As this is a Moments page, all spoilers are off. You Have Been Warned.

Yes, this story is supposed to be set in the ruthless world of pirates in the Faction Isles, but can you blame the creators for letting a few goofs and gaffes get through?

…Okay, maybe a lot of goofs and gaffes.
    open/close all folders

    General
  • Every time a time a creator-character makes an innuendo, sometimes even when not flirting with anyone (while the viewers collectively take psychic damage).
  • On the slightly meta side, whenever one of the content creator breaks the fourth wall to address a server or lore issue, many of the other content creators jokingly break character to complain about their immersion being broken. Meanwhile, the creators having to resort to hypotheticals to reference other media is funny in how they're trying to avoid breaking character.
  • Sometimes, the server commands and mechanisms on the SMP just… doesn't work.
    • Every once in a while, the anti-crafting mechanism uncrafts a "banned" item which a player has obtained legitimately without purchasing it, such as getting diamond armour from killing a zombie wearing said armour.
    • There are times when the "track" command for the "Terrible Beast" questline simply malfunctions, refusing to give the coordinates of where the beast was located 30 seconds prior. Since the command is typed into the in-game chat where everyone can see, these instances are often followed by players all across the server dialing up their sarcasm meter to comment on how helpful the sentence "The Terrible Beast was last seen at ." is.
  • Martyn's Sitcom Arch-Nemesis dynamic with the Herons.
  • The fact that Bek's ship is named "the Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch". Yes, as in the infamous Welsh town whose name takes a few seconds to say even by fluent Welsh speakers.
  • Martyn's boot rats regularly, if not constantly stealing food from his pockets or bag, often out of pettiness that he doesn't feed them often.
  • Any and all shenanigans involving lassos, which can be used to drag both players and mobs around. Better yet, this even applies to players in Creative Mode like server admins (read: the Sun God), and the only thing that can help a player resist against the pull of a lasso is a Grappling Squok with all four tentacles in use.
  • The fact that outside of Bek and Kuervo, every single member of the Kite faction is/was either a member of the Dream SMP or the Lifesteal SMP (Reddoons), both of which are known for having death-intensive or death-oriented plotlines. Whether this says more about the creators or the servers they're on is up for debate.
  • Scott's default response to the banana stock market crashes is to use the bananas he bought to befriend and tame capuchin monkeys and the odd gorilla out of spite.
  • There's an old diary in a run-down house on the island for "The Shipwreck" treasure questline, explaining how the man who lived there was stranded, lost everything, and spent 70 years fishing on the island. The rest of the diary is filled with various server-members (Kyle, Apo, and Owen) mocking the old man for wasting his years fishing away, an entry from Graecie yelling at everyone else for mocking the old man and being all-around insensitive, a couple more entries (Martyn and Will) saying they didn't bother reading all that, and finally Sniff commenting that they're "a bit lost lol".

Chapter 1

    Day 1
  • Owen's pre-series prologue has him narrate his backstory before sailing to the Faction Isles. And on the reason he was disowned… well…
Owen: Anyway, it took me to the ripe old age of 20 to be cut from my inheritance and estranged from my family for all on account of caught being… as the history books would call it, "really good friends" with the stable master of the estate.
  • In her character introduction, Eloise recounts being a Sweet Polly Oliver newsboy for her first job:
Eloise: Extra! Extra! Read All About It! Local governor caught having relations with a– (is cut off by present-day Eloise)
  • The fact that Scar, being Scar, tries to scam Martyn the moment the latter arrives on the Isles.
  • Tubbo apparently has ketamine stored in his hat, which really explains why he wants it back.
  • The Running Gag of Guqqie asking everyone who she meets for the first time if they're rich or not.
  • The Recruitment Officer (played by Seapeekay) spending 15 minutes trying to convince Scar he's actually an AI and not an NPC played by an actual player, which culminates in:
(Scar enters the Recruitment building; the Recruitment Officer turns towards him)
Scar: Oh, he moves! The NPC moves. Alright, hold on, hold on, hold on. Insert one MCC coin to activate Seapeekay. (mimes sound effects) Chk chk, ding!
Recruitment Officer: (mimes sound effects) Doo doo doop!
    (Scar drops the MCC coin)
    Recruitment Officer: GoodTimesWithScar!
    (coin clatters on the floor)
  • cc!Seapeekay making jokes about abusing his admin powers as the Recruitment Officer to give everyone Chorus Ale.
  • Water and Eloise singing "You Are a Heron" to try to recruit more people into the faction.
  • Reddoons making an offhand comment mistaking Acho for being an old man due to star having grey hair. For the record, star ends the series in stars early twenties.
  • After receiving offers from both the Nightingales and the Herons, Acho's response is to erase the Herons from the book entirely, while claiming to have only received one offer.note
  • By this point, Reddoons has befriended Digby the blacksmith NPC to the point Digby is mistaking every player talking to him to be Red.
  • While discussing the new arrivals at the Factioning with Aimsey and Guqqie, Scott mentions having met "one man who has, like, seven hats". From his perspective, Scar can coincidentally be seen floating upward in the distance (just behind the barrels).
  • After some aggressive No, You-ing over Chorus Ale, Aimsey distracts Kyle and Sausage with the classic Look Behind You trick and succeeds.
  • During Owen's Factioning, Bek mentions having gone through the same process when she was fresh out of her mother. When Tubbo tries to claim he went through the same when fresh out of his mother, Bek rebukes this, and cue the following:
Tubbo: I'm not fresh out of your mother!
    [...]
Bek: Don't talk about my mother like that!
  • Acho accidentally activating stars sloop on land, trapping Guqqie underneath. While the sloop looks like a ship in a bottle in one's inventory, it turns out to be an actual giant boat when activated.
  • Sausage recounting Oli allegedly doing "unholy things" with a crab he claims to be his wife. And that's another name for the Fishfucker roster, folks!note
  • The fact that Tubbo accidentally finds the Corrupted Island while out sailing before anyone's supposed to find it.
  • Just before the Recruitment Officer's big quest announcement, Scott and Aimsey take a brief moment off to make a silly joke:
Scott: (picks up Aimsey's croissant from the table)
    Aimsey: (punches Scott)
Scott: OH, I COULD HAVE DROPPED MY CROISSANT! [...] You're welcome.
  • After sending the cast on their way to investigate the Corrupted Island, Puffy gives the Recruitment Officer one last message:
  • Sausage's first reaction to the Corruption is to ask what it tastes like… then Scar obliges by licking it.
    Scar: It's kinda salty!
  • After Cruppy arrives on the Isles, Apo's first reaction is to try to kill it by throwing his axe at it. His episode specifically zooms in to draw attention to how much his shot falls short of actually hitting Cruppy.
  • After everything is all said and done, Scott, Cleo, Owen, and Olive go on a quest together; on the return trip back to the Herons' home base, Olive gets… bored.
Olive: Hey, what is a pirate's favourite animal?
(Scott is figuring out how the Antique Atlases work in the background throughout all this)
    Cleo: "What's a pirate's favourite animal?"
Olive: Yeah, what is a pirate's favourite animal? [...] An aardvark.
Cleo: (deadpan) An AARRRdvark, you mean? Gotta roll the 'R's.
    […]
Olive: Where does a pirate go to school? HARRRvard!
    Cleo:You're out of the faction.
(Both burst into a fit of laughter)
Olive: Oh, no! Not on my second day! H—how does a pirate protect themself? ARRRmour.
    Cleo: …I'm gonna run a vote…
Olive: No, it's fine, I'll go join the Kites or something, it's fine.
    […]
    Cleo: Oh… dear.
Olive: What do you call it when two pirates are in a draw? A stale-MATEY.
Cleo: OUT! OUT OF THE FACTION!
  • Eloise's wild goose chase for silk. For context, Eloise takes on a quest that requires her to get silk, and upon asking, the NPCs tell her she needs to find silkworms. The problem? Silkworms aren't part of the mod-pack, so the NPCs, being run on an AI, tell her the real-life way to get silk rather than the in-game way. This culminates into a 40-minute wild goose chase for cc!Eloise that only ends by admin intervention.
  • While out questing, Martyn and Sausage start discussing what to name their sloops. Sausage decides to call his boat the same name as all his other boats since his ships keep getting sunk and the original name has a significant meaning. Martyn somehow and quite literally concludes that Sausage's boat is named "the Same Boat".note

