    Invaders in General
The aliens who arrived 13 years ago to invade Earth. These Invaders engaged in a war with humanity, but after just one year of fighting, they ended up suffering a total defeat. This is thanks to the appearance of the 5 Dragon Keeper Rangers, who were able to defeat the Evil Kaijin Army's top Executives, and forced the Invaders' remaining footsoldiers, the Dusters, into slavery.
  • Alien Invasion: They arrived on Earth to try to take over the planet, but failed to do so after a year of fighting. What stopped the invasion was the appearance of the 5 Dragon Keepers, who ended the war by disposing of the Invaders' Executives, and then forced their footsoldiers into slavery.
  • Ambiguous Gender: The executives look like what you'd expect from a Sentai monster and the footsoldiers' default forms look like generic faceless humanoids. Some footsoldiers have preferred types of disguises, like D, who prefers male disguises, and XX who prefers female, though it's unclear if this even counts as "gender". The anime even keeps this up by casting different people for them of varying ages and genders.
  • Deity of Human Origin: According to Yakushi, The Dusters are actually one single living organism separated from their core; the sky fortress and are the actual gods of the world rather then the dragons. It was Yellow Keeper who split them up using his experiments with the Divine Tools to get rid of the qualifications necessary to wield them, and all the cultists of Hwalipon were in fact correct in their belief... just not exactly 1 to 1 correct.
  • Evil Plan: World Domination.
  • Red Shirt Army: In the Sunday battles the Footsoldiers are cannon fodder for the Keepers to cleave through while their Executive leaders make their hasty get away.
  • The Reveal: Later on, it's revealed that the Invaders aren't actually aliens from another planet, but were one of Yellow Keeper's experiments gone horribly wrong.
  • Take Over the World: They arrived on Earth attempting to pull this off, but due to the arrival of the Dragon Keepers, they failed.

The Twelve Executives

    Executives in General
The twelve strongest members of the Kaijin Army. The footsoldiers were under the belief that all the Executives were axed off during the one-year war with humanity, but it eventually turns out that there's a few remaining Executives still alive and hiding amongst humanity to push forward their own agendas. The latter being something that Footsoldier D doesn't appreciate as it means that the Executives abandoned their loyal footsoldiers. Thus, pitting D against them as well.
  • Dwindling Party: There used to be twelve of them, but the war with the Rangers would reduce their numbers to only five. Only those representing the Rooster, Snake, Horse, Monkey, and Rabbit are left roaming.
  • Eastern Zodiac: Each Executive is based on one constellation from the Eastern Zodiac.
  • Eviler than Thou: The Rangers are a corrupt system led by a murderous sociopath, but most of the Executives are genuinely out to kill and destroy indiscriminately in their plans to Take Over the World, and definitely treat their minions worse. For as much as the Footsoldiers have every reason to be upset with the Rangers, the Executives are bad enough a threat to jump past Evil Versus Evil and downplay even Red Keeper's bastard nature.
  • The Minion Master: All of them have the ability to make Footsoldiers and their souped up beast forms. The Footsoldiers hold them in a sort of parental regard because of this.
  • Raised in a Lab: Shinya reveals to D he created the Executives.

    Peltrola

Peltrola

Voiced by: Hōchū Ōtsuka

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/executivegod_8.png
"Are you my followers as well? Then let me save you, too."

The "Rooster" of the 12 Executives who has multiple wings, a robe, and a halo of crystals on top of his head. Peltrola's a well-mannered yet vicious invader who views himself as a "god." Thus, he took advantage of the grief and confusion of the humans during the war by having a cult where said humans revered him and his race as "gods", and delivering them "salvation" through death. After disappearing following the war, Peltrola suddenly reappears in the present to infiltrate the Bailong's Nest ranger training facility in order to retrieve his loyal Footsoldier, XX. This couldn't have come at a worse time for D and the other cadets, who were in the midst of their Bailong Exams to become official rangers.

