- Lightning Bruiser: How many guys that big can pull off a perfect Shooting Star Press and land on their feet when they do it?
- Power Stable: Part of Azteca Underground as stated in the 2021 Open Draft. A Call-Back to his days in Lucha Underground as Son of Havoc.
- Red Baron: “M-Dogg 20”, for some reason wrestling sites covering his MLW matches in the Underground years like to list him as this instead of his ring name.
- Straight Edge: Is this in real life, though it is not part of his gimmick like CM Punk.
- The Worf Effect: Usually loses matches since returning in the Fusion era, though he does give his opponents a run for their money.

Shane Douglas (Troy Martin) 2002

Ekmo (Edward Fatu) 2003
Jack Evans/Dark Fuego (Jack Edward Miller) 2004
- Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Was he ever.
- Combat Pragmatist: Wasn't ashamed in the slightest of being a cheat to win. In his mind, it's just being smarter than his opponent.
- Dance Battler: Used to be a major wrestling example of this in his younger years, and still showed shades of this with his flips and spins. He was actually quite graceful for such an intense, heelish guy.
- Masked Luchador: As Dark Fuego.
- Power Stable: Part of the Hart Foundation 2.0 in the Underground days.
- Red Baron: “Jumpin”, “Prince of Parkland”, “Aerial Emperor Corkscrew”.
- Spot Monkey: Practically every single move he does involves at least one flip. The worst part, he's sloppy as hell and has landed on his head countless times, only surviving for how flexible he is.
- Ur-Example: Innovator of the 720 moonsault.
Terry Funk 2002-2004
Juventud Guerrera (Eduardo Aníbal González Hernández) 2003
- Expy: Inspired by an insult from The Rock, Juvi adopted a gimmick "The Juice," which was basically The Rock's gimmick with the twist being that The Juice would get the name of the town they were in wrong.
- Meaningful Name: His name translates into 'Youth Warrior'.
- Red Baron: "The Juice".
- Unmasked Luchador: Lost his mask years ago.
- Wrestling Family: The son of Fuerza Guerrera, brother to Fuerza Guerrera Jr/El Hijo de Fuerza Guerrera and Hija de Fuerza Guerrera and the uncle of Furia Guerrera.

- Friendly Enemy: He was this to The Sandman of all people, he shared a hug with him at ringside and didn’t get involved in Sandman’s tag team match with Tommy Dreamer against Teddy’s Hart Foundation partners, Brian Pillman Jr. and Davey Boy Smith Jr..
- Game-Breaking Injury: Suffered broken ribs at the hands of the Dynasty after he defended his Middleweight Championship against MJF.
- Impossibly Cool Clothes: Just look at his wardrobe and say otherwise.
- Jack of All Stats: Is pretty well versed in all aspects of wrestling, he can fly, knows his submissions and despite his size has power moves.
- Jerkass: Presents himself as such most of the time thanks to his Small Name, Big Ego reputation and his Spot Monkey tendencies. It took feuding with a group of even bigger ones in The Dynasty that turned him into a Face (not that the crowds cared, they loved him regardless).
- Kind Hearted Cat Lover: A known cat lover and breeder of Persian cats.
- Power Trio: The leader of the New Era Hart Foundation in the revival.

- Red Baron: "Loose Cannon", "The Past, Present & Future Of Professional Wrestling", "The Angel of Life and Death".
- Spot Monkey: A notorious example. Thankfully Hart's spot monkeying and locker room hell raising gradually diminished over the years to the point then rookie wrestler MJF was able to convince Hart to not have a Canadian Destroyer off a ladder through a flaming table be one of the spots in an MLW match they had.
- Wrestling Family: His father B.J. Annis was a wrestler and his grandfather on his mother’s side was Stu Hart.

Richard Holliday (Joe Zimbardi) 2018-present
- Arch-Enemy: He doesn't have one, as he is so cocky and arrogant that he doesn't really consider any of the people he has pissed off to be worth his time. The list of people that think of him as this, however, is quite extensive; all three members of the New Era Hart Foundation, Mance Warner, former Dynasty member Gino Medina, Savio Vega, etc. As of 2022, he now has an official one in the name of his former Dynasty teammate Alexander Hammerstone after he and Alicia betrayed him.
- Alicia Atout counts more as a Sitcom Arch-Nemesis, their feud started when Holliday was guest on her show on Pulp Fusion and just escalated from there. Other people like to point out they are more Like an Old Married Couple. They are now in an Unholy Matrimony relationship after Holliday's betrayal of Hammerstone.
- Beware the Silly Ones: His Dumb Jock and Upper-Class Twit behaviour hide the jealousy and rage that was building up in him until he finally betrayed Hammerstone.

