  • Theme Songs: Boys Flying, Boys' Section Final Match
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good (Trunks) and Neutral Good (Goten)

  • Enemies: Majin Buu, Broly, Zamasu, Frieza, Dark Danny
  • Friendly Enemy: The Ginyu Force
  • Opposes: Beerus
  • Trunks' Alternate Timeline Counterpart: Future Trunks
  • Following the defeat of Perfect Cell at the hands of Son Gohan, the Earth entered a period of peace and with that period a new generation of warriors were born. Trunks was born after a one night stand between Bulma and Vegeta, but fortunately for him his parents got married afterwards, while Goten was the second child of Son Goku and Chi-Chi, but unfortunately his father died in an attempt to stop Cell from blowing up the Earth and so during his early years he never actually met his father. The two grew up to become inseparable and both being half-Saiyans and quite the prodigies for their age, managed to become Super Saiyan at the ages of 8 and 7 respectively.
  • In the past, Trunks used to be sole holder of a temple in the Pantheon, but after Goten was insistent on wanting to be in the Pantheon, not to mention the numerous problems the two boys caused because of their mischief, the court decided to relocate Trunks and allow Goten to be his co-deity. Both were excited when they heard the news and Goten was warmly received by his family and friends.
    • Another positive side effect of their new shared temple and Goten's ascension is that the boys no longer need to use Aghanim's Scepter to fuse into Gotenks in the Pantheon.
  • Their relationship has a certain dynamic. Trunks is the arrogant and outspoken of the two, often being the one that decides what the two would get up to, while Goten is more laid back and nicer compared to Trunks but he is also very mischievous. Goten also happens to resemble his father Goku a lot in both attitude and looks when he was a child, adding to the coincidence surrounding his birth taking place after Goku's sacrifice.
  • These two are notable among the Saiyans from their group for managing to achieve the Super Saiyan transformation at such a young age, something that was totally different for their predecessors. They claim that they transformed one day just like that and didn't go through the emotional grief that the likes of Goku or the Future version of Trunks went through.
  • During the battle against Majin Buu, Trunks and Goten were taught the Fusion Dance, allowing them to become the hero Gotenks. While incredibly powerful, Gotenks has one massive Fatal Flaw: his incredible cockiness and idiocy, resulting in Buu's smarter "Super Buu" form kicking his ass and causing the deaths of many of their friends and peers, including their respective families. The half-Saiyan children ended up becoming rivals of Domon and Master Asia for this reason, as well as drawing the attention of Boros, who is intrigued by their potential.
  • Their relationship with Fat Buu was shaky at first but later he became a Friendly Rival to them, helped by the fact that Buu is even more childish than them. They haven't forgotten the fight where he kicked their butts as Gotenks (Admittedly, they were arrogant enough to believe that Super Saiyan wasn't needed to fight Buu) and they want to get back at Buu, even if they are being playful about it. On the other hand, the pure Majin Buu is someone they detest, not only for causing their deaths and destroying the Earth, but also for the unrepenting monster he is.
  • Another rival of theirs, even if a bit one-sided on their part, is Android 18. They fought against Krillin's wife in the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament under the guise of Mighty Mask but she ended up exposing them and ultimately getting them disqualified and since then they have been eager for a rematch now that they have mastered the Fusion Dance. At first, Android 18 brushed them off as unruly brats but she warmed up to them overtime, mostly because they are good friends of her daughter Marron and she appreciates that. Her brother Android 17 on the hand is friendly towards Goten and Trunks after they did an outstanding job at taking care of his island when he was absent and considers them honorary park rangers.
  • One day roaming the House of Heroism, the duo stumbled upon Steven Universe who was very friendly towards them. He heard about their powerful Fusion Dance and said that he and the Crystal Gems were also able to fuse, something that caught the attention of the boys. Of the Crystal Gems, Garnet was the most interested in seeing Gotenks, considering that fusion means a lot to her, but was dumbfounded when she saw the expects necessary to perform a fusion in Goten and Trunks' world. The boys have remained friends with them ever since, both even interested in aiding them in a future mission.
  • Broly hates both of them almost as much as Goku; Trunks for for pissing on him and Goten because he looks exactly like his father. Trunks didn't take much notice, but after finding this out likes to taunt Broly about it and Goten still doesn't know what a Kakarot is. Their constant taunting of Broly only gets them in even more trouble, and even fusing only slowed down Broly until their friends had to step in. Their parents promptly grounded them after that.
    • When Frieza returned to the mortal plane, a lot of people were worried about the boys' safety. To a number of people's surprise, Frieza was notably restrained, with his cruelty focused on Gohan. Frieza doesn't pay too much attention to them, seeing as he is more focused on one-upping Goku, but he has considered going after his and Vegeta's sons after he is done.
  • Trunks has for the longest time been aware of an alternate counterpart from a future where Android 17 and Android 18 destroyed human society and almost brought humanity to extinction. Said Trunks never had a meaningful interaction with his present self until he returned after the appearance of the enigmatic Goku Black. Initially, Future Trunks brushed him off as a spoiled brat but then later both started to bond and understand each other throughout the conflict with Black, and in the end Present Trunks became a huge supporter of his alternate self. He also finds his sword super cool and wonders if his friend Tapion has something to do with it.
    • Considering the drastic changes in timeline and Future Trunks' heavy involvement in keeping order, the younger Trunks has been targeted by a few deities that have run into his older self and even some other counterparts for other deities. Dark Danny was one of those and that creeps out Trunks, making him glad that his future self is heroic, which ended up making him and Goten bond with Danny Phantom.
    • In relation to this, they do not have their teenage forms in the Pantheon. While GT still exists in their minds, the Pantheonic Time Police considers it a temporal anomaly if Trunks were to show up in his GT age. It's more likely that they just don't want to confuse him for their Trunks.
  • While nominally enemies, they find the Ginyu Force poses super cool and enjoy their antics. Ginyu believes that they lack style and substance due to their age and inexperience, but they have the right mindset, attitude and room to grow. Of course, professionally, he has to consider them enemies. Also Trunks has a sort of crush on Pilaf Gang member Mai and by proxy, he is still attracted to someone similar — Jessie of Team Rocket. Jessie has not returned his affections, and has commented that she likes Future Trunks more. It's unknown whether Jessie was serious or did it to annoy the Trunks, but either way it's created tension between his counterpart. Goten never lets Trunks hear the end of it.
  • Goten adores his older brother Gohan, much so that he wants to be as cool as him when he grows up. Although he did outgrow the Great Saiyaman phase already and considers it a bit ridiculous nowadays. Goten eventually bonded with other people that similarly look up to their older siblings, Mokuba Kaiba being one of them, who is similar to Trunks in personality.
  • Trunks also has a good relationship with some of his parents' other allies, such as Power Girl, who his father considers a worthy "honorary Saiyan" candidate, and Winry Rockbell, a scientist friend of his mother.

  • Alignment: Lawful Good and Neutral Good, respectively
  • Portfolio: Bash Brothers, Japanese Beetle Brothers, "Cast Off"
  • Domains: Combat, Beetles, Technology, Teamwork, Heroism
  • Heralds:
  • Allies: All Ascended Toku Heroes, Smile Pretty Cures, Pretty Cure Splash Star, All Ascended Heroic Pandoras (especially Satellizer el Bridget, Rana Linchen, and Elizabeth Mably), Judai Yuki
  • Odd Friendship With: Ryoga Kamishiro (Kagami only).
  • Friendly Rivals With: Shigeru Jo/Kamen Rider Stronger, Hiromu Sakurada/Red Buster, Barry Allen/The Flash (Tendou only)
  • Enemies: SHOCKER, Nobuyuki Sugou/Oberon the Fairy King, Lord Brevon, Junko Enoshima and Monokuma, Ragyo Kiryuin, Frieza, Boros, The Flood
  • Opposes: Gilgamesh (Fate) (Tendou only)
  • Souji Tendou and ZECT member Arata Kagami are two men who, through using the ZECTer System, transform into Kamen Rider Kabuto and Kamen Rider Gatack. Wielding these powers, they work together as a duo to protect Earth from a race of insect-themed aliens called "Worms", who caused quite the incident back in the year 2006. Their cooperation and dedication to protect Earth as a two-man team is the reason why they managed to get their spot.
    • Tendou is considered an incredibly talented person and has many finely-honed skills, ranging from cooking to sports to even hairstyling, and is able to take on all of his allies, by himself, in a sport game. He often spouts zen-like phrases that he supposedly learned from his grandmother, prefacing them with the words "My grandmother used to say..." to allies or enemies alike. He also tends to point his right finger into the sky, usually while introducing himself or after defeating his enemies. In addition, Tendou has two sisters, who he cares for greatly: one of them is Hiyori Kusakabe, a chef who turns out to be a Native Worm, and the other is Jyuka Tendou, a schoolgirl.
    • Kagami, by contrast, is somewhat a naive-yet-hot-blooded person who will often leap into action before he thinks about the repercussions of said action. Despite this he gradually develops into a more competent fighter, a more capable Kamen Rider and a valuable ally to Tendou.
  • Upon their ascension, they brought the remnants of the other ZECTers with them, which were initially destroyed after their final battle against Masato Mishima, who turned himself into the Gryllus Worm. They brought them to the House of Technology as a means to repair them, so they may lend their powers to potential users for benevolent purposes.
  • Like many Toku heroes before them, the two of them have gained the admiration of Judai Yuki. They remind the duellist of his Masked HERO deck, whose creatures share a lot of similarities to Kamen Riders. It is unknown yet if Tendou and Kagami would partake in playing Duel Monsters with him, though it wouldn't be surprising if Tendou proved to be skilled at that too.
  • Both of them have a good relationship with two specific Pretty Cure teams, particularly the Splash Star Cures and the Smile Cures. The former were active at around the same time period, while the latter is because their tales were chronicled by the same person.
    • Tendou also happens to be personally acquainted with veteran Pretty Cure Kaoruko Hanasaki...she got his attention by doing the same pose and speeches he does. In an odd way, while doing so, she reminded Tendou of his grandmother, who taught him those gestures and many of the sayings he knows.
  • Due to their experience conflict with hostile alien forces, it didn't take long for them to become enemies with the Pantheon's supply of evil aliens, featuring the likes of Frieza, The Flood, Lord Brevon and Boros. Their forces give the two Riders a hard time, especially as they're quite a bit more potent then the Worm armada. Luckily, they found unlikely allies with the Pandoras of West Genetics, particularly Satellizer, Rana, and Elizabeth, since they're no stranger to battling hostile aliens...the Nova in their case...back home. As such, the two factions work together to stop the invasion of these evil aliens in the pantheon.
  • Tendou and Sol Badguy are personally acquainted, courtesy of a chance visit Tendou made to Sol's temple. Tendou has Sol's respect, due to a conversaion about their mutual pasts...in Tendou's case, it involved seven long, harsh years of hard work and brutal training to be worthy of so much as LOOKING at a ZECTer, in order to become a Kamen Rider to protect humanity from the invading Worms.
  • Another acquaintance of Tendou's is veteran ninja Ryu Hayabusa. Evidently, the two became friends due to their similar reasons of watching over the ones they want to protect.
  • Being an excellent cook, Tendou is often seen buying ingredients and preparing meals in the House of Food. Given the locale, he can sometimes be seen with fellow Supreme Chefs like Soma Yukihira, Megumi Tadokoro, Erina Nakiri, Mr. Champloo, Remy and Komatsu, as well as the hungry likes of Toriko, after they became impressed with his cooking skills. The same goes with fellow Toku heroes Shouichi Tsugami and Oren Pierre Alfonzo, who share his passion for and skill at cooking. From time to time, Tendou also challenges them in a cooking match to determine which food has the best taste in the pantheon. Whoever loses, the taste-testers win.
  • Tendou also got embroiled in a friendly rivalry with a Showa Rider, Shigeru Jo, better known as Kamen Rider Stronger, who shares his rhinoceros-beetle theme. For what it's worth, tendou looks up to Shigeru as a mentor of sorts, with the two sparring frequently in the House of Combat to sharpen their combat skill.
    • He also became rivals with fellow speedsters like Barry Allen and Hiromu Sakurada, who got wind of the Clock Up mode that ZEC Ter-using Riders have access to, and the three of them often compete to see who has fastest Super-Speed powers.
  • Tendou doesn't like Gilgamesh. Despite sharing a similarly-massive ego and self-centered demeanor, Tendou is quick to state that, at the very least, he isn't rude and nasty about it like Gilgamesh is, and also points to the laundry list of unpleasant things Gil has done back home.
  • Kagami became friends with Nodoka Miyazaki, as the two were started as incapable fighters, and gradually improved over the course of many battles, and especially after they finally found their resolve to protect the ones they care about.
  • Kagami also became close friends with both Kamina, Sasha Blouse, and Yuma Tsukumo due to their similar tendencies. Kamina also seems to have taken a liking to the stag beetle Rider due to his eager, fiery attitude and his sheer baddassery, even thought he's not that smart to begin with.
  • Kagami's also forged a bond with Shark. Mainly because Kagami can sympathise with him due to coming from a rich family and actually being a Barian, which reminded him of his old friends and colleagues Tsurugi Kamishiro, who used the alias Kamen Rider Sasword.
  • The two beetle Riders were not pleased that terrorist organization SHOCKER has made their move in the pantheon, since the organization had successfully recruited a large group of Worms to their cause for, what else, world domination. They also butt heads with the syndicate's employed members, featuring the likes of Ragyo Kiryuin, Nobuyuki Sugou, and Junko Enoshima. Ragyo's selling out the humans of her world to hostile aliens and Sugou's personality remind them too much of Masato Mishima for comfort. They also despise Junko, especially considering the stuff she did during the "School Life of Mutual Killings" incident. Due to this, both Tendou and Kagami have started to work with their fellow Kamen Riders, as well as other heroes in the Pantheon, to stop the organization from advancing their agenda any further.