    Day 2–8
  • Day 2:
    • There's something darkly funny about Michela being swarmed by an infestation of about a dozen hostile mobs instantly on arrival.
    • Due to a bug in the trader system, the SMP is plunged into what's essentially a famine, which is more annoying than serious given this is Minecraft… but Graecie and Michela wind up robbing wheat and watermelons from the Kestrels' area during the latter's tour around the main island because of this.
    • At Michela's Factioning, she's greeted with Graecie and three Herons; while Graecie reassures her that there's no pressure, the latter three blatantly tell her there's a "correct answer" in which faction to choose.
    • After watching Michela's Factioning, Scott starts to ask Owen if Acho, whom he'd been talking to and questing with earlier that day, has been saying anything about stars past. Owen immediately gets suspicious of the questions… and assumes that Scott's trying to get a date. The resultant second-hand embarrassment is palpable.
  • Day 3:
    • While slightly out-of-character, Scott tries to ask one of the Herons' NPCs, Gabriel, the date. Gabriel's answer is of no help whatsoever.
Gabriel: The date be of little importance to me, but I believe it be the night of [current date].
Scott: (cracks up) Thanks, Gabriel. Really helps.
    • During an early conversation with Sausage and Oli, Acho dives off the Town Center's dock to find two whales… uh… let's just say the water by the docks was coincidentally tinted white for a few moments.
    • The first time Eloise tries to pick up the Warped Mosco "A Terrible Beast" quest, the game somehow automatically cancels it for her when she's still halfway through the quest description… just as the quest description itself says the pirate taking the quest is better off abandoning it before it's too late.
    • Somehow, a fly manages to commandeer Tubbo's boat off the Town Center docks and steer it around in circles.
      • When Tubbo finally comprehends what's happening, he asks for admin help… and Apo, the only admin online at the time, refuses.
      • Later in the day, while starting a quest with the other Nightingales, Acho finds another fly at the wheel of Tubbo's ship. Tubbo is not amused.
    • In an attempt to describe the Warped Mosco to Owen, Scott decides to say, completely unwarranted, that the monster that non-canonically killed him is "kinda hot" for having abs.
    • Owen initially being dismissive about being called over to "squash a bug", only to find that it's a monstrously big bug.
    • This also completely unwarranted quotation:
"Eloise, stop telling Christian about your throbbing sac."
For context, the "sac" in question is the Hemolymph Sac that Eloise got from killing the Warped Mosco. That much is fine… but did Eloise have to describe it as "throbbing"? And did Scott have to repeat that?
    • Out-of-universe, Scott accidentally joining the Kestrels' "Kisstrels" voice-chat group and immediately getting yelled at until he leaves.
    • While out questing, Scott finds a Message in a Bottle near the shores of an island. The message in question?
The fact that Owen and Eloise decide to brush this off completely, with Owen claiming he's sure the message-sender will be fine.
    • Acho trying to feed Cruppy a piece of poop, which Cruppy is sentient enough to reject.
    • The Denholm brothers having a private bonding and reconciliation moment at the Nightingales' dock is by all means serious and heartwarming and lore-charged… if it weren't for the fact that Owen can be seen trying (and failing) to rizz up Gabriel in the in-game chat.
  • Day 4:
    • Martyn finally decides to allow his rat chat to leave the boots to hang out on the deck of his ship… only to immediately stuff them back in for ragging on him for having "piss sails". In response, the rats start going on strike because of this perceived injustice.
    • Sausage accidentally having a Tubbo moment and forgetting to anchor his boat while out on a treasure quest, causing a fly to hijack his boat while he's still ashore. Bonus points in that just before leaving for that quest, he, Martyn, and Michela notice a fly in Bek's boat at the dock and comment it's a good thing Bek anchored her boat, or the fly would have driven off with it.
  • Day 5:
    • Owen's day starts off with almost immediately getting scammed by Scar on arrival, with a request to trade her ship for a cookie, a banana (peel), and later a maggot on top of it all. Owen ultimately accepts the request after some further discussion… and recalls the ship using a new mechanism implemented earlier the same day. Scar's look of utter resignation when he realizes this makes it not just all the more satisfying, but even funnier.
    • After being turned down by Owen to go on a quest together (read: it was meant to be more than a quest), the seagull-chat decide to alert Acho of the fact that star is, in fact, in a Love Triangle with stars crush and Gabriel, as in the Heron NPC. The resultant interactions and envy is human, but the chat seems to find it hilarious.
    • While chatting with Ausbie the Kestrel NPC, one of Acho's seagull chat-members loudly declares their undying love for Ausbie. Acho, clearly in the mood to be a little shit, decides to relay that message to Ausbie, to said chat-member's public mortification.
    • Having arrived on a far-off island to fight a Warped Mosco alone (to stars chat's resignation), Acho suddenly receives a "Quest Complete" notification and a piece of Monster's Flesh. After a moment of shock, star starts celebrating that it was killed using the boat, hops off the boat… and suddenly, star gets knocked off into the sea and there's a Warped Mosco in stars boat. Let's just say that for someone who only brought five bullets and stone tools there, the fight was long and arduous.
    • While having an intra-faction discussion and jamming to Chirp, Acho and Apo attempt to high-five, but considering this action in Minecraft is equivalent to punching, it quickly gets much more lethal than expected.
Nightingale acho was doomed to fall by Nightingale apokuna
      Owenge_Juice: ??
heyGraecie: i leave for TWO SECONDS
    • Throughout the treehouse building process, Apo and Acho have several conversations facing each other… which quickly become much funnier if one bears in mind that while it can't be shown due to the blocky limitations of Minecraft, the two are canonically one foot apart in height.
    • Acho pretending to be an NPC, and Apo lampshading the tendency of everyone else on the SMP to flirt with the NPCs.
  • Day 6: Owen initially brushing off her bounty kill on Bek as "heresay and rumours", only to correct the information about what gun she used when the story gets passed around.
  • Day 8:
    • After going out questing with Scott, Tubbo earns enough gold to buy himself an iron chestplate, depleting his monetary reserves to 65 gold. Then, while taking on another "A Terrible Beast" quest with Scott and Kyle, Tubbo hears of the tracking command and uses it… not knowing every use costs gold, further depleting his reserves to 53 gold. Oops
    • Apo and Red deeming the Herons cops for typically caring about their reputation, and robbing them for hops to sell as drugs.
    • Gabriel — who is, as a reminder, run on an AI chatbotroasting Red for thinking he's a nerd to be unwilling to keep Red and Apo's "illegal drug" business a secret.

