Old Complete Monster cleanup thread

Welcome to the new Complete Monster (CM) cleanup thread! This thread is where we clean up or cut already-existing entries.

If you're looking to add new entries, please see the approval thread.

IMPORTANT: Before you begin any discussions on this thread, please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List. Here, you'll find explanations of the criteria for the trope as well as our rules/procedures for approving and cutting candidates.

What goes through this thread?

    Examples
  • Cut requests. If you believe a CM has been approved and they do not count, this thread is where you propose their removal. To know how to go about this, please see the FAQ folder on the Administrivia page, where the process is explained in detail.
  • If we ever need to consider cutting multiple examples without individually reviewing them (e.g. if we discover widespread plagiarism with a particular troper's CMs), the initial discussion will be on this thread and we'll then escalate to the mod team (as described here) to get a formal consensus if we decide to recommend a mass cut.
  • If an entry was put on the wrong subpage/YMMV page, you may propose where they should be moved to.
  • Full rewrites of existing entries, including expansions, trims, and ground-up rewrites. If your rewrite is approved by the thread, feel free to add it to the drafts page so that other users can check grammar and the like before it is included with the rest of the weekly swaps.
  • If an entry on a work's YMMV page doesn't match the entry on the media subpage, you can bring it here to discuss which entry works better.

What does not go through this thread?

    Examples
  • New candidate proposals - as stated before, those are done on this thread.
  • Unapproved wicks - if a Troper encounters either of these kinds of wicks, they can be cut with no approval.
    • Any CM link on a non-YMMV page - as a YMMV trope, it should not be linked on those pages regardless of any cleanup effort. The only exception is if the wick is being used within the definition of another trope.
    • If an CM link on a YMMV page refers to an unapproved character. If it refers to an approved character on any such page, the wick can stay. On the other hand, if the unapproved character being linked to sounds like they might have promise (and you don't feel like checking it out for yourself), feel free to mention it on the approval thread - someone may already know why they don't count, or it could invite a brand new discussion!
  • Proposals for images, quotes, and videos of already-approved CMs - quotes and images are proposed on the approval thread, while videos can be uploaded normally as they are screened for approval by the moderation.
  • Crosswicking examples to YMMV pages - if an example has already been approved and added to the main page, you do not require any special permission to add the example to a work's YMMV page (assuming the work has a page already). If a YMMV page doesn't exist yet, then you can make it yourself, but either way, feel free to just add the example without asking.
  • Small changes to existing entries - these can simply be done on a Troper's own prerogative with no approval.
    • Spelling and grammar fixes.
    • Pothole changes.
    • Minor rewordings.
    • Spoiler tags.

While these changes do not require any kind of approval, it is requested that should you make any of these changes, you do one of the following:

  1. Make the same changes on the relevant Sandbox page, then add the Sandbox to the list at the bottom of the drafts page. This will add the Sandbox to the weekly swaps and ensure that the edits end up on the relevant locked page. If the Sandbox is already listed, then once you make the edits, your job is already done!
  2. If you don't know how the Sandboxes work or simply don't have the time to find it, then you can simply post on the thread about the changes you made. Someone else can then make the edit on the relevant Sandbox and add it to the weekly swaps.
  3. Alternatively, you can simply request that the change be made directly to the locked page on the Locked Pages thread. Members of this thread keep track of that one, so we will ensure that the changes are made in the Sandbox so that it doesn't get deleted during the next swap.

Again, these changes don't require any approval, but we prefer to keep the entries on the YMMV pages and the locked pages the same in order to avoid any miscommunication or errors between entries, so if you do make the change, we would greatly appreciate it if you could ensure the change is made on the locked page as well.

As a final note, we do not care what other sites have to say regarding whether or not a character counts. We have our own criteria and they have theirs for their CM equivalents; while they are similar, they are not exactly the same and should not be treated as such. Another site removing a character from their equivalent should not be a reason why a cut is proposed here, and if this is the case, it will likely lead to mod intervention.

Other than this, once again, welcome to the cleanup thread, and we look forward to your contributions!

