The characters from Kotobukiya's Megami Device line.

    open/close all folders

    In General
  • Action Girl: All of them are designed for battle.
  • Barbie Doll Anatomy: Like their sibling lines, none of the Megamis have anything under their bodysuits.
  • Competitive Balance: Megamis have ten categories by which their performance is measured, ranging from 0 to 50 points in their natural configurations or 0 to 100 points with player-made customizations. Balancing is handled in a manner similar to games like Gotcha Force: the stronger the individual Megami, the fewer you're allowed to deploy.
  • Exty Years from Publication: The fictional setting of the franchise takes place in 2046, thirty years after their real-life beginnings in 2016.

Women's Imperial Space Marines (WISM)

    WISM Soldier Assault (#1)

Designed By: Fumikane Shimada

Variants: Real Type

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/001_08.jpg

The first Megami, based off a popular anime character from 2046. She's equipped with a rifle, assault knife, and shovel. She and Scout come in one box, with only enough parts to build one: you can build the other by taking parts from several future waves.

  • Boring, but Practical: Assault is the cheapest Megami of all, at only 190 points, but her battery life is very high compared to the more heavily-equipped girls and her low point cost makes it easy to bring an army of her to the battlefield.
  • Shovel Strike: Her backup weapon of choice is a collapsible shovel.
  • Space Marine: It's right there in the name, but Assault exemplifies the trope the most with her choice of weapons.
  • Victory by Endurance: She and the other WISM girls have immense battery life compared to every other Megami, making getting their opponents to exhaust themselves an option if they can't win a firefight.

    WISM Soldier Scout (#1)

Designed By: Fumikane Shimada

Variants: Real Type

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/002_7.jpg

The second Megami, coming as an alternate configuration of Assault. Like the other WISM girls, she's based off a popular anime character from 2046. She's equipped with a rifle and a reconnaisance drone that can be reconfigured into a sensor unit for her gun and a jetpack. She and Assault come in one box, with only enough parts to build one: you can build the other by taking parts from several future waves.

  • Boring, but Practical: Scout's 210 point cost is slightly higher than her wavemate's, but still very low compared to most Megamis, making her suitable for army-building.
  • Not Quite Flight: Attaching her drone's wings to her backpack makes her capable of limited flight, though nowhere near what properly flight-capable Megamis are capable of.
  • Space Marine: Like the other WISM girls, she's supposed to be one of these.

    WISM Soldier Snipe (#2)

Designed By: Fumikane Shimada

Variants: Real Type

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/004_95.jpg

The third Megami, wavemates with Grapple. Like the other WISM girls, she's based off a popular anime character from 2046. She's equipped with a sniper rifle that can have its barrel changed out to a flamethrower. She and Grapple come in one box, with only enough parts to build one: you can build the other by taking parts from several future waves.

  • Boring, but Practical: At 200 points, Snipe's the cheapest option available for a long-range combatant: compare Launcher's 300-point cost.
  • Cold Sniper: Her facial expressions evoke this.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Tons of points in Long Range Combat, a tiny amount in Close Range Combat, and nothing for midrange.
  • Fire-Breathing Weapon: A change of barrel turns Snipe's signature weapon into a flamethrower.
  • Space Marine: Like the other WISM girls, she's supposed to be one of these.

    WISM Soldier Grapple (#2)

Designed By: Fumikane Shimada

Variants: Real Type

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/003_64.jpg

The fourth Megami, wavemates with Snipe. Like the other WISM girls, she's based off a popular anime character from 2046. She's equipped with no weapons, but her arms are reinforced into clawed gauntlets. She and Snipe come in one box, with only enough parts to build one: you can build the other by taking parts from several future waves.

Sonic Operation Lady (SOL)

    SOL Hornet (#3)

Designed By: Black Star Kohaku (Character) and Yasuyuki Yanase (Mechanics)

Variants: Low Visibility, Craftsmanship Ver.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/005_1.jpg

The fifth Megami, designed to pair with her wavemate Roadrunner. Unlike the WISM girls, they come in separate boxes, but can combine their armor and weapons to achieve Full Armor Mode. She's equipped with a variable flight unit, a beam rifle, and a pair of beam sabers.

