfortunately, a mistake in the curing process cut Jess' lifespan in half at the least, ensuring she would die young. Jess had long since come to terms with her fate, to the point of being apathetic to the concept of death, but Vayne and the rest of her friends intend on saving her from a shorter-than-average life. The deities who learn of Jessica's condition, and have the ability to deal with it, immediately lent their support in curing Jess of her cut lifespan. To say that Jess was tearfully grateful would be an Understatement.
      • Of the deities working to cure Jess' condition, Hohenheim is the most proactive of all as he not only wants the bright young alchemist to experience a full life, but wants to undo Theofratus' greatest mistake: viewing the man as a counterpart of sorts to himself since he too was a powerful and renowned alchemist with immortality (and both are named after Paracelsus). Hohenheim also thinks of curing Jess as his second chance for failing to be there for Trisha when she fell ill from a plague that would claim her life. Hohenheim had offered to fix Jess' lifespan by using his "Philosopher Stone alchemy" to increase it back to normal, but Jess declined that solution as she didn't want Hohenheim essentially sacrificing his own life for hers.
      • Jess tried to keep her condition a secret to all but a select few individuals within the Pantheon, not wanting others to worry about her. But owing to her and her team's trope, Jess' shortened lifespan wound up being learned by everyone within the Pantheon in record time, much to her annoyance. From her condition becoming news, though, Jess would be sought out by Mana Takamiya, who relates all too well with having had a shortened lifespan, and the two girls swiftly became good friends. Jess and Mana would then go on to start a support club for all deities who suffer, or suffered, from reduced lifespans. Which incidentally includes Edward Elric, who exchanged some of his lifespan to heal a mortal wound.
    • In spite of her being the Flay Cave's medic, Jess quickly garnered a bad reputation with the doctors and healers of the House of Health and Diseases for her "medicinal potions", which ranged from useless to downright harmful. Florence Nightingale herself offered to tutor Jess in the ways of medicine so her potions would be of actual use. However, Jess insists that she doesn't need help with her medicines and knows what she's doing, emphasizing that she graduated from the top alchemy school of her world. Florence can only shrug in disappointment and ask Vayne if he could talk sense into Jess, which he's tried to honor to no avail.
    • Conversely, Jess is well regarded by the good deities of the House of Explosives for her explosive experiments and in-depth knowledge of all kinds of bombs. Jess often gets commissioned by the house to create alchemical bombs, which she enjoys as a lucrative gig.
    • Jess gets along great with Amy Rose, a fellow pink-haired (er, furred) Genki Girl who also has the talent of pulling massive things from tiny spaces. Though even Amy is bewildered by Jess' bag, believing it to be the product of magic in order to contain items of such massive amounts and sizes, such as swordfishes and bathtubs.
  • Exclusive to Nikki
    • As a beastmen, Nikki has a deeper connection with animals than most deities and is even capable of calling upon the aid of beast-type monsters of her world, albeit after "converting" them with Heart Cracker/Heartful Action. It goes without saying that Nikki gets along great with beast deities, and fellow beast-taming deities, and can frequently be found in the House of Beasts and Fauna and most of its Sub-Houses.
    • Before even becoming pacted to the Mana of Trees, Nikki cared a great deal about trees; becoming absolutely furious with Tony, Renee, and Roxis (the latter working with them at the time) when Tony burned down an innocent tree just to deny the other students that tree's unique flowers (needed for a finals exam). Needless to say, Nikki gets along great with other deities who respect and care for plants, especially trees.
    • Whenever she's out and about throughout the Pantheon, Nikki will always flirt and tease at least one male deity (mainly humans) close in age to herself. Even if said male deity already has a lover in plain view of the beastgirl's flirting. Of course, Nikki can't help herself as her race suffer a low population if not decaying outright, and so she's instinctively driven to attract as many potential husbands as possible to make lots of children with them. While understanding of this predicament, the Pantheon had to impose a rule on Nikki to drastically cut back on the flirting and forbid her from the House of Love and Affection unless Vayne or any other member of the Flay Cave is present to restrain her instinct. Alas, Nikki was never one to follow all the rules.
    • When she's not playing in the House of Beasts and Fauna or flirting around the Pantheon, Nikki spends her time in the House of Singers and Performers singing to her heart's content. Just like in Al-Revis, Nikki garnered a sizable fanbase from her incredible singing, and fortunately only a really small portion are obsessive otakus whom Nikki can easily take on alone (unlike in Al-Revis). On learning about an Idol Singer turned actress who had a really bad experience with stalkers and Looney Fans, Mima Kirigoe, Nikki reached out to her and invited Mima to some duets: promising to beat down anyone who would harass her.
    • Back in Al-Revis, Nikki was the only one in the school and her workshop who doesn't fall for Muppy's facade, seeing him for the suspicious alien that he is, and is exasperated that much of the Pantheon has also fallen for Muppy's story. From this, Nikki found an unexpected friend in Dib Membrane, who is also the only one of his world who sees through an alien's facade. On learning about Zim, Nikki declared him an enemy and would fight him alongside Dib should the Irken pull any schemes.
    • When she heard that there was another catgirl from an Academy of Adventure within the Pantheon, in the form of Blake Belladonna, Nikki immediately sought her out. Despite the two being mostly opposites in personality and combat styles, Nikki and Blake struck up a good friendship and regularly hang out in the House of Food. Nikki was mortified at how the beastmen of Blake's world, the Faunus, endure racism from their humans and feels all sorts of sorry for Blake on what happened with the White Fang and Adam Taurus. Though Blake is just glad Nikki doesn't suffer such prejudice from her world, aside from the scorn of jealous girlfriends, and hopes that the Beastmen will bounce back from their low population.
    • Through Jess, Nikki met and befriended Amy Rose; the two bonding over their shared excitability, proficiency with hammers, and being motivated by "love". Nikki had lent her support for Amy to get together with Sonic and roots for them otherwise.
  • Exclusive to Pamela
    • Having been unable to leave the grounds of Al-Revis Academy for over a century, lest she pass on, it was no surprise to the Flay Cave that Pamela would frequently wander around the Pantheon, exploring every single location the realm has to offer. It certainly helps for Pamela that very little threats within the Pantheon can actually harm her: being a ghost, she's completely unaffected by physical attacks and she'd shortly revive on being "killed", which is an unlikely prospect even with magic as Pamela has very high magic resistance. And the deities who decided to bully Pamela during her travels were quick to regret it as Teddy Bear would attack them with a flurry of furious slashes and slams, the possessed plush doing more damage depending on how hurt Pamela is.
      • Pamela came across Cream the Rabbit and Cheese the Chao during one of her travels in the Pantheon and immediately fell in love with the rabbit girl and chao (whom Pamela believes to be a Mana) for their incredible cuteness. Cream and Cheese were at first terrified by Pamela, given she's a ghost, and even after Pamela proved herself harmless it took the two a while to really warm up to her; Cream being put off by Pamela's manipulative and selfish tendencies (and love of scaring people). But ever the friendly rabbit that she is, Cream accepted Pamela as a friend and the girls especially bonded over their mutual love of wandering and exploring. And indeed, Pamela had become one of Cream's most frequent traveling partner within the Pantheon. Pamela only wishes that Cream would stop calling her "Miss Pamela", instead of just "Pamela", not liking the formality.
    • Already friends with many of the Undead monsters in Al-Revis, Pamela naturally gets along well with most Undead deities: especially fellow ghosts. To her dismay, though, much of the undead within the Pantheon are truly monstrous if not evil things, which makes the good and even neutral undead deities extra valuable to Pamela. The closest among them being Yuyuko and Casper, both being fellow ghost children who are adorable in Pamela's eyes. Though of the two, Pamela gets along most with Yuyuko since she has comparatively little issue with Pamela's scaring people than Casper.
    • Pamela heard about a green-clad plumber who sometimes deals in ghosts one day and thought him interesting enough to meet. On finding the green plumber, Luigi, Pamela immediately became endeared to him for his Adorkable qualities. Luigi can't help but be scared stiff by the ghost girl and her possessed teddy bear but he's steadily getting accustomed to her, with no small help from the Flay Cave (particularly Roxis). However, Luigi's fearfulness has also made him the target of Pamela's playful scaring.
    • Pamela is really fascinated with Danny Phantom, who is a still-living boy yet is able to become a ghost and devotes himself to fighting evil ghosts. And indeed, Pamela first encountered Danny when he confronted her after a particular scaring spree. A fight between the two ensued but thankfully the Flay Cave intervened before things could escalate further and defused the situation. Pamela, impressed by Danny's fighting and finding his dorky qualities adorable, promised not to scare deities too much again and has offered to help Danny against any ghosts more troublesome than her.
    • Some deities question what Pamela considers "not cute" with regards to her dislikes, since cuteness is a highly subjective term and there are plenty deities that can be considered "not cute". Making matters more confusing is that Pamela is friends with many undead horrors from Al-Revis, while considering the more conventionally adorable Muppy (if more in appearance than personality) "not cute". For what it's worth, Pamela only really regards evil deities who are truly ugly as enemies worth hating.
      • Among such deities is Yubaba, who may have her virtues but is overall a cruel witch with a massive head as ugly as her greed. The fact that Yubaba literally enslaves spirits and does so by stealing their names, a fundamental part of one's identity, makes Pamela want to haunt the crone's bath house with her ghost friends.
  • Exclusive to Flay
    • The namesake of the workshop, and technically its leader (if not for his laziness forcing Vayne to pick up the slack). Back in Al-Revis, Flay fancied himself a superhero who would often masquerade as the "Defender of Justice", protecting innocent students from bullies and the "Peons of Evil", among other forms of villain. After some "heroic adventures" with Vayne, though, Flay came to the conclusion that heroes need evil to exist lest heroes become irrelevant and thus decided to become a diabolical dictator, the "Flayvor of Evil"! After graduating from Al-Revis, Flay would've continued with his newfound evil ambition. But on having an additional home in the Pantheon, where there's no shortage of evil and villainy, Flay decided to resume his heroic persona and fight for justice within the Pantheon.
    • To that end, Flay wasted no time in joining forces with the many heroes of the Pantheon, starting with Raiden since he's the God Motivated by Justice. Flay doesn't even mind Raiden's Superpowered Evil Side, Jack the Ripper, as he believes all heroes have inner darkness and Raiden at least channels his to fight against evil. Raiden doesn't know what to think of Flay aside from being a loud buffoon but is impressed with his strength and gadgets, especially his ability to infuse himself with electricity coincidentally named the "Raiden Charge".
  • With regards to many other superhero deities, Flay himself gets along with all but the most anti-heroic of them. Though whether they get along with him varies by the individual. Superman and Captain America, for instance, admire Flay's strength and heroic spirit but look down on his mischievousness and laziness. But heroes like Spider-Man (Peter Parker) and Deadpool view Flay as a fun pal to work with, even if Peter for one thinks Flay could stand to be more responsible.
    • By that same token, Flay harbors nothing but hatred for all supervillains within the Pantheon, giving only special exceptions to the most harmless ones. Or those whose villainy are fueled by desperation and tragedy, such is the case for Mr. Freeze.
    • Flay caught the attention of Team Dai-Gurren when they learned that he could turn his mechsword into increasingly large and powerful drills, which is among his most damaging abilities. After their first meeting, Flay became an honorary member of Dai-Gurren thanks to his intense passion making him a great source of Spiral Energy. Flay and Kamina viewing each other as kindred spirits, and Flay likes to think of himself as a second big brother figure to Simon and the younger members of Dai-Gurren. When introduced to the Gunmen and their combining capabilities, Flay became curious of what would happen if he were to combine a Gunmen of Lagaan's caliber with the Mana of Gold... Said Mana made it clear he does not intend to help Flay find out and threatened to kill anyone who'd dare try.
  • Exclusive to Roxis
    • Roxis hails from a prestigious family famous for producing accomplished alchemists in his world. However, the Rosenkrantz family failed to produce a decent alchemist in over a century, with Roxis himself being the first to have any great potential. To make ends meet before then, Roxis' father played cards for a living. And from him, Roxis gained an aptitude for dueling; wielding magic cards in combat via flinging them at enemies, using them as whips, and even using them to reflect laser beams. As one of the most famous Death Dealers in the Pantheon, Gambit approached Roxis about being dueling partners and the alchemist accepted.
  • Exclusive to Anna
    • Anna became acquainted with the Xiaolin Dragons when they happened upon her in the middle of combat training, in which Anna was slicing open portals, and thought that she had the Golden Tiger Claws. Anna was very nearly about to attack the monks in self-defense on seeing them charging at her, but thankfully the Xiaolin Dragons realized that Anna didn't have a Shen Gong Wu on her person. After things were cleared up, Anna became intrigued with the Xiaolin Dragons and their ability to control the elements without a Mana, and the many Shen Gong Wu that they use. Likewise, the Xiaolin Dragons are curious about Anna's reality-slicing katana and alchemy, and invited her to spar with them so they could all hone their abilities. Of the four, Anna gets along most with Omi as both are highly disciplined kids who are nonetheless emotionally immature, and are the youngest of their respective groups. Helps that Omi tones down his ego and sexism around Anna as even he knows not to get on the bad side of a girl with a long katana, knows how to wield it, and doesn't hesitate to cut down her foes.
    • One thing Anna loves about the Pantheon is that there are plenty of badass girls aside from herself, whom she was sure to relate most with compared to her much older teammates. The first of such goddesses Anna reached out to was Toph Beifong, due to the young Earthbender's stellar reputation among the deities who know her. Though after their sparring match to learn about each other, Anna just couldn't tolerate Toph's boorish and unkempt attitude, thinking her as worse than Flay in terms of mannerisms. Meanwhile, Toph thinks Anna is an unbearable Neat Freak with a poor grasp of reality. Yet the two respect each other's strength and skills and have agreed to continue sparring every now and then, with the tenuous promise to not actually kill each other during these matches.
  • Exclusive to Muppy
    • Muppy is a source of intense intrigue for the House of Science because his species' biology is among the most bizarre: having a fluid other than blood flowing within, his weight ranging from 0 to 550 tons through a gravitational device, and his height stretching and shrinking with humidity. Muppy's "pompom" also makes him self-destruct in a way that doesn't even kill him, and he is able to spontaneously spawn two-hundred and fifty-six children; said children starting off as 98% air in brainless shells and can be popped like balloons with no moral compunctions. Even some of the other aliens of the Pantheon want to dissect Muppy just to figure out his physiology, which prompted Muppy to start attacking anyone near him (aside from his teammates) in order to protect himself. The Pantheon very quickly enforced a restraining order to all would-be dissecters from being in the same general location as Muppy to make the alien prince ease up on the firepower, though he is still very wary of other deities outside of his friends.
      • Though one deity has managed to earn Muppy's trust in order to study his biology: Captain Olimar. Having been able to catalog the biology of PNF-404's many creatures through mere observation, Olimar has no need to dissect Muppy to study his biology. And Olimar's diminutive size makes the Hocotatian a non-threat in Muppy's eyes. The two aliens also found common ground in that both got stranded on a distant planet and depended on the native denizens to fix their ship, even if Muppy refuses to admit he needed help with his own ship repairs. Olimar is also curious about Muppy's "pompom", making him believe that his species has a very distant relation with the Pikmin.
    • As the sole alien in a group of humans who are often left out of activities and possess bizarre biologies, Muppy found himself getting along with Dr. Zoidberg. While Muppy is still deciding if the crustaceous alien is worthy of being his friend, the two can occasionally be seen together talking about their race's cultures and customs as well as whatever shenanigans their teammates have gotten themselves into. Zoidberg for his part is just glad that someone is willing to talk with him, and not just out of pity.

