    A-H
  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • Colette is a WAY worse example of this than usual as getting ghost powers have made her even more entitled and possessive toward Danny. She's even fine with trying to kill Star and make him hers by force.
    • Danny is able to convince Misty that Danny Phantom only pretended to go out with Starlight Spirit to get Paulina off his back since she's almost as bad as Colette in this department.
  • Accidental Misnaming: Colette calls Misty "Megan" during their first meeting at the water park since she doesn't care enough to remember her name.
  • All for Nothing: In the end, Colette accomplishes nothing but losing her new ghost powers, getting beaten up by Team Phantom, and making a new dangerous enemy in Misty, who curses her twice.
  • Alone with the Psycho: An empowered Colette kidnaps Danny and holds him prisoner in the top floor of the Milton Hotel in Polter Heights until Team Phantom shows up to save him.
  • Amazonian Beauty: It turns out that Star's sudden weight gain was due to developing muscle, especially around the arms and legs. Danny pretty much drools over her new look.
  • Amazon Chaser: After Colette is defeated, Star wastes no time in beating the stuffing out of her as payback for all she's done. Misty is disturbed by this, while Danny (in Phantom form) calls her "Awesome".
  • Ambition Is Evil: Colette's growing God complex and desire to take over the world thanks to her powers drive her to even worse villainy than she's known for.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me: An empowered Colette is willing to use threats and violence to try to get Danny to be with her.
  • Anger Born of Worry:
    • Valerie is furious when she learns Star has been crash dieting again, concerned for her friend's health. She points out that Star almost fainted the last time she tried this in eighth grade.
    • Maurice and Angela are similarly angry with Tucker after Sam informs them of his all-Nasty Burger diet.
  • Artistic License – Law: In-Universe example. Star points out to Danny that getting a restraining order against Colette will be difficult because she's a minor who they have no evidence of being a threat. Star's explanation makes Danny wonder how Sam's parents were able to get a restraining order against him and speculate they bought their way into the system.
  • Ask a Stupid Question...: As Misty is fretting over Colette destroying the enchanted necklace (negating their chances of undoing her wish), Tucker asks if she can't just get another one or fix it. Naturally, Misty is NOT amused.
  • Asshole Victim: Colette, both times:
    • Misty punishes Colette twice for her threats and racist comments by using magic to humiliate her with bad luck, then electrocute her with lightning.
    • Star, Sam, Jazz, and Valerie beat Colette to a pulp after she loses her ghost powers.
  • The Atoner: Played straight with Misty who helps Team Phantom defeat Colette, promises to move on from Danny for real this time, and surrenders her spell book and other artifacts to Team Phantom, even if it means losing her powers. Unfortunately, it’s subverted in the end when her spell book not only repairs itself, but becomes sentient and manipulates Misty into continuing her obsessive pursuit of Danny.
  • Atrocious Alias: None of the names Colette comes up with for her supervillain persona are good but the worst one of all is “Impératrice Royale Poltergeist”.
  • Attempted Homewrecker:
    • Paulina still stubbornly believes she can steal Danny Phantom from Starlight Spirit even when Dash informs her there’s no chance of that happening.
    • Colette becomes an even worse example of this when she gets ghost powers as she's now fine with claiming Danny by force and permanently getting rid of Star.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Colette doesn’t tolerate anyone keeping Danny away from her, especially not Danny himself.
    • Colette does not appreciate Team Phantom humiliating her, especially by getting her covered in garbage.
    • Misty, Valerie, and Team Phantom don’t approve of being called sidekicks.
    • Misty is offended over being called a “witch” instead of a “sorceress”.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Misty and Colette become more fearful of Star when she dishes out a rather brutal beating to the latter.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: When Misty's re-formed spell book returns to her, it pretends to be a supportive parental figure/teacher by granting her a magical "enhancement" and promising to help her gain everything she desires, all while manipulating her for its own sinister agenda.
  • Blunt "Yes": A superpowered Colette gives this response when Danny asks her if she's planning on taking over the world.
  • Book Dumb: Danny thinks it was Odysseus who flew too close to the sun and fell, until Star corrects him that it was Icarus.
  • Boisterous Weakling: Twice Colette thinks she can bully Misty into keeping away from Danny with her family's name and wealth, but it just results in her getting cursed with bad luck, then being hit with lightning.
  • The Bore: Danny prefers being unconscious over listening to Colette go on about herself, especially since the ego boost from her ghost powers makes her even more annoyingly pompous than usual.
  • Boyfriend Bluff: Discussed and Gender-Inverted. To clear Star from Misty's infidelity accusations without giving away his secret identity, Danny claims that Phantom pretended to date Starlight Spirit (with his consent) to stave off Paulina's advances.
