Blitzo: Stolas, don't act like what we have is anything but you wanting me to fuck you. Okay? You make that really clear all the time. But I just... I-I can't do it tonight. Okay? I'm sorry.

The series' first Multi-Part Episode. When Moxxie and Millie go on a date in the Lust ring for their anniversary, things sure do happen — namely, Blitzo inviting Stolas to the same club so he can spy on his employees, only for Blitzo to run headlong into his past.

Tropes for this episode include:

  • Aesop Amnesia: The previous episode suggested that Blitzo would try to be more respectful towards Moxxie and his relationship with Millie; however, the episode seems to reset that with Blitzo continuing to spy on Moxxie and Millie during their anniversary.
  • All There in the Script: A number of background characters within this episode actually have names as revealed by some tweets from some of of the show's staff.
  • Armor-Piercing Question:
    • Before Fizzarolli arrives at Ozzie's, Stolas asks Blitzo why he suddenly invited him for a "date". Blitzo has no answer and can't tell Stolas that he is just a plus one for him to tag behind Moxxie and Millie.
    • To a lesser extent, this happens beforehand. When Blitzo is clearly occupied spying on Moxxie and Millie, he's taken aback by Stolas asking mundane questions like, "How was your day?" and, "How did you kill the [targets]?" This throws Blitzo a little, as he's not used to Stolas showing interest in him or his day-to-day life.
  • Armor-Piercing Response: Blitzo initially scowls, crosses his arms, and looks away when Fizzarolli and Verosika first start singing about how much he sucks. However, when Verosika finally calls him a "heart-breaking freak," it breaks through Blitzo's callous veneer and he looks guilty and distraught.
  • Back for the Finale: Both Verosika and Fizzarolli return for the first part of the season finale after not appearing since their debut episodes.
  • Beta Couple: Millie and Moxxie act as this for the episode, having a stable relationship based on love that they're very open about which acts as the backdrop of the plot and contrasts the far less happy or functional relationship between Blitzo and Stolas.
  • Be Yourself: Moxxie concludes in his serenade to Millie that he doesn't want to pretend to be (or be into) something he's not just to impress other people. He concludes he's happy being himself, and their relationship just the way it is.
  • Bland-Name Product: Downplayed. In his first appearance, Stolas pours some colorful, marshmallow-y cereal not unlike Lucky Charms. However, no box is seen and it's mostly star and crescent moon shapes, befitting the celestial-themed owl demon.
  • Bookends: On his way to Ozzie's, Blitzo leaves a message to Loona that he'll be home late. At the end of the episode, he returns home and sees that Loona is off to a party with Tex, saying she'll be home late.
  • Breath Weapon: Paradise the Baphomet dancer uses her fire breath to roast a marshmallow for Fizzarolli.
  • Broken Tears: Double subverted. Blitzo sounds like he's Trying Not to Cry when he rejects the advances of Stolas, driving off in a huff. But when he gets home, Blitzo looks at a Photo Montage on his phone, with the last photo he looks being himself with who appears to be his family. Whatever this picture means to him, it causes Blitzo to actually cry, clutching a pillow and curling into a Troubled Fetal Position.
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • Fizzarolli makes a downplayed return, as he is the genuine article instead of a robot copy like the one in Loo Loo Land.
    • Verosika is a straighter example, although her role is smaller here compared to her debut. There are also brief appearances of other succubi from her group.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Stolas clearly wants there to be something more between him and Blitzo, but he can't just say so. Blitzo also shoots down Stolas when offered to come inside his mansion, saying that Stolas has made it very clear through his behavior that there's nothing between them but sex. It clearly upsets Stolas, who sits down on the steps of his mansion in tears.
  • Casting Gag: After he introduces himself, Asmodeus proceeds to lie down just like Genie as a reference to his voice actor James Monroe Iglehart, who played Genie in Broadway.
  • Chainsaw Good: Moxxie is introduced emerging from the leaves of a fallen tree while holding a chainsaw.
  • Comfort Food: Stolas' first on-screen appearance involves pouring a bowl of Lucky Charms knock-off cereal, which he does while alone and depressed in his empty mansion. He then sits down to watch his favorite Soap Within a Show.
  • Confirmation Bias: In-universe, Loona is introduced smiling at a gossip magazine where her idol, Verosika Mayday, claims that "Binge-drinking is sexy." As she reads it, Loona is knocking back a beer while still on the clock at work. While the Pilot established that Loona does this often anyway, the context makes it clear that she loves having her lifestyle endorsed by a celebrity she admires.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Fizzarolli mentions the events of "Loo Loo Land".
    • Loona's invitation from Tex to go out to hellhound parties gets picked up here, as she's out at a party with Tex when Blitzo gets home.
    • When Blitzo asks Stolas out over the phone, Stolas brushes aside his apple theme park shirt as seen in "Loo Loo Land."
    • Moxxie sings about wanting to be himself and not worry what others think during his serenade to Millie, which reflects his truth serum-induced epiphany from the previous episode.