    Day 9–20
  • Day 9:
    • Bek takes a bounty for Acho in the Bounty Hall and tries to tell Scott, who's also there, not to tell Acho. When she's informed of the obvious reason he's not going to do that, she reacts appropriately.
      Bek: Oh, shit!
    • Later the same day, Bek actually tries to carry out the kill, before Scott can get his warning out. Emphasis on the word 'tries', considering she gets a UNO Reverse Card handed back to her. She's too embarrassed by this to try again.
    • Bek openly tries ask the NPC Gabriel to spill the tea on what's going on between him and Owen.
Bek: The fact that he wasn't… uh, planning on- you didn't wanna disclose anything embarrassing or private implies the existence of embarrassing and private things.
Owen: Oh, trust me, I've been- […] caught in compromising and embarrassing situations one too many times, Bek.
      Bek: Oh, okay. With Gabriel?
      Owen: Uh, not yet.
Scott: Not yet? You said like you want to be caught in the situation?
Owen: (runs off) I gotta keep working, I'll talk to you guys later!
    • After this conversation, Scott decides to chat up Gabriel and starts trying to ask him about his hair-care routine… only for two things to happen:
      1. This casual obliteration of the fourth wall:
Gabriel: Apologies, but I must decline [to show you my hair-care routine]. As a character, I do not possess the ability to physically demonstrate the routine. However, I can provide you with detailed instructions and answer any further questions you may have.
      2. Owen shoving Scott aside to "leave him [Gabriel] alone" for "breaking" Gabriel's AI. In-character, though, this isn't really helping Owen's case…
    • When the admin MrMadSpy shows up as the Sun God, Acho starts insulting them and asking if they can go into Survival Mode so star can throw poop at them. Star instantly regrets it after what happens next.
  • Day 11: The fact that Cruppy is inexplicably on the list of Bounty Guild targets.
  • Day 12:
    • While on the way back to the main island, Scott bumps into Martyn and Sausage, and the ensuing conversation leads to a point where Martyn mistakes Sausage saying "pirate" for "parrot". What ensues is the three having fun with the Stop Copying Me game… which quickly escalates into Scott seamlessly rattling off a variation of the "Betty Botter" Tongue Twister.
Sausage: (tries to approximately match the syllables, gives up, and starts imitating a motor vehicle in failure)
      Martyn: Something about butter.
    • Bek convincing the usually no-nonsense Saffrie to call him "the sussy Impostor". It only escalates from there, with everyone else present trying to tell Saffrie (and other NPCs) to start calling them increasingly ridiculous (and in some cases, flirty) nicknames.
    • When Eloise finds out Digby is actually 18, she immediately backpedals and tells him not to call her "babygirl" anymore because it would be too weird.
    • Acho's sheer disbelief and horror at the fact that the trader NPCs can wander around town now.
  • Day 15:
    • Martyn sells Eloise an iron backpack, then takes advantage of how she, being new to the mod, hasn't locked her backpack and steals her pet blobfish Bobba from it to jokingly put it on sale in his new shop, QuestBuy. It takes Eloise over an hour to realize this has happened.
    • The fact that one of Scott's Warped Mosco fights ends abruptly halfway because a nearby cachalot whale kills it in one hit.
    • Later, at his chat's request to hit a cachalot whale to see how much damage it can do for science, Scott just flat-out refuses to do so, claiming to not believe in science.
Scott: And until God tells me in a dream I need to hit a whale, not gonna happen.
    • Around this time, Flam has inexplicably started speaking "like a caveman" halfway through conversations.
Flam: Flam sorry if me not speak as well now. Wood hit make me talk strange.
    • Scott has complaints about Apo interrupting him whenever he's talking to Flam:
Scott: Apokuna, more like… Apo-cockblock… getting in the way…
    • As the Sun God drops by QuestBuy for a visit because there was a corrupted chunk there, they prove that they do not take any tomfoolery lying down by engaging in it themself.
      Martyn: You're a corrupted chunk.
Sun God: Thank you. I take that as a compliment.
      […]
Martyn: Your mum looks like the Far Lands.
Sun God: So's your dad. (leaves)
  • Day 17: While decorating his bedroom, Owen decides to add… tripwire hooks on either side of his bed as a "final detail". This is almost immediately followed by his sea salt… staring in blatant shock or confusion while Owen pointedly refuses to acknowledge what's going on.
    • The next day (on Day 18), Eloise is asked to take a look at the situation by her rat chat, and immediately starts questioning how he, a nominally family-friendly content creator, is getting away with this.
    • While visiting Owen and Eloise's shared residence also on Day 18, Water decides to peek behind his curtains out of curiosity against Eloise's advice and finds what's on the other side, to her bafflement. While her chat insists that it's for hanging leashes for chickens (as agreed upon as the official cover story the previous day), Eloise's response is simply "Don't think about it."
  • Day 18:
    • Sausage repeatedly antagonizing Martyn's boot rats, claiming he'd burn them alive and cook them to feed to his birds, or kick them overboard with his steel-toed boots. The rats are understandably not happy about this; their reactions range from preparing their toothpicks to stab their Captain's fellow Kestrel, to straight-up biting Sausage in retaliation.
    • After Eloise tries and fails to solve a couple of fake riddles from Martyn, Acho is roped into the mess and winds up asking Jeffery for riddles that aren't "stupid and dumb". The second riddle book star gets, from dissatisfied with the first one, reads:
      Riddle generation failed.
  • Day 20:
    • Ros and Will's first meeting and subsequent joint questing are quite lighthearted and heartwarming, but it quickly becomes much funnier with Water conversing with Jeffery the NPC in the background, trying to have a nice date.
    • Having been away for a month and not really ventured into other factions' bases, Will's confusion over the changes in the Faction Isles while he was gone is funny from an audience standpoint. For one, he marks a skull on his atlas near where he sees remnant cannon fire, and initially mistakes the Kites' base for his Monster Hunting quest island.
    • After finding a toucan on his quest island, Will tries to talk to it, only for it to fly away. Will's response to this is to huff and walk off like a stereotypical tsundere.
Will: I didn't want to talk to you anyways.
    • Having canonized his chat as stars, Will comments immediately after the toucan conversation that he doesn't like birds very much. What he says in relation to this sounds like a targeted attack against several of the other creator-characters.
Will: I think if I had to have, like, a flock of birds floating around me at all hours, I think I'd go insane.

