Some rules for this edition of the Elimination Game:
- Scorekeeper picks the theme. Please keep it reasonable because the last thing we need is drama. That is to say keep it from being political, NSFW, franchise-specific (crossovers can work if well-known and broad enough, and with a readily available list to choose from) or with obtuse specifications.
- The game begins with at least twenty-five entries, depending on the scorekeeper's discretion. One entry per post, and up to two posts per poster unless 48 hours have passed, then anything goes until there are 25 entrants. Wait at least two posts before posting a second entry.
- At the nomination phase, a maximum of two entries from the same franchise can participate at any given round, and if at all only one such entry per person. In the event that the theme can be restrictive, this rule can be relaxed as per the scorekeeper's discretion.
- You are not required to nominate an entry in order to participate.
- All votes add one point to an entry, and take two points away. Those points can be distributed however you wish, so long as there is one -2 or two -1s. No exceptions!
- Invalid votes must be edited within two scorekeeper updates in order to count.
- Any entry that reaches zero is eliminated. Scorekeepers send them off with an evil message [[evil:like so]]
- Space your votes between at least five other peoples' votes, unless 24 hours have passed with not that much activity. In any context, no doubleposting.
- If the host makes a post stating the intent to tally, they have up to an hour to do the tallying. Otherwise the post will be null and void and the round shall proceed.
- If there's no update for 48 hours, the game can be safely called off or taken over by a willing participant. Scorekeepers must temporarily transfer duties to a different poster if they can't do so for a while.
- The one entry remaining wins!
If it's been 24 hours since the last game and the waitlisted troper hasn't posted, it's free game.

Round 59: Fictional(ized) Writers
Writers. Writers, they write and write. Whether they'll be authors, poets, playwrites, scriptwriters and so on. If they write (or type down) their words into a piece of literature, then they count for this thread. I'm accepting both completely fictional writers and fictionalized portrayals of real life writers, but there's two restrictions for the latter:
1: The IRL writer must not be a controversial figure. Basically, if the IRL person is a particularly awful person whether because of their beliefs and/or crimes they commited, then don't nominate a fictionalized version of them.
2: The IRL writer must have been deceased for at least 50 years. They must be dead for at least 50 years as of December 31st 2023. I figured nominating living people, even fictionalized versions of them, in the Elimination Game thread might not be the wisest idea.
3: The IRL writer must not be a victim of a horrible historical event. I do not feel comfortable with such people, such as Anne Frank, being nominated in the Elimination Game. It comes off as tasteless.
The minimum size of this cast is 25 tributes and I'll start this round two days from now PST time.
And now, here's the first writer joining us this round...
If you downvote Mrs. Fitzgerald for a "Not my Zelda" joke, then I will automatically eliminate your tributes.
Jokes aside, please don't pull "Not my [different character with the same name]" joke on me. I'm not particular fond of that joke, especially after my experience in the Artists vs. Scientists round soured said joke for me, so please don't make that joke on me. However, it's fine if you do said joke on someone else, just not me in particular (also it's okay to downvote Zelda; I will not spite you for doing so even though she's like one of my favorite women ever).

Should I accept Anne Frank, even a fictionalized version of her, into this? Considering the fact that she's one of the most well known Holocaust victims, I'm not sure if it's tasteful for her to be nominated in the Elimination Game.