  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her combination gimmick with Roadrunner is noted as this, since while it makes one of them into a lightning-fast juggernaut, it leaves the other completely unarmored and unarmed aside from a spare pistol in the middle of battle.
  • Genki Girl: Her facial expressions evoke this.
  • Jack of All Stats: While her appearance might evoke a Fragile Speedster, her flight units double as shields, meaning her Armor stat is actually quite a lot better than it looks, and at 290 points she's overall quite a lot stronger than the WISM quartet. Carrying all that equipment isn't very good for her battery life, though, which is one of the lowest around.
  • Joke Character: Hornet's Craftsmanship Ver. can be deployed for a measly 130 points, finally taking the crown from the WISM quartet and BUSTER DOLL's Gunner and Knight. Justified as she has no armor to wear and her only weapon being a camera.
  • Laser Blade: Two of them are stored on her chest armor.

    SOL Roadrunner (#4)

Designed By: Black Star Kohaku (Character) and Yasuyuki Yanase (Mechanics)

Variants: Low Visibility

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/006_62.jpg

The sixth Megami, designed to pair with her wavemate Hornet. Unlike the WISM girls, they come in separate boxes, but can combine their armor and weapons to achieve Full Armor Mode. She's equipped with rollerblades and a beam pistol with a blade along the underside.

  • Ambiguously Brown: Like Grapple, she's noticeably darker-skinned than the norm.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her combination gimmick with Hornet is noted as this, since while it makes one of them into a lightning-fast juggernaut, it leaves the other completely unarmored and unarmed aside from a spare pistol in the middle of battle.
  • Bayonet Ya: Her pistol comes with a blade that runs along the underside of her arm.
  • Fragile Speedster: She's fast, strong, and brutally powerful in close combat, although her armor and ranged abilities aren't quite up to par with Hornet's and she's only 270 points compared to her wavemate's 290. Like Hornet, her main weakness is her poor battery life.
  • Laser Blade: The bayonet attached to her pistol is one of these.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Her side hip armor becomes a hand-carried shield in Full Armor Mode.
  • Rollerblade Good: Her boots are equipped with a pair of rollerblades, giving her unparalleled ground maneuverability.
  • Smug Smiler: She comes with this expression, and is usually portrayed with it on.

    SOL Raptor (#9)

Designed By: Black Star Kohaku (Character) and Yasuyuki Yanase (Mechanics)

Variants: Strike Raptor

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bc76976469a72421ec1641bf5460ce4719db6bc1.jpg

The eleventh Megami, with nearly all the combined abilities of both of her predecessors and even more besides. She's equipped with rollerblades, large wings, a beam rifle with grenade launcher and bayonet, a beam pistol, and an owl-shaped support drone called Mimizuku-kun note . Her color variant is Strike Raptor, a dark-skinned blonde variant which adds the last few weapons from Hornet as well as Hornet's hairstyle and improved stealth capabilities.

  • Animal Motif: Owls.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: At 330 points, with Strike Raptor being even higher at 350, she's immensely powerful and maxed out or nearly maxed out in several categories. Her battery life, however, is even worse than Hornet and Roadrunner's, so she can barely fight at all before running out of juice.
  • Bayonet Ya: Her blade is attached to her rifle rather than her pistol by default.
  • Butt-Monkey: Like Eukrante and Stylet, Raptor's an easy target for bullying.
  • Canon Immigrant: Both in and out of universe, Strike Raptor was born from a crossover with the mobile game Alice Gear Aegis.
  • Laser Blade: She inherits Roadrunner's bayonet, while Strike Raptor also inherits Hornet's beam sabers.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Her utter lack of long-ranged weaponry and terrible battery life are Raptor's only weaknesses. In every other category, she's monstrously strong, although this also means her point cost is the highest of anyone at the time of her release.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: She inherits Roadrunner's shield.
  • Rollerblade Good: Her boots are equipped with a pair of rollerblades, although all the extra armor means her ground mobility isn't quite up to Roadrunner's level.
  • Sleepyhead: Her default expressions portray her like this when she's not crying.