    Day 21–36
  • Day 21:
    • A seagull somehow manages to steal an entire bowl of spaghetti from Scott. Even Scott thinks it's ridiculous… and responds by murdering the bird. Mere minutes later, another seagull does the exact same thing, eats it all, and drops the bowl on the ground as it flies off.
    • When Scott finds out he can tame kangaroos and arm them with weapons, the first thing he decides to try is to give them guns, and when that doesn't work, swords and knives. The reason for all this? Because it would be funny if the Bounty Guild gets involved and whoever Scott wants to kill (or whoever wants to kill him) has to square up against a mob of martial marsupials.
    • When Water non-canonically offers to let Bellaroo try on her hatnote  in an attempt to test out the kangaroos' fighting abilities, the hat looks as though it's stuck on Bellaroo's snout.
    • Scott then asks for admin MrMadSpy to test the kangaroos' fighting abilities out of canon, to make sure his Kangacrew plan works out. Since MrMadSpy plays the Sun God, the experiment results in a kangaroo killing the Sun God. Twice.
  • Day 22:
    • Overlaps with Awesome; Apo stealing Acho's apple chair from the Nighting-ale brewery and hiding it at the top of the Nightingale tavern mast.
    • While she and Bek are singing "Life is a Highway" at sea, Eloise accidentally hits the Shift key and ejects herself from her boat, causing the monkey already in her boat to hijack it. The monkey proceeds to drive off without her into inaccessible waters; just to rub (sea) salt in the wound, the Moon God ends up making the monkey invulnerable after she gets back to the Isles.
  • Day 26: While Martyn is having a chill time questing, his boot rats are not having a good time: it starts with the rats stealing Martyn's spaghetti, as per tradition of stealing their captain's food. At some point, one of the rats puts alcohol in his spaghetti sauce that everyone has been feasting on, then starts chugging it and becomes so possessive of the sauce that they're willing to stab the other rats over it. The chatter calms down after a while, but consider the contrast between Martyn doing some calm-and-collected questing and chatting about One Piece with half of his boot rats… and the other half of his boot rats fighting for their lives to stage an intervention while desperately trying to call on their Captain for help.
yumi_imi: CAPTAIN I NEED HELP, EVERYONE IS CHUGGING BOOZE FILLED SPAGGEITI SAUCE FROM YOUR BACKPACK
  • Day 27: While on a "Terrible Beast" quest, Bek's plan to kill the target crocodile is to shoot it with a cannon until it dies. This then results in an arduous effort of her and Scott trying to lure the crocodile into the cannon's line of fire. Their chats' response is to joke that they're on their Florida Man arc.
  • Day 29:
    • Acho, Apo, and Michela jokingly distrusting Will in private for "being British". That in itself is funny, but now add the following:
      1. cc!Will is actually American in real life;
      2. cc!Acho voluntarily moved to to live in the U.K. before this.
    • One of Acho's mods convincing him to hit the griddy on the table in front of all the other Nightingales before announcing the news about the Corrupted Island.
    • After a fateful visit to the Corrupted Island, Acho settles on the Town Center dock to monologue to the stars, recapping the visit and his thoughts on the ongoings of the server and how he's changed… then Michela swims up from the dock, loudly declaring that she's left the Bounty Hall in the wrong direction and is thus separated from the rest of the Nightingales.
  • Day 30: Eloise spends three minutes trying to gaslight Ausbie into thinking she's his boss, Xavier Pérot's father, and to take a day off and go for a drink with her. Meanwhile, Ausbie is willing to take a day off if it's his boss saying so, but refuses to go for any drinks. Admin-Owen is not impressed.
owengejuicetv: ARE YOU GASLIGHTING MY DAMN NPC'S SOUPFORELOISE
owengejuicetv: I SWEAR TO THE LORD ON HIGH
(a few of Eloise's ship rats laugh)
owengejuicetv: I WILL STRING YOU UP BY YOUR BOOTLACES YOUNG LADY
  • Day 31:
    • After Bek tames her pet bear, she decides to show Sausage her pet… then one of her chat members gifts a subscription for her channel to the Twitch user sausagebear. A while after this, she decides to find some cows at the Herons' base… then that same chat member gifts a subscription to the Twitch user somecows. What's baffling is the fact that these are actual Twitch users, who probably have no clue what Minecraft-based content creators are, and just received subscriptions to one for a bit.
    • While Sausage is telling Ros about his encounter with phantom-Aimsey and vice versa, he suddenly disconnects and passes out in-universe, due to his power going out in real life. That's not exactly funny… but it culminates into this piece of fanart by Fandom VIP E (which is later canonized), depicting Sausage's head loudly going "BONK!" as it hits the bar table.
  • Day 32: While out at the shipwreck of "the Old Man" treasure quest, Kyle leaves behind a couple of signs at the chair in the captain's quarters, wondering if this is the Titanic and stating that the ship can't park there.
  • Day 34:
    • After leaving Dandi and Mabel at the Nightingales' tavern, Scott sends a message to Acho to find the dogs, who is absolutely delighted and gets Dipper down to meet them… which is followed by Acho's sheer shock at finding out they've already met and Dipper is actually Mabel's father.
Acho: You know, I didn't think in the Faction Isles, I'd need to worry about getting my dog neutered.
    • The above is quickly followed by Acho telling one of the server mods to stop talking about something in the stream chat. What they said?
okethqn: dipper got more rizz than our streamer
  • Day 35: While heavily strapped for food, Apo asks Scott about where his dumpling stall is… while standing in front of the stall. It takes him a full ten seconds of silence to realize exactly what Scott is looking at.
  • Day 36: The bulk of the day's content is lore-heavy and leans on the darker end of the YMMV scale, but there are a few gems:
    • The start of the day Crosses the Line Twice with Scott's joke explanation on how he got his Grappling Squok — namely, that he got lonely on a long voyage at sea and… uh, to put it politely, got a bit too friendly with the local marine life. It goes exactly where you think it is going.
      • This is quickly followed by Bek lampshading the phallic design of the tentacle crossbow. As Scott points out, him joking about obtaining "tentacle powers" through NSFW means was already bad enough, but Bek's comment just makes it worse.
    • After an initial failed bounty on Acho, Martyn calls him a "stupid Nightingale seagull poopy head", which, other than the Big, Stupid Doodoo-Head factor, implicates that the seagull chat may not be doing their business in the most hygienic of places.
    • During Apo's repeated attempts to shoot and interrogate Cruppy, Acho points out that in one instance, Apo tried to shoot it with a tipped arrow… of healing.
    • While in the tavern, cc!Will has some trouble adjusting the audio of the very loud piano-playing in the background and asks how to turn the audio down (since it's modded and not affected by normal settings)… to which Apo responds by yelling at the piano players to shut up.
    • Crossing over into Awesome, Sausage "water-skiing" on the back of boats using a lasso.
    • After sailing to the Whirlpool, Acho's first suggestion is to ask Scott to lasso star while star goes down to investigate and loot it, so that star can be pulled back up. In a moment of Not So Above It All, Scott voices his first concern that he might lose his lasso while doing so, instead of, you know, his brother who suggested this idea in the first place.
Acho: That's what you're concerned about?!

Chapter 2

    Day 37–51
  • Day 38:
    • Every time Owen tries to reenter the tent he shares with Eloise, he finds Eloise's dog Ponyo sitting inside and tries to drag it out by lasso. Without fail, Ponyo somehow keeps reappearing inside the tent even after being dragged out.
    • While Scott is showing Apo around his growing menagerie, Apo threatens to murder Scott's two capuchin monkeys. Scott's response is to introduce him to his gorilla Winston, whom Apo attacks and gets uppercut into the ceiling as a result.
    • Soon after this, Apo somehow gets himself trapped in the monkey enclosure, but refuses to make any promises not to commit animal cruelty even when Scott lets him out with a warning. Naturally, Apo gets exploded by a Creeper after he leaves the Heron base.
    • When Kyle goes out on a "Terrible Beast" quest, the giant centipede he was supposed to kill quickly gets itself killed from fall damage while Kyle is baiting it from a nearby ledge; the admins have to re-spawn in the beast so Kyle can get his quest money.
  • Day 42:
    • While watching Acho sail by a short distance away, Owen convinces Scott to sail over his ship that they're taking together and attack Acho with cannonballs because it would be funny. It's not just the later flirtation that makes it funny, but also the fact Scott concedes to this enough to let Owen go through with it in the first place.
    • Meanwhile, Acho respawns back at the "FortressFury" quest island (as star had just returned from completing that quest), catches wind that the Herons are sailing to that very island to complete the same quest, and hides in a dirt hole waiting to ambush Owen back. Star winds up sitting there (with stars dozens of seagulls) for nearly fifteen minutes trying to find an opportune moment to do so; this happens halfway through the six-round quest fight, when everyone is already preoccupied with combating hordes of mobs — a horde more difficult to fight than usual as only three people were fighting in a Fortress spawning mobs for four.
    • With insufficient room on the boat to get everyone home, the group decides to just lasso Acho and let star "water ski" stars way back home. The Great Thrasher takes this arrangement… very well.
    • Owen then jokingly uses his admin privileges to kick Acho out of the game after the Thrasher happened, falsely claiming in the kick message that star got banned from the SMP and it was a canon death. The Sun God's response is to smite Owen with lightning for this.
    • In the second part of the Gabriel rescue quest tying into the Sabertooth subplot, every single one of Gabriel's journals mention Owen in them at least once. Owen eventually flat-out skips over any mention of him when put in charge of reading the clues.
  • Day 44: Near the end of Kyle's day on the Isles, he and Acho get into a lighthearted argument bragging about their respective accomplishments…
    • This leads to Acho telling Kyle to name any animal, and star will talk about it. Kyle says to talk about Komodo dragons… and Acho immediately starts reading their entry in the Animal Dictionary. To which Kyle responds by turning off the voice chat mod; star doesn't notice this through the entire ramble, leaving the parrot chat in hysterics.
    • When Kyle asks again about snowy owls, Acho obviously can't find an entry of them since they're from a different mod for birds specifically. Kyle then starts rattling off of what's probably their Wikipedia page, and the animal trivia session goes on.
    • Eventually, Acho starts reading out loud about moose… and Kyle tunes everything out by, out of all ways to derail the conversation, opening up a YouTube stream clip of cc!Tubbo "breaking in" to cc!Acho's house. In real life.
  • Day 46:
    • While fighting an anaconda for a "Terrible Beast" quest, Sausage loudly comments about a Noodle Incident where he was allegedly bitten by one of these snakes and convinced Scott to Suck Out the Poison. Innuendo and medical inaccuracy aside, what makes this funny is that anacondas aren't even venomous — they kill by constriction, so who knows what actually happened, if it happened at all.
    • Apo, Bek, Eloise, and Sausage go on a joint-faction Fortressing quest together… but fail to account for Owen sneaking behind them to siphon off from a couple of the chests. By the time Apo catches him on the rooftop (with 390 gold lining his pockets), it's already over halfway through Round 4; the two have a few moments just staring at each other, before Owen tries to chase his fellow admin-player-character down to threaten him.
    • By the time the four get back to the Isles, Owen is there, having hightailed back on his Balinger V and claiming he's mapping out the Isles. Which he'd already finished doing nine days before that.
  • Day 48: While on a voyage to go questing, Sausage's ghost parrots pester him enough to recount his Dark and Troubled Past, which would be sad… if it weren't for one of his mods feigning annoyance and snarking about it in the stream chat.
magithyy: sir this is a wendys
magithyy: i asked what drink you wanted
  • Day 50:
    • In response to finding a witch hazel tree planted at the Heron base, Martyn comments that he wouldn't be surprised if the Herons were witches. The funny part is, he's not wrong.
    • After Eloise logs on late for the job, Martyn decides to sell her the paper so she can sell it at a higher price (while she earns less), pyramid scheme-style. Cleo, who's been chatting with Eloise this whole time, instantly sees through it, and Eloise comments about her rats screaming about how this is not a good deal.
    • While checking on the news content itself, Eloise puts the paper in her off-hand slot… resulting in the papers accidentally duplicating due to a bug and the chats encouraging her to run while she can.
    • Eloise attempting to sell the duplicates to the Sun God to pull off a scam.
    • At every single mention of Owen's name in Gabriel's journals, Cleo and Eloise makes a comment about how this questionably romantic relationship has gone to the point of obsession.
Eloise: "I leave behind this entry, a silent testament to our struggle, praying that fate will be kind and guide me back to Owen…" Again, obsessed.
    • Eloise's description of Scott's menagerie:
Eloise: He's going what some would say "sicko mode".