- Politically Incorrect Villain: Claims he initially wanted Gino Medina in the Dynasty to appeal to the "Spanis"“ demographic, despite Gino being Mexican.
- Porn Stache: Grew one during the pandemic lockdown as seen on Pulp Fusion. He shaved it off before the restart, he claims it was because too many women became attracted to him to handle.
- Power Stable: One of the founding members of The Dynasty. Now a part of the World Titan Federation in his second run.
- Put on the Bus: Had to take time off from wrestling and his feud with Hammerstone as he got cancer.

- Brainwashed and Crazy: There are several hints and theories that Mads is actually a brainwashed Logan Creed, who was stalking CONTRA Unit on Pulp Fusion episodes before The Restart.
- The Brute: The biggest soldier of CONTRA Unit.
- Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Sort of, before knocking out Alex Hammerstone in their Baklei Brawl, he tells Hammerstone that CONTRA has "big plans" for him. Since Hammerstone is still active and not in a body bag, this trope is implied to be the reason.

Gino Medina (Luis Alberto Medina Montes) 2019-2022
- Arch-Enemy: Richard Holliday for some unexplained reason, that caused him to leave (or if one believes Holliday, was fired from) The Dynasty. He has also begun feuding with non-Mexican luchadors that he regards as stealing from and therefore disrespecting Lucha Libre, like Americans Gringo Loco (who he believes ripped off almost all of his gimmick from Los Gringo Locos, a faction his father was part of) and Zenshi.

- He has now one in Aramis, after attacking him after a trios match.
- Cool Shades: Always wears a pair when not wrestling.

- Odd Friendship: With Mance Warner, as well as Lince Dorado to a degree.
- Pint-Sized Powerhouse: He has dwarfism and is even smaller than Swoggle, yet that doesn’t stop him from performing as a luchador.

- Ascended Fan Boy: Like his buddy Tom Lawlor, he was a pro wrestling fan growing up.
- Cool Crown: Wears one to the ring in his entrance.
- Face–Heel Turn: He actually debuted as a face, before allying himself with Team Filthy anyway.
- Parasol of Pain: Carries one during his entrance, something he brought over with him from his MMA career along with the crown and coat. He unfortunately doesn’t have women carry it for him anymore.

Ricky Morton 2022
King/Mil Muertes (Gilbert Cosme Ramírez) 2020–2022
- Alliterative Name: Mil Muertes.
- Ax-Crazy: Muertes seldom speaks save for a snarl, preferring to express himself by savaging his opponents in the ring, beating them while they're down and even biting them. Even MLW's cameramen are not safe from his wrath, although he limits himself to grabbing at any who get too close.
- Arch-Enemy: After Alexander Hammerstone won his National Openweight Title match against LA Park, Muertes blindsided Hammerstone and stole his National Openweight Championship belt after smacking him in the head with it. Hammerstone's had it out for Muertes afterwards.

- Camera Abuse: Muertes will roughly shove away any camera that gets too close to him as he enters the ring, or sometimes violently grab it with both hands and roar into it.

- Masked Luchador: Unlike the other luchadores on MLW's roster, Muertes uses a more grounded style that befits his massive frame.
- Mighty Glacier: In comparison to the other, more high-flying luchadores, Muertes is almost glued to the ground, favoring brutal strikes to beat his opponents senseless. Even LA Park busts out the occasional high flying move, despite being the oldest luchador in the promotion.
- Names to Run Away from Really Fast: His old ring name roughly means “Man of a Thousand Deaths”.
- Parts Unknown: Is billed as from “Beyond the Grave”.
- Power Stable: Part of Promociones Dorado after it was bought over by Azteca Underground.

- Artifact Title: The KC part of his name is a reference to his old ring name “Kid Christian”.