  • A God Am I: Carries himself as the new God of Earth in the wake of the war and even invokes it when he emerges from his tree form during the Bailong exams. Whether he's always had a god complex prior to coming to Earth or the cults that formed around him stroked his ego is unknown.
  • Arc Villain: Along with Blue Keeper, Peltrola serves as one of the main villains of the Bailong Exams arc that D and company fight against. In the end, Peltrola gets away.
  • Animal Motifs: Birds. The form he's introduced with has angelic wings, one of his combat ready forms has a chicken-like head, and the smallest form he can take is a little round bird. According to the Eastern Zodiac theming, he is supposed to represent the Rooster.
  • All Your Powers Combined: He's capable of devouring divine tools in order to absorb their power.
  • Bad Boss: Cares the least about the lives of the Footsoldiers under his command, using the likes of XX as bait so he could escape or choosing to ignore the ones left abandoned in the floating fortress.
  • Bishounen Line: His initial form and his tree form make him out to be much more inhuman, but one of his forms is a skinny, humanoid-chicken looking thing.
  • Clipped-Wing Angel: After narrowly surviving the fight against Blue Keeper, Peltrola is reduced to a small chicken. When he's seen again during the Invaders Rights Association arc, he's partially melded into a tree to presumably regenerate his body.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Has no problem ambushing his opponents when he has the chance. In fact, he killed the Blue Keeper this way, by shooting him in the neck when his attention was focused on D's attack. Also has no qualms about running away or playing dead when things get hairy.
  • Establishing Character Moment: His introduction in the chapter 11 flashback makes for one heck of a first impression. Peltrola acts as a "God" to a human cult that went about worshipping him, and then mass killed them all during one of their sermons. Two of its members were Hibiki and Sesera's parents, and another was Usukubo's father.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He never fails to be soft-spoken and polite, even as he is laying waste to the Rangers and their ilk. He is also courteous to his minions, as XX and D can attest. He's still a psychotic murderer who puts his own life over the lives of his men.
  • Foil: To Shougo.
  • In the Back: As Peltrola was extending an offer for D to join his personal army, D managed to get a stab in. Be it not for his power to stay alive should one clone of himself remain, it actually would have killed him.
  • Kill Steal: As it turns out, one piece of Peltrola still remained after the Colorless and higher ranked Rangers cut through swathes of them. In the final moments of D and Blue Keeper's duel, Peltrola comes out of nowhere to blast the latter in the neck.
  • The Man Behind the Man: As seen in the Bailong Exams arc, XX is basically working for Peltrola as a loyal Footsoldier.
    • Petrola assumes that D's still a loyal Footsoldier fighting for the Executives during the Bailong Exams, but moments later gets quite literally backstabbed by D as he and the other Skycastle Footsoldiers have a longstanding resentment for the Executives abandoning them.
  • Me's a Crowd: One of his powers involves making clones of himself to fight. As long as even one of these clones is alive, Peltrola can come back. That last part will definitely be a problem, considering Sesera kicked one of his remaining clones into space.
  • Mercy Kill: Invoked. Peltrola often talks about mass slaughter as a form of "salvation" for everyone, from his followers to his enemies.
  • The Reveal: In chapter 23, he's revealed to have infiltrated the Bailong's Nest ranger training facility.
  • Villainous Rescue: In a way, he "rescues" XX in chapter 23 by killing the Bailong's Nest maintenance ranger that stumbled upon XX within Hibiki's dorm room. Though XX wasn't exactly in danger as it was shown that the maintenance ranger had no interest in actually fighting XX after he discovered her. He just had the unfortunate luck of Peltrola showing up at that very moment.
  • Wham Shot: His sudden appearance within the Bailong's Nest in chapter 23 was the moment it became clear that D and his fellow cadets were in serious danger during the Bailong Exams.
  • When Trees Attack: One of the forms Peltrola can take is a massive, sprawling tree. That form is stationary, but it has reasonable defense and he can still direct attacks.

    Magatia

Magatia

The "Snake" of the 12 Executives who's an invader with incredible illusion powers. Having enough of the Ranger vs. Invader war, Magatia created a "paradise" for itself in the form of a fake illusion school in order to live a life in peace. However, Magatia's fake world had it kidnapping many human teenagers to make the illusion school seem more legit, which led to Green Battalion investigating the disappearances and discovering the fake paradise. Magatia is basically a humanoid snake creature, and can use the bodies of humans that it kills as vessels to hide his appearance.

