Orange Lantern Corps

    In General
A corps of Orange Lanterns formed by OL. Their current main goal in the Paragon timeline is the defeat of the Reach. Their current main goal in the Renegade timeline is the protection of the Vega system.
  • Greed: Orange Lanterns are powered by their ability to want things. In order to function properly though, they need to learn how to channel their desires into something constructive.

Members in Both Timelines

    Hinon Hee Hannanan
The forger of Paul's ring. She is the Controller Paul regularly interacts with.
  • Beneath the Mask: She reveals in Episode 108: Anti-Thesis that she acts like a disapproving grandmother because it improves her interpersonal relationships with other species. Without it, she's much less emotive, like a robot.
Hinon: (with a blank face) The vast majority of sentient beings from social species expect a degree of punishment when they step outside of accepted bounds of acceptable behaviour. Minor insults meet that need while also stimulating a desire for praise.
Paul: You don't need to act with me, Hinon Hee Hannanan. I'd much rather know the real you.
Hinon: I am very old, Illustres Paul. Without a shell personality I would barely be able to interact with young creatures like you. This is far more effective than the alternative. Trust me to know my business.
  • Hidden Depths: What she wants the most is to use the power of the orange light to help the universe, as she is aware of just how much things have and will go wrong.
Paul: So that's what you want?
Hinon: Yes. Because every time wiser heads have relinquished control, some idiot brings everything crashing down. I. Want. Control. Not because I wish to control people as an exercise in egotism, but because I want to prevent things like… [gestures at a device that captured one of the Endless] Like this. Have you any idea how many people across the galaxy were comatosed, or rendered incapable of sleeping bereft as they are of the exotic protections my own people can use, or simply driven insane by nightmarish visions conjured from the newly ungoverned Dreaming? How many times those nightmares became real, breaking into the material universe to wreak havoc?
  • Miniature Senior Citizens: Hinon is of similar size as the other Guardians, and she reaches Paul's belly button. She could change her size; she just doesn't feel like doing so.
  • Secret-Keeper: Paul told her his origin.
  • Spotting the Thread: She noticed that Paul knew more than he should be able to, but kept quiet as there was no reason to push it. That was until he revealed some of his knowledge about the Endless, then she finally confronted him, leading to him telling her his origin.

    Vril Dox II
The cloned son of Brainiac and the Clarissi of the Orange Lantern Corps.
  • Character Development: He starts becoming more social and less of a Control Freak thanks to Paul.
  • Control Freak: He had no control over his own fate for most of his life. As such, he wishes to impose order in a chaotic universe.
  • Freudian Excuse: He was created by his "father" intentionally less intelligent, was tortured by him, and was left at the mercy of the Computer Tyrants, and later the Dominators.
  • Green-Skinned Space Babe: A male version who actually has green skin.
  • Hates Their Parent: He (very understandably) hates Brainiac.
OL: Can I assume that you hate [Brainiac] with a fiery passion?
Vril Dox II: Passion is irrational. If my objective were his destruction I would remain cold and calculating.
OL: But if you could make one being in the universe suffer an agonising death..?
Vril Dox II: I would select him.
  • Insufferable Genius: He comes across as arrogant most of the time.
  • No Social Skills: He is casually dismissive of most people and often doesn't look at them when speaking.
  • Number Two: Acts as this to the Renegade, much to his frustration.
  • Point of Divergence: As Dox has a power ring, he will not be raped and subsequently be the father of Stealth's child, Lyrl Dox aka Brainiac III.
  • The Spock: Vril Dox II relies on logic above all else.

