Main Couple

    Camila Noceda

Camila Noceda

A single mother and veterinarian from Gravesfield, Connecticut.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Downplayed. In Chapter 16, her POV reveals that a major reason why she waited for Luz to come out about herself and Amity (despite how obvious their relationship was) was because she didn't want to risk a repeat of her own experience, confirming that she's bisexual. This was admittedly hinted at in canon by a bisexual pride magnet on the Noceda family fridge in "Yesterday's Lie" well before Luz came out in "Thanks to Them", though nothing was confirmed one way of the other for her. In short, she goes from Ambiguously Bi to explicitly bisexual.
  • Age Insecurity: When getting ready for her second date with "Lucius", she laments at her grey streaks and contemplates covering them up to look better for the event. After some thought (and the fact that she doesn't have time anyway), she decides to let her natural grey streaks show.
  • Animal Lover: As was the case in Canon, Camila is presented as an excellent veterinarian with a good rapport with her clients, their pets, and the staff at the clinic she works at. She even considers it a personal aspiration to one day have her own animal clinic and to help train new veterinarians.
  • Bad Liar: None of Camila's co-workers are convinced by the cover story she invents to explain away Collin's appearance. They let the oddness and Camilla's obvious lying about it slide though because she is normally very good at her job
  • Disowned Parent: Or "parents" in this case. Though not yet outright stated, Camila has indicated that she no longer likes to think about her parents and has even made unfavorable comparisons to what she's heard about "Lucius'" own life growing up. She, thankfully, is so far unaware of the true identity of her boyfriend's Father.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Camila is generally a very pleasant and loving person, but if someone's an asshole or threatens her loved ones, they're gonna regret it.
    • She has nothing but loathing for Jacob Hopkins and is even willing to allow Masha to beat the tar out of him provided she can set up an alibi in advance for them, Vee, and Luz. Even after Hopkins is pinned down, she has no issues hitting him with pepper spray just to shut him up.
    • While she suspects that Lucius is not being 100% truthful about himself, she realizes his feelings for her are genuine, and so is willing to tolerate his otherwise suspicious behavior. Despite this, she mentally notes that she's perfectly willing to beat him with la chancla if this suspicious behavior turns into a serious red flag.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: While never unattractive by any means, she prefers plainer clothes in her day-to-day life. When on dates with "Lucius", she tends to doll herself up to the point where she's practically a Silver Vixen, if her boyfriend's tongue-tied reaction in Chapter 21 is any indication.
    Lucifer Morningstar