  • Arc Villain: Magatia serves as the main villain of the Dreamy School Life arc that D and company fight against.
  • Bad Boss: A flashback is seen of a past battle that Magatia had against the rangers aboard a large cruise ship. In order to make its escape, Magatia has its Footsoldiers keep the rangers preoccupied while bombs go off to blow up the cruiser, showing no care whatsoever for the loyal Footsoldiers that get caught up in the blast. Magatia's excuse is that the footsoldiers are going to dust back to the citadel, but it's still made quite clear that the only one Magatia cares about is itself.
  • Came Back Wrong: After injecting themselves with a reverse engineered Invader Creation Serum, Magatia was partially resurrected and became an Invader-Human hybrid.
  • Character Death: Magatia's killed off at the tail end of the Dreamy School Life arc due to Kanon and Green Keeper catching said Executive before it could make its way into a new vessel.
  • Face Stealer: Magatia has the ability to assume the appearance of anyone it kills. Its main form in the Dreamy School Life arc is Yuu, the high school boy following D and company around.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Magatia's this to Kyousuke and Gatou during the Dreamy School Life arc where the two of them serve Magatia to keep the Executive's illusion of a "peaceful" school that has trapped many students within it up and running.
  • Master of Illusion: Has such powerful illusion skills that Magatia created an entire fake school world just to live a peaceful life within. The full extent of his powers though is creating an entire illusory dimension, not just limited to a simple school.
  • Necessary Drawback: The weakness to Magatia's school illusion is that incidents, like acting out in class, causes the paradise illusion to suffer a bit of instability, which is instantly fixed by having someone within the illusion call for a day reset. Eventually, D notices this, and starts causing mass incidents to force quick resets one after another that causes such instability of the school illusion that it eventually forces Magatia to confront D and company head on.
  • Screw the War, We're Partying: Magatia doesn't see a point in the Kaijin/Ranger war after so long, preferring to live out a quieter, more peaceful life on the abandoned school grounds. As such, Magatia takes any high school aged teenager it can find, stuffs them in its illusion, and is content to do this for as long as it wants.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Sure Magatia is less ambitious than the other Executives we're introduced to, but it's not above using its subordinates as body backups, kidnapping teenagers, and subjecting them to a never-ending loop.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Lampshades this in a flashback when a cruise ship he and a number of Footsoldiers hijacked gets boarded by the Dragon Keepers. The Keepers call him a coward for hiding behind illusions, to which he agrees... as he's safely watching some distance away in a lifeboat, where he orders a Footsoldier to blow the ship up as he claims he's not dumb enough to fight them head on.

    Hwalipon
The "Horse" of the 12 Executives who appears as a Sharp-Dressed Man, but with a bag over his head. Hwalipon runs a social media account that promotes cooperation between humanity and Invaders, despite the threats to kill more civilians should the Rangers not disband. He also turns out to be teamed up with the humans of the Invader Rights Association that eventually battles it out with the rangers.
  • Affectionate Nickname: After a while, the human populace starts calling Hwalipon "Hwakkun" once they've gotten used to his streams.
  • Arc Villain: The Three-Way Battle arc revolves around Hwalipon's manipulations as it resulted in a large chaotic battle that involves the Rangers, Invaders, IRA, and D.
  • The Beastmaster: The monsters that have been emerging around the city were released by him, with more on the way should the Rangers organization continue to operate.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Though he carries himself as a goofball he's just as ruthless as the other Executives and is able to old his own against Pink Battalio, even going so far as to behead Pink Keeper.
  • Brown Bag Mask: Has a sack over his head when on air. The only known feature about his head currently is the three spikes that are poking through it.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Despite being a master propogandist, one of the 12 executives, and the controller of the Monsters, one of Hwalipon's streams features him playing with a Mentos and Coke volcano.
  • Character Death: Killed during the resolution of the Three-Way Battle Arc by Shippo after trying and failing to join the real Sakurama.
  • The Chessmaster: After the Staged Shooting by the Rangers to discredit his rising popularity, Hwalipon organized the Ranger-Invader Rights Association summit as a means of tricking the Rangers into exposing themselves. After assuming the identity of the host and acting JFC of Red Battalion, Yakushi provoking Sosei's Hair-Trigger Temper resulted in his arm getting torn off all the while Hwalipon was livestreaming to his audience.
  • Head Crushing: Or perhaps Body Crushing is more accurate as in his weakened state he was a small crystalline horse that was crushed to pieces by Shippo.
  • In-Series Nickname: Hwa-pon by the civilian population.
  • Intrigued by Humanity: After witnessing Masurao take a Monster head on and deflect a blade with his neck, Hwalipon declares his fascination with human potential and wishes to see more of it in action. He eventually declares humanity as "top of the food chain" after witnessing Pink Keeper's Healing Factor being even stronger than the Invader's and the real Hibiki's compassion to spare a dying Ranger.
  • Necromancer: Aside from directly possessing a corpse, he can also raise the dead provided only their head is missing.
  • Possessing a Dead Body: Killed Junior First Class Umezawa prior to the Ranger-IRA summit and possessed his corpse as a means of infiltrating the meeting.
  • Removing the Head or Destroying the Brain: Inverted. Hwalipon's means of raising the dead is only after they've been decapitated.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Contrasted to Peltrola's One-Winged Angel appearance and Magatia wearing a school tracksuit, Hawlipon wears a suit in his broadcasts.
  • Tokyo Rose: In his broadcasts he claims the Executives come in peace and calls out the sham nature of the Ranger's Sunday battles. While he's actually telling the truth about the Sunday battles, his claim of the executives coming in peace is up for debate.
  • Uniformity Exception: Averted. While his appearance resembles a regular human with a bag over their head, his real body within the bag resembles a small crystalline horse.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: His livestreams average around 20,000 viewers and receives superchats regularly.
  • We Come in Peace — Shoot to Kill: While his broadcasts say the Invaders come in peace, he has no hesitation in releasing more monsters to keep slaughtering Rangers and civilians alike.
  • Worthy Opponent: Views humanity as a whole as one. Their limitless potential and capacity for kindness fascinates him to no end.

