"Omigosh, hi Chris! It's so incredulous to meet you! Wow, you're much shorter in real life..."

Voiced by: Sarah Gadon
Label: The Wannabe
Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips
Placements: 16th (TDI 2007), 1st/2nd (TDA)
Eliminated in: Episode 10 (TDI 2007), Episode 26 (TDA)

A short and socially awkward girl born and raised on a farm. Although she's not much to look at when compared to some of the other female contestants, Beth is very friendly but also naive and spineless - which can make her an easy target for the more unscrupulous competitors.

  • Abhorrent Admirer: To Harold and Justin in Action.
  • Acrofatic: This sort of applies, but she had enough clumsy moments that Chris played a montage of them in the Action finale.
  • All-Loving Heroine: Except for Heather and Courtney, Beth is friends with almost everyone else on the show, despite her social awkwardness and clumsiness.
  • Arc Hero: Of Action alongside Lindsay, she gets manipulated by both Justin and Courtney throughout the season but catches on much more quickly due to her experiences with Heather and ends up causing a lot of opposition for both of them. Culminating in her getting Courtney eliminated just before the finale.
  • Attention Whore: She has a habit of doing various odd things for attention, and while she excels at getting others to stop and stare, it is more often than not for embarrassing reasons.
  • Backstabbing the Alpha Bitch: She was the first one of Heather's alliance "partners" to tell her off and shot her with a paintball gun. She later pulls one on Courtney as well.
  • Badass Adorable: In "Million Dollar Babies" and the third aftermath of World Tour.
  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to "Berthe".
  • Berserk Button: During Action, as shown in "Masters of Disasters" and "Million Dollar Babies", Beth does not take kindly to people claiming that she made her boyfriend Brady up.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: Wears Nerd Glasses and she's definitely a sweetheart for the most part, as well as being socially awkward and gullible.
  • Better with Non-Human Company: She understands farm animals a lot better than people.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Beth is usually not quick to anger; however, she told off Heather and Courtney. She also exposed Leshawna's Wounded Gazelle Gambit when she said Beth's boyfriend didn't exist.
  • Blind Without Them: In one episode she loses her glasses causing her to fail the challenge. We are given a brief view of her vision and it is indeed pretty blurry.
  • Braces of Orthodontic Overkill: Beth wears a brace-aid when she sleeps, which looks nothing short of a metal cage around her head. Even when her braces get taken out after Island, she still wears it for a time during Action.
  • Brutal Honesty: Beth can be pretty out in the open with the truth, most prominently shown in "Aftermath: Bridgette Over Troubled Water", where she proceeds to well-intentionally remind Geoff of Bridgette and how she made out with Alejandro, when Geoff was trying hard to avoid the topic.
  • Cargo Ship: In-universe with the pole Bridgette got stuck to.
  • Character Focus: She receives a good bit of development during Action; however, she goes Out of Focus in World Tour.
  • Chekhov's Skill: In "Not Quite Famous" she reveals her talent for baton twirling. Much later in "Million Dollar Babies" this (partially) helps her to defeat Heather in a game of badminton during a challenge.
  • The Cutie: A short, mousy Bespectacled Cutie with a sweet, awkward and naive personality who is eager to make friends and have everyone like her.
  • A Day in the Limelight: "Paintball Deer Hunter" focuses on her finally standing up to Heather.
  • Demoted to Extra: By World Tour where she only appears in the Aftermath episodes in minor roles. Her last appearance to date was a non-speaking cameo in the first episode of Revenge of the Island.
  • The Dog Bites Back: In "Paintball Deer Hunter", she shoots Heather in the thigh after breaking off their alliance, and in "If You Can't Take the Heat...", Beth helps Leshawna lock Heather in the walk-in freezer.
  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: Beth wore Braces of Orthodontic Overkill during her Island run as a competitor before she had them taken off from Action onwards.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Undoubtly her biggest saving grace. She might not be as physically attractive as most of the other girls, but her heart is definitely in the right place and almost everyone is friends with her
  • Friend to All Living Things: Barn animals that is as being raised in a barn gets her along well with many of the animals. Her favorite one is her pet pig, she calls Big Bertha. She even claims to have signed up for Total Drama Island so she can find a boy who likes barn animals as much as her.
  • Geek: Subverted. While she physically looks like a nerd and has poor social skills, she doesn't act much more like a nerd other than a remark saying she did the homework of other students.
  • Grew a Spine: In "Paintball Deer Hunter", Beth stands up for herself, refusing to do Heather's bidding any longer.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: She and Lindsay become good friends during their time in Heather's alliance in Island. They maintain their friendship after breaking free from her and become very close during Action.
  • Hidden Depths: Her Island biography mentions that she excels in Art. She received the Art Achievement of the Year Award for her full-scale replica of the Sphinx, made out of glue, elbow macaroni, and felt. This makes it into one challenge in "Beach Blanket Bogus", where she instructs her team to stabilize their sand castle with papier-mâché.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Because of her naïvety and desire for friendships, Beth can be overly trusting of the series' villains. After being under the heels of Heather in Island and Justin in the first half of Action, Beth becomes a better judge of character when dealing with Courtney in the latter half of Action.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Has a great desire to be liked by everyone. This however makes her naïve to antagonists who will offer to take advantage of this to manipulate her.
  • Jerkass Ball: Beth is often presented as a sweet, innocent and Endearingly Dorky girl but in Total Drama Action, she has had moments of being brash, selfish and even self-righteous which is exemplified in the final episode when she ate all of the cookies that was delivered for all of the girls to share because she believes that it's really hard work being nice so she's the only one who deserves the cookies.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: In "Up The Creek", she is on the can when Chris explains the curse of Boney Island and nobody bothers to fill her in afterwards. This bites the Screaming Gophers in the proverbial rectum when she takes a tiki doll off the island, and the Gophers lose that challenge and the next two in a row before finding out and booting Beth off the team.
  • Malaproper: There's this line in "Alien Resurr-eggtion":
Beth: (in confessional with Lindsay) Even though Heather can be really mean, that doesn't mean we should be mean back, right? Buddha says: "You can lead a sheep to water, but you can't make it nice."
    Lindsay: That is sooo deep!
  • Martial Pacifist: Beth only resorts to violence when her limits are pushed too far, specifically with Heather in "Paintball Deer Hunter".
  • Minion with an F in Evil: To Heather; however, Beth was too nice and too naive to be evil. Beth was the first to break away from Heather's alliance.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: In a confessional, Beth questions her alliance with Heather, admitting that she doesn't even like Heather. After Heather's mistreatment of her and Lindsay during "Paintball Deer Hunter", Beth stands up for herself and breaks off the alliance.
  • Nerds Are Naïve: Beth is a Stereotypical Nerd with her Nerd Glasses, Braces of Orthodontic Overkill, shorter and rounder physique, and very high ponytail. She has No Social Skills and wants to make friends, which makes her naive and easily fooled, something the other competitors have no problem taking advantage of.
  • Nice Girl: While a bit quirky, immature and socially awkward, Beth is always there to help her friends.
  • Nice Mean And In Between:
    • In Island, she is the in-between to Lindsay's nice and Heather's mean. She can have a few Jerkass moments here and there but is still a Nice Girl overall.
    • For each generation's contestant who grew up on a farm, she is the in-between to Rodney's nice and Scott's mean.
  • Older Than She Looks: She is the same age as all of the first generation contestants, despite the huge height difference.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: In "Million Dollar Babies" where she kicks a tree clean in half.
  • Pubescent Braces: For the duration of Island, Beth wears braces that are part of her nerdy and "awkward teen years" look. During the two days between Island and Action, Beth takes the opportunity to get her braces replaced with a retainer. The change boosts her confidence to the point of incidental arrogance, not in the least because she also got a hot new boyfriend out of her visit to the dentist.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Beth's patience with Heather's bossiness finally runs out in "Paintball Deer Hunter", with Beth breaking off their alliance by repeatedly shooting Heather with her paintball gun.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Although not as epic as Lindsay's, Beth tells off Heather in "Paintball Deer Hunter", telling her that the reason that the Gophers keep losing challenges is because of her bossiness and apathy towards the game.
  • Secretly Selfish: When given a chance she eats a gift basket of cookies meant for all the girls by herself and justifies it by saying she deserves it more for being so nice.
  • Shout-Out: She has a pink bathing suit that looks like a 24th century Starfleet uniform.
  • The Smart Girl: On the Killer Grips.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Downplayed when compared to the others, but Beth gets focused on a good bit during Island due to her alliance and subsequent feud with Heather, and Beth is a finalist in Action.
  • Stalker with a Crush: She follows the boys she likes at her school around like a lost puppy and make them poster-sized homemade valentines with pictures of unicorns running down the beach.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In Island, Beth was more of a follower to Heather, and after breaking away from her, it didn't take her long to be voted out due to bringing back the cursed skull. In Action, she displays far more social awareness, which ultimately results in her managing to eliminate three strong competitors in LeShawna, Justin, and Courtney. Not only that, she manages to become way more dominant in challenges, managing to hold her own against Heather on two separate occasions, and hold her own against Duncan in the finals to the extent the winner had to be decided by a tie.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Zig-zagged in Action. While she does still have moments of being a Nice Girl, she's noticeably much more brash, selfish and even self-righteous as evidenced by her eating the cookies that were meant for the other girls.
  • Uncatty Resemblance: In "Top Dog", as part of that episode's challenge, she befriends a Rascally Raccoon named Mr. Whiskers that has distinctive markings around its eyes similar to her glasses.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: She didn't know you weren't supposed to remove the idols from Boney Island, but it may have been what caused the longest losing streak the Screaming Gophers suffered.
  • Vocal Evolution: Her voice in Action is about an octave higher and more enthusiastic than in Island, making her sound more like a Genki Girl than a Geek.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Beth's stated phobia is being covered in bugs, so she must immerse herself in a vat of earthworms, which the writers apparently believed were close enough. Of course if she, unlike the writers, knew the difference it would explain why she was able to do the task.

    Gwen

"Yep! This camp pretty much still sucks. But now that I'm here, I guess I might as well actually try to win."

Voiced by: Megan Fahlenbock
Label: The Loner
Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers, Team Amazon, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 1st/2nd * (TDI 2007), 12th (TDA), 9th (TDWT), 4th (TDAS)
Eliminated in: Episode 26 (TDI 2007), Episode 7 (TDA), Episode 16 (TDWT), Episode 12 (TDAS)

A goth girl with an interest in art. While her blunt and moody attitude makes her seem cold and harsh, Gwen isn't anti-social; she's just cautious about who she lets into her social circle. But those who get to know her will find that she is a smart, kind, level-headed, and independent woman.