  • Brainwashed Bride: Gender-Inverted and subverted. An empowered Colette tries to use Misty's magic necklace to wish for Danny Fenton to love only her but it fails because Misty refuses to grant it.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Unlike Colette, Star shows she doesn't need ghost powers to kick butt.
  • Brought Down to Normal: After having her wish granted, Colette loses her ghost powers and is completely helpless against the beating Team Phantom subjects her to.
  • Brutal Honesty:
    • Dash bluntly informs Paulina that she has no chance with Danny Phantom, especially since he’s already dating Starlight Spirit.
    • Danny still makes it crystal clear he’ll never be with Colette, even when she's threatening him with her powers.
    • Even when being threatened, Misty tells Colette that Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom deserve way better than her.
    • Sam bluntly agrees that the situation with Colette is Misty's fault.
    • Team Phantom and Misty make it clear to Colette they don't care how injured she is after Star gives her a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Colette tries twice to intimidate Misty into staying away from Danny, but all this does is make the sorceress punish the stuck-up French girl for her rudeness. First by cursing Colette with bad luck so she's humiliated at the water park, then having her struck by lightning just after she was hospitalized.
  • Cain and Abel: After receiving ghost powers, Colette’s hatred for Star has grown to murderous levels since she’s okay with killing her stepsister just to finally get her out of the picture and make it easier to steal Danny for herself.
  • Call-Back: Danny mentions when Sam's parents got a restraining order against him in "Control Freaks" that they only agreed to get rid of if she wore whatever they chose for a week.
  • Can't Take Criticism: Paulina throws her low-fat frozen yogurt at Dash hard enough to knock him down when he points out to her that she has no hope of stealing Danny Phantom from Starlight Spirit.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl:
    • Paulina becomes an even more irritating one than usual because she won’t stop whining about Starlight Spirit returning to Amity Park. Even the A-Listers get fed up with her ranting.
    • Colette and Misty develop a mutual contempt upon learning they both have a crush on Danny, trading insults whenever they bump into each other while stalking him and Star.
  • Comically Missing the Point: An empowered Colette is too egotistical to notice that Sam and Starlight Spirit are mocking her when they say she has an ego bigger than Russia because as far as she’s concerned, “Russia dreams it had someone as amazing and beautiful as me!”.
  • Compressed Vice: Tucker becomes unhealthily protective of Nasty Burger and ups his Big Eater habits to prove eating their food all the time isn't wrong, a sense of loyalty he never displayed before.
  • The Corrupter: The spell book reveals itself to be this when it reinforces Misty's worst impulses just as she's teetering on the brink of a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Defiant Captive: Even when kidnapped and unable to use his ghost powers out of fear of being exposed, Danny refuses to join Colette in her insane plan to take over the world and tries to flee from her every chance he gets.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Misty summons a (harmless) ghost to the flea market to scare everyone away in order to make it easier for her to find Danny, not considering that the ghost might cause him to flee too.
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: No matter how powerful Colette becomes, Misty, Valerie, and Team Phantom still insult her and go out of their way to stop her rampage.
  • Dirty Coward: A de-powered Colette can do nothing but spout ineffective threats before Star inflicts a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown on her.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Colette cruelly demeans Misty just because the latter accidentally bumped into her.
  • Distinction Without a Difference:
    • Colette doesn't see her actions at the flea market as stalking Danny, but "discovering when and where [he] will be" to "ensure [they] meet and talk". Star retorts that is stalking.
    • When Danny accuses Colette of holding him hostage in the Milton Hotel, she denies the allegation and says that she just "relocated [him] despite [his] vocal disapproval". Danny retorts that's kidnapping, which is exactly what taking a hostage is.
  • Distressed Dude: Danny is kidnapped and taken to the Milton Hotel by Colette, who has become an even bigger menace thanks to acquiring ghost powers which have given her a god complex and made her murderously possessive of him to the point she’ll hurt him for defying her. Plus, Danny can’t use his ghost powers out of fear of being exposed, requiring Team Phantom to save him.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: When Danny Phantom arrives to help, claiming Starlight Spirit called him, Misty remembers that Starlight and Phantom are a couple... and believes that Star is two-timing Danny Fenton with Phantom, not realizing they are the same person. Team Phantom gets annoyed with Misty jumping to the wrong conclusion despite the evidence in front of her.
  • Drunk on the Dark Side: Getting ghost powers made Colette an even worse person than she already was since she quickly develops a God complex as she plots to take over the world and make Danny hers by force.
