Blitzo: We're assassins, not bodyguards, okay? Don't invite us to shit unless someone's gonna die.
Stolas: I'll pay you...
Blitzo: Pay me what?
Stolas: ~Money~...
Blitzo: DONE!

When Stolas hires I.M.P as bodyguards on a trip to Loo Loo Land, things sure do happen - namely a lot of family melodrama between him and his daughter Octavia, set against a backdrop of a theme park that's seen better days, even for Hell.

Tropes for this episode include:

  • An Aesop: If your child is going through a hard time, don't try to distract them from it by appealing to their nostalgia. If anything, you might be making it worse by reminding them of how bad they have it now compared to the past. Talk to them about it.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: The sleazy carnival employee running a prize-winning game tries to hit on Millie after humiliating Moxxie, but Millie is not at all flattered, and is actually disturbed by his advances. He loses his chance after becoming a casualty in Blitzo and Robo Fizz's fight.
  • Abnormal Plushies: While walking around Loo Loo Land, Millie notices a stuffed "thing" available as a prize for a rigged game. The "thing" resembles a fat purple platypus in overalls with demon horns.
  • Abusive Advertising: Loo Loo Land's mascot outright says this when welcoming the group:
Loo Loo: Welcome to Loo Loo Land! If y'all get hurt here, just try and sue us!
  • Abusive Parents: Played for Laughs. An imp is injured by debris when trying to take a family picture. His father's reaction?
"Goddammit, Nathan! You ruined another bloody photo! Why were you even born?!"
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: The whole episode has Stolas trying to cheer up his daughter Octavia at Loo Loo Land. Since she isn't five anymore, all it does is frustrate her. It doesn't help that he also mentions and flirts with Blitzo on almost every occasion.
  • Armor-Piercing Question:
    • Played for Laughs in one of the few moments where Octavia smiles. She asks the Loo Loo Land mascot about the... familiarity of the park.
Octavia: (sarcastically) Is it true this park is just a really shameless spinoff of Lucifer's far more popular Lu Lu World?
      Loo Loo: ...No?
    • Played for Drama when Octavia confronts her father about the situation at home and their future together. It forces Stolas to refocus on her.
Octavia: Are you going to run off with [Blitzo]? And leave me behind? Go away where I can't find you?
Stolas: What? No! No, no, never. I'd never do that... Never.
    • Defied when Robo Fizz tries to lay one on Blitzo, who responds quickly with no emotional distress.
Robo Fizz: Real or not, though, people lo-ove me! Does anybody love yo-o-ou, Blitz-o?
Blitzo: No. But I'm really good with guns now! DANCE, BITCH!
  • Amusement Park of Doom: Loo Loo Land is one full stop, when it's not being an example of Souvenir Land with high prices and the like. Besides the obvious of it being an amusement park in Hell, the place is noticeably falling apart and even dares visitors to try and sue if they get injured due to No OSHA Compliance, there are numerous criminals running about the place that try to kidnap Stolas multiple times, and Robo Fizz gets into a fight with Blitzo that quickly sets the entire park on fire.
  • Ascended Meme: One of the ship names for Moxie and Millie is "M&M"; Blitzo used the same name in this episode to call them both.
  • Ask a Stupid Question...: Stolas asks Octavia during breakfast if she slept well. She sarcastically asks back if her father was asking a "serious question", as she had just literally woke from and walked past her parents' fight.
  • Awful Wedded Life: It's been implied before, but it's confirmed here that Stolas and Stella's marriage has been falling apart for a while. Even before Stolas started having an affair with Blitzo, he alludes through the song he sings to his daughter that his relationship with Stella has already become distant at best.
  • Awful Truth: When Stolas tries to explain to his daughter why he's having affairs and his marriage is falling apart, he can't find the words since there's no gentle way to say that he and his wife never really loved each other, that he hasn't been happy in his marriage in a long time, and implies that his wife was always distant and temperamental.
  • Badass in Distress: Invoked by Stolas. The end of the episode reveals he can more than handle himself with kidnappers (since a glare can turn them to stone), but he hires Blitzo as his "bodyguard" so the imp can protect him. Stolas even calls him his "Knight in Shining Armor" at one point.