    Todomask
The "Rat" of the 12 executives.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Ironically the largest Executive despite being the Rat executive as he towers over buildings.
  • Back from the Dead: Slain by Green Keeper prior to the story beginning however when Inko takes the second dosage of the Invader Creation Serum, she fully transforms into Todomask.
  • Playing with Fire: Based on Inko's partial mutation into it, the Rat Executive's main power was control over fire.

    Andrega
The "Tiger" of the 12 executives. Slain by the previous Blue Keeper 13 years ago.
  • Attack Reflector: Andrega was able to reflect all forms of hostility, provided they occur within her sacred field.
  • Came Back Wrong: After injecting themselves with a reverse engineered Invader Creation Serum, Andrega was partially resurrected and became an Invader-Human hybrid.
  • No-Sell: Andrega's ability was to create sacred zones where she could ward off any and all harm.
  • Posthumous Character: Died long before the events of the story.

    Chakobul and Yakekokab
Initially introduced as the unnamed Executive that appeared during the Monster attacks at the Zoo, it was actually the fusion of Chakobul the Monkey and Yakekokab the Rabbit.
  • All Your Powers Combined: Chakobul and Yakekokab are able to fuse together, creating the Executive that had been tormenting the Rangers since the Monsters first appeared.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Even after revealing their true nature, they spared the Aizome's squad and offered them the chance to run away since they owe them one.
  • Compelling Voice: Chakobul is able to command anyone that can hear him, manipulating their senses based on what he says.
  • Dimensional Cutter: Yakekokab is able to cut open portals in space to quickly move about, with added ability of being able to weaponize the portals to split anything in two.
  • I Owe You My Life: Despite being all powerful Executives that wouldn't actually get hurt in any of the situations they found themselves in, the principle of being saved is more than enough for them to repay the kindness in full.
  • Literal Split Personality: Comprised of two different Executives that combine into one.
  • The Man Behind the Man: One of the true benefactors of the Invader Rights Organization.
  • Mind Hive: Both Executives maintain their individual consciousness and personalities when fused together.
  • Uniformity Exception: When fused together, they lack the animalistic appearances the other Executives have.

