Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

Please add this trope to Lolita (tropes found in the book):

  • Paper Destruction of Anger: Humbert Humbert tears his wife Charlotte's letter to tiny pieces. She wrote it shortly after she had found out about his obsession with her teenage daughter Lolita. Humbert is in a state of shock and strange relief because Charlotte just died in a freak car accident. Later he tries to put the pieces together because he wants to know what was in the letter.

Can this also please replace the Dark Souls tree on MagnificentBastard.Video Games:

  • Dark Souls:
    • Dark Souls:
      • Kingseeker Frampt is Lord Gwyn's closest confidante and a key piece in his master's plan to save the Age of Fire, despite seeming like no more than a theatrical, sleepy serpent. Gwyn's plan entails a false prophecy of an Undead who would succeed him, drawing the worthy and gullible into ringing the Bells of Awakening. Once rung by the Chosen Undead, Frampt rises from his slumber and appears in Firelink Shrine to guide them, giving them concise instructions on how to proceed with their quest. As Frampt boasts of the Chosen Undead's destiny to take Gwyn's place, rarely dropping his hammy demeanor, he intentionally leaves out a crucial detail - to link the First Flame and save the Age of Fire, one must burn in fire for all eternity, something the Chosen Undead can learn the hard way.
      • Dark Sun Gwyndolin is Gwyn's youngest son, the sole remaining god of Anor Londo, and the other major player in his father's plan. Dutiful to his family despite Gwyn's blatant lack of care for him, Gwyndolin hides the sorry state of Anor Londo with an illusion of radiance and life, while having his Darkmoon Blades assassinate any who learn of its true nature. When the Chosen Undead surpasses the trials of Anor Londo, Gwyndolin uses an image of his sister Gwynevere to grant them the Lordvessel and give them further instructions on how to enter the Kiln of the First Flame. While the nature of the game means that Gwyndolin can be undone, he ultimately succeeds in tricking the Chosen Undead into linking the fire and survives the events of the story, choosing to continue his personal mission to protect Anor Londo and his family's legacy.
    • Dark Souls III: The soft-spoken and enigmatic Yuria of Londor is the potential architect of the Age of Dark, pledging her loyalty to the Ashen One once they obtain 5 Dark Sigils from the pilgrim Yoel. Set on making you into a Dark Lord, Yuria uses a proxy to manipulate Anri of Astora into joining you in wedlock, granting the Ashen One the remaining Dark Sigils they need to become the Lord of Hollows. Instructing them to usurp the First Flame, one of the potential endings of the game sees the Ashen One bringing forth a new world of darkness, one where mankind can potentially thrive, just as Yuria desires.

At Complete Monster, please remove the Orsi Brothers from the "Never-Again List".

At Ultra Series, please replace the Other Media section with this:

Anime

  • The・Ultraman: Jackal vs. Ultraman (Link): Demon King Jackal is a demonic space overlord imprisoned by Ultraman King long ago for his crimes. Escaping from Hell's Black Hole, he begins a brutal campaign of revenge against the Ultras, starting by murdering Ultraman in the guise of Zetton and hurling his corpse into the sun. He would then hunt the Ultra Brothers down one by one, brutally murdering them, including killing Astra in the guise of Zoffy in front of his brother Leo. In an attempt to hunt down the surviving brothers in hiding, he would conquer and enslave Earth, having his minions round up innocent civilians and kill them to try and lure his enemies out. When Andro Melos gains the upper hand in their duel, Jackal feigns surrender and begs for his life, only to attempt to kill Melos when he spares his life. Confronted by Zoffy in the guise of Melos, he would fire his Jackal Destruction Ray directly into a crowd of his own troops in an attempt to kill his foe. Despite having minimal screentime, Jackal spends every moment allotted being as vile and monstrous as possible.
  • Netflix anime
    • Alien Adacic is an alien Serial Killer Shinjiro is sent to terminate. Adacic is introduced in a room full of corpses he's drained of blood while gleefully finishing off the latest of many such massacres he's committed. Leading the fight into the city, Adacic intentionally stops the chase and fights Shinjiro in the middle of a crowded street. When the teenager Rena tries to encourage Shinjiro, Adacic tries to murder her out of boredom and soon begins blowing up the area and endangering countless civilians in the process. When his arm is sliced off, Adacic goes berserk and decides he'll eat every civilian in the area out of spite. Despite being the first Monster of the Week, Adacic proves one of the worst and most sadistic in the entire series.
    • Ace Killer is the leader of Ace Killer Squad. A sociopathic mercenary, he's the true perpetrator of the airline explosion that kick-started the series, killing most of those on board, children included, an act which for him was simply an average day on the job. When Moroboshi and Shinjiro track him down, Ace Killer's trap kills Moroboshi's entire squad, something which the mercenary couldn't care less about. Despite not being part of his current job, Ace Killer decides to kill the two anyway for his own amusement, and tortures both Shinjiro and Seiji, assuring the latter his childhood friend Yuko is next on his list. After being temporarily killed by Seiji, Ace Killer decides to brutalize the already mortally wounded boy and mount his skull in his trophy room. Even in death, Ace Killer tries to destroy the entire area with a massive bomb in one final act of spite. Despite being a hired soldier, Ace Killer enjoys every second of it and cares for nothing else, not even his own squad.

