Playable Characters

Aaahh!!! Real Monsters

    Oblina

Oblina

Voiced by: Alex Cazares

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snake_0.png
From: Aaahh!!! Real Monsters
Debut: The Switching Hour - 10/29/1994
Playable in: 1
Special Attacks: Garbage Breath, Eye Lift, Spinout
Home Stage: The Dump

"Enough idle chatter. I am in the mood for scaring!"

The heiress of a wealthy monster family; Oblina decided to leave her life of luxury behind to chase her dream of becoming a scarer at Monster Academy, quickly becoming a high-scoring student thanks to her ability to pull out her internal organs as a scare tactic, as well as her shapeshifting talents. Despite her gifted background and skills, she usually finds herself paired up with underachievers Ickis and Krumm, who she considers some of her dearest friends, although their antics frequently annoy her.

See the Aaahh!!! Real Monsters page for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

  • Acid Attack: Her Garbage Breath attack has her spit out a purple goo.
  • Body Horror: Her down strong and aerial down strong attacks involve her attacking with her own heart.
  • Breath Weapon: Her neutral special involves coughing up noxious slime.
  • Cartoon Creature: She has the most abstract design in the game. Whereas most other characters are recognizably stylized humans or animals, Oblina is best described as a worm/bug/snake-like... thing.
  • Eye on a Stalk: She uses her eye stalks for some attacks.
  • Fragile Speedster: She's incredibly fast and good at comboing but is very light and doesn't hit particularly hard.
  • Heli-Critter: Oblina's up special involves her spinning her eyestalks like propellers to rise upward.
  • Home Stage: The Dump, a stage with several moving platforms that appear and disappear sporadically.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Her attacks have some range to them, and her Garbage Breath makes her good at zoning.
  • Man Bites Man: Her strong neutral and strong dash attack both involve biting.
  • Meteor Move: Oblina can use her heart to spike opponents straight down with her strong down air.
  • Multipurpose Tongue: Both of her strong up attacks involve her tongue.
  • Poisonous Person: Oblina's Big Scare and Air Chomp attack has poisonous, purple gas coming from her mouth. Her neutral special, Garbage Breath, has her spit up purple slime on the ground. She can spit pieces of trash while it charges.
  • Put on a Bus: She doesn't return as a playable character in 2.
  • Rolling Attack: Her Spinout special has her roll into opponents as well recover back to the stage.
  • Sore Loser: When she loses, she looks very annoyed looking away while crossing her arms and tapping her foot.
  • Spin Attack: Her neutral air, up special, and down special involve her spinning in some way.
  • Tail Slap: Both her light up attacks use her tail to attack. They're even directly called Tail Slap.
  • Taunt Button: She makes a scary face at the player.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: As seen in her Big Scare attack.

The Angry Beavers

    Angry Beavers

Daggett Doofus Beaver and Norbert Foster Beaver

Voiced by: Richard Steven Horvitz (Daggett), Nick Bakay (Norbert)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/angry_beavers_nasb2.png
From: The Angry Beavers
Debut: Born To Be Beavers - 4/19/1997
Playable in: 2
Home Stage: Angry Beavers' Dam

Daggett: "Desperate times call for desperate desperateness!"
Norbert: "It's time to fight like men!"

Suave, laid-back Norbert and hot-tempered, dumb as a box of nails Daggett are The Angry Beavers, the biggest thing since sliced bread (no, don't delete the entry! They’re literally bigger than sliced bread!). Living in a dam out in the forest, the two brothers get into wacky mischief… that is, if they’re not at each other’s throats.

See the The Angry Beavers page for more information pertaining to them from their home series.

  • 2xFore: Norbert's neutral special summons Daggett to toss pointy logs at opponents.
  • Assist Character: Whichever Beaver is not currently being played as can be summoned for help.
  • Company Cross References: Their jab attack is named "Slap City".
  • Edible Ammunition: For Daggett's side special, he summons Norbert for "Mashed Potato Blast" in which he fires pieces of mashed potato at opponents.
  • Golf Clubbing: Norbert uses a golf club for some attacks.
  • Limit Break: Their Super Attack has them attempting to fire the Mindulator Thingy... only for the weapon to fail, so they instead throw it at their opponent, sending them flying.
  • Pajama-Clad Hero: They wear pajamas for one of their palette swaps.
  • Swap Fighter: Their reveal trailer show that the two brothers can shift between each other.
  • Tornado Move: Daggett spins around like a tornado for his up special.
  • Weaponized Ball: One of Daggett's attacks is Excalibowl, a bowling ball stuck to some gum.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

    Aang

Avatar Aang

Voiced by: Dustin Sardella (1), Caz Inghram (2)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aang_nasb2.png
NASB1
Playable in: 1, 2
Home Stage: Western Air Temple

"When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change."

The last surviving member of the Air Nomads, Aang is the Avatar, meant to bring balance to the world by learning to bend the four elements: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. Initially afraid of the responsibility thrust upon him at such a young age, Aang ran away from home with his pet Sky Bison, Appa, and ended up frozen in ice.

100 years later, the Water Tribe siblings Katara and Sokka discovered and awoke him. In his absence, Aang found that the Fire Nation had waged war against the rest of the world. Together with his friends, Aang travels the world to complete his Avatar training, bring an end to the Hundred Years War, and save the world.

See Aang's page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Adaptational Wimp:
    • Despite being fully capable of using all four elements — Air, Water, Earth, and Fire — with ease by the end of the show, Aang could only use airbending for most of his moveset in the first game. The closest he gets to actively using the other elements is his Avatar State attack, which surrounds him with all four for a few seconds.
    • Averted in the second game, where he now uses Water, Earth, and Fire throughout his entire moveset. He still specializes in airbending, however.
  • All Asians Wear Conical Straw Hats: Aang wears one of these for his alternate costume.
  • Bald Mystic: He's the Avatar, who can duke it out with the rest of the game's roster using his ability to manipulate the four elements, and he has his season one appearance without hair.
  • Blow You Away: His main element, as the titular Last Airbender. In the first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl specifically, all of his attacks involve him exclusively using airbending, with the sole exception of when he uses Avatar State.
  • Desperation Attack: When Aang's damage reaches 100%, his Neutral Special changes to Avatar State, which has him attack by surrounding himself with all the elements the same way he does in his final battle with Fire Lord Ozai. Notably this is the only time he attacks with the other three elements in the first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: In 2, Aang's new strong down attacks have him attacking with earthbending. The grounded version summons raw shards of Earth, while the aerial version has green crystals instead.
  • Fragile Speedster: Aang is incredibly quick in the air and on the ground with his Air Ball special, but he's one of the lightest characters in the game.
  • Foil: To Korra, the other playable Avatar. Aang is a Fragile Speedster who only (barring his Avatar State) uses airbending, while Korra is a Mighty Glacier who uses all four elements throughout her moveset.
  • Home Stage: The Western Air Temple, a large stage with several floating platforms.
  • An Ice Person: Aang's new neutral special in 2, Ice Shard, has Aang use waterbending to summon ice shards that he can then shoot in front of him.
  • Martial Arts Staff: Many of his attacks involve his staff.
  • Not Quite Flight: For his up special, he jumps into the air with his glider, and can move left to right as he falls. Pressing the up special button again will make him dive to the ground.
  • Playing with Fire: In 2, Aang's new side special has him attacking with a blast of fire, referencing when he accidentally burned Katara's hands in "The Deserter".
  • Sphere Factor: His down special creates a ball of air that he rides on to charge into nearby opponents.
  • Taunt Button: He does the marble trick.

    Toph

Toph Beifong

Voiced by: Vivian Vencer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/clay_2.png
From: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Debut: The Swamp - 4/14/2006
Official debut: The Blind Bandit - 5/5/2006
Playable in: 1
Special Attacks: Boulder Hurl, Boulder Surge, Iron Boot
Home Stage: Omashu

"I love fighting. I love being an Earthbender!"

The daughter of well-to-do Earth Kingdom parents. Toph Beifong, a blind 12-year-old, is a prodigy in Earthbending and the first recorded Metalbender in history. However, her parents sought to keep her locked up at home, believing her to be completely helpless. A chance encounter with Aang allows her to fully escape her smothering parents and become his stalwart ally, as well as his Earthbending teacher.

See Toph's entry for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

  • Crippling Overspecialization: Downplayed; most of Toph's air attacks are both short-ranged and weaker than her ground based attacks, making aerial combat a poor option compared to ground combat. However, her down special lets her spawn a Temporary Platform if performed in the air, allowing her to access her powerful ground attacks and ensuring she isn't completely helpless.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Rather par for the course considering she's an Earthbender and uses stone-based attacks for a majority of her moves.
  • Glass Cannon: Toph has some of the strongest ground attacks in the game and is extremely good at zoning, but is very light and isn't nearly as powerful in the air.
  • Handicapped Badass: Being blind doesn't slow her down a bit.
  • Home Stage: Omashu, the Earth Kingdom Aang visited during the first season. It is a large stage with several platforms and stage hazards in the form of the Omashu delivery carts. Ironically, Toph never actually visited the kingdom during the series.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Downplayed; while the rest of her moveset is comprised of her fighting and bending skills, two of her attacks have her use the champion's belt from the Earth Rumble tournament.
  • Logical Weakness: Toph is an Earthbender who relies on her ability to feel the Earth's vibrations to fight. As a result, while she's very comfortable on terra firma, her attacks are significantly weakened in the air.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Toph's attacks have a lot of range on the ground. Her air attacks are more close-range.
  • Not Quite Flight: Her down special, when used in the air, creates a floating stone platform. She can do this once per jump.
  • Put on a Bus: Toph is completely missing in action in 2.
  • Taunt Button: Toph's taunt is her waving her hand in front of her face, reminding everyone she's blind, in the same manner as in "The Library". The narrator on her moveset showcase video remarks that "you can't see her" when she does it.
  • Temporary Platform: She can spawn rock platforms in the air beneath her for her down special and they last for a little while.
  • Use Your Head: Her light down air is "Headbutt".

    Azula

Azula

Voiced by: Suzie Yeung

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/azula_nasb2.png
From: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Debut: The Storm - 6/3/2005
Playable in: 2
Home Stage: Fire Masters Meeting

"I will enjoy your suffering!"

Daughter of Fire Lord Ozai and younger sister of disgraced Prince Zuko, Princess Azula is a firebending prodigy, being able to unleash devastating blue flames and its adjacent skill in lightning bending. Cunning, sadistic, an expert tactician and a devastating fighter, Azula crushes anyone who opposes her, even the Avatar himself, with the exception of one thing: her crippling desire for attention and love.

See Azula's page for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

  • Glass Cannon: Azula is noted to be very fast and packing a lot of powerful attacks but is incredibly lightweight and has a lackluster recovery.
  • Playing with Fire: Naturally, being a Firebender, she uses a lot of fire-based attacks in combat.
  • Shock and Awe: Her Down Special has Azula fire a powerful lightning bolt from her hands, a technique that only very skilled Firebenders can do.
  • Technicolor Fire: Azula attacks with blue fire.

    Zuko

Zuko

Voiced by: Vincent Tong

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zuko_nasb2.png
ZUKO HAS COME FOR THE THRONE!
Playable in: 2 (DLC)
"I'm fighting for my honor. What are you fighting for?"

The disgraced son of Fire Lord Ozai, Zuko was scarred by his own father for speaking up against him and forced to find the Avatar, thought to be nothing more than a fool's errand. However, with the Avatar's sudden return, Zuko would hunt down the young airbender, determined to regain his lost honor by bringing him home, not realizing that he would find something much greater in allying with him.

Zuko was revealed on October 31, 2023 alongside Mr. Krabs, Iroh and Rocksteady as part of the Season Pass. He is the second character included in the Pass and was released on April 24, 2024.

See Zuko's page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

    Iroh

Iroh

Voiced by:

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iroh_nasb2.png
Playable in: 2 (DLC)

The older brother of Fire Lord Ozai, Iroh is also the uncle of Prince Zuko and Princess Azula. Once a fierce general in line for the Fire Nation throne, he forsook his bloodthirsty ways following the death of his son, Lu Ten, replacing his thirst for conquest with one for tea. Following Zuko's exile, Iroh became a mentor and protector to his nephew. Despite his eccentric demeanor, he can still be the formidable warrior he was in his younger years. Did we mention that he really loves his tea?

See Iroh's page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

CatDog

    CatDog

Cat & Dog

Voiced by: Jim Cummings (Cat), Tom Kenny (Dog)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chimera_3.png
From: CatDog
Debut: Dog Gone - 4/4/1998
Playable in: 1
Special Attacks: Hairball (Cat), Boomerang Bone (Dog), The Mighty, Tag Team
Home Stage: CatDog's House

Cat: "You have to wake up pretty early in the afternoon to beat this cat."
Dog: "Two heads are more than one!"

An odd pair of waist-conjoined twins consisting of, well, a cat and a dog. While they are literally inseparable, their personalities are in direct opposition to each other. The elder brother, Cat, is a sophisticated schemer, while the younger Dog is a car-chasing nitwit. Their clashing personalities often draw the ire of those around them, forcing them to humorously work through their differences.

See the CatDog page for more information pertaining to them from their home series.