Planned Proposals/Ideas

Past Ascensions:

    Ned Needlemeyer
Ned Needlemeyer, God of Anxiety Dreams
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ned_needlemeyer_1.png
  • Quasideity
  • Symbol: A spiraling vortex with a silhouette of Ned's head in the center
  • Theme Song: Nightmare Ned Main Theme
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Adorkable, Suffers bad dreams due to anxiousness, Attacks foes with a yoyo, God who has to confront his fears, Kid Hero, Possesses an incredible imagination, Nerd Glasses, Nerdy Nasalness, Nervous Wreck, Charlie Brown Baldness

  • High Priest: Thomas
  • Allies: Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dream of the Endless, Princess Luna, Ysera, Ni GHTS, Razputin Aquato, Mickey Mouse, Jimmy Neutron, Bridget, Wirt and Greg, Koichi Kimura
  • Enemies/Fears: Freddy Krueger, Wizeman, Pitch Black, Nightmare (Kirby), The Perfect Trumpet Thingy, Vaermina, Bill Cipher, Dark Link, House of Undead and Phasmata, the Beast
  • Ned Needlemeyer is an average 10-year old boy with a hyperactive imagination. Unfortunately, this imagination is more of a curse than a blessing for the boy as he's also incredibly high-strung, which combines with the massive imagination to result in chronic lucid nightmares that always end on a bad note. And though they can leave a negative impact on Ned, they can also have a positive impact on him. Most noteworthy of all being when Ned was subjected to five separate yet connected nightmares at once by the "Shadow Creatures" and not only braved through each nightmare but overcame the fears those nightmares represented, waking up more courageous than ever.
  • Ned ascended to the Pantheon when the Court of the Gods took notice of his constant nightmares and, noticing that his bad dreams were the result of severe anxiety, deemed Ned Needlemeyer to be the perfect candidate for Anxiety Dreams.
    • He was freaked out to say the least to find himself summoned to a plane of existence wherein all fictional beings are real, and many of them could reduce him to dust at the blink of an eye. But Ned was soon comforted upon learning that most members of the Pantheon are good and became flattered at having been accepted into the Pantheon alongside many heroes and admirable figures. Although he wishes that he hadn't been chosen for his anxiety-induced nightmares, especially as his given trope means that he'll be suffering horrid dreams all the more.
  • Ned's temple has two sides to it; the front side is that of his family's house: specifically when his family is absent, allowing the boy and any invited deities to snack on junk food and play video games. But the backside of the temple is that of the Quilt, a gigantic bed that acts as the crossroads to all of Ned's past nightmares, especially the ones conjured by the Shadow Creatures. Thanks to this, visiting deities are able to experience Ned's nightmares for themselves and the most daring of them have even made a game of braving those nightmares the fastest. Ned doesn't understand why anyone would willingly enter his nightmares but doesn't object to these visitations. After all, those courageous deities might provide some much-needed inspiration for him.
  • Became fast friends with Courage the Cowardly Dog, since they're both nervous wrecks who endure intense frights on an almost constant basis and are the butts of every joke in their respective worlds. They both also like to play yo-yo, and the two can often be seen exchanging yo-yo tricks.
  • Upon learning of the Pantheon's official God of Killer Yoyo, Bridget, Ned immediately sought him out to improve his "yoyo combat" with which to more easily overcome his nightmares. Bridget happily took the fellow yoyo-slinging boy up in this regard.
  • He gained the interest of Razputin Aquato when the psychic found out about Ned's chronic nightmares. As per the Psychonaut's agenda, Raz sought out to cure the boy of his horrifying dreams, which Ned couldn't be more welcoming of. Raz expected his curing of Ned's nightmares to be a cinch since he had cured longtime mental issues of many individuals in a single night. However, the young Psychonaut found Ned's anxiety dreams to be more difficult to heal than anticipated and would take a whole lot longer. But Raz isn't one to give up and vowed to keep on trying to save Ned from his nightmares no matter how long it takes, which Ned is forever grateful for.
    • Ned was also befriended by Jimmy Neutron for the same reason; the boy genius having been intrigued by Ned's constant anxiety-born dreams and, being the kind hero he can be, wanting to vanquish the many causes of those nightmares. Ned also reminds Jimmy a lot of his best friend, Carl Wheezer, both being neurotic nerds with massive round glasses, and Jimmy had even previously cured Carl of his own recurring nightmare. Although Ned is a great deal more intelligent than Carl and a lot less sickly.
  • Ned also gets along great with Wirt, being a fellow cowardly nerd whose anxiety resulted in him entering a surreal and often spooky world which may or may not have been a Dying Dream, even. The two were also antagonized by shadowy figures in the form of the "Shadow Creatures" and "The Beast", the latter of whom Ned is glad is not in the Pantheon (but now worries he may have jinxed everyone in saying so). Whenever Ned and Wirt hang out, they spend their times sharing tales of the nightmares and the Unknown respectively. For Ned, the Unknown reminds him quite a bit of his "Attic, Basement, and Beyond" nightmare, which even had its own "creepy woods" section.
    • In befriending Wirt, Ned almost automatically became a friend of Wirt's younger brother, Greg. Despite seemingly not sharing similar interests, Ned enjoys Greg's company all the same due to the boy's sheer friendliness and optimism, as well as being closer to his own age compared to the teenage Wirt.
    • As luck would have it, the Beast of the Unknown had since ascended into the Pantheon, and Ned had been severely regretting ever mentioning the possibility of his arrival. Not at all helped by the Beast implying that his ascension was Ned's fault in an attempt to get the boy to fall into despair. And indeed, Ned had become a favored target of the monster due to his anxieties. It's only thanks to the efforts of his friends keeping his hopes up that Ned hasn't become an Edelwood Tree.
  • Naturally preyed upon by nightmare-based deities and those who thrive off of fear, especially that of children. Freddy Krueger in particular came to favor Ned as a victim, given their respective positions, and unfortunately for Ned his yo-yo isn't effective enough a weapon to ward off the Avatar of Nightmares. Fortunately, though, Ned had received the protection of good dream deities and other protectors of children and has yet to receive any fatalities from Krueger or other nightmare deities. Although Ned hopes that, should he get attacked by any of them, the resulting harm is bloodless and recoverable, like in most of his own nightmares.
  • Even though he overcame the Shadow Creatures who turned out to be the frightening manifestations of friendly people (and an item) in his life, Ned is still wary of Living Shadows. On account of being the God of Living Shadows and a truly hostile entity, Ned stays far away from Dark Link.
    • Likewise, though Ned had conquered his fear of death or rather his grandfather dying, the House of Undeath reminds him of the horrors of the Graveyard Nightmare, with some of its residents exceeding the graveyard's Ghoul in freaky appearance, and steers clear of the place.
    • In response to Ned's wariness and fear of shadows and darkness, the boy was approached by Koichi Kimura, who embodied The Sacred Darkness and sought to show Ned that darkness and shadows weren't inherently evil, nor things to be avoided and feared. Being the Nervous Wreck that he is, Ned has yet to be enlightened. Nonetheless, he does find Koichi's words enlightening and considers him an ally.
  • When he first met Mickey Mouse in the Pantheon, Ned recalled shaking hands with a larger version of the mouse in his "Attic, Basement, and Beyond" nightmare and told him of this. Mickey was amused by this revelation of Ned's and gave the boy a real shake from the mouse. Upon shaking hands, though, Mickey suddenly felt he that he actually knew of Ned long before and somehow forgot...

    Gin, Hana, and Miyuki
Gin, Hana, and Miyuki, Holy Trio of Christmas Miracles
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tokyo_godfathers.png
From left to right: Hana, Miyuki (holding Baby Kiyoko), and Gin
  • Quasideities
  • Symbol: A snow-covered Tokyo Tower.
  • Theme Music: Tokyo Godfathers
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (all three)
  • Portfolio: Homeless heroes, Dysfunctional Family, Cannot Go Home Again
  • Domains: Poverty, Celebration, Luck, Family
  • Herald: Kiyoko (the baby), Other Kiyoko (Gin's daughter), Hana's "Mother", and Angel (Miyuki's cat)
  • Allies: Santa Claus, Nicholas Saint North, Mima Kirigoe, Chester A. Bum, the Heroic Protectors of Family, Sei and Stella
  • Enemies: The Child Abuse Supporters, Shou Tucker, those who abuse the homeless, child kidnappers
  • On friendly terms: Most Yakuza deities
  • Disliked by: Most father deities (Gin)
  • A middle-aged alcoholic man who's rude yet caring, an older male-to-female transsexual with a love for singing and haikus, and a cat-loving snarky teenage girl. Gin, Hana, and Miyuki were just one of the many homeless of Tokyo doing what they could to keep themselves fed on Christmas Eve night when they came across an abandoned newborn girl while digging through trash. Naming the baby Kiyoko, Gin, Hana, and Miyuki traveled across Tokyo in search of her parents; many antics ensued, but the three bums succeeded in their endeavor to reunite Kiyoko with her parents, with no small amount of help from luck that borders on divine miracles.
  • Ascended to the Pantheon at the behest of Santa Claus, who witnessed Gin, Hana, and Miyuki's incredibly good deed of returning Kiyoko to her parents on the holiest of nights and wanting to reward them in kind. Noting the amazing streaks of good luck the three experienced during the holiday, which not only helped them on their quest but also reunited the three with their estranged families and got them out of poverty with a winning lotto ticket, Saint Nick deemed Gin, Hana, and Miyuki the perfect fit for the Christmas Miracle trope.
    • Gin, Hana, and Miyuki were initially weirded out to be in a separate plane of existence in which many fictional characters were real. But after some adjusting, the three came to enjoy their ascension, especially after learning the reason why, and are forever grateful of Saint Nick for recognizing their heroic act.
  • True to their trope, Gin, Hana, and Miyuki experience all sorts of good luck and miracles come the Christmas season. This effect of theirs evidently doubled with Baby Kiyoko, their shared Herald ( And godchild), in tow. Gin is often tempted to use this Christmas-fueled good luck to play the lottery, but a disciplinary smack from Hana is enough to knock away that temptation, followed by a lecture on not going back to his gambling ways. And indeed, Hana is not one to try to capitalize on the Christmas miracles the three experience, not wanting to take advantage of what she deems as God's blessing for their guardianship of Kiyoko for selfish purposes, and keeps the other two from attempting to do so.
    • Doesn't stop a lot of unwelcome company from trying to force themselves into Gin, Hana, and Miyuki's ensemble during Christmas time in an attempt to profit off of their seasonal good fortune. If these intrusive people don't get chased away by Gin, then they're usually dealt with by other deities who respect the Tokyo godfather's boundaries. And if all else fails, the undesired company quickly learn that the trio's good Christmas fortune only applies to them, while outsiders who try to abuse it get the exact opposite luck.
  • Gin, Hana, and Miyuki's temple is that of the cardboard house they lived in, but modified by the cardboard specialists of the Pantheon to be a much roomier and cozier abode.
  • When they first came across Mima Kirigoe by pure chance, the trio felt and odd sense of kinship with the Idol Singer turned actress, which was very much reciprocated by her. Since then, Mima had become an unofficial family member to the Tokyo godfathers.
    • Of the three, Mima relates with Hana the most given that both used to professional singers, even if Hana simply performed in her Mother's Drag Queen Bar compared to Mima's former status as an Idol Singer. The two are often seen performing duets with each other.
    • On learning of the traumatic event in Mima's life that is the reason for her ascension and assigned trope, Gin, Hana, and Miyuki's protective instincts which they last felt when chasing after Sachiko went into overdrive and the three pledged to protect her from any pervs and stalkers.
  • The three are revered in the House of Family for their efforts in reuniting Kiyoko with her parents, as well as reuniting with their own estranged family, and being an example of a good family, if slightly dysfunctional. Hana in particular is considered an unofficial member of the Hall of Mothers.
    • Although, plenty of deities criticized Hana for her decision to try and raise Kiyoko on her own, despite being homeless, and then personally track down the baby's parents instead of immediately taking the abandoned newborn to the police, something Gin and Miyuki repeatedly urged to do when they first came across Kiyoko. Hana is quick to admit the irresponsibility of those actions, especially the former. And while she won't defend the latter decision, Hana explains that she seriously felt it better to find Kiyoko's parents and confront them about the abandonment of their offspring rather than risk putting Kiyoko through foster care as she had, Hana being an abandoned child herself. Hana also makes clear that, had she known that Kiyoko was stolen from her parents rather than abandoned by them, she would've brought the baby to the police straight away.
    • And on the other hand, the Hall of Fathers and most father deities harbor some dislike to Gin. For as much as he loves his daughter and was crucial in reuniting Kiyoko with her parents, he nonetheless made his family's life difficult with his addictions, abandoned them when his gambling debt got loan sharks on his tail, and even claimed his wife and daughter to be dead for a fabricated backstory. Gin accepts much of the dislike, acknowledging that he was a poor excuse of a father and husband, and still doesn't even forgive himself. Not even when Kiyoko (his biological daughter, not the abandoned baby) herself explicitly forgave him for his mistakes.
  • Being a former bicycle racer actually a bike merchant, and still a superb cyclist, Gin gets along great with bike-riding deities. In particular, he's good friends with Mumen Rider; with the homeless man inspired by Satoru's courage and heroism despite lacking superpowers and fighting ability, while Mumen Rider was impressed with Gin's determination, which enabled him to survive a brutal beat down by delinquents and be crucial in rescuing Kiyoko from her kidnapper.
  • Gin can often be seen in the Hall of Alcohol, partaking in any drinks he could afford. Though he's been trying to cut back on his drinking, becoming aware that his alcoholism is his Fatal Flaw.
  • Hana spends much of her time in the Hall of Singers and Performers, doing what she loves most. Isn’t quite as good as she was back in her days performing for her Mother's Drag Queen Bar, but manages to draw in a good crowd from her sheer passion.
    • Alas, she gets heckled by some troublemaking deities from time to time. Hana is able to be professional about it though and ignore them. Provided she isn't called "old man" or "old fart", in which case the provoking deity receives a swift and powerful kick to the jaw.
  • Hana managed to strike up an acquaintance with Izumi Curtis, having learned of the woman's desire to be a mother only to lose her first and only natural child. The former which Hana could relate all too well, wanting to be a mother herself but unable to conceive children, and deeply sympathetic with the latter as it reminds her of Sachiko, who kidnapped Kiyoko in desperation to fill the void her miscarriage left. Aside from those points, Hana admires Izumi for her intense strength and excellent teaching (as harsh as she can be) while Izumi is charmed by Hana's singing and haikus.
  • Being the massive cat lover that she is, it came to no surprise to Gin and Hana that Miyuki would be overwhelmed by the plethora of feline deities within the Pantheon. The Hall of Felines nearly banned Miyuki from their grounds after she invaded everyone's personal space. But after she apologized and promised to respect their space, Miyuki became the best of friends to all but the most hostile feline deities. It helped that she is fiercely protective of the cat deities, being quick to get violent at anyone who would so much as joke about harming a cat. Jerry and Tweety nearly learned the hard way how far Miyuki would go to defend cats, and it took Tom and Sylvester's intervention to stop the protective cat-lover.
    • Of course, Miyuki's love for cats isn't completely unconditional; she's aware that there are plenty of feline deities that are very much evil or at least villainous and doesn't extend her fierce protection to them. Katz in particular earned Miyuki's ire for being representative of evil felines, and thereby giving cats a bad name.
  • The three earned the gratitude of Yakuza deities for when they saved a Yakuza boss from getting crushed under his own car. The trio doesn't really know how to feel about this, especially Gin and Miyuki, given that the former became homeless in part because he owed a Yakuza lieutenant money and the latter's father is a cop. Miyuki is also on friendly terms with the wife of the hitman who attempted to assassinate the aforementioned Yakuza boss but successfully shot the lieutenant, making the situation even more awkward for her.
  • One day, the three were approached by Sei and Stella, who had heard about their tale of returning a newborn girl to her family and wanted to give the trio their utmost gratitude: Sei especially, who used to be a police paramedic and was nothing short of impressed of three homeless people managing to do her kind of work. The two girls soon became friends with Hana and Miyuki respectively, with Hana and Sei bonding over their shared love of music and singing while Miyuki can't help but want to be around the Cat-boomer Stella, not that she minds the teen's attention (provided she doesn't stab anyone over her).