Asura (ASRA)

    ASRA Ninja (#5)

Designed By: Nidy-2D-

Variants: Aoi, Shadow Edition, Kaname

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tokusetsu_asura_ninja_main.jpg
Kaname

The seventh Megami, designed to pair with her wavemate Archer. Like the SOL pair, they can combine their equipment to achieve the more powerful Samurai Mode for one at the cost of leaving the other unarmed. She's equipped with a tanto, a pair of kunai, and a set of katar-equipped gauntlets. Her two color variants are Ninja Shadow, a palette swap that replaces the red with purple, and Ninja Aoi, a beach-themed color variant with longer twintails, blonde hair, and energy weapons instead of solid blades.

Her upgrade is Ninja Kaname, a reimagining of the base Ninja body that uses the AUV body style as her base. She come with a trio of kunais that can be combined into a Fuuma Shuriken.

  • BFS: Samurai Mode's combined sword is gigantic.
  • Cyber Ninja: Her shtick.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Short in her original and Shadow versions, long in her Aoi color variant.
  • Jack of All Stats: Much like Hornet, who she shares her 270 point total with, her shields make her Armor stat deceptively high, slanting her more towards this than the Fragile Speedster one might expect. Unlike Hornet, however, she can't fly, but her battery life isn't nearly so bad.
  • Laser Blade: Her Aoi variant trades her solid weapons for beam blades. They're described as improving the precision but reducing the cutting power, so it pretty much evens out.
  • Superior Successor: Ninja Kaname is this, featuring a new body based off the AUV system that grants her a bit of height. She's also compatible with the original Ninja's armor or can take advantage of the AUV armor.
  • Super-Speed: Naturally, as a ninja her ground speed is phenomenally high. Her Samurai Mode makes her so fast that she can even pull off a Flash Step.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Her kunai are designed for throwing.
  • Tsundere: Her facial expressions portray her as this, particularly when it comes to Archer in promo photos.

    ASRA Archer (#6)

Designed By: Nidy-2D-

Variants: Aoi, Shadow Edition, Ouki, Kizuna

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/official_asra_archer_main.jpg
Kizuna

The eighth Megami, designed to pair with her wavemate Ninja. Like the SOL pair, they can combine their equipment to achieve the more powerful Samurai Mode for one at the cost of leaving the other unarmed. She's equipped with a katana, a pair of kunai, and a massive bow which can split into a pair of swords. Unlike other Megamis, she has three color variants: Archer Shadow, a palette swap that replaces the red with purple, Archer Aoi, a beach-themed color variant with longer brown hair and energy weapons, and Archer Ouki, an Oni-themed pink variant sold with Figure Japan magazine.

Her upgrade is Archer Kizuna, which also uses the AUV body style. She's armed with a trio of knives and a wrist mounted bowgun to shoot them with.

  • BFG: Her longbow is this, described as being capable of penetrating enemy shields and sporting immense firepower.
  • Bow and Sword in Accord: Bonus points for the bow also turning into swords.
  • Dominatrix: Her promo photos present her as this towards Ninja, with more than one image of her having the latter chained up.
  • Laser Blade: Her Aoi and Ouki variants trades her solid weapons for beam blades. They're described as improving the precision but reducing the cutting power, so it pretty much evens out.
  • Mighty Glacier: She has an incredibly powerful long-ranged weapon and backup weapons for every other range, but her mobility's poor.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Archer and Ninja both play up the sex appeal much more than their predecessors, but Archer especially so.
  • Not Quite Flight: Her bow can be equipped to her back to use as a glider, although this only gives her the bare minimum of flight capability to qualify for any points in the stat. Her Samurai Mode focuses on improving this feature, since it's designed more for getting her from place to place quickly than for combat.
  • Samurai Ponytail: Like Ninja, it gets longer in her Aoi variant.
  • Superior Successor: Archer Kizuna is this, featuring a new body based off the AUV system that grants her a bit of height. She's also compatible with the original Archer armor or can take advantage of the AUV armor.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Despite having a large number of powerful close-range weapons, Archer's actually mediocre at best in close combat, suggesting she doesn't actually know how to handle those weapons the way Ninja does.