    Komand'r
The first princess of Tamaran and joint first recruit of the Orange Lantern Corps.
  • Adaptational Heroism: She never betrayed Tamaran in this universe, and is loyal to her world and her people.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Downplayed. She's not as cheerful and friendly as her sister, but she's still much nicer than in the comics.
  • Adaptational Wimp: She and her sister lack their canon powers in the Paragon timeline.
  • Always Second Best: She felt this way towards Koriand'r. Justified as Koriand'r is regarded better and is even the next in line to the throne.
  • Blood Knight: She loves fighting and killing enemies.
  • Character Development: She becomes less abrasive in the Paragon timeline thanks to Paul's influence.
  • Flying Brick: Becomes this after her illness is cured.
  • Flying Firepower: Is this in the Renegade timeline.
  • Green-Skinned Space Babe: Like all Tamaraneans, she looks like an green-eyed human with orange skin.
  • Hand Blast: Can fire starbolts in the Renegade timeline.
  • Jumped at the Call: Komand'r wasted no time in accepting Paul's offer to become an Orange Lantern.
  • The Power of the Sun: Averted at first, due to her illness. She gets this back in both timelines.
    • In the Renegade timeline, the Psions' experiments which give her her canonical abilities also cure her of her illness.
    • In the Paragon timeline, Paul encourages her to find a cure for herself so that she can share it with the rest of her people. We find out that she succeeded in doing just that in Episode 87: Jiggity-Jig.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red to her sister's Blue. Komand'r is much more vengeful against their oppressors.
  • Stripperific: Averted. Unlike other Tamaraneans, she's fine with clothing that covers most of her skin. This is justified, as she was unable to absorb ultraviolet light to fly like the rest of her species for most of her life.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: Downplayed. She's still much more serious than her sister, but thanks to Paul's help, she is a lot less surly than she used to be.

    Koriand'r
The second princess of Tamaran and joint first recruit of the Orange Lantern Corps.
  • Adaptational Wimp: She and her sister lack their canon powers in the Paragon timeline.
  • Arranged Marriage: She was set to have one in order to get support to become the next ruler of Tamaran. It is annulled thanks to Paul helping her get the authority on her own merits.
  • Flying Brick: Like all Tamaraneans.
  • Flying Firepower: Is this in the Renegade timeline.
  • Good Is Not Soft: She is a kind and thoughtful woman, but she has no mercy for those whom she sees as completely abhorrent, such as the Gordanians or the Citadelians.
  • Green-Skinned Space Babe: Like all Tamaraneans, she looks like an green-eyed human with orange skin.
  • Hand Blast: Can fire starbolts in the Renegade timeline.
  • Head-Turning Beauty: When she visits Earth, a lot of people end up distracted by her beauty.
  • Obliviously Beautiful: Due to growing up on Okaara, which has very different standards of beauty compared to Tamaran, Koriand'r is surprised when Paul says she's stunning and that people on Earth find her attractive.
  • The Pollyanna: Paul is amazed by her ability to retain a positive attitude after he rescues her.
  • The Power of the Sun: She absorbs ultraviolet light like all Tamaraneans.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue to her sister's Red. Koriand'r is the more compassionate one, and much more forgiving.
  • Stripperific: She likes wearing as little as possible in order to absorb more ultraviolet light, as is customary for her people.

    Kalmin
A Weaponer from Qward, and the creator of both the Anti-Green Lantern Corps and Sinestro's yellow power ring.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: He truly believes that Paul destroyed a religion that demanded the eyes of all women past a certain age just to provide him with enough hope make a blue personal lantern.
  • Mad Scientist: Qwardians, or at least the Weaponers and the ones who wish to become Weaponers, are already this. However, he is beyond most of them as he is also a loyal servant of the Anti-Monitor.

Members in the Renegade Timeline

    In General

    Diataria Lysis
A Weaponer of Qward and the student of Kalmin.
  • Stripperiffic: Averted. She used to wear a revealing outfit, as it helped draw the attention of higher ranked q'ardajin. She stopped after reaching the highest rank she could achieve.

Larfleeze's Corps

    In General
  • Non-Indicative Name: The Corps is just Larfleeze and his Construct-Lanterns, not an actual group of individuals who wield the orange light.

    Larfleeze
The original Orange Lantern.
  • The Dreaded: The forest he lives in is forbidden because everyone who enters is never seen again.
  • Fatal Flaw: Greed, naturally. He is incapable of being patient and immediately goes after what he wants with no forethought whatsoever. This actually also makes him the strongest Orange Lantern.