  • Achilles' Heel: Their center has no hitbox during their Neutral Air attacks, so they can easily be hit there.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: They bicker and fight through the whole match but also work together in battle. And when they win, they celebrate and dance together happily or when their teammate wins a team battle, they can be seen shaking hands contently in the background.
  • Ballistic Bone: Dog's neutral special has him cough up a bone which can be used as a boomerang.
  • Bash Brothers: Two conjoined twins who fight together, often with one another, even.
  • Battle Boomerang: Dog's neutral special has him spit up a bone that comes right back, like a boomerang.
  • Big Ball of Violence: Their Dashing Strong involves weaponizing one.
  • Competitive Balance: Each of them change some of their move properties in ways that're meant to stay balanced:
  • Confusion Fu: Since they can swap out at any time, one of their specialties is confusing the opponent as to which head is currently active, harkening to Voldo from Soulcalibur.
  • Divergent Character Evolution: A voice-acting example: owing to them both being voiced by Tom Kenny, Dog's voice originally sounded much like SpongeBob.note  As a result, Dog's voice in the first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is deeper and more guttural to make him more distinct.
  • Dogs Love Fire Hydrants: Owing to the fact that one-half of them is a dog, their downward strong attack is smacking someone with a golden hydrant (from the CatDog episode of the same name).
  • Foil: To Ren & Stimpy, another two-in-one fighter consisting of a cat and dog duo from The '90s. While CatDog are two heads on one body and tag out so the player primarily controls one at a time, Ren and Stimpy are two separate entities that function as a single duo fighter. Also, while Stimpy comforts Ren if they've lost the match, Cat strangles Dog in frustration instead.
  • Hairball Humor: Cat coughs up a hairball for his neutral special.
  • Home Stage: CatDog's House, a basic stage with high platforms.
  • Idle Animation: Dog gives a small hop, Cat shakes his head, then they attempt to look at each other, failing as they turn their heads in the other's opposite direction.
  • Jerkass: Compared to the rest of the cast, Cat comes across as the biggest jerk, ironically moreso than the psychopathic Ren and megalomaniac Zim, because Zim and Ren don't blame their partners for losing while Cat physically takes out his anger on Dog for them losing.
  • Long-Range Fighter: They're a Dhalsim-styled zoner who can melee at distance through sheer range.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Cat and Dog can swap out their current head at any time to change the effects of certain attacks, which can be used to catch opponents off guard.
  • Multiple Head Case: Unlike Smash's transforming duo characters, Cat and Dog are conjoined twins connected via a long, stretchy body who simply swap positions rather than transforming in any capacity.
  • Never My Fault: Cat angrily grabs Dog and shakes him around when they lose a match, basically putting all the blame on Dog instead of himself or the both of them for losing.
  • Put on a Bus: Along with Toph and Oblina, CatDog is completely absent from 2.
  • Sliding Scale of Gameplay and Story Integration: Their Stance System puts the generally smarter Cat as a Fragile Speedster and the typically dumber Dog as a Mighty Glacier.
  • Sore Loser: Cat takes out his frustration on Dog by strangling him when they lose a match.
  • Stance System: Like Voldo from the Soulcalibur games, they possess a Switch-Out Move that flips them around to baffle the opponent and alter the properties of a few of their moves, but it only applies to a few attacks rather than Cat and Dog having their own individual movesets. With Cat and Dog being two characters in one, this also makes them similar to the transforming duo fighters from Super Smash Bros. such as Zelda/Sheik and Pyra/Mythra, though not nearly as drastic.
  • Switch-Out Move: The two of them have a mechanic in which they're able to switch out whoever's in front by simply spinning around. This alters the properties of some of their moves, mainly their neutral special, forward strong move, and upward aerial strong move.
  • Taunt Button: They both smile and arch their back, looking like they're laughing and mocking their opponents.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: Several of CatDog's attacks involve Dog briefly becoming extremely muscular, like in the episode "Pumped".
  • Use Your Head: Their strong air attack has both Cat and Dog preform a headbutt on each side.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: While many of their attacks involve fighting with each other, they are still brothers, and they cheerfully celebrate together when they win a match.
  • Vocal Evolution: Likely due to them not having performed their characters in years, Jim Cummings as Cat and Tom Kenny as Dog sound somewhat different than they used to: Cat's voice is slightly deeper, and Dog's voice is less nasal and more distinct from SpongeBob.

Danny Phantom

    Danny Phantom

Daniel "Danny" Fenton/Danny Phantom

Voiced by: David Kaufman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/danny_phantom_nasb2.png
NASB1

From: Danny Phantom
Debut: Mystery Meat - 4/3/2004
Playable in: 1, 2
Home Stage: Ghost Zone (1), Clockwork's Lair (2)

"I'm going ghost!"

The main protagonist of his series, Danny Fenton is the son of ghost hunters and engineers Jack and Maddie Fenton. When he accidentally activates their latest project, the Ghost Portal, Danny is teleported to the Ghost Zone, a strange dimension resided by spirits and other supernatural beings. It's there that Danny is fused with ectoplasm at a molecular level, transforming him into a strange half-ghost with supernatural abilities such as becoming intangible and possessing others. Now armed with these powers, Danny protects his hometown of Amity Park from other paranormal threats, all while honing his powers even further.

See the Team Phantom page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Ambidextrous Sprite: Played straight with his hair and D symbol at launch, then averted for the latter when the Version 1.0.3 update made it so that Danny's D symbol wouldn't flip horizontally when facing left.
  • Bring It: His taunt move has him doing this accompanied by a "honk" sound effect.
  • Charged Attack: His Ghostly Wail can be charged to cover a wider range around him and increase knockback.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Most of his attacks deal damage at close range, even his Ghostly Wail (which in his home series was a long-range move).
  • Death or Glory Attack:
    • His Strong Down Air allows Danny to cover a lot of ground and move very quickly through the stage while damaging anyone on his path, but miss the landing and he's guaranteed to get self-KO'd.
    • His Ghostly Wail attack is extremely powerful and can be charged to gain more range and knockback, but Danny is left immobile for a short time after performing it, leaving him vulnerable if it misses.
  • Elemental Punch: His Frost Slash has him covering his fists on ice to attack.
  • Evil Counterpart: One of Danny's alts for the second game switches him out for Dark Danny, his evil future counterpart from "The Ultimate Enemy" (specifically, his younger version from when he merged with Vlad's ghost half before the ten-year Time Skip).
  • Eye Beams: His Ice Beam comes out of his eyes.
  • Flight: Some of his attacks make him fly, such as his Strong Down (Power Dash, which propels him forward while flying) or Strong Down Air (Power Crash, which makes him fly forward before crashing down to the ground).
  • Ghosts Abhor a Vacuum: One of his strong attacks has him using the Fenton Thermos like a pseudo-laser beam.
  • Glass Cannon: Danny is light on his feet and easy to launch off the stage, but he has great attack power and speed to compensate.
  • Herd-Hitting Attack: Many of his attacks deal damage around him.
  • Home Stage: The Ghost Zone, which features several moving platforms and large ceilings at the top of the stage.
  • An Ice Person: His Light Down (Ice Beam) and Light Down Air (Frost Slash) have him using ice to attack, although the icy effect is purely cosmetic and doesn't have any effect on battle.
  • Idle Animation: He briefly looks behind him before turning his head back.
  • In a Single Bound: He has a much higher jump than other characters, courtesy of his half-ghost nature.
  • Intangibility: His side special in 2, Going Ghost, allows him to phase through enemy attacks and projectiles to avoid taking damage.
  • Invulnerable Attack: His Spectral Leap makes him momentarily invulnerable until he reappears.
  • Kamehame Hadoken: His neutral special, Phantasmal Bolt. He fires ghostly projectiles from his hands.
  • Palette Swap: His alternate costume gives him a white bodysuit and black hair, resembling how he looked before he gained ghost powers.
  • Power Floats: He's a superhero who's half ghost, and his idle pose is him floating just above the ground.
  • Practical Taunt: The Rocko patch gave Danny a unique animation if he taunts while strafing, consisting of him dancing before pointing finger guns at the opponent. If the finger guns connect with an opponent, they will take heavy damage and be launched away.
  • Spam Attack: His Light attacks are very fast and have little interval, which makes them good for combos.
  • Spring Jump: His Spectral Leap makes him jump/teleport high in the air, dealing damage to everyone in his range.
  • Super-Scream: His Ghostly Wail, a powerful charged move, where he lets out a shockwave from screaming.
  • Taunt Button: He spins in place and does a "come get some" pose.
  • Three-Point Landing: He does this pose on his victory screen.

    Ember

Ember McLain

Voiced by: Tara Strong

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ember_nasb2_82.png
From: Danny Phantom
Debut: Fanning The Flames - 10/8/2004
Playable in: 2
Home Stage: Pariah's Keep

"When this is all over, they'll remember my name!"

One of the ghastly members of Danny Phantom's Rogues Gallery, Ember McLain is ready to throw one of the best rock concerts of your afterlife! Ember wants nothing more than to have people all over the world remember her name, and her hypnotic music makes that a cinch by putting Amity Park's citizens under her control. Her killer songs and ectoplasm producing guitar have made her a thorn in Danny's side more than once.

See the Danny Phanton Villains page for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

  • Darkand Troubled Past: Implied. In a conversation with Vlad in the game's story mode, he bluntly states what he thinks of her attempts at gaining love by mind-controlling fans.
Vlad: "Deep inside, you're still that little girl yearning for the love of a mindless audience. And you think I'm pitiful..."
  • Dressed to Plunder: One of her pallet swaps is a pirate costume, the same one she wore during her villain team up with Youngblood and his crew in the series.
  • Musical Assassin: Ember can strum on her guitar to create projectiles or ecto-shields to fight her opponents.
  • Ocular Gushers: She responds to losing a match by crying her eyes out.
  • Playing with Fire: Ember uses her flaming hair for her strong up attack.
  • Sore Loser: Ember cries her eyes out whenever she loses a match.

El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera

    El Tigre

Manuel Pablo Gutierrez O'Brian Equihua "Manny" Rivera/El Tigre II

Voiced by: Alanna Ubach

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/el_tigre_nasb2_6.png
From: El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera
Debut: Night of the Living Guacamole - 2/19/2007
Playable in: 2
Special Moves: Rugido, El Gancho, Destello, Ilusión
Home Stage: Miracle City Volcano

"You will fall, this I swear!"

Manny Rivera is the latest of a long line of Riveras who have become masked superpowered beings. Donning the belt buckle of the original El Tigre, Manny takes up his mantle as he tries to decide whether he wants to be a legendary hero like his father, White Pantera, or an evil supervillain like his Grandpapi, Puma Loco.

See the El Tigre page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: He mainly attacks with his claws that are always sharp.
  • Close-Range Combatant: All of El Tigre's attacks are close range.
  • Diving Kick: El Tigre preforms a downward kick for his strong down aerial.
  • Easter Egg: On rare occasions, when selecting Manny on the character select screen, the announcer will use his full name "Manuel Pablo Gutierrez O'Brian Equihua Rivera".
  • Glass Cannon: As a rushdown character, Manny sports great speed and overwhelming offense, but he's also very light and easy to launch.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: A big part of the show is him deciding if he wants to be a hero or villain. Referenced in the game by one victory screen having him heroically posing in a shining background, while the other has him laughing menacingly in front of flames.
  • Spin Attack: A few of his attacks involve spinning.

Garfield

    Garfield

Garfield

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/garfield_nasb2.png
NASB1
GARFIELD HAS JOINED THE GAME!
From: Garfield
Character debut: Jon - 1/8/1976
Official debut: Garfield - 6/19/1978
Animated debut: The Fantastic Funnies - 5/15/1980
Playable in: 1 (DLC), 2
Special Attacks: Pie Party! (1)/Old-School Shine, Feral Cat, Pooky (in 1)/Sugar Rush (2)
Home Stage: Sweet Dreams (1), Food Dream (2)

The iconic, lazy, lasagna-eating, dog-kicking, Monday-hating fat cat of the newspaper comic scene, created in 1976 and syndicated daily since 1978. Born in an Italian restaurant, he lives a simple life in an average neighborhood with his dorky owner, a cartoonist named Jon Arbuckle. He often feuds with Jon's other pet, Odie the simple-minded mutt, as well as the self-proclaimed "world's cutest kitten", Nermal. When he isn't making snarky jokes about the world around him, he finds time to cuddle his favorite teddy bear, Pooky.

Garfield is a base roster character who was planned to be on the launch build, but was shortly delayed due to time constraints, and was officially revealed two months after launch on December 7, 2021. He also claims the title of the oldest character in the roster, beating the Ninja Turtles by five years.

See the Garfield page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Acrofatic: He is portly and chubby but can keep up with the other fighters.
  • Adaptational Badass: A variant; in his prior appearances on various media, Garfield's fighting abilities range from feeble to savage. His portrayal here is relevant in comparison to the "Garfield Meets The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" comic, where he was helpless against them.
  • Attack Reflector: One of his new attacks in the sequel is his "old-school shine", which turns him into his 1978 design and allows him to reflect projectiles that way.
  • Badass Adorable: His down special where he throws Pooky to his opponents and then brings him back with a hug is absolutely one of the cutest special attacks that you'll ever try.
  • Big Eater: His defining character trait, he loves to eat all kinds of food and his home stage is even an entire world made of food within his own dreams. One of his idle animations has him eat a whole pie in one swallow, his up strong attack has him scarf down a tray of lasagna, and his victory animation has him juggle a donut, a pie, and a lasagna before eating all three.
  • Cartoon Juggling: Upon winning a match, Garfield briefly juggles a donut, a pie, and a lasagna in a circle before catching all three in his mouth.
  • Companion Cube: Garfield's beloved teddy bear Pooky is used as his down special where he can set him on the stage and call him back from anywhere, knocking opponents out of the way.
  • Deadly Lunge: Feral Cat, his up special, acts like Incineroar's Cross Chop; he pounces upward and then descends.
  • Developer's Foresight: If you play as him in the campaign for 2, Vlad and Clockwork have special dialogue that accounts for the fact that Garfield exclusively speaks in his thoughts, and therefore, they can't understand him.
  • Dressed to Plunder: He has a pirate costume for one of his pallet swaps in the second game.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Nickelodeon bought the rights to the Garfield franchise in 2019, but since they have yet to produce a new show for him, his appearance and moveset here are based mostly on the comic, with some nods to Garfield and Friends.
  • Edible Ammunition: For Garfield's neutral special, he throws either a whipped cream pie or one of two fruit pies forward.
  • Edible Bludgeon: Garfield's up light attack has him hoist a donut above his head, while his neutral strong has him slam a chicken leg in front of him.
  • Foil: To the Ninja Turtles. Both are the stars of huge multimedia franchises that Nickelodeon bought the rights to from a different company, and their appearances in the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl games are based on their respective cartoons from the 80s. However, while the Turtles have had two reboots produced by Nickelodeon at the time of the game's release, Garfield has not.
  • Furry Reminder: His crouching animation has him sit down on all fours like a real cat.
  • Gasshole: Garfield's strong neutral aerial has him let out a burp, complete with Written Sound Effect.
  • Guest Fighter: Not a Nickelodeon character but his franchise was bought by Viacom a couple years before the first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was released, retroactively making him part of the Nick family. (Though if you want to get technical, Garfield and Friends reruns did air on Nickelodeon in the late 1990s).
  • Hating on Monday: Naturally, this comes up in one of his quotes. Notably, his reveal happened on a Tuesday. Make of that what you will.
  • Hey, That's My Line!: Should you bring him to Gary the Snail in the second game's campaign mode, Garfield will react with this upon hearing him meow.
  • Home Stage: Sweet Dreams, which takes place in his dreams and is filled with food, taking place on a huge pan of lasagna..
  • Hyperactive Metabolism: His main gimmick in the sequel is that his food-related attacks drop sweets that he can eat, which contribute to a meter that allows him to enter a sugar rush.
  • Jack of All Stats: Garfield can fight up close with melee attacks, from long-range with pies, and zone out the opponent with Pooky. He also has decently high weight and can move surprisingly quickly with wavedashing, allowing him to easily fight from a variety of positions. In the sequel, he's been rebalanced a bit; while he still is an all-rounder, with new abilities including an Attack Reflector and the ability to buff his movement speed, the tweaks to his pies and the removal of Pooky mean that he's susceptible to being out-ranged.
  • Loophole Abuse: Most projectiles in the game are programmed to cause an increasingly-long cooldown if used repeatedly, as to discourage players from spamming them indiscriminately. However, Garfield's Pie Party! is not subject to this limitation because each of the three pies are considered separate projectiles altogether, so Garfield actually can spam pies as much as the player wants.
  • Medium Blending: Some of Garfield's moves use thought bubbles and speech bubbles, harkening back to his roots as a newspaper comic strip character.
  • Meteor Move: Garfield has two:
    • One of his pies can spike the opponent on contact.
    • His strong down aerial is a stomp that can spike opponents.
  • Pie in the Face:
    • Garfield's neutral special in the first game, Pie Party!, has him chuck one of three varieties of pie forward as a Hadoken-style projectile, with the three coming in sequence. The first pie has whipped cream, hits multiple times, and knocks the enemy forward to lead them into subsequent hits. The second is a more standard fruit pie that deals a single hit and knocks the enemy upwards (or downwards if they're in the air when they're hit). The third pie is a fruit pie with different filling (visually exploding with a more purple color than the second pie's red) that temporarily stuns the opponent. Sadly, there's no "SPLUT!" when it hits someone.
    • In the second game, the pies are now his side special, and they've been changed a bit. Their effects are simplified; the first pie knocks opponents back, the second one shoots them up, and the third sends them toward you. The slime-boosted version creates a larger pie that hits multiple times, like the whipped cream pie in the first game.
  • Skill Gate Characters: Alongside SpongeBob, Garfield is one of the more recognizable characters in the game and has a relatively simple moveset ideal for newcomers, able to cover all of the bases effectively without being the best at any one in particular. This idea is supported by the box art for the sequel, which features him prominently opposite SpongeBob.
  • Sore Loser: His losing animation has him bawling while banging his fists on the ground.
  • Spin Attack: Garfield's light down aerial, Spin Drop, has him corkscrew through the air, dealing multiple weak hits of damage.
  • Thought Bubble Speech: His light up air, Thrashing Thoughts, has him weaponize this. His arcade mode dialogue is also displayed in a thought bubble rather than the usual dialog box.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: His favorite, lasagna, is represented in his strong up attack, his victory animation, one of his Thrashing Thoughts, and Sweet Dreams' main platform - a giant lasagna tray.
  • Written Sound Effect: Garfield's neutral strong aerial, BURP!, has exactly that written out as Garfield belches.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: His down special, Pooky, acts like a normal item when placed on the stage. Use it again, though, and Pooky flies right back into Garfield's arms, launching any opponents caught in its path toward Garfield. This can be used to set up combos.