    ASRA Kyuubi/Nine-Tails (#12)

Designed By: Nidy-2D-

Variants: Homura

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megami_device_nine_tails.png

The 14th Megami, and the third member of ASRA. She is a radical modification of the base ASRA Ninja unit with an emphasis on speed, and is even compatible with flight gear despite her added armor increasing her weight. She is a prototype for a successor to the ASRA series.

  • Cool Mask: She gets a nice Kistune mask that she can either wear over her face, or use as a hair accessory.
  • Game-Breaker: In-Universe, Nine-Tails release confused the game's battle point system due to the multiple ways her armor could be configured.
  • Jack of All Trades: Seeing as Nine-Tails was the start for what would eventually become Susanowo, she is able to handle a variety of situations by reconfiguring her armor.

    ASRA Tamamonomae (#15)

Designed By: Nidy-2D-

Variants: Hakumen Konmou

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megami_device_tamamonomae.png

The 17th Megami, the fourth member of ASRA, and the prototype for AUV. She is a radical modification of the base ASRA Archer unit with an emphasis on stealth, and a continuation of the ideas demonstrated by Nine-Tails. Her ranged attacks are carried out by remote-controlled drones, but her main purpose in battle is electronic warfare and sensor jamming. Her preferred style is to blind her enemies' sensors, then strike from the shadows and disappear again before her targets know what hit them.

Her color variant is Tamamonomae Hakumen KonmouTranslation, a white and gold recolor of the base Tamamonomae made in collaboration with online retailer BAIT.

  • Asian Fox Spirit: Both variants are based off the myths of the kitsune. Tamamonomae herself is based off a legend of a kitsune who sought to kill the emperor and take his throne.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: At 350 points, she was the most expensive unit to deploy (until Susanowo came along), and was highly specialized in long range combat with her jamming capabilities, leaving her weak to close combat.
  • Cleavage Window: Her armored top gives us a good look.
  • Cool Mask: Gets two, a recolor of Nine-Tails' Kitsune mask and a more techno-styled face mask that Ninja and Nine-Tails use.
  • EMP: How she disables her opponent's sensors.

Chaos & Pretty

Chaos & Pretty Magical Girl (#7)

Designed By: Nagi Ryo

Variants: Darkness

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tokusetsu_caospretty_magicalgirl_main_1.jpg

The ninth Megami, designed to pair with her wavemate Witch. Unlike previous waves, they have no sort of combination gimmick, and are designed more after magical girls than science fiction. She's equipped with a shield concealing a restraining collar and a "wand" that's actually a gigantic spiked mace, capable of being reconfigured into a spiked bat, a flail, or an even larger spiked club. Her color variant is Magical Girl Darkness, a Halloween-themed color variant with neon green hair.

    Chaos & Pretty Witch (#8)

Designed By: Nagi Ryo

Variants: Darkness

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tokusetsu_caospretty_which_main.jpg

The tenth Megami, designed to pair with her wavemate Magical Girl. Unlike previous waves, they have no sort of combination gimmick, and are designed more after magical girls than science fiction. She's equipped with a broomstick-shaped sniper rifle and a pair of handguns. Her color variant is Witch Darkness, a Halloween-themed color variant with purple hair.

  • Butt-Monkey: She's portrayed as being bullied by Magical Girl, and even by her own hat.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: While she has high mid and long-range combat abilities, she has no weapons for close range.
  • Lethal Joke Character: Her 270 point cost is the same as Hornet or Ninja, and she excels at any range of combat that isn't up close. Like the SOL pair, however, she suffers from a weak battery.

Chaos & Pretty Little Red Riding Hood (#17)

Designed By: Nagi Ryo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_6574.jpeg

The 19th Megami and third member of Chaos & Pretty, released alongside Alice as part of a wave with a fairy tale motif. Considered an upgraded version of Magical Girl. Her equipment is an armored red cape and a basket holding a mechanical wolf head with an AI. When the wolf head is paired with the cape for "Wild Mode", the AI transforms the latter device into a pair of oversized claws for close combat.