Then what about Historical Domain Characters? Fictional portrayals of real people can qualify as long as they meet every other criterion, but it has to be made clear that we're troping the fictional portrayal, regardless of whether it's a Historical Villain Upgrade or Truth in Television.

I noticed that on the Quotes page under Live Acton TV the Mind Flayer from Stranger Things is listed. Except the Mind Flayer is no longer listed as a CM anymore due to Season 4 revealing that Vecna shaped it and that it is his puppet with Vecna being the CM. While one could argue that what the Mind Flayer through Billy is saying here is Vecna speaking through him but it shouldn't say the Mind Flayer if the Mind Flayer isn't considered a CM anymore. Plus since we don't know for sure if Vecna was doing that shouldn't the quote just be cut altogether?

Vecna is doing that. The Mind Flayer is not some minion who serves him or anything, the Mind Flayer is just an extension of Vecna's will. The characters in the show and later the creators confirmed that.

Okay but the quote doesn't say that Vecna is saying it says the Mind Flayer so should it be changed to Vecna or mention Vecna as the one who said the quote? Since the Mind Flayer isn't listed as a CM anymore it was cut after it's true nature was revealed.

Yeah, it should be changed to something like “Vecna talking through the Mind Flayer”

Sorry, when the heck do they say Vecna controls the Mind Flayer? I distinctly remember Dustin saying something about how Vecna was like the Mind Flayer 's top general and don't remember anything in the season disproving that. Didn't One gain his power from the Mind Flayer after going into the Vale of Shadows?

Dustin's incorrect, the series has a scene of Henry/Vecna finding and shaping something he found in the Upside-Down into the Mind Flayer for him to use to speak through.

The "five star general" conjecture is debunked later in the season.

It has come to my attention that To Those Who Are Never Going Home was removed from AO 3, which is the only place it was platformed. Given that the fic no longer exists, I think procedure is to remove its CM entry.

  • The Book of Life: The ruthless Bandit King Chakal once stole the Medal of Everlasting Life that granted him invulnerability, before leading a siege of San Angel where he killed Joaquim Mondragon's father. However, the deity Xibalba stole the Medal back, causing Chakal's eventual downfall. Now in the present, Chakal sends his army to pillage the town of its wealth and jewels or burn San Angel to the ground only to be held back by Joaquim. Once learning that the Medal is being held at the town, Chakal leads his army to destroy San Angel and reclaim the Medal—killing Manolo's father in the process—to once again become an invincible warlord. However, once defeated by Manolo and his allies, Chakal decided to blow up the whole town and himself out of nothing but pure vengeful spite.
  • Expelled from Paradise: The High Officials of the seemingly utopian DEVA digital world deal with storage problems by "archiving" citizens deemed useless to isolated imprisonment. When the hacker Frontier Setter breaches their security, they order Agent Angela Balzac to hunt him down, and when Angela reports he merely wishes to speak to the people of DEVA, the Officials angrily archive her for refusing to destroy Frontier Setter.
  • GAMERA -Rebirth-: Nora Melchiorri is a member of the board of the Eustace Foundation, and primary leader of their conspiracy. The daughter of a prominent family descending from the Hemueden civilization, Nora previously secured her position by having her sister killed. Seeking to reinstate Hemueden's plans for the world, Nora and the Board engineer the awakening of several kaiju, with thousands of innocent people being slaughtered and devoured; the endgame being the extermination of the human race, save for those they deem "worthy" to inherit. To control the kaiju, the board seeks out a child with a specific genetic "code" to sacrifice. When Nora's treacherous niece, Emiko, attempts and fails to usurp her, Nora reveals a new trump card: having previously experimented on an infant Gyaos, Nora further mutates it before setting it loose to finish things off. Failing that, Nora attempts to brainwash Gamera with a virus to carry out their plans.
  • Voltes V: Emperor Zu Zambajil is the ruler of the Boazanian Empire, where the horned upper classes are the rulers and the hornless are little better than slaves. Zambajil engineered the overthrow of good-hearted cousin La Gohl when he discovered the latter was actually hornless, and proceeded to hold Boazan in his grip with the Fantastic Caste System, manipulating his cousin's son Prince Heinel into becoming his pawn and puppet. By manipulating Heinel, Zambajil is responsible for his actions, including his war of conquest on Earth with all the atrocities and death that resulted, all so that the Boazan Empire could gain more slaves. Eventually fearing Heinel's potential, Zambajil tried to have him killed. When Boazan is taken in the war and the hornless have won their revolt, Zambajil tries to flee and when confronted by the Voltes team, he tries to pin everything on Heinel and let his nephew take the fall for his own war crimes.

