I would like to request an Edit Lock for the Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog CD pages. The pages are constantly getting spammed by a troper named Eagle 70 who insists on readding completely non-canon information about the games to it over and over again despite my attempts to correct it—specifically, insisting that Sonic's World (thats the official name given by Sega) is called Mobius in the main series games like it was in the old cartoons or comics, all based on a comment in an interview about Sonic the Hedgehog 2 that Yuji Naka made long ago. Sega does not consider Mobius canon to the games or any current Sonic media now, and whatever Yuji Naka may have said is irrelevant now, especially since 'another' Word of God (Takashi Lizuka, one of the original Sonic Team staff who still works with Sega to this day) has deliberately avoided giving a name to the world Sonic lives in. I have also asked Ian Flynn (who works directly with Sega now as the head writer on the IDW Sonic comics, giving him Word of God status) about this on his Twitter, and he verified that Mobius is absolutely not canon to the games. Saying Mobius is still canon to the games because of some cherrypicked comment Naka (who hasn't been involved with the Sonic franchise since 2006) made decades ago (also note that Naka does not speak english and its more than likely what he said was misinterpreted/mistranslated) is like saying Lauren Faust's Word of God is still canon to the MLP show after she left it, even though many things happened since she left that flat out contradict many of her statements. At any rate, even if he 'did' say that and mean that, it does not apply to canon anymore regardless—Sega themselves and at least two of the series biggest contributors have discredited that idea, and absolutely no other staff of the series have verified the "Mobius" concept ever being canon to the games. Also, if one reads any of the japanese (canon) backstory for Sonic, not once is the word Mobius ever spoken—only Earth is mentioned. At any rate, I strongly believe the pages should be locked (at least temporarily) to prevent any further vandalism or a potential Edit War about this trivial matter.

I'm de-wicking Literature.Daughter Of The Lioness as that page has long since been moved to the duet's proper title at Literature.Tricksters Duet. On that front, if someone could change the DotL link on Monster.Literature R To Z, that would be brilliant.

And if Literature.Provosts Dog (which is also a Fan Nickname for the work in question) could be changed to Literature.Beka Cooper, that would also be appreciated.

I’d like to make a small edit to Square Peg, Round Trope. Specifically, to the Overshadowed by Controversy entry.

• Overshadowed by Controversy is not just for any work that has ever had a controversy about it, the controversy has to be better known than anything else about the work. It isn't for works that caused divided opinions in the fandom, those are actually cases of Broken Base or Contested Sequel. Some tropers also like to jump the gun and add examples for works that only recently became the subject of controversy, without waiting to see if the controversy will actually end up overshadowing the work or not. This item also is not about works that have gained any sort of recognition for being rare and hard to find. That's Keep Circulating the Tapes and Dancing Bear. Finally, this isn’t for listing every single bad thing a creator has done. If they are mainly known for being controversial and nothing else, it isn’t this item.

He kills the police chief by compelling him to eat his own gun, kills the hero David's elderly mother just because and makes sure the sheriff's office hears him shooting her over the phone, needlessly kills Forrester's partner Gelson while the guy is mind-controlled by David by blowing Gelson's head up and cackling with glee afterwards, and repeatedly tries to devour the hero's mind not out of any loyalty to his pusher but for pleasure. He's content to see his fellow psychics reduced to a slow death through their terminal dependence on Ephemerol and doesn't even seem bothered that Forrester would throw him aside when he outlives his usefulness, as he just enjoys the power rush of mutilating and murdering people with his mind more.
  • Scanner Cop: Dr. Karl Glock performed lethal experiments on his patients, then formed a cult to continue his activities. When Officer Peter Harrigan arrested him, Glock vowed revenge. Six years later he kills a doctor and escapes from the high-security mental hospital he was sent to. With his Dragon and former cult follower Zena, he brainwashes people throughout the city so that a specific trigger will make them hallucinate that police officers are actually monsters and murderers, the ensuing panic resulting in the deaths of numerous innocent cops. The brainwashed victims themselves usually die in the firefights, kill themselves out of despair, or end up as catatonic wrecks. Glock tries several times to kill Harrigan, who is now Chief. When he captures Harrigan's adopted son Officer Samuel Staziak, he is delighted at the opportunity to have Harrigan be murdered by his own son. When this fails, Glock heads over to the hospital where the previously wounded commander has been taken and tries to eviscerate him.