Guardians of the Universe

    In General
The creators and leaders of the Green Lantern Corps.
  • Broken Pedestal: Martian Manhunter loses all respect for the Guardians when he learns of their hand in devastating the surface of Mars and turning the Martians into a bunch of recluses that shy away from going out into the wider universe and never leave their caves.
  • Dwindling Party: After the Controllers broke off, thirty three Guardians remained. By the beginning of the story, there are only nine left.
  • My Greatest Failure: The Guardians, as well as the Controllers who were members at the time, consider what Krona did to be this. When only counting the things they, or at least some of their members, actually did and not something they failed to prevent, this would be the Massacre of Sector 666.
  • Non-Indicative Name: It is more of a boast than truth at the moment, but they are working on expanding.
  • Pride: They believe they know more than anyone else when it comes to the Emotional Spectrum. Paul takes whatever opportunity he has to prove them wrong.

"In forest dark or glade beferned
no blade of grass shall go unturned.
Let those who have the daylight spurned
tread not where this green lamp has burned."
  • The Paragon: Paul credits him with having an ideal mindset for a good lantern and seeks to emulate his comportment.
  • Plant Person: His entire species are plant people.

    Katma Tui
The Green Lantern of Sector 1417. She took over after Sinestro's expulsion.
  • Badass Creed: Averted. She just points at her lantern without saying anything when she recharges.
  • Badass Normal: In her backstory. She had no powers, but led the rebellion against Sinestro.
  • Never Accepted in His Hometown: Sinestro ruined the reputation of the Green Lanterns on Korugar. As such, the people of her homeworld hate her simply for becoming his replacement.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Her reward for leading the rebellion against Sinestro is to become his replacement, and subsequently exiled from her homeworld for becoming a Green Lantern.
  • Redeeming Replacement: She wishes to make the Green Lantern Corps honorable and trustworthy again in the eyes of her homeworld as Sinestro's replacement.
  • Teacher/Student Romance: Is in a relationship with one of her students, John Stewart.
  • You Can't Go Home Again: Her planet refuses any and all Lanterns, so she can never return.

    Jack Chance
The Green Lantern of Sector 17. He normally stays on his homeworld, Hellhole.
  • Badass Creed: His is rather irreverent, unlike most other Lantern oaths. It's first heard when he recharges before fighting Lantern Blume.
"You who are wicked, evil, and mean,
I'm the nastiest creep you've ever seen!
    Come one, come all; put up a fight;
I'll pound your butts with Green Lantern's light.
    Yowza!"
  • Combat Pragmatist: Unlike most other Lanterns, he always has more weapons on him than just his ring.
  • Cowboy Cop: He primarily follows his own rules when operating on his own, which is the reason the Guardians don't like him.
  • Good Is Not Soft: He's a Green Lantern who can, and will, kill if needed. This is because Hellhole really is that bad a place, so the Guardians give him special exception from their No Kill rule.

    Saarek
The Green Lantern of Sector 773.
  • Badass Creed: We only hear part of his. It's first heard when he recharges before fighting Lantern Blume.
    "…that evil's dark can ne'er demean.
The light of justice must be seen…"
  • Necromancer: He is noted to be one.
  • Shout-Out: He looks like a Vulcan, something that is noted In-Universe.

    Green Man
The Green Lantern of Sector 2828.
  • Badass Creed: We only hear part of his. It's first heard when he recharges before fighting Lantern Blume.
    "Bring light to the ring,

A rookie Green Lantern from Sector 2815 who has been apprenticed to Hal Jordan.
  • The Apprentice: To Hal Jordan.

  • Fallen Hero: He was once regarded as the greatest Green Lantern.
  • The Ghost: He has been referenced many times, but hasn't actually appeared in the story.
  • Murder by Inaction: Did this to his predecessor by allowing him to die of blood loss rather than save his life and have to give back the power ring he just got. Paul thinks about it while telling the story of Katma Tui to Artemis and Paula.
Guy was a bit iffy about sharing a Greenie's personal history with me, but he was happy to talk about Sinestro. Turns out they still didn't know what he'd done to Prohl Gosgotha. Once I questioned him Guy compared the timelines from Sinestro's logs. He was disgusted to say the least when he confirmed what I said.
  • The Paragon Always Rebels: Sinestro was respected as the greatest Green Lantern alive before he became an extremist.
  • Tell Me How You Fight: Sinestro's fighting style changed after he replaced his green power ring with a yellow power ring.