  • Action Girl: She's not above getting physical, having kicked a serial killer in the face.
  • Aesop Amnesia: In the second Action aftermath, she says she's learned to be "straight up" so nothing can "bite her in the butt" again. By World Tour, she apparently forgot about that.
  • All for Nothing: She enters All-Stars to make up with Courtney to the point where she breaks up with Duncan, only for Courtney to betray her, ruining their renewed friendship, meaning all she did to make up with Courtney was for nothing.
  • Ambiguously Bi: She has dated and made out with Trent and Duncan during her time on the show. However, in the fifth season, she was more interested in getting Courtney's forgiveness for taking her boyfriend, Duncan, away from her and she does eventually get her forgiveness. There was also tons of Les Yay between her and Courtney in World Tour and All-Stars.
  • Amicable Exes: Played straight with Trent, but averted with Duncan.
    • Things were rather awkward between her and Trent, with her breaking up with him because of a mix of his jealousy of her friendship with Duncan and learning he was throwing the game so she could win. Trent was heartbroken to learn that Gwen asked his team to vote him off and was too heartbroken from their breakup to defend her when the other contestants give her a hard time over their breakup. However, when Geoff wants to throw Gwen in a dunk tank full of piranhas, he puts his foot down and tells Geoff that that is enough, he was the one who threw the game, not Gwen, and it was not her fault. Gwen thanks Trent and apologizes to him, with him telling her that they're cool. After that they seem to move on from their break up and become good friends, as the two are seen hanging together or joking with each other during World Tour's Aftermaths several times.
    • Originally, Gwen had a strong friendship with Duncan that formed into a relationship. However, by the time of All-Stars they're shown to lack chemistry and affection at the start of the season. Eventually, they break up because of a mix of Gwen's attempts to make up with Courtney combined with Duncan's attempts to get Courtney's attention. It's telling that Duncan's more confused than heartbroken regarding the breakup. While she does not bitterly hate Duncan the same way Courtney does, it is clear that the love, friendship, and respect Gwen had for Duncan is gone. Duncan leaves the competition on bad terms with Gwen, as she sarcastically mocks him while he is being escorted away by the police after blowing up Chris' cottage, showing no concern for Duncan's imprisonment.
  • Anti-Hero: If not for her anti-social attitude and awkwardness, Gwen would be an Ideal Hero.
  • Arch-Enemy: She hates Heather more than anyone else on the show, and the feeling is very much mutual, although their hatred of each other dies down slightly after Island, enough to have the occasional Enemy Mine.
Gwen: Putting up with the revolting food, giant bugs, and cameras in your face all day is one thing, but Heather? Only a hundred thousand dollars could make me live with her.
  • Arc Hero: In Island she was Heathers biggest rival alongside Leshawna and is ultimately the one responsible for her downfall. In later seasons her interactions with the Big Bad are usually minimal.
  • The Atoner: She only enters All-Stars so that she can try and fix her relationship with Courtney. Unfortunately, her attempts at being nice only result in Courtney getting humiliated and/or physically injured, making her even angrier and making Gwen feel even guiltier. She finally manages to win back Courtney's trust in "Suckers Punched", only to discover that Courtney planned to eliminate her despite their rekindled friendship. The arc ends with their original roles being swapped, leaving Gwen angry and hurt while Courtney becomes the atoner.
  • Badass Adorable: Is a very cute and pretty girl who can take down anyone who messes with her.
  • Badass Unintentional: When she panicked and kicked a psycho killer in the face in "Hook, Line, and Screamer".
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: Downplayed as like Lindsey her normal outfit only exposes the bottom of her stomach. Played straight with her swimsuit.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She may be a harsh and snappish goth, but she really has a golden heart inside of her and is defenitely one of the kindest characters of the first generation cast. But if one dares to act insensitive or toy with her, she will make your life miserable.
  • Betty and Veronica: The Betty to Courtney's Veronica and Duncan's Archie.
  • Birds of a Feather: She bonds with Duncan because they're both antisocial horror fans. This builds up to a romance in Season 3.
  • Bros Before Hoes: A female version of this trope. In All-Stars, Gwen for the most part subsides her relationship with Duncan in order to patch things up with Courtney. She eventually dumps Duncan and reconciles with Courtney, telling her that she's done putting relationships over friendships.
  • Buried Alive: In "Phobia Factor," she reveals her greatest fear is being buried alive, and is thus buried in a glass box beneath the sand for her challenge.
  • Camera Shy: In the first season, a minor running gag is Gwen shoving a camera out of her face whenever it's aimed at her. Apparently she's not the only one who does it; a photo of her equally goth friend Reaper shows him doing the same.
  • Captain Ersatz: Someone on the official blog noticed that her outfit and hair matched Tibby Rollins' from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in several places.
  • Character Development: Starts off as cold and anti-social, but after dating Trent she becomes much more open and a team player. By the time All-Stars comes around, she is one of the nicest, most honest characters.
  • Characterization Marches On: After Season 1, her interest in art is never mentioned again outside of online character bios.
  • Claustrophobia: She's quite afraid of enclosed spaces. Her greatest fear is being buried alive (which happens to her twice), and in "The Chefshank Redemption," she exaggerates her fear while crawling through a tight escape route to fake a panic attack and throw the challenge.
  • Cool Big Sis: Implied to be very close with her younger brother, the TDI biography states she grew up taking care of her brother. She is also one to Cody (who she views as an Annoying Younger Sibling), and later to Cameron.
  • Cracks in the Icy Façade: Gwen is introduced as an aloof, antisocial goth girl who ignores the other campers, but when Trent arrives, we see her turn away and smile for the first time. This is the first sign of the Defrosting Ice Queen plot she undergoes via her summer romance with Trent.
  • Cutting Off the Branches: In season 2 episode 7 of 2023, Owen returns as a guest judge where Priya and Chris mention he is a former Total Drama champion. Priya in particular mentions he is the FIRST EVER WINNER OF TDI. This means Gwen is now also the canon runner-up of Season 1.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: She's a snarky, cynical girl who dresses in black, green, and dark blue, and is not afraid to point out when the other contestants are acting stupid. But as the episodes go on, it becomes apparent that she's one of the nicest characters on the show—she just takes a while to warm up, that's all.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Gwen is often sarcastic and cynical toward those of the contestants she can't stand, especially in the first season.
  • Dead Sparks: Implied. Although Duncan's relationship with Gwen did not deteriorate like it did with Courtney, they're shown to lack chemistry and affection at the start of All-Stars. With them being moved to different teams, Gwen's attempts to make up with Courtney combined with Duncan's attempts to get Courtney's attention eventually causes Gwen to break up with Duncan. It's telling that Duncan's more confused than heartbroken regarding the breakup.
  • Death Glare: In the first season, she was sometimes prone to giving these. She scared Lindsay with a particularly intense look in "Not Quite Famous" to get her to let her into the cabin. Whenever she gave similar glares in the following seasons, it was usually justified.
  • Decoy Protagonist: In Action. Having just been a finalist in Island, Gwen is heavily focused on, with a major arc being her relationship issues with Trent... until she ends up the fifth contestant eliminated.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: During Island, she initially acts cold and aloof toward the other contestants but warms up to them as time goes on after meeting Trent (who she warmed up to the most).
  • Determinator: She has won more challenges than any other contestant in the series. Her victories in "The Big Sleep" and "Basic Straining" are testaments to her exceptional willpower.
  • Determined Defeatist: Mainly in Island. Despite starting off as cynical and competing in a show she didn't really want to be in, she does her best to win the challenges and even becomes one of the finalists.
  • Disappeared Dad: According to her online bio, her mother is now single. Word of God states that her dad divorced her mom sometime before she joined the show.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Gwen is a frequent target of Heather's bullying; however, Gwen just as frequently gets back at Heather, such as dumping Harold's red ant farm over Heather's bed in "Not Quite Famous" after Heather reads Gwen's diary out loud on international TV.
  • Dub Name Change: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to “Joëlle.”
  • Dude Magnet: Gwen has more guys find her attractive than any other girl on the show. She had two relationships in the series: with Trent and, after, with Duncan. Harold and Owen have both mentioned that they think she's attractive, and Cody constantly tries to hit on her but fails.
  • Dying Declaration of Hate: After her Flush of Shame alongside Scott, they both end up in Niagara Falls. As she and Scott go down the waterfall, she yells "I HATE YOU, CHRIS!". Luckily, she survives though.
  • Easily Forgiven: Only by Duncan in Action. He wouldn't vote her off and was impressed that she sabotaged her team instead of being angry with her. Averted by Courtney when she cheats with Duncan in World Tour. Trent, however, forgave her in both cases by the time they next saw each other.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Half-lampshaded by Alejandro in All-Stars, when he tells her that "[she] is as wise as [her] skin is translucent".
  • Enemy Mine: Gwen and Courtney's mutual dislike for Heather make them bond in the first half of World Tour. Ironically, in most seasons, Gwen and Heather end in this very same situation more than once, and they actually make a very good team when putting their differences aside at least temporarily.
  • Eye Scream: In "Picnic at Hanging Dork" her eucalyptus allergy causes her eyes to redden and swell to a nightmarish size.
  • Fighting Your Friend: Gwen is rigged to box with Courtney in "Suckers Punched" just as their friendship seems to be repaired. This actually proves cathartic for both of them as their punches let out all the anger they've had for each other and ultimately strengthen their friendship.
  • Final Girl: Parodied in both "Hook, Line and Screamer" and "Zeek and Ye Shall Find", due to her being a horror movie expert.
  • Foil: To Owen. While both ended up as finalists of Island, they have otherwise completely opposite personalities. Owen is the Big Fun party guy, Nice Guy, and All-Loving Hero who magnetically attracts friends to him. Gwen is a Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold and falls into Good Is Not Nice and has a bitter rivalry with Heather. While Owen ain't the brightest bulb and not very fit, Gwen is one of the more intelligent contestants and a Jack of All Trades when it comes to her physical performance.
  • The Friends Who Never Hang: Retroactively, she barely said a word to Courtney before "World Tour" and was pretty dismissive of her when she came up in conversation, but after bonding with her for one episode her kissing Duncan was treated as if she'd betrayed one of her closest friends.
  • Genre Savvy: She happens to be pretty savvy about movie genres, especially horror movies.
  • Girls Like Musicians: When Gwen was falling for Trent, one of her main reasons for liking him was that she just couldn't resist boys who played guitar, which he was known for. The opening even has him playing his guitar for her near a campfire, the two of them are just about to kiss before Cody interrupts.
  • Guile Hero: She is one of the more strategic heroes, and has shown to be quite manipulative to people like Heather.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Most prominently in early season one episodes. It is subverted when she falls in love with Trent and falls victim to Heather's cruel diary-reading act towards her.
  • Goth: Develops into a Perky Goth later in the series.
  • Goths Have It Hard: Gwen really hasn't had it easy. Besides competing on a Sadist Show for five seasons, she's been bullied repeatedly by Heather, had to break up with Trent, gotten the entirety of the blame for said breakup and forced to vote herself off, gotten involved in a Love Triangle with Duncan and Courtney that cost her the latter's friendship, then tried to make up for it and regain Courtney's trust and seemingly succeeded, only to find out that the other girl was planning to betray her all along.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Becomes this with Courtney in All-Stars until "Sundae Muddy Sundae", where she learns of Courtney's intention to betray her. In earlier seasons, she seems to have this with Leshawna and Bridgette.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Twice in All-Stars.
    • OK, Gwen. Sure Duncan is a jerkass and unfaithful, but you've known him for five seasons. So when Duncan warns you about Mike being evil, you choose to trust someone you barely even know just because he is a "nice guy" over him? No wonder Mal easily preys on you later in the season.
    • Trying to make amends with Courtney is one thing Gwen, but do you actually think that she will keep her promise of going to the finale together? Even Duncan and Beth know she never keeps her promises as long as the money is involved.
  • Iconic Item: Her diary in Island.
  • Ignored Expert: During "Hook, Line, and Screamer", nobody listens to her advice on surviving a horror film, despite her expertise in the area.
  • In-Series Nickname:
    • Heather always calls her "Weird Goth Girl".
    • "New Heather" by several contestants in World Tour, she's also frequently called "Gothy" or "Gothball".
  • Intoxication Ensues: In "The Am-AH-Zon Race," she accidentally stabs herself with Cody's EpiPen. She's extremely hyper for a good chunk of the episode, but she crashes shortly before the challenge ends.
  • Irony: In All-Stars, when Gwen was put on the villains' team, she protested, stating she was nice. In confessional she bitterly states that she spent seasons being a nice girl, only to be in the villain team. While Gwen was never as bad as her new teammates, she was not exactly nice, being at best a cold and anti-social Jerk with a Heart of Gold. It was only in this season that she turns into a completely nice girl.
  • Jerkass Ball:
    • In "If You Can't Take the Heat...", she finds it amusing (along with the other girls) seeing Harold when he wakes up naked the next morning thanks to Duncan, Geoff and DJ. This is more jarring in her case, given that she should know what it feels to be bullied given all the crap Heather put her through during the season and how Harold helped her to get back at Heather.
    • Given that she'd already become a nicer person over the course of Island, her "The Reason You Suck" Speech towards most of the other campers in "The Very Last Episode, Really!" seems rather odd and Out of Character, especially when she goes as far as to call Trent "two-timing" despite realizing he didn't cheat on her when he got eliminated. Only DJ, Owen, Cody, Leshawna and Bridgette got away without an insult.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Early on Island. This also applied in regards to her family. To quote her Island bio, "Gwen may seem tough as nails on the outside, but when it comes to her family, she's as soft as... well, a marshmallow!"
  • Kaleidoscope Hair: She has alternating shades of light teal, black, and dark teal, though it's confirmed to be a dye job.
  • Keeping the Enemy Close: In "Riot on Set", when Gwen was recruiting her team, Leshawna tells her to "Keep your enemies close", which results in Gwen picking Heather for her team, albeit reluctantly.
  • Last of Her Kind: The last contestant from the first generation remaining in All-Stars.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: Dark to Bridgette, Leshawna, and Zoey's Light.
  • Loner-Turned-Friend: She kept to herself early in the series, but ends up becoming close friends with many of the contestants, most notably Leshawna, Bridgette, Courtney, Trent, and Cody.
  • Loony Friends Improve Your Personality: In the form of Geoff, who she states "brings the party out in you".
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: The gutsy and fierce masculine girl to Trent's sensitive and artistic feminine boy.
  • Meaningful Name: "Gwen" means "white" or "pale", and she's a goth girl with noticeably paler skin than most other characters.
  • Morality Pet: Duncan's. In all three seasons, he's nicer to her than he's ever been to anyone else (including Courtney).
  • Moral Myopia: Easily overlooked, but during Island, Gwen is constantly bullied by Heather, who tells secrets of her diary to the world, exposes her panties on live television, and even tricks her into believing that her boyfriend cheated on her. However, she doesn't have any problem with mocking Harold when he is the victim of some pranks pulled by Duncan, Geoff, and DJ.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Briefly becomes a Reluctant Fanservice Girl after Heather rips off Gwen's skirt during the rock climbing challenge in "Who Can You Trust?".
  • Nice Girl: She becomes much more friendly after her de-frosting in Island.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between:
    • Of the three Island finalists, Owen is nice, Heather is mean, and Gwen is in-between.
    • In terms of the love triangle mess in season 3, she is the nice to Courtney's mean and Duncan's in-between.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: In "The Am-AH-Zon Race".
  • Nightmare Fetishist: When it comes to horror movies.
  • Nonconformist Dyed Hair: She is an artsy misanthropic goth with black and teal-streaked hair. Supplemental material reveals she goes to the same salon as Duncan to dye it.
  • Not Helping Your Case: For a while, every attempt Gwen makes at patching things up between her and Courtney only makes Courtney hate her even more.
  • Not So Above It All: When Gwen first appears, she is depicted as unsocial and indifferent; Gwen is later shown to care about how others perceive her deeply. During Gwen's break up with Trent in season 2, she went on about how she was a good person and cared for her teammates when she was cold and anti-social to them in the previous season. While Gwen did not hate or bully her teammates, she would insult them and only befriend 5 of them, viewing everyone else as insane. And during the time Gwen was dating Duncan, she became obsessed with makeup with Courtney for kissing Duncan behind her back, but at the same time denied that Courtney was dating Duncan at the time. Also, during the All-Star season, when Gwen was put on the villain team, she protested, stating she had done so many good things, and that she had three seasons of kindness.
  • Of Corsets Sexy: She wears a corset-like black top with blue and green sleeves.
  • Odd Friendship:
    • Strikes one up with Geoff, in "Trial By Tri-armed Triathlon". While the two are different as night and day, they come to a mutual understanding of each other, with Geoff even managing to help Gwen open up, where he helps amend her view that "partying isn't in your DNA" and more like a "state of mind". The two-part on good terms and Geoff vows to invite Gwen to her first party once the season was over.
    • She's surprisingly good friends with Owen, the fun-loving, 296-pound Keet. Notably, their friendship is one of the few relationships that remain consistent across the first three seasons. In the finale of Island, she lists him as one of the few people she considers sane. During Action, he's the only one on the Killer Grips who isn't mad at her because Trent threw the challenges for her sake. During World Tour, she tries to make him feel better about Izzy breaking up with him, and later, he supports her new relationship with Duncan.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Her reputation is defined solely as "boyfriend stealer" in All-Stars.
  • Out-of-Character Moment:
    • In the last episode of the first season, when she insults approximately three-quarters of the entire cast, saying that only five of them were sane (which included some of the cast's most obviously flawed members).
    • On the winning screen for the Action game "Best. Game. Ever", she's wearing a huge, goofy, delighted grin that makes her look a little like Izzy.
    • Gets another one in "You Regatta Be Kidding Me!", in which, after becoming best friends with Courtney, she talks about the dream she had in which she rode on a fluffy unicorn across clouds made of marshmallows. Didn't expect her to say that, did you?
  • Out of Focus: Gets this in Action
  • Perky Goth: She initially starts off as a loner, but she softens up over the course of the series.
  • Perpetual Frowner: She used to be in a near-perpetual state of frowning before she cheered up.
  • Plot Allergy: Gwen loses the tie-breaker challenge as to whom will be eliminated between Courtney and her in "Picnic at Hanging Dork" because it involves eucalyptus leaves, which she's allergic to. She leaves the plane wheezing and with a swollen face.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni:
    • In Island she is the blue to Bridgette and Leshawna's red.
    • In All-Stars she's also the blue to Zoey's red, especially through their physical color contrast green and red.
  • Relationship Upgrade: She starts dating Duncan in World Tour. She breaks up with him in "Moon Madness" when she realizes he still has feelings for Courtney.
  • The Runner-Up Takes It All: She alludes to this when she loses an elimination tiebreaker to Courtney in "Picnic at Hanging Dork".
  • Say My Name: When she wakes up to find out she's been buried alive with Sam in "The Treasure Island of Dr. McLean", her first reaction is to pound on the walls of the box and yell, "CHRIIIIIIIIIIIS!!"
  • Second Love: She falls in love with Duncan after falling in love with Trent, and likewise, he falls in love with her after falling in love with Courtney. It doesn't last; they break up after Gwen learns that Duncan still has feelings for Courtney.
  • Series Mascot: Not quite as much as Owen, but Gwen is one of the show's most recognizable characters and shows up on a lot of promotional material, possibly because of her unique character design.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: The whole reason why she returned for All-Stars was so that she could reconcile with Courtney after what happened between them in World Tour, which she does by "Suckers Punched". Unfortunately, "Sundae Muddy Sundae" reveals that Courtney planned on eventually stabbing Gwen in the back by eliminating her before the finale and going back on a promise they made to take each other to the finale, resulting in Gwen now being the one to break up their friendship, therefore making her entire plot that took up about half the season and the events involving her during it (such as breaking up with Duncan) completely pointless. It also comes as no surprise that she herself gets eliminated in the very next episode since she has no reason to still be in the game.
  • Shipper on Deck: In "Anything Yukon Do, I Can Do Better", she supports Cody/Sierra so that Cody will leave her alone. She also supports Courtney/Scott.
  • Shovel Strike: She hits Harold with a golden shovel in "The Chefshank Redemption".
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: The reason she developed feelings for Trent the first time they actually interacted.
  • Sixth Ranger: To Mike, Cameron, and Zoey's Power Trio.
  • Slow "NO!": In "The Big Sleep" when Trent falls asleep, leaving her to finish the challenge alone, and in "The EX-Files" when Courtney trips her to make her drop the alien artifact and lose the challenge for their team.
  • Slut-Shaming: Falls victim to this. The reason she's on the Vultures team is...cheating. Cheating which she didn't initiate, and which no one will let her forget. When you consider what everyone else on the Vultures team did to get there...
  • The Snark Knight: She's probably the most sarcastic female in the series.
  • Soapbox Sadie: Tries to be this, and comically fails due to the sheer idiocy of Katie and Sadie in the Celebrity Manhunt special.
  • Sole Survivor: She becomes the last original contestant remaining in All-Stars.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: She is the most focused-on character in season one and the first few episodes of season two continue to focus on her relationship with Trent. She then becomes notorious as a spotlight stealer when she and Courtney get involved in a Love Triangle with Duncan in World Tour. Also, her ultimately failed attempt in reconciling with Courtney is a significant plot point in All-Stars.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: She comes off as being very cold and distant, but she has a much nicer side once you get to know her.
  • Tender Tomboyishness, Foul Femininity:
  • Token Good Teammate: While Gwen has made a few mistakes in the past, she's still not outright evil like everyone else on the Villainous Vultures. The shot of her in the Villainous Vultures used to be the image for the page.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: With Bridgette (and later Courtney).
  • Tomboyish Voice: As detailed above, she has a raspy voice.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: She starts out as a stereotypical Goth girl in her debut but started to come out of her shell after developing a relationship with Trent in the third episode. Her flowering into a kind person was finalized after Heather read Gwen's diary on international television.
  • Trauma Conga Line: Throughout the entire series she is constantly betrayed and emotionally (and physically in Chris' case) battered by others. It's only her persistent will to constantly improve herself that stops her from going insane.
  • Tsundere: For much of the first season, Gwen's attitude toward Trent had a twofold quality due to the Depending on the Writer treatment of their budding relationship.
  • The Unreveal: She and Owen are the only characters whose audition tapes have never been seen.
  • Vocal Evolution: Her voice is higher in season three than in season one, possibly to show her Defrosting Ice Queen status.
  • Wanting Is Better Than Having: She spends so much of World Tour pining for Duncan but very little of their time together ends up being pleasant for her.
  • What Have I Become?: What she feels for doing harm to Courtney in the first half of All-Stars.
  • When She Smiles: Admit it, you just want to cuddle her every time her mouth turns upwards!
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Uses this on Cody in "Picnic at Hanging Dork" to help her get rid of Courtney.
  • We Used to Be Friends: It vaguely implied that Bridgette and Geoff's friendships with Gwen broke apart during Action's Aftermaths as a result of Gwen's breakup with Trent.
    • During Island, Bridgette and Gwen were close friends, but Bridgette turned against Gwen during Action, blaming her for breaking up with Trent. While Bridgette does not outright end their friendship, she makes it clear through her words and actions that she disapproves of how Gwen broke up with Trent and she was not on her side. Bridgette even told her that Lindsay and Beth are ticked at her because they found out that Trent threw their team's challenges for her. And while Bridgette disapproves of Geoff's treatment of Gwen and tries to protect her from his torture, the two girls are never seen making up or interacting again for the rest of the series (although this is partly due to Bridgette falling Out of Focus as an early elimination on World Tour while Gwen continued to receive focus as part of a Love Triangle with Duncan and Courtney).
    • Geoff and Gwen became friends during Island, but after he Took a Level in Jerkass during the Aftermath segments in Action, their friendship deteriorates. While he does not outright end his friendship with Gwen, Geoff guilt trips her over her breakup with Trent, nearly drops an anvil on her, and tries to throw her in a dunk tank full of piranhas. When Gwen points out that they are friends, he responds that his new gig "trumps" the times that he and Gwen made s'mores. He also tells her that she did not leave many friends behind in the game. They never made up and do not interact for the rest of the series (although this is partly due to Geoff falling heavily Out of Focus and not competing at all in World Tour).
  • X Must Not Win: She made it her mission to make sure Heather loses in Island, so much so that she promised Owen a share in the cash prize or a box of doughnuts if he helps her. In the end, she succeeds.