Lesser Gods

    Off the Hook
Off the Hook: Pearl Houzuki and Marina Ida, Co-Goddesses of Friendship Beyond Race (Pearl: MC Princess, Baroness of Bars, MC Foreign Policy, MC Reverse Psychology, MC Danger Noodle | Marina: DJ Hyperfresh, DJ Cold Breakfast, The Fuzzy Dazzler, DJ Catch-and-Release, Marina Agitando)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/off_the_hook.png
Left: Pearl; right: Marina
  • Lesser Goddesses
  • Symbol: Their group logo, as featured on their album art. Alternatively, this sigil can be used: a geometric figure with three tentacle-like projections extending off of its lower side. The left half of it forms one half of an equilateral triangle and is colored pink, while the right half is a teal semicircle. Both ends meet at what would normally be the apex and the bottom leg of the triangle
  • Theme Music: Ebb and Flow, Color Pulse during Splatfests, Nasty Majesty for their undercover Mission Control role Unconscience (Marina while under Order's control), Spectrum Obligato ~ Ebb & Flow, Short Order, onward (Dedf1sh ft. Off the Hook)
    • Pearl would like for you to see this.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good Marina was rumored to be Lawful Evil at one point
  • Portfolio
  • Domains: Squids (and octopi), Music, Newscasting. They are secretly Mission Control to a raid conducted on the Kamabo Corporation
  • Herald: "Eight" (a "friend of mine" according to Pearl) actually Agent 8, an Octoling who successfully undermined the Kamabo Corporation
  • Allies: The Squid Sisters, note  The Inklings, Captain Falcon, Daft Punk, Makoto Nanayanote
  • Enemies: The Kraken, Ghiren Zabi, Lucifer, SKYNET
  • Respects: Octodad
  • Ambiguous relationship with: Orson Krennic; Illaoi; most, if not all, of the other deities from Overwatch
  • Background: An Inkling/Octoling musical duo based in Inkopolis Square, the two are the current co-hosts of Inkopolis News, taking over from the Squid Sisters. Their composition is interesting since at around the time they first encountered, both species were still relatively hostile with each other. In fact, one of the big reasons Marina decided to head to Inkopolis was because of the Squid Sisters’ “performance” in Octo Valley being such a life-changing event. She met Pearl shortly after arriving on the surface, and it is largely Pearl's help which made it easy for Marina to adapt to the Inkling society
  • Unfortunately, one of the biggest factors of their popularity is their exotic style, and the fact that the public is unaware that Marina is an Octoling in a time where relations between the two races are at a low. Not only that, she was a key factor within key events in the war between Inklings and Octarians, having designed and deployed several of the tactical Great Octoweapons against them, and key in the planning of the theft of the Great Zapfish, before having betrayed the Octarians through her desertion. The duo had one notable instance where they encountered this predicament, but Pearl reassured her companion that she'd still be welcome as a performer. The Court of Gods seconds this stance, as they "don't see species." Many of these concerns have been quashed following a mass exodus of Marina's own kind out of Octo Valley and Octo Canyon to Inkopolis as a result of the same "life-changing performance" that impacted Marina herself, reducing any contempt either race has to the other.
  • At around the same time of the "Octoling Exodus," the duo gained fame (or notoriety) for masterminding a raid on the morally gray Kamabo Corporation, owner of the Deepsea Metro operating nearby, but not within, Inkopolis. The duo travelled to the nearby Mount Nantai, and from there, they were sent to investigate the activities of the company. They uncovered a mass conspiracy involving a malevolent AI who planned to exterminate their world's sapient life in order to provide a blank slate for the Ultimate Lifeform. Needless to say, the AI and his efforts were suppressed thanks to Pearl's love for shouting powering a custom Beam-O-War to destroy the NILS statue and undermine the Kamabo corporation, as well as eliminate the threat ancient technology presented to the new society. Despite this, the Deepsea Metro is still in operation, having been taken over by the Inkopolis Municipal Subway. They also earned their herald through this.
  • Some people question the height disparity of the group. It is rumoured that this is because as a child, Pearl was nearly lethally electrocuted while performing at a folk-singing contest. The electrocution stunted her growth.
  • Ascended in place of the former bearer of this post, Makoto Nanaya, as the Court of Gods deemed it was necessary that a noteworthy interspecies group fill in this post to better represent this title. Makoto has no qualms being relegated to High Priestess, even if only to escape dealing with the menace that is Jinx.
    • However, the Court of Gods recently offered Makoto a new post to represent. No new cases have been reported in regards to the Jinx incidents.
  • Their association with Captain Falcon also comes from the above, as in the words of one of his incarnations, "Only those who surpass Falcon may become Falcon."
  • They are friends of Daft Punk. Among Inklings, many of their music has been likened more to house/electronica music rather than the explicitly J-pop-like style of the Squid Sisters.
  • However, Pearl often pays visits to the House of Music in order to appeal to her metalhead side. Before forming Off the Hook, she was involved with a metal band, which sold about 1000 units per record. Active metal musicians do not know what to make of her voice, especially after this infamous gig. Her liking of Trent Reznor comes from having dabbled in Industrial Metal in particular.
  • They staunchly oppose Ghiren Zabi through his agenda and his acts in war, and how these misdeeds parallel those of Commander Tartar, whom they suppressed as part of the Kamabo incident.
  • Ditto with Lucifer thanks to his nihilistic attitude toward humanity.
  • Ditto with SKYNET, as he is also a malevolent AI hell-bent on executing humanity (or whatever sentient species he deems "unworthy").
  • Nobody knows what Pearl's last name is. Japan remedied that problem with supplementary material that would likely not reach Western shores.
  • Marina pays regular visits to the House of Technology and the GUAG robotics division, as she has a significant background with designing war machines in her time in the Octarian army. Currently pending negotiations with GUAG to instate her as a full member following evaluation of her background and technique.
  • Marina’s application to the GUAG White Hat is also pending, though the Kamabo incident would be a significant resume booster there.
  • They do not know what to collectively make of Orson Krennic. On one hand, similar to Marina’s own military background, he designed a core war machine within the Empire, but was betrayed by his superiors, who callously disregarded Krennic’s presence before firing it on him. Marina often pities him due to this, but Pearl notes that Krennic, despite all of his redeeming characteristics, is still a Jerkass.
  • They do not know what to make of Illaoi. On one hand, they claim that she represents the Kraken, though Illaoi herself denies any connection. Whether they are appreciative of her core "sink or swim" morality is still questionable. However, Marina takes a decent liking of her “Kraken priestess” aesthetic.
  • Likewise, many of the Overwatch deities exhibit an ambiguous opinion on the duo. On one hand, many of their Inkling co-deities often exhibit a Friendly Rivalry toward the Overwatch deities, but on the other hand, many of the neutral-aligned deities question their endeavors (particularly with Pearl's MC Foreign Policy handle, and especially the Kamabo incident).
  • They were proud to announce their final Splatfest: Order vs. Chaos, with Marina representing Order and Pearl representing Chaos. They have invited almost all Gods from the Pantheon to participate, except Galeem and Dharkon. They're still not very happy about the spirit incident, and it's rather obvious which side the two would pick anyway. The two Chaos and Order deities were not pleased by their exemption from the Splatfest, but Pearl told them to shove it.
  • They colllectively appreciate Octodad for his own Interspecies Friendship.
  • Don't get cooked...Stay off the hook!