From: Hey Arnold!
Debut: Downtown as Fruits - 10/7/1996
Playable in: 1
Home Stage: Traffic Jam

"Welcome to reality, bucko!"

A tomboyish bully and the sole representative of Hey Arnold!. Helga Geraldine Pataki is, at heart, an incredibly insecure girl with a seemingly deep-seated hatred for the titular character, which only exists to cover up her borderline obsessive crush on him. Her desire to be seen as a bully has driven her to extreme lengths to keep her reputation intact.
See Helga's page for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

    Grandma Gertie

Gertrude "Gertie" Shortman

From: Hey Arnold!
Debut: Field Trip - 10/9/1996
Playable in: 2
Home Stage: City Aquarium

"You better not underestimate this grandma!"

Arnold's fun-loving, yet kooky grandmother. Seemingly due to her old age, Grandma appears to be a senile old woman at first glance — she mixes up holidays, calls people by the wrong name, and occasionally creates different personas, complete with costumes, depending on the situation. However, her rare moments of lucidity suggest that she simply pretends to be senile to get away with whatever she wants. She's always up for adventure and eager to help Arnold when he's in a pinch, from helping him free a turtle from captivity to rewiring a subway's power supply cords.

See Part 1 of The Adults page for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Many of her light attacks are karate based.
  • Clothing Combat: She knits a sweater for her neutral light attack.
  • Confusion Fu: Her playstyle is extremely unpredictable: she is agile with powerful short-ranged attacks, but she also has a wide variety of long-ranged attacks, as well as the random effect of Christmas Gift to keep enemies on their toes. Her overview trailer suggests mixing the two playstyles together depending on which is better for the situation.
  • Frying Pan of Doom: She swings a frying pan for her light back air.
  • Hyperspace Arsenal: Aside from the many improbable items pulled out by Christmas Gift, her other attacks also include spools of yarn and knitting needles, a broom, a frying pan, a grappling hook, and even a halberd.
  • Limit Break: She rewires a subway power cable, causing the train to run over her opponent, as a call-back to the events of "Das Subway".
  • Never Mess with Granny: She's spry for her age, most notably being a black belt in karate. In NASB2, she's able to move around the arena like any other character in a Platform Fighter.
  • Piano Drop: One of the items in "Christmas Gift" is a piano that falls down on the stage hitting anyone in its path.
  • Random Effect Spell: Gertie's down special, "Christmas Gift", has her pull out a random item from her purse with its own unique effect: a flyswatter, a pile of tacks, a wrecking ball, or even a piano.
  • Shoryuken: Her neutral special, Calamity Strike, is a chargeable uppercut that functions much like a shoryuken.
  • Shout-Out: One of her attacks is a direct reference to Captain Falcon's Knee Smash from the Super Smash Bros. series.
  • Use Your Head: Grandma Gertie does a headbutt for her light up air attack.

From: Hey Arnold!
Debut: Downtown as Fruits - 10/7/1996
Playable in: 2
"Get ready to get schooled on cool!"

Arnold's best friend. Known as the coolest kid in school, Gerald is The Social Expert and occasionally tries to dissuade him from helping others if he senses trouble. Known as the "Keeper of the Tale" among his friends, he has info on anything and everyone in Hillwood, and often relays the town's Urban Legends to his peers in a grandiose fashion.

See the Mr. Simmons' Class page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Batter Up!: He swings a baseball bat twice for his forward light aerial attack.
  • Dance Battler: He attacks by breakdancing for his strong down attack.
  • Death Dealer: He uses cards for his neutral light and strong up aerial attacks.
  • I Know Madden Kombat: Most of Gerald's attacks are sports themed.
  • Pajama-Clad Hero: He wears some yellow pajamas for one of his palate swaps.
  • Weaponized Ball: He throws a baseball for his neutral special. He uses a basketball for his light up aerial, his down aerial, his up special, and part of his down special. He also throws a football for his light back aerial.

Invader Zim

    Zim

Zim (and GIR)

Voiced by: Richard Steven Horvitz (Zim), Rosearik Rikki Simons (GIR)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zim_nasb2.png
NASB1
From: Invader Zim
Debut: The Nightmare Begins - 3/30/2001
Playable in: 1, 2
Special Attacks (1): GIR, Bombs Away, Lawn Gnome
Special Attacks (2): Pew Pew!, GIR!, Rocket/Hover, ExpSlowSion
Home Stage: Irken Armada Invasion

"Prepare for some DOOM!"

A pint-sized alien that hails from the planet Irk. Zim is an egotistical megalomaniac who, in spite of his delusions of grandeur, is completely unaware of the hatred the rest of his race has for him. His superiors, the Almighty Tallest, sent him on a mission to conquer Earth to get him out their hair, without realizing that Earth is full of life and not the barren rock they thought it was.

Joining Zim on his mission is GIR, a defective SIR robot; nominally designed to assist Zim, his faulty programming often makes him a hindrance instead. Naturally, Zim's incompetence and GIR's idiocy don't get them very far.

See Zim's page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Advertised Extra: Not Zim himself, but GIR sometimes appears on promotional artwork (most notably, the Crowded-Cast Shot on the title screen) in a separate location from Zim, implying he's also a playable character. In-game, GIR is a non-playable Assist Character who only appears as part of Zim's moveset.
  • Area of Effect: For his down special, Zim throws out a lawn gnome that shocks anyone who touches it.
  • Assist Character: Zim can summon GIR onto the stage with his neutral special. GIR explodes upon touching an opponent, dealing damage to them, and will stay on-screen until he collides with an opponent or falls off the stage.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Using Zim to his maximum potential requires careful set-up and calculating every move in advance, but pulling it off makes him one of the most powerful fighters in the game.
  • Energy Weapon: He fires a laser for both neutral strong attacks.
  • Glass Cannon: Zim is both slow and the lightest character in the first game, but his attacks are long-reaching and allow for tight control of the stage.
  • Hitbox Dissonance: In the launch version of the game, Zim's neutral strong and dashing strong had missing hitboxes. This was fixed early on.
  • Home Stage: Irken Armada Invasion, a stage set in space with the Irken Armada flying around in the background. It has three smaller platforms and no hazards, akin to Battlefield.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Zim moves and attacks entirely with the mechanical spider arms from his PAK, his normal limbs never seeing any use except to grab, point to command GIR, smack opponents with Minimoose, or throw a lawn gnome.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Zim's PAK legs allow him to attack from a distance, and he can throw out GIR and a lawn gnome for space control. He's also very light, encouraging players to keep their distance.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Zim's alternate costume is his human "disguise" from the show, which only consists of a wig and contacts and does nothing to hide his other alien features.
  • Puppet Fighter: Of a sort, more like "puppet projectile" in this case. Zim is capable of summoning GIR as a mildly controllable projectile, being able to toggle his movement with the special button, make him jump with a light attack command, and turn him around by hitting him.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: When Zim wears his alternate costume, GIR's eyes turn red to reference his "duty mode".
  • Shock and Awe: Both his Neutral Strongs shock the opponent with his Spider Limbs, both his Up Strongs use an electric shock spear and his down special has him throw out a lawn gnome that electrifies whoever touches it.
  • Spider Limbs: Zim fights with the spider legs that come out of his backpack.
  • Spin Attack: Two of his light attacks involve spinning with his spider legs.
  • That Liar Lies: When doing his Light Down attack, he will sometimes shout "You're lying!" or "You lie!"
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: Zim's up special has him launch into the air and drop a bomb that hits anyone below.
  • Villain Protagonist: The only one of the main cast; unlike other villains like Shredder, Zim is villainous and the leading character of his series.
  • The Voiceless: Not Zim himself, but GIR doesn't speak in NASB1. He is voiced in 2.

Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius

    Hugh Neutron

Hubert Beaumont "Hugh" Neutron

HUGH NEUTRON DUCKS IN!
From: The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius
Debut: Runaway Rocketboy! - 9/7/1998
Official Debut: Hyper Corn - 11/14/2000
Playable in: 1 (DLC)
Home Stage: Duck, Duck, Pie!

"Yes, sir. It looks like everything's hunky-dory in the world of Hugh Neutron."

The patriarch of the Neutron family, Hugh is a bumbling but well-meaning father. He's a generally laidback parent who's hesitant to discipline his son, Jimmy; he prefers to leave that to his wife Judy, whom he affectionately refers to as his "Sugar Booger". His hobby is collecting wooden ducks, and he loves pie. It's obvious that Jimmy didn't inherit his super-powered mind from him, but Hugh can be surprisingly clever and resourceful when he needs to be.

Hugh was revealed on May 13th, 2022, alongside Jenny and Rocko, as part of the Universe Pack. He is the second character included in the pack, and was made available on August 5th, 2022.

See the Jimmy Neutron page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Abnormal Ammo: His neutral special has him throwing out wooden ducks straight forward. The angle can be adjusted by holding the button before throwing.
  • Ambidextrous Sprite: Averted with his hair, but when he uses his "I Will Live!" move while facing left, the text on the pie boxes is mirrored.
  • Badass Normal: He's a normal dad with no superhuman abilities, but he can duke it out with the rest of the cast no problem.
  • Big "NO!": It's one of his arcade quotes. He may also yell a big "NOOOOOOO!" if he dies.
  • Cool Bike: His down special has him pull out his motorcycle from "Make Room for Daddy-O". It lets Hugh fly off at high speeds, but can be hard to control if you're not careful. He can jump off by pressing the special button again.
  • Dance Battler: His light up, the Osseous System Jam, has him strike a dance pose, while his light down, Ducks: The Musical, is a five-part combo with him performing different moves each time the button is pressed.
  • Demonic Dummy: Hugh's neutral strong features Flippy, his ventriloquist doll from the episode of the same name. Fortunately, he's not sentient this time, but that doesn't make it any less painful for opponents.
  • Demoted to Extra: Relegated to a non-playable role in the sequel's story mode.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Hugh is ridiculously slow and has very poor traction on the ground, and his bizarre attributes (his large size, average weight, and unique accelerating double jump arc) make him combo food for most of the cast, but master them and you've got a character who can wavedash at lightning speeds and strike at the opponent from anywhere on the stage.
  • Fighting Clown: From dancing to burping to riding a bouncing banana, Hugh's attacks are strange even for the standards of the rest of the game.
  • Fourth-Wall Observer: His alternate taunt has him thanking the Internet for getting him into the game.
  • Gasshole: His strong neutral air has him burp, a reference to when he drinks Jimmy's burping soda in the movie.
  • Home Stage: "Duck, Duck, Pie!", an abstract plane referred to as his "happy place". It has a huge pie as the main platform and two paintings of ducks as the secondary platforms, as well as floating ducks and boxes of pie flying through the background.
  • Instrument of Murder: He takes out a ukulele to hit opponents for his strong up.
  • Lethal Joke Character: At first glance, Hugh looks like an utter joke with sluggish mobility, slippery traction, attacks that either have odd hitboxes or are extremely slow, and a large hitbox making him vulnerable to combos. However, his low traction allows him to wavedash across the screen very quickly, his attacks' odd hitboxes allows him to play a mean game of Confusion Fu, helped by his slower attacks being some of the best kill moves in the game. A bad Hugh is a sitting duck for any halfway-skilled player, while a good Hugh can race across the screen in seconds and land numerous high-damaging combos.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Befitting his Cloudcuckoolander nature, Hugh has a lot of unique mechanics not found in any other fighter:
    • He is the only fighter with a back air. To perform it, however, one must hold the strafe button.
    • He has a secret command input: performing a 360 motion and then a taunt causes him to unleash a powerful kicking attack that deals heavy damage. He and Patrick are the only two characters with this attribute.
    • His double jump has a unique arc involving him slowly accelerating into the air, granting him a unique form of aerial mobility.
    • Hugh's running speed is among the slowest in the game. However, he also has low traction that allows him to easily wavedash on the ground, essentially making him much faster when wavedashing than he is normally.
    • Hugh's neutral special can be thrown from almost any angle. However, unlike Helga's neutral special, the angle Hugh throws his ducks is dependent on how long you hold the button before firing and it cannot be manually aimed otherwise.
  • Meteor Move: Both of his down airs are spikes. The light air has him ride a pogo stick that lets him bounce off, making it safe to use off-stage, but the strong air just sends him flying downward.
  • Not Quite Flight:
    • His double jump lets him flap his arms to briefly "fly", giving him an unusual accelerating jump arc.
    • His up special has him sit on a banana, a reference to an infamous line from "League of Villains", to bounce through the sky. He can only bounce a finite number of times per jump, with the height decreasing each time. It also creates a shockwave when he lands.
  • Pie in the Face: His light neutral is literally called Pie to the Face.
  • Shout-Out: Hugh has a secret command input. Performing a 360 motion followed by a taunt will cause him to perform a series of rapid-fire kicks identical to Chun-Li's Houyokusen from Street Fighter III. This is an intentional reference, per the developers.
  • Spin Attack: He spins with his whole body for his light neutral air.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pie, which makes an appearance in his light neutral and up strong.

