Werewolves
Emma Garza
The daughter of Luna Garza and Marcus Bozeman.

- Break the Cutie: She spends half of season five held hostage by vampires. Then in the sixth season premiere, she watches her mother die. Then she gets kidnapped again by the werewolf pack.
- Human Pet: Inverted. Russell takes her in her werewolf form to be Steve Newlin's new pet dog. When she returns to her human form, Steve gets angry and orders her to remain in her werewolf form indefinitely.
- Involuntary Shapeshifting: Changed into a werewolf involuntary, much to her mother's shock who was hoping she'd be a shifter.
Debbie Pelt
The pathologically jealous and vigilant on/off girlfriend of Alcide Herveaux. A native werewolf of Mississippi, she was once engaged to Alcide, but they broke off their involvement after he insisted he did not want to breed, because he despised his own species. Debbie became addicted to V and engaged to a werewolf in Russell Edgington's command, Cooter. Despite this, she grew jealous of her ex Alcide's association with Sookie Stackhouse.

- Coup de Grâce: When Debbie attacks Sookie in the Season 4 finale, Tara jumps in the line of fire, and takes a bullet to the head. In a rage, Sookie wrestles Debbie to the ground, and rips the shotgun from her, and aims it right under her chin, amongst Debbie's cries for mercy. It doesn't work.
- Designated Girl Fight: Debbie and Sookie's fight in Sookie's room during season 3 while Bill and Jessica (a girl of course, but a stronger supernatural being) were taking care of Russell and the other werewolves invading Sookie's home during episode 8.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: She did love Cooter, and Alcide. And she had two parents who adored her.
- Final Boss: Season 4 ends with her killing Tara and ultimately fighting and being killed by Sookie in return.
- Glasgow Smile: Sookie gets out of a chokehold Debbie has on her during their season 3 fight by giving her one with a pair of scissors. She's healed the next time we see her.
- Gun Struggle: Between Debbie and Sookie. Guess who wins?
- Love Makes You Crazy: Debbie is this trope.
- Love Makes You Evil: Upon seeing Alcide carrying an unconscious Sookie, Debbie beings to believe that Alcide is cheating on her behind her back.
- Murder the Hypotenuse: Sookie.
- Pet the Dog: She helps Sookie sneak into Moon Goddess Emporium in season 4 to locate Eric, and later helps her escape when Marnie is alerted to her presence.

- Taking the Bullet: Debbie's shotgun fires and hits Tara, who tried pushing Sookie out of the way.
- This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: During the season 3 catfight between Sookie and Debbie, this little exchange occurs:Sookie: Get out of my house, bitch!Debbie: Fuck you!
- Villains Want Mercy: Debbie begs Sookie for this after trying to kill Sookie with a shotgun, only failing because Tara pushes her out of the way getting shot in the process. Sookie does not give it to her and returns the favor instead.
- Violently Protective Girlfriend: Towards both Cooter and Alcide, although not necessarily in healthy ways.

Martha Bozeman
The mother of Marcus Bozeman and also a werewolf. She is powerful and respected within the werewolf pack of Shreveport, Louisiana due to her late son's position and that of her late husband, Marcus' father. She is also grandmother to Emma, Marcus and Luna's daughter.

- Idiot Ball : By all means, Martha. Insult the three-thousand year old vampire while you hold tightly to your were-pup granddaughter. I'm sure that'll turn out splendidly!
- I'm a Humanitarian: She's very strict on rules, and the rules say if the packmaster dies, the other weres have to change into wolves and eat the former packmaster's body.Sam: She just lost her only son.Luna: She just ate her only son.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She is hotblooded and can be bit of an asshole, as werewolves often are, but she genuinely loved her son and cares for her granddaughter.

Nate
A werewolf in the Shreveport pack. He was a loyal supporter of pack master Marcus Bozeman until his death and hoped to become an Alpha Male. He is led astray by new pack master JD Carson, working for the vampire Russell Edgington in exchange for his blood.

The leader of a biker gang called the Fuck You Crew, formed by werewolves serving Russell Edgington, an ancient vampire and the King of Mississippi. Like his fellow packmembers, Cooter was addicted to V which was regularly supplied to them by Edgington himself.

- Establishing Character Moment: Alcide meets Marcus when he shows up unannounced at his door, then tries to bully and intimidate him into joining his pack with veiled threats. Marchus later turns up the charm and tries to play it off as "alphaing him up a little too much," but before too long Alcide realizes his first impression of Marcus was the correct one.
- Fantastic Racism: Against shifters. This includes Luna, the mother of his daughter.
- Foil: to Alcide.
- Informed Ability: The closest he ever comes to using his powers onscreen is when his eyes briefly flash while angry.