Demigods

Manolo Sanchez, Maria Posada and Joaquin Mondragon Jr.
Manolo Sanchez, Maria Posada and Joaquin Mondragon Jr., Divine Trio of Two Guys and a Girl
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1401216444003_bol_firstlook_10.jpg
From left to right: Joaquin, Maria holding her pet Chuy, and Manolo
  • Rank: Demideities (Joaquin used to be a Lesser God when he had the Medal of Everlasting Life with him)
  • Symbol: A guitar and a sword crossed together (Manolo); Her necklace (Maria); the Medal of Everlasting Life (Joaquin)
  • Theme Songs: I Love You Too Much and The Apology Song (Manolo); No Matter Where You Are (Manolo and Maria)
  • Alignment: Neutral Good for both Manolo and Maria; Chaotic Good for Joaquin
  • Portfolio: Freudian Trio, Love Triangle, Single-Target Sexuality, Two Guys and a Girl (the trio), Betty and Veronica, Friendly Rivalry, Sensitive Guy and Manly Man (Manolo and Joaquin), Childhood Friend Romance (Manolo and Maria); Did Not Get the Girl (Joaquin and Maria)
  • Domains: Friendship, Love Triangles, Stories
  • Allies: La Muerte & Xibalba, Hector, Princess Cadance, lot of deities in the House of Love and Affection, Zorro, Inigo Montoya, Donald Duck
  • Enemies: Vega, Lysandere, Shinobu Sensui, Handsome Jack
    • Manolo: Matador
    • Maria: Thanos
    • Joaquin: The House of Villainy and other supervillains that aren't in that house
  • Respects: The House of Heroism and other superheroes that aren't in that house in general (Joaquin)
  • Two best friends, Manolo and Joaquin were both in love with Maria, which caused La Muerte and Xibalba to make a bet on which boy will successfully marry her. While Maria was studying abroad, Manolo became an excellent bullfighter, but never killed a bull as he aspires to be a musician, and Joaquin became a hero to San Angel thanks to the Medal of Everlasting Life. With Maria's return, this caused the two boys to settle their rivalry once and for all to eventually marry her. Although Manolo won her heart, Xibalba cheated by using a two-headed snake to kill Manolo. Although because his story wasn't finished, he was brought back to the dead and fought alongsode with his best friend and love interest to save San Angel form Chakal. After that, Maria chooses to be with Manolo and eventually marry each other, while Joaquin decides to give up the Medal of Everlasting Life, as he learns to be selfless thanks to giving the medal to Joaquin to save himself from performing a Heroic Sacrifice.
  • Their ascencion was heard about by La Muerte and Xibalba, the former being overjoyed to see them. She hopes that Manolo and Maria will continue to find happiness in the Pantheon, and that the same goes for Joaquin which they both appreciated. Manolo still doesn't appreciate Xibalba's way of cheating the bet it seems that he forgive him and the two are now on rather good terms.
  • Being that he also lives in a world where there is a Land of the Dead, they are visited by Hector. The trio were moved and sympathized hearing sbout his story of being murdered whose music was stolen by Ernesto and being disowned by his now alive entire family back in the living land, especially for Manolo, as he thinks that his some of his problems are similar to that of Hector and had been to the Land of the Remembered and the Land of the Forgotten at the time. This caused Hector to easily with Manolo, along with the fact they are both musicians who love to play guitar. The trio hoped that he'll find everlasting happiness along the way.
  • Princess Cadance is happy to here an another happy couple that have ascended. She respects Maria's respectfulness of who Manolo actually is and wants him to be himself. She also is impressed with Manolo's willingness to be with Maria even if it means it might result on death. They are thankful of hearing these kinds of words from here with them hoping she'll have a successful marriage with Shining Armor. She is sad to hear of Joaquin's failure of not getting the woman he loves, but she hopes that he will find someone that matches for him.
    • Following Cadance's statement, a lot of the deities of the House of Love support Manolo and Maria's marriage and are happy that they are happy together. Tey feel bad for Joaquin never getting the lover of his dreams, but they admired the fact he wants her to be happy with the man she loves. They hope that he'll find someone that could make him happy someday.
  • Due to being Spanish, they became allies with fellow Spanish heroes, Zorro and Inigo Montoya, which also helps that they know how to fight specifically with a sword, but Joaquin relates to them the most as they all lose their father at a young age. They try to smoothen relationships between themselves, but so sure there isn't any progress being made.
  • Hearing about their friendship and dynamics, Donald Duck visited them as it reminds him of his friendship with Jose and Panchito. Manolo is somewhat amused to hear that Donald is the only member of the trio that doesn't really sing and Joaquin is impressed at their heroics in a certain universe. They decided to meet Donald from time to time, wanting to hear more about his adventures as a member of the Three Caballeros.
  • Since they value the concept of beauty, they're antagonistic toward Vega due to the masked assassin's messed-up perception of the concept. A remark Vega made on Maria's beauty in particular heated the antagonism between Manolo and Vega; while Manolo CERTAINLY agrees that Maria's beauty is nigh-peerless, he'll not allow Vega to lay so much as a finger upon his wife.
  • Lysandere and Shinobu Sensui's misantropy causes them to become enemies with them since it is extremely remeniscent of that of Chakal. It doesn't help that they all wanted to destroy the world since this means the entire human race would be in the Land of Forgotten.
  • The way Handsome Jack treats the villagers and seeing them as similar to bandits is what causes them to become enemies. He thinks that they similar to the bandits, which really insulted since they never do evil things in their lives and took great pleasure to protect San Angel.
  • Excluding to Manolo:
    • Matador is ashamed to hear of Manolo not continuing his family legacy of being a bullfighter and aspiring to be a musician, seeing that he is a skilled swordsman and a bullfighter thanks to years of training, only to waste it. In return, Manolo despises him for killing bulls with no consent and it doesn't help that he is not a nice person. Matador usually challenges him to a swordfight to see who is a better fighter, which Manolo refuses every time.
    • Hearing that he is a bullfighter, Blaine Bloodhoof stays away from him, but after hearing that he doesn't want to become one, he decided to visit him. He is suprised at his kindhearted personality, admires his desire to become himself instead of listening his father's wishes, and that when he was forced to kill a 1,000 bulls transformed into a giant bull, he uses a guitar and apologizes to the bull for his family killed ever single one of them. Likewise, Manolo admires his wisdom and that he is not like other bulls he had met in his liferime.
    • The blanks of his story while being dead at the time means that he could change his own fate, causes him to gain allies in thr House of Opposing Fate. He is mostly close with the Nephalems as they are Immune to Fate and because of this, they are ready to take down his enemies.
  • Exclusive to Maria:
    • Is shocked to hear that Gamora has the same voice as her. Gamora is impressed to see that Maria is capable of fighting her own despite being a Proper Lady. Maria is sad to hear of what kind of father Thanos is and how he killed her family and in extension, her own racecl and stated that Thanos makes her father a living saint, causing her to become enemies with him as a result, not helping in that in one incarnation, he wanted to destroy half the universe, and worse, in Earth-616, he wanted to commit genocide to the entire universe to court his Lady Death, which doesn't help her case thanks to how cultured she has become. She is happy to hear that she is notl in alliance with Thanos anymore and hopes that she'll be safe along the way.
      • This is the same case with Neytiri. Neytiri warmed up to her after hearing Maria's desire to not hurt people unless it's necessary. Maria hopes that she could teach Neytiri human values and behaviors while she is in the Pantheon. For Neytiri, hearing about her skills in swordmanship and combat, she hopes that she could teach her in more skills to better defend themselves and wanted her to visit her world when she hears how much she loves animals and nature and how she thinks they deserve freedom.
    • Chun-Li doesn't know what to think of Maria knowing kung-fu because it was stated that in her time period, it was impossible to learn something like that and would be unrealistic. She will say that she is impressed at being able to master a skill like that despite the fact that the reason why Maria stuided abroad is to become a Proper Lady and hoes she'll continue using her skills in the face of danger.
  • Exclusive to Joaquin:
    • Seeing that he is San Angel's hero, he wanted to have a position in the House of Heroes even if he mellowed down, which won't happen anytime soon. He had respect to the House of Heroes and superheroes in general because of their heroics and dedication to their job and wanted to face them with his sword, despite the fact he could easily get injured as he doesn't have the Medal of Everlasting Life. Of course because of this, he hates the House of Villains and supervillains and wanted to face some of them to protect people from danger.
    • As they are both admire heroism and wanted to become one, which Joaquin succeeded at, he bonded with K.O. The child is fascinated upon hearing the Medal of Everlasting Life, but is bummed out upon hearing that he abandoned it. K.O. hopes that he'll strive harder as a hero after losing the medal, as he is now vulnerable to harm, and to continue his duties as one.
    • Joaquin actually loves writing and calligraphy and is pretty skilled at it. Because of this, he becomes friends with a lot of the writers in the Pantheon, who are impressed with how he writes his letters. Although it's very clear he doesn't want to be a writer, he seems to get along with them.
  • "No retreat, no surrender!"

