Character cosplaying with some context - (2/50)
  1. Characters.Pokemon Unbound (Penny)/ Cosplay: She appears to be in a Goodra cosplay, is a fangirl of dragons, and mentions a Dragoncon that she likes to attend.
  2. Manga.Dead Dead Demons Dededededestruction/ Cosplay: Ch. 49 revolves around two American otakus watching Pres. Padron ranting about the shady antics of the Japanese government while fretting over the details of a fanservice-heavy video game they're developing. At the start of ch. 50, one of them reveals a cosplay costume of one of the characters in their game...which, considering he's an overweight, hairy, bearded man in an outfit that basically consists of frilly briefs and a couple of strategically-wrapped strips of fabric, is Fan Disservice in the extreme.

    Just a character cosplaying - (20/50)
  1. Characters.Steven Universe Connie Maheswaran/ Cosplay: Dresses up as Lisa from the Spirit Morph Saga in "Open Book".
  2. Characters.Nier Reincarnation/ Cosplay: Fio has costumes based on 2B (Mechanical Girl) and One (Intoner Girl).
  3. Anime.Akibas Trip/ Cosplay: All of Arisa's outfits seem to be some kind of cosplay outfit.
  4. Characters.Dexter Main Characters (Rita Bennet)/ Cosplay: Does one of Lara Croft in season 1.
  5. Characters. The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild Link And Zelda (Link)/ Cosplay: Via amiibo and DLC, this Link can impersonate most of his predecessors, and even other characters such as Sheik and Phantom Ganon. He can also dress up as Rex via free DLC.
  6. Characters.Tokyo Xanadu Xanadu Research Club (Kou Tokisaka)/ Cosplay: In Jun’s friendship event in Chapter 7, he gets roped into cosplaying as Demon Prince Rean.
  7. VideoGame.Lollipop Chainsaw/ Cosplay: Several of Juliet's alternate costumes are based on anime currently airing at the time of the game's release. One pre-order bonus costume is a gender-bent version of Ash Williams' outfit from Evil Dead 2.
  8. Good Morning, Sleeping Lion/ Cosplay: Spade collects Remi's photos in various costumes and the ending credits features her singing her song in those same costumes.
  9. FinalFantasyXIV.Tropes A To C/ Cosplay: Iconic outfits from past games are common rewards. The Lightning Strikes event rewarded players with Lightning's and Snow's outfits, the Labyrinth of the Ancients rewards tanks with the Warror of Light's armor, Setzer's gear can be obtained from the Gold Saucer, and the Veteran Rewards for subscribing for certain periods of time include outfits such as Cloud's from Advent Children, Firion's, Zidane's, and Squall's.
  10. Characters.Namco X Capcom (Sylphie)/ Cosplay: Aside from possessing an arsenal consisting of various weapons and items from Capcom arcade games, she also can dress up as (and copy the techniques of) four other Capcom females: Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike's Makoto, Michelle Heart from Legendary Wings, Linn Kurosawa from Alien vs. Predator (Capcom), and Mai-Ling from Red Earth. She also gets to sell two Magical Girl costumes to MOMO (one for a Rare Hunter skill, the other for a Limit Break).
  11. Creator.Jessica Nigri/ Cosplay: She is best known as a cosplayer.
  12. Literature.Rainbow Dash And The Daring Do Double Dare/ Cosplay: Rainbow Dash wears a Daring Do costume during her quest.
  13. VideoGame.Ys The Oath In Felghana/ Cosplay: In the Switch version, the congratulations card in the game’s Boss Rush has Elena cosplaying various Ys characters. They are (from Very Easy to Inferno) Dana and Laxia from Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, Aprilis and White Cat from Ys IX: Monstrum Nox and Adol and Carja from Ys X: Nordics (which was in development at the time of the Switch version’s release). added by me before making the wick check, which subsequently made me question the trope's validity
  14. PhineasAndFerb.Tropes A To C/ Cosplay: Phineas, Ferb, Buford, Baljeet, Candace, Irving, and Irving's brother Albert all go to the Sci-fi Fantasy Convention in cosplay.
