Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

Please change the Plan 9 writeup on Monster.Film M To R to this:

  • Plan 9: In this remake, Eros is portrayed as a genocidal alien invader with none of the original version's pretense of good intentions. A horrendous bigot who takes one human's attempt to utilize Solaranite as a challenge to his species' superiority, Eros sets out to destroy the human race, starting in the small town of Nilbog. Using his mothership to raise the dead, Eros has his zombie drones murder every person they come across, intending to blanket the world with rays that will bring the countless dead under his control, until the entirety of Earthling civilization is extinguished. Personally murdering Chief Simpson, as well as several soldiers sent to end the invasion, Eros manages to capture the heroine Lucy, taking sadistic pleasure in revealing her own role in the deaths of her fellow citizens, before attempting to take her back to his home planet, where he plans to torture her for the secrets of Solaranite. A calculating, brutal mass-murderer who doesn't even bat an eye at the deaths of his own people, Eros is driven by nothing more than a malignant loathing for the human race.

The meat's the same, I just moved a link and attempting to explain it would have been super awkward. I already handled the YMMV.

At Bellisarioverse, for NCIS, please pothole Kyle Thomas Boone to Gunman with Three Names (and strike the Jack the Ripoff pothole) and pothole James Landis to Corrupt Hick.

Also, at Fan Works, please change the Live-Action Films folder to Films- Live Action; remove the Disney Animated Canon, the Kung Fu Panda, and the Inside Out stuff from Western Animation and add this new folder as follows:

    Films - Animated
Disney Animated Canon
  • The Lion King (1994) fanfiction The Lion King Adventures: The Writer is responsible for all the bad things that happen in the story, and is the true villain of the series. The Writer created the world Simba and his friends lived in, and had caused every evil act in that world. The Writer also created all the other villains in the story. The Writer's creations included Scar, as well as evil versions of Timon and Pumbaa who drain the souls of cubs. He had always been trying to kill Simba and his friends or ruin their lives for fun, and at the end of the series, he goes into the world himself to kill Simba and his friends so he can take over and rule the world for eternity as he destroys thousands of lives for his own amusement.
  • The Little Mermaid 1 fanfic Under the Bright Blue Endless Sky: Ursula the Sea Witch manages to surpass her canon incarnation in sheer wickedness. The envious younger half-sister of King Triton, Ursula was banished from Atlantica after her use of dark magic caused untold havoc throughout the kingdom. Spending years attempting to inflict as much harm upon Atlantica as possible, in addition to roping unhappy merfolk into making bargains with her, many of which end with them being transformed into polyps, Ursula tricks Triton's daughter Ariel into making a deal with her in order to become human and reunite with her lover Prince Eric on land. Determined to ensure Ariel doesn't fulfill her end of the bargain, Ursula reveals Ariel's mermaid heritage to a band of unscrupulous pirates and sends them on a mad hunt for her, leaving torched villages and piles of dead bodies in their wake. Upon succeeding in acquiring the trident from her brother, Ursula immediately attempts to brutally kill her niece and her lover.
  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs fanfic The Hidden Princess and the Captive Prince: Queen Grimhilde is Snow White's Wicked Stepmother. A cruel despot, Grimhilde's dungeons are full of skeletons, many of them belonging to men who rejected her advances. Already abusive to her stepdaughter, her hostility only escalates once Snow White's beauty surpasses her own, driving her to have the princess killed. Meanwhile, she imprisons Prince Florian in her dungeons on trumped-up charges, intending to force him to marry her. When he refuses, she decides to throw Snow White's severed head into her dungeon and let him starve to death. Later on, she changes her mind about this and attempts to drown him as she leaves to poison Snow White. Vain, thin-skinned and incredibly ruthless, Queen Grimhilde will stop at nothing to become the Fairest of Them All.