  • Theme Songs: Man From U.N.C.LE Suite, Escape From East Berlin
  • Alignment: Lawful Good, with shades of Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Both: Badass in a Nice Suit, Chick Magnets, Men who Provide Fanservice, Deadpan Snarkers, Vitriolic Best Buds, True Companions, Odd Couple
  • Domains: Espionage, Cold War, Agility, Infiltration
  • Herald: Gaby Teller
  • High Priests: Art Ridzik and Ivan Danko
  • Allies: The GUAG, Nick Fury, Solid Snake, Roger Thornhill, Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, The entire House of Love, Anastasia
  • Enemies: HYDRA, Any evil authoritarian figure in the Pantheon, especially those afilliated with Nazis, M.Bison, The GUAE
  • Friendly Rivals: Selina Kyle (Napoleon Only)
  • Opposes: Liberty Prime, Chin
  • Opposed by: Ethan Hunt (Napoleon Only)
  • Odd Friendship with: The Lone Ranger (Illya Only)
  • Pities: Elena (Napoleon Only)
  • Confused around: Lara Croft (Illya Only)
  • Conflicting Opinions on: James Bond
  • It was a calm day on the Patheon, until a alarm could be heard on the distance. The Gods were puzzled at first, but soon figured out that someone was breaking into the safes of some houses. They found the culprits: Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, two of the best U.N.C.L.E agents, who wanted some information on nuclear weapons and their storages, were infiltraded in the Pantheon. The agents realized what they were doing, and soon apologized, after finding out that the Pantheon was the wrong place for finding something like that. They soon found themselves with a seat on the House of Friendship, as a pardon from the gods.
    • Their origin is mostly unknown, but the more accepted theory is that they were a CIA and a KGB agent ensigned together relutanctly by their superiors to a mission in Rome to track down a scientist who worked for the Nazis during World War II that was now with a family affiliated with Italian Fascists, the Vinciguerras, on a new nuclear superweapon. At the same time, they were encharged of protecting his research files at any cost. Even if it meant to kill each other. They Take a Third Option and burned the tape that contained those files. Waverly were also in Rome and was taking part on this mission, and when he saw their exploits, he was motivated to establish his own intelligence service by recruiting them: U.N.C.L.E.
  • The entrance to their temple is a tailor's shop, much like the entrance to U.N.C.L.E's headquarters in New York.
  • While they can get along pretty well (He may or may not might helped them during a mission and his superior Ian Fleming collaborated in some of the concepts to their TV series), they both disagree on some things with James Bond, especially his treatment of women. They respect women who doesn't correspond their affections, and think that sometimes Bond can be somewhat forceful and brutal in this matter. Nonetheless, Bond was the first deity to congratulate and welcome the duo upon their ascention.
  • Their infiltration abilities didn't past unnoticed. The GUAG soon realized that they could be useful on the next time that they launch an offensive against Melkor, mostly to gather important information and are planning to recruit them to the Intelligence Service.
  • Due to their status as Chick Magnets, the House of Love soon started to drool over them. Napoleon was flattered, while Illya was mostly indifferent. Solo can be seen frequently on the house, when they are off-duty. Illya actually can't step there without having a miriad of gods fawning over him. Believe it, he tried.
    • Though, he grew annoyed by Claude Frollo, due to his forceful behavior towards Esmeralda, saying that she doesn't deserve someone like him and that he was a repulsive man.
  • Since their arrival, Illya struck a loyal bond to the fellow Russian god Viktor Reznov, despite him having a strange relationship with the House of Friendship, due to Illya holding a position in the Soviet Navy, and the fact that both of them have gone through a lot of unamusing things on the hands of their former bosses (Reznov being made a guinea pig, Illya being threatened to be sent to a gulag if the mission didn't work). Reznov even introduced Illya to other good-alligned Russian gods.
    • But Nikita thinks that Illya is a "traitor" simply because his best friend is an American. Illya also don't trust him much, being disgusted by his ruthlessness and his immorality (what he did to Reznov might have collaborated to this) and because he thinks that Nikita's plans to restore the Soviet regime is 'nonsensical' and he really should realize that the end of the era is over.
      • Vladimir once tried to deflect Illya from his position, but figured out that Illya is completely loyal to his and Napoleon's obligations, considering him then one of his sworn enemies.
  • Like many other spy deities, they have a good relationship with The Spymaster, Nick Fury, considering him a lot like their boss, Waverly. Very often Fury assigns them to many missions within the Pantheon.
  • Napoleon gets along well with Superman, due to the fact that in his other portrayal, The Man of Steel looked like him.
    • And for that same reason, Henry VIII mistook Solo with his best friend, Charles Brandon. He had already done that to Superman.
  • They can be found taking part on missions with fellow spy Allies: Natasha Romanoff and Solid Snake. Natasha and Napoleon on infiltration missions, Illya and Snake on stealth missions.
  • Napoleon met fellow burglars Selina Kyle and Felicia Hardy. They established a rivalry due to their status as a Gentleman Thief and Classy Cat Burglars respectively that usually ends up with them stealing from one another, but they get along well. Very well. There are rumors that in one point the three of them have slept together, but neither deity denies or confirms this.
  • Illya met and forged a friendship with NCIS officer Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Gibbs thinks that he reminds him of his friend, NCIS Historian Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard, when he was younger.
  • They also don't trust Liberty Prime too much. Liberty was built to eliminate Communists on American soil. Napoleon, himself having his best friend who is a Communist, tries his best to stay away from the robot.
    • They also oppose Chin for that same reason, for fear that, if one day they come near him, he might want to kill Illya with one of his energy beams.
  • Recently, they have been helping Roger Thornhill in clearing his reputation, since his story became a sort of inspiration to their's own and they have been known to help inumerous others civillians caught amidst international affairs during their missions.
  • One time, during their visit to Nick Fury and their other allies in the House of Professions, they were surprised to see their friend, fellow U.N.C.L.E. agent Gaby Teller, there. But it turned out to be Lara Croft, the Goddess of Adventurer Archaelogics, whose appearance was the same of hers. Since he grew infatuated with Gaby during their mission in Rome while they were Undercover as Lovers, Illya felt nervous and distraught while near Croft, but mostly was confused as to why she could have such a striking resemblance. Napoleon was also miffed about it, but not as much. Of course, Lara had no idea as to why two secret agents were talking to her about a mission in Rome.
  • In their spare time, Illya can be seen on the House of Combat, training his Judo and Sambo skills.
  • Since U.N.C.L.E's primary objective is to end any major threat to world peace and to prevent any kind of mass conflict, they caught the menancing eyes of H.Y.D.R.A and its associates. The fact that they reminded the duo of the greatest of U.N.C.L.E's enemies, T.H.R.U.S.H., did not help matters. Frequently their primary missions are preventing H.Y.D.R.A's evil plans from working.
    • They also drawed the attention of the criminal organization Shadaloo and it's leader, M.Bison. He views them as a potential threat to his plans of world domination, and since then, ordered them to be killed if someone of Shadaloo finds them. Fortunately, the duo have succeded in foil Shadaloo's plans most of the time.
  • Despite his political views, Illya gets along pretty well with Anastasia, saying once that he saw no difference between him and aristocracy. Though she thinks that her royal status doesn't really matter, Anastasia was still wary of him at the start (he is a Red, for Pete's sake), but eventually saw that he wasn't like the other Communists within the Pantheon who wanted her dead or viewed her as a threat and warmed up to him. Illya even introduced her to Napoleon, who naturally started to lowkey flirt with her. When she told him that she was already in a relationship with Dmitri, he apologized and understood, but nonetheless became her friend too.
  • When they are out on a mission, Art Ridzik and Ivan Danko assume their places at their seat, protecting it from any casual threats. Just like Napoleon and Illya, both of them were an American and Russian officers paired up together on a duty to their dismay amidst the Cold War-era tensions. The fact that their partnership also started as a conflicting alliance and evolving to a still conflicting, but true friendship also helps.
  • Ethan Hunt doesn't like Solo that much, due to the fact that he thinks Solo values too much his trust over Kuryakin, to a extent that he can risk his own life over the Soviet's. The other reason is that he reminds him of August Walker, Hunt's rival and enemy of his latest mission. It isn't antagonistic, though; Hunt really just avoids Solo most of the times and don't talk to him frequently.
  • Also, please don't mention to them that one time when Solo had to dance with a man obviously dressed on a gorilla suit neither when Illya disguised himself as a Yeti. While it seems that Solo would only have a good laugh at remembering this incident, Illya's reaction would be... less funny and not pretty, to say at least, due to his Hot-Blooded tendencies. He tries his best to control it, but sometimes is not successful.
    • Speaking of past incidents, do not, I repeat, do not mention anything about Illya's past if you don't want any limbs of yours broken, or worse. Well, if you insist, his father had been declared guilty on charges of embezzelement of state funds and sent to a gulag, while his mother had to resort to... ahem... another job to support herself and Illya. There, now you've been warned.
  • Recently, the House of Food let some restricions regarding Solo entering there, as he is known to put ketchup on almost everything he eats, much to Illya's annoyance. He can stay in there, as long as if they keep ketchup bottles away form his reach. Sometimes it works, but eventually he ended up always discovering where the bottles are hidden. The deities ended up hiding it in some safes within the House of Food itself, but that also failed, given Solo's reputation as a thief and breaking into safes.
  • Since their ascention on the Pantheon, The Lone Ranger formed an unusual friendship with Kuryakin. When asked about that, he said that it was because sometimes, the Russian sound a lot like his film version.

    OMORI Friend Group

Left to right: Sunny, Aubrey, Kel, Hero, Basil The friends (including Mari) in Sunny's Headspace, and their waking selves during their shared childhood

  • Demideities (Sunny and Aubrey), Quasideities (Basil, Kel, and Hero)
    • The Headspace versions of Kel and Hero possessed Demigod strength, and Omori once had Greater God power in Sunny's psyche.

  • Theme Songs: Finding Shapes in the Clouds, Where We Used To Play, See You Tomorrow, Treehouse - Here We Are, Together Again
  • Alignment: Neutral Good as a whole (Hero is Lawful Good, Kel had shades of Chaotic Neutral as a child, Aubrey was fully said alignment during the group's separation, Sunny and Hero were momentarily True Neutral ― which Sunny and Basil retain some hints of, and Omori was nothing but an embodiment of self-hatred and denial)
  • Portfolio: Flower and Color Motifs, Temperament Ensemble, Idiosyncratic Ship Naming, went through the horrible loss of Mari, resultingly fell apart for four years but managed to come back together, had unknown reactions to Sunny's truth

