    Midoriya
Midoriya is dead in the "Present"
The narrative is basically Midoriya telling his origin story. It may well be that our narrator isn't Midoriya himself but the Vestige he will leave in One For All.

Midoriya will be haunted by the Zeroth Torch Bearer
All For One elaborated on the supernatural phenomena when he was haunted by the original wielders of all the quirks stolen or transplanted he currently possessed until relinquishing them. While Deku has had contact with the ghostly vestiges of the eight torch bearers, he has yet to encounter the individual who once had the Stockpiling Quirk, that same power wrongfully stolen by All For One and forcibly implanted into his little brother.

Midoriya will lose OFA by the end of the series
If the aforementioned Quirk to steal other Quirks exists, this would lead to Midoriya losing his powers. This will lead to Midoriya having to rely on his brains to save the world. It would be a Bittersweet Ending where despite losing his Quirk, he would prove that even the Quirkless can become heroes.
  • Possibly jossed, since it's revealed that due to the origin of One for All, it cannot be forcibly taken away, but it CAN be forcibly given.
  • He can be shot by the quirk erasing bullets in the final battle...
  • Or he is forced to give it up to Shiragaki/AFO in exchange for someone being held in ransom by them. (both tomura shigaraki/tenko shimura have *ten* in their name....
  • It's been revealed that OFA causes Rapid Aging to those that already had a quirk of their own. So what would it cause to someone that has as many quirks as AFO has? An agelessness quirk or not, they would wither away and die very quickly. Hence, All for One and One for All, and then... nothing.

Midoriya will be the final user of One for All
Due to certain circumstances in the future, Deku will be forced to retain One for All and end up not passing it on to another user, taking the power to the grave:
  • The whole world finds out that Deku's Quirk is originally All Might's and now a lot of people are actively trying to get the power from him, making it really difficult to find a suitable heir.
  • One for All has become TOO powerful, to the point where if Midoriya tries to pass it on, his would-be successor would explode to Ludicrous Gibs because his/her body cannot handle the concentrated awesomeness.
  • Midoriya ends up dying before he can find an heir.
  • Midoriya will lose one for all before he can pass it on. (either by the quirk erasing bullets/the final battle between Shirigaki/All for One)
    • Seems to be leaning to this, as 304 confirms One For All can only truly be used by Quirkless People, which are dwindling.

Midoriya will save All-Might with One for All itself.
To thwart Sir Night Eye's prophecy of doom that All-Might will die a gruesome and heart-wrenching death, Deku will, when his teacher's life is in peril, in a demonstration of admiration, reverence and sacrifice for his beloved idol, transfer One for All straight back to enable Toshinori to fight once again and save himself. All-Might will later in gratitude return the quirk back to his student and protege, Midoriya.

Deku will eventually train with the spirits that reside within One for All.
Deku has seen the outline of spirits which previously held the Quirk. He'll eventually have a Battle in the Center of the Mind with them in order to unlock even more power.
  • Now consider the fact that his power is passed down from one host to another. It has to start from someone, and that person will hold precious information regarding the power and quirk in general.
  • And since it passed down for many years, what if the previous host still has their battle experience and memory in general? Not only it will help Deku for his analytical power, he will gain good advantage for history class!
  • One for All can be passed onto people who already have a Quirk; All Might and Deku are the only past holders who were originally quirkless. It will be revealed that Deku will be able to use the Quirks of the past One For All users (Or at least, the ones who had Quirks).
    • The latter one has been confirmed, although for now Deku has unlocked only one power.

Midoriya does have a Quirk! His Quirk is that he can't be harmed by Quirks.
  • And that Quirk has been conspiring to make sure that no one finds out.
    • Alternatively, Deku lacked the trigger to activate his Quirk. And One For All substituted for it.
      • Double alternatively, Midoriya's real Quirk is high-speed situational analysis and nobody noticed because it isn't a very flashy power. It awakened early on in his life but was mistaken for a mere obsession with heroes by those around him. Midoriya gains a working knowledge of environments, objects, and even people after observing them even once and can quickly formulate plans to deal with them. The problem is that he has to observe something (touch it, see it, get hit by it) to gain that knowledge. This means his studies don't benefit his exam scores any more than the average person (information from reading is too far removed from real experience to trigger his quirk) and his kind heart keeps him from putting it to more brutal use against assholes like Bakugo.
  • More likely he might have a quirk that doesn't manifest by itself, á la Aluminium Gnats from Mistborn, where his power doesn't provide any benefit to him normally unless it is combined with another power. It might overcharge his other quirk (which would explain how he can use the full power of One For All without hulking out) or even completely redefine the other quirk (the representation of the usage of One For All is so different between All Might and Deku (Deku doesn't buff out, All Might doesn't get the glowing lines over the affected body part, only the power-boost is the same, which is pretty generic) that they might as well be completely different powers at a glance).
    • Another potential quirk is energy transference similar to his mother. Thus why his signature attack is a LONG-RANGE kinetic blast. He could always "push" things from a distanceñ but wasn't strong enough for it to even register. When amped up with OFA, though, it allows for the attack we see

Deku actually had a natural quirk but had it stolen
  • The theory is based around the fact that the doctor that told Midoriya he had no quirk looks a lot like All For One's doctor who is seen in one panel. That and one of Bakugo's old friends, the one with wings, is apparently the doctor's grandson, and Horikoshi very heavily hinted that that friend was turned into the flying Nomu that tried to kidnap Deku that was killed by Stain. So, if Midoriya's doctor was also All For One's doctor, it's possible he had strings pulled to let All For One steal Midoriya's quirk before anyone knew he had it.
  • And its theorized that Midoriya's quirk might have been regeneration, since that is what All For One needed to recover from his massive injuries.
  • Izuku was called 'quirkless' some time before the five year ago battle...
  • All for One is known to take any quirk he finds interesting or useful.

Midoriya is stronger than All-Might, or will be given time
Once he overcomes the control issues he has with "One for All", he'll be more powerful than All-Might ever was. This is because when "One for All" is passed on to someone else (confirmed after vision of previous hosts in chapter 33), a part of the previous host is added to it. With each new host, it has become stronger and stronger. Though this also might mean that Midoriya will only be able to unlock his full potential when All-Might loses all of his powers or dies. This also means that Midoriya's going to have a much harder time learning how to control it, since it's more powerful than All-Might's.
  • As Gran Torino commented that All Might is more easily accustomed to "One For All", he wouldn't do as much innovation than what Deku can do. Deku power will be vastly superior because of his Determinator mindset (more training), his analytical ability (more innovative application), and tied to a WMG above, use of hero gear, added to "One for All" power.
  • The fact that One For All gets stronger with each generation could be part of why Deku has so much more trouble handling its power than All Might ever did. All Might failed to account for how much he's improved One For All since receiving it, and how that would put additional strain on his successor's body beyond what he had to deal with when Nana gave it to him.
  • Add on the reveal of One for All having the previous users' abilities and those being slowly unlocked, Midoriya will eventually have more tools to use than what he had.

Midoriya actually has a hidden quirk
  • Much like the younger brother of All for One, Deku is not quirk-less but had a well-hidden quirk no one knew about because it is virtually useless by itself. His is the power to boost quirks exponentially. Since Deku inherited no secondary quirk, it couldn't manifest. One for All once it was passed to him is evidently dangerous, so dangerous the recoil breaks bones, tears muscles, it risks not only disfiguring the hero, but blowing off the limbs of the user. All-Might never had to cope with such deadly drawbacks. Deku is boosting the stockpiling quirk to insane levels, where he can speak to the previous seven deceased torch bearers and use their quirks as his own.
    • If he does have a hidden quirk, it could actually be ANYTHING that requires another quirk to work. Odds are AFO himself was assumed quirkless until the very first time he stole a quirk, which could have taken well into his teens to discover. The Japanese aren't keen on touching each other a lot. AFO's first quirk could have been taken during cuddles with a girl or something who had an amazing quirk. He could have thought about how much he wanted the quirk and suddenly had it. It was 200 years ago, so the toe joint thing probably didn't even exist.
      • Jossed, One For All can only be safely used by Quirkless people, which the spirits confirm Izuku is.

Midoriya will find out that those that pass on One for All will die
  • If it gets to that point, a huge Tearjerker is expected. I imagine scenarios like trying to reject the power all together. He may even think to quit being a hero.
  • If All Might does die, Midoriya will suffer a Heroic BSoD and blame himself for his idol's death.

Izuku is Endeavor's nephew
Given we never see what Izuku's father looks like, he may very well resemble Endeavor. Izuku's father changed his last name to Midoryia because he absolutely despised his brother and wanted nothing to do with him. Izuku clearly got his hair color from his mom, thus why he doesn't have his uncle's red hair (it's possible that Izuku's dad doesn't have red hair, either.) Endeavor doesn't realize he's related to him, and like his son thinks Izuku is the result of an affair All-Might had. Izuku will eventually realize that Tododoki might actually be his cousin (they kinda look similar but it's probably just me .-.) All-Might will probably tell Izuku about it (Endeavor wouldn't care) We never see Izuku's dad, and there's probably a reason for it (besides that he works overseas, won't they like, have a video chat once in a while?) Them both having fire powers doesn't seem like a coincidence, either.
  • The resemblance between Izuku and Todoroki can probably be chalked up to Generic Cuteness, but this theory is sound given that Hisashi's power is fire breathing, he's never seen, and Inko encouraging Izuku's fanboyism of All Might and desire to be a hero (of course Hisashi Midoriya would want his son idolizing a hero that's the ideological opposite of a brother he hates or fears). Hisashi may well have taken Inko's surname to separate himself from the Todoroki family.
  • Since it's shown that Endeavour wasn't really all that terrible until a few years after Shoto's birth, it doesn't seem likely that he'd have a brother who hates him so much that he'd break Japanese societal norms.

If Midoriya had not gained All Might's acknowledgement...
  • He could have become someone like Batman or Owlman. Granted, this is only an idea but given Midoriya's analytic abilities and the mistreatment he endured from people due to being quirk-less, it is certainly possible. Using technology and undergoing intense training, he would have become a "Badass Normal" hero or villain
    • I actually think it would be pretty funny if one day a super-rich Bruce Wayne Expy were to just show up at Midoriya's house one day looking for him. The guy is, naturally, a pro hero that fights exclusively using support gear produced by his company, and he wants to recruit Deku to be his successor/apprentice. Hilarity Ensues as everyone demands to know how he missed that what Deku did during the Sports Festival and a possible rivalry buds between him and All Might.
      • Imagine Batman!Deku falling under the influence of Stain. The Hero-Killer finds a kindred soul, a person whose sense of justice is absolute and who is despondent at the fact that he cannot become a hero. Some training and indoctrination later and the Hero-killer will have a successor more than capable of surpassing him.
    • I think the author mentioned that in his first draft, that was the plan with Midoriya... At least the Batman part. All he'd have had was some Capture Tape, and industrial strength Taser (which people without Quirks can own for self-defense) and his wit. All Might was still supposed to show up now and again for "You Can Do It!" moments like the boy scout he is.

Izuku will come up with new techniques and name them after Japanese cities and prefectures.
  • Ironically, Saitama Smash(?) will be a series of rapid-fire kicks.

Midoriya will fight the Shock-Absorption Nomu from USJ
The original battle between it and All Might was a major climactic moment for the USJ arc. It also provided the audience with the biggest example of just how powerful All Might was until the fight with All For One. A great deal has also been made in the aftermath of the Bakugo Rescue arc that Midoriya needs to find his own path towards being a hero rather than just emulating All Might. To that end, facing the first serious opponent we saw All Might battle and defeating him in a completely different way could become the culmination of the development of Midoriya finding his own identity as Deku.

Midoriya has a quirk that lets him analyze others
and it shows itself through his notebooks and skill at figuring out the abilities and quirks of others

Midoriya will end up passing One for All...to Ochaco.
Based on this theory.
  • Except a large amount of that theory reaches for things verging on Fan Wank, overanalyzing scenes that were meant to be taken at face value, and support a self-serving bias. So, I wouldn't take too much stock in it.
    • And more importantly :P, her name doesn't fit. The named All For One users to date all have names that connect to the order in which they receive it. All Might has the kanji for 8 in his name, Izuku's name contains "ku" which is an alternate pronunciation for 9, and Nana's name is Nana. But there's no reference to be found for "jū" or "tō" (10) in the name "Ochaco Uraraka".

Midoriya will ruin himself and end up sacrificing OFA and his status as a hero, While Ochako will become the Rescue Hero in his place.
Based on this theory.

Midoriya will become crippled and have to pass down one for all.
He would pass unto to someone he thinks is up for it and being the symbol of peace. And then gain robotic limbs, allowing to him be a quirkless hero in the end. Deku, the cyborg hero.

Izuku might, either at the end of the series or in an alternate universe based arc, give One for All to Tenya
The One For All users tend to have number puns in their names, and Tenya. Most likely in a arc ever goes into the hero staple of the alternate timeline.

Midoriya will be willingly given allies' quirks for the final confrontation
its stated quirks can combine when passed along, figuring this out before the final battle with All For One(or Shigaraki after All For One hands his power down to him) his Allys(prime candidates would be the various retired heroes like Iida's brother and Best Jeanist as they cant fight but still possess there quirks) will volunteer there power, letting Midoriya pass One for all to them and then passing it back with there own power added
  • That takes hours to kick in.
    • That wouldn't really matter in any scenario where he could go around to all these heroes and prepare he likely has time to wait a few hours, the time limit would just mean he wouldn't have time to get every power form every hero

Alternatively to the above: Midoriya will defeat All For One by giving him One For All
All For One(or more likely Shigaraki after being given All For One) will prove to much for Deku, no amount of heroic resolve can push him to be strong enough, and with the last of his strength he will punch the villain in the face, doing nothing at first, only for him to reveal his hand is bleeding and they swallowed a bit of his blood, transferring One For All to them, and do to how quirks combine when passed rendering the villain helpless, as any activation of any of there quirks will cause them to explode from the strain
  • See bit about 'taking hours to be ready'.
    • And? that would allow the villain to beat Midoriya but he would still ultimately be rendered helpless once it kicked in,and he cant transfer it away because he doesn't have the quirk till it kicks in.

Midoriya will pass One for All to his child.
If Midoriya survives the final battle without losing his Quirk, and there’s a Distant Finale with Babies Ever After, then he’ll be able to pass on One for All to the next generation. In Izuku’s case, that might mean his son/daughter.

Midoriya has an autism spectrum disorder, possibly Asperger Syndrome.
He exhibits behaviors that could be indicative of an ASD like Asperger's, such as repetitive behaviors (rocking in his chair as seen in the first episode and muttering to himself as an adolescent), highly narrow interests (namely, in heroes, hence his hobby of writing notebooks full of information on pros and his classmates), difficulties in social interaction (shy and awkward, not helped by his having been born Quirkless), and minor speech issues (tends to talk very formally, plus his aforementioned muttering).
  • Adding onto this, one of the lesser-know signs of ASD is being hyper-emotional— they've mostly disappeared now, but Izuku's Ocular Gushers were one of his biggest character traits.

Deku actually had a Quirk all along, but the Quirk is stealing Quirks
Deku wouldn't steal Quirks even if he could do so. Thus, Deku was under the impression he's Quirkless. However, Deku will accidentally steal someone else's Quirk (probably by thinking: Wow, that Quirk looks so cool! I wish I had it!) He'd get really confused, then upset when he realizes what he just did.