    Jimmy Neutron

James Issac "Jimmy" Neutron (and Goddard)

JIMMY NEUTRON ACHIEVES LIFTOFF!
From: The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius
Debut: Runaway Rocketboy! - 9/7/1998
Official Debut: Carl Squared - 9/12/2000
Playable in: 2
Home Stage: Jimmy's Lab

"I may be small, but I've got a big brain!"

A child genius with an enormous head, Jimmy Neutron spends his days inventing revolutionary gadgets in his lab with his robot dog Goddard and his friends Carl and Sheen. While his inventions have a tendency to go haywire and endanger people (often in the pursuit of outdoing his perpetual rival Cindy Vortex), Jimmy always has a plan to save the day.

See the Jimmy Neutron page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Ascended Meme:
    • One of Jimmy's taunts has him waving a pack of salt while saying: "Sodium Chloride, yep!" A reference to the Sodium Chloride meme that originated from the episode Men At Work.
    • Jimmy's losing animation is his infamous fourth-wall breaking Big "NO!" from the episode The Tomorrow Boys.
  • Assist Character: Goddard comes along to assist Jimmy in battles, acting as essentially a puppet fighter as the player takes control of the robotic dog, all while shooting lasers, taking big bites and dropping him on top of Jimmy's opponents. It does leave Jimmy standing idle and open to attack, but the player can switch between Jimmy and Goddard.
  • Batter Up!: Jimmy swings his Hydraulic Force-Amplifying Bat from the episode The Retroville 9 for his strong side attack.
  • Flying Car: Jimmy's Up Special has him piloting his Hover Car, which, as the name implies, allows him to hover around the stage. Its default speed is rather slow, and it doesn't go very far, but it can be increased by expending a bar of slime.
  • Jet Pack: As seen in the sequel's reveal trailer, Jimmy wears his trademark JetPack backpack at all times, but it primarily serves as Jimmy's means of performing a double jump, so he can't exactly use it to fly.
  • Limit Break: For his Super Attack, Jimmy rides his Strato XL rocketship and rams it into his opponents at high speeds, sending them flying through space in the process.
  • Puppet Fighter: One of Jimmy's specials allows the player to switch control between him and Goddard, with Jimmy having a full moveset and Goddard being able to fly, shoot lasers, and explode. However, the character you aren't controlling will be left vulnerable to attacks.
  • Sphere Factor: Jimmy's strong down aerial has him bouncing around the stage in his Super Bubblegum-Mobile.

The Legend of Korra

    Korra

Avatar Korra

Voiced by: Janet Varney (1), Jacqueline Grace Lopez (2)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/korra_nasb2.png
NASB1
Playable in: 1, 2
Special Attacks (1): Bending Leap, Avatar Soar, Landslide
Home Stage: Harmonic Convergence

"Still think I'm a half-baked Avatar?"

After Avatar Aang defeated Fire Lord Ozai, ending the Hundred Years War and bringing peace to the world, he and his allies set up the safe haven of Republic City, a place where the people of all nations could live together in harmony.

Unfortunately, like all Avatars before him, Aang's time in this world grew short, and as he passed on, the Avatar reincarnated into its next life: a headstrong Water Tribe girl named Korra. After training in solitude during her youth, Korra eventually came to follow Aang's son Tenzin to Republic City, where she found that strife and inequality still remained, and began to question the Avatar's role in a changing world.

See Korra's page for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

  • Blow You Away: Not nearly as reliant on this as Aang, but both of Korra's dash attacks are wind based; her light dash is an airbending-assisted flying kick, while her strong dash is a tornado move.
  • Bring It: Her taunt is one of these. Korra beckons to the opponent, inviting them to take her on.
  • Charged Attack: The most out of all the characters. Korra's strong attacks can all be charged by holding a button, which gives them elemental effects and slightly more knockback. Her specials are also chargeable for greater damage, distance and duration.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Korra relies on getting up close to the opponent to deal damage, as she lacks any projectiles and most of her strongest attacks have a short range.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Korra's charged strong up, neutral special and down special all involve Korra generating Earth to attack.
  • Diving Kick: Korra's aerial down special has her kicking downward diagonally with fiery feet.
  • Elemental Punch: Of several varieties. Korra's neutral special is a Megaton Punch that creates a stone gauntlet around Korra's fist when fully charged, while her up-special is a rising uppercut with waterbending.
  • Foil: To Aang, the other playable Avatar. Aang is a Fragile Speedster who only (barring his Avatar State) uses airbending, while Korra is a Mighty Glacier who uses all four elements throughout her moveset.
  • Home Stage: Harmonic Convergence, a battlefield between Raava and Vaatu with no platforms or hazards that's directly based off Final Destination.
  • In a Single Bound: Avatar Soar can go really high with enough charging, but it won't do damage.
  • Making a Splash: Korra's charged neutral strong (both grounded and aerial versions), neutral special and up special all have her generating water to attack with.
  • Megaton Punch: The Bending Leap is a flying punch to the opponent, which can also be charged. The earth gauntlet that forms also makes this an Elemental Megaton Punch.
  • Meteor Move: Her strong down air stomps opponents straight down.
  • Mighty Glacier: Several of Korra's attacks are slow to come out (even more so if charged first), but she hits like a truck and is one of the heavier fighters in the game.
  • Playing with Fire: Korra's charged strong down (both grounded and aerial versions), strong up air and air down special all utilize fire.
  • Shoryuken: Korra's up special has her do an uppercut which can be charged up to go really high, but not do damage.
  • Situational Damage Attack:
    • Korra's strong attacks can be charged into elemental variants by holding the button for a second.
    • Her ground light attacks can be chained into variations of the same attack with the right button presses.
    • Her Landslide attack is either an earthbending sliding attack, or a firebending dive kick, depending if you're on the ground or in the air.

The Loud House

    Lincoln

Lincoln Albert Loud

Voiced by: Bentley Griffin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rascal.png
From: The Loud House
Debut: Bathroom Break! - 6/5/2014
Official debut: Left in the Dark - 5/2/2016
Playable in: 1
Home Stage: The Loud House

"Man with the plan!"

A twelve-year-old boy and the only son in the eponymous Loud household, a large family consisting nearly entirely of girls. Being the only boy in a family with ten sisters, Lincoln Loud tries valiantly to act as the voice of reason within his chaotic household, with varying degrees of success.

See the Loud Siblings page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Attack Animal: He uses a bunch of raccoons on leashes during one of his moves, which makes him rush forward while dealing damage.
  • Adaptational Weapon Swap: A more minor example, but a reason why his moveset is often criticized by fans of his show. Many of the tools Lincoln uses in his moveset are items that he either doesn't use on the show at all or are only used in one episode (if not only one scene). The most notable examples are his yoyo (which he only uses in one scene of one episode, yet it makes of a massive chunk of his moveset), his spinning top (which he never uses on the show at all), and his baseball bat (he plays almost no sports in the show itself). Meanwhile, many of his interests and tools that he does use, such as his Ace Savvy gear (outside of his up-special), ARGGH Ghost hunting equipment, David Steele spy gadgets, and magical showmanship as a performance magician, go completely unrepresentednote .
  • Badass Adorable: He's an Adorably Precocious Child, and he can fight his opponents with his random objects as weapons.
  • Badass Normal: Lincoln's ability to fight in his home series is usually very lacking, but this isn't so here; he's able to duke it out with superheroes, ninjas, monsters, and so on without issue.
  • Batter Up!: For his neutral strong attack, he swings his bat.
  • Battle Tops: For his down special, he takes out a top and it spins back and forth until it disapears or hits someone.
  • Cheerful Child: A lot of his animations have him beaming with joy, which makes sense given he's just a young boy
  • Cool Bike: He rides on a bike for his strong dash attack.
  • Cool Sword: His strong down attack has him slash down with a red toy laser sword.
  • Death Dealer: His Up Special, "Ace of Spades", propels him upward then deals damage around him with playing cards.
  • Demoted to Extra: He is seen as a background character in 2's Loch Loud stage.
  • Home Stage: The Loud House, a large stage with no bottomless pits or hazards.
  • Idle Animation: He pushes a remote controller button, then panics when said controller apparently does nothing.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Almost all of his moves have him using toys to attack the opponent, including a yo-yo, a water gun, and a spintop. He also uses raccoons and a stinky diaper during his Strong attacks. For his get-up attack, he hits nearby opponents with his stuffed rabbit, Bun-Bun.
  • Jack of All Stats: Lincoln's moveset allows him to fight up close or from a distance, and he has attacks for a variety of situations.
  • Killer Yoyo: All of his Light attacks (except for the Dash one) have him using his yo-yo to attack in some form.
  • Meteor Move: His VR Slash attack can send opponents straight down.
  • Pinball Projectile: His Spintop can bounce off walls repeatedly to damage more opponents.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Lincoln contrasts greatly with his sister Lucy where he is energetic and peppy while Lucy is reserved and moody.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Although him and Lucy have 9 other siblings, the two siblings represented here contrast so greatly that they are practically opposites of each other, bonus points for Lincoln having snow-white hair and Lucy having pitch-black hair just like the yin-yang symbol.
  • Status Infliction Attack: The Splasher has the ability to momentarily stun whoever its water jet touches.
  • Taunt Button: He smugly brushes off his shoulder. He has a secondary taunt added in the Rocko update where he does a cocky dance.
  • Toilet Humour: His strong up air has him swing a full diaper.
  • Unsportsmanlike Gloating: His victory screen has him slide to center-stage with his back to the camera, snap both fingers while rocking his hips from side to side, and then turns around and sways performing a mocking dance on his opponents.
  • Water Guns and Balloons: His neutral special is The Splasher. It has him firing with a water gun.

    Lucy

Lucy L. Loud

Voiced by: Jessica DiCicco

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucy_nasb2.png
NASB1
From: The Loud House
Debut: Bathroom Break! - 6/5/2014
Official debut: Left in the Dark - 5/2/2016
Playable in: 1, 2
Home Stage: Royal Woods Cemetery

"Failure. It’s all your fault, this streak of bad luck. No escape from this cycle in which you are stuck."

The fifth youngest sibling in the Loud family, at nine years old. Lucy is a deadpan, cynical girl who has had a love for all things dark and gothic since birth. She's part of the Young Morticians Club at Royal Woods Elementary School, where she associates with her like-minded peers. She has a habit of suddenly appearing out of nowhere, scaring anyone else that happened to be in the room prior.

See the Loud Siblings page for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

  • Adaptational Badass: In her home series, her ability to use magic is rather unclear as to whether it's effective or not. Here, she uses occult powers with full gusto, even having the ability to interchangeably turn into a vampire and a ghost. Her habit of suddenly jump-scaring people also gets fully upgraded into teleportation.
  • Ascended Extra: In an extreme case, she was merely a hit in Lincoln’s jab combo in Super Brawl World and a complete non-entity in Universe, but Lucy was confirmed as a playable character in the first game's announcement trailer.
  • Attack Animal: Some of her attacks involve her using bats.
  • The Beastmaster: She can use her up special called "Flight of The Bats" to have her pet bat fly her up the stage.
  • Cool Shades: Lucy wears purple sunglasses over her bangs for her alternate costume.
  • Creepy Child: She's nine years old and has very dark and macabre interests. Heck, her home stage is even a creepy cemetery!
  • Death Dealer: Her Light Neutrals have her using a tarot card to hit the opponent with.
  • Death from Above: Poetry Slam involves her crashing onto the enemy from above with a book.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Playing Lucy requires intricate knowledge of all of her modes and when to apply their strengths in battle, which isn't helped by the fact both stances make her the lightest character in the game. However, if fully mastered, she can rapidly switch between her stances to deal high-damaging combos that kill very early.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: Befitting her quiet goth personality she has bangs that completely covering her eyes.
  • Flash Step: Her light dash attack has her quickly float towards the opponent. Her strong dash attack has her run up and attack by teleporting a small distance.
  • Goth: She's a goth girl with a love for all things dark and even has a bat for a companion.
  • Home Stage: Royal Woods Cemetery, a simple stage with tombstones that deal damage on contact.
  • Idle Animation: A bat starts flying around her, which makes Lucy smile and excitedly follow it with her head.
  • Invisibility: Her Ghost Mode allows her to become invisible for a short timespan.
  • Jump Scare: Weaponized for her Down Special, aptly called Jump Scare, which has her teleport a short distance ahead. Depending on her mode, she either can summon a coffin that deals heavy knockback or gain a brief period of invincibility.
  • Little Miss Badass: Lucy is the youngest character in the game at nine years old, yet she keeps up with the older members of the cast just fine.
  • Man Bites Man: Her Neutral Special, Dark Bite, which also makes her switch her stances between Ghost and Vampire.
  • Not So Stoic: Despite Lucy's gloomy demeanor, she knows how to have fun too, such as smiling around her little pet bat as well happily performing magic tricks.
  • Parasol of Pain: Her Strong Neutral, Umbrella Poke, is Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
  • Power Floats: Lucy's light dash attack has her floating towards the opponent like a ghost.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Lucy contrasts greatly with her brother Lincoln where he is a Cheerful Child and she is a Creepy Child.
  • Roundhouse Kick: Both of her Light Up Attacks are called "Roundhouse Kick", and has her doing just that.
  • Scratch Damage: Her Dark Bite does a measly 1% to the opponent, as it isn't actually intended to be an offensive move, but a way to alter her Stance System.
  • Shovel Strike: Her Light Down has her using a shovel to dig the ground forward and smack anyone on her way.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Although her and Lincoln have 9 other siblings, the two siblings represented here contrast so greatly that they are practically opposites of each other, bonus points for Lincoln having snow-white hair and Lucy having pitch-black hair just like the yin-yang symbol.
  • Sinister Scythe: She uses one of these to attack.
  • Sore Loser: She bares her teeth in rage with Cross-Popping Veins on her head when she loses.
  • Stance System: She can cycle between Vampire and Ghost modes with her Neutral Special Dark Bite, with each mode affecting her Special Attacks in some way. She can also return to Normal mode by holding the Neutral Special button, executing another move in the process.
    • In Normal Mode, her Up Special makes her fly upwards without any effect and her Down Special allows her to teleport normally.
    • In Vampire Mode, holding the Special button makes her launch four bat projectiles above her, her Up Special makes her fly diagonally while dealing collision damage, and her Down Special makes her emerge from a coffin after she teleports, dealing damage with a slam.
    • In Ghost Mode, holding the Special button turns her invisible for a short period of time, her Up Special makes her fly less than normal but allows her to deal damage upon landing onto someone, and her Down Special gives her a few frames of invincibility after appearing.
  • Tarot Troubles: The card she uses for her Light Neutrals is the Three of Swords, which represents, among other things, pain.
  • Taunt Button: She bares her teeth then growls at the opponent while shaking her head. Her alterate taunt is an Evil Laugh.
  • Teleportation: Her Down Special allows her to teleport, having different effects depending of her stance.
  • Throw the Book at Them: Her strong down air is Poetry Slam. It has her take out her poetry book and slam down on opponents from the air.
  • Warrior Poet: Several of Lucy's pre-match interactions in Arcade mode have her reciting poetry she wrote to her opponent before she fights them.
  • When She Smiles: Lucy looks adorable when she gleefully smiles at her pet bat Fangs flying around her for her idle animation as well as when she performs a magic trick for her victory animation.