  • Bait-and-Switch: When Stolas is curious about what his daughter is listening to during breakfast, she responds:
Octavia: This song is called "My World is Burning Down Around Me." It's by Fuck You Dad. [Beat] It's a band.
    Stolas: Oh! How charming...
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Loona yells this at Blitzo, Moxxie and Millie from offscreen after hearing them exclaim "Loo Loo Land" too many times.
    Moxxie: Loo Loo Land?
    Millie: Loo Loo Land?!
    Blitzo: Loo Loo Land!
    Loona: SHUT THE FUCK UP!
  • Big "YES!": Millie, who wants a prize from one of the park's games. Specifically, a "thing" [plush].
  • Bittersweet Ending: In a symbolic gesture representing Octavia's lost innocence, Loo Loo Land burns down as a direct result of Blitzo and Robo Fizz's fight. Octavia also realizes that her parents' marriage has all but disintegrated (and that they likely never loved each other in the first place), but she and Stolas have reconciled and are now closer than they've ever been.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: Stolas hires I.M.P to guard him and his daughter when they have a day out, but it becomes glaringly obvious that he only hired them because he wanted Blitzo around, and also to enjoy his quality time with Octavia uninterrupted. This is cemented at the very end, where he turns an assassin to stone with a glare when he threatens his new reconciliation with Octavia.
  • Book Ends: The episode begins and ends with Octavia being afraid that Stolas will abandon her, and Stolas reassuring her that he would never do that because he loves her too much.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Octavia asking her dad if he and her mom "stopped screaming for the day" implies this isn't the first time she had dealt with this.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Stolas is unable to find the words for Octavia to explain, or excuse, his actions with Blitzo or his situation with his wife Stella. He at least tells her this.
  • Casting Gag: Loo-Loo the mascot is voiced by Maxwell Atoms, creator of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, who was cast specifically because he would be mostly interacting with Moxxie. Richard Horvitz would not learn who voiced that character until Vivziepop pointed out during a live panel that she cast him specifically for that gag with him.
  • Cerebus Retcon:
    • Stolas' sexual obsession with Blitzo was played as a joke in the pilot and first episode. Here, it's shown to have destabilized the owl demon's marriage, which is causing distress on his daughter, who is genuinely afraid he'll run off with his new lover and leave her. Watching her father continue to flirt with Blitzo only further upsets her until she runs away in tears.
    • This episode is also at the receiving end of this trope. In the context of this episode alone, Moxxie's anguish with theme park isn't explain, and serve more as the premise of him being scared by the mascot due to a Noodle Incident as a joke. In Season 2, we learn that Moxxie's father is a mafia boss, hiding a part of his activities in an abandoned Loo Loo Land, including torture and murder. And that Moxxie witnessed and even maybe was forced to participate, while he was still a child. No wonder why he is traumatized by the theme park. We still don't know what is the exact matter with the mascot, though.
  • Characterisation Click Moment: While in the Pilot Stolas was more conventionally evil (wanting Blitzo to assassinate a politician trying to stop global warming), it's here his characterization as an Innocently Insensitive horn-dog with an ill-tempered wife and angsty daughter whom he cares about so deeply becomes the crux of his character.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: When Moxxie puking after a ride, we can see a dragon in the zoo nearby. The next time we see it is when the dragon (ridden by Moxxie at this moment) eats Robo Fizz.
  • Complaining About Rescues They Don't Like: Stolas isn't exactly grateful for Millie getting an imp attacker off his back, as he would be for Blitzo. Justified because he's Willfully Weak at the park and all this spectacle is to get Blitzo's attention.
Stolas: Now, where is Blitzy? He's my Knight in Shining Armor. Not you... littler ones.
  • Continuity Nod: Stella furiously calls out Stolas cheating on her with Blitzo from the pilot episode.
  • Crappy Carnival: Loo Loo Land is an amusement park in Hell, so of course it's full of rigged prize-games, creepy clowns, overpriced merch and death-trap roller-coasters. However, it's regarded as even crappier when Octavia believes it's just a Shoddy Knockoff of "Lu Lu World", a different amusement park owned by Lucifer (thus explaining the apple motif).
