    Casey Jones

    Celina Liu-Benz

Celina Liu-Benz

A newcomer to Gunpla and transferred to the Prague branch office of her company to attend the Gunpla Academy there.

  • Action Girl: Amateur athlete and martial artist, combat veteran and absolutely loves the thrill of speed and combat Gundam Build Network provides
  • Cuddle Bug: Is fond of physical intimacy, and will give unprompted hugs or other forms of physical contact often.
  • Every Scar Has a Story: Has shared stories on several of her scars.
  • High-Powered Career Woman: Had a meteoric and unexpected rise within her company since initiating her plot for the hostile takeover of GBN, but fears she is in over her head.
  • Hot-Blooded: Is very intense when it comes to her emotions. Combine that with anger management issues, and she quite easily falls into Unstoppable Rage when in combat, to a suicidal degree.
  • I Should Have Been Better:
  • Knight in Sour Armor: Embittered and jaded by her experiences both from her rejection from the party she wished to join and the events pertaining to her military service, she now is in the private sector, but is still working to further her ideals.
  • Let No Crisis Go to Waste: While Daniel's attack and taking down of Gundam Build Network was a crisis for much of the Academy and perceived as a personal failure by Celina, she made use of it to acquire more shares of PPSE and other companies behind GBN
  • Logical Latecomer: Crosses with Naïve Newcomer. Is very suddenly thrown in to the brewing situation of Daniel's plot, without much foreknowledge of the hobby.
  • Mook Mobile: Used straight-builds up until building her first custom. Crosses with Break Outthe Museum Piece due to her preference for comparatively outdated mobile suits.
  • Past Experience Nightmare: Brought up in thread "...Past", where she worries about having been screaming in her sleep.
  • Predatory Business: Is planning a corporate takeover of the companies behind Gundam Build Network and the Plavsky system for companies within the European Union to gain a competitive advantage.
  • Real Robot: Played straight. Plays with most aspects of Gundam Build Network turned to realistic settings, and fights in a way evoking fighter pilots and infantry fire fights.
  • Rich Kid Turned Social Activist: Was politically active in her youth, and still is highly devoted to the European Union.
  • Scar Survey: With Rui Kuruma after their Karaoke Bonding Scene.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Served as FWDL in Afghanistan, and was devastated by the withdrawal of Coalition forces. Feeds in to the I Should Have Been Better and Knight in Sour Armor tendencies.
  • Storyboard Body: Heavily tattooed, some meaningful or of nostalgic value, but some purely for aesthetic purposes.
  • Taking You with Me: Prone to use this as a last resort, due to Death Is Cheap being in effect within Gundam Build Network. Subverted when the realities of Eldora would make this fatal.
  • Trauma Button: The class and Daniel's attack in the thread "Scopes & Shadows" remind her of her military service and perceived failures. Crosses with Berserk Button when NPD civilians are harmed.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: When Rui Kuruma and several other of her friends are harmed while in Eldora (Thread: "Operation Surge Protector"), it turns her dislike of Team Voltage into a personal Vendetta. It's Personal is in effect.

    Eliza Sparrow

Eliza Sparrow

A young builder with aggressive combat strategies and an addictive personality. Her early exploits before joining the Gunpla Academy in Prague mostly circled around locating her sister, Alicia, through GBN. Unsuccessful, she was lifted from a depressive lifestyle in London, England to take part in the Gunpla Academy where she met many friends. Later, she intended to take part in the fight against Sage Rigby but overslept. Eliza Sparrow's combat style mostly focuses on endless forwards momentum, tanking damage until the enemy is within range of her Mobile Suit's fists.

  • Ace Custom: Tends to use grunt machines modified for higher output. The GN-X Custom (A GN-X with an extra missile pod and Evangelion shoulder pylons), GN Tieren (A Ground Type Tieren with metal boxing gloves and GN Tanks for extra mobility), Throne Eins Custom (Equipped with sturmfaust and an M16) and Geara Doga 'Sunday Justice' don't change much from their base suit.
  • Action Girl
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: While using her first suit, the GN Tieren, Eliza simply plowed through all oncoming damage and hoped her mobile suit held true. This was sometimes successful and sometimes not.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: The Sunday Justice with Samuel's Fenrir Denial during 'GBN Has Been Pirated!'
  • Curse Cut Short: In 'Decisive Battle on the High Seas', when Med Bowman throws an entire quarter of battleship at her.
  • Defeat Equals Explosion: After being defeated in 'A Volatile Finish', Eliza's GN Tieren tank leaks and explodes, wiping the land clean in a mile radius.
  • Dying Moment of Awesome: During the 2V2 battle in 'Decisive Battle on the High Seas', Eliza's Throne Eins Custom performs a prone-rocket slide, tackling Med's Loading Astray into the sea. There, the two machines manage to KO one another at the same time.
  • Ignored Enemy: Eliza's threat to detonate the GN tank in 'A Volatile Finish' went completely ignored by Venco and Andy.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: Halfway through pondering the necessity of making a new gunpla, the GN Tieren's GN particle tank ruptures and cuts Eliza's words short.
  • Naïve Newcomer: Has little knowledge about Gundam and Gunpla initially, only viewing it as a method to locate her sister. After this becomes a Aborted Arc, she brushes up on the fandom.
  • Short-Lived Leadership: Lead the Millenium Island Defence. Wasn't asked to do so again.
  • The Rival: Strangely, to Andy. The two have fought side by side on a few occasions. Both also tend to favour powerful machines with bare-knuckle type attacks.
  • Vertical Mecha Fins: The GN-X Custom had these, cobbled together from the heavy LMHG Eva 00 kit.
  • Walking Tank: In 'Millennium Island Defence!', Eliza took on the role of team commander in an Iron-Blooded-Oraphns SAU Mobile Worker working base defence. Things proceeded well until a Halfbeak Ship's turret took out the Worker, leaving Eliza to leapfrog over to Oz's unit.

