    1200- 1224

SCP-1200 - A Little Taste of Factory

SCP-1200 is "Tastes Like Chewing Gum" brand chewing gum, evidently manufactured by "The Factory". Packages of the gum periodically appear in various stores across the United States, and 83 flavors have currently been documented. When a flavor is chewed by a human subject, a random anomalous effect will manifest. The effects and their duration vary based on the flavor of the gum. Flavors include "Tastes Like Sunshine", which cause the chewer to emit 40000 lux of white light, "Tastes Like Rubik’s Cube", where the chewer is able to freely rearrange internal and external parts of the body, and "Tastes Like Those Forgotten", which causes the manifestation of corporeal, non-sapient humanoids which mimic every action made by the chewer.

SCP-1201 - Zoroaster's Well

SCP-1201 is a shallow wall-fountain in Damascus, Syria. The fountain itself displays no anomalous properties save for its use by SCP-1201-2, a sapient man-sized entity resembling a hairless chimpanzee. 1201-2 materializes within 40-48 meters of 1201 each year with severe injuries, which it regenerates in the span of 12.3 seconds before attempting to return to the fountain. Attempts to halt the progress of 1201-2’s approach to the fountain have been effectively unsuccessful, as it will actively attempt to remove or disable barriers between it and 1201. The entity appears to note researchers in its perimeter, but while normally not hostile towards them, it will assault personnel when coerced.

SCP-1202 - Lost Voice

SCP-1202 is the frozen, emaciated corpse of a man recovered beneath a frozen lake in Canada. DNA testing and carbon-dating have identified the corpse as a member of a South American tribe that lived 800 years ago. Those who make physical contact with the corpse begin hearing a voice that will not cease until they make contact with another human. The exact mechanism that enables transfer is unknown, as is the manner in which 1202 communicates with subjects. 1202 will converse with afflicted subjects, lecturing them about a variety of scientific topics such as biology and theoretical physics. The psychological effect tends to be detrimental, as the voice rarely ceases to 'talk' for periods any longer than twenty seconds.

SCP-1203 - Ouroboros

SCP-1203 is a young woman identifying by the name "Miranda". When she reaches 21 years of age, Miranda undergoes a process similar to parthenogenesis, resulting in the conception of a genetically identical fetus that is birthed after she dies. While this form of reproduction is comparable to the medical phenomenon, new duplicates are not developmentally inhibited and do not benefit from extended longevity. During any stage of her life, Miranda has an identical biological profile to previous versions of herself. Miranda’s condition is unique in that memories are transferred from one duplicate to the next. Because of her ability, Miranda has been in containment for approximately 95 years, equivalent to 5 cycles of death and rebirth.

SCP-1204 - The Social Disease

SCP-1204 is an invisible parasitic being which regularly uses human beings as hosts. CT scans of hosts reveal a tumor-like mass of varying size and location in the brain, while the parasite itself is only detectable through electrical pulses. During the spread of infection, a contracting mass of pharynx tissue will elongate through the mouth of an infected subject into an uninfected mouth. The behavior and personality of infectees changes markedly after infection. Hosts will become increasingly social, devoting significant amounts of time seeking out physical contact. 1204 will also experience "strong feelings of loneliness" and extreme idolization of a potential romantic partner. Physical symptoms of subjects with long-term 1204 infection include persistent internal bleeding, memory alteration, and fatal tears in the rear of the nasal cavity and ventral portions of the brain.

SCP-1205 - Wallflower

SCP-1205 is a patch of decaying floral-print wallpaper attached to a cut-away segment of wall. The paper appears aged and flaking, and seems as vulnerable to burning and cutting as comparable vinyl-free wallpapers. Subjects who intentionally damage the wallpaper report hearing a sustained shriek reminiscent of a tea kettle's whistle. Within twenty-four hours, any portions of the wallpaper destroyed will re-appear on the wall, housed in their former location in identical condition. The patch has also been observed to change shape and size at irregular intervals.

SCP-1206 - Lost Muse

SCP-1206 is a serendipitous phenomenon that emerges through the convergence the degree of sky visible over the event site, whether the Green Line Track D outbound from Boston, Massachusetts passes the site coinciding with dusk or "twilight", and whether or not passengers on the train happen to be gazing at the scenery on the northern/right side of the train. Between stops, the Green Line passes through an open expanse of trees and shrubbery bordering what is classified as the "Hot Zone". If the above conditions are met, passengers become intensely transfixed by the scenery for the entirety of the trip through the Hot Zone. Subjects have reported an overwhelming feeling of awe and sublime, but have summarily failed to provide adequate descriptions of what they have seen. As exposed subjects feel a compulsion to communicate their experience of the Hot Zone, individuals will invariably develop a language (hereby referred to as SCP-1206-A) that will replace and eventually become their preferred method of communication.

SCP-1207 - Not a Mirror

SCP-1207 is a metal sign painted white, with embossed letters reading "THIS IS A MIROR YOU ARE A TYPO". It carries a strong cognitohazard which manifests three distinct anomalous effects upon subjects within a direct line of sight. The first effect will have any vertebrate directly exposed to the sign perceiving it as a mirror. The second effect will have subjects exposed to 1207 rapidly develop symptoms of body dysmorphic disorder as they examine their "reflection". As exposure time increases, subjects will begin to modify their appearances in attempts to "correct" themselves, typically by application of cosmetics. Subjects without access to cosmetics will engage in self-mutilation. When shown actual mirrors, they will express satisfaction with their modifications, but will again find fault with their appearance when re-exposed to 1207. The final effect is that subjects exposed to 1207 will gradually develop symptoms of dyslexia, losing their ability to spell or notice spelling errors. The induced cases of dyslexia are temporary, but the factors determining the rate at which individual subjects recover have yet to be determined.

SCP-1208 - WaffleMaster 3000

SCP-1208 is a waffle iron identical in every external respect to those produced by Conair in 2003. The anomalous behavior of 1208 occurs when any solid material other than batter or dough is placed between its active heating plates and the lid is closed. Regardless of the material placed, applying torque to the handle of the device will successfully close the lid, displacing any material in excess of the volume of the cooking area to the outer edge of the device. A "waffle" composed of the matter placed between the plates will be present. Deformation caused by the process is entirely topological, as any substructures present in the source material remain intact, but deformed.

SCP-1209 - Many Eyes in Many Places

SCP-1209 is a congenital eye defect believed to be caused by an environmental factor. The most noticeable feature of the condition is the presence of multiple irises, pupils, and lenses on the surface of the eye. The condition is usually accompanied by complete heterochromia, where each iris is differently colored. As a result of the presence of multiple corneas and a distortion of the sclera, infected subjects report mild to severe discomfort when attempting to move their eyes. Individuals affected (henceforth referred to as SCP-1209-1) appear to be able to see normally through only one pupil, usually the one aligned closest to where the pupil would normally be located. All other pupils display a view of the world consistent with that seen through the eyes of other individuals (henceforth referred to as SCP-1209-2). Each pupil displays images as seen by a single person, and the persons that each pupil is able to "see through" appear constant at all times.

SCP-1210 - Anomalous Radar Station

SCP-1210 is an uncharted island 31km off the coast of Russia. Its unusual shape suggests that it may have once been larger, but the eastern half of the island was "sheared off" via unknown means. SCP-1210-2 is a World War II radar installation located on the main hill of the island, consisting of a large radar array and a control bunker containing readout equipment. Forensic examination of the site indicates that the site’s personnel were forced to abandon the area in haste and head towards the eastern end of the island, where the main power plant and living quarters are presumed to have been located. Despite having been disconnected from an active power source for 50 years, 1210-2 is still active, and periodically generates a low-powered radar pulse emission that radiates to a range of approximately 9km. During each emission, localized shifts in the area surrounding 1210-2 occur that coincide with the propagation of the emission. These include changes in the topography of the sea bed and ocean floor, changes in the local flora and fauna, and short-lived changes in the chemistry and organic content of the water surrounding 1210.

SCP-1211 - King in the Castle

SCP-1211 are the dilapidated ruins of a castle on the outskirts of a city in Ireland. Within minutes of entering 1211, any man at least 35 years old will immediately be convinced that they are the rightful heir to an imagined throne, owner of the castle, and "lord of all lands as far as the eye can see". The cause of these delusions is unclear, though the effect appears to be much more pronounced in individuals of Irish descent. If left in the castle ruins for extended periods, affected subjects will begin to increasingly live in a fantasy where they are a king during a time of war, pacing the interior hallways and whispering in the Irish language. After one month, some subjects are observed to experience rotting skin, rotting muscle tissue, and deterioration of the skeletal structure. At no time has any subject expressed need of food, water, or sleep during this process, and no subject has ever died of old age while affected by 1211.
  • Fake Memories: When a man of 35 years of age or older spends enough time in the castle, it implants memories in him of being an Irish king of the distant past during a time of war with rival clans.
  • Rapid Aging: After inhabiting the castle for three months, a man who's 35 years old will have become about 80 years old. After an additional month (or more) subjects will experience rotting of the skin and muscle tissue and skeletal degeneration, but don't die.

SCP-1212 - Irresponsible Completion

SCP-1212 is a wooden bar stool that normally does not possess any abnormal physical qualities other than a faint odor of alcohol. When a human being older than 15 sits on 1212, the stool will change shape almost instantaneously, matching iterations with untold numbers of different stools. The occupant then appears to experience a full sensory hallucination, no longer able to sense what is occurring around them in reality while unable to be removed from 1212. The contestant will appear to mime taking a container of liquid from a surface in front of them, placing it to their lips, drinking its contents in one smooth motion, and slamming the container back down onto the surface. Despite no actual liquid passing between the contestant's lips, they slowly begin to exhibit effects normally associated with intoxication, such as nausea, slurring of speech, bodily swaying, and vomiting, which become more and more severe with more time elapsed. The contest will only end when a period of time no less than one hour passes, or the contestant dies of alcohol poisoning.

SCP-1213 - Orphaned Catapult

SCP-1213 is a medieval catapult composed of wood and steel. 1213 is capable of autonomous locomotion on its four wooden wheels, as well as operating its firing mechanism by an unknown method. When given space to move, 1213 will haphazardly explore an area. If it should encounter a suitable subject within 10 meters, the catapult will transport the subject into the basket on its firing arm by unknown means. It will then launch the subject at the nearest flat vertical surface. After launching, it will remain stationary, emitting a sound similar to feline purring while it resets its firing arm, after which it will resume its haphazard exploration. 1213 favors launching mammalian subjects ranging from infant to prepubescent ages, with weights between 15 and 50 kilograms.

SCP-1214 - Anomalous Random Number Generator

SCP-1214 is a coding project written in the computing language of C# with the name "random_number_test". It is housed in 1214-L1, a Dell XPS Ultrabook laptop, with power supply and mouse, that runs on Windows 7. The program consists of approximately 60 lines of code, and generates random numbers in the range of 48 to 90, which are then interpreted as ASCII codes. The characters are assembled into lines of 50 characters each, with one such line printed to a text window every second while the program is running. Hours after the program is started, semi-coherent sentences start appearing in the output. While the words in these sentences appear identifiable at first, the frequency of recognizable words begins dropping. At the same time, bias towards long strings of the same character starts to slowly increase, while the number of different characters in the output begins to diminish, as if the probability of them appearing has dramatically decreased. Stopping and restarting the program results in a repetition of this phenomenon, with slight variations in program output as well as the lengths of the respective phases.

SCP-1215 - Peri Logismon

SCP-1215 is an illuminated manuscript, written in Medieval Greek on vellum, dating back to the 4th century. The manuscript is a version of Peri Logismon, written by Evagrius Ponticus as a treatise on the "Eight Evil Thoughts", predecessors of the "Seven Deadly Sins". Individuals exposed to the text or illustrations within 1215 have their behavior altered, manifesting the changes when they leave the immediate proximity of the object. Subjects exhibit behavior consistent with one of the vices described within the manuscript. The effects of 1215 vary not only based on which vice manifests itself in the behavior of exposed subjects, but also in the severity of the behavior. Infected subjects will gradually have their symptoms manifest in physical harm of both the subjects and onlookers.