The mean Alpha Bitch who rules high school in every teen movie, Heather is as ruthless, narcissistic, manipulative, and self-centered as they come. She always knows what she wants and how to get it, with little regard for who she has to hurt or deceive to achieve her goals.

Click here to see her Self Demonstrating page, dork!

  • Abusive Parents: Implied. Her parents are thrilled to get her out of the house in her video from home, not just throwing a party, but even selling all her personal belongings (though with Heather being a total Hate Sink in the original Island, the audience was likely meant to side with them). Heather also claims in Action that her parents sent her to electroshock therapy as a child to make her nicer. However, it's implied Heather sees her mom as her best friend in "One Flu Over the Cuckoos."
  • Action Girl: She's not afraid to get her hands dirty (literally or metaphorically) in order to win a challenge.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Her dad calls her "Heather-Feather" in her video message from home.
  • All Take and No Give: Heather's alliances are solely for her benefit. She demands practically everything from Beth and Lindsay while they get nothing in return from Heather, not even gratitude.
  • Alpha Bitch: The series' most definitive example, bullying Lindsay and Beth into doing her bidding during their alliance, and constantly trash-talking Leshawna and Gwen. However, she clashes with Courtney for the position during World Tour, and in All-Stars she clashes with Jo early on for leadership of the Villainous Vultures.
  • Analogy Backfire:
Heather: A team without a leader is like a horse without a head! It just runs around blind!
Gwen: I'm pretty sure a horse without a head doesn't run anywhere.
  • Animals Hate Her: Not to the extent of DJ during World Tour, but she has moments that show this. Most notably during the special after the original Island, when she gets her head stuck in a beaver dam and the beaver takes the opportunity to spank her butt for several minutes.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Heather's bio mentions that she has a younger brother named Damien who's not just annoying, but evil (at least to Heather). Despite Heather being an Alpha Bitch who uses deception to get anything she wants, her home is stated to be the only place she's out-ranked in due to his tormenting pranks (such as booby-trapping her room and putting glue in her hair conditioner).
  • Arch-Enemy:
  • Arc Hero: In World Tour she's an Anti-Hero at best and a Nominal Hero at worst, but for better or for worse, she ends up being the protagonist who opposes Alejandro throughout the season. By the time of the finale, Cody spells it out for her, that between the two she's definitely the lesser of two evils and since she's the only one left who can take him down, that makes her The Hero.
  • Art Evolution: Regarding Heather's baldness: when her head ends up shaved near the end of the original Island, it's shown to be flat. Come Action, the top of her head has been tweaked to appear round instead, presumably to appear more realistic.
  • Asian Rudeness: According to the creators, Heather is Asian (though she could be half-Asian, since her dad looks pretty white). Also, there is a reason she is called the "Queen of Mean."
  • Asshole Victim: Very few people, if anyone, feel sorry for Heather whenever she falls victim to Laser-Guided Karma, given her snobbish attitude. This is particularly prominent in "Slap Slap Revolution" when Leshawna slaps Heather silly, in which the other campers were cheering Leshawna on and in "Hawaiian Punch", where the peanut gallery laughs at Heather as she's being pelted with golf balls.
  • Attention Whore: As the series' resident queen bee, Heather naturally puts herself as the center of attention.
  • Bad Boss: Her treatment of Lindsay and Beth in the original Island was almost criminal. In fact, she's this almost every time she takes charge of her team. In the episode "If You Can't Take The Heat...", she declares herself the Screaming Gophers' head chef for the cooking challenge, making Leshawna chop pineapples (which she's allergic to) and wasting time ordering Owen to get her makeup bag from the cabin. Leshawna gets tired of it and locks her in the freezer.
  • Bald of Evil: Inverted. While she was Big Bad, she had long black hair. When Heather suffers her Traumatic Haircut in the penultimate episode of the original Island, she ceases to be a major antagonist. While she's bald during Action, she becomes nicer.
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: Heather's outfit consists of a maroon crop top halter top as fanservice. Leshawna calls her out for it in "3:10 to Crazytown."
  • The Baroness: Though she tries to maintain her status throughout the series, it's most prominent during the first season.
  • Beauty Is Bad: Pretty much all the male contestants acknowledge that Heather's definitely very attractive, but most of them generally keep their distance because they know what her personality is like.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Alejandro.
  • Big Bad: Of the first season, and the most iconic one to date.
    • While there are several villains in the series that have surpassed her in evilness and ruthlessness (Chris, Alejandro, Mal, Scarlett), Heather is still the most recognizable one of the entire series.
    • Even after her initial run ended, she would remain in subsequent seasons as the Ex-Big Bad, with other contestants still treading with caution near her and all to wary of how much of a threat she is.
    • When she made her cameo in the Total Drama: Revenge of the Island episode "Up, Up and Away in My Pitiful Balloon," the new generation is stunned and somewhat scared to see her, with Zoey even asking her if she really is the Heather.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Her on-off teaming up with Alejandro in World Tour and All-Stars.
  • Big "NO!": Almost every time she's been eliminated:
    • In "I Triple Dog Dare You", when the electric razor she kicked out of Chef's hand lands on her head, leading to her Traumatic Haircut and subsequent elimination.
    • In Alejandro's ending of "Hawaiian Punch'' after she's informed she threw Alejandro's sacrifice into the volcano, resulting in his victory instead of hers.
    • She gets one in All Stars after she learns that Alejandro betrayed her to eliminate her.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: Judging from how her parents celebrate her being gone, it can be safe to assume that she's (most likely) this.
  • Break the Haughty: Basically the entire first season is this for Heather, and she becomes a lot less abrasive as a result.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Played straight in the first season, where she was a great strategist, but mostly made others do the dirty work for her. Averted in later seasons like World Tour where she was more willing to win challenges herself and almost reached Action Girl levels. Compare her in Island (where she refused to jump off of a cliff because "her hair would get wet"), and World Tour and All-Stars (where she did that very thing with no issues once in both seasons).
Heather: The guys think they're so stealthy, building their own little alliances. It's kind of cute, really. But why work on your own bike when you can get someone else to do it for you?
  • The Bully: Even when her antagonistic nature isn't competition-driven, she's usually talking trash about the others either behind their backs or to their faces and being unapologetically bitchy in general.
  • Can't Get Away with Nuthin': Laser-Guided Karma often hits her hard, especially in the original Island. More often than not, Leshawna and Gwen have a hand in it.
  • Can't Take Criticism: Many times when she is called out for her flaws and misdeeds, she throws a fit. This is a case of Depending on the Writer, however; other times, she revels in her bad reputation to the point where she's not bothered by the others' harsh words about her in the slightest.
Heather: LeShawna just told it like it is. I don't see what the big deal is. I do it all the time!
Lindsay: She called you mean and nasty.
Heather: I Can Live With That.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: She lampshades this quite beautifully in the first episode of All-Stars.
Heather: Obviously, I'll be on the villains' team, and I'll be running it by lunch.
  • Character Development: While she's still mean and manipulative, compare how evil she was in the original Island to how she is in World Tour and there's quite a difference. In the original Island, Heather is constantly and often pointlessly cruel to her teammates, manipulates them into doing her dirty work, and disposes of them when they've stopped being useful; by World Tour, while she still mostly looks out for number one, she's willing to cooperate with her team in order to win, her nastiness has been toned down (but not entirely eliminated—because, after all, she is Heather), and she even does a few kind things for others with no ulterior motive.
  • Characterization Marches On: In early episodes, Heather would take almost every opportunity to mess with her teammates even if it risked making her team lose, like reading Gwen's diary out loud to the whole world during a talent contest or making Leshawna chop pineapples (which she's allergic to) during a cooking competition. This habit seems to have disappeared by the middle of the original Island, as she became more focused on winning. She even gets mad at Courtney in World Tour for trying to lose the Area 51 challenge on purpose so they could vote out Gwen. She doesn't even like Gwen, but it seems she draws the line at bringing the whole team down for the purpose of single-minded revenge.
  • Character Rerailment: She reverted back to her season 1 self in season 4-onwards.
  • The Chessmaster: Twist, manipulate, deceive, and mislead the competition is how she operates.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: In her pursuit for the million dollars, Heather has betrayed almost everyone she ever formed an alliance with. It is because of this, practically no one after the first season is willing to team up with her.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She does not want Courtney (or any other girl for that matter) to have Alejandro.
(after Alejandro helps Courtney in the wedding dress challenge)
Heather: I don't know what kind of weddings Alejandro has been to, but each groom gets one bride. One!
  • Cruel Cheerleader: According to her bio, she was a cheerleader at her high school, and the head cheerleader at that.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: As unbelievable as it sounds, she dispenses this advice in "Chinese Fake-Out". When Cody doesn't want to get married to Sierra but she won't take no for an answer, Heather tells him to be honest with her and say flat-out that they will "never, ever be a thing".
  • Damned by Faint Praise: In "Aftermath Aftermayhem", as part of a challenge, Beth has to make up a haiku about Heather, but it has to be positive. She comes up with, "Heather has ten toes...um, webbed feet for faster swimming...she's fast in water!"
  • Deadpan Snarker: She has a dry wit, perfect for snapping at other contestants.
Harold: I'll have you know this is a selfless act! My lady fans couldn't handle the loss of this perfect behind!
Heather: And by "lady fans", he means his mother.
  • Death Glare: Her default expression since she is easily disgusted or aggravated by virtually everyone and everything on the show. Alejandro is even attracted to it, referring to it as her eyes "shooting daggers."
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype:
    • Heather deconstructs the Alpha Bitch, showing exactly how popular a cruel, vindictive, manipulative shrew of a girl would be—not popular at all. Her Freudian Excuse (being bullied for having been the ugly girl) has long since passed, leaving her with nothing but the joy of causing social humiliation just for the sake of causing social humiliation, which is petty enough to give her only short-term advantages. The cast is only fooled by her innocent act when the plot needs them to be, and after the original Island, none of them like or trust her. This extends to her life outside the show, where her parents are seen throwing a party because they don't have to put up with her for the summer, and she ends up dateless and alone during her high school dance because no one wants her.
    • In "World Tour" she becomes one for the Lovable Alpha Bitch, since although she was a little bit nicer that season, made a few friends, and made a genuine attempt to warn everyone about Alejandro. Ultimately everyone still saw her as the scheming, two-faced Jerkass she was in season one, and the fact that she still carried herself with a pompous attitude and resorted to dirty tricks meant her warnings against Alejandro were ignored and even when she ended up being The Hero, although everyone was happy to see Alejandro fall, no one defended her when Chris screwed her out of the prize money. Fittingly the next time we saw her she'd reverted back to her old self.
  • Defeat by Modesty: Accidentally does it to herself when her halter top comes off. However, the distraction provided by this actually helps her team win the challenge and directly causes Harold's elimination.
  • Demoted to Dragon: Invoked by Chris when he brings her and Alejandro back as Mal's helpers in the finale for All Stars. Of course, like all of Mal's alliances, this only lasted a couple of seconds. She was also Alejandro's Dragon with an Agenda for an equally brief time in World Tour.
  • Determinator: In "Hawaiian Punch," she gets fired up by a determination to be the "good guy" for once and not lose to Alejandro, racing up the volcano to catch up to him even with his sizable lead.
  • Does Not Like Spam: She hates barbecue potato chips. In "Paintball Deer Hunter," when making Beth gets her a bag of chips from the dining hall, she specifies, "...and not barbecue!"
  • Dub Name Change: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to "Marilou".
  • Early Personality Signs: Zig-zagged. As per her biographies, she's been cunning and manipulative since childhood, forcing her parents to buy up her Girl Guide cookies and motivating her class to sell chocolate bars to get the class president (herself) a new bike. She also mentions in a TDA aftermath that her parents gave her electroshock therapy to be nicer, implying she's been rude since childhood. However, her vain persona only developed as a teenager, as she was Formerly Fat and unattractive in middle school.
  • Enemy Mine:
    • With Gwen against Owen and Duncan's team in the original Island, even high-fiving when they win.
    • With Leshawna right before getting voted off in Action. Before that, Leshawna convinced Gwen to have Heather on their team both to keep an eye on her and knowing Heather's smarts would actually make her a good ally.
    • With Gwen, again, in the 'Celebrity Manhunt' special, cooperating to delay Alejandro's car, and also against Courtney in the second half of World Tour, partly because Courtney kept throwing challenges and partly out of jealousy because of Alejandro flirting with her.
    • Temporarily with Courtney against Gwen once it was revealed that Gwen kissed Duncan behind Courtney's back until the aforementioned instances led her to switch sides.
    • With Alejandro in "African Lying Safari" as part of their Big Bad Duumvirate, which also stems from their Belligerent Sexual Tension.
    • And yet, again, with Gwen in All Stars; Heather actively looks for an alliance with her, since she's the only non-villainous Vulture and therefore the one she can truly trust with making any kind of deal with.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: She doesn't trust Owen because she finds his cheerfulness creepy and unnatural.
  • Evil Counterpart: Heather is one to Gwen in unmitigated spades. Both of them start off as loners and quickly develop an antagonistic relationship with Chris. Both are beautiful females who attract plenty of interest from the opposite sex. However, Heather is a representation of everything that Gwen is absolutely not, especially in the original Island. Gwen is a loner by voluntary choice and generally minds her own choices. Heather, by contrast, winds up a loner because of her abuse of her allies. Gwen, despite having a cynical and snarky side, genuinely cares for her friends, and won't hesitate to risk losing the challenge to help them. Heather puts on a nice façade, but the friendship she offers is false and backstabs them once they are no longer needed. Gwen is shown to accomplish most of her victories on her own merit, while Heather relies on her allies, and all of her individual wins are through sheer luck. Gwen is adamant on winning the competition fairly, even against friends. Heather will not hesitate to cheat to win. Gwen is shown in both her online biographies and the video message from her family to have a good relationship with her family, while Heather has a dysfunctional one. Gwen's relationships with Trent and Duncan were healthy, and they failed because of odd actions on Trent and Duncan's side. Heather's relationship with Alejandro swings from one pendulum to the next. In other words, Heather represents everything that Gwen appears to be, but is not.