    Homura Kurogane

  • 11th-Hour Costume Change: Before the final confrontation with Sage during the Data Breach Arc, Homura cuts his hair and starts wearing contacts, losing his long hair and glasses.
  • 100% Heroism Rating: Although being called "Bloodedge" because of Kasumi Kanae, he manages to help out a bunch of students by fixing their gunpla and getting their stolen parts back.
  • Ability Mixing: He manages to combine what he's learned from his mentors into new moves, such as combining Andy's teachings with Lufia's martial arts into new more powerful moves.
  • Achilles' Heel: His reckless nature. He always manages to overdo it which is easily exploitable when he isn't taking things seriously.
  • Action Hero: Being at a school for Gunpla Battle he manages to get into lots of fights.
  • Affectionate Nickname: His friends and sister call him "Hommy", "Homu", and other variations of the name.
  • All-Loving Hero: Is pretty friendly and willing to let things go most of the time, the exception being when his friends and family are targeted instead.
  • All Your Powers Combined: Being trained by some of the Build Fighters has given him new skills to use, and with him still learning and improving from more of them, he's managing to combine all their techniques together to make his own style.
  • The Aloner: At his lowest he distances himself from his friends and other students, choosing to retreat to the Plavsky table in the mountains to train.
  • Alternate Character Reading: His name can be read as "Blazing (ç„”) Black Iron (黒鉄)".
  • Ascended Fanboy: Deconstructed. As a kid, Homura looked up to the Build Fighters, the people who fought against Neo Nemesis to save Gunpla Battle. Now in the Gunpla Academy, Homura has not only been able to meet some of them but has also worked under some and been mentored and trained by others. Even someone like Samuel Morante, who was on the side of Neo Nemesis, has fought with him. Realizing how far some of his idols have fallen, such as Daniel, has made him start to reconsider the pedestal he put them on as a kid, though.

    Ike

Ike

Ike

One of the 88 known El-Divers (Electronic Lifeform Divers), born from excess data within GBN (Gunpla Battle Nexus Online). He is friends with Benji and Shawn who he usually hangs out with.

Ike was one of the mercenaries hired by the Certain Pla C.O. and the one who helped with the 30 MM mecha invasion of GBN.

Seeking justice, he later became part of a ragtag group of Divers, called Outsiders.

  • The Faceless: First time he appeared in front of the Divers during Gunmetal Gauntlet was only as a voice emitted from the GBN crossplay terminal.
  • Heel Realization: When he saw the destruction he took part in and was confronted by Benji, he realized that what he thought would enrich GBN led to its destruction.
  • Lilliputians: When Ike is in his Mobile Doll form, his size is that of a 1:144 Gunpla model.
  • No Full Name Given: Ike, like the rest of his El-Diver siblings doesn't have a last name.
  • Obliviously Evil: In his quest to enrich the GBN he didn't realize that he was taking part in an operation to destroy the world within the game.
  • The Omniscient: He seemingly knows about every prominent Diver within GBN and a lot about the happenings around Gunpla. Sometimes he also possesses pieces of information that in others' opinion he couldn't possibly have obtained.
  • Ridiculously Human Robot: Like all EL-Divers, he's a fully sapient AI. He's sometimes oblivious to other people's feelings and has problems understanding boundaries, that's mostly because he is still learning about the world outside GBN.
  • Tantrum Throwing: When Ike found that Delta was deceiving his family members he trashed his miniature transporter room, throwing around and smashing items and furniture.
  • Technopath: He is well attuned with the world and understands the feelings and can talk with the Gunpla.
  • Younger Than They Look: His appearance is that of a young man in his late teens because he was born as a full-fledged human within GBN. His real age would be around 2-3 years old.