Deku actually had a Quirk all along, but the Quirk is breaking Fate.
How would you know you could defy fate? Break the predictions of a man with a record of 100% accurate future sight. This means that now One for All has the ability to break fate.
  • Considering he's now on the path of unlocking the quirk of his predecessors, which One For All assimilated at each passing, who knows if one of the previous holders had such power.

Deku actually had a Quirk all along, but the Quirk is talking to the dead.
Since there are not ghosts in the MHA universe, it did nothing. Until he was gifted a power that attached the spirits of others to him. The reason Izuku can interface with the past holders is because of his own Quirk.

Deku actually had a Quirk all along, but the Quirk is Awesomeness by Analysis.
Mental Quirks do exist, as seen in Principal Nezu, who is an animal with a supergenius IQ. Deku is able to amass pages of information about an individual, their Quirk, and the strategic implications of that Quirk from mere moments of observation. He compiled detailed information on all 19 of his fellow 1-A classmates in a couple of months. During the Sports Festival, he built a team that was able to synchronize very well. He came the closest to figuring out Mirio's Quirk, and came up with a counter strategy in a minute or so (that he still lost is irrelevant). Deku will eventually reach the memetic status of Batman in-universe, as the "guy who can beat anyone, given prep time". Like most Quirks, he has a weakness, the need to focus to avoid Paralysis by Analysis.

Izuku's dad was overprotective when he was around
Izuku is shy and can have a lot of self doubt to the point he seems to suffer from "impostor syndrome". When he succeds he tends to believe it was out of pure luck or help from others. Now, this isn't the only reason he is the way he is, his mom for instance is shy and not very strong willed and he took it from her. There is also the fact that nobody believed that he could become a hero due to him being quirkless and even got bullied for it, but...
  • He is perfectly aware that Bakugo, who bullied him the most, is an asshole. He had trouble standing up to Bakugo, but he didn't believe he was a lesser human being because of it.
  • He generally feels like he gets too much help when in reality he himself works very hard. Overprotected children often end up having doubts about themselves and not wanting help.
  • He puts a great lot of deal into not making others worry for him, this was influenced by his dad worying too much about him.
  • When Shoto told him about his abusive father Izuku got shocked and asked himself: "We both have the same goal, yet we are so different?" and he didn't know what to respond at first, then told Todoroki that he himself always had help. If Izuku also hated his dad or if the latter was (always) neglectful, he wouldn't think him and Shoto are that different and would probably even tell him about his own dad. Because his own dad was overprotective, Izuku felt like someone who got too much help competing with someone who had to struggle more and this made him feel more privileged and weaker in comparison.
  • The manga doesn't follow a lot of Shonen conventions, so the author made Izuku an overprotected child in comparison to most protagonists, whose fathers are abusive, neglectful (Izuku's dad is absent himself, but it could be that he doesn't have a choice and that it wasn't always this way) or normal. It is especially rare to see an overprotective father of a son not only in manga but in media in general.
  • The manga also shows different types of parents and it is possible to show an overprotective one as well.
    • Also, the chapter "The Boy born with Everything" does not refer to Shoto as being said boy, but to what Izuku thinks of himself. Nobody can be literally born with everything, but on a metaphorical level it means someone born with a lot of good things. Todoroki was born with a powerful quirk and a lot of talent and his family is wealthy, but his family life sucks. Meanwhile, Izuku was sheltered too much and his parents very likely loved and respected eachother as well as him. He lives in a simple apartment, but he is financially secure (he isn't rich, but might be higher middle class). Sure, he was born quirkless (or at least this is what is believed to be the case), but when All Might gave him One For All due to his heroic nature and hard work and despite of this Izuku felt like All Might did everything for him, thus feeling as born with everything, even if this is not the case.
    • Unlike Shoto, who hates his own dad, Izuku wants to save his. His father is working overseas and didn't come home for a long time. Izuku knows his dad would not normally leave them and feels that something is wrong, but his dad keeps on reassuring them everything is fine. The boy thinks his father is in trouble and hides it not to worry them, which makes Izuku feel uncomfortable and too sheltered. Izuku is mad at his dad for it and it's the reason he doesn't apologize to him in his monologue when he gets into trouble or why he didn't send him a picture of his hero license like he did to his mom and All Might, but not mad enough to want to leave his dad. The police can't do anything about this, so he thinks that if he becomes a superhero his dad might finally trust him to tell him what is wrong, or he might use his abilities as a superhero to save him. If the theory of All For One being Izuku's father is true, then Izuku, being very observant, might've figured it out his dad has gone blind (he didn't figure the All For One part, though).
    • In addition, Izuku decided to become a hero in order to make his dad feel safe. When he was little, Izuku saw how much his dad worries for him and wanted to become his (and his mom's) hero. Of course, the boy does it for other people as well, it's just that he puts his parents at priority. At first he only wanted to become a superhero, not the number 1, but he wanted to after his dad left.

Midoryia has a manipulative side to him.
He is not as innocent as he seems and is able to control people like puppets. He probably uses this just for good though.
  • This side was present at the fight between him and Hitoshi. Think about it, why would Midoryia fall for Hitoshi's trap and answer his question knowing about his quirk? Why wouldn't Deku just keep his mouth shut and beat Hitoshi up? Deku is used with far worse insults from Bakugou and is still usually nice to the latter after so many years. And if he really was mad at Hitoshi, why not just beat him up and win against him? The author could've easily kept the match between Deku and Hitoshi the same without making Deku look stupid by just not having Deku know about his opponents quirk. Keep in mind, before the sports' festival, Deku considered not participating due to the destructive nature of his quirk and being already under All Might's wing, but decided to participate when All Might told him that there's a difference between the ones who try and the ones who don't. Midoryia was able to win the first event by using a piece of metal and ingenuity. He was in a team in the second event and they've managed to qualify for the last event with their powers combined. However, Deku had no chance to have results at the last event without using his quirk at a high level. Because he didn't have high chances of winning the last event and was tired of breaking his bones, Midoryia decided to give up. However, he didn't want to ruin his reputation of somebody who always tries, so he faked giving in to his emotions in order to lose. After the OFA ghosts broke the effects of mind control Deku saw that he has no other choice but to continue. When he called Todoroki out for being unfair to the other contestants by not using his entire quirk Deku was actually mad at himself too for almost giving up. Keep in mind, the story is told by Deku, it's very likely not entirely true. At Hitoshi's and Midoryia's match we had someone who has a mind control quirk vs. someone who can control minds by classic manipulation (Deku didn't use it to win, on the contrary, he used it to lose, but you get the idea).
  • Another example of his manipulative side is what he said about OFA being activated after the dream in which he met the other users' ghosts. Think about it, why would a simple hand touch with the first user, even if he is a ghost, activate the quirk? What makes the whole thing even more suspicious is that none of the users introduced themselves, nor did they tell Deku what was going on at the moment. He was staying there, missing a good amount of his body and the rest didn't do anything about it. The users that were only silhouettes have an excuse, but the other ones don't. This was especially frustrating for Deku, because they didn't have to risk their lives, only to tell him who they are and what was going on. Also, Deku overlanalyzes things, he hates the fact that the first user only gave him vague information about himself and his brother. Finding out that the first user was AFO's only family member left and that he locked the younger one in a vault really made Midoryia question how evil is and was AFO and how moral his brother is. Deku actually tried to punch the first wielder, then he lied about OFA being activated by accident, because he wants to be on the users' good side in order to obtain as much power as possible from them and is waiting for the right moment to get revenge on them.

Midoriya will have a hero agency in the future, with the following people working alongside him.
A lot of Pro Heroes seem to have agencies with sidekicks and other general workers. Midoriya will probably form his own agency alongside some of the people he's helped and who have helped him in some capacity. These could include Kota, who he'd probably take in as a protege (since it seems like he's shaping up to be what Midoriya was to All Might). He'd probably take in Gentle and La Brava as sidekicks, as there seems to be a mutual respect between Gentle and Deku, and the Ordinary Woman/Ippan Josei would probably be a part of his agency too.

    All Might
All Might is sterile
All Might is a very fatherly type as we've seen, so why would he not wish to have children? Simple: he CAN'T have them at all! He originally COULD but All For One ended up wrecking his reproductive system when he attacked him (remember, All-Might's stomach was DESTROYED from his attack) All-Might was planning on finding a nice girl to settle down with, but he lost drive to pursue romance since he ended up being crippled by it and didn't wish to burden someone like that, so he wouldn't have a chance to have kids even if he still could.
  • There isn't much sign that he had interest in romance to begin with. Also adoption.
  • His injury wouldn't really affect his reproductive organs, though it would likely cause some issues in the bedroom. More likely is both a lack of interest in pursuing a relationship and that anyone close to him would be targeted by villains like what happened with USJ. You'll notice he doesn't exactly have a lot of acquaintances from before his job as a teacher.

All Might has mixed ancestry, and one of his parents was an American.
Consequently, All Might's American motif is from him growing up on the stories of this American parent and developing a Foreign Culture Fetish for America. This also explains his blonde hair, and his Gratuitous English.
  • Bonus: His American parent is from Detroit.
  • All Might's American motif seems to come from his time working in America early on in his career, though this doesn't mean All Might can't still be of mixed ancestry.

All Might is undergoing a serious identity crisis now that he can't use One For All anymore
and his character arc will be overcoming this to truly start living as Toshinori Yagi. I've always found it interesting that out of all the heroes and villains in the series, All Might is the only one who uses an explicitly different form for his hero persona while his true form is kept separate and secret at least until his battle with All For One. This, combined with some bits from the manga makes me wonder if to some extent All Might may have seen himself as his hero persona nearly all the time, even when he's in his true form. Perhaps this may have even gone to the point that he doesn't really see his true identity as Toshinori Yagi as anything except an extension of All Might. The thing is however, since All Might used up the last of One For All in his final battle with All For One, now he's in a position where All Might is something he can only be in name and in spirit. He's vulnerable now, and despite his best efforts to assuage people otherwise, he's definitely not going to be able to ignore the fact that he's essentially lost half of who he was, if not all of who he was if Toshinori is just an extension of his hero persona in his mind.

With this in mind, I believe that a good portion of his arc in the rest of the manga will be dedicated to him finding himself for who he really is, and that it will probably involve him having to accept that All Might is truly gone, something that I think will only occur when his predicted death occurs. But then due to whatever plot device gets introduced then (or maybe Eri will learn to master her quirk quickly that she can heal All Might from a fatal injury or something, but it depends on what happens in the current arc), he gets revived, and thus chooses to go on living as Toshinori Yagi.

All Might considered giving OFA to Melissa at some point.
He's apparently close enough to be her Honorary Uncle, and she implies she was upset when she was younger due to being Quirkless. All Might dropped the idea after Melissa became adjusted to the idea of being a scientist.

All Might will die of natural causes
It's clear that even without the strains of using One For All, his health conditions have remained quite precarious and it will increasingly show. At one point, the villains will decide to kidnap or kill him, but he will be saved. After all the tension and eventual celebration, things will go back to some peace and, while just walking and conversing with Deku, All Might will suddenly collapse and die in Deku's arms because of a "simple" heart attack; while Nighteye's foreseeing of a gruesome death had been indeed prevented, it didn't mean there would be no untimely death at all.A devastated Deku, and not only him, will blame it on the villains who made All Might fight until ruining his body, but Recovery Girl and others will explain it was just All Might's own will to keep going and helping while he still could. Nezu will also reminisce about when he offered him to resign from UA after the fight against All For One; All Might could have retired in some peaceful abode and just leave all to the next generation but chose not to. Realizing that, Deku will come out of the pain of losing his mentor and friend even stronger.

All-Might is All For One's son
Given we don't know what All For One's name is, he could have the last name Yagi. All For One wanted to kill his son because he saw him as being a failure and a total disgrace for wanting to be a hero, as he was meant to be a minion, and later, successor. (Thus leaving his son to be Quirkless, or maybe he straight up took his Quirk away when he was young, it wasn't as uncommon to be Quirkless in All Mights's generation, thus he would blend in better) All-Might hated his father because he was super evil and abusive. So, he swore that he would kill him. All-Might's mentor, Nana Shimura, passed the Quirk on to All-Might knowing very well they were related so All-Might could finally defeat his father and save the world from his tyranny. As for why All For One's brother didn't pass the quirk on to All-Might, he wasn't even born yet at the time (All For One MUST be pretty old if he lived to see 8 generations of One For All users.) All For One freaked out that Shimura was allied with his son, killing Shimura to prevent it from being passed on, when it already WAS passed on. But he of course found out All Might had it then tried to murder him. All For One swore to never have kids again after what happened with All Might. Instead, he chose a boy that showed potential i.e. Tomura Shigarki.
  • The last names wouldn't necessarily need to match. If All Might is dedicating his life to fighting his father, he might opt to drop his name. What if "Yagi" was his mother's name?