SCP-1216 - Pyrami

SCP-1216 is a species of pyramidal organisms with a thin, flexible, bowed leg on each vertex. They also have a pair of curved, cylindrical, flexible antennae attached to the uppermost vertex of their body. Situated at the ends of the antennae are two solid spheres composed of beryllium bronze. Aside from these spheres, 1216 are composed of an anomalous protein known as "pyramitin", which seems to be similar in structure to chitin, save for a bulk modulus and density comparable to cobalt. 1216 are able to communicate with one another through flexing their antennae and tapping their bronze spheres together in rhythmic patterns. The creatures are native to SCP-1216-2, an extradimensional space adjacent to Lenox, Massachusetts appearing as a flat expanse of subtropical desert lit by a small, stationary sun. The main feature of 1216-2 is SCP-1216-3, a 400m tall pyramid with the same proportions of 1216 and composed of the same protein. 1216-3 will often slowly excrete instances of 1216 from its surface, which is impenetrable to all scans.

SCP-1217 - An Office Complex

SCP-1217 is a former office complex in Massachusetts, which demonstrates violent anomalous effects on cats that enter its radius, which are designated SCP-1217-2. Upon entering the building’s area, a 1217-2 specimen will display no significant behavioral deviations from its previous activity, apart from attempting to remain within the area of 1217 and responding aggressively to any attempts to remove it. Fifteen to twenty minutes after entering the area, affected cats will begin acting in an erratic manner. Several minutes after, they will protract their claws and attempt to repeatedly lacerate their underbellies. The cats will succeed in disemboweling themselves if unimpeded, despite the associated sensations which would result. The blood and viscera released from this process will invariably form itself into a short, semi-coherent sentence of English characters.

SCP-1218 - One-Way Glass

SCP-1218 are 32 wall-mounted mirrors composed of one-way reflective glass, with an extremely dark room visible on the far side when viewed in absolute darkness. Known as "viewing chambers", these rooms appear to have floors and ceilings of a concrete-like material with various raised platforms. Each mirror appears to link to a unique chamber sharing these same characteristics. SCP-1218-2 are creatures between 1.5 and 1.9 meters tall that are frequently visible in the viewing chambers. They appear humanoid, with heavily jaundiced skin of a leathery appearance. Each creature has four wounds on its head, holes ringed in torn flesh roughly equivalent in position to a human's eyes, nose, and mouth. Referred to as "the yellow men", the creatures wear moth-eaten suits identified as those in style during the 20th century. They also appear aware of viewers in front of 1218, and have been seen actively taking notes in what seem to be notebooks.

SCP-1219 - Whistler

SCP-1219 is either an entity or a phenomenon that manifests in sufficiently dark areas that house at least one sentient being. It manifests as a whistled version of "Camptown Races", which gradually and erratically rises in volume until it is audible to all subjects in the area. Once triggered, the song lasts for an apparently unlimited duration, generally until exposure to light has occurred. If a witness attempts to whistle, hum, sing, or otherwise join in the tune, they will be instantaneously will be dismembered and flayed, with marks similar to those inflicted by a bullwhip. 1219's whistle itself does not appear to compel this engagement, but the effect occurs rapidly and cannot be prevented by the introduction of light.

SCP-1220 - Logos

SCP-1220 is an unknown, possibly dead language that does not belong to any known language family. It is a tonal language similar to Mandarin, and shares a similar compounding structure for forming complex words. The number of phonemes used are far in excess of those used in any other language. The only known recording of 1220 is a set of three cassette cases, containing a combined 2 hours and 34 minutes of audio. The recording is of a linguistic survey with an elderly woman who states that she is one of the last native speakers of this language.
  • Language of Magic: The individual words in the language SCP-1220 can affect reality within 10 meters or so of the speaker. For example, if someone says the word "fire" in that language, something nearby will catch on fire. If the word "rain" is spoken, then rain will begin to fall.
  • Taken for Granite: One person who spoke the phrase "Having the qualities of clay" was permanently transformed into clay.

SCP-1221 - Unidentified Bus

SCP-1221 is a Mercedes-Benz O405 bus manufactured in 1989. The operation of 1221 is identical in all respects to a standard bus, and only obtained SCP classification 1 year after the Foundation acquired it. 90% of subjects who enter the bus experience no effects, whereas the remaining 10% are observed to develop a mild seizure disorder lasting anywhere from hours to years. Subjects retain no memories of their mental absences other than the occasional vague description of an "out-of-body experience". The disorder is in many respects more benign than typical disorders. Seizures are fairly rare, usually occurring yearly, and are invariably controlled with appropriate anticonvulsant medication.

SCP-1222 - Stasis Box

SCP-1222 is a bamboo box decorated with beads and shells, with a lid attached and held together by a woven thread. Any human who touches the box with both hands and gazes at its bottom half will instantly enter a state of stasis, in which they cannot be repositioned or harmed by any means. Humans in this condition are classified as SCP-1222-1. They have no vital signs and can remain in their condition indefinitely until they are touched by the skin of a live human.

SCP-1223 - Photographic Memory

SCP-1223 is a digital photo frame that features no unusual physical components. When powered on and directly observed by a living human being, 1223’s screen will alter to a flat black background with the words "HELLO" in large white text. Within six seconds of observation, 1223’s screen will again change, displaying a person or object from the observer’s life. When observed, the photo will again change after six seconds, displaying another event from the subject’s life. Once observed for several iterations, 1223 will begin displaying text captions over the displayed images, written from the perspective of an outside observer addressing the subject. Upon observing a photo, the subject will begin to develop symptoms of retrograde amnesia, experiencing difficulty remembering the events pictured in the photo and reacting with confusion if provided evidence of them. Repeated viewing of photographs will result in the subject losing all memory of the person, place, or object that was featured in the photos.

SCP-1224 - Li'l Chemist Kit

SCP-1224 is "Dr. Wondertainment's Super Science Li'l Chemist Kit!", a chemistry set often sold in retail outlets. The kits each contain a test tube rack, 5 test tubes, an Erlenmeyer flask, a small heating element, a glass stirring rod, a glass and rubber pipette, 50 brown, opaque glass bottles with paper labels, and an instruction booklet. The bottles contain a wide variety chemical compounds, including hydrofluoric acid, sodium hydroxide, colloidal silver, liquid mercury, small granules of uranium yellowcake, and several unknown compounds. The instruction booklet consists of 1 to 2-page instructions on how to conduct different experiments or create different substances or products, ranging from vinegar-and-baking soda mixtures to more complex and unusual substances, such as pellets capable of producing non-toxic purple smoke, "glow in the dark" paint capable of emitting light at 5000 lux, and "vanishing cream" capable of temporarily redirecting light around subjects it is applied to, rendering them invisible for up to 5 minutes before losing efficacy.

    1225- 1249

SCP-1225 - The Worst Christmas

SCP-1225 is a spindle-shaped glass Christmas ornament with a small loop at the top. When hung on a Christmas tree or similar plant, the ornament initiates a process of accelerated age and decay in any closed quarters within 4 meters of it. The contents of these quarters will change to reflect the signs of typical wear-and-tear that they would acquire over the course of several years. Living organisms do not die, but they will display health problems consistent with age, as well as extended malnourishment, neglect, or abuse. The process is rapid, with affected objects displaying approximately a years’ worth of aging within the first 24 hours of exposure. The ornament’s effects will also turn people frustrated and highly irritable should they remain in its presence for certain periods.
  • Emotion Bomb: Anyone who spends more than 4 hours per 24 hour period within 10-12 meters of SCP-1225 will express aggression, anger and irritability as well as decreased patience and tolerance for frustration.
  • The Grinch: SCP-1225 is a spindle shaped glass ornament. When hung on a tree or similar plant, it causes everything that's within 4 meters of it and inside a container to suffer from Rapid Aging. In other words, it's a Christmas ornament specifically designed to spoil people's Christmases by destroying their presents. The Grinch who stole Christmas would be proud of whoever created this.
  • Meaningful Name: 1225 → 12/25, i.e. Christmas Day.
  • Rapid Aging: When SCP-1225 is activated, anything within 4 meters and inside a container ages at a high rate: one year in the first 24 hours, and a total of ten years after three weeks, after which the aging stops.

SCP-1226 - Postmodernism

SCP-1226 is a large oil painting depicting, in great detail, the detonation of a nuclear weapon above a large city. When a subject views the entire painting in person, it causes an immediate mental and physical transformation. A significant increase in physical size and musculature is accompanied by a pronounced curvature of the spine, forcing a hunched, simian posture. These changes results in a sharp reduction of brain mass and an increase in cranial pressure, with a similar reduction in cerebral volume. Affected subjects exhibit a massive loss of mental capacity consistent with the reduction of brain mass, communicate only in rudimentary guttural vocalizations and simple gestures, and are concerned only with feeding, copulating, and other basic instinctual behaviors.
  • Devolution Device: When a person looks at the entire painting their body is radically changed, causing them to assume the appearance of a stereotypical caveman, including a sloping forehead and a protruding jaw.
  • Literal Metaphor: The plaque near the painting mentions that humanity will eventially devolve to "shiny chrome primitivism" and that "the post-modern era will be like the pre-modern era". People who look at it literally become premodern primitives living in the postmodern present.
  • Spooky Painting: SCP-1226 is a painting of a nuclear weapon detonating over a city. When a person looks at the entire painting they change into an unknown form of caveman and act in a brutal manner.
  • Stealth Pun: A play on the phrase "bomb them back to the Stone Age."

SCP-1227 - The Family Man

SCP-1227 is Yuri Seryogin, a political prisoner of the former Soviet Union who appears to be bonded to the heavily disfigured bodies of eight people and a dog by a red, web-like mass which has been confirmed to be his own muscles. A subject who touches his body will fall into a coma-like state as whatever part of the body that makes contact becoming fused there. They will then have their body permanently bonded to Yuri when he extrudes his own blood vessels and nerves therein. He will then take control of one or more of the victim’s vital systems by assimilating that system into his own with his nerves/blood vessels/intestines. Despite the horrific changes he has undergone, Yuri possesses human intelligence and reasoning. He has successfully learned English to a sufficiently advanced degree, and psychoanalysis shows no signs of cognitive defects or disorder of thought patterns and processing. However, it has become apparent that Yuri also harbors well-developed delusions and denials of his current state of being, often claiming that the bodies he has fused with are his "wife and children".
  • Body Horror: SCP-1227 is eight human beings and a dog somehow merged together into a single scrambled creature as a result of a horrific experiment.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: SCP-1227 once killed and ate part of a D-Class worker.

SCP-1228 - The Fan Club

SCP-1228 is a website with an unknown IP address, as well as a domain that is not registered.. If viewed by an individual with a history of creative aspirations, 1228 will appear as the homepage of the viewer’s "Official Fan Club." Although the site’s contents vary from individual to individual, a few pages appear consistently. The website contains extensive documentation of the subject’s work, reports of nonexistent events in the subject’s life invariably of a positive nature, unanimously positive discussion of the subject and their work, and a store for the purchase of merchandise pertaining to the subject's work. After viewing 1228, subjects will report feelings of depression, with 30% attempting suicide shortly afterwards.
  • Driven to Suicide: 30% of people with creative aspirations who view it attempt to commit suicide.

SCP-1229 - Thirty-Seven Films Starring Lana Neal

SCP-1229 is a series of 37 videos which each feature an appearance of Lana Neal, an obscure British actress who died in 1974. Biometric data analysis, voice recognition software, and audiovisual manipulation screenings have determined that each 1229 instance is an accurate recording, but how these recordings are made after Lana’s death is unknown. The subject material of each video varies, including nature documentaries, sitcoms, game shows, serial dramas, and other programs typically broadcast on television. The dialogue, when present and/or audible, consists of Lana appearing to read from a script or prompt outside the view of the camera, and is almost always inconsistent with the type of show the broadcast appears to be.