• Spiders duology:
  • Original film: Agent Gray is the sociopathic head of "Project Mother-In-Law", a military project devoted to using alien DNA to create the title monsters as a biological WMD to release en masse on enemies of the US. Gray will kill anyone who stands up to his authority or in his way without a second thought, even a doctor only trying to save a man's life. When his bioweapon escapes, Gray puts the lives of everyone, including his own men, beneath recovering his beast, resulting in all their gruesome deaths. Impregnated by his own creation, Gray tracks the protagonists back to LA to allow the final and deadliest spider to hatch in the middle of a crowded college campus in a last spiteful attempt to take the ones who ruined his sinister plans with him, resulting in countless deaths in the resulting rampage. A sociopath willing to release a living WMD loose on LA out of spite, Agent Gray proves more of a monster than even his own creations.
  • Spiders II: Breeding Ground: Dr. Grbac is a psychotic scientist who wants fame and fortune for solving the problems of the world. Having his crew kidnap innocent people while murdering other members of their crews, Grbac has them given to Giant Spiders to be impregnated with their spawn which kills them upon emergence. Grbac then feeds the corpses to the spiders as an "offering", with an entire meat locker full of corpses for those he's sacrificed in his quest for his own ego.

At Film A To C, please replace Cut and Run (1985) with Cut and Run

Another update to Square Peg Round Trope:

• Conspicuous CG referred to when "a Computer-Generated image stands out considerably compared to that of the traditional animation style". However, a lot of people seem to misuse it as "bad-looking CG", when in fact that's a type of Special Effects Failure. It's perfectly plausible for Conspicuous CG to be conspicuously better-looking than the rest of the animation. This is why the trope got renamed to 2D Visuals, 3D Effects.

On Characters.RWBY Team RWBY, please can the following entry in the 'In General' folder be deleted:

• Fairytale Motifs:
  • Ruby's hooded red cloak, wolf sleeping mask and her fight with Beowolves in the Red Trailer all show that she's based on Little Red Riding Hood.
  • Weiss Schnee means "White Snow". She's an heiress, white-haired, white-clothed and her signature abilities are based on ice and snow. She's based off Snow White.
  • Blake's is Beauty and the Beast. Her surname Belladonna means "beautiful woman" and the "bella" is a reference to the Disney character of Belle, with whom Blake shares a love of reading. Blake is also a "beast" in her own right, being a cat-Faunus who initially starts following Adam down the wrong path when the White Fang turns from peaceful equal rights protesting to violence and terrorism. Her process of moving away from that path involves her learning to become a noble Huntress and to overcome her moody isolation and mistrust of others and her instinct for running away from her problems.
  • Yang's is Goldilocks — she's inordinately fond of her glorious golden mane of hair and is sometimes called "Blondie" as it's her signature. The bar she has underworld connections to is run by a man called Hei "Junior" Xiong; "Xiong" is Chinese for "bear". The DJ usually performs in a bear-mask. The first Grimm she encounters in her initiation mission are a family of Ursai (bear-like creatures) of which there are three.

Reason for the removal: This work has both a Shout-Out and a Fairytale Motifs sub-page to contain the many examples that exist and avoid swamping the character pages. The Shout-Out page covers both tropes while the Fairytale Motifs sub-page covers just the one. Both sub-pages list the examples, and the Team RWBY page has been out of step from the other character pages for a while, probably due to the lock. So, deleting this from the character page will bring it into line with the other character pages and no information will be lost.

Creator.Ken Penders is locked. Can someone add the page to Locked Pages? I'm pretty sure it's due to him being a controversial person within the Sonic fandom.