Octavia: This place reeks of insecure corporate shame.
  • Creator Cameo: A number of background imps seen in the episode are actually the impsonas of the crew and VivziePop.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Somewhat oddly, considering it's only the second episode of the series, Stolas and Octavia are front and center in this episode, with Blitzo, Moxxie, and Millie being relegated to side plots and Loona having only one line of dialogue and never appearing onscreen.
  • Demoted to Extra: While this episode is A Day in the Limelight for Stolas and Octavia, Moxxie, Millie and Blitzo were relegated to being a Plucky Comic Relief in B-plots while Loona only got an off-screen voice cameo.
  • Dull Surprise: When Stolas is trying to find his daughter in the funhouse, he's more annoyed than distressed when an imp tries to knock him out. Justified, as Stolas is more than powerful enough to cast off his assailant, and only brought along I.M.P to both take care of unwelcome interruptions while trying to cheer up Octavia and also flirt with Blitzo.
  • Dynamic Entry: Millie crashes into the door's windows of Blitzo's office after hearing they're going to Loo Loo Land, her favorite theme park. Apparently it was thanks to coming running and jumping into it out of excitement.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: A possible example. Octavia says she liked Loo Loo Land when "my parents didn't hate each other," and we do see a picture of Stella smiling along with Stolas and a young Octavia. Later episodes strongly imply that Stella always loved making Stolas miserable. However, the show has yet to go deeply into Stella's relationship with Octavia, so it's possible Octavia remembers things this way because both parents were trying to keep the peace.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: The "thing" Millie wants, a bird/demon-like plush, has a tag that says "THiNG?". Justified as she admits she has no idea what it's supposed to be.
  • Faceless Masses: The crowd of children surrounding young Octavia in her unpleasant memory of Robo Fizz are all drawn mostly featureless, with only their glowing eyes standing out.
  • Fate Worse than Death: How Octavia views a trip to Loo Loo Land.
  • Fictional Counterpart: The titular theme park can best be described as "Rip-off Disneyland in Hell."
  • Foreshadowing:
    • The entire conflict of this episode is foreshadowed in the opening scene. Octavia has a nightmare about trying to find Stolas, but can't and Stolas assures her he'll be there no matter what happens. At the end of the episode, realizing her parents marriage has pretty much crashed and burned, Octavia asks if Stolas is going to abandon her for Blitzo, which Stolas assures her will never happen. As an added bonus, both scenes have Stolas carrying Octavia in his arms, though as a teenager is more of a Bridal Carry.
    • For the rest of the show:
      • Without any surprise, the simple existence of Robot Fizzarolli announces the actual Fizzarolli.
      • The episode implies that Stolas' and Stella's marriage turned poorly even before Stolas cheated on her with Blitzo. We learn in Season 2 that their marriage was toxic since the very beginning, and that's Stolas' obsession with Blitzo comes from a desperate attempt to find something else happy in his life beside Octavia.
      • Less predictable, Moxxie's fear of theme parks. We learn in Season 2 that his father is a mafia boss, who hides a part of his activities in an abandoned Loo Loo Land, including torture and murder, and the Moxxie witnessed this at a very young age.
      • Many of the attractions and backgrounds of Loo Loo Land heavily set up Mammon's characterization as an avaricious, sleazy and unscrupulous Corrupt Corporate Executive who will find any possible way to squeeze money out of something and creates a lot of Shoddy Knockoff Products that he sells extremely overpriced, even though Mammon himself wouldn't appear in person until well into Season 2.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus:
    • There's a lot of signs and the like denying that "Loo Loo Land" is ripping off Lucifer's "Lu Lu World", including the extremely long disclaimer Robo-Fizz briefly thrusts at the camera.
Mammon's Legal Disclaimer: This is a statement regarding the unfair accusations that my theme park "Loo Loo Land" is in any way trying to profit off my friend and ruler Lucifer's park "Lu Lu World". That is FALSE. These accusations are baseless and UNTRUE!! You all are just dicks. Fuck right off and stop saying that alright? They are LEGALLY DISTINCT. I checked. —Signed, Mammon
    • Pause quickly and there is a demon version of Waldo in the background when Loo Loo welcomes the cast to the park.