SCP-1230 - A Hero is Born

SCP-1230 is one of the Foundation’s friendlier anomalies. It's a green hardcover book with no apparent exceptional qualities. When opened, it displays the phrase "A hero is born" on the first page, while all other pages are blank. Upon falling asleep, the reader will dream of a fantasy world where they are the protagonist of a troubled land. Dreamers are completely cognizant, and their senses work just as well as when awake. Results will vary depending on the imagination of the reader, and are mostly attuned to fantasies of adventure that the reader would enjoy. Upon awaking, the reader is able to remember every aspect of their dream in detail. In these dreams, the dreamer will be visited by the "Book Keeper" (SCP-1230-1), a bearded man in a green cloak who is very amicable and helpful towards dreamers who meet with him, and has stated that he enjoys creating worlds for them to explore, always trying to shape them in such a way that the dreamer garners the most entertainment. He has expressed sorrow when dreams end and asks the dreamer to "please visit again soon".
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: The Book Keeper is one of the book itself.
  • Blank Book: The only written phrase in the book is "A hero is born".
  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe: The stories it conjures are generated from the readers' imagination.
  • Cool Old Guy: The Book Keeper appears as an old man who is incredibly friendly and supportive, and will help you with anything in your dreamscape.
  • Dream Weaver: The Book Keeper can create extremely realistic dreams based on your fantasies.
  • Heroic BSoD: After the aforementioned suicide, the Book Keeper spent all of his time crying and was unable to conjure new surroundings other than a dark place covered in puddles of water (presumably his own tears). The book itself became stained with tears and the passage it had in it changed from "A hero is born" to "I'm so sorry. I never intended for this to happen. I just wanted to make people happy." Fortunately, a researcher goes in there and gives him some words of encouragement.
  • Lotus-Eater Machine: A non-malicious example, the book takes people on spectacular adventures in their dreams. The Book Keeper considers it to be Gone Horribly Wrong one time it ends up actually acting like a straight example (the researcher had such a vivid imagination that he never wanted to leave the dreamworld, ultimately killing himself upon waking up). It wasn't at all his fault, but the poor guy was still utterly devastated.
  • Master of Illusion: The Book Keeper even calls his powers illusions.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: The Book Keeper's reaction when a researcher who used him for a very long time commits suicide after being woken up.
"I'm so sorry. I never intended for this to happen. I just wanted to make people happy."
  • Nice Guy: The Book Keeper. He just wants to make people happy, and has a Heroic BSoD when it went wrong. He's also extremely forthcoming with researchers; whenever they perform an experiment to test book's effects/range/etc., the Book Keeper tends to show up in their dream and happily provide his own take on the subject. The closest thing to an exception was the D-class instructed to kill himself while in his dream; he was unharmed, but the Book Keeper thought he was being rather rude.
  • Year Inside, Hour Outside: In the extreme case, a researcher spent 200 years in his dream, approximately 24 hours passed in reality.

SCP-1231 - The Theoretical Family

SCP-1231 is a black Amiga A1200 which runs independently despite the lack of a power source. 1231 only displays what is referred to as the "Primary Screen", containing 8027 thumbnails organized in rows of twenty ascending numerically. These thumbnails display extremely low-resolution videos that do not contain audio, though low-decibel sounds can occasionally be heard. Clicking a thumbnail causes the video displayed to increase in resolution and fill nearly the entire screen. Although the videos vary significantly, they consistently feature three subjects, a man, woman, and either a child or animal (known as SCP-1231-1, -2, and -3) engaged in differing activities. Although the same actions are performed repeatedly, the videos themselves do not loop, the subjects changing their activities with incredibly minor deviations. New videos are generated when a human subject misperceives an existing thumbnail.

SCP-1232 - Novosadov Syndrome

SCP-1232 is a mixture of misfolded prions capable of instigating cases of "Novosadov Syndrome", a progressively developing condition caused by the introduction of a sufficient quantity of the mixture into a human body. 1-3 weeks after introduction, the subject (designated SCP-1232-1) will become increasingly perfunctory and depressed, as well as showing a significant decrease in ability to feel sexual arousal. Subjects then show a sudden loss of appetite, as well as elevated body temperature, insomnia, and increased secretion of androgens. In addition, the menstrual cycle of female subjects is disrupted, with a large number of eggs beginning to mature. Within the next five days, the libido of 1232-1 will return and drastically increase, becoming the defining trait of the behavior of male instances, overwhelming even their survival instinct. Instances of both genders will aggressively attempt to copulate with any suitable human, often settling for animals or inanimate objects if none are available.
  • Ghostapo: The disease was apparently developed by the Germans towards the end of World War II in order to allow more babies to be produced and raised quickly as soldiers.
  • The Loins Sleep Tonight: The first stage is marked by a reduced ability to feel sexual arousal.
  • Patient Zero: The titular Novosadov was the first person the disease was isolated from.
  • Serial Rapist: The titular Novosadov (a Russian private) was a deserter charged with 37 cases of rape and sodomy after being infected.

SCP-1234 - An Abandoned Bakery

SCP-1234 is "Schmidt's Swiss Pastries", an abandoned bakery and tea room in Chicago that operated in from 1947 to 2003. The ovens and kitchen equipment remain fully functional, though appear to be in a severe state of disrepair. On an irregular basis ranging from 2 days to 17 months, 1234 exhibits a "warmup" period, during which it will become fully active within no more than 36 hours. Once active, the bakery’s windows become fully opaque, all doors and windows become completely impenetrable, and all monitoring equipment located within 1234 ceases to function. Upon conclusion of the active phase, the shelves, counters, tables, and display cases of 1234 will have been stocked with approximately 200 to 500 freshly baked pies, designated SCP-1234-1. The pies make use of any biological ingredients provided, including fruits and vegetables, non-edible plants, insects, fish, poultry, red meat, and human beings.

SCP-1235 - Atlas Microcosm

SCP-1235 is a large, illustrated atlas of the world written in German. Under microscopic analysis, details such as state names and city locations fail to appear. Instead, the atlas depicts a photorealistic satellite view of areas under magnification with SCP-1235-1, a brass achromatic microscope. Analysis of 1235 with this microscope indicates that the atlas represents a microcosm. The nations within are composed of apparently sentient beings composed of microcosmic particles on a similar scale to their non-anomalous counterparts. When 1235 is opened to any given page, time passes at a highly accelerated rate in the world it portrays, beginning from the atlas' supposed date of publication. Closing and re-opening the page resets the world within 1235 to January 3rd, 1903. The inhabitants of 1235 seem to retain awareness through the reset, and have made several attempts to prevent further interference.

SCP-1236 - Four Paintings

SCP-1236 is a series of paintings, each labeled SCP-1236-1 through -4, painted in a style reminiscent of Keith Haring and signed on the back with the name "Serl". When viewed through a remote viewing device, by way of a mirror, through a sheet of glass, or a recorded image, the paintings feature a colored background with a differently colored humanoid in the center of the image. When viewed directly, however, each image takes on a specific characteristic of the subject. 1236-1 will show a full-length portrait of a person who is the viewer regards as the ideal of physical perfection, based upon sexual orientation. 1236-2 displays an image of the viewer themselves as a physically perfect specimen. 1236-3 features a portrait of the viewer’s current or most recent significant other, rendered in the most physically and mentally appealing manner possible. 1236-4 reveals a portrait of the viewer wherein each imperfection is magnified and character flaws are obvious and horrendous.

SCP-1237 - The Epsilon Wave

SCP-1237 is a state of electrical activity in the human brain observed during periods of extremely deep sleep. Informally dubbed "epsilon wave sleep", this state is profoundly difficult to awaken the subject from. The ability to exhibit 1237 is controlled by a gene designated SCP-1237-1. Whereas individuals without this gene do not exhibit REM activity during the deepest stages of sleep, people who are 1237-1 positive have experienced dreams that may involve themselves participating in routine daily activities, finding themselves in impossible or illogical situations where people they may or may not know behave uncharacteristically, or the scenarios most persons would find terrifying. As with ordinary dreams, the subject has no apparent control over the setting or events of the dream or their actions therein. When dreaming during a 1237 state, however, the brain waves responsible for REM activity and 1237 activity interact to produce a reality-altering effect. After a 1237 event occurs, any physical or mental changes that occur to the subject in the dream will occur to their waking form as well.

SCP-1238 - Tunnelfish

SCP-1238 is a species of deep-sea fish morphologically similar to the Antarctic toothfish, which reside principally in deep waters in the northern Pacific Ocean. During the yearly spawning season, which lasts from early April to mid-July, a secondary digestive tract of sexually mature specimens becomes active, allowing the fish to digest and metabolize inorganic natural materials, particularly deposits of metamorphic rock, located below a region of the northwestern United States, designated as the "Gold Zone". During the spawning season, 1238 will gather en masse at specific sites along the ocean floor and begin tunneling through the continental shelf, widening and expanding the tunnel via consuming the existing rock. An adult 1238 can consume and metabolize approximately 120% of its body mass in minerals within a 24-hour period. Tunnels produced in this manner become the spawning grounds in which eggs are laid and fertilized. 1238 almost always return to the tunnel in which they were born in order to spawn, with tens of thousands of individuals involved in digging a single tunnel. The fish will continue to expand on a specific tunnel, occasionally forming branching tunnels, until natural phenomena cause the tunnel to collapse.

SCP-1239 - Adult Play Area

SCP-1239 is a lamp with a standard low voltage power cable, containing artificial flora with 4 flower-like lightbulbs and the words "Hey Kids!" engraved on the lid. The anomalous effects of the lamp manifest if it is powered and viewed by a post-pubescent human subject while both are within SCP-1239-2, the house it was originally found in. The subject will experience a series of conditional hallucinations where they perceive any prepubescent or pubescent individuals present within 1239-2 as highly amiable and expressing a desire to engage in play activities, perceiving all expressions of discomfort, pain, or displeasure produced by pre-pubescent and pubescent individuals within 1239-2 as expressions of pleasure or enjoyment. Upon exiting 1239-2, the hallucinatory symptoms caused by exposure to 1239 will cease.

SCP-1240 - The Mixed-up Pet Shop

SCP-1240 is a mail-order business simply known as the "Mail Order Pet Shop", whose mailing address, SCP-1240-A, locates it on a street that is not known to exist. Sending a letter with a return address to 1240 which mentions a specific type of animal will result in an instance of SCP-1240-C being delivered 5 to 7 business days later. 1240-C are animals delivered within a living environment or a means of transport, though they are never the same type of animal mentioned in the letter. In spite of this, they always imitate some of the behaviors of the mentioned animal. When the physiology of the animal would prevent the behavior from being imitated, the imitation is achieved through anomalous means. Notable specimens delivered have included a pair of hamsters that breathed water and ate flesh like piranhas, an anglerfish that ate vegetables and breathed air like a guinea pig, and a single ant that was capable of eating dead mice in the manner of a corn snake.

SCP-1241 - Livin' With Werewolves

SCP-1241 was "Livin' With Lupes", an anomalous TV sitcom which was broadcasted and transmitted via signal interruption in a roughly 8 x 8 kilometer area in Texas. The show would manifest every Tuesday for an average of 20 minutes. Analysis of the signal revealed it to be inconsistent with standard television frequencies, and attempted replications of the broadcast outside of the original area had failed. "Livin’ With Lupes" itself consisted of multiple episodes depicting the domestic life of a middle-aged man known as "Lad" and a group of 4-8 sapient humanoid dogs, who evidently shared an apartment in Los Angeles. Each episode possessed the same opening sequence, which gave a list of cast members and other individuals involved in production, but none of the named people or the individual who played "Lad" have been successfully identified. The behavior of the canids featured on the show had inconsistently varied between typical canine and more humanoid behavior with each episode.