Executive from D's memories / Yulimerida

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/executive1.PNG
Click here for her original form
"Let us take back this world, and live our lives freely."
One of the Executives from the Evil Kaijin Army, currently unnamed. According to D, he was different from the other four in-command, having a calmer side, seemingly wishing for his race to just be and feel free to do whatever they want. While not detailed, his current silhouette depicts a figure with long, messy light-colored hair.
  • Benevolent Boss: At least from D's perspective as she did not view the Dusters as disposable.
  • Body Snatcher:
    • A non-malicious example. When on the brink of death, Yakushi says Executives are able to use what remains of their power to send their mind into a nearby human and use them as a vessel to revive. However when a young Angel was in the ruins of where she lay dying, she's been dormant since then.
    • A more morally ambiguous example occurs during her love story with Yakushi, as she takes over the body of a girl from Yakushi's village in order to escape and start over with him. She only did this after the girl had burned his house down out of prejudice for his relationship with an Invader. It's also a small case of Murder the Hypotenuse, as Yulimerida was previously jealous of the girl's closeness to Yakushi.
  • Token Good Teammate: Sought a peaceful coexistence between Invaders and humans.
  • Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Her desire for a peaceful existence between Invaders and humans resulted in her execution by her Executive brethren.
  • Uniformity Exception: Does not share the animalistic appearance of the Chinese Zodiac the other executives have.

The Footsoldiers

    Footsoldiers in General
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/footsoldiers.jpg
"We've gotta do it, no matter what it takes!"

The Footsoldiers of the Kaijin Army. Most of them have become known as the "Dusters" stuck in a slave loop for the past 12 years, a loop where they must act out their role as the villains of a weekly show set up by the 5 Dragon Keepers where said rangers constantly beat them down in front of a live and excited audience. This is all to show to the public that the Dragon Keepers will always be there to protect humanity.

While all the Dusters seem to have accepted their role as the villain actors, Footsoldier "D" has not, coming to the decision during the 999th fight to finally change the plot.

  • Faceless Goons: The footsoldiers all share the same character design: black body, neck bandana, and non-expressive demon/skeleton-face. The only noticeable difference is that they come in different sizes.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: Their only option is to lose over and over in weekly show matches against the Dragon Keepers.
  • Immortality: The footsoldiers are unable to die. Their injuries basically causes them to "dust," which then allows them to reform as if their body is regenerating.
  • Happiness in Slavery: Though not exactly thrilled with their circumstances, most of the foot soldiers have come to accept their fate of being labeled the villains and are willing to go along with being defeated every Sunday, if means not being exterminated.
  • In-Universe Nickname: They're known as the "Dusters" due to their Immortality ability causing them to dust-and-regenerate. The injuries they receive before they regenerate makes it look like they're "dusting" in the wind.
  • Jobber: Their job is to constantly lose in scripted weekly matches with the 5 Dragon Keepers to make it seem like the latter is forever protecting humanity from the villains.
  • Just Following Orders: Originally, they had no objective or moral compass except to just follow the orders given by their Executives.
  • Likable Villain: The "show" they put on before humanity causes some of the latter, children in particular, to actually root for the footsoldiers, especially since these humans know full-well that the footsoldiers just can't win.
  • Made a Slave: The footsoldiers were basically created around the time of the Executives' defeat, shortly after which the 5 Dragon Keepers took control of the Sky Fortress that the footsoldiers resided in. Thus, all that the footsoldiers have really gotten to experience during their time alive is having to constantly act out and die in their villain role over and over for the Dragon Keepers' show.
  • Mooks: They were originally supposed to be the soldiers that made up the fodder of the Evil Kaijin Army serving under the much more powerful 12 Executives.
  • Necessary Drawback: The 5 primary Divine Tools and the Divine Tool Replicas used by their respective Dragon Keepers and ranger underlings have the power to bypass the Immortality of the Footsoldiers, thus allowing the rangers to kill off the Footsoldiers for real.
  • One-Letter Name: The footsoldiers decide to give each other letters for names to help differentiate one another.
  • Shapeshifting: The Dusters all have this ability, being able to transform into humans or humanoid creatures. Footsoldier D takes full advantage of this Dressing as the Enemy in order to infiltrate the ranger ranks.
  • True Companions: The footsoldiers all have such incredible chemistry and comradery that it really feels like they're all just one big odd family of Dusters (with the exception of XX).
  • Two Roads Before You: After the Dragon Keepers defeated the Executives, the Keepers gave the footsoldiers two choices. Either continue fighting, or face the future together hand-in-hand alongside the rangers. The footsoldiers chose the latter, but the result was just becoming slaves, and being forced to take part in the sham battles against the Dragon Keepers year after year.