  • Even Bad Women Love Their Mamas: In Action, in the Medical Drama-based challenge, it's shown that Heather considers her mother as her best friend; in fact, when she thinks she's going to die along with the other contestants, she writes her last will and testament, leaving everything to her mom.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Despite of her ruthlessness, she does, in rare moments, display some concern for the other contestants' well-being whenever they were injured or in near-death situations, such as Trent's skydiving mishap or Owen's broken jaw. Apparently, she wouldn't go so far as to want them to die.
    • In I See London, she was legitimately concerned for Alejandro's safety after he was kidnapped and suggested looking for him despite being on opposite teams.
    • Alejandro's plan to eliminate Duncan in "African Lying Safari" leaves her stunned.
Heather: (confessional) Even I'm not that ruthless!
    • She, along with Cody and Alejandro, is genuinely concerned when Sierra gets caught in the plane explosion.
  • Everyone Can See It: It became gradually obvious that she and Alejandro were falling for each other over the course of World Tour. To the point that during Blaineley's rant after her elimination in "Chinese Fake-Out," she told them to "give it up and make out already." Whenever anyone stated it outright, Heather always denied it.
Heather: Why does everybody keep saying that?
  • Evil Is Bigger: Easily the tallest female member of the original cast, retaining this until the introduction of Sierra.
  • Evil Is Hammy: She's quite open about being evil.
Noah: (about Chris's new reality show) A bunch of nasty jerks live in a huge mansion and get all bored and backstabby.
Heather: I'm nasty! That should be me!
  • Evil Is Petty: She frequently takes opportunities to get under her teammates' skin, such as making Leshawna slice pineapple chunks despite her allergy to them or tearing off Gwen's skirt during a rope-climbing trust exercise. However, she is capable of restraining herself when it comes to challenges that require teamwork—see Pragmatic Villainy below.
  • Ex-Big Bad: Heather is the most prominent example in the series. Being the original Big Bad of Total Drama, after the conclusion of her first season, she remains around for most of the series. All the other contestants are all too wary of her shady past, but she never quite ascends to the status of main threat ever again. In World Tour she actually becomes the Villain Protagonist for the first half of the season before going through a Hazy-Feel Turn and ends up as the Anti-Hero up against the new Big Bad Alejandro.
  • Expy:
    • Of Regina George. Also a "Queen Bee" who serves as a manipulative Big Bad that ruins the lives of others.
    • And, of course, of the Heathers, who she's likely named after. Particularly Heather Chandler, as she's the Queen Bee and by far the most cruel.
  • Fatal Flaw: In the first season, recklessness. Heather repeatedly commits actions throughout the original Island that not only manage to alienate everybody on her team, and ultimately, the entire cast, but are extremely shortsighted and bring her no long-term benefit, while only giving her short-term advantages. One excellent example of this is reading Gwen's diary, as it managed to make her an eternal enemy in Gwen, didn't get her team any points, (and it's implied that had Heather actually performed ballet, it would have been enough to seal a Gopher victory), and nearly got her voted off. The only reason she makes it so far, especially after the merge, is either someone else is removed, or she gets invincibility. Unsurprisingly, her shortsighted decision-making finally gets her eliminated in the final three.
  • Females Are More Innocent: Somewhat during World Tour, where she's that season's protagonist, in which her main rival is Alejandro, who's instead that same season's primary antagonist (especially at the moment when they became its finalists). In addition to that, Al's overall malevolent presence during World Tour itself makes Heather look more like a saint in comparison to him (which is one of the reasons why her winning moment during her own ending as a finalist is WAY more satisfactory than his).
  • Femme Fatalons: In the New York episode of World Tour, where she slices open the prize apple with her nails.
  • Foil:
    • To Courtney. Both are arrogant, domineering girls who will resort to any means to win the competition and leaders of their teams in Season 1. The difference is that Heather revels in her villainy and prefers to manipulate others into doing her bidding, while Courtney sees herself as a hero and wins most of the challenges on her own merits (skill and strength). Heather also starts the series as a villain but gradually softens up and becomes an Anti-Hero after her defeat in the original Island, while Courtney starts off heroic, but jumps down the slippery slope into self-serving villainy.
    • To Lindsay. Both are takes on the "rich, popular, pretty girl" archetype; however, Heather, as the series main Alpha Bitch, embodies Popular Is Evil, gaining popularity through fear and coercion, while Lindsay is the Class Princess who is genuinely liked by most of her peers despite her stupidity.
  • Formerly Fat: She was apparently overweight when she was younger, which caused her to get bullied a lot. Part of her Freudian Excuse.
  • Freudian Excuse: Hinted at in the first special by Harold, who theorizes that at least part of the reason for Heather's bad attitude is that she either has family issues at home (such as her parents being divorced—which is later disproven since Heather's parents appear to still be married) or that she was fat and unpopular when she was youngerWord of God confirms that Heather was in fact fat and unpopular up until she started high school; that could also explain her fear of sumo wrestlers. Also, it's pretty much confirmed that she does have family issues (with her parents and younger brother, at least).
  • Gambit Roulette: A lot of her schemes require an insane amount of luck to work:
    • In Not Quite Famous, after reading Gwen's diary in front of everyone, she convinces Lindsay, Beth, Izzy and Owen to vote off Justin. The problem is, at this point, she's on a team with ten campers so Heather had to assume everyone else wouldn't unanimously vote for her, otherwise there could have been a tie-breaker or even a double elimination.
    • In Search and Do Not Destroy, she kisses Trent in front of Gwen. Leshawna catching wind of this rallies the contestants to vote off either Trent or Heather, Heather wins immunity so they settle with eliminating Trent. However, Heather had no way of knowing her chest had the immunity pass in it.
  • Hate Sink: How she was primarily portrayed as during most of the original Island (especially since she's that season's primary antagonist, complete with her Alpha Bitch personality).
  • Hated by All: Due to her heinous actions throughout the original Island—as pointed out by Izzy in Action, none of the other contestants (except for Harold, the only one initially willing to actually give Heather a chance) actually like or trust her. And as shown in the video message she gets from home, not even her own family seems to like her that much, as her parents are shown celebrating her absence (even going so far as to have all the stuff in her room moved out while she's gone). Lampshaded in the fourth World Tour Aftermath episode when the hosts are discussing the final three contestants:
Bridgette: ♪ There's Heather, she's an ice queen / But she's been playing hard! ♪
Geoff: ♪ Too bad everybody hates her, she'd have to pay a bodyguard! ♪
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: She did go through some redemption at the end of World Tour, but she doesn't quite end up as being heroic either and it's quite hard to place her on the morality scale.
  • Heroic Resolve: In "Hawaiian Punch", she's on the verge of defeat when trapped in a cage she can't escape from until Cody implies that she's "the Good Guy". At this realization, she bursts out and goes on to defeat Alejandro.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • The third Action aftermath reveals that she has some degree of genuine respect for Harold. As she is shown in an exclusive clip secretly admiring Harold's Num-Yo skills, and attempting to use her own pair. Which fails miserably.
    • In "Not Quite Famous" Heather is shown to be an enough talented ballet dancer to be chosen to represent her team in that episode's challenge. It's a shame she chooses to read Gwen's diary in front of everyone instead.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: She previously threatened Lindsay with a head shaving if she ever betrayed their alliance again. Incidentally, Heather betrayed Lindsay in "That's Off the Chain," and Lindsay used Heather's own threat against her as a dare in "I Triple Dog Dare You," leading to Heather's Traumatic Haircut and subsequent elimination.
  • Humiliation Conga: In "I Triple Dog Dare You!"...
    • Gwen and Owen decided to double-team Heather with one challenge after another. Surprisingly, Heather manages to take all of them...until the final dare where she had to get her hair shaven. She attempts to reject it, only for her hair to get shaven regardless. And to really add insult to injury (at least for Heather), since she didn't technically accept the dare (as she kicked the razor out of Chef's hands to try and avoid it), she ends up being eliminated anyway.
    • Even before Gwen and Owen double-teamed her, Heather's first dares involved licking Owen's armpit and sucking jelly out of Owen's belly button. She would've also had to lick Owen's toe jam but used the only freebie she earned to opt out of that dare.
  • I'm Not Here to Make Friends: She is hated by almost everyone because she either manipulated, insulted, had a hand in eliminating or left a bad impression on them. She even manages to alienate the second-generation contestants in her cameo appearance in Revenge of the Island. She even states in "Wawawakna Gone Wild!" that she's here to win, not to make friends.
  • Important Haircut: Her hair getting shaved off marks the point where she is utterly defeated by Gwen and ceases to be the main antagonist.
  • Improbable Weapon User: "Don't try to stop me! I've got gold statuettes and I am not afraid to use them!"
  • In-Series Nickname: "Old Heather" by countless others, even Gwen, who was dubbed "New Heather."
  • Irony: She once argued with Leshawna that at least she was popular. She ends up being the most hated contestant in the series, her own family is glad she's not home and it's strongly implied she has no friends.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: After the original Total Drama Island, her positive traits were allowed to show through on occasion.
  • Jerkass: She read Gwen's diary out loud for the world just because Gwen gave her a little lip. Even Chris was absolutely disgusted with her for it.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • Told Cody, Sierra and Alejandro that the Marriage of Sierra and Cody is invalid, stating as there was no wedding certificate first and foremost. Sure she's probably doing this to hurt Alejandro's favor with Sierra, but she made a point about the marriage being a sham.
    • Calls Chris out on allowing Alejandro and Blaineley to cheat in the gross food challenge in "Chinese Fake-Out".
    • In Revenge when returning as a guest, she steals the million dollar prize and attempts to escape, claiming it was owed to her. Thing is, she isn't wrong, even in Alejandro's ending of World Tour where she lost, she only did so because of a bogus ruling because she threw the wrong idol into the volcano, even though she clearly beat Alejandro, and in neither ending is it her fault the prize money was destroyed by Zeke.
  • Karmic Butt-Monkey: Most, if not all, of the misfortune Heather suffers is due to her mean-girl ways. "I Triple Dog Dare You!" in particular is the culmination of this trope, where practically everyone she abused gets payback, albeit incidentally.
  • Kick the Dog: She acts callously towards practically everyone, especially in the original Island. In particular, she frequently mistreats her alliance lackeys Beth and Lindsay, and she has intense rivalries with Gwen and Leshawna.
  • Large Ham: Her emotional outbursts are truly something to behold.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Fell victim to it quite regularly in the original Island. Gwen lampshades this in a confessional.
Gwen: (in confessional, after Heather falls into a jellyfish pool) Sometimes, the universe just gives you a freebie. (looks up at the sky and gives a thumbs up)
  • Lean and Mean: She's tall and skinny, and she's also the show's main Alpha Bitch.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: When it's just her and Alejandro left in World Tour, most of the contestants ended up supporting her. Compared to him, Heather was the "good guy".
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: Dark to Lindsay's Light.
  • Literal Metaphor: When describing how she got Owen to vote off Justin, Heather simply says "and Owen? Piece of cake!" It's then shown that she literally bribed him with a piece of cake.
  • Male Gaze: The camera focuses on her butt more often than most characters, but not quite to the same extent as Courtney.
  • Malicious Misnaming:
    • She has called Lindsay "Lindsiot" at least twice.
    • She often refers to Gwen as "Weird Goth Girl".
    • She has called Izzy either "Psycho Hose Beast" or simply "Crazy Girl".
  • Manipulative Bitch: She is one of the most manipulative contestants in the entire series, rivaled only by Alejandro. This is especially the case in the original Island, and still holds traces of it later seasons.
Heather: In this world, there are shepherds and there are sheep, and Lindsay is a major sheep. Baaaaaah!
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: The masculine girl to Alejandro's feminine boy. Heather is ruthless, rude and has no trouble attacking people in order to get what she wants. Alejandro is sweet-talking, polite, and less prone to being aggressive when manipulating people.
  • The Masochism Tango: With Alejandro. She and Alejandro literally tango, on top of a train, while singing about how much they hate each other in "Planes, Trains, and Hot Air Mobiles".
You are the worst, why must you torment me?
It's all a game to you, but not to me...
  • Meaningful Name: She's most likely named after Heathers, a film about social cliques in high school that features a trio of queen bees as main characters, all named Heather.
  • Misplaced Retribution: During the cooking challenge, Leshawna, Lindsay and Beth play keep-away with her makeup bag and lock her in the freezer, but during the next episode, she ignores them and directs her anger at Gwen.
  • Morality Pet: Alejandro's love for her is his most prominent redeeming quality. It actually helps him beat his brother José, who was more or less the cause of Alejandro's ruthless nature.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Invokes this to get on the show. She has many Shower Scenes and appearances in a Modesty Towel during the first season. Plus, her boobs were shown in "X-Treme Torture", and her butt was shown (uncensored no less) in "3:10 to Crazytown".
  • Never My Fault: In the original Island, she would sabotage other contestants with relish, but react with anger when they decided to get her back. When she swore revenge against Gwen for dumping Harold's red ant farm into her bed, Trent pointed out that Heather had read Gwen's diary out loud to the entire world the previous night; she brushed him off.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between:
    • In the original Island, for her alliance with Lindsay and Beth, she is the mean and to Lindsay's nice and Beth's in-between, being a stuck-up Alpha Bitch. During the same season, when it comes to the three finalists she's also the mean to Owen's nice and Gwen's in-between.
    • On Team Amazon she started out as mean to Gwen's nice and Courtney's in-between, then gradually switched places with Courtney.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown:
    • Was on the receiving end of this twice, first from Gwen and then from Leshawna.
    • Was on the giving end in Revenge of the Island against Lightning with the million-dollar briefcase, no less.
  • Nominal Hero: Heather ultimately does end up becoming the main hero of World Tour. While she did Took a Level in Kindness since Island and Action, she hasn't quite made a full Heel–Face Turn either and it would be a stretch to call her good. She is however still considered the hero, because Alejandro is actually MUCH worse than her, and by the end she is the only one left standing against him. Heather's status as a hero is confirmed when Cody explicitly tells her "don't let the bad guy win". Following Alejandro's defeat, she has gone back to her usual villainous self, proving that she can only be considered a hero when she's the Lesser of Two Evils.
  • Odd Friendship: She and Cody develop a friendship over their shared hatred of Alejandro in World Tour.