Shigeo Okumura (奥村 茂雄, Okumura Shigeo) 2024-
- Former Bigot/Immigrant Patriotism: He went from a most vocal Mexican hater to basically blending in with the crowds of Mexico City and representing Mexico abroad when leaving CMLL to work for foreign enterprises.
- Guest Fighter: From CMLL.
- One Name Only: For some reason, he is only referred to by his surname here.
- Pet the Dog: Okumura helps Japanese talent establish themselves in CMLL by acting as a translator, even those that openly embraced Mexicans during his "anti Mexico" phase.
- Red Baron: "Anti-Mexico" during his La Ola Amarilla days.
- Tag Team: With Satoshi Kojima as CozyMAX.
- The Thing That Would Not Leave: Was formerly a foreigner on excursion from All Japan Pro Wrestling to CMLL who hated Mexicans. Fair enough, except that Okumura remained while all the other Japanese wrestlers returned to their home promotions and in fact stayed in Mexico apparently in the name of antagonizing Mexicans for so long that he began to speak Spanish with a Mexican accent. Over a decade of this eventually lead to a Heel–Face Turn of sorts, or perhaps something like him being there so long that it became harder for people to truly become angry with him anymore. And besides, he was a nice translator for that steady flow of Japanese wrestlers on excursion.
Jordan Oliver (Jordan Oliver Jr.) 2019-2021
- Arch-Enemy: MLW management, Brian Pillman Jr., AAA luchadors, CONTRA Unit (especially Simon Gotch), LAX/5150.
- The Big Guy: Was technically this as part of Injustice as he is the tallest of the group. He is now legitimately this since he moved up to heavyweight.

- Cluster F-Bomb: He and his stablemate Myron Reed may have the foulest mouths on the MLW roster. Until the arrival of the new LAX/5150 anyway.
- Mouthy Kid: Fits the role to a tee, even if he is 21 as of 2021. Having the voice of a preteen boy helps.

- Power Trio: Is part of Injustice alongside Myron Reed and Kotto Brazil (before Kotto left anyway).

- Teen Genius: Debuted at age 19.
- Token White: Is the only white guy in Injustice.
- White Gangbangers: His gimmick. Which makes sense: Newburgh, NY is known for having extensive gang activity, so it'd make sense that a white kid who grew up there would be a gang member.

- Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Despite being treated as a Joke Character in the promotion, outside of it, he is a regular in the deathmatch scene in the independents.
- Fragile Speedster: Is visibly a lot smaller than Team Filthy and the Von Erichs, so he doesn’t really bring much to the table in a fight, other than giving Team Filthy a numbers advantage.
- Power Stable: Is the Tagalong Kid of Team Filthy.
- Put on the Bus: Hasn’t been seen since the pandemic hiatus, though he is scheduled to be part of the new season of Fusion beginning in July 10 2021.
- The Bus Came Back: Came back for Battle Riot III.
- Wrestling Family: Subverted, as Rip Von Erich, Tom Lawlor claims him to be the son of “late” Lance Von Erich (the fake Von Erich cousin, who was billed as the son of Waldo Von Erich, the fake brother of Fritz, and is also still alive).

- Armor Is Useless: Zigzagged, he wears a chest protector (later a protective vest after Daivari destroyed the chest protector) everywhere he goes to symbolically represent that he and Injustice don’t trust MLW management to protect them, so they will protect themselves. It doesn’t protect him from the impact that wrestling moves like slams and flying moves are known for, though it does protect him from strikes to his chest.

- Face–Heel Turn: Betrayed Davey Richards after the Thrilla in Philla and joined the Bomaye Fight Club.

- Beard of Evil: Samael has a wild, salt-and-pepper beard that adds to his intimidating appearance.
- Big Bad: Technically CONTRA as a whole is the this in MLW, though Josef seems to have the most clout along with Jacob Fatu.
- Combat Pragmatist: It is almost always never a fair fight with him. Aside from his CONTRA comrades, he will hide his spike in his boots to use when the referee isn’t looking, take off his boots and use them if he feels like it, bite his opponents, use the tape on his wrists to choke out his victims, use almost everything that isn’t nailed down like chairs and cable wires from the broadcast table, or he will just take the disqualification loss and do whatever comes to his mind to his poor victims, his favorite being throwing a fireball in their faces.
- Commuting on a Bus: Since the restart, he hasn’t appeared in person at the shows, though he still gives promos via recorded video messages framed as ISIL-style propaganda. His role in having Jacob Fatu’s back is now being filled by Daivari.