  • Dumb Blonde: Colette uses this insult against Star for supposedly not seeing how outmatched she is against the former. Star later pays her back with a punch to the face.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: It may have been stupid of him to be so blunt when Paulina was already emotionally unstable, but Dash is correct that she doesn’t have a shot with Danny Phantom, who's already going out with Starlight Spirit.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Star once again receives ghost powers, even if she does still lose them at the end.
  • Entitled Bitch: Getting ghost powers has inflated Colette's already massive ego to absurd levels, causing her to not only become even more relentless in making Danny hers, but want to conquer the world to get the glory she thinks she deserves.
  • Entitled to Have You: Colette has an even worse case of this regarding Danny after she gets ghost powers since she's fine with kidnapping him, trying to kill his girlfriend Star, and threatening him into being with her.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Misty, contrasting her with Colette.
      • She is so horrified by the sheer danger a superpowered Colette poses that she quickly fesses up to Team Phantom to help rectify her mistake.
      • Misty prefers not to physically harm others with her magic, even Star. However, she makes a serious exception for Colette because she's THAT unbearable by giving her bad luck in public to humiliate her, teleporting her to the middle of the city dump, and having lightning strike her as payback for her villainous actions and using racist insults against Misty.
      • Despite being intensely jealous of Star, Misty still sympathizes with her for having someone as horrendous as Colette as a step-sister.
      • No amount of threatening from an empowered Colette will make Misty grant her wish to turn Danny Fenton and Phantom into her slaves because, as far as Misty is concerned, they both deserve someone much better than a sociopathic Spoiled Brat like Colette.
      • She is disturbed by the No-Holds-Barred Beatdown that Team Phantom and especially Star give to Colette.
    • An empowered Colette wonders why she ever associated with the Dumb Jocks of Casper High when she sees Dash and his friends having an eating contest at Nasty Burger.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Even the A-Listers are annoyed by Paulina’s constant whining about Starlight Spirit's return to Amity Park.
    • Dash gives up on his pursuit of Starlight Spirit because he respects his hero Danny Phantom too much to try to steal his girlfriend from him. He’s fine with admiring Starlight from a distance and wanting to ask her if she knows about any other attractive ghost girls that are available.
    • As much as Star enjoys having ghost powers, she’s fine with giving them up as long as it means Colette loses her powers too.
    • Tucker was already losing his attraction to Colette but becomes even less interested in the Spoiled Brat when she develops megalomania as a result of obtaining ghost powers. He’s also fine with recording Team Phantom delivering her a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
    • Tucker might be desperate for a girlfriend but he’s capable of accepting rejection and is understandably creeped out by Misty’s stalkerish behavior toward Danny despite him making it clear he only has eyes for Star.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good:
    • An empowered Colette can't understand why Danny would have a problem with her kidnapping him or wouldn't want to rule the world beside her.
    • Also, Colette is actually surprised that Misty would refuse to grant her wish to make Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom love her regardless of how much she threatens her, not understanding that Misty refuses to make Danny a slave to someone as awful as Colette.
  • Evil Gloating: Colette's ghost powers made her even more vain and arrogant than before, as she loves boasting about her status as a “goddess destined to rule over peasants”.
  • Evil Is Petty:
    • An empowered Colette plans to make Danny Phantom her servant so she can have someone to help her conquer the world and give her foot massages, plus it’s a good way to spite Starlight Spirit and Paulina.
    • An empowered Colette gives Danny Phantom a Forceful Kiss just to mess with him and Starlight Spirit.
  • Eviler than Thou:
    • Misty is willing to join forces with Team Phantom to stop Colette.
    • After an empowered Colette rampages through town, Team Phantom realizes that there are worse people than Vlad who can get ghost powers.
    • Danny prefers dealing with Ember to Colette, especially when she’s driven power-mad by her new ghost powers.
  • Exact Words:
    • Misty tells Danny and Star she's on a date with a great guy she met. They think it means she's moved on from Danny. What she didn't tell them is that great guy is Danny, and she's using magic to stop time to hug and kiss him during what she considers a date.
    • Misty realizes too late that Colette's wish to "personally get rid of Estelle Joy Strong and Starlight Spirit at the same time" isn't to simply run Star out of town, but put her "in a body bag". Danny later comes up with a plan to exploit Colette's wording by luring her to the city limits where Star steps out of Amity Park's borders, technically fulfilling the wish.
    • After an amnesiac Colette gets out of the hospital, she accuses Star of somehow being responsible for her condition and ending up in a garbage dump. Star honestly tells Colette she didn't send her to the dump (which was Misty's doing), not mentioning her injuries.