SCP-1242 - Doppelganger Virus

SCP-1242 is an adolescent Caucasian man who communicates primarily in English and is both intelligent and generally cooperative with Foundation personnel. 1242’s anomalous feature is a retro-viral agent, hereafter referred to as SCP-1242-1, that is exuded from his orifices and glands, which is 99.9% infectious when transmitted by direct skin contact. Those infected become visually and genetically identical to 1242, and are designated SCP-1242-2. 1242-2 do not produce 1242-1 as a biological by-product, instead carrying and transmitting it as a blood-borne pathogen. They also possess intelligence commensurate to that of 1242, displaying a range of reactions and personality traits consistent to him. 1242-2 have a drive to protect 1242, and will seek out and infect individuals to propagate more instances to accomplish this goal.
  • Doppelgänger: Anyone infected by SCP-1242's virus becomes a doppelgänger of him.
  • No Name Given: He refuses to give his name.
  • Painful Transformation: Anyone infected by the virus undergoes one over the course of eleven hours to become a physically-identical copy of him.
  • The Virus: SCP-1242-2 instances are still infectious and will attempt to infect more people with the virus. However, they can only infect through blood contact, unlike SCP-1242, who can do it with physical contact.

SCP-1243 - Relocation Services

SCP-1243 is a webpage consisting of a black background, a logo on the top-center of the page advertising a "Relocation Service", a text field labeled "Name", a return field labeled "Cost", a button labeled "Place Order", and a counter labeled "Customers Served", all encoded using very simple HTML. Upon filling out the "Name" field with either a name, alias, or title of an individual, the "Cost" field will return a value, usually in US dollars, but occasionally in other forms of currency, valuable goods, or even a relative or acquaintance of the user. When the "Place Order" button is clicked, the price specified in the "Cost" field will be removed from the user's possession, the individual named in the "Name" field will appear in the vicinity of the user within a period of 12-72 hours, and the "Customers Served" counter will increase by one. The individual delivered to the purchaser will invariably be the one the purchaser meant to place an order for, even though no information other than the name, alias, or title of the individual was entered in the "Name" field, delivered by humanoid entities designated SCP-1243-2.

SCP-1244 - Universal Stopwatch

SCP-1244 is a stopwatch produced sometime in the 20th century, with an engraving on the back reading, "I'll see you soon -C". When the top button of the watch is pressed, the hand will quickly spin clockwise, reading a time between ten and sixty seconds, then counts down to the zero mark at the normal rate for a standard stopwatch. When the hand reaches zero, it stops with a loud click, coinciding precisely with an event of significance to a person within 16 meters. The event will always be normally caused by a fixed amount of time passing, and will be in progress before the button was pushed.

SCP-1245 - Whaling Ship

SCP-1245 is a whaling ship missing its nameplates and numbers which appears to be autonomous, as it has been seen pursuing whales and incapacitating them via cannon-mounted harpoons without the presence of crewmembers before dragging them into itself. 1245 has been observed hunting and processing a wide variety of cetaceans, including those not usually hunted by whalers. The majority of 1245's internal structure is taken up by a central "slaughterhouse", where whale carcasses are dissected and have their parts sorted for future use. 1245 uses tissue obtained from these carcasses to maintain its structure and build new additions to its hull, to the point where roughly 65% of 1245's current mass is made up of whale meat. Material is moved throughout the ship via a series of tubes composed from steel pipes and intestines. The ship's engine has also been heavily modified to burn whale oil and sperm, making the ship largely self-sufficient. The corpses of several infant whales in varying stages of decomposition sit on the prow of 1245, believed to be trophies.

SCP-1246 - Stone Spiral

SCP-1246 is a spiral structure, approximately fifteen meters in diameter, composed of a variety of stones. Through an unknown process, a mixture of volcanic ash and trace amounts of iridium accumulates on 1246's surface, increasing in depth at an approximate rate of 0.8mm/day. This mixture, designated SCP-1246-1, emits water vapor, carbon dioxide, and thermal and ionizing radiations in levels not considered harmful to humans or the environment in the short term. SCP-1246-2 are non-human vertebrates that view the spiral, finding a spot as close to the structure as possible. While viewing 1246, 1246-2 instances will remain in an alert state indefinitely, do not appear to require any form of sustenance or sleep, and do not suffer from inactivity-related injuries. 1246 will demonstrate further anomalous behavior whenever a nuclear device is detonated on Earth. Whenever this occurs, 1246 will emit a series of noises designated SCP-1246-3, audible up to thirty meters from its center. 1246-3 lasts no less than 13 minutes and 30 seconds, and varies somewhat between iterations, but all cases have reported that the noises themselves are sounds associated with a nuclear exchange.

SCP-1247 - LaBeouf Viewer

SCP-1247 is a 37-year-old man who, after viewing a particular recorded copy of Holes (and having his brain infected by a morel mushroom-like fungus), sees every dead or live animal (or part of an animal) as a life-sized duplicate of actor Shia LaBeouf. Testing has determined that the positions of these LaBeoufs mirror the actual movements of the animal as closely as possible, without requiring a restructuring of human anatomy. Despite the imperfect mimicry, 1247 claims that the LaBeoufs can perform the same physical feats as the animals they replace, even when this would be physically impossible for a person.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Was it the copy of Holes that gave him his anomalous properties or was it the strange fungus in his brain? It's strongly implied to be the latter (with the added fact that he happened to be watching that film at the wrong time, namely, when the fungus began infecting his brain).
  • Black Comedy: His anomalous properties are distressing, yet somehow hilarious at the same time.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Subverted—he thought he was this when he first started eating the Shia LaBeoufs he hunted in the woods, but once they were in his mouth, he realized they were ordinary animals.
  • Mind Screw: His anomalous property? Perceiving literally any animal (humans included) or severed part of an animal as a full-sized, nude Shia LaBeouf. He also cannot see any morel mushrooms.
  • Naked People Are Funny: Well, maybe not for him, but the fact that he always perceives animals specifically as a naked Shia LaBeouf is mostly played for laughs.
  • Seeing Through Another's Eyes: Cutting a morel mushroom in front of him will give him a slight headache. Burning a morel mushroom has much worse effects (for starters, the fungal infection spread further into his brain).
  • See the Invisible:
Stimulus: A wide spray of water was fired from a hose, such that it would be mostly blocked by the body of a horse, but would not be blocked by a perceived Shia LaBeouf.
Result: Shia LaBeouf remained in place, while the spray of water was blocked by an invisible barrier in the shape of a horse.

SCP-1248 - Personality Recorder

SCP-1248 is a Walkman WM-D6C with wear and tear consistent with regular usage, as well as the name "Eric" carved into the underside. 1248’s anomalous properties manifest when a person records audio with the device (the recordings being designated SCP-1248-1) and listens to said recording while one or more human voices are audible. Any subject who hears the recording will become listless and unresponsive until the recording stops or the subject is otherwise unable to hear it. Upon recovery, all subjects will exhibit the personality traits of a random person who produced sound heard in 1248-1. This change is permanent and affects all facets of the subject’s personality, though memories, intelligence, and skills usually remain unaltered.

SCP-1249 - Pestilence

SCP-1249 is a humanoid entity weighing 76 kilograms, composed entirely of many species of terrestrial invertebrates. While scans indicate the presence of a human skeleton underneath it, 1249’s flesh and internal organs have been completely replaced by the swarm, which function in place of the subject’s innards and muscular system. 1249 can assimilate normal invertebrates itself in the event it is injured, though the central skeleton is incapable of regenerating from damage. 1249 constantly excretes a clear, viscous fluid at an average of 30mL per hour. Microscopic examination has revealed that the fluid contains a variety of microbes and pathogens. The fluid appears to sustain these microbes indefinitely and allow infection to occur through skin contact.
  • Hive Mind: The individual invertebrate animals that make up SCP-1249 have human-level mental ability when they're together but normal intelligence if removed from it.
  • Plaguemaster: SCP-1249 releases a liquid that contains infectious pathogens such as smallpox, leprosy, the bubonic plague and the Ebola virus. Anyone contacting the liquid can become infected with one or more of these diseases.
  • Weakened by the Light: If The Worm That Walks SCP-1249 is exposed to light with an intensity greater than 45 candelas, it will flee and disperse over a 300 square meter area.
  • The Worm That Walks: SCP-1249 is a mass of land-based invertebrates that can form a humanoid body around a human skeleton. The invertebrates replace and function as human organs, muscles and skin.

    1250- 1274

SCP-1250 - Alternate Reality Recorders

SCP-1250 is a collection of cassettes in both audio and VHS format, respectively designated SCP-1250-1 and SCP-1250-2. Internally, they are completely indistinguishable from other tapes of similar design, and can be used via any standard audio/video recording equipment. Upon playback, there are notable differences between the content of a captured recording and the real-world occurrence that participants remember observing. While inconsistent, these alterations are initially never drastic. Situations presented in the recordings are largely the same, but subtle changes include differences in the furniture present and/or the gender/age of the recorded individuals. The only variable consistent across all samples are the exact date, time, & location, which are 100% identical in every recording.

SCP-1251 - The Accident Blackspot

SCP-1251 is a free-standing phenomenon currently centered on a small roundabout in the United Kingdom, which exerts a pseudo-gravitational force on all objects within 12m of its center. It has been determined that 1251 is able to transmit itself between roundabouts and other circular junctions, doing so at random approximately once a month. The force 1251 exerts on its surroundings is inversely proportional to the size of the intersection. Large roundabouts and junctions are generally safe to approach, while mini-roundabouts and traditional crossroads have it displaying far greater destructive potential. Ground-penetrating radar has located a metal cage consistent with a 16th century gibbet in the center of 1251, an unknown object it holds or possibly the cage itself appearing to be the source of the phenomenon.

SCP-1252 - A Half-Formed Idea

SCP-1252 is a sapient humanoid of indeterminate gender, which appears to be missing at least half of its body mass, to the point where the only limbs and organs entirely intact are the left arm, the heart, and the brain. Approximately 23% of 1252's skin and flesh appears to made of the wings from multiple species of butterfly and dragonfly, and its left eye has been replaced with a butterfly bush flower. Although capable of regeneration, 1252 does not seem to be able to fully recover any missing skin or other bodily tissues. Despite its injuries, 1252 is capable of speech and highly cooperative with the Foundation. Through interviews, 1252 has revealed that it was originally the "imaginary friend" of Susan "Suzie" May Fox, a young girl in the second grade who died in an accident as it was being created.

SCP-1253 - Quechuan Priests

SCP-1253 is a phenomenon that affects various cities in Bolivia and Peru. The occurrence of war, famine, or the deaths of prominent political leaders will result in the manifestation of SCP-1253-1, sapient automatons constructed of heavily decayed organic material capable of conversing in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Quechua. 1253-1 display various behavioral quirks, including decorating themselves with feathers, bead bracelets, and necklaces, carving various patterns onto themselves and objects, and conversing with children between the ages of 6 to 15 in their immediate area. 1253-1 are known to induct the children in a polytheistic religion bearing heavy similarity to the Quechuan religion, where they will explain the procedures for various ceremonies, the scheduling of rituals and feast days, and how to correctly conduct the sacrificial rite of Capacocha.

SCP-1254 - Paper People

SCP-1254 are the various books housed in a California bookstore, 99% of which were destroyed or irreparably damaged due to a fire that took place before it was discovered. While they appear to be standard books on the outside, closer examination of 1254 reveals the interiors had been cored out to construct several miniature civilizations. The inhabitants, known as SCP-1254-1, are miniature humanoids nearly identical to humans in every respect, except for an average height of approximately 5mm. Archeological analysis of 1254 samples suggests that these humanoids possessed either the ability or the technology to convert paper into any conceivable material. The number of distinct civilizations within 1254 corresponds to the number of different genre sections the bookstore contains. The knowledge each civilization possesses also corresponds to the types of books they inhabit, and each civilization was aware of and interacted with each other.