Lucifer Morningstar/Lucius Magne

The depressed and divorced King of Hell.
  • Achievements in Ignorance: By publicly supporting both Stolas' relationship with Blitz and Asmodeus' with Fizz, he completely undercuts Stella's efforts to ruin Stolas in divorce court, and also upends the entire caste system of Hell, all by accident.
  • Adaptational Heroism: In keeping with the Hellaverse interpretation of his character, it turns out that the Biblical story of the Devil tempting Jesus in the desert was actually just Lucifer desperately trying to make a new friend, which Heaven warped in retellings to make him look bad.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: A small example, but he immediately realizes Vaggie's a Fallen Angel upon introduction. In the show proper, there's nothing to suggest he was aware of this fact at all before the finale.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: While a decent, loving father canonically, he was still highly neglectful of Charlie and didn't support her until she directly confronted him on how little he believed in her. Here, thanks to a combination of his budding romance with Camila bringing him out of his depression, coupled with being forced to see just how much his neglect and actions have hurt Charlie, he's able to start supporting his daughter much earlier. He still doesn't believe Sinners can change, but he pushes that aside for Charlie's sake.
  • The Atoner: After seeing how badly his neglect hurt Charlie, he strives to be a better father by being more involved in her life and as supportive of her ambitions as he can.
  • The Dreaded: He may be a goofy divorced dad, but he's still the King of Hell for a reason. According to Vaggie, all of Heaven is taught to fear the Morning Star, and Blitzo, who's notably willing to backtalk the other six of the Sins, is utterly scared shitless upon realizing that he and Loona are accidentally crashing his date with Camila.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • He's both horrified and enraged at the fact that IMP essentially work as assassins for hire that take commission from Sinners to kill the living. His horror is portrayed as being firmly of the moral kind instead of purely pragmatic, as he's utterly disgusted that the Sinners are able to use IMP's services in order to kill people with impunity.
    • Chapter 5 shows that he's not very fond of the classism amongst Hellborn perpetuated by the Goetia.
  • Expecting Someone Taller: Normally, when most think "King of Hell", they think larger than life and able to loom over everyone in the room. When people actually meet him, they're shocked to see that he's actually rather short. In addition, his status as Hell's ruler implies a certain menacing gravitas, and so people tend to think he's a more ruthless king, only for him to be a massive goofball when they actually meet.
  • Ignorant of Their Own Ignorance: Lucifer is convinced he's done a masterful job of pretending to be a successful human businessman. Unfortunately Lucifer knows so little about business that he's willing to take advice from Mammon. Mammon's first lesson in business? How to launder money. Lucifer doesn't bat an eye at this, not realizing money laundering is highly illegal in the human realm. Unbeknownst to him Vee and Luz have quickly realized he isn't human, though to his credit their theories as to his true nature are wildly off the mark.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Despite his friendship with the other Six Sins, Lucifer is shown to be desperate for companionship. His attempt to befriend Jesus in a flashback to the Temptation in the Desert indicates that the King of Hell is deeply afraid of being alone with his own thoughts to the point of being willing to bribe and even beg people into hanging out with him.
  • Nice Guy: He's very much this, which is contrasted with how terrified everyone in Hell is of him. Quite a few demons willing to approach him tend to be left utterly flatfooted by just how easygoing and friendly the King of Hell tends to be.
  • No Social Skills: Being the king of another dimension who rules through his sheer power compared to his subjects and a depressed shut-in for the past seven years, his abilities with socializing are notably lacking, which comes up in how awkward and nervous he gets while interacting with Camila.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws: Inverted. While Charlie and Vaggie aren't married, they're a loving couple whom Lucifer wholeheartedly supports the relationship of. However, while she tries to be civil, Vaggie makes it clear that she really doesn't like him. Much of this stems from her hatred of anyone who hurts her girlfriend, and Lucifer's neglect very much left its mark on Charlie. For his part, Lucifer's understanding of this, and even gives Vaggie the go-ahead to kill him should he hurt his daughter again.
  • One-Note Cook: Zigzagged. When it comes to Hell, he is knowledgeable enough to make a wide variety of dishes. For Earth dishes, the only thing he knows how to make is apple pie, as infernal foodstuffs will almost definitely cause a negative reaction to his date. He considers taking human cooking classes as a result.
  • Parental Neglect: Due to a combination of his cynicism and wallowing in depression, he hasn't been a very attentive father at all, barely knowing much about his daughter and what she's doing these days. After he starts coming out of his depression and is forced to see how much he accidentally hurt her, he starts trying to be more involved in her life.
  • Pet the Dog: As thanks for Loona saving Camila from Jacob, he repays her and Blitz by not arresting them for their illegal assassin business, and instead gives them the chance to work as Charlie's bodyguards.
  • Poor Communication Kills: This is a major problem in his efforts to repair his relationship with his daughter. He's aware that Charlie's unhappy about him moving on from Lilith and tries to avoid bringing Camila up in the hopes of easing the issue. However, while well-intentioned, it only makes things worse, since one of Charlie's problems is that she knows next to nothing about his new partner. As a result, she feels her father doesn't trust her, causing further alienation. It certainly isn't helped by how every news outlet in Hell paints the picture of a manipulative Gold Digger, enflaming her worries for him. Thankfully, she's able to confront him on this in Chapter 18, allowing him to genuinely open up about her.
  • Reluctant Ruler: He may be the King of Hell, but it's not really a position that he enjoys. If he wasn't bound to his kingdom and the Pride Ring by his screwup, he'd stay on Earth with Camila forever. To his credit, he's at least trying to do a better job now that his depression is lifting.
  • Secret Identity: While on Earth, he goes by the alias "Lucius Magne" to hide the fact that he's the original fallen angel.
  • Uptown Girl: Gender-inverted. He's the king of another dimension and the wealthiest being there, so much so that he can casually pull gold bars out of nowhere, while Camila's a suburban woman who, while not poor by any means, is obviously nowhere near those levels of well off.