  • Allies: The Super Peace Busters, all Good-aligned Undertale deities, the Doki Doki Literature Club, Emmet Brickowski, the Inside Out Emotions, Takuto Maruki, Scott Pilgrim, Ness, the Wayfinder Trio
  • Friendly Rivals:
  • Enemies: The Child Abuse Supporters, Bill Cipher, the Oni, Felix (Red vs. Blue)
  • Fears:
  • Respects (Kel): Michael Jordan
  • Opposed by (Basil): Yuki Ashikaga
  • Commonality Connection (Aubrey): Bad Girl, the Batter, the Scout
  • Complicated Opinions: Azula
  • Interested in: The Hall of Dreams and Nightmares (Sunny avoids it like the plague, though)
  • Welcome to WHITE SPACE. Omori has been living here as long as he can remember. He sometimes sits around by himself, and sometimes traverses the whimsical Headspace with his friends. It isn't that lively or interesting, nor is Omori especially comfortable with Headspace's denizens' way of life, but everything is okay. However, all of this is within the dreams of a lone Hikikomori named Sunny.
  • A traumatic event, specifically the death of Sunny's older sister Mari, caused Sunny's group of best friends to grow apart, drastically altering the next four years of their lives. The quiet Sunny became an utter shut-in, the sweet-yet-somewhat-grouchy Aubrey became a mean and cynical delinquent, the friend-loving gardener Basil became more timid and neurotic than ever, the usually versatile and studious Hero fell under a year of depression, and the adventurous Kel did his best to focus on what made him happy. Fortunately, Kel eventually managed to coax Sunny out of his house, and the two helped everyone else remember how much their old friends care, effectively getting the group to reconcile.
  • However, while Sunny, Kel, Aubrey, and Hero had a sleepover at Basil's in an effort to comfort him before Sunny moved away from Faraway Town, Sunny found out the terrible truth he repressed for so long: Mari didn't actually commit suicide like Kel, Aubrey, and Hero believed. Sunny accidentally pushed her down the stairs amidst a heated argument they had over their recital. In a panic, Basil and Sunny hung Mari's corpse under a tree in Sunny's backyard to frame it as a suicide. This furthered the two boys' trauma and shaped the respective hallucinations only called "Something" that stalked the boys for the next four years of their lives. Once Sunny woke up and managed to check on Basil, the two wound up in a surprisingly brutal fight that ended with Basil stabbing Sunny's eye with his garden shears in an attempt to destroy Sunny's Something, and they were rushed to a hospital.
  • As Sunny regained the precious memories he lost, he faced his own maladaptive defense mechanism, Omori, but ultimately couldn't barrel through his issues. All he could do was accept his guilt as a part of him and move on with his life nonetheless, refusing to succumb just as Omori refused to succumb. Once Sunny was fully prepared to tell his other friends about the truth about what happened to Mari, Omori and the Somethings subsided for good.
  • No one is certain how each of Sunny's friends reacted to his confession. It was certainly quite the surprise that Mari didn't really kill herself, but Kel is widely considered to be the most forgiving, having grown into the group's Only Sane Man. However, speculation has varied to how well Aubrey and Hero would take it, let alone how easily Sunny and Basil forgave themselves. Nevertheless, a few months after Sunny moved to the city, they eventually decided on another reunion for old times' sake, and took a trip to the Pantheon. Many of the gods and goddesses present rejoiced (with some bittersweet sobbing) upon seeing the gang on better terms now. Though it's currently unclear how well they're doing together, the Court of the Gods was moved enough by the friends' past circumstances to nominate Sunny and his best friends as Deified Quintet of Dismantled Friend Groups.
  • Applies to the whole group or largely to multiple members:
    • The five have bonded strongly as True Companions, and have frequently sought and still seek to strengthen bonds that other people closely make with each other.
      • One time, Kel helped a shut-in similar to Sunny go downstairs to celebrate his birthday with his dad. Hero noticed it unusual how Kel sometimes seemed like the responsible one recently, but he and Sunny found the interaction heartwarming anyway.
      • Some find this to have largely resulted from issues with their own respective families. Kel is somewhat estranged from his parents due to their favoritism towards Hero, Aubrey's mother never put in much effort to take care of her, Basil was raised by his grandmother and caretaker due to his parents going on too many business trips to spend much of his life with him, and how well Sunny's doing with his parents isn't well-known. The friends resultingly became like a Family of Choice, albeit at the cost of them being further devastated without Mari, the only real link holding the group together.
      • Sunny and his friends appreciate the bonds that the Wayfinder Trio and many Undertale deities developed in particular, but they dislike the Child Abuse Supporters' use of familial connections for evil, as well as Felix's utter faking of close friendship.
    • As members of the House of Friendship and Camaraderie, the five were befriended by Emmet Brickowski, and they sometimes build beautiful things with the use of LEGOs. It feels nostalgic for them to do so, furthering their remembrance of what it is like to be kids.
    • Sunny, Basil, and Kel have recently learned not to bottle up their grief, and they took the time and effort to understand one another's emotions immediately prior to their ascension. The personified emotions of Inside Out fame gained the group's attention for this (and Disgust is relieved that there isn't much of a reason for what she embodies to be a prominent emotion where Sunny and co. are from).
    • The friends sometimes visit the Hall of Dreams and Nightmares, to find out what Sunny's time in Headspace was like and how it affected him. They took the flanderized versions of their past friendships with humor, but it all eventually got old. Sunny seems to avoid the Hall anyway, out of fear of resumed emotional repression, though Ysera has stepped in a few times to take care of Sunny whenever he ends up there anyway out of accident.
    • One day, Sunny woke up to find everyone around him gone, and the landscape a hollow, monochrome area. Approached and frightened by a strange glowing triangle, Sunny was quick to shy away from the nefarious dealmaker. Once Sunny warned his allies, he learned more about Bill Cipher's invasion of dreams (and bodies!) as a means of fulfilling his sinister goals… and him being a geometric figure with a single, lidded eye… no one was happy with that.
    • When it comes to the Flower Motifs Basil assigned to his closest friends, the sunflower represents Basil's desire for an optimistic outlook on life, the lily of the valley represents Mari's past bringing of peace and unity to the friend group, the rose represents Hero's versatility and popularity, the gladiolus represents Aubrey's determination and strength of character, the cactus (a plant, but not a flower in and of itself...) represents Kel's resilience and hardiness, and the white tulip represents Sunny's frequent quietness and simplistic aesthetic — and the beauty of such.
    • Aubrey and Kel seem to bicker a bit more harshly than they did in the past, but they both recall Aubrey's bullying of Basil that made it devolve from their past friendship prior to Sunny leaving his house.
    • That said, the friends find it ironic how Aubrey introduced Basil to them, yet ended up bullying him so much while the group was disbanded.
    • Sunny and his friends often hang out with the Doki Doki Literature Club, whose members are intrigued by Sunny's love for reading, comics, and poetry.
    • The friends aren't sure what to think of Princess Azula. Her feelings of abandonment certainly contributed to how she currently acts. Sunny and co. had high hopes for her prior to realizing that she, unlike Sunny and Aubrey, still refuses to own up to her misdeeds.
  • Applies to both Kel and Hero:
    • Kel and Hero occasionally compare their heights. The former recently had quite the growth spurt, so such difference is much harder to discern now. Sunny seems to have helped the brothers decide who is taller, but keeps silent on the matter.
    • The brothers bonded with Ron Weasley. They each have a bit in common, but such things aren't the same:
      • Kel and Ron, while not quite suffering to the extent of their respective companions, felt no less relatable for it, due to them not being particularly confident in themselves and being unfavorites of sorts in their respective families.
      • With Ron being known to some as "The King" and his last name being somewhat akin to Kel's given first name, Kel someimtes wonders how a "Kelsey is our King" tune would work out.
      • Both Ron and Hero are severely arachnophobic and have been assumed by some to be less kindly than they really are. While Hero is sometimes thought to be the least forgiving out of Sunny's friends, many exaggerations of his reaction are in good fun. Hero does feel pretty bad about people genuinely hating Ron enough to seriously vilify him, though.
    • Kel being overshadowed by Hero is often found to be akin to Luigi being less popular and well-known than Mario, but the roles are a very different story for the brothers' personalities, with both Kel and Mario being more brash and mischievous than their respective brothers.
  • Applies to Sunny:
    • One of the first people the friend circle met was Takuto Maruki, a therapist interested in the Metaverse (a realm shaped by human cognition). He empathizes with the time Sunny spent stuck in Headspace, and occasionally supports him through his remaining guilt and grief. Sometimes, Sunny decides to bring his friends along so they can continue dealing with what they went through together.
      • Due to their visits with Maruki, as well as hearing of Sunny's mental condition, the Phantom Thieves of Hearts have also taken an interest in the boy and investigated his Whitespace through the Meta-Nav, where they met Omori, who made sure that Blackspace was inaccessible to them (not that they would). Futaba in particular does her best to relate to him given their similar reclusive living before friends coaxed her out (though in her case, the trauma was caused by outside factors and she only made friends with the crew after they helped her, while his trauma was his own accidental doing and it was old friends that he had to interact with to potentially heal). They also heard of an Alternate Universe where Faraway Town was in Japan, and where Kel asked the Phantom Thieves to steal Sunny's heart as they did with Futaba.
    • The next one after that was Yu Narukami of the Investigation Team. Being the big brother figure that he is, Yu took the time to approach him, and eventually discovered the truth of Sunny's past. Needless to say, he was horrified… at Omori, since that part of Sunny seemed to behave very much like a Shadow Self, and the alternate fate of Sunny succumbing to Omori and committing suicide is very much like what happens when a Shadow Self succeeds at its goal of wiping out the original. But what displeased Yu the most was that Omori had been created to hide the truth (which, given what happened to Sunny, was a bit understadable), but then continued to try to stop Sunny from reaching the truth even when the boy made it very clear that he was done running away. At least Omori is dormant now, with the truth out in the open.
    • Ned Needlemeyer and Sunny both have had very bad dreams due to anxiety, and although Sunny doesn't talk a lot, they quickly became fast friends.
    • Due to the immense repression and scary hallucinations he incurred, Sunny is implied to have suffered from dissociative amnesia. Furthermore, Sunny and his friends regard Omori as more of a face of Sunny's emotional repression than a real Split Personality.
    • Given Sunny's initial state of mind at the start of the game, some think it's not plausible for him to have responded to Kel on his own and go out of his house, and should've required… outside influence. Given his nature as a Player Character with a customizable name (albeit with a Canon Name), Sunny has been seen interacting with (Insert Name Here) specifically in a few occasions.
    • Sunny's experiences as a mentally ill shut-in were comparable to those of certain other deities he befriended, but there are important differences for many of such:
      • Sunny met Mary at one point. The two found out that they both used their dreams to cope with their trauma, but Mary was forced to be a shut-in, where Sunny had more of his own volition involved. For several reasons, Mary is highly discouraged from talking to Sunny as her real self Mari, or at least letting slip anything about her life as that, esepcially since she would then share the same name as Sunny's sister whom he killed by accident.
      • The group became interested in Scott Pilgrim's Medium Awareness, and Sunny currently sees Nega Scott as a foil to Omori. While Omori existed to bury the truth of Sunny's entire past via perpetual RPG loop, Nega Scott worked to get Scott to face his past actions.
      • Another contrast made in this likeness ensued once Sunny met Madeline, whose disesteemed anxiety and pessimism physically manifested while she climbed a magical mountain. Madeline was eventually forced to learn to work with Badeline as an ally, while Omori's attempts to shield Sunny from his existing trauma caused him to embody an unhealthy coping mechanism, and Omori as a personification of Sunny's guilt vanished once Sunny managed to make peace with such guilt. However, barreling through their respective issues proved to be impossible for both Sunny and Madeline.
    • Madotsuki and Sunny consider one another friendly rivals over not only them both being knife-wielders, but also Black Space, having consisted of the most repressed parts of Sunny's memories, being an inverse-Whole-Plot Reference to where Madotsuki is from.
    • Harbingers of nightmares frighten Sunny in general, but one being stands out in particular: The Oni. Madotsuki told him about it, and everyone learned that it, like the forementioned Bill Cipher, has no standards and looks a lot like Something whenever he wants to.
    • Certain deities wondered how Sunny is doing with the lost eye of his. Initially having to wear an eye patch, he eventually got a glass eye prior to the friend group's ascension. However, since Sunny's eye got stabbed instead of slashed into in his scuffle with Basil, this isn't accompanied by a scar of that sort.
    • Lucas is one of the very few people Sunny will start a conversation with. This is probably due to the fact the two share many similar problems, both being more timid people with a family member who met an untimely end and have been chased by an invincible mutant monster that wanted to devour them. Ness is tolerated, although Lucas has tried to play wingman and get the two talk over steak.
  • Applies to Basil:
    • Basil frequents the House of Plants, and has introduced its members to the meanings of various flowers he has grown. While plants are often associated with peace and calmness, the proportion of friendly faces in the house is only so much, so Basil is wary of the House's depths.
    • Due to how devoted Basil is to his best friend Sunny, some wonder if the former is in love with the latter. This has largely resulted from Basil not only sharing Sunny's timid and gentle disposition, or even him taking Aubrey's blame from Sunny or Omori for scribbling out photos of Aubrey's older sister figure Mari (which was done in an attempt to repress Sunny's memories), but also Basil being willing to hide the fact that Sunny accidentally killed his sister, not to mention him deluding himself into believing that Sunny could never have killed her, even by accident. The shared trauma of this horrible secret eventually caused Basil to try to kill himself (and a small number of deities suspect that Basil wanted to take Sunny with him). In response, the two boys currently seek to prevent their relationship from being overly codependent, which Yuki Ashikaga seems relieved at.
    • Basil dislikes taking pictures of people while they're smiling for the camera. Many other photographers resultingly found the idea of capturing people living in the moment to be wise.
    • Basil became quite close to Asgore Dreemurr and Toriel. Their love for gardening piqued his interest and reminded him of how much he learned from his caretaker Polly (as well as his late grandmother), and they all sometimes spend time together to expand their knowledge on their shared passion. Though Basil helped Asgore and Toriel get along again, the latter two still only view each other as friends.
    • Basil has been subject to a few nicknames, but he doesn't seem appreciative of his name sounding similar to "Brazil" for...reasons.
  • Applies to Kel:
    • Kel has enjoyed playing different kinds of games his whole life. He enjoys playing basketball with the likes of Michiru Kagemori and Tetsuya Kuroko (and he looks up to basketball star Michael Jordan), and is well-known across the Pantheon for his compliments and critique of the video games he discovered. The Wii Fit series' codification of Exergaming fascinates him in particular (and excites him with gameplay his friends won't curbstomp him at).
    • While Kel was much less emotionally unstable than his childhood friends once were, he still has had some issues with running from his grief, even while remaining fully aware of it. He and Emi Ibarazaki seem to have spent a long time with all their remaining loved ones at arm's length, even though they know their reasons for such to slightly differ.
    • Curiously, Kel hates milk compared to when he was a child. Many people have tried to guess how this came to be.
  • Applies to Aubrey:
    • Once Aubrey learned of Cerebus the Aardvark's association with darkening of tone, she described the sheer extent to which she changed as a person. This gave the two more insight into how easily people's identities and mindsets can be deconstructed and reconstructed.
    • A good number of victims of Parental Neglect (at best) and poverty, namely Natsuki and the Curtis Gang, related to Aubrey's home "life" and (just like Cerebus) how it contributed to her current personality.
    • Aubrey's newer friends and lifestyle are reminiscent of Japanese Delinquents like the Tōhōshinki, and the Hooligans' use of scooters and/or bikes to move around (and not committing the worst of gang activity) are akin to a certain subculture of such.
    • Aubrey's use of blunt weapons for combat has lead people to compare her with other baseball bat weaponizers, most notably Ness, Bad Girl, the Batter, and the Scout. Like her friends, Aubrey is friendly to Ness, but doesn't know what to think about the relatively amoral examples, outright opposing Travis Touchdown's former fan and the "purifier". As for the Scout, he did flirt with her once before backing off after realizing just how young she was (16) compared to him (26); not even he would cross that particular line.
    • While she has not used her bat for combat thus far (for that, she uses her head), the presence of more supernatural and more cruel folks in the Pantheon has made it necessary for her to actually use it as a weapon.
    • Despite her change in personality, Aubrey still finds fluffy bunnies to be adorable, enjoys the presence of such animals, and has befriended the Doom Slayer over his own love for such (as well as his loss of his own pet rabbit, Daisy). Aubrey occasionally lets him visit her own pet rabbit, Bun-Bun.
  • Applies to Hero:
    • Hero has seemed to lack physical fitness as a kid. His Headspace self wasn't very swift in a fight and had to rest for quite a bit after any strenuous physical activity. This is unlikely to be the case now, as he recently and single-handedly saved both Sunny and Basil from drowning in their old hangout spot's lake. Nevertheless, few think he's much stronger than Kel.
    • He's able to gain the respect of other Supreme Chefs, even Gordon Ramsay, for the cooking skills he developed. Contrary to Hero's typically soft-spoken demeanor, however, he (as well as the competent cooks he befriended) is quite upset about the abysmal cooking of the Mafia of Cooks.
    • Due to Mari ostensibly committing suicide and Hero blaming himself for having no idea why, he gave up his dream of growing up to be a chef, desiring to become a psychologist in order to prevent others from suffering Mari's "fate". Hero still feels rather guilty that he couldn't notice Mari's perfection getting to Sunny's head and contributing to her untimely death, still blaming himself to an extent for such.