- Garbage Wrestler: Not surprising given who he is based on.

- Leotard of Power: His wrestling gear.
- Meaningful Name: Samael in Jewish folklore is an archangel and their equivalent to Satan in Christianity. The name in Hebrew also translates into “Poison/Blindness of God”.
- Mouth of Sauron: He is the mouthpiece of Contra Unit; hyping up their "soldiers", threatening the other wrestlers, boasting about their plans to take over MLW, and so on.

- Power Stable: Is the one with most clout in Contra Unit.

- Arch-Enemy: He became this to CONTRA Unit when he saved Injustice and attacked Jacob Fatu. Later on, he would challenge Fatu for his title and came incredibly close to beating him: it took Daivari's interference and Fatu smacking Tankman with the CONTRA flag to put Tankman down.
- Now has one in Alex Kane, after Tankman refused to join up with King Mo and Kane, Kane responded by attacking Tankman and injuring him, then interfered in Tankman’s Opera Cup match against TJP causing him to lose and got Tankman arrested when Tankman attempted to assault Kane and Mr Thomas in a parking lot.

- Chainsaw Good: Once used a chainsaw to scare Jimmy Havoc and Salina de la Renta off. Unfortunately, he was predictably arrested.

- Combat Pragmatist: Loves going for eye pokes.
- Cool Uncle: He has one in Uncle Moonman, who unfortunately didn’t return with him in his second run.
- Dating Catwoman: Was in a relationship with Steph De Lander before she betrayed him and made him lose the Loser Leaves MLW match with Matt Cardona. Despite that, they both are very attracted to each other.
- Deep South: He is a rare positive example of this trope. He's a decent if slightly ditzy guy who just happens to enjoy eye pokes and light beer.
- Enemy Mine: What does noted Garbage Wrestlers Sami Callihan and Mance Warner have in common? Both of them have beef with Salina De La Renta (& her Promociones Dorado stable). Why you ask? YAMATO (小野寺 正人, Onodera Masato) 2022
- A God Am I: Part of his heel gimmick involved him claiming to be "all-seeing and all-knowing".
- Ambiguously Gay: His narcissistic pretty boy gimmick, complete with long dark hair and eye makeup, and his tendency to call himself & Naruki Doi the "coolest and sexiest team" lean towards this.
- Badass Longcoat: Started wearing a sleeveless one after turning heel in 2013, and usually concealed a handheld mirror within it.
- The Fighting Narcissist: His gimmick as of his June 2013 heel turn. He still shows flashes of it despite being a face, but it's mostly been toned down.

- I Know Karate: Was a part of the Wajutsu Keishukai MMA team, and his grounded, deliberate wrestling style reflects it.
- Mr. Fanservice: Even in a roster full of pretty boys, he stands out as this, mostly due to his narcissistic personality. Also his incredibly small trunks. And outside of wrestling, that cooking show he does where he doesn't wear a shirt under his apron.
- Legacy Character: Early in his career, he wrestled as Masato Onodera and had inherited Yasushi Kanda's gimmick (Kanda being injured indefinitely at the time).

Zenshi (Jacob McCarter) 2019-2021
- Alternate Company Equivalent: To WWE’s Kofi Kingston in Battle Riot III (a Alternate Company Equivalent itself to the Royal Rumble), where he constantly got thrown out of the ring without his feet touching the floor and performing crazy athletics to get back in.
- Fragile Speedster: Zenshi is quick on his feet and able to perform stunning acrobatic feats that leave his opponents floored. However, he's also smaller than most of the roster. Blows that would stagger another wrestler often send Zenshi sprawling.
- Lotus Position: He does this pose in his entrance after leaping over the top rope and as a taunt during his matches, symbolizing his utter calm in the face of his enemies.
- Masked Luchador: An American born example.
- Mistaken Nationality: Is billed from and does live in Santiago, Chile, so some fans think he is South American. He is actually an American originally from Atlanta, Georgia before he relocated to Chile.
- Red Baron: “The Aerial Artist”, “The South Ameriking”.
- Spot Monkey: Perhaps the most notable one in the promotion behind Teddy Hart.
- The Worf Effect: Zenshi often loses to opponents who are being built up as a threat.