    • When you see the rest of Blitzo's office after he smashed his phone, you can see a jar containing a single eye. Considering that Moxxie blew out Martha's eye completely intact the previous episode...
  • Freudian Slip: When Octavia asks Stolas who he's calling for security detail, he responds "The only man who can f*ck me" before hastily correcting himself to "protect me— us" when he realizes what he just said in front of his daughter. She is reasonably disturbed about it.
  • Headphones Equal Isolation: Octavia has to resort to drowning her parents' fights with the music on her phone.
  • Hold Your Hippogriffs: Apparently, Heaven is used as an expletive in Hell, seeing as Moxxie's response to the rigged carnival game is to say "The Heaven's wrong with this thing!?"
  • I'll Take That as a Compliment: Millie supposedly has a silent form of this when Blitzo tells Moxxie to listen to her, "his hoe", resulting in her smiling.
  • Innocence Lost: The burning down of Loo Loo Land can be read as Octavia's childhood being destroyed thanks to, tellingly enough, Blitzo's intruding. It can also be a sign that Stolas finally accepts that his daughter has grown up.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Stolas, in a misguided attempt to cheer her up, took Via to a theme park she has already outgrown despite her explicitly saying that she would prefer to "kill herself". In a more serious note, he's also oblivious to the fact that Blitzo's presence and Stolas' frequent flirting with him is a constant reminder of the very issue he was trying to distract her from, and that it was making her extremely uncomfortable. Only once she left on her own does he understand that he really messed things up.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While it's implied that Stella's relationship with Stolas was never the best, and her parenting skills leave quite a bit to be desired, her anger at finding out that Stolas was cheating on her has some justification to it. The Fantastic Racism she displays towards Blitzo and her greater emphasis on the family's reputation during the tirade do somewhat detract from this however.
  • Lampshade Hanging: "TORCHES! I say, I say get yer inconvenient torches!"
  • Large Ham: Granted, she's shouting at Stolas for most of her on-screen presence, but Stella doesn't seem to have an indoor voice.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: Millie has a preference for melee combat, and in the park's stall she's shown to not be very good at shooting, unlike her husband. However, when it was time to do her job as bodyguard she was able to shoot down the imp holding Stolas, without missing nor hurting her client.
  • Like Parent, Like Spouse: Inverted and downplayed. While Stolas and Stella have been distant for some time (and likely never loved each other to begin with), he is very close to his daughter Octavia, and has a very clingy crush on Blitzo. A few scenes also show that Blitzo and Octavia are more alike than they think.
  • Literal-Minded: When Octavia said she was gonna be sick (due to her dad's hitting on Blitzo in front of her), Moxxie was quick to offer her pills (and even morphine). Octavia had to clarify it was figurative speak. Though to be fair to Moxxie, she did say "literally."
  • Malicious Misnaming: Unsurprisingly, given that their interactions are entirely malicious, after Blitzo informs Robo Fizz that he's changed the pronunciation of his name, Fizz makes a point of addressing him by his former name a second time.
  • Marriage of Convenience: Stolas is at a loss for words as he tries to tell his distraught daughter that her parents never loved each other to begin with.
  • Match Cut: Used thrice over the course of the episode.
    • First is when Stolas tucks Octavia into bed in the opening, we pan to her sleeping soundly. Match cut to several years later, where an older Octavia is woken up by a crash and her mother shouting at Stolas.
    • Second is when Stolas is on the phone with Blitzo while Octavia is in the room. He refers to him as "big dicked Blitzie," prompting spit takes from both him and Octavia, and the episode match cuts repeatedly as they both shout at Stolas.
    • Third is in Loo Loo Land itself, when Octavia is experiencing a flashback to when she was seeing Robo Fizz. After she is scared of him, Robo Fizz looks at a younger Blitzo who is grumpily leaning on his balloon stand. Match cut back to the present where Blitzo is leaning on Octavia with the exact same pose.
  • Meaningful Background Event: The constellation of Taurus can be seen in the background while Stolas and Via are in space.