Hell

The Happy Hotel

Staff

    Charlie Morningstar

Charolette "Charlie" Morningstar

The kind, loving Princess of Hell, as well as the host for the Happy Hotel to redeem Sinners.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Downplayed. Though still the same All-Loving Heroine she's always been, she does not take the news that Lucifer has started dating Camila well at all, due in no small part to her desire to see her father reconnect and reconcile with her mother, Lilith Morningstar, and having found out about the relationship in one of the worst ways possible (on live TV no less). As a result, she winds up thinking the worst of Camila, seeing her as either a Gold Digger or having some form of malicious intent. This leads to her internally Slut-Shaming Camila in a moment of weakness and sending Dazzle to monitor her and Lucifer's date. Unlike most examples, Charlie herself is aware of this, and isn't proud of it.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While certainly a total sweetheart, she finally hits a Rage Breaking Point when told that her father is missing, and it's enough to terrify the other six members of the Seven Deadly Sins. Apparently, she shook Asmodeus, who is several times her size, back and forth like a rag doll in worry and anger if 666 News can be trusted (Charlie lamenting that they managed to get a snapshot of that moment implies its accuracy).
  • Big Sister Instinct: Charlie cares deeply for her two goat servants, Razzle and Dazzle, and very much treats them like her own little siblings. It's actually to the point that Dazzle's internal narration exclusively refers to Charlie as "Big Sis". When Dazzle has been gone for a while to spy on Lucifer's date, Charlie is left terrified that she'd inadvertently sent him into danger despite his powers and is overjoyed when he comes back unharmed.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She's got some serious reservations about Lucifer and Camila's relationship despite her best efforts to try and be supportive, even sending Dazzle to monitor the date. However, she absolutely refuses to entertain the idea of sabotaging the relationship, and orders Dazzle to not interfere with their date in any way.
  • Extremely Protective Child: Even with all their problems, she still loves her father and is highly protective of him. When she learned he was missing, she went on the warpath to find him and almost burned down the entire Royal Goetia Convocation at their refusal to support her search, only stopping thanks to Stolas. And while certainly not her only issue with it, part of why she's so concerned about her father's relationship with Camila is that she doesn't know whether or not she has any ill intent towards him.
  • Foil: To Luz. As the All-Loving Heroine of her series who hasn't yet experienced her own story or her Character Development. Charlie's relationship with her father has only just started to be mended, with the truth about her dad dating again being dropped on her at the worst possible time. As a result of knowing so little about the relationship beyond its existence, Charlie's mixed feelings and concerns are eating away at her, despite her outward attempts at being positive, much to her own guilt.
  • Jerkass to One: Downplayed since it's internalized. While normally a sweet-natured young woman who tries to see the best in everyone, Camila's a bit of a blind spot for her due to the woman being her father's new paramour. As a result of her having wanted Lucifer and Lilith to reconcile, her thoughts become a lot ruder when it comes to Camila, seeing/expecting the worst even when she has yet to meet her. To Charlie's credit, she's completely aware of this and tries her best not to feel this way, but she can't help it and hates herself for doing so.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: In regard to Camila, Charlie hardly knows anything, and a lot of that stems from Lucifer's refusal to tell her about his new girlfriend. While his reasoning for keeping her out of the loop is because he doesn't want to make her uncomfortable with the fact that he's moving on from Lilith, it winds up leaving her feeling even more alienated and worried about the situation. As she tells her father in Chapter 18, she just wants her father to trust her with the truth.
  • Loved by All: Zig-zagged. On the one hand, she's widely disliked by Sinners and the average Hellborn as a result of her optimistic worldview and pacifistic nature. However, she's well-loved and adored among the Seven Deadly Sins, being considered a lovable niece to the other six, including Mammon!
  • Obviously Not Fine: She actively claims to be totally fine with the fact that her father's moving on from Lilith, but both Vaggie and Lucifer can tell that she's just putting up a front and is most certainly not okay with it.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Normally, she's boundlessly kind and always willing to see the best in everyone regardless of what they've done in the past, even after having witnessed them make terrible decisions over again. It says quite a bit on how bad she's taking her father moving on from Lilith (and the circumstances surrounding her learning it) that she goes against her usual nature and starts assuming the worst from Camila before she even meets her. She's painfully aware of the cognitive dissonance, however, and tries to force it down, though the results are a bit mixed.
  • Poke the Poodle: Despite her complicated feelings about her father's new relationship with Camila, her internal slut shaming towards Camila consists of incredibly tame language that nevertheless leave her feeling guilty. And even her order for Dazzle to spy on her father's date with Camila, which she soon after lets out an Un Evil Laugh over, is not much more malicious in action or intent from what Luz and Vee's own efforts to spy on the date, even ordering him not to interfere.
  • Stepford Smiler: While she tries to put up her usual, cheerful, smiling persona when Lucifer stops by to borrow the Family Limo for his date with Camila, both he and Vaggie are able to tell how forced the facade is. Her smile is even noted as being oddly manic, shifting between grinning and grimacing.
  • Stronger Than They Look: On her own, while tall by human standards, she's rather skinny and doesn't stand out as very intimidating compared to demons in Hell who can tower over her and look twice as menacing. However, she's still the Princess of Hell and packs a bigger punch than her appearance suggests, as evident by her having manhandled Asmodeus (one of the Seven Deadly Sins and several times her size) during her Anger Born of Worry.
  • Un Evil Laugh: She certainly attempts an Evil Laugh for her plans regarding her father's second date with Camila, but as Vaggie notes, the effort comes off as more adorable than menacing, and Vaggie can't resist the urge to boop her nose at the sight.
    Vaggie

