• Abandon the Disabled: In Because I was visually impaired,My mother said "You're a child I don't want." [sic], Sae is abandoned by her mother for becoming blind, after she caused the accident that turned Sae blind in the first place.
• Accidental Kidnapping:
  • Miki attempts to coerce money out of her brother Kota by kidnapping his future wife Yuko in the middle of the wedding. However, when he and Baccarat come to her rescue, it turned out the "bride" wasn't Yuko, but Baccarat's girlfriend Erica, who is the daughter of the president of Soprano Corporation. Kota then throws her to Baccarat, who makes Miki work as a hostess as punishment.
  • Rina kidnapped Ram and Kairi's daughter Sara mistakenly thinking it was Ray, Alto and Kanade's child. When she carries out her plan of giving her milk to trigger Ray's allergy and spite Kanade, turns out that Kanade had Ray next to her all this time, and Sara told her that Ray is a boy. The families of both kids find out and Rina ends up in prison for attempted murder.
• Adopting the Abused: In "Parents Doted On My Model Sister And Called Me Fat → 3 Years Later I Became A Model And…": After Kae caught her favorite daughter, Kohime, giving Ram a piece of her cake with no strings attached, she disowns Ram and leaves her with Kanade and Alto despite Kohime's pleas. However, the couple soon adopted Ram and were better parents towards her than Kae was.
• Adoption Diss: In My sister, who takes all my things, brags that shestole my boyfriend. But she was mistaken.. [sic], Baccarat and Karin start to mistreat their adopted daughter Kanade after her younger sister Milano was born, spoiling the latter while keeping the former as a slave.
• Aerith and Bob: While there are traditional Japanese names like Kanade, Karin, and Kairi, there's also unusual names like Alto, Ram, Baccarat, and Casino. Erica/Erika is both a Japanese and Western name, while Narita, Takeuchi, and Teruyama are surnames.
• Affair? Blame the Bastard: In "My parents left me on a deserted island, and ten years later I became a yakuza," Ram's parents seemed to love her. But that came to a sudden halt with the birth of her younger sister, Momo, whom they spoiled rotten. When Ram asked why, their mom revealed she had a one-night stand, and thus Ram was born. Furthermore, the couple spoiled Momo rotten because she was their legitimate daughter.
• Age Lift: The characters' ages vary wildly from child to adult depending on what role they are playing.
• Alpha Bitch: Erica, in most of the stories featuring her as Kanade's rival.
• Annoying Younger Sibling: Ran always teased her older sister Haru for having small breasts, even going as far as wearing revealing clothing to Haru's wedding and flaunting her assets while flirting with all the men in there to ruin her wedding.
• Apathetic Teacher: Morita-sensei is a lazy teacher whom Onpu found secretly played games in class instead of actually teaching the kids in her classroom. Moreover, she acted the part of a Stern Teacher to gain their parents' trust and therefore make herself untouchable. However, Onpu exposes her by playing the same game and fighting her in an online match.
• Art Shift: The episode "My parents left me on a deserted island, and ten years later I became a yakuza" cuts to a frame where Ram's abusive parents and spoiled sister Momo are drawn in Nobuyuki Fukumoto's style after her husband Kairi was through with them.
• Arranged Marriage:
  • In If the bride gets into a bathing suit, will the groom pledge his love [sic], when Kairi stays adamant in his decision to marry Ram despite her attending the wedding wearing only a swimsuit, his parents tell him they already prepared a fiancee for him, who is from another rich family.
  • In the episode My sister plundered my fiancé! Now my arranged marriage partner is also plundered [sic], Ram and Nonoka's parents try to arrange a marriage between the former and the businessman Ikki-san. This is subverted when they find him with Nonoka, who demands to marry him instead of Ram. Their parents cave in and let her have him, to which Ram thanks her.
• Aroused by Idiocy: Yui and Mai attempt to exploit this trope by pretending to be airheaded in order to be popular with guys, only to end up being rejected for being fake and unpleasant. Meanwhile, Kanade, a natural airhead, ends up winning the affections of the guys without trying to because they find her antics amusing.
• Attempted Homewrecker:
  • "Pretentious coworker with 6 boyfriends flirts with my fiancé.But it will be exposed ..." [sic]: At the company's hot springs trip, Moka Kiyoi attempts to seduce Chief Kairi. His fiancée, Ram, is unable to do anything because he told her to keep the engagement a secret and would end up blowing their own cover if she intervened. However, Kairi sees right through Moka's tricks and proves wrong her claims of never being in a relationship by exposing her affairs with six male coworkers. All six of them turn on Moka after realizing her true colors.
  • "A misunderstood woman who pretends to be a lover when she is not even in a relationship": When Chief Alto shows up to inspect the work branch Kanade worked at, Misato attempted to seduce him, but Alto chews her out and tells her to resign. When she disses Kanade's appearance while playing her advances as a joke, Alto reprimands her even harder and reveals Kanade is his fiancée. Eventually, Misato resigns after being cast aside by the entire company, and the groundwork laid by Alto in response reduced her to work at a local snack bar.