Aria Blake (Nikki M. Sawyer) 2017-2021
- Fiery Redhead: In the beginning, she later switched to dyeing her hair blond.
- Gold Digger: The reason that she would end up with MJF from her ex Joey Janela. Later mentioned that MJF had to pay her off as well after they broke up. This is probably also the reason she began working for Colonel Robert Parker and managing the Dirty Blonds.
- Red Baron: “The Spoiled Brat”.
- Wrestling Family: In real life, she is married to TJ Perkins.
Dario Cueto/Cesar Duran (Luis Fernandez-Gil) 2021-
- Affably Evil: Duran rarely lost his cool, and when he was making a wrestler an offer or offering him a pep talk, he was actually pretty charming and likable.
- Faux Affably Evil: The question of how much both tropes applied to him was a subject of much debate amongst fans.
- Arch-Enemy: Alexander Hammerstone, who has been a thorn in his side for refusing to align himself with Duran. He also has been trying to get rid of Microman, because he hates midgets and exoticos.
- Author Appeal: Gold and violence.
- Bad Boss / Mean Boss: If he doesn’t like someone, he will do almost anything in his power to screw them over.
- Big Bad: If his history is any indication, he is shaping up to be this.
- Deal with the Devil: He is the devil behind the deal with Salina de la Renta.
- Evil Is Hammy: HELL. YES. He chewed so much scenery it was amazing the doorway to his office wasn't covered in bite marks.
- The Ghost: Was originally this as the mysterious El Jefe behind Salina de la Renta and Promociones Dorado. Come Fusion Episode #131, there he shows up in the flesh.
- He's Back!: Returned from the cancellation of Lucha Underground to build a new temple in MLW.
- Insistent Terminology: Refers to the fans as “believers”. He later changed it to “renegades“ for some reason.
- Large Ham: Gloriously showed that he still got it at Battle Riot III.
- New Era Speech: His first action in his official debut at Battle Riot III was basically this.
- Non-Action Guy: Obviously, since he was a businessman, not a wrestler.
- Power Stable: The Man Behind the Man of Azteca Underground.
- Precision F-Strike: Gave one to Myron Reed, while asking who he is.
- Put on the Bus: Got kidnapped by his own Azteca henchmen and hasn't been seen since.
- Red Baron: “El Jefe”.
- Screw the Rules, I Make Them!: Is the new matchmaker for MLW and if his history is indication, he will being abusing his power before long.
- Smug Snake: Not all the time, but he'd really lay the venom on people he dislikes.
- You Have Failed Me: His first onscreen act in MLW was to address Salina de la Renta’s string of failures after abducting her, before stating that she must pay the “ultimate sacrifice”.
Cristobal Culebra 2020-2021
- Alliterative Name
- Camera Abuse: He shoves the cameras to the ground whenever he needs to talk to Salina de la Renta.
- Early-Bird Cameo: Was first seen beside Salina in an episode of Pulp Fusion.
- Number Two: Implied, he directly reports to El Jefe and keeps tabs on Salina de la Renta for him.
- The Starscream: Apparently betrayed El Jefe by helping Salina de la Renta escape on a helicopter to prevent her from being sacrificed.
Steph De Lander (Stephanie De Landre) 2023-2024
- Action Girl: Was willing to get into the ring with Masked Good Brother #3.
- Et Tu, Brute?: Betrayed her lover Mance Warner in his "Loser Leaves MLW" match against Matt Cardona.
- Put on the Bus: Hasn't been back since her match with Masked Good Brother #3.
Stokely Hathaway 2017-2018
- Arch-Enemy: MVP, as a former client of Black Friday Management that left on bad terms.
- Beard of Evil
- Butt-Monkey: Frequently gets his butt handed to him when he interferes in matches.
- The Man Behind the Man: The head of Black Friday Management after Gary Hart passed away, the former manager of Low Ki and was once implied to have also been one for MVP.
- Put on the Bus: Was kidnapped just before the start of the Fusion episodes. He briefly returned in late 2018, but left shortly afterwards when he signed with WWE.
Don King 2023-
- The Ghost: Was this as the mysterious backer of Bombaye Fight Club until Never Say Never 2023.