    All For One
All For One is Izuku's father, Hisashi Midoriya
Hisashi is one of if not the most mysterious character. We only know his name, Quirk and that he "works overseas". What does he look like? Why do neither Inko nor Izuku ever talk about him? Is he even alive? Divorced? Honestly, we know more about random background extras than we do about our main character's father! There has to be a reason for such secrecy. And considering that All For One is a Darth Vader Expy and Horikoshi loves Star Wars, this seems like a perfect setup for a Luke, I Am Your Father situation. But lets tally the points!
  • We never see clearly what All For One looked like before his injuries, but he seems suspiciously similar to Izuku, especially in the anime. Considering that MHA has a Cast of Snowflakes, this can't be just a coincidence.
  • Many characters have meaningful names. "Hisashi" means "a long time ago". All For One is two centuries old (and we still don't know his real name).
  • All For One's doctor seems to be the same one who diagnosed Izuku as Quirkless.
  • According to the Word of God, the winged boy who bullied Izuku was turned into a Nomu.
  • All For One was able to use Transmission on Bakugo, even though it's only supposed to work on the people well-known to the user.
  • All For One might be blind, but his senses are good enough to allow him to go toe-to-toe with All Might, yet somehow he didn't notice a bunch of kids hiding behind a flimsy wall ten feet away from him? (Probably didn't want to accidentally kill his son).
  • It actually explains why Izuku was thought to be Quirkless. It is just that he did not know how to activate All For One, which he might have inherited.
  • Given Izuku's extensive knowledge of Quirk applications, if he actually inherited All For One quirk, then he would be the most dangerous opponent Shigaraki will ever face.
  • ....You've been reading Conversations with a Cryptid haven't you? I'll admit, it does have some plausibility, but there are several issues with the idea:
    • The first of course being Hisashi's established Quirk: Fire Breath. Now, it's entirely possible All For One has Fire Breath among his many Quirks, it raises the question as to why he would limit himself to that one Quirk, and why something as generic as Fire Breath. Yes, it could be to live in incognito from the likes of All Might, but if it was just to be with Inko, he wouldn't need to do that if he just took Inko with him.
    • The second is the time from when Hisashi was in the Midoriya's lives and when All Might "killed" All For One. All Might is said to have "killed" All For One roughly 5 to 6 years ago, so when Izuku was 9 or 10. Hisashi's whereabouts are never noted, but the flashbacks to when Deku was first found to be Quirkless, Age 6, indicate that Hisashi was not around in their lives. Whenever Deku is shown as a little kid, he and Inko are always by themselves. So unless Hisashi walked out on their lives long before All Might "killed" All For One, it raises the question as to why he was gone, or gives the implication they are separate people.
    • Then there is the nature of the Quirk "All For One". All For One has demonstrated the ability to give others Quirks, yet Hisashi's son, Izuku, remains Quirkless. This coincides to Hisashi's absence even during Deku's childhood upon discovering he was Quirkless. All For One gave his younger brother a Quirk when he was under the impression he was Quirkless, so why wouldn't he give his own son one? It would not be hard to do so, especially with the stigma Quirkless kids have in school, so why wouldn't he?
      • All For One couldn't steal One For All by himself so he must have manipulated events so that Izuku could meet All Might and acquire One For All.
      • Not possible. The events that led Izuku to gaining One for All were all out of pure circumstance. Izuku only got it because he saved Bakugo from the Slime Villain and demonstrated his Heroic Spirit. That only happened because the Slime Villain was in a bottle that fell out of All Mights pants after Izuku grabbed onto him. That only happened after he ran into All Might after being attacked by the Slime Villain. The Slime Villain had been chased by All Might the entire morning, roughly 3 hours at most due to All Mights time limit. So for All for One to have orchestrated any of that, he would have to been responsible for the Slime Villains rampage, known that All Might would be in that specific convenience store close to its rampage, known Izuku would take a path he normally doesn't take home, known Bakugo would have been attacked by the Slime Villain at some point, and known Izuku would just happen to be nearby during the blaze while knowing All Might would just happen to be watching so he could demonstrate his heroic spirit. The only way he would be able to that, without an omnipresent quirk as he hadn't stolen Search from Ragdoll yet, would be if it was an Ass Pull of the highest caliber. No, worse. It would be Aizen level planning.
  • This troper, firmly believes that this theory may have been true at one point but has been since abandoned by the mangaka potentially because it was too cliche or predictable - or even maybe because of copyright.
    • Manga like any long work often read like onions, or tree rings, there is signature, a mark of changes, shifts and abandoned ideas throughout the story. As the plot changes and new ideas are inserted and old ones removed it leaves evidence behind that suggest when ideas or plot points are changed or abandoned. As an example in Fairy Tail The author freely admitted that he planned Mavis Vermilion to be male, likely an old man, before he was apparently told that Mavis is a feminine name, this meant that before that point the whole Zeref/Mavis romantic plot point - and quite possible the reveal that Zeref - the big bad - was the older brother of protagonist Natsu didn't yet exist or other unrelated plot existed in place of it.
    • Given all the hinting, little clues, and the author's love of Star Wars; the Luke/Darth Vader parallels between Izuku and All for One are too strong for the idea to not have been considered at some point. That being the case I believe it is an abandoned plot point at this juncture, something left over from an earlier design phase or the first handful of chapters that no longer holds true in series at present. It may simply be that Horikoshi didn't want to go to the trouble of redesigning All For One and removing various old hints and references or perhaps he just liked the character as is and didn't want to change him.
  • Or we could be pulling a 'Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond' and noticing foreshadowing deliberately put there. Plus, there's the Dramatic Irony of All for One going out of his way to have Revenge Through Corruption on Nana Shimura by raising her grandson to be a villain, only for All Might to pull the same thing on him by complete accident.
  • If All For One was Izuku's father, the latter should have recognised him when the first user was showing Izuku flashbacks of One For All's creation. That didn't happen, confirming that All For One and Izuku are not related.
    • Or that Izuku doesn't remember what his father (Mr. Never There) looks like off the top of his head. He was in a freaky situation and All for One was shrouded in black fog, so he may not have connected the dots.
    • Well, All For One has been active for over a century. Perhaps, he went through facial surgery to not be recognized as the same man.
    • Or maybe Izuku actually connected the dots and he is in denial, because he can't accept his father being All For One.
    • Or maybe he isn't in denial. The story is told by Deku after all, maybe Deku is planning something.
  • So as the series has gone on more and more evidence of this theory has been piling up.
    • For instance, All for One had the perfect opportunity to off Deku and many of the top students of UA's class 1-A during the Kamino Ward Incident but he chose not to. There's no way he didn't sense them behind the wall, he'd just stolen a Quirk that lets him track the positions of people around him.
    • Deku's One for All sparks, which are unique to him and haven't been seen in that color on All Might, are a direct inverse of All for One's color scheme. If they were setting him up as his rival's opposite, wouldn't it make more sense to do that with Shigaraki?
    • While this isn't evidence specific to All for One and Deku being related, we've never seen All for One's face unobscured, meaning his appearance will be some sort of twist.
    • Deku is the first One for All user to directly access previous users' Quirks. This is not because he's Quirkless, because so was All Might. There are only two other characters whom we've seen use multiple Quirks at once: Technically Todoroki, and All for One.
      • That's stated to be a result of One For All itself changing. Besides, how would being All For One's son let him do that? "Deku's Quirkless but he has part of his dad's Quirk" makes no sense.
    • Deku being the child of a first generation Quirk user drastically increases the odds of him not having a Quirk.
      • That's not how genetics work. The number of people with Quirks has grown over generations bcause it started off small and it takes generations for a trait to become widespread, not because Quirks were somehow harder to pass along for earlier generations.
      • Actually, it's not unreasonable. If we look at it as a simple dominant/recessive situation, an early generation Quirk user is far more likely to be heterozygous- there hadn't been enough time for the gene to spread enough for homozygous dominant Quirk users to exist in large numbers. Although Quirk inheritance is more likely to be polygenic, the same basic principle applies.
    • Apparently they reuse All for One's theme when Deku's beating Chisaki senseless?
  • Again, it appears almost to certainly be a relic from an earlier version of the Story. Beyond the first few prototypes and into the near final draft of the story, there was a central plot point stuck with with every version story: Izuku/Deku was to remain quirkless and the story was of him training to become the first quirkless hero, and that was something that didn't change until the very final draft. In these versions All-Might was just a powerful and famous hero who was to ocasionally pop in and offer Izuku encouragement and on some cases advice or mentorship. According to words from the author, it was only right at the last minute, supposedly only a handful of months before the publication of the first chapter that Kohei Horikoshi's editor made a fateful series of suggestions that would see Midoryia ending up with a quirk and All-Might's no less. This certainly shook up the entire story. But let's look at the Dad for One theory in the light of the "second to last draft". It would make so much more symbolic, dramatic and overall literary sense for the Archenemy of the first ever hero with no quirk and no hope of ever having one, to be his father a man with multiple quirks who can obtain any quirk he desires. I think that all we're seeing is the remains of a plot line like this, the dead end hints and story devices from a previously integral premise that was abandonded far too late to remove all of the foreshadowing and other details pointing to it. We're looking at a ghost, the echoes of what could have or would have been. Indeed the very nature of All For One as a quirk would be an utter anathma to a quirkless hero, a perversion of the entire world order which was already terribly unfair to them. If anything One For All and it's connection to All For One were probably developed later after the decision to give Izuku a quirk was made. Either way, I think after the manga is finished a history of how various plot points were created and how the story grew would be very interesting.
  • Spoilers for the manga through 407 ahead. This theory is assuming a couple things, like All for One taking in Tenko, while partly to spite Nana, was always done with the end goal of eventually taking over his body. I’m also working under the assumption that Tenko was quirkless before All for One gave him Decay with the purpose of engineering a tragic backstory. We can see in chapter 407 that All for One had the hole in his hand that allows him to use his quirk since the moment of birth. We also see that he doesn’t actually care for his brother as a person but rather as a possession. I think it’s fair to assume that if he had a child it wouldn’t be out of love or desire for a family. So maybe he got with Inko (probably just picked a woman at random or maybe she seemed easy to manipulate given how emotional she is) under a false identity in hopes of producing a child that would inherit his quirk so he could use them as a new vessel. When Izuku was born with no sign of All for One (no hole in the hands) he simply left them under the guise of working overseas and moved onto new plans. He would’ve then found the Shimuras and passed Decay onto Tenko (who would’ve been around 5 years old when Izuku was born, young enough that it could pass off as a late manifestation) and taken him in to raise as his new vessel. This would explain why Izuku has seemingly no reaction to the memories he’s shown inside One for All. And All for One, if he really doesn’t care about his child, is just saving this information for the most opportune time to reveal it. Maybe to throw Izuku off his game while fighting Shigaraki. In addition, the reason All for One didn’t kill the kids at Kamino would be a superficial attachment to Izuku, viewing him as just as much a possession as his brother.

All For One will suffer A Fate Worse Than Death.
Especially if All-Might does a Heroic Sacrifice. In contrast to his enemy dying a fruitful death he chose, All For One will end up being forced into a situation where he lives forever in eternal pain and despair.

Deep down AFO truly cares about his subordinates
He might not love them or see them as outright friends, but he is geniuenly pissed if they get to suffer. Him acting nice towards them is not just Pragmatic Villainy, he is geniuenly grateful towards them. He wouldn't hurt them, at least not as long as it doesn't bring any benefits, and even then he's not happy about it. He might not be always honest to them, but he tries t keep his promises towards them. AFO actually cares more about the league members than Dabi does. Dabi, while honest about it, doesn't care about them. AFO might tell the league members some lies and keep some secrets from them, but still cares about them. He isn't actually completely devoid of empathy, knows very well that villains suffer or at the very least have some sort of inbalance. Him being a complete monster is a mask he puts on and one of its purposes is so that people won't try to blackmail him by capturing one or more of his subordinates.

What All For One truly means isn't everything for himself, but nobody left behind
There is no denial that he is evil, but considering Shigaraki's backstory, society has a serious Bystander Syndrome. The phrase "All for one and all for one" comes from "The Three Musketeers" novel. There "all for one" does not have a negative meaning, it actually means nobody left behind. What AFO tries to obtain is a society that doesn't leave you to die on the streets like in Shigaraki's case. The conflict with his brother came because the younger one refused to listen.

All For One ripped some part of him out
1. One For All doesn't rest well in anyone who has a quirk, and I believe it was even stated that the human body isn't suppose to have mulitple quirks.

2. When discussing AFO either Endevor or Hawks said his constant smiling made it feel like something was missing.

At first I thought AFO's quirk allowed him to safely intergrate quirks, but between that statement and how much this series likes leaving out Required Secondary Powers I think he did something to himself to contain extra quirks. There is the possiblity he was born like this.

All For One intentionally created the cursed power known as One For All
While he has no understanding of justice, he's also no fool. He never "accidentally" gave his little brother anything. Find it strange that his Quirk is the one where he can steal but also give Quirks to others? His sickly younger brother was truly quirk-less and never had the ability to transfer anything to anyone. AFO desperately wanted him to join his side, but his imprisoned brother would rather starve to death than serve AFO's wicked plans. His health rapidly deteriorating and AFO unable to find another Longevity Quirk, in an act of twisted-love and affection, created OFA to assimilate his little brother with. What he didn't count on, was the Second Torch Bearer escaping with the Quirk, and his brother's soul.

All For One manages to kill All Might
And he lives to fight another day while mentoring Shigaraki, which will really motivate Deku to get his act together.

All For One has a Grand Theft Me Quirk
He wasn't building Shigaraki as his successor. He was building a new vessel.
  • As of Chapter 285, he's actually taken over Shigaraki. He does it again when Shigaraki is unconscious in 295 to force his protege to retreat, chilling echoing his earlier “everything is for your sake” quote, but in a somewhat ambiguous sense. He could easily have been referring to either Shigaraki or himself.
  • Given that AFO is a first-generation Quirk user whose body is A. not necessarily adapting as Quirks become more complex (to the point where the procedure Shigaraki underwent was originally intended for AFO instead), B. living in a body ravaged by his previous confrontations with All Might, and C. primarily defined by his own selfishness and lack of genuinely compassion, this seems terrifyingly plausible and in-character.

All for One will never be able to take One for All because of the rather specific power-wording on it.

This one's fairly minor, but it explains why One for All wasn't taken in, for example, the fight with All for One in the past. Simply put, because the power itself is giving others power, it means they can control when it is not given, and thus, counteract the power stealing by not willfully giving it. This can be seen in the rules and guidelines for One for All's bestowing power, where you cannot forcefully take it, but you can forcefully give it. Because it cannot be forcefully taken, it naturally counteracts the power of, well, forcefully taking a power. Either All for One has realized this and either didn't care, or it was too late when they tried it, (probably around 6th or 7th holder) but it may go further if he does not know, and a prior theory of 'harvesting' One for All comes up to be true, only to find the power itself hard locks it out may occur.

All For One is a Quirk Designed to Counteract Quirk Saturation
  • Think about it. In the HeroAca universe, children inherit one, and usually a combination of both of their parent's quirks, barring the occasional genetic mutation. By that logic, it's likely that quirklessness will be eradicated in a few generations. Furthermore, the more people get together, the more quirks will blend together until eventually everyone's quirks are identical to each other (and they would have an amalgamation of all of them). AFO is a quirk that is meant to be used to counteract that inevitability with its two powers:
1. It can take quirks away. By making people "artificially" quirkless, AFO can slow down the rate of quirks blending together to make stronger and stronger quirks.2. It can give quirks away. If two people are in love, but they have quirk combinations that would be problematic to pass on, AFO can take away the problematic quirks and give them quirks better suited for merging together in order to better aid the production of unique quirks rather than a continued blending of the same quirks over and over through multiple children in a family.

AFO's quirk giving doesn't necessarily always give brain damage to the recipient
Brain damage only occurs if AFO forces the quirk on someone. If they willingly accept it, then it won't cause brain damage. But who AFO gives quirks to (I.E. future Nomu) wouldn't accept quirks from the boss of the person or people who kidnapped them. It would explain why OFA's transfer doesn't cause brain damage if it's made of AFO's quirk giving ability and an energy storing quirk. However, this also means forced OFA transfer (which All Might specifically said is possible) would cause brain damage.
  • Given talk of giving quirks to people, wanting to give one to Shigaraki, and the creation of One for All, that is fairly confirmed. There is just some point when it causes problems, but what point that is isn't known.

All For One is actually selfless
Or less selfish than he seems. He originally used the phrase All For One as anything for his brother, but didn't tell him that, because his brother wouldn't have accepted it. Furthermore, the (main) reason he became hungry for power was so that he could protect his brother. He called himself All For One in order to scare others that he is a selfish bastard, but he himself still thought of the phrase as anything for his brother.
  • Or he told his brother what it actually meant, but the latter didn't believe him.

The first time All For One destroyed someone's brain by giving them too many quirks it was an accident
How did All For One find out that peoples'brains get destroyed by giving them too many quirks? Most likely by giving someone too many quirks. To whom would he want to give many quirks? Most likely to someone he wanted to make stronger, maybe even someone he cared about. After discovering his power he was exited to give to a certain someone quirks, but ended up destroying their brain. All For One felt very guilty and it traumatized him. This made him evil, or played a role in that regard or made him worse if he was already evil.

All For One is secretly paranoid
When he was young quirks manifested for the first time. While having supernatural activities happening is scary enough in it itself there is also the fact that society collapsed. It was also stated that his younger brother was sickly, which had the older one worry for his health. His little brother was also the only family member he had left, so their parents died, abandoned them or they left the parents. If the theory about All For One destroying someone's brain by accident the first time, this really drove him into taking extreme measures to avoid danger. Him stealing the age regression quirk came because he fears death and getting old. He was happy that some of his followers killed a group of people who disobeyed him, because his people are faithful to him and he has a hard time trusting people because of his paranoia. If the theory of him actually being selfless is true, then he also has abandonment issues considering his brother left him. All For One is evil out of fear and not malevolence. He doesn't hate people as much as he lets on and knows not every single person on earth will be after him, but he has a twisted belief that he has to be the worst villain in order to keep society under control by fear and keep himself safe. All Might's view of a world where anybody can smile only upsets him, because he has a twisted view that he has to terrorize others in order to keep himself safe.
  • In addition, he will not be defeated by fighting, but by talking. All For One is an intellectual who really likes power and sees knowledge as power, so gaining information is important to him. Because of this, he will be willing to listen to what his opponents have to say. He is also a firm believer that accepting your mistakes is power and not accepting them is a weakness. He would also notice that he isn't feeling safe and happy inspite of his efforts, so he might consider a different way. If his opponent (most likely Izuku) proves to him that he should and can accept danger as a part of life and that life will someday end and to focus more on living the moment, while still making plans for the future and avoiding dangers, he will be redeemed, will surrender, fix the mistakes he can fix and pay for his crimes.