    • During Blitzo's phone Photo Montage, a picture of him and Fizzarolli as teens shows them wearing a Mammon t-shirt and merchandise. Mammon (Embodiment of Greed) was the owner of Loo Loo Land, and where Blitzo and presumably Fizzarolli worked for before Blitzo left that life behind and Fizzarolli moved up in Hell.
  • Contrived Coincidence: While Moxxie choosing the place itself was unavoidable as this is a place Millie wanted to go to for a long time, Ozzie’s just happened to be run by the local ring’s ruler (which prevents Stolas from doing anything) and Fizzarolli while Verosika landed a night job there, effectively ruining Blitzo’s night.
  • Death by Irony: Implied, as Blitzo, Millie and Moxxie killed a group of lumberjacks with tools that one would normally use to cut trees (namely two axes and a chainsaw).
  • Decoy Protagonist: The episode seems at first to be about Moxxie and Millie's anniversary and how they're going to deal with Blitzo trying to intrude on their night. It soon becomes clear, however, that the episode is actually about Blitzo and Stolas and their relationship hitting a boiling point after Blitzo's past gets shoved back in his face.
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: Did Millie (a low-class imp) flatten the right hand and possible lover of Asmodeus (a ruler of a Ring of Hell) just so her husband could finish his serenade for her? Yes, yes she did.
    • Moxxie' song as a whole can be seen as this, as though he killed the mood of the club, he still championed his romantic love in front of the embodiment of Lust and got away with it.
  • Downer Ending: Blitzo gets back home after being humiliated at Ozzie's and having rejected an offer from Stolas to go inside with him. Loona's out at a party with Tex, Millie and Moxxie are still out on their anniversary date, and Blitzo looks at a Photo Montage of happier times on his phone. The last picture that Blitzo looks at— of himself as a child with who's implied to be his family— makes him curl up in a Troubled Fetal Position, crying Broken Tears into a pillow, all alone. Cue the end credits.
  • Dramatic Irony:
    • The audience learns early on in the episode that Stolas' feelings for Blitzo are sincerely romantic, and he's utterly desperate for any sign of reciprocation from the imp. But since Blitzo doesn't see Stolas pining for him behind closed doors — and since Stolas has never made him feel particularly loved or respected before — he believes the Prince of Hell's feelings for him are purely physical and transactional.
    • The audience knows before Blitzo even makes the call that he just needs a plus-one to get into OZZIE'S so he can stalk his employees Moxxie and Millie on their anniversary, and figured Stolas would leap at the chance. However, Blitzo was Right for the Wrong Reasons; he doesn't realize Stolas' feelings for him are more than physical. So the audience watches Stolas gush and sigh over the belief that he's finally being wined and dined by the imp that he clearly has a crush on, when Blitzo is just using Stolas as a means to an end.
  • The Dreaded: Asmodeus is the embodiment of one of the Seven Deadly Sins, specifically Lust, and is well within the top ten most powerful demons in hell. Stolas, a Goetia demon more powerful than Hazbin Hotel's Alastor, had shown hints of his true power in the previous episode, yet he is horrified upon discovering that the club he is visiting belongs to Asmodeus. Later on, Asmodeus sings a song humiliating him and Blitzo with Stolas being powerless to stop him. Asmodeus later orders Millie and Moxxie to leave his club, with Millie not offering any resistance despite earlier attacking Fizzarolli for sharing a duet with Asmodeus meant to humiliate Moxxie.
  • Entitled to Have You: Despite how Moxxie makes it very clear that Blitzo is not invited on their anniversary date, Blitzo still brings himself along anyways. He's only stopped at the front door by a bouncer because Ozzie's is a couples-only club.
  • Epic Fail: Blitzo tries to seduce the bouncer to get inside Ozzie's, either by getting in as a favor after some action or by getting him to be his plus one. This only results in Blitzo getting thrown into a dumpster.
  • Fantastic Racism: Imps being at the bottom of the social hierarchy is brought up in full force here. Asmodeus seems to approve of Stolas throwing his life away for sex but mocks him for choosing an Imp. Even Wally Wackford, an imp himself, is giddily incredulous that Stolas is sleeping with an imp.
  • Fatal Flaw: Like in "Loo Loo Land", Stolas' tendency to focus on what he wants while ignoring the feelings or preferences of those he cares about leads him to completely torpedo their quality time together. In Episode 2, Stolas dragged Octavia to Loo Loo Land because he wanted to spend some father-daughter bonding time with her, but completely failed to realize that she had outgrown the park (and always hated the Fizzarolli show, to boot). In this episode, he projects his own desire to have a romantic date with Blitzo, but fails to consider the imp's feelings or insecurities. This is especially pronounced by the end of the "House of Asmodeus" song, where Stolas tries to hold Blitzo's hand, but it's clear that Blitzo is too hurt from the public dressing-down by Fizzarolli and Verosika (and too untrusting of Stolas in general) to reciprocate.
  • Foil:
    • Being a Beta Couple, Moxxie and Millie's relationship contrasts those of other characters this episode.