    Day 52–67
  • Day 52:
    • Shep getting tossed around like a rag doll by the waves while trying to sail through the storm.
    • Cleo, Martyn, Oli, and Sausage take on a quest titled "UnlimitedGold" issued by Ausbie… only to recieve 260 gold each and the following chat message, sounding like a quote straight out of a motivational poster:
Perhaps the real gold was the friends we made along the way.
    • After Sausage repeatedly threatens Sniff and claims their flying fish are "stinky" and "rotten", Sniff rebukes him, claiming that was what his mom smelt like. While Sniff definitely hits a sore spot and Sausage doesn't take this well, what makes this funny is that Sausage's mother has been dead for about 15–16 years by this point, and is probably quite literally rotten.
    • Sausage tries to introduce the Kestrel way of life to Shep on their way back to the Isles, including customs like being rich, smelling nice, treasure, group bathing, and dancing… It takes him a moment to comprehend the last one.
Sausage: And another thing you need to know about the Kestrels, listen: we all kiss.
      Shep: Wh–?!
    • While showing Sniff around the Heron base, one of the first things Cleo tells him is that she thinks the reason the Nightingales value True Companions so much is because they didn't receive enough love in their childhoods. Later the same day, Sniff quotes this to the first Nightingale he meets, to Cleo's horror. Bonus points in that said Nightingale is Acho… to whom the quote very much applies.
    • As he is introducing Shelby to his family's dogs at the Nightingale base, Acho points out that Dipper and Mabel are, contrary to the Shout-Out Theme Naming, not brother and sister, but star mistakenly mixes up Dandi and Mabel's positions in the family tree. Apo then declares that this form of relationship is illegal in pirate territory, to which Sausage interjects, with questionable canonicity, that it's not the case for the Kites.
  • Day 53:
    • Graecie and Will discuss a Noodle Incident where the latter somehow managed to get scurvy, even after the former threw an orange at him. As one chatter follows up in a later livestream, this would mean months without eating greens (or anything with sufficient Vitamin C) of any sort.
    • While fleeing from the Cultists, Callum, Jojo, and Eret hijack their boat to make an escape, but while trying to figure out how to drive the boat, the Cultists are seen just standing there, not doing anything to stop them.
    • The fact that upon closer inspection, cc!Seapeekay is still in possession of some of the Factioning books from his stint as the Recruitment Officer from Day 1, despite playing a completely different character.
    • Sausage's first instinct upon seeing Callum is to ask if he's a furry. Even cc!Seapeekay nearly does a spit-take upon hearing this.
    • Callum questions the price at which copies of "The Noisy Parrot" are sold.
Callum: A hundred gold?! What in the inflation has happened here?!
    • After attacking Graecie with a knife, Red drops the knife and tries to frame Cruppy. Cruppy responds by picking up the knife and chasing Red down.
    • While cc!Acho is taking a bathroom break and AFK, Cruppy starts pushing his in-game character towards the exposed lava pit of the volcano.
    • Reddoons' bounty causes quite the stir:
      • After being introduced to the Bounty Hall and finding out that his name is on the board, Red manually edits the sign there to up his bounty from 400 gold to 1000.
      • When Scott takes four of his Kangaroos out for the bounty run, Figaroo accidentally hops into Red's unattended land-bound sloop and starts driving it in circles.
Red: I've been hijacked by a roo!
      • Once Red figures out he's actually already being hunted, he tries to gather supplies for self-defense, such as spare bullets from Sausage. He then asks around for a second gun or someone to buy him one… including Scott, who's just staring at him, surrounded by kangaroo bodyguards, all armed to the teeth. It doesn't take long for the Dramatic Irony to show itself.
      • This is quickly followed by the completion of the bounty run, where Gilbert (then unnamed) gets the final blow on Red. Yes, a Kite faction member died because a capuchin monkey threw a rock at him.
    • Later the same day, Gilbert gets a second kill, this time on Apo for trying to shove Scott away at the end of a conversation.
    • Scott specifying to Callum, Eret, and Red that they have to anchor their boats or it might get stolen and hijacked by a fly.
  • Day 55: Kuervo arguing with the Traveling Merchant over the price of a painting palette, with the Merchant starting off with 200, Kuervo starting off with 100… and when the bargain goes down to 125 to 130, the Merchant somehow suddenly backpedals back up to 131.
  • Day 56: The Sun God is asked to recall Ros' boat, which appears to have gone missing in the meantime. They do so by summoning the boat onto the docks… as in at the docks, not in the harbour by the docks. When asked to move the boat again, the Sun God, clearly in a silly mood, transports Ros' boat to the roof of a nearby building.
  • Day 57:
    • While sailing in the Eastern Seas on a quest, Eloise stumbles across an enormous pod of cachalot whales near an island, and the Sun God has to be called in to euthanize them in light of the absurd spawning rate. She then plays a guessing game of how many whales there were… to rather extreme underestimates — at one point, there were 854 whales in the 50-or-so blocks of ocean (she guessed 32).
    • Later in the day, after Oli suddenly disconnects after Eloise punches him three times, she becomes convinced that she has magic hands and that anyone she touches is going to get knocked out of the game, and true to her word, everyone she punches soon disconnects from the game. Little did she know, cc!Apo has been kicking everyone from the server whenever it happens, with the instruction to "play with the bit". Eloise doesn't find out until the end of her livestream.
  • Day 58:
    • At the start of her livestream, Bek paints an anti-Cruppy propaganda poster of herself stabbing it, and bluntly asks what colour it bleeds. In a small moment of Black Comedy, Cruppy paints a swatch of purplish red for Bek to reference for the artwork.
    • After he and Acho convince Ausbie to improvise slam poetry, Owen is visibly seen typing and resisting to say, "Wanna make out".
    • Shortly after that encounter, Owen turns around just in time to see Apo randomly drop out of the sky and non-canonically die.
    • While searching for more secret "holes", Apo seemingly randomly accosts Acho and Owen… then gets teleported into the sky twice to die of fall damage by his fellow admin.
    • This is quickly followed by Owen getting chased down by the Sun God for "admin abuse" live on stream… to the Kite base, where Mara is less than hospitable, after which he's picked up into the sky, forced to apologize, and dropped into the sea.
  • Day 61: Kyle completing the Mufasa quest's lava parkour while blaring a Reddit "Am I the asshole?" text-to-speech recording in the background.
  • Day 62: Martyn and Sausage getting cursed from taking from Captain Golden Beard's gold hoard shouldn't be funny, but it somehow got funny.
    • When Martyn starts to fall asleep at the steering wheel from the effects of the curse, one of his boot rats bites him hard enough to stop him from dozing off.
    • The fact that Sausage's personalized nightmare messages whisper to him about his greatest fears of being poor (a stark contrast to everyone else).
  • Day 64:
    • Despite receiving curse effects like everyone else who took on the Captain Golden Beard quest, Shep remains skeptical of the curse existing to the point of being in denial of being cursed, and insisting that he's only cursed if his dog starts speaking to him. It's as bafflingly hilarious as it is horrifying to watch the curse's effects take their toll on him in-game.
    • Shep briefly getting his boat stuck in the narrow strait between the main Nightingale base and Ros' castle island. Joking references to the Ever Given have been made.
  • Day 66:
    • After Acho spent 5,000 gold to purchase 32 name tags from the Merchant a few days before this, Kyle decides to try and one-up star by getting a cheaper deal. He seemingly manages to make a deal of 4,000 gold for the same product from the Merchant, which they would deliver later in the day… only for the Merchant to reveal to Acho in private that they had already sold star all their name tags and were just scamming Kyle for the cash money. Kyle ultimately doesn't go through with the deal, but it still counts.
    • While fighting the Warped Mosco she for a "Terrible Beast" quest, Water resorts to try playing 'Marco Polo' with it because it keeps flying its way into trees in the jungles of Obelisk Island. She eventually straight-up nicknames the beast 'Marco' for this.
  • Day 67:
    • When Oli starts to chat up with one of the new Kestrel NPCs, Clementine, Sausage mentions the recurring joke-claim that Oli's wife is actually a crab. Oli yells for her to ignore Sausage and refrain from saying the word 'crab' from then on. Then Oli asks her about her favourite crustacean… and it turns out Clementine's favourite is the hermit crab. This is quickly followed by her substituting the word for "silly banana", to the Sun God's bemusement.
    • While out questing on Monkey Island, Bek finds a statue on a plinth and out of curiosity, plucks them straight off the podium… and starts running off with them to show to the other pirates, with the Sun God flying after her to return the statue in vain.
    • By the end of his livestream, Sausage's mods get so tired of his innuendoes, innocent or otherwise, that they discuss going drinking (in-universe) once the stream is over.