  • Faux Affably Evil: An empowered Colette at first tries to sweet talk Danny into joining her by offering to make him king when they take over the world, but when that doesn't work, she resorts to threatening him.
  • Forceful Kiss: An empowered Colette gives one to Danny Phantom just to mess with him and Starlight Spirit.
  • For Your Own Good: During Empowered, Tucker becomes obsessed with Nasty Burger after a doctor criticizes its food for being unhealthy. To protest and prove that there is nothing wrong with Nasty Burger, he eats excessive amounts of fast food from there, much to the concern of his friends. He ignores how detrimental his actions are, even when they begin to take a toll on his health, still insisting that he isn't doing anything wrong and continuing his "protest". Eventually, it gets to the point where Sam bribes the Nasty Burger into banning him from the establishment, much to his shock. Tucker quickly figures out that Sam is behind this and calls to confront her about it. She doesn't deny it and says this trope almost word for word to justify her actions. Tucker remains stubborn and accuses Sam of trying to push her views onto people like she tried to do in "Mystery Meat". However, Sam argues it's not the same and she is doing this to protect Tucker's health. She later tells his parents what he's been doing, and they punish their son by cutting off his allowance, mandating vegetables in his diet for a month, and forcing him to get a physical checkup to make sure there's no lasting damage, with Tucker's father also citing this very trope.
Sam: I was gonna let you learn your lesson the hard way, but then I figured that you being in a hospital bed is just gonna make things harder for the team and your parents too. That and I don't actually want you to end up losing any arteries!
  • The Gadfly: After Star realizes that Colette is starving from overusing her ghost powers and crash dieting, she messes with her stepsister by mentioning Colette’s favorite foods (escargot, foie gras, caviar, and pigeon pie) just to make her hungry enough to stop for a bite, also buying time for Team Phantom to enact their plan to beat her.
  • Giver of Lame Names: Jazz still calls Skulker “Ghost X” since she considers her name better, much to Team Phantom’s annoyance.
  • A God I Am Not: Danny tells an empowered Colette that having ghost powers doesn't make them gods.
  • Hate at First Sight: Misty and Colette hate each other almost instantly upon meeting for the first time at the water park. While Misty tries to be civil with Colette at first, the snobby French girl's mean and elitist attitude causes her to quickly give up, and their disdain for each other only grows after finding out both of them are interested in the same Danny. Colette tries to intimidate Misty into staying away from Danny, but this, along with the fake redhead's racist insults, leads to Misty cursing Colette with bad luck.
  • Hate Sink: Colette was already this, being a Big Sister Bully to Star, Abhorrent Admirer to Danny, and Alpha Bitch to everyone else, but after she gets ghost powers, she lets them go completely to her already swollen head. Her entitlement and arrogance escalate up to the point she becomes a supervillain hell-bent on world domination and marrying Danny by force, even if it means killing Star, among others. Even before Colette got her powers, Misty instantly hated her more than she ever did Star because of her ego and bigotry.
  • Hidden Disdain Reveal: An empowered Colette admits she never liked Valerie after discovering she is the Red Huntress.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Even Dash lampshades that Paulina is this to Danny Phantom since her chances of being with him are non-existent due to him already having Starlight Spirit as his girlfriend.
  • Humiliation Conga: By the end of the story, Colette gets cursed by Misty twice, loses her ghost powers, is beaten to a pulp by Team Phantom, ends up hospitalized and is put on a specialized diet by Doctor Sampson to regain her lost weight from crash dieting.
  • Hypocrite: Colette accuses Misty of stalking Danny when they encounter each other at the flea market while they’re both stalking him.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point:
    • While Colette is a much worse Abhorrent Admirer and stalker to Danny than Misty ever was, she is correct that Misty is a stalker to Danny.
    • While Tucker doesn't deny Misty's point that it was creepy of him to ask for all her personal information after she agreed to see a movie with him in "13", he points out that he never resorted to Misty's levels of stalkerish behavior because he can take rejection and doesn't use creepy methods to make someone date him nor does he endanger others.

    I-Y
  • Idle Rich: Colette doesn't deny Danny's claim that she's planning to move back to France and keep living on her family's money without having to work a day in her life... at least until she got ghost powers.
  • I Have You Now, My Pretty: A superpowered Colette kidnaps Danny and brings him to the top floor of a high-class hotel alone with her, intent on forcing him to be with her.
  • If I Can't Have You…: An empowered Colette makes it clear she will seriously hurt and possibly kill Danny if he keeps refusing to join her; unsurprisingly, he still tells her to shove it.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Downplayed but while Misty is disturbed by the beating Star inflicts on Colette, Danny gets excited by it.