    • With Gin, on the other hand, while Stella gets along with him A-OK and invites him along with trips to "Valhalla", Sei harbors intensely mixed feelings towards him due to his alcoholism reminding the woman of her father. Once Hana, Miyuki, and Gin's Kiyoko caught wind of this, they were quick to explain to Sei that, though Gin wasn't the greatest father, he was anything but an abusive parent; having loved his wife and daughter with all his might, wouldn't have dared to lay a harmful to either of them, and actually left them because he felt they would be better off with him out of his lives, due to his addictions interfering with their livelihood. After that, Sei felt bad for subconsciously comparing Gin to her awful father and apologized to him, to which Gin assured her that she didn't need to apologize. He is, after all, still trying to forgive himself for his poor fatherhood in the past.
  • Gin, Hana, and Miyuki are also present in the House of Luck and Fortune, in the Hall of Luckiness.

    Yubaba
Yubaba, the Goddess of Taking Away Names
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yubaba_1827_4.jpg
  • Greater Goddess
  • Symbol: A silhouette of her bathhouse

  • Conflicting Opinion: Chihiro
  • The owner of a bathhouse in the spirit world, Yubaba is a greedy and cruel witch who runs her business with an iron fist; working her employees tirelessly and having them bend over backward to satisfy the rich customers, and conducting some dirty work on the side. When Chihiro and her parents stumbled into the spirit world by accident, Yubaba transformed the girl's mother and father into pigs for eating food meant for the spirits, and was about to do the same to Chihiro until she requested to work under the witch in her bathhouse: something Yubaba had to accept as she had sworn an oath to take in anyone who asks for a job. Though proving to be a reasonable figure, aiding Chihiro in cleaning what was thought to be a "stink spirit", Yubaba was nonetheless an antagonistic figure who kept Chihiro captive in the spirit world and had gotten Haku, who had been crucial help to the girl in surviving the spirit world, mortally wounded by sending him to steal from her identical twin sister, Zeniba.
  • Yubaba ascended into the Pantheon soon after she had caught wind of the place; after personally investigating and seeing immense wealth potential in the Pantheon inhabitants, Yubaba requested the Court of the Gods to become an official goddess. Given her penchant for stealing the names of those under her employ to keep them under her service, it was decided that Yubaba would become the goddess of Take Away Their Name.
  • Immediately upon ascending, Yubaba had a second version of her bathhouse constructed within the Pantheon, which was made to be her official temple. The witch also uses it as a secondary home for her and her beloved son, Boh, whom she selected to be her herald.
  • True to her trope, Yubaba is very much intent on taking the names of others in the Pantheon to make them subservient to her, and had actually managed to do so to some unfortunate folks who decided to find work at her bathhouse. Very quickly, a warning was issued throughout the Pantheon to never sign a contract with Yubaba, among anything else that could allow the witch to steal one's name, lest they forever be her captive. This warning offended Yubaba to a degree, but at the same time she could find pride in it, as it established her as a figure not to be trifled with.
  • Was filled with mixed feelings on seeing Chihiro again within the Pantheon. On one hand, Yubaba is still sore over the human girl leaving the witch's employ, especially after causing costly damage to her bathhouse via letting No Face into the building without permission. Chihiro was also responsible for Haku, then Yubaba's unwilling right-hand man, remembering his true name, and thus was able to quit his "apprenticeship" with the hag, which Yubaba can never forgive. But on the other hand, Chihiro had kept Boh safe while he was a mouse, and did do an exemplary job with cleaning that river spirit. And Chihiro did agree to take the final test Yubaba arranged for her, which she passed fairly. Regardless of how she feels about the girl, Yubaba trusts Chihiro enough as a friend for Boh to tag along with outside the bathhouse, but refuses to acknowledge Chihiro by her true name but specifically by the name the witch gave her: Sen.
  • While she has mixed feelings for Chihiro, she absolutely hates No Face; even if his trespassing into her bathhouse was Chihiro's fault, the spirit nonetheless distracted all her workers from their jobs by offering them fake gold in exchange for expensive food, ate her workers, and caused costly damage to her property. Not to mention the whole "vomiting moment" that the witch has yet to live down.
  • Very soon after joining the Pantheon, Yubaba came across Baba Yaga and the two Fair Folk witches quickly became the best of friends due to their many commonalities. Baba Yaga, in many ways, reminds Yubaba of her estranged twin sister, Zeniba, who also lives a solitary life in a forest, but Baba Yaga's personality is closer to her own. Even if the Witch of the Woods is on the chaotic side of things compared to Yubaba's lawful manners. Although Yubaba is wary of Baba Yaga's baby-eating ways and keeps her away from Boh, just to be safe.
  • Relates with Mr. Krabs, as he too is the proprietor of a famous establishment who loves money, mistreats his employees, and is the loving parent of an oversized child. Helps that Yubaba isn't bothered by Mr. Krabs' lapses in morality, nor is he a disrespectful and smelly human. Though she does think he could stand to spare some expenses for the sake of Pearl, just as she does for Boh. Given the nature of her native world, though, Yubaba mistakes Mr. Krabs to be a "Crab Spirit" and always calls him as such.
    • In general, Yubaba tries to maintain friendly relations with fellow businessmen, if only so they would be more inclined to spend their money at her bathhouse. However, Yubaba has limits, and Conal Cochran is chief among those she wants no business with; his attempted mass-slaughter of countless children being too much even for her.
  • Having had his name stolen before and how much grief it caused him, Mario is naturally against Yubaba's name-stealing ways and is active in preventing the witch from taking any more names. She doesn't take kindly to this in the slightest and tries to fight off Mario whenever he interferes, but he's a much trickier foe than she allows herself to admit.
  • With her practice of enslaving other spirits to work in her bathhouse under cruel and exhausting conditions, Yubaba is one of the few individuals to gain the ire of Iroh. In spite of that, though, the witch finds herself being regularly visited by the Dragon of the West with his best tea in an effort to convince her to be less harsh: Iroh sympathizing with Yubaba's love and protectiveness of her son, and from that believing there is some inner generosity within the witch that can be brought out (but being smart enough to not allow her to take his name). His attempts have yet to work, but Yubaba does think of Iroh as one of the few "good humans".
  • Also one of the few deities Madame Foster, a fellow old lady who founded and manages a large building that houses countless wondrous entities, dislikes. And unlike Iroh, Madame Foster makes no attempt to reach out to any inner goodness of Yubaba, seeing her as nothing more than a greedy and cruel hag. Yubaba isn't bothered by the madame's judgement, although she does take offense to being criticized for her cruelty of her employees by the human elder; pointing out in retaliation that Ms. Foster has no room to talk when she allowed her own granddaughter to work like a slave under Mr. Herriman.
  • Yubaba finds Terrence Fletcher's abusiveness with his students too much even for her. As cruel as she is with her own employees, the witch tries to be a Reasonable Authority Figure and does reward exceptional work from a worker.
  • Given how much she loves her son and keeps him protected at all costs, Yubaba is absolutely disgusted with Dr. Sofia Lamb for her intentions of her own daughter. The witch is nothing short of eager to take Sofia's name, if only to punish her for terrible motherhood.
  • Is among the many deities who hates Lady Tremaine for her treatment of Cinderella. While acknowledging the number of people she overworks and treats cruelly, Yubaba is quick to point out that she reserves such treatment to her employees, composed of spirits and humans that have no familial relation to her. Tremaine, on the other hand, does such things to her own daughter. Step-daughter perhaps, but a daughter all the same. Yubaba is also unimpressed with how Tremaine got her wealth and status: marrying a nobleman. For all her vices, the witch achieved her fortune and high status by providing service to her fellow spirits (even if she makes others do all the actual work).
  • "What a pretty name… And it belongs to me now!"

  • Born to a German cobbler, Sasha got to only have a few small memories of his loving mother before she died of illness while he was an infant. Wanting to know more about her but his father too heartbroken to talk about his late wife, Sasha used his freshly developing psychic abilities to peer into the shoemaker's mind and learn of his mother through the man's memories. However, that would quickly prove to be a mistake as Sasha would witness a certain memory that disturbed the young man enough to run away from home and become emotionally withdrawn. Since then, though, Sasha would join the Psychonauts and not only become one of their scientists but also one of their top agents; going on all sorts of fantastic adventures alongside his Psychonaut partner, Milla Vodello.
  • Sasha first came to the Pantheon when he and Milla were invited by Raz, the young Psychonaut eager to show his idols/mentors around the realm and introduce them to his new friends. By the end of their little "tour", Sasha found himself very intrigued by the Pantheon and mused about formally joining the place alongside Raz. In immediate response, Razputin realized that the Pantheon had yet to have a representative for the Psi Blast and urged Sasha to become that trope's God, on account of Agent Nein being Raz's Psi Blast teacher and enabling him the use of the ability in the following two adventures they shared. As well as being the Psychonaut's Marksmanship specialist. Not one to turn down such an opportunity, Sasha approached the Court of the Gods about becoming the Psi Blast God and, with a swift demonstration of his marksmanship, earned the Court's approval.
  • The secret to Sasha's expertise in the Psi Blast is having complete control over his mind and emotions. In the Psychonauts world, the Psi Blast is the manifestation of raw negative emotions, namely the will to attack, and Sasha's sheer mental discipline allows him to controls those negative emotions and focus them exactly where he aims with the necessary force. Even Sasha's own mental world, the Shooting Gallery, takes the form of a perfect cube floating in a void that can spawn structures as needed.
  • Upon ascending, Sasha immediately established a third office/lab for himself within the Pantheon, which functions as his temple. There, Sasha performs all sorts of psychic science experiments, most of which done via the Brain Tumbler: a psychic device that allows access to the "Collective Unconscious", the shared portion of all psyches in the world. After a school trip in his home universe resulted in a louse infestation in his main Brain Tumbler, Sasha barrs all but trusted allies entry into his lab. When it comes to upkeep, Sasha's temple is in-between the Camp Whispering Rock Lab and his much cleaner Motherlobe office.
  • Whenever he's not in his lab, Sasha can always be found around the Pantheon in the company of his herald, Milla, and/or Razputin, his pupil within the Psychonauts. The three often hang around in the House of Mentalism and the House of PowersAndAbilities, as the two houses are the most psychically-inclined, but Sasha tries to experience all that the Pantheon has to offer.
    • Though Sasha absolutely refuses to so much as look at the Sub-Houses of Handwear and Footwear, Lustful Acts, and Lustful Behavior. The firstmost because the footwear portion brings to mind Sasha's cobbler father, whom he still has complicated feelings towards, and the latter two reminds Sasha of his accidental Dirty Mind-Reading of said father that he would really like to forget.
  • After setting up his temple in the Sub-House of Spiritual and Mental Powers, Sasha was greeted by J'onn J'onnz and Jean Grey, who were happy to see a new Psychic enter their domain. Sasha was immediately fascinated by the Martian Manhunter, being an alien enthusiast, and is impressed with J'onn's Telepathy. And Agent Nein relates all too well with Jean Grey, both being psychic agents who double as teachers (even if Sasha's teaching career is that of a counsler for a summer camp) and specialize in the projective skills of Psychic Powers.
  • Sasha harbors a low opinion of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, to say the least. While acknowledging the group as heroic people whose actions have had positive effects to their world, their M.O. is ultimately using their world's equivalent of the Collective Unconscious to brainwash other people. And as Agent Nein had put it to Raz after his accidental brainwashing of the Psychonauts' 'Second Head'; "You thought you could manipulate another person's mind, bending their will to your own. There are few things worse, Razputin". Only thing preventing Sasha from going after the crew as an official Psychonaut Agent is their good standing among many heroes within the Pantheon, Razputin included. But Sasha Nein keeps a wary eye on the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and has warned them that he will confront them should they overstep their boundaries. He also completely forbids them access to his Brain Tumbler.
    • Though one credit Sasha can give the Phantom Thieves of Hearts is that at least they commit their mind manipulating thefts for a genuinely good purpose; making truly evil people realize the error of their ways. Whereas the other mental thieves, the Inception Crew, effectively brainwash people for money, which has earned the crew Sasha's disgust. The only member of the group he doesn't outright hate is Adriadne, being a student who got recruited into the crew and tries to be ethical with her given role. Sasha was also impressed by Adriadne helping Cobb defeat his personal demon, Mal, and thinks she could make a good non-psychic Psychonaut had those criminals not already roped her in their affairs.
    • Overall, Sasha does not take kindly to any manipulators of minds and, with few exceptions, views all of them as enemies to be arrested under Psychonaut custody. This automatically placed the villains of the Sub-House of Mind Control in Sasha's shitlist, whom he has threatened to take action against should they start toying with other people's wills. And for the mentally manipulated members of the sub-house, Sasha expresses his sincerest sympathies for their plight (in his usual dry tone) and has offered them the aid of the Psychonauts in overcoming their mental tamperings.
  • Upon hearing that fellow Psychonaut associate and Whispering Rock Camp Counselor, Coach Morceau Oleander, was within the Pantheon, Sasha was quick to pay Morry a visit to his temple. Agent Nein was not surprised at all to see that Oleander is based within the House of Crime and Transgressions, under the Sub-House of Thieves, with the title of 'Brain Thief'. Much as Sasha has forgiven Morceau for his brain thievery and attempted takeover of the world, he's not living down that moment anytime soon and felt the title and house was appropriate, as much as Oleander himself laments it.
    • On the note of Brain Theft, Sasha has nothing but contempt for those who steal brains, having had to reclaim more than a few stolen brains throughout his time as a Psychonaut Agent (and fell victim to Brain Theft himself). Coach Oleander being the sole exception since his brain thievery was the result of a psychotic breakdown, for which he's genuinely remorseful. As well as being a friend and colleague for many years.
  • As a scientist of German ancestry, Sasha naturally gets along well with other good-aligned German scientists within the Pantheon. The first of them Sasha befriended being Dr. Abraham Erskine, whose Super Soldier Serum intrigues the Psychonaut. Agent Nein has since collaborated with Erskine to see if they can produce a variation of the serum for psychics.
  • Sasha first became acquainted with XCOM when he and Milla first checked out the House of Gaming, and a few XCOM soldiers confronted the man; having mistaken Nein for a Thin Man due to his tall and thin build, sunglasses, similar hairstyle, and his green skin. Luckily, before any of them could fire a plasma shot, Sasha was able to psi-blast their guns out of their hands, and in doing so wordlessly showed them that he was not a Thin Man, as those aliens are incapable of Psychic Powers. Impressed by Sasha's speed and accuracy with his psychic power, the superiors of XCOM asked if Agent Nein would be willing to help train their own Psionic Operatives (after issuing an apology on behalf of their soldiers), to which the Psychonaut agreed. Since that first training session, Sasha found himself becoming good friends of XCOM as a whole, viewing them as not so different from the Psychonauts as both are international organizations that employ psychics and protect humanity. Though Sasha is saddened that the Earth of XCOM had a very hostile first contact with aliens, and hopes that the extraterrestrials of his world prove much more peaceful (if they exist to begin with).
    • Among XCOM's individual staff, Sasha gets along most with Dr. Vahlen and Dr. Tygan as fellow scientists. Whenever he's visiting XCOM's base, Sasha will always stop by both doctor's labs and learn about the latest alien technology or biology they've researched, as well as the nature and functions of their world's Psychic Powers. In turn, Vahlen and Tygan are fascinated by Sasha being a naturally born psychic with acces to, and actively studies, the human mind. Neither XCOM scientist miss the chance to learn from Sasha about the psychics of Psychonauts and the nature of the mental world, and ponder how those can be applied to XCOM's benefit.
  • As the aforementioned hostile aliens who have committed countless atrocities in XCOM's world, both to Earth and many other alien species, ADVENT was placed into Sasha's shitlist as soon as he was told about them. Agent Nein is particularly disgusted by ADVENT's practice of necromancy through psionics, which is a pseudoscience in Sasha's world that he abhors. In the possible event that ADVENT attempts a takeover of the Pantheon, Sasha had formed a pact between the Psychonauts and XCOM to fight the coalition.