Stella
  • Demigoddess and Quasideity
  • Symbols: Sei's old White Knight helmet and Stella's necklace. We don't recommend using Stella's robotic eye.
  • Alignment: Sei is Lawful Good. Stella is Neutral Good.
  • Portfolio:
  • Domains:
    • General: Cyberpunk, Social Classes, Close Friendship
    • Sei: Paramedics (formerly), Bodyguarding, Dropouts
    • Stella: Wealth, Cat Girls, Cybernetics
  • Followers: Stella's unseen security force
  • Allies: Jill Stingray, Alma Armas, Dorothy Haze, Dana Zane, Mae Borowski, The T-Dolls of Griffin and Kryuger
  • Enemies: Dirty Cops such as Manny Pardo and Chief Brian Irons
  • Opposes:
  • Top in the hierarchies of Cyberpunk settings are of course the rich, far removed from the lower class and spearheading their dirty work are the authoritarian powers. Glitch City is no different: The gap between the rich and those poorer than them could not be anymore visible if you shone a searchlight on it, and in addition to the nanomachines inside people keeping everyone in line there's the White Knights and their stranglehold on the city. While generally these two groups are generally as awful as you'd expect them to be there are some good people amidst the bunch. There's Stella Hoshii and Sei P. Asagiri belonging to the two respective aforementioned groups, and they happen to be close friends with one another. The two came to meet one another when Stella asked her parents to a "real kids park" and it just so happened to be the same park Sei frequented. It wouldn't be the last time they'd meet as they'd become friends from then on. Though it would be the last time Stella brings a fancy dress after predictably getting all muddy.
  • The two were quite overwhelmed when they ascended to the Pantheon to say the least. It not only came out of nowhere but the process for their ascension ended up being completed very quickly without either of the duo getting such much as a syllable in. Essentially just dumped into a strange new world their first outing in the end had them pointed towards a familiar sight: The bar of Valhalla where Jill worked at. They are regulars after all, and it was sort of an apology for the way things were processed earlier that day. Dorothy, Jill and her Heralds Dana and Gillian made sure sure to welcome Sei and Stella in open arms.
  • They both share a close relationship with one another, which may or may not be something more as some people have thought to themselves when seeing them both. In middle school they both won the award for "Best Couple" three years in a row, and that's not accounting for the fact that they never even went the same middle school to begin with. According to Sukeban Games, two of Stella's fetishes include success and "Buff [Redacted]". And Sei's everyday clothing highlights how jacked she actually is without any armor in the way. Even conceptually they were to be paired together because: "They look cute together, let’s make them besties!". In a certain Crossover (more on that later) their regular art has them possessing charms of each other's likeness and their alternate costumes is them literally wearing each other's default clothing.
  • One day when they were both young the two were taken hostage by a White Knight. Under a lot of pressure from being cornered, the rogue officer proceeded to gouge Stella's right eye out. Sei tried to stop him but she ended up getting brutally beat up in her attempted efforts. They were saved by another White Knight, taking down his superior, and he rushed the two kids into the hospital. Suffice to say, neither of them are at all fond of the various Dirty Cops running around in the Pantheon. And that's not taking account of the Apollo Trust Bank incident where Sei was sent in by her superiors to be a pawn. Or when in the aftermath of said incident the true extent of their corruption would be exposed and they would try and pull a takeover only to be halted by Zaibatsu Corp flipping the kill switch on their armor while other authorities and lynch mobs dealt with them personally.
Jill: Just what transpired in that bank?
    Sei: It's not important anymore.
  • Mae Boroski, being reminded of her own friendship with Beatrice Santello, became good buds with the two after meeting them one day . With that said she doesn't have any intention of accompanying them to their trips to VA-11 Hall-A. She gets wasted way too easily by drinking. Sei says that she and Stella aren't much of drinkers anyway (Stella herself saying she's a social drinker) and that Jill is able to serve soft drinks, but Mae doesn't want to take any chances. Running around in the Pantheon naked can instill that kind of caution to you.
  • In an Alternate Universe, Griffin and Kryuger would take a short visit to Glitch City. Sei and Stella would arrange a meeting with some of the T-Dolls not for business but moreso a meet for fans of *Kira* Miki. Thunder, along with the rest of her band members, are such fans themselves having played a cover of one of the Lilim idol's songs. In the Pantheon they have since continued the meet-ups with Thunder along with her teammates even if none of them have ascended. As for the other dolls like Contender and G36 she frequently hires them as help.
    • There also exists yet another Alternate Universe involving G&K's T-Dolls. It's the one that takes place in Griffon City where Sei is the Token Human of the White Knights and good friends with Jericho. This is despite the fact that Jericho has already passed away in the main universe and this should be the same in the first alternate universe considering how similar that one is to the main one. It's also the one where Stella is able to hijack machinery thanks to her affinity with the Parapluie Virus and is able to participate in combat with miniature puppet versions of herself. This universe is a fake, fabricated from the drunken thoughts of a lightweight T-Doll coming into contact with a cloud of nanomachines. In danger of being annihilated should said doll awaken, the pair along with other inhabitants managed to escape by having themselves be put into T-Doll replicas of themselves. When this tidbit of information was relayed to them, they thought it was joke that some of the T-Dolls roped their friends into. It was not.
(Jill and Dorothy averted their eyes while Dana trailed off into a nervous laugh.)
    Stella: ... Seriously?
Gillian: Hard to believe myself, really. Jill and Boss gave that same exact reaction when I asked.
Sei: How do I... take this in, exactly?
  • Sei only:
    • A kind young woman and overtly a good person who simply wants to help people, something that is not that common of a sight her time. Especially so since she was apart of an entire organization who's mostly filled with Corrupt Cops, highlighting her altruism even more. She wasn't always like this, however. When Sei was younger she was a bitter youth due to an upbringing surrounding both her drug-addicted alcoholic father and teacher's impatience with her learning disability. It wasn't until later that she would clean up her act and grow up to the polite Sei people would know today, possibly from remembering the kindness by the White Knight who saved her and Stella's life from his superior.
    • Though she is very nice and a bit slow, she is not by any means soft or dumb. Sei is not only knowledgeable in Krav Maga but is also tanky enough that a 2 centimeter cut isn't enough to hinder her and actually taken down a haywire robot down on her own. It's been stated by Stella that when things are framed in a familiar way to her she learns pretty fast. Sei also shows an ability to be perceptive, being able to list off many of Dorothy's mods she has installed on herself, one of which including one on the Lilim's own tongue. In addition, while she has forgotten her helmet many a time back when she was a White Knight she is able to reference and recite very specific laws and clauses verbatim.
    • After with the affair at the bank she now works as Stella's bodyguard, essentially getting paid to be by her side which she does so anyways with the time they usually spend together. While Sei doesn't have a desire to go into the police she does want to expand in her current job, little by little, and it hasn't stopped her from becoming allies with those who are involved with them like Cole Phelps and Big Band. The latter has sympathized with Sei when it came to her just being used as disposable pawn in the bank affair as Big Band himself ended up the way he is today when he found out the hard way not everyone shared his moral compass.
Sei: 'When the word of law falls, pick it up and hold it higher!' Heh. I like the sound of that, actually.
    • While running to meet with Stella she managed to bump into a group consisting of Akihiko, Chie, and Makoto. What began as a quick chat while waiting for the bus after Akihiko pointed Sei shares a couple similarities with his fellow SEES/Shadow Operative, Fuuka Yamagishi, it quickly shifted into a more lengthy conversation, one that Sei would soon have with the three more often during her rounds in the Pantheon. Perhaps it should be owed to the three Persona-users' desire to get into law enforcement themselves. Only Makoto took longer to be amicable with Sei considering she heard the ex-Valkyrie didn't want to look too deep into her co-workers dirty history though came around when she realized Sei really did take her job as a rescue worker to heart. It's what saved her life even. That, and the Phantom Thief thought that her superiors throwing Sei under the bus as a sacrificial pawn was despicable.
    • Given what she went through in school, Sei holds Agatha Trunchbull and Baldi with a special kind of contempt. Given what kind of person Sei is, that says a lot. This kind of feeling also extends to the Child Abuse Supporters as well. Although, given the kind of people they are it shouldn't be all that surprising they'd bring about that side of Sei, the one who beat her father to near death multiple times.
    • Though Sei isn't one to hide the fact she has a learning disability she was also against being labelled as "special" or "different". It was why she chose to be a dropout as opposed to taking a special course in some other school: The notion would of just offended her. As stated above, however, it does little in overshadowing Sei's various strengths.
    • Though she doesn't give off the impression of being a musical type she likes singing and hearing people sing. In general it lifts her spirits although she's been told her singing voice isn't very good. Atrocious, in fact. Sei's good at the harmonica, though. She would of gone with playing a tuba but it's not easy to carry around with.
    • "This world has an ugly side nobody deserves to be a part of."
  • Stella only:
    • Before she was even born her doctors diagnosed her with Nanomachine Rejection and thus to survive her parents put her through the procedure to become a Cat Boomer. While Stella would grow up a bit weak she would ultimately be alive in the end and in the hands of a caring family. Though she can act like a haughty aristocrat and fully admits to putting on a "business mask" when dealing with unpleasant high-class people on a daily basis, Stella is much like Sei in that she's a kind person as well as much as she acts tough on the surface. Aside from that she has a bit of a dorkish side too. Two examples of this include her knowledge of Henshin and her die-hard love for *Kira* Miki.
    • In a nutshell she's essentially a genetically engineered Catgirl though for her she's part of the few who became so out of necessity. Story is word of its success on its first subject (not her) came around it quickly became a dumb trend as parents rushed have their kids get cat ears as well. It's where the term 'Cat Boomer' originally came from but overtime it shifted towards their offspring instead. Connotation, ladies and gentlemen. Oh and those "ears" don't actually serve a purpose, by the by, as even though they twitch and react much like the real deal she can't actually hear with them.
    • Though the Pantheon has its fare share of bad people of different flavors across the different realities that doesn't quite overshadow the amount of good people living there too. And she's genuinely thankful to be given the pleasure to be allowed to meet with the latter, even if she may not outwardly show it. During the times where she and Sei were starting out Stella was out making appointments with various people to establish connections for herself and in doing so managed to meet with Mitsuru Kirijo and Haru Okumura. While expecting the two to be pricks like some of the people she has had the displeasure of doing business with Stella was surprised to find that they are very nice and in continued meetings with them. Part of her can't help but envy the two for their strengths given that she had to basically rely on Sei throughout much of her life. Still, they're certainly more pleasant company than say the Reagan siblings or Morris whom she outright calls them pricks on multiple occasions.
    • Due to the incident involving her being attacked by a corrupt White Knight Stella reacts poorly if people she doesn't know make any comments or draw attention to her cybernetic eye. When she's particularly on edge anything that may seem to make note of it draws a similar reaction though she's able to recognize this and relent. She would like to make it clear that she has since moved on from the incident and it's just that any attention drawn to said eye hurts a little.
    • Apparently, Stella's chest is a lot larger than they look and is quite self-conscious about them. The only reason she doesn't up and change it is because in that regard she takes after her mother. As such, she takes great measures to hide them and for this reason also styles her hair into large twintails as a distraction.
    • Her birthday is on the 25th of December, in other words Mega Christmas Day. When she was younger she somehow got the idea she was a spiritual reincarnation of the original Santa Claus and it caused her to be very generous in gift giving. She got over it, of course, but she still gives loads of toys to kids every Mega Christmas. Due to this generosity she is often nicknamed "Auntie Ella" by said kids, something that sort of rubs her the wrong way as people just refer to Sei by her regular name. Old Saint Nick himself found that whole tidbit about the Cat Boomer quite amusing much to Stella's utter embarrassment though he was quick to make an addendum on how what she does during those days is quite admirable and that secret about her being a reincarnation is safe with himself.
      • If you're wondering: Yes, this trend of giving gifts in Mega Christmas parties she hosts continues in the Pantheon. The Pantheon may not celebrate the bastardized version of the holiday from her world, but Stella doesn't mind. She's always really happy in these times of the year, not just Christmas. Any holiday is worth throwing a party over. Often, Stella finds herself assisted by Pinkie Pie for this very reason and the Cat Boomer finds her quite a valuable partner through all this.
    • Perhaps as a result of growing up weak she gets sick from flying car rides in her world. This, of course, would mean Stella goes out of her way avoiding taking a rides in the air... along with avoiding people who Drives Like Crazy like with the West Coast Cabbies.
    • "Being a nice person will take you far, though. My daddy always insisted that 'being ruthless in the boardroom doesn't mean being an ass.'"

