    Chris

Christine "Chris" Higgins

Played by: Dana Kimmell

The Final Girl of part three, Chris has had a run in with Jason in the past and has come back to her parents' farm with friends in an effort to loosen up and forget the past. Unfortunately for her, Jason has come back as well.

  • Action Survivor: Manages to inflict serious injuries on Jason's hand and leg using the knife he used to kill Debbie causing him to limp for the rest of the movie, knocks him out with a shovel before immediately hanging him and finally caves his head in with an axe. She also managed to escape him two years earlier.
  • Brainy Brunette: Smart and brown-haired in contrast to the usually blonde heroines.
  • Broken Bird: Suffers PTSD from her near-death at the hands of Jason before. Has completely lost it by the end of the movie.
    • Thankfully, seems to have calmed down by The Cameo in the next movie.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was attacked by Jason in the past.
  • Final Girl: Of Part III.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Kimmell was insistent on playing her character as a strong and positive figure who embodied a sort of innocence and purity, which is why she successfully fought to have a scene scrapped which would have shown Chris being sexually violated by Jason.
  • Laughing Mad: By the end of the film. Though her brief cameo in the fourth movie shows she managed to calm down.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: She is the only protagonist in the entire film series who is never given the full context of the events regarding Jason Voorhees, Camp Crystal Lake, or the local murders. To her, Jason was just some random deformed psycho who had it out for her.
  • Nice Girl: She's very nice and polite to her friends with Shelly being a notable exception due to his obnoxious pranks.
  • Scars are Forever: Was the one who inflicted the big gash on Jason's iconic hockey mask by striking him on the head with an axe.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The minute she realizes how bad the situation is, she takes the van and tries to drive away. Sadly, the gas has been siphoned from the car, and the bridge collapses under its weight.
  • This Cannot Be!: Her reaction when Jason survives being hanged and begins to climb down.
    Chris: You can't be alive!
  • "You!" Exclamation: Her reaction when she sees Jason unmasked and recognizes him as the one who attacked her two years ago.

    Rick

Played by: Paul Kratka

  • Bound and Gagged: Jason handgags him so he can't scream for help while retraining him.
  • Fanservice: Has a shirtless scene and even struts around with his shirt half open.
  • New Old Flame: To Chris, who he knew before she moved away.
  • Your Head Asplode: Jason crushes his head with his bare hands.

    Shelly

Shelly Finkelstein

Played by: Larry Zerner

  • Crying Wolf: All the pranks he plays throughout the movie wind up backfiring horribly on him when his throat is slashed by Jason and he manages to make it back to Chili for help. By this point, she thinks it's only another prank, and doesn't realize the truth until long after he's died. It's pretty clear Shelly realizes the impact of this as well, as the look he gives right before he dies clearly says "Oh, Crap!."
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Due to his excessive pranks.
  • Sad Clown: The child brought not one but TWO masks, a scuba diving suit, and a harpoon gun on a small casual trip with a handful of friends. His actor has said Shelly thinks so incredibly lowly of himself that he is constantly trying to over compensate his insecurities with comedy, because he truly can't see any other reason why someone would like him.
  • Slashed Throat: Suffers this at the hands of Jason. He survives long enough to stumble to the cabin.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: It's his hockey mask that Jason obtains, netting him his iconic look for the rest of the series.

    Vera

Vera Sanchez

Played by: Cathernie Parks

The Hispanic friend of the group on a blind date with Shelly.

  • Eye Scream: Vera has the dubious honor of being Jason’s first kill while wearing his iconic hockey mask. Jason fires a harpoon straight through her eye from afar.
  • For Want Of A Nail: Her mother almost didn't let her go on the trip.
  • Moe Greene Special: Is killed by Jason shooting a harpoon into her left eye.
  • Nice Girl: She's even surprisingly nice to Shelly, despite what an obnoxious jerk he is.
  • Slap-Slap-Kiss: Averted. Shelly actually might have had a chance with her if he wasn't such a complete ass to her with his pranks.
  • Token Minority: To an extent. She's not the only minority in the cast but among the heroes' group.

    Debbie

Debbie Klein

Played by: Tracie Savage

  • Imperiled in Pregnancy: She claims that she's pregnant, and ends up one of Jason's victims.
  • Impromptu Tracheotomy: Jason kills her by thrusting a knife into the back of her neck and through the throat.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Spends a full scene in the movie wearing nothing but a bikini and later has a shower scene.
  • Sex Signals Death: Killed shortly after having sex with Andy.

    Chili

Played by: Rachel Howard

    The three punks

The Punks

Played by: Gloria Charles (Fox), Nick Savage (Ali), Kevin O'Brien (Loco)

  • Ambiguously Evil: They don't get a lot of screen time, but really all they do at first is just mess with Vera and Shelly. The worst they do is after their bikes are smashed up. Their retaliation for Shelly trying to run down Ali is pretty tame by comparison, though it's implied they were going to burn down the barn had Jason not gotten involved. They come off more as goofballs than anything and clearly enjoy each other's company. Finally Ali comes to Chris' rescue in the climax of the film. Whether these guys are genuinely bad news or just miscreants is pretty up in the air.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Ali's hand gets chopped off by Jason before he butchers him to death.
  • Asshole Victim: The three exist just for the audience to cheer when Jason kills them all.
  • Black Dude Dies First: Averted. Ali is not only the last of the three to get killed, by survives his initial beatdown and returns near the climax, ending up as Jason's final victim of the third movie.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Fox was the only one against trying to steal the gas from Chris' van.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Fox ends up pinned to a barn rafter with a pitchfork through her neck. Just a few seconds later Loco gets a pitchfork through the stomach.
  • Jerkasses: They're a gang of bikers who cause nothing but trouble for Chris and her friends. They even plan on setting Chris's barn on fire all because Shelly accidentally knocked their motorcycles over.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: They get their comeuppance for antagonizing Shelly and Vera when the former accidentally knocks their motorcycles over and they get even bigger karma when they get killed by Jason after planning to siphon the gas in Chris's van in order to set her barnhouse on fire as revenge for Shelly knocking their motorcycles over.
  • Spanner in the Works: Because they siphoned the gas, Chris isn't able to just drive away when Jason pursues her.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: The males Ali and Loco and the female Fox.

    Harold and Edna

Harold and Edna Hockett

Played by: Steve Susskind and Cheri Maugans

  • All Guys Are Slobs: Harold spends most of his screentime eating food in his store and putting it back despite taking a bite out of it.
  • Big Eater: Harold is almost always seen munching on something.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Edna gets a needle driven into the back of her head.
  • Henpecked Husband: Harold gets berated and yelled at by his wife for being a disgusting, lazy slob who constantly eats junk food and doesn't take care of himself very well.

    Abel

Abel

Played by: David Wiley
  • Doomsayer: He shouts out warnings about the area in an off-putting fashion.