  • Sasha was quick to befriend the New Alliance of Free Stars, being a union between multiple alien civilizations and humanity, and likes to learn about each alien member's cultures. Though Sasha quickly became unnerved with the Arilou after learning of their "contributions" to the development of their world's humans (from direct interventions to untold numbers of isolated examinations/abductions) and since then keeps a wide berth from that species, and has installed measures in his world to prevent any alien meddling on his Earth. Much to the confusion and bafflement of his fellow Psychonauts.
  • Nein was perplexed to say the least when he first met an intelligent, talking pony named 'Maud Pie', who sought out the Psychonaut on hearing of a "psychic German man" who was as emotionally subdued and quiet as she. After conversing with the strange equine a bit, Sasha found himself becoming friends with Maud as both of them express little to no emotion, speak in dry tones, and most significantly both are frequently subjected to silly situations wherein their serious demeanors and deadpan manners of speaking provoke laughter. Sasha and Maude occasionally get together in their free time to discuss their work and interests, while Milla and Pinkie Pie party together. To onlookers, Sasha and Maude's meetings look like the most boring conversations around, but for them it's highly engaging.
  • Sasha was pleased to find another German, and a hardworking one at that, in the form of G36. The Psychonaut could not resist being fascinated with how human-like an android G36 is, to the point of having far-sightedness. As impractical such a condition is on an android that wields a gun, Sasha is impressed with the detail all the same and does not mind how G36's hyperopia makes her constantly squint in a way that resembles a Death Glare.
  • On learning about the Sumeragi Group's terrible experimentations on their world's equivalent of psychics, most of whom are children and teenagers, Sasha Nein gained an instant hatred for the organization and their "Swordsmen", with special focus on Nova due to being the leader of the Sumeragi Swordsmen and being committed to those cruel experiements despite being an Adept himself. Even while acknowledging Nova's genuine desire for peace between Adepts and humans, Sasha knows there are better ways of going about that than cold-blooded torture. Nova called Sasha a hypocrite on that front, as the Psychonaut had done experiements on the campers of Whispering Rock that left them traumatized, but Nein (with Milla and Raz backing him up) pointed out in retaliation that his own experiements were done with the consent of the kids and he halts those tests as soon as they become dangerous.
  • Of all the alien species within the Pantheon, Sasha finds the Gems to be among the most fascinating: being living and sapient gemstones with some of the most unique technology and culture. And among the Gems, Sasha gets along most with Garnet due to her stoicism, Cool Shades, and her Future Vision, which makes Sasha believe Garnet to be a fellow psychic. Agent Nein was especially intrigued on learning that Garnet is actually the physical and mental fusion of two lovers, and ponders what her mental world would look like, assuming Psycho-Portals work on Gemkind. On Garnet's end, she thinks Sasha and Milla make a great couple and subtly tries to push the two together.
  • As one of Whispering Rock Summer Camp's counselors, and a mentor for Psychonaut interns, Sasha is naturally protective of kids and looks to help Psychic Children reach their full potential. As a result, Sasha maintains good relations with Ness, Paula, Poo, and Lucas and trains them in the Psi Blast whenever he has the time. Of the four, Sasha looks out most for Lucas as he relates all too well with losing one's mother and being neglected by one's father, and hopes to help Lucas overcome all the other trauma he endured with his and Milla's training.

  • In the world of Lunatea, there were five kingdoms that each embody a state of the mind: La-Lakoosha, the Kingdom of Tranquility. Joilant, the Kingdom of Joy. Volk, the Kingdom of Discord. Mira-Mira, the Kingdom of Indecision. And Hyuponia, the Kingdom of Sorrow. However, while people could embrace if not desire tranquility, joy, discord, and indifference... Those who encounter sorrow would do their best to forget it, to pretend sorrow never existed. And ultimately, the Lunateans would do exactly that with Hyuponia; putting a veil over their eyes to ignore the Kingdom of Sorrow and then forgetting there was ever a fifth kingdom at all. This total rejection of sorrow would cause Hyuponia to be cut off from the rest of Lunatea, hidden away beneath the Sea of Tears, and the Kingdom of Sorrow's inhabitants would die out or abandon it with one strict exception: the King of Sorrow himself. King of Sorrow sought to have the people of Lunatea remember sorrow once more, to remember his kingdom and himself, and for them to accept himself and his kingdom back into the world. But years of being ignored and forgotten, isolated within the ruins of his kingdom, made King of Sorrow lose faith in Lunatea and decide to reject the world in return; devising a plan to bring the Kingdom of Sorrow back to Lunatea by force and then drowning the world with sorrow, which would have catastrophic consequences. And to set that plan into motion, King of Sorrow summoned the Dream Traveler, Klonoa, to Lunatea with a sincere plea for help, but Klonoa would not allow for Lunatea to be consumed by sorrow and ultimately he and King would battle each other in King's palace, with the Dream Traveler emerging the victor. But before King could succumb to his wounds, the sympathetic Klonoa rang the Bell of Sorrow, allowing for the Kingdom of Sorrow to return to Lunatea, and then promised the dying King that people won't run away from their sadness anymore: they will remember and accept sorrow.
  • Although the King of Sorrow was reborn as an infant in a newly harmonious Lunatea, he appeared in the Pantheon, within the House of Despondency, one day: exactly the same as he was before death. Confused as to where he was, how he got there, and why, King of Sorrow wandered around the House of Despondency until he was encountered by Korra, one of the Mediators of Grief, who noticed how lost King looked and not recognizing him as part of the Pantheon. After King of Sorrow told her that the last thing he remembered was dying, Korra realized what had happened and escorted King to the Court of the Gods, explaining along the way that he was in the Pantheon and most likely his spirit traveled to the realm in search of an afterlife and the Pantheon's properties restored King's body and memories. King of Sorrow was amazed that he got a second chance at life, in a very vast and diverse world, but became anxious when he and Korra arrived to the Court of the Gods and they tried to find a place for the Hyuponian. Fortunately, the newly ascended Klonoa arrived to the Court to take care of some paperwork and recognized the King of Sorrow. With the two being familiar with each other, the Court decided that King of Sorrow would act as Klonoa's Herald, which King did not oppose as he remembered Klonoa and how the Dream Traveler allowed Hyuponia to be remembered and accepted by Lunatea; which King of Sorrow is eternally grateful for.
    • Overtime, however, the King would end up feeling "useless" as Klonoa's Herald, not really accomplishing anything nor being able to provide Klonoa as much companionship as his past friends could. And once Klonoa decided to include said past friends: Huepow, Lolo, Popka, and Guntz as his Heralds, King of Sorrow felt like he would become an overlooked fifth wheel and fell into a depression. Feeling bad for King of Sorrow and not wanting him to feel ignored and forgotten again, Klonoa reached out to the Court of the Gods and asked about ascending King as a deity so they could be godly allies. To that end, the Court of the Gods examined the King of Sorrow's story, officially named "Lunatea's Veil", and took note of how the event is one big allegory for the repression of sadness: as Lunatea's rejection and forgetting of sorrow not only led to the destruction of Hyuponia and its inhabitants, and the King of Sorrow losing his sanity into a hateful lump of sorrow, but caused the other kingdoms of Lunatea to become increasingly isolated from one another; with Volk becoming a battleground for a neverending civil war and Mira-Mira rejecting all outsiders, both things that ceased once sorrow was returned to Lunatea. The confrontation with King of Sorrow also made Klonoa come to terms with his bittersweet role as the Dream Traveler, embracing the sadness of his duty and maturing as a person. With this, the King of Sorrow was deemed a good representative for the trope "It's Okay to Cry", albeit under the name "Accepting Sadness", which was what King of Sorrow wanted Lunatea to do. Once more, the King of Sorrow is eternally grateful to Klonoa as he was ascended to godhood.
  • King of Sorrow's temple is a replica of the Kingdom of Sorrow, with the King residing in a replica of his palace, the Terminus of Tears (sans the Bell of Sorrow, as the "kingdom bells" are only significant in Lunatea). A peculiar trait of this Hyuponia copy is that, in addition to its normal background music, deities will hear the music of their most emotional or nostalgic moments mixed in, just as Klonoa experienced during his journey through the ruins of the real Hyuponia. And indeed, King of Sorrow's temple often gets visitors as it became a recommended place for deities who seriously need to cry.
    • Even though he could have his temple essentially be the Kingdom of Sorrow before its ruination, King of Sorrow had the temple Hyuponia appear as the kingdom's ruins. When asked about it, King of Sorrow explained that as nice as it would be to essentially live in Hyuponia in its prime, he'd just be pointlessly dwelling in the past, and reflecting on memories is the Kingdom of Indecision's thing, not Sorrow's. King ultimately doesn't care how his temple looks so long he's not alone nor ostracized and the real Kingdom of Sorrow is faring well, which Lunatea is making sure of with the kingdom's reconstruction and with King of Sorrow's reborn-infant-self poised to become its leader. King also admits that the whole "kingdom ruins" aesthetic, combined with the music, is more appropriate for sorrow and certainly helps with getting the tears flowing for deities who need it.
  • Adding to the above decision, King of Sorrow feels that the House of Despondency as a whole is already like the Kingdom of Sorrow before its ruin, with its sad atmosphere but without the wrecked buildings and actually being populated. And since the House of Despondency was the place he arrived to the Pantheon in, King of Sorrow has a strong attachment to the place and its Sub-Houses and considers all but the most malicious and hostile deities in Despondency an ally.
    • Thanks to this strong attachment to the House of Despondency combined with his title, some deities believe King of Sorrow to be, well, king of the House of Despondency. Something which flatters King but he tries to discourage such misconceptions, not wanting to be seen as stepping on the toes of the Melancholia Matrons and the Mediators of Grief. Especially Korra, as King was thankful for her kindness and help when he first appeared in the Pantheon. Though King of Sorrow does try to provide kingly support to the inhabitants of the house, like any good royal should.
      • Ever since King of Sorrow's ascension, Nemo Moos have been appearing around the House of Despondency. According to King, they are a special type of Moo (a species of dream creatures from Klonoa's universe) that are an incredibly rare sight, rumored by Lunateans to appear when "sadness, despondency, and misery arises", so naturally the Nemo Moos are drawn to the House of Despondency. The Nemo Moos, despite being just as much enemies as all other types of Moos, are effectively harmless as they prefer to just float about minding their own business. Though they are volatile to touch, so caution is still advised around them. Only King of Sorrow is able to touch them without worry, having a level of command over them.
  • When it came to choosing a Herald, King of Sorrow was initially at a loss as he had been alone for so long. But Lolo (now one of Klonoa's heralds) recommended Leorina and her sidekick, Tat, for King as both sought to revive the Kingdom of Sorrow (albeit for the sake of power) and are now leading the reconstruction for the Kingdom of Sorrow back in Lunatea. Though King of Sorrow had his doubts Leorina would want to see him again since he more-or-less used Leorina as a pawn for his own goals, and King hasn't forgotten Leorina's calling him out over his self-pity and rejection of Lunatea, thinking that she still resents him for that. But with no other option, King went along with Lolo's suggestion anyway: expecting rejection from the Sky Pirate and Tat. Much to his surprise, Leorina and Tat immediately accepted becoming King's heralds and regard him as a friend, with Tat explaining on both their behalf that they knew King of Sorrow was not in a good mental state at the time and want to give him a second chance, just as they've been given a second chance by Klonoa, Lolo, and Popka. The two also wouldn't pass up the opportunity to experience a place like the Pantheon, with Leorina adding that somebody has to keep King of Sorrow in check. A small smile could be seen on King of Sorrow after their acceptance.
    • Though Leorina had reformed from being a power-hungry villainess, she's still a proud Sky Pirate and likes to go around stealing things alongside Tat when they aren't with King of Sorrow, preferring to rob those who deserve it. Unfortunately for her, there's no other Sky Pirate in the Pantheon except for Crow, who is too villainous for Leorina to tolerate even with his standards. Crow also reminds Leorina of her greedy, power-hungry self and has sworn to knock some sense into him, which King of Sorrow has promised to help out with, not taking kindly to Crow's villainy himself.
  • On account of being isolated in the ruins of his kingdom for so long, King of Sorrow isn't naturally inclined to wander through the Pantheon: residing mainly in his temple and going out as far as the edge of the House of Despondency. Though Leorina, Tat, Klonoa, and his heralds have been convincing King to explore the rest of the Pantheon and got him to check out the House of Emotion and related Sub-Houses. Given the nature of Lunatea, King of Sorrow couldn't help but equate certain Halls in Emotion with the other four kingdoms of Lunatea: viewing Happiness as like Joilant but without the "amusement park theme" (and he can't decide if Happiness should have an amusement park or not), Anger being most similar to Volk that thankfully hasn't become a warzone (yet), and Calmness being like Mira-Mira with the focus on stoicism. Though King could not find an equivalent to La-Lakoosha, which disappointed him a bit as he has some memories from his reborn-infant-self being cared for by the High Priestess of that kingdom.
    • Having been rejected for representing a "bad emotion", and reminded of the value of other emotions by Klonoa and Leorina during their fight, King of Sorrow gives equal value to all emotions and doesn't malign or reject any of them, even if he harbors preference for sorrow. Though try as he might, King of Sorrow can't help but feel great discomfort when looking at the House of Hatred and Rancor, as the emotion of hatred engulfed him to the point of attempting to destroy his own world. King has been trying to sort out this feeling of his, though the Good-aligned members of that house have told King not to worry as they're not nearly as affected by "emotion rejection" as Lunatea.
  • Pitiable as he may look, King of Sorrow is not a deity to be underestimated as he wields the Element of Sorrow, a power so potent that it overwhelmed the power-crazed Leorina, transforming her into a monster, and threatened to destroy Lunatea as a whole. And he has two methods of fighting: "Shell Mode", in which King of Sorrow transforms into a monstrous entity that can conjure the aforementioned Nemo Moos to toss at foes, done within an alternate tunnel-shaped dimension of King's creation, complete with spiky crystals. And "Sphere Mode", in which King is surrounded by a force field with two spiked balls he controls and green orbs that rotate around and fire lasers.
  • A detail of King of Sorrow that unnerves some deities is how red his eyes are, coupled with his tiny pupils. While King is silent on the subject, Klonoa and others speculate that his eyes appear that way due to excessive crying from being rejected and forgotten for so long. Spongebob Squarepants winced when he heard that theory, recalling the time his own eyes turned red when he poured bubble water on them to entertain a group of kids. King of Sorrow was disturbed to hear that people, children no less, would find amusement in pain like that and offered Spongebob sympathy for that experience.
    • In appreciation for that sympathy, and overall feeling bad for King of Sorrow, Spongebob befriended King and tries to show the Hyuponian a fun time around the Pantheon, usually with a custom-made Krabby Patty for the King of Sorrow. While finding Spongebob's cheeriness and excitement a bit much at times, King greatly appreciates Spongebob's kindness.
  • Many deities have noticed King of Sorrow's resemblance to Klonoa's Phantomilian appearance, down to wearing a scarf that evokes Klonoa's old collar, and speculates that King isn't just an embodiment of sorrow in general but the embodiment of Klonoa's sorrow. Specifically the immense sadness Klonoa experienced when he was pulled out of Phantomile, a world he viewed as his home that he saved from ultimate destruction, only to be cast out and forgotten. Adding to this theory was how the Kingdom of Sorrow, Hyuponia, sounds a little too similar to Huepow, Klonoa's dear friend from Phantomile whom he could never see again (at least before ascending into the Pantheon). King of Sorrow and Klonoa were very intrigued by this speculation and became even closer friends than before. This also prompted King to start visiting the House of Derivatives, feeling a new sense of belonging in there.
  • King of Sorrow didn't think he'd make many friends of his own within the Pantheon, on account of his villainous actions in the past and embodying an emotion that people still generally avoid. But to his pleasant surprise, King would be befriended by plenty of deities. The first and best of these friends being Princess Luna of Equestria, who sympathized all too well with being royalty who represents something that people rejected, becoming resentful from said rejection, and then attempting to force that something onto the whole world in a destructive manner. Though Luna believes King got it even worse since the rejection of his represented aspect destroyed his whole kingdom and its people, and pledged to help with the rebuilding of Hyuponia in Lunatea; which the dark alicorn can actually be of huge help with since Lunatea is a dream world and she has influence over dreams. King of Sorrow is beyond grateful for Princess Luna's support and gets together regularly with her to discuss their kingdom's respective cultures, as well as help each other atone for each other's villainous actions in the past.
