Main Characters:

     In General
  • Amazon Brigade: All the main members of their friend group are female, and they all grow to serious levels of power and asskicking over the course of the story.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: They are the friendliest people in the story, but they are not to be trifled with. They are aware that the world they live in is dangerous and train viciously to not end up as victims and to protect their families and other innocents.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Simurgh explains to them that Jörmungandr will send his most powerful and vicious warriors to hunt them down. The girls who already went against Soul Society and their experiences at Camp Every are completely unfazed by the prospect. Simurgh did not expect that lack of reaction.
  • Little Bit Beastly: They still 'Pony-up', manifesting their pony ears and wings, during their transformation. It's just easy to forget about those when their Fullbring transformation kicks in.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Fullbringers require an object they have enough emotional connection to manifest their powers. If they can't reach it or if the object is destroyed, their powers are lost. However, in the Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie's case, their Fullbrings mixed with the Equestrian Magic, allowing them to summon their powers the same way they Pony-Up.
    • In the same vein, Sunset's innate magic makes her Reaper powers to create two separate spirits - Hokori and Hikari.

     Sunset Shimmer

Sunset Shimmer

Species: Human/Soul Reaper/Unicorn/ Phoenix
Zanpakutō : Ignite, Hokori no Hikari 'Pride's Light' (shikai) / Mugen-Hokori no Eien-Hikari 'Unlimited Pride of Eternal Light' (Bankai)

  • The Confidant: People seem to have easier time unloading their emotional baggage around Sunset. Be it her friends or people she barely knows, they seem to trust her with their issues. On her part is Sunset's always eager to patiently listen and help if she can.
  • The Empath: Easily able to figure out that something is bothering her friends.
  • Gamer Chick:
Rainbow Dash: You didn’t lobotomize yourself, did you Sunset? And if you did, can I have your video game collection?
Sunset: Not even if I was six feet under, Dash. I want that stuff buried with me!
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: She doesn't need much reason to help others. She simply can't stop herself from aiding or saving others. It's just who she is.
    • Jörmungandr questions why she would risk fighting him over a girl she barely knows. For Sunset that's enough and besides she blames herself for putting Wallflower's consciousness at risk.
  • Cuddlebug: She may not look like it, but she's eager to violate the personal space of her friends, especially ones she has not seen in a while.
  • Feather Flechettes: The first power she manifests with her Anima. Unlike most cases, the feathers shoot out of her sword instead of wings. They also explode.
  • Guilt Complex: She has the habit of blaming herself when something (that either has anything to do with magic or if she's at least partially involved) with it, goes south.
  • Harping on About Harpies: Her Inner Beast is a Phoenix. She gains more and more of its features the longer she stays in the Beast Realm. It starts with features in her hair and sharp hands with bird-like scales.
  • I Hate Past Me: She's really ashamed of the things she did. That shame also prevents her from communicating with her Zanpakutō spirit. However, at the same time she likes to point out how ridiculous some of her plans were.
  • Mythical Motifs: Sunset, as in canon, is associated with The Phoenix, the association going further with her Soul Reaper powers. Her Shikai gives her Playing with Fire abilities, and her Bankai gives her Hot Wings, has her shield morph to look more like a Phoenix, and her ultimate attack, Final Phoenix, has her combine her sword and shield, forming a giant fiery Phoenix that explodes when damaged. It limits her to Shikai for at least a day afterward, but it heals all her wounds. Later in the Beast Realm she slowly gains attributes of the Phoenix.
  • ThePhoenix: In what she slowly turns in Beast Realm.
  • Super-Reflexes
  • The Leader: As in canon, she's the de-facto leader for the group of herself and her friends. She never tried to be one and is surprised to hear it. When Sunset says, she's okay with voting, her friends say, it's always been her to make important decisions. It's important to note Sunset always hears people out before making said decisions.
  • Vague Age: Her "Human" birth certificate says 18. She keeps her real age secret, mostly to infuriate Dash.
  • Victoria's Secret Compartment: Sunset can use her own cleavage as a hiding place. Like Discord’s Hogyoku, at least until until Rarity crafts something better. She's rather proud of it.
  • The Rival: To Platinum.

     Twilight Sparkle/ Midnight Sparkle

Twilight Sparkle

Species: Human/Quincy/Magical Being
Weapon: Unnamed Bow covered in magical fire
Schrift: the Variable
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Midnight explains that she's a sum of Twilight's inner desires and dark thoughts. That's why she dresses provocatively, talks in a sultry tone, and pins after older guys. She says, that if she wants it toned down she better go out partying and grab a guy or girl.
    • On a darker note, she also represents Twilight's thirst for knowledge and lust for power born after years of bullying. After making peace with the Shadowbolts and making new friends this side is slowly disappearing.
  • Badass Bookworm: She's gifted in many scientific fields, and knows how to use it against opponents much stronger than her.
  • Big Fancy House: Even bigger than in the Movies. There her house is big it's still a house. In the story, she lives in a truly massive Mansion!
  • Break the Cutie: Her experience in the Quincy military has not been kind to her. Losing her mother, her hand, and finding out the truth about her past life (in a few days, no less) has cooled down her optimism, significantly. Thankfully she still continues to retain her desire to end the Forever War, so that no one else has to suffer the way she and her friends have because of it.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Midnight's a huge pervert from the start, with the Chivarlous part slowly emerging through the story.
  • Fireball Eyeballs: Whenever Midnight emerges or Twilight uses stronger magic her eyes are engulfed in teal flames.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She has several labs, in her family's mansion, in which she managed to create, create magic and soul energy-detecting devices among other things. Later she a glove to help her mix magic and her own spirit energy.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Midnight's clothes leave very little to the imagination. Something which makes Twilight very uncomfortable.
  • Pragmatic Hero: While Twilight's a genuinely kind-hearted person with the best intentions in mind, she's not above assassinating people that can prove troublesome in the future. She defends herself calling it practical, while Applejack notes it feels ruthless, but agrees with her.
  • Science Hero: What makes her a terrifying opponent is her immense intellect. She can analyze her opponents to predict the probability of their next move, and the devices she makes help her keep an edge over them.
  • Science Wizard: She's always been adept in her scientific pursuits. She was the top student and Crystal Prep and later without knowing about their existence, she managed to create both magic and Reiatsu-detecting devices. Later when Midnight manifests within her she also gains access to very powerful and versatile magic.
  • Shrinking Violet: She never grew out of it. She went through rigorous training, warzones, and multiple assassination attempts, which hardened her heart but she still stutters occasionally around her friends. It's how she shows she feels safe around them.
  • The Tease: Midnight, again. She also dresses up in revealing clothes and makes remarks about how handsome guys like Soarin or Sombra are, much to Twilight's dismay.
  • Weak, but Skilled: While physically weak, she makes up for it by being an incredibly quick thinker with an array of spells at her disposal.
  • World's Smartest Woman: She has the potential to become one. While still young she manages to keep up with the setting's Discord and Human Starswil. She managed to create mechanical limbs and a Reiatsu-detecting device. In a day. While not knowing something like Souls exists.

     Applejack

Applejack

Species: Human (Fullbringer)/Bear
Fullbring: Honest Heart Regalia
  • Animal Motifs: Bears.
  • Armor Is Useless: Downplayed Trope. The amount of armor is a physical manifestation of her power. The more armor she has the stronger she is and the harder it becomes to wound her. It's just she and her friends have a habit of fighting opponents that are strong enough to cut through it. Even then it's probably saved her life a few times. Against mooks, she's a Implacable Man.
  • Berserk Button: Don't ever damage her stetson. It's a very easy way to make her very angry. It's what makes her awaken her inner Beast.
  • Flight: Before learning Bringer Light, Applejack used her gauntlets and boots to propulse herself into the air. She even mentioned Iron Man, when she first tried it.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: She starts with simple kicks, but after gaining a pair of metal gauntlets she starts fighting with her fists. She still uses them even after completing her Fullbring.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Protective, Honest, reliable, and with glorious blonde hair made into braids.
  • Helmets Are Hardly Heroic: Her armor covers everything except her head. Instead, she has a golden band to keep her stetson in place.
  • Jousting Lance: Applejack eventually gains a truly massive and wieldy golden lance, with the tip of two helical grooves giving it an appearance of a twist drill than a weapon.
  • Kick Chick: At first she defeats her opponents using her powerful legs augmented by her Fulbting. Later as her powers evolve she uses them less and less.
  • Lightning Bruiser: While being extremely strong, Applejack keeps the weight and agility of a fit, teenage girl, even in her armor, which allows her to keep her speed. Her armor later develops countless, tiny ports on every part of it, significantly increasing her speed.
  • Made of Iron: This girl took a cut through a shoulder from a Reaper Captain and still was ready to fight. And that was as a (ostensibly) living human, before starting to train her Fullbring.
  • Super-Strength: Easily the strongest of the group. Just how strong is yet to be seen.
  • Super-Toughness: Possibly the sturdiest of the girls in the group.

     Rainbow Dash

Rainbow Dash

Species: Human (Fullbringer)/Cat
Fullbring: Loyalty Knows No Chains
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: People having an unusual color skin is nothing unusual, but it's noted that Rainbow's new fur is dark purple.
  • Animal Motifs: Cats, Panthers to be specific.
  • Cats Are Mean: And aggressive. Aweaking her inner beast causes her to go completely berserk and go Toglodyte killer spree. She would gladly start eating them if not for Applejack, whom she tried to attack when she tried to stop her. According to Asena, Rainbow's behavior was caused by Dash naturally following her instinct instead of her head.
  • Cats Are Superior: She already had a high opinion of herself and her inner beast is a cat/panther.
Rainbow Dash: It isn’t arrogance if you’ve got the stuff to back it up, right?
  • Didn't Think This Through: On her first day in Svartalheim, she eats some mushrooms. Without asking if they are edible. Intoxication Ensues.
  • Flight: Her Fullbring gives her the ability to fly at incredible speeds.
  • Genre Savvy: Avid gamer and Anime fan, she recognizes a possible Tournament Arc.
  • The Nose Knows: Her beast side increases her sense of smell. It's how she recognized Applejack and it helped her calm down.
  • Shock and Awe: Her Fullbring's offensive power manifests as firing powerful lightning bolts. Gaia Everfree compares her lightning to Zeus himself.
  • Shock Stick: By completing her Fullbring she gains a foot-long spear with twin heads of solid azure lightning.
  • Super-Speed: Fitting for Rainbow Dash, she's the fastest of all of her friends and in the top tiers for speed even amongst the fastest of the other factions. Sunset at one point muses Dash's very likely faster than light-speed when she pushes herself.
  • Weather Manipulation: Slowly but steadily Rainbow learns how to control the weather. It's unknown if it's a power from her Fullbring or Equestrian Magic.

     Fluttershy

Fluttershy

Species: Human (Fullbringer)
Fullbring: Kind Bodhisattva
  • Amputation Stops Spread: Luckily it does. To stop Guto's Midas Touch attack she cuts it clean off. With her own fingers, mind you.
  • An Arm and a Leg: She loses an arm to stop trying to stop Guto's Midas Touch. She cuts it with her own fingers, btw. Luckily she has five more.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: With her powers, Fluttershy could easily convince her opponents to slit their throats or simply order their hearts to stop beating. Luckily for everyone, Shy is the kind of person that mere thoughts would make her sick. Instead, she uses it to convince her opponents to lay down their weapons and give up.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: She went from nervously avoiding her opponents, to gently touching them to pummeling them down with a barrage of enhanced punches from her six arms. All while remaining disturbingly calm.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: The poster child of the trope. She'll go out of her way to avoid fighting, but if her opponent makes it clear that they won't change their ways or won't back, then it's Megaton Punch to the face. You don't believe it? She was the first person to defeat two Espadas.
  • Body Motifs: Hands. While she can influence people with her voice, it's most effective when she touches them. Completing her Fullbring gives her six flesh arms and the ability to sprout hundreds of ethereal arms which she can use to attack, defend, and influence reality around her. It's later explained it represents her desire to help everyone by extending her hand to them.
  • Compelling Voice: Her voice alone is enough to influence people, though the effect is the strongest after touching them.
  • Enhanced Punch
  • Enlightenment Superpowers: While all Fulbrings have elements of this, it's most obvious with her. She even calls her attacks Enlightenment Techniques.
  • Healing Hands: Literally, in her case. She can sprout countless hands, which she uses to spread her spirit energy and make people heal. At some point, it's potent enough to soothe Smooze's pain, much to his amazement and relief. Not enough to get rid of it, however.
  • Magnetic Hero: She might be as good if not better than Sunset. Be it by fighting or just being kind, in the end, people want to help and protect her. While she's grateful she would rather be their friend.
  • Martial Pacifist: She's a fairly skilled hand-to-hand fighter, but she hates violence and will only use it when she sees no other option.
  • The Medic: A self-appointed but a very considerable one at that. She only has basic medical knowledge, which she makes up by pouring her spirit energy into others and pushing their bodies to heal.
  • Mythical Motifs: Fluttershy's completed Fullbring is heavily inspired by the "Bodhisattva" of the Buddhist religion.
  • Nerves of Steel: She develops it throughout the story. She occasionally shows her nervous side when times are calm, but she's cool as ice when fighting. She only falters when she has to cut off her own arm, but literally a second later she continues fighting.
  • Nice Guy: Even more than the rest of her team. When she meets Di-roy, the guy that attacked Pinkie's home and then tried to kidnap her and CMC, her reaction is to ask how is he doing like meeting an old friend. It helps that she's stronger than him now and she knows he works for Adagio, now.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: She sends a truly glorious barrage into Guto. Combined with Enhanced Punch. And she can have six or five at the time. Catharsis Factor guaranteed.
  • Stronger Than They Look: Torch is a giant of a man and the Fifth strongest Arrancar in the World. Fluttershy can shake his hand like an equal, which surprises and pleases Torch.
  • Support Party Member: While Fluttershy's power has many applications, its main use is boosting up her friends and allies. It's very effective as she only needs to be in close proximity for it works, and enhances their strength, speed, and other abilities to the point they can fight battles they wouldn't be able to win.
  • Token Religious Teammate: Possibly. She's expressed an interest in Buddhism ideals like peace and enlightenment and her Fullbring is inspired by the Buddhist figure Bodhisattva. It's downplayed as she never thought about herself as particularly religious.

     Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie/Pinkamena

Species: Human (Fullbringer)
Fullbring: Laughter of Madness
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Pinkamena. She's a being born from Pinkie's Fullbring physically manifesting all those emotions she didn't know how to handle, which resulted in the creation of an Ax-Crazy, glutinous, Edgelord, that both enemies and allies are scared of. Luckily, Pinkie can pull her back inside. It becomes less of a case as the story goes, they become more in tune. While Pinkie learns to express the darker part of herself, Pinkamena becomes calmer and less crazy.
  • Ax-Crazy: And how?! Pinkamena literally lives to fight and devour others, and she cares little if they are allies or enemies. At first.
  • Big Eater: From what Sunset said Pinkie is never ever really full. Mena takes it to a deadly, new level.
  • Humongous-Headed Hammer: The next evolution in Pinkie Pie's Fullbring involves this, except she's the hammer being used by Pinkamena. Because her powers operate on Rule of Funny and Rule of Scary, she can change the size of it on a whim.
  • I Know What You Fear: Half of her powers are based on fear and terror. Her humorous gags make Grogar lose his cool attitude and she knows that Hydia is scarred of being alone.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Mena loves threatening to eat people alive. Luckily, she limits herself to eating Hollows and nibbling her human opponents. At one point she notes she's never tasted a Quincy.
  • Made of Iron: She's like, really hard to hurt. Toon Physics might be at play.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: Just like her Equestrian counterpart she has her signature Pinkie Sense, which proves handy at detecting threats. Unfortunately, her life, the lives of everyone she loves, and even the lives of strangers that she hasn't even met yet are constantly in danger, meaning she gets her twitches much more frequently, to the point she can't tell what kind of dangers threaten them. While most of those are small enough that are barely noticeable to anyone else she needs Pinkamena's help to keep them in check. After Sunset, Dash and AJ are sent to the Beast Realm Pinkie's sense makes her briefly pass out.
  • Psycho Party Member: The most unstable and violent member of the team. If it wasn't for the abundance of enemies for her to fight and eat, and Pinkie being in charge, she might have easily turned feral.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Or yellow, in Mena's case. When her eyes start glowing it's a sign of her more primal side taking control. As Pinkie's powers are Hollow in nature, it makes sense.
  • Rule of Funny: Her Fullbring gives her the ability to basically give physics and reality the middle finger as long as the result can be considered a gag.
  • Token Non-Human: kind of. While Pinkie is fully human with Hollow Powers, Pinkamena is completely made of Hollow Reiryoku, which takes a form of a (monstrous) humanoid.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Over the course of the story Mena slowly gets accustomed to other people, becoming more amiable. She even stops threatening her friends to eat them. Just to nibble them from time to time.
  • Victory by Endurance: She rarely goes for the killing blow, instead, uses gags and and fear to wear her opponents down.

     Rarity

Rarity

Species: Human (Fullbringer/ Sinner)
Fullbring: Court of the Generous Rose
  • Agony of the Feet: Her favorite attack is to surprise her opponents with spikes bursting from the ground.
  • Awesome by Analysis: She has an innate talent for coming up with strategies on the fly. It allows defeat foes stronger and even more experienced than her. She defeats Blueblood, a Captain of the Gotei 13, not through brute force but by carefully observing his movements and the workings of his Shikai in order to eventually neutralize him before he can activate his Bankai.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Her Hell powers manifest as a Power Parasite, which is the opposite of her Harmony Element, Generosity.
  • Battle Ballgown: Besides creating weapons Rarity can create crystalline armour to boost her defense. Her completed Fullbring paints it white.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: While in perfect shape, she admits there's a certain charm to women with fuller curves. Ironic, since she tells that to Hydia.
  • Blood Magic: Her Fullbring uses her blood as a catalyst to create various crystal constructs.
  • Bloody Murder
  • Flight: She was the first one to learn Bringer Light.
  • One-Man Army: Literally in her case. Her completion allows her to create a fully equipped army, that includes archers, cavalry (mounting pegasuses no less), and powerful cannons. While they have a lever of autonomy to act accordingly to the situation, she has complete control of every single one of the soldiers.
  • Power Incontinence: Her Sinner powers activate without her knowledge and while it's essential to run away from Typhon, they also drain Blueblood's spirit energy without her even noticing. It's so bad he ends up unconscious.
  • Power Parasite: Her Sinner power lets her drain the energy from others to empower her Fullbring.
  • Royal Rapier: Rarity's preferred weapon. No matter what weapons she creates, she always has rapier handy. Fits as she's as elegant as she's deadly.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: She can create any weapons made from her own blood and crystals. After completing her Fullbring she creates a fully equipped army!
  • The Strategist: She's always been quick to use her wits to win a battle stacked against her, and after her Fullbringer evolves she uses it to effectively become this.

     Clover

Clover

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō : Seek, Chishiki (knowledge)
  • Anti-Magic: Her Zanpaktou has the ability to negate any Spirit-based attacks and abilities as long she has enough time to analyze her opponent.
  • Brought Down to Badass: The lack of her Zanpakutō greatly decreases her combat capabilities and devoids her of her two most powerful skills. She still manages to kick ass with a Kidō alone. It's pointed out by Celestia, Starswirl, and the Author's Note she's very likely the strongest active Lieutenant in Soul Society despite this handicap.
  • Can't Catch Up: Her biggest fear. She worries that without her Zanpakutō she won't be able to help her new friends. She does her best to master Kido arts, so she can be 'some' help. Unfortunately, while she has the talent and spirit, she's still massively outpaced by them. She often has to stay in the back while the Girls take care of whatever opponent at a time. Her efforts pay off, and she gets nominated to the Captain status.
  • Rank Up: After Scorpan dies and Captain Celestia becomes his replacement, she's appointed the new head of the Thirteenth Division in her place.
  • Sixth Ranger: She's the newest addition to the group. While the rest of the girls had previous adventures together, Clover only started to become part of the team somewhere in the middle of the first Arc.

     Adagio Dazzle

Adagio Dazzle

Species: Siren/Human/Arrancar
Resurrección: Strive; Ambicion! (Ambition)
  • Ambition Is Evil: Adagio's main driving force, even after the events of the second movie. Her Resurrección is even named Ambicion (Ambition). She's more than aware that her ambition is to blame for ending up in the human world, poor and without magic. However, the trope is later played with. While her Ambition still puts her at odds with other dangerous individuals, it also greatly improves her life like the ones close to her.
    • She later admits she doesn't think Ambition is a vice, but sees why it can be seen as one.
  • Burger Fool: Following her defeat in Rainbow Rock movie, she and her sister had to work at a burger joint to earn some money for a small apartment and cheap food. They all (even Sonata) hated it.
  • Compelling Voice: Just like in Rainbow Rock her voice can influence people's minds. She's very discrete about it and uses it mostly to slightly sway the odds in her favor.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: She finds both Thorax and Pharynx extremely attractive in their own ways and wouldn't mind a moment with each of them alone. She quickly stops herself from thoughts like that as she is on the brink of full-blown war.
  • Emotion Eater: Turning into a hollow has repaired her Siren gem, which allows her to gain power from negative emotions, again. Now that she lives among Hollows, it makes gathering power way easier.
  • Friendship Denial: She (Adagio) goes out of her way to not call her vassal friends.
Adagio:Okay, you’ve officially made yourself one of my most useful vassals, Fenice.
Fenice: Frieeeend. F. R. I. E. N. D. Say it with me.
Adagio: A person whose company is sufficiently pleasant for me to continue enduring it. There. Happy?
  • She does call them that in her mind, however.
Adagio (thinking): Dammit, she kept using that word in her brain, stop it brain!
  • Good Is Not Soft: After her brief time spent with Sunset, she started to grow a conscience. Eventually, she admits she might have gone softer, but not that much.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She's not very good at (or interested in) being modest. Her outfits cover just enough to be decent, but not more.
  • Magnetic Hero: Hero is a stretch, but Adagio has limitless charisma. She managed to build her own Fracción, form an alliance with two other Espadas, create an army of weak but numerous arrancars, and even recruit a few powerful ones that would rather stay away from Tirek. All of it in just a few months.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Her train of thought is always at work on how to exploit a given situation or information for her own gain.
  • Mind Control: She has the power to control the minds of weaker individuals to her will. However, she prefers to use the traditional way of convincing people to work with or for her. She convinces Lament to form an alliance without, knowing he could sense even the slightest deception and immediately kill her.
  • Noble Demon: Kind to her Allies and merciless to her enemies.
  • The Power of Hate: Siren can naturally grow stronger from negative emotions. As Hollows are just human souls consumed by negativity, it serves as a continuous influx of energy that speeds up her evolution.
  • Revenge: Besides improving her situation, Adagio's goal is to kill Grogar for endangering her sisters, being the main cause for turning into Hollow and later performing painful experiments And later mass producing copies of Siren gem.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Adagio feels pity for Grogar's creations. She used to be his lab rat and knows what kind of things the old bastard those to his test subjects.
  • The Tease: She came to like her human body and proudly shows it off.
  • Weaponized Teleportation: She absorbed Squirk's control over Gargantas after assasinating him.
  • You Kill It, You Bought It: Played with. While Adagio did kill Squirk she doesn't automatically get his position. It only makes a position that needs to be filled. Adagio has to work for the position. And even then she doesn't have his position, but the position of Sixth.

Friends, Allies, and Family

     Discord

Discord

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Rip through all boundaries, Konran Arashi (Chaos Storm)
  • The Atoner: He was part of the original Project Xcution, manipulating events so that the mothers of Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash would gain Fullbrings and become agents for Soul Society in the mortal world. These days he deeply rejects his actions and what they led to, with part of his reasons for helping the girls being to make up for what happened to their mothers.
  • Classy Cane
  • Declining Promotion: For the creation of the Hōgyoku, he was invited to join the Zero Division, but refused.
  • Lethal Chef: Celestia knows immediately that he didn't make a pie when it tastes good.
  • Sword Cane
  • World's Smartest Man: Discord. He was the captain of the 12th Division and his intellect and invention are so advanced to put him on par with some heavy hitters in the setting. He's the one who created Hōgyoku, a device whose purpose is to break barriers between souls. While still incomplete it earned him an invitation into Zero Division. The Zero Division had to turn to creating a memory copy of him to further their goals after he declined them.

     Ditzy Doo

Ditzy Doo

Species: Soul Reaper-Hollow hybrid
Zanpakutō: ???

     Screw Loose and Screwball

Screw Loose and Screwball

Species: Soul Reaper-Hollow hybrid
Zanpakutō : ???
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: They both sport wide, perpetual, crazy smiles. It's very unnerving.
  • Brought Down to Badass: They used to be Soul Reapers until Starlight stole their swords. Discord made them improvised weapons, and while not as strong as their Z, it suffice for crowd control.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Their minds are... somewhere out there. According to Discord, they've always been eccentric but after being caught in the effect of his bankai, they went completely off the rails.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: Not the kind of girls a regular person would like to start a conversation with, but heroic nonetheless. And they do care about those in their charge. It takes almost 200 chapters for them to admit, they care about the Heroes and their younger sisters.
  • Mask of Power: Just like Ditzy above they have their own. Unlike her, however, they can only use them for only short periods of time.
  • Flawed Prototype: Their masks. They were the product of Starlight desperately trying to incapacitate them instead of trying to make functional masks.
  • Those Two Guys: They are rarely seen apart.

     Chappy

Chappy

Species: Mod Soul
  • Artificial Human: Artificial Soul. She's a Mod Soul, Discord provided for Sunset, so she wouldn't have to worry about her body when she was busy with her Soul Reaper duties.
  • Big-Breast Pride: She was very clear she wished for big breasts when Sunset promised her a body of her own. It's the first thing she asks for.
  • Big Eater: She loves eating. The more the better! At one point she ate a whole wheel cheese. Sunset's really worried about her figure.
  • Grew Beyond Their Programming: It's been repeatedly noted that the Chappy Sunset uses to exit her body for Soul Reaper duties has developed a personality beyond what is normal for her model, particularly a hedonistic streak. She suspects that magic might have something to do with that.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Apparently, while Sunset was away, she threw a party wild enough to police to intervene. After resisting and trying to seduce an officer, and insulting the court she ended up in jail. Sunset's not amused.
  • The Hedonist: You can count on she'll fulfill the entrusted task. In the most fun way possible. She loves eating to the point of sickness, for the love of it. Has a great man-thirst, even in her plushie form, decided to join few clubs at school in charge of Sunsets body, because she thought they are fun and the prospect of fighting Hollows makes her ecstatic.
  • Noodle Incident: While Sunset was in Soul Society, Chappy ended up in jail.
Discord The charges were relatively light and mostly consisted of multiple counts of disturbing the public peace, underage consumption of alcohol in I quote ‘vast quantities’, a few counts of indecent exposure-
    Sunset: Indecent what?
Discord -resisting arrest, improper use of a fire hose, jaywalking, and attempting to seduce a police cruiser. Um, I think that’s most of it. Oh, and one count of excessive profanity against a judge of the court.
  • Palette Swap: Her own body looks exactly like Sunset with different hair and skin colors.

     Spike

Spike

Species: Talking Dog
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: He notes his mouth blade is sharp enough to cut reishi particles,at least when not in non-lethal mode.
  • Canine Companion: To Twilight
  • Composite Character: Inverted. Traditionally, both Fenrir and Fenris are two different names for the same Giant Wolf. Here however they're two separate creatures, with Fenris being a younger half-sister to Fenrir.
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": He develops a dislike of being called Fenrir pretty quickly.
  • Genre Savvy: An avid anime fan, he recognizes a possible Tournament Arc, when he hears it.
  • Hammerspace: He can hide his Armour in his collar.
  • The Immune: the design and the unique blend of technology and magic make him at least partially immune to Wallflower/Hel's life-draining powers.
  • Magitek: His Gunwolf suit was created by combining Quincy Technology and Equestrian magic.
  • Mini-Mecha: Since he's just a tiny puppy and the suit is many times bigger than him, he can pilot it like Mobile-Suit Human.
  • Out of Focus: He doesn't get much spotlight. Possibly justified as he's a puppy in a Shōnen genre story.
    • Later Deconstructed. Because Twilight does all the amazing and dangerous things while he can only sit and do nothing causes no amount of distress for him. Once he gets his own Armour he's more than ready to avert this trope.
  • Pieces of God: He's not the real Fenrir, just a big piece of his Soul that reincarnated after his death. Big enough for Hel to recognize him as her brother.
  • Power Armor: Twilight eventually creates a set of magical armor that he can use to fight Hollows and other threats.
  • Shock and Awe: His suit possesses both shock missiles and an electric sword.
  • Spanner in the Works: If it wasn't for him, the assassination attempt on Twilight's life would have worked.
  • Super-Toughness: Twilight invested a lot of time and resources to make Gunwolf's suit impervious to harm and her efforts paid off. Now it fairs somewhere lower than the likes of Torch, someone known for his thick hide.
  • Undying Loyalty: As expected for a canine, he is fiercely devoted to Twilight.
  • Uplifted Animal: Magic not only gave him the ability to talk but also increased his intelligence. He uses it to ask for extra food, read comics, and act as the voice of reason for Twilight.
  • Wrong Context Magic: Quincy has no idea how the magic that made him an Uplifted Animal works so they have trouble applying Quincy alchemy to him when he needs healing.