    • As Stolas and Octavia leaves Loo Loo Land, we can see the ending of I.M.P and Robo Fizz's battle, ending in Dragon, tamed by Moxxie, eating the Fizzarolli robot.
  • A Minor Kidroduction: The episode begins with a 5-year-old Octavia being serenaded by her father. It cuts to her in her teens later when she wakes up and her mother is screaming at Stolas for sleeping with Blitzo.
  • Mocky Mouse: Loo Loo is clearly meant to be this.
  • Money to Burn: The shooting game attendant rolls one of Moxxie’s hundred-soul bills into a joint and lights it with his thumb.
  • Mood Whiplash: Immediately after the end of Stolas' touching Parental Love Song to a young Octavia, there's a Smash Cut to a sullen teenage Octavia waking up to the sound of her parents having a vicious argument over Stolas' infidelity.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Upon seeing how upset Octavia's become due to his absent-minded flirting with Blitzo and his misguided belief that Loo Loo Land still held appeal for her, Stolas is deeply distraught and apologizes to his daughter. When Octavia asks him if he's planning to run off with Blitzo and abandon her, he's absolutely horrified that he allowed their relationship to degrade to the point where she could even entertain such a notion.
  • No OSHA Compliance: Loo Loo Land seems to have seen better days, as much of the signs and rides are falling apart and the animatronics are horrifyingly malfunctioning. If the mascot's Abusive Advertising is anything to go by, the staff for the park supposedly don't care.
  • Not Helping Your Case: While Stella was already furious with Stolas for cheating on her, with an imp, in their bed, Stolas trying to reassure her that he only did that because he didn't have time to go to a motel just drives Stella further up the wall. Interestingly, she doesn't call out his response for Comically Missing the Point, but for the thought of him acting like a "plebeian" for what he suggested.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: We do see some of Blitzo and Robo Fizz's fight through Loo Loo Land before moving to Stolas having a heart-to-heart with Octavia in the funhouse. By the time they leave, we see the park in total chaos and on fire.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Stolas drops his flamboyant behavior once Octavia runs off. When an imp tries to knock him out he's clearly annoyed that Blitzo isn't around to do the job he was hired for.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: A giant, multi-eyed wyvern monster is apparently an attraction at Loo Loo Land's petting zoo. It has a standard bipedal dinosaur-like gait with a face resembling that of a pterosaur. It also ends up eating the Fizzarolli robot.
  • Out of the Inferno: Pun aside; Robo Fizz is able to walk out his show's blazing tent after Blitzo's fall disrupted a cart of [inconvenient] torches.
  • Overly Long Gag: Defied by Loona.
Blitzo: [via tiny loudspeaker] M&M, get in here! We're going to Loo Loo Land!
    Moxxie: [anxiously] Loo Loo Land?
    Millie: [excitedly] Loo Loo Land?
    Blitzo: [singsongy] Loo Loo Land!
Loona: [furiously] SHUT THE FUCK UP!
  • Parental Love Song: The episode's first scene, taking place several years in the past, has Stolas comforting Octavia after she wakes up from a nightmare by singing about how much he loves her.
  • Parental Sexuality Squick: Stolas has a bad habit very graphically hitting on Blitzo at every opportunity with Octavia within earshot, made even worse considering his affair with Blitzo is the cause of Octavia's blossoming contempt towards him.
  • Plagiarism in Fiction: Several blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments suggest that the titular theme park is actually a plagiarized version of another theme park in Hell, "Lu Lu World", which is owned by Lucifer, which would certainly explain the heavy apple motif when it's supposedly run by Mammon. All over the entirety of the park are signs saying they're legally required to say that they are not affiliated with Lu Lu World. Additionally, Robo Fizz steals a line from "Inside Every Demon is a Rainbow" for his own song immediately after singing how there's "no copyrights infringements even seen", even making some of the same poses Charlie was.
Octavia: This whole place reeks of insecure corporate shame.
  • Properly Paranoid: Octavia questions why Stolas feels the need to hire bodyguards for a visit to a carnival, but Stolas assures her that plenty of people are after him because he's rich and beautiful. While those might not be the reasons, and Stolas proves in the end that he doesn't need bodyguards for any reason, sure enough, throughout the episode Stolas is constantly hounded by various tiny demons with knives.