Vaggie

A fallen angel and former Exorcist, as well as Charlie's girlfriend.
  • Lady in a Power Suit: In Chapter 3, she wears a notably form-fitting smart suit during Charlie's coronation, helping signify her position as the princess's protector and closest confidant.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite her stoic, grouchy demeanor, she has a genuine love for cute animals. When she first sees Angel Dust's pig, Fat Nuggets, it takes every ounce of willpower she has not to gush over how cute he is.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: As ever, and it's to the point where she's willing to throw down with Lucifer for how his past neglect hurt Charlie, despite knowing that the King of Hell could atomize her with a glance. Lucifer genuinely admires Vaggie for this, being happy that his daughter has someone who will fight tooth and nail for her, angel or otherwise.
    Razzle and Dazzle

Razzle and Dazzle

Charlie's butlers and personal bodyguards, who were given to her by her father.
  • Big Sister Worship: Their POVs show that they refer to Charlie as "Big Sis", and they're both highly devoted to her.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Dazzle mentally calls Luz, Vee, and Masha a bunch of freaks for spying on Lucifer and Camila's date...while doing the same thing himself on Charlie's behalf.
  • The Rival: During the events of Lucifer and Camila's second date, Dazzle develops a fierce rivalry with Stringbean when the latter gets in the way of his spying.
  • Stronger Than They Look: They look like tiny, cute little flying goat creatures, but not only can they turn into building-sized dragons, they're also immensely strong outside of that. During Chapter 19, when moving IMP's equipment out of the building, they were notably carrying massive loads that even an entire team of strongmen would've barely managed to move. And all without any apparent effort either.
  • The Unintelligible: Razzle and Dazzle, rather fittingly, can only speak in baas, but perhaps more bafflingly, "baa" is the only word that Dazzle seems to be able to write as well as seen with his report on Lucifer's second date with Camilla.
    Blitzø Buckzo

Blitzø Buckzo (formerly Blitzo Buckzo)

Formerly the head of IMP (Immediate Murder Professionals), now forced to serve the Happy Hotel under Lucifer's orders.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He's an Ax-Crazy, amoral assassin-for-hire, but he does have a few people he genuinely cares for.
    • He loves his daughter more than anything, even lying to Lucifer about her involvement in IMP's business in the hope that he'd spare her. He also made it a point to prevent Lucifer from learning about Moxxie and Millie to help them avoid potential punishment.
    • When Lucifer notes IMP's travel to human world via a Goetia Grimoire while annunciating their List of Transgressions, he quickly and loudly affirms that he "stole" the grimoire, very clearly wanting to protect Stolas from Lucifer's wrath.
  • Nominal Hero: He's working for the Happy Hotel, which has noble goals in mind regarding the redemption of Sinners and saving Hell, but he's only there because Lucifer's forcing him and his employees to do so or else be taken to task for his illegal assassination business.
  • Scars Are Forever: The white patches on his skin are actually healed burn scars that have persisted since his teenage years. They even carry over to his human disguise.
  • Self-Serving Memory: When recounting how he ended up working at the Hotel, he presents as gallantly riding in on a steed and getting the job handed to him by a fangirling Charlie. Loona then clarifies that he actually threw himself at Charlie's feet and begged for a job to avoid homelessness.
  • Tsundere: Played for Drama regarding his relationship with Stolas. Several times his own POV have flattering descriptions of the Goetia crossed out and replaced with insulting ones, and it's made clear that his complete denial about the nature of his feelings for the man (even to himself) are a response to the incident at Ozzie's. After the two reconcile, he admits he was more or less sabotaging the relationship for fear of being hurt.
    Loona

Loona

Blitz's surly, adoptive hellhound daughter.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: She often tries, with limited success, to reign in her adoptive father's antics. For instance, she gave him a speech to use when applying for a job at the Hotel, only for him to toss it aside.
  • Furry Reminder: Even in human disguise, she lets out dog-like whining whenever terrified, such as when Lucifer's glaring at her and Blitz.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: All and all, she's not the nicest person even outside the fact that she's part of an assassin company, tending to be surly, rude, and moody as all Hell. But she does genuinely care about those in her life, even if she isn't the best at showing it, and has more heroic instincts than she lets on, such as immediately jumping in to save Camila from Jacob when he attacked.
  • Leave the Two Lovebirds Alone: Subtly does this with Octavia so Blitz and Stolas have a chance to talk things out.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: While her human disguise makes her look fully human, Lucifer is rather dismissive of her clothing choices in regard to keeping a low profile, namely the pentagram on her clothes.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Declines Stolas' offer to house the moving group for the night since he and Blitz will be under one roof after undergoing a proper Relationship Upgrade. Vaggie and Octavia request to join her.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: She's the serious child to Blitz' wacky parent, often having to play The Straight Man and keep him from being so...well, Blitz.

Guests

    Angel Dust

Angel Dust

A sassy, promiscuous porn star who becomes the first patron of the hotel.
  • Big "NO!": Lets a terrified one out when Charlie innocently offers to allow "Val" to visit Angel at the Hotel if he so desired, making it clear how much he fears his boss and is trying to escape him.