     Aria Blaze and Sonata Dusk

Aria Blaze and Sonata Dusk

Species:Siren/Human/ Inheritor
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Sonata's the youngest of the three sisters and also the most childish.
  • Burger Fool: Following their defeat in Rainbow Rock movie, they had to work at a burger joint to earn some money for a small apartment and cheap food. They all (even Sonata) hated it.
  • The Pollyanna: In stark contrast to her sisters. she's eternally cheerful and optimistic. She always has the easiest time adapting to the situation be it working at Burger joint or for Discord.

     Maud

Maud

Species: Human (Fullbringer)
Fullbring:???
  • Amazonian Beauty: According to Pinkie, Maud has rock-hard muscles. Previously she was effortlessly swinging fridge door like a mace, so she's not just Big Sister Worship.
  • Badass Normal: She single-handedly beat up a few lesser Hollows. With fridge doors. While unable to see them.
  • Big Brother Instinct: She'll protect her sisters no matter what. Not even a bunch of huge, invisible monsters can stop her.
  • Companion Cube: Her pet rock, Boulder, just like in the show. She has enough affinity to turn him into focus to manifest her Fullbring.
  • Cool Big Sis: Pinkie absolutely adores and can't praise her enough.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: She was badass when she was just an (ostensibly) normal teenager. Then she got her own Fullbring.

     CMC

Apple Bloom

Species: Human (Fullbringer)
Fullbring:???
  • Sympathy for the Devil: She feels sorry for Diamond Tiara after she finds out the truth about her father, best friend, and Quincy as a whole. Apple Bloom is quite surprised she feels that way as Tiara's been nothing but pain to her.

Sweetie Belle

Species: Human (Fullbringer)
Fullbring:???
  • Bag of Holding: Her Fulbring allows her to store objects in her wand, effectively removing them from existence. The bigger the object the harder is to pull it in. It's even harder if the object is alive
  • Cartoony Eyes: Whatever object she transforms, it always possesses a pair of eyes, even if it's not physically possible.
  • Magic Staff: Sweetie Belle's Fullbring takes the form of a large staff that can change its size at will.

Scootaloo

Species: Bount
Doll: Alerion
  • Didn't Think This Through: Her summoning Crests is on her scooter. She reasoned that she could ride on it everywhere. It does make sense for urban regions but not for forests and other settings like that.
  • Familiar: Like every Bount Scootalloo has the ability to summon a Guardian Entity. Hers takes a form of a massive, flying bird made of rock called Alerion.
  • Food as Bribe: the best way to make Alerion cooperate is to offer or forbid him from eating Oranges.
  • I Control My Minions Through...: Respect. Alerion may be Scootaloo's doll, but he doesn't make it eager to work with him. Scootaloos has to be equally hard on him to make him respect her. Also Oranges. Alerion loves oranges.

     Auntie Lofty and Aunt Holiday

Auntie Lofty and Aunt Holiday

Species: Bount
Doll: Kessel (Lofty), Dampfherz (Holiday)
  • Heroic Neutral: They would rather not engage in any business that happens in the Eternal Spiritual War. At the same time, they can't leave an unconscious person in front of their porch without helping.

     Gloriosa Daisy/Gaia Everfree

Gloriosa Daisy/Gaia Everfree

Species: Human (Fullbringer)/Arrancar
Zanpakutō: ???

  • Alien Blood: She bleeds a green sap-like blood.
  • Ancient Evil: Gaia lived and ruled part of Huceo Mundeo in times before places like Souls Society or Las Noches existed, and helped to build as Tirek's first second Espada, until Chrysalis took her place and pulverized her soul into pieces and sealed her in the Human World. Subvertedas Gaia is one of the most level-headed Hollows. At least when her mind is not clouded by magic overload.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Inverted.
Jörmungandr: As for you, Gaia, did you spend such efforts to be reborn only to now become the lap dog of mortals yourself?”
Gaia/Gloriosa: Don’t be ridiculous. I have my priorities straight. I have a summer camp to run, a little brother to look after, and a Chrysalis to kill. Long as I got those taken care of, I’m a happy woman, both as an Arrancar, and a human.
  • Caring Gardener: She was one of the more easy-going Arrancars and her little piece of Hueco Mundo is covered with a huge, lush garden. She mentions turning regions that were previously barren to be alive again was her favorite pastime. She took a trio of young Arrancar girls under her care and gave them home.
  • Fertility God: She has full control over plants and managed to grow a lush garden in a barren, bonedry Death World that is Hueco Mundo.
  • Happily Adopted: She took in a trio of Arrancar children. While she expected them to work for her, she came to love them as her own.
  • A Lighter Shade of Grey: Compared to the likes of Tirek or Grogar she was downright heroic in the ancient times. She accepted the constant infighting among the Soul Queen children as a necessary and even beneficial part of life, but she didn't participate in them out of the joy of fighting or power struggle. In the current years, she works with the Spirit Coalition out of a desire for revenge with only Gloriosa keeping her anger in check.
  • Merger of Souls: In the climax of the Camp Everfree arc Gloriosa willingly merges herself with Gaia Everfree, becoming one being.
  • Nice Guy: A very kind person that wishes that people at her Camp were safe and have a good time. It It even carries after her fusion with Gaia. While she's eager and even giddy to kill every Reaper, Quincy, and Hollow, she goes out of her way to protect every other person.
  • Power Misidentification: Gloriosa's Green Thumb powers are a Fullbring in this story, with the magic of the geodes having brought them out and masked the Hollow energy enough that no one detected it.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: She wasn't sound of mind, to begin with. Spending hundreds of years isolated in some cave and having their soul damaged and fragmented and only kept together by The Power of Hate, will do that to you. Being fueled by an infinite amount of magic doesn't help either.

     X-Cution

In general

  • Action Mom: At the current times, it only applies to Sweet Cider and Firefly. The rest lost their status when Soul Reapers sealed their powers alongside their memories. However as the situation in the Spirt War gets worse, Discord promised to restore them.
  • Amnesiac Hero: They were once a group of Fullbringer working to stop Hollows from hurting people and doing some other errand jobs for Soul Society and Discord. Hoever, they all have got their memories of working in X-cution, erased after the program had been shot down. Except for Firefly who managed to escape and got protection from Quincy.

Cloudy Quartz

Species: Human (Fullbringer)
Fullbring:???
  • Cool Bike: She used to drive a Harley bike in her youth. She still keeps it in her garage. It's also doubles as a focus object to summon her Fullbring,Hades Shadow.
  • Former Teen Rebel: Hilariously enough she used to be a loud Harley-driving, party-hard girl until she got married to Igneous Rock. She mellowed down, afterward.
  • Generation Xerox: Cookie used to be a party teenage girl, just like Pinkie currently is. The main difference is Cookie like to party hard and didn't stay of drugs and such, while Pinkie is very benign in her parties.
  • Lamarck Was Right: Her Fullbring manifests as a separate, sentient entity with a penchant for Bloodlust and aggression.

    Chrysalis

Chrysalis

Species: Changeling/Inheritor
Relic: ???
God: Laverna
  • An Ice Person: Her Yeti transformation can freeze things with its breath.
  • Legend Fades to Myth: Chrysalis begrudgingly comes to the realization that this is her fate. With her out of the Hive, the future generation will only hear about her in stories and she'll end up as nothing but a bad memory, or a bogeyman for naughty children.
  • Shapeshifting: Just like her Counterpart, Equestrian Chrysalis can Shapeshift. Arguably her powers are even more potent as she can transform into other beings and gain their powers. She can even transform parts of her body into weapons and minerals. The main inhibition is that she needs love to transform and she's low on that. So far she's shown the ability to transform into Dragons, Redcap, Adamantium, Yeti.

Laverna

  • Crazy-Prepared: Before creating her relic she prepared a test for her next life in case they are Selfish Bitch. Seeing that her next life is Chrysalis, she was right to do so.
  • Mystical Jade: Her weapon was a Jade Dagger.
  • Phantom Thief: She's an alicorn of shapeshifting and thievery who took care of the society's outcasts. She frequently stole from wealthy Alicorns leaving only flowers as a reminder of more beautiful things in life than riches.
  • Sensei for Scoundrels: She created a safe haven for outcasts of the Alicorn Society and taught them the art of stealing and shapeshifting.
  • Shapeshifter: The original Shapeshifter that created the magic, which she used to sneak and steal. She also taught her followers this power.

The Sea Witch and the Deep Ones

Charybdis

Species: Sea Pony/Abomination
  • Big Bad Wannabe: She is trying hard to be the Big Bad, but she just lacks the firepower, information, and influence for that. She manages to be threatening at the start of the Mane 6, but they manage to dispose of her quite quickly.
  • Didn't Think This Through: There are more than a few flaws in her plan, like how she'd protect the souls of her followers from being eaten by Hollows, and how she'd deal with Glory and her machinations, assuming that she had any idea about Zero Division.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: She genuinely cares about Sahuagin.

Sahuagin (Deep Ones)

Morgawr

Species: Sahuagin
  • Energy Absorption: He wields a magic trident that can absorb magic.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: He's against sacrificing his prisoners because they would be of better use as a workforce. Or food if needed.
  • Religious Bruiser: He's the high Shaman of Charybdis with enough muscles to rip killer whales.
  • Worthy Opponent: Morgwar despite being infuriated at Tempest and Starlight for stealing his trident can't help but have a bit of admiration for their courage to face him, even thinking it would be an honor to eat Starlight's heart.

Divitis

Species: Sahuagin
  • Maker of Monsters: He's skilled at creating Terror Beast.
  • The Starscream: Towards Morgwar. He remains fully loyal to Charybdis, however. She's sure that loyalty will guarantee his support for Ulgvir.

Ulgriv

Species: Sahuagin
  • Religious Bruiser: He's a deep believer in Deep Mistress. He never looses his faith, even after Charybdis is defeated and put into custody.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: He's still young and the newest addition to the Sahuagin warband. Probably why he's most open to new ideas.

     Scylla

Scylla

Species: Seapony
  • Collector of the Strange: Scylla collected many items of power during her adventures. Artifacts, weapons, armor, all of great magical power. Many if not all of those are Inheritances with which she planned to conquer the world.
  • Warrior Princess: She was this in life. She had a weapon rack and personal training area in her room, while little else, which probably impacted her social life. In truth, she planned to conquer the surface world and steal their relics. She might have succeded if not for Charybdis.

Soul Society

Division 1

     Captain-Commander Scorpan

Scorpan

Species: Soul Reaper/ Second Generation God
Zanpakutō: ”Bring all of heaven and earth under one sky and become the foundation of the world; Shiki no Ken! 'Sword of Four Seasons' (Shikai)/ Shunkashuto-Ikkon 'Four Seasons - One Soul' (Bankai)
  • Cool Old Guy: He's possibly the kindest old man in the setting, living by the philosophy of guiding young people to their full potential, with a gentle hand. Which unfortunately puts him at odds with his brother.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He's said to be a very kind and patient person. While he's dedicated to Sour Reaper's law he's not blinded by it. Which actually works against him. Once he hears that Celestia and Luna's execution has been preponed he rushes to Central 46 to voice his objection only to end up in a trap, designed to hold him long enough for Starlight to finish her plan.
  • The Older Immortal: He's the oldest Sour Reaper in existence. Hard to tell how old exactly, but he was still young when the Gods walked the Earth. Ironically, though he's the youngest of the remaining descendants of the Soul Queen.
  • Old Master: He's oldest Shinigami (bare the Zero Division) that mastered all four Zankensoki styles (Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hohō, Kidō), along with very versatile powerful Z enough to keep Glory on the ropes. At least until she activates her Z

     Smart Cookie

Smart Cookie

     Lieutenant Quibble Pants

Quibble Pants

Species: Soul Reaper

Zecora

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: 'Open the beholder’s eye; Kodokuna Shinjitsu 'Solitary Truth' (shikai)/ Sen no Kudaketa Shinjitsu 'One Thousand Fractured Truths' (Bankai)
  • Living Lie Detector: Her Zanpakutō's powers makes it impossible to lie to her.
  • The Medic: The best one in Soul Society and the leader of an entire Division of those.
  • Rhymes on a Dime: Just like her Equestrian Counterpart, she can rhyme as casually as she can speak normally. No one knows why, she does it.
  • Troll: Some suspect she rhymes just because she likes messing with people.

     Lieutenant Redheart

Redheart

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō:???
  • An Ice Person: From what her Reigai has shown Zanpakuto allows her to control snow and freeze her opponents.
  • Nice Girl: Is rather kind, and is one of the biggest voices among the Lieutenants that what's happening with Luna and Celestia is wrong.

Division 5

     Captain Amore

Amore

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō:???
  • Lawful Stupid: She knew that something or someone is pulling strings behind the curtain to execute Celestia and Luna, yet her way to counter it, is keep working according to the Law. Predictably, it costs her her Zan and nearly costs her life.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: A blue Oni to Hope's Red Oni. She's much more collected and dedicated to Reaper traditions than her Lieutenant.

    Lieutenant Radiant Hope

Radiant Hope

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō:???
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Isn't afraid to speak her mind no matter the topic or to whom she speaks. Something Sombra found very endearing about her.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: To Amore. She lets her heart dictate her actions.