  • "What If Tiana Wasn't Turned Into A Frog?" Kidnapping Eli and Charlotte to kill them both, Facilier attempts to sway Tiana into joining him, proving himself to be simply a petty, selfish man who gave voodoo a bad name.

After hearing of the xenomorphs existing, he purposely has the colony of BH657 make contact with a possible nest to claim them as a potential weapon, which leads to the massacre of all the colonists except one young boy, with Robin showing no remorse for this. Desiring to make more money, Robin repeatedly impedes any attempt to wipe the creatures out and later locks Regina and Henry in a room with two xenomorphs, hoping to have them impregnated to bring the creatures back to Earth, while planning to kill all the remaining Marines to eliminate witnesses.
  • Satan himself, conjured from Hell by the machinations of Mark Dark, sets his sights on the lost victims who fall prey to the evil hotline. Taking over their souls, Satan possesses them and uses their bodies to commit murders so he can manifest. After being freed by a Satanic duke, Valak proceeds to haunt and eventually massacre the nuns of the Abby of St. Carta, all while taking the guise of a blasphemous nun to mock their faith. Possessing a farmer named Maurice, Valak begins a killing spree of clergy across Europe, purging St. Lucy's lineage before taking its evil to a boarding school, where it murders a teen girl and the school's headmistress out of petty cruelty. After failing to slaughter the students and burn St. Lucy's decedent Irene Palmer alive, Valak is sealed away inside Maurice, but manifests years later and attempts to force him to kill his wife. Desiring revenge after being exorcised by Ed and Lorraine Warren, Valak mentally assaults Lorraine with visions of Ed's death. Later possessing Ronald DeFeo Jr. to committing the mass murder of his family at the Amityville house, Valak then moves on to haunt the Hodgson family, taking control of the innocent spirit of Bill Wilkins to have him terrorize the family and prevent him from moving on into the afterlife. Infecting and killing countless people, the Parasite massacres an entire apartment complex and a wedding ceremony with its zombies, personally killing Tristana after having jumped into the body of reporter Ángela Vidal. Repaying the kindness of a special ops officer, Guzman, by leaving Ángela and possessing him instead, the Parasite has the crew of the ship Zaratustra killed for no reason other than wanting to enjoy more carnage, all the while planning to spread the infection to untold proportions.
  • Waiting for the Barbarians (2019):
    • Colonel Joll is a detached, emotionless man who arrives at the Magistrates's town and immediately begins subjecting the native "barbarians" to heinous torture that leaves many dead or crippled. In one instance, Joll tortures a father and son until the father dies so the son will talk; in another, Joll has a woman raped, her ankles broken, and her eyes blinded while forcing her father to watch. Using the information he forces from his victims as impetus to go to war, Joll leads a military expedition with intent to wipe out the nomads and pave the way for further expansion of the Empire.
    • Officer Mandel is Joll's sycophantic right hand, who takes over the Magistrate's town in Joll's absence. Mandel has his men frequently abuse the native population while Mandel works to strip the Magistrate of his title for being sympathetic to the natives' plight. Supporting Joll's brutal methods, Mandel has a group of nomads strung up with barbed wire impaled through their mouths and hands so they are forced to remain prostrate while Mandel and Joll have them beaten to death. When the Magistrate tries to stop the horror, Mandel breaks his arm, strings him up by it, and beats him further. When Joll's genocide campaign fails, Mandel immediately flees the town to save his own life, leaving his men to tear the city apart in a last ravishing of the natives.
  • The Black Farm:
    • Muck is a hulking monstrosity who is easily the worst of the Pig's creations. Sadistic and cruel, even by the standards of the Pig Born, Muck elicits fear throughout the Black Farm even from his own race. Abducting Nick and a woman named Megan to torture, Muck rapes Nick and then attempts to make him watch as he does the same to Megan. Nick refuses to, so Muck cuts off his eyelids. Muck then wraps Nick's legs in barbed wire and tries to force him to beat Megan with a hammer, cutting off his arms when Nick does not comply. After Nick is unable to eat the tough slab of meat Muck forces on him, Muck decides that Nick needs "stronger teeth". He yanks out all of Nick's teeth and then jams a handful of screws into his gums. Those whom Muck grows bored of torturing are placed in the "Needle Fields", rows and rows of spikes stuck into the ground upon which Muck impales his victims and leaves them to a slow death either of exposure to the elements or other Pig Born coming to feed.
    • Ryder is the depraved leader of the "Hooves of the Pig" cult. Under his direction, the cult has abducted countless women and imprisoned them to be used as breeding stock for the Pig Born. Certain abductees, such as Megan, are chained to Ryder's bed so that he can hack off bits of their flesh and eat them, and his room is littered with the bones of his past meals. When Nick meets with Ryder as part of his plan to infiltrate the cult and rescue his girlfriend Jess, he is unable to mask his disgust at the Villainous Glutton's eating habits. Ryder cuts off a piece of Megan's shoulder and insists that Nick eat it, laughing at him as he reluctantly complies and assuring him that the taste will grow on him. When threatened by Nick, Ryder proves unable to live up to the standards of his own cult as he cowardly pleads for his life.
  • "W Rękach Bestii" ("In the Hands of the Beast"): Norbert Blatkiewicz believes all modern young women to be "sluts", so he kidnaps them and tortures them for hours—or even days—to "purify them of sin" before killing them. When his latest victim, 24-year-old Iwona, escapes and lies in the hospital, Norbert intimidates her to be quiet or else he will kill her 6-year-old daughter. After Iwona does ultimately agree to cooperate with the olice, Norbert comes to the hospital and attempts to poison her food, and when arrested, he defends his actions that he was only "helping".
  • Mutant X: Mason Eckhart, the conscienceless head of security for Genomex, starts the series off already guilty of the torture and experimentation on just under a thousand innocent people to create the superpowered New Mutants. Eckhart murders the mentor of his hated rival Adam Kane, and frames the man's death as an act of New Mutant terrorism to give him an excuse to begin the persecution of mutantkind. Those Eckhart can't coerce into joining Genomex are either killed or sent to the stasis pods; those podded remain excruciatingly aware of every second, with one victim likening it to being Buried Alive. Eckhart is also a horrible excuse for a boss who tortures, murders, or pods his minions for the slightest of failures, while simultaneously letting them torture and kill their way through entire buildings full of innocent people. Eckhart orchestrates a variety of schemes to try and exploit mutantkind, from a Poison and Cure Gambit meant to wipe out any New Mutants who don't surrender to his cure; to poisoning one of his own mercenary teams with an experimental super soldier serum that leads to the death of all but a few members. Long after his death, Eckhart's most heinous posthumous gambit is revealed near the series' end: Deciding that if he can't control mutantkind, then they didn't deserve to exist, Eckhart ordered a sleeper agent to round up all of mutantkind in a traveling death camp, then condemn their souls to eternal agony.
  • Ashiok is a shadowy Planeswalker that uses their power over dreams to spread deadly nightmares throughout the Multiverse to discover the perfect embodiment of fear. Coming to the faith powered plane of Theros, Ashiok uses their nightmares to manipulate two different societies to war and drives the king of one city to suicide after Ashiok's crimes lead to the slaughter of his city. Becoming invisible to the gods in exchange for their previous actions, Ashiok spreads nightmares to create a false god as a test and ultimately creates a sleeping curse to force everyone on Theros into a never ending nightmare to feed off their suffering forever. When the curse is stopped, Ashiok travels to the plane of Eldraine affected by an unrelated sleeping curse. Ashiok sides with the witches causing it and creates nightmare creatures to hunt the survivors and reenact his eternal torture.