• Attempted Rape: In A Delinquent Group Ambushed Me and My Love On The Beach But I Am The Strongest Student. [sic], a group of delinquents take Kanade away to a dark place at the beach. Thankfully, Alto shows up before the leader could have his way with her and scares them all off.
• Attention Whore: In On my wedding day, everyone was surprised by my sister's attire... Erica wore a white dress at Kanade's wedding in an attempt to overshadow her. This earns her the guests' ire and the scolding of their parents, but she shrugs them off until her fiancé Casino dumped her for such a faux pas.

• Baby Morph Episode: Most stories featuring Shotae are expected to be this.
  • What If The People You Love Suddenly Turned Into an Infant and Became More Adorable? [sic]: Shotae shows up out of nowhere and sprays infantilization medicine on Alto, turning him into a toddler. Thankfully, Kanade dispatched her and took Alto to her place to take care of him for the time being.
  • I met a magician.And the age of a boy in my class dropped.... [sic]: Shotae struck again, turning Kairi into a baby by waving her magic wand and spraying infantilization medicine on him.
• Backstabbing the Alpha Bitch:
  • "I was forced to enter the contest, but my brother, a former yakuza, helped me out": After Kanade's School Swimsuit outshines Maria's at the swimsuit contest, Maria and her Girl Posse chew her out for it only for Kanade's Yakuza brother, Kairi, to show up right when she admitted to destroying Kanade's bikini. As a result, Maria's posse sells her out to Kairi and pins the blame entirely on her to save their own skins.
  • "I was forced to participate in a swimsuit contest as a foil →My brother gave me a cute swimsuit...": Kanade outshines Erica at the beach's swimsuit contest and Ram calls her out for being stuck-up. Teruyama and Karin, her minions, abandon her because Kanade has connections with the famous model Ram, but she also calls both girls out for trying to leech off of Kanade.
• Bad Boss: Kawashima-san bullied the assistant nurse, Miyo, for being a high school graduate. Moreover, she abuses her authority as a senior to lie about the gathering to make Miyo late for the reunions and force her workload on her. However, Kawashima-san went too far by stomping on Miyo's cellphone charm given to her by famous YouTuber Haru-chan]].
• Bad Review Threat: Lisa writes a zero-star review and voices a phone complaint for the bento shop Kanade works at, even referring to her as "that staff with purple hair" to get her fired. However, she finds out the reviews ended up targeting her purple-haired mother-in-law instead when Kanade revealed it wasn't the bento shop she worked at.
• Bait-and-Switch: In this story, Alto came home drunk to his fiancée Kanade after hanging out with her sister, Asako. Later on, he calls Asako on his wedding day because she wasn't present. Judging by the context, he seems to have dumped Kanade and picked Asako instead. When she picks up and reveals she never loved him, Alto is surprised until she heard Kanade's voice; it turns out he never dumped Kanade; she knew about Asako's attempt to steal her fiancé.
• Beach Episode:
  • 'I Saved A Girl Wearing Swimwear At Sea But A Woman Came To Me and Said "You Should Stay Away"': Kairi is a lifeguard at a beach and saved Erica from drowning, but her older sister Ram mistook ketchup for a knife and defended Erica from him believing him to be a dangerous man. Fortunately, Erica convinced Ram that he saved her and she apologized.
  • "A woman is invited to the beach to complement her friends and is dropped into the ocean...": Kanade was invited by Karin and Erica to a barbecue at the beach to serve as a foil to the latter when pursuing guys. However, a jealous Erica pushed Kanade into the ocean in a scheme to hook up with Alto, and as payback for letting a hot guy "go". But after Alto saved her, he called Erica out for her stunt as he caught her in the act, and because it turns out Kanade is his childhood friend.
  • "Self-Proclaimed Naive Girl Forgets Swimsuit → So The Real Naive Girl Dove Under The Sea And…": Narita suggests a trip to the beach as a means to get Kaori off his back, inviting Kanade, Alto, and Casino as well. When they arrived, she showed up naked under the excuse she forgot her swimsuit as a last resort to get the guys' (especially Narita's) attention. However, it backfired when Kanade offered her seaweed to cover herself, causing her to blow up at everyone before running off and coming back to the beach with her clothes on. Eventually, both girls become friends.
  • "What Happens When A Fake Naive Girl And A Real Naive Girl Get Stuck For 24 Hours In The Pool": Kaori strikes again by wearing a fancy bikini to the pool to attract Narita's attention and manipulates the whole gang to accomplish it. First, she told Kanade and Casino to leave early and wait outside while agreeing to meet in 30 minutes, which was the pool's closing time, leaving Kanade and Casino locked out while she had Alto and Narita all to herself, but her plan was foiled when Kanade returned; Kaori forgot to tell her to wait outside the pool entrance.