Division 6

     Captain Platinum

Captain Platinum

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Plummet; Fuyukogo 'Winter Empress' (shikai) / Fuyukogo Sodaina Kyuden 'Grand Palace of the Winter Empress' (Bankai)
  • Arch-Enemy: To Sunset. She used to see her as nothing but an annoying nuisance, but her defeat from Sunset's hands hurt her pride.

     Fancy Pants

Fancy Pants

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Keep thy promise; Seiyaku 'Oath Bound'
  • Honor Before Reason: Honor matters to him a lot, to the point his Zanpakutō weaponizes it.
  • Manly Facial Hair: He couldn't be Fancy Pants without a glorious mustache.
  • Nice Girl: Unlike his Captain, he's a genuinely respectful and polite guy.
  • Rank Up: Somewhere after the events of Soul Society Civil War he achieves his Bankai and gets promoted to the captain of the Sixth Division.
  • Self-Imposed Challenge: The effects of Seiyaku (Oathbound) start when Fancy makes an oath, consisting of limitations he puts on himself during the fight, like fighting alone or having a limited time to defeat his opponent. Every limitation increases his power and speed, but if he breaks that oath is broken in any way, Seiyaku punishes him with extreme pain.

Division 7

     Captain Thunderhooves

Captain Thunderhooves

     Lieutenant Little Strongheart

Little Strongheart

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō:???

Division 8

     Captain Cheese Sandwich

Captain Cheese Sandwich

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Knock ‘em dead; Hone Nashi 'Boneless'
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Cheese Sandwich is a powerful, competent, and intelligent Soul Reaper captain, ith a power lever described somewhere on par on par with Captain Celestia ...Who acts exactly like his pony self (that is to say, a male Pinkie Pie).
  • Sinister Scythe: His Shikai takes the form of a kusarigama with multiple blades shaped like a rooster's head, with an incense orb replacing an iron ball at the other end, and it will actively go against his control and go for lethal strikes if it feels that a fight is going on too long
  • Smarter Than You Look: He may be a chill dude with a penchant for parties, but he is actually very perspective.

     Lieutenant Sugar Belle

Sugar Belle

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō:???
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Given that her Captain is basically Pinkie's male counterpart, she has the unenviable job of keeping him on task.

Division 9

     Captain Blueblood

Blueblood

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Look upon the world’s treasures; Mezurashi Kokei 'Uncommon Vision'
  • "Ass" in Ambassador: It turns out he's a Sould Society's Diplomat, which shocks and disappoints everyone that knows what he's like. However, it's said that he treats his role professionally. Hard to tell how much truth it had, as we only see him in the role after his Character Development.
  • Blue Blood: He comes from one of Soul Society's original Noble Families. Then there's his name.
  • Covert Pervert: He admits fantasizing about being tied to Rarity. Maybe he meant Marriage?
  • Character Development: Being the only Captain to be defeated by the girls, triggers his transformation from the self-absorbed Jackass with more talent than brain, to someone reliable and dedicated to Soul Society and his allies. Mostly because of Rarity, but it's still an improvement.

     Lieutenant Moondancer

Moondancer

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō:???
  • Magic Librarian: She's the Second in Command of the Ninth Division and the main Librarian of Daireishokairo, the Great Spirit Book Gallery. A place that houses the collective knowledge and history of the Soul Society itself, and so big that without an expert librarian, like Moondancer it would take days or weeks to find anything specific.
  • The Reliable One: A necessity, since her Captain is egocentric, slacker, and womanizer most of the boring and mundane tasks connected with leading the Division fall on her.

Division 10

     Captain Sweet Cider

Sweet Cider

Species: Soul Reaper/Fullbringer
Zanpakutō: Sever; Kizuna 'Bonds'
Fullbring:???
  • Dual Wielding: Once she unlocks her Fullbring sword again, she can use it and Kizuna at once.
  • The Gift: The Best of a Woman had been in the Soul Society only for a decade or two, but in that short time she managed to achieve the position of a Captain and the title of the Kempachi.
  • Oni: Kizuna takes the form of a red-skinned Samurai warrior bigger than Sweet herself.
  • Overranked Soldier: Zigzagged. To become a captain, one needs to achieve Bankai, but while Sweet doesn't have it, she's so mind-blowingly strong that the Soul Society let her take the position of the 10th Division.

     Lieutenant Silverstar

Silverstar

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Dig your heels in; Boseki 'Tombstone'

     Troubleshoes

Troubleshoes

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Trouble Shoes Dry up, Kusatta-Un 'Rotten Luck'
  • Born Unlucky: Bad luck clings to him all the time, which made him rather dull and pessimistic. And best part his ability is specifically crafted to direct that bad luck from him to people he considers a threat.

Division 11

     Captain Hurricane

Hurricane

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Howl across the endless sky; Tetsukaze! 'Iron Wind'
  • Blow You Away: With a name like "Hurricane", is it any surprise that his Shikai gives him wind manipulation abilities?
  • Blue Blood: He's the head of one of Soul Society's original Noble Families.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Unpleasant Blood Knight he can be, he makes a good point that Soul Reapers should be taking a more offensive stance in their fight with Hollows. Looking at how they have Zero Division on their side they could easily destroy both Tirek and Sombra's factions and concentrate their resources on improving the Human Souls' living conditions. [[Spoiler: Makes even more point when it turns out Zero Division propagated the War for their benefit.]]

  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He genuinely loves Posey and will protect her if someone dares to insult her. He also deeply cared deeply for her mother, and mourns even years later.
  • Morality Pet: He doesn't become much nicer around her, but he will not tolerate any insults directed towards her.

     Lieutenant Posey

Posey

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Frenzy; Kyoki! 'Bloodthirst'
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: And how! Even not counting times when Kyoki takes control, she's strong enough to casually throw a grow-up man aside. Her position as a Lieutenant of 11 Division is not a result of Nepotism.
  • Cute and Psycho: Passively she's a sweet and timid girl. When she activates her Zanpakutō then all hell breaks loose. Fancy remarks that if nothing is done about her personality might shift permanently. She gets better, eventually.
  • Extreme Doormat: She makes Fluttershy look confident and assertive by comparison.
  • Girl with Psycho Weapon: And that weapon turns her into a psycho.
  • Heroic Bastard: It's noted that Hurricane was married to someone other than her mother Pansey when she was born (with emphasis on the was part).
  • Hidden Depths: She's good at Caligrafy, and even dips into gardening. She's also Division 13's field medic.
  • Palette Swap: If not for the slightly different color of her skin and hair, it would be easy to mistake her for Fluttershy. Which serves as an obvious Foreshadowing of them being connected.
  • Stronger Than They Look: The girl looks and acts like Fluttershy, but she is as strong as Applejack.
  • Morality Pet: To Hurricane.

Division 12

     Captain Starswirl

Starswirl

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Pull apart; Jukuko! 'Contemplation' (shikai) / Sonzai no Jukuko 'Contemplation of Existence' (Bankai)
  • For Science!: He's more interested in furthering his knowledge than day to day affairs of Seireitei.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: His no-nonsense attitude aside, he's a very pleasant Captain. He admires Twilight's intellect and drops his attempts retrieve Ember from her after display of her intellect and strength.
  • Took a Level in Kindness

     Lieutenant Meadowbrook

Meadowbrook

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: ???; Kasso-ha! 'Gliding Leaf'
  • Nice Guy: So, far he hasn't been anything but nice, and reasonable to everyone. He warned Clover that looking into Soul Society secrets may bring trouble to her. And then he helps her find what she had been looking for. It's also clear he doesn't like the painful experiments his Division conducts on Ember
  • One-Steve Limit: Word of God is he and Meadowbrook are not the same person, just have the same name.

Division 13

     Captain Celestia

Celestia

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Reduce the firmaments of creation to dust and consume the weeping ashes; Shinryu Taiyo! 'Divine Dragons of the Sun'
  • Inadequate Inheritor: Commander Scorpion planned to put her in charge of Soul Society, after the next century or so, but his death forced her to step up. She is more than aware that she's not yet ready and plans to gain full control over her Zanpakutō Spirits.
  • Face Death with Dignity: Played for Laughs. When she was to be executed, her only regret was that she didn't eat enough cake.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: She's the daughter of a Aztec God Quetzalcoatl.

     Lieutenant Flash Sentry

Flash Sentry

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō: Serve faithfully; Kochi Yojinbo! 'East Wind Bodyguard'
  • Amazon Chaser: Sort of. Twilight's not the most athletic pony, even with the strength of Earth Ponies but she's an extremely powerful mage. He shamefully admits seeing her going all out was hot.
  • Jack of All Trades: He thinks of himself as Master of None. He's good but doesn't exceed at any Reaper arts, but he's good at them all to be a Lieutenant.
  • Magnetic Hero: Princess Twilight concludes that this is the reason he's the lieutenant. He's good at making friends.
  • Monkey King Lite: Kochi Yojinbo gives this vibe. He resides on a mountain with a training area and a Japanese Shrine. He always greets him by striking him and acts as Flah's mentor. He's also a playful and a bit of a pervert.
  • Super-Senses: Ponies have better hearing than humans, which he's still getting used to.

     Inkwell

Inkwell

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō:???
  • Almighty Janitor: She's reliable, dutiful, loyal, and has centuries of experience, she could easily be a lieutenant. What stops her is her habit of getting sick and the fact she might be much more of use in the administration of her division.
  • Delicate and Sickly: More 'Sickly' than 'Delicate'. The only thing preventing her from taking the position of Lieutenant is her tendency to get sick easily.

     Silverstream

Silverstream

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō : Play the fool; Yorokobi! 'Joy' (shikai)
  • Beware the Silly Ones: She is just another, younger version of Pinkie Pie in the setting. And just like her, she can be serious and effective when in battle.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: In her first scene he's balancing on the tip of her sword, without care for her meditating friend. A few moments later she's shown utilizing both her Zanpakutō and Kido and incapitate her opponent. All done with a seriousness one wouldn't expect from her.
  • Fatal Fireworks: Yorokobi ignites colorful flames resembling fireworks when thrown, complete with the characteristic sound.
  • Fuuma Shuriken: Her takes the shape of a five-pointed star the size of a coffee table. It ignites when it starts to spin.
  • Genki Girl: Energetic, perky and quite friendly to boot.

HOLLOW

     In general
  • Embodiment of Vice: Adagio suspects that every Arrancar has a special attribute that when indulged in to makes them stronger.
    • For example Adagio's vice is Ambition - in only a few months she achieved the status of Espada with a small army at her disposal.
    • Lament on the other hand is sadness. It's so great it helped him take the position on 4th Espada. After regaining his memories and reconnecting with his family he becomes happier and more emotionally stable but he's also physically weaker and his reiatsu less potent.
  • Good Parents: There are a lot of good parents in the setting, including a lot of Areancar parents. But at the same time, Lass Noches is littered with enough Hollow Children that were abandoned by their parents to fill an Orphanage. To put it simply, lots of Arrancars doesn't bother with rising their kids but those who do are very good at it.

Espada

     1. Primera Espada - Tirek

Tirek

Species: Arrancar/Second Generation God
Resurrección:???
  • The Big Guy: The Biggest Guy in the setting.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: He lives for fighting. That's the only thing that matters and makes sense in life. He would as gladly kill his brother as he would accept dying fighting him. He considers the fact that He wasn't the one that killed him a failure as an older brother.
  • Mythology Gag: In canon Tirek's grandmother was the only person he showed any care and respect. Similarly, Hollow Tirek acts calmer and more civil when Soul Queen was around.
  • Older Than They Look: He looks like a middle-aged man in his prime, despite being millennia years old. It's not unusual for the setting. It's just that his younger brother looks like an old man covered in wrinkles, so he doesn't have an excuse.
  • Villainous Friendship: Tirek openly admits he respected Ravana for his independence and that he could give him a good fight. He even calls him a friend. Ravana on his part gave Tirek his own recipe for hard alcohol, so it's possibly mutual.
  • Villain Respect: Since they share a similar life philosophy he respects Torch enough to consider him the closest thing he has to a friend. The only thing he doesn't understand is his attachment to family, though after Scorpan's death he begrudgingly starts to sort of understand his attachment.

     2. Segunda Espada - Chrysalis

Chrysalis

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Indulge rapaciously; Devoradora (Devourer)
  • Action Bomb: Not her but her children.
  • Animal Motifs: Insets, especially Insect Queen, with her ability to spawn children on a fly.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: She adores Thorax, Pharynx, and Ocellus with every ounce of her soul. It even extends to Equestrian versions of Thorax and Pharynx; while they are not technically hers, continues doting on them. However, instead of humanizing her, this trait only highlights how unhinged Chrysalis truly is. It's partly why she's so focused on gaining other parts of Soul Queen; to create a World where her children are safe.
  • Fertile Blood: She can spawn new children in an instant with just her blood. They are very simple and live only to serve her.
  • Good Parents: Possibly the best. Yes, really. She has nothing but love and admiration for her children, loves spending time with them, and gives them valuable life lessons. Hell, the moment she found out that Equestria Chrysalis is not a Good parent to them, she decides to kill her on the spot, stopping only to beat into her head how much of a failure she is.
  • Has a Type: A very twisted non-romantic (?) Version. She seems to like the good-hearted (it's fun to see them nettled) and strong (they don't break as easily and can actually hurt her) characters. The people she showed interest in are Celestia, Luna, Princess Cadance, and Gaia.
  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: A non-romantic and very heartwarming example. Chrysalis loves all of her children, even the mindless drones, but Thorax, Pharynx, and Ocellus have a special place in her heart, because they have their own completely free will and they can act independently. After all, what good parent wouldn't want their child to make their own decision?
  • Jerkass: ohh, so much. To everyone except her family, she's an In-Universe Hate Sink.
  • Mother of a Thousand Young: Has the ability to produce numerous Hollow offspring, which range from simple disposable drones to ones independent of her will like Thorax, Pharynx, and Ocellus.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Her overpowered healing factor allows her to recover from almost anything in mere seconds, rendering her pretty much invincible.
  • Sadist: She enjoys hurting people with the mirth of a child playing with toys.
  • Wild Card: As Ocellus puts it:
Ocellus: Mother is only ever on one side; hers. All other sides vary in importance depending on her mood and appetite. Even us.
  • Visual Pun: she can spawn a horde of drones and then make them explode. She's a literal explosive breeder.