    • Through Princess Luna, King of Sorrow became acquainted with her sister, Princess Celestia, who reminds him a lot of the High Priestess of La-Lakoosha: being benevolent and wise leaders of tranquil kingdoms. King would end up getting along great with Celestia as she values sadness as an important emotion, stating that without sorrow there can be no love or friendship, which all of Lunatea can attest to. Celestia also found King of Sorrow to be an interesting individual, being royalty for sadness itself, and was sympathetic for the ostracization he endured due to that.
  • Indeed, many of King of Sorrow's allies are tragic, sympathetic villains who had since reformed, and offered their friendship to King of Sorrow to assure him that he is not alone in committing evil out of hate and/or desperation.
    • Agatha Penderghast could relate to being rejected by people for something inherent to her and then being hidden away (or rather, killed and then buried in an isolated area). And while Agatha wasn't forgotten by the people of her town, their memory of her would get distorted in the worst way, and so she became a hate-filled ghost witch who wanted to make everyone suffer until Norman Babcock gave her some much-needed empathy. King of Sorrow was horrified that a girl as young as her was outright killed by the people of her town over an ability as benign as seeing and talking with the dead, and goes out of his way to comfort the girl however and whenever he can.
    • While Merlina was not rejected by her world of Camelot, nor did she feel any hatred for it, the girl wizard could relate to becoming desperate to save her kingdom from eventual destruction and resorting to dark, unholy powers to accomplish that, regardless of the harm done to everyone. Merlina also noticed that both she and King of Sorrow summoned a hero to help them with their goal only for said hero to defeat them in a climactic battle: Sonic for Merlina and Klonoa for King. But whereas Merlina wanted to make her world eternal, King of Sorrow became fully willing to destroy Lunatea when it appeared that his kingdom was completely unwelcome by the world. Merlina doesn't hold that against him, though, acknowledging that King of Sorrow's situation would drive anyone to want to destroy their world, much as she doesn't agree with it. Merlina was very glad for King of Sorrow that his kingdom is being rebuilt from ruin and that he himself had changed for the better. King in turn fully sympathizes with Merlina over Camelot's inevitable demise and expressed hope that the kingdom could be rebuilt just as Hyuponia is, offering to lend support to Merlina if he's able to be of help.
    • Count Bleck was hesitant at first to even look at King of Sorrow, seeing how King embodies the emotion that engulfed him and fueled his desire to destroy all existence. But Tippi was able to convince her lover to at least try and get to know King of Sorrow before deciding he was to be avoided, and Count Bleck then learned that King of Sorrow is a person not unlike himself; someone who suffered a tremendous tragedy that drove them to bring about great destruction, only to reform upon learning how pointless that destruction was for their goals and now seek to atone. Though King feels Bleck should've at least tried to determine if Timpani was actually killed before deciding to destroy all of existence, but overall sympathizes with the Count over his unfortunate past and is simply glad that he is able to live with his beloved. Count Bleck in turn has offered the support of himself, Tippi, and their heralds in rebuilding the Kingdom of Sorrow.
    • While a hero, Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlet Witch suffered many tragedies that drove her to immoral actions if not outright villainy: losing the love of her life, her children with him, and her twin brother... King of Sorrow is able to feel the witch's sorrow radiating from her and has given Wanda immense condolences for all the losses she endured. Wanda appreciated King's sympathy and shared her own sympathy for his own tragedy. The Scarlet Witch had since become one of King of Sorrow's more frequent visitors to his temple, in order to express her sadness and tears before they could drive her to more immoral actions.
  • Much to King of Sorrow's dismay, there are plenty of tragic and sympathetic deities who remain on the side of evil with little to no chance of redemption. King feels a strong sense of pity and sympathy for such deities but nonetheless had made clear that he will attack them with lethal force if they start to harm people or destroy things.
    • The first of such deities that come to mind for King is the one who shares the same House with him, Malygos. As the leader of a kingdom whose people have died out thanks to the selfish actions of his world, King empathizes all too much with Malygos over the near extinction his Dragonflight experienced thanks to a corrupted friend. However, while the people of Lunatea were genuinely at fault for the destruction of Hyuponia and its people, King was quick to note that the magic users of Azeroth had nothing to do with the decimation of the Blue Dragonflight, and thus Malygos' tragedy-fueled malevolence is much less excusable. Especially as King would learn from Malygos' former associates that the Blue Dragonflight recovered a great deal from their near extinction when Malygos started the "Nexus War", which would only undo a lot of that recovery. Though with all that noted, King of Sorrow still pities Malygos for how poorly his fate turned out and makes an effort as a neighbor to clear the former Aspect of Magic of his madness and be redeemed. Unfortunately, King's attempts have only gotten him ridicule and boastful threats from Malygos, and one encounter forced King of Sorrow to outright fight the giant blue dragon to defend himself. But the Hyuponian ruler holds out hope that Malygos can be reasoned with.
    • The second deity of this nature that King of Sorrow pities is Odio, or more specifically Odio's original persona: Oersted. King feels sympathy for Oersted over getting tricked into killing his king and then branded a demon by mankind for it, pushing him into becoming the embodiment of hatred itself in his world. While their situations are not at all similar, King of Sorrow understands what it's like to be rejected by the world, become engulfed with hatred, and then spread harm and destruction to his world in response. But King was made to realize from Klonoa that hatred and violence are not the answer; that people could be made to remember and accept sorrow. And so King feels that the same can be done for Oersted if he can just let go of his hatred and be the champion of mankind again. But sadly, even if Oersted himself is willing to turn over a new leaf, Odio cannot be easily abandoned nor eliminated and thinks the King of Sorrow to be a naive fool who will be rejected and forgotten by people once more.
  • As it would happen, King would find companionship in two other equine deities: Charlie the Unicorn and Eeyore (whom King mistook for one of the Momett Dolls when he first saw the toy donkey), who had become the most frequent visitors to King of Sorrow's temple. King initially left the unicorn and plush donkey alone, figuring they did not want company, but eventually became curious as to why they came to his temple so often and decided to ask them. For Charlie, the unicorn found King's temple to be a welcoming place for him: being a quiet, non-adventurous area where he isn't bothered by troublesome nuisances nor do people pointlessly try to improve his mood. And for Eeyore, King of Sorrow's temple is a nice break from the Hundred Acre Wood for him, the place being much more in line with his glum outlook, and certainly helps that much less trouble happens to him. King of Sorrow was perplexed by their answers, having not expected to come across anyone who prefer being sad and negative, but was glad to meet individuals who were so accepting of sorrow, as this meant he himself would always be welcomed by Charlie and Eeyore. Eeyore in turn thanked King of Sorrow for noticing him, and since then King added special areas for Charlie and Eeyore in his temple, which the two appreciated.
  • As the embodiment of sorrow in Lunatea, King of Sorrow views Sadness as fellow kin of sorts, seeing that she embodies sorrow for the whole Pantheon. Sadness reciprocates the feelings of kinship with King of Sorrow and was empathetic to him upon learning what he went through; Sadness often being considered a "useless emotion" in many minds, with the former situation of Riley Andersen's Sadness being the most well-known example. Though she didn't approve of King of Sorrow's destructive methods to bring sorrow back to Lunatea, stating how unbecoming of their emotion that was, but Sadness understood that he was desperate and lost complete faith in Lunatea at the time, and the emotion is simply glad that King got the help he needed. King of Sorrow promised Sadness that he'll never stoop to those levels again and will teach people the merits of sadness so she would no longer be considered "useless".
    • On learning that the Sadness of Riley's mind was actively rejected by Riley's Joy, who even went as far as to try and dispose of a sad Core Memory, King of Sorrow confronted Joy on the assumption that she was the same way to Sadness. King was relieved to see that was not the case, with Joy being a good friend to Sadness, and was then informed by her that Riley's Joy completely changed her attitude towards Riley's Sadness and learning firsthand that It's Okay to Cry. Which surprised King a great deal, as the Emotions are much more directly tied to what they embody than even himself and the other Lunateans, yet Joy could shed tears of sorrow. Nonetheless, Joy apologized to King of Sorrow on behalf of Riley's Joy and all other Joys who have suppressed their Sadnesses: explaining that when you embody someone's happiness, and they and others like the happiness, it's hard not to feel important over the other emotions and want that someone to be happy all the time. King of Sorrow understood the explanation and accepted Joy's apology, then as an apology of his own for the confrontation offered to take Joy to Joilant in Lunatea, knowing she'd love the place.
  • Given that it led his kingdom to be cut off from Lunatea and fall into ruin, decimating his people until only he remained, and both his kingdom and himself to be forgotten... King of Sorrow does not tolerate people who suppress and try to forget their sorrows. As per his trope and his promise to Sadness, King makes an effort to teach deities who suppress their sorrow the damage they're ultimately doing to themselves and that there's no shame in crying. But for Good and Neutral aligned deities who are particularly stubborn about ignoring their sadness, King of Sorrow harbors great disdain for them and ignores them in turn. And for Evil deities who suppress and forget their sorrow, especially in a manner that harms others, King declared them outright enemies whom he'd gladly fight should circumstances come to that. True to her word, Leorina keeps special tabs on King of Sorrow regarding such deities, making sure he doesn't relapse to his extreme ways.
    • Of course, King of Sorrow does try to be mindful of individual context and gives special leeway to deities who avoid their sorrow for very valid reasons. Such as Dr. Zalost, who had experienced such extreme sorrow that he was in total misery and set out to spread that to everyone else. Even the King of Sorrow can understand that Zalost would not want to risk relapsing to that behavior and prefer to keep his desperately sought happiness. King of Sorrow also doesn't hold any ire for most stoic deities since they suppress all their emotions, not just sorrow.
  • With the above in mind, King is nothing short of appreciative to deities who have learned that It's Okay to Cry, if not already embraced sadness. Chief among them being Yesod and Hiro Hamada, who both experienced intense grief from the death of a loved one but repressed their sadness; which resulted in Yesod becoming obsessed with security and clawing at himself, and Hiro closing himself off from others, regressing back to bad habits, and then trying to kill the man responsible for his brother's death. But ultimately Yesod and Hiro learned to come to terms with their sorrows after a meltdown and Tough Love questioning from Baymax respectively, which vastly improved their mental states and becoming better people overall. King of Sorrow couldn't be more proud and thankful for the two boys.
    • When King of Sorrow first met with Baymax, the healthcare companion was immediately compelled to offer his services to the Hyuponian, his sensors detecting high levels of sadness from him. Hiro, having learned about King of Sorrow's nature beforehand, laughed a bit and assured his robot friend that sadness is inherent to King, being an embodiment of sorrow in his native world, and thus nothing to heal. Nonetheless, Baymax was insistent on providing therapy to King of Sorrow and the Hyuponian admitted that he still has mental scars from being rejected and forgotten. With that, it was arranged for Baymax and King to get together every week to help him heal from that trauma. Hiro and other members of Big Hero 6 would sometimes join in these sessions and gift King some of Aunt Cass' food, which the Hyuponian finds delicious.
  • Being such close friends with Klonoa, King of Sorrow harbors the illest will towards the Dream Traveler's enemies and has sworn to subject them to the worst sort of sorrow should any of them harm Klonoa. The top of King's shitlist in this regard being Joka, for dealing a devastating emotional blow to Klonoa by murdering his grandpa and overall being an active menace to him.
    • For being the reason Joka got into the Pantheon to begin with, and one of Klonoa's more vile enemies in the Pantheon, King of Sorrow declared that he will join any fight against Nightmare and make him suffer as much as the victims of his nightmares. Nightmare scoffed at King of Sorrow's threat, claiming that he lacks the ability to feel any sorrow. This only prompted King of Sorrow to start honing his power to test Nightmare's claim.
  • Being an enemy of Klonoa and ally of Joka is enough for King of Sorrow to dislike Saya, but learning of her goal to merge all worlds to create unbridled chaos makes him detest the werefox as it reminds King of his use of chaos to force Lunatea to remember sorrow. The chaos King unleashed caused massive damage to Lunatea, if not threatened to destroy it outright, and he only committed it out of desperation and insanity-induced hatred for Lunatea, which he now feels shame for. That Saya would merge all worlds in order to inflict such a thing unto them, for what can only appear to be for shits and giggles fills the King of Sorrow with great rage.
  • The closest King of Sorrow came to relapsing to his villainous behavior was when he first met Stan Smith, having heard about the CIA agent previously learning that crying is a good thing, and to not bottle up his emotions overall, and the Hyuponian wanted to thank the man for his acceptance of sorrow. But Stan ended up responding with complete disbelief that he of all men would ever be okay with crying, much to King's confusion. The CIA agent then immediately followed that up with a tangent about how sadness is something to be buried and forgotten like all other "useless emotions", wishing that sorrow as a concept never existed. Needless to say, King of Sorrow felt tricked in the worst way and was so hurt by Stan's words about sorrow that he immediately entered Shell Mode and attempted to kill the man until Leorina, Tat, Klonoa, his Heralds, and a few nearby deities intervened. King of Sorrow was then informed that Stan always forgets whatever lesson he learned previously, as per his assigned trope, and hence would not have remembered that time he learned the necessity of crying. King calmed down from his rage and came to pity the CIA agent for being incapable of improving as a person. Though his dislike for Stan heavily outweighs the pity and King of Sorrow won't forgive the man for what he said about sorrow, especially since Stan is unapologetic about it.
  • Sonic and Tails did a Double Take on first seeing King of Sorrow as he strongly resembles Kitsunami "Kit" the Fennec from their IDW universe, and thought at that moment the blue fox had ascended without Surge somehow. King of Sorrow also initially thought Tails to be related to Klonoa on account of their similar faces. After clearing up this confusion and getting to properly know each other, Sonic and Tails offered their friendship to King of Sorrow, feeling sympathy for his lonely past and deciding he could use more friends. King accepted their offer, of course, and the hedgehog and fox make an effort to have King of Sorrow come along with them in any adventures across the Pantheon so he'd not just stand in his temple all the time.
    • There was a brief moment of tension between King and Sonic when the former learned that "tears" are among Sonic's dislikes, leading King of Sorrow to believe that Sonic rejects sorrow. Thankfully, before this could damage their friendship, Sonic explained that he has no issue with sadness or crying, bringing up how he even wished for a mountain of handkerchiefs for his sad genie friend, Shahra, so she could cry as much as she needed. Sonic then clarified that his dislike of tears isn't for the tears themselves but rather the reason for the tears; someone being subjected to pain or otherwise suffering injustice, which the hedgehog cannot stand. King apologized for his misunderstanding and agreed wholeheartedly with Sonic's viewpoint, recalling the bullying Lolo endured from the other priestesses before the events of Lunatea's Veil.
  • King of Sorrow took up an interest in baseball after Klonoa invited him to a game in the House of Sports one day. Deities who observed King out on the field found him to be adorable in his baseball outfit, even with the unsettling red eyes. King can only respond to such comments with a bashful blush.
  • "Why... Why do you... Hate sorrow? Can't you... Can't you accept sorrow at all...? Is there no place for me, in this world?!"

  • A nightmare creature from the dream world of Phantomile, Joka was the loyal lackey of Ghadius, the King of Darkness who wanted to destroy Phantomile for rejecting nightmares in favor of good dreams. When Klonoa and Huepow began meddling in Ghadius' scheme, Joka was tasked with eliminating the two children but found himself constantly getting thwarted by the boys. When Joka's failures earned him Ghadius' disappointment, the nightmare clown stopped fooling around and became a serious threat to Klonoa and Huepow, starting with killing Klonoa's grandfather to steal the Moon Pendant for Ghadius and then fighting the two himself in a climactic battle that would end in Joka's demise. At least in Phantomile, as the clown would appear alive and well in other dream worlds and continue to menace Klonoa one way or another. And now Joka has made it into the Pantheon, eager to cause more trouble for the Dream Traveler and his allies.