      • Asmodeus and Fizzarolli are implied to have a loving relationship behind closed doors but pretend to only like primal lust in public. Meanwhile, Moxxie and Millie have a dynamite sex life in private and aren't afraid to be Sickeningly Sweethearts in public. Moxxie even lampshades this at the end of his serenade, claiming that they don't have to pretend to like things they don't just to impress others.
      • Moxxie and Millie are also open about their feelings to each other, which makes their relationship stable and able to endure public humiliation and mockery. Meanwhile, Stolas and Blitzo have trouble communicating their feelings to each other, which causes a lot of drama and heartache.
    • Asmodeus and Fizzarolli are also foils for Stolas and Blitzo. Both couples consist of low-class imps involved with nobility in a boss/subordinate relationship that's implied to have deeper feelings but...
      • Ozzie and Fizz operate in almost perfect sync with one another and clearly enjoy every moment they spend together, even as they go on at length about how ridiculous and sappy love is. When things go awry, Ozzie scoops Fizz up and cradles him, then cuddles him without any apparent care for who's watching. They end the episode on a high note, mutual in their dislike of Moxxie and Millie, in each other's arms and on the same page.
      • Stolas shamelessly flirts with Blitzo openly to the imp's chagrin, and both are buckling under the weight of emotional baggage and communication issues that have been festering for an entire season. When they're publicly humiliated at the club, neither makes a move to defend the other, and when Blitzo finally snaps and tells Stolas that the latter has never treated him like anything other than a sex toy, Stolas quietly lets him go rather than being open about his feelings. They both end the episode alone and miserable.
    • When Moxxie and Blitzo both get heckled by the establishment's proprietors, Millie and Stolas both rise from their seats in alarm at seeing their date in distress. However, when Millie sees an opening to defend her husband she seizes it (flattening Fizzarolli and giving Moxxie his guitar back), but when Stolas has the opportunity to defend Blitzo he instead hides his face behind a menu in shame.
  • Foreshadowing: When Fizzarolli is talking about the sex bots of him, his smile looks extremely forced when he says "that robo me (the one from Loo Loo Land) made us more money than the ones we sell to get you freaks off." Come Season 2, Episode 7 and it turns out that he's extremely uncomfortable about the dolls being made in his image.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus:
    • When Blitzo is stalking Moxxie and Millie on the train, the newspaper he hides behind has pictures of an Exorcist, and the Fizzarolli & Friends show and the Apple mascot from "Loo Loo Land".
    • When Moxxie and Millie are waiting to be let in at OZZIE'S, an aerial shot of the building's exterior show several members of Verosika's entourage waiting in line, including Josh and Ace (on a date together) a ways back, Coco and Apple (established girlfriends on a date together) standing directly behind Moxxie and Millie, and an imp couple (previously seen in "Loo Loo Land") standing directly in front of Moxie and Millie.
    • The Lust Ring outside of OZZIE'S is essentially one big Red Light District, and has tons of creative signs and business names to match. Some gems include "Sexy Wear" over "Hanky Panty" (with a neon sign shaped like panties), "Tongue Lounge" (for same-sex couples), "Fun House" (with neon signs of couples in several different positions), "Hubby Hotel" (for male couples), and "Chuckle Fucks".
    • By the dumpster where the bouncer throws Blitzo, a "Welcome to the Lust Ring" poster is plastered slightly over a poster advertising a Fizzarolli Sexbot, which is pinned slightly over a poster for Angel Dust.
    • While Blitzo searches for Moxxie and Millie's table, there is a quick look at the imp butler of the Goetia residence at one table, surrounded by horny demons, including two of Verosika's succubi. There is another table where a couple that previously showed up in "Loo Loo Land" has the male imp receiving fellatio from the female under their table. The last shown table, or better said tables, has one imp watching another couple getting it on, implying he's into voyeurism.
    • One eagle-eyed viewer on Youtube noticed that at the end of Asmodeus and Fizzarolli's mocking "I love you!"'s to Moxxie's song, they sneak a brief and sincere "I love you" to each other, followed by a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cheek rub, before they launch into their "House of Asmodeus" number.
    • Fizzarolli briefly pulls a hilarious facial expression while forced to support the full weight of Asmodeus overlaps with Funny Background Event below.
    • In the frame when Stolas is saying goodnight to Blitzo, the swirls on his staircase ladder seem to form the word "love".
    • At Blitzo's place, the walls are filled with pictures of himself with Moxxie, Millie and Loona. But he has noticeably scribbled over his own face in all of them.
    • Right before the Photo Montage, you can see the apps on Blitzo's phone, which is more clear here. There appear to be at least six apps correlating to Hell's rings and their rulers:
      • Lucimaster obviously refers to Lucifer, king of Pride and all of Hell.
      • Satan's Workouts obviously refers to Satan, ruler of Wrath.
      • Lustinder, the Tinder ripoff, has the visage of Asmodeus, who was introduced in the episode as lust incarnate.