  15. Characters.Diary Of A Tourney Kid (Guptill89)/ Cosplay: His gloves & shoes are an obvious reference to Sonic the Hedgehog, and his The Ugly Truth outfit is very similar to that of Beat from Jet Set Radio. In fact, "Cosplay" is one of his sources in that same Round.
  16. Characters.Fate Grand Order Protagonist/ Cosplay: Some Mystic Codes reference other iconic outfits from the Fate series and occasionally other parts of the Nasuverse.
  17. Characters.Frame Arms Girls (Brave Girl (Cross Frame Girl))/ Cosplay: What you could call her gimmick, Koto has show Brave Girl rocking the armors for Exkaiser, Might Gaine, and J-Decker.

    Other - (28/50)
  1. Characters.Kamen Rider Ghost Yokai Chronicles (Komasan)/ Non-Action Guy: He almost never resorts to violence except on some rare accidental instances, often preferring polishing the Edison Eyecon or doing Cosplay. pothole
  2. Characters.Kuromukuro (Mika Ogino)/ Cosplay: Quite fond of taking part in it. ZCE
  3. Characters.Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese (Girl)/ Hidden Depths: While she normally acts sullen and aloof, her favorite TV show is a sci-fi series, and she even put together a Cosplay club at school revolving around it. pothole
  4. Characters.Ranma One Half Major Story Arc Characters (Azusa Shiratori)/ Shout-Out Theme Naming: When naming a new purloined possession, Azusa doesn't simply pick French names out of a hat; she names them after characters from The Rose of Versailles. This is much more evident in the anime, where she steals and names many more items on-screen than she does in the manga—and dresses up Genma-panda in full Lady Oscar cosplay. pothole
  5. Characters. The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls Voiced Idols (Suzuho Ueda)/ Cosplay: Averted. She doesn't like dressing as anime or manga characters. listed as an Aversion
  6. Characters.Ya Boy Kongming (Zhuge Liang, courtesy name Kongming)/ Awesome Anachronistic Apparel: Kongming is hardly ever seen outside of his trademark Three Kingdoms era blue robe, hat and fan, even in modern-day Japan, which is understandable since he came from that time period. Everyone else thinks he's just a really enthusiastic Cosplayer. That said, he's not averse to wearing more modern clothes, like an LED message visor at a party or a tracksuit while his robes are in the wash. pothole
  7. Characters.Hidamari Sketch (Yoshinoya)/ Cosplay Otaku Girl: She uses her cosplay tendencies for everything from modeling for her art class to making personalized greeting cards. She is very offended, however, at the suggestion that this is cosplay. pothole
  8. VideoGame.Final Fantasy X 2/ Impossibly Cool Clothes: Almost every dressphere. The design philosophy seems to be, "How can we make this as hard as possible for cosplayers to pull off?" That hasn't stopped them trying, of course, with wildly varying degrees of success. pothole
  9. VideoGame.Yakuza 5/ The Cameo: Miku Hatsune appears throughout the game as a UFO prize, an ice sculpture in Tsukimino, and is also featured as a decal for Kiryu's taxi. One of Haruka's bonus outfits in Premium adventure mode has her cosplay as the virtual idol. pothole
  10. Anime.Miss Monochrome/ The Cameo: Fellow Sanzigen star Wooser makes frequent background cameos. Peeking out from behind a sign in episode four, as a Cosplay thought bubble in episode 5, getting run over by Monochrome in episode 8 and as the goalie in the "Supporter" OVA. pothole
  11. Characters.Love Chunibyo And Other Delusions (Shinka Nibutani)/ Drama Club: Later joins the school's drama club, which more or less gives her an excuse to dress up in different costumes. pothole
  12. Characters.Persona 2 The Antagonists (Ixquic)/ A 13 year-old cosplayer with a very lively imagination, believing that she's a "reincarnated warrior maiden", Ixquic. In Innocent Sin, she turns out to be a minion of King Leo. In Eternal Punishment, she hangs out at Giga Macho (The Seedy CD) music store, and is hunting down the two rumored demons that reside there. pothole