SCP-1255 - Grapes from Dawn Farm and Ranch

SCP-1255 is a species of grapes genetically similar to Red Globes, grown from a place known as "Dawn Farm and Ranch". Consumption of the grapes will cause the subject, referred to as SCP-1255-1, to experience a series of physical and mental changes. MRI scans have discovered the seeds within 1255 will become attached to the outer tissues of the stomach wall, where they will emit an unknown acidic substance that breaks down stomach fibers to allow the seed to enter the bloodstream. Over a period of time ranging between one week to one month, 1255-1 will feel a compulsion to seek out the nearest light source available, whereupon their veins will grow out of the skin in the form of thick, waxy vines. The subject’s fingernails will mutate into a thin wood and grow into a basket-shape. When the vines produce at least 1 kilogram of grapes, 1255-1 will regain consciousness and begin compulsively harvesting them, after which they will attempt to convince any nearby subjects to consume the grapes.

SCP-1256 - Bees Are Smarter Than You Think

SCP-1256 is a 24-page pamphlet entitled "Bees - Smarter Than You Think." The contents of the pamphlet appear to be intended as informative, though much of it is nonsensical. Individual pages do not retain any anomalous properties, and which allows the pamphlet to be excerpted without effect. Only when 1256 is read completely will its anomalous effects will manifest, an exposed subject being designated SCP-1256-1. Affected subjects will perceive all species of bee as sapient, and will attempt to manually care for the insects to the exclusion of all other activities. This action is detrimental to both 1256-1 and the insects, as attempts to collect food, repair the hive, and assist in the queens’ reproductive cycle typically result in hostility and deaths of multiple individual members of the colony.

SCP-1257 - Agent Danny of the SCP

SCP-1257 is an American-produced sitcom originally titled "Raising Danny", having produced twelve episodes in the 1970s, though only six of these episodes had aired. Acquired items associating with this sitcom include production reels for all episodes filmed (SCP-1257-1), drafts and shooting scripts for each episode (SCP-1257-2), and video recordings of the episodes aired (SCP-1257-3). The anomalous properties of Raising Danny manifest in any and all video copies produced from the original series, as well as any copies of the scripts for said episodes. Every year in mid-September, recordings and scripts will change to reflect a new season of episodes. While new seasons of Raising Danny occasionally produce hour-long "specials", copies are always limited to the first half-hour running time of the original episodes. Commercials recorded contemporaneously will also show changes consistent with the content of the show, and updated videos have occasionally shown news bulletins and weather alerts that imply multiple points of divergence between the real world and the world that continues to produce the show.

SCP-1258 - The Way of the Masters

SCP-1258 is a martial art of unknown origins. Anomalous effects will manifest when movements of the style are performed within view of a non-human mammal. A mild compulsive effect causes all such mammals (designated SCP-1258-1) to cease all non-essential activity and watch the performer. After a short period of passive observation, the animals will begin attempting to duplicate the movements to the extent they are able. Due to anatomical differences, some mammals are more capable than others of imitating these movements, but regardless of skill, they will continue practicing until either they are distracted by a pressing biological urge, or the human performer stops or leaves their field of view.

SCP-1259 - "The Ancient Prophecy"

SCP-1259 is a fragment belonging to a damaged parchment scroll, theorized to have been produced in the 1st century BCE. When directly viewed by a human being, the text on said scroll is described by the reader as being legible in a language which they are familiar with. In all documented cases, the text presents itself as a prophecy regarding the imminent extinction of mankind on a specific date within three to six months. The nature of the prophesied event varies from reader to reader, and appears to relate directly to the reader's personal beliefs and knowledge of the world. Despite infected subjects’ beliefs, none of the events prophesied in the text of 1259 have occurred, though the reader will express a belief that the text is correct and that the prophesied apocalypse will occur on the date referred to in the text. Within 7-12 days of the date referenced in the text, the affected individual will come to believe that he or she is a "chosen one" personally responsible for preventing the event from occurring, and will attempt to engage in extreme measures to prevent the event.

SCP-1260 - HMS Tiresias

SCP-1260 is an 18th-century 42-gun Royal Navy 5th-rate frigate known as the HMS Tiresias, currently adrift in the southern Pacific Ocean. Aboard the ship, the skeletal remains of the original crew, in addition to a total of 64 other individuals, lie fully intact upon the gun decks and within the hold. Twenty minutes following any boarding of the Tiresias, a large bank of fog will begin to gather around the ship, fully enclosing the ship an additional 15 minutes later, at which point all electronic devices will cease to function. The fog will dissipate ten minutes after the ship is fully enveloped, at which point the subjects will have vanished, along with anything aboard the ship at the time of encasement. The ship will reappear in a random site in the next major ocean 2 to 12 weeks later, moving from east to west as it circles the globe.
  • Derelict Graveyard: SCP-1260's pocket dimension is littered with other drifting ships that, like it, are filled with skeletons.
  • Dragged Off to Hell: The fate of anyone on board is to be taken to a realm where the skies and waters are pitch-dark, and tormented by voices until they're called by name and die. However, the ship can be escaped before the fog completely surrounds it.
  • Ghost Ship: The HMS Tiresias is a former British Royal Navy frigate that sails the oceans without a crew. If anyone comes on board, a fog starts appearing around the ship after twenty minutes and completely surrounds the ship after 35 minutes. At 45 minutes the fog dissipates and the ship has disappeared. It travels to an unknown ocean with a pitch black sky and other ghost ships sailing in it. The people aboard die one by one and when they're all dead, the ship returns to our world again.
  • Make Them Rot: How people taken by the Tiresias die; they simply wither and decay until only their skeleton remains.

SCP-1261 - Memetic Emu

SCP-1261 is a highly virulent memetic contagion which is propagated through aural vectors. Infection occurs when an individual hears and understands an infected individual mentioning or referring to the hallucinations caused by 1261. Subjects suffer from the persistent delusion that they are accompanied at all times by a sapient emu, hereafter SCP-1261-1. Infected subjects typically express close familiarity with the perceived bird, with roughly 78% of subjects expressing the belief that it has accompanied them since the age of 13, with the remainder unable to provide specific details. Descriptions of the birds’ behavior are uniformly consistent, indicating that they understand and react to human speech, demonstrate affectionate gestures towards their corresponding subject, and behave in a manner similar to trained service animals.

SCP-1262 - Seed of Destruction

SCP-1262 is a mass of plant matter roughly 30cm in diameter that is capable of highly accelerated growth when left in the presence of light, moisture, or organic tissue. 1262 has a rapid regenerative ability which makes it difficult to eradicate, as well as an innate resistance to most types of radiation, extreme temperatures, and extreme pressures. There is currently no known method to fully exterminate 1262, and if left unchecked, it will grow to form complex structures supported by hardened cellulose fiber and lignin wax plating formed in hexagonal patterns. Inside these structures, 1262 is able to produce many independently functioning organic systems for capturing and converting the ambient environment on an enormous scale.
  • Healing Factor: SCP-1262 can rapidly regenerate damage to itself, making it difficult to eradicate.
  • Kill It with Fire: SCP-1262 is immune to most types of radiation and high pressure. Heat of 180+ ºF (such as that caused by fire) is one of the few ways to destroy it. In the only known case of SCP-1262 getting loose on Earth, it was destroyed by causing an eruption and burying it in molten lava.

SCP-1263 - Talking Heads

SCP-1263 are five Caucasian sisters, designated SCP-1263-1 through -5, who have been comatose sometime before containment. Every four months, 5 disembodied human heads of variable race and gender, deisgnated SCP-1263-A, will manifest within the wombs of 1263 simultaneously. 1263-A lack connections for associated bodily systems, instead possessing a layer of skin where said connections would normally be located. Despite this, they show signs of life and seem to carry out the bodily functions that a normal human head would. Tests have shown near constant brain activity in 1263-A, which constantly emit rapid, distressed, largely unintelligible vocalizations. When at least 5 instances of 1263-A are spawned from the same member of 1263 and brought into a 1.4-meter proximity near each other, their vocalizations will begin to synchronize and eventually become fully coherent.

SCP-1264 - Resurrected Wreckage

SCP-1264 is an amalgamation of sunken ships and various pieces of oceanic debris that have been adhered together by organic secretions. The main body of 1264 is made of five WWII-era warships that were used as targets as part of the atomic bomb tests performed at Bikini Atoll. The centerpiece of 1264 is an aircraft carrier with several large jib cranes attached to its deck. The amalgamation is armed with various pieces of artillery, torpedoes, AA guns, and depth charges. 1264 spends most of its time underwater as a submersible, but is capable of speeds up to 31 knots above water. 1264 is maintained by SCP-1264-A, headless humanoid entities closely related to sea cucumbers wearing US Navy diving suits.1264-A display a deep understanding of 1264's mechanical and electrical systems, habitually performing repairs and maintenance with what is available within their designated areas. They secrete a strong adhesive through their gloves that act as a water-proof sealant, binder, filler, and cement in order to maintain the structural integrity and buoyancy of 1264. 1264-A are commanded by a single entity designated SCP-1264-1, whose only physical evidence for existence are the arterial cords that connect 1264-A to the ship's interior, which are lined with strands of neural tissue that do not originate from 1264-A.

SCP-1265 - The Mesozoic Preserve

SCP-1265 is an irregularly shaped area of land in Africa contained within the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 1265 is inhabited by several species of dinosaurs and pterosaurs known to be extinct, collectively designated SCP-1265-A. The creatures spontaneously appear in groups of five once every 30 days, and are incapable of leaving 1265, dematerializing upon crossing the border. All 1265-A instances, even carnivores, show no aggression or fear towards humans unless provoked. SCP-1265-α, also living in 1265, is a species of dinosaur that has not yet been discovered in the fossil record. Comapred to 1265-A, they are known for being unusually aggressive, and will often charge at or attempt to attack researchers and other animals indiscriminately.
  • Closed Circle: Any prehistoric creature that crosses the boundaries of SCP-1265 dematerializes and is teleported back inside; dead bodies just vanish.
  • Kaiju: The natives describe Mokele-Mbembe (tenuously identified as Camarasaurus) in these terms. The last expedition record features a Baragon sighting, which leaves the explorers deeply confused.
  • Lost World: Subverted. The jungle seems, at first, to be a lost ark of Mesozoic lifeforms; however, based on historical accounts, the Foundation estimates that the site is only about 200 years old.
  • Misplaced Wildlife: While SCP-1265 is located in the Congo, there is a disproportionate number of species from North America living there. There are also species from both the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods living together. This is likely the result of whatever force created the area.
  • Mokele-Mbembe: "Mokele-mbembe" is the name used by local tribes to refer to the sauropods living in an isolated area of the jungle. This is implied to be where African cryptid legends originate from.

SCP-1266 - Permian Ark

SCP-1266 is an engraved, metallic, ovoid object located at a former paleontology dig site in China. Through dating the surrounding strata and analysis of its primary effect, it is suggested that 1266 is at least 252 million years old, placing its presence on Earth to prior to the Permian-Triassic extinction event. Shortly after being unearthed, 1266 activated and levitated into the air, orienting itself vertically. 1266 has completely resisted any attempts to move it while continuously processing the surrounding air, altering its chemical and organic balance to resemble how it was near the end of the Permian era. The object also produces and releases seeds for many extinct terrestrial plants, as well as live specimens of terrestrial vertebrates and invertebrates commonly seen during the Permian era. It is unknown whether 1266 is somehow fabricating these specimens from stored genetic data, or releasing them from some form of stasis.