      • Moneymakerz Bank has a jester motif, referencing Mammon, lord of Greed, who was shown to be a jester demon based off of the shots of Hell's currencies in Loo-Loo Land.
      • Bee Eats, the food order app, corresponds to Beelzebub, ruler of Gluttony
      • Envee, which appears to be Hell's TikTok, references the sin Envy, which implies it's connected to the Leviathan.
      • Sleepy Pillz is the least obvious, but it could be associated with Sloth, and therefore Belphegor.
  • Funny Background Event:
    • When Asmodeus is shaking his booty while singing, Fizzarolli is behind him making the money rain like if Ozzie is a striptease dancer.
    • Likewise, when Asmodeus makes a deep dip, Fizzarolli's eyes bug out and he struggles to lift the big guy up.
    • When Verosika is singing and lying across the table of two guests, the male whips out his phone to take pictures of the alluring Verosika in a sexy pose. His female date is clearly not amused. Likewise, Stolas can be seen looking at her with rather shocked but appreciating eyes when the camera focuses back to Blitzo.
    • Most viewers would be looking at Ozzie coming into the foreground to notice how Stolas attempted to escape the club once the spotlight was literally on him, and was only stopped thanks to Asmodeus catching his arm and forcing him back to his seat.
    • When Moxxie and Millie retake the mic and reaffirm their feelings for each other, Asmodeus and Fizzarolli share a quick cuddle while pretending to hate it. In the background, Verosika can be seen embracing her own love during the final verse of Moxxie's serenade... which is a glass of wine.
  • Gender Flip: Moxxie mentions in his song that he loves Millie more than "Beelze loves her Bub", so it seems Beelzebub is female in Vivzie's continuity.
  • Get Out!: Asmodeus says this to Millie and Moxxie after they keep kissing and carrying on in his club, since he's a demon of lust and he'd already set down the ground rules for the place... and also because Millie has just clocked Fizzarolli, whom he clearly adores, over the head.
Asmodeus: (with fake sincerity) Aww, ain't that just such a happy display? It sickens me! (suddenly getting a Voice of the Legion) Get the fuck out!
  • Grey Rain of Depression: The episode's downer ending is punctuated by a heavy rain falling outside.
  • Hand Behind Head: It's subtle and easy to miss, but Stolas nervously rubs his hand behind his head when he suggests he and Blitzo could "cuddle", showing that he's really making himself vulnerable by suggesting an explicitly romantic activity that doesn't involve sex.
  • Hates Being Alone: This episode explores how Blitzo often stalks Moxxie and Millie after work hours because he can't stand being alone with his thoughts. (It's similarly implied that he adopted Loona partly so he'd have someone to share his home with.) When his attempt to tag along at OZZIE'S ends in heartbreak and he comes home to find Loona away at a party, he has no choice but to reminiscence alone in the dark. He's finally driven to Broken Tears when he realizes just how alone he truly is.
  • He Cleans Up Nicely:
    • A phone picture of Blitzo and Verosika still happily dating reveals that Blitzo didn't look half-bad in a snazzy suit. His half-white face even provided a natural Phantom of the Opera flair for their classy date. It's just another sign of how far he's fallen.
    • Downplayed with Millie, who's always gorgeous but is more of an Unkempt Beauty. Still, we see on her anniversary date that she still looks incredibly gorgeous when she combs back her hair and wears an evening dress.
  • Heroic BSoD: Moxxie is noticeably in shock and unresponsive after Blitzo not only admitted invading his and Millie's intimate life, but also started talking about it in public. He only snaps out of it when Millie prompts him to finish his song as he intended.
  • Holding Hands: Stolas, seeing that Blitzo is deeply upset — and fresh off of Moxxie and Millie's display of love even in the face of mockery and ridicule by the rest of Hell — reaches for Blitzo's hand, but Blitzo flinches away and asks to leave.
  • Hope Spot: After Moxxie, Millie, Stolas, and Blitzo are all publicly humiliated by the owners and patrons of Ozzie's, Moxx and Mill are able to salvage his serenade by declaring that their love is stronger than any mockery. This leads Stolas to briefly hope that his and Blitzo's relationship could be the same... only for a dejected Blitzo to declare the whole night a mistake, and ask to leave.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen:
    • Invoked by Asmodeus in regards to Stolas, as he mentions Stolas falling for an Imp when he is a Demon Prince, and once had a beautiful wife and daughter. Asmodeus actually likes this because it means that Stolas gave up everything for the sake of his lust, something that Asmodeus finds admirable. Stolas is mortified, and can only hide his face behind a menu in reply.
    • How far Blitzo has fallen is highlighted by "The Villain Sucks" Song when compared with the photos on his phone. He used to be Childhood Friends with Fizzarolli, had a loving relationship with Tilla and Barbie Wire and, for a while, was happily dating Verosika. His phone is now mostly full of Moxxie and Millie, whom he had to stalk on their anniversary night. He doesn't feel respected by Stolas, Loona is off making friends, and he's alone in the dark.