    Chaos & Pretty Alice (#18)

Designed By: Nagi Ryo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_6575.jpeg

The 20th Megami and fourth member of Chaos & Pretty, released alongside Little Red Riding Hood as part of a wave with a fairy tale motif. Considered an upgraded version of Witch. Her equipment is an independent AI-controlled mecha named Chronoreps. When "Wild Mode" is activated, Chronoreps transforms into a rifle and set of armor for Alice; the armor features scanners to uncover targets and allows Alice to make enormous leaps.

  • Cool Key: Her base form weapon is a Key-Axe. In Wild Mode, the key can become a gun.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Her Wild Mode gives her Chronoreps' legs and paws.
  • Super-Senses: In Wild Mode, she gains enhanced search capabilities from Chronoreps' ears.

    Chaos & Pretty Grandma (#20)

Designed By: Nagi Ryo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_6576_0.jpeg

The 22nd Megami and fifth member of Chaos & Pretty, released alongside The Queen of Hearts as a continuation of the fairy tale motif wave. Considered an upgraded version of Red Riding Hood. Her equipment includes 3 wolf heads, 2 blades, and a multitude of miniguns.

  • In the Hood: Is always wearing a black hood.
  • Hell Hound: Even if she's meant to be the grandma from the fairy tale, her armor setup takes more cues from Cerberus than the Big Bad Wolf.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Her armor set up turns her into a Cerberus, complete with Grandma herself being the central head.
  • Little Red Fighting Hood: Just with a black hood now.
  • More Dakka: She was designed to be a shooting megami, and as such, she comes with a trio of miniguns, one of them being the Gatling Gun M.S.G.

Chaos & Pretty Queen of Hearts (#21)

Designed By: Nagi Ryo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_6577.jpeg

The 23rd Megami and sixth member of Chaos & Pretty, released alongside Grandma as a continuation of the fairy tale motif wave. Considered an upgraded version of Alice. Her equipment includes a long staff, heart shaped claw, and a recolor of the Exceed Binder M.S.G..

  • Noblewoman's Laugh: Official art shows her doing just that. She even comes with a face that can allow you to recreate said laugh.
  • Underboobs: Her base outfit gives her this in spades and almost borders on Stripperific.

Bullet Knights

    Bullet Knights Launcher (#10)

Designed By: Ise River Yasutaka

Variants: Hell Blaze

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bbc6bebcc9a00001cd41761bf03830aae28d9b22.jpg

The twelfth Megami, designed to pair with her wavemate Lancer. She's equipped with a shield and a gargantuan cannon several times her own size, as well as a pair of kitchen knives and skirt armor that can turn into scissors when attached to the tubes on her headgear.

  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her incredibly powerful cannon comes with a lot of downsides, and at 300 points she's quite expensive to deploy.
  • BFG: Just look at it. It's bigger than the massive beam rifles of the original Busou Shinki Arnval MKI and her modern-day incarnation.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Her knives are basically useless in close combat, as shown by her 0 points in that category, and her cannon is so energy-hungry that her battery life is as bad as Raptor's. It's not such a bad overspecialization, though, when she's built like a tank and described as being able to defeat virtually any opponent in one shot.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Her knives are kitchen knives rather than the usual kind.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Her shield is almost as oversized as her gun. Combining them turns them into a riding platform for her.
  • Small Girl, Big Gun: Very big gun.

    Bullet Knights Lancer (#11)

Designed By: Ise River Yasutaka

Variants: Hell Blaze

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dafe434933626d1777c50abf7641f82d95c94627.jpg

The thirteenth Megami, designed to pair with her wavemate Launcher. She's equipped with a shield and a lance that's even bigger than Launcher's cannon, as well as a fork and spoon.

  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her incredibly powerful lance and superb armor and speed comes with a high 300-point deployment cost and an atrocious battery life.
  • Big Eater: Her backup weapons are a fork and spoon, and one of her faceplates has her licking her lips. Maybe it's to help with her energy issues.
  • Genki Girl: Her faceplates portray her this way, with one even having heart-shaped pupils.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Her backup weapons are a fork and spoon. Even her product page isn't sure what they're actually supposed to be useful for.
  • Jousting Lance: Her main weapon of choice, and she has the air speed to use it. The reach of her lance is so long that it gives her points in Midrange Combat by virtue of just how far away she can stab someone from.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Her shield is almost as oversized as her lance. Like Launcher's equipment, combining them turns them into a riding platform for her.
  • One-Hit Polykill: She's described as being able to pull this off with her lance because of just how big it is.
  • Yandere: She's been described by the Megami designers as a psycho lesbian.