  13. Characters.Trails Series Erebonia Thors Main Campus Classes (Towa Herschel)/ Cosplay: Dressed the part of an Idol Singer at the Academy Festival when she was a first-year, where she was the lead singer in the band. misuse; doesn't describe her dressing up as another characters
  14. Animal Crossing/ Punny Name: As befitting two squirrels Cosplaying Callie and Marie, Cece and Viché's names put together are a reference to ceviche, a spicy Peruvian fish dish. pothole
  15. Characters.Code Breaker (Sakura's parents/Yuki Sakurakouji)/ Cosplay: Loves dressing up for no reason. ZCE and misuse
  16. VideoGame.Dark Souls I/ Cosplay: It's perfectly possible to find nearly every set of robes, garments or armor identical to an existing human-sized Non-Player Character in the game and pose as them, with matching weapons and sometimes shield. Domhall of Zena also provides equipment worn by some bosses after you defeat them, ranging from a scaled-down Iron Golem set to Ornstein and Smough's Scary Impractical Armor to even Artorias's worn-out silver armor. unsure
  17. Manhwa.Metal Heart/ Cosplay ZCE; In fact it's commented out
  18. Characters.Tales From The Borderlands (Fiona)/ Fangirl: Implied to be one of Moxxi. If you pay close attention, you'll notice similarities in their outfits, Fiona's seemingly being a (far more modest) Cosplay of her. Really does make you wonder what Scooter really saw in her... note  pothole
  19. Characters.Trigun (Vash The Stampede)/ Your Costume Needs Work: This tends to be the reaction of anyone when finding out Vash is the Humanoid Typhoon - unless they've seen him in action, at least. Badlands Rumble gets an entire bar laughing at the thought, with one patron even suggesting he might be doing Cosplay. pothole
  20. Characters.Kamen Rider Fourze Zodiarts (Norio Eguchi/Cygnus Zodiarts)/ Cosplay: Has an outfit inspired by Cygnus, and then dons one based on Fourze at the end.
  21. Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Plus older siblings, when they show up on Class Inspection Day. To give you an idea, Sona's older sister Serafall Leviathan, one of the four demon overlords, shows up cosplaying as a Magical Girl (from the Show Within a Show) and acting like a young ditzy teen, much to the former's embarrassment. Rias's father, Zeoticus, also takes some embarrassing footage of her in class, and shows it to Issei's parents during the same arc. And then, judging from how his parents act... No wonder Issei is so perverted. pothole
  22. Characters.Omamori Himari (Humans/Class President)/ Otaku: Makes references to Dating Sims and even cosplays as a witch in the school festival. pothole
  23. Characters.School Days (Sekai Saionji)/ Fan Service With A Smile: The waitress uniform for her afterschool job, which can easily be mistaken as Cosplay. Not only does it leave little to the imagination, it comes complete with detached sleeves and some frills. pothole
  24. Literature.Mayoi Neko Overrun/ Cosplay: Occurs constantly during the Jenga game. ZCE
  25. Manga.KOn/ Cosplay: Sawako has a thing for dressing up the other girls. Possibly also counts as Cosplay Otaku Girl, but Sawa hasn't shown any otaku tendencies so this area is a little gray. misuse
  26. Trivia.Steins Gate/ Parallel Porn Title: Layers;Gatenote , produced by Total Media Agency, which starred Goro Tameike as Okabe. It was eventually recalled due to an angry letter by S;G's devs. Hilariously, they had the audacity to take scenes from the anime and green screen the actors onto it. pothole
  27. VideoGame.Nickelodeon Super Brawl/ Assist Character: Super Brawl 3 introduces the "Fan Power" mechanic, which allows you to summon a child cosplaying as a certain fighter to perform an assist move. Super Brawl World also has selectable assist characters, though these are actual non-playable Nickelodeon characters. pothole
  28. Trivia.Twisted Wonderland/ Fanwork Ban: Being a Disney property, Twisted Wonderland naturally has strict guidelines concerning derivative fan works associated with the IP and restricts the production of commercial fan-made merchandise. Cosplays of the cast that are for profit rather than hobby are also banned. pothole