  • Hypocritical Humor:
    • Blitzo stops Moxxie from making a "filthy pun" while he's around, as he usually does.
    • As noted in Funny Background Event, a female imp wearing blue is angry when her date starts taking pictures of Verosika doing sexy poses on their table in front of them. However, from the moment Verosika starts singing, the same female imp can be seen blushing and is completely taken by Verosika as well; it’s only when her date starts taking pictures of Verosika that she snaps out of it and loses her temper.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point:
    • While Asmodeus encourages lust over love, he's not wrong in how an upper class like Stolas is risking his reputation and losing the love and respect of his wife and daughter, while cheating on the former with the lower class Blitzo.
    • Likewise, while Asmodeus and Fizzarolli are secretly in a loving relationship and are enormous jerks about it, they aren't wrong that Moxxie is singing a gentle, sappy love song in a place that isn't for that.
Asmodeus: Who's singin' love songs in MY lustful lounge?
Fizzarolli: Ozzie's ain't the place for sentimental sounds!
Asmodeus: What'd you expect from a proprietor like us?
Fizzarolli: Your demon host: Asmodeus, the Embodiment of Luuust!
  • Insatiable Newlyweds: Turns out Moxxie and Millie were in their first year of marriage for the bulk of the series thus far, so they celebrate their first anniversary this episode.
  • Insecure Love Interest: This episode reveals that Stolas and Blitzo are both this in different ways, and it rips at the seams of their relationship:
  • Intercourse with You: Discussed. While not exactly an example itself, "House of Asmodeus" involves Fizzarolli and the titular Asmodeus trying to get Moxxie to sing a sexy song.
Come on, sing us a song.
Make sure the subject is gettin' it on.
Make it graphic and tantrically long...
Be sure to rhyme "thong" and "schlong".
    Go ahead, your mic's on.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Both Verosika and Fizzarolli savagely chew out Blitzo's relationship issues during the big musical number. It seems to genuinely get to Blitzo, because he spends the rest of the episode in a bad mood, as he can't really dispute what they said. Blitzo even looks at a Photo Montage that causes him to cry Broken Tears.
  • Jerkass to One: Verosika and Fizzarolli are both noticeably crueler to Blitzo than anyone else this episode, though in slightly different ways.
    • Cruel to One: Verosikia notably doesn't join Fizzarolli or Asmodeus in heckling Moxxie and Millie for the entire song. She only joins in when she sees that they're piling on Blitzo. However, as soon as the topic moves away from her ex, she backs out and can be seen quietly drinking in the background since she has no quarrel with Stolas or her ex's employees.
    • Crueler to One: While Fizzarolli heckles Moxxie for not choosing a more sex-appropriate song for their establishment, he mostly limits himself to supporting his boss/lover's song, and even subtly encourages Moxx to choose more sex-heavy words so they'll leave him alone. However, once Fizz sees Blitzo in the crowd, all bets are off and he goes right for the mean; clearly relishing hurting and humiliating Blitzo in public.
  • Just the Way You Are: Moxxie concludes in his serenade to Millie by declaring that he loves her and their relationship just the way they are, and that he'll support her no matter what. Stolas is touched and tries to silently convey the same to Blitzo — only for the latter to flinch away and ask to leave.
  • Lame Comeback: When Moxxie fails into being more explicit in his sexual love for his wife, Fizzarolli and Asmodeus start to mock and bully him on stage. Blitzo, trying to defend him, says he has watched the couple in their intimacy and they can make missionary look kinda exciting.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Blitzo refused to respect Moxxie and Millie's anniversary and it directly leads to him being humiliated with Moxxie and Millie even ignoring him during the process.
  • Lawyer-Friendly Cameo:
    • Throughout Ozzie's, there are posters of Angel Dust from "Hazbin Hotel" on the walls with Angel's face out of frame to avoid legal trouble.
    • On Blitzo's phone at the end of the episode, one of the apps he has is called "Voxflix", a reference to Netflix and the television Overlord Vox from "Hazbin Hotel".
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall:
    • The setup for this episode is Moxxie and Millie's one-year wedding anniversary. This episode was uploaded on October 31st, 2021: one year after the first episode was streamed.
    • When Blitzo asked him how much would take him to get to the Lust ring, Stolas says he'll "be ready in twenty". His dressing-up montage and arrival at Lust by portal takes exactly twenty seconds.
  • Loony Fan: The imp who said he owned four Robo Fizz is also dressed in Fizzarolli cosplay. Both him and his date are, actually. And it's enough for the real Fizzarolli to be unnerved at this.
  • Loophole Abuse: Blitzo is unable to enter Ozzie's because, even if he did reserve a spot earlier, it's exclusive to couples. He invites Stolas as a plus-one and is able to bypass the line, since Stolas is a demon prince.
  • Lousy Lovers Are Losers: During Verosika's solo in "House of Asmodeus" she sings about how she was a generous lover to Blitzo during their relationship, but he was selfish and never returned the favor. note
    Oh, Blitzo?