  • A Mech by Any Other Name: Her gunpla, Cryptic Machine Deva, while not called a gundam, is a gundam type machine.
  • Animal Motif: Her GBN avatar is a rendition of The Mothman, resembling an anthropomorphic moth. While looking at a poster of Mothman, she was inspired to build Cryptic Machine Deva, painting it to resemble the cryptid. Her last name is also part of the scientific name for the Deaths Head Moth, Acherontia Atropos
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Routinely charges headfirst into battle. Through fire, bullets, or even as her machine falls apart.
  • Badass Longcoat: Typically wears a dark green military style jacket (in reference to Misa of Gundam Breaker 3)
  • Calling Your Attacks: Taken on after completing the Deva. Developed in hand with the 'super robot' combat techniques used by the suit.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Trianas combat style involves getting up close in her opponent's face, regardless of weaponry.
  • Crazy Enough to Work - In spite of her fear of getting her pla hurt, she tends to put them through some severe punishment in her fighting style. During the showdown against Delta, she requested Rui set her on fire to power her up.
  • Friend to Bugs: Triana is a certified bug lover. Keeping a few butterfly/moth host plants in her dorm windowsill. Her gbn avatar is moth themed, as is the Deva. Several of her fighting moves are named after moth taxonomy.
  • Heroes Fight Barehanded: Pulling from her delinquent past, her fists are her primary weapons in gunpla battle
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Her gunpla, Cryptic Machine Deva, wields three beam blades and an Arondight
  • Hey, Catch!: As a last ditch effort, Triana swung an exploding mobile suit at Brooke. Then, against Delta, launched Homura's suit like a thrown weapon.
  • Hot-Blooded: While rather easy-going most of the time, in battle Triana's temper shows.
  • It's Personal: Ever since losing the Jetana in the showdown against Kanzaki, Triana has held an intense grudge and a growing desire to best him.
  • Machine Empathy: There is a very strong connection between her and her various model kits, particularly the custom ones. Sensing or projecting some consciousness and emotion onto the suits she uses in battle.
  • Mourning an Object: Triana felt a great loss with the 'death' of the Jetana Barrage. Her skills were shaken and confidence in herself damaged. She carries the destroyed pieces in her backpack.
  • Power Fist: Trianas Cryptic Machine Deva houses a variety of fist based weaponry.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Trianas hair is a deep shade of purple and she is a rather formidable battler
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Since having a falling out with her parents over her criminal activities, she's since started to use her delinquency to give an advantage or help to those in need when she can.
  • Spectacular Spinning: During the assault against Delta, Triana unleashed a special move, "Radiant Spin"
  • Sweet Home Alabama: Her home is in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. She speaks with a thick Appalachian twang.
  • Super Robot: Cryptic Machine Deva is meant to evoke the spirit of a super robot, in visuals and ability.
  • One of the Boys: Triana doesn't exactly represent the model of femininity. Her hair is usually put up in a ponytail and her wardrobe consists largely of neutral clothing and outdoors wear.
  • Outdoorsy Gal: Often refers to her passion for the outdoors, the woods back in West Virginia, and various other wilderness activities
  • Where Did We Go Wrong?: Triana and her parents have very opposing views and a strained relationship.

    Uta Harrison
  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: The claws of Uta's Gunpla, the Gem Heart, are sharp enough to cleave all the way through a mobile suit in one swipe.
  • Action Girl: Is a Gunpla battler.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Her main tactic in Gunpla battle.
  • Battle Aura: When she activates the Berserker System, the Gem Heart is surrounded by a dark aura
  • Battle Trophy: Both the left arm and Psycho-Plate array of the Gem Heart were taken from fallen enemies. The arm was taken from Kanzaki, and the Psycho Plates were taken from Shina Yuki.
  • The Berserker: Her fighting style is mainly composed of charging into the thick of battle and tearing through everything in her path, regardless of how much damage she takes. For increased power, she can activate the aptly named Berserker System.
  • Celibate Hero: Is aro-ace.
  • Combat Stilettos: The Gem Heart retains the original feet of the Nobel Gundam, which has these.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Against Shina Yuki, in 'Breaking the Breaker'.
  • Cutting Through Energy: During her fight with Shina Yuki, she used the nanolaminate armor on her claws to cut through a shot from a beam rifle.
  • Determinator: She continues fighting no matter how much damage her Gunpla has taken. Even if she has lost all her limbs, she will ram what's left into the enemy.
  • Finishing Move: Bakunetsu God Finger, though the one time she has used it it was as a distraction rather than to finish off en enemy.
  • Good Colors, Evil Colors: Subverted. Despite the dark aura of the Berserker system, she is still one of the good guys.
  • Master of the Levitating Blades: Uses an array of Psycho-Plates in combat, which can be used to attack or defend.
  • One-Handed Zweihänder: In the finale of the second arc, since her right arm was disintegrated.
  • Wolverine Claws: The Gem Heart has a left arm taken from a Barbatos Lupus Rex, complete with giant claws.