The Seven Deadly Sins

    In General
  • Adaptation Species Change: In the Hellaverse, the other six of the Seven Deadly Sins have no indication of having been anything other than extremely powerful demons that became the highest in Hell's hierarchy. Here, they're stated to be fallen angels like Lucifer, albeit of lesser rank than the fallen Seraphim.
  • Cool Uncle: Mixed with cool aunt for Bee and Belphagor, but they function as Charlie's honorary uncles and aunts. For all their squabbles, the one consistency they share is their genuine love for her.
  • Criminal Found Family: They're all fallen angels who became rulers of the 7 Rings of Hell, and, even with their many personality quirks, they hold absolute loyalty to Lucifer and Charlie. When everyone in Heaven turned their back on Lucifer after his fall due to the Eden incident, the six soon-to-be Sins didn't waver and proved themselves to be True Companions to the fallen Seraphim. Over ten millennia later, they're all honorary uncles and aunts for Charlie, with Lucifer treating them like unruly, but loved, younger siblings.
  • Honorary Uncle: None of them are biologically related to Lucifer, being former angels that stood by and fell alongside him, but they do look out for the Morningstar family and, as such, all are considered this to Charlie.
    Asmodeus

Asmodeus / "Ozzie"

The Sin of Lust and ruler of the Lust Ring.
  • Naked Apron: In Chapter 5, we're introduced to him cooking a meal in bed for him and his boyfriend, Fizz. If Lucifer's freaked out reaction of yelling at him to put some pants on is any indication, that's all he was wearing at the time.
  • Romantic Wingman: Provides Lucifer with advice about asking Camila out on a second date.
  • Squee: He and Fizz are delighted when Lucifer clarifies he is there for relationship advice.
    Mammon

Mammon

The Sin of Greed and ruler of the Greed Ring.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Downplayed. He's still a complete and utter jackass, but he's given a couple Pet the Dog moments regarding his efforts to try and help Lucifer out of his depression alongside the rest of the Sins, and he does have a soft spot for his niece, Charlie.
  • Enlightened Self-Interest: He's Charlie's biggest financial supporter of the hotel. Not because he actually believes redemption is possible for sinners (he doesn't) or that he likes Charlie (though he does), but because he sees the potential of a blossoming industry with hotel chains and merchandising in the premise.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He's an unrepentant, greedy jackass through and through, but his fondness for Charlie is 100% genuine, to the point that he privately admits to himself that he would have designed Loo Loo Land very differently had he known Lu Lu World was a gift for her. He rationalizes his unusual generosity and soft spot for her as being in awe in his niece's unsurpassed Want to bring paradise to Hell of all places.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He knowingly ripped off Lucifer's theme park to make his own as a quick cash grab, but admits that had he been aware at the time that Lucifer's was built specifically for Charlie, he would have reconsidered doing so.
  • Evil Uncle: Downplayed. Yes, he's the vilest of the Seven Deadly Sins and is Charlie's Honorary Uncle, but he's uncharacteristically generous with her on a level that he isn't with anyone else and is shown to sincerely care for his niece. He also doesn't actively oppose her like a straightforward example of this trope and is actually somewhat helpful, having given her the seed money needed to help her get started with her hotel.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: For a given level of the word, hero. In spite of his self-admitted fondness for Charlie, his non-chalant and ill-concieved response to her father's disappearance escalated the situation to the point where a very worried Charlie was simultaneously experiencing her recently missing father's funeral and her own impromptu coronation. Oh, and he was blaming Beelzebub for Lucifer's death, causing riots in the streets of Gluttony.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: He's very disapproving of Hell's attempts at creating equity and equality for imps and hellhounds because he's worried it will make his own underlings harder to exploit.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: He doesn't want Crimson to kill Moxxie, not out of any moral qualms, but because with no other children the crime lord's empire will be leaderless when he dies, and with Fizz gone Mammon doesn't want to lose any more sources of income (since all the groups in Greed give Mammon a cut of their profits).
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Mammon isn't deliberately trying to sabotage Lucifer, but the advice the Sin of Greed gives to the King of Hell ends up causing no end of trouble. Lucifer ends up badly botching his attempt to befriend Jesus in a flashback to the Temptation in the Desert because he took Mammon's advice that the best way to make friends was to bribe them. This made Lucifer look desperate and shallow.
    Beelzebub

Bee-Lzebub

The Sin of Gluttony and ruler of the Gluttony Ring.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: During Chapter 3, she blurts out loud that Lucifer slept with someone, not only making his rekindled romantic life public for all of Hell to gossip over, but also causing Charlie to learn about it in the worst way possible and further contributing to her niece's ensuing breakdown.