Nobu becomes a partner of Wilson Fisk's syndicate, pushing Fisk into having an elderly tenant murdered for her property. After Fisk's downfall, Nobu takes proxy control of the Roxxon Corporation, seeking out a new Black Sky—a human weapon groomed to serve the Hand. To this end, Nobu abducts and tortures an employee's teenage son, Daniel, and several other teenagers to drain their blood. Nobu subjects them to chemical brainwashing when rescued, with Daniel killing his father, before Nobu finishes them off. Realizing Elektra is a Black Sky, Nobu intends to push her to her "destiny", and for Daredevil's interference, Nobu has twenty people Daredevil had previously saved taken hostage, intending to execute them to draw him out.
  • JT Music's Amanda the Adventurer song "You're the Answer": The Demon, Paimon, is portrayed here as a Sadistic and violent entity who possessed Rebecca—aka Amanda—within the animated show, using its powers to kidnap children en masse and suck them into the television. Psychologically torturing Rebecca and Wooly, who is heavily implied to have been a person once, Paimon takes control of Rebecca through Amanda as it proceeds to kill Wooly when he attempts to warn the viewer before turning into a monster, attacking and eating the viewer in the end.

After a failed goblinoid rebellion a millennium ago, Spidergland took to oppressing non-dark elf races to ensure her reign continues, enslaving the kobolds in her deadly mines, and forcing the nilbogs to live in perpetual poverty, while having her daughter Spidervenom locked away, knowing the latter will be a better ruler. Allowing the Cerulean Kingdom to commit genocide within her realm just as long as she’s untouched, Spidergland later sells out her sister Spiderweb and her entire realm to the Cerulean Kingdom, willing to risk the lives of her entire populace just as long as she gets to live.
  • Starfield: Lucas Drexler is the CEO of Infinity LTD, dedicated to outdoing the rival Ryujin Industries no matter the cost. Drexler then uses the technology to conduct a batch of heinous, lethal experiments on hapless patients unaware of the danger, with Drexler's only concern as the bodies pile up being the money to be made when the technology is perfected.
  • Supernatural Academy: The Dragon King is a powerful dragon-shifter who started a war of conquest that devastated the Faerie realm. Defeated and sealed by the combined efforts of supernaturals, he cursed the descendants of the individuals who defeated him to be his servants when he returns to either destroy or conquer the human world, leading to the creation of the Dragon Marked. After being freed by the efforts of Archibold Kristov and the East-West Dragon Marked twins, the Dragon King rewards them by brainwashing the twins into his slaves and burning Kristov alive. He tries to kill Mischa and Jessa as a prelude to raining death and destruction on humans and supernaturals alike.

Hello everyone, I’m a little sick and haven’t read the answers to 380 yet, I’ll take a look in the next few days. I hope no one thinks negatively about me and my thoughts were clear. A couple of things.

1. First, the reduction of Pandaka Panay's entry. His “Day” of execution is completely behind the scenes. After one story mission, his propaganda trailers will announce that the day of execution will be set, but the problem is that we never see it or the consequences of the execution itself. Just a couple of news from his trailers, where in one she will be appointed and invites citizens to watch it, and in the other he reports that it was successfully carried out and invites citizens to pick up a photo of the execution. All. Apart from the fact that these two pieces of news will be repeated. In the plot itself, as far as I remember, there is no mention of this at all, no mission related to the Day of Execution, nothing. I became interested and even tried to find this place, but to no avail. So it's hardly worth mentioning when in the game itself it's just a mention after a couple of messages that are very easy to miss.

Old.

Just Cause 2: Pandak "Baby" Panay is the oppressive and brutal dictator of Panau. Having usurped and assassinated his father, Panau's previous, benevolent, president, Panak immediate begins his regime by stripping away the rights of his citizens, and increasing his power in the military. If anyone questions his government, he has them tortured and killed. During the revolution, Panak has innocent civilians arrested, tortured and sometimes killed for minor offenses. When the prisons became full, Panak orders an Execution Day to put all prisoners to death. After a botched attempt to kill him, Panak retaliates by ordering a nuclear strike against Russia, America, China, and Japan, whilst attempting to kill Rico Rodriguez, promising to make his suffering legendary.