     3. Tres Espada - Catrina

Catrina

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección:???
  • Animal Motifs: Cats.
  • Cats Are Mean: She has cat-like features and is very vain and dismissive.
  • Combat Hand Fan: She wields metal War Fan.
  • Proud Beauty: She's stunning, and she loves reminding others about it. Even declines Grogar's Improvements for this reason.
  • Fragile Speedster: Her Sonido is the fastest of all other Espada, yet her Hierro is severely lacking. Fragile is relative, however. She's still the third strongest Hollow in existence, and anyone but a Captain would have trouble actually hurting her.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Incredibly jealous of Chrysalis' status and looks. So far, every action she took was in some way connected to undermining the Second Espada in some way or another. Fittingly, she has green eyes.

     4. Cuatro Espada - Lament (UNMARKED SPOILERS)

"Lament"/Hard Nail

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Fade to black; Lamentar. (Regret)
  • Animal Lover: He has an Arrancar dog, which he seems to be at ease with.
  • Badass Boast
Hard Nail: I am Hard Nail, Fourth Espada, aspect of Wrath itself. To harm what I love is to court a screaming death.
  • Berserk Button: Do not damage her face. The threat of damaging her face might deter her if the person is strong enough, but if her face is actually damaged they're in the world of pain.
  • Fiery Redhead
  • Four Is Death: He's the fourth Espada and the only one who was alive before dying and becoming one. He is also known as The Dreaded among his kind for being very easy to provoke.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Even by Hollow standards his physiology is abnormal. For starters, his organs don't actually do anything, allowing him to shrug off insane amounts of damage. He also doesn't really have any blood, though what he does have still works for a Gran Rey Cero.
  • The Immune: Played with. He's not Immune to Harshwinny's Uncaring Shrift, but because his mind is tormented by regret her power helps him calm down and fight more effectively.
  • Papa Wolf: Has adopted numerous Arrancar orphans, as well as a living Fullbringer, and is fiercely protective of them. Fittingly, his Resurrección gives him wolf-like features, namely a mask like a wolf's skull, wolf pelts on his body, and claws.
  • Red Right Hand: Inverted. Being inspired by his family, he accepts his new life as a Hollow which grants him a new skeletal arm.
  • Through His Stomach: Through her Stomach. At first, Sweet Cider tolerated him solely because he knew how to cook. He forgets how to cook when he becomes Hollow.
  • Worf Had the Flu: He had been hit hard with it. After the events at Camp Everfree, he's been left with only one hand and his slow healing Factor means it will stay that way. He no longer feels that overwhelming sadness that fueled his power.

     5. Quinto Espada - Torch

Torch

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Ravage; Guerra. (War)
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: He might be a towering, soul-eating Draconic Abomination, but he's a total sweetheart when it comes to Ember. He dotes and hugs her, whenever he can, especially after retrieving her from the Reapers much to her embarrassment.
  • Benevolent Boss: None of his underlings ever complain about him, or even pay Ember any favor, while Torch encourages them to think independently. He has Caja Negación in his arsenal as a means to punish them, but he forgot about it because he's never had a need to use it.
  • The Big Guy
  • Blood Knight: Loves a good battle. His blade's name even means "War".
  • Dented Iron: While still immensely powerful centuries of accumulated wounds are starting to show.
  • Good Parents: The only thing that he loves more than a good fight is his daughter. He was ready to storm Soul Society on his own, to get her back. He even stops fighting for a bit to give Nightlight to have some faith in his children.
  • Graceful Loser: He's aware that he's too old and too battered to defeat or even give Tirek a proper fight. He's fine with it and decides to do what he loves most for the rest of his life - fighting.
  • Lack of Empathy: Averted. He feels rather sorry for killing Hurricane's wife. Because he didn't give him a chance to avenge her, yet.
  • Noble Demon: He's a ruthless and staunch Blood Knight with Darvinist mindset, but he has a code of honor, loves his daughter and refrains from attacking Lament in his weakened state, even going so far to cover him if someone else tries.
  • Papa Wolf: He allows Ember to roam wherever she wants and is not worried if she gets into fights, he knows she can take care of herself. However, once Ember has been kidnaped, he was ready to storm the Soul Societ to get her back, and he would do it if Adagio didn't convince him there's a safer way to do it.
  • Playing with Fire: He can breathe fire. Ironically, inside his mouth is the only place he's not fire-proof.
  • Smarter Than You Look: It would be easy to mistake his straightforwardness for simple-mindedness, but he's fully aware of what a scheming lot the Espada are. In his words, you don't become the strongest on raw strength alone.
  • Worthy Opponent: Declares both Shining Armour and Spitfire this after they manage to give him a good fight. He promised Spitfire to turn her into Hollow so they can fight forever.
    • He respects Lament after he managed to defeat Fifth Espada and then had the gal attack him. The fight was interrupted by Tirek, and Lament has been given Torch's place as the Fourth. He bears no grudge towards him as he found their fight exciting.
  • Villainous Friendship: He and Lament have a lot of respect for each other. It stems from they both have a sort of working moral compass, both of them are naturally honest people and both try to be Good Parents.
  • You Killed My Father: It's heavily implied he is the one that killed Posey's mother and Hurricane's wife.

     6. Sexta Espada - Adagio
See Main characters

     7. Septima Espada - Guto

Guto

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Plunder their corpses; Conquistador! (Conqueror)
  • Abusive Parents: He's Greta's biological father and he's aware since the moment he saw her. Doesn't make him treat her any different than anyone in his horde.
  • Ancient Rome: The decor of his tower resembles a twisted representation of Rome. Including plenty of marble pillars, red and gold tapestries, and fine vases and statues. His transformation might be even be inspired by Roman Eagle (Aquila).
  • Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: He's very proud of his power as one of the Espada, and he won't hesitate to boast of his own superiority even as he tries to kill or enslave his foes for daring to challenge him. As Fluttershy notes, his power backs up his boasts most of the time, but it's because he's so proud that she was able to exploit openings to give her the victory.
  • Chain Pain: In his Resurrección, he can summon an almost countless number of golden chains (they used to be made of iron) to bind his opponents and if used properly can even restrict their spiritual power. Because they're crafted from his spiritual power, he can also channel spiritual energy directly into them to unleash Balas in an unconventional whip attack or hide the chains inside his Ceros or Balas for surprise attacks. His trump card involves turning anything they make contact with into gold.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: If there was one person he cared about it was Gabby. Losing her was what broke him broke him.
  • Extra-ore-dinary: Has a special ability to transform anything he touches with his chains into gold. That includes him, if he's not careful.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Gilda makes it very clear that she has no empathy for Guto's Dark and Troubled Past because he made her and others like her go through the same kind of hell.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: He's Cero is gold colored.
  • Harping on About Harpies: In his Resurrección, he turns into an Eagle Warrior with heat, feathers, and sharp talons. It's a hint that he's related to Greta.
  • Jerkass: Hollows by nature are not very friendly, but even by their standards he is a colossal dick.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: He paints himself as a benevolent ruler that gives Hollow dregs protection and meaning in life. No one's fooled.
  • Midas Touch: His trump card technique. In his Resurrección, the golden chains he produces can transmute almost anything they touch into gold, be it solid or living matter, and even the very air particles if he concentrates enough, and he can produce more chains from any gold surfaces already created. Because it's his ace, he tends to hold it back in order to lessen the chance of someone learning about it that he isn't about to kill, to the point not even the Quincy's intel seemingly knew about it and he didn't judge Fleur worthy of using it against. There's little one can do to protect themselves from it besides avoiding it. Fortunately, he can do little, too, and because he keeps it secret as much as possible he's not quite as skilled controlling it as he'd like, which is why he has to act with caution and at a safe distance when using it.
  • Money Fetish: He stands out among other Arrancars in that he has very lavish tastes. His chambers are filled with luxurious stuff like wine cases, statues, or gem-encrusted weapons. All made out of gold and his strongest attack turns everthing into gold. Even his slavery proclivities are expression of desire for wealth wealth. From what Gilda says, he has an instinctual power to tell when someone's tampering with his possessions.
  • Personality Powers: The ability to turn objects into gold fits perfectly for a greedy Control Freak. Ironically, this power was developed from his desire to preserve his friend.
  • Razor Wings: His Resurrección gives him sharp and sturdy feathers.
  • Required Secondary Powers: He lacks any protection from his Midas Touch. He has to be careful manipulating his chains or touching the affected area or he'll be affected too.
  • Smug Super: He's very full of himself. So much that it actually hinders his performance against Fluttershy, who he can't see as a threat. Granted, he does have the power to back it up, but if he took her seriously, he would have won.
  • Slavery Is a Special Kind of Evil: Unlike other Espada, Guto would prefer to enslave Quincy as cannon fodder and servanst. He captured Fleur with a plan to tame her and demonstrate to Tirek that it is possible. He would also include humanity as well. He mentions rather elaborate plans for how to effectively breed them.
  • Villainous Breakdown: He experiences a massive one after Fluttershy the girl looks down on serves him a Rapidfire Meganon Punch. It helps his best friend used to be as kind and optimistic as her.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: In his youth, he used to be a much nicer person. He actually resigned from what looked like a life of luxury for his best friend. Unfortunately, his decision cost her her mind and free will.

     8. Octava Espada - Hydia

Hydia

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Degenerate; Alcantarilla (Cesspool)
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Towards Grogar, much to his chagrin.
  • Acid Attack: Besides her Poisonous Cloud, she can spit corrosive phlegm. She can apply it to her poker.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: While still on the villain spectrum, this Hydia is much, much friendlier than her G1 counterpart. She even is a loving mother instead of the abusive one in the show.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: She thinks of herself as one. To be fair, being overweight is possibly the least hideous thing about her. Actually subverted. She knows she's ugly but reasons her personality makes up for that. She's not exactly wrong.
  • Big Fun: She's ery energetic and playful, as well as very fat. She's also a GoodMother, Benevolent Boss and Affably Evil.
  • Faster Than They Look: She's surprisingly fast and nimble for someone of her stature.
  • Fog of Doom: She can produce miles of thick mist, that acts like a perfect place to hide and advance.
  • Hates Being Alone: Her greatest fear.
  • Hates Baths: She can handle the Circus of Terror Pinkie Pie has cooked for hr. But clean water and soap? That is where she draws the line.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Her horrific personal hygiene, she surrounds herself with very disturbing subordinates, whom she treats almost motherly. She also has a genuine crush on Grogar who makes all kinds of monsters. Pinkie proves to be too much to handle, however.
Hydia: Don’t try to intimidate me with a few creepy smiles, candy girl! I literally flirt with monsters for fun. Nothing you got in your bag of tricks that’s gonna scare ol’ Hydia!”

     9. Noveno Espada - Gilda

Gilda

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Rend, Bestia Herida! (Wounded Beast)
  • Acid Attack
  • Animal Motifs: Lions.
  • Blood Magic: In her Resurrección, she gains the ability to produce acidic blood. All in all it's real blood and be used as a catalyst for Gran Ray Cero.
  • Butt-Monkey: Things rarely go out for her, even after becoming Espada. She's humiliated, abused, or beaten up in almost every scene, she's in, and she has yet to win a fight.
  • Childhood Friends: With Greta. She even goes so far to call her a friend. In her mind, that is.
  • Child Soldiers: She along with other kids her age was recruited into an Army of Sixth Espada, where days consisted of constant training, near starvation, and battle to the death until only the strongest survived.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was an orphan in the harsh world of Hueco Mundo before she was recruited into Guto's army, where she went through gruesome training that if not completed, she was punished by beating and starvation. And their final task was a battle to the death where only one person will join the army properly. Things become better for her when she's a battle-hardened teenager and earns the position of an Espada. Though not much.
  • Father to His Men: Unlike Guto, she genuinely cares about the well-being of soldiers serving under her. It helps she used to be one of them.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's incredibly abrasive and confrontational, yet she genuinely cares about the soldiers under her command. After Everfree Arc this care extends to Fluttershy.
  • Positive Friend Influence: Fluttershy becomes this for her. She treats her with kindness and encourages her to become a better person.
  • You Kill It, You Bought It: He both defeats and devours Guto gaining his power and control over his Horde. She notes that Tirek will most like changer her Espada Number.

     10. Diez Espada - Grogar

Grogar

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Peel away; Locura (Madness)
  • Evilutionary Biologist: He repeatedly states that it is his ambition and destiny to be the one to guide Hollowkind to true evolutionary perfection, either by biological or cybernetic or magical means.
  • Green-Eyed Monster
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk
  • Maker of Monsters
  • Master of None: His modified Resurrección allows him to use a vast array of powers he had analyzed from other Hollows through centuries of experimentation None of which makes him particularly dangerous, but combined with his genius intellect makes a very versatile opponent.
  • Nerves of Steel: He rarely loses his cool attitude, preferring to quietly insult his opponents and allies instead. Not even an assassination attempt made him flinch.
  • Not So Stoic: That said, there are a few exceptions:
    • Hydia's amorous advances make him visibly shudder. He doesn't try or can't hide it.
    • Pinkie Pie. Just Pinkie Pie. While Grogar likes to bend Natural Laws, as a scientist, he has a deep respect for them. For Pinkie, on the other hand, the Laws of Physics are more like loose directions rather than strict rules, everything she does makes him furious.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Prior to the events of the story time he somehow managed to seriously wound Torch. Centuries later it still bothers him.
  • The Older Immortal: He's perhaps the oldest living Arrancar, even older than Tirek.
  • Professor Guinea Pig: He's not above using himself as a test subject to increase his powers. Although based on what is known of his personality, and the fact he resembles the worst of Mayuri and Szayelaporro Granz most of those test "improvements" were probably perfected on the unwilling first. Yin and Yang from Hunter and Hollows confirm it.
    • Averted with the replica of Adagio's siren gem. His first subject was Pharynx which didn't work out. After that Chrysalis forced him to use the next model.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Physically, he's not much for an Arrancar, but his intellect lets him keep up with stronger opponents. The same goes for his Resurrección powers. Individually, none of them is particularly impressive but their combination and his tactical genius make him a formidable adversary.
  • Villain Respect: He expresses some level of respect for Adagio for her sharp mind. Because he attributes her success thanks to his influence.
    • He also respects Natural Laws and it annoys him when Pinkie breaks them on a whim.