    Mary and Max
Mary Daisy Dinkle and Max Jerry Horowitz, Divine Pen Pals
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marymaxtvtp.jpg
  • Quasideities
  • Symbol: Chocolate hot dogs, condensed milk, Noblets figurines and Max's yarmulke with Mary's red pompom on top
  • Theme Song: "Perpetuum Mobile, for orchestra"
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Pen Pals, Intergenerational Friendship, Be Yourself, Lonely Together

  • Enemies: Nurse Ratched
  • A friendless, neglected 8-year-old Australian girl going by the name of Mary Daisy Dinkle once randomly picked out an American name off a phone book and wrote a letter. Max Jerry Horowitz was the addressee, a 44-year-old Jewish man with Asperger's Syndrome living alone in New York City. Thus started a correspondence and friendship that lasted many years. Mary and Max often felt alone in a world that wasn't kind to them, but found solace in telling each other all about their daily life and their thoughts on various things. Their friendship went through some ups and downs due to Mary's accidental insensitivity to Max over his condition and Max sometimes stopping correspondence for months because of a meltdown, but it endured despite those setbacks. Eventually Mary grew up enough that she could finally come to visit Max personally, but sadly she arrived at his apartment to find him dead.
  • Having a child to raise, Mary moved on with her life, although she certainly never forgot her best friend. Some time later, while checking her mail for the day, she thought her mind was playing tricks on her when she saw a letter from Max. She was so shaken by it that she didn't open it for a long time, fearing it was a very distasteful prank, but then she remembered nobody knew about Max and her, so a prank was highly improbable, and also curiosity got the better of her and she read it. Thus she was presented with a self-admittedly pretty unbelievable story about Max being dead to her world but now existing in a place known as the Pantheon, from where he was writing to her. Despite how impossible it all sounded, Mary thought the writing was certainly like Max's, with all the sudden shifts in subject. Plus the whole Pantheon thing sounded too ludicrous to be a lie. So she took a chance and wrote back, thus restarting their correspondence.
    • At some point Mary was visited by a boy with white hair and a small girl with twintails. The boy was Lag Seeing, who said he was the postman who had delivered Max's letters to her and now he had a letter from the Pantheon's Main House. If she could be so kind as to sign, she could enter the Pantheon herself for a visit. For Mary, this was her long awaited chance to talk to Max in person, so after some slight hesitation, she decided to take the leap. She was not disappointed, landing directly in Max's temple, who explained he was offered to be the God of Pen Pals, but it didn't feel right if he didn't share it with her, hence why the Main House had sent her their summons. Mary and Max talked about various things for a long time, both before and after they got instated as deities. Afterwards Mary still stays in her world for long stretches because she still has a life to live and responsibilities, but she and Max keep in touch in their characteristic way that got them their status.
  • Lag Seeing keeps on delivering Mary and Max's letters to each other, having a vested interest in protecting their bond which was forged through correspondence. Mary and Max are grateful to him for caring so much and admire him for believing so sincerely in the power of letters that he's willing to weather the high-risk life of a Letter Bee (as postmen are known as in Lag's world). Mary and Max didn't think much about the people who carried their letters back in their world, but in the Pantheon, the stories of Lag, Niche and other deities working in that area have given them greater appreciation for their hard work in keeping people such as themselves connected.
  • The content of Mary and Max's correspondence back when Max was alive is public (seeing as it was committed to film and all), which was considerably embarrassing to the both of them, given not all of it is innocent. Max even had a huge meltdown when he found out, but this time Mary could be physically present to help him through it. They did come to terms with it in due time, which was helped by one particular delivery of letters written by the Auto-Memories Doll Violet Evergarden, who explained her story of being raised as a soldier since childhood and later retiring into a career of writing letters for others so she could understand what love is. She then told them that she found their correspondence a very good example of what love entails, as their connection to each other held strong even when they had disagreements and they didn't forget each other despite stopping the flow of letters for quite some time. Mary and Max were touched by this, and that's why they no longer mind everybody knows their business from back then, given it's apparently so precious to some people. (But they are glad their present correspondence has stayed private, thank you very much.)
  • Mary and Max have also gotten mail from deities like Peppa Pig and Charlie Brown telling them all about their own experiences with being/having Pen Pals. Peppa had quite an harmonious relationship with hers, while in Charlie Brown's case it ended somewhat badly as he fantasizing being with his pen pal, Morag, only to discover she had 30 other pen pals and Charlie wasn't particularly special. On the other hand, later he became pen pals with the Little Red-Haired Girl, which is a rare point in his favor. Mary and Max advised Peppa and Charlie to always treasure their pen pals and to be considerate of them.
  • Max's favorite food is a peculiar thing known as the chocolate hot dog, consisting of a chocolate bar inside a hot dog bun. It's now available at the House of Food for deities to try; one also has the option to slather it with condensed milk, Mary's own favorite food (at least when she was a little girl). All-in-all it's a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it affair, with many pointing out that Max's obesity and relatively early death probably came from pigging out on the hot dogs, so the novelty treat feels a bit morbid in a way. None of this has stopped Max from enjoying all the chocolate hot dogs he feels like, especially as he's well-aware that he's now effectively immortal. Children also seem to like the hot dogs a lot, to the annoyance of parental deities.
  • Mary's mom was an alcoholic kleptomaniac and her dad liked to hole himself up in a shed to stuff dead birds. They paid little attention to her, which contributed to her feelings of loneliness. They did seem to care for her in their own way, since they remembered her birthday and mom was concerned that a grown man was communicating with her daughter (Mary got Max to address his letters to her friendly agoraphobic neighbor to get around this). Her parents remained aloof until their bizarre deaths, so Mary takes interest in children in similar situations of Parental Neglect as herself and wants to be there to support them in case it ends badly. Maisie Farange had a significantly happier story than Mary, since while she was faced with her parents' neglect while they were divorcing and busy with their careers, they were at least self-aware enough to leave her to a couple who could give her the love and attention she needed. Maisie is happy, though she still gets a bit sad about her biological parents, so Mary hangs out with her on occasion and has also introduced her to Max. Maisie finds that Max has a lot of interesting and funny thoughts and she overall enjoys spending time with him and Mary.
  • Mary and Max are both huge fans of the Noblets, a children's cartoon back in their world. One of the things they both admire about the Noblets is how they have "oodles of friends" (reflecting Mary and Max's own desire to find friendship). The two were rather disappointed when they found out the Noblets not only were not the Pantheon, but were also unlikely to ever ascend as too little is known about them. This has led to Max sending many a Strongly Worded Letter to the Main House explaining how the Noblets are entirely deserving of ascension, at least until Mary convinced him to let it go. On the other hand, they discovered similar characters were around, such as the Smurfs. They may not be the Noblets, especially as the Noblets' color is brown, not blue, but the similarities made them close enough that Mary and Max enjoy visiting them and the Smurfs were interested in hearing about the Noblets.
  • Max's more severe meltdowns occasionally got him to go through some painful therapy before it was understood what his condition was. Now he is quite happy with being someone who has Asperger's Syndrome and does not believe he is in need of being fixed or cured. Unfortunately there are still people who are not so understanding, and that includes a few deities in medical fields. Max has heard of Nurse Ratched and her cruel treatment of the patients in the insane asylum she runs, which gives him nightmares of falling into her clutches. Ratched herself shakes her head at how "Aspies" are let off too easily and thinks they would benefit from her treatment so they can become "fully normal" members of society. At that, Mary herself addressed the nurse a Strongly Worded Letter about the definition of "normal people", which is more likely to include Max than sadistic nurses like her.