The reason why AFO tried to take over Shigaraki is because he doesn't trust him.
If a subordinate is doing a good job, why interfere by controlling their minds? If it ain't broken don't fix it. Even if AFO only sees Shigaraki as a puppet, Shigaraki was already on his side, so why try to control his mind? Maybe AFO doesn't want Shigaraki to become more powerful than he is, but with Shigaraki on his side this would ultimately benefit AFO and if he wants to be the most powerful so badly, can't he become more powerful than Shigaraki without controlling his mind? Or wait until he gets out of prison and Shigaraki gets some more power, before trying to take over? AFO can turn people into nomus, which follow every order, why wouldn't AFO have done that long ago, or why isn't he waiting right now until the right moment he could turn Shigaraki into a nomu or control his mind in other ways? My guess is that, deep down AFO is aware of Shigaraki's childish tendencies, and he doesn't want to let him screw things up.

AFO does see his brother as his own person
  • He just isn't fond of his personality and wants his quirk. This is why he treats him this way. There are some possibilities:
    • AFO never truly loved his brother, but he is fully aware that the latter is his own person. He doesn't care about that, but he wouldn't have had a problem with it either if it didn't interfere with his plans. AFO was a Play-Along Prisoner for a very long time, is fully aware that most of society hates him and doesn't seem to believe he is outright perfect. While he is arrogant maybe even with narcissistic traits (or at least it seems so), it's not to the point of needing constant reassurence. There is no way he suffers from the full blown narcissistic personality disorder (at least not a realistic representation of it), so he likely doesn't mind if he can't control certain things as long as he is very powerful. It is possible that seeing people as extensions of yourself isn't exclusive to narcissism, maybe psychopaths and sociopaths do it too, but their egos aren't as easily hurt as a narcissist's, so they might see and accept more individuality from their victims than a narcissist would. But just because they don't mind it, it doesn't mean they will hurt others any less.
    • AFO did love his brother, he just had problems showing it because he was mentally unstable. AFO is angry at his brother because the latter abandoned him and called him a monster without understanding him.

    Dabi
The source of Dabi's burns
  • If the above mentioned theory that Dabi is indeed Touya Todoroki true, then what could have caused his burns exactly. If Endeavor's comment on him inheriting his mother's "weak constitution", is anything to go by, the most logical take on it is that as powerful as his flames are, Dabi/Touya is not resistant to them. This could be expanded on as well, as Natsuo Todoroki comments that he feels rather sensitive towards warm weather; which hints at his own Quirk. It also counts into Endeavor's reason for having married Rei in the first place. As he wanted/needed a child to have the perfect balance of a fire Quirk and an Ice Quirk. it has been explained that if Shoto uses his ice too much, then he will suffer from frostbite, and there are implications for something similar to happen if he uses his flames too much. Endeavor's Quirk, Hellflame will rise Enji's body temperature to dangerous levels if overused due to successive powerful attacks or drawn out battles, impairing his physical abilities. So, it's quite likely that Touya/Dabi's burns might have been a result of his dangerous Quirk.

  • Or he could have burned himself deliberately in an effort to hide his identity. All of his burns are completely symmetrical. Burns are not so exact in nature. Along with dying his hair jet black, he may have done it to further distance himself from Endeavor and his family.

    • Another theory is that his burns are a direct result of trying to copy Endeavour's iconic fire mask. The burns appear to be concentrated in similar locations to where Endeavour's mask covers...

Dabi is related to Endeavor... but not as his son
Dabi is actually Endeavor's nephew. We do not know much on Endeavor's past or his family despite the Todorokis being a large glimpse into it. It's possible that he may have a sibling or siblings that could bare someone like Dabi. Maybe Endeavor's sibling was actually a criminal and he had to put them down as a hero, thus causing Dabi to resent him and the family.
  • Jossed, he is Endeavor's son.

Dabi has a dual quirk like Todoroki.
Being honest, having fire only as a quirk would make him a hella underwhelming rival for Todoroki, as well as being lackluster and boring compared to his peers. It's generally accepted Dabi is an illegitimate son of Endeavor, and it's possible he has a (different) dual quirk from Todoroki attained from whatever harlot he came from.In contrast to Todoroki, he flaunts Endeavour's quirk will suppressing his other out of shame for his maternal side, and like Todoroki will likely only choose to use it after some traumatic development.
  • Kind of has a problem though. Were Dabi to have a Dual Quirk, then he would have been the first success of Endeavor's instead of Todoroki, and Endeavor would have tried training him as the entire point of the Quirk Marriages was so Endeavor could have Dual Quirked Heir to surpass All Might. So, if Dabi had a Dual Quirk, why did he move onto Shoto? It's not like simple defiance would be enough, since Shoto does enough of that already and Endeavor still focuses on him, and if Dabi is Dual Quirked, it wouldn't be because of the Non-Fire Quirk as Endeavor picked out the mother. So, what exactly would be the justification behind him ditching Dabi if Dabi did have a Dual Quirk?
    • He is clearly illegitimate (his hair is neither red nor white), could be from some harlot in a one-night stand or some woman who ran away after s brief relationship, rather than Endeavor ditching her. Additionally a dual quirk which is more subtle simply might not be apparent in early life. He's unlikely to be any sibling Todo actually knows about.
    • He could very well have dyed his hair rather than being illegitimate. If we're taking hair colour to be indicative of quirks, Fuyumi has white hair with red streaks, possibly hinting that she has ice with a bit of fire - not quite the half-and-half state Endeavor wanted. It's possible that Dabi does have some degree of duality, just not the perfect even split Endeavor wanted.
  • Jossed. He only inherited Endeabour's quirk.

Dabi has a Fused Quirk
Much like how Katsuki's mother Mitsuki has a quirk that secretes Nitroglycerin and Masaru has a Fire quirk that creates an Oxidizing Sweat, the two allowing Bakugo to have an Explosion Quirk, Dabi's quirk is a result of Endeavor's Hell Flame mixing with his Mother's quirk, creating his Cremation Quirk.

This is based on the idea Dabi is a Todoroki by blood, but does not share the same mother as Shoto and Fujimi, rather has a different mother. It's been noted that Dabi's Quirk is actually unique compared to Endeavor's Hellflame and Shoto's Half-Hot, in that his flames are more purple-black in coloration rather than the standard orange-red. Real life Purple Flame is a result of burning Sodium Chloride, but Dabi's is even darker than that Purple. It's possible a Quirk from his Mother melding with Hell Flame is what made his flame purple-black, and presumably, stronger than Shoto's Half-Hot flames.

It could also explain why Endeavor didn't focus on Dabi and went on to engage in a Quirk Marriage with Mrs. Todoroki, as Dabi didn't produce a Dual Quirk like he desired, at first simply coming across as a different colored version of his own quirk.

  • As for what exactly the other quirk is, possibly a Salt Water Quirk. Rather than have command over Ice like Shoto, Dabi was intended to have command over Water, his Water being Salt Water Specifically. Except unlike the intended effect, his Salt Water Quirk manifested more as sweat similar to Katsuki and Mitsuki's Nitroglycerin quirk, so when he used the Hellflame he inherited, it gets boosted by the Salt Sweat. It could also explain the burn marks on his body. Salty Sweat and possibly Tears combined with accidental sparks from his own quirk caused his body to look burned.
  • Season 3 of the anime shows us that Dabi's flames are actually blue, not purple/black. So either his flames are burning copper rather than sodium chloride, or it could just be that his flames are hotter than Endeavor's.
  • Jossed. He's a Todoroki and only inherited his father's quirk.

Dabi is actually Hisashi Midoriya and it will have a devastating impact on Izuku and Inko when they find out the truth.
Izuku's father was said to "breathe fire". Maybe that's not the half of it. He's instead a user of a Quirk called "Cremation" (let's hope that's not his job). Dabi is severely burnt and disfigured. Perhaps Mr. Midoriya suffered a terrible accident caused by his own Quirk and then left the family, ashamed to show his wife what he looks like now. Said accident also caused problems that prevented Izuku from inheriting his Quirk- or perhaps the accident was caused by said Quirk and Hisashi quietly did something like took a pill or maybe gave a pill to Inko similar to birth control that prevents Quirk inheritance out of fear Izuku might suffer the same mishap one day. As Dabi, he is still sending information and money to his family under the notion that he's abroad, but the money is coming from dirty work as a criminal. The reveal of his true name will serve as a Wham Line and Izuku will be forced to confront the idea of his own father becoming a villain. It will be a very compelling moment in the story to see Izuku confront his own father in the same manner Todoroki deals with Endeavor and a huge blow to him knowing that his own dad has gone down the one path he avoided.
  • Jossed.

Touya Todoroki's personality: Very much like Endeavor, at least before the accident
Not alot of debate has been going on in regards to the personality of the oldest of Endeavor's children. However, my prediction is that Touya was very much like Endeavor, at least before the accident. He would've been brash and hot-headed, but also determined to be a hero and a hard-worker. In many ways, he would embody the positive aspects of Endeavor. It would also further explain why Endeavor originally chose him to be his successor. He was much like his father in terms of power and personality yet even exceed him, both in firepower and perhaps in people skills. However, after Endeavor's attempt to teach him one of his secret techniques goes awry, Toya changed. Maybe he cut off communication with the family for thinking he's a failure. Maybe he became embittered with becoming a hero. For whatever reason, Toya has cut off ties with his family, but for blaming himself rather than Endeavor. My reasoning is that, besides the likelihood of this, it would be a matter of symbolism and further represent why Shoto would ultimately succeed both his father and his oldest brother.

Dabi is a Green-Eyed Monster towards Heroes
According to Endeavours flashbacks, Toya used to want to be a hero and wanted to get trained by his father. Also according to the flashbacks, it was Endeavour who was concerned about Toya's well-being. What happened after the family thought Toya died? Endeavour decided to make Shoto his successor. This is what truly made Dabi angry at all heroes. While he does have a point about the wrongdoings of his dad and the hero system, the reason why he hates all the heroes is because the they have something he feels he could never achieve and therefore doesn't want anyone to have it. This is also the main reason he wanted Shoto dead.

    Class 1-A
The reason Toru is always invisible
It's because she is (or at least considers herself) unattractive, so she deliberately stays invisible out of insecurity. Being invisible helps her self-confidence, which is why she's a Shameless Fanservice Girl.
  • Support for this theory: She once described her face as looking like "if Yang Guifi and Francis Xavier were mashed together". It's Played for Laughs but when you really think about it, that...isn't a very flattering description of herself. That said, she may have simply been trolling the girls. Or maybe it's some mixture of the two.

Toru Hagakure is actually Beautiful All Along.
If her Quirk kicked in during childhood, before she had a chance to grow into her features, she might consider herself unattractive, almost to the point of a complex. She can't look in a mirror, but she does apparently take care of herself and can't suffer sun damage. If she learns to become visible, or is rendered such, someone will remark on how cute she is.
  • It may be possible. We do get a glimpse of half her face after she refracts one of Aoyama’s lasers in Chapter 337.

Bakugo, Symbol of Courage
It's noted by Aizawa that along with Midoriya, Bakugo is also a driving force to the class. And, where Midoriya brings hope and encourages others to hope as well, Bakugo similarly pushes others in a different way, that of Courage. As brash and rude as he may be, he pushes the marker as a shining example of unrelenting courage and, knowingly or not, inspires others to push it as well. From Midoriya saying how he looked up to Bakugo whilst following and growing up together, to Uraraka willing to go all out on him, Kirishima pushing to go rescue him despite the rules and Kaminari's attitude during the provisional license exam, many of his class similarly are stepping up in the face of danger or challenges with him being the reason why they strive to step up.

  • To add to this a little further, there are two other major incidents that showed more hints about this: The exam against All Might with Midoriya, and being captured by the League of Villains. For the first, Deku, who both worships and is completely certain upon their inability to win head on, in the end doesn't just flee for it as All Might notes he can, but turns around and makes an attack. Because Deku convinced Bakugo to keep the idea of them having a shot at winning in mind, compared to his initial claim that he'd rather lose. The second, surrounded and in the League of Villain's very base, he calls them out on it on his own, showing that even in the face of almost certain defeat, one he knows he can't win against by how he reacted when they tried to re-capture him, he still holds no hesitation to his courage to stand against the odds. Where Izuku is the one who will keep people hoping and working for the best, Bakugo is/will be the force to push them to continue striving for what they aim for despite the slimmest of chances.

Todoroki will become Midoriya's rival and Bakugo will run off to become a villain.
  • It's becoming clear that Midoriya's true rival is Todoroki, who seems to have a better grasp on what it means to be a hero and a more honorable way of doing things, especially since his rivalry with Midoriya will likely reflect his father's rivalry with All Might. Bakugo, being rather hateful and insensitive, will eventually become fed up with being third best and get recruited by the villains.
    • Given the fact that the manga is partly inspired by Naruto, Midoriya to try knocking some sense into Bakugo when he does become a villain (hopefully not to the same degree of insane easy forgiveness as Naruto)
    • To extend that WMG, it is possible that Bakugo may end up trying to gain more power through gaining more quirks (namely going "All For One"). Chances are, a mad scientist of a villain will use Bakugo as a test subject (with or without informed consent) for the said ability to absorb quirks from others.
    • I actually just thought of how the straw to break the camel's back could be Bakugo getting demoted to a lower-ranked class or different department, likely due to his inability to control his rage and his subsequent ridiculously unheroic behavior.
    • Alternatively, Endeavor will give up on trying to make Shoto his successor. After seeing Bakugo declare his desire to be number 1 and using his powers, he will try to manipulate him into becoming his heir.
    • Given the events of chapter 34, it may get Jossed due to Todoroki's hatred towards his father, Endeavor, which may drive him into becoming a villain just to spite him (given his reaction after just a short conversation with his father, it is certainly not impossible). On the other hand, Bakugo is not exactly the most heroic individual either as some of the professional heroes realized in Chapter 36.
    • Though lately Bakugo has shown some character development (the Jerkass past still persist though), being a little bit more analytical and respectful ever since his Break the Haughty moment. Todoroki on the other hand, will be more open and heroic. Kacchan will probably stay as The Rival or The Lancer, while Shoto will become the Hero of Another Story.
    • Definitely Jossed considering Bakugo was given an invitation to join the VA while held hostage at their base, and he told them no way point blank. Even though he is a jerk, he really admires All Might and his heroics and that was all the motivation he needed.
    • This is only the first year, it isn't jossed till the story's done. Bakugo becoming a villain is unlikely, but it isn't jossed yet, who knows what might happen down the road.