The Goetia

    In General

The Goetia

  • Decadent Court: The Royal Convocation of the Ars Goetia can best be described as a glitzy den of thieves in which the 72 families that form Hell's aristocracy squabble, fight, and plot against one another, often in a violent manner.
  • It's All About Me:
  • Not-So-Omniscient Council of Bickering: Anything short of outright murder is considered acceptable when it comes to these guys. While the presence of Lucifer after seven years of him being almost entirely absent keeps the worst of it contained, not even that can fully stop the bickering, like when the old argument of what to do with the estate of Malphas comes up again.
  • Upper-Class Twit: The Goetia embody every negative stereotype one can think up of the aristocracy; they're arrogant, petty, snobbish, cruel, entitled, and self-centered to the point of sociopathy. The mere act of Lucifer legitimizing the relationship between Fizz and Asmodeus sends the Ars Goetia into a full-blown panic attack at the notion that lower class demons like imps will start getting 'ideas'.
     Stolas

Stolas

An owl demon and prince of the Ars Goetia.
  • All for Nothing: His efforts to retrieve an Asmodian Crystal for Blitz to use in IMP's business, thus removing their reliance on his grimoire and amending the power balance between them, gets rendered completely moot since Lucifer shuts them down right before he gives it to them.
  • Nice to the Waiter: He's taking steps to be more respectful to the lower classes in his efforts to mend his and Blitz's relationship. When he meets Vaggie at IMP's former office, he's nothing but respectful despite her status as a Sinner demon (she's a Fallen Angel, but no one knows that).
  • Only Sane Man: He's the only member of the Goetia who seemed to remember (and care for that matter) that Lucifer was Charlie’s father and recognized that she was on the verge of a breakdown. As a result, he's the only one to pledge his house's support in finding Lucifer without the condition of Charlie's coronation.
  • Pet the Dog: He has every reason to despise Stella for what she put him through, but even so, when he finally has the shoe on the other foot, he makes no effort to push her out of their daughter's life, recognizing that for all the Hell she gave him, she never laid so much as a hand on Octavia.
  • Token Good Teammate: Among the Goetic aristocracy, he's notably the only one who isn't either a raging asshole or an entitled snob. Aside from being the only one to actually try and help Charlie in searching for Lucifer, he's also a loving father, Nice to the Waiter, and overall polite in his interactions with everyone barring Stella (for understandable reasons).

Heaven

Leadership

    Emily

Emily

The Seraphim in charge of bringing joy to the denizens of Heaven, as well as the founder of CHERUB.
  • Benevolent Boss: She's the founder of CHERUB, and given how the exiled Cletus, Collin, and Keenie still think highly of her even after everything that happened to them, it's heavily implied that she's a very sweet-natured boss to her employees.
  • The Ghost: She's frequently mentioned and talked about by the exiled cherubs, but she has yet to make any appearances.
  • Red Baron: Due to the fact that her job in Heaven's hierarchy is to bring joy and happiness to its people, she's known amongst them and Winners alike as "The Joybringer". This makes her similar to Lucifer, who also bears the epitaph of "The Lightbringer".

CHERUB

    Cletus, Collin, and Keenie

Cletus, Collin, and Keenie

A trio of exiled cherubs, trapped on Earth after a job gone wrong.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: While not actively malicious, the three cherubs suffer from this to varying degrees; rationalizing and downplaying their own flaws while blaming others solely for the problems they encounter in their time on Earth. That they only want to protect Camila due to their belief that she's their best shot at getting back into Heaven highlights their self-centered nature.
  • Dumpster Dive: They've been reduced to doing this after being kicked out of Heaven in order to find food.
  • Enlightened Self-Interest: The main reason they want to protect Camilia is that they think she's their best shot at getting back into Heaven instead of caring for her wellbeing.
  • True Companions: While the three bicker with one another, Collin explicitly considers Cletus and Keenie to be his best friends. Cletus also expresses genuine concern for Collin when he learns that Collin was mauled by a pack of racoons.

Earth

Gravesfield

    Vee Noceda

Vee Noceda

Camila's adopted daughter, secretly a Basilisk who moved to the Human Realm to escape the late Emperor Belos.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Despite being a magic-eating shapeshifter from another dimension, Vee doesn't believe in aliens. When Luz calls her out on this, Vee comments that magic has proof of its existence, but aliens don't.
    Masha

Masha

One of Vee's first friends from Reality Check Camp and significant other.
  • Accidental Proposal: They wind up doing this with Vee by way of giving her their old earrings, as on the Boiling Isles, couples show that they're going steady by gifting a piece of their jewelry to their partner. They even lampshade this trope, with Vee saying they can't take it back.
  • Only Sane Man: Among the trio of themself, Vee, and Luz, they're only one to think that maybe they shouldn't spy on Camila's date while the other two just stare in confusion at the very notion.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Nonbinary example. Upon hearing about how Jacob almost dissected Vee, they nearly go after him. They're only talked down when Camilla points out that they'd get arrested for assault (and also when Camilla promises to provide an alibi if they want to wait to do it later).
    Jacob Hopkins