  • I'm a Doctor, Not a Placeholder: Tucker says he can't block Misty's powers because he's "a techno-geek, not a miracle worker".
  • Informed Deformity: Doctor Sampson informs Stella that Colette is underweight for a girl her age.
  • Insistent Terminology: Misty is a sorceress, not a witch.
  • Instant Expert: Colette quickly masters her newfound ghost powers, especially when she practices her ghost rays at the junkyard.
  • Insult Backfire: Tucker takes it as a compliment when Sam calls his stomach "the biggest beef processing plant on this side of the country".
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Team Phantom discover Misty was Faking Amnesia about the events of "Envied".
    • Misty learns Starlight Spirit's secret identity in this fic.
  • In-Universe Catharsis: Team Phantom beat up Colette as payback for kidnapping Danny and trying to destroy them and the city.
  • I Reject Your Reality: No amount of rejections from Danny will make Colette realize he can’t stand her.
  • Irony: A superpowered Colette rejects the name “Colette Spectre” since it’s too on the nose, so much so that only absolute idiots wouldn’t notice that they’re one and the same. Yet she still doesn’t piece together that “Star Strong” is “Starlight Spirit” or “Danny Fenton” and “Danny Phantom” are the same person despite noticing the similarities between both boys.
  • It's All My Fault: Misty says this word for word when Colette starts using her necklace to destroy Amity Park, and again when apologizing to the heroes.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • Misty is correct that Danny can do way better than Colette.
    • Star has every right to be completely furious and not at all charitable with Misty, not just because she lied about having amnesia and moving on from Star's boyfriend Danny, but her reckless use of magic has given Colette superpowers that she's using to terrorize the city and endanger Danny.
    • Colette has amnesia and can’t really prove it (and is blustering as usual), but she is right that Star is responsible (or at least one of the people responsible) for her injuries that landed her in the hospital.
  • Jerkass Realization:
    • When an empowered Colette reveals she is Star's stepsister, Misty realizes Star was not exaggerating about her family issues. She begins to feel remorseful over her past misjudgement of Star and dismissal of her troubles.
    • When Star later wonders why Misty didn't learn anything from her experience with Shi, she admits that her envy and spite made her unwilling to lose Danny to Star and refuse to take the latter seriously at the time when she compared her own life to Misty's, but realizes it's not a good excuse.
  • Jerkass to One: Misty quickly grows to hate Colette more than she ever did Star from their first meeting because of her elitist attitude and racist comments. Misty is even fine with using magic to hurt Colette, something she's never done to anyone before.
  • Join or Die: An empowered Colette does this to Danny by threatening to crush him if he keeps refusing to become her king.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: After depowering Colette, Misty erases her memory of the wish to ensure she won't become a threat again.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: In retaliation for Colette's haughty, racist attitude towards her, Misty casts bad luck on her at the waterpark, leading Colette to humiliate herself by slipping and getting a discarded ice cream cone stuck in her hair, which everyone laughs at. Later after being depowered, Colette is beaten to a pulp by Star, Valerie, Sam, and Jazz before Misty teleports her to the dump. To add insult to injury, her memory is wiped so she can't take action against them.
  • Let Me at Him!: Due to her extreme hunger and the fact that Colette became a supervillain, Star's temper was already frayed, and she loses it when Misty reveals she is out of power and thus can't undo Colette's wish yet. Jazz, Sam, and Valerie have to hold her back from throttling Misty.
Star: YOU IDIOTIC LITTLE WITCH! LET ME AT HER! LET ME AT HER! I'LL TEAR HER ARMS OFF!
  • Light Is Not Good: Colette fires bright red Hand Blasts and has a glowing white ghostly aura. She also seeks to become a megalomaniacal supervillain hellbent on taking over the world and making Danny hers by any means necessary.
  • Like Parent, Unlike Child: Danny always has a hard time understanding how Sam could be related to elitist snobs like her parents.
  • Loophole Abuse: Lampshaded by Misty when she points out Colette never specified in her wish "how to get rid of [Star and Starlight] or for how long."
Misty: That's the funny thing about magic: there's always a loophole...
  • Lust Makes You Dumb: Team Phantom distracts an empowered Colette by having Misty create an illusion of Danny Fenton to keep her occupied long enough to put into motion their plan to stop her.
  • Magic Must Defeat Magic: Danny's ghost powers are unable to permanently disintegrate Misty's spell book since it's a magical artifact and can only be destroyed through similar magical means.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Misty's spell book shows her fake visions of Star continuing to distrust her, and her and Danny being married with a son in the distant future, in order to spur her to continue her sorceress training and not give up on making Danny hers so she can fulfill her so-called "destiny".
