Camp Crystal Lake

    Alice

Alice Hardy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/AliceHardy_4855.jpg
Poor Alice, she only survived to die after a Cat Scare.

Played By: Adrienne King

Appearances: Friday the 13th (1980) | Friday the 13th Part 2

"The boy... Is he dead too?"

Alice was one of the counselors who was hired for the restoration of Camp Crystal Lake. A talented artist, it was also implied that she had an affair with camp's current owner Steve Christy. She was forced to kill Pamela Voorhees when she revealed to her that she was responsible for all the misfortune the camp had gone through the past years and attacked her. Afterwards, she would have a very prophetic nightmare of Jason attacking her...

The girl who kills Mrs. Voorhees in the 2009 reboot's opening may or may not be Alice.

  • Action Survivor: Alice managed to survive Pamela's rampage through ingenuity and determination, even managing to slay the killer. Jason doesn't give her the same opportunity.
  • Decoy Protagonist: Of Part 2. Due to Adrienne King's agent asking for more money than they could afford for her, her character had to be essentially written out as fast as possible.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After being terrorized and physically assaulted by Mrs. Voorhees, Alice strikes back by beheading the killer.
  • Final Girl: She has the high honor of being the first in a long line of Friday the 13th heroines. Rare in the fact that she smokes marijuana, takes part in naughty strip games, was having an offscreen affair with the head counselor, but still manages to make it to the end.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Jason kills her with the ice pick she had grabbed when she thought someone had broken in.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Her surname came from spin-off material.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Sure, she managed to stop Pamela's little spree. The crazy old lady may be gone, but now her unstoppable zombie killing machine of a son gets brought into the picture because of her death.
  • Never Found the Body: Because Jason took it with him.
  • Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome: She also has the dubious honor of being victim number one in Jason's bodycount.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Her killing Pamela via machete is what causes Jason to follow in his mother’s footsteps in the sequels.
  • Word of Saint Paul: According to Adrienne King in the retrospective documentary made, she believes Alice was an art major with a minor in psychology. She believes that if Alice had til the end of summer to think things over, maybe something might have developed between her and Mr. Christy, but even if things didn't go awry, she doesn't think Steve would have had the patience she needed.

    Marcie

Marcie Cunningham

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/350px_marcie_2___edited.png

Played By: Jeannine Taylor

Marcie was one of the counselors who was hired for the restoration of Camp Crystal Lake. She was the sixth victim of the film.

  • Dreaming of Things to Come: Marcie mentions having a recurring nightmare since she was a little girl. In her dream, there is a storm, but the rain turns to blood. A grown-up Marcie is still afraid of storms because of this nightmare. Within the film, Marcie is murdered during a particularly stormy night.
  • Shout-Out: Her last name is one to the director, Sean S. Cunningham.
  • Sex Signals Death: Killed shortly after having sex with her boyfriend, Jack.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Like most of the cast, she doesn't really give us much impression on her personality, aside from her sex scene and now-obscure movie reference when looking in the mirror.
  • Wrench Wench: Shortly before her murder, Marcie managed to repair a broken sink.

    Annie

Annie Phillips

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/450px_annie_friday_the_13th___edited.png

Played By: Robbi Morgan

Annie was one of the counselors who was hired for the restoration of Camp Crystal Lake. She was the third victim of the film.

  • Break the Cutie: While the other people who were hired for the Camp are a bit more jaded or reluctant, Annie considers working at the camp to be her dream job; what she always wanted. She has a cheerful, optimistic attitude throughout her scenes, and even gives a brief speech about how long she has been chasing this dream. Complete with the mentality of never quitting, despite the hardships. The character is intentionally played as sweet and adorable. Unfortunately, the person to whom she is opening her heart and explaining all this, happens to be Pamela Voorhees. Who proceeds to scare the shit out of Annie, before backing her up against a tree and slitting her throat with a hunting knife.
  • Decoy Protagonist: The film follows her in the beginning of the movie as she greets a dog and sets out to camp. She is killed relatively quick into the movie, and is replaced with Alice.
  • Harmful To Hitchhikers: Annie is enthusiastic about her new job, but has no means to reach Crystal Lake on her own. She hitchikes the entire way from her home to the Camp, repeatedly relying on the kindness of others. The last driver who offered her a lift was Pamela Voorhees. Unsurprisingly, Annie never reached her destination.
  • Hero's Evil Predecessor: Annie was specifically hired to be the camp's cook. Her predecessor at the job was Pamela Voorhees, the villain of the film.
  • Nice Girl: Annie is sweet, cheerful, and loves the idea of working with kids. A pity that none of those qualities convince Pamela to spare her life.
  • Slashed Throat: How she is killed.