    I used to date him
I'd stroke and I'd fellate him
Yeah, but when it was my turn
    He did no reciprocatin'
A selfish imp in the sheets
And just as bad in the streets
    A reckless, heartbreaking freak
  • Love Cannot Overcome: In contrast to the strong bond between Moxxie and Millie being able to weather the verbal abuse they experience over their love, Stolas' strong feelings for Blitzo and his best efforts to be genuinely affectionate are not enough to overcome how much their public humiliation hurt Blitzo, nor the weight of their own baggage in and out of their relationship.
  • Lust: The circle of Hell where the episode takes place. The entire circle is one gigantic Red Light District. Asmodeus, Lord of Lust, makes it abundantly clear that gentle love songs have no place on his stage, and when Moxxie and Millie continue to defy this, they're eventually kicked out.
  • Moment of Weakness: When Asmodeus congratulates Stolas on throwing away his life "for a thrust" with Blitzo (an imp), a flustered Stolas hides his face behind a menu rather than argue or defend his date. This visibly wounds Blitzo, who asks to leave once the song is over and rejects Stolas after.
  • Multi-Part Episode: The episode is titled to be "Part One" of the show's season finale.
  • Musicalis Interruptus: Moxxie starts his song for Millie focusing on love, only for Fizzarolli and Asmodeus to hijack it and sing about lust, only for Millie to un-hijack it so Mox can finish.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Stolas's reaction to learning that Blitzo, who he's fallen head over heels for, believes Stolas views him as a toy and only wants to use Blitzo for sex. He quietly lets Blitzo go, then sits down on the steps of his empty home in tears.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Blitzo standing up for his employees got him noticed by Asmodeus and Fizzaroli. If he kept to himself, his night with Stolas might not have been torpedoed. (Downplayed in that Blitzo wouldn't have been there to stand up for said employees in the first place had he not literally stalked them there.)
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: When Fizz points out that the Robo Fizz in Loo Loo Land made more money there than the models bought for personal services, including sex, a random male imp from the club's audience admits to owning four of them. The clown is visibly disturbed by this.
Fizz: Okay, keep that guy far away from me.
  • Non-Answer: Played for Laughs. When Blitzo first calls Stolas and asks if he's busy that night, Stolas blinks at his discarded cereal (that he tripped over to answer the phone), then hedges by asking why Blitzo asked.
  • Noodle Incident: The episode begins with I.M.P coming back to the office from their latest job; apparently someone commissioned the death of a lot of lumberjacks.
  • Not So Above It All: Asmodeus and Fizzaroli claim to despise sappy romance, but it's clear that they have feelings towards each other and the two are seen tenderly embracing during the last parts of Moxxie's song.
  • Number of the Beast: The main elevator used for traversing the Circles of Hell is apparently the 666th elevator in the realm.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • The bouncer at Ozzie's has this when Stolas makes his presence known... after he orders Blitzø away again.
    • Both Blitzo and Stolas have this reaction when they realize two important things about Ozzie's; in Blitzo's case, the host is Fizzarolli and in Stolas's case, the club is owned by Asmodeus.
    • Moxxie and Millie go wide-eyed when Asmodeus reaches his Rage Breaking Point and yells at them to Get Out!.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • Stolas actually calls Blitzo by his preferred name and not "Blitzy" twice in the episode, first when he tries to initiate a more romantic tone to their date, and at the end when Blitzo refuses to come inside and chews him out. Both times show that Stolas is taking the situation with Blitzo very seriously.
    • While sitting in the driveway talking to Stolas, Blitzo drops his Sour Outside, Sad Inside persona and just levels with Stolas that Stolas has never given him reason to believe their relationship is anything but purely transactional. The whole time, he sounds close to tears, but fights them off. The background music is quite somber during this scene, as it leads right into the Downer Ending.
  • Out of Focus: Once again Loona only appears in the beginning of the episode with only a few cameos present afterwards.
  • Paid Harem: Stolas' imp butler can be seen for a few seconds surrounded by a group of females, including two succubi from Verosika's entourage, impliying that he contracted them to accompany him, and that suffering under the yoke of Stella is worth the paycheck.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Downplayed; although Asmodeus and Fizzaroli are huge jerks who heckle Moxxie for his love song and utterly humiliate Blitzo and Stolas, they do show some amount of sympathy for Moxxie.
      • After they call Moxxie out on singing a sentimental love song that doesn't fit the mood of their establishment, they tell him what kind of song they'd prefer he sing and give him a chance to do so rather than just humiliate him before kicking him off the stage.
      • After Millie knocks out Fizzarolli (Asmodeus' right hand and implied lover) so Moxxie can finish his song, despite Asmodeus and Fizzarolli sharing a gag over it, they allow the two to finish their loving song before telling them to Get Out!.
    • After Moxxie finishes his song, a few imps are shown to be clapping in approval.