  • Only Sane Woman: Sometimes acts like this when compared to some of the other contestants.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: While it's obvious that she's gotten progressively nicer over the course of the series, no one could have been prepared for her sweet, cheerful display in "Moon Madness", even if it was all an act to trick Alejandro. She hugs an alligator at one point.
  • Pet the Dog: Heather may be mean as a snake, but surprisingly, she has done a few nice things even when there's nothing in it for her.
    • Throughout the various seasons, the only contestant she's never really outright mean to is DJ, even trying to calm him down when he got freaked out by her facial and joined his goodbye group hug when he was eliminated in Island. This carried over into Action where they managed to work surprisingly well as part of the Screaming Gaffers, and in World Tour where she tried securing an alliance with him but didn't use her typical manipulation tactics in favor of trying to be nicer to him. The only thing stopping him from being an outright Morality Pet to her is that they're usually on different teams.
    • Here's a shocker, in Action, she defends Leshawna after Leshawna gets caught bad-mouthing all of the contestants, including her during her spa trip with her cousin, Leshaniqua. She later gives Leshawna her wig as a gift to remember her by after she gets voted off.
    • Several times in World Tour. Examples include warning Leshawna that Alejandro was up to no good, consoling a heartbroken Courtney after it was revealed Duncan and Gwen had kissed, and giving Sierra a headdress and wheelchair because she sympathized with her being bald on national TV.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: In the original Island and Action, Heather makes many stereotypical comments about Leshawna being “ghetto”, a “rap star” and even mocks Leshawna’s afro.
  • Plot Armor:
    • In the original Island, there are a few episodes the contestants could've easily voted her out, but didn't. This is even more noticeable in the final episodes after everyone witnessed her voting off Lindsay and swore to eliminate her when they get the chance. In addition to several episodes where Heather wins immunity, even in ones she doesn't the contestants end up voting for someone else such as Izzy and Geoff, when Heather would have been the more logical choice. Because of her pampered lifestyle and spending most of the original Island having Lindsay and Beth do her challenges for her, Heather fails every challenge after the last of her allies were eliminated since she was so used to having people help her. If it weren't for the plot's sake, she would have been eliminated an episode after Lindsay.
    • In World Tour, without the Love Triangle between Gwen, Duncan, and Courtney she would have been eliminated much sooner.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Heather is the Big Bad of the original Island and always a villain, mean and hated by nearly everyone. However, she will not screw with her teammates if doing so would hurt the team's chances of winning a challenge, and more than once has gotten mad at others for doing just that.
    • She even goes so far as to counsel Sierra after the latter fell to Alejandro's manipulations and ended up annoying Chris.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: In both endings of World Tour;
    • In her ending of World Tour, she finally wins the competition and the million dollars only for her million to get stolen from her by a feral Ezekiel seconds later. She is last seen swimming away for her life from an erupting volcano with a giant boulder about to hit her just before the camera cuts away.
    • In Alejandro's ending of World Tour, she accidentally throws Alejandro's effigy into the volcano instead of hers, making him the winner instead. She doesn't get hit by the flaming boulder at the end, however.
  • Reformed, but Rejected: Ever since the first season, she became less evil, but many will never forget her actions on it since;
    • In Action, while Heather obviously isn't "good," she's not nearly as evil as she was in the original Island—but because of her past actions, and as mentioned above, Izzy told Heather to her face that, with the exception of Harold, none of the other contestants actually like or trust her, and Gwen (her team captain) outright says that any idea being suggested by Heather is reason enough not to do it.
    • In World Tour, this only gets worse: She's even less evil at this point, but the rest of the cast now seems to hate her more than ever. When she is in the final three, she has literally zero cast mates rooting for her, while Alejandro, who has been more actively villainous in this season than Heather ever was, has five.
  • Rich Bitch: Heather has mentioned coming from a rich family.
  • Rise of Zitboy: It's mentioned that she had bad facial acne when she was younger.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Heather's gorgeous and she knows it. She actually uses that fact to get on to the show in her audition tape.
  • Shipper with an Agenda: Of Gwen/Duncan and Cody/Sierra, to ruffle feathers — she doesn't actually give a damn about anyone's love life.
  • Shower Scene: Several during the original Island with Sexy Silhouette.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: With Alejandro when they finally get together in the All-Stars finale.
  • Skewed Priorities: Earlier episodes of Island has her screwing over her teammates by either being unhelpful or focusing to humiliate them during a challenge. For example, she refuses to jump off a cliff in the first episode due to concern for her hair, and reads Gwen's diary out loud in a talent contest.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Played with. Heather's easily one of the most arrogant and stuck-up contestants, but most of the time, she has the skills and intelligence to back up her claims. However, there are times when Heather ultimately overestimates her abilities (while underestimating her opponents) and it's shown that she's not as good as she claims to be, and she relies on others to do her dirty work.
  • Smug Snake: While smart and manipulative, Heather's very arrogant and tends to get overconfident, and in "I Triple Dog Dare You," her massive ego, along with her vanity, proved to be her ultimate downfall; that's actually what Gwen was banking on during the aforementioned episode.
  • Social Darwinist: In "The Sucky Outdoors", when the Gophers are cornered by an angry bear and Izzy is missing, Lindsay worries that it's already eaten her. Heather just says that if it did, then it shouldn't be hungry anymore. Gwen and Trent look aghast, and she says, "What? This is survival of the fittest!"
  • Spoiled Brat: She's a self-absorbed, bossy, and entitled narcissist from a rich background, which enhances her large ego and a tendency to demean others close to her.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: She is one of the most focused-on contestants in the entire series and is by far the most focused-on antagonist.
  • Starter Villain: The shows very first Big Bad who constantly proves herself to be A Lighter Shade of Black to all the later villain's.
  • Stripping Snag: Heather, riding a makeshift jet-ski, loses her top when a passing tree branch slips under it and tears it off.
  • Stalker without a Crush: For Courtney in Action. She REALLY wants her hair.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Prior to Sierra and Blaineley's introductions, she was the tallest female among the first-generation cast.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Her mother looks almost identical to her, but with shorter hair.
  • Stupid Evil: During Island, Heather will take any opportunity to humiliate her rivals or benefit herself, even if it risks making her team lose. However, this habit was largely dropped in subsequent seasons.
    • In "Not Quite Famous," to punish Gwen for being snarky toward her, she steals the other girl's diary and reads it out loud in front of the entire camp during the talent contest instead of the ballet performance she planned.
    • In "Paintball Deer Hunter," the campers are divided into hunters and deer. Heather (a deer) forces Beth (a hunter) to waste time getting food for her, even though the team needs Beth to hunt down the other team's deer in order to win.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Considering both of her minions have an "F" in evil. Lampshaded in "If You Can't Take the Heat...".
Heather: Ugh! It's like I'm on a team of morons!
  • Take Over the World: As the page quote says, she claims when she wins TDI that she wants to have a spinoff series called The World According to Heather. It's also stated in her TDI biography that she signed up for the show as practice for her long-term goal of ruling Europe.
  • Tautological Templar: Her justification for why she believes she can treat people however she wants and never face any consequences is that she's "popular", and as long as she's popular it doesn't matter that she's Hated by All.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • She's relieved in "I Triple Dog Dare You" when the bottle lands on Lindsay's picture, claiming that she will finally get a break since she believes Lindsay is too stupid to come up with anything bad. However, when Chris reveals Lindsay's dare, "Have your head shaved by Chef", it would lead to her Traumatic Haircut and subsequent elimination.
    • She promises in the confessional that she won't be the one to go home after someone has stolen her immunity idol. Alejandro turns out to be the one who took it and uses it to eliminate her.
  • There Are Two Kinds of People in the World: Shepherds and sheep, according to Heather in "Hide and Be Sneaky". She sees herself as the former and Lindsay as the latter.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: As much as she would love to eliminate people she hates, she loves winning more, and if you are caught throwing her team's challenges on purpose, she will make it her business to eliminate you, as seen with Gwen in Action and Courtney in World Tour.
  • Token Evil Teammate: During the first three seasons she often cheated or manipulated events to help her team get ahead.
  • Token Minority: According to Todd Kaufmann, Heather is Asian (though she's technically only half-Asian, since her dad is shown to be Caucasian), and was the only Asian character in the main series until MK's introduction over a decade later.
  • Tomboyish Ponytail: Has worn her hair in a low ponytail on some occasions, and becomes her default hairstyle after her hair grows back.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In the original Total Drama Island, Heather doesn't bother helping out in challenges and always has Beth and Lindsay doing the work for her. Without their help, she faces many difficulties in participating in any of her challenges. In subsequent seasons, she is willing to get her hands dirty and even manages to reach the finale of Total Drama World Tour on her own.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: After World Tour, she reverted back to her original self, as shown when she tried to steal the million dollars in Revenge of the Island and reveled in being considered a villain in All-Stars.
  • Took a Level in Kindness:
    • Gradually over the course of the series. While not exactly "kind" as she still retains her intense competitiveness and obsession with winning, Heather has actually become progressively nicer over the course of the series (or, at the very least, less mean) plus is far less evil and manipulative than she was in the original Island. This is especially in the third season when compared to her rival/love interest Alejandro.
Alejandro: ...compared to me, Heather's a saint!
    • In "Moon Madness", she becomes happy and sweet while under the influence of the Blue Harvest Moon until it's revealed in the confessional that she was faking it.
  • Trash Talk: She's quite skilled at this, especially when it comes to Gwen and Leshawna.
Heather: Back off ghetto glamour, too tight pants wearing, rap star wannabe!
Leshawna: Mall shopping, ponytail wearing, teen girl reading, peaking in high school prom queen!
  • Traumatic Haircut: Played straight when her hair was shaved off, but averted with her attempts to take Courtney's.
  • Tsundere: Type A, especially given her default Alpha Bitch attitude throughout her entire appearance.
  • Uncertain Doom: At the end of All-Stars, after Camp Wawanakwa sinks, Heather, alongside Alejandro, swims away to escape from Fang, but is never seen again afterwards due to no more seasons featuring members of the original cast being produced, and considering that her status has no mentions at all in the seventh season due to no previous contestants making physical cameos after the fifteen year Time Skip, certainly doesn't make her chances of survival look good.
  • Unexplained Recovery:
    • In the finale of World Tour, Heather is last seen about to be hit by a massive flaming boulder as she and the other contestants swim away from the Hawaiian island whose volcano has erupted, but the screen turns to static before she is hit. However, her appearance in the premiere of Revenge of the Island confirms she survived.
    • In her guest appearance in Revenge of the Island, Heather tries to escape aboard Chris' blimp with that season's prize money to make up for her loss at the end of World Tour, so Chris sends all the remaining contestants to recover the prize. At the end, the blimp crashes into the sea and Heather apparently remains inside the aircraft. However, her return in All-Stars confirms she survived the crash.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: She doesn't show even the slightest bit of gratitude towards Beth or Lindsay. This is what eventually leads Beth to betray Heather in "Paintball Deer Hunter".
  • Unholy Matrimony: Eventually develops this with Alejandro.
  • Villainous Gold Tooth: Heather's design for World Tour" includes a gold tooth, which is a lot more visible when she opens her mouth. The "villainous" part gets dropped after she develops into an Anti-Hero, and the gold tooth disappears when she returns in All-Stars''.
  • Villain Protagonist: During the first half of World Tour, before becoming an Anti-Hero after she's left as the only one standing against Alejandro.
  • Villainous Breakdown: She loses her temper when she gets eliminated in the original Island. She's heard by the eliminated contestants all the way from Play De Losers.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: As much as she's likely to feud with Harold and Duncan, she is often willing to team up with both of them in Action and she even teams up with Gwen (her worst enemy besides Leshawna) and Courtney in World Tour.
  • Vocal Evolution: As the series progresses, her voice gradually loses the snobbish tones it had in season one.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She is afraid of sumo wrestlers.
  • Will They or Won't They?: With Alejandro. In the All-Stars finale, they finally get together, though they still maintain their competitive natures.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: In "Search and Do Not Destroy", to break up Gwen and Trent, she tells Trent that Gwen was being mean to her and she shouldn't be trusted in an attempt to gain his sympathy. To seal the deal, Heather kisses Trent in front of Gwen to make it appear that he is cheating on her.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Heather and Leshawna were bitter enemies in the original Total Drama Island, and that did not change in Total Drama Action. But when Leshawna's teammates learn that she pretended to have a breakdown in order to guilt trip her teammates into letting her have a night at a spa away from the set and badmouthed them behind their backs, Heather was the only one to forgive her and defend her actions. So when Heather was voted off, Leshawna tells Heather she considers them friends. In a later episode, Leshawna states that she meant what she said and she does consider Heather her friend. By season 3, Heather and Leshawna are back to being bitter enemies with no reason given why their friendship ended. In fact, Leshawna even hates Heather more, once beating Heather up for warning her about Alejandro being evil. And even when she learns Heather was telling the truth, she was still glad she beat Heather.
  • You Are Fat: In the original Island, one of her favorite insults against Leshawna is to make cracks about her weight, but her rival gives as good as she gets.
Heather: ...especially that! (points to Leshawna's large bra hanging off the side of the bed) That is bugging me!
Leshawna: Yeah, it'd bug me too, if I didn't have anything in the front or in the back to shake!
Heather: Yeah?! Well, you got so much junk in your trunk, your jeans should come with a trash compactor!
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!:
    • Her shared reaction with Alejandro, Sierra, and Cody when Chris demanded a musical number during a very inopportune time.
    • Her reaction to the robot breaking apart and revealing itself to have contained Alejandro in the first episode of Total Drama All-Stars.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: How she betrays Lindsay towards the end of "That's Off the Chain".