My Life as a Teenage Robot

    Jenny

XJ-9/Jennifer "Jenny" Wakeman

Voiced by: Janice Kawaye

NASB1
JENNY LOGGED IN!
From: My Life as a Teenage Robot
Debut: Oh Yeah! Cartoons: My Neighbor Was A Teenage Robot! - 12/4/1999
Official Debut: It Came From Next Door - 8/1/2003
Playable in: 1 (DLC), 2
Home Stage: Tremorton Joyride

"It's time you start dreaming about electric sheep."

The ninth XJ model created by Dr. Nora Wakeman, XJ-9 is a sapient robot with the mind of a 16-year-old girl whose purpose is to protect the Earth from alien invasions. However, Jenny — as she prefers to be called — gained a mind of her own, and after a chance encounter with Brad Carbunkle and his younger brother Tucker, she began to desire a normal life. Dr. Wakeman reluctantly agreed, and now Jenny juggles saving the world with the ordeals of teenage life.

Jenny was revealed on May 13th, 2022, alongside Hugh and Rocko, as part of the Universe Pack. She was made available on the same day as the first character included in the pack.

See the My Life as a Teenage Robot page for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

  • Badass Adorable: She's a cute robot, and she can fight her opponents.
  • Big Damn Heroes: What her trailer frames her as, with her showing up to save the city from a rampaging Reptar.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: Her moveset plays into this; her light down has her angrily stomping forward, while her strong down has her throw a destructive tantrum.
  • Cheated Angle: Employed a lot more by her animations than any other fighter in the game. Her head is usually pointed sideways while her eyes, mouth and pigtails aren't.
  • Extendable Arms: She can use her telescopic arms to extend the reach of her grab, also letting her grab onto ledges from a distance.
  • Eye Beams: Her down special, Explosive Lasers, has her firing eye beams diagonally downward. They only produce knockback if they hit the ground.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: In the show proper, due to being a robot, Jenny is incapable of eating carbon-based food (the main exception being salad oil). In the game, she has no problem eating Krabby Patties.
  • Home Stage: Tremorton Joyride, a medium-sized stage that travels through Jenny's hometown while the platforms occasionally rearrange themselves.
  • Hot Paint Job: Her alternate costume is her red flame-themed paint job from "The Great Unwashed".
  • Humongous-Headed Hammer: Her strong down attack has her turn her hands into hammers and pound the ground. There's also her new side special in the second game where she attacks with a big hammer that sends shockwaves when used on the ground.
  • Jack of All Stats: Jenny's good at handling opponents from all ranges, and she has multiple solid recovery options.
  • Jet Pack: Her iconic Robot Wings act as her up special, which let her fly with 360-degree control until their timer expires.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: A product of mimicking her show's artstyle, she sports a Cheated Angle, moreso than even Danny or Zim have as even her eyes and mouth look painted on rather than organic, and she's a lot shinier than other characters, to emphasize that she's a robot. The result almost makes her look like she's still 2D compared to the other characters who look explicitly 3D.
  • Ocular Gushers: Her losing animation has her crying her eyes out.
  • Parasol Parachute: She uses one for her light up air, which can be held to slow her fall.
  • Percussive Therapy: Her down strong has her throwing a tantrum by smashing her massive fists into the ground.
  • Player-Guided Missile: Her neutral special, Rocket Power, generates one. Jenny is fully controllable while it's out.
  • Rollerblade Good: Her dashing animation has her on jet-powered rollerblades, as in the intro to her show. For her light dash attack, she spin kicks using them.
  • Sore Loser: She cries her eyes out when she loses.
  • Telescoping Robot: True to her source material, many of her moves make use of weapons that are hidden inside her in impossible ways.
  • Three-Point Landing: Her official artwork has her crouching down with her left hand on the ground.

The Ren & Stimpy Show

    Ren & Stimpy

Marland T. "Ren" Höek and Stimpson J. "Stimpy" Cat

Voiced by: Billy West

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ren_stimpy_nasb2.png
NASB1
From: The Ren & Stimpy Show
Debut: Big House Blues - 12/21/1990
Playable in: 1, 2
Home Stage: Space Madness (1), Messy Kitchen (2)

Ren: "It's not I who am crazy, it's I who am mad!"
Stimpy: "Happy happy! Joy joy!"

Marland T. "Ren" Höek is a psychotic chihuahua with a hair-trigger temper, while Stimpson J. "Stimpy" Cat is a simpleminded cat who is often oblivious to Ren's fury. Together, they go on zany misadventures. Ren and Stimpy are a duo fighter; Ren rides on Stimpy's back, and on occasion, each of them uses the other as a weapon.

See The Ren & Stimpy Show page for more information pertaining to them from their home series.

  • 2xFore: Their neutral special is "Log from Blammo!" It has them throw a log at opponents.
  • Ass Kicks You: Their strong down air is "Dive Bomb". It has Stimpy diving down butt-first ready to hit any opponents.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite all their vitriol and bickering and slapstick throughout the fight, Ren and Stimpy still hug it out with Stimpy consoling Ren bawling over their loss.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: Several of their attacks have Stimpy attacking from the front while Ren defends him from behind. This allows them to perform cross-ups with neither side being entirely safe to attack.
  • Car Fu: Their strong dash/side special attack is called "Beep Beep". It has them driving a red car/wiener car when used.
  • Confusion Fu: They have quite possibly the zaniest moveset out of anyone in the roster, with some moves being particularly harder to see coming; two variants of Watch Out! have Ren bite on one side and Stimpy do a Wild Take on the other, Beep Beep! has them drive a car, and Keep It Together! involves Ren slapping Stimpy and then proceeding to shake him if the player keeps executing it.
  • Death from Above: "Dive Bomb" has Stimpy diving down diagonally, crashing down on anyone in the way.
  • Defend Command: "First Fart" has Stimpy absorb damage before unleashing a giant fart.
  • Fartillery: Their down special, "First Fart", has Stimpy absorb damage before releasing a giant fart.
  • Fighting Clown: They are practically a slapstick Looney Tunes character put into a fast-paced fighting game.
  • Foil: To CatDog, another two-in-one fighter consisting of a cat and dog duo from The '90s. While CatDog are two heads on one body and tag out so the player primarily controls one at a time, Ren and Stimpy are two separate entities that function as a single duo fighter. Also, while Stimpy comforts Ren if they've lost the match, Cat strangles Dog in frustration instead.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: Quite a few of their moves involve them either flailing each other about like makeshift weapons, or Ren abusing Stimpy and the opponent getting caught in the crossfire.
  • Home Stage: Space Madness, which takes place in space and consists exclusively of moving platforms that sink whenever a character stands on them.
  • Human Shield: "First Fart" has Ren using Stimpy as a shield to absorb enough damage to release a big fart.
  • Idle Animation: Ren makes a disgusted face while Stimpy looks up.
  • Inexplicably Tailless: Strangely, Ren's tail is completely absent in both games.
  • Limit Break: In the second game, their ultimate attack is a reference to "Stimpy's Fan Club": Ren, as the president of the United States, presses a Big Red Button that causes an Earth-Shattering Kaboom.
  • Mighty Glacier: Ren and Stimpy are quite heavy and slow (no doubt mostly thanks to Stimpy), but have high attack power.
  • Sore Loser: Ren cries similarly to SpongeBob when the duo loses, with Stimpy comforting him.
  • Stylistic Suck: Many of their movements are animated in a deliberately choppy manner, to match the Deranged Animation of the original show. This can be best seen in their victory pose, where they do the Happy Happy Joy Joy dance exactly like in the original animation.
  • Taunt Button: For their taunt animation, Ren's dance is, shockingly, lifted from Adult Party Cartoon.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Many of their attacks involve one harming the other somehow, but they get along surprisingly well in the end.
  • Wild Take: Some of their attacks involve making crazy faces, including one simply called "Watch Out!" that weaponizes an Eye Pop.

    Powdered Toast Man

Powdered Toast Man

Voiced by: David Kaye

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hero_8.png
From: The Ren & Stimpy Show
Debut: Robin Höek - 8/25/1991
Playable in: 1
Home Stage: Powdered Toast Trouble

"Leave everything to me!"

Ren & Stimpy's in-universe mascot for Powdered Toast, the cereal that tastes exactly like sawdust. Depicted in commercials that also act as something of a Show Within a Show, Powdered Toast Man is a superhero who often causes more problems than he solves, all in the name of promoting Powdered Toast.

See The Ren & Stimpy Show page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Anthropomorphic Food: He's two slices of toast on a muscular body.
  • Ass Kicks You: For his light dash attack, he charges at the opponent with his butt.
  • Calling Your Attacks: He shouts "Hyper-Corrosive Croutons!" for his neutral special.
  • Charged Attack: His Hyper-Corrosive Croutons attack can be charged to fire up to five croutons.
  • Deflector Shields: His Armored Crust creates a crust shield around himself that damages opponents who get too close. Its function is much the same as Fox and Falco's shine from Super Smash Bros. Melee, down to being able to reflect projectiles. The specific knockback angle is said to be based on Wolf's in Project M.
  • Detachment Combat: A few of his moves involve the two pieces of toast he has for a head coming off and returning to him, whether it's both of them (his strong up attack) or just the one in the back (his aerial light attack and strong down attack).
  • Edible Ammunition: His neutral special fires hyper-corrosive croutons, though "edible" is debatable.
  • Fartillery: His strong dash attack is propelled with a fart.
  • Fighting Clown: In his showcase, the narrator states that "he's the character you play if you just want to have fun". His attacks involve saluting, firing croutons from his armpit, licking, and slapping the opponent with part of his toast head, and they often have silly and unpredictable side effects. The cherry on top is his ability to waveshine, which leads to the hilarity of having one of the most advanced techniques combined with one of the least conventional movesets.
  • Glass Cannon: A variation; while he's a heavyweight with high movement speed, Powered Toast Man also has a large hurtbox, making him extremely vulnerable to combos. He also has one of the worst recoveries in the game, as Toast is Done is slow, heavily telegraphed, and leaves him vulnerable if he lands on the ground; against a skilled player, he's as good as dead if forced off-stage.
  • Heroic Build: His body is extremely jacked with two slices of toast to act as the head.
  • Home Stage: Powdered Toast Trouble, a giant kitchen that happens to be the largest stage in the game.
  • In a Single Bound: His up special has him pop from a toaster up into the air.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Powdered Toast Man hits hard, can move surprisingly quickly (particularly when waveshining) and is a heavyweight fighter.
  • Megaton Punch: His neutral strong is a dashing punch that deals heavy damage and knockback if it connects.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: To make his multishine work properly, he's the only character in the game with jumpsquat.
  • Palette Swap: His alternate costume gives him the palette he had in his debut episode, "Robin Hoek", where he had a brown body and white underwear.
  • Random Effect Spell: His light neutral air used to have him strike in a random position each time before being changed to strike at a consistent angle instead.
  • Spin Attack: His neutral strong aerial is a spinning lariat.
  • Spring Jump: His up special launches him into the air from a toaster.
  • Taunt Button: He mockingly smacks his own butt.
  • Use Your Head: His strong up attack is a headbutt that knocks the opponent upward.
  • You Taste Delicious: His strong up air has him lick the opponent with an oversized tongue.

NASB1
ROCKO BACK TO EARTH!
Playable in: 1 (DLC), 2
Home Stage: Hardcore Chores

"Well, this is quite interesting!"

A mild-mannered wallaby from Australia who moved to O-Town, USA, Rocko lives the simple life of a comic shop cashier with his dog, Spunky. He struggles to adapt to the ups and downs of modern life, no thanks to his crazy friends and neighbors. For Rocko, every day can be a very dangerous day.

Rocko was revealed on May 13th, 2022, alongside Jenny and Hugh, as part of the Universe Pack. He is the third and final character included in the pack, and was made available on October 7th, 2022.

See the Rocko's Modern Life page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Adaptational Modesty: In his home series, Rocko is a Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal who wears a shirt, but no pants. In the first game, he wears underwear under his shirt.
  • Assist Character: Rocko can summon his pet dog Spunky for his down light and neutral special.
  • Attack Animal: Rocko's neutral special, Go Spunky!, sends out his pet dog Spunky to bite the opponent. If Spunky runs into a jackhammer, he'll ride it at a much faster speed and rapidly attack nearby fighters.
  • Cooldown: Go Spunky and Jack the Hammer will be unavailable for a brief time after being used. This can even affect other attacks. (His down light attack will be weaker if Spunky isn't around to bite the broom.)
  • Home Stage: Hardcore Chores, Rocko's literal home after it's been launched into space by a rocket that crashed into it.
  • Humongous-Headed Hammer: His standing down strong has Rocko pull out a hammer and slam it into the ground.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Some of his attacks involve weaponizing common household items. (Broom, rolling pin, bowling ball)
  • Self-Damaging Attack Backfire: The jackhammer is one of the most powerful attacks in the game. It can also turn around and hit Rocko himself. This is averted in the second game since it no longer hits him.
  • Super-Scream: His standing neutral strong involves Rocko shouting "YOU'RE FIRED!". In the air, the attack instead becomes a Wild Take with Rocko screaming in terror.
  • Rod And Reel Repurposed: He uses a fishing rod for his ledge grab.
  • Your Size May Vary: The Suck-O-Matic vacuum he rides for his strong dash attack is a lot smaller than it was in the show.
  • Wingding Eyes: He stumbles around in a dizzy state with swirls for pupils for his loosing animation.