    Bullet Knights Executioner (#13)

Designed By: Ise River Yasutaka

Variants: Bride

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megami_device_executioner.png

The 15th Megami, and the third member of the Bullet Knights. She is a radical modification of the base Bullet Knights Launcher unit, replacing Launcher's signature OHKO beam rifle with various bladed melee weapons. The intent behind Executioner was to increase Launcher's defenses and address her critical weakness in short-range combat. Executioner was also designed to be able swap gear with Launcher to create balanced or incredibly specialized custom units. Her color variant is Executioner Bride, swapping her color scheme for Exorcist's white and gold while also coming with the M.S.G. Knight Master Sword.

  • BFS: The Knight Master Sword her Bride form comes with can be configured into an anime-style buster sword.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Bride gains a shield courtesy of the Knight Master Sword
  • Sinister Scythe: Normal Executioner was packaged with the Skull Massacre M.S.G., which was a large, imposing Scythe crowned with a goat skull.

    Bullet Knights Exorcist (#14)

Designed By: Ise River Yasutaka

Variants: Widow

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megami_device_exorcist.png

The 16th Megami, and the fourth member of the Bullet Knights. Developed at the same time as Executioner, she is a radical modification of the base Bullet Knights Lancer unit, replacing Lancer's heavy defensive gear and lance with lighter armor and various blunt melee weapons. Exorcist is less of a mobile fortress than Lancer, but has greater agility and can hit individual enemies hard and fast. As with Executioner, Exorcist was designed to be able to swap gear with her counterpart Lancer to create balanced or incredibly specialized custom units. Her color variant is Exorcist Widow, which trades out her white for black and is packaged with the Grave Arms M.S.G. set.

  • BFG: Widow's Grave Arms can be converted into a massive cannon for her to fire.
  • Hammer of the Holy: Both versions of Exorcist have a small hammer they can wield, giving them a more Paladin appearance.
  • Nun Too Holy: Although it's not immediately obvious at first glance, her outfit is nun themed.
  • Small Girl, Big Gun: Not on the same level as Launcher's gun, Widow's Grave Arm's cannon mode is big enough for her to ride on into battle.

Accel Unleashed Vanguard (AUV)

    AUV Susanowo (#16)

Designed By: Nidy-2D-

Variants: Souen, Regalia, Guren

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/auv_susanowo.png

The 18th Megami, and the first member of AUV, a successor group to ASRA based on the design philosophy behind Tamamonomae. AUV emphasizes modular armor and accessory sets called AUV frames that can be combined into a variety of forms to suit different situations. Susanowo's AUV frame can switch between three forms, each with their own armor and weapon configurations: "Vigilance Mode", a defense-focused knight; "Insanity Mode", a Lightning Bruiser form; "Brutal Mode", an offense-focused beast. Her main weapon is a single-edged greatsword that can split into a rifle and axe or a razor-bladed tail.

Her color variant is Susanowo SouenTranslation; A blue and gold form that replaces her clear red bits with blue flame pieces and comes with the MSG Sharp Hand 2 set. A third variant, Susanowo Regalia, gives her a light armor that allows her to either fight or compete in beauty contests. A fourth variant, Susanowo GurenTranslation, goes in the opposite direction of Souen, featuring red and gold armor and normal orange flames.