  • Mistaken for Cheating: Upon learning Star is Starlight Spirit and remembering Starlight is known as Danny Phantom's girlfriend, Misty assumes Star is cheating on Danny Fenton with Danny Phantom.
  • Mistaken Nationality: Colette repeatedly calls Misty Japanese and doesn’t care when she corrects her about being Chinese.
  • Must Make Amends: Misty aids Team Phantom in saving Danny and stopping Colette to make up for inadvertently causing the whole mess. In the aftermath, she agrees to surrender her spell book and other artifacts to them.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Misty is horrified when she discovers granting Colette's wish for her own ends has transformed the latter into a psychopathic supervillain with very murderous intentions, putting both Star and Danny in grave danger.
  • Mythology Gag: Tucker's web name from The Many Dates of Danny Fenton, also authored by Flower princess11, is mentioned here.
  • Nausea Fuel: Danny is grossed out to no end by an empowered Colette’s obsessive attempts to force him into a relationship with her, especially when she brings up wanting to have kids with him which makes it increasingly difficult for Danny to keep his lunch down.
  • Nerves of Steel:
    • Even when not in ghost form, Danny refuses to cower or give in to a superpowered Colette, responding to all her bribes and threats with snark.
    • Misty refuses to be intimidated by a superpowered Colette no matter how much she threatens her into using her magic to grant Colette's wishes with the necklace.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Star, Jazz, Sam, and Valerie each deliver one to Colette after her powers are negated and Danny freezes her legs.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: When not indulging in Evil Gloating or obsessing over Danny, an empowered Colette prefers to focus on eliminating Team Phantom and their allies.
  • No Self-Buffs: Misty's family has a magical artifact, the Necklace of the Fallen Star, that grants wishes but it doesn't work if the person making the wish is the same one who uses the necklace.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: Colette becomes even more invasive and pushy to Danny when she gets ghost powers as she’s constantly invading his personal space and touching him without his permission.
  • No Sympathy: Team Phantom are overjoyed to watch Colette get a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown from Star. Tucker even records the whole thing.
  • Not Good with Rejection:
    • Once again, this is taken up a notch with Colette after she gets ghost powers as she threatens to squash Danny if he doesn't join her.
    • Tucker points out to Misty she basically became a stalker to Danny just because she won’t accept that he already has Star for a girlfriend.
  • Not So Above It All: While Jazz tries to be an adult, that doesn't stop her from joining Star, Sam, and Valerie in giving Colette a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown, as she hates her as much as they do.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: After obtaining ghost powers, Colette goes from a Spoiled Brat and Abhorrent Admirer to a megalomaniacal supervillain yandere.
  • Oblivious to Hatred:
    • Dash is still too dense to notice Starlight Spirit hates his guts.
    • Both Paulina and Colette are too narcissistic to notice that both sides of Danny don’t want anything to do with either of them.
  • Obliviously Evil: Danny has to spell it out to Colette that taking him to the Milton Hotel without his permission and keeping him there against his will is kidnapping and holding him hostage.
  • Oh, Crap!: After Colette is dealt with, Misty realizes with growing dread that Team Phantom now knows she faked her amnesia of magic, along with her role in Colette's transformation (and she doesn't have enough time or power to cast a memory spell on all of them).
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: An empowered Colette figures out that the Red Huntress is Valerie from the sound of her voice.
  • Paper Tiger: Colette tries twice to intimidate Misty into staying away from Danny by simply throwing her weight around and both times, the young sorceress-in-training uses magic to retaliate by cursing her with bad luck and striking her with lightning.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: Team Phantom tricks Colette into losing her ghost powers, then give her a vicious beating. Misty also uses her magic to curse Colette twice (by giving her bad luck at the water park and electrocuting her with lightning outside of the hospital), render her amnesiac so she forgets everything that happened on the night she got her ghost powers, and teleport her into the middle of the city dump.
  • Picky Eater: Colette prefers to only eat fine cuisine from high-class restaurants. When she gets hungry from a combination of crash dieting and overusing her newfound ghost powers, she raids a very fancy French restaurant for caviar.
  • Playing Hard to Get: An amused Colette thinks Danny Phantom is being this like Danny Fenton when he's grossed out by the Forceful Kiss she gave him.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Colette refers to Misty as Japanese, who later corrects that she's Chinese but the French girl doesn't care, hinting at some sense of racism. When she encounters Misty after her memory is wiped, Colette calls her "Rice Breath" to her face.