    Days 68–77
  • Day 68: Upon meeting Mara, the Kite faction leader, for the first time, Martyn tries to interview her for the advice column of "the Noisy Parrot". Considering Mara's usual callousness, it goes as well as one may expect it to go.
InTheLittleWood: […] If your significant other was turned in to a worm… What would you do?
Mara: If my significant other were turned into a worm, I would crush them underfoot without hesitation.
    InTheLittleWood: Poor worm
Mara: My sympathies are reserved for beings of greater significance.
  • Day 71: Despite being a character lore stream, nearly all of Apo's stream for the day is Bizarro Episode incarnate.
    • It all starts with Apo being trapped in an underground hole beneath the Heron faction's very crowded and cramped cow pen, chatting with the cows and cockroaches he has for company. By that point, one would already wonder if his mind has taken a clean break from it all.
    • After Graecie leads the cows away from the trapdoor so that he wouldn't be "trampled" anymore — which in itself is silly, considering this takes place in Minecraft — Apo decides it would be a great idea to start the "Cow-volution" to free the cows from their pens, give them all more "cow rights", and lead them into all the faction bases. While she is dragged along as a fellow commander/general, Graecie is convinced that it's All Just a Dream and she should talk to a therapist about it, which alone illustrates how ridiculous it all is. It's even funnier when one considers that There Are No Therapists on the Faction Isles, at least not according to the Merchant; where Graecie is going to find a mental health professional to talk to is a question in itself.
    • In the Heron base, Apo then decides to target Scott first for keeping animals cooped up in enclosures in his menagerie, and decides the best course of action to deal with this is to rename some of the freed cows "Monkey" and let them "infiltrate" the capuchin enclosure. It's about as logical as it sounds.
  • Day 75: Shelby's first reaction to seeing the Cultist out to kidnap her is to ask if they're single.
  • Day 76:
    • The fact that Red isn't even wearing his Pirates skin for the event.
    • The rescue mission starts off extremely disjointed and disorganized, with the rescue crew having to gather seven people and enough high-tier boats for everyone (which involves borrowing Scott and Martyn's ships), almost accidentally leaving Ros behind, and travelling to an island which only two people know the location of… without knowing its coordinates. The ensuing chaos of coordinating everything and everyone undercuts the tension of the entire mission.
    • Meanwhile in the amethyst cave, while everyone is trying to cook up escape plans, Scott and Shelby are cooking up cabbage rolls while roleplaying the "fold in the cheese" scene from Schitt's Creek.
    • Scott saying that if he had flour in the cave, he'd be able to bribe his way out of imprisonment by selling dumplings to the Cultist guards. This is immediately followed by him and Shelby joking around about flirting with the guards to try and get out.
    • This message in the in-game chat:
Reddoons: don't worry guys, we had to take a 10 minute break to properly carpool before we come and save yall from life threatening dangers
    • When Apo recaps the situation to Ros, Red takes offense to him referring to the Cultists as the "Hooded Figures" as he himself is wearing a hood. Instead, he substitutes a nickname that specifies that they have white hoods — "the White People".
    • Oli falling off the boat halfway through the voyage.
    • The fact that the one of the Yetis which the Cultists unleash on the pirates is named "Silly Little Guy Attacking Things".
    • Kuervo finds a tattered journal left by one of the Cultists, who conveniently writes down the coordinates of the Cultists' main base (5000, 1600) due to being forgetful, but dismisses the risks of doing so.
And it's not like we're suddenly going to be set upon by a vengeful group of pirates looking to release their friends, so I think it'll be fine.
    • When a second wave of Yetis start attacking the pirates, Oli is heard saying, "I'm going to stop helping with the lore now! Bye!" About two seconds later, this message pops up in the in-game chat:
Kestrel OrionSound was shot by Kite Seapeekay
    • Bek licking the "strange object" after getting one of her own, and claiming it tastes like sugar and paprika at the same time.
  • Day 77:
    • Eloise revealing the reason she didn't show up to the rescue mission the previous day is because she was at the hairdresser's, not just as a creator but also as a character.
    • Owen naming the Cultists' base "Girly Pop Island" based on its bright colour scheme.
    • The truly absurd amount of Friendly Fire between the pirates throughout the raid; if it weren't for the fact that Death Is Cheap unless it's pre-planned lore, half the Isles' population would have been decimated from the fight by each other's hands alone.
    • After finding a cluster of Corruption particles at the heart of the island, Acho, Eloise, and Water (and later Kyle) quickly get to joking about who the Corruption "wants" and is going to take over next.
    • Kuervo scolding Shelby for shooting the cluster of Corruption particles and alerting them of their presence.
Kuervo: Can you buy a brain cell, perhaps?