    Jack

Jack Burrel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ig7eceaiscyjldzv8osn2e.jpg

Played By: Kevin Bacon

Jack was one of the counselors who was hired for the restoration of Camp Crystal Lake. He was the fifth victim of the film.

  • Impromptu Tracheotomy: Pamela kills him by thrusting an arrow into the back of his neck and through the throat.
  • Lovable Jock: Jock-ish, and very much a nice guy.
  • Mr. Fanservice: The scene at the lake early on in his speedo has not gone unnoticed by fans over the years.
  • Nice Guy: Friends with everyone.
  • Sex Signals Death: Killed almost immediately after having sex with Marcie. His death scene implies that the killer was hiding under the bed during the entire sex scene, and killed Jack before he even got a chance to get out of bed. Who knew that there could be a monster under the bed?
  • Smoking Hot Sex: Smokes right after having sex.

    Bill

Bill Brown

Played By: Harry Crosby

Bill was one of the counselors who was hired for the restoration of Camp Crystal Lake. He was the ninth victim of the film.

  • The Generic Guy: He seems to be the heroic male role, but gets killed off screen without any fuss.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Has a couple shirtless scenes and spends the evening in an open-shirt only buttoned at the bottom.
  • Pinned to the Wall: His body is discovered pinned to a door by several arrows.
  • Slashed Throat: How he is killed.

    Brenda

Brenda Jones

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/350px_brenda___edited.png

Played By: Laurie Bartram

Brenda was one of the counselors who was hired for the restoration of Camp Crystal Lake. She was the seventh victim of the film.

  • Ambiguously Bi: Brenda seems as excited about seeing Alice naked as the guys. After being interrupted by the wind blowing the door open as Alice was about to take off her shirt, she says this:
Brenda: "Shame. Just when things were getting to the good part."
  • Destination Defenestration: Her body gets thrown through a window by Pamela Voorhees.
  • Nice Girl: Is by far much nicer and more selfless than anyone else in the cast.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Ended up being ambushed and killed after going out in a thunderstorm when she heard what sounded like a child crying for help.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Brenda initiated the strip Monopoly game. She was down to her bra and panties when she remembered that she left her cabin windows open during the storm and had to end the game. Brenda didn't get dressed when she left for her cabin.
  • Team Mom: In the original script, it describes that Brenda enjoys feeling more mature and sophisticated than others, and likes to take on extra responsibilities.

    Ned

Ned Rubenstein

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/400px_ned_2___edited.png

Played By: Mark Nelson

Ned was one of the counselors who was hired for the restoration of Camp Crystal Lake. He was the fourth victim of the film.

  • Asshole Victim: Was anyone sorry to see this guy go?
  • Death by Mocking: Considering he acts as both the jokester and asshole of the group, his fate was sealed from the start.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: He manages to anger most of his co-workers with a prank, because said "prank" involved faking that he was drowning in the lake.
  • Jerkass: Almost shoots Brenda with an arrow, amongst other obnoxious pranks.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: The jokester of the group, though he's unlikeable, unlike most examples of this trope.
  • Sickly Neurotic Geek: In the original script, it describes Ned as having polio as a child. While his upper body developed strong, his legs remained weak and slightly malformed. This is the reason behind his clownish behavior, as he tries to overcompensate his insecurity.
  • Slashed Throat: How he is killed.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He wanders away from the group, then follows a mysterious figure into an empty building. It's almost like he was trying to get killed.

    Steve

Steve Christy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mv5bndkwyzq3njctyjbmos00mzy0lwjin2qtm2nln2ewm2rlmwizxkeyxkfqcgdeqxvynjuxmjc1otm_v1.jpg

Played By: Peter Brouwer

Steve is the person responsible for deciding to renovate Camp Crystal Lake, and thus reopen it. He was the eighth victim of the film.