Placements: 7th* (TDI 2007), 10th* (TDA), 13th* (TDWT)
Eliminated in: Episode 20* (TDI 2007), Episode 11* (TDA), Episode 11 (TDWT)

"Nutty as a ten-ton bag of pecans smothered in peanut butter, encased in a cashew the size of China", Izzy is easily the most eccentric of all contestants. Bounding with endless energy and insane ideas, Izzy has a wild and excitable personality that makes her nearly impossible for anyone to handle.

  • Action Girl: She's able to regularly beat up a Scary Black Man with ease.
  • Anti-Hero: She isn't the most heroic in the cast but isn't immoral either.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Chef Hatchet, trading blows with him on multiple occasions.
  • Ax-Crazy: Her bio on the official pages at Teletoon and Cartoon Network hints that she is this.
  • Badass Adorable: She's a Cute and Psycho girl who can kick your butt. And Chef's.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Despite being a crazy person, Izzy's really one of the friendliest contestants one could meet, especially when compared to someone like Heather or Courtney (who are more sociopathic than her).
  • Beware the Silly Ones: She has proven time and again that she is very unstable.
  • Big Eater: A rather disgusting example. In "Total Drama Drama Drama Drama Island", she casually gorges herself on almost a hundred marshmallows in a single sitting, then runs off to throw up from eating too much... then grabs some hotdogs and starts eating again once she's done puking.
  • The Big Gal: On the Killer Grips and Team Amazon before the switch.
  • Blood Knight: Izzy is one who enjoys fighting, although not to the death (usually).
  • Catchphrase: As Explosivo, "Boom-boom!"
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: Her default expression.
  • Chewing the Scenery: Katie Crown goes all out crazy while voicing Izzy, even improvising a vast amount of her lines.
  • Class Clown: Although her first season is set in a summer camp rather than a high school, Izzy otherwise fits the trope, frequently cracking jokes and pulling pranks on her fellow campers.
  • Cleavage Window: In her signature outfit. Also used as a Victoria's Secret Compartment in one of the Action aftermaths.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Her defining character trait, as can be seen from her label.
Leshawna: Is it just me, or is that girl some kind of crazy?
  • Cool Crown: She wears one in her second audition tape.
  • Creepy Good: Despite her weird and borderline insane antics, Izzy is quite a friendly fellow to most contestants.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Was on the receiving end when up against Mal while she was in a spider costume in "Suckers Punched".
  • Cute and Psycho: She's is a Genki Girl who is very happy-go-lucky and crazy as all get out.
  • Cute Bruiser: She can hold her own against Chef and then some.
  • Demoted to Extra: In World Tour, Izzy has no major interactions with anybody besides Noah and Owen (having very little interactions with either Alejandro or Tyler despite the smaller teams), is never seen in the confessional booth, is eliminated through a Non-Gameplay Elimination halfway through the same episode where DJ is eliminated (notably being the only contestant to rank lower than a member of Team Victory), doesn't stick to her usual tradition of returning after a previous elimination despite the reason for her elimination being cured in the very next episode, and is even mysteriously missing throughout the fourth aftermath episode.
  • Determinator: When she heard about the Total Drama Island auditions, she camped outside a producer's front door for three weeks until he agreed to cast her on the show. She now has a restraining order against her and she can't come within two miles of his house.
  • Dissonant Serenity: She shows no concern about being covered in bees or a snake trying to kill her.
  • Ditzy Genius: Did she mention to you that she has an IQ of 188? Cuz she does! In World Tour, a blow to the head makes her a super genius; however, she reverts back to her usual, crazy self with another blow to the head.
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": She demands to be called "Kaleidoscope/E-scope" during the first part of the second season.
  • Dub Name Change: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to "Édith".
  • Early Personality Signs: As a baby, she howled at the full moon from her crib and could only fall back asleep to horror movie soundtracks, indicating she's always been an animalistic Nightmare Fetishist. Her TDWT bio adds a claim that she blew up her preschool with fireworks, and she's a pyromaniac as a teenager just as well.
  • Everyone Has Standards: As detached from reality as she usually is, she's clearly annoyed with Owen when he throws her towards a killer (actually Chef Hatchet in disguise). Though she seems to have forgotten all about it by the finale.
  • Extreme Omnivore: She casually bites the head off a raw fish when she returns in "No Pain, No Game", demonstrating her wilderness survival skills.
  • Fiery Redhead: So fiery, she is certifiably insane.
  • Fighting Irish: According to Word of God, she's Irish, and is a Fiery Redhead and Action Girl capable of fist-fighting Chef to a standstill.
  • Fish Eyes: Briefly in "Aftermath: Revenge of the Telethon".
  • "Flowers for Algernon" Syndrome: Becomes a super-genius in the Jamaica episode but returns to her "normal" self in the second aftermath.
  • Freaky Is Cool: In her first audition video, she openly admits that she enjoys being freaky.
  • Friend to All Living Things: She seems to get along better with animals than people, befriending prairie dogs, camels, beavers, and a snake with ease (although the last one bit her).
  • Fun Personified: The character most dedicated to comic relief, being all about craziness and being silly. She's always out to have a blast and live life to the fullest.
  • Gasshole: In the season one special she ate 95 marshmallows, chugged some soda and burped louder than Owen ever could right in Eva's face. After saying that Eva could burp better, she burps loud enough to cause a small tidal wave in a pool. Naturally, Owen is turned on by this.
  • Genki Girl: Hyper does not even begin to describe Izzy; she's so genki, that she's even enthusiastic about getting poison ivy wrapped around her face as part of a challenge.
  • Girl with Psycho Weapon: Normally a paintball gun would not qualify as a "psycho weapon", but because it's Izzy, she converted hers into a bazooka launcher.
  • Good Bad Girl: She's a nutty chick with an extreme love for danger, but she also has a heart of gold right underneath that mental persona of hers.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: As Explosivo, she uses a few Spanish words in her sentences, like "loco" (crazy) and "Sí, muy caliente!" (Yes, very hot!).
  • Heroic Comedic Sociopath: Especially when she's Explosivo! She also blew up the beach on Boney Island, using her special "kindling", and loves being hunted down by the RCMP.
Izzy: You'll never get me alive! AHAHAHAHAHA!!
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: The Tiny Girl to Owen's Huge Guy. While the height difference isn't that big, Izzy is rather thin, while Owen is very fat.
  • I Have Many Names: She insists on being called Izzy, Kaleidoscope/E-Scope, Explosivo, Esquire, and Brainzilla at different times.
  • The Hyena: She is often seen laughing at something or someone, often at her own antics.
  • Hypocritical Humor: In one episode of Action she gets frustrated by her teams' idiocy and states she's "surrounded by loons", which is particularly amusing considering her history as being the biggest Cloud Cuckoo Lander in the cast.
  • Impossible Genius: As Brainzilla, she claims to have worked out time travel.
  • Improbably High I.Q.: Of 188. Or so she claims.
  • Inexplicably Awesome: She's an Action Girl and one of Total Drama's best combatants (capable of regularly beating up a Scary Black Man), has an alleged IQ of 188, Speaks Fluent Animal, has pyrotechnic knowledge, is a master of many weapons, displays Toon Physics, and has at least four split personalities, one of which is a savant level genius who figured out time travel.
  • In-Series Nickname: "Psycho Hose Beast", mainly by Heather.
  • Knuckle Cracking: When she's about to take on Chef in "Hide And Be Sneaky".
  • Large Ham: Izzy is about as subtle as a fireworks factory on fire.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Characterized by her tendency to impulsively jump right into danger without hesitation.
  • Lethally Stupid: What does she do when she's informed of a bomb in front of her? Tap it with a hammer!
  • Loophole Abuse: Izzy invokes this when she returns in "The Chefshank Redemption", telling Chris and the others that they technically eliminated "E-Scope", not "Izzy".
  • Mad Bomber: Part of the reason why she insists on being called Explosivo as (s)he's "Loco for Boom-Boom!".
  • Made of Iron: While she gets hurt just as much as other characters, she’s among the few who take the punishment and gets right back up with it barely phasing her.
  • The Mad Hatter: Izzy is off the rails and she’s proud of it, no matter who else gets weirded out by her antics.
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: To Owen.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Masculine Girl to Noah's Feminine Boy.
  • Master of Disguise: Izzy loves to dress up and play the part of a ferocious animal. Her roles include a bear in "The Sucky Outdoors", a polar bear in the World Tour intro sequence, and a giant spider in both "Finders Creepers" and "Suckers Punched".
  • Motor Mouth: Izzy is prone to rapid-fire and often lengthy mind dumps.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Her standard outfit includes a cleavage window, a bare midriff, and a skirt that shows damn near everything between her legs. She also had a "meh" reaction to losing her bikini bottom in the pool.
  • The Münchausen: She is full of insane stories about where she learned her survival skills. Most of the cast dismiss everything she says (unless she's talking about how crazy she is, which is true), however, it turns out she really is on the run from the RCMP, as discovered when they come for her during one of the marshmallow ceremonies. All the other campers are left staring in wide-eyed shock as she runs off into the woods, laughing madly and followed by the helicopter.
  • Nice Girl: Troll tendencies and being completely insane aside Izzy is one of the kindest characters out of the first cast and tries to get along with almost everyone.
  • No Indoor Voice: Izzy has an occasional tendency to shout much of her dialogue.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown:
    • She regularly beats Chef, a man more than twice her size, in a straight-up fistfight.
    • She fell victim to one by Mike (as Mal) in "Suckers Punched".
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: Happens twice:
    • In Up the Creek, the RCMP come for her, which causes her to flee into the woods, effectively quitting the game, although the episode's preceding events suggest that she would probably have been voted off anyway.
    • In World Tour, she is taken by the (presumably) Canadian military in order to harness her new-found superintelligence.
  • Noodle Incident: "If I can handle hand-to-paw combat with a polar bear, I can handle a bald, emotionally withdrawn cook in a Halloween costume!"
  • The Nose Knows: Claimed to "smell something lucky" during a maze challenge in Egypt. A more definite case of this power comes during All-Stars, when she's immediately able to tell that there's something wrong with "Mike" because of his scent.
"You smell weird! Like a honey cruller wrapped in rotten ham. Good on the inside, poison on the outside."
  • Obfuscating Insanity: Izzy's crazy antics are an excellent means of distraction, keeping her on the periphery of the drama and able to be flexible with where she needs to be. She outright boasts (only in the confessional) of having an IQ of 188, and her brief stint as Brainzilla shows that this isn't a lie.
  • Odd Friendship: With Noah and Eva during the Island special.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: She sobers up during particularly dangerous situations, such as the "Masters of Disasters" incident mentioned above.
  • The Ophelia: Izzy is a fairly good example, with lots of emphasis being put on her mental instability, but nevertheless is a very attractive young lady.
  • Perpetual Smiler: Aside from a few rare moments, she is always seen with some kind of smile on her face, usually a large, goofy grin.
  • Pet the Dog: After Katie and Sadie were initially placed on separate teams, she switched teams with Katie so she could be with her best friend.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: She regularly gives a whupping to Chef Hatchet (who's at least twice her height and three times her width), as well as being able to throw the 296-pound Owen with ease.
  • Plucky Girl: The only time she has ever been genuinely upset is when Owen shoved her into the apparent Psycho Killer with a chainsaw and a hook before fleeing.
  • The Pollyanna: Exaggerated. While Izzy is generally happy-go-lucky, only someone as crazy as her would take being strangled by a snake in stride, even going as far as calling it friendly and referring to a bite as a kiss.
Duncan: Uh, Izzy, you've got a snake on your head.
Izzy: I know, but don't worry. He's friendly. (the snake bites her, everyone gasps in terror) See? Kisses! (passes out)
  • The Prankster: Izzy loves playing tricks on her fellow campers. In "The Sucky Outdoors", she pranks her team by dressing up as a bear.
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: Before beating up Chef (again) in World Tour, she yells, "EGYPTIAN STYLE!!"
  • Prim and Proper Bun: She ties her hair into one of these when she becomes Brainzilla, a contrast from her normally wild personality.
  • Primal Chest-Pound: Early on in Action, she beats her chest and does a Tarzan yell after Owen calls her Kaleidoscope when she was left behind.
  • Psycho Ex-Girlfriend: Not so much towards Owen, but to some of the guys she previously dated. In the first aftermath episode, she mentions her ex-boyfriend Graham, who filed for a restraining order against her.
  • Pyromaniac: She has quite a sadistic grin on her face when she creates the Izzy Fireball in the first season, and when she rigs (and detonates) the explosives in the War episode in the second.
  • Redhead In Green: Her regular outfit as well as her swimwear.
  • Reincarnation: Of her great-grandmother, Mavis, or so she claims.
  • Running Gag:
    • Izzy returning to the game either as a contestant after previously being eliminated, or just as a cameo at least once per season. The only season she does not do this is World Tour. She has also managed to be on more than one team in every season she has competed in.
    • For that matter, leaving the game in an irregular fashion.
  • Sanity Ball: She's normally the opposite of sane, but when her team gets locked inside a tank that's slowly filling up with water in "Masters of Disasters", she's the only person who manages to stay calm and look for a solution.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: In the special:
Izzy: Noah, I'm counting on you for three gallons of diesel fuel.
Noah: Sure thing. I'll just get my unicorn to deliver it.
    Izzy: Perfect!
  • Self-Applied Nickname: In Action, she decides she'll be called Kaleidoscope or E-Scope for short and insists everyone refer to her as such, even going so far as to not respond unless called by that name.
  • Shipper on Deck: She ships Cody/Sierra. She also smiled when Lindsay remembered Tyler, implying that she ships them too.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: This was even proven in the episode "Full Metal Drama" of Action, where she genuinely thinks that Owen is cute, while Justin isn't (the latter was the cause of her second elimination of that season).
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Given she's one of the most recognizable characters in the series, and along with Ezekiel is the most likely to appear at random.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: She has a habit of popping up from seemingly nowhere from time to time.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Her Brainzilla persona wears glasses.
  • Smoke Out: She disappears in a puff of smoke after being eliminated the second time on Island.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Becomes the only girl on Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Hot.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: She can communicate with prairie dogs and camels. She also claims to have taken refuge in a beaver's den and was cared for by a family of beavers.
  • Spiders Are Scary: Makes a guest appearance in Revenge and All-Stars dressed as a Giant Spider, each time freaking out Cameron.
  • Split Personality: She forges a few in Action: "Kaleidoscope/E-scope", "Explosivo", and very briefly, "Esquire". Gains another persona in World Tour, "Brainzilla," who can be invoked via head trauma.
  • Stripperiffic: Her normal outfit is a sleeveless crop top with a cleavage window and a sarong that shows off her long legs.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Her biography says she stalks boys that interest her.
  • Strong Girl, Smart Guy: She and Eva pull double duty as the Strong Girls to Noah's Smart Guy.
  • Suddenly Fluent in Gibberish: In "Walk Like an Egyptian - Part 2", she is able to convince a stubborn camel to carry the members of Team Amazon across a desert by speaking to it in camelese.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Izzy of all people says she is "surrounded by loons" in "Master Of Disaster" after Beth and Justin screw up the advantage they had for their team by getting water all over the paper with the combination code for the door.
  • Techno Babble: Her feats of "genius" as Brainzilla mostly amount to a whole bunch of a particularly meaningless form of this. What the heck is infinite time travel, anyway?!
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The energetic girly girl to Eva's grumpy tomboy.
  • Tomboyish Name: Izzy, which may or may not be short for Isabella.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: In "No Pain, No Game", she enjoyed getting shocked with electric eels and having her face wrapped in poison ivy, the latter of which she specifically requested, just to see what it was like.
Leshawna: Is it just me, or is that girl some kind of crazy?
  • Toon Physics: Occasionally dives into this territory, such as in a World Tour Aftermath showing footage of her fighting Chef has her somehow attacking him from offscreen with three arms.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: She seems to have a taste for raw fish, happily tucking into them in "The Sucky Outdoors" and "No Pain, No Game".
  • Troll: Due to her craziness, Izzy can be one at times.
(while lost in the Sahara Desert)
Gwen: Uh, guys! The other team is gone. We're all alone out here!
Heather: Does anyone know where we are?
    Izzy: (laughs) Planet Earth, silly!
  • Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: She and Owen are both known for leaving little to the imagination.
  • Unusual Ears: Perhaps as a subtle way to show there is something "off" with her, her ears are depicted as being upside down.
  • Vibrant Orange: She has orange hair and a very energetic personality.
  • Vine Swing: She returns to the competition after being initially eliminated in Island by swinging on a vine.
  • Victoria's Secret Compartment: She has a habit of putting food in her cleavage.
  • What Does This Button Do?: In "Can't Help Falling in Louvre".
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She's scared of airplanes. Although in World Tour she has no problem being in the Total Drama Jumbo Jet, implying that she got over it sometime after Island.
  • Wild Card: She’s quite unpredictable with what “side” she’s on during her three seasons as a contestant. During Island, she was friendly with all of the campers for the most part and also had a relationship with Owen, one of the main heroes of the season. However, she still hung around with Heather and her gang at several points and was a sort of unofficial fourth member of their posse, at least during episodes when Heather needed extra assistance. Then she directly goes against the first Big Bad of Action, Justin, before anyone else does, making her surprisingly proactive on the "good" side, and she gets voted off because of it. Then during World Tour, she clearly annoys the new Big Bad Alejandro, yet she still supports him because they’re on a team together, which makes her still technically in support of the Big Bad although for a more understandable reason than her support of Heather during the first season. All in all, she’s a nice but crazy contestant whose allegiances are difficult to predict.
  • The Worf Effect: Izzy, who is perhaps the most capable fighter of the contestants, has lost a few times with significant implications in the setting.
    • In Revenge of the Island, Izzy is in a spider costume, gets battered by Cameron, as part of him overcoming his fear.
    • In All-Stars, to show off just how savage Mal is, Izzy (once again in the spider costume) is viciously beaten up and tossed aside by Mal. By now, it seems like Izzy wearing a spider costume is an indication she's going to lose.