  • Joka was ascended into the Pantheon by Nightmare, who wanted to spite Klonoa after the Dream Traveler fought him one too many times. While summoning Joka to the Pantheon was a trivial matter for Nightmare, he had to figure out a trope for the clown to become a deity and be kept within the Pantheon. With all the big tropes for Joka taken, Nightmare was about to give up on this endeavor until Ghadius, serving Nightmare as his High Priest, recalled a peculiar kind of music that would always accompany Joka. Nightmare took a listen to all of Joka's themes and identified the music as electronic, which sparked a eureka for Nightmare as he realized that, as a clown heavily associated with electronic music, Joka was the perfect fit for the then-unoccupied trope of Circus Synths and immediately claimed the trope for the clown fiend. Joka laughed with glee as he was deified and bowed to Nightmare with utmost gratitude, swearing absolute loyalty to the Emporer of Darkness.
    • Indeed, the very first thing Nightmare noticed about Joka (besides the techno music that indeed accompanied him) is how obsequious the clown is, thinking he ought to be the God of Brown-Nosers instead. Ghadius always figured that Joka just recognizes greater power when he sees it and knows to be obedient to it. Joka doesn't confirm or deny Ghadius' theory, nor the theories of others, and simply states that his loyalty is completely sincere and he'll happily serve any evildoer in need of a lackey. Of course, as loyal as he is to Nightmare and other villains within the Pantheon, Joka is only truly devoted to Ghadius and is secretly working to get his beloved master ascended. The King of Darkness is thoroughly pleased with his lackey's efforts and patiently waits to be granted godhood.
  • Joka confounds many a deity when it comes to his competence as for the most part Joka is an utter buffoon who's more an annoyance than a threat, not unlike Jesse, James, and Meowth of Team Rocket; doing utterly baffling things like shouting out the weakness of the monsters he sends at Klonoa. But after suffering enough defeats, especially if they land him in hot water with his superior, Joka will stop fooling around and become a genuine threat: personally spreading plagues, attacking with lethal force, and becoming shockingly cunning. Some deities had come to believe that Joka's foolish incompetence is just a facade to lower the guard of his enemies, though Joka's response to that speculation suggests otherwise.
    • Deities are especially warned to avoid Joka at night or during an eclipse, as the clown fiend is able to draw power from the darkness to transform into a monstrous form aptly named "Beast Joka", which makes him a great deal stronger and faster as well as highly durable. Those who encounter Joka in his beast form are advised to avoid his attacks and wait out the night or force the daylight if it can be helped, forcing Joka back into his much weaker default form. Because of this, Joka maintains a tight alliance with evil deities associated with the night and vows to destroy all deities of the day.
      • From the "Klonoa Heroes universe", Joka had another powerful transformation in the form "Flower Joka", a floating serpentine beast which ironically attacks by shooting fireballs. That naturally attracted the attention of the foremost flower deities, Piranha Plants, Flowey, Cagney Carnation, and Poison Ivy. Though of the four, only the Piranha Plants and Flowey are allied to Joka as both Cagney Carnation and Ivy are repulsed by Flower Joka's use of flame, and additionally for the latter Joka reminds her too much of the Joker. The Piranha Plants, being fire-spitting plants themselves who readily work with villains in their native world, have no problem siding with Joka while Flowey is every bit of an evil Jerkass like Joka. Though in truth, Joka is just one of many evil deities Flowey is spying on for the side of Good, and otherwise despises the obsequious clown fiend.
  • Once offered the choice, Joka was initially going to choose the monsters he summoned to fight Klonoa and Huepow: Rongo Longo, Gelg Bolm, and Baladium, as his Heralds. But then Joka recalled the allies of his "Heroes incarnation", Janga and Garlen, and decided to have them as his Heralds instead, as they're a great deal more competent than those pathetic monsters while also having actual personalities. Neither of the two are happy to be the "second-in-command" to Joka, who prides himself on being the most loyal lackey (and indeed served as their lackey in their home universe), but Janga and Garlen are thankful to be given a second chance at life in the Pantheon and are eager to cause trouble alongside Joka.
    • Because of the many similarities between him and Garlen, Joka struck up an alliance with Dr. Eggman: offering to assist Eggman in his plans and attempt to eliminate the doctor's many enemies. Eggman is a tad wary of Joka, thinking that nobody could be that obsequious, but did accept Joka's offer and lent the harlequin his own custom Egg Mobile, which Eggman was surprised to learn Joka is experienced with piloting as it resembles a flying machine he used back in Phantomile. Garlen and Eggman also tend to work together, sharing technology and insight, though their egos frequently clash, with Eggman most often proving himself the better to Garlen.
    • Similarly, Joka allied with Katz under the presumption that he and Janga would get along. Which proved correct as Katz and Janga admire each other's cruelty and methods of killing, with Katz becoming inspired to create his own poison-laced Wolverine Claws. Janga also relates with Katz's hatred for dogs, being the Arch-Enemy to the canid Guntz who is currently one of Klonoa's Heralds. The two evil cats frequently get together to devise schemes to eliminate their foes, which Joka will be more than happy to get involved in.
  • Joka and Janga were just scouting around the Pantheon for some havoc when they spotted Saya, whom they recognized from the time they worked with her and greeted the villainous werefox like an old friend. Saya was surprised to see Joka and Janga again, having not even heard from them since that first world-merging attempt, but was nonetheless happy to see old allies whom she can count on to help her out; recalling what great help the clown and cat were. Since then, whenever Saya needs something accomplished for a plan, Joka and Janga are sure to get involved.
    • Reiji and Xiaomu were not pleased in the least of Joka and Janga's renewed alliance with Saya, remembering what a pain the clown fiend in particular was, and both as well as every other heroic deity involved in that first world-merge event were quick to relearn their strategies to combat Joka and Janga so as to not get caught off guard by those two again. Seeing this coming, Joka was quick to get reacquainted with his villainous cohorts from that whole shindig and learn from them whatever new moves and strategies those heroes came up with while he was absent.
  • Joka was ecstatic with how many other evil clowns and harlequins there were in the Pantheon and was quick to ally with as many as he could find. Of them all, Joka gets along the best with Dimentio (whom he was a Follower to) and is one of the few sincere allies for the Master of Dimensions; having absolutely no issue with Dimentio's psychopathy and grand plan. Dimentio is nothing short of delighted by Joka's complete loyalty and considers him a reliable ally to call on for his endeavors. And just to sweeten the deal and make Joka even more effective, Dimentio has been teaching Joka some of his magic. Joka also became one of very few clowns to be considered an ally to The Violator, also known as Clown, since he's a nightmare creature rather than a human (nightmares essentially being the demons of dreams) and the two having quite a bit in common: being the loyal lackeys to powerful evil entities who started off as complete jokes only to become much more dangerous over time, and would end up the most enduring enemy to their universe's respective heroes.
    • Much to Joka's surprise, while he was seeking out clown allies, he would be approached for an alliance by Kefka Palazzo and Joker of the Pretty Cure universe, who refers to himself as "Agent of Bad End". The two mad clowns of magic had looked into Joka's background the moment they heard of his ascension and found him to be a very promising partner, what with his willingness to work with would-be world destroyers and being a devoted lackey without any ulterior motives. And indeed, Joka was more than happy to partner with Kefka and Agent of Bad End; viewing Kefka as similar to Ghadius but much more colorful and humorous, and relating with Agent on being depraved second-in-commands to a world-destroying evil only to step up as the most frequent menace to their universe's heroes. The Pantheon shudders at what these three psychotic magic clowns will do...
    • It didn't take long at all for Joka to find the Joker of the DC universe, given his infamy. And for once, Joka found himself being hesitant to ally with that mad clown as the Joker is just too unpredictable for him to consider worth working for. Joka was also quick to learn from other deities that the Joker is generally a terrible deity to work for, with Harley Quinn's tenure under the Clown Prince of Crime being commonly cited. Joka felt pity for Harley as he could see that she is an incredibly competent underling who was more than devoted to the Joker, yet gets treated like shit by him most of the time. Joka would've reached out to Harley Quinn for a partnership to make up for her abuse, but Harley has a tendency to act as a "hero" whenever she's not working with the Joker, and Joka has absolutely no interest in hero work. Joker for his part does not appreciate there being yet another "Joker" in the Pantheon, stating that replacing the "er" with an "a" is a pathetic attempt to be unique, and finds Joka's competency too inconsistent to tolerate.
      • While Joka is merely wary of the Joker, he's outright terrified by the Batman Who Laughs, who has all of the Joker's worst qualities but maximized by a lot. Joka will only really work with He Who Laughs if it's in a team-up with Kefka and the Agent of Bad End, since those two managed to befriend He Who Laughs, but otherwise Joka stays the hell away from him even in his beast form.
    • Joka soon found two other nightmare harlequins from dream worlds in Vex and Marx, whom he unsurprisingly became good friends with. Joka is particularly impressed by Vex and Marx's cunning, both tricking Sackboy and Kirby respectively into accomplishing their goals for them, and the nightmare jester was disappointed for them when their well-earned victories were snatched at the last second by those heroes. Ever the loyal help for all villainy, Joka had promised to help the two fellow nightmare harlequins win for good, which Vex and Marx greatly appreciated. Vex and Marx were also impressed with Joka themselves, praising his great competency after initial bumbling and dealing an incredible emotional blow to his foe; something the two wish they could replicate if not for Sackboy and Kirby seemingly lacking any family.
      • While not a harlequin himself, Joka took note of how all of Wizeman's minions are jesters or at least have a clown theme to their appearances. With that alongside Wizeman's resemblance to his beloved Ghadius, Joka took a liking to the Nightmare God and struck up an allegiance to him. However, Joka would come to regret this partnership as Wizeman is an exceptionally cruel entity, not even being grateful for the loyalty and hard work of his second-in-command, Reala, and threatens to destroy the Nightmaren for failures as much as his lesser creations. And indeed, Wizeman has little to no tolerance for Joka due to his mostly horrid competency and poor luck. Though Joka does manage to impress Wizeman with his brilliant cunning and the Nightmare God is in awe of Joka's beast form, which resembles the exact kind of Nightmaren he'd make. In any case, Joka and Wizeman are willing to work together despite the tension.
  • With Joka's most famous act of evil being his killing of Klonoa's grandpa, he has gained the favor of deities who are also famed for killing the family members of heroes: Scar, Sabor, Lord Shen, and Voldemort being just the first of such deities to praise the clown fiend for the cold-blooded murder. Likewise, Joka has earned the enmity of heroic deities whose family were killed by villains and deities who were the slain family, such as the case of Mufasa for the latter. Both he and Simba have threatened to maul Joka should he make any attempts on any other innocent family members, which the harlequin scoffed at; after all, he's a monster of nightmares capable of magic, and they are mundane animals. Of course, Scar was quick to inform Joka that Simba is able to fight even one of the stronger variants of the Heartless, and Mufasa could possibly do the same. Suddenly, Joka's bravado turned to fear and he gives the lions a wide berth.
    • In response to deities who despise Joka for slaying Klonoa's kin, the nightmare clown pointed out to them with the most shit-eating grin that Klonoa and "Grandpa" weren't even related to each other, the old man merely posing as the Dream Traveler's granddad as part of Huepow's masquerade. Joka would even feel that his offing of the geezer would be just punishment for that deception if it didn't imply he did something morally "good", simply delighting in finishing off an innocent old man. But of course, deities have pointed out in turn that regardless of the true nature of Grandpa's relation to Klonoa, the two loved each other like family, and Joka certainly didn't know that truth when he committed that deed.
      • Joka took an interest in Judge Claude Frollo when he heard about the man being responsible for killing Quasimodo's mother, and then attempting to drown the infant hunchback right after, which the clown fiend was impressed by. Though Frollo wants nothing to do with Joka as he does not associate with monsters, much less one that dresses like the leader of the Romani he so despises. Too bad for him, Joka won't take "no" for an answer and has taken to hanging out with Frollo, both as a "friend" and to harass him.
  • As Klonoa is his greatest enemy, Joka considers all of Klonoa's allies his enemies as well and has sworn to destroy them all. Among Klonoa's friends, Joka harbors the most animosity for King of Sorrow and NiGHTS; the former being a pitiful-looking contrast to his beloved Ghadius who had his goals granted by Klonoa despite threatening his world's destruction just like Ghadius, not to mention resembling Klonoa a great deal. And for the latter, Joka views NiGHTS as a traitor to nightmare kind, having been created to spread nightmares but rebelled to protect children from nightmares, and doing so while maintaining his jester appearance.
  • Being one of the few sincere allies to Dimentio is enough to get Joka on Count Bleck's bad side, but the fact that Joka loyally served Ghadius to destroy Phantomile and its people has made Bleck determined to take Joka down once and for all. Joka is unfazed by Bleck's threats, however, and loves to ridicule the Count for having attempted to erase all of existence just cause his girlfriend died. While acknowledging Ghadius' own Suicidal Cosmic Temper Tantrum as extreme, the clown fiend reasoned that at least it was limited to Phantomile, and being rejected for being a nightmare and sealed away for three thousand years is a lot more understandable than losing a lover.
  • Joka found himself in Rayman's list of enemies when the Limbless Wonder came up to the clown fiend, having heard about the latest deity having floating limbs just like himself and wanting to befriend him, only to find said deity to be a nightmare monster committed to all sorts of evil. Rayman also didn't take kindly to how Joka used his own floating, gloved hands to fight, believing the clown fiend to be ripping off his own style. After Joka taunted Rayman's disappointment and then mocked him by mimicking Rayman's punching style, the Limbless Wonder attempted to literally punch Joka's red toothy grin off his face. But much to Rayman's shock, Joka managed to block the punch with his fists, which Rayman learned were as hard as iron as pain swelled up in his own fist.
  • Being yet another evil clown in the Pantheon, and a nightmare creature at that, Ronald McDonald immediately declared Joka an enemy who is giving clowns a bad name. Joka can only laugh in ridicule at the fast-food mascot, proclaiming that Ronald's desire to restore the good reputation of clowns is in vain and that he has done far more harm than even the worst of evil clowns by getting many children hooked on deep-fried garbage that would cause health problems all over his world.
  • Joka got himself permanently banned from the House of Commerce and all stores in the Pantheon when he used his magic to increase the size of his money tenfold, literally turning his bills of cash giant, thinking that they'll be accepted within the Pantheon unlike the "Beach Volleyball world". But of course, they were not. Even the deities who could tell they weren't counterfeit didn't approve of the oversized bills and kicked Joka out of their establishments. The nightmare clown declared that he would make the House of Commerce and all businesses within the Pantheon pay for this humiliation.
  • Pointless! Worthless! Useless! Hopeless!

  • Opposes: Most Blood Knights
  • Cream is a young rabbit girl who lived an idyllic if isolated life under the care of her single parent, Vanilla the Rabbit, who had raised Cream like a princess but did so with a strict yet fair discipline that resulted in Cream being as sweet as the food she's named for. However, Cream's world was changed forever when Dr. Eggman abducted the rabbit family for one of his many schemes. Cream was quickly saved by Sonic, and shortly after Cream rescued her mother from the mad scientist's clutches, and ever since Cream's quiet life had turned to one of adventure. Despite her inexperience in the adventuring business, Cream has been able to catch up with Sonic and his friends, with no small amount of help from her constant companion, Cheese the Chao.
  • The rabbit ascended after she and Cheese wandered into the Pantheon during one of their little adventures. Cream had heard about the Pantheon beforehand from her ascended friends and was proud to have come across the place itself on her own, without even intending to. Because of her adventuring across the world at just six-years-old with apparent approval from her mother, it was agreed that Cream would be the Deity for the Free-Range Children Trope. Cream's friends rejoiced at her ascension and Cream herself was overjoyed to join with them in the Pantheon, wherein she could meet tons of new potential friends. Though the joy was ruined for a moment when Cream was informed that, due to him being a separate character and didn't quite qualify for her trope, Cheese could not ascend with her. But this heartbreaking news was quickly remedied when Cheese was designated as Cream's Herald, allowing the two inseparable friends to remain together.