SCP-1267 - Metamorphic Mammal

SCP-1267 is a mammalian organism which currently resembles an adult female pronghorn antelope. 1267 is effectively indistinguishable from its "template" species, and all observed instances have been female. 1267 will periodically undergo an event which resembles incomplete metamorphosis, which seems to occur only after the organism has reached an age at which its template species would achieve sexual maturity. During metamorphosis, ultrasound reveals that up to 90% of the tissue in its thoracic and abdominal cavities undergoes a radical alteration into what is effectively a second, fetal organism, resembling a different mammalian species, designated SCP-1267-1. 1267 enters the final phase of metamorphosis when 1267-1 either reaches full adult growth, at which point, 1267 will become visibly distressed and show signs of disorientation. Within three hours of onset, 1267-1 will violently emerge from the previous organism's body before consuming it, regardless of the template species’ normal dietary habits.

SCP-1268 - Mass Hysteria

SCP-1268 is a man of indeterminate race with brown eyes and black hair. While he is capable of basic motor functions and self-maintenance, 1268 does not appear to be capable of communication, nor does he show signs of higher intelligence. When left to his own devices, 1268 will wander aimlessly until he is in proximity to a large group of people. In these situations, he will enter the crowd and slowly move through it. Through a process lasting 14-15 minutes, the crowd will become visibly nervous, experience disorientation and confusion, and ultimately succumb to hysteria while attempting to leave the area by any means necessary. The danger of 1268’s anomalous property varies with group size, group density, accessibility of exits, and size of exits.

SCP-1269 - Stalker Mailbox

SCP-1269 is a black aluminum curbside mailbox that lacks any manufacturer's marks. 1269's anomalous properties will manifest when a single woman 23 years or older resides within the same property as itself. Two weeks after the occupant moves in, the mailbox will manifest unaddressed letters every four days. The contents of these letters are romantic in nature, targeted towards the occupant of the house. Exactly three weeks after the appearance of the first letter, 1269's secondary anomalous properties will manifest. Letters will begin appearing daily, with their contents becoming increasingly obsessive and erratic. When not under direct supervision of the occupant, 1269 will teleport to a location near the occupant and face them. Whether or not the occupant relocates the mailbox, it will continue to teleport between a range of one to five times every twelve hours. 1269 will not follow the occupant off the property, and its anomalous properties will cease manifesting after the occupant has either moved out or died.
  • Ax-Crazy: It will smash up any other mailbox that's installed in its place, or any male that moves into the property while the object of its affections is already living there.
  • Berserk Button: Don't try to remove it from its post and replace it with another mailbox. Every attempt to replace it has ended with the new mailbox appearing behind a dumpster, smashed to pieces and covered in furious painted-on rants.
Written on destroyed mailbox #1: SHE'S MINE SHE'S MINE SHE'S MINE SHE'S MINE YOU CAN'T HAVE HER SHE'S MINE SHE'S MINE
Written on destroyed mailbox #2: FUCK YOU YOU PILE OF PLASTIC AND WOOD SHE IS MY EVERYTHING YOU ARE NOTHING TO HER IT WAS A FLING AND I KNOW IT I'M DOING HER A FAVOR
Written on destroyed mailbox #3: WHO CARES IF YOUR FLAG IS BIGGER THAN MINE I KNOW SHE DOESN'T CARE SHE ONLY SEES THE GOOD IN PEOPLE AND YOU ARE FULL OF SHIT YOU FUCKER
  • Compensating for Something: It especially doesn't like mailboxes with bigger flags.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: It's a mailbox that stalks women that live in the same property as it.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse:
    • It appears to view other mailboxes as "rivals" for its love. Whenever someone tries to replace 1269 with a different mailbox, said mailbox will disappear and turn up later in a dumpster, in some state of disrepair and sometimes with messages written on it.
    • In one test, it killed a male D-class that moved in with a female D-class three days after he moved in.
WHAT IS A MAN BUT A PILE OF SHIT THAT GETS IN THE WAY OF MY LOVE HOW CAN SHE EVER LOVE YOU WHEN YOU'RE SO EASILY BROKEN SHE NEVER EVEN LET YOU TOUCH HER I SAW THE WAY SHE LOOKED AT YOU WITH HATRED AND NOW SHE WILL LOVE ME FOREVER
  • Obsessive Love Letter: It begins manifesting these a few weeks after a woman moves in, and all are romantic in nature.
  • Stalker with a Crush: It will teleport near the occupant with partial obstruction and face them. When they are asleep or in a dark place, it will teleport to them without obstruction.
  • Stealth Pun: SCP-1269 is only attracted to females and extremely aggressive towards males. It's a male box.
  • Yandere: Falls obsessively and murderously in love with any woman who moves into the house it's positioned near.

SCP-1270 - Man with a Gun

SCP-1270 is a phenomenon localized to the top floor of a three-story office building in an industrial park. Any intrusion to the top floor triggers the manifestation of an entity resembling a man with a shotgun, henceforth SCP-1270-1, somewhere on said floor. Upon manifesting, 1270-1 will fire at intruders, pursuing them through the rooms and corridors until all intruders have either been killed, fatally injured, or driven out of 1270-1's "territory". If 1270-1 is killed, its corpse instantly vanishes as a new instance manifests elsewhere on the top floor. If 1270-1 is carried across the threshold between the main hallway and the stairwell after being captured and disarmed, it instantly vanishes and is replaced with another instance. Demanifestation as a whole also results when tissue or fabric samples from it are taken across the threshold into the stairwell, or passed out of an open window.

SCP-1271 - Kickball Field, Sheckler Elementary

SCP-1271 is a square tract of land housed on the grounds of the abandoned Sheckler Elementary School. Approximately once per year, typically within two weeks of the summer solstice, 1271 will become occupied by 16 children ranging from five to eleven years of age. All affected children demonstrate symptoms of a trance and are unwilling or unable to communicate with or acknowledge Foundation researchers in any way. Upon arriving at the field, children will begin carrying out a game of kickball according to conventional rules. Throughout the game, they will display body language indicating pleasure and enjoyment, as well as excited speech. The speech itself typically involves a syntax and vocabulary closely resembling the Unami language of the indigenous Native American population of the region.

SCP-1272 - Slow-Motion Catastrophe

SCP-1272 are four identical statues apparently sculpted by Emile Abruzzo in the early-to-mid 1950s, respectively designated SCP-1272-01, -02, -03, and -04. Early photographs of the statues depict a child between the ages of 11 and 14, wearing unremarkable Early-Renaissance garb and carrying a cloth bag. Since then, the statues have exhibited worsening topological anomalies, their w-axis deviations stabilizing at 7, 13, 19, and 23 degrees respectively. Though unknown at the time, permitting objects with summed w-deviations of greater than 38 degrees to approach within 41 meters of the statues results in the manifestation of SCP-1272-05, a nongravitational singularity which results from mishandling of the statues. SCP-1272-06 is a man between the ages of 27 and 35, with dark blue pigmentation of his skin and clothes, rendering his facial features persistently difficult for observation. Presuming a logarithmic decrease in the rate of subjective time on approach to the singularity, 1272-06 is presently moving at 41% of the speed of light.
  • Super-Speed: SCP-1272-06, one of 1272's inhabitants, is a man currently approaching the exit of SCP-1272 at 41% the speed of light - 122,914,908 metres per second, or approximately 274,952,818.5397 miles per hour. Should he successfully exit SCP-1272 and be unable to stop, the results could be catastrophic.
  • Stranger in a Familiar Land: When the SCP teams that were sent inside SCP-1272 finally emerge centuries later, they are expected to experience readjustment shock, including wondering what has happened to their relatives (who are probably all long dead).
  • Time Dilation: SCP-1272 is a non-gravitational singularity (similar to that of a black hole/hypermass) that tremendously slows down the passage of time inside its area.
  • Year Outside, Hour Inside: The Time Dilation effect associated with SCP-1272 causes time to pass inside it at a rate of only 184 nanoseconds per hour outside.

SCP-1273 - Stuck

SCP-1273 is a children's nightlight designed to resemble a rabbit. The object functions as a non-anomalous nightlight for the first thirty minutes of being connected to a power source and turned on, after which, an entity designated SCP-1273-A, will manifest in the area containing the nightlight. 1273-A appears to be a Caucasian female humanoid resembling a 16-year old teenager that refers to itself as "Abigail Lawrence", a citizen of the town of where 1273 was initially discovered who was reported dead. Abigail is visually indistinguishable from a non-anomalous human, though she is unable to make physical contact with anything that is not a boundary of the room currently housing 1273, or leave the room she manifests in, typically appearing to be distressed and attempts to remove 1273 from its power source,

SCP-1274 - Dance Craze

SCP-1274 is a dance that is able to spread a proprioceptive memetic hazard. The dance is done in groups in a "follow the leader" fashion, with one dancer performing a series of moves which are then emulated by the other participants. Transmission of the memetic agent only occurs when a specific sequence of movements is performed by a subject, hereafter known as SCP-1274-1. Shortly after infection, subjects experience powerful euphoria and increased empathy with other dancers. Additionally, instances of 1274-1 display increased suggestibility and sexual receptiveness, a reduced need for sleep leading to chronic insomnia, and progressive abnormal involuntary movement disorder.

    1275- 1299

SCP-1275 - Silent Bandit

SCP-1275 is an amorphous fluid entity of variable volume, shape, color, and opacity. It is affected by gravity and cannot pass through solid materials, yet registers no weight regardless of its current size. 1275 is capable of forming itself into any shape, usually taking on the shape, color, and opacity of objects around it. If free, it attempts to envelop classified documents, SCP artifacts, or Foundation personnel. Upon enveloping an object, it will turn opaque and rapidly decrease in size, while the object will disappear from the inside. On occasion, it will attempt to disgorge explosives, weaponry, anomalous objects, and hostile agents in order to breach its containment. Observed behavior patterns indicate 1275 is either sapient or controlled by an outside intelligence. It attempts to avoid observation by blending in with its surroundings and remaining motionless.

SCP-1276 - Venusian Launch Pad

SCP-1276 is a 2700-year-old step pyramid of presumed Mayan construction. The structure is heavily engraved and believed to have been dedicated to astronomy and astrology. The anomalous property of 1276 is centered at a platform atop the structure, on which lies a 3.1m square metallic plate of unknown composition. Unlike the rest of the structure, this platform shows no sign of aging and is heavily engraved with Ancient Mayan hieroglyphs. Whenever Venus rises over the horizon, the platform is momentarily suffused with a blue glow, after which all living human subjects standing on the platform are instantly accelerated into the atmosphere through unknown means. Ground- and satellite-based observatories have tracked and confirmed that all such subjects are launched in the direction of Venus and, barring outside intervention, will enter its atmosphere within a period of three to twenty-four hours after launch, depending on the relative distance between Earth and Venus.

SCP-1277 - Thirsty Cactus

SCP-1277 is an adult Saguaro cactus with a height of 3.7 meters and a weight of 37 kilograms. Located approximately 15 meters away from the cactus is SCP-1277-1, a male human skeleton that does not appear to suffer from degradation from time or exposure. Attempts to remove the skeleton have met with failure, due to 1277-1 materializing itself next to 1277 if it is more than 15 meters away from the cactus. Anytime a being capable of communicating in English moves within 15 meters of the skeleton, 1277 will begin to emit vocalizations through unknown methods. The cactus' vocalizations consist of pleas to be given water and asking for shelter from the desert, occuring whether or not 1277 is in the presence of a desert or water.

SCP-1278 - A Picture Frame

SCP-1278 is a photo frame composed of a pinewood frame, painted gold, with a glass cover and a cardboard backing. A stainless steel latch is present on all four edges of the backing, opening the latches allowing access to the interior of 1278. 1278's unusual properties manifest when a photograph or similar piece of 2-dimensional art is inserted into the object. The image will briefly "shimmer" and waves will be seen radiating from its center, visually similar to ripples on the surface of a pond. After a period of between 1-3 minutes, the frame will function as a 2-way portal between the 2 locations. Removing the rear of 1278 allows the image to be removed, at which point the portal closes. The other end of the "window" appears as a 36x30cm rectangle, apparently 2-dimensional, with one side acting as a portal to the location of the object and the other absorbing all frequencies of electromagnetic radiation.