  • Right in Front of Me: Stolas seems to zigzag this with Octavia, who at least is within earshot of him throughout most of the episode. A few times he has to correct himself, but is otherwise completely oblivious. Being the teenage daughter, Octavia's reactions range from annoyance to disgust.
Stolas: Now, I'm calling the only man who could [BLEEP] me.
    Octavia: What?
    Stolas: Whocouldprotectme. Us.
  • Rule of Symbolism: During A Minor Kidroduction, Stolas reassures a distraught Octavia that he'll never leave her, and uses his grimoire to demonstrate that even if the universe itself dies, he'll never be far away. Surprisingly, this comforts little Octavia. When the episode proper starts, Octavia listens to a song called, "My World is Burning Down Around Me" to drown out her parents fighting about her father's infidelity. At the end of the episode, her favorite childhood theme park literally burns down around her, thanks to (appropriately enough) her father's paramour's antics. However, Octavia is completely fine with it since her father just reassured her that he would never abandon her. In other words: Stolas means the world to Octavia, and she's just fine with the world burning down around her as long as her father is there.
  • Running Gag: An unlucky imp family constantly gets caught up in the protagonists' shenanigans in the background, ranging from getting puked on by Moxxie to having their photo ruined by a burning "thing" landing on the elder son's head when the stall got destroyed in the fight between Blitzo and Robo Fizz.
  • Sci-Fi Writers Have No Sense of Scale: In the opening song, the solar system being destroyed has its planets hurl itself at the local star almost simultaneously, as if all the planets were slowed down in the star's vicinity before rushing in when assembled. Planets in a solar system are too very far from each other from that to happen. Not only that, stars themselves are huge. Even if Stolas used the smallest star in the universe like a red or brown dwarf, it would be the equivalent of dropping a pebble into a lake.
  • Self-Serving Memory: Played for Laughs. While Stolas remembers Octavia "cry[ing] such Tears of Joy" at Robo Fizz's show, Octavia remembers it as a traumatic experience.
Octavia: I hate that fucking clown.
  • Shoddy Knock Off Product: Loo Loo Land is a shoddy knockoff theme park of Lucifer's Lu Lu World, with Robo Fizz claiming repeatedly through his routine that they're legally distinct. They have signs all over that says they legally have to say that they're not affiliated with Lu Lu World.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: Blitzo, Millie, and Moxxie are absent when Stolas and Octavia have a serious heart to heart talk about their family issues in the Fun House ride.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Stolas nicknames Octavia "Starfire".
    • The parents of one of the families at Loo Loo Land bear a strong resemblance to Vernon and Petunia Dursley, and the British-accented father even berates his eldest son in as cruel a manner as Vernon would to Harry.
    • Millie's enthusiasm over wanting "a thing" (a stuffed toy) and Moxxie's failed attempts to win it over and over could be a reference to Wendy and Dipper in "The Time Traveler's Pig."
    • When the gang first arrive at the theme park and the camera zooms out when the Loo Loo mascot shows up, a demon dressed like Waldo can be seen waving at the camera.
    • Robo Fizz's knee-slide at the end of his musical number is highly reminiscent of Dr. Facilier's pose at the end of "Friends on the Other Side"—the camera angle, pyrotechnic effects, and color palette are similar as well.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Robo Fizz tries to give Blitzo a Hannibal Lecture, but the imp is having none of it.
Robo Fizz: [Evil Laugh] Is that Blitz-o my sensors spot up the-e-ere? I guess the kiddies are still running away from you, huh? [laugh continues]
Blitzo: The "o" is silent now.
Robo Fizz: A-Aww... just like your audience always was when you to-told your lazy jokes here! [another evil laugh]
Blitzo: Bitch, I make more money killing people than you do being a cheap-ass robo-ripoff of an overrated sellout jester!
Robo Fizz: Oo-o-oh! Someone's salty! Real or not, though, people lo-ove me! Does anybody love yo-o-ou, Blitz-o?