Other Media

  • Fighting Evolution Rebirth: Alien Mephilas ("Malicious Alien") is an evil alien invader and the true mastermind of the story. Forcing the redeemed Chaos Header back into its corrupted form, he makes it corrupt monsters and unleashes multiple monster attacks to gather data. He then unleashes the Chaosroids on the Land of Light, nearly sending its orbit spiraling out of control by having S steal the Ultra Key, nearly lets it freeze in the cold by having U destroy the Plasma Spark, and has T steal the Ultra Bell and destroy a portion of the city. Possessing Chaos Darkness, Mephilas brutalizes Ultraman Agul, Gaia, and Tiga before forcing the entity to try and kill its now ally Cosmos. When Cosmos tries to free Chaos Header, Mephilas fully merges with it and dissolves a portion of the city. Upon defeat, Mephilas sees the whole situation as little more than a sick game.

Please add Ultra Series to Anime & Manga for works with their own pages and remove the Ultraman example from Anime & Manga: O to Z.

The Mad World tree at Video Games G To P is screwy. It should be this:

  • MadWorld may be Bloody Hilarious and line-crossing, but these two manage to stand out as being completely greedy monsters:
    • Noa is the CEO of DeathWatch, and Leo Fallmont's second-in-command. Cutting off all access to roads and technology in Jefferson Island, Noa unleashes a deadly virus that will kill everyone within 24 hours, promising a vaccine to those who kill— even suggesting starting with family members and neighbors—with the last one standing winning $100 million. Turning the DeathWatch games—having previously been created for nations to engage in less bloody wars—into a violent reality show where the wealthy bid on contestants, Noa reaps most of the profits for himself, doing whatever he can to keep sponsors funding the games.
    • Leonardo "Leo" Fallmont, first seen as a random survivor, is the true villain of the game, the creator of the deadly virus, and the aforementioned Noa's boss. Following his father's pharmaceutical company going bankrupt after the last presidential election, he and his father decide to create a virus in order to sell a vaccine. Partnering with Noa to spread the virus across Jefferson Island, before ultimately killing Noa to cover his tracks, he plans on using DeathWatch as a way to spread publicity about the vaccine, blackmailing various countries with his virus unless they buy it, while also participating in the games for the thrill of killing.

[up][up][up] The other changes are fine, but as for spoilers...we're more lenient than on YMMV pages, but spoilers aren't necessarily completely off.

At Video Games: Q to Z, please change the appropriate thing to this:

At Disney, please change the Pixar section to this:

Pixar, by release date

  • The Incredibles: Syndrome was once Buddy Pine, an aspiring hero seeking fame and fortune, who became outraged at all Supers when his "idol", Mr. Incredible, ceased his attempts at being a hero for his own safety. Decades later, Syndrome enacts his revenge, as he creates the "Omnidroid," a Super killing machine that he uses to massacre Supers he lures in to duel it under the illusion it is simply a rogue robot. Upon capturing and torturing Mr. Incredible—notably forcing him to listen as his wife and children are seemingly killed by Syndrome's forces—Syndrome unveils his master plan to launch the Omnidroid into a highly-populated city, have it target innocents at random, then swoop in and "save the day" to become the greatest hero in the world. When the Incredibles foil this plan, Syndrome makes one last attempt to spitefully ruin the family by kidnapping their infant child, Jack-Jack, and raising him to be a supervillain.
  • Toy Story 3: Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear is the ruler of Sunnyside Daycare, and oppresses the other toys through brute force and violence. Originally the favorite toy of a young girl named Daisy, Lotso was mistakenly lost and replaced, leading him to believe that all toys were worthless and unloved. Taking over Sunnyside, Lotso subjects the toys in the Caterpillar Room to horrid mistreatment from the younger children. When Andy's toys request that they be relocated to the Butterfly Room, Lotso resets Buzz Lightyear and has him beat down his friends, showing a cold satisfaction while doing so. When Woody frees the toys and they attempt to escape, Lotso has Chatter Telephone beaten in order to get him to explain Woody's escape plan before ordering the toys disposed of in the dumpster. When his minions turn on him and he is taken to the dump, along with Andy's toys, he abandons them to burn to death in the incinerator, ignoring that they had previously saved his life. While he has a tragic backstory, Woody himself calls him out on how weak it is, stating that Lotso had abandoned her, not the other way around. Sociopathic and misanthropic, Lotso may have appeared innocent, but was depraved at his core.
  • Cars 2: Sir Miles Axlerod and his Dragon Professor "Z" Zündapp are a pair of "lemon" cars who want power and to hurt all other cars simply because they were laughed at for being older models. After they buy up one of the world's largest oil reserves, Professor Z develops a weaponized camera that causes the alternative fuel Allinol to explode and decompose, and Axlerod orchestrates him to use it on the racers of the Grand World Prix, severely damaging the cars, to paint alternative fuels as dangerous and drive the world back to oil, which will enrich the villainous duo. Z personally murders two spies, crushing one and torturing then exploding the other, on Axlerod's orders before the two try to murder the last user of Allinol, Lightning McQueen, planning to make his best friend Tow Mater watch before killing him as well. When their weaponized camera fails, the two plant a bomb on Mater and try to detonate it in a pit stop, uncaring that it is filled with dozens of other cars, and even when their plan fails, Z spitefully activates a timer on the bomb to destroy whoever he can.

Following this discussion in ATT, it was decided that having Choose Your Own Adventure as the name of a book genre is causing confusion with the actual Choose Your Own Adventure book series, especially when subpages are considered.

"Gamebooks" was deemed a simpler title with less ambiguity. So, please create the Gamebooks page and move the content of Choose Your Own Adventure in it.

I'll then proceed to edit said page and its subpages to take the move in account, and turn Choose Your Own Adventure into a disambiguation.

Cutey Honey:

Rewrite for Miss Scorpion (New Cutie Honey):

  • Miss Scorpion, from "Prison Is the Nest of Evil", is an invincible Combat Sadomasochist who gets off on fighting. The warden of an illegal island prison, she watches men fight each other to the death—often participating herself—while selected women are made her slaves; the ones who aren't are raped by her guards. Sending out her Thug Hunters posing as vigilante policemen, one of her many captives is Akira Fudou, whom she challenges in a fight for his freedom, knowing she'll win thanks to her powers. After Akira is freed by Honey and rigs the island to explode, Scorpion turns into a monster using Panther Zora's powers and tries to leave Honey to die in the explosion. Incredibly sadistic and violent, Scorpion was the worst of Zora's new Panther Claw members.

And please change the Re: header to:

Re: Cutie Honey: In this Denser and Wackier take on the franchise, these two stand out as particularly vile:

Can we add Pro Jared to Fallen Creator?

  • ProJared was once a relatively popular and well-liked game reviewer on YouTube, with a healthy fanbase and a subscriber count of around 1.1 million. Then it came to light that he'd been cheating on his wife, who he had recently split up with over Twitter, with Holly Conrad, the ex-wife of Ross from Game Grumps. His reputation and subscriber count were destroyed overnight. If that weren't enough, his fellow Normal Boots contributor PeanutButterGamer threw himself under the bus, too, by trying to defend him against the allegations. Many have noted how ironic it is that, despite earlier catching some flack for some (self-admitted) foolish and bigoted comments, Jon "JonTron" Jafari ended up looking the best of any Normal Boots creator, simply by virtue of not engaging in or promoting sexual affairs.