  • All Your Powers Combined: Guren's bio reveals that people that own her have tried mixing her armor with Souen to give her both fire and ice powers. Said mixing is apparently very difficult to balance and only the most experience of people can get her to pull it off.
  • An Ice Person: Koto themselves have described Souen's blue flames as "ice flames."
  • Awesome, but Impractical: At 360 points, Susanowo is the single costliest Megami to date. Her battery life is so short that she only has time to deploy in one of her three forms per battle, limiting the usefulness of having such a large armory. Her Regalia form has a much more conservative 300 point deployment.
  • BFS: She wields the massive Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi. It can also be split into two smaller weapons, the Skyward Axe, and the Cloud Smasher.
    • Souen comes with the "Frostbite" Sword, bathed in her icy blue flames.
    • Guren has the "Heat Haze" Sword, which is your run of the mill Flaming Sword.
  • Chuunibyou: All variants are described as such by Koto.
  • Fire/Ice Duo: Souen and Guren.
  • Faux Flame: Souen's icy blue flames are courtesy of an optic generator stored within her armor. Gouren's flames also use the same technology.
  • Cool Sword/Flaming Sword: Souen has three; her massive Frostbite and her two smaller Frozen Edge blades.
  • Jack of All Trades: Susanowo's variable-configuration armor gives her a superb set of tools for practically any battle, but each form is highly specialized with obvious drawbacks.
  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: She is one of two Megamis to have Regalia Armor, a versatile set that can be used for battle or to compete in fashion contests.
  • Rugged Scar: Souen sports a scar across her right eye. Guren has one across her left.
  • Status Infliction Attack:
    • Souen's "Frostbite" Sword can "freeze" enemy Megami by lowering their mobility.
    • Guren's "Heat Haze" Sword gives an enemy Megami the "incendiary" debuff by lowering their defense.
  • Superior Successor: Her bio states that she is the combination of the ASRA Ninja and Nine-Tails lines.
  • Super-Speed: Her "Insanity Mode" in a nutshell.
  • The Berserker: Her "Brutal Mode" armor resembles a clawed beast with a razor-sharp tail, and is used for recklessly charging and smashing enemies before they can get a move in.

    AUV Amaterasu (#19)

Designed By: Nidy-2D-

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_6258.jpeg

The 21st Megami and the second Megami released in the AUV line, Ametarasu specializes in long range combat and jamming warfare. She is currently released in her fashionable Regalia variant.

  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: She is one of two Megamis to have Regalia Armor, a versatile set that can be used for battle or to compete in fashion contests.
  • Miko: Her outfit.
  • Superior Successor: Her bio states that she is the combination of the ASRA Archer and Tamamonomae lines.

The 28th Megami and the first release using the new Block 2-S Body type

  • Boring, but Practical: She can be deployed for 200 points, putting her just above the WISM quartet and BUSTER DOLL Gunner and Knight.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Shorter than almost all Megamis due to her using the Block 2-S Body.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: Her mallet can be turned into a set of boxing gloves which lets her enter "Super Neko Punch Mode" where she pummels her opponent in a flurry of punches.
  • Rocket Punch: Super Neko Punch Mode can also allow her to fire off one of her gloves as a projectile attack.

Crossovers with Alice Gear Aegis

    Kaede Agatsuma (#A1)

Designed By: Fumikane Shimada

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2cb70a42fba9872d530f630622e8a34828efa1fb.jpg

The first crossover with the mobile game Alice Gear Aegis, and its main protagonist. She's equipped with a beam katana, a rifle, a massive cannon, and a pair of supporting drones. An upgraded version with black armor and a new BFS was announced in 2019.

  • BFG: Not as big as Launcher's, but still pretty big.
  • Long Runner: Her game's been in service for 30 years according to the lore.
  • Master of All: Since she comes from a game where the player fights alone rather than on a team, she's good at everything, but also quite expensive to deploy at 340 points.

    Sitara Kaneshiya (#A2)

Designed By: Ebigawa Kanemu

The second crossover with the mobile game Alice Gear Aegis, and the first Megami to use a shortened body type. Rather than her original Ganesha equipment, she uses a newly-made set of equipment dubbed Carbachoto. She's equipped with a beam saber, a beam rifle, and a quartet of supporting drones. A prototype of her original Ganesha equipment was first shown at the end of 2019.

  • Game-Breaker: Her original gear and Indradanus superweapon are described as being too powerful for Megami battles to be commercially sold, although her description says that scratchbuilt versions exist.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Compared to Kaede, she has poor performance in midrange combat and a lower overall point total, but she's still remarkably strong in every other category.
  • Long Runner: Her game's been in service for 30 years according to the lore.
  • Original Generation: Unlike Kaede, who uses her original equipment from her home game, Sitara was redesigned with a new much lighter set of gear to make her practical to sell. And then they made her original equipment anyway.