  • True to her trope, Cream spends much of her time wandering around the Pantheon instead of her home in the mortal plane or even her temple. When she isn't hanging out with her friends or having fun at a hangout, Cream is exploring parts of the Pantheon she's never been to before for the sake of experiencing new things and sating her curiosity. Of course, Cream makes sure to stay out of trouble by avoiding places that mainly contain villains and politely asking permission to an area that may be restricted. Cream also actively avoids the House of Combat and similarly violent domains, as per her pacifism.
  • On that note, Cream's temple is a recreation of her home in the mortal plane, as portrayed in Sonic X and Sonic Rush, wherein her mother resides. However, a large and vibrant Chao Garden was added in at Cream and Cheese's request to provide a home for many wild Chao, whom Cheese and his brother, Chocola, could socialize with. Being the welcoming little girl that she is, Cream allowed any non-evil Gods to enter her temple so they could care for and play with the many wild Chao, as well as have tea with her mother. Incidentally, this means that other Gods spend more time in Cream's temple than Cream herself.
  • Many deities find it jarring that Cream adventures across the world and had taken part in saving her planet on more than one occasion despite being an actual six-year-old girl, and often question why her mother and friends allow this. Of course, Sonic and his friends, especially Amy, are quick to point out that Cream is a lot stronger than she appears, not to mention a great deal more mature than most kids her age, and even then has great potential to be an incredible hero on becoming older.
  • She absolutely abhors unnecessary violence and always seeks a peaceful solution to any conflict. But should violence prove necessary, Cream will resort to it; she mainly fights by commanding Cheese to attack the opposition, but Cream won't hesitate to get physical herself via spin dashing and literal flying kicks. The combined efforts of Cream and Cheese in combat had proven to be very effective, allowing the two to take on gods twice their rank, and they gained a reputation in the Pantheon as all-powerful destroyers. Cream does not know how to feel about this reputation of hers.
    • As a result of her disdain for unnecessary violence, Cream does not take kindly to blood knights and especially those who inflict violence for cruelty's sake.
  • Some speculate that the source of Cream and Cheese's absurd success in most endeavors is from her being a rabbit, and thus having a Lucky Rabbit's Foot. Cream isn't too sure herself if that is the case, but doesn't rule it out.
  • Can often be seen in the House of Food, partaking in all the sweets and ice cream she could want, commonly in the cafe run by Hoto Cocoa, Kafuu Chino, Tedeza Rize, Ujimatsu Chiya, and Kirima Sharo (whom Cream relates to due to their Edible Theme Naming, much like herself and her family), and the House of Beasts and Nature, volunteering to help care for the animals and admiring the natural beauty of both houses. Cream also likes to hang out in the Sub-House of Non-Vehicular Travel due to her flight with ears; helps that two of her good friends, Tails and Knuckles, are of that house.
  • Just as Cream had hoped, she quickly many new friends upon ascending, starting with the many rabbit deities of the Pantheon. Of them, Cream is closest with Judy Hopps, Peppy Hare, Bunnymund, and Usagi, whom she considers surrogate older sister (behind Amy and Blaze), grandfather, and uncles respectively. Cream also extensively hangs out with Cream is also good friends with Bugs and Lola Bunny, particularly the latter due to her behavior reminding Cream of Amy, though she disapproves of their slapstick antics. Cream relates with Reisen in being seen as useless, though remains to see if the moon rabbit is simply a misunderstood badass like herself, and visits Reisen occasionally for her mochi. And Cream is determined to get Rabbit and Angel Bunny to mellow out from their grumpiness through her friendship with them, just as she did with Blaze.
  • Met Usalia one day in the House of Food, when they happened to be eating their favored foods next to each other, and the two became great friends after noticing the many similarities they share; being under the age of ten (Usalia being biologically eight), being inherently peaceful, sharing similar colors, and even being notorious game breakers of their respective worlds. Cream often visits Usalia's temple to play, wherein she's treated to Usalia's sweet curry, and Usalia sometimes accompanies Cream in her exploration of the Pantheon.
    • Witnessing Usalia's Overload Skill, otherwise known as her Berserker Mode, is always a scary sight for Cream: Usalia's pupils disappear, she goes on all fours, fangs and scythe-like talons pop out, and she begins shredding entire mobs of mooks at a speed that rivals Sonic, all while screaming with bestial fury. But Cream knew after the first time that Usalia would never harm her in that state, and was in fact safest when right next to her, which also allowed Usalia to strike enemies even harder.
  • Being in the Pantheon allowed Cream to befriend heroes of her world who she never got to meet before, Tikal, Maria, and Chaos. She and Tikal unsurprisingly got along great due to their similar personalities, beliefs, and love for Chao, as well as being raised by a positive maternal figure whose parenting made them who they are. Cream and Maria have much in common, even having close relations with dark-colored ultimate lifeforms in the form of Gemerl and Shadow respectively. And she and Chaos are friendly with each other due to their shared love and protectiveness over the Chao, and Cream acts as a Morality Chain for the water elemental to keep him from going on another destructive rampage when his anger is provoked.
  • Cream gets along well with Ventus and Yutaka for their purity and innocence respectively, given that she herself is the most pure and innocent of her world. Those two commonly visit Cream in her temple for tea and cookies, and raise their own Chao in Cream's Chao Garden: their respective Chao having become Hero Chaos Chao.
  • Cream first met Milla when Sash Lilac gathered her friends to meet up with Sonic and his friends for a friendly get-together. After the rabbit got the shy hound to trust her, Milla asked if she could touch Cream's ears. Seeing no problem with this, she permitted it, and they became fast friends, especially after Cream introduced Cheese, whom Milla found absolutely adorable.
  • It's not uncommon to see Cream with Yoko Littner, the two having initially bonded from having a similar voice with each other, and then further bonded from Yoko's fondness for children and particularly appreciating Cream's politeness, while Cream admires Yoko for her friendliness and badassery, soon viewing the sniper as another Cool Big Sister just behind Amy, Blaze, and Judy. Although Cream does think Yoko could stand to cover herself some more and wishes she didn't wield a weapon as lethal as a gun.
    • The same could not be said for Etna, who also has a similar voice, but is one of the very few deities Cream outright hates for her horrid treatment of the Prinnies, the species reminding Cream of the Chao of her world.
  • Being an adorable rabbit, and a child one at that, and always accompanied by a Ridiculously Cute Critter, Cream and Cheese overloaded Rena Ryuugu and Fuko Ibuki's Cuteness Proximity and were subsequently kidnapped by those two while wandering about. Although, Cream and Cheese didn't think they were being kidnapped, instead assuming they were being escorted to Rena and Fuko’s place for tea, like Cream had done with Blaze upon first meeting her. Regardless, this event nearly caused Rena and Fuko to face Amy, Blaze, and Sonic's wrath, only halted by Cream assuring them she was not harmed. And afterward, Cream and Cheese were to have at least one deity protecting them when traveling outside their temple from then on. Cream was conflicted by that, for she did enjoy the company of the deities who elected to protect her, but the protection made it seem like she couldn't defend herself and sometimes wants to explore the Pantheon with just Cheese by her side (not to mention went against her trope).
    • Eventually, this protection over Cream had lessened and halted altogether as she and Cheese reaffirmed their badass credentials to the Pantheon. Soon afterward, Cream paid Rena and Fuko a visit and formally befriended them, holding no negative feelings to them and knowing that they meant no harm or malicious intent (which they explained to several deities). Cream also soon understood that Rena needs to be in "cute mode", lest she succumbs to the Hinimizawa Syndrome.
  • Has a fondness for all good-aligned Pokemon, due to their similarities to Chao, and Cream gets along well with heroic Pokemon Trainer deities. For this reason, Cream earned the affectionate title of 'Chao Trainer' among the Pokemon deities she befriended. Although, when asked if she would ever partner with a Pokemon should one be viable, Cream decided that she wouldn't: as great as she thinks Pokemon are, there's only one Mon partner for her and his name is Cheese.
  • Gained the interest of Aerith after she had learned that, in an alternate timeline, Cream was an extremely powerful White Mage, and the rabbit accepted the healer's offer to mentor her in the ways of White Magic to meet or even surpass that potential.
  • Befriended Fluttershy after meeting the shy pony by chance in the House of Nature. Cream and Fluttershy bonded over their many similarities, particularly their politeness, immense kindness, desire to befriend many, and having fearsome reputations despite their normal demeanor.
  • Cream also became good friends of K.O. when she heard from Sonic and Tails, after their own little adventure with him, that he loved her (platonically). The rabbit girl was flattered that someone with such admiration for heroes also had a high opinion of her, and the two found common ground in being the only child of single mothers who aid their older allies with their positive influence.
    • Through K.O., Cream met and befriended Steven Universe, admiring his ability to successfully end conflicts through peace than violence and generally being an Actual Pacifist with a preference for defense and healing over direct combat.
  • Earned the everlasting respect of Ax Battler, Tyris Flare, and Gilius Thunderhead after defiantly standing up to the Death Adder.

  • Once believing himself to be a native inhabitant of Phantomile, specifically a denizen of Breezegale, Klonoa is in truth the "Dream Traveler"; a hero who is destined to travel to different dream worlds and save them from destruction, with Phantomile being just one such trip. Which Klonoa has no problem with, being a naturally kind-hearted kid who never refuses anyone in need. However, the big catch with being the Dream Traveler is that Klonoa cannot stay in a dream world after it had been saved, needing to leave for his home dimension or be forced out of the dream if he stays too long, as had happened with Phantomile. Which sucks to say the least for Klonoa as he's quick to form close friendships with the inhabitants of those dream worlds, and he (sometimes) depends on some of these inhabitants to power his weapon, the Wind Ring, so he has to make friends with those in the dream worlds to accomplish his task. Though as sad as it is to say goodbye to friends, with minimal chance of seeing them again, Klonoa maintains an upbeat attitude and continues to selflessly do his duty of restoring balance to dreams.
    • In an alternate version of his universe, dubbed the "Heroes universe", Klonoa is a normal boy of Breezegale who dreamt of obtaining a "Hero Medal", a mystical and highly coveted item of his world. Said world being a singular planet that unifies the dream worlds of Klonoa's "Prime universe", with the locations and inhabitants of Phantomile coexisting alongside those of Lunatea and more. After a chance encounter with the bounty hunter, Guntz, Klonoa of the Heroes universe would achieve his dream of getting his own Hero Medal and would then save the world from an eternal nightmare alongside Guntz and a bomb expert pangolin named Pango. The Heroes version of Klonoa has a much less troubled and lonely life compared to the Prime version but was much less heroic until some serious reflecting.
  • Klonoa first entered the Pantheon the same way he entered all other dream worlds, having been sent there as the Dream Traveler to protect it from destruction. After accomplishing what he had been sent to do, however, Klonoa found that he was not forced out after sticking around for a long time. At first, Klonoa was confused but then realized he finally had a waking world to stay in and less eternal goodbyes to make. People would need his help again and again, people could follow him now that he was a god, and people could keep crossing paths with him in his duties. At last, Klonoa had found a proper home. His ascension was finalized when he was given the trope Bittersweet Ending due to the endings of his main adventures being among the most heartwarming yet tearjerking of their kind.
  • During his ascension process, Klonoa found the King of Sorrow at the Court of the Gods, which was a big surprise for the Dream Traveler as he last saw King of Sorrow dying in his arms back in Lunatea yet here he was alive and well in the Pantheon. King explained that he had manifested within the House of Despondency shortly after the aforementioned death in Lunatea and was taken to the Court of the Gods to determine his fate in the Pantheon. Because Klonoa and King of Sorrow were familiar with each other, it was decided by the Court that King of Sorrow would act as the Herald for the newly ascended Klonoa, which the two boys heartily agreed to. Even though King started off as an enemy to Klonoa, having attempted to consume Lunatea with sorrow and attacking Klonoa to atone for that world's sins, Klonoa knew that King of Sorrow was acting from trauma-induced insanity and was more than willing to accept the Hyuponian as a friend after all that had been sorted.
    • Over time, though, Klonoa began to miss his friends from his past adventures: Huepow, Lolo, Popka, and Guntz, and desired to be with them again. When the option to make them all heralds was offered, Klonoa immediately took that opportunity to bring those four into the Pantheon. Many Tears of Joy were shed as Klonoa, Huepow, Lolo, and Popka embraced each other in reunion, while Guntz just gave the Dream Traveler a friendly pat on the shoulders. And Klonoa convinced the Court of the Gods to ascend King as a deity so he wouldn't feel like a left-out fifth wheel herald but rather a fellow deity ally, with the Hyuponian also able to make his own friends in the form of other deities and his own heralds.
      • However, with regards to Huepow, there's a serious Elephant in the Living Room between him and Klonoa over Huepow giving Klonoa Fake Memories of having always lived in Phantomile, as opposed to being an outsider to the dream world who was sent to save it. Klonoa and Huepow both know they have to talk about it but for the time being want to enjoy each other's company again after being apart for so long. Klonoa at least has no hard feelings about it as he knows how regretful and apologetic Huepow is about that whole thing. Though that doesn't stop many deities, including King of Sorrow, as well as Lolo, Popka, and Guntz from criticizing Huepow for doing that to Klonoa, pointing out how unnecessary it was and how it ultimately made Klonoa's departure from Phantomile ten times more heartbreaking than it could've been.
  • Immediately upon ascending, Klonoa was merged with his incarnation from the Heroes universe, retaining that counterpart's memories and experience, and gaining his abilities and equipment. Though still having a preference for fighting with his Wind Ring, Klonoa took a liking to the sword and hammer weapons and can not only be seen training in using them but will utilize them in serious fights if his Wind Ring cannot be used to its full effect. Klonoa also greatly appreciates the new special move in "Thunder Hurricane" since it lets him damage multiple enemies in a spinning attack while stunning others with lightning bolts. Klonoa also gained a great respect for pangolins and bombers, provided those bombs are used for good purposes, and wishes in hindsight that he chose Pango as a herald alongside Huepow, Lolo, Popka, and Guntz. Though Guntz, who also gained the memories of his Heroes incarnation, assured his cabbit friend that Pango would've wanted to stay in his village with his son anyway.
  • Klonoa's role in the Pantheon (when not up to his usual duties) revolves around consoling those who are experiencing separation from friends and loved ones, as he's experienced more than enough cases himself. Though, nobody ever asks if he could use some support. Overall, he's surprisingly upbeat about his past and his fate, and can often be found talking with other deities in the House of Despondency in attempts to cheer them up.
  • As the Dream Traveler, Klonoa is naturally drawn to the House of Dreams and Nightmares and spends most of his time there; which got to the point that he's considered an unofficial member of the house. And since Klonoa's role as the Dream Traveler is to save imperiled dreams from destruction, he quickly gained the favor of Ysera and other "dream guardians": NiGHTS, Princess Luna, and Haruto. Klonoa loves to hang out with each of them and share experiences with protecting dreams. And while the worst aspect of being the Dream Traveler is circumvented by being in the Pantheon, Ysera, Princess Luna, and Haruto are looking for ways to remove the "forced departure" of the Dream Traveler role, allowing Klonoa to remain in dream worlds as much as he likes, if not travel to them voluntarily as opposed to the current involuntary way. Klonoa is nothing short of thankful to the three for their efforts.
    • Of the "dream guardians", Klonoa gets along best with NiGHTS since he's the most devoted to protecting dream worlds, just like himself, yet NiGHTS has such a fun and flighty personality (moments of rudeness notwithstanding). Klonoa also admires NiGHTS for being a Nightmaren, directly created by Wizeman the Wicked to expand Nightmare, but decided to rebel against his master and be the savior of Nightopia instead, which made Klonoa start to consider that not all nightmares or nightmare creatures are bad. The Dream Traveler couldn't help but remark that, with that origin in mind, NiGHTS is almost a good version of Joka, both being clown-based nightmare creatures but NiGHTS had the good sense to rebel and protect dreams, while Joka remained devoted to his nightmare master and helped him to bring about the permanent end to a dream world. Klonoa is also intrigued by NiGHTS' ability to dualize dreaming people, which the Dream Traveler compared to his Wind Ring and its dependence on others to fuel it. NiGHTS, in turn, is fascinated by Klonoa's Wind Ring and praises Klonoa for his heart and determination to help dream worlds and those within despite never getting to see those worlds and their people again. To allow the Dream Traveler a dream world he can visit time and time again, NiGHTS invited Klonoa to Nightopia where the two can have fun.