    Footsoldier "XX"

Footsoldier "XX"

Voiced by: Hina Yomiya

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_xx.png
"I'm already dead-set on killing every last earthling."

A Footsoldier that D stumbles across in Hibiki's closet at the Bailong's Nest ranger training facility. Unlike the Duster group at the Sky Fortress, XX is a surviving Footsoldier from the war that went down 12 years ago. Thus, along with still being loyal to Executive Peltrola, she's one of the few Footsoldiers still fighting to achieve the Invaders' goal of world domination.

Like D, XX is quite adapt at taking human form, her main disguise being that of a young woman with long and messy black hair. In addition, despite XX still viewing all of humanity as her enemy, the one exception is Hibiki, who she's taken a liking to. During the Bailong Exams, XX and D team up to fight the rangers after D reveals himself as a fellow Footsoldier having infiltrated the Ranger Association. However, things become complicated when it turns out that they don't see eye-to-eye regarding Peltrola.

  • Action Girl: Her introduction has her grab D (in human disguise) by the head, push him to a wall and rapidly transform her arm into a blade, pointing it inches away from his human eye.
  • Badass Boast: Says one to D at the tail end of chapter 15 to make it clear that she's a true Footsoldier unlike the reject "leftovers" that all live in the Sky Fortress.
Even after the Dragon Keepers had slaughtered our Executives, we screamed our defiance and fought until the bitter end. We're the true Footsoldiers.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Of all the humans she's encountered, Hibiki stands out to her as he had saved her when he found XX on the brink of death. She promises him he'll be the exception when the Invaders kill everyone else.
  • Befriending the Enemy: She genuinely likes Hibiki, even promising to spare him once she killed everyone else. She's also shown genuine worry for Hibiki's fate when she found D has taken his appearance for disguise.
  • Closet Sublet: During D's second infiltration, he discovers her inside the closet in Hibiki's room at Bailong's Nest.
  • Determinator: She remains determined and loyal to the Invader Executives, fighting for their goal of conquering Earth from humanity.
  • Disappointed in You: Due to finding them to be cowards, she has no love for the "leftover" Duster Footsoldiers that settled into becoming slaves for the Dragon Keeper show. The moment she realizes that D was a "leftover," she basically tells him to piss off. It's only when D starts to act as what she views to be a real Footsoldier that things cool off, and they eventually team up.
  • Dressing as the Enemy: Like D, XX eventually takes on the form of an official Ranger, in this case the appearance of the recently wounded Koguma.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Has several of these in her first couple chapters showing just how dangerous XX actually is behind her disguise.
    • She instantly threatens the "Hibiki" disguised D the moment he comes across her hiding in Hibiki's closet, having grown tired of not being able to do anything, which shows right away just how much she's itching to kill the rangers and other humans.
    • She then reveals what she's truly like underneath once she realizes that D is one of the Duster "leftovers." XX despises the leftovers, because unlike the Dusters, she's still a true Footsoldier loyal to the Executives' goal of destroying humanity and taking over the world.
  • Goal in Life: Unlike the Dusters, XX remains determined to continue the Invaders' goal of conquering Earth from humanity.
  • Luminescent Blush: In chapter 15, D disguised as "Hibiki" shoves her to the floor. Given how obvious it is that she has a thing for Hibiki, XX blushes at the thought that Hibiki was going to go out-of-character and start fooling around with her.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: All Dusters have an innate sense of gratefulness to their Executive leaders for creating them, and XX is no different. When Peltrola comes back, however, she sees his more cowardly sides and his poor treatment of his troops yet still decides to follow him, if only out of loyalty.
  • Oh, Crap!: The moment in chapter 23 where she realizes that Peltrola has infiltrated the Bailong's Nest ranger training facility freaks her out to the point of worrying for D's life.
  • Pride: She claims to be really prideful over the only thing she knows, which is to be a Footsoldier that fights against the Invaders' enemies.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: To D. After finding out D is part of the "leftovers", the footsoldiers left at the Sky Fortress, she attacked him and then started calling him and his unit out for being "nothing but pathetic jesters, playing for the Rangers", unlike her and the other footsoldiers at the surface who continued to fight the Rangers even after the Executives were killed.
  • Secret-Keeper: She's one of the few that knows about D's infiltration into the Ranger Association when D had to reveal himself disguised as "Hibiki" to her.
  • Serious Business: She wastes no time in telling D her objective: kill the Dragon Keepers and every single human on Earth (except Hibiki). While D has claimed the same objective, the way that she says it as she pulls her face closer to his puts enough pressure to scare the surprised footsoldier.
  • Shapeshifting: She's another Footsoldier capable of taking on convincing human disguises. However, it takes longer for XX's disguise to take shape since she's nowhere near as good as D at it.
  • Sole Survivor: She claims to be the only survivor left amongst the true Footsoldiers who still chose to fight towards the goal of world domination rather than become slaves of the Dragon Keepers.
  • Suicide Dare: In chapter 17, it turned out that Hibiki left D a note revealing Footsoldier XX's name to him. When D calls her by name, XX tells D to kill himself for thinking that he knows her well enough to do so. She even takes it a step further by ordering him to find a way past his own immortality, and then kill himself.
  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Her true form is supposed to look like any other Footsoldier, and it does, but XX also keeps her long hair in Footsoldier form. No other Footsoldier does this, and most are assumed male. The anime implies this to be a stylistic choice, where Footsoldier L is presented as female but doesn't really stand out from any other Duster aside from her voice.
  • Undying Loyalty: As one of the few Footsoldiers still fighting to remove humanity, she's this towards the Invader Executives. Peltrola especially.
  • Villain Team-Up: Teams up with Footsoldier D during the Bailong Exams in order to take down the rangers. The alliance eventually falls apart due to their opposing viewpoints on Peltrola.
  • When She Smiles: When she hears from D that Hibiki's still alive since he's the type of moron that will not go down easy, she's happy to hear it, and gives off a rare smile.
  • You Will Be Spared: The only human she's taken a liking to is Hibiki, who she's decided will be the only human that she doesn't kill.