    Leshawna

"Whassup ya'll, Leshawna's in da house!"

Voiced by: Novie Edwards
Label: The Sister With ‘Tude
Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers, Team Victory
Placements: 5th (TDI 2007), 8th (TDA), 15th (TDWT)
Eliminated in: Episode 22 (TDI 2007), Episode 17 (TDA), Episode 7 (TDWT)

Big, loud, and proud, Leshawna doesn't take any nonsense from others and will not hesitate to get physical if they dare to push her buttons. But under her sassy, street-smart attitude, she is loyal, compassionate, and sisterly to those she holds close to her heart.

  • The Ace: In Total Drama Island, she is one of the consistently strongest competitors. She only has one major lapse of judgement (leaving Owen to guard the food in "If You Can't Take The Heat..."), never ends up on the chopping block, and is ultimately eliminated as a result of a Diabolus ex Machina freak accident rather than any failure on her part.
  • Acrofatic: The show actually averted this at first, when she quickly tired out during the long run at the beginning of the third episode and didn't stay awake very long in the actual challenge. It didn't take long until it was played straight, however.
  • Action Girl: She's an active competitor, taking on physical challenges with ease. She successfully beat a bear in a log-rolling contest and confronted Chef in his Psycho Killer disguise.
  • Amicable Exes: With Harold. Despite her usual annoyance with Harold's attempts to hit on her, she's still very close to him and is implied to have mutual feelings for him.
  • Badass Boast: Being confident, determined and strong-willed, she has a number of these up her sleeve.
    • During the boys-versus-girls gross eating competition: "Take a whiff, boys, 'cause all I smell is victory for me and my girls!"
    • About to compete in a log-rolling challenge against a bear: "I've seen scarier-looking faces at the mall. I'm going in."
    • Confronting Chef dressed as a serial killer: "Yeah? I got sixteen years in the projects! Bring It!"
  • Big-Breast Pride: She has a large figure and is quite proud of it. When the contestants need a bra to use as a catapult during the Action reunion special, she tosses them hers and cheerfully says, "What? You ain't never seen triple D's before?"note
  • The Big Girl: On the Screaming Gaffers and Team Victory.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: One of the fattest contestants on the show, she works her large measurements quite well, Harold is strongly attracted to her, and it's portrayed that he's the one reaching. Alejandro flirts with her as well, although he had an agenda.
  • Big Fun: Not to the same extent as Owen, however (and, this ain't just physically literal).
  • Big Sister Instinct: She displays a protective attitude toward some of the other campers. When Gwen was left in tears after seeing Heather and Trent kiss, Leshawna rallied the other campers to vote off Trent (as Heather was invincible for that round) and later switched the pipes while Heather was taking a shower so she would get covered in raw sewage.
Leshawna: (to a despondent Gwen) Girl, you've got to put Trent out of your head!
Gwen: I know...I just miss him so much already.
Leshawna: Well, baby girl, nothing heals a broken heart like revenge.
    (Gwen smirks evilly in response)
  • Catchphrase: "[X] is gettin' on my last nerve."
  • Demoted to Extra: Every season she played in, she did worse and worse.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She hates Heather more than anyone else on the island does, but looks horrified after seeing her fall in a pool full of electric jellyfish in "Who Can You Trust?"
  • Expy: Of Lafawnduh Lucas. Lindsay even calls Leshawna by that name early on.
  • Fat and Proud: Leshawna is proud of her weight and isn't afraid to say so.
Leshawna: You two ever see anyone with a booty as luscious as an apple like mine?note
  • Fat Best Friend: Type A (confident) to Gwen.
  • Funny Afro: In Action, warm, humid weather causes her weave to somehow turn into a gigantic afro.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Only a couple of examples, though. First, her badmouthing of the entire cast in Action may count. The second example is when she beat Heather up for warning her about Alejandro being evil. When we next see her after her elimination in World Tour, she's still glad for laying the smack-down on Heather, even though she found out she was telling the truth.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: "Harold, forget your stupid stamps! Three words: One...million...dineros!"
  • Growling Gut: Her stomach let out a loud, hungry roar in "Basic Straining" during the canoe challenge, where the contestants weren't allowed to eat unless someone dropped out. She also ends up with a bloated, gurgling gut during "Full Metal Drama" thanks to drinking several of Chef's bran smoothies.
  • Hypocrite: After Island, she was shown to be extremely capable of being underhanded, two-faced, and unreasonable at times, just like plenty of the people she'd claimed moral high ground over.
  • Hypocritical Humor: In "Not So Happy Campers — Part 2", when she and Heather are trading insults, one of the things she mocks Heather for is wearing a ponytail, even though she also wears one.
  • Idiot Ball:
    • In "If You Can't Take The Heat...", she leaves Big Eater Owen to guard the food that the Screaming Gophers cooked completely unsupervised. Naturally, he gorges himself on the entire plate of ribs, turning their performance in the challenge from "bad" to "unsalvageable".
    • In "Slap, Slap, Revolution". After she knocks Heather off the challenge, she gets so enraged that she accidentally threw the challenge to beat up Heather, rather than doing so after the challenge. This cost her the game. Had she stayed on her platform, she could have waited for Alejandro and Sierra to finish the fight and then, no matter what, her team would have still had three players, she Lampshades and regrets this in "Revenge Of The Telethon" saying that all it did was getting her eliminated.
  • Jerkass Ball: In "If You Can't Take the Heat...", she finds it amusing (along with the other girls) seeing Harold when he wakes up naked the next morning thanks to Duncan, Geoff and DJ. This is more jarring in her case, given how she dislikes Heather for bullying Gwen even though Harold suffers the same at Duncan's hands, and ironically, she leaves her underwear all over her cabin just like Harold does.
  • Jive Turkey: Part of her "Sister with 'Tude" label.
  • Karma Houdini: In "Anything Yukon Do I Can Do Better", Leshawna suggests that in order to save time during the bobsled challenge any of Team Victory's members who don't make it to the bobsled head straight for the finish line so that they don't have to keep stopping at any of the checkpoints. When Team Victory ultimately loses the challenge due to Bridgette never making it to the finish line (as her tongue was stuck to one of the checkpoints); not only is it never pointed out that they lost due to Leshawna's idea, but Bridgette's the one that gets eliminated while Leshawna isn't even in the bottom 2.
  • Large Ham: Especially whenever she's angry.
  • Last-Minute Hookup: She and Harold end up together right after his elimination when she finds out the love letters about her was from him. Leshawna lampshades this in the Island special and breaks it off with him. However, they still remain close friends.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: Light to Gwen's dark.
  • Mama Bear: She stands up for the more vulnerable campers (e.g. Lindsay, Beth, Harold) against the stronger, more manipulative ones (e.g. Heather, Courtney, Duncan).
  • Never My Fault: In "Full Metal Drama," Leshawna drinks two smoothies meant for Owen's digestive system. When she falls victim to stomach problems, she blames Chef for creating them despite drinking them in her own free will.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: In "Search and Do Not Destroy", after hearing that Trent was cheating on Gwen with Heather, she successfully gets all the campers to vote off Trent, because Heather had gotten an invincibility pass for that day's challenge. She doesn't learn until the elimination ceremony that Trent was tricked by Heather into breaking Gwen's heart, and was not really two-timing her. Thankfully, Gwen and Trent are able to set things straight and forgive each other before he has to leave the island.
  • The Nicknamer: She even rattles them all off to motivate her team in Action. Also, she sometimes calls herself "Shawnie" for short.
  • Odd Friendship: According to the Action special, she and Tyler teamed up to compete on multiple reality shows.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: Leshawna often personally delievers Heather's karma, such as hooking up the washroom's water line to the septic tank in "Search and Do Not Destroy" while Heather was in the shower, resulting in her getting Covered in Gunge.
  • Plot Allergy: In "One Flu Over the Cuckoos", Leshawna claims to be lactose intolerant when she's offered pizza. And in "If You Can't Take the Heat...", she breaks out in hives as an allergic response to pineapple. Neither allergy comes up in any other episode.
  • Revenge Before Reason: In "Slap Slap Revolution", she unwittingly throws the challenge in order to give Heather a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown. This results in her elimination.
  • Sassy Black Woman: Her label is the "Sister with 'Tude". Her first appearance is a great example of the trope.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Harold wrote a haiku about her, and she fell for him when she found out that it was him who wrote it.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Regarding her awful dancing abilities.
  • So Proud of You: Her reaction after Noah angrily calls Chris a "shmuck" and kicks a TV with his image on it in the Action special.
Leshawna: Didn't know you had it in you, string bean!
  • Spell My Name With An S: Her name can be spelled "Leshawna" or "LeShawna".
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: She gets focused on a good bit because of her conflict with Heather (and to an extent Courtney in Action); however, she has been Out of Focus since her elimination in World Tour.
  • Sucks at Dancing: Leshawna believes herself to be a great dancer and therefore nominates herself for the tie-breaker dancing contest in "Beach Blanket Bogus". The Screaming Gaffers immediately regret going along as Leshawna begins to shake it in a horribly inelegant way, winning only because Trent sabotages himself. In "Broadway, Baby!", she energetically follows along with DJ's tap dancing, only to be told by Lindsay to stop "for the love of dancing". In "Slap Slap Revolution", Alejandro realizes that the constant choreographic criticism Leshawna gets makes her sensitive to choreographic compliments, which he uses to gain her trust. And in "Aftermath II: Revenge of the Telethon", Leshawna takes charge of the fundraiser with a catchy song because that's what the hosts want, while she wants to dance but is told no. However, when Bridgette and Harold join in as backup dancers, Leshawna gives it a go too to everyone's horror. The hosts get the idea to extort money from the viewers by promising that Leshawna will stop dancing only if they get at least $100,000. They get $134,524.
  • Team Mom: To the Screaming Gophers in Island, bringing them together and leading them when things get hard.
  • Third-Person Person: She occasionally refers to herself in the third person.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: In World Tour, particularly in "Slap, Slap Revolution" where she unwittingly loses the challenge in order to slap Heather silly.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: In Action and later World Tour. She got worse and worse in this regard the worse she performed by season.
  • Trash Talk: She's quite skilled at this, especially when it comes to Heather.
Heather: Back off ghetto glamour, too tight pants wearing, rap star wannabe.
Leshawna: Mall shopping, ponytail wearing, Teen Girl reading, peaking in high school prom queen.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Her teammates are understandably upset when her Wounded Gazelle Gambit and trash-talking are brought to light in "Masters of Disasters" and "Million Dollar Babies".
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: In "Phobia Factor", Chef terrorizes her by wearing a spider costume and chasing her around.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: In Action, she pretends to have a breakdown in order to guilt trip her teammates into letting her have a night at a spa away from the set.
  • We Used to Be Friends:
    • Leshawna and Heather were bitter enemies in Total Drama Island, and that did not change in Total Drama Action.
    • In Island, she ends up developing a friendship with Duncan in "Trial by Tri-Armed Triathlon". However, this newfound friendship deteriorates in Action due to Duncan constantly picking on Harold (whom Leshawna has a soft spot for) and completely ends due to Leshawna fake crying to get the spa reward and insulting everyone in doing so which leads both of them to try and vote each other off in "Super Hero-ld".
  • Will They or Won't They?: The crux of her dynamic with Harold; in spite of Leshawna constantly saying they're just friends, throughout each season they show plenty of Ship Tease, and at multiple points she even returns his affections. This is especially prominent during their minimal interactions in World Tour, where she's a lot more tolerant of his advances and even flirts back. In spite of this, their relationship is constantly portrayed vaguely, leaving it open to whether or not they'll get back together.
    • If the exclusive clip from "Hawaiian Style" is anything to go by, with them lounging on the beach beside the other couples, than it seems like they Hooked Up Afterwards.

    Lindsay
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/come_on_lindsay_5.png

"Uh, Kyle? Can I have the cabin with the lake view because I'm the prettiest?"

Label: The Dumb Princess
Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Victory, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 9th (TDI 2007), 6th (TDA), 14th (TDWT), 14th (TDAS)
Eliminated in: Episode 18 (TDI 2007), Episode 21 (TDA), Episode 9 (TDWT), Episode 1 (TDAS)

A textbook Dumb Blonde, Lindsay combines drop-dead gorgeous looks with the intellectual capacity of a frosted cupcake. Although her naivety and childishness often get her in trouble, she is full of nothing but good intentions and has not a bad bone in her body.