Proposed.

Also an expansion of the recording of Father Mathias and the roach scientists. Matthias added his murder of Roy (his personal villainy), and the scientists threw away a sentient bunch of cordyceps, considering it a failure, which ultimately reanimates Leif's body.

Bug Fables: The scientists in charge of Upper Snakemouth are a duo of sociopathic cockroaches who sought to recreate the Everlasting Sapling's incredible powers, no matter the cost. In hopes of achieving immortality without the sapling, they kidnapped innocent bugs and would subject them to inhumane experiments that would destroy their minds and turn them into feral cordyceps zombies and throw away a reasonable bunch of cordyceps, considering it a failure. Though long dead thanks to falling prey to their own hubris, the victims they left behind infest Snakemouth Lair as a haunting reminder of the atrocities they committed in their arrogant bid to create something even stronger than a god.

Tomb Raider (2013): Father Mathias, upon being stranded on Yamatai island, tricks many of his fellow survivors into sailing off said island to prove that escaping by boat was impossible, uncaring about their deaths. Forming the Solarii Brotherhood based around the aforementioned Himiko, he only uses the Sun Queen to distract his followers while he tries to escape alone, showing no true loyalty to her or his cult; he has his initiates go through days or even weeks without food or water, with many driven to cannibalism. While tracking down the survivors of Dr. Whitman's expedition, Mathias and his army attack Lara and Conrad Roth's helicopter hovering site, and ultimately throws an ax to kill Roth. Callous to the deaths of his followers and allies alike, Mathias kills one of his own for objecting to his order to blow up a bridge some his men were on, and leaves Dr. Whitman to his death after convincing him to betray the other survivors. He then attempts to sacrifice Samantha Nishimura to Himiko, knowing that this would free her and doom the entire world.

2. Now the most important thing. I have a candidate for removal that I am confident in.

Tonight We Riot: Chet Whippleton III is the CEO of Whipple Co., and the despotic ruler of an island nation dominated by his corporation. As CEO, Whippleton subjects his workers to abysmal conditions, often forcing them to take more than one job with little pay and any attempts at peaceful protest being violently put down by police and armed forces. When a revolution starts in response to Whippleton's brutality, Whippleton sics machines on the revolutionaries, declaring that their deaths will allow him to gain more profit for his shareholders. As the revolutionaries liberate their country from Whipple Co., they discover that Whippleton has been developing deadly inflammatory material and special toxic sludge for mass consumption; said toxic sludge turning anyone who consumes them into mindless mutants. When confronted at the top of Whipple Co., Whippleton declares himself to be superior to his workers simply because of his wealth and how he inherited his father's company, and that without him, no one will be able to create jobs and the economy would be ruined if he was to be overthrown.

He has no redeeming qualities, the guy is an obnoxious jerk and on paper he's pretty bad. That's the point. On paper. The problem is that it lacks emotional weight. Let's point it out right away. His main crime is his terrible treatment of his female workers and his production of deadly inflammatory materials and special toxic residues that turn people into mutants. The rest is standard. Brutal rebellion suppression? Bad, but standard, plus we don't even know if anyone was badly hurt or if there were deaths. The same goes for setting a machine on revolutionaries, this is a standard attempt to suppress a riot.

Now comes the fun part. His horrendous treatment of female workers sounds awful on paper. Problem? This is not properly shown. We see only three 3 slides, where yes, we see 3 unhappy people (on the 1st slide you can see others, but their faces are not visible, although they obviously feel bad) and the game itself shows this in fact in one word. “They felt bad.” That’s all. The story doesn’t go deep into how terrible the conditions are, just 3 slides with unhappy workers and words like “they felt bad.” Sorry, but I think this is very small and too general for a CM, especially when it is one of the villain's main crimes. This is very reminiscent of those two dogs from some rip-off that Captain Knox offered last year, where they seem to treat dog children horribly, but the story doesn't delve into how terrible it really is and just describes them as "they feel bad, they're in pain." That's it. This ends up looking like just the standard evil treatment of tyrant villains. It's the same here.