The Dusters

    Footsoldier "D"
The main character. A Duster Footsoldier who decided to infiltrate the Ranger Association in order to destroy it from within. See Footsoldier D for more information.

    Footsoldier "A"

Footsoldier "A"

A Duster footsoldier who appears to be one of the more level-headed. After the Dragon Keepers decided to station rangers on the Sky Fortress to monitor them from now on due to the recent rebellious actions of D and F, Footsoldier A does his best to survive and watch out for his fellow footsoldiers.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: In order to survive, and for there to be no trouble with the rangers after D and F's antics caused the Sky Fortress to now have stationed rangers in it to monitor their every move, A's the one that takes the initiative to kneel before them in loyal servitude, claiming that they won't resist, and will do what they say.
  • A Father to His Men: Along with surviving, his actions to kneel before the rangers in servitude is because he's looking out for his fellow footsoldiers.
  • The Leader: He comes off as such to his fellow footsoldiers, which is probably made obvious by the fact that he was given the first letter of the alphabet.
  • Please, I Will Do Anything!: Basically begs Shinta and Hekiru to stop threatening them after his fellow footsoldiers got off to the wrong start with them the moment said rangers were assigned as the Sky Fortress monitors.

Footsoldier "F"

"So we'll do our part, and play the villains!"

D's fellow Duster footsoldier from the Sky Fortress who's chubbier than your average Duster. F tries to act as the voice of reason for D, who was dead-set on his idea of taking back the "conquest" role seriously again when they were barely spared their lives years ago. He's the first one to worry about D's disappearance at the start of the story, and left the fortress to search Earth for him... only to end up running into the rangers.

  • Dying Moment of Awesome: After Red Keeper pulls out his Divine Tool, one of the weapons that can kill Dusters, instead of cowering in fear and begging for his life F decides to honor D's will as a member of the Evil Kaijin Army and stands up to Red, provoking him as he recieved his strongest attack head-on. As he was dying, he reflected how this last act of defiance was the best he had felt after years of submission.
  • Not So Invincible After All: Died due to the power of the Divine Tool breaking through his immortality ability.
  • Satellite Character: Footsoldier F's purpose was basically to show off the power of the Dragon Keepers' Divine Tools, and to remind D of his goal of needing to destroy the Keepers instead of taking Hibiki's more peaceful route.
  • Sorry That I'm Dying: In his final moment, F's last thought to himself is apologizing to D.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Dies to the power of Red Keeper's Divine Tool just 3 chapters into the series.