Blitzo: No. [lifts his rifle] But I'm really good with guns now! [loads a full clip] Dance, bitch! [opens fire]
  • Skewed Priorities: Played With in terms of how Stella viewed Stolas cheating on her. She's mad enough about the deed itself, but it sounds more like she's royally pissed over the fact that he did so with what she sees as a lower class demon (in this case, an imp like Blitzo). In their own bed, no less. Her rage is taken up to eleven during this exchange:
Stolas: It was unexpected! I didn't have time to go to a motel!
Stella: A motel?! LIKE A FUCKING PLEBEIAN?!?!
    • Zig-Zagged for Stolas. Following his fight with Stella, he decides to take Octavia to Loo Loo Land for some quality time together. He stays true to this, despite the daughter not wanting to be there, but soon spends more time flirting with Blitzo, who is actually focused on protecting them both. He eventually refocuses on Octavia near the end of the episode.
    • Double Subverted for Blitzo. He remains focused on protecting Stolas (while resisting his advances), and sends Millie and Moxxie to carry on when he deals with Robo Fizz.
  • Smash Cut: When Blitzo says he's going to take watch on Stolas and Octavia, he tells Millie and Moxxie that they can have some fun. Millie immediately takes Moxxie to "The Lawsuit," a rollercoaster with a sharp descent, with the latter saying "Oh crumbs!" as he's being carried in. Before we even see them fully enter the coaster, the episode immediately cuts to Moxxie throwing up in a trash can, with Millie trying to comfort him and looking at passersby with embarrassment.
  • Souvenir Land: Loo Loo Land can basically be described as "Disney Land in Hell", but the park itself straight-up challenges its visitors to try and sue them for their No OSHA Compliance. They charge $20 for a novelty cup that will only get used once, they have a rollercoaster with a sudden sharp 90 degree drop called "The Lawsuit", and the games are rigged. One carnie barker in particular scams Moxxie out of all of his cash before allowing Millie to win and starts flirting with her. There's also Fizzarolli's Circus show, which embraces the unholy combination of Suck E. Cheese's and Circus of Fear together. Octavia says the whole place reeks of insecure corporate shame after they deny being a spin-off of the more successful Lu Lu World.
Loo Loo the mascot: Welcome to Loo Loo Land. If you get hurt here, just try and sue us!
  • Spit Take: Blitzo and Octavia do this when they hear Stolas call Blitzo his "big dicked Blitzie".
  • Stealth Pun: The letter "R" is not glowing in the "friends" sign, turning it into "fiends".
  • Take That!: Moxxie makes a brief comment about pricey souvenir items, like special drinking cups, that tourists buy and use one time. It's unlikely most [older] people will use them more than once outside of an amusement/theme park.
  • Technicolor Fire: Literal hell fire is seen in this episode thanks to a cart of "inconvenient torches" whose fire is a bright green.
  • Unnecessarily Creepy Robot: Robo Fizz and the other animatronics range from creepy to downright terrifying, likely due to their lack of maintenance. Exaggerated when on fire.
  • Undisclosed Funds: Played for laughs: Stolas entices Blitzo to be his bodyguard for the day by offering him... “money.” How much? He never says and apparently doesn’t need to; it seems any amount is enough to convince Blitzo to accept the offer.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Blitzo picking a fight with Robo Fizz leads to the destruction of Loo Loo Land.
  • Win Her a Prize: Moxxie attempts to win a thing for Millie at a shooting range, but the targets are rigged to not go down when shot. When Millie plays and misses the target completely, the imp running the game presses a switch to make the target fall on its own to humiliate Moxxie in front of Millie and then attempts to hit on Millie. Moxxie at least makes sure to grab the prize for Millie when they leave.
  • Worth It: When Moxxie calls out Blitzo for unnecessarily escalating their assignment, the latter says this after burning down Loo Loo Land while trying to destroy Robo Fizz, claiming that the "slutty toy clown" had it coming.
  • Would Rather Suffer: Stolas suggests a trip to the titular theme park for him and Octavia. Her response?
    Octavia: I'd rather kill myself.

The Robotic Fizzarolli

As an animatronic modelled after the real Fizzarolli who's a demonic jester, Robo Fizz is a robotic jester.