    • Soon after getting acquainted with the good dream deities, Klonoa would have an encounter with Dream of the Endless, who revealed himself to be the one who had summoned the Dream Traveler to the Pantheon in the first place and allowed for him to be ascended. As the personification of dreams, the Sandman had an awareness of the many dream worlds in Klonoa's universe and took notice of the traveling protector of those dreams. Grateful for Klonoa's accomplishments and efforts in saving dreams from destruction, Morpheus decided to summon the Dream Traveler to the Pantheon during a particularly disastrous event in the Dreamscape and then contributed to Klonoa's ascension as a reward afterward. Klonoa was nothing short of flattered upon learning of this and immediately befriended Dream, even if he found the Sandman to be intimidating.
      • Klonoa could not help but ask Dream if he was also the one who made him the Dream Traveler in the first place, but Morpheus answered that he did not and does not know who or what made Klonoa the Dream Traveler; Dream even ponders that being the Dream Traveler is an inherent aspect of Klonoa, just as being the personification of dreams is to himself. Nonetheless, the Sandman took pity on Klonoa for the forced goodbyes his role enforces, relating a bit with being isolated due to one's function, and told the Dream Traveler to just focus on the work and cherish the memories of his friends, which the cabbit took to heart.
    • Of course, it didn't take long for Klonoa to meet the "nightmare" members of the house and the Dream Traveler toom an instant dislike for them. With the exception of the Perfect Trumpet Thingy, who is harmless all things considered, the likes of Vaermina, Nightmare, Wizeman, and Freddy Krueger make Ghadius look tame (which is saying a lot) and Klonoa is quick to join the rest of the dream protecting deities should those fiends start spreading nightmares. Nightmare in particular had become a pseudo-Arch-Enemy for Klonoa as he's not only the most like Ghadius in nature and personality but the Emporer of Darkness took on Ghadius as a High Priest and ascended Joka into the Pantheon, which the Cabbit cannot forgive. As for the Perfect Trumpet Thingy, Klonoa still doesn't think highly of the thing and its tendency to spook people in their sleep for not being "perfect", always making an effort to tell the trumpet off whenever it does.
  • Indeed, Klonoa was beyond furious on learning about Joka's ascension, having hoped that the Pantheon would be untouched by the clown fiend. Though Joka is more often a bumbling fool and is always second-fiddle to a bigger threat, the Dream Traveler harbors the most hatred for Joka for killing his grandpa to obtain the Moon Pendant; even after coming to terms that he and grandpa aren't actually related, Klonoa is still enraged over the callous murder of an innocent life who regarded him as family despite true circumstances. Klonoa also knows from that moment that Joka is not to be underestimated, and has become further worried by the trouble Joka can accomplish on learning that he took on Garlen and Janga as heralds, both being dangerous villains who can easily cause mass harm alongside the clown fiend. Klonoa always makes an effort to confront Joka with whatever the harlequin is up to, be it assisting a villain in their evil scheme or trying to win in a tournament, and become extra determined to defeat Joka. And whenever Janga is involved as well, Klonoa can count on Guntz to help him out, since Janga killed Guntz's father and has it out for the cat's blood.
    • It goes without saying that Klonoa has a heavy dislike for other monstrous clowns in the Pantheon, with Dimentio standing out to the Dream Traveler for being most like Joka but being much more competent and sinister, with his ultimate goal being possibly the most despicable of all. That Dimentio is close allies with Joka only makes Klonoa extra determined to defeat Dimentio.
  • Klonoa and Guntz (specifically their Heroes incarnations) were one of the heroes Reiji and Xiamou encountered during their first recorded adventure, and naturally the two were pleased to see the young hero and bounty hunter again. It took Klonoa and Guntz a while to recognize Reiji and Xiamou, having not seen them in so long, but once they did Klonoa excitedly greeted the Shinra agents while Guntz simply shook their hands. Soon after, Klonoa and Guntz got reacquainted with the other heroes they encountered in that adventure with Reiji and Xiamou; Klonoa rekindling his friendship with Felicia in particular, who was overjoyed to see her fluffy, long-eared friend again. Morrigan was also pleased to see Klonoa again, finding him too cute to resist. Guntz, however, remembered how obsessed all the girl heroes were with hugging the two of them and quickly fled from the gathering, swearing like crazy as the girls gave chase to hug him. Klonoa, however, was content with the hugging (provided he could still breathe).
  • Klonoa met with Kirby one day while browsing the House of Food for a burger stand and the two adorable dream heroes became immediate friends. As they ate their favored foods, Klonoa and Kirby conversed on their past adventures, and the two were astonished by how much their respective worlds have in common with each other; the resemblance between basic Moos and the Waddle Dees being just the tip of the iceberg. The two also noticed how similar their default methods of attacking are, requiring them to "grab" and then "toss" enemies. Though Kirby is able to do way more with his ability to absorb the power of any enemy he swallows, which Klonoa found cool but also really creepy. Though Huepow, Lolo, and Popka were quick to tell Klonoa that he shouldn't be one to judge with the amount of Moos he tossed to their deaths.
    • Klonoa was soon introduced to Bandana Waddle Dee by Kirby and was immediately reminded of "Heart Moo", who a version of himself played volleyball with in one universe. The supposed "King of all Moos", Heart Moo is a standard Moo who wears a green bandana with a yellow heart symbol to distinguish himself from the rest of the Moos, just like Bandana Dee, and is also the friendliest of the Moos; rejecting the prize money and trophy in favor of keeping the volleyball as a friend should he win the tournament. The bandana'd Waddle Dee was amused by this revelation and hopes to meet Heart Moo one of these days, and took up an interest in volleyball in the meantime. Klonoa can often be seen playing some volleyball with Bandana Dee.
  • Klonoa initially didn't know what to think about fellow dreamwalkers, Madotsuki and Bedman, as their origins are as mysterious as his own, and their violent tendencies didn't help him in determining if they were friends or foes. But the Dream Traveler eventually learned about Madotsuki and Bedman's respective pasts and came to pity them; Madotsuki for living a lonely life and unable to accept reality, preferring to live in her dreams. And Bedman being stuck in a coma alongside his sister due to their bodies being unable to handle their great intelligence, with Bedman becoming a hitman in the hopes of finding a way to save himself and his sister. While Klonoa understands Bedman's plight, he frowns upon Bedman killing people in their dreams, though he's aware that Bedman doesn't like his killing either and hopes to use the power of his dream dimension to resurrect his victims. In any case, Klonoa avoids conflict with Bedman and has attempted to help both him and Madotsuki with their problems. However, the Dream Traveler found himself powerless to be of any aid since their troubles happened in the waking world of their respective universes, Klonoa unable to influence anything outside of their dreams. It doesn't help that Madotsuki actively avoids Klonoa whenever she encounters him in her dreams, preventing him from learning more and trying to be of emotional support to her.
  • Presea Combatir was shocked to see the mascot of Altamira's theme park within the Pantheon, whom she owns a costume of, and was delighted to meet Klonoa in person. Klonoa was suprised to learn that he's a mascot in another world and amazed at how realistic Presea's costume looks, and became fast friends with the girl. Klonoa felt sympathy for Presea on learning of how she was reduced to an Empty Shell due to experimentation and does his best to help her feel good emotions again. Likewise, Presea makes an effort to hang out with Klonoa for some more friendly fun that he could use, in light of his bittersweet fate.
  • Klonoa took an interest in Ned Needlemeyer when he learned about the boy's chronic nightmares, and became one of few deities who visits Ned's temple expressly to brave those nightmares. As to be expected, Ned's nightmares are no match for the Dream Traveler, Klonoa defeating them with ease, and very soon the cabbit became good friends with Ned. Klonoa often tries to help the boy with his anxieties that cause his nightmares, and Ned in turn seeks out opportunities to have fun with Klonoa, having become aware of the Dream Traveler's heartbreaking ordeal and wanting to be another friend he can play with.
  • Pac-Man recognized Klonoa as another character from his flagship company and was pleased to hear of his ascension, especially being aware that the Dream Traveler is one of the more overlooked members of the company. Klonoa in turn recognized Pac-Man as the character on his hat, which amused Pac-man to no end, and got along with the Yellow Fella. The two can often be seen eating together in the House of Food, Klonoa partaking in a hamburger (without tomatoes) while Pac-Man helps himself to... Everything he feels like eating.
  • Klonoa became acquainted with Sonic the Hedgehog after being mistaken to be from the hedgehog's universe by numerous deities. On meeting Sonic and his friends, Klonoa could see the resemblance between them and himself, especially in his appearance from Lunatea and onward, and decided to befriend the hedgehog and his allies. Sonic himself took a quick liking to Klonoa, being a fellow young hero of the wind who selflessly saves worlds from destruction (and also can't swim to save his life), and tries to comfort the Dream Traveler over his forced departure of those worlds.
    • Of Sonic's friends, Klonoa gets along best with Miles "Tails" Prower since they are both heroic boys who've suffered trauma (Tails having been the victim of bullying before meeting Sonic) but maintain a cheerful attitude. Certainly helps that Tails has the closest resemblance to Klonoa among Sonic's friends, the two loving to joke that they are long-lost relatives. Klonoa is also fascinated by Tails' namesakes, and doubly so that the fox is able to fly by twirling them super fast, while Tails is curious about Klonoa's Wind Ring.
      • Klonoa also loves hanging out with Cream the Rabbit, who has the heart of a hero and adventurer despite her pacifism and he likes to accompany her on her many wanderings through the Pantheon. Klonoa and Cream also bond on their ability to float in the air with their ears, though the cabbit is a tad envious that Cream is able to float for much longer and for much greater height and distance than he himself. Lolo also enjoys hanging out with Cream due to having mannerisms similar to herself, while Huepow is shocked by how similar-looking Cheese is to himself.
    • After meeting Sonic and his friends, it was only a matter of time Klonoa would meet their enemies. And to the Dream Traveler's great displeasure, he would be encountered by Dr. Eggman, who reminds Klonoa a lot of Garlen; a recurring enemy of his who is also a round, comical Mad Scientist specializing in robotics and constantly makes schemes for world domination. Though Eggman is a much bigger threat than Garlen could ever hope to be and his long list of crimes alone disgusts Klonoa to no end. The doctor himself considers Klonoa to be a potential annoyance and begun studying the cabbit to make countermeasures for him.
      • Klonoa and Guntz would also soon come across Nack the Weasel, also known under the name of Fang the Sniper, and Klonoa was absolutely baffled at the similarities Nack and Guntz shared: both being canid* hunters famed for wielding guns and even own distinct hoverbikes that they named; "Red Clan" and "Marvelous Queen" respectively. Naturally, Guntz and Nack developed an incredible hatred for one another, calling each other ripoffs, and immediately got into a gun duel, forcing Klonoa and other nearby deities to take cover as the two shot at each other. Of course, since Guntz's guns actually fire bullets whilst Nack was shooting corks, the fanged sniper had to resort to dirty tactics to keep up with the Golden Killer, but Guntz proved the superior of the two in the end. Nack swore vengeance and fled on his Marvelous Queen while Guntz smiled with satisfaction at besting his copycat. Though that joy was short-lived as the Pantheon's law enforcement showed up right after and sentenced Guntz to fix and clean the area he and Nack shot up, with Klonoa being to serve that sentence as well since Guntz is his herald and thus his responsibility. That experience didn't endear Nack to Klonoa, and on learning more about the treasure hunter came to regard him as a rival: viewing him as Guntz without any honor or redeeming qualities.
      • Deities have also noted similarities between Guntz and Shadow the Hedgehog, both being the dark-furred, edgy and mean foils to blue-clad and friendly heroes. And on meeting Shadow, Klonoa and Guntz could see what those deities meant. Fortunately, there are enough differences between the two that Guntz and Shadow don't view each other as fakers and have become allies due to their shared sense of solitude and justice. Though Shadow really wishes Guntz would speak with a cleaner mouth, as the swearing combined with his firearms and hoverbike reminds Shadow too much of how he behaved in his own game. Klonoa himself is on good terms with Shadow, recognizing him as a fellow hero, even if he feels Shadow could lighten up and be more friendly.
    • Klonoa would also soon meet the Babylon Rogues, rivals to Sonic's own team, who heard about Klonoa owning a hoverboard and challenged him to a race. The Dream Traveler put up a valiant effort to beat the trio of birds and did manage to get ahead of Storm and Wave in the final stretch, but Jet was just too fast for Klonoa to beat. Being a good sport, of course, Klonoa complimented Jet for his skill and vowed to improve his boarding to win next time, which the hawk stated he'll be looking forward to. Since then, Klonoa has been practicing his hoverboard skills and meeting with Tails for some upgrades to increase its speed.
  • Klonoa became befriended by Sora when the Keybearer heard about another hero who travel to many worlds and saves them from destruction. Both being one of the most loving and friendly heroes who are also young yet really tough boys, and wield iconic weapons that are among the most unusual (a ring and a key), Klonoa and Sora naturally get along great and consider each other kindred spirits to an extent. Sora was also amazed at how Klonoa is able to enter people's dreams, at least until the Dream Traveler told him about how he has no choice in where he goes or how long he can stay. Sora immediately felt sorry for Klonoa, knowing how much he'd be bummed out if he was unable to freely travel worlds and revisit old friends, and even though the Dream Traveler assured Sora that the Pantheon allows him to be with his closest friends again, the Keybearer comforted Klonoa by telling him that so long he keeps the memories of his friends in his heart, they'll always be with him.
  • Klonoa also became good friends with Avatar Aang, being yet another All-Loving Hero who is a young boy attuned with the wind and was born with the divine task of maintaining his world's balance. Aang could relate all too well with Klonoa on the burden of being a "chosen hero", as the revelation of being the Avatar caused Aang to be left out of games from the other airbending kids and then nearly separated from his beloved mentor, among so many other things. Though the airbender admitted that that's nothing compared to the burden of being the Dream Traveler, not wanting to even imagine having to leave behind his friends for an indeterminate amount of time. Of course, Klonoa thinks that the burdens of their respective roles are equal and is simply happy that Aang is in a good position now. Aang appreciated Klonoa's thoughts and praised the Dream Traveler for his heart and strength, and then offered to assist Klonoa in any situation. In the meantime, Klonoa and Aang like to get together to practice their wind abilities.
  • When Klonoa first saw Beerus, he thought that the god was Emporer Jillius, ruler of the Empire of Dreams whom he had helped before, and greeted the purple cat before realizing Beerus was someone entirely different, and a great deal bigger than any emporer. Though Klonoa's first encounter with Beerus turned out amicable, the feline deity having been in a good mood on being met by the Dream Traveler, Klonoa became very suspicious of the Destruction God for his job description alone. The Dream Traveler's wariness of Beerus only increased when he learned from other deities about how ill-tempered, petty, and jerkish Beerus can be, destroying whole planets just because a few inhabitants annoyed him. But realizing that he and his allies wouldn't stand a chance fighting Beerus, Klonoa makes an effort to stay on the deity's good side and try to get him to be a nicer person.
    • On a similar note, Klonoa does not trust Hypno at all due to the Pokemon's resemblance to Bagoo, Emporer Jillius' treacherous advisor, and Hypno's penchant for kidnapping children only cemented the Dream Traveler's distrust. Only things keeping Klonoa from deeming Hypno as an outright enemy is that the Pokemon is actually harmless, all things considered, and is not only allies with NiGHTS and Ysera but enemies with much worse deities.
  • Klonoa can often be found within the House of Sports on his free time, partaking in as much as the place has to offer. The Dream Traveler found himself being particularly fond of baseball, having no less than three different outfits, the last one reserved for the Christmas season. And of course, Klonoa never misses a chance to go snowboarding with his hoverboard, singing "Stepping Wind" all the way to the ends of each snowboarding course.
  • "Rupurudu!"