    Noah Cullen and Joker Jackson
Noah Cullen and John "Joker" Jackson, Gods of Being Chained Together

L-R: Noah and John/Joker
  • Quasideities
  • Symbol: Their cuffs
  • Theme Music: Noah's rendition of "Long Gone (From The Bowlin' Green)"
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Chained Heat
  • Domains: Prison, Escape, Friendship, Race
  • Allies: Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, Roger Rabbit, Eddie Valiant, Atticus Finch, Jean Valjean, Edmond Dantes
  • Complicated Relations: Shirley the Medium
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: CatDog
  • Noah Cullen and John "Joker" Jackson are convicts who got shackled together because their prison warden "had a sense of humor", the catch being that Noah is a black man, while Joker is (or was) a racist white man. When the truck that was carrying them along with several other prisoners crashed, Noah and Joker took the chance to make a run for it. The two did not get along at all at first, but their situation forced them to work together, especially with the sheriff and a posse after them. Despite their differences, Noah and Joker's shared adventure led to them bonding, to the point that neither of them would abandon the other to his fate. They were ultimately caught.
  • Another truck came to their prison to transport convicts, but this time, it was meant for Noah and Joker only. They figured it would probably take them to some Hellhole Prison as punishment for their escape attempt. They were even shackled together again. They were wrong on their assumption, as it was really meant to take them to a place called the Pantheon, for they had been chosen to become gods there. They thought it was all a pretty bad joke at first, until they got off the truck, saw the place for themselves and were brought before the Main House, that is. They were also told they were no longer prisoners and that they could start their lives anew from their shared temple. All things considered, this was a much better deal than being in prison, so they accepted. (Their shackles were taken off, by the way.)
    • Of course, their temple is in the House of Criminal Punishment, which basically IS the prison of the Pantheon. They were not happy about this, but then considering they are allowed more or less free rein of the Pantheon, they decided not to be too bothered about this, though it didn't stop Noah from constantly writing letters to the Court of Gods asking for a relocation, requests that were eventually granted by granting them a spot on Friendship Dynamics, which has become their preferred residence.
  • They're not keen on cops for obvious reasons, but they find themselves not minding Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, who incidentally oversaw the two ex-cons transportation into the Pantheon and also serve as their parole officers. It could be because, like Noah and Joker, Judy and Nick at first also worked together reluctantly and in not-so-friendly terms due to ingrained prejudice, but again like Noah and Joker, they were able to overcome their biases by bonding and forged an unbreakable friendship. Even if Judy and Nick being a rabbit and a fox respectively was something to get used to for Noah and Joker. Though they would have to sooner or later, considering the sheer range of things in the Pantheon that would be unreal in their world.
  • Much of the help they have gotten in establishing an honest living in the Pantheon has come from ex-cons Jean Valjean and Edmond Dantes, who are naturally sympathetic to Noah and Joker's story. For now, Noah and Joker work in the kitchens of the House of Food. Every so often, Joker gets the urge to start a get-rich-quick scheme out of his desire to be "Charlie Potatoes", with Noah doing his best to try to dissuade him.
  • A fair amount of deities went through similar experiences of being tied to someone without an easy way out of it, leading them to cooperate with other people that they would never have tolerated otherwise. Some of these deities have visited Noah and Joker to share their impressions of Chained Heat.
    • For example, it happened with Roger Rabbit and Eddie Valiant, with the former handcuffing himself to the latter so he'd help the rabbit with clearing his name. When they got to the part about how Roger could slip out of the cuffs through Toon Physics and Rule of Funny, Noah sarcastically asked Joker how come he could never do that. The fact that Eddie Valiant also grappled with prejudice, in this case against toons, and was able to get past it in his dealings with Roger was also relatable to Noah and Joker, even if they find the notion of racism against toons a bit strange (why hate something so funny?).
    • Speaking of toons, they were rather amused to learn there was a Sylvester cartoon called D' Fightin' Ones lampooning their movie. It starts much the same, with Sylvester on the run while handcuffed to a bulldog, and ends with the two free from their shackles, but joined by their legs stuck through a can (it's Toon Physics, don't question it). Despite their attempt to escape not working out so well, Noah and Joker are still able to see the humor in similar situations played for laughs.
  • Atticus Finch got a bittersweet feeling out of their story. Living in the American South and having been assigned to defend a black man accused of raping a white woman, a thankless task to put it mildly, he is well-acquainted with the nasty consequences of prejudice. So it makes Atticus glad to know that even a convicted criminal like Joker had it in him to overcome his racism. He does not presume to make assumptions on whether or not Noah and Joker "deserved" jail time, given he wasn't involved. Either way, Noah and Joker (Noah especially) seem to have a lot of respect for Atticus for his great sense of integrity.
  • Joker is still kind of an abrasive jerk and not the most sensitive guy. So it was that he made the mistake of angering the medium Shirley by saying a few racist things about the Roma people in front of her (he and Noah happened upon her at a festival). To teach him a lesson, Shirley cursed Joker. Joker thought it was all hogwash, but then the next day he woke up to find he was fused with Noah at the shoulder (basically making them Conjoined Twins). Noah was, needless to say, annoyed to be dragged into Joker's mess and also that they were going to do that all over again. At any rate, they went to find Shirley, who referred to Joker as "the stupid one" and told them she'd need a hairball from CatDog to lift the curse.
    • And so it was how they met the cat and dog known for being fused at the navel, a lot less mystical than Noah and Joker were led to believe from Shirley's description. Cat was rather offended that Noah and Joker were not satisfied with their state and refused to give them any hairball. Of course this only resulted in Noah and Joker stealing the hairball from CatDog's temple at night while they slept. Either way, they got the hairball, took it to Shirley, who concocted the cure and warned Joker not to do that again, and that's the end of that chapter. Well, except for the part where Cat remains mad at them for taking the hairball, but Dog's own indifference (or cluelessness) to the hairball event makes sure that enmity is not very serious at any rate.

  • JD and Turk had decided that it was time to bring another group into the fold. And it wasn't long when they found candidates. Grace Adler had dated Will Truman in college. At the time, Grace did not know he was gay, and Will hadn't come out of the closet yet. When he did come out, it did not go well with Grace refusing to see him for a year. Thankfully, the two became lifetime friends ever since. It was even decided that the two had more stories to tell. For that, the two ascended for one of the few of such couples to stick around as friends.
  • As with most sitcom deities, the two received the blessing of the Ricardos. Granted it wasn't the type of relationship Lucy was accustomed to, but she is fine with supporting them all the same.
  • Trollkaiger was primed with source material to harass the couple. Much of it came from a mortal called Karen, a woman who has somehow continued to be involved in their lives even in the Pantheon. The group eagerly awaits the day of her ascension.
  • Their friendship appeared to be particularly vulnerable by one named Frank-N-Furter. Wanting to have some fun, he began dating ''both'' friends to see how long he can keep up the charade. After some time, the ruse was eventually discovered with the fallout potentially destroying their relationship. With some help from others within their house, the two managed to mend their friendship. Their next order of business was to put a restraining order on the homewrecker.
  • Which isn't to say they haven't done so before. They both enjoyed dating Jack Harkness, seeing him as a charming fellow. With that said, they refuse any attempt of having a threesome between the two. They respect their friendship too much for it to be muddled in a relationship. Yes, Grace considers gay porn to be hot. That doesn't mean she's willing do the same to Will.
  • A constant threat to the two has been Buck Hughes. Liking what he saw in Will, he set up an ambush set to kidnap him. Grace was there at the time and was prepared to fend him off, even is she was no match for him. The few seconds was enough for the Chick Magnet Quartet to arrive at the scene to ward him off. Both were grateful for the save and are now wary of Buck's presence.
  • Was given a shoutout from Logan of all people. Then again, it isn't as surprising as one would think. He has been in touch with more female X-Men than any other member by far, mentoring many other deities such as Jubilee and X-23. He still thinks Will is a dork, but one that knows how to treat a lady.
  • The two did not want to be definted by their brief romance towards each other, but had hoped that someone would represent such couples some day. That day happened with the arrival of Max and Penny. While the friends were happy for each other, they have too many differences to consistently hang out together.
  • Exclusive to Will:
    • Both Alfonzo and Amane are befuddled over where Will. Will initially acted as is he was on team Straight Gay, as one of the few gay people at the time who didn't act like the stereotype. Over time, his personality changed to the point that he would be considered Camp Gay, even with the reboot. As of right now, Will would rather not exchange loyalty to either person.
    • Is rather glad that people in the House of Justice consider him good-looking. He has long been the punching bag of his former boyfriend Jack, who has insisted that he should lose some weight.
    • His portrayal may not have been seen as much today, but it paved the way for more gay representation in Western fictions. Some of the old guard remain uncomfortable of that. The most prominent of those is Archie Bunker. Of course, he was involved in one of the most prominent episodes regarding gay characters. While he isn't ready to make friends with Will any time soon, he is willing to admit the show is high quality.
    • Goes by to check on Juzo every once in a while. He initially thought he would dislike someone who dislikes his secuality, but he realized there's a more tragic story behind it all. He is willing to help the boxer any way he can.
  • Exclusive to Grace:
    • Has long lamented her small breasts in comparison to her arch-nemesis Karen. Noel came by to state that she understands her pain and hopes she can undercome her shortcomings.
    • Was a welcome addition to those in the House of Food. She has proven to be a Big Eater, downing large amount of meals at a time. She really enjoys downing on cakes.
    • Will not for the life of her go anywhere near the House of Health and Diseases. Deathly afraid of needles, she strives to stay as healthy as possible. The fear is so bad, she even strives to avoid the Beatles if only because the name reminds her of 'needles'.
    • Was seen exiting Varric's temple with a few books at hand. When Will confronted her about it, Grace admitted that she had heard that Varric writes romance novels, so she asked him to make some custom stories with her. After that request, Varric is reconsidering if those types of books were an Old Shame after all.