  • Clueless Boss: He is the leader of the Camp, and calling all the shots. His renovation of the Camp, however, would be a disaster, even without the murders. The night of the murders supposedly takes places two weeks prior the scheduled day for opening. Yet signs of disrepair are everywhere, the staff members are not actually assigned tasks while waiting, the hired cook is left to hitchhike to get there, the supplies are running low, and there is no way to communicate with the nearest town. The Camp is in no condition to open for campers. The locals have also reportedly warned him that "he was crazy to invest so much time and money ($25,000) into this project". Where did all that money go? Perhaps he should have listened to them.
  • Nice to the Waiter: He treats his employees well, and worries about them enough to risk driving in a storm, to come to their aid. He's also nice to the waitress at a local diner, joking with her and telling her to keep his change.
  • Red Herring: He is made out to be a potential suspect as the killer of the film, which honestly is impossible by the time they start implying it, but he is still made out as one.
  • Shirtless Scene: His first scene has him working on the house shirtless.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: It's his ill-conceived attempt to re-open Camp Crystal Lake that triggers Pamela's rampage, setting off a chain of events that leads to Jason's many massacres over the years.

    Barry

Barry Jackson

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barry_friday_the_13th.jpg

Played By: Willie Adams

Barry was a former counselor of Camp Crystal Lake. He was the first victim of the film.

  • Asshole Victim: He blew off his duty as a counselor and left Jason — a young child — completely alone in order to go have sex, which resulted in the poor kid's death. Jason's vengeful mother kills him for it.
  • Interrupted Intimacy: Right before he is about to have sex with Claudette, he is killed.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: Barry tries to explain that he and his girlfriend were just messing around, but is killed in the middle of it.
  • Out with a Bang: He and his girlfriend are murdered by Pamela Voorhees.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Back in 1957, Barry and his lover Claudette were the camp counselors trusted with supervising a young Jason Voorhees. He convinced Claudette to sneak out and have sex with him, leaving Jason completely unsupervised for the first time in his life. The boy decided to go swimming and drowned in the waters of the lake. Barry's brief neglect of the boy is what drove Pamela Voorhees over the edge, turned Jason into a mysterious, undead creature, and set off the bloody events of the entire series. Barry was killed in 1958, and is long gone during the "present" time of all the films, but his legacy lives on.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: See Small Role, Big Impact above.

    Claudette

Claudette Hayes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/claudette.png

Played By: Debra S. Hayes

Claudette was a former counselor of Camp Crystal Lake. She was the second victim of the film.

  • Asshole Victim: To a lesser degree than Barry, but she also deliberately neglected her job as counselor to leave Jason completely alone in the middle of the woods, which led to his death. Pamela kills her in revenge.
  • Big "NO!": Her last words.
  • Interrupted Intimacy: Right before she is about to have sex with Barry, she is killed.

  • Out with a Bang: She is murdered right after Barry by Pamela Voorhees.

Residents of Crystal Lake

    Crazy Ralph

Crazy Ralph

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/RIPcrazyRalph2_1826.jpg
This franchise would be ten films shorter if people just had listened to him.

Played By: Walt Gorney

Appearances: Friday the 13th (1980) | Friday the 13th Part 2

"It's got a death curse!"

Ralph is the town drunk of Crystal Lake. Mentally unbalanced (hence his nickname), he drives around the town with his bicycle to spread his warnings about Camp Crystal Lake's supposed "curse", much to the concern of his (mentioned, but unseen) wife and to the annoyance of everyone else.
Iconic character to the franchise, he would later gain two Expies in the form of Abel the hobo in Part III and the unnamed deckhand in Part VIII.