Finally, the most important thing is his creation of materials and sediment that turn people into mutants. It’s even worse here, since it’s just said in the newspapers (before each level there is a newspaper from the authorities) and literally only in them it is said that this substance seems to turn people into mutants. And that’s all. The revolutionaries are not horrified by this, the game itself doesn’t even focus on this emphasis, this seems more like a way of introducing a new enemy, rather than a terrible and monstrous crime. And about the sale of these things and further consequences. This is hardly mentioned. And in general, everything is mentioned so carelessly that.....it’s simply not even close to the level of CM. Their actions should always be shown clearly and fully, especially their worst crimes, and not in a "they had it bad" way or in a casual way. The game doesn't focus on them, which only makes them seem less horrific than they could be.

Generally? Whippleton seems like a simple yes on paper when you hear all his crimes. But when you see how careless or standard they are portrayed? It's just not the same. Moreover, when the revolutionaries rebel, the game simply forgets how bad it was for them. There are no injuries or stress. And the use and sale of substances that create mutants is not seen as catastrophic, unlike the sale of cocaine to Tempenny or Rascalov from you know what franchise. Recently Alberto Fussar was proposad to Lighty and the way he interacted with his workers was the true level of CM. I quote, “We see the complete hell into which Fussard turned Guarma. He enslaves people, works them to death, and simply kills them en masse when they try to resist. Torture and cruelty? It's just a normal day at work for Fusar." That's it. That's how terrible the treatment of workers must be. To be fair, Whippleton isn't treated like a horrible and vile monster, but like a standard greedy corrupt corporate executive and his crimes are effectively portrayed as typical mistreatment of employees.

Note that in his proposal xie323 mentioned that at the end of world 1 he destroyed most of the factory town. Uh, with all due respect, it’s not entirely clear why he thinks that way. Whippleton simply viciously tells the revolutionaries to enjoy their victory and flies off with a sinister laugh. That's all. There is no explosion even close. Honestly, after reviewing the full walkthrough, I was only more convinced that he wouldn’t even come close.

Here's the walkthrough itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3QCjSGSr38&t=836s

His treatment of his workers is shown at the beginning. 32.50 - 45.10 world 3 is shown in which substances that turn people into mutants are mentioned. If you want to see for yourself, then decide for yourself, emotional action is enough. For me personally, no and that's why I'm all for "Cut." xie323 did a very good job, but his candidate is a perfect example of a villain who seems like the perfect CM, only for the game itself to portray him in a generic way. The last thing I will say is that the walkthrough is not entirely English, but at the beginning there is an explanation in English, and in the 3rd world.... to be honest, I don’t think that words will change anything. It's important to see how his worst crimes are portrayed.

Sounds like a cut. Also, was I wrong? Is cutting CMs from fanfics that were taken down not standard procedure?

I was going through the Monster page for Yugioh, and I noticed that the Doktor from Arc-V wasn’t on there despite being listed in the Arc-V YMMV. Could someone update the page to include him, please?

I don’t know; I wasn’t the one who proposed him or wrote his effortpost. I’m guessing he was approved though, going off of how his EP was written.

[up] I searched for an EP and didn't find one, so he was probably unapproved.

[up] I cut the entry with the reasoning of it being unapproved and linked to the proposal thread. Although I haven't seen ARC-V in years, I personally don't feel like the Doktor will count, as all I remember him doing and all the writeup indicates is brainwashing 4 people, even if he's a sadist about it.

Cut Whippleton.

And since we're cutting a villain for their crimes not being focused on enough, I may as well throw in a formal cut to Bagura from the Bomberman series. I already wrote a cut post for him a little while back—just replace "graphical limitations" with "narrative focus". There's no discussion on the potential damage of his Colony Drop on Planet Bomber or anything.

YMMV.The Flash Eobard Thawne is a subpage of a character page subpage (and covers multiple works). That is not allowed. Can you make sure the Complete Monster entries go to the correct work page/media subpage sandboxes, if they aren't already there?