    Vedreg Castillo

Named after the character from The Jenkinsverse, Vedreg is an oddity among the cast for not really caring about Gunpla Battle. Instead, their heart lies in the act of building these tiny machines instead.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Usually called Ved by his friends.
  • Bungling Inventor: He zips from unfinished custom to unfinished custom, and none of them ever completely fit his combat needs. Thrice has he deployed a custom with insufficient thrust when launching from a high place.
  • Can't Hold His Liquor: After 1 and a half drinks, Ved already couldn't walk, and fell asleep twice.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Before "Ved" caught on as the preferred shortening of "Vedreg," it was once "Veg" instead.
  • Gender Bender: Being genderfluid, Ved has two GBN subscriptions because it's easier to have several to switch his presentation rather than pay to swap back and forth on a regular basis.
  • Machine Empathy: He ran barefoot into a swarm of customs to grab what remained of his straight-built Tieren. Topping that, he apologized to it as he cradled its burnt plastic. Later on, he worries about misgendering BIGBACK, his Loto custom.
  • Meaningful Name: His last name, Castillo- is Spanish for "castle." Though he's yet to use a finished custom during the story, many that he's mentioned to be working on are large machines built for defense. His middle name, Liwag, is Filipino for "slow to act."
  • Middle Child Syndrome: Averted. Though Ved is the middle child, the fact that he's his parents' only AMABnote  child means he gets plenty of pressure to follow their whims.
  • Mourning an Object: The aforementioned Tieren. He hugged its remains tight, and used its remains in a later custom.*
  • Prefers Going Barefoot: He was this for a time, before one-too-many close calls with sharp things on the ground convinced him to buy some boots. Both of his GBN avatars still don't wear any footwear, aside from bandages. However, once winter passed, he was back to being barefoot, ditching his flip-flops as soon as possible at the school festival, and wearing sandals at a prom with many well-to-do characters.
  • Real Robot: Ved takes lots of inspiration from harder sci-fi- both mecha and without. Even his choice of base models reflect this- mass-produced, grounded suits like the Loto or GM Striker.
  • Significant White Hair, Dark Skin: Ved's grey hair is actually completely natural. During the inargural session of his queer club, Ved reveals that he got his hair from his father's side of family. That along with his olive skin makes it easy to identify him in the crowds of Prague.
  • Trans Tribulations: He's been misgendered and deadnamed before and during his time at the Academy.
  • Trauma Button: When Rui tries to touch him after the incident at the beach, he flinches and doubles down on his overly ambitious ideas. Ultimately, he leaves the group with tears in his eyes.

Antagonists

    Mortimer Rigby

Mortimer Rigby

One of the earliest overarching villains of the Build Fight System RP, Mortimer Rigby first arrived on the scene during the events of 'The Gamechanger'[1]. He headed the Neo Nemesis organisation who, like their predecessor in Gundam Build Fighters aimed to utilise underhanded tactics to impact Gunpla Battle for their own gain. Under Mortimer's guidance, Neo Nemesis aimed to use a Power Limiter to chokehold Gunpla Battle to the state Mortimer remembered it from his youth, preventing advanced technology from later Gundam series to be used. He was betrayed by Alicia Sparrow and Samuel, then imprisoned[2]. Years later, his son Sage would carry out a more complex plan for even more selfish reasons.

  • Attack Drone: Was fond of these in the defence of Negishi Grandstand[3]. Defences of thirty IBO Mobile Workers (crushed by Andy using a 2x4) and over a hundred MSV suits proved ineffective at halting the Build Fighters, even when overseen by Ace Pilot Artemis.
  • Big Bad: Of the Limiter Arc.
  • Faint in Shock: Collapsed in horror after his Gelgoog Cannon was blasted in half and his entire plan undone.
  • Instant Death Bullet: In the finale of the Limiter arc, Mortimer prepared to take on his opponents with a vintage Gelgoog Cannon as a display of his skill. Unfortunately he was shot in the back by Samuel's Vento and Alicia Sparrow's Legilis Neo.
  • No Sense of Humor: His brief interactions with Alicia revealed him to be rather dry of any kind of humour.
  • Older Is Better: He believed that this was the case. Instead of proving it with battle and passion, Mortimer forced the rest of the world to adapt to his beliefs.
  • Supervillain Lair: Neo Nemesis used Negishi Grandstand, an real-world Abandoned Area horse racing arena, for deployment of the Limiter.
  • Two Decades Behind: Mortimer's skills were based upon Gunpla Battle in its infancy. As tactics changed and systems became more complex, he refused to adapt - simply growing bitter to the changes in the sport he had once loved.