  • The Alcoholic: Mentioned to be a drunk.
  • Broken Record: He keeps repeating his warnings of doom to anyone he meets. And he has apparently kept doing this since the original murders in the Fifties, despite several terms in the local jail for being "drunk and disorderly".
  • The Cameo: Gets one in the book Hate-Kill-Repeat, via a flashback.
  • The Cassandra: His warnings are true (for different reasons, though) and nobody believes him.
  • The Cuckoolander Was Right: He's written off as a crazy drunk, but a lot of people learn too late that he was right in his warnings.
  • Dirty Old Man: Possibly. He is watching Ginny and Paul make out with a slightly dirty expression on his face and doesn't warn them about Jason. He could have been watching them to ensure their safety.
  • In-Series Nickname: He's crazy, so his mental condition was made into his nickname.
  • Large Ham: "YOU'RE GOIN' TO CAMP BLOOD, AIN'T 'CHA?!"
  • Limited Wardrobe: Notice in Part 2 that he's wearing the same clothes he had on in the original. Sure, it's five years later, but still....
  • Mission from God: He is convinced that God has given him a mission to warn everyone about Camp Crystal Lake's supposed "curse."
  • Posthumous Narration: The opening of Part VII is narrated by an uncredited Walt Gorney. He even refers to Crystal Lake as having "a death curse" like Ralph did.
  • Red Herring: Possibly intended to be one.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye
  • Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome: Crazy Ralph becomes Jason's second kill in Part 2, garroted to death with a string of barb-wire.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Along with Abel and the deck hand mentioned above, another Ralph-ish character named Jonah shows up in the book Carnival of Maniacs.
    • As well as Abel the religious doomsayer in the third film, the nameless deckhand in part 8, and a handful of others scattered in various adaptations. There's a lot of weirdos with uncanny prophecies of carnage roaming around the area.

    Tierney

Sergeant Jack Tierney

Played By: Ronn Carroll

A local police officer.

  • Bit Character: Tierney turns up during the storm scenes, offering to give the stranded Steve Christy a lift. He drops him off at some point to respond to the scene of a car accident. He then disappears until the end of the film, where he questions Alice Hardy in the hospital. This is his entire role in the film, and he has less screentime than most of the other characters.
  • Sole Survivor: Of the original cast, he, Officer Dorf and Enos are the only characters to still be alive.

    Pamela Voorhees

Pamela Voorhees

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/PamelaBerserk_7436.jpg
MY SON IS DEAD.

Played By: Betsy Palmer (first film and Part 2), Connie Hogan, Marlyn Poucher (both in Part III), Paula Shaw (Freddy vs. Jason) and Nana Visitor (the reboot).

Appearances: Friday the 13th (1980) | Friday the 13th Part 2 | Friday the 13th Part III | Freddy vs. Jason | Friday the 13th (2009)

"She can't hide. No place to hide."

The mother of Jason Voorhees and the former cook of Camp Crystal Lake. When Jason disappeared into Crystal Lake due to lack of attention from the camp counselors, she went insane with grief. One year later, she killed two counselors and the camp was closed. Following years have her stopping any attempt to reopen the place, either killing or sabotaging things until camp's again left alone. She met her demise during such deed as the tenth and final victim of the film, and her later appearances in the series are limited to hallucinations and nightmares that other people are having.

She has a brief appearance in the opening minutes of the reboot.