Rugrats

    Reptar

Reptar

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reptar_nasb2.png
NASB1
From: Rugrats
Debut: At The Movies - 8/25/1991
Playable in: 1, 2
Home Stage: Showdown at Teeter Totter Gulch (1), Reptar's Ruins (2)

"*RAWR*"

The representative of Rugrats. A mutated Tyrannosaurus rex and the star of an in-universe multimedia franchise, Reptar is the subject of movies, toys, cereal, jigsaw puzzles, and much, much more. Regardless of what their parents think, he is adored by children around the world.

See the Rugrats page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Adaptational Villainy: He fills the role of a giant monster for Jenny to fight in her reveal trailer. Then again, he's an in-universe fictional character who destroys cities so... maybe he got typecast?
  • All Animals Are Dogs: His voice clips include dog-like whimpering.
  • Alternate Company Equivalent: It's apparent that his moveset is inspired by the heavyweight fighters in Super Smash Bros., namely the reptilian fire-breathing ones like Bowser and Ridley.
  • Breath Weapon: He can breathe fireballs and beams of fire.
  • The Bus Came Back: Not Reptar himself, but Tommy appears in one of his victory animations in 2, after he was completely absent in Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3.
  • Charged Attack: His neutral special and down special can both be charged up.
  • Death from Above: His up special has him flip into the air and come crashing down.
  • Developer's Foresight: Much like Garfield, if you play as Reptar in 2’s campaign, Vlad and Clockwork have special interactions with him, considering that Reptar only speaks in roars and neither ghost can understand said roars.
  • Happy Dance: Reptar's win animation has him destroy some buildings before happily dancing on the spot.
  • Home Stage: Showdown at Teeter Totter Gulch, a western-themed playground stage with multiple sinkholes.
  • Idle Animation: He turns and looks to his right.
  • Immune to Flinching: His down special can be charged up to release more fire and while charging he is immune to knockback.
  • Long-Range Fighter: His Volcanic Beam and Flame Breath make him good at zoning.
  • Man Bites Man: His strong dash attack is Diving Bite. He lunges forward and bites the opponent.
  • Mighty Glacier: Reptar has very powerful moves but he is heavy and slow which makes him more vulnerable to combos.
  • Not Zilla: He's a Godzilla expy in his show's Show Within a Show, and All-Star Brawl takes it to heart, giving him Godzilla-esque tail attacks along with an Atomic Breath-esque Breath Weapon.
  • Palette Swap: Reptar's alt turns him purple, referencing the Purple Reptar variants occasionally seen in the show.
  • Parody Product Placement: His taunt animation has him pose with a bowl of Reptar Cereal and he even assumes the same pose from the cover of the cereal box.
  • Playing with Fire: He has several fire breath attacks.
  • Rolling Attack: His light dash attack is Somersault.
  • The Speechless: Reptar doesn't even speak for his pre-match dialogue in Arcade mode, instead just growling and roaring.
  • Shout-Out: Take a wild guess. Like in his parent show, Reptar himself serves as a reference to Godzilla as a character, and his goofy, child-friendly in-universe franchise is a direct pastiche of Godzilla's own light and fluffy Showa era.
  • Tail Slap: He uses his tail for a few of his attacks.
  • Taunt Button: He pulls out Reptar Cereal and mimics the pose from his cereal box cover.
  • T. Rexpy: According to his backstory, he was an actual T. rex that got mutated into his current form.
  • Use Your Head: He does a headbutt for his neutral light attack and also slams his head up and down for his light up and light down respectively.
  • Your Size May Vary: In the original series, he's the size of a standard Kaiju and can stand head to head with buildings. In the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl games, he's only slightly bigger than the rest of the cast.

SpongeBob SquarePants

SpongeBob SquarePants

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spongebob_nasb2.png
NASB1
From: SpongeBob SquarePants
Debut: Help Wanted - 5/1/1999
Playable in: 1, 2
Special Attacks: Bubble Blow, Fishbowl Strike, Order Up, Chomp (1) / Chef Flip (2)
Home Stage: Jellyfish Fields

"What could be better than servin' up smiles?"

A sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea, absorbent and yellow and porous is he.

Easily the most famous and recognizable Nicktoon on the roster, SpongeBob SquarePants is a kind-hearted, childish, and outgoing sea sponge who resides in the undersea city of Bikini Bottom. When he isn't working as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab or striving to obtain his boating license, SpongeBob usually spends his time goofing around with his best friend, Patrick, and often tends to get himself involved with the affairs of the other undersea residents, whether they appreciate it or not.

See SpongeBob's page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Alternate Company Equivalent: He's the equivalent to Mario in the Super Smash Bros. games, being depicted the most as a mascot or "main" character among the ensemble cast due to his status as a mascot for the company. Much like Mario, SpongeBob is a very beginner-friendly Jack of All Stats and a Shotoclone, and he serves as the default character in most of the game's promotional material. 2 makes this even more apparent by changing some of SpongeBob's moves to better resemble Mario's, such as making his light up air a flip kick, his side light air a meteor smash, and his down special an Attack Reflector based off Mario's Cape.
  • Ascended Meme: Several of his moves are based on popular memes from his show, such as his slipping fall dash attack, imaaaaginaaation down strong attacks, and his mocking taunt.
  • Attack Reflector: In 2, SpongeBob's new down special is now Chef Flip, a flip of his spatula that can reflect projectiles.
  • Badass Adorable: He's cute, and he can fight his opponents.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: It just wouldn't be SpongeBob without some "kay-rah-tay" moves.
  • Batter Up!: His side strong attack has him swing his Jellyfishing Net just like a baseball bat and it's also an Improvised Weapon since it can reflect projectiles just like other strong attacks.
  • Bubble Gun: His neutral special has him blow a bubble at the opponent.
  • Butt-Monkey: Most showcase videos involve SpongeBob as the test dummy to show off each character's moveset, then have him be the CPU opponent that easily gets beaten.
  • Calling Your Attacks: He sometimes says "Imagination" for his down strong attack.
  • Circling Birdies: When knocked down onto the ground, stars spin over SpongeBob's head.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Is on the receiving end of this in 2's Campaign mode. After SpongeBob defeats King Jellyfish, Vlad appears and KO's him in one shot.
  • Drives Like Crazy: His super in 2 showcases what happens when you put him behind the wheel.
  • Fighting Clown: Many of SpongeBob's moves make use of bizarre animations and weapons, like falling over, summoning rainbows, blowing bubbles and delivering exaggerated bites. In spite of this, he's fully capable of duking it out with the rest of the cast.
  • Home Stage: Jellyfish Fields, a simple stage with one moving platform directly based off hazards-on Smashville.
  • I Know Madden Kombat: His Grounded Neutral Strong has him swing his Jellyfishing Net like a Baseball Bat.
  • Idle Animation: He flicks his nose, then leans backwards for a bit.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Can somehow weaponize bubbles of all things. He also weaponizes a Jellyfishing Net, and even the power of his "imaaaaginaaation" to send his opponents flying or even spike them into the abyss.
  • Instant Flight: Just Add Spinning!: For his up special, he uses the hydrodynamic spatula to act as a helicopter to fly up in the air.
  • Jack of All Stats: SpongeBob is designed as a beginner-friendly character who has well-rounded stats across the board but doesn't excel in any particular area.
  • Limit Break: SpongeBob summons Mrs. Puff, who takes him out for a driving test. It goes about as well as usual, and in the process he runs down the opponent on the road.
  • Man Bites Man: His "Chomp" attack has him bite his opponents, on the ground or in the air.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: Whether his attacks are actually powered up by his imagination or if it's just him having more confidence in himself. Considering this is SpongeBob we're talking about, it might be the former.
  • Now That's Using Your Teeth!: His "Chomp" attack has the property of eating up the foe's projectiles.
  • Perpetual Smiler: All of his animations (minus his Sore Loser loss pose) have him sport his trademark big goofy grin.
  • Rolling Attack: His side special from 2 onwards is Fishbowl Strike. The attack has SpongeBob barreling into the opponent with the water helmet he wears in Sandy's treedome. It also has super armor, allowing him to power through weak attacks.
  • Shotoclone: As he's the Mario of the game, he's also the premier Shoto, being a Jack of All Stats with a projectile (bubble blowing), two types of DPs (one with his Karate Glove, and his Hydrodynamic Spatula), and two forms of Hurricane Kicks (his Dash attacks, and his Chomp).
  • Skill Gate Characters: Being one of the most recognizable characters on the roster, SpongeBob is also designed to be simple for newcomers to pick up. Due to being a shotoclone, he has moves effective for countering most situations he finds himself in, but doesn't specialize in any one particular area, so he can be easily outclassed by an experienced player.
  • Sore Loser: His loss animation has him bawling his eyes out with Ocular Gushers.
  • Spin Attack: His Light Dash attack is a spin.
  • Taunt Button: His taunt animation shows him clucking like a chicken (which also serves as a nod to the "Mocking SpongeBob" meme).
  • Trash Talk: Downplayed, but for a Kindhearted Simpleton like SpongeBob, his taunt can come across as surprisingly mean-spirited and insulting as he morphs into a chicken and clucks like one, basically mocking his opponents by calling them "chicken".
  • [Verb] This!: One of SpongeBob's quotes upon performing his down strong or air down strong is "Imagine this!".

Patrick Star

NASB1
From: SpongeBob SquarePants
Debut: Help Wanted - 5/1/1999
Playable in: 1, 2
Home Stage: Flying Dutchman's Ship

"Nobody calls me tubby!"

Patrick Star is SpongeBob's rock-dwelling neighbor and best friend. Dimwitted beyond belief, Patrick has never held a steady job, and he prefers to spend his spare time lazing about at home. Despite this, he occasionally shows signs of surprisingly high intelligence, and SpongeBob often defers to his advice, against his better judgment.

See Patrick's page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Ascended Meme: The iconic "NO! THIS IS PATRICK!!" moment that became a meme is now part of Patrick's moveset as his neutral strong attack.
  • Belly Flop Crushing: Some of his attacks involve his belly.
  • Big Eater: Two of his moves have him hit his opponents with Krabby Patties and then eat them. He also eats an ice cream cone for his get-up attack.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Patrick fights at close-range and has no projectiles whatsoever.
  • Counter-Attack: In 2, Patrick's new Down Special (as Hugdriver was moved to his Side Special) is Counter Slam, a counter attack that has Patrick grab the opponent and slam them into the ground if they attack him. If he counters a projectile, Patrick will quickly rush forward a short distance to close the gap between him and the attacker.
  • Death or Glory Attack: Similar to Bowser's Flying Slam and Ganon's Flame Choke, using Patrick's Hugdriver over a Bottomless Pit will instantly KO an opponent regardless of their health or damage percent, but it comes at the cost of one of his own stocks. Most experienced Patrick mains would only preform this strategy when their last opponent has no extra stocks remaining.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Patrick's command-input version of Hugdriver is a stronger, faster, and deadlier version that is much harder to pull off. You have to input a full-circle directional command then press down special, however, the move is much slower to start up and has a telegraphed red glow to it, making it much more obvious to the opponents what you're trying to do and Patrick takes more than a second before the grab is active, meaning you have to strategically time your attack. But when it connects, Patrick will perform a high-diving slam that's basically a guaranteed KO and since Patrick will always win the tie when both are KO'd, it's safe to use any time and this makes it a very high-risk high-reward move.
  • Edible Bludgeon: Both light up attacks have him hit opponents with a Krabby Patty. His get-up attack has him hitting opponents with an ice cream cone while he eats it.
  • Fighting Clown: Patrick has a lot of goofy attacks like eating ice cream, putting a trophy on his head and piledriving his opponent with hugs, but is just as much of a fighter as anyone else.
  • Flipping the Table: Patrick's light up air in the second game has him flipping a Krusty Krab table that can hit nearby opponents.
  • The Grappler: All three of Patrick's special moves are command grabs (with one having a more powerful 360 input-based variant) that deal heavy damage on hit. To balance this out, Patrick is one of the slowest characters in the game and has no projectiles.
  • Home Stage: The Flying Dutchman's Ship, a large stage with multiple platforms.
  • Idle Animation: He falls asleep while standing, using the same expression from "Naughty Nautical Neighbors" after hearing Squidward play the clarinet.
  • Immune to Flinching: Hugdriver has super armor, meaning Patrick can't be knocked out of it once it starts. This initially only applied to the standard version, but a later update added it to the command-input version as well.
  • Improbable Weapon User:
    • Both of his up light attacks can damage opponents with a Krabby Patty.
    • His regular strong attack has him use a phone receiver as a weapon.
    • His Up Strongs involve weaponizing his "doing nothing for longer than anyone else" trophy.
  • Irony:
    • A character whose primary trait is being The Ditz is one of the only brawlers with a proper command input, giving him a higher skill ceiling then the other characters.
    • Hungrybox notes in Patrick's official spotlight video that the best way to play Patrick, The Ditz who has a notoriously poor grasp on reality, is to be slow, methodical, and to play mind games with your opponent.
Being a grappler means being slow, careful, and knowing how to get inside your opponent's head. Maybe things that Patrick himself isn't the best at doing.
  • Limit Break: Patrick summons his rock house and smashes the opponent with it.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter:
    • He is one of only two fighters in the game with a traditional Fighting Game special move input. Performing a 360 motion will make him perform an enhanced version of his Hugdriver, bringing to mind Zangief.
    • In 2, his light up air, Table Flip, is a projectile.
  • Metronomic Man Mashing:
    • He does this for his neutral special, Star Slam. He slams his opponent to the ground up to three times for each attack.
    • In 2, it's reworked into his new down special, Counter Slam, which functions as a counter rather than a grab.
  • Mighty Glacier: He's slow, but his attacks hit extremely hard and can KO at low percentages.
  • Spin Attack:
    • His neutral strong air has him spin around like a star.
    • His strong dash attack is called "Spinning Lariat". As of 2, it has become his neutral special, Double Lariat, and has him spin in place.
  • Suicide Attack: It's entirely possible to kamikaze off the stage with Hugdriver, not unlike the infamous "Bowsercide".
  • Taking You with Me: His Down Special, Hugdriver, has the potential to bring him and his opponent off-stage, getting both of them knocked out and losing a stock.
  • Taunt Button: For his taunt, he plays a mean belly, like in the episode, "Krabby Road".
  • Temporary Bulk Change: His strong dash attack has him temporarily become a muscular Top-Heavy Guy like in "The Fry Cook Games".
  • Trophy Violence: He uses a trophy for both of his up strong attacks.
  • Use Your Head: His strong down air is "Cone Crash". It has him crashing down headfirst to hit opponents.
  • Wrestler in All of Us: His Light N-Air is a Dropkick, his Strong Dash Attack is a Double Lariat, and his Down/Side Special, the Hugdriver, is a Power Bomb.