  • "The embarrassing lies of a false and proud woman are exposed at the night pool" starts with Haru and her college friend Nana in the pool at night, with the former annoyed by the latter's habit of stepping back whenever they do selfies together as well as her stuck-up behavior. Moreover, Haru went to the pool to practice her swimming while Nana only went there to attract guys and refused to even dip into the pool under the excuse it'll ruin her hair and makeup. Later on, it turns out she wore breast padding after falling to the water along with Haru and Narita after the playboy from earlier barreled into them.
• Beautiful All Along: In High school girls who fool around with makeup look down on beautiful women with no makeup, Mina shoves Kanade into the pool because Alto dumped the former in favor of the latter. When Kanade emerges from the pool, she's revealed to be pretty.
• Beauty Breeds Laziness: Erica in both of these episodes is a young, beautiful woman seduces her male coworkers into doing her work for her, unlike the plain-looking, but diligent protagonists. While Erica's looks make it easy for her to slack off on her work, it also prevents her from rising in the company, as she is incapable of doing the simplest of tasks even despite working the same job for years. Years later, despite Erica losing her looks to age, she still tries to act cutesy to manipulate men, which no longer works due to her male coworkers no longer being attracted to her; In addition, unlike Kanade and Ran, who were able to find love, Erica was never able to find a husband as all she had going for her were her looks, and in middle age she doesn't even have that going for her.
• Beauty Contest: More often than not, these involve the antagonist forcing Kanade into a swimsuit contest to make her serve as her foil. However, Kanade will outshine her after receiving a pep talk from Alto.
  • "I was forced to participate in a swimsuit contest as a foil →My brother gave me a cute swimsuit...": Erica forces Kanade into a swimsuit contest to embarrass her and have Alto all to herself. However, when Kanade takes off her hoodie, she outshines Erica thanks to her older brother Baccarat buying Ram's premium swimsuit for her with all his money.
  • "I was tricked by a gal at work into entering a swimsuit contest at the beach on company trip": Miki forces Kanade into one set at the beach she and the whole office headed to. Much to the former's chagrin, the latter outshined her and won the contest.
  • "I was forced to enter the contest, but my brother, a former yakuza, helped me out": Maria forces Kanade into a swimsuit contest when Kanade objected to her accusations of being fat.
  • "A woman who is not confident in her figure participates in a contest! How is the result……": Ram's sisters-in-law force her into a yukata contest held at the hot spring to humiliate her and make her serve as a foil to the three of them. However, she ends up overshadowing the three of them and winning the contest by wearing a pretty yukata with emphasis on her cleavage.
• Beauty Equals Goodness: Most stories feature female antagonists who are either overweight, have facial features seen as ugly, or both, to contrast them to the conventionally attractive protagonist. If the antagonist is conventionally attractive, she might be revealed to have an ugly face at the end.
• Bedroom Adultery Scene:
  • "My twin sister, whom I had insulated, pretended to be me and did evil things.": Ram caught her first husband sleeping with her twin sister, Rui, with the latter showing no remorse. The former divorces him and has no contact with the latter for four years.
  • "My sister contacted me and reported that she and my fiancée went to the pool together.": Ram caught her younger sister, Hideko, sleeping with her first husband while she was pregnant with their daughter, Wakana, which led to the couple's divorce and Ram suing Hideko for alimony.
  • "When I bought new underwear, my mother-in-law suspected me of cheating on her" [sic]: Shiho caught her daughter-in-law, Kanade, buying lingerie and accused her of cheating on Alto. When he prepares to go on a business trip, Shiho warns him about Kanade, implying he would catch Kanade cheating on him in the bedroom after returning.
• Beg the Dog:
  • "My sister, who takes all my things, brags that shestole my boyfriend. But she was mistaken.." [sic]: After Milano failed to steal Kanade's future husband and the scandal caused by her and her parents at the hotel Kanade worked at, they show up and beg her for money to pay their debts. Understandably, Kanade is having none of it and tells them off.
  • "My parents left me on a deserted island, and ten years later I became a yakuza": After finding out that Ram became a Yakuza's wife, her former parents beg her to let them go after they pay Momo's bill at the restaurant she and her husband Kairi owned. However, Ram has none of it and lets Kairi take care of them.
  • "My sister plundered my fiancé! Now my arranged marriage partner is also plundered": Nonoka loved to steal things from her older sister, Ram, to spite her and went as far as hijacking her arranged marriage to Ikki-san. However, she later comes begging Ram for help because the man she stole was a chauvinistic sleazebag who tormented her to the point it degraded her cute appearance. However, Ram constantly reminds Nonoka that it was her fault she got into this mess before coldly sending her home.
  • "The day before her wedding, her pregnant sister took her fiancé from her": Masashi begs Ram, whom he treated like crap and replaced with her sister Yuri as a fiancée when he deemed her useless, to take him back because his Gold Digger of a wife overspent so much she busted his fraud scheme, causing him to go on the run from the police. Thankfully, Ram has none of his hogwash and calls the cops on him.
  • I got a call from a stingy mom friend in the middle of a wedding: Days after her marriage with Alto, Kanade receives a call from Asako begging her for help because her own husband Morita was a cheater and a gambling addict, forcing her to provide for him. However, Kanade hung up on her for all the trouble she caused in her attempt to steal Alto from her.