  • Alas, Poor Villain: Given that the death of Jason drove her over the edge, her own death comes across as a tragedy on some level, despite all the horrible murders she committed.
  • All for Nothing: Pamela was clearly unstable, but she was driven enough to devise a murderous plan to both avenge her son's death and permanently close Crystal Lake. Then the sequels show little Jason is somehow alive and living in the forest away from the camp, and she went through with killing everyone completely unaware of this. Then when she dies, Jason becomes a full-fledged murder monster to ironically avenge her death. Not only did Pamela fail to close the camp, but she ended up turning her supposedly dead son into an even more brutal killer. Ouch.
  • Anti-Villain: Downplayed. The reason behind her killing spree is definitely understandable because the incompetency of selfish counselors (who she killed first) did contribute to her son's death, and she has a right to be mad at Steve's reopening of the Camp considering it's in such a poor condition that it's basically asking for troubles. It's downplayed because her method is Always Murder without any indication of taking more peaceful actions prior. Not only does killing people provide no solution to securing the camp's safety, it resulted in the death of so many lives who don't deserve it, which makes it hard to truly qualify as this.
  • Asshole Victim: Although a sympathetic villain, considering what she did and that she was trying to finish Alice off, it's hard to feel she didn't have it coming.
  • Ax-Crazy: A more subtle case compared to her son, but as the first film shows, Jason's death has reduced her to a raving, psychotic madwoman.
  • Bad Samaritan: Remember how Annie got murdered by a driver while hitchhiking? That was Pamela.
  • Badass Normal: Unlike her son, she is not unusually large nor does she have any supernatural power yet she still manages to kill almost the entire cast.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: In her initial appearance, she seems like a nice person overwhelmed in sorrow and someone who can be reasoned with. She then asks Alice if she knew that a young boy drowned, starts to hear the voice of her dead son, and draws a knife on Alice, which makes it clear that no, this woman has gone off the deep end already.
  • Berserk Button: She really hates it when camp counselors have sex on the job, and makes a point to target any such couples she finds. This is because a pair of counselors being distracted by each other resulted in her son's death by drowning, which is what drove her insane to begin with.
  • Big Bad: Of the first film.
  • Camp Cook: She was the cook at Camp Crystal Lake's initial term of service. Unlike common depictions of the trope, she wasn't really bad at her job; instead, the "bad" part comes from her being the villain of the first movie.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: Of the whole original series, as the first film was made with no sequel in mind, making her a Predecessor Villain of sorts as well.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Pamela's love for her son is undiminished in the decades since his supposed death.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: At the center of her unabashed killing of camp counselors is to ensure that innocent children do not die like her son did as a result of their negligence. True to form, Pamela only targets teenagers and adults and never tries to hurt children.
  • Evil Chef: Only on a technicality, as she doesn't use her cook status for villainy.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Pamela pretends to be a warm and friendly person when she first meets Alice, but it's quickly revealed that this is just a facade. Even after revealing herself as the killer, Pamela dons a friendly smile, a maternal tone, and calls Alice "dear" as she tries to encourage her to just accept her impending death.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: While she is killed off in the first film and never resurrects like her son, her actions and death directly result in her son Jason's many murderous rampages. Jason Goes to Hell implies she may have had some involvement in the dark arts resulting in her son's supernatural abilities.
  • Hearing Voices: According to supplementary materials.
  • Hypocrite: Pamela claims to be out to keep the camp closed to prevent another tragedy like Jason's death. To do so, she causes plenty of tragedy, subjecting a number of parents to the same pain she herself suffered and murdering two counselors, Annie and Brenda, who would never have allowed something like Jason's drowning to occur. She even exploited Brenda's compassion by pretending to be a scared child to lure her to her death.
  • Insane Equals Violent: "Went insane with grief" in this case equals death and mayhem for anyone who dares to reopen the place of her son's death.
  • Kick the Dog: Her murder of Annie, a kind, compassionate young woman who was exactly the kind of counselor who could have averted Jason's cruel fate. Pamela shows her no more mercy than she shows anyone else.
  • Last-Second Word Swap: During her Motive Rant, she insists that Jason had to be watched at all times. She's about to use rather unflattering descriptions of why that was, but she noticeably catches herself and then merely says the boy was a poor swimmer.
  • Losing Your Head: Some supplementary materials, like the NES game and the Camp Crystal Lake novel series, has her reappearing as a living severed head.
  • Made of Iron: She soaks up a ridiculous amount of punishment during her attempt to kill Alice. The Frying Pan of Doom to the head alone should have largely ended the fight. But nothing even slows her down for long until Alice gets ahold of the machete. You can see where Jason gets it.
  • Mama Bear: A psychotic example.