Playable in: 1
Home Stage: Glove World

"I can take care of myself. After all, who’s the strongest critter in Bikini Bottom?"

A thrill-seeking Texan squirrel who moved to Bikini Bottom, Sandra Jennifer Olivia Cheeks lives in a glass-enclosed "treedome" and wears an astronaut-like suit that allows her to breath oxygen underwater. After meeting SpongeBob, she quickly became one of his closest friends, though she can find his antics overbearing a lot of the time. Sandy is a country girl who indulges in many extreme hobbies, including surfing, weightlifting, and even karate. This is coupled with her passion for science, which often leads her to create extraordinary inventions.

See the Main Characters page for more information pertaining to her from her home series.

    Squidward

SQUIDWARD FACES THE MUSIC
From: SpongeBob SquarePants
Debut: Help Wanted - 5/1/1999
Playable in: 2
Home Stage: Bun Wrestling Ring

"Everyone's an idiot except for me."

An octopus who lives in a tiki head, Squidward is the long-suffering neighbor of SpongeBob and Patrick. Considering himself an underappreciated talent, when Squidward isn't working his hated job as a cashier at the Krusty Krab, he's playing his clarinet, painting self-portraits, or attempting to get his annoying neighbors to leave him alone, to not much success.

See Squidward's page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Art Attacker: Squidward's side special has him attack opponents with a random painting. The amount of damage depends on the painting.
  • Ascended Meme: Squidward is introduced in the reveal trailer through a recreation of the "Squidward Window" meme, and his in-game moveset includes various memes involving him such as Handsome Squidward, the bathtub from "Don't they know I'm busy spoiling myself", his Captain Magma headgear and "Krakatoa!", and his "janky hitbox" kick.
  • Death from Above: For his strong down aerial, he slams a marble pillar downward hitting anyone in its path.
  • The Door Slams You: Squidward slams a door on his opponent for his forward throw.
  • Musical Assassin: His clarinet is used as a weapon.
  • Perpetual Frowner: His default expression in this fighting game is a grumpy frown. Granted, with all he gets put through on a daily basis, it's understandable why he wouldn’t be smiling.
  • Random Effect Spell: Squidward's side special has him place a random painting in front of him that launches the opponent away. Exactly how much damage the painting does, and how far it knocks the opponent away, depends on the painting Squidward puts down.
  • Spin Attack: Squidward spins for his dash attack. He also twirls around in his super attack "Handsome Squidward" hitting anyone caught in the attack.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Squidward's down special, as shown in his character showcase, has him take a few seconds to get angry. If he pulls it off without being hit, he glows red and is granted large speed and damage boosts.

    Mecha Plankton

Sheldon J. Plankton

Voiced by: Mr. Lawrence

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/plankton_nasb2.png
From: SpongeBob SquarePants
Debut: Plankton! - 7/31/1999
Playable in: 2
Home Stage: Chum Bucket

"You'll never beat me. I went to COLLEGE!"

Sheldon J. Plankton is a tiny and, well, planktonic creature who runs the Chum Bucket, Bikini Bottom's least popular restaurant. He often plots against his former friend, Mr. Krabs, by attempting to steal the secret formula for Krabs' famous Krabby Patty. Thanks to his high intellect and college-level education, he has a wide array of gadgets to assist him in his schemes, including his snarky computer wife, Karen. However, he usually ends up being foiled by his own ego.

In Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, Plankton compensates for his size by piloting a larger robot version of himself — specifically, his tank robot from The Sponge Bob Movie Sponge Out Of Water.

See Plankton's page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Alternate Company Equivalent: He can be seen as the equivalent of Bowser Jr. in the Super Smash Bros. series, as a villainous fighter who mostly does battle via his Mini-Mecha from the same franchise as the Series Mascot.
  • Assist Character: Karen is shown to be built into his mecha in a few moves.
  • Edible Ammunition: Mecha Plankton fires sauce for his neutral special and strong up air attacks. He also fires a chumsicle for his light down air attack.
  • The Grappler: Has a command grab move that is essentially a shoutout to the famous Potemkin Buster.
  • Irony: Plankton is the smallest character in his home series (which is a given, being a microscopic organism), but in his mech, he's the biggest character in the game.
  • Limit Break: Sets his mech to self-destruct to explode other characters, much to their panic.
  • Mini-Mecha: Pilots one in his playable state, though it's only "mini" by the standards of other characters.
  • Robot Me: Plankton's mech looks like a (comparatively) giant version of himself.
  • Self-Destruct Mechanism: His super move has him activate this.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: One of his moves is a chain shot out of the top of his mecha that grabs and pulls airborne opponents toward him.
  • Your Size May Vary: Not Plankton himself, but his tank robot is much smaller than it was in Sponge Out of Water. In the movie, it was several stories tall, while in ''Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, it's significantly scaled down to the point where Plankton can visibly pilot it from above.

MR. KRABS IS HERE FOR THE MONEY!
From: SpongeBob SquarePants
Debut: Help Wanted - 5/1/1999
Playable in: 2 (DLC)
"Breathe on your own time. I'm payin' ya to go into battle!"

The owner of Bikini Bottom's most popular restaurant, the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs is an penny-pinching miser who employs Spongebob and Squidward. Keeper of the secret formula that makes the restaurant's iconic item, the Krabby Patty, what it is, he seeks to prevent his former friend and now rival Plankton from obtaining the formula while trying to swindle every last dime out of everyone.

Mr. Krabs was revealed on October 31, 2023 alongside Zuko, Iroh and Rocksteady as part of the Season Pass. He is the first character included in the Pass and was released on February 15, 2024.

See Mr. Krabs' page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Early-Bird Cameo: At 2's launch, he appeared only as a background character in the Bun Wrestling Ring stage before later being added to the roster via DLC.
  • Limit Break:
    • When his Money Meter is full, his down special becomes First Dime, which has him slamming his First Dime and sending his opponents flying.
    • His Super Attack has him dangling his opponent in the air with his fishing pole, followed by them getting eaten by the Clam.
  • Mana Meter: He has his Money Meter, a three-tier meter that fills up as he attacks and take damage, which also increases his speed and damage the more money he collects. The meter resets if he gets knocked out or he uses his down special while it's full.
  • Money Fetish: A core component of his character. His gameplay involves him collecting money on the ground, which buffs his speed and special attacks. His down air attack has him using a dollar bill on his rear like a towel.
Mr. Krabs: "I love winnin', but not as much as money!"
  • Money Slap: His neutral special has him swinging a sack of money at his opponent.
  • Ocular Gushers: His losing animation has him crying his eyes out, the stream of tears firing upwards like a fountain.
  • Sore Loser: He cries his eyes out when he loses.
  • Symbol Swearing: Weaponized with his strong up air attack, which depicts him with a speech bubble filled with a dolphin's face to represent swearing.
  • Threat Backfire: In a pre-fight interaction with the Flying Dutchman before the boss fight.
Flying Dutchman: All the money in the seven seas won't save you now!
  • Weapons That Suck: His down air has him using a vacuum cleaner to suck up and spit out his opponents.
  • Wingding Eyes: True to his character, his Down Charge attack has him sporting dollar signs in his eyes as he charges the attack, and he also does this in one of his character portraits in the Campaign.
  • World's Smallest Violin: A literal example. His down taunt has him playing a microscopic violin.
  • Wrestler in All of Us: He uses an elbow drop in his down throw.

Animated Debut: Turtle Tracks - 12/14/1987
Playable in: 1
Special Attacks: Niten Ichi-ryu, Endless Screw, Backflip
Home Stage: Sewers Slam

"We Turtles don't know the meaning of the word 'defeat'."

The stoic eldest brother of the Heroes in a Half-Shell. Leonardo ("Leo" for short) is the most serious and competent member of the team, and the one most dedicated to his ninja tutelage. He leads the Turtles against the Foot Clan with his iconic pair of ninjatō swords in hand.

See the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles page for more information pertaining to him from his home franchise, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) page for information pertaining to the incarnation seen in All-Star Brawl.

  • Bilingual Bonus: "Niten Ichi-ryu" is the Japanese term for Leonardo's fighting style ("two heavens as one").
  • Charged Attack: His neutral special, "Niten Ichi-ryu", is a solid charged strike which can combo into a second hit if the button is pressed again.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Like Marth from Super Smash Bros. Melee, he fights best at a slight distance, close enough for his combos to land but far enough to take advantage of his swords' reach.
  • Composite Character: Leonardo's based on his 1987 version, but many of his quotes come from different versions of him.
  • Death of a Thousand Cuts: He's best at chipping away small amounts of damage gradually before ending with a solid strike.
  • Deliberately Monochrome: Leo's alternate skin is all white in reference to his appearance in the Mirage Comics.
  • Demoted to Extra: He makes a cameo appearance in Donatello's super in 2.
  • Diving Kick: His down special has him backflip, then perform a dive kick if you press the button again.
  • Dual Wielding: Leonardo fights with two katanas like usual.
  • Home Stage: Sewers Slam, a stage which takes place in the NYC sewers. Slime sometimes comes out of the pipes and moves around the stage, moving characters with them.
  • Idle Animation: He twirls his katanas in place at the same time then looks behind him for a moment.
  • Instant Flight: Just Add Spinning!: His up special, "Endless Screw", involves spinning upward with his swords.
  • Jack of All Stats: He's pretty balanced in speed and weight, and while he has no projectiles, his swords lend him extra range.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: He fights wielding two katanas.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Where Leonardo is the most serious of the Turtles and focuses entirely on his studious swordfighting, Michelangelo is the most fun-loving and uses more unconventional methods of attack.
  • Spin Attack: His up special, and some of his strong attacks, involve spinning.
  • Taunt Button: He assumes a fighting stance holding his left katana in front of him and twirling the right one twice.

From: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987)
Character debut: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (May 1984)
Animated Debut: Turtle Tracks - 12/14/1987
Playable in: 1
Special Attacks: Wanna Pizza This?, Turtle Line, Party Dude
Home Stage: Technodrome Takedown

"Dude, I could be gaming."

The wisecracking youngest sibling of the four Ninja Turtles. Michelangelo (otherwise known as "Mikey") is a party dude who'd rather skateboard and read comics than train in the ninja arts. Even so, he is just as skilled in combat as his brothers. With his signature pair of nunchaku, he runs into battle and has a good time doing so.

See the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles page for more information pertaining to him from his home franchise, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) page for information pertaining to the incarnation seen in All-Star Brawl.

  • Air Guitar: His Light Down attack is called "Air Guitar". He moves forward a bit in true rock 'n roll style.
  • Ass Kicks You: His strong dash attack is called "Rear Tackle". It has him charge and ram shell-first into his opponent.
  • Close-Range Combatant: He is a rushdown-type character that specializes in close quarter combat and combos. His pizza throwing is his only ranged attack.
  • Composite Character:
    • While he's generally Michelangelo, he also takes at least one of Raphael's moves from a previous fighting game appearance.
    • Michelangelo's based on his 1987 version, but many of his quotes come from different versions of him.
  • Cool Board: He rides a skate board for his light dash attack.
  • Dance Battler: His down special, called "Party Dude", has him breakdance by spinning.
  • Deliberately Monochrome: Mikey's alternate skin is all white in reference to his appearance in the Mirage Comics.
  • Demoted to Extra: He makes a cameo appearance in Donatello's super in 2.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Mastering Michelangelo requires a lot of practice, as many of his attacks have unconventional hitboxes or odd properties that vary depending on how you land them.
  • Edible Ammunition: His "Wanna Pizza This?" special move has him throw a pizza at his enemies.
  • Fighting Clown: To a lesser extent than other characters, but he still has much sillier attacks than his more serious brother, including air guitar, breakdancing, and even throwing pizza at his opponents' faces.
  • Grappling-Hook Pistol: His up special, "Turtle Line".
  • Home Stage: Technodrome Takedown, a stage which has the Technodrome in the background and several large moving platforms.
  • Idle Animation: He twirls both of his nunchaku at the same time.
  • Shotoclone: While he's explicitly described as a rushdown character, his use of a projectile and "Hurricane Kick" in his specials, as well as his DPs in his light and strong attacks, suggest a Ken Masters-style rushdown shoto.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Where Leonardo is the most serious of the Turtles and focuses entirely on his studious swordfighting, Michelangelo is the most fun-loving and uses more unconventional methods of attack.
  • Spin Attack: His down special, "Party Dude", involves breakdancing in the form of spinning.
  • Taunt Button: He pulls out a slice of pizza and eats it.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pizza, if you couldn't tell from his neutral special and taunt animation.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: His "Turtle Line" up special has him use his nunchaku to hit opponents above and make them fall towards him.

Playable in: 1, 2
Special Attacks: Breaking News! (1)/Interview (2), On The Air!, Blimp, On The Air! (1) / Paparazzi Somersault (2)
Home Stage: Rooftop Rumble

"The news isn't the only thing breaking tonight."

An esteemed reporter from Channel 6 News. April O'Neil's initial report on stolen hi-tech equipment led to her first meeting with the Turtles, after they saved her from a gang of street thugs. She soon became their first human ally, acting as their middleman to the outside world.

See the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles page for more information pertaining to her from her home franchise, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) page for information pertaining to the incarnation seen in All-Star Brawl.

  • Action Girl: Canonically, she's more of a non-combatant, but here she is a badass who is beating foes with news reporting equipment and close-combat martial arts like punches and kicks.
  • Adaptational Badass: As opposed to other Aprils, who trained under Splinter, this one is a complete noncombatant in her original series. She, nonetheless, can hold her own against anyone here.
  • Adaptational Modesty: Her jumpsuit used to be zipped up lower in the cartoon, giving her a bigger Cleavage Window. Here, it's zipped up higher.
  • Area of Effect: April takes out a studio camera for her Down Special. Anyone in front of it gets damaged.
  • Badass Adorable: She's a beautiful woman, and she can attack her opponent's with her broadcasting equipments.
  • Badass Normal: April has no superpowers of her own, but that won't stop her from duking it out with superheroes, kajius and monsters.
  • Balloonacy: She holds on to a miniature-scale replica of the Turtle Blimp as her recovery special.
  • Composite Character: April's based on her 1987 version, but many of her quotes come from different versions of her.
  • Evolving Attack: Her ratings system allows her to buff her mid special up to three levels by hitting opponents with her camera attacks.
  • Glass Cannon: She has strong attack power, but she's easy to launch.
  • Home Stage: Rooftop Rumble, which takes place on a rooftop in New York. It has one large stationary platform in the middle of the stage, akin to Hollow Bastion and hazards-off Smashville.
  • Idle Animation: She does a mic check by lightly tapping it with her hand.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Most of her attacks use studio equipment, like a studio camera, a microphone, a boom mic, camera flashes, etc.
  • Intrepid Reporter: She's a news reporter who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and put up a fight.
  • Kick Chick: Aside from using studio equipment, this female fighter generally fights with kicks.
  • Limit Break: Her neutral special, "Breaking News!", is a move that can be charged up and unleash a super-powerful finishing punch.
  • Martial Arts and Crafts: Skirts the line, as while April still uses plenty of kicks and the occasional punch, the rest of her fighting style involves using her studio equipment in an offensive manner, most notably when she hits opponents with her microphone and pen.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Downplayed: April's moveset is mostly normal, but she also has a unique ratings system that certain attacks will charge up. When sufficiently charged, she can power up her neutral special for a powerful finishing blow.
  • Sword and Fist: She compliments her studio equipment with a plethora of kicks.
  • Taunt Button: She poses and shrugs while looking at the camera as if she's pretending to be shocked.