• "Begone" Bribe: In My sister plundered my fiancé! Now my arranged marriage partner is also plundered, Nonoka tells Ram that even if she brought a lawyer, Ikki-san would bribe them into leaving in this exchange (errors in original):
  Ram: Even if won't help, the law would help you?
  Nonoka: It won't! I went to the lawyer once too but Ikki paid them loads of cash and made it go away.
• Beta Couple: Two of them: Ram and Kairi, Haru and Narita. More than two with Takeuchi and Teruyama, and the couples formed between Karin, Baccarat, Erica, and Casino whenever they aren't featured as the antagonists.
• Betty and Veronica: Romance stories are bound to use this dynamic between the FMC and her romantic rival. The former is cast as the "plain" yet kindhearted Betty, while the latter is the vain, flirty Veronica. Moreover, the antagonist will go out of her way to have the Archie-esque Love Interest all to herself. In the end, the man won't fall for her attempts at seduction and will always pick the Betty no matter what.
• Big Ball of Violence: In this story, a cloud of dust covered up the fistfight between Haru and Rie after their first encounter in years.
• Big Beautiful Woman: The episode My sister called me fat, disrespected me, and stole my fiancé features Kanade of all people as this.
• Big Brother Instinct: Kairi shows a violent version of this whenever he feels his younger sister Kanade was bullied, as he was a former Yakuza.
• Big Eater:
  • Bride holds her wedding outdoors in the winter→The groom and all present were outraged...: Haru always dreams and talks about food.
  • The episode My sister called me fat, disrespected me, and stole my fiancé features an overweight Kanade who likes to eat high-calorie foods.
• Big "NO!": Satoyuki lets one out when his daughter Haru tells him that she doesn't miss him.
• Bitch in Sheep's Clothing:
  • Mariko may seem like a nice drama club leader. In reality, she is a rude Jerkass who constantly shoots down Akari's dream to be on the stage and be a playwright. After she humiliated Akari after seemingly giving her a chance to do her own play, Erica exposed her real personality when she uploaded a video of her dissing a fan when he left.
  • Mayu dated a guy named Hiro, of which Kairi told Ram he was a shady guy. Turns out Hiro only dated Mayu to make her work in a cabaret, of which Ram and Kairi exposed.
  • Mari seemed to be Ram's only friend while dealing with bullies because of her plain appearance and shy nature. While she rightly deduces Mari is the one who bullied her the most, she tried to justify it to herself as she was born into a wealthy family. Years later, she invites Ram to her wedding and reveals her true colors to Ram by making her play the piano at the wedding to humiliate her for talking with heartthrob Kairi.
  • Teruyama's mother seemed to be caring towards her, even defending her from Baccarat and Erica at the beginning. However, the couple followed the woman and found out her true intentions; she planned to have Teruyama slave away working after graduating high school, and to this effect, she fattened Teruyama under the guise of reassuring her after being bullied.
• Big Sister Bully:
  • This is to be expected when Kanade is the little sister.
    • "I was left at the airport by my sister - When I was in trouble, a handsome sergeant...": Ayane bullied her younger sister Kanade for years. The latter, in usual Kanade fashion, takes the abuse until the former drenches her in black ink right before going to the trip, leaving her alone at the airport until she is taken in by the siblings Alto and Haru.
    • "My sister call me wedding now with my fiance → But I'm having a wedding abroad at that time ...! ??" [sic]: Erica mistreated her younger sister Kanade since childhood and get her parents to side with her, eventually getting Kanade kicked out of the house at some point by making her look bad.
  • "My sister claims she stole my husband but...I'm hanging out in the pool with him & the kids": Lemon made fun of and bullied her younger sister Karin since elementary, which escalated to stealing the latter's first boyfriend out of spite. Moreover, she developed a grudge against Karin for getting married before her and stole her husband while she was pregnant with her younger son Shinsuke.
• Biting the Handkerchief:
  • "A woman who is incompetent, but who continued to be coveted for her beauty→When she turned 40": A 40-year-old Erica bites on a Puni handkerchief when her potential suitors fled because they were half her age. Moreover, she also did this whenever a partner who is actually her age came on to her.
  • "My Sister Robbed My Fiancee! However, the person who looted it was…": Burimi does this at the start of the story when her sister Kanade announced she was getting married soon.
  • "I work in a lunch box shop and my mom's friends are harassing me...": Lisa does this when Kanade walked off with her daughter Onpu after picking her up from elementary, whining about how Kanade is happier than her despite the latter being poor.
• "Blind Idiot" Translation: Most, if not all of the stories have mistranslated dialogue.
• Brick Joke:
  • "My twin sister, whom I had insulated, pretended to be me and did evil things.", when Rui asks little Haru about what her Ram's precious thing is, her first answer is a Puni pillow. Later when Rui calls Ram from the beach to gloat about having stolen "her precious", Ram asks if she stole said pillow, which irritates Rui into revealing she stole her fiancé.