Aoyama is Quirkless
It's not my idea, but someone said it and actually makes sense. It kind of explains his superiority/inferiority complex, (seen in chapter 108) with him wishing to be "equal with everyone" and a tiny flashback of him with his belly belt supposedly from a new package? And it would make the whole "you are just like us" Iida moment a lot more significant. If they make him a subplot I would like them explore this more
  • Supported by the fact that Aoyama has yet to use his Quirk without his belt on. If anything, his "quirk" is just a beam from his belt, rather than the person.
  • More fuel to the fire is the very name of his supposed Quirk: "Navel Laser". Now, how big is a navel again? (Hint: Lift up your shirt and check for the answer) Considering if this is to be taken literally, even if he isn't Quirkless, the Quirk itself would be pretty much worthless without that belt, as not only would the laser be really, frigging small and thin, it might not even have the same range as it supposedly does with the belt on. Also, there might be inconsistencies with the assumed "drawbacks" as well. We know it is supposed to be "stomach ache/cramps" from repeated use...however, a navel isn't connected to the stomach, it's not connected to anything really, it's just a bump in the skin, a scar from an umbilical cord. Why would he get stomach pains from something connected to his navel alone? It doesn't make sense, unless...the pains are actually coming from overheating the belt too much, essentially boiling his innards with repeated usage. Regardless, the signs of his quirk being an actual quirk are alarmingly low...even more so considering that we don't know what his parents' quirks are either.
  • If Aoyama is to be believed, it's a bit more complicated than that. He never uses his Navel Laser without the belt because doing so is dangerous. Like Deku was initially with One for All, Aoyama was born with a Quirk he couldn't control, doctors even noting it tended to leak out, and could cause him stomach pain. The Belt is a regulation device met to keep his Navel Laser in control and let him actually use it, but if he overuses it, he still suffers stomach cramps and if bad enough, diarrhea. (Possible explanation for his love of Cheese, as Cheese can be known to cause constipation) So it's not that he's Quirkless, nor is it that his quirk, on its own, is any powerful. The Belt is needed so he can actually control his quirk, and acts as a magnifier so he doesn't have to push himself as hard.
    • He also says its why he was so invested in Deku, including stalking him. He sees Deku as a Kindred Spirit, someone born with a Quirk (Obviously not knowing about One For All) they couldn't control and would cause them pain when used. But he also sees Deku as someone inspiring, since Deku was able to get a hold of his quirk in the time they've been at UA without a Support Device, whereas Aoyama hasn't in 15 years and can only do so with a support device. He sees Deku as a Foil to himself, and as such is heavily interested in him.
  • Confirmed...at least in his past: He was born Quirkless, so his parents struck a deal with All For One to give him a Quirk. The only problem was that his body didn’t adapt that well to it, explaining why he cramps up after prolonged use of the laser.

Aoyama has learned about One For All (and how it transfers)
After the raid arc, we learn that Aoyama has been stalking Midoriya, watching him from outside his window while he sleeps. And we see him feed Midoriya some cheese when Midoriya isn't expecting it. Aoyama then eats the remaining half of the cheese before offering Midoriya more. It's possible he was trying to get Midoriya's spit in an attempt to take One for All.
  • A possibility, but it doesn't seem that he knows how the transfer fully works. One For All can only be transferred if the user is willing to transfer it, and Midoriya doesn't seem to be very willing to transfer it to Aoyama anytime soon, given his reaction to Aoyama's attempt.

Mina is a fan of Star Trek: The Original Series or something similar.
Why. Because not only does she look like a Pink Skinned Space Babe, in her hero costume, she dresses like one too. And she had to her inspiration from somewhere.
  • Alternatively, a close friend or family member is the fan and convinced her to take the look and run with it.

Kirishima was a failed attempt from Endeavor to create a heir
It isn't unreasonable for Endeavor to have slept around in order to create a heir for himself. Endeavor was already married at the point when he met Kirishima's mom, but none of his current children had shown potential. He slept with her, as Hardening clearly has offensive abilities in addition to defensive ones and combined with fire, would make a force to be reckoned with. Kirishima took his mother's last name, as Endeavor had already moved on to trying for more children with his wife and didn't even bother with his son. Kirishima has his mom's hair color, instead of Endeavor's.

Hagakure will hone her light-manipulation and eventually gain force field powers.
They're a great defensive ability, and there isn't a Barrier Warrior among the cast yet. She already has Susan Storm's initial codename and powers. Should her powers be delved into more, it'll bring the reference full-circle and coincide with her taking a level in badass.

Momo's family made their fortune by illegally stockpiling gold made by their Quirk.
If her Quirk is hereditary, then it wouldn't be out of the question that they could convert their fat into gold. It would make sense given how unbelievably huge their estate is.
  • If they really were engaged in such illegalities - them being connected to the Yakuza is a quite popular theory - it feels strange they'd allow their daughter to become an heroine, a potential future enemy of their own affairs. However, they may have decided to protect her and keep her completely out of their criminal activities, to the point of even accepting her heroic aspirations; they may later use their connections to send her working far away from them.
  • Alternatively, that may be how the family originally started their business, but they have amassed their wealth through more honest means in more recent generations. Still, Momo may know about her family's former wrongdoings and might be a bit self-conscious about it. She did seem rather quick to shut down the idea of her making extra money with her quirk.

Momo is Shigaraki's younger sister
As shown in this post, there seem to be striking similarities between Momo as a kid and Hana, the sister from Tenko Shimura (aka Tomura Shigaraki)'s flashbacks, and between Momo in the present and Nana Shimura, Shigaraki's grandmother. She may have survived the event that killed the rest of her and Tomura's family, and was adopted by a wealthy family also due to her versatile quirk, which is ironically a polar opposite of Shigaraki's (she creates, he destroys).
  • What makes the theory dubious are the ages. Hana was older than Tomura/Tenko and he was younger than 10 when the tragedy happened, while Momo is at least 4 years younger than him. Unless other factors - beside her having suffered complete amnesia and being practically another person today - are involved, like Momo being in truth older than she looks, or some convenient quirk used to halt her physical growth for some years, it feels unlikely and it may be just due to coincidental similarities in some of the traits used by Horikoshi to design certain characters. As much as he's capable of avoding the Only Six Faces trope more than other mangakas, with so many characters it can happen sooner or later. For the same reason, there are also theories about Momo being related to Overhaul.
    • OP didn't say Momo was Hana, she could have been recently born into the family so Shigaraki didn't really have any lingering memories of her especially since as a baby, she didn't contribute to his suffering.
  • After chapter 236 this theory can be put to rest, unless one wants to theorize memory alteration, so not everything we see in Shigaraki's flashback really happened.
    • There is a way the theory could still work. Kotaro may have had a brief affair with Momo's mother a few years after Shigaraki's birth. This led to Momo's conception, which he never knew about. Mrs. Yaoyorozu went on to give birth to Momo, whom she raised under the belief that her father is a different man because she was too ashamed to admit her daughter is the product of an affair (she is married or marrying into a wealthy family at the time, after all). Either way, this would make Momo the half-sister of Shigaraki, rather than his full-sister.

Momo’s Quirk doesn’t work exactly the way she thinks it does.
For her Quirk to work as depicted would need several Required Secondary Powers:
  • She has hyper-speed, but also adjustable digestion, since she can eat to replenish her stores in mere hours, rather than the one to five days that normal complete digestion takes. This ability can also turn off, since she also isn’t constantly starving to death.
  • She has a mild Healing Factor, since she can gain and lose body tissues (fat is a tissue) without suffering damage to her dermis or organs.
  • She has some sort of pocket dimension that objects are formed in before teleporting out, since they don’t emerge slowly like they’re being 3D printed, nor do they leave gaping wounds in her flesh.
  • Being formed elsewhere also stops her from setting off nuclear explosions and emitting radiation from fusing lighter elements into heavier ones.
  • She is definitely tapping somewhere else for matter/energy, since she is creating objects far more massive than she is (like cannons). If her Quirk were working wholly off her own body stores, she’d have to be as big as Fatgum between uses, and dense to the point of being unable to walk, instead of the slender (if busty) girl she is.
  • Her lipid stores could work to “prime the pump” for accessing her ability, which is why they serve as a limiting factor to her Quirk.

Todoroki is a chimera.
As in, the real-world condition in which a pair of twins combine into a single fetus while in the early stages of development. His hair and quirk are both split perfectly down his center, much like we see in many animal chimeras. If he originally developed as a set of twins who had each of his parents' Quirks, but then combined into a Chimera, it could explain why the two quirks aren't integrated into one the way Bakugo's parent's quirks are in Bakugo.

Tokoyami's childhood is comparable to Noriaki Kakyoin.
In the sense that when his quirk manifested, he probably thought of Dark Shadow as something the other kids couldn't understand, and as such, kept to himself, much like Kakyoin did when he discovered Hierophant Green. Dark Shadow was probably his only "friend" at the time too, until his days at UA, or when he learned more about heroes.
  • This is supported by how Dark Shadow, in contrast to Tokoyami himself, is much more outgoing, like an alter ego showing parts of his personality he wouldn't normally. Tokoyami also probably saw maintaining a reserved personality as a necessity to keep Dark Shadow in check - were he temperamental, the results wouldn't be pretty.

Toru will learn to become visible at will
Her Quirk is a mutation and her invisibility is permanent. However, even if she's used it only once so far, she's become capable of generating light flashes, an ability connected to the light-bending properties of her body; if she learned to further control them through training, she may eventually manage to even cancel them temporarily, making herself visible to others.

Todoroki will end up taking Endeavor as his hero name
In chapter 45 Iida and Todoroki were the only ones who took up their own names as their hero names, but later on Iida took Ingenium, honoring his brother's request to take on his mantle after first refusing it. Assuming Todoroki will also choose a proper hero name for himself in the future, and considering his current status as waiting and seeing how his father Endeavor goes through with his declared attempts at redemption, after Endeavor is killed, loses his quirk, or is reduced to a state he can't resume heroics anymore, Todoroki will decide to accept his father's hero alias as his own, especially if his father ultimately managed to deserve forgiveness from him.

Sooner or later Kirishima will face Gigantomachia
He will recognize the giant as that odd but very menacing villain who threatened those two girls, and was sent away by Mina while Kirishima couldn't resolve himself to act. Of course, it will trigger all of his fears of inadequacy, beside being a formidable opponent that makes Rappa feel like he was a puppy. Beating Giganto, possibly also thanks to strategy and not just raw strength, will be Kirishima's biggest test in his personal arc. Bonus points if:
  • Mina is also involved in the fight and injured, further motivating Kirishima to win.
  • Bakugo is involved in the fight and injured, further motivating Kirishima to win.
  • The theory that Gigantomachia used to be Crimson Riot turns out to be true, shocking Kirishima but at the same time strengthening his determination with the goal to "save" his role model turned monster.
  • Confirmed! Kirishima was not only the one to ultimately stop Gigantomachia (albeit by using a sedative Momo made), but he also saved Mina from being crushed in the process.

Aoyama will become an Ascended Extra.
Seeing as how there were two entire chapters dedicated to him befriending Midoriya. Granted, that was almost a hundred chapters ago, but he has just as much emphasis put on him in the early chapters as Bakugo, Uraraka, and Iida, all of whom are main characters. He's bound to become more important eventually.

Kirishima's parents are a lesbian couple.
The irony of Mr. Manliness coming from a predominantly female home would be funny.

Kirishima is related to Gigantomachia
My personal bet is on Gigantomachia being Kirishima's estranged father, but I'm willing to go with uncle, cousin, or even grandfather (since we don't know Gigantomachia's age). Gigantomachia's silhouette looks very similar to Kirishima's Unbreakable state, his hair is styled rather similarly, and they have pretty much the same teeth. We don't know the details of Gigantomachia's quirk, but we do know it makes him incredibly durable and strong, similar to Kirishima's. In addition, the run-in with Ashido and Kirishima in middle school seems like the two are fated to meet again, this time with Kirishima confronting his fear. Perhaps similar to the "Kirishima is a failed Endeavour child" theory above, Kirishima was an atttempt by All For One to create a second Gigantomachia, but the child only showed a fraction of what Gigantomachia could manage, so All For One had Gigantomachia abandon the child and his mother. While Kirishima may mention having more than one parent at some point, the only one he has specifically talked about is his mother (who he says told him about how he got his eye scar), so that leaves open the possibility that his mother may have found a new partner/spouse after Gigantomachia left.

Dark Shadow is not Tokoyami's Quirk.
Tokoyami's Quirk is the bird head, and the ability to store the "Darkness" energy that Dark Shadow needs. Dark Shadow himself is the manifested Quirk of Tokoyami's fetus-in-fetu twin. Evidence for this is the fact that Dark Shadow seems to have his own personality, as well as his own volition, cooperating with Tokoyami's requests on a voluntary basis. We never see Tokoyami able to force Dark Shadow to do anything. Shadow's behavioral shifts are a side effect of his Quirk.

Mineta will swear off girls...and then get a girlfriend
When the least likely of his classmates attracts a girl, it will be such a blow to Mineta's ego that he decides there really is no hope for him. A cute girl shows interest in him short after, helped in part by Mineta being less of a perverted little troll. In brief, the grape-themed character will experience Sweet and Sour Grapes.

We will get to see how Toru looks like in a Fan Disservice moment
During a fight she'll use the stealth abilities she's honed through training (i.e. accompanying her natural invisibility with the ability to not make any noise) to get the drop on a villain; however, she'll end up shot with a quirk-erasing bullet, finding herself reduced to just a naked girl at the mercy of the enemy, if it wasn't for the presence of her friends. Even if she was to later recover her quirk - the bullet may even be of the temporary type, which is still useful to the villains -the combination of the loss of it, the embarrassment, and the sense of helplessness of that moment will be a trauma that will take some time to heal.

Mina Ashido is Autistic
She moves her arms back and forth, and at one time, moved her hands sideways. Can’t you see that?

    Other Students
Inasa's father is Endeavor
Somewhere along the line, Endeavor had an extramarital affair, and Inasa was the result of said affair. However, either because Inasa didn't live up to Endeavor's standards of being a proper prodigy, or other possible reasons (including him maybe not even being AWARE that he sired an illegitimate child), Inasa was never recognized as Endeavor's son, and he may hold some resentment towards Todoroki, Endeavor's 'true heir'. The possible evidence for this being his seeming to resemble Endeavor facially, his meaningful glares at Todoroki and his obsession with 'hotness' (I admit though that that last one is a stretch).

Everything About Inasa
  • Aizawa claims that Inasa was ranked the best of the Recommended Students as they also had to take a separate exam from normal applicants. This makes him stronger than both Yaoyorozu and Todoroki. Because of how supposedly strong he is and the small hype we're getting about him, there's a high chance that he'll be the reason why at least one or two of Class 1-A won't pass the exam.
  • The way Todoroki looks at Inasa when he first appeared suggests that he's very familiar with him, or at the least remembers him and not in a good way. Some speculate that they went to the same middle school, but if that was the case than Inasa would most likely have said something about it. The most likely case is that Todoroki remembers him from the recommended student's exam, mostly for kicking his ass. If the above is true, then Todoroki is the only one familiar with Inasa's quirk and knows it through first-hand experience. These very small implications pretty much set-up Inasa as Todoroki's rival in the License Exam arc.
  • According to some translators, one way to write Inasa's full name includes the characters for "storm." Going by Horikoshi's history of naming, this implies that Inasa's quirk has something to do with controlling weather like components. This troper is going to guess that he can create storms from his body, so he can do things like produce large amounts of wind and lightning. Both could very well beat both of Todoroki's abilities.
    • However, going by the fact that Quirks tend to balance, so that use too much you will strain it/ get hurt, what would his weakness be? Would he have Required Secondary Powers of immunity to electricity, or being able to breath in high wind?
      • Chapter 104 reveals that he has a wind-based Quirk.
      • Well, he's the reason Todoroki didn't pass the exam.

Monoma is All For One's son or descendant
It would explain his Quirk and his arrogant attitude. His power copying is considerably weaker than All For One's if he's his descendant.
  • His Copy power is somewhat similar to All for One (the power); it relies on other people's Quirks and isn't that powerful on its own. Neito was told multiple times growing up that he could never be a Hero, which is definitely something AfO would espouse. Neito could be at UA to try to escape his father, or as a plant.
  • Monoma's uniform is a tux. AfO favors nice suits, even in battle.