  • Mask of Sanity: She starts out seeming stable, if unreasonably calm, but as soon as she brings up Jason, Pamela's mental state becomes increasingly more obvious until she's referring to Jason in the present tense and growling "look what you did to him" at Alice (who most likely hadn't even been born when Jason drowned).
  • Moral Myopia: Everything she does throughout the film is to prevent the Camp from reopening, in order to avoid another tragic accident like Jason's drowning. However, Pamela causes more than one tragic accident in pursuit of this goal, killing multiple counselors, setting fires, and poisoning the water.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: Rather than doing something legal like suing Camp Crystal Lake for Jason's death, Pamela murdered the two counselors she immediately blamed, carried out acts of arson and sabotage to get the camp closed, and embarked on a murderous rampage to prevent it from being reopened.
  • My Beloved Smother: Depending on what extra materials you are reading, she was either an incredibly smothering mother, or flat out incestuous with Jason.
  • Oh, Crap!: The face she makes when Alice grabs her machete and runs at her.
  • Off with His Head!: She died when she was decapitated by Alice. In Slow Motion.
  • Power Born of Madness: This is the most plausible explanation for the otherwise more improbable feats seen, such as arrowing a grown man to a door a good six inches off the ground, and hurling a body through a window.
  • Predecessor Villain: The very first killer in the franchise before her son took the helm as the Big Bad, not to mention the fact that all of Jason's killing sprees in the sequels are done in her name.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Another explanation for her actions. Jason drowned while the counselors were having sex and smoking drugs, so she decides to return the sentiment.
  • Serial Killer: Of the mission-based variety, Pamela only kills those she sees as responsible for her son's death or those working at Camp Crystal Lake so another child doesn't fall victim to the counselors' incompetence. Also somewhat visionary, as her son appears to be a split personality, compelling her to kill.
  • Split Personality: The way she talks to herself mimicking Jason's voice suggests this.
  • Start of Darkness: The comic miniseries Pamela's Tale.
  • Stranger Behind the Mask: There's only a brief mention of her before she appears and reveals that she is the one behind the murders.
  • Teenage Pregnancy: Pamela was born sometime in 1930, placing her at 16 years old when she gave birth to Jason in 1946.
  • They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: Unlike her hideously deformed son, she looks like a normal middle-aged woman.
  • Trauma Button: After Jason's supposed death at Camp Crystal Lake, any attempt to reopen the place triggers her to sabotage things in order to stop it, so that no one has to share her son's fate.
  • True Blue Femininity: Pamela's light blue sweater lends itself well to the soft, maternal exterior that belies her murderous rage.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Make no mistake, she was a very witting one during her own killing spree, but her decision to murder all of the counselors seeking to reopen the camp leads to her own death at Alice's hands, which would then bring forth all the massacres perpetrated by Jason.
  • Villainous Legacy: Killing and being killed in turn brought Jason back to the outside world, and now he kills for her.
  • Walking Spoiler: She has no presence in the story until the climax, where Pamela reveals herself as the killer to Alice.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Well, weak only in comparison to her son given her own physical feats in the first film, but still. While Jason has the benefit of having Super-Strength that allows him to shrug off injuries that should be fatal to regular human beings and thus can brute force his way through whatever defenses his victims put up, Pamela generally relies on subterfuge and the element of surprise to pick the counselors off one by one.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: She claims she wants to keep Camp Crystal Lake closed so that no one would end up like Jason, but not only does she kill far, far more people (albeit adults) than could possibly die at a summer camp no matter how negligent, but she never tried any legal or less-lethal methods of achieving such a goal, and she accuses Alice of having killed Jason herself, showing Pamela just has a vendetta against anyone associated with Camp Crystal Lake, and/or is too insane to see the difference between her victims and the counselors who actually neglected Jason and just acts out of anger.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: She was driven mad with grief after her son's death, and wants to kill all camp counselors at Crystal Lake, not just the idiots who let her son drown (or so she thinks).
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: In the opening scene long before her reveal, a POV of her is shown checking on the sleeping children in the camp. She then proceeds to kill two counselors that were in a nearby cabin, having sex. The motive for her killing spree is also based on this trope, as she doesn't want the camp reopened to prevent more children from dying due to the staff's neglect.

    Enos

Enos

Played By: Rex Everhart

A trucker who gives Annie a ride partway to camp.

  • All There in the Manual: His name is mentioned once in the film. In the credits, he's just listed as "Truck Driver".
  • Good Samaritan: He gives Annie a ride without any ulterior motives and warns her about the camp's bad reputation without coming across as a Doomsayer like Crazy Ralph.
  • Mr. Exposition: He's the original source of stories about the misfortunes Camp Crystal Lake has suffered.
  • Youth Is Wasted on the Dumb: After Annie brushes off his warnings, he voices this opinion, dismissing modern kids as "know it-alls" with heads full of rocks.