  • "My sister took my husband away from me when I was pregnant →years later she was punished": Yuri taunts Ram with a TV news report about a marriage scammer the latter's son Kota watched. Later on, when she gloats to Ram about stealing Kairi, Kota reveals it wasn't Kairi, but the aforementioned marriage scammer.
• Bridezilla: Kiyomi made unreasonable demands for her wedding day, for which the planner Ram requested Haru's help. Even then, Kiyomi wasn't satisfied and demanded Ram replace all decorations she didn't like despite being on a schedule.
• Bullying the Disabled: Misuzu and her Girl Posse had a wheelchair-user Kanade plan their graduation trip for them, finally deciding on Disneyland. When the day comes, the bullies take the train early, leaving Kanade and Haru behind to spite the former. Luckily, she arranged another trip with Haru to "Disney Sea" [sic].
• But Liquor Is Quicker: Asako gets Alto blackout drunk at the barbecue place they went to brainwash him into dumping Kanade.
• Butter Face:
  • "I was forcibly taken to the pool by a woman with a great figure.But she was ugly face, so ..." [sic]: Maki has a great body and cute eyes but wears a mask to hide her manly, ugly face from the eyes down.
  • "A woman with a great style but not a great face tried to stand out at a wedding": Mayu is a friend of Ram's from school and is quite confident in her attractive body. However, she has a long chin that makes her face look masculine.
  • "A misunderstood woman who pretends to be a lover when she is not even in a relationship": Misato has a nice body, but her face is full of wrinkles. She tries to act cute around her male coworkers, but they are grossed out.
  • "The tragedy of a misunderstood woman who can't stop boasting about her beautiful hair,": Sarah has an attractive body and luscious hair, charming any man who looked at her from behind until she turned to face them, which scared them off because her face looked, in Haru's words, "like a Noh mask."
  • "The result of a junior who pretended to be drunk at a company drinking party clung to a man…": Minami has an attractive body and will take every opportunity to brag about it while comparing her senior coworker Kanade to herself. However, once she takes off her mask to seduce Alto, it's revealed her face is unattractive from the nose down.
  • "When a beautiful woman with outstanding style takes off her mask for a meal…": Ruri has an attractive body and likes to flaunt it while mocking her friend Haru for her "toddler-like" body. However, when she takes off her mask, it reveals a grotesque overbite that drives guys away in disgust.
  • "When a woman who boasts of style takes off her mask, the shock develops": Saki has an attractive body and misunderstands boys whenever they help her, acting as if they fell in love with her. When they went to the pool, she bragged about how beautiful she was and sought to have Narita as her boyfriend while mocking Haru's underdeveloped body. However, once her mask slipped off on the waterslide, it exposed her ugly face.
  • "Teacher Brags About Her Nice Body → But When A New Teacher Tells Her Something Shocking…": Coach Miyu always wore a cap and goggles in swimming class while flaunting her attractive body, acting sweet around the male students and picking on female students' appearances whenever the latter group complained about her unprofessional behavior. However, when her cap and goggles come off after she fell into the pool, her ugly face is revealed and the boys who previously fawned over her become repulsed by her face.

• The Casanova: Shota from "I was pretended to be dead by my family, and I took revenge" is a playboy who fell in love with Haru and constantly flirted with her despite being turned down so many times. However, her spoiled sister Kiyomi had a crush on him and mistook his pestering tendencies as Haru stealing him from her. Therefore, she framed Haru for stealing their mother's money to get her kicked out of the house and succeeded.
• Chekhov's Gunman: In "The embarrassing lies of a false and proud woman are exposed at the night pool," Narita sends a playboy off after famous actress Puniko Puniyama. He returns after catching on to Narita's trick. and ends up shoving not only him but Haru and Nana, into the pool, exposing the latter's use of breast padding.
• Child Prodigy: Haru is a genius girl who invented an app that is used by the Soprano company. She humiliated Casino by solving a math problem that he couldn't. He tried to get Haru and her mother ejected from a restaurant. In response, Haru cut off the contract with the Soprano company, which his father Baccarat runs.
• Childhood Friends: In "Teacher brags about her experience abroad→what happens when her student knows better English," Erica and Baccarat were friends since daycare before moving to America.
• Clothing Damage:
  • Erica purposefully does this to Kanade's swimsuit by having Karin cut a part of it so she'll end up completely naked upon entering the pool.
  • Maria cut the swimsuit given to Kanade by her older brother Kairi to make sure she doesn't compete. However, Kanade finds out Kairi put a school swimsuit in her bag.
• Comical Overreacting: In this story, Yuka's behavior causes Haru to rap whenever she panics until she's reminded of it. This is even more evident in the Japanese version.
• Compliment Fishing: Female antagonists pull a "self-deprecating" act to fish for compliments and sympathy from men and will use it to take the FMC down and even take the latter's fiancé.
  • "A woman who is a snobbish self-torturer who changes her attitude in front of men...." [sic]: Junko talks down about herself in order to fish for compliments and get out of trouble, making herself appear humble and cute around the men in the office, especially the General Manager while putting Haru down.