  • Photo Montage: The episode ends with Blitzo sliding through various pictures on his phone of himself, one with Stolas, photobombing a date between Moxxie and Millie, Moxxie on what looks to be his first day at I.M.P, one of Blitzo and Verosika, a couple of Blitzo and Fizzarolli as children and teenagers. And then he comes across one with Tilla and Barbie Wire before he curls up into Broken Tears. It is also noted that the pictures were actually cropped at the bottom to make them fit into Blitzo's phone. Link to the full originals and the official artist here.
  • Poor Communication Kills: This episode confirms that Stolas does have sincere romantic feelings for Blitzo. Unfortunately Stolas also Cannot Spit It Out because he's terrified of having his feelings rejected, and thus he leans more heavily into the physical aspect of their relationship, which leaves Blitzo under the impression that he's little more than Stolas's personal hooker. Stolas doesn't correct him when he states this, but when Blitzo drives off, he's clearly devastated at how wrong it's all gone.
  • The Power of Love: Moxxie and Millie are able to bounce back from public mockery (and even touch the hearts of their audience) due to their love for each other.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • Verosika and Fizzarolli both dress down Blitzo after he makes his presence known in the "House of Asmodeus" song. Fizzarolli calls Blitzo a loser who pushes people away, while Verosika recounts that he was a terrible lover. This seems to really get to Blitzo, as he can't really dispute what they said, causing Blitzo to spend the rest of the episode in a bad mood.
    • Blitzo gives one to Stolas after they leave Ozzie’s, showing that Blitzo sees their relationship as purely transactional and nothing else. The fact that Stolas Cannot Spit It Out also gives the speech some Dramatic Irony, since the audience knows that Stolas wants there to be something more between the two of them, but Blitzo certainly doesn't.
Blitzo: Stolas, don’t act like what we have is anything but you wanting me to fuck you, okay? You make that really clear all the time.
  • Reformed, but Rejected: Downplayed. While Stolas shows Blitzo some long-overdue respect and affection following their date, it's too little, too late for Blitzo, who's only ever felt demeaned and objectified by Stolas. When Stolas gently wishes him a good night and calls him by his preferred name of "Blitz", Blitzo only gives a curt "night" and speeds off, which visibly startles Stolas.
  • Rule of Symbolism: In-universe, Stolas sees this of Moxxie's serenade of Millie. Moxxie starts off singing his romantic feelings for his wife at the club where Blitzo finally seemed to ask him out on a date. When the song is derailed by the club owners and audience mocking Moxxie and Millie for being Sickeningly Sweethearts, and then publicly humiliate Blitzo and Stolas, it seems their relationship is doomed to end in failure, just like their previous relationships. Then Moxxie and Millie are able to retake the mic and reassert their love being stronger than any public mockery. This convinces Stolas that his and Blitzo's relationship might endure too... only for a dejected Blitzo to ask to leave.
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Fizzarolli provides trumpet sounds for Asmodeus, but his last instance he instead says "Trumpet, brah!"
  • Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Stolas has always emphasized the physical aspect of his and Blitzo's relationship and for whatever reason, just can't seem to bring himself to say he would like more. This just causes Blitzo to think their relationship is purely transactional, and to reject Stolas when he invites him for a romantic night in.
  • Sex Sells: Inverted. Fizzarolli reveals that the Loo Loo Land robot made more money by entertaining kids than all their adult models used as Sexbots combined.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: After Asmodeus and Fizzarolli spend an entire song mocking and humiliating her husband and boss, during the final verse of "House of Asmodeus", Millie silences them by swiftly flattening Fizzarolli to give the mic back to her husband so he can finish his serenade. This also doubles as her refusing to let them have the last word on the subject.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: Moxxie and Millie really pile on the gushy and cuddly love this episode, which causes numerous other demons to feel icky at the intensity, starting with Blitzo asking them to not do so in front of him, and ending with Asmodeus outright stating that he's sickened by their public display of affection before yelling at them to Get Out!.
  • Soap Within a Show: While bored and depressed at home, Stolas watches a soap opera called "Hell-a-Novela" starring demons.
  • Something Else Also Rises: Millie drawing circles very closely to his groin and purring sensually while offering to "go home and clean all this blood off" makes Moxxie's tail and body to go stiff before melting as she drags him away.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: This episode brings this aspect of Blitzo's character to the forefront. His clingy behavior and tendency to push people away is played for drama when the musical number starts insulting him. Stolas doesn't make things much better, as Blitzo drops his guard to just level with Stolas that he sees their relationship as purely transactional. When he's all alone at home, reminiscing with a Photo Montage, he ends up crying Broken Tears when he realizes how alone he is.
  • Speed Sex: Played for Drama. If Verosika is to be believed during her solo in "House of Asmodeus", she was generous to Blitzo in bed but he rarely, if ever, returned the favor. She implies this is one of many reasons she now hates his guts.
Verosika: A selfish imp in the sheets, and just as bad in the streets.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: When Blitzo calls Stolas to invite him to OZZIE's in the Lust Ring (so he can tag along to Moxxie and Millie's date), an enamored Stolas asks if Blitzo is asking him on a date? Blitzo reluctantly agrees that this is technically what's happening, if only to placate Stolas into accepting.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone:
    • Stolas' Imp butler, who's usually abused by Stella in some way when he's on-screen, is shown surrounded by admirers in Ozzie's.