  • Power at a Price: Star and Colette learn that the downside of having ghost powers is that they take up a lot of energy by burning a lot of calories, especially if you use them too much and don't eat properly filling meals, so they’re left starving after a while.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: An empowered Colette considers destroying some random buildings to make it easier to search for Danny Fenton but decides against it since she doesn’t want to risk severely injuring him in the crossfire, otherwise she won’t get to make him her king.
  • Psychopathic Womanchild: Colette becomes an even worse example after getting ghost powers since she quickly lets them go to her head and plots to take over the world, get rid of Star, and make Danny marry her, and throws tantrums that are louder than her usual ones when denied.
  • Rejected Apology: Danny, Star, and their friends remain angry and distrustful towards Misty after her Heartfelt Apology, due to her feigned memory loss and her causing even more damage in her second attempt to steal Danny from Star.
    • However, after seemingly destroying Misty's magic texts, Danny gets everyone to agree to give her a chance to let bygones be bygones, acknowledging that she helped make things right in the end.
  • The Rich Want to Be Richer: Despite already being from a wealthy Old Money family, an empowered Colette tries to use Misty’s magic necklace to wish for $100 billion and/or legal ownership of the United States of America. It doesn’t work because the wish is powered by Misty's magic and she refuses to help Colette since she completely hates her, plus the wish is so outrageous Misty physically doesn’t have the power to grant it.
  • Sanity Slippage: Colette wasn't exactly stable to begin with but she grows more unhinged the longer she has her ghost powers.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: Colette can't figure out that Danny's mocking her when he sarcastically mentions her old "destiny" is to just mooch off her family's wealth in Paris.
  • Scare 'Em Straight: In the end when Tucker's parents take him to the hospital for a check-up, Dr. Sampson shows him an (apparently graphic) educational film about the dangers of consuming too much fast/junk food. This traumatizes Tucker so much that he finally stops his obsession with Nasty Burger and swears to never go on such a diet again.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Star and Danny speculate that Sam's parents were able to get a restraining order against him during Freakshow's Circus Gothica event by bribing a lawyer, since they clearly don't like Danny and are not above using their money to get what they want.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Sam calls Tucker Garfield when refusing to accompany him to any more food stands.
    • Misty only learns the catch with her necklace's powers after she turns to the next page in her spell book, prompting her to exclaim, "Who writes sentences like that?!" This is a reference to the Gravity Falls episode "Boss Mabel" where Dipper said the same line as he tried to use Journal 3 to help him and Mabel deal with a Gremloblin.
    • As Starlight Spirit, Star works out at a defunct train station by using trains as weights like Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible in The Incredibles.
    • After hearing a sonic boom, Star asks if it's "like the hedgehog".
    • When debating what to do about Misty, Sam calls her "Misty the Teenage Witch".
    • When the spell book restores itself, Misty is told that "The book is magic. Only magic can defeat magic..."
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Getting ghost powers has made Colette even more insufferably arrogant than she was before, causing her to develop a full-blown God Complex and desire to become a world conqueror because she believes she’s more powerful and special than she actually is.
  • Smug Super: Colette’s newfound ghost powers make her even more conceited and entitled than she already was, to the point she develops megalomania as she plots to take over the world and make Danny her king by force after eliminating Star.
  • Something Only They Would Say: When Colette's superpowered form first approaches Danny, her calling him "Mon Amore" is one of the things that clue him to her identity.
  • Spoiled Brat: Colette admits to Danny that her father taught her how to ask for things by telling her that if she wants something, you just say it and order a servant to make it happen.
  • Stalker with a Crush:
    • Misty is still in love with Danny and is willing to use magic to have "dates" with him.
    • Colette is an even worse stalker, and becomes downright lethal after getting ghost powers. One of her first acts is trying to coerce Danny into a relationship with her.
  • Strong and Skilled: Star is a much more experienced fighter and has more training with her ghost powers than Colette, which she demonstrates by humiliating an empowered Colette in their battles.
  • Sympathy for the Hero:
    • Part of the reason why Misty is willing to help Team Phantom is that she doesn't want Danny to be stuck dealing with someone as awful as Colette.
    • Misty also feels sorry for Star upon realizing she wasn't exaggerating about having a horrible stepsister after meeting Colette in person and seeing just how rotten she is.
  • Take Over the World: Colette's ultimate plan with her powers is to make the whole world serve her. Everyone is unimpressed by how outlandish and half-baked her ambitions are.
  • "Take That!" Kiss: An empowered Colette gives one to Danny Phantom just to annoy Star... and it works.
  • Talk to the Fist: After Colette shouts, "I should have been more specific!" upon realizing her wish was negated, Star shuts her up with a punch to the face.