Monoma has Abusive Parents
In the Joint Training arc, Monoma mentioned that growing up, he’d been told countless times he couldn’t be a hero with his quirk. However, he never revealed exactly who had said this. So, it’s possible that instead of his peers, he developed his Inferiority Superiority Complex from his parents. Maybe there’s a Fantasy-Forbidding Father and/or a cruel mother involved who constantly belittles him and puts down all of his achievements, eventually warping his mindset to the cynical one he has now.

Monoma has been Obfuscating Insanity/Obfuscating Stupidity since the Sports Festival
Considering that his tactic for getting ahead and eventually winning in the Sports Festival was to deliberately underperform in order to get a strategic edge, it wouldn't be surprising if he has been applying the same tactic to the Joint-Training exercise by maintaining an egotistical facade for the same purpose.

Shinso will have a role in fighting Gigantomachia
He will manage to get his hands on the voicebox with All For One's voice, so to reproduce it through his voice changer. Giganto would be too concentrated on his target(s) to respond to any provocation, but would react to his master's voice. With his strength and likely multiple quirks, the monster may free himself shortly after but also be angrier and starting to reply to Shinso's provocations, further causing himself to stop attacking for the few precious seconds that will give the other heroes the openings they need to defeat him.

Shirakumo never died
This troper find it odd that Kurogiri is a nomu and get he has mental functions on par with a human. The High End Nomus we've been shown are said to be able to think and learn but they are hardly coherent. This troper was trying to figure out how this might be and thought that perhaps, Shirakumo's wound wasn't fatal. Perhaps his mental abilities never declined to the point of a high end's was because he was turned into Kurogiri before he was rendered brain dead. Keep in mind that one's personality can change in extremes after head trauma, especially if there were underlying issues. Then add in behaviour modification and you could have someone like Kurogiri that doesn't know he's someone else. If one actually looks at cults and the process of indoctrination, you can see that Kurogiri's one tract mind towards his purpose of caring for Shigaraki is reminiscent of how cults can assign tasks to members and have them under the belief that it is necessary to live. It's also telling that Kurogiri, someone who's usually so mild mannered, immediately grew defensive when confronted about not being someone he thought he was. It is similar to a reaction from cult members who have their ideologies questioned and defences raised.

This troper's most damning evidence however, is that Shirakumo actually made an appearance. If Shirakumo was dead, shouldn't his personality be dead too? There might be lingering characteristics, but Shirakumo actually appearing, calling to shota, and giving him a vital piece of information is super weird if he's supposed to be dead. Ghosts and bringing people back to life like that isn't really this work's style. It would make more sense if you thought about it in the way that Shirakumo never died, but his personality and behaviour was modified to the point that his authentic self was buried. It would make sense that he's still there, and also provide an explanation for his unusually high intelligence. Also, to explain the quirk, Cloud WAS used as a base for warp gate. All for One can merge quirks inside of himself. It's not too farfetched to believe that the process of making Shirakumo different body-wise could be done while he was alive. In fact, such extreme modification could be used to further distance Kurogiri from Shirakumo on a subconscious level.

Mei Hatsume or Melissa Shield will become an Iron Man-like Science Hero.
Mei essentially created a set of ODM Gear for the Sports Festival. Melissa created the Full Gauntlet, which was able to withstand the incredible force of One For All. Either one of them could likely create a Powered Armor suit capable of Pro Hero activity. The legal authorities will allow it due to the need for heroes.

Mei Hatsume is a Genius

A Staunen Artificer, to be specific, with dots in Prostasia and perhaps Skafoi. Her inventions go haywire because of Havoc; the reason they don't regularly do this is because the world of Quirks is strange anyway, which gives Inspired creations a good measure of protection, and the tamer ones can be reliably used as support equipment.

    Pro Heroes
Mount Lady will encounter another female hero with a similar quirk.

But it will turn out that the other heroine's gigantification quirk is superior to Lady's in every way: she can adjust how much she grows, it grants her a level of invulnerability, and her maximum height is greater than Lady's. In a bit of karma, the new hero will end up upstaging Yu in some way and leave the latter jealously sulking.

Recovery Girl has a relatively large family, all of which inherited her Quirk on some level.
Her Quirk is stated to be rare, but not unique, should anything happen to her, one of her children will take over her role at U.A., the thing is that even with a large family, her Quirk is unique to her family, so it is still considered absurdly rare as her descendants are scattered all over the world trying to make the best use of their abilities.

Recovery Girl's Quirk is Cast From Hitpoints.
A lot of Pro Heroes have titles; for instance, Yaoyorozu gives herself the title of "The Everything Hero", Tsuyu gives herself the title of "Rainy Season Hero", and Tokoyami dubs himself "Jet-Black Hero". Recovery Girl, whose Quirk involves healing wounds, is dubbed the "Youthful Hero". It's possible she received that title during her youth and it just stuck, but most Quirks have a physical cost and all of them have a physical mechanism, whether it's Bakugo's explosions being capable of injuring him through kickback, Todoroki having to regulate his heat to avoid frostbite from his right side, or (most obviously) Midoriya's early use of OFA breaking half of the bones in his body. Recovery Girl's healing Quirk may come at the cost of her own physical age, using her DNA as a catalyst to repair the injuries of others; she could very well be in her thirties, and from using her Quirk so much, she may have rapidly aged.

This, of course, invokes some Fridge Horror: Recovery Girl hasn't been on-call for any of Deku's injuries since his fight against Todoroki at the Sports Festival, and said that she wouldn't treat him for anything else that severe. What if treating any more of Deku's wounds with her Quirk would literally kill her? And it's implied that healing Quirks are very rare...

  • This should be Cast from Lifespan instead of Cast From Hitpoints, but otherwise it's a good theory and very plausible.
    • Jossed- Recovery Girl has been with U.A. for forty years. Unless she was there since she was negative 10 years old, it seems like she really is as old as she looks.

Kamui Woods is an amputee
All the wood on his body is clearly external armor, with the sole exception of his arms, which seem to actually be made of wood and he seems to actually transform his arms while using them, while this could just be a physical manifestation of his quirk its also possible he used his quirk to create a pair of prosthetics, its also possible his quirk can only grow and control existing wood not create it, and thus these prosthetic serve the double purpose of making sure he always has a source of wood on hand (pardon the pun).

Endeavor will get a Redemption Equals Death
A good way to redeem his character without causing an uproar about him being Easily Forgiven or a Karma Houdini. Bonus points if it's a Heroic Sacrifice.

Gran Torino is related to Shigaraki
Think about it. We see Shigaraki move to grab Tsu's face in a puff of smoke. It's possible that Shigaraki's original quirk wasn't Decay at all. Instead, it was Jet. AFO gave Shigaraki Decay, as he found Jet to be insufficient.

Gran Torino was a member of the super heroes version of a black ops team
Began re-watching the series, and I have begun noticing things that lead to this as a possibility. Deku can't find any information on him at all, and yet he clearly is a known member of the community. In one of the manga chapters he is leading a squad, and it appears like the heroes in the squad from the armed forces assigned to him are very familiar with him leading them. In addition, he seems to have access to a lot of information that not even other heroes have access to, or at least only those who have what might amount to high level clearance.

He's a guy who looks exactly like a spotted seal, and seal pups tend to be really freaking cute, since they have fluffy fur that covers their bodies. It's possible that Selkie used to be cute and fluffy as a kid/teen and often tried to do that "cute" act for various reasons (publicity, ego boosting, getting people to do stuff for him, etc.) but of course, when he grew up, the effect wore off and now he just looks silly when he does it.

Mirko, Ryukyu and Uwabami used to work together
While Uwabami's exact age is unknown, it's likely she's in her mid-twenties like Miruko and Ryukyu, who are known to be both 26 years old. The animal themes of their Quirks correspond to three signs of the Chinese Zodiac - rabbit, dragon and snake. Noticing that, back when they were new heroines fresh of graduation, they decided to form a team which may have included more animal-themed members. While it helped build their reputation (after all two of them would eventually become part of the Top 10 heroes of Japan), after some timethey disbanded and went their own ways due to growing differences and aspirations between them, with Mirko being quite individualistic while Uwabami chose to prioritize modeling over hero work. Theiy maintain, if not an amicable relationship, a decent one as, in Vigilante, they are seen giving a show together at the Sky Egg, and later Ryukyu and Mirko team up to take down one of the attacking monsters.

Best Jeanist Isn't Dead
After Hawks explained the situation with the League, he and Jeanist faked the latter's murder. This will be revealed when Best Jeanist pulls a Big Damn Heroes moment.
  • Confirmed in chapter 291 as Jeanist makes such an entrance.

    Villains
If Twice were to have his Quirk nullified or erased...
He would straight up vanish, because it turns out he was a clone all along.
  • Jossed as of the Meta Liberation Army arc. Taking some serious physical damage finally showed Twice he's indeed the original. It is to be seen, however, if there isn't more to it, like that the last "him" alive would just become the "main" one... he wouldn't take it nicely if he discovered he went mad for an issue that wasn't to begin with.

How Kurogiri’s body works
Kurogiri’s body is made up entirely of black mist, however besides the mist that Kurogiri uses to warp things, the mist is a sort of solid form that works and feels much like human flesh, and even contains a blood like substance inside of it that it can be used to activate blood related quirks. Kurogiri does require food, as the black mist doesn’t last forever, even the warping kind, thus him needing new materials in order to create more of it. However, how Kurogiri eats is unconventional, in that it’s essentially warped inside his body then subsequently broken down to create more black mist.

Gentle and La Brava will return as heroes.
Although Gentle may take up "Gentle Criminal" as his hero name due to his mischievous nature.

Spinner is Quirkless
He's only been seen fighting using knife weapons, but he hasn't been utilizing his Quirk at all, so why wouldn't he use his Quirk during battles, like in the Training Camp arc? He might just actually be Quirkless, and that could be another reason why he joined the League of Villains. But then why does he look like a turtle if he's Quirkless? Well, an "interesting video" brings up the topic of "Mini Mutations, where a character inherits a Mutation Quirk's physical characteristics, but not the Quirk itself (which would explain why Tokoyami has a bird head, yet his Quirk doesn't relate to birds at all). So Spinner could've gotten lizard traits from his parents, but not their quirks. Further proof is in the fact that Spinner has relatively low stats for a villain (C-Rank, shared with Toga and Twice, who've done more dangerous things than Spinner has), as well as his name not having any real meaning (aside from his family name meaning "Iguana", which given Spinner's appearance, seems like an obvious choice).
  • It's also possible that much like Midoriya, Dabi, and Aoyama his quirk isn't very compatible with his body and has side-effects, so he holds it in reserve unless it's seriously needed. It's also possible that he has a utility quirk of some sort that is useful in some situations but doesn't do much in combat.
    • Jossed after Chapter 233, where his Quirk is revealed as Gecko, a quirk that allows him to stick to walls.

Re-Destro will die of an heart attack
His "Stress" quirk is incredibly powerful and he may become even stronger if he was further stressed by a difficult situation; he may give Gigantomachia a run for his money. However, like any other quirk there must be some limit: in this case it's that the body, honed and used to the quirk as it may be, just can't handle an indefinite amount of stress. And so, ironically, the source of his power will also be his downfall.
  • Jossed. He has survived the battle, even if at the cost of losing his legs.

We may have seen the moment right after Shigaraki was forcibly given his quirk
Chapter 235 is a flashback showing that at age 5, Tenko Shimura (aka Shigaraki) hadn't developed a quirk yet - but he did shortly after. The same flashback begins with Tenko's mother thanking a man for accompanying her son home, apparently just a gentle stranger who helped the kid. But what if he wasn't just a simple man, but All For One who took the chance to give the quirkless, emotionally distressed kid whom he had been observing for a while a very destructive quirk?

Toga will pull a Heel–Face Turn
My reasoning is as follows: as early as Chapter 222, we see a possible conflict of interest (albeit a quickly smoothed-over one) begin to arise between Shigaraki and Toga, where Shigaraki states that his desire is to destroy everything, before amending his statement when Toga asks if that means everything that she likes will get destroyed too. But the things that Toga "loves" the most at the moment are Deku and Uraraka, so it will be interesting to see if Shigaraki actually is willing to spare them, especially given that Deku is All Might's successor in the same way that Shigaraki is All For One's. If he decides to try to destroy them anyway over Toga's protests, that might be the catalyst she needs to turn on the villains.

The other possibility has to do with Toga's quirk and the way she processes "loving" someone, because that ultimately boils down to her wanting to become that person. And as seen in her fight with Curious, if she loves someone enough, she can copy them to the point of being able to use their quirk, in this case Uraraka's. What if her quirk can actually go further than that, and trying to "love someone more" can temporarily reshape her mental state to be more like that person's? If that is the case, then Deku and Uraraka are both very good and heroic people. If Toga "became" someone that heroic in both body and mind, even for a little while, she might accidentally apply the early stages of Heel–Face Brainwashing on herself. I think this idea is especially possible if in copying Deku and using One For All, she accidentally wires herself into the vestige network for a short time, as that could give her a much more thorough exposure to Deku's mind and what makes him heroic. From Toga's twisted perspective, it's essentially a Love Redeems arc. Everyone else on the other hand, while glad there's one less villain they're fighting, will be understandably weirded out about the whole thing.

Keep in mind that none of this actually guarantees that Toga joins up with the heroes even if it happens. She could just as easily submit to being sent to prison or rehab, become an anti-villain vigilante, or get hit with the Redemption Equals Death stick.

Shigaraki will eventually take up the villain name/title "All For Nothing"
-to reflect both his status as All For One's successor and his driving motivation of wanting to destroy everything.
  • Except Shigaraki himself states he won't destroy anything his minions desire.

Kurogiri is Oboro Shirakumo
At the end of Chapter 253, Gran Torino reveals that analyses on the currently imprisoned Kurogiri have found out his Warp quirk was made up from a fusion of other quirks, the base one being Cloud, the quirk of the presumedly long-dead UA classmate of Eraser Head and Present Mic.

As the recent flashback arc in Vigilante has shown, Shirakumo was last seen hit in the head and buried by rubble after protecting a group of kids from a villain, and after the battle just a bloody blanket over his corpse was seen. But was he really there? He may have been pronounced dead while in truth he was in critical condition but still alive, and brought to the Doctor who kept him alive before doing all the operations that resulted in the Warp quirk and his new appearance. Alternatively, his corpse was effectively revived in a Frankenstein-esque experiment. Either way, as the second character book revealed, the Doctor owned and managed several hospitals so he may have had easy access to him.

Kurogiri may fully remember his past and have embraced All For One's cause out of gratitude for being saved and given a new life, or he may have completely forgot and effectively be a new individual today, even if that may open the door to a plotline of him getting his lost memories back, followed by an identity crisis and a redemption.

It's also worth noting that "Shirakumo" and "Kurogiri" are thematically opposite names, meaning "White Cloud" and "Black Mist" respectively, signifying a once clean and pure individual now twisted into a villain.

  • Sort of. He's a Noumu made from Shirakumo's corpse.

Kurogiri is not Oboro Shirakumo
Every new reveal about the Doctor's work on behalf of All For One leaves some doubt on how far their horrifiying experiments could go; for all we know currently, they may be even capable of extracting Quirk Factors from freshly dead people. They got hold of Shirakumo's corpse - they couldn't let a quirk like his go to waste - and harvested it for whatever material was needed to reproduce his quirk, and then combine it with the others needed to result in the Warp quirk, which was finally given to another individual.