Fracción and Números

     Thorax

Thorax

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Drink deeply; Deseo (Desire)
Chrysalis' Trueborn son and her right-hand man.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: His careless attitude annoys Pharynx.
  • Depraved Bisexual: Averted. He presents himself as a loyal son of Chrysalis with her penhant for hedonism and has no problem with sleeping with both men, but he's a very moral person.
  • Healing Factor: Not as quick as Chrysalis' but still very potent.
  • Number Two: He effectively acts as a second-in-command to Chrysalis and often takes the lead over the Fracción whenever his mother is not available. He also disguises himself as her, so no one will notice her absence. It also gives him a bit of space to work against her.
  • Power Perversion Potential: A long tongue doesn't do much in a fight. In bed on the other hand...

     Pharynx

Pharynx

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Stand unwavering; Hijo Leal! (Loyal Son)
  • Big Brother Instinct: He's very protective of his sibling.
  • Blood Knight: His fights with Gaw and Fenice turn out more challenging than he had initially expected. He actually finds it more fun than aggravating. At least, until Fenice begun to gain upper hand.
  • The Big Guy: The biggest and physically strongest of Chrysalis' children.
  • Blind Obedience: He's the most devoted of Chrysalis' True Children. He's aware that things are more complicated than his mother tells him, but goes along with her orders anyway. His Resurrección is even called Loyal Son.
  • Combat Pragmatist: He has the honor to be amongst the few people that stopped their opponents from releasing their power. In his words there's no cheating, only the winner.
Di-Roy: H-hey! That’s cheating! You let Gaw do her thing, dammit!
Pharynx:That was because I was still evading the young lady’s threads. Also, there’s no cheating in battle, you fool. Just whoever is standing at the end.
  • Magic Knight: He shows an exceptional for an Arrancar finesse in controling his Reiatsu. It's so fine he can create solid Cero constructs like cages, bindings and spikes.
  • No Love for the Wicked: Unlike his mother and brother, he doesn't show any interest in sex or love.
  • Straight Man: He lacks his mother and brother's cunning, debauchery or other eccentricities. Rather, he chooses to address his issues immediately and in the most direct way.

     Ocellus

Ocellus

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección:???
  • Ambiguous Innocence: On one hand, she understands what her mother is doing is evil (she even explicitly called herself a monster), but at the same time she treats everything like a game.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: She shows a disturbing level of enthusiasm when it comes to killing, destruction, and general misbehaving. While it might be chalked to Chrysalis' influence, the amount of glee she shows makes her very troubling.

     Roka

Roka

Species: Arrancar
Zanpakutō : Dance in ecstasy; Telerana (Cobweb)
  • Big Brother Instinct: Since the beginning Roka had strong protective instincts, something that sets her apart from other Hollows.
  • Cool Big Sis: Before Lament came along, she was the only one that took pity over abandoned Arrancar Children. She provides, cooks, plays, and protects them with her life.
  • Happily Adopted: Life became much easier after Lament took her and other Arrancar Children under his protection and in return, she love him, just like her siblings love her. As Laments remains distant because of his mental state it's her to spend time with them.
  • I Owe You My Life: Her life and the lives of the children under her care used to be full of danger in the halls of Las Noches, and no doubt would eventually die if not for Lament to offer them a home and protection. In return, Roka is fiercely loyal to him.
  • Master of Threads
  • Nice Girl: The nicest Arrancar in existence. She's unfailingly polite, courteous empathetic, and caring, all traits very unusual for a Hollow. She even describes herself as a freak for being so compassionate.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Blue Oni to Fenice Red Oni. She's much more reserved, prudent, and reasonable than her sister, and acts as a diplomat and The Face of Lamentd's group.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: She's calm, level-headed, and prefers to talk things out while Fenice is hot-headed and prone to anger and violence.

     Fenice

Fenice

Species: Human (Fullbringer)/Soul Reaper and Arrancar hybrid
Fullbring : ???
  • Blood Knight: While she's concerned with her sister's critical state, Fenice is surprised at how much fun she has fighting a very one-sided battle with Pharynx. Then she notes how much happier she's been since in the last few months she had more fights than in the last few years. Like father like daughter.
  • Chain Pain: Her new weapon, Gleipnir (named after the binding that holds Fenrir) grants her the ability to produce golden bands of energy she can freely control and bind her opponents.
  • Dual Wielding
  • Half-Human Hybrid: It's eventually revealed that her mother was a renegade soul reaper and her father is an Arrancar.
  • Magma Man: Her Fulbring allows her to superheat stone around her until it melts, which she can use like it was water.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Red Oni to Roka Blue Oni. Passionate, guarded, impulsive, and acts as The Big Guy of Laments group.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: She's hot-headed, abrasive, and prone to anger and violence while Roka's calm, level-headed, and prefers to talk things out
  • Talking Weapon: The Phantom Blade, Glepnir, made by her mother Stellar Flare has a mind of its own and can communicate with Fenice directly to her mind. Apparently, it was or contains a fragment of Tyr's soul. It keeps nagging her for something to do, which annoys her.
  • Tragic Keepsake: The medallion that functions as her medium to summon her Fullbring is a gift from her late mother. It's also where Stellar Flare hid something called Phantom Blade; a talking sword Gleiphnir containing a piece of Tyr's soul.

     Ember

Ember

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Eviscerate; Espina! (Thorn)
  • Amazonian Beauty: Ember is noted to sport a very athletic physique with a hint of abs and a very punkish face.
  • Bash Brothers: With Garble. They bicker a lot and she finds him annoying, but she still sees him as a member of the pack and a friend. His death was a big hit to her.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Partially. Adagio uses her Compelling Voice to make her fight Garble instead of attacking Quincy cadets.
  • Easily Forgiven: Hesitates for a bit, but forgives Adagio for using her Magic on her because she formed a genuine friendship. Adagio promised to never do that.
  • Damsel in Distress: At the end of Hueco Mundo's invasion Luna and her Squad kidnap her, setting in motion the next arc.
  • Oblivious to Love: Garble seemingly has feelings for her, but she doesn't seem to realize it before his Heroic Sacrifice to save her.
  • One of the Boys: There are no other female Arrancars in Torch's Fraccion. It never stops them from treating her like one of them, and neither she feels out of place. However, she has expressed happiness for developing a friendship with Adagio, a very feminine character.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Blue Oni to Garbles Red Oni. Their color schemes even match it. She's more reasonable and calm than him), but also very straightforward and trusting, which can make her naive.
  • True Blue Femininity: Her hair and scales are blue colored and is the only woman in her Father's group. Other than that she's a Tomboy.
  • Women Are Wiser: The only girl in her group and much more reasonable and open to Adagio's unusual plans and even interspecies cooperation.

     Garble

Garble

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Explode, Despecho! (Spite)
  • Anger Born of Worry: His dislike for Adagio stems from his genuine worry about Ember. After she attacks him during a raid on Quincy's training grounds, something's not right about her. He's right to be worried.
  • Bash Brothers: An unpleasant person that he is, he genuinely cares about his comrades. Especially Ember. Later he even performs a Heroic Sacrifice to save her from Prim Hemline.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: He sacrifices himself to save Ember from Prim Hemline.
  • Jerkass to One: He's not a pleasant person to be around in general but especially dislikes Adagio. Not without a reason.
  • Out-of-Character Alert: Bicker they might a lot, attacking him in the middle of the ride is a very unsound action. It ticks him up that something's not right.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: More rude and hot Headed than Ember. In a twist, however, he is much more prone to use schemes and cunning to achieve his goals.

     Dumbbell, Hoops and Score

Dumbbell, Hoops and Score

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: ???
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: They are the dregs of Hueco society, so weak and pathetic none of the Fracción or other groups wanted them. Then Adagio provided them with food, jobs, and for the first time in their lives, respect. In return, they are willing to lay their lives (or worse) for her.
  • Those Two Guys: Those Three Guys. They are always together and honestly, they share the brain power.
  • Troll: They like to sneak into human houses, not to eat or attack them but spook them up. Apparently, plenty of ghost videos on the internet it's just them, messing with people.

     Di-roy

Di-Roy

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Laugh at death; Picaro! (Rogue)
  • Animal Motifs: Sharks.
  • Bash Brothers: With Gaw. They bicker, and Gaw casually bites him in almost every conversation, but they care for each other. They were like this before joining Adagio.
  • Canon Character All Along: That random Shark Hollow that Grogars sent to bring him the Heroes? That's Di-Roy before turning into Arrancar.
  • Threatening Shark: Subverted. He's definitely dangerous and not stranger to violence but he's just the chillest guy to be around.

     Greta

Greta

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Tear through the storm; Cernicalo! (Kestrel)
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Her feather blades cut through Gilda's Hierro like a hot knife through butter. In Gilda's words, there's no armor or Hierro that Greta can not cut through.
  • Childhood Friends: With Gilda.
  • Cyborg: Courtesy of Grogar, her Resurrección has been modified to turn into this. It turns her bone wings into metal, adds jet boosters onto her shoulders, and hoss that go into her sides. She says she agreed to be modified after Gilda's never checking on her after Everfree Arc.
  • Energy Absorption: Mixed with Deflector Shields. Her feathers can be suspended in the air and reflect Ceros with a twist that the reflected attack is stronger. They can be reflected between many of those, greatly increasing their destructive powers.
  • Forgotten Fallen Friend: Deconstructed hard. Just because you forget about the fallen friend doesn't mean, they will forget about you. This happens to Greta during the events of Everfree Arc. While Gilda was dealing with Fluttershy, Greta's been put out of the fight. Once the fight's been wrapped up Gilda never bothered to check if her oldest friend was alright. Gets worse when it turns out Thorax has drugged and impersonated her, and Gilda's never noticed. All of this makes her, rightfully so, feel abandoned and betrayed. All of which prompts her to get retaliate on Gilda, even going so far be augumented by Grogar.
  • Harping on About Harpies: What her Resurrección turns her into. Her arms transform into wings lined with razor-sharp, bone-white (now lined with metal) feathers while her feet end in bird talons.
  • Lamarck Was Right: Her Resurrección looks much like Guto's. The guy even ordered Grogar to give her jets making the similarity even more obvious.
  • Morality Pet: Downplayed. Just because Gilda cares for Greta doesn't mean she's any nicer to anyone else. It does however shows that under the rough exterior, she has a heart. She even goes so far to call her a friend. In her mind.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: A Spirit cyborg Harpy.
  • Rank Up: She takes the place of Guto's captain after Gilda becomes an Espada.
  • Vibroweapon: Grogar's improvements make the feathers and spikes on her feet vibrate adding to their Absurdly Sharp Blade status.

Species: Hollow/Half-Arrancar

Urchin-Octopus Hollow

Species: Hollow

Mantis-Snake Hollow

Species: Hollow
  • Combat Pragmatist: She knows she has no chance of defeating two Soul Reapers in a fair fight, so she opts to overwhelm them with Lesser hollows and blinds Clover with an eyes irritating mist.
  • Dragged Off to Hell: Her defeat serves as a showcase of what happens when Konsō is used on people that committed horrible crimes.
  • Fog of Doom: She can create clouds of noxious fumes that irritate her opponents' eyes, making them blind.
  • Jerkass: She admits that when she was alive she wasn't the best person.

Former Espada

     9. Squirk
Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Coil tightly; Shibaru Hebi! (Binding Serpent)
  • Combat Pragmatist
  • Only Sane Man: He points out how ineffective it is of the Espadas to fight solo and that they should instead team up to gain an edge.
  • Thinking Up Portals: Every Hollow has an innate ability to summon portala to Hueco Mundo, but special mentions go to Squirk. Unlike other Hollows, he can summon as many Gargantas as he desires whenever and wherever he wants, and while regular hollows can only move between Hollow and Living World, he can move from place to place within the realms. Even Wards especially designed to prevent Gargantas can't stop him. After Adagio kills him, she gains this power. She can even attach them to people to summon them.
  • Weak, but Skilled: He's quite weak for the Espada, even having trouble with only one Quincy Sternritter, but his ability to Weaponize portals gives him an Edge, and even if he had been demoted off the ranks he still would have been kept around because of the usefulness of his power.
  • Weaponized Teleportation: He's the only one who can use Gargantas effectively in battle. It's a trait that earned him the position of the Espada.

     10. Smooze

Smooze

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: Spread unstoppably; Pestilencia! (Pestilence)
  • Adaptational Intelligence: While his cannon incarnations were portrayed with minimum intelligence, Hollow Smooze is fully sapient and capable of thought and rudimentary speech.
  • Almighty Janitor: His official number is 10, but he could easily be higher. The only reason he isn't is that he doesn't possess any aspiration to.
  • And I Must Scream: His specific nature causes him extreme pain. Every second of his life is torture, to the point he has trouble forming cohesive thoughts.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: He swears loyalty to Fluttershy after she selflessly healed and protected him from Gilda.
  • Blob Monster: Under his clothes, he's just a mass of noxious ooze clinging to a skeleton. His clothes must be hermetically sealed to prevent poisoning everything around him.
  • From a Single Cell: While his Healing Factor isn't as fast as Chrysalis', as long as even the tiniest bit of him remains, he'll sooner or later regenerate.
  • Healing Factor: He's capable of regenerating as long as even the tiniest scrap, or at least the core of his Blob Monster body, remains intact, though Grogar is of the opinion he's not so much regenerating as replacing his lost mass. As such, nobody on the Espada's side really believes he dies from Lightning Dust's Death or Glory Attack and figures he went off to recover. As it turns out, he did survive, though circumstances meeting Fluttershy dictate he decides to take a new career path.
  • Humble Goal: He really has no ambition to conquer, fight or even consume anyone, and cares little for any material goods. He just wishes for the pain to stop so he can enjoy life's simple pleasures.
  • I Owe You My Life: He pledges his servitude and undying loyalty to Fluttershy after she cures (most of) his pain. She would rather be friends.
  • Nice Guy: Surprisingly. Easily the least confrontational of all the Espada. Once you get past the fact he's a horrible abomination made of Hungry spirits and the worst diseases imaginative, he's a pretty polite and friendly guy. He doesn't even seem to hold a grudge against Gilda after she tried to kill him at his weakest.
  • Poisonous Person: Literally. He's nothing but the most toxic, contagious, and painful diseases known to spiritual fused together and developing consciousness. He must be kept in special hazmat suits or he wouldn't poison anyone around him, enemies or allies.
  • Power Incontinence: While his own powers can't kill him, it doesn't mean he won't suffer from all the pain they cause, either. He also needs to wear special clothes or he'll poison his allies.
  • Required Secondary Powers: As mentioned above she's a disease and poison incarnate. While it can't kill him, that doesn't make him immune to the pain.
  • Terse Talker: His speech is very rudimentary. He gets much more articulate after Fluttershy starts healing him.
  • Token Good Teammate: To the Espada. He's one of the nicest if not the nicest one. He never expresses the desire to hurt anyone, unless ordered by Tirek and even provides his fellow Arrancars with goods they can't get on their own, for a reasonable price.
  • Worf Had the Flu: His fight with Lightning Dust has left him severely weakened, enough for even lesser hollows to kill him if given a chance.