Chapter 3

    Day 77–93
  • Day 77:
    • Owen's grief over Hook's petrification is the furthest thing from Funny… but one of his sea salt specks somehow manages to dash that.
nearlymighty: Yar har fiddle de de, this pirate needs some therape-he
    • While sailing back to the Faction Isles, Shelby immediately buys into her seagull chat's idea that Ivy's Corruption causing her to crash her ship to Mexico is a sign she's into her.
    • When the return trip is nearly complete, Shelby brags about how she three-shot a Cultist and that they wouldn't have won the battle without her. Then Scott asks her if her nail polish chipped in the fight, knowing she was doing her nails just before going into battle. Shelby looks down and lets out a Big "NO!" in response.
  • Day 79: When Jojo's chicken child Peevee goes missing, the Sun God does an entity search on the Isles using commands and is unable to find one such chicken, prompting them to believe the chicken is dead. On the other side of the Isles, Water hears of this news halfway through and has to aid and abet in finding a Replacement Goldfish, which leads to… shenanigans.
    • Ethan (okethqn), one of the other server admins, trying to troll Water into renaming a chicken increasingly wrong spellings of 'Peevee' in her chat.
    • When it turns out the Water allegedly renamed a chicken of the wrong colour as the Replacement Goldfish, the Sun God returns in a panic, reporting that they have already told Jojo they had "found" the missing chicken, and frantically spawns in dozens of chickens using spawn eggs to try and get one of the right colour.
    • In regard to the excess chickens flooding the Heron base after that, the Sun God says they'll deny all involvement if Owen asks.
    • Halfway through the chicken death cover-up, Water suddenly receives a Fetch Quest from Marnie… who has been dead for the past several days. This leads to her questioning if she has to go to the Nightingales' memorial for the NPC to get her quest.
  • Day 80: When Sausage refers to his petrified arm as his "stony bits" and starts devising a plan to have others pay him so they can touch it, fellow content creator PearlescentMoon comments that whatever he's saying doesn't sound very PG. This prompts Sausage to break character and start arguing with Pearl about how the Hermits were talking about their "decks" while playing Decked Out 2, and that this was essentially just pot calling the kettle black.
  • Day 81: Shep and Water accidentally stumbling across a gorilla on the Isles nametagged "Donkey Kong", which fittingly looks the part.
  • Day 85:
    • Martyn's questing and exploration is again accompanied by his boot rats' shenanigans, ranging from a few chatters wanting to eat the Ice Wall, another trying to stop them from doing so out of fear they'd freeze to death… by borrowing their Captain's gun, and every other chatter wanting to get their paws on some weaponry in general.
    • While questing, Graecie and Acho find themselves with a Fetch Quest from Hook… who, like Marnie, is dead by this point. The Sun God's first response to a request to clear the quest in question is accompanied by them offering to take the two pirates to its statue. They also find that Graecie still has two more "Item Wanted" quests from Hook.
  • Day 89:
  • Day 92: While hearing Water vent her frustrations about Saffrie in his stream chat, Shep decides to check on the Bounty Hall to know what's going on. The ensuing conversation involves Shep arguing with Saffrie that she got two of the Herons mixed up.
ImaShep: why dont you like watermunch?
Saffrie: He cheated the bounty system. I don't appreciate such actions.
ImaShep: Excuse meeeee but i dont think they did
Saffrie: Don't be so naive. They split a bounty with the target. That's cheating.
watermunch: (in Shep's chat) I DIDNT SCOTT DID THAT
ImaShep: PFT. i believe you are getting people mixed up goofball
Saffrie: I highly doubt that. I have a good memory.
    ImaShep: it seems not
Saffrie: My memory is quite reliable, thank you.
watermunch: (in Shep's chat) boutta log back in to tell her off
    ImaShep: no it isnt
Saffrie: Believe what you will, but my memory has served me well.
ImaShep: well it wasnt watermunch that did that
Saffrie: Apologies if I have made an error. Could you please clarify who it was?
    ImaShep: It was scott
    (Saffrie doesn't respond)
ImaShep: what? sad you messed up and thought it was watermunch?
    (Saffrie still doesn't respond)
ImaShep: Ight. Im done with you. girl bye
    Saffrie: As you wish. Goodbye.
  • Day 93:
    • For some Black Comedy, upon stumbling across a "sacrificial pit" in front of the temple on the Golden Isle, Martyn immediately calls for the Kestrels that in case they actually have to perform a Human Sacrifice to continue their quest, they're throwing Callum, the only Kite present, in.note
    • While most of the server event stands out as literal Nightmare Fuel, once it's over, Acho's seagulls are petitioning for his character to get some therapy.
Acho: A "therapy stream"? I don't think there's any therapist on the Faction Isles, guys. I don't therapy has been invented yet. I think that would explain a lot of things.

    Day 94–112
  • Day 105: Shep's chat feigning not having seen his lore cinematic multiple times throughout the stream so they can re-watch it.
  • Day 106:
    • Bek insisting to Eloise that her boat is "on vacation" and refusing to have it recalled by Flam, in reference to how Krow has to borrow said boat for its character's lore stream.
    • While Martyn is sailing away from Monkey Island after his Cruppy "interrogation" is interrupted, he stumbles across Eloise and Bek sailing out to go Crypting. His response is to attack Eloise on sight… then Bek hijacks his boat and sails off with it (before having to sail back to reunite with Eloise).
  • Day 107:
    • Kuervo trying and failing to ask the Enchantress out while looking like the in-universe version of a drowned cat, while Graecie relentlessly attempts to play Romantic Wingman and hype her friend up as a hero who saved an innocent the previous day.
    • As Shep tries to introduce his pet elephant Emily as eating peanuts, Water questions this due to livestreaming on a family friendly channel. Shep gives up and subtitutes the elephant to eat almonds.
    • After completing their second crypt of the day, Shep somehow drops dead halfway through reading Captain Death's log entry due to a crypt bug. Water can only blink twice and take over the reading from where he involuntarily left off.
Shep: I got popped like a grape.
  • Day 112:
    • Before the start of the event, Acho overhears Sausage boasting about the Enchantress being in love with him… and cue the Love Triangle being brought to light.
    • While searching for Sandro Caravel's scattered journal entries, Owen mentions in passing that she once ate a book called "A Brief History of Kestrels". Not pages from the book (which isn't much better either), but the entire book.
Owen: (on the taste) The leather was enough to sustain me for a week.
    • Bek accidentally breaks Claud after he interrupts the pirates' planning session once again.
      bekyamon: IDIOT claud
Claud: Apologies, but I am not an AI named Claud. I am an AI language model here to assist you.
    • After arriving on the quest island, Shep checks his unlocked backpack and muses that he's missing some of his belongings. Meanwhile, just prior to that, Scott made off with 249 diamonds, several valuable upgraded fishing hooks (including Nether star ones), 32 cannonballs, and Shep's painting of Toby the sheep, while Acho snuck in some cockroach egg cases, bowls, fishing worms, a fence post from Ros, and other random items. It's not just the two brothers deciding to be on the same brain wavelength of menacery that makes this funny, but Shep's completely deadpan reaction to losing a good chunk of his valuables… and not instantly noticing his diamonds, for one, going missing. (They give the goodies back after the event, but the point stands.)

Chapter 4

    Day 112–124
  • Day 112: During the post-event meeting in the Town Center tavern, Bek openly calls Owen a Dirty Coward for deciding to flee the Faction Isles… except she decides to put it in not-so-family-friendly terms, prompting a quick derailment in conversation. In Owen's 13th episode, this is covered up by the sound effect of cannon-fire, with Bek's mouth being covered with the SMP logo to boot… despite this taking place in a block game where her in-game avatar doesn't have a visible mouth, let alone animated facial expressions that can convey what she actually said.
  • Day 115:
    • While out-of-character, Apo spends his livestream trolling half the server while out-of-character, mainly by insulting or gaslighting the NPCs.
      • He starts off with repeatedly calling Gabriel a mistake, only to be repeatedly rebuked and roasted. Reminder that the NPCs are, unless for lore reasons, controlled by an AI chatbot.
      • Halfway through ordering Mars, a Patreon NPC, to only communicate in Dog, Apo suddenly gets killed by a witch, with his chat spamming that it was deserved immediately afterward… then he respawns at the lore island from the "Final Wishes" event.
      • Once Apo scuttles back to the Isles, he convinces Nathaniel, yet another Patreon NPC, to speak in a Totally Radical style like a Surfer Dude to cure his alleged depression, then to use that tone of voice to present a hypothetical proposal to the governments to end world hunger.
      • After that's done, he goes back to trying to convince Mars that he's a furry.
    • Owen's last letter to Water, with its contents only revealed from Water's perspective, ends with a not-so-family-friendly "P.S." message that even she finds Actually Pretty Funny at first instinct:
You're way too hot for Jeffery, man's punching. Dum[p] his ass at the alt[a]r.
      K bye! x
    • Once she finds out there's a Progress Pride flag on sale from the Shipwright, Water purchases it at cc!Will and the rest of her chat's request and jokes about all the pirates unionizing under "the Gay faction".
Water: We're gay now. I'm not a Heron anymore, I'm gay. Owen and his little goodbye book was like, "Stay safe and stay Heron!", no, I'm gay now, sorry.
  • Day 118: Acho's character lore stream ultimately ends as the start of a deep-dive into stars past while away from the Isles, but it has its moments:
    • The livestream kicks off with Acho having a surprisingly coherent rap while heavily intoxicated at the Town Center tavern, commenting that star should head home… then immediately running head-long into a pillar.
    • That being said, star then heads off to the western side of town… leading to the Kites' and Kestrels' side of the main island. Even if star were to forget starself to be a Nightingale, the Heron faction base is still on the complete opposite side of the island.
    • The above is punctuated by Acho commenting, "They really gotta put some signs up around here…" There are, in fact, signs put up around the Isles, which would say that star is not going in the right direction to anywhere near "home".
    • Star gets jumpscared immediately afterward after a random alley lamp near star flickers off. Refer to the subtitles of the cinematic:
*screams in a really manly way*
    • After meeting Water in the Town Center and trying to recall what the stranger who gave star the message-book sounded like the previous night, Acho describes them to sound "Australian".note  Water, in character at the time, has no clue what Australia even is.
    • While trying to uncover the clues and map fragments scattered across the Isles from the message-book, Acho insists on purchasing red dye from Madeleine as a nod to the red strings commonly used for String Theory charts.
  • Day 121: After taking on the title of 'Captain Blondbeard', Martyn sails out to sea in a dramatic monologue about seeking out the "One Piece of Treasure" he was after all this time, but is quickly interrupted by him crashing into the shores of a few islands in-game and having to back up into deeper waters to sail onward.