  • Accidental Misnaming: A very prominent running gag is that she constantly mispronounces other characters' names, especially if the person in question is her boyfriend Tyler, where she sometimes gets it flat out wrong, not even matching the same starting letter, much to his dismay.
  • All Girls Like Ponies: In the bike race challenge, Lindsay models her bike to look like a unicorn.
  • All-Loving Heroine: She is immensely nice to everyone she meets, even to Heather, though that changes after her Break the Cutie moment in "That's Off The Chain".
  • Arc Hero: Of Action alongside Beth. The two regret working with Heather last season and don't want to repeat their mistake, so they end up showing a lot of opposition to Justin and Courtney. Courtney in particular comes to treat Lindsay as a rival similar to how Heather treated Gwen and Leshawna, though she ultimately ends up being a Decoy Protagonist because she's voted off rather anti-climactically due to her own stupidity.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: While telling off Heather in "That's Off the Chain!", the last point Lindsay made was Heather's shoes were tacky.
  • Backstabbing the Alpha Bitch: In "If You Can't Take The Heat...", she helps Leshawna and Beth lock Heather in the walk-in freezer. Lindsay does let Heather out, and she forgives Lindsay; however, Heather threatened to shave Lindsay's hair off if the latter ever betrayed the former's authority again. In "I Triple Dog Dare You!", Lindsay uses Heather's own threat against her as a dare, leading to the latter's downfall.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Quite possibly the most definitive example within the entire franchise. She certainly has the generally eye-catching looks (to which she has even worked as a professional model with them), and while she's often shown to be dimmer than a defective light bulb, she still genuinely has a heart that's as big as a puppy's.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While Lindsay rarely gets angry, she curses out Heather in "That's Off the Chain!", and subsequently created the dare that led to Heather's downfall.
  • Book Dumb: She thinks English and American are two different languages.
  • Bowdlerization:
    • The American airing of her famous cursing scene was re-dubbed by the original actress... very badly.
    • Similarly, her line "Maybe if I get an eating disorder or my boobs done, I'll get on a [magazine] cover!" was changed to "Maybe if I get an acting coach and my hair and nails done...!"
  • Brainless Beauty: She's allegedly the most attractive character in-universe, and a good candidate for the dumbest. Her Island character bio currently provides the page quote.
Official bio: Lindsay is proof that life is easier when you're drop-dead gorgeous, but to be fair, Mother Nature balanced things by making her as sharp as a frosted cupcake.
  • Brutal Honesty: She tells Courtney that almost nobody likes her in "Haute Camp-ture".
  • Bust-Contrast Duo: She noticeably has a bigger set of "tomatoes" than either Heather or Beth do.
  • Call It Karma: Right before she leaves the island after she is eliminated in "That's Off The Chain!" she tells Heather that she hopes she gets everything her karma owes her.
  • Catchphrase:
    • "Are you Tyler?"
    • A very distinctive sounding "Ohhhhh!" when someone explains something to her or she has a major realization.
  • Child-Like Voice: She has a high-pitched voice that befits her bubbly personality as well her lack of intelligence.
  • Class Princess: Despite her first season taking place on a summer camp rather than a high school, Lindsay otherwise fits the trope, who is easily the most genuinely popular camper among the first gen cast, and her best friend Beth is a short, mousy naïve nerd with No Social Skills.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: In an Out-of-Character Moment, Lindsay snaps at Bridgette when the latter falls into Tyler's arms in "Not Quite Famous".
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Largely due to her stupidity, combined with her very youthful nature, she can evoke moments of this.
Lindsay: Go ahead, ring her bell!
(Chris rings the bell on her pony bike.)
Lindsay: The real bike has sound effects like this: (She imitates the sounds of a pony.)
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Courtney asks if anyone knew anything about bombs, Lindsay immediately presents herself as an expert, because she was once in a play that "bombed."
  • Cute, but Cacophonic:
    • Downplayed. Her Child-Like Voice is appropriate for her personality; however, in "Not So Happy Campers - Part 1", Gwen covers her ears when Lindsay whines about the communal bathrooms. Shortly thereafter, Lindsay screams bloody murder when she finds a cockroach in the cabin.
    • Both Courtney and Duncan were annoyed by Lindsay's awful singing at the start of "Rock n' Rule"; even several animals were running away.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: As well as having minimal intelligence, she also has occasions for falling into this territory. One such example is when she attempts to make a blowfish dish for Trent as one of the challenges, but she fails in actually making a delectable one that's safe enough to eat.
  • The Cutie: Her cute, bubbly voice, and ditzy, but kindhearted personality definitely gives off this vibe.
  • Daddy's Girl: According to her Island bio.
  • Damsel in Distress: Gets kidnapped by Sasquatchanakwa in "Runaway Model".
  • Demoted to Extra: She's usually a major character, just behind the likes of Owen, Heather, Duncan, Gwen, and Courtney. However in All-Stars, she's the first elimination of the season.
  • The Ditz: Despite being one of the dumbest contestants with little skill or clue as to what she's doing, she still remains one of the best contestants who fortune favors.
  • The Dog Bites Back:
    • In "If You Can't Take the Heat", instead of handing Heather her makeup bag, Lindsay throws it into the walk-in freezer, allowing Leshawna to lock Heather inside.
    • Lindsay comes up with the dare that led to Heather's downfall in "I Triple Dog Dare You", using Heather's own threat of cutting off Lindsay's hair against her.
  • Dub Name Change: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to “Tania.”
  • Dumbass Has a Point: In "Haute Camp-ture", she points out to Courtney that even if Harold hadn't rigged the votes against her, she would've been voted out eventually anyway, since nobody liked her.
  • Dumbass No More: In Action she starts acting more intelligently, especially in "Get a Clue" where she figures out a lot of the clues and strategically takes Duncan to the reward just to mess with Courtney. Pity it doesn't last and she's back to being a Dumb Blonde an episode later.
  • Dumb Blonde: Even though she isn't a real blonde. Heather brings this up when she is looking for hair, stating "I'm too smart to be Lindsay blonde."
  • Dumb Is Good: Her tension with Courtney and Heather really emphasizes this, but aside from those two, she is friends with just about everyone else on the show.
  • Dreadful Musician: In Action, Lindsay is revealed to be a terrible singer and might be tone deaf. She sings much better in World Tour, though.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Lindsay thinks romance is sweet, but during the first few episodes of Action, even she gets sick of Bridgette's and Geoff's constant making out.
  • Exact Words: In Who Can You Trust? from the first season, Lindsay claims she took biology. This doesn’t mean she can actually cook animals, which costs her the win in that challenge.
  • Flanderization: By All-Stars her Dumb Blonde shtick is so exaggerated that she can't even figure out how to push a carriage.
  • Foil:
    • To Heather. Both are a take on the "rich, popular, pretty girl" archetype; however, Lindsay is the Class Princess who genuinely liked by almost everyone despite her stupidity, while Heather, as the series' main Alpha Bitch, embodies the Popular Is Evil trope, largely using fear and coercion to get her way.
    • To Courtney. Both have a Child-Like Voice; however, Lindsay and Courtney are day and night. Lindsay's childish voice is a sign of her bubbly and carefree personality, while Courtney's shows that she's uptight, condensending, and bratty.
  • Forgetful Jones: She's terrible at remembering names, especially for her boyfriend Tyler.
  • Former Friend of Alpha Bitch: Unlike Heather, Lindsay originally believed their alliance was a genuine friendship.
  • Fun Personified: She's always there to lighten the mood and provide laughs while wanting nothing more than to have a good time.
  • Genki Girl: While peppy and energetic, Lindsay is nowhere near as hyper as Izzy or Sierra.
  • Genius Ditz: For the most part, she's a total idiot, but she shown herself to be mechanically skilled when it comes to bikes in "That's Off the Chain", not only making high-quality bikes for herself and Heather, but being capable of diassembling Chef's motorcycle and incorporating the engine into Heather's bike.
  • Graceful Loser: She takes her elimination in Island pretty well, walking down the Dock of Shame and onto the Boat of Losers in style and cheerfully saying goodbye to her friends. Granted having epically told off Heather beforehand probably helped.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Despite being an unnatural blonde, her heart is in the right place.
  • The Heart: For Team Victory; overlaps more and more with The Lancer as the team dwindles in number. Even after the team had lost half its members, she did her best to keep DJ and Leshawna from giving up. And after Leshawna was eliminated, she still pep-talked DJ enough that they worked together and scored their first actual win.
  • Held Back in School: In "Ocean's Eight - or Nine", Lindsay reveals that she was held back in Grade 8 twice.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: She and Beth become good friends during their time in Heather's alliance in Island. They maintain their friendship after breaking free from her and become very close during Action.
  • Hidden Depths: Rare occasions will show that there's more to her than just a pretty face.
    • She displays a surprising amount of skill at water-skiing in "X-Treme Torture", winning the challenge for her team.
    • In "That's Off the Chain", Lindsay manages to build not only her bike, but Heather's as well in the time it took everyone to make theirs. The quality of the bikes was clearly professional level given that Duncan complimented her Pony bike for its speed and the fact that Heather won the race with the bike she built too.
    • She successfully solves the murder mystery in "Get a Clue" on her own.
    • Her sheer enthusiasm for a gardening challenge in "Million Dollar Babies" suggests that Lindsay has quite the green thumb.
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Played incredibly straight in "Rock N' Rule," although she gets much better by World Tour.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Her overly trusting nature is often exploited by villains.
  • Iconic Item: Lindsay always has abundant makeup with her, but the one she truly can't do without is her collection of lip gloss. In "Ocean's Eight - Or Nine", she helps feed Owen with her fruit-flavored lip gloss. In "Broadway, Baby!", she insists she can't go home when she's not even used up a full tube of the season's worth she brought with her. In "Aftermath II: Revenge of the Telethon", the 400 tubes left when Lindsay got voted off are used as gifts for each donation of 100 dollars. And in "Heroes Vs. Villains", Lindsay reveals she only came back to the show to win money for more lip gloss, but that it actually isn't worth it.
  • Idiot Houdini: Despite being one of the dullest contestants on the show, she very frequently gets away with her stupidity due to a combination of her appearance, kindheartedness, and pure dumb luck. She makes it far in the first two seasons and qualifies as an All-Star.
  • Impossible Hourglass Figure: The best example. Apparently, she's the most attractive female character on the show.
  • Informed Deformity: Her ordinary-looking feet are supposedly so big that she can barely fit a glass slipper onto her toe in "The Princess Pride". In every other episode when she is shown barefoot, her feet are normal-sized.
  • Innocent Beta Bitch: To Heather in Island, as she was often forced by her to set others up for her evil deeds, such as keeping Gwen from entering the cabins, or standing with Heather when making Bridgette pick a side. However, Lindsay turned out to be more like a Minion with an F in Evil, as she oftentimes has great trouble carrying out Heather's commands.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: She has blue eyes and lacks a genuine malicious backbone on her, being that she's very sweet and good-natured, even to her enemies.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: While it's not stated she has no nudity taboo, she's sometimes too dull to realize she's left something exposed.
  • Insane Troll Logic:
Justin: Which way do we go?
Lindsay: North is nice, but east is least... West is best!
Leshawna: Can't argue with that. Wouldn't even know how to!
  • Jerkass Ball: In "If You Can't Take the Heat...", she finds it amusing (along with the other girls) seeing Harold when he wakes up naked the next morning thanks to Duncan, Geoff and DJ. Possibly downplayed in her case, given her lack of common sense on some occasions, so she could have easily done this without malice.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: She's one of the nicest characters among the first generation, but also one of the dumbest.
  • Lethal Chef: She tries to prepare fugu blowfish and ends up poisoning Trent by mistake. He got better, but still. The prior episode had Lindsay pour too much flambé liquid on a flambé in the cooking challenge, which resulted in the flambé and Heather's eyebrows getting burnt.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: Light to Heather's Dark.
  • Little Black Dress: She sports one during her solo in "What's Not to Love", although it's not actually colored black due to the song's Art Shift. It also serves as a Shout-Out to Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's.
  • Lust Object: Chris has a very inappropriate, unhidden attraction to her.
  • Male Gaze: In the cowboy-themed episode of Action, Owen, Lindsay, and Beth come out of the showers after the challenge, all draped in towels. Owen takes a moment to steal a peek at her exposed cleavage while she reacts in shock to Gwen's confession to the team that she broke up with Trent after learning that he was intentionally throwing the game for her benefit.
  • Minion with an F in Evil: To Heather, since Lindsay is an Innocent Beta Bitch who's both too nice and too dumb to be evil.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She wears a tight tank top and a miniskirt most of the time, and has even dressed up as an admiral and Wonder Woman.
  • Never Bareheaded: She always wears something on her head, usually a blue bandana. Even when she doesn't wear the bandana, she still has something on her head, like a sleeping mask, a hat (e.g. when she dresses up as an admiral), or a towel wrapped around her head. In her TDI promo picture, she wears a white headband and a pink flower.
  • Nice Girl: She's a total sweetheart. And an idiot.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: For the Lindsay-Beth-Heather alliance in Island, she is the nice to Heather's mean and Beth's in-between. Despite not being the sharpest tool in the shed, she's one of the nicest characters on the show.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Lindsay loudly puts her foot down that Beth should play the role of the serial killer in "The Sand Witch Project," shocking every single member of her team that she's being so forceful.
  • Pair the Dumb Ones: She's a Brainless Beauty and is paired with Dumb Jock Tyler.
  • Ping Pong Naïveté: She shows the occasional glimpse of intelligence at times, most prominently in "Full Metal Drama" where she takes over leadership as "Admiral Lindsay Her Hotness".
  • Pink Means Feminine: Some of her alternate outfits such as her sleepwear and her loincloth in "One Million Bucks, BC" are pink.
  • Pom-Pom Girl: She mentions that she's a cheerleader at her high school in "The Sand Witch Project", and unlike Heather, she's the nice girl (but also Brainless Beauty) variety.
  • Popular Is Dumb: Especially if you're an antagonist out shopping for a lackey to manipulate.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: After Lindsay realized she was being used, she gives Heather an expletive-laden one in "That's Off the Chain!".
  • Sarcasm-Blind: Due to her stupidity.
Noah: Throwing balls, gee, another mentally challenging test.
    Lindsay: I know right?
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: With DJ in World Tour, once they're the only members left of Team Victory.
  • Shoe Size Angst: In "The Princess Pride," she's revealed to have big feet, and her big toe only fit on the glass boot. However, she had been seen barefoot multiple times before and since then; more specifically, she and Courtney were both seen barefooted in "Super Hero-ld", which was only two episodes before "The Princess Pride".
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: When Tyler approached to her after the cockroach incident in "Not so Happy Campers, Part 1", he declares to her that he will do the same thing as what Duncan did to the insect. Thus, she immediately fell in love with him.
  • Smart Ball: During Action and World Tour, she sometimes had those. The best example is probably "The Sand Witch Project," when she figured out Harold and Duncan's horror movie tricks when no one else on her team could.
  • Spoiled Sweet: According to her Total Drama Island bio, she comes from a rich family, with a doting father who gives her anything she wants. Her Sweet Sixteenth party was more expensive than an average house. She is also a total sweetheart, which even her friends from home admit according to her biography. In her audition tape, she says that she gets along well with everyone, including ugly girls (fittingly enough, her closest friend in Action is Beth, and after Lindsay is eliminated, she tells Beth that friendship is more important than money instead of being mad at her for indirectly causing her elimination). She's also a bit naive, which leads to contestants like Heather, whom she genuinely treated like a friend before realizing her true nature, to easily manipulate her.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: She is one of the most focused-on contestants, especially considering she's never been a finalist, and has gotten deeply involved with practically every antagonist in the first three seasons (especially Heather in Island and Courtney in Action). However, in All-Stars, she was the first one voted off.
  • Thinks of Something Smart, Says Something Stupid: Tyler asks Lindsay to go on a walk with him. Lindsay thinks to herself "Have to say no. Have to say no." because Heather doesn't want her getting cuddly with anyone on the other team. She ends up saying okay and goes on the walk.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Seems to get dumber with each passing season.
  • Uncertain Doom: Was last seen floating into the atmosphere in a balloon filled with Owen's farts.
  • Vibrant Orange: Her clothes are all various shades of orange and red, which fits her cheerful, enthusiastic personality.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Heather in Island. Despite Heather's clearly abusive treatment of her, she stood by Heather no matter what (even when everyone else hated her)...until Heather betrays her in "That's Off the Chain".
  • Unlimited Wardrobe: She's worn more outfits than any other contestant in the franchise.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?:
    • She hates cockroaches, to the point where she screams bloody murder after finding just one in her cabin. Later, in "Search and Do Not Destroy", she faces one of her worst nightmares: being swarmed by cockroaches while hiding from Gwen under the bed.
    • In "Phobia Factor", she reveals that her biggest fear is walking through a minefield in heels; however, when Sadie revealed her fear to be bad haircuts, Lindsay changed hers to that. Despite supposedly overcoming said fear, Lindsay's fear of bad haircuts is reaffirmed in "If You Can't Take The Heat..." after Heather threatens to cut off all of Lindsay's hair while she slept if she ever teamed up with Leshawna again, and again in "No Pain, No Gain" after Chef tries to cut her hair with a chainsaw.