  • Self-deprecating woman "I'm not cute" → A harsh word from a handsome guy ... [sic]/A pretty girl is deliberately trying to get the attention of a handsome guy by saying I'm not pretty: Mio talks down about herself so that others will reassure her with the opposite. Kanade is the only one to see through it, but when the former gets work in the café the latter works at, she uses it to flirt with Narita and Casino and turn them against Kanade. Later on, when she pulls this on rich customer Alto, he doesn't fall for it and even agrees with her self-degrading.
  • "A rookie girl who joins a badminton club pretends to be a cute girl. But the handsome boy ...": Seiko constantly calls herself ugly so that the guys in the badminton club, specifically Baccarat, comfort her and tell her she's cute. Moreover, she recurs to fake tears while accusing Ram of bullying her in order to get her kicked out and have Kairi all to herself. But when she tries to pull it on Kairi and Baccarat during a training match, the former not only agrees that Seiko is ugly, but exposes her bullying of Ram to the whole class, causing her to become a pariah once her self-deprecating act was known.
• Contrived Clumsiness: Maki tries to make herself look like a "goofy girl" to attract the attention of boys and Ram is the only one who sees through the facade. When she is faced with Kanade, who is really a goofball who unwittingly steals the boys' attention from her, she can't stand it.
• Crocodile Tears:
  • "I heard that my husband was absent from work due to high fever, so when I went home with anxiety...": Misa cries as she justifies her cheating to her husband Haruki with Ram's husband Yoshikazu. However, Haruki isn't fooled.
  • "A woman who is a snobbish self-torturer who changes her attitude in front of men...." [sic]: Junko recurs to these when called out on her manipulative antics.
  • "On the eve of the wedding, my fiancée was snatched away by a bratty junior colleague...": Shiho makes liberal use of these whenever Ram calls out her mistakes or tries to hold her accountable for stealing Kinoshita-kun from her and manages to get the man's attention to get Ram off her back.
  • '"I'm not cute" → A harsh word from a handsome guy ...'[sic]: When Alto doesn't fall for Mio's self-degrading, she starts crying to get Casino's attention. However, when Alto tells the manager Kairi about the trouble Mio's caused, it turns Casino and Narita against her.
  • "Pretentious coworker with 6 boyfriends flirts with my fiancé.But it will be exposed ..." [sic]: Moka Kiyoi not only took advantage of her looks to put on a cutesy act to make men pine for her, but also resorted to high-pressure fake crying to sic them on female coworkers if they refused to do her work for her.
  • "My female colleagues want and get anything. She said she wanted my fiance too...": Eri Matsuda resorts to fake tears whenever a coworker refused to give her what she wanted, knowing her male coworkers would come to her aid and chew out whoever made her cry.
• Cult: Baccarat and Karin in this story leech money off of Kanade and Alto to give to a cult in order to increase their "soul ranking".

• Dean Bitterman: The Sopranos Elementary vice-principal from "teacher who was kind to me as a poor mother and child suddenly disappeared and 10 years later" was a huge jerk towards Matsuri for being from a poor family. However, he acts completely differently around students from affluent families, such as Kanade and Alto. Moreover, he was the one who got Ms. Kanon fired and slandered for turning him down.
• Deliberately Cute Child:
  • I was pretended to be dead by my family, and I took revenge [sic]: Kiyomi took advantage of her cuteness to get her older sister Haru in trouble ever since they were kids. After framing her for stealing money and getting her kicked out, Kiyomi had her family fake Haru's death while casting herself as a "devoted good girl".
  • My sister plundered my fiancé! Now my arranged marriage partner is also plundered: Nonoka takes advantage of her cute looks to steal suitors from her older sister Ram. To make matters worse, their parents tolerate her manipulative behavior. However, the Domestic Abuse inflicted on her by Ikki-san deteriorated her cute appearance.
• Delusions of Beauty: Burimi from "My Sister Robbed My Fiancee! However, the person who looted it was…" [sic] is a spoiled-rotten Gonky Femme who was constantly told she was cute despite evidence of the contrary. Since the couple decried her older sister Kanade as plain, Burimi grew vindictive towards her because, in her mind, a "plain girl" like Kanade shouldn't be the one who always got to marry.
• Dine and Dash:
  • "Mom Friend Makes Me Pay For Everything → But When She Goes To The Wrong High End Restaurant…": After finding out the restaurant they ate at was named "Tenor Barbecue" rather than "Soprano Barbecue" where Haru ate, Takako rushed off to the latter place without paying, while the waiter chased her down.
  • "My parents left me on a deserted island, and ten years later I became a yakuza": Momo was so spoiled rotten that she did this at every restaurant she went. Moreover, her parents always paid the bill for her. However, she made the mistake of pulling this at a Yakuza restaurant, specifically one whose owner's wife was her estranged sister, Ram.
• Dirty Coward: Near the end of I was forced to enter the contest, but my brother, a former yakuza, helped me out, when Kairi showed up to the swimsuit contest his sister Kanade was forced into, Maria's "friends" both run off and sell her out to him when they found out his tattoos.