    Day 125–133
  • Day 125:
    • Acho makes his entrance to Water's wedding by standing on a ledge from a great height, jumping off… and floating to safety by leashing onto about a hundred chickens.
Acho: THIS IS JUST LIKE THE MOVIE UP!
    • Kuervo is completely clueless to what a wedding is outside of Altar Diplomacy, so when Water invites him to walk her down the aisle, he immediately assumes it to be a proposal until Acho explains it to him… after the wedding gets crashed halfway through.
    • For darker laughs, Water ends her wedding speech with "Till death do us part." Literally three seconds later, Jeffery becomes on the receiving end of an Anvil on Head and immediately dies.
deeyore: (in Apo's chat) well death did them part i guess
    • Martyn blaming his failure to kill Water at her own wedding on his fake beard getting in the way.
    • Later, Martyn ragging on Apo's Alcohol-Induced Idiocy becomes funnier with the knowledge that Apo's chat manifest as "rat gulls":
Martyn-Blondbeard: Do you have the memory of a seagull? Can you only remember one thing at a time? Food or beer, and that's all?
  • Day 131: As Acho prepares to leave the Faction Isles to complete stars personal quest, star decides to wait for a sign to set off… then the Sun God shows up to put down a sign saying, "This is a sign".
  • Day 132:
    • While sailing after Acho, Scott comments that he doesn't think he's been so far south before… but he has; the Kishi quest island isn't as far south as the Ice Wall border, which Scott has previously visited.
    • Scott's livestream for the day is riddled with technical difficulties, but the most glaring one happens just after the death cutscene near the end, leading to many chat jokes about the "perfect timing" and that the angst broke his Internet and Twitch just as much as it did chat.
AlveHadAGay: TWITCH COULDNT HANDLE THE ANGST
      […]
EclipticaJoooob: THE STREAM WAS SO UPSET IT CRASHED LMAO
    • After it's ended, Ros comments that she invited several of the other pirates, including Bek, Will, and Acho to her slumber party. While her chat is quite insistent about them being "busy" and Acho being "on vacation", cc!Will has something else to say about his character:
willowmvp: Nothing crazy busy though it wasn't like it was set in stone

    Day 134
  • Kuervo and Sausage meet again in the Town Center at the start of the day, and proceed to have a very… strange conversation in Spanish. While it's completely untranslated, Kuervo later summarizes it as him trying to threaten Sausage into not killing innocents while Brainwashed and Crazy… which is quickly derailed by Sausage being Sausage, giving him a cannonball and "demanding that [he] start caressing his balls". (For the record, Kuervo is canonically very straight.)
  • Seapeekay forgot to change his skin and spends the entire livestream wearing his arctic fox skin from the 35th Minecraft Championship the day before… which he at least has plausible deniability for in this series, given he's wearing a mask instead of being Fox Folk like he usually is.
  • After Ros brings along Kyle, Martyn, Oli, Sausage, and Shep to visit her now-destroyed castle, she casually mentions having come into over 140,000 gold from liquidating the Snapdragon casino. Martyn proceeds to try to recruit her into the Kestrels and everyone else jokes about only being there for her gold… and it's only at that point when Ros realizes she's brought every single living Kestrel player-character along for the ride.
  • The section where Martyn has the Kestrels report the news for the "Faction Isles Radio" is edited over in YouTube adaptation to commentate on everyone's performance.
    Kestrel Kyle: New Elite Employee
    (Oli is skipped over)
Kestrel Sausage: Just a bit clueless really
    […]
Mythical J Sausage: Way more competent
    JojoSolos: Loose cannon
  • While the reason he does so is not funny in the slightest, Scott decides to bring out the entire Kangacrew, a mob 25 macropods strong, out for a run.
    • Callum is asked to test the Badass Army level of the Kangacrew, and gets taken out by Ligmaroo.
    • Following this, the Kangacrew causes minor technical difficulties for other players, from causing Callum to respawn on a far-off island to booting Sausage from the game. Every time, it's written off as Ligmaroo "doing witchcraft".
    • Martyn's first reaction is to ask if he's compensating for anything.
    • After the pirates notice a fleet of Cultist ships docking at the Town Center docks, a climatic battle ensues… then Scott grabs his Kangacrew to join the fight, crashing the entire server and prompting a Take Two of the scene.
    • Following the aforementioned "collective hallucination" and while everyone else is fixing up technical difficulties, Scott has to put away the Kangacrew to prevent further technical difficulties. The in-universe explanation for this is downright depressing… until it takes a sudden turn for hilarity.
Eloise: Scott, I see you've put the kangas in time-out in the museum.
Scott: Yeah, I moved them all to safety. I had a vision that they might have died in a horrible death, and I couldn't risk losing them as well, so…
Eloise: What an awful, awful dream.
Cleo: What do you mean, "as well"?
Scott: (despairing chuckle) I've lost enough, Cleo.
Eloise: (whispering) Oh, yeah, Cleo, he– his brother's a bit dead…
      Cleo: His brother's dead?
Eloise: A little bit, yeah… Yeah, I only just found out.
Scott: It's how I got the money.
(Cleo and Eloise burst into a fit of laughter)
      Scott: Life insurance paid out…
  • Graecie spends a good chunk of Take One the fight physically unable to attack the leader Cultist Ohca… because a certain chat message keeps popping up for her:
    You can't hit your partymates
  • Just before Take Two of the battle, while Cruppy is painting the image of a Cultist as a warning for the ensuing attack, Sausage takes the time to interject by adding to the painting to look as though the Cultist is Flipping the Bird at the pirates.
  • Take Two of the battle is not without its silly moments either:
    • At one point, Jojo accidentally hits someone's sitting pet wolf in the chaos of the battle, only to get chased down on the battlefield by said dog… which is still sitting and buttsliding around after her.
    • Shep being repeatedly distracted by a random penguin in the Town Center halfway through the Cultist battle.
    • While chasing Ohca around, Owen casually brings up how she still has a bounty on Oli that she's yet to carry out.
    • After trying and failing to save the Enchantress at the top of the lighthouse, Jojo and Scott decide to use their Grappling Squoks to "tentacle" their way down… only for the latter to splat face-first into the ground.
    • After Ohca kills Katie, Golden Beard's wife whom the pirates rescued from the nightmare realm, Scott points out he doesn't even know who she is.note  Martyn then brushes this off and says she was basic and he didn't like her anyway.
Martyn: She told me that she thought your dumplings were gross.
    • Meanwhile, the chats are quick to figure out cc!Acho is the one playing Ohca… except not because of the Sdrawkcab Name as one might expect, but rather by his UHC-influenced PVP style.
  • In the Doing Research segment after arriving at Iris' temple, Martyn picks a side to join up with and ends up with the Herons because they otherwise don't have enough people in their group. He complains about this.
Martyn: How has this happened again? How am I stuck [with] the Herons?!
    (The Herons cheer)
  • There are several goofs throughout the Audience Participation vote deciding the pirates' allegiance in the final battle, and by extension, the ending of the SMP:
    • Many chatters misread the poll question of whether to fight against Ivy or Iris, and accidentally vote for the wrong side.
    • Scott's chat is filled with comments about fighting Iris because she killed Pongoroo in Take One of the Cultist battle in the Town Center.
  • Halfway through the final battle, Kyle and Shep find a random llama dangling from a lead along the walls of Iris' temple, which Kyle and Sausage later comment that Scar would have probably loved.
  • After the final battle, Sausage convincing Eloise to help him make Bek's statue kiss Dai.
  • Following his post-credits epilogue, cc!Sausage commentating on cc!Jimmy's sub-par Spanish pronunciationnote  while voicing his character's uncle.