Therefore Kurogiri would be not Shirakumo by any means but it still would be emotionally devastating for Eraser Head and Present Mic: at the very least, the body of their friend would have been horribly desecrated to create a villain.

  • Confirmed-ish. Kurogiri is a Noumu created from Shirakumo's corpse. While Aizawa doubts that there's anything left of his friend, but Naomasa hopes that Kurogiri retained enough of Shirakumo's personality (much like how High-End retained a love of fighting) that Aizawa can reach him.

Kurogiri will pull a Face–Heel Turn
He saved Mic and Aizawa from falling to their deaths and said he was a “protector”. Logically if he was protecting Shigaraki he would have let them die. It can’t fully be ruled out that he wants to not kill them but keep them out of action, but still, the other seems more logical. And if he wanted Erasure for All For One, why save Mic? Maybe Aizawa reached something and Oboro is Fighting from the Inside of Kurogiri and convinced Kurogiri to save them.

Maruta Shiga is not "Daruma Ojiko"'s real name either.
Considering that Maruta Shiga (or whatever he'll be renamed to in the next volume) is labelled as Quirkless in his "introduction" despite truly having a Longevity Quirk (albeit one he gave himself), what's to say he's lying about his public name too? He did say that he's tried to keep his personal information secret, and that could just be a name he's using to hide his real identity. Plus, the fact that he looks so much like Dr. Tsubasa...

Daruma is inspired by Emperor Palpatine.
All For One clearly has some inspiration from Darth Vader. Daruma and Palpatine, while very different, are both villains who would rather plan than fight directly. Maybe as the story progresses Daruma will show more similarities to Palpatine.

'Daruma Ujiko' is actually Dr. Tsubasa
I'm not the first one to notice that they look completely identical, it's even on their character sheets. They're both bald, have the same head shape, same mustache, same glasses, same voice actor, and same profession. The Doctor even admits that 'Daruma Ujiko' isn't actually his name. Dr. Tsubasa is also the grandfather of the Tsubasa who is implied to be the Flying Nomu. It would also tie the Doctor in to Izuku's story, as it turns out he was the one who diagnosed Izuku as Quirkless, and open up a lot of story possibilities (was the Doctor lying about Izuku being quirkless, for whatever reason? Was he a family practitioner first, or was it a cover for his illegal activities? Was All for One interested in Dr. Tsubasa's patients for some reason? Why would he consider nomuizing his own grandson?). I'd honestly be more surprised if the Doctor wasn't Dr. Tsubasa.

Toga is technically the final student of the class Aizawa expelled on day 1
Toga turned out to be surprisingly skilled even before snapping, enough to overpower a boy who apparently often got into fights and then survive on the streets. Would make sense she tried to enter UA to have the chance to use her Quirk safely or with people who could stop her if she was as villainous as they said, trained as much as she could and managed to pass the test and get assigned to the class Aizawa would later expel... And then, before she could actually reap the benefits of her plan, she lost control.

Shigareki will perform a Heel Realization with Heroic Sacrife or Heel–Face Turn and join to heroes side, by actually discovering his quirk works similiar to Overhaul, as it can be also used as Healing Hands
This ability will be used as a way to help Heroes in Final War, and will be one of these "hidden" quirks he gained in that arc. It's possible there won't be a way too reverse previous murders, but he will be using his new ability to help other helpless people, while still being contained in prison.

Geten is related to the Todoroki family
Namely from the family of Rei. Knowledge of how Endeavor treated Rei (or even before that, the simple fact Rei was forced into a Quirk Marriage) led Geten to hate the hero system, thus falling into the propaganda of the MLA to the point of meeting Re-Destro and becoming a personal favorite of him. With the extremely popular theory that Dabi is Rei and Endeavor's oldest son, it'd made the Todorokis even more of a Big, Screwed-Up Family.
  • Confirmed on the relation. Geten is part of the Himura family; his exact relationship to Rei is still unknown but he notes that the Himuras are inbred. Nothing on his views regarding her marriage to Endeavor though.

Flect Turn and Overhaul met before.
Two people who despise Quirks in spite of each having one themselves. They likely got along at first before Overhaul revealed the source of his Quirk-destroying method (Eri) which may have actually managed to genuinely horrify Flect.

After their potential partnership soured Flect went off on his own out of disgust and was likely indifferent upon hearing of his would-have-been colleague’s downfall.

    Others
High End is somehow possessed.
It’s been shown that Nomu are pretty much brain-dead due to the process of creating them but High End retains his intelligence. Not because of something special about him or an advancement in the way they make them, but rather he was a normal Nomu rendered brain-dead only to have someone with a mind swapping or possession Quirk take over his body. While the physical damage to the brain is still there, it’s not perfect but it allows them to keep some intelligence.

A Nomu will be redeemed.
All Nomu but one are shown to be brain dead, and the only intelligent one is both very loyal and now very dead, so it seems impossible, but Eri exists, a person whose quirk is literally to reverse someones body to a previous point. This could lead to her completely restoring Nomus to before they were turned, or go half way, after they were given multiple quirks but before it got to the point they lost there mind. You could have a whole team of Half-Nomu.
  • The Half-Nomu idea wouldn't work. The reason Nomu are rendered brain dead is because they have multiple quirks, something their brains are incapable of processing due to not having the mental capacity for multiple distinct quirks. Eri's quirk reverts biomatter back to a point in time, so if she tried to use it on the Nomu, the only way they wouldn't be brain dead would be if they were reverted to the point before they received their additional quirks, as that would be when their brains were operational.
  • Eri's quirk also isn't something that can be relied on. She has no control over it whatsoever, and the few times she willingly used it, to help Deku fight Overhaul and then separate Overhaul from his Precepts, they were purely random outcomes. It was said the only reason Deku didn't vanish out of existence is because he repeatedly broke his body so that Eri would have to continually revert it, and that the two only escaped this vicious cycle because Aizawa managed to erase their quirks simultaneously. Even after, Eri using her quirk left her in critical condition due to a horrible fever, and after waking up, the horn that dictates her quirks power had noticeably shrunken, implying its not as strong anymore. Although the horn is slightly growing again, it would still take time, and unless Aizawa is around to immediately shut her quirk off, it could be catastrophic.
  • More intelligent Nomu called High-End's have been created and with increased intelligence come the capacity to rebel especially if they remember what's been done to them.
    • Well, Naomasa and Gran Torino are trying to invoke this with Kurogiri, but time will tell whether or not they succeed.

Hisashi Midoriya has a dragon head or some other similarity to a dragon
Inspired by this post, which points out how there are lots of people in the series with weird appearances that fit their quirks, but at the same time wouldn't be expected if you only knew them from their quirks (like Mina basically being a pink alien and Tokoyami having a crow's head). In both cases, their appearances fit their quirks (Mina secretes acid and looks like an alien, Tokoyami controls a demon and his face resembles a common occult Animal Motif), but only by pure coincidence. The only thing we know about Hisashi is that he breathes fire, so, as the original post points out, him resembling a dragon isn't much of a stretch.

Hawks' father was a criminal if not a Villain
The second Character Book has revealed Hawks' real name to be Keigo Takami. In chapter 250, the villain Ending recalls the time he saw Endeavor arrest a thief called Takami. Given how Keigo grew up in a poor and possibly abusive household (a panel of him as a kid shows garbage and bottles on the floor behind him), at least originally his father may have resorted to crime even to just put some food on the table, but kept committing crimes afterwards until his arrest years later. While Keigo owned an Endeavor toy as a kid, his specific interest in the then #2 Hero may have started upon learning his father was arrested by him.
  • Confirmed in chapter 291. His father was also responsible of several murders and it's a reason why Hawks' true generalities were unknown to the public (altough, for all we know, he may have been given a different last name).

Shirakumo's family will be introduced.
Seeing as how the current arc is focusing on his ultimate fate, it makes sense that we'll eventually hear from his family. If he had a younger sibling of some sort (particularly if they were only a baby when Shirakumo died or were born sometime in the intervening years), they could befriend Midoriya and company. Depending on just what's going on regarding the Shirakumo-Kurogiri situation (namely if Kurogiri is Shirakumo in a Winter Soldier-esque state of brainwashing or if Kurogiri is his own person and Shirakumo's body was just used as the base to make him), they'll serve as Morality Pets.

All For One's Brother resembles Shigaraki personality wise.
Tomura Shigaraki is a Psychopathic Manchild who is the successor of All For One. The brother of All For One is the first One For All user and the one who started the war against All For One and there is evidence to suggest he was a great hero, but the truth is, he has his flaws. He is more or less immature himself, tends to go without a plan and might be arrogant and stubborn. Of course, he doesn't go near as far as Shigaraki and he most likely truly cares about justice (or at least he thinks he does), but the flaws are still there. Also, he would not accept the fact that he resembles Shigaraki. All For One wasn't entirely wrong when he called him weak and pathetic.

All For One's brother's name was Tomura.
The first user looks a lot like Tenko (naturally it's the other way around in-universe), and we now know that "Shigaraki" was the brothers' surname. It would be quite the thing if he rechristened his successor after his brother both to say that "Tomura is on my side" as he so very much wished during his brother's lifetime, and as a massive middle-finger to every user of One For All with the implication that the image of the first user is their enemy. The fact that Tenko is Nana's grandson was just icing on the cake.

Chimera from the second movie was affected by a persecution complex
Little is known about him but the general gist is that his heavy mutation caused him to be bullied and persecuted, ultimately leading to become a villain by joining Nine. Yet, as many fans have noted, his incredible strength and versatility would have easily made him a Top 10 hero if he was on the other side of the law. And not like his looks would have been a deterrent as even villainous-looking heroes can reach high ranks (see Gang Orca). However and sadly, from a very young age Chimera suffered from severe self-image issues that led him to conflate any wrongdoing against him - when you think for a moment, few people would actually try and pick on him once they realized his strenght - ultimately causing him to start reacting even violently, in a vicious downward spiral. While there would be still responsibility from people who could have better helped him growing up, most of Chimera's demons were unfortunately self-made.

The first One For All Wielder is the real megalomaniac
When the all brothers were fighting, the younger one accused the older of being a meglomaniac, but the latter asked who the real megalomaniac is. All For One is evil and obsessed with power, but that doesn't mean he's a megalomaniac. Not to mention that he probably wasn't as bad when the fight with his brother started. Deep down All For One might truly care about some people and he is perfectly aware that he wouldn't have come this far without his subordinates (even if he sees them only as tools) and that he still needs them. He's trying to specifically instigate fear and hate of him in most people, what kind of narcissist would want that? He als has a (mostly) realistic view of his own capabilities and does not put his subordinates down or carve constant admiration from them, not even in subtle way. He also believes that you can always become more powerful at everything. His brother on the other hand, does have an inflated ego. He has a Holier Than Thou attitude, is more concerned about gloating about his deeds than the fact that Deku was missing parts of his body, wasn't successful in the fight against his brother, yet puts himself on a pedestal. The main reason he lost was his pride. He doesn't always brag on, that's because he's mostly a covert narcissist. When he's telling Deku he'll be watched, it's because he has a big ego and likes to point out how good he is at protecting Deku. He also hates the fact that for a long time he thought he was quirkless and after discovering he actually had a quirk, he became obsessed with it. All For One might've been doing bad stuff in the past too, but his brother was relly self projecting the thing about megalomania.

When Eri masters Rewind, she will be unstoppable
Granted, this assumes she can use her Quirk on herself. But think about the fight with Overhaul when her Quirk was working on Deku. His limbs would shatter from the power of OFA 100% and then immediately rewind to perfect health. Imagine if Eri masters her power and enters U.A. as a student. She could immedaitely heal any would she suffers that isn't an immediate killshot as long as she has fuel for her Quirk, indicated by the size of her horn. Further, she could heal her classmates and other heroes, too. Heck, if she's feeling extra she could rewind villains to remove their Quirks.

Koda's dad is the Scary Looking Monster with all the other Villains
At some point after All Might and Gran Torino discuss about the possible return of All For One, we see four villains, and one of them is a pretty hulking individual in the middle of a forest. His features are similar to that of Koji Koda, the student he can use his ability to talk to animals. Maybe there's a link between these two?
  • The hulking individual is probably Gigantomachia, but any link between him and anyone other than All for One is unconfirmed.

Inko is related to Nana
She's probably Nana's daughter, making Izuku her grandson and Shigaraki's cousin. All Might notes Inko looks like Nana, as does Midoriya when he meets her. In Tenko's flashback, his father appears to use his Quirk to draw a garden tool to his hand. Inko's Quirk also lets her draw small objects to her.
  • Inko could also be a cousin of Kotaro, seeing as no mention of a daughter exists.
    • Alternatively Nana made sure no one knew of her daughter so AFO couldn't track her.

Inko will suffer an heart attack
After the mall incident she said she didn't know how much heart could hold; we didn't get to see her reaction to the state Izuku reduced himself during the villain attack at the training camp, but for a while she wanted to pull him out of UA; she likely wasn't informed at all about the events of the Overhaul arc. As of the Meta Liberation War arc she, just like any other parent of the UA students, isn't informed her son is participating in an operation whose stakes have become much bigger. It's however likely that as a TV helicopter is now transmitting from the destroyed city of Jaku, she will get to recognize Izuku there only to get struck by terrible chest pain soon after. In the aftermath Izuku will seriously consider quitting and giving One For All to someone else but, in an inversion of what happened after the Kamino arc, Inko will press him to go on, realizing that what he fights for now is much more important than just herself.

The Two Random Citizens in Chapters 91-93
The manga is giving panels to two citizens, a male and a female, and their reactions to the ongoing fight between AfO and OfA. It's possible that they're related to All Might. This is based on a hunch, since there's nothing really hinting about that link. But we are getting scenes of flashbacks from Toshinori, and it does seem like they're invested to a high degree in the fight (then again, everyone is).

Eri's mother will reappear
We don't know what happened to her after she left Eri by her grandfather. Her return would be intensely traumatic for the child, as she was abandoned and consigned to Overhaul's cruel experiments by her - she'd hardly want to see the woman, and the people protecting Eri would have all reasons to prevent that. The mother, on her hand, would feel tremendous guilt upon learning what Eri went through and sincerely want to remedy. Enter the villains, who would exploit her as a way to get Eri out of UA's protection legally... what about Rikiya Yotsubashi, the esteemed businessman with extra public sympathy points for the recent loss of his legs (aka Re-Destro, who lost the fight against Shigaraki), sponsoring her?
  • Sort of jossed since Re-Destro has recently been outed as a member of the MLA during the mansion raid. However, it still has potential for a smaller, more character-driven arc. Altelternatively, Eri's mom might be a deadbeat after all and is hiding out to avoid being blamed for putting Eri in such close proximity to Overhaul. It's been more than four months in story time since Eri's rescue and there is no indication that this lady has even attempted to check up on her daughter. Maybe Aizawa helps the police try and track her down to formally charge her with child abandonment/endangerment. After all, she did leave a little girl with an unstable, reality-warping quirk to the Yakuza seemingly without facing any consequences. The climax of the arc would likely feature Eri Calling the Old Man Out by telling her mom that she isn't cursed and that UA is her real family now.
    • To be fair, Eri's mom was traumatized by Eri's first quirk manifestation. It's very likely that by cursed she didn't mean evil or a monster, but rather that there was something wrong with Eri and she does have a point considering how dangerous the quirk is. The mother might not even be alive anymore and if she is she probably didn't try to reach to Eri because she feels ashamed of herself.