    • After getting humiliated by Asmodeus and Fizzarolli for their wholesome relationship, Moxxie and Millie end up finishing the song that Moxxie started, and when they finish, at least some of the audience clap for them.
  • Trying Not to Cry: While talking to Stolas in his driveway, Blitzo is holding back tears. His voice cracks a few times, and he wipes away a few tears from his own face to that Stolas doesn't see them. By the time he reminisces on his phone with a Photo Montage, Blitzo just can't take it anymore, crying Broken Tears into a pillow on his couch.
  • Villain of the Week: Fizzaroli and Verosika both return from episodes 2 and 3 respectively. Although it’s downplayed because the former is the real deal instead of a robot commodity, and the latter’s role is smaller here than in her debut. Played more straight with Asmodeus, although he may secretly admire Millie and Moxxie’s wholesome relationship.
  • Villain Song: "House of Asmodeus" is one for not only Asmodeus himself, but also Verosika and Fizzarolli.
  • Unholy Matrimony: Asmodeus and Fizzarolli are massive jerks who enjoy mocking and humiliating guests they don't like, but they're clearly in a loving relationship, on the same page, and enjoy spending time together.
  • Unmoving Plaid: Stolas' cape has a rather interesting example, where the inside of it is a star-scape pattern that is actually a slowly moving video of space, so when Stolas is moving it looks like normal static Unmoving Plaid, but when Stolas is standing still it continues moving.
  • Visit by Divorced Dad: Implied. Stolas reveals that Octavia is with Stella for the weekend, leaving the mansion to himself. With him being depressed at the start of the episode, this may hint that they have recently divorced, or at least have separated and possibly entered the process of divorcing. Asmodeus mentions in his song how Stolas "had it all", including his wife and daughter, only to throw it away to get with Blitzo.
  • Visual Innuendo: As Asmodeus and Fizz come to the, ahem, climax of their section of The House of Asmodedus, 'devices' lining the stage spay out streams of silvery sparkles. Said 'devices' are extremely phallic.
  • Visual Pun: When Stolas arrives to his "date" with Blitzo in a fancy get-up, a literal spot-light appears over Blitzo. Rule of Funny aside, it symbolizes Stolas putting Blitzo on the spot by appearing all dressed up, making Blitzo feel obligated to say something nice about his outfit, and falling short since their relationship up to this point has been purely transactional.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Wife, but it still counts. After having enough of Fizzarolli and Asmodeus heckling Moxxie for his love song, Mille ends up kicking Fizzarolli into unconsciousness to allow Moxxie to finish.
  • We Used to Be Friends: A couple of photos on Blitzo's phone reveal he and Fizzarolli were Childhood Friends. It's pretty clear that bridge burnt a long time ago.
  • Wham Shot: The final image on Blitzo's phone is a photo of him when he was much younger, along with his twin sister and his mother. This is enough for him to finally break down in tears.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: The last we see of Moxxie and Millie is Asmodeus kicking them out of the club and the focus is solely on Blitzo and Stolas for the rest of the episode. Granted, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to assume they took their romantic night home to the bedroom.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Moxxie is revolted when Blitzo reveals he has spied on his and Millie’s sex life numerous times and has enjoyed it, and holds on a horrified look of shock for a good minute. Millie also looks shocked to hear this, and notably neither one tries to come to Blitzo’s defense when he starts suffering a public dressing-down.
  • Wingding Eyes: When Blitzo asks Stolas out, the prince's eyes turn to hearts.
  • Your Approval Fills Me with Shame: While Asmodeus makes fun of Stolas for falling for a lowly imp, he greatly approves of the fact Stolas ruined his life for "a thrust", as that is the kind of lust he likes. Stolas is mortified and can only hide his face in reply.
  • You Are Worth Hell:
    • Moxxie basically ends his serenade to Millie declaring that he'll stand by her no matter what, even if their wholesome lovie-dovie lifestyle is mocked and rejected by the rest of Hell.
    • Despite the absolutely mortifying public humiliation they just endured, after Moxxie and Millie are able to retake the mic and end their serenade on a high note, Stolas tries to silently convey to Blitzo that he still cares about him and wants to be with him, regardless of the awful things the proprietors had said about them and their relationship. However, Blitzo is too scarred by the experience and asks to leave.
  • You Called Me "X"; It Must Be Serious: After Blitzo rejects Stolas inviting him for a romantic night in on the basis that Stolas has only ever treated him like a plaything, Stolas accepts his rejection with grace, wishes him good night, and somberly calls him by his preferred name of "Blitz".

Aw... ain't that just such a happy display? It sickens me! Get the fuck out.

Blitzo's Photos

A rare sad example. The episode OZZIE'S ends with Blitzo in his room, looking at photos of his past, eventually seeing one of him & his family and breaking down.

How well does it match the trope?