  • Tantrum Throwing: An empowered Colette lets out a deafeningly loud scream when Misty refuses to grant any of her wishes. Tucker wonders if she is doing a Ghostly Wail but Star confirms that Colette always sounds like this when throwing one of her tantrums.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Star and Misty dislike working together but realize it’s necessary to save Danny and stop an empowered Colette. Plus, they hate Colette WAY more than they do each other.
  • Threat Backfire: Overlaps with Bullying a Dragon. Colette's attempts to intimidate Misty into staying away from Danny spur the sorceress to curse her with bad luck to humiliate her at the water park and have her struck by lightning at the end.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Misty's grandmother has been able to make a killing selling Shi's sauce at the swap meet, improving her business and even giving Misty spare pocket money to spend on herself each week.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Both Star and Colette temporarily get ghost powers in this story, which they lose at the end.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Colette was already a cruel, selfish Spoiled Brat but after her wish grants her ghost powers, she becomes downright homicidal with a raging God complex.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Valerie admits to Danny that during their A-Lister days, Star was pretty insecure about her appearance and weight so she desperately tried to keep a perfect figure with constant diets and exercising to remain a size small and be as thin as possible. Paulina only made things worse as she fed Star’s insecurities by always trash-talking others' weight in front of her, along with her REALLY unrealistic expectations on how an A-List girl is supposed to look and act, which includes not being allowed to be over 110 pounds and fitting into really small skinny jeans to meet her standards. Danny is disgusted but not surprised that his most annoying, self-proclaimed number one fan would give such toxic advice to someone who she claims to be a friend.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Star insults Colette for her over-reliance on ghost powers and utter lack of competence in fighting.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Team Phantom's attempt to confiscate and destroy Misty's spell book not only fails, but awakens its sentience. The book then begins actively influencing Misty to ensure she won't stray from her path as a sorceress, intent on training her for an unknown malevolent purpose.
  • Villains Never Lie: Colette admits to Team Phantom that she isn’t sure how she got ghost powers.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: Colette wants Danny Phantom as her servant because she finds him cute and his powers can help her take over the world.
  • Villains Want Mercy: A depowered Colette tries desperately to avoid a beating from Star by pointing out Stella would get mad at her, but Star doesn't care. She retorts that Stella would have to know what Colette did to deserve it, and it's totally worth potentially getting grounded for anyway.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes:
    • Misty is a downplayed example toward Danny as she's more of an Anti-Villain.
    • Colette becomes an actual villain in this story upon acquiring ghost powers as she develops a God Complex and is willing to use much more extreme methods to get with Danny, like trying to murder his girlfriend Star and threatening him into joining her.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend:
    • Star nearly strangles Misty after learning of her role in Colette capturing Danny, and has to literally be pried off her and held back by Jazz, Sam, and Valerie since they still need Misty's help. Misty even admits she's more scared of Star by herself than as Starlight Spirit.
    • Star also doesn't hold back AT ALL in her fight against Colette when rescuing Danny from her clutches. Once Colette loses her powers, Star unleashes a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown on her.
  • We Can Rule Together: Colette's proposition to Danny. Needless to say, he's not interested.
  • Weight Woe: Star begins to fear she's gained an unhealthy amount of weight.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • After Misty's confession, Jazz, Sam, Tucker, Valerie, and especially Star furiously chew her out on not only lying to them and still wanting to steal Star's boyfriend, but trying to get rid of Star by giving superpowers to Colette of all people.
    • Towards the end, Misty receives this again from the entire team, particularly Star, about her schemes putting Star and others in harm's way again.
    • Star and Tucker are called out by their family and friends for endangering their health with their poor eating habits (crash-dieting to lose weight for Star and binging on fast food for Tucker).
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Colette's new ghost powers only amplify her existing negative qualities to the point she develops a God complex and seeks to conquer the world, reveling in the destruction she causes.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Team Phantom and their allies have no problem attacking Colette when she gets ghost powers and uses them to terrorize the city.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Danny can’t bring himself to hit regular human girls, not even annoying ones like Colette. Although that goes out the window when she gets ghost powers.
  • Yandere:
    • Colette was already an obsessive and invasive stalker towards Danny who committed unethical acts to get his attention. However, gaining ghost powers turns her downright homicidal, being perfectly willing to force Danny into marrying her and kill Star if she gets in her way.
    • Misty is a non-lethal and more downplayed one. She is still obsessed with Danny and willing to use magic to steal him away from Star, but she doesn't want to hurt anyone in her "quest", including her romantic rival. By the end, she ponders letting go of Danny after everything, only to be convinced by her spell book that it's "written in the stars" for them to be together. Misty's feelings for Danny subsequently turn darker, to the point that she triggers his ghost sense after another "date".