SCP-1279 - People Dogs

SCP-1279 are six leather dog collars, each possessing a tag reading "Dog Inc. Dog Process Collar". No anomalous physical properties are present in the collars, and their anomalous properties do not become apparent until one of them is instance is worn by a canine. Hereafter referred to as SCP-1279-1, the canine will be perceived by any individuals who encounter it as having human-level intelligence. They will still be aware that it is a canine, but they will internally anthropomorphize them, believing that it is capable of speech and reasoning.
  • Funny Animal: The SCP consists of a set of dog collars that cause people who see any dogs wearing them as being capable of speaking and reasoning. Once, a dog was even arrested for "public indecency".

SCP-1280 - Mematodes

SCP-1280 is a parasitic nematode superficially identical to the New World Hookworm. Infestations in humans can cause all of the typical symptoms of hookworm infection, but 1280 differs from hookworms in several respects, such as a number of novel sequences appear in the place of redundant genes. These enzymes and hormones do not appear in the other genomes of any other living thing, and it is believed that they are responsible for the worms’ anomalous effects. Adult worms periodically release a complex mixture of hormone analogues and modified neurotransmitters into the host's bloodstream, some of which cause subtle changes in the hippocampus and other regions of the brain via an unknown mechanism. Hosts experience significant improvements to their spatial and visual memory, increasing to the point where photographic recall is achieved. Host brains also begin to excrete chemical messengers back into the bloodstream, which the worms filter from the blood and store in a diverticulum off of their gut.

SCP-1281 - The Harbinger

SCP-1281 is a roughly teardrop-shaped, biomechanical entity originally found within the Kuiper belt, dated to be at least 1.3 billion years old. When observed, it seemed to have difficulty coping with temperatures much warmer than the Kuiper belt. It was also apparently capable of interstellar travel, but most of its systems were damaged by an unknown event that left it stranded and almost entirely dormant when it was found. The only signs that it was active were faint lights running along its surface. It had apparently been collecting radio signals for some time, but no sign of other functions could be detected until Foundation staff approached, at which point it began broadcasting binary signals in an attempt to communicate, starting with extremely simple mathematical concepts. However, after a report was transmitted back to Earth, it stopped broadcasting for several days. It was eventually deciphered that 1281 was sent by a long-extinct race of aliens, and its message is one of inspiration in the hopes of intergalactic peace.
  • The Anti-Nihilist: It was created by a dying race who made it their final mission to pass on a message of hope across the universe.
"We are all small, and the universe is vast. But a universe with voices saying "I am here" is far greater than a universe silent. One voice is small, but the difference between zero and one is as great as one and infinity."
  • Dead Man Writing: The message provided by SCP-1281 starts out:
"This is our harbinger. It brings good tidings. We will be dead when it reaches you. Our planet is dying. We do not have time to save ourselves. We only have time to ready ourselves, and to send a message."
  • Died Happily Ever After: Its last words are "Then I am well."
  • Fling a Light into the Future: Its creators are long gone, but they were at least able to create it to at least spread hope to those that come after.
  • Heroic RRoD: With its cooling system broken, its brain overheats and it dies after delivering its message.
  • Hulk Speak: Downplayed. Harbinger speaks mostly in sentence fragments before it delivers its message.
  • Organic Technology: Contains several organic components, including a brain.
  • Time Abyss: At least 1.3 billion years old, though it spent most of that time in a dormant state in the Kuiper Belt; At the time whoever sent it our way launched it, the Earth was in the midst of the Mesoproterozoic Era, around the time multicellular organisms began to evolve.

SCP-1282 - Reverse Were-Rabbits

SCP-1282 are five white rabbits, identified as SCP-1282-1 through -5, that were rendered chemically infertile before containment. If the rabbits are outdoors when the moon is full, their physique will undergo an anomalous transformation, turning them into beings resembling human hunters. After undergoing this process, 1282 will display sentience, near-human intelligence, and unique personalities. They are able to speak in American English, control their bodies, and exhibit self-awareness. If spoken to, they will express interest in being allowed to hunt animals, focusing primarily on other rabbits. The transformed rabbits will communicate with one another about methodology and techniques of hunting. When allowed to hunt, 1282 will attempt to hunt and consume any rabbit they previously lived with, focusing largely on their mates and children, with social associates also being targeted.

SCP-1283 - Radio Panic

SCP-1283 is a 1930s home radio which shows very little damage and wear despite its age. Despite the object's obsolete parts, it has shown to be capable of receiving signals and playing consistently high quality sound, with very little noise or interference. 1283's anomalous effects become apparent when a subject listens to it for more than 15 minutes, regardless of what frequency the radio is tuned to. When this amount of time has passed, a voice, hereafter referred to as SCP-1283-1, will address the subject by name. After 1283-1 has gained the subject's attention, it will provide the subject with information regarding an upcoming event, referred to as SCP-1283-2. 1283-1 then delivers a set of instructions to the subject, with an assurance that following them will stop the event. The instructions vary from simplistic and easily performed to complex and dangerous, and it is at this point that the subject's anxiety will have grown into severe panic, indicating an intense desire to perform the instructions presented to them and avert the threatened event. Attempts to stop the subject from doing so have resulted in pleading, threats, and in some cases, violent resistance, followed by the subject being rendered inconsolable.

SCP-1284 - The Moon's Child Bride

SCP-1284 are a number of premenarchal women who have undergone severe, permanent, and apparently-spontaneous alterations in physiology and psychology. All instances of 1284 can be considered to suffer from a unique psychosis, answering only to any fair approximation of "Moon's Bride" in any language. On nights of a full moon, when 1284 is under high stress or exposed to direct moonlight, one or more of their limbs will dislocate and detach from an instance. Over the course of five seconds, each limb will assemble into SCP-1284-2, carnivorous, quadrupedal masses of flesh with rudimentary mouths and teeth. When viewed directly, 1284-2 give the visual illusion of being domesticated rabbits, but indirect viewing or tactile examination reveals that they are in fact hairless and mostly skinless, lacking a distinct head, tail, or sensory organs. 1284-2 will invariably attack and attempt to consume any living being they have an unobstructed path to. As they consume tissue, 1284-2 incorporate their food into their own mass, increasing in size until it reaches a total weight of 6.2 kilograms. At that point, it will begin to rapidly reorganize its constituent tissue, and over a period of 7 seconds, split into two 3.1-kilogram instances of 1284-2.
  • Bigger on the Inside: When SCP-1284-2 feeds itself to SCP-1284-1, SCP-1284-1's stomach interior size increases enough to hold all it's being fed, but the exterior dimensions of SCP-1284-1 do not change.
  • Flesh Golem: SCP-1284-2 are made from the flesh of their victims and SCP-1284-1
  • For the Evulz: The only explanation ever given for why these girls suffer from periodic outbreaks of ravenous Body Horror deathbeasts and ultimately die?
    SCP-1284-1/1: It is his right.
  • Glamour Failure: SCP-1284-2 are actually headless four-legged lumps of flesh with mouths.
  • Hair-Raising Hare: SCP-1284-2 have a glamour that makes them look like this when viewed directly.
  • Healing Factor: SCP-1284-1 can regrow limbs, provided the raw material.
  • Lunacy: Everything about this SCP ties back to the Moon in some way. Moon's bride, rabbits, activation by moonlight and/or the full moon, death by moon blood...
  • Mook Maker: SCP-1284-1 produces SCP-1284-2.
  • Noodle Incident:
As of Incident 1284-1/5-009, testing with non-natural (invented) languages must be signed off by SCP-1284-1's psychologist and at least two linguists of Level 3 clearance or above familiar with SCP-1284-1's circumstances.
  • Old Man Marrying a Child: Each instance of SCP-1284-1 is a pre-menarchal girl who identifies herself as her "king's" bride. Their "marriage" is "consummated" when she gets her first period and bleeds to death. The Foundation has been containing this one for decades, and Word of God states that it's actually been happening for centuries.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour: Acknowledged in-universe. SCP-1284-1/1's interviewer squirms when she starts talking about the Old Man Marrying a Child stuff.
  • Weakened by the Light: If SCP-1284-2 is exposed to sunlight it will spontaneously liquefy.
  • Wife Husbandry: Although the Reality Warper responsible for the anomaly does not physically raise SCP-1284-1, they are nonetheless shaped from a very early age by the Body Horror and Mind Rape inflicted on them.

SCP-1285 - The Wooden Movie Prop

SCP-1285 is a wooden sculpture depicting an armless, headless humanoid with root-like structures protruding from its shoulders, sitting on a concrete pedestal that has "Nature’s Embrace" engraved on its back. When placed indoors, the roots of the sculpture will begin to grow at a rate of 1 meter per day. Should the roots reach a surface of non-organic material, they will produce pigments to match the surface and will attempt to grow through any cracks present. Once inside, the roots will not continue to grow until a human subject falls asleep in said room. At this point, the roots will begin a period of rapid flower growth, followed by an attempt to dislodge one of the subject's eyes, leaving a flower designated SCP-1285-1 that connects directly to the subject's brain. 1285-1 will attract nearby insects to "pollinate" 1285 through use of the flower. Six hours after consumption, subjects will experience stomach pains, headaches, hemorrhaging, and vomiting, increasing in intensity over a 72-hour period. At this point, the subject becomes an instance of SCP-1285-3, and are hostile towards all mammalian life, attempting to wound them to the point of immobility.

SCP-1286 - Sad Man

SCP-1286 is a plastic replica of the "Fat Man" atomic bomb housing an acrylic drawing of a frowning man and a small loudspeaker on the rear. 1286, identifying itself as "Jeffrey", occasionally communicates through this device. Sounding depressed, morose, and maniacal and/or suicidal, Jeffrey claims to be a functioning nuclear device that aspires to detonate in a particularly massive and destructive explosion. This presents great difficulties to personnel left to monitor him, who debate/argue with him about the results of his detonation and his compulstive desire to do so. When approached, Jeffrey will begin rocking back and forth on its own volition. The only confirmed anomaly regarding Jeffrey itself is the tendency of personnel in charge of containing him to gather around the live feed from his containment cell whenever he begins rocking.

SCP-1287 - Closure

SCP-1287 is a rectangular marble structure located within the state of Washington that cannot be moved or altered in any way, including graffiti, etchings, and high-speed impacts. At irregular intervals, the names of individuals confirmed to be missing or presumed dead will appear engraved into the structure. When a sapient organism makes physical contact with one of the names, that subject will report hearing a voice. The voice will always administer the same message to the person: "This person’s family needs you. Will you give your life to help them?" If the person audibly responds positively, they will immediately be transformed into a physical duplicate of the person whose name they touched, hereby designated as an instance of SCP-1287-A. These subjects will also gain the memories and information regarding that person, including the events of their disappearance, as well as a strong urge to return to their family and/or loved ones. If allowed to do this, 1287-A will lose all sense of their former personality over the course of three months and will eventually completely believe that they are the missing person.

SCP-1288 - Timely Encouragement

SCP-1288 is a cylindrical object with a density, angular momentum, and refractive index consistent with glass. The interior depicts the equivalent location in what has been determined to be an alternate timeline, believed to have diverged in approximately the late 14th to early 15th Centuries. The world depicted is frozen in a single moment which astronomical observations from multiple locations indicate is the Winter Solstice of 2012. Examination of the few easily accessible historical documents shows that the point of divergence majorly depended on the choices made by Admiral Zheng He, whose fleet explored the west coast of the Americas, forming a strong trade relationship between China and the Mayan Empire. While North America saw limited European colonization, attempts at conquest of Central and South America were unsuccessful due to Chinese technologies and manpower, which allowed the ruling parties there to remain in control. As a result, Europe plays a smaller role in this timeline, which is primarily dominated by the Sino-American alliance.
  • Americasia: SCP-1288 is a glass cylinder that shows an alternate universe where Admiral Zheng He and his fleet explored the west coast of the Americas.
  • Apocalypse Wow: Its dimension heard about our 2012 Mayan Apocalypse (along with the Y2K bug scare) and decided they should get in on that. The "Wow" factor is from the giant Mayan pyramids (apparently nuclear power plants) at the center of every major city.
How you have concluded that the end of the calendar signifies the end of all things, we can not be sure. Before we saw you, we thought it only a way to tell the passing of seasons and kings. Your reckoning of time inspired us and urged us to take action.
We have left you this record to show you how we succeeded. For a hundred years, you have only waited for the end to come. From this, we concluded that we must instead bring it about. Please, study it so that you might properly plan in the next thousand years.