    Footsoldier "Z"

Footsoldier "Z"

The Duster footsoldier who took the role of playing the Fake Executive for the 999th scripted show battle against the Dragon Keepers that had Footsoldier D finally attempting to change the plot. Z ended up taking the form of a humanoid tiger.

  • Beast Man: Transforms himself into a tiger-man to act as the Fake Executive for the 999th scripted show battle.
  • Car Fu: Transforms into a tiger-styled truck during the 999th scripted show battle.
  • Evil Plan: His "scripted plan" as the Fake Executive is that he's going to give all animals tiger stripes and send the world spiraling into chaos as he's the embodiment of the resentment of all the world's tigers.
  • Is That the Best You Can Do?: Basically says this during the 999th scripted show battle.
  • The Leader: Only during the scripted show battle where he acted as the Fake Executive "Tiger-boss" leader for his fellow footsoldiers against the Dragon Keepers.

Other Invaders

    Giga-Invader Death Messiah

Giga-Invader Death Messiah

The most feared weapon the Invaders have at their disposal.
  • The Ace: At least according to Yakushi, as even in-universe there is hardly anything known about it so he put together all of the feats that were attributed to it by the writers of the original Rangers TV series and assumed they all belong to it.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Of the feats Yakushi recalled that were mentioned from the original Rangers TV show they included his grip strength being 50,000 KG, the ability to clone himself, the ability to stretch his arms, and a talent for Golf.
  • Awesome McCoolname: On top of being portrayed in a burning city, its name certainly conveys the threat it poses.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Handedly beat Green Keeper. He would've finished him off hand Blue not rescued him in the nick of time to regroup with the rest of the Keepers. Though even with all the Keepers fighting together they were unable to so much as damage it.
  • Final Boss: Lampshaded by Sosei as he verbatim called it the final boss of the Invaders.
  • The Ghost: Despite being feared as the greatest threat the Invaders have to offer, the Rangers only have a vague understanding of what sort of a threat it actually is. Yakushi himself doesn't even know, instead relying on various feats the Rangers TV series noted about it and cobbling them all together to create his perception of the Giga-Invader Death Messiah.
  • Her Code Name Was "Mary Sue": Lampshaded by the Dragon Keepers, as the sheer amount of various powers it has makes it "like a little child came up with it" and "makes for a totally flat character." Yakushi refutes it and claims it's lore faithful.
  • The Unfought: The Ranger Association had never fought it during the Kaijin War and during the original broadcast of the show, though its presence and feats it may have possessed were always hinted at.
  • Verbal Tic: Whenever the Giga-Invader Death Messiah/ Yakushi uses any of his powers, he says "this too was foreshadowed."
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Played up to be an incoming threat but with the introduction of the Invader Rights Association and the revelation that the Monsters were an experiment by Yellow Battalion that was leaked, it seems the Death Messiah's return has taken a backseat. Later revealed that this was on purpose; not even the original broadcast has gotten to his proper reveal before its cancellation. The Death Messiah that Yakushi transforms into is only based on his own speculation.

    The Monsters

The Monsters

Reptilian-like creatures that have recently begun attacking the human population.
  • And I Must Scream: Mutated people retain their consciousness when transformed into monsters.
  • Bioweapon Beast
  • Foil: To the Dusters. Both are underlings of the Executives used to wage war against humanity but while the Dusters are shown to have individual personalities the Monsters are mindless beings that run purely on instinct. They also lack the immortality the Dusters have, but can replenish their numbers easily as they are created from mutating humans into them. They both are also the product of human experimentation, though the original purpose of the Monsters isn't known while the Dusters (and Executives) were meant to bring the original Ranger show to life.
  • Forced Transformation: Heavily implied to be mutated people based on Usukubo discovering one that had the watch of a zookeeper the Rangers had met the same morning and Kanon spitting out a human finger after killing another. Chapter 90 confirms they are mutated humans as a large room of would-be IRA recruits were all transformed into them.
  • Turned Against Their Masters: While it may have been the intention since the beginning of the experiment, Hwalipon getting his hands on the Monsters was certainly not accounted for.