Others

  • Inside Out fanfic Kids World: Annis is a power-hungry preteen who uses a Depopulation Bomb fatal to people older than twelve to rule over the remaining children. Assuming control, Annis abuses her "best friend" Riley and her foster sister Caroline, forcing the latter to set a building full of kids on fire and beats her for stopping Annis from feeding an infant to a pack of dogs. With Caroline seemingly killed, Annis mocks and brutally beats the heartbroken Riley and later throws her off a bridge for trying to stop her from causing more chaos. Enraged when Caroline and Riley survive, Annis burns multiple buildings to the ground, uncaring if they're populated, ultimately intending a devastating attack on Riley's former home Minnesota to spite her. When her control over her followers is broken, Annis rejects Riley's offer of redemption, vowing to kill her and take back her power.
  • Kung Fu Panda fanfic A Different Lesson:
    • Chao is a sadistic dark Chi user. In the past, he slaughtered an entire class of young kung fu students at the Jade Palace and killed his former friends, with only Oogway surviving. Upon being freed in the present, he painfully possesses Vachir-—leaving his soul in helpless residence—and murders at least 50 people, including children, and displays their corpses to get Tai Lung to face him. He corrupts the Sacred Pool to control everyone in the Valley, creating a monstrous court and a mob to hunt down Tai Lung when he's put on trial for a murder he's been framed for. He forces Monkey to seemingly kill Mantis, causing him guilt. To enrich his dark Chi, Chao hangs a couple on grappling hooks to bleed out while their son's gutted body is between them. While he was imprisoned, his soul helped drive Tai Lung into committing a rampage while in Chorh-Gom. Betraying Xiu in the end despite her unwavering loyalty, Chao was a sadist who wanted to live forever and force his vision of perfection on the world.
    • The aforementioned Xiu is Chao's death-loving Psycho Supporter who desires to be the best assassin in her empire. She killed her own father for being "weak" and framed it on her sister, Jia, making her a wanted criminal. Xiu twisted and manipulated Jia into serving her as an assassin who believed her father's death was her fault. She poisoned countless soldiers who had been fighting the Huns and caused others to abandon or betray China just to avoid that fate. Upon being discovered as a traitor, she murdered her kung fu master and fled. She tried to manipulate Tai Lung into joining her with lies about his family, including planting doubts regarding Shifu and Oogway's love and pride in him. She kidnaps and traumatizes Ping, kills Zhuang and frames Tai Lung for it, and makes multiple attempts to kill Po and Tigress. She is willing to let her sisters die to achieve her goals, and after they start having second thoughts and try to resist her, she is determined to kill them when she no longer needs them anymore.

Final Fantasy VII Remake:

  • Wretched Hive: While Midgar as a whole is run by the totalitarian Shinra Electric Power Company, Wall Market stands out. Despite its colorful presentation as an an entertainment quarter ostensibly free of Shinra's control, it is ruled over by the lecherous mobster Don Corneo, who marries a different woman each night before feeding them to his pet monster Abzu. According to the game's Twitter page, Wall-Market was built atop the ruins of the collapsed Sector 6 plate, and many of the businesses and establishments — namely the gambling dens, Honeybee Inn nightclub, Madame M's hand-massage parlor, and the Corneo Colosseum gladiator arena — are in the Don's pocket.

~MaLady, there's already a Tropers.Seaners. I'd suggest just PM'ing the troper (who appears to have given themselves inappropriate subpages as well), and cutlisting.

Squick.GameOfThrones...do we index subpages where the main trope page is no on-page examples. I mean, it has to get indexed somewhere, but that doesn't gel.

The Routeferret stuff, yeah, dump it into a Sandbox, notify the troper, and cutlist.

Also, please lock Morseverse

Stuff in the first folder replaces the Hawaii group at Bellisarioverse; stuff in the second folder replaces the first entry at BIONICLE. The stuff should NOT be folderized at the actual pages.