- Replacement Goldfish: After kidnapping Emma, he tries to convince Debbie to run away with him so she can replace Luna as his mate (though they're already broken up as far as Luna's concerned) and Emma's mother. Then Sam and Alcide show up...

JD Carson
A werewolf who ran in the Shreveport pack under Marcus Bozeman. He is in a relationship with pack matriarch, and Marcus's mother, Martha Bozeman. There is tension between him and Alcide. After Marcus' death he becomes the pack master of Shreveport.

- The Aggressive Drug Dealer: He ends up force-feeding V to any pack members who won't take it willingly.
- Big Bad: Of Alcide's Season 5 story arc.
- Blood Knight: Even after Alcide forfeits the challenge, he wants to chase and kill some poor kid for the sheer sport of it.
- The Brute: To Russell.
- Dirty Coward: When JD and two other werewolves are guarding Russell at the insane asylum and Eric, Sookie, Bill, and Alcide show up, he attacks Alcide from behind, but flees the moment Eric and Bill are able to overpower and kill the other two wolves. Also, instead of fighting Alcide one-on-one during the packmaster challenge, he kidnaps a high school student, tells him to run, and says that the challenge will be to hunt the kid down and kill him in order to decide who becomes packmaster. Alicde is rightfully disgusted with this.
- Dirty Old Man: When Rikki tells Alcide about her and others being force fed V, he instinctively asks if that's all that happened, she replies for her, yes, but not for some of the younger females of the pack.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Downplayed. He tries to stop Russell from taking Emma. Doesn't work.

Melinda Mickens
Sam's biological mother, who gave him up for adoption. She is also the mother of Tommy, and the wife of Joe Lee. She is seen as a poor mother, who tries to use Sam to get things from him. She is a shifter, like her sons.

- Manipulative Bitch: She and Joe Lee have Tommy convinced that he's the only thing keeping them out of abject poverty...which they're kind of in already.
- Missing Mom: Was one to Sam.

Daphne Landry
A waitress at Merlotte's Bar and Grill who replaced the recently deceased Amy Burley. She was also a love interest of Sam Merlotte as well as a servant of the Maenad Maryann Forrester.

- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She appears to be a nice girl, albeit a bit ditzy, and she has a brief fling with Sam when he finds out she's a shapeshifter. Unfortunately, she's a servant of Maryann, and she leads Sam into a trap where Maryann plans to sacrifice him to her god.
- Dumb Blonde: Comes across as one early on.
- Honey Trap: See the Bitch in Sheep's Clothing entry. Sam knows Maryann is bad news, but has no idea that Daphne is associated with her until it's too late.
- The Mole: Should be obvious, given the rest of her tropes.
- Ms. Fanservice: Gets a few nude scenes, and even with the ugly scars on her back, she's very nice to look at.
- Obfuscating Clumsiness: She masquerades as an incompetent waitress, to make herself less threatening and facilitate the Honey Trap.

Crystal's brutal brother/cousin/fiancé, and a front-man in the Norris family drug business. He is violent and frequently beats Crystal when she strays from him.

- Abduction Is Love: What he does to Crystal.
- Arranged Marriage: Had one with Crystal and wants to keep it that way.
- Asshole Victim: Considering he was a violent V-addict who was abusive to everyone and anyone around him (see Hate Sink), nobody mourned when Jason killed him.

- Hate Sink: There isn't a single redeeming quality this guy has. He's racist, sexist, homophobic, abusive, violent, cruel, and also implied to be a rapist. No tears where shed when Jason jumped from a tree to stake him. Even Crystal was happy he was dead, and kicked his corpse for good measure.

Calvin Norris
The head of the inbred Norris clan, managing the family's drug business. He strongly opposes the budding relationship between his daughter, Crystal, and Jason Stackhouse, demanding that Crystal marry her brother/cousin Felton.

- Adaptational Villainy: In the books, he's the well-meaning patriarch of Hotshot whose a Nice Guy, and even becomes friends with Sookie. In the TV show, he's a violent meth addict who abuses his daughter and doesn't seem to care that much for his community.
- Abusive Parent: He hits his daughter and forces his children to marry each other.
- Arranged Marriage: Arranged one between his kids.
- Boom, Headshot!: He's shot in the head by Felton.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: Every little things seems to set this guy off.
- Jerkass: The best way to describe this character is he's basically an abusive asshole to everyone around him.

Timbo

- The Ingenue: She's a nervous teenager who has never had sex before, sympathizes with Jason rather than raping him like the rest of her clan, and is unable to convincingly lie to Felton afterward.