QUINCY

     In General
  • Magikarp Power
  • Proud Warrior Race Guy: Quincy is a Militaristic nation and takes great pride in their fight against both Hollows and Soul Reapers.
    • Exemplified when Nightlight gives Twilight the choice to either join them or leave Cantelot City. It's obvious that he was proud that she's chosen to join them.
  • Stronger with Age: Goes for their entire species as a whole. With each generation, the individual Quincys grow stronger.

He's the reason Quinct troops fight like a well-oiled machine.

     D - Lightning Dust

Lightning Dust

Species: Quincy
Weapon: Boomerang
Schrift: The Daredevil
  • Death Seeker: She's not suicidal per see, she's just so addicted to the thrill that she keeps putting herself in danger. Her Shrift reflects that - The bigger the danger she's in, the stronger she becomes. As such, she simply can't imagine herself surviving old age and looks for A Good Way to Die. She doesn't want Hoity to heal because she considers not living up to the fullest a Fate Worse than Death.
  • A Good Way to Die: She considers her mutual kill with Tenth Espada as it. In the end, she was battered, barely alive, and immense in pain from all the broken bones and poison plaguing her body, but is happy nonetheless as it was a really awesome way to die. What other Sternritter can boast defeating an Espada one-on-one?! She actually tells Hoity Toity that he ruined it by saving her.

     L - Cadence

Cadence

Species: Quincy
Weapon: Crossbow
Schrift: The Lust
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Her shrift can install in people's desire to please Cadance to the point of obsession, even turning close allies into enemies if that's what Cadance wishes. Not the kind of power you would expect from a sweet woman like Cadance, though she has shown a rather disturbingly ruthless side to her. She's aware of how ugly her Shrift can get if she uses it irresponsibly.
  • Expy: Her powers are an obvious reference to Pepe Waccabrada. They even have the same letter. In everything else, however, they couldn't be more different.
  • Hidden Depths: She's not a half-bad cook.
  • Pregnant Badass: She's a powerful Sternritter skilled enough to fight an Espada one on one, which is rare for Quincy. Granted, her pregnancy is still in the early stage, and the only reason she knows about it is that Sapphire used her powers on her. She's worried that she won't be able to do her duties once Shining finds out. It becomes a bit of deconstruction later as while she still can handle herself in a fight relatively well, she and everyone else keep worrying about the child, no matter the situation, making her worries true.

  • Blood Knight: Fleur is a particularly bloodthirsty individual. While other troops are nervous before the upcoming battle at Hueco Mundo, she's practically giddy at the prospect.
  • Covered with Scars
  • Expy: An attractive, sadistic woman with a short fuse, destructive power, and unexplored Hidden Depths? We're talking about Fleur or Bambieta?
  • Fantastic Racism: Quincy already hates Hollows, but even by their standards, she's exceptionally eager to murder them all. Reapers are no better in her book.
  • Hot-Blooded: While normally calm, she absolutely loses it when someone wounds her. Shining had to stop her from demolishing the whole City after Sunset burned her.

She says that they are real windows she can put on surfaces or even in the air, and can be used as both ways of communication. They can also be used as portals for quick transportation.

Hell

     In general
  • Genius Loci: There have been repeated hints that the realm itself has a sort of sapience to it. Fluttershy compares it to a giant Zanpakutō: when trying to stop it from dragging Rarity in, and Typhon latter claims to have listened to Hell to learn its secrets, referring to Hell as "her".
  • Holy Halo: Subverted. When Hollows are condemned to Hell, their Hollow holes separate from their body and form rings around their bodies.
  • The Power of Hate: A Sinner can gain powers in Hell if their hatred is strong enough.

     Cozy Glow

Cozy Glow

Species: Human?(Sinner)
Hell Power: Chains of Hell
  • Ambiguously Human: According to her, she was born in Hell, putting into question if she really is human.
  • Ambiguous Innocence: There's no doubt that the girl is not innocent at all. When it comes to her past, it becomes murky. How did a girl no older than twelve end up in Hell? A mistake, did Zero Division intentionally condemn her to Hell, just like Sunburst, or does she really deserve to be there for doing something unthinkable? No matter the answer, if she had any innocence, to begin with, it's long gone.
    • She later claims to have been born in Hell, but the details on that, assuming that it's true, are still fuzzy.
  • Blood Knight: She has an absolute blast slaughtering Typhon's forces and expresses petulance when being taken away from them. She later promises Sunburst, she'll flay him if he deas it, again.
  • Chain Pain: Her Sinner power allows her the ability to control her Hell chains and use them as weapons.
  • Little Miss Badass: She has the body of a little child, yet she not only survives in Hell, she thrives in there.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: She has a very rich vocabulary.
Cozy Glow: Eat a thousand chainsaw dicks, assmunch!

  • Half-Human Hybrid: It's eventually revealed that his mother was a renegade soul reaper and his father is an Arrancar.

     Typhon

Typhon

Species: Arrancar(Sinner)
Hell Power:???
  • Adaptational Wimp: Traditionally, Typhon is a humungous Eldritch Draconic Abomination capable of challenging the whole Greek Pantheon. In the story, he's only a very powerful Arrancar, somewhere in Tirek's weight class.
  • Animal Motifs: Snakes. His mask (or remnants of it) looks like a part of a snake skull and is dressed in snake skins.
  • Body Horror: He can spawn snakeheads from the growths on his back. His whole body later stretches out to spawn snake-like humanoids.
  • Combat Tentacles: The snakes from his back serve as this. He can control them at will and make them bite and contort like tentacles.
  • Mook Maker: Besides being a powerful individual, Typhon has the ability to spawn reptilian creatures, that act as shock troops. And the speed he can spawn them is terrifying; he quickly outnumbers Rarity's soldiers.
  • Orochi: He can spawn an infinite amount of snakes from his back. If cut off they don't die right away.
  • Snake People: He's less of an Arrancar and more of a snake creature. His body is covered in tiny scales, has very sharp fangs and his behaviour and movements bring to mind an animal than a human.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Glory doesn't mention what happened to him after their Coup. Turns out he had been sent to Hell where he remains to this day.
  • Villain Forgot to Level Grind: Defied. He had millennia to train and perfect his Sinner powers.

     Cerberus

Cerberus

Species: Arrancar(Sinner)
Hell Power:???
  • Adaptation Distillation: In Greek Mythology Cerberus is a large Three-headed dog. Here while still having three heads they're an arrancar with a human build and posture.
  • The Big Guy: They're taller than Tirek an already huge guy.
  • Multiple Head Case: They have three heads, like Cerberus. Apparently, they were once three bother joined together by their bloodlust.
  • Mutants: In contrast to other Hollows he sports three different holes, arranged in his lower stomach, each for every head.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Glory doesn't mention what happened to them after their Coup. Turns out they had been sent to Hell where they remains to this day.

     Ahgg

Ahgg

Species: Fomorian(Sinner)
  • Adaptational Intelligence: He was mostly obedient to Hydia beast in G1. Here he's human intelligence.
  • The Blacksmith: He personally dug out and forged his own tools like a shovel, a pick the size of a human, and a lantern. He says Iron Ores can be found if you know where to look for.
  • Crazy Survivalist: He has elements of this, and is rather unpleasant. In his own admission, he's one of the least respectable around. He lives outside of the Sinner City and often travels down to lower, more dangerous levels. He's also the only one with proper metal tools in Hell.
  • Cyclops: Has a single red eye.
  • Giant Spider: He resembles a giant spider.
  • The Hermit: He lives outside of the Sinner City in a hut of his own making. Even made a little sign with Trespassers will be donating future construction materials! written on it and in his own words, he hates leaving his hut.
  • Human Resources: Like all Sinners, he only has bodies as a material to work with. In his case, he uses the bones of Sinners to build his home. What sets him apart, however, are tools made out of actual metal.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: He has four legs and four arms. Only two of them end with human-ish hands instead of spikes.
  • Our Giants Are Bigger: He's a Fomorian. While big, he looks less like a giant and more like a weird spider creature with four arms and legs, black skin, a mouth filled with tusks, and a single red eye.
  • Work Off the Debt: Cozy promises to clear his debt if he helps Rarity get through Lower Levels. He's stumped by the offer because in Hell there's nothing for free.

     Sebastian/ Jack The Reaper

Sebastian

Species: Human(Sinner)
Hell Power: Fog
  • Card-Carrying Villain: He is well aware of his reputation as history's most infamous serial killer and is not afraid to admit to it or that he deserves to be in Hell.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: He considers the moniker Jack The Ripper embarrassing and overly dramatic.
  • Evil Brit: He's the most famous Serial Killer in the history of British and perhaps the World.
  • Historical Domain Character: The Jack the Ripper.
  • Fog of Doom: Visually he creates a dense fog that swallows and transports whatever or whoever he wants whenever he wants. He mentions other uses for it.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: He wears a real suit and carries a fancy cane with a silver head. It makes him stand out in a Realm where the best you can hope for are human hides
  • Retired Monster: He says so. In his words, he has no interest in murder anymore and prefers to be a simple businessman.
  • Teleportation: Using his fog, he can easily translocate from place to place. He can go wherever he wants as long it is in hell.

  • Little Bit Beastly: Her human form has her arms covered in feathers
  • Making a Splash: She summons rain to heal people.
  • The Medic: Besides her Healing Rain, she also knows how to make a brew that neutralizes the effects of the mushrooms that Rainbow ate.

     Asena

Asena

  • Animal Jingoism: She finds cats capable hunters but inferior to Wolves.
  • Blood Knight: She gets thrills tearing hordes of troglodytes with her teeth. She also believes that the only thing that would make Monopoly better are Honor Duels.
  • Declaration of Protection: She promises that as warrior and mother, she'll escort Cadence and her unborn child back to the Human realm. Cadence is momentarily taken aback by the declaration but is grateful.
  • Extra-ore-dinary: He uses her Hide Anima to transform her fur into metal blades.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Well, not little. While she can transform into a human, it's not a perfect disguise. Details like sharp teeth and fuzzy, pointy ears remain.
  • Mundane Object Amazement: She's taken a liking to Monopoly. She calls it 'A game of Territorial battle and resource acquisition'.
  • Noble Wolf: She's a wolf from Turkic Mythology (Oghuz Turkic, to be specific). In her myth, she finds an injured young boy who survived a battle and nurses him back to health. Despite being as big as Simurgh, she's shown to be nothing but polite and respectful..

Niflheim

Water Tribe

    Jörmungandr

Jörmungandr

Species: Divine Beast/Snake
  • Actually Pretty Funny: Sunset calls him Jormungag. He's the only one that laughed at it.
  • Ax-Crazy: He has enough control to not attack right away but it's obvious he craves violence.
  • Big Brother Bully: He and Hel don't have the most healthy relationship. The prospect of meeting him again is enough for her to have a near-panic attack. He's also the one that killed Fenrir.
  • Blood Knight: Has a lust for battle, and wishes for glory in the battles of Ragnarok.
  • Draconic Abomination: This description fits him better than The Great Serpent. His true form is a massive dragon-like entity, complete with arms, legs, and four wings covered with horns, spines, and barbed scales all over his body.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: An Omnicidal Maniac he is, he forbids Ofridr from using the corpses of his comrades. He's cool with using every else's however.
  • Fangs Are Evil
  • Faux Affably Evil: He never raises his voice, holds from attacking the crew, offers to leave peacefully if they give him his sister, and even suggests an alliance against Zero Division. All the while radiating hostility and violence and other most unpleasant vibes. And then he admits he hoped they would deny him so he could attack them.
  • Fighting a Shadow: He can't enter Midgard or Asgard realms, at least until Ragnarök starts. He works around it by projecting a solid avatar. It's way weaker than his true form and devours a high amount of energy. However, he's still an equal match with Sunset using her Shikai. It also makes him immune to Cadance shrift.
  • Holy Burns Evil: Simurgh's healing rain cause burns him.
  • Knight Templar: He genuinely believes that destroying the World is neither Evil nor tragic but a natural way of how things should go.
  • Master of All: Unlike everyone in the Beast Realmers, he has no particular affinity for any type of Anima, instead being the master of all of them. He is the only known currently living case.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: he can form 8 truly giant dragon claws forged from Anima.
  • Mythology Gag: He summons a pair of giant eagle wings to shield himself. It might be a reference to the eagle Hraesvelgr that resides at the top of the Yggdrasil.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: He wants to destroy Yggdrasil, which would cause the cycle of reincarnation to cease. While he's right in that Glory's alterations to the world tree likely need to be undone, and that the tree will die on its own eventually, he refuses to accept any alternative method besides destroying it, simply assuming from the legends that the tree will be reborn, not that he seems to care of that as long as he gets to go out in glory in Ragnarok.
  • Villain Respect: For all his smugness and bloodlust, he admits having a level of respect for Sunset and the Crew for all they accomplished in the few months.
  • Worthy Opponent: He sees Sunset as one after their brief skirmish in the Midgard. He advises his Einherjars to leave her to him since he's the best suited to deal with her.