    Bellisarioverse
  • Larry Banks, aka Coach Eric Blair, from season 3's "Na Ki'i" ("Dolls"), was a perverted pornographer who drugged and forced women into taking part in sexually exploitative pictures or films against their will before he escaped to Hawaii and became a roller derby coach. Starting his enterprise up again and forcing his team to take part, he eventually drugs and offs a member who finds out the truth before later breaking the wrist and trying to murder another team member when he suspects she might be onto him.
  • Ray Beckett, from season 3's "Ho'opio" ("To Take Captive"), runs a kidnapping ring where he has kidnapped numerous children whom he would abuse until they reach adulthood, where he proceeds to kill them by burying them alive. Amanda Rollins was only 7 years old when she was kidnapped, and killed ten years later. He would also beat his wife regularly to keep her quiet and cooperative. When the Hawaii Five-0 task force arrests him and demand why he did all this, he responds that he could profit from the welfare checks that were given to the children, and mocks the parents' grievance over the children that he killed.
  • Ian Wright, from season 4's "Akanahe" ("Reluctant Partners") and the season finale "O ka Pili'Ohana ka'Oi" ("Family Comes First"), is a hacker who would steal security codes, then sell them to criminals who would use them to cause the deaths of thousands of innocents. Motivated only by greed and his own ego, he would later endanger over 300 people by threatening to cause a plane to crash if he were not released. His demands are met, but he still tries to crash the plane anyway. Later reappearing, he kidnaps Grover's daughter and puts her in a cage, in an attempt to force him to steal 100 million dollars for him and also murders an innocent old man just to get his house. He would later reveal that he never intended to actually let Grover's daughter go and was planning on killing her anyway even if he did get the money. Ian is a cold-blooded sociopath who cares only about money, and ranks among the very worst the franchise has to offer.
  • Gary Nathan, from season 4's "Pukana" ("Keepsake"), is a cold, cruel Serial Killer who kidnaps young women and then has them tortured until they break, before dealing a gunshot wound to the back of the head when they're fully broken, having done this to 14 women. Gary, to relive the experience, removes one of their fingers and takes photos of their corpses before dumping their bodies. When a burglar discovers his finger collection, Gary kills him and puts Hawaii Five-0 on his tail as a result. Capturing Agent Chin Ho Kelly when he investigates, Gary begins to beat him and tries to break his will by showing him pictures of his victims before trying to murder his own girlfriend on the off chance she may find out what he's been doing.
  • Jonathan Redmond, from the season 5 premiere "A'ohe Kahi e Pe'e Ai" ("Nowhere to Hide"), hacks into a military drone and decides to see if it works by killing two innocent hikers. Then, he uses the to terrorize the entire island killing as many people as he can, killing and wounding dozens, if not more. It reached the point where the authorities had to put the entire island on lockdown just so they could find without him killing any more. When the Hawaii Five-0 task force tries to find him, they learn that he was hired by a fugitive wanted for espionage to cause a distraction while the fugitive, who didn't want a massacre, would discreetly escape the island. Once they manage to track Redmond they asked him why he did all those things, Redmond responds that he would make money from it, and that this incident was far from his first.
  • Nashid El Hamadi, from season 7's "No ke ali'i wahine a me ka 'aina" ("For Queen and Country"), is a terrorist infamous for bombing the British Embassy in Madrid, killing and injuring numerous people. He tries to top himself by attempting to uses a cyber key called Greystone to hack nuclear power plants all over Europe and destroy them, which would lead to a disaster ten times worse that Chernobyl and the death of thousands, if not millions. After his plans were foiled by the Hawaii Five-0 task force and MI6 agent Harry Langford, who then proceed to arrest El Hamadi, he attempts to kill them by trying to shoot them In the Back.
  • Madison Gray, from season 7, is a psychiatrist who manipulates her patients into becoming serial killers; she had one patient kill 8 people while having another kill 4 tourists by gouging their eyes out. She also kills a cop and staging his death as a suicide, while murdering another person before dumping his body on someone's bed. When Steve McGarrett and FBI profiler Alicia Brown investigate her, Gray stabs them in her home before subduing them and torments Alicia about her daughter's death. She then tries to have a murderous couple kill them while she leaves Oahu, going to California to corrupt someone into copying the Zodiac Killer's murders whom MacGyver would encounter. Returning to Oahu, she would reveal to Alicia that her daughter is alive and takes Alicia to her in Wisconsin, and threatens to kill her daughter, forcing Alicia to kill Gray.
  • Emilio and Deon, from season 7's "Puka 'ana" ("Exodus") and the season finale "Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka Aina I Ka Pono" Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka Aina I Ka Pono ("The Life of the Land is Perpetuated in Righteousness"), run a human trafficking ring on Oahu where they kidnapped numerous young girls, some being as young as seven, and force them to become sex slaves, having their clients brutalize and rape them; some of these girls get shipped to the mainland. When Emilio gets captured and sells out his partner Deon for a reduced prison sentence, Deon takes the rest of his slaves to a truck, hoping to outrun the police chasing him, uncaring about the people he'll run over or if the girls might die.