    Shredder

Oroku Saki / The Shredder

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cheese_large.PNG
SHREDDER CUTS TO THE CHASE!
From: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987)
Character debut: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (May 1984)
Animated Debut: Turtle Tracks - 12/14/1987
Playable in: 1 (DLC)
Home Stage: Slime Time

"I've molded myself into perfection. Look upon me and know fear."

The cruel and merciless leader of the once-honorable Foot clan, Oroku Saki, or better known by his alias "The Shredder", is the Arch-Enemy of the Ninja Turtles. Having once usurped the clan from his rival, Hamato Yoshi, Shredder's allegiance with the warlord Krang would pave the way to countless diabolical plots to conquer the world and be rid of the Turtles once and for all.

Shredder was planned to be a part of the base roster, but was cut from launch due to time constraints. He was soon added to the game as free DLC on February 3rd, 2022. He appears in 2 as a non-playable boss

See the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles page for more information pertaining to him from his home franchise, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) page for information pertaining to the incarnation seen in All-Star Brawl.

  • Adaptational Badass: The 1987 incarnation of Shredder was the quintessential Saturday-Morning Cartoon villain, coming up with multiple zany schemes and suffering countless embarrassing defeats, and while he was still a capable fighter, he usually ended up retreating when things went pear-shaped. Here, he's much more lethal, making use of incredibly brutal, multi-hitting attacks that demonstrate that he's a force to be reckoned with. His Arcade Mode quotes coming from his more menacing incarnations help with that, as well.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: The best way to play Shredder is to get up in the opponent's face with his powerful close-range attacks without giving them a chance to fight back.
  • Badass Cape: His flowing purple cape helps make him quite intimidating. It is also animated more fluidly compared to the rest of the game.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: Obviously. He uses his trademark bladed gauntlets for a lot of his attacks.
  • Boss Subtitles: Is Here To Shred! in 2.
  • Breaking Old Trends: He's the first and only DLC fighter whose bundled stage comes from a different series altogether. Despite being a TMNT character, his bundled stage is based off Double Dare (1986). However, in the actual game, his home stage is considered to be Rooftop Rumble, which he shares with April — also making him the only character to share a home stage with someone else.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Shredder has a wide array of powerful close-range moves, but no projectiles.
  • Composite Character: Uses his appearance and one of his voice actors from the 1987 series, but several of his quotes are taken from his 2003 and 2012 counterparts.
  • Demoted to Extra: Goes from being a playable character in the first game to a boss character in the second.
  • Glass Cannon: Played With: Shredder's a middleweight, but his high damage output is offset by his large size making him combo-food to most of the cast.
  • Home Stage: Shredder is unique in that he has two such stages.
    • In-game, he shares Rooftop Rumble with April.
    • His bundled stage, which he's pictured on in the official website, is Double Dare. It has four platforms and a slime floor that players can float on for a couple seconds before sinking.
  • Shoryuken: His up special is three consecutive uppercuts.
  • Spectacular Spinning: One of his moves is Spinning Shred.
  • Spin Attack: Shredder's light neutral air has him perform a rolling spin with his claws, which hits multiple times for high damage.
  • Status Buff: Shredder can use Supercharge to buff the damage of his strong attacks. After three strong attacks, the buff will disappear until Shredder reapplies it.
  • Taking You with Me: Shredder's strong up air has him grab above him with his claw. If he grabs someone with it, he will slam them into the ground; if there's no ground beneath him, he'll drag them all the way to the blast line instead.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: Hammy he may be, the Shredder is a lot more menacing here, especially compared to the other less pleasant people in the roster like Zim or Ren, with little to no humor in his actions or words, and recycling lines from far more monstrous Shredders.

Animated Debut: Turtle Tracks - 12/14/1987
Playable in: 2
Home Stage: Technodrome Takedown

"Well, this is a good opportunity to test my latest invention."

Second youngest of the four turtles and the brains of the team, Donatello is the one that does machines. When he’s not smashing Foot Soldiers with his bo staff, he’s creating equipment of varying reliability for his brothers and their allies.

See the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles page for more information pertaining to him from his home franchise, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) page for information pertaining to the incarnation seen in All-Star Brawl.

  • Ascended Extra: Went from appearing in an online profile picture in the original game to a fully playable fighter in the second game.
  • Teleportation: His Side Special "Smoke Bomb", has him throw one forward, creating a small shroud of smoke on the stage. Pressing side special again has Donatello teleport to that shroud from anywhere on the stage.

From: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987)
Character Debut: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (May 1984)
Animated Debut: Turtle Tracks - 12/14/1987
Playable in: 2
Home Stage: Sewers Slam

"Mess with the turtle, get the shell!"

Second oldest of the turtle brothers and the brawn of the team, he’s pretty cool yet rude. Quick to get into arguments with his brothers as he can get into fights with his enemies, his wit can stab just as hard as his sai.

See the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles page for more information pertaining to him from his home franchise, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) page for information pertaining to the incarnation seen in All-Star Brawl.

  • Ascended Extra: Like his brother Donnie, Raph goes from an online profile picture in the original game to a fully playable fighter in the second game.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Raphael is a rushdown character who excels at getting into the opponent's face with his high mobility and powerful close-range options.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Raphael is primarily a close-range brawler who uses his sais to deal heavy damage up close. Even his projectile, Shuriken, has a fairly short range and is primarily meant to complement his rushdown playstyle.
  • Glass Cannon: As shown in his showcase, Raphael is the fastest character in All-Star Brawl 2 with the power to match, but he's also one of the lightest characters and can easily get knocked off the stage.

Once a human member of a gang of criminals affiliated with the Foot Clan, Rocksteady was mutated into a rhinoceros by the Shredder following a humiliating defeat by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Alongside his mutated warthog best friend Bebop, Rocksteady constantly attempts to defeat the Turtles on behalf of the Shredder, but his constant bumbling inevitably results in their attempts failing miserably. What he lacks in intelligence, Rocksteady makes up for in sheer strength and formidability.

The Wild Thornberrys

    Nigel

Nigel Archibald Thornberry

Voiced by: Jim Meskimen

NASB1
From: The Wild Thornberrys
Debut: Pilot/Flood Warning - 9/1/1998
Playable in: 1, 2
Home Stage: Wild Waterfall (1), Wild Savannah (2)

"No creature threatens a Thornberry!"

The son of British aristocrats and world-renowned nature documentary producer, Sir Nigel Archibald Thornberry KBE travels the world alongside his family, capturing footage of the local wildlife and their habitats. His eccentric personality, as well as his youngest daughter's hidden ability to communicate with animal life, often causes him and his family to wind up in life-threatening situations.

See the The Wild Thornberrys page for more information pertaining to him from his home series.

  • Animal-Themed Fighting Style: Nigel attacks with movements that mimic animals. These include a straight punch while in a hunched-over ape pose, a woodpecker-like bite, and contorting his legs to kick forward while laying down like a scorpion stabbing with its tail.
  • Attack Animal: His strong dash attack involves a crocodile.
  • Badass Normal: He's a nature documentary host who can duke it out with superheroes, ninjas, monsters, and so on.
  • Contortionist: Nigel Thornberry seems to be as flexible as a jellyfish - he bends his back and stretches his legs far past the movement range of an ordinary person for his strong down attack called "Scorpion Sting" ("Aerial Scorpion Sting" for when he's jumping). It gets reworked as his light down attack in the sequel.
  • Death from Above: His up special, Smashing Whale, has him crashing down, damaging any opponents in the way.
  • Death or Glory Attack: His "Flick" deals a ton of damage and has a great knockback, but its hitbox is tiny and leaves Nigel completely static for a second (and you don't want to be static for a second in the heat of battle).
  • Fighting Clown: He has the wackiest moveset to date, since he explicitly mimics animals, from an orangutan-like punch, to a woodpecker peck, to using Toon Physics to stab with his foot like a scorpion.
  • Finger Poke of Doom: His "Flick" has him flicking his fingers at the opponent, dealing a lot of damage and knockback in the process.
  • Gag Nose: Just like in his home series, he has a comically large, bulbous nose. He actually puts it to good use in his light air, which has him peck at the opponent like a woodpecker.
  • Home Stage: Wild Waterfall, a large stage with multiple platforms at the sides and a bottomless pit in the middle.
  • Idle Animation: He looks up with his binoculars, then spins them like a basketball on his hand.
  • Intangibility: The Worm allows Nigel to become invulnerable to damage for a brief period of time while also giving him the ability to pass through foes, although it doesn't deal any damage.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Though his base mobility is only average, Nigel can use both The Worm and his light down air to move across the screen at high speeds, on top of retaining his high damage and kill power. His main weakness is his large frame and high weight making him easy to combo.
  • Megaton Punch: His neutral strong has him take the form of an orangutan and perform a strong punch.
  • Mighty Glacier: In the first game, he's a heavyweight character with average speed, but his moves have great power and knockback. This is averted in 2 , where he becomes the lightest character in the game.
  • Not Quite Flight: In the sequel, Nigel borrows Hugh’s flight techniques and uses them to jump 4 times in the air.
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: His strong dash attack has him ride atop a crocodile. Notably, it's the only animal-themed attack in his moveset where he summons the animal in question instead of mimicking it.
  • Poisonous Person: His light down attack in the sequel can poison opponents hit by his foot for a short period of time.
  • Use Your Head: In the second game, Nigel's strong down attack called "Ostrich Bury" has him stick his head in the ground hitting nearby opponents. His strong up aerial called "Giraffe Neck" has him swinging his head around.
  • Taunt Button: He looks behind him back and forth, as if looking for the foe after knocking them off the stage.
  • Visual Pun:
    • He has a punch that has him assume the form of an orangutan. He's basically giving the opponent The Monkey's Paw, or attacking with a Monkey Fist.
    • His recovery has him act like a fish jumping out of the water. He's taking the phrase Bouncing Fish or Dolphin Slash a bit too literally.

From: El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera
Debut: Zebra Donkey - 3/17/2007

  • Adaptation Name Change: Zig-Zagged. The game introduces her as "Sartana de los Muertos", but she's referred to "Sartana of the Dead" in the credits. Putting her name through a spanish translator reveals that she's again called, "Sartana of the Dead."
  • Boss Subtitles: Comes Back From the Dead!
  • Flaming Meteor: Sartana makes meteors fall from the sky for one or her attacks.

    Vlad Plasimus

Vladimir "Vlad" Masters/Vlad Plasmius

Voiced by: Trevor Devall

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vlad_plasmius_nasb2.png
From: Danny Phantom
Debut: Bitter Reunions - 5/7/2004

"Your power pales in comparison to mine!"

The arch-nemesis of Danny Phantom, Vlad, like Danny, is a half-human, half-ghost hybrid. One fateful day, while working on a prototype ghost portal with his friend, Jack Fenton, the portal went haywire upon activating and shot Vlad in the face with a blast of ectoplasmic energy, which resulted in him getting a severe case of ecto-acne that left him horribly disfigured and ruined his social life. However, Vlad would soon discover that the accident had given him ghost powers, much like how Danny would get his upon being exposed to ecto-energy himself. But rather than use his newfound powers for good, Vlad would use them to amass a vast fortune from stolen riches and invisible insider trading, becoming a wealthy business tycoon in the process, and to plot his revenge against Jack Fenton for ruining his social life all those years ago.

In Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, Vlad serves as the main villain of the game's single-player campaign, where he plots to conquer the universe with the help of a machine that allows him to control the minds of various Nickelodeon characters. At least, until he's defeated for the third time and the true threat is revealed towards the end of the story...
  • Actually a Doombot: After being defeated in his first boss fight, Plasmius reveals he's one of the real Vlad's clones distracting the heroes.
  • Big Bad: Of the second game. At least, until his final defeat near the end of the story.
  • Boss Subtitles: The Villain Of The Story! Duh!
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: On the giving end, as he easily dispatches SpongeBob in one shot after the latter defeats King Jellyfish.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: After he's defeated for the third and final time in the Campaign mode, it turns out that Vlad had ulterior motives for wanting to control everyone's minds, as it is soon revealed that Clockwork had been corrupted by Vlad's machine and used his powers to watch the destruction of the universe on loop after going beyond the confines of the Timeless Stardial, where he could keep himself in check.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: After Clockwork is defeated and his mind brought back to normal, it's revealed in a post-game interaction with Vlad that his plan for conquering the universe did not at all involve blowing it up, as that would result in many unnecessary casualties.
Vlad:"Look, I built that machine to control minds, but even I didn't plan on blowing up the universe! Do you know how many ghosts that would've resulted in? Yikes!"

    The Final Boss (SPOILERS)

Clockwork

Voiced by: Piotr Michael

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/clockwork_nasb2.png
From: Danny Phantom
Debut: The Ultimate Enemy - 9/16/2005

"Tick-tock! Your time's almost up!"

The ghost of time, Clockwork maintains the flow of time, only getting involved when said flow gets disturbed. He is omnipotent and knows every facet of time, be it past, present, or future. He has no influence on Danny Phantom's life, preferring to remain neutral in regards to managing time, although it hasn't stopped him from manipulating events to ensure a positive future.

In Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, Clockwork assists the fighters in defeating Vlad Plasmius by providing them with time medallions and rewinding time to bring them back to the Timeless Stardial should they fall in battle. After Vlad is defeated for the final time, however, Clockwork reveals the truth about Vlad's machine and how he had succumbed to its effects, becoming the true threat to the universe.

  • Boss Subtitles: He's Evil Now. What A Plot Twist!
  • Death Is Cheap: Thanks to his time manipulation powers, Clockwork can rewind time to revive fighters if they happen to fall in battle during a run in the Campaign mode.
  • Drunk on the Dark Side: Vlad's universe-destroying machine corrupted him, leading him to constantly rewind time and rewatch its destruction for his own amusement until the player can beat some sense back into him.
  • True Final Boss: He can only be fought at the end of a run after Vlad has already been defeated in a past run.