• Dirty Old Man:
  • "When I bought new underwear, my mother-in-law suspected me of cheating on her" [sic]: Kanade's father-in-law seems to be a nice guy at first, albeit touchy with her. Turns out the man lusted after Kanade and stole her underwear when no one was looking.
  • "When we went to a spa, my father-in-law came into the spa with me...": Ram's father-in-law lusted after her, but she couldn't do anything about it because was a respected and dignified guy. However, at the spa, he followed Ram when he overheard the landlady saying there was "unisex baths". However, when he follows Ram to the alleged unisex bath, she tells him it's the women's bath, and reveals the landlady said there used to be unisex baths. When other women show up, they beat the old man up.
• Domestic Abuse:
  • Stories featuring Baccarat and Kanade as a couple have the former abusing the latter.
    • Apologies from a lousy husband→"My adulterous partner is pregnant, so let's divorce": Baccarat abuses his wife Kanade for being a "lazy and useless" and also their daughter Ram for not "turning into a Pretty Guardian" [sic]. When Kanade finds out he's cheating on her with a woman named Erica, she calls him out only for him to pull divorce papers and reveal he used up Ram's college fund on Erica, who was fired from her job. He planned to force Kanade to give up the money she earned to him and confiscated her bankbook to this effect.
    • When I went to my sister's couple's house, my sister was hung from the ceiling.She said help. [sic]: Kanade comes up with flimsy excuses about why she wears long sleeves in summer. Turns out that her husband Baccarat was beating her daily for anything, even destroying her phone.
  • My sister plundered my fiancé! Now my arranged marriage partner is also plundered: Ikki-san is revealed to be a misogynistic jerk who hated working women. Since Nonoka has stole him from Ram, she is the one who gets abused instead.
• Dope Slap: In this story, Ram chops Kairi upside the head for his lack of social filter by outright calling Haru flat and a "cutting board".
• The Dreaded: In A misunderstood woman who pretends to be a lover when she is not even in a relationship, Alto is a feared businessman whom the employees call "The Devil Nobleman".
• Dub Name Change: In the original Japanese version of My sister plundered my fiancé! Now my arranged marriage partner is also plundered [sic], Ikki-san was actually named Kazuki-san.^note The kanji for "one" can also be read as "Kazu", so 一輝 could be read as either "Ikki" or "Kazuki".

• Early-Installment Weirdness:
  • In earlier stories, Alto was a former delinquent known as the "Silver Devil" for being notoriously strong, hiding in the guise of a nerd and going back to that identity whenever he loses his patience or a loved one (especially Kanade) is in danger. Later stories dropped this backstory and never mention it again.
  • Early high-school chapters also featured a group named "Lobelia Siphilitica", led by Erica.
  • Early stories always took place in high school. Later stories have more diverse settings such as workplaces.
• Early Installment Character-Design Difference:
  • In earlier stories, Haru's blond hair was much lighter and arranged in two small odango.
  • Kairi was just as pale as the rest of the cast in earlier stories.
• Easily Forgiven: Natsu is forgiven by Haru after stealing Narita from her.
• Evil-Detecting Dog: Kanade and Onpu's dog Tone barks at the sight of the former's sister Utako.
• Evil Laugh: The antagonist tends to indulge in these while plotting to ruin the protagonist's happiness.
  • Aki from "My sister took my partner, but the man is actually too dangerous with a bad character..." pulls off one while stalking Haru to find her fiancé and steal him. A child saw her in the act and constantly pointed at her until she scared him off.
  • Sachi from "I was called that my sister robbed my fiancé, but I was on vacation with my fiancé." indulged in this after stealing Ram's husband while gloating all the way to the bedroom with him. She even laughed like this while gloating to Ram over the phone until the latter revealed she and her husband were overseas and the man Sachi snatched was actually a playboy.
  • Burimi from "My Sister Robbed My Fiancee! However, the person who looted it was…": does this often while plotting to steal Kanade's fiancé and does this while gloating at Kanade about finally doing so until the man she snatched turned out to be her fiancé's brother, Baccarat.
• Evil Twin:
  • Rui from My twin sister, whom I had insulated, pretended to be me and did evil things. [sic] is Ram's twin sister who went out of her way to take what's precious to the former, starting with her now ex-husband. Later on, she showed up at the former's doorstep to apologize for it, but it was all an act.
  • Utako from A twin thought she successfully stole her sister's fiance at the reunion but ended up with [sic] is Kanade's twin sister who goes out of her way to steal her boyfriends.
• Eyelid Pull Taunt:
  • In "My sister took my husband away from me when I was pregnant →years later she was punished", Kota pulls this on his aunt Yuri when she brought up her cheating to mock Ram.
  • "My sister trying to piggyback on my wedding anniversary dinner and get sushi at.." [sic]: Kaho and Shiho pull this on Ram before leaving with their mother Rei, who found out about Ram and Kairi's anniversary dinner.