The Lightning Villain from the USJ Arc is related to Kaminari
If the theory of Kaminari being the traitor is true, then maybe the skull-masked lightning villain from USJ is related to him. Maybe he's his half-brother that his father sired from a previous relationship (or even while he and Kaminari's mother were married). This could also lead to a reveal that Kaminari's father is a high-ranked hero that he once looked up to, but lost respect for him when he found out he cheated on his mother, leading to him becoming a villain. Heck, maybe Stain killed (or tried to kill) his father, and that's why he said Stain was so cool.

The Shimura family was far worse than even their depiction
Shigaraki still hasn't regained every last bit of his memories, and the sequence of events we saw in his flashback left out a critical detail. The final blowout was not a tragically timed emergence of an unstable power, with his father about to relent after his wife and in-laws finally spoke up. His sister's apology was not merely too little too late. Instead, it was the latest go-round of a bitter cycle that had already repeated itself perhaps dozens of times by that point. The father was an unstable mess, taking out his mother issues on his son, and the others, consciously or otherwise, had written Tenko off, survival-wise, but were trying to avoid the mess that would be made when the father finally ended the boy, either directly or by locking him outside on the wrong night. So in fact Kotaro had already realized repeatedly he needed to stop doing this; Nao and her parents had already sort-of put their feet down, but never enough to endanger their cushy living arrangements, many times. Hana had become expert at being bad and getting Tendo blamed, not completely out of maliciousness, but in resignation for his ultimate fate, and that apology was one of a whole bunch. Part of it was honest panic and thinking Kotaro would turn on her, but by then she knew he would probably not hurt Tendo too much. They had seen Kotaro say he was going to change a lot, only to see the next event quickly spark him back to full boil. Their attitude had become 'Love Ya, Kid, but we really can't help you.' and this killed them more surely than Decay could ever hope to. Tendo wasn't just lashing out at the abuse; he was literally ending a bad rerun he had seen too many times.

Seiji's father was the harsh prison guard from the start of the Tartarus arc.
They have similar looking eyes and the guard's incredibly low opinion of anyone with a criminal record is eerily similar to Seiji's own rather disturbing views of people.

Eri didn't kill her father.
What we know about Eri's Quirk conflicts with the fact that she killed her father. Her horn wasn't large and didn't shrink. She did not appear to be unwell after. She should be stronger now, but with her Quirk rampaging, she spent minutes only keeping All For One 100% from hurting Izuku; she couldn't even rewind him a few months to get rid of his scars and reverse his damage. And yet we are expected to believe she could wipe out an adult in his mid20s or older in a matter of seconds? It feels more likely that Overhaul found out about Eri's Quirk, and killed Eri's father, casting the blame on Eri.

    General
Nearly all of the major League of Villains members will die by the end of the series.
Magne and Twice being killed (and getting tragic, significant send-offs too) sets up a pattern for what will happen with the members who remained after the attack on the school trip. Here are theories for how each member is going to go down:
  • All for One will be killed by Shigaraki in a raid on Tartarus to solidify the Passing the Torch theme, possibly because Shigaraki is not entirely content with the fact that AfO can take control of his body. They may still be able to interact afterwards in a similar manner to the One for All vestige world.
  • Kurogiri will begin to show shades of Shirakumo's personality in a way that will make Shigaraki decide it's too risky to leave him alive (as he could end up helping the heroes); he already seemed willing to kill him as far back as the USJ simply for letting Iida escape. He'll be killed in the Tartarus raid.
  • Dr. Ujiko might end up surviving, but an ironic possibility would be him getting killed by a Nomu he can't control. He may also be killed in the Tartarus raid (assuming that's where he ends up after his arrest in the Paranormal Liberation War arc) because Shigaraki decides he has outlived his usefulness, but given how competent and loyal the doctor is, this seems unlikely.
  • Shigaraki's fate will be the most straightforward; he will be killed in a final battle with Midoriya.
  • Assuming Dabi is Toya Todoroki, Endeavor will perform an Heroic Sacrifice in a fight with him which will lead to both of their deaths. Alternatively, Dabi will go overboard with his Quirk while trying to kill Endeavor (who will be reluctant to fight back due to his feelings of guilt), and will succeed but end up burning himself to death.
  • Spinner will perform a last-minute Heel–Face Turn after becoming dissatisfied with the collateral damage caused by the League. He will be killed in the process.
  • Toga will be fatally injured in a fight with Ochako. Ochako will take pity on the dying villain and offer some small gesture to finally return Toga's "love". Alternatively, Toga will have a final moment of sanity accompanied by a Heel Realization, but far too late. However, Toga has a higher chance than the rest of the League to survive due to her age, but it should be noted the series hasn't entirely shied away from Death of a Child and she's almost an adult anyway.
  • Because not much is known about Mr. Compress, it's harder to guess how his death would tie into his character, but it's possible he'll become trapped in one of his own marbles as an ironic punishment.
  • Gigantomachia will be captured at the end of the Paranormal Liberation War and will not die. If he instead ends up getting away unscathed, he will be taken down by class 1-A as a group as a way to make up for their failure to do so initially.
  • Giran will be forgotten about or get arrested as an afterthought, but will survive.

The Arch-Nemesis for the characters
  • Midoriya: Either Venomous Chainsaw or Bakugo if he becomes a villain.
    • Things seem to be leaning towards Shigaraki.
  • Iida: Stain.
    • Spinner, Stain's Fanboy is another strong possibility. During the Summer training camp, he shows particular interest in Iida, calling him the one who "ushered in Stain's demise" and may try to kill him out of revenge and his intense dedication towards Stain.
  • Uraraka: Shigaraki.
    • Himiko may become this for her.
  • Todoroki: Endeavor if he gets outed as a villain.
    • Alternatively: Dabi may be more appropriate. So far, the only thing tying them together is a fire quirk, however in Chapter 82 the way the panels are drawn and the way they look at each other is too notable to be merely for dramatic tension. At least for a Shonen manga with tons of characters.
      • The Paranormal War Arc seems confirm Dabi as one for Shoto, given The Reveal that he's actually Shoto's oldest brother.
  • Tsuyu and Mineta: The Shark Villain that Tsuyu fought during the invasion.
    • Tsuyu might share Himiko with Ochaco. As for Mineta, Twice could work for him since they're both the resident clowns of their respective groups.
  • Bakugo: All For One. If he ever busts out of prison, by a twist of fate, Bakugo will be the one to finish him off for permanently crippling All-Might.

How characters passed the entrance exam
We've seen that Izuku got in on Rescue Points, Uraraka did the same with a side of using her Quirk to float the robots and then crash them down, Bakugo, Aoyama and Kirishima used their Quirks to destroy robots (but the latter was also very active in helping fellow applicants, getting almost as much Rescue Points), and Todoroki and Yaoyoruzu didn't have to take this exam but a specific one for recommended potential students. Word of God is that Mineta used his sticky balls as traps to immobilize the robots and gum up their cannons. Now, for the rest:

  • Iida used his Super-Speed to find robots, and destroyed them with Engine-empowered kicks.
  • Ashido used her acid to disable the robots.
  • Asui probably either used kicks or used her tongue to throw the robots around.
  • Ojiro Bare-Fisted Monk'ed his way through the exam, using his tail to give him an edge.
  • Kaminari got lucky- his electricity Quirk would be super effective against metal robots.
  • Koda probably asked birds to help find robots, then got them to distract and disable the robots. Moving more into headcanon territory, the robots may have only been programmed to attack humans, and Koda's animals thus went right through.
  • Sato munched some sugar then smashed the 'bots. Fairly straightforward.
  • Shoji is shown using his Super-Senses to find robots to fight, and may have replicated multiple hands to help take them down.
  • Jiro did what she was shown doing at the Sports Festival- she plugged her Earphone Jacks into the robots and used sound to disable them.
  • Sero probably made like Mineta and trapped the robots with his tape.
  • Tokoyami had Dark Shadow fight the robots. He's even seen on-panel.
  • Hagakure is one of the more puzzling passes, but she most likely fought them like a normal person, just exploiting her invisibility to get close and get openings. We also don't how many Rescue Points she got, as they may have got an important part in her pass.
    • If the robots had a 'disable' goal switch, she could score by going for that.
  • Monoma copied a fellow examinee's Quirk and used it against the robots.
  • Most of Class 1B probably used their Quirks in the 'straightforward smash' manner.
  • Awase also pulled a Mineta and welded robots to the ground.
  • Shiozaki entangled the robots in her vines.
  • Kodai probably decreased the size of the robots until they were fairly harmless.
  • Komori likely disabled the robots by growing mushrooms in their inner workings.
  • Kuroiro may have first attracted some robot in an area covered by good shadows, so to use his quirk properly. He may have also got some Rescue Points by helping a fellow candidate in the same condition.
  • Nirengeki probably had to wait for other candidates to wreck some robots, so he could take the pieces, throw them and apply his quirk to destroy some targets for himself.
  • Yanagi may have similarly waited to have some scrap and debris at disposal and then use them as weapons with her quirk.
  • Just like Mineta, Sero and Awase, Bondo just glued and immobilized the robots.
    • And that's all the ones I can think of at the moment. If anyone else has something to add, please do so.

Midoriya and Shigaraki are cousins
All Might mentions that Deku's mother looks like Nana but their Quirks are similar too, Nana can levitate herself while Inko can attract objects towards her (and they seem to stay suspended until she grabs them). We know Tomura can decay people and that it spreads from point of contact, what if the Shimura family's Quirks work by affecting molecular structures? Eg. Nana's "Float" is her exerting force upon the surrounding air molecules to push herself up and Tomura's "Decay" is a mutation of it that causes molecules to exert force on each other and break apart the object they are part of.
  • Now Inko's Quirk could work similarly, where Nana "pushes" she "pulls". It could be that Inko is a niece or something of Nana's.
  • There are also visual hints like Tomura and Izuku's shared preference for red shoes. Both their childhood selves look identical with Izuku simply having curlier, different coloured hair (unless its a case of only six faces).

Izuku And Todoroki are brothers
  • Think about it, his dad has fire powers and Endeavor has fire powers. It wouldn't be a stretch to think he wouldn't try and sow his oats to make an heir before finding Todoroki's raw talent.
  • Alternatively, depending on how old Endeavor is, it's possible that Izuku's father is one of Todoroki's older brothers whom Endeavor dismissed as a failure. Making Endeavor Izuku's grandfather and Todoroki Izuku's uncle.
  • Why would Endeavour want to create a child with a woman who possesses telekinesis? Well if his son can hold people down, then his flame powers cannot be dodged. Which means that short of being immune to fire or just plain super durable, he can one-shot just about anyone.
  • Jossed, Izuku's father is a man named Hisashi Midoriya.
  • Maybe not, Hisashi Midoriya may be just his legal name. He could've changed his name for a yet to be revealed reason.
  • Since Endeavour is still legally married to his wife, and Inko is presumably still married to her husband (still using his last name, after all), AND considering Endeavour is the second and later first ranked hero in the entire country, it would require one HELL of a double life on his part.

Momo, Ibara, and Mineta are distant relatives
Momo and Ibara have a similar eye shape and eye color. They also have quirks that could possibly be traced back to a similar ancestor. Momo's creation quirk can create inorganic matter from her lipid cells, which is organic matter. Ibara can technically can create organic matter, that matter being the vines on her head. The vines seem to be able to grow quickly, as seen with Ibara's fight with Kaminari in the sports festival. Of course, using this logic could mean a number of characters could be related to Yaomomo, but one person in particular could easily be related to Ibara as well. That person is Mineta. My reasoning? Mineta also has black eyes, and his sticky balls, things that seem to be inorganic, come from a human body, organic matter. Considering that he and Yaomomo bothhave 6/5 intelligence, maybe a high intellect runs in the family. The fact no one addresses a possible relation is because no one knows. They're all, like, fourth cousins, twice removed. It's so distant, you wouldn't figure it out unless you looked at their family trees and specifically looked for a connection.

Kirishima and Tetsutetsu are Fraternal Twins that were Separated at Birth
It's not just their powers that are similar. They also have sharp teeth and share the same birthday. Their parents married so that they could Quirk Breed, much like Shoto, but ended up with twins. When they were young, their parents were killed by a villain, so they were put up for adoption.

Midnight and Yaoyorozu are related
Midnight could be Yaoyorozu's aunt, since she's too young to be her mother, unless she got pregnant at 16 which is unlikely. They look similar enough to be related as they have similar eyes, spiky black hair as well as, body shapes. In addition, their quirks work in a similar way as well, producing matter from their skin, though Midnight is restricted to sleeping gas while Yaoyorozu can produce any non-living matter.

Bakugo and Mina are (distant) cousins
While Mina and Bakugo's Quirks don't seem all that alike, that's because Bakugo's Quirk is effectively a fusion of his parents Quirks. His mother essentially sweats a type of glycerin and his father sweats nitric acid from his hands and in Bakugo they combine to form an explosive, nitroglycerin like substance. Taken on their own either (or both) could be variations on Mina's acid excreting Quirk.

Itsuka Kendo and Kendo Rappa are related
Not only do they have arm-related Quirks and matching names, but they have strikingly negative views about bringing a weapon like a gun to a fight.

Pony Tsunotori and Cow Lady (from the Two Heroes movie) are related
Two blonde Americans with horns and cowgirl aesthetics? It's harder to believe they're not. The timeline probably doesn't support the latter being the former's mother, but there's definitely got to be some relation.

Momo and Shigaraki are related, but more distantly
Nana Shimura was the sister of one of Momo's grandparents. She may have been estranged from her family, either because they didn't approve of the man she had decided to marry, or because of Nana's own choice as wielder of One For All, to protect them. The same reason likely prompted her to not reveal the true reason of her husband's murder, leading the relatives to suspect it was because of involvement with organized crime and causing further estrangement.

Momo may have never heard of this great-aunt who, from her relatives' point of view, had ended up tangled in something suspicious and ultimately disappeared mysteriously. And if she did, she wouldn't have enough elements to deduce any connection with Shigaraki anyway.

The Todorokis are descendants of Zuko

Is this because of Todoroki Shoto's scar, fire abilites and both daddy and mommy issues? Yes. However, considering how rare elemental quirks are, it's likely Endeavor comes from a long line of powerful firebenders. Also if the Dabi is Todoroki Touya theory is true, his blue flames may be an inherited trait from his greatx-aunt Azula. Rei herself probably comes from a strong family line of waterbenders (maybe even Katara's descendants, if any of her airbender grandchildren or their descendants married back into the water tribe), perhaps even Rei's ancestors were waterbenders that grew to specialize in ice. It's probably this knowledge of powerful lineage that lead to Endeavor and Rei's quirk marriage.

Todoroki and Bakugo's drama CD assailants are Mineta's relatives
In one of the drama CDs, Todoroki and Bakugo are harassed by a villain who uses his Quirk to stick them together, forcing them into various positions of close-contact while taking pictures of them. His brother winds up doing the same thing to them by repeatedly freezing them in place; he even starts to cut their clothes off. It probably doesn't help that the two men are implied to have a sister. Given how the brothers behave, and how the first one specifically has a Quirk that sticks people together, it's possible that they could be related to Mineta. Either one of the brothers is his dad or their sister is his mom, they behave in ways very reminiscent of Mineta. We aren't given a proper designation to their appearances or names, let alone their entire family, which is arguably the worst part. If Mineta turns out to come from a whole family of sexual predators, it would both explain his behavior and — considering they were sent by the League of Villains — offer grounds that Mineta could in fact be the traitor of U.A. High.

Monoma and Toga are either siblings or cousins
Both of them have blonde hair, they have some similarities in personality, and their quirks are similar, even more so now that Toga’s quirk has evolved to copying other people’s quirks too, just like Monoma.