Crossovers with Busou Shinki

    Type Jaeger Edelweiss (#B1)

Designed By: Fumikane Shimada

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/d0be66937731140f593e3943c4612bfa09c1912a.jpg

The first crossover with Konami's revived Busou Shinki line. Themed after a German soldier and an elven princess, She's equipped with a rifle that doubles as an axe and a quartet of swords, which her backpack can use as scissors.

  • BFG: Her rifle is specialized for long-distance shooting and boring through armor with powerful solid rounds.
  • Boring, but Practical: After many of the increasingly flashy Megamis before her, Edelweiss's weapons appear simplistic, but she's excellent at both close and long-distance combat and pairs high mobility with good battery life. Her main drawbacks are her 280 point cost and lack of options for dealing with opponents at mid-range.
  • Gratuitous German: Most of her weaponry has German names, since she's themed after a World War 1-era German soldier.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Her sword holsters may look like wings, but they're actually extra arms capable of wielding all of her swords at once.
  • Our Elves Are Different: The first Megami with elf ears.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Edelweiss's expressions and promo photos suggest she's easily flustered and embarrassed, rather than intentionally playing up her sex appeal.

    Type Angel Arnval (#B2)

Designed By: Masaki Asai

Original Artist: Fumikane Shimada

Variants: Repaint Color Ver.

The first Shinki released, Arnval now makes her return in a faithful recreation of her Mk. 1 form 15 years later. As with her original incarnation, she can be assembled with either long or short hair.

  • BFG: Wields a massive cannon longer than she is tall. In the old heyday of the Shinki, it was the single largest Shinki cannon available, but it has been superseded by Bullet Knight Launcher's cannon in sheer size.
  • Mythology Gag: She has a whole bunch of components that shout back to the original shinki series back in 2008 - She has optional 'exposed core' chestplates with the 3-gem core from the old Battle Rondo browser game, a set of optional lower leg parts that allows her to plug in vintage Shinki lower leg pegs for old-style feet, her knee joints are the sculpted and pinned single-joint knees of the vintage style rather than the modern double-jointed Machineca knees, her upper arm and thigh socketed spacers come in both modern 3mm and vintage Shinki-style 3.5mm, and she uses the swing-out hip joint parts in the old-school Shinki style instead of the Z6 T-joint hip bar used by modern Megami Device girls.

    Type Devil Strarf (#B3)

Designed By: Masaki Asai

Original Artist: Fumikane Shimada

Variants: Repaint Color Ver.

The second Shinki released, Strarf now rejoins her wave-sister with a faithful recreation of her Mk. 1 form 15 years later.

  • Girlish Pigtails: She sports twintails that complement two of her commonly-seen personalities as a Genki Girl (in Otomedius), or as a Tsundere (in the original Battle Rondo PV).
  • Mythology Gag: She has a whole bunch of components that shout back to the original shinki series back in 2008, just like Arnval - She has optional 'exposed core' chestplates with the 3-gem core from the old Battle Rondo browser game, a set of optional lower leg parts that allows her to plug in vintage Shinki lower leg pegs for old-style feet, her knee joints are the sculpted and pinned single-joint knees of the vintage style rather than the modern double-jointed Machineca knees, her upper arm and thigh socketed spacers come in both modern 3mm and vintage Shinki-style 3.5mm, and she uses the swing-out hip joint parts in the old-school Shinki style instead of the Z6 T-joint hip bar used by modern Megami Device girls.
  • Power Fist: her armored rig has a pair of large, articulated clawed hands.

Crossovers with Frame Arms Girl

    Baselard (#F1)

A more faithful representation of Baselard from the anime. Because Megami Device bodies are smaller scale than Frame Arms Girls, this allows her to be depicted as the Token Mini-Moe of her cast. Her alternate is Magical Baselard, which swaps her space armor for the dress armor of Expansion Armor E and gives her a gold version of the Alnair Rod in place of her array of beam rifles.