- The Man Behind the Man: Is the one behind Alex Kane and The Bombaye Fight Club.
Konnan (Charles Ashenoff) 2018-2022
Dan Lambert 2019-2021
- Ascended Extra / Ascended Fan Boy: Got his start in the pro wrestling business in Eddie Graham’s Championship Wrestling from Florida as part of the ring crew. He also has a collection of about 100 ring-used championship belts from every territory.
- The Man Behind the Man: The manager of King Mo and the owner and founder of the American Top Team MMA team.
- Put on the Bus: Hasn't been featured on any shows since the Fusion ALPHA reset, since he now appears on AEW
Colonel Robert Parker (Robert Welch) 2018-2021
- Commuting on a Bus: Hasn’t been at live shows for quite a while, though his interests have been represented by Aria Blake in his absence.
- Dirty Old Man: Once strong armed MLW interviewer Vanessa Craft into having tea with him with certain implications. Also had a thing with well-known Gold Digger Aria Blake.
- Fat, Sweaty Southerner in a White Suit: Fits this trope to a t.
- Power Stable: Is the man behind the Stud Stable.
Karlee Pérez 2021-2022
Gina de la Renta (Gina Class) 2024
- Spicy Latina: Her first appearance was being in an argument with Cesar Duran. Salina had to get it from someone.
Salina de la Renta (Natalia Guzmán Class) 2018-2021, 2023-
- Arch-Enemy: Konnan, Mance Warner, Low Ki. Previously Sami Callihan, but Salina used Mance Warner to send him packing. "Filthy" Tom Lawlor was, but that was by extension via Low Ki being the MLW Champion.
- Big Bad: Was originally this before CONTRA Unit stole her thunder.
- Disproportionate Retribution She dispatched L.A. Park to go against Mance Warner. Why you ask? For accidentally spilling beer on Salina's dress in the hallway.
- Insistent Terminology: She is quick to clarify that she doesn’t “manage wrestlers”. De la Renta says she “showcases premiere Latin talent“. Wrestlers under her are “presented” by her instead of being accompanied by her.
- The Nicknamer: Just ask Sami “The Warthog” Callihan and Mance “That Goat Lover” Warner.
- Not So Above It All: She usually presents herself as a serious businesswoman, but she once came out presenting LA Park for his death match with Mance Warner by doing the La Parka strut.
- Power Stable: The founder and owner of Promociones Dorado.
- The Quisling: According to Konnan, she was the one that let CONTRA Unit into MLW in the first place, and received undisclosed funds from the spring of 2019 – September 2019 before the relationship supposedly had a falling out upon LA Park electing to cash in his Battle Riot title shot. There are also indications that Salina and CONTRA briefly collaborated again on or near May 9th, 2020 by aiding CONTRA in gaining arena access to the AAA/MLW Super Series, which led to the seizure of the league by CONTRA until the Restart.
- Red Baron: “The Empresaria of Lucha Libre”, “The Puerto Rican Power Broker”, “La Bruja”.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: If her Twitter is to be believed, she managed to escape being sacrificed with help from Cristobal Culebra and boarded a helicopter to get a far away from Azteca Underground and MLW as possible.
- The Bus Came Back: Returned at Fury Road'23 so the above must have been true.
- Spicy Latina: Salina may be the spiciest in all of American wrestling right now.
- Ur-Example: The first Latina to Executive Produce a Pro Wrestling Show.
- You Have Failed Me:
- Salina punished Sami Callihan for his failure to take out Tom Lawlor by forcing him into a Falls Count Anywhere match against LA Park, which Park won after spearing Callihan through several chairs.
- This trope was also the reason that Salina fired Sammy Guevara for losing his match when he was in her Promociones Dorado faction.
- Ironically, Salina herself would eventually be a victim of this. After Hijo de LA Park lost his match against Bu Ku Dao in Fusion episode 130, she would be abducted by a masked man and bundled into a car. The very end of Fusion episode 131 would reveal that she was taken to the office of "El Jefe", who proclaimed his intent to sacrifice her to consecrate the new arena of Azteca Underground.