Jacob Hopkins

Gravesfield's local conspiracy theorist, who unfortunately stumbled onto Vee and the Noceda family's connection to real magic and demons and has been an annoyance to them since.
  • Bullying a Dragon: He tries to go after Lucifer even after hearing that he's the King of Hell and sees him casually fry his phone. He doesn't even manage to get to either him or Camila before Loona intervenes. And even before that, he thinks that he can force said King of Hell and a demonic assassin to let him dissect them simply by using recorded evidence.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Jacob is so worked up by Lucifer melting his phone, destroying the video evidence he had gathered of Lucifer's demonic nature, along with no one taking his claims seriously, that he returns to the cafe with a knife after the owner kicked him out, and tries to stab Camila, assuming she is part of some malevolent conspiracy. He winds up getting tackled, sprayed with mace, and arrested. Frankly, the man is lucky Lucifer didn't swat him like a bug.
  • Hated by All: Besides the Nocedas and Masha rightfully hating him for what he tried to do to Vee, no one in town seems to actually like him because he's an obnoxious, self-righteous Conspiracy Theorist who's harassed the Nocedas for years.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While he's completely off the mark about most of his theories and his attack on Camila is inexcusable, Jacob's concern about Blitz is somewhat reasonable, as even Lucifer was appalled by IMP's contract killings of living humans on the behalf of Sinners.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Jacob, upon seeing Lucifer and Blitz out of their human disguises and overhearing that they are the King of Demons and a Demon assassin, respectively, seriously thinks he can blackmail the two of them. He also thought he could get away with attacking people in a cafe with a knife. Needless to say, Lucifer effortlessly destroys the paltry evidence Jacob collected on his phone, comes up with an easy alibi that fools everyone, and Jacob winds up in the back of a squad car after getting caught in an arm bar and maced.

The Boiling Isles

The Hexsquad

    Luz Noceda

Luz Noceda

A human witch and Camila's daughter, who studies at the University of Wild Magic.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She adores and is very protective of her adoptive sister, Vee. A major reason for her hatred towards Jacob Hopkins is because he tried to dissect Vee years back. As she puts it:
    Luz: Noceda sisters stick together!
  • Crazy-Prepared: Living on the Boiling Isles has trained her to prepare for every possibility that she can think of. This comes into play for Camila's second date with "Lucius Magne", with Luz, Vee, and Masha coming up for plans if he's a vampire, a werewolf, an alien, in the Illuminati, or a demon.
  • Even the Loving Hero Has Hated Ones: She's one of the nicest people you'll meet and treats everyone fairly, but she absolutely loathes Jacob Hopkins. Considering he tried to dissect Vee in the past, coupled with him having harassed her family for years and attacked her mother with a knife, that hatred is very justified.
  • Extremely Protective Child: She very much thinks the world of her mother, Camila, and will do anything to help protect her. The main reason why she spies on her mother's date with Lucius is to make sure he's not gonna hurt her, and she almost pummels Jacob Hopkins just for being near her mother (which is understandable given how often he'd harassed the Nocedas over the years).
  • Foil: To Charlie. Though similarly an All-Loving Heroine, Luz has completed her own story and Character Development. While her relationship with her mother was tumultuous in the past due to misunderstandings, they've long since mended their issues, with her learning about Camila's reignited love life at a good time and with proper support. As a result, she's initially far more supportive of Camila and Lucius/Lucifer's romance, despite having concerns of her own. Unfortunately, her ability to learn more about her mother's boyfriend and him obviously not being normal is causing her own doubts to develop.
  • Hereditary Homosexuality: She's bisexual, and as revealed in Chapter 16, so is her mother.
  • Hero of Another Story: It's made clear that she's been going on an entirely new litany of adventures between the end of The Owl House and the story. While it's not shown what those adventures entailed, she has been exploring the isles a lot and gotten into plenty of sword fights. Alongside the rest of the Hexsquad, she's also taken many "academic trips" to explore lost, uncharted Titans.
  • Transparent Closet: Though she initially hid her sexuality from her mother, Camila notes that she knew Luz was bi long before her PowerPoint presentation where she came out, mainly due to her and Amity's Sickeningly Sweethearts behavior. Camile simply pretended not to know until Luz was ready to tell her herself, not wanting Luz to have a repeat of her own experience.
    Amity Blight