SCP-1289 - Charbon's Obol

SCP-1289 is a coin of indeterminate origin. The obverse of the coin depicts a Greco-Roman profile, while the reverse depicts a robed man piloting a gondola. Under specific circumstances, the coin will jump and begin flipping in midair under its own power. If pinned, encased, or otherwise restrained from jumping, the coin will pulverize any material interfering with its flipping. When allowed to land on a surface, the coin never bounces, rolls, lands on edge, or otherwise displays any level of ambiguity concerning its heads or tails result. The coin’s landing directly correlates to the survival or death of people of significance, defined as those who will directly influence global events and culture.

SCP-1290 - Imperfect Teleporter

SCP-1290 is a pair of prototype electronic devices built by Prometheus Labs as part of their research into long-range teleportation. Each device consists of a platform 2m in diameter attached to a 5m x 20m x 3m main unit, both of which draw power from a dedicated generator. The two copies are located at diametrically opposed locations of Earth, with one (SCP-1290-1) in Colombia and the other (SCP-1290-2) in Singapore. When an object is placed on the platform of 1290-1 and the main unit is activated, the object is instantaneously teleported to the platform of 1290-2. Due to what is suspected to be a flaw in the design or engineering of the devices, the object retains its orientation and velocity relative to the axis of the earth. When a stationary object enters 1290-1, it exits 1290-2 upside-down and traveling east at approximately 930 miles per second.

SCP-1291 - Football Gods

SCP-1291 is Roy Wilson, head coach of the Mississippi River College Moccasins. He appears Caucasian with greying blond hair, is 40 years old, and is wheelchair bound. Background checks reveals that Roy had connections with the Serpent’s Hand, and has been possessed by SCP-1291-1, an entity he attempted to summon to improve the Moccasins’ performance in football. Roy’s possession means that he does not need to eat, drink, or breathe, and though he is capable of vocalization and movement, Roy has so far not demonstrated any ability to walk and speak coherently, but frequently attempts to move in ways not anatomically possible in a human body. Physical contact with him is universally fatal, as he somehow causes rapid growth of cancerous tumors throughout the body within a week. Continued exposure to Roy results in full-sensory hallucinations and increasingly disorganized thought and speech patterns developing after 48 hours. All subjects who have made eye contact or spent over 96 hours in his presence are rendered comatose.

SCP-1292 - Contagious Scantron Disease

SCP-1292 is an electronic fault spread between Scantron multiple-choice scanning devices. While the route of transfer is unknown, the fault has been found to spread between scanners connected on the same network or electrical circuit, as well as between machines within 30 meters of each other in open space. Once affected, a machine will take an abnormally long amount of time in marking a multiple-choice sheet, and may have one or several effects emerge while marking. Sometimes, specific dots will be marked incorrectly in order to spell out words such as "CAB" "BAD" and "BED", and other dots will be marked incorrectly in order to create diagonal or vertical lines if the dots were to be filled.

SCP-1293 - Squeedle Deedle Dee!

SCP-1293 is a species of humanoid creatures of unknown origin. Each specimen is unique in appearance, although they all generally resemble costumed humand. Autopsies performed on deceased specimens have shown that 1293 are completely unclothed, with skin, bone, and muscle tissue mimicking various fabrics. Female instances, designated SCP-1293-A, vocally communicate in English, speaking with masculine voices in a cheerful manner. Male instances, designated SCP-1293-B, are mute, lethargic, and highly reclusive, avoiding contact with human beings and other specimens. SCP-1293-C are malevolent entities produced by 1293-A that are not impregnated via the established containment method. They differ from other specimens in that they possess large teeth, multiple arms, prehensile tongues, and elongated talons. Further, they are openly hostile toward human beings and will attempt to mutilate any individual they encounter.
  • Emotion Eater: It's been speculated that these creatures trick human beings into feeling certain emotions so they can feed on them. Type A feeds on feelings of unease and perturbation, and Type B feeds on feelings of confusion and bewilderment.
  • Monstrous Humanoid: They look like human beings wearing costumes, but the costumes are actually part of their bodies. The female versions bear their young live through their mouths, and the young are born fully mature in intelligence and size.
  • Telepathy: Every 45 days, SCP-1293-B gather together and perform a dance routine. The Foundation believes that the precise coordination they display is achieved due to them being telepathic.

SCP-1294 - The Laughing Fox

SCP-1294 is a male fennec fox measuring 27cm in length and weighing approximately 1.1 kilograms, composed entirely of a fungal material which replicates its skin, skeleton, and fur. 1294 continuously exhales a toxin containing heavy amounts of psilocybin and muscimol. Subjects exposed to the fox for longer than 2 minutes will enter an increasing state of euphoria until removed from its presence. Subjects exposed for longer than 5 minutes have shown to be highly resistant to pain, behaving in a similar manner to those under the influence of a psychedelic drug. If 1294 sees a subject in this state, it will lie on or against the subject to rest. 1294's skin will then appear to melt and grow over the subject, later shifting it into the fox’s being abdomen. 1294 has shown no limit to what it can envelop, and is capable of processing over 190 metric tons of food in one week.
  • Bizarre Alien Reproduction: SCP-1294 is a fungus that reproduces by mating with a female fennec fox. Its offspring grows inside the fox and eventually escapes as a Chest Burster.
  • Chest Burster: After SCP-1294 mates with a normal female fennec fox, the fungus will grow inside the fox and eventually burst out of its chest. Once outside it will assume the standard shape of a SCP-1294 instance.
  • Face Full of Alien Wing-Wong: SCP-1294 is a type of fungus that takes the form of a fennec fox. When a female fennec fox is overcome by SCP-1294's euphoria gas, SCP-1294 will mate with it. This implants a fungus that will grow inside the female fox.
  • Festering Fungus: SCP-1294 is a type of anomalous fungus that takes the form of a fennec fox. It reproduces by mating with real female fennec foxes.
  • Fungus Humongous: SCP-1294 reproduces by mating with a female fennec fox. Fungus created inside the fox will exit the body as a Chest Burster and expand all the way to the ceiling of the room it's in.
  • Non-Indicative Name: The SCP isn't actually a fox, but a form of fungus masquerading as a fox.

SCP-1295 - Meg's Diner

SCP-1295 are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who accidentally arrived on Earth early after they mistook the bombing of Hiroshima for the End of Days. Taking the guises of ordinary old men, they patronize a roadside diner known as "Meg's Good Eatin'" between 09:00 and 18:00 every day, where they pass the time waiting for Armageddon eating and engaging in small talk while being monitored by Foundation agents disguised as customers and diner employees. Their anomalous properties manifest when one or all of them are prevented access to the diner or are removed by force. SCP-1295-1 (War/"Warren") will prompt all persons 100 meters from him exhibit extreme lethargy and a complete lack of a sense of self-preservation. SCP-1295-2 (Famine/"Frederick") will prompt those in a 500-meter radius from him lose their ability to distinguish between edible and inedible matter, and will often endanger themselves or others in attempts to consume unsuitable nourishment. SCP-1295-3 (Pestilence/"Pat") will prompt the bodies of those caught in an area of approximately 50 meters around him to lose all microbial lifeforms. Lastly, SCP-1295-4 (Death/"Dwight") will prompt everyone within 150 meters from him to experience a sharp increase of self-preservation, to the point of paranoia and hypochondria.
  • Dirty Old Man: All four SCP-1295 instances are elderly men, and SCP-1295-1 shows an interest in the younger waitresses.
  • Horsemen of the Apocalypse: They got stuck on Earth after they mistook the Hiroshima bombing for the end of the world.
  • Louis Cypher: They go by the names Warren (the most obvious one), Frederick, Pat, and Dwight. You may know them better as War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death. One tale even says Pat replaced Carl, aka Conquest (its usual name in the Bible).
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: The SCP-1295 instances willingly hang out in the diner to kill time until the end of the world comes. Attempting to remove them from it leads to bad things happening.
  • Walking Wasteland: If any SCP-1295 instance is forcibly removed from the diner, they start causing adverse effects in an ever-increasing area around themselves. Interestingly, their powers are the opposite of what the respective Horseman represents: 1295-1 (War) makes people completely lethargic, 1295-2 (Famine) makes people eat anything they get their hands on, 1295-3 (Pestilence) kills all microbial life around him, and 1295-4 (Death) turns people into hypochondriacs.

SCP-1296 - Dial-a-Llama

SCP-1296 is a harmless and somewhat nonsensical anomaly. It happens to be a delivery service identifying itself as "Dial-a-Llama", which specializes in delivering non-anomalous llamas and related species. Upon calling the company’s phone number, callers will be put in contact with a sales representative, henceforth referred to as SCP-1296-a. A Volga M24 belonging to the company carrying the requested order will manifest within the caller's area two hours later. Attempts to track the delivery vehicle have failed as attached GPS devices cease function after the car leaves left a customer’s view. 1296 will always manifest with a single driver of varying appearance, and two to eight llamas in addition to whatever specimen was ordered.

SCP-1297 - A Jar of Toenails

SCP-1297 is a glass jar 20cm in height, with a plastic, screw-on lid. The contents of the jar are human toenail clippings in various states of decomposition. The precise volume of the jar, as well as the number, age, and composition of the clippings housed, cannot be determined due to the item’s anomalous properties. Whenever a clipping is removed from the jar, 1297 will project a unique temporal displacement field. It has been determined that the difference between the year recorded within the jar and the year recorded by observers outside increases both with duration of activity and the number of clippings removed. Although the clippings can be manually removed and replaced without triggering the temporal effect, the jar will open at random intervals, eject a random number of clippings covered in an unidentified viscous, sticky, malodorous brown humor (designated SCP-1297-1). Direct skin contact with the substance causes intense abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting in all subjects.

SCP-1298 - The Doorstep Babies

SCP-1298 are animate replicas of human babies constructed of steel and plastic, with rubber skin and glass eyes. These faux babies exhibit mobility, vocalization, awareness, and reactions consistent with biological babies roughly three to six months of age, though they show no reaction to visual stimuli. Disassembly has shown that they house no electronic components, power sources, or complex machinery, though they maintain a temperature roughly analogous to human norms. Though instances consume milk or soft foods, they do not produce waste and anything ingested will remain inside the predominantly hollow interior. 1298 are delivered by unknown means to the doorsteps of chosen subjects between the hours of 3 and 5am, contained inside a woven basket and wearing a stitched one-piece wool garment. Accompanying each instance is an envelope containing a handwritten note. Each note is unique, containing a collection of common words interspersed with randomly selected letters.

SCP-1299 - Drowning Tub

SCP-1299 is a white porcelain-over-steel freestanding bathtub. When a living human touches one of the two handles on 1299, the tub will begin filling with water. Once the tub is filled, an invisible force, designated SCP-1299-1, will pull the subject into the tub and force them underwater. An imprint of a pair of hands will appear around the subject's neck should they attempt to escape. Barring outside intervention, the subject will invariably drown, at which point the water will drain via unknown means. If no living body has touched the handles or is in the room by the 26th night of each month, 1299-1 will manifest and leave the tub, leaving a trail of wet, humanoid footprints. It will seek out the nearest living human body, which it will drag back to 1299 and begin to drown.
