'Sup! I'm Leo, and I like TV Tropes. Like a lot. I'm a '90s kid (with all that that entails; feel free to make your own assumptions!) and my main preferences are anime and manga, Western animation, video games, and to a lesser extent superhero comics and fantasy novels. If you want to know more about me, check out the tropes that I think are particularly descriptive of me:
- Asian and Nerdy: Yup.
- Camp Straight: I once played a Dame in a Panto performance of Aladdin.
- Cunning Linguist: Heh heh.
- Fiery Lion: My favorite element and my favorite animal.
- Fire Is Red: My favorite element and my favorite color.
- The Gadfly: The basis of my existence.
- Genki Girl: Well, guy, but yeah.
- Hard Rock / Nu Metal: Generally the kind of music I listen to.
- Indonesia: My country of birth.
- Kindhearted Cat Lover: Don't know about kindhearted, but cats are certainly my favorite animals. Particularly the big ones.
- Islam: My faith (or the closest thing to it, anyway).
- Linguistics: What I studied in Real Life, and what I hope to get a PhD on someday. I specialize in cognitive linguistics, if you're curious. I extra-specialize in spatiotemporal conceptual metaphors across languages, if you even know what I'm talking about anymore (if you do, you might be my new best friend).
- Nerd Glasses: Yup again.
- Pen Name: Leo isn't my real name, but hopefully it'll be my pen name someday. It's my star sign, if you're curious.
- Plucky Comic Relief: What I tend to be to my friends.
- Wales: Where I got my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from. Bangor, Gwynedd, to be more precise. Dwi'n siarad Cymraeg, tipyn bach.
Media I absolutely love and love talking to people about (not exhaustive):
Anime and Manga
- Digimon Adventure: My personal favorite anime, for nostalgia reasons. The reboot is shaping up to be equally great, though! Discounting nostalgia, I'd say Digimon Tamers is the best series in the franchise.
- One Piece: My favorite manga. I've never watched the anime except for One Piece Film: Strong World, because it's canon.
- Fate Zero: My other favorite anime, not counting nostalgia.
- Hayate the Combat Butler
- Eyeshield 21
- Fullmetal Alchemist: What I consider to be the most objectively well-written manga (or at least Shōnen manga) I've ever read.