     Nidhögg

Nidhögg

Species: Dragon

     Ofridr

Ofridr

Species: Fossegrim
  • Fauns and Satyrs: Ofridr is Fossegrim, a water spirit or a Troll in Norse Mythology. He has the legs of a goat and a torso of a gaunt man, but also horns on his head and hourglass eyes.
  • Loophole Abuse: Jörmungandr forbids him from using the corpses of those loyal to Niflheim. He interprets it as those loyal to him, so Ofridr goes around it by using the remains of those who were loyal to the previous Tribe Chef, Leviathan.
  • Magic Music: He uses his violin, to channel his magic.
  • Meaningful Name: In Old Nordic, his name translates to things like war, hostility, and battle.
  • Necromancer: He stands out in the setting as a person who can animate the corpses of his enemies. He can also preserve their souls effectively turning them into Draugrs with their memories and skills.
  • Red Baron: After centuries of war, Ofridr earned a lot of titles. In Nifheim he is known as "Thousand Wails of the Dead" for his Violin can mimic the wails of the dead, and his ability to control them. In Alfheim, he's known as "Lifebane" after destroying two of their clans. However, his favorite title is the one he gave himself - Dirge Singer.
  • Worthy Opponent: He has a deep respect for the Nereids as skilled singers and for giving him the fight of his life. Like Sonata, he wouldn't have been mad if they killed him instead.

     Amaru

Amaru

Species: Chimera (Arctic Fox/Puma/Condor)
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Amaru. She's an amalgamation of three (actually four) animals. An arctic fox (paws), black-furred puma (body), and an aged, wrinkled condor (wings). Each part is also represented with a matching head. Fox seems to be in charge being the one to speak the most, while Puma and Condor mostly shout short comments. Her tail is also covered in green scales like a snake.

     G’nash

G’nash

Species: Ice Troll
  • Blood Knight: He recalls fighting B'grandfather Burincleave fondly and looks forward to fighting his great-grandson once he gets stronger. The feeling's mutual.
  • Friendly Enemy: He and Brogensmasher . Their goals do not align and even go against each other but they still maintain a cordial relationship. He even allows him access to his fortress and requests for a private audience with Brogensmasher. He had the same relationship with his great-grandfather.
  • Hidden Depths: Well, not hidden. He's very vocal about his desire to become the best culinarian in Nifelheim.
  • Lethal Chef: Amaru says his stew (made out of sentient boars, since she played dice with them) tastes like gravel. G’nash in return accuses her of being picky.
  • Living Is More than Surviving: Inverted. He loves living but finds death breathing down his neck giving meaning to his life. That's why he aligned with Jörmungandr.

     The Neredis

Adagio, Aria and Sonata

Species: Nereids/Undead(Draugr)
A trio of warriors that used to serve the former Water chef, Leviathan. While dead, their bodies have been preserved and resurrected by Einherjar Ofridr.
  • Amazonian Beauty: They are athletic versions of their Equestrian Counterparts wearing little to no clothing, which showcases their bodies on display. Aria is the most Amazonian of them.
  • Attractive Zombie: They look like more muscular Dazzling with blue eyes. Of course, they are attractive!
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Sonata's as chirpy and optimistic as Siren Sonata, but under that positivity is a bloodthirsty killer. Heck, she thanks her killer for resurrecting her so she can kill more people.
  • Fish People: Their bodies are human but covered with scales. Their faces also have some fish attributes while still being beautiful.
  • Might Makes Right: Sonata's cool with Jörmungandr. calling the shots, because he beat Leviathan fair and square. She even isn't mad at Ofridr for killing her.
  • Revenant Zombie: They are Draugr, which means they retain their minds and abilities, but they are bound to the one who resurrected them. Also while their bodies remain as they were, their eyes turn into icy blue.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Unlike her Sisters, Sonata puts an air of childish innocence, but who knows her, knows she's the most lethal of the Nereids. She even has a fan and wears silk instead of armor like her sisters.
  • Sinister Scythe: Adagio wields an obsidian scythe wrapped in shark skin.
  • Token Evil Teammate: While Siren Sonata qualifies as Token Good Teammate, Nereid Sonata is a bloodthirsty killer. Disturbingly, besides that, they seem to be identical in personality.

     Chieftan Proudfang

Chieftan Proudfang

     Brogensmasher Allhammer

Brogensmasher Allhammer

Species: Dwarf

  • Friendly Enemy: He and G'nash. Their goals do not align and even go against each other but they still maintain a cordial relationship. He even allows him access to his fortress and requests for a private audience with Brogensmasher.
  • Ultimate Blacksmith: Like all Dwarves, but even amongst them his family is known for their skills at working Orichalcum.

Independent Characters

     Wallflower Blush

Wallflower Blush

Species: God
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: In Myths, Hel is described as Two-Faced; half of her is a living woman, the other half an emaciated corpse. Here, she's either looks like a normal shy and cute Wallflower or a muscular version of her. Both attrective in their own way.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Her first POV chapter begins with her dropping her desire to get back at Sunset after witnessing her risking her life at Camp Everfree.
  • Ambiguously Human: She looks human enough, but when Ravana has found her in the Beast Realm, he seemingly had no personality and might have not physically aged a day since he found her. Medley also notes that the wounds she had inflicted on her would kill any normal human. When her memories are returned, she turns out to be the goddess Hel.
  • Amnesiac God: She's actually Goddess Hel, whose powers and memories has been sealed of in Memory Stone. Unaware of her true nature Sunset and her friends helped her regain her memories. Only for now very confused and angry Physical God attack them.
  • Apocalypse Maiden: Details are sparse, but she's apparently crucial in killing Yggdrasil.
  • Bilingual Bonus: Upon regaining her memories Wallflower/Hel starts speaking in the Norse language. It is presented by her sentences being written in Nordic Runesnote , yet the characters can make out a few words and names like Loki or Hel.
Wallflower:ᚹᚺᚨᛏ ᛈᛟᚹᛖᚱ ᛁᛋ ᛏᚺᛁᛋ ᛁ ᛋᛖᚾᛋᛖ? ᛗᛟᚱᛏᚨᛚᛋ ᚺᚨᚡᛖ ᚾᛖᚡᛖᚱ ᛒᛖᛖᚾ ᚨᛒᛚᛖ ᛏᛟ ᚹᛁᛏᚺᛋᛏᚨᚾᛞ ᚨ ᛒᛚᛟᚹ ᚠᚱᛟᛗ ᚨ ᚷᛟᛞ ᛒᛖᚠᛟᚱᛖ!note
Wallflower:ᚷᛖᛏ ᚤᛟᚢᚱ ᚺᚨᚾᛞᛋ ᛟᚠᚠ ᛟᚠ ᛗᛖ, ᚤᛟᚢ ᚲᚱᛖᛏᛁᚾᛋ! ᛁ ᚨᛗ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛞᚨᚢᚷᚺᛏᛖᚱ ᛟᚠ ᛚᛟᚴᛁ! ᛁ ᚨᛗ ᚺᛖᛚ!note
  • Blank Slate: In Fenice's memories, she was just that. It's unknown when she developed her personality.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Apparently, Glory has stolen a big part of her powers, leaving her with only a fraction of what she had. She's still not a person to be defeated easily.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She made a very quick appearance in the Camp Everfree arc as one of the victims of the chaos.
  • Expy: At first, it looked like she was an Expy of Sienna, even having her own plot involving loft memories, but she is in fact Hel.
  • Foreshadowing: We are told her living address is at the cemetery and she spends her time there when not living at other people's houses. Turns out she's Hel, the Norse Goddess of Death.
  • Horrifying the Horror: She's a Goddess of Death and a Powerful Necromancer, but the presence of Blanks is enough to make shake in fear. Perhaps because she knew what was coming next.
  • Identity Amnesia: She can remember her name, but anything else is a black hole. She can't even remember her time under Stellar Flare's care. It turns out even her name is fake. She's actually Hel.
  • Life Drinker: Her basic ability is to absorb Life Energy not only from people and plants but can also absorb energy attacks directed at her, making her almost untouchable. She uses it to make her attacks stronger.
  • Misplaced Retribution: She feels like she needs to get back at Sunset, but she can't tell why. She used to live with Human Sunset/Fenice suggesting her anger is actually on her, than the Pony version.
  • Nice Guy: She wishes she could repay Sunset and her friends after they offer to help her understand who she is, or at least that she wouldn't be a burden. She knows what the girls and the Coalition do is important and feels guilty for taking their time away.
  • Physical God: Is actually an amnesiac Hel.
  • Shrinking Violet: She's as meek and submissive as in her introductory movie. Averted with her Hel persona.
  • Solid Clouds: She creates dark clouds of smoke to fly.
  • The Spook: Where she lives, where she did come from, who and where are her parents? How did she enter Cantelot High School? Where does she live (Her adress in the school base leads to a cementary)? No one can tell. Neither Discord with his connections with every major Faction, neither Wing Bind with their international influence can figure out her origins.
  • Split Personality: Wallflower is actually a new personality Hel's mind developed after having her memories suppressed. And since regaining her old memories, Hel is in control, but she expresses annoyance that the meek, Weak-Willed girl has enough power to try and resurface.
  • Translator Microbes: she can cast a spell and translates her words to others
  • Walking Wasteland: Her life drinking ability sucks the life out of the plants around her making them wilt and die. Her attacks have the same effect, even before reaching her target.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Averted. Unlike her cannon self, she recognizes that Sunset has truly changed and drops her plans for revenge.

     Stellar Flare

Stellar Flare

Species: Human/Soul Reaper
  • The Blacksmith: She's responsible for forging Phantom Blades.
  • The Smart Guy: She created Phantom Blades and found a way for a Gigai body to bear children. Something even Discord didn't how to do.
  • Soul Power: Her Phantom Blades are created by using Souls of the Gods.

     Ravana

Ravana

Species: Arrancar
Zanpakutō:???
  • Retired Monster: He used to be one of Tirek's Warbosses, but at some point, he decided to settle down with Stellar Flare and have two kids with her.
  • Pet the Dog: He's the one that rescued Hel/Wallflower from Jörmungandr. The reason he did it was because he couldn't stomach what he did to her.

     Tempest Shadow

Tempest Shadow

Species: Soul Reaper
Zanpakutō : Hold the line; Hagane-hei! "Steel Soldier" (Shikai)/ Oniyama Hagane-hei. "Steel Soldier of the Demon Mountain" (Bankai)
  • Failure Knight: She genuinely wants to do what's best for the sake of the people under her command and protection, but it's like she can't achieve anything important without a huge body count.
    • Before the story even started, she and her Division ended up stranded in Hueco Mundo, eventually being decimated by Tirek. She intended to pull a Heroic Sacrifice so her troops could escape. It didn't work. She would have died with them if not for Storm King.
    • After that she made for herself a new life forming a genuine friendship with Grubber, becoming a parental figure to Yin and Yang, and helping to create a functional Hollow community. Too bad all of it was Storm King's ruse to harvest energy of everyone under her command. Ultimately everyone close to her (with the exception of Yin and Yang) died, rendering her effort All for Nothing.
  • Honor Before Reason: She's quite reasonable, but she takes I Gave My Word very seriously, even to go against Storm King, because she made a promise to Monster X that nothing bad would happen to his comrades.

     Yin and Yang

Yin and Yang

Species: Arrancar
Resurrección: ???

     Cantelot High School Students

Lyra

Species: Human

Derpy

Species: Human (Maybe?)

  • Ambiguous Situation: Reigai can't have children, and yet she exists. No explanation for that so far.
  • Heroic Bastard: The specifics of Ditzy and Time Turner's relationship are unclear. They are in love, that's for sure, with Ditzy wishing he would spend more time with Derpy. Sunset herself is not certain if Turner is Ditzy's husband or Baby Daddy. However, no matter what Derpy herself is definitely a very friendly and heroic person.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Ditzy didn't want to trouble her with the knowledge about the Hollows and other Spiritual beings. Derpy could see them for some time but said nothing, out of respect for her mum.

Diamond Tiara

Species: Human/ Quincy
  • Daddy's Girl: He adores Filthy.
  • Hidden Depths: She takes great pride in being Rich (as Rich's daughter, not her status) and saves up money to start her own business.

Silver Spoon:

Species: Human/ Quincy

     Wing Bind Organisation

In General

  • Adaptation Distillation: In Bleach Wing Band is the western branch of Soul Society. Here's its own thing established by humans.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: They've been actively and efficiently fighting off J dragon forces in Europe.
  • Our Witches Are Different
  • Weak, but Skilled: The organization as a whole. Its members lack the raw power of the Big 3 Factions, but their influence reaches the furthest in the living world, with the exceptions of the Quincy. They stay away from the big fights with Reapers, Quincy, and Arrancars but have enough strength to fight Dragons.

Members

Windy Whistles

Species: Human (Witch)
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Since Firefly was written before Windy's proper appearance in the show she's not Rainbow's mother (It's Firefly) but her aunt instead. She however spent a lot of time with Dash and Bowhoof effectively taking the same role as in the show. It's also obvious she and Bowhoof have feeling for each other.
  • Lady in a Power Suit

Octavia

Species: Human (Witch)

Vinyl

Species: Human (Witch)

Bon Bon

Species: Human (Witch)

    Blanks
  • Loss of Identity: Blanks are souls that had their memories and personalities erased until nothing but a mass of reiatsu in humanoid form remained.
  • The Power of Creation: Blanks can be forged into objects. The Cult of Jörmungandr takes full advantage of this ability. He demonstrates this by turning a few into a sword. It is considered a forbidden technique only used by Jörmungandr and those who follow him. When a troglodyte uses it tips Asena and S that they are in some way connected to him.
  • Underworld River: They float around the roots of Yggdrasil until they a born anew. Simurgh even calls it "the river of the cycle".

     Hōgyoku
  • Ambiguous Situation: How exactly it works is a mystery so far. Nebulously, its power has been described as absorbing and evolving energy or "breaking the barriers between the souls".
  • Divergent Character Evolution: There are currently two in the world. The one in Starlight's possession is the first prototype, which she's spent years working on, and which she carries inside herself. Discord meanwhile created a perfected another version, which he tuned up to the girls. They both absorb energy and amplify their users but while Starlights only work with her, Discord's strengthens multiple people at once, even when they are directly around. Word of God, it increases the power of the group the more of them are near it.
  • MacGuffin: The protagonists have it, but Sunset simply carries it around and hopes for the best. It is an object of desire for Starlight who intends to gather more power with it, she has her own however. Zero Division doesn't seem to take it, but its creation gathered enough interest to Discor whom they offered to serve directly under them.
  • Unique Protagonist Asset: As the story progresses and magic becomes more common amongst the factions, Amplifier Artifact takes its place.
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: Word of God, one its functions is to mix soul energies, even those not compatible with each other.