• The Fake Cutie:
  • A friend who changes her attitude in front of boys and girls. A woman flirts with boys but... [sic]: Yoko acts cute around Alto and Narita while disparaging Kanade and Haru; the latter girl sees through her facade and tries to warn the boys about her. However, Yoko foils her warnings by fake-crying to the group so they'll force her to apologize. Later on, after cutting her finger with a broken plate, she verbally abuses Kanade, revealing her true colors to the boys. It turns out Yoko acted like that because Kanade pointed out her clumsiness in the last home ec class.
  • The end of a woman who was popular only because she was young, 20 years later: Erica is a new employee who becomes Ram's junior, in a time where women started working (set in 1992). However, she uses her cuteness to charm men into doing her work for her and turn them against Ram. She kept manipulating men with her cutesy facade even 20 years later, which by that time made her come off as dated and annoying. Ram, who became General Manager, futilely tries to get it through to Erica. However, when she tries to pull this on the new employee Alto, he refuses to fall for it and calls her out for her incompetence, over which Erica quits her job afterward.
  • A woman who is a snobbish self-torturer who changes her attitude in front of men.... [sic]: Junko forced her assigned jobs on Haru since the latter found the former crying at work. She uses her cutesy act to manipulate male employees and turn them against Haru if she dares to call her out.
  • A misunderstood woman who pretends to be a lover when she is not even in a relationship: Misato acts cute to manipulate her male coworkers, even when she doesn't look the part. She forces Kanade to do her work for her so she can goof off looking at the mirror. When the "devil nobleman" Alto refused to fall for her "charm", she tried to flirt with him even harder, only for Alto to demand she quit the company.
• Fallen-on-Hard-Times Job: In this story, Misato eventually resigned from the company on Alto's orders, not only for insulting his wife Kanade but for her slacking around and forcing her workload on the former. Furthermore, she was rejected by many other companies and ended up working at a snack bar.
• Faking the Dead: Kiyomi pretended that her sister Haru died after getting her kicked out; even her parents joined in on the lie.
• Fake Boobs:
  • The seemingly busty Nana from the episode "The embarrassing lies of a false and proud woman are exposed at the night pool" is Haru's only friend in college, but ends up shoved into a pool by a playboy while flirting with Narita. Not only did her makeup wash off, but her breast pads slipped off and floated in the pool water, revealing her facade.
  • Morimi from "A confident girl makes fun of me for having small breasts but when she jumps into the pool..." was a buxom girl who mocked Haru for being flat, especially during their trip to the pool. However, when she dives into the pool after losing a game of rock-paper-scissors, her breast pads fall off and she broke down upon being exposed.
  • Riko Tanaka from "Female employee brags about the size of her boobs but a natural airhead uncovers her truth..." always brags about having the biggest rack in the office, seducing male employees she liked while accusing the ones she disliked of sexual harassment. However, her charade falls apart after spitefully knocking over Kanade's massive paper stack and the latter shoves her out of the way, resulting in Kanade calling the ambulance thinking she had three breasts and eventually exposing she was using breast padding all along.
• False Friend: In this story, Erica was a friend of Kanade's since high school. However, she had no qualms about taking advantage of babysitting the latter's daughter Meru to cheat on Alto with Casino and mistreating Meru.
• A Family Affair: In "I told the truth to my husband who cheated on me with my sister and abused me...." [sic] Casino cheats on his wife Erica with her sister Karin, who wanted to spite her.
• Fan Convention: A Nerd Rescued a Beautiful Girl in Demon Slayer Costume at the Cosplay Festival.... [sic] is set in a Comiket, where Alto, Narita, and Kairi cosplay as Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Gyomei, respectively. Kanade and Ram, on the other hand, cosplay as Nezuko and Mitsuri, respectively.
• "Fawlty Towers" Plot:
  • This episode centers around Erica lying about being the daughter of a rich CEO. Haru doesn't buy it and keeps getting suspicious until Kanade told her she stumbled upon a disguised Erica riding a worn-out bike. To make matters worse, Kanade isn't the only one who found out.
  • Kiyomi lied about her sister Haru stealing their parents' money to move out to get her out of the house. Later on, she faked Haru's death and sickness to cast herself as a "good girl".
• Food Slap: Near the end of this chapter, Erica throws hot coffee at Kanade for bringing up Teruyama's advice from thirteen years ago. This becomes the last straw for the latter's husband Alto to fire her for assault.
• Foregone Conclusion: Stories that involve a love rival for the FMC will always end up with the love rival getting punished and/or corrected for her misdeeds while the FMC getting together with her Love Interest.
• Formerly Fit: Natsu began to gorge herself on food upon realizing she was the daughter of another man and lost her cute appearance, over which her mother calls Haru to call her out. However, Haru hangs up on her.
• Fountain of Youth: Shotae's modus operandi is turning high-school boys into babies or toddlers so she can have her way with them.
• Frame-Up: In "I was called that my sister robbed my fiancé, but I was on vacation with my fiancé." [sic], Ram was framed for wasting the family's money on designer brands, which leads her to leave the house before her parents kick her out. Years later, she meets her sister Sachi again and the latter tells the former that she was the one who did it.