    Bionicle
  • Makuta Teridax serves as the Overarching Villain of the entire franchise. A treacherous sociopath who betrayed Mata Nui and plunged him into an unending slumber, Teridax went on to terrorize the island of Mata Nui by unleashing corrupted Rahi and the Bohrok in the Chronicles era to wipe out Matoran civilizations, later using the Piraka as his puppets to enslave and murder the Matoran of Voya Nui in the Ignition and Legends arcs, before betraying his entire race of Makuta to destruction as part of his master plan. In the Glatorian arc, Teridax usurps and banishes Mata Nui, assuming control of the Matoran Universe and beginning to reshape it to his whims, before trying to wipe out Mata Nui's new home of Bara Magna and its billions of inhabitants—including his own armies—just to spite Mata Nui, planning to then move on and conquer all life across all universes, and wipe out any who oppose his reign. Always portrayed as evil as he is brilliant and manipulative, Teridax threatened billions of lives with his villainy, with nearly every major act of horror in the story tying back to Teridax in some way:
    • Animated film trilogy (in chronological order): Makuta Teridax schemes to rule the Matoran in Legends of Metru Nui, plunging Metru Nui's leader Turaga Dume into a stasis slumber and assuming control of Metru Nui. Hiring the Dark Hunters Krekka and Nidhiki to hunt and kill Toa, Teridax frames the Toa Metru and orders them eliminated before trapping thousands of Matoran in stasis pods, planning to wipe their memories then awaken them as their savior and ruler. When the Toa interfere, Teridax murders Nidhiki and Krekka to absorb their power and tries to destroy the Toa and dozens of Matoran they are rescuing, killing Turaga Lhikan in the process. Though beaten, Teridax calls to Roodaka and Sidorak in Web of Shadows, having them overrun Metru Nui with Visorak and reduce the island to a barren wasteland, hoping to leave the slumbering Matoran trapped forever. Returning to terrorize the Matoran once more in Mask of Light, Teridax unleashes the Rakshi onto a variety of Matoran cities, ordering them to destroy everything and everyone in their path to retrieve the Mask of Light, and tries to tempt Takua into betraying his best friend to destruction.
    • Podcasts and serials: In the Web Original serials, podcasts and story blogs, Makuta Teridax's rise to power and ensuing reign is given insight to its full depravity. When Teridax staged his coup against Mata Nui and the Brotherhood of Makuta, he had any dissenters to his rule hunted down and brutally murdered, mounting their masks on his wall as trophies. Encouraging and endorsing betrayals, mass murders, and horrific experiments in his Brotherhood, Teridax soon enough assumes control of the entire Matoran Universe and enslaves any surviving Makuta before exterminating them all to ensure no threats to his rule. As supreme god of the Matoran, Teridax tortures and corrupts Toa into insanity and villainy, turns one of his former partners into a painting, and begins systematically wiping out thousands of innocent beings as he establishes his godhood.
    • Semi-canon tie-in video games: Makuta Teridax first infects the Rahi of Mata Nui in Mata Nui Online, driving the docile creatures mad and siccing them onto Matoran villages, nearly drowning the entirety of Ga-Koro as just one example of the ensuing destruction. Reducing entire forests to scorched ashes and using the naive Akhmou to unleash a plague onto Po-Koro that nearly wipes the whole city out, Teridax corrupts and controls Toa Lewa into enslaving Matoran and working them to near death, all while Lewa is completely aware of the wrongdoing he is carrying out. In BIONICLE: The Game, Teridax unleashes Bohrok and Rahi onto Matoran across Mata Nui, putting hundreds in peril, and in the DS version of BIONICLE Heroes, Teridax captures the Toa Inika and strips them of their masks before using their power to rip Voya Nui apart.

I mentioned this in the namespace cleanup thread, but I have every intention to dilute the entries on Squick.Game Of Thrones to the individual episodes' YMMV subpages as appropriate. Unfortunately, most of them are not cited to any episodes, which prevents me from doing the honors myself as I have not watched the show, and I honestly wonder how much of it is complaining.

From this ATT query, can you add this paragraph to Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment:

"Don't wick to this page in trope descriptions or examples. The rule already states that tropers are editing cautiously by default — we don't need to be reminded of it every time we discuss anything possibly contentious."