Amity Blight

Luz's awesome girlfriend, as well as the CEO of Blight Industries, who spends her days as both adventurer and associate of the Boiling Isles Natural History Museum.
  • Adventurer Archaeologist: This is pretty much her job. Between finding artifacts of lost civilizations, discovering uncharted Titans, battling countless foes along the way, and her wealthy background, she's pretty much the Boiling Isles' answer to Lara Croft.
  • Hero of Another Story: More so than anyone else on the Hexsquad, as unlike them, going on frequent, unseen adventures is practically her job. She's explored dozens of new, uncharted Titans by herself, having done battle against Titan Trappers and Graverobbers in her quests to find the remnants of lost civilizations.
  • Three-Point Landing: She makes a point of doing this as often as possible because of how much Luz enjoys watching her doing it. Though it gets deconstructed a bit, as she notes how hard it is on her knees and back.
    Willow Park

Willow Park

    Hunter

Hunter

A Grimwalker and the former right hand of the late Emperor Belos.
  • Fantastic Racism: Downplayed. Hunter privately admits that he (and the rest of the Hexsquad) are developing a far more negative view of Humanity (aside from Luz, Camila and Masha), the more they learn about Luz's previous social life. Nothing that crosses into outright bigotry, but it is clear that they are beginning to view their human friends as the exception rather than the rule.
  • Like Brother and Sister: This is his dynamic with Luz, as he cares for, yet gets annoyed by her, in very much the same manner as you'd expect an older brother to. In Chapter 12, his POV shows that he even thinks of Luz as his sister in all but blood.
    Gus Porter

Augustus "Gus" Porter

Republic of the Isles

    Raine Clawthorne

Sovereign Raine Clawthorne (nee Whispers)

The primary head of the Boiling Isles and Eda's spouse.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: They desperately beg for something, anything, to get them out of the obnoxious council meeting in Chapter 20. Cue Eda storming the place to kidnap them for a date.
  • Foil: Raine serves as a foil for Lucifer. Both are passionate musicians and both act as a Reluctant Ruler compelled to deal with their respective Not-So-Omniscient Council of Bickering and the inane politicking that comes with governing a large supernatural community. Raine, however is a democratically elected leader who is attempting to mold their position as Just the First Citizen and avoid acting like a tyrant. As such, they are respected, but regularly challenged by the members of the Republic Council. Lucifer, by contrast, is deeply feared by the Royal Convocation and is more than willing to throw his weight around, such as his unilateral decree of support for Fizz and Asmodeus. The Council of the Republic of the Isles is democratically elected, and while the Councilors argue about petty issues like the Republic's flag, said arguments are developed in a manner that implies the Councilors don't want a repeat of Belos's tyranny, further implying that they wish to build a free society for their constituents. The Royal Convocation of the Ars Goetia is an assemblage of Hell's aristocrats who explicitly don't care for anyone but themselves and argue amongst one another solely to enhance their own power and wealth. Furthermore, Raine presides over a Council that, while argumentative, is largely peaceful. By contrast the Royal Convocation of the Ars Goetia regularly descends into violence. Raine is well aware of the challenges they face as a leader when dealing with the Council, while Lucifer's comparative detachment from ruling leads him to be surprised at just how chaotic the Royal Convocation can get and how deeply opposed the Ars Goetia are to the fallout of Lucifer's decree.
  • Happily Married: By the time the story starts, they've long since gotten married to Eda. While exasperated by her...less than legal antics, it's made clear that they absolutely adore their wife.
  • Just the First Citizen: Inverted, in that they're granted the title of Sovereign after being elected leader of the new Boiling Isles government, but they work very hard to not be more than just a first among equals.
  • Reluctant Ruler: It's made clear that they really don't like being in charge of the Boiling Isles. The only reason they took the job in the first place was to prevent someone far worse (Terra Snapdragon) or one of Belos' remaining loyalists (Adrian Graye) from taking over.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Is exasperated by the constant arguments that arise during council meetings, especially since accusations of slipping back to Belos' days of tyranny are brought up over refusing to change the flag. Again.

University of Wild Magic

    Eda Clawthorne

Headmistress Edalyn "Eda" Clawthorne / The Owl Lady

Formerly the most wanted criminal on the Boiling Isles, now the Headmistress of the University of Wild magic, as well as Luz's mentor.
  • Became Their Own Antithesis: Played for Laughs. She went from a rebel against authority who scorned the education system to a (mostly) responsible adult who runs her own school. Naturally, she bemoans how her child self would react to who she became.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: Especially when she's had her Apple Blood. She apparently drunkenly blurted out Amity's plans to propose to Luz at a meeting, much to the Blight's dismay.
  • Happily Married: In the years since Belos' fall, she's gotten married to Raine Whispers, and the two live a blissful, happy life together.
  • The Hedonist: She self-admits that this is what resignation towards her curse turned her into. It was only after she adopted King and later picked up Luz as an apprentice that she began to see beyond her own shallow self-interest again.
  • Likes Older Men: She admits that as far as her taste in men goes, she's got a thing for those many years her senior. She even references one such example with her short-lived marriage to Stan Pines.

Other

    King

King Clawthorne

The last known living Titan and the adoptive son of Eda and Raine.
