Naruto - Danzo Shimura

  • Born in the Wrong Century: Danzo's draconian views and actions in the name of Konoha's "protection" may have been more welcomed with open arms in a far more chaotic and violent era than the increasingly more tamed and peaceful one he lives and grows old in.

For the Shredder section in the Turtles character page.

  • Revenge Before Reason: Revenge is a common trait that has followed Shredder in later incarnations since the Mirage comics. Shredder utterly refuses to let any slight against him go and he'll use any underhanded means to have it righted, real or perceived. Sometimes, it even ties into his backstory with Hamato Yoshi, either being a fellow student or former friend of his that turned evil out of jealousy after Hamato proves he's the better warrior between the two. While this trait is often the source of his motives and drive, it can also be detrimental to his combat prowess that the turtles eventually recognize and take advantage of in later encounters.

For the Magnificent Bastard thread:

  • "Sqweegel": The titular "Sqweegel", also known as "Ian Moone", is an enigmatic and dangerously intelligent killer who targets local heroes with dark secrets. Stalking his victims for an extended period of time before attacking them but leaving them alive in order to convince to confess, making sure not to leave any traceable evidence through use of a full body rubber suit that he bought using a fake name. Attacking Margot Wilton for hiding her murder of her crippled son, Sqweegel leaves clues for the investing officers pointing towards her secret, before later killing the unfaithful Carrie Jones and escaping without being detected, leaving her daughter untouched. Attacking Margot once more, Sqweegel spares her when she admits her crime and escapes leaving the body of a corrupt paramedic in a indectical rubber suit to distract the heroes, making sure to leave hidden letters revealing her deed for the authorities to find.

Any corrections?

Nari then blows his cover to prevent the saloon owner's death and, surprisingly, it's not a Senseless Sacrifice, as the Inquisitors don't bother to kill the saloon owner for harboring a Jedi before leaving in pursuit of Nari.

For the Wano arc recap for One Piece.

  • Character Death: This arc has a notable body count compared to most One Piece arcs. Of the confirmed deaths, Izo and Ashura meet their ends by the end of the Onigashima War. Kanjuro is mortally wounded after Kin'emon stabs the both of them in the their fight, using the last of his strength to draw a fire spirit on Orochi's orders before expiring. Orochi is beheaded by Denjuro in the climax of the arc after being set on fire and down to his last hydra head. And Hawkins is also mortally wounded after losing his left arm in his fight with Killer, seemingly dying from blood loss after his last conversation with X. Drake.

  • Back in the Saddle: The theme of the episode. Tommy comes out of retirement, proving herself as a capable paramedic. At the roller derby, Julie is coming back from a torn ACL and has the trope name said to her by her team mate, Tonya.
  • Coitus Interruptus: Tommy and Charles are about to have sex after she gets off work, only for Judd and Grace to show up at the door.
  • Conspiracy Theorist: A sniper tries to kill a phone line worker while he's on a cell tower under the belief 5G towers cause COVID-19.
  • Dramatic Dislocation: Tonya's arm is dislocated in the pileup and has no pulse, meaning it could become necrotic. Tommy pops it back into place, restoring blood flow and saving her arm.
  • The Masochism Tango: Owen and Gwen regularly go from shouting matches to marathon sex, especially during the coronavirus lockdown.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Owen tells Lt. Vasquez he feels the same way about how the country has forgotten the sacrifices of first responders of 9/11 like how Vasquez feels the government has forgotten his daughter.
  • Sherlock Scan: Paul recognizes the sniper is coming from a unit where the window is the only one open next to a running air conditioner.
  • Tank Goodness: An M1 Abrams is stolen from the Texas Military Forces Museum in the opening. It's stolen by Lt. John Vasquez, an Operation Desert Storm veteran whose daughter Sophia, a veteran of the Afghanistan/Iraq War, was denied care by the VA.
  • Wham Shot: The episode ends on molten lava oozing through the streets.

Hi fellas. It's me again. Let's have another try.

Hi fellow tropers. Today I have a character from a renowned Fan Work, who, despite having a page for his story here, it really surprised me to have gone unnoticed until now. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you.... Rastapopoulos!

What's the Work?

Tintin and Alph-Art is a 1986 comic book drawn and written by the Canadian comic book artist Yves Rodier, being this a full version of the last comic book of The Adventures of Tintin series by Hergé, who tragically passed away while writing it. What's interesting is that this story nearly became Ascended Fanon thanks to Rodier befriending Hergé's assistant Bob de Moor, who vouched for him, but the publisher didn't let them out of legality. The original story had Tintin investigating about a mysterious kind of art known as Alph-Art, created by the avant-garde artist Ramó Nash. However, as usual, Tintin ends up being discovered by the bad guys, this time being an art-forging gang led by the enigmatic spiritual leader Endaddine Akass, and they prepare to kill him by turning him into a work of César Baldaccini. The story was unfortunately Left Hanging there due to Hergé dying before he could finish the comic, but Rodier wrote this pastiche to finish the story as a tribute to Hergé.

Who is Rastapopoulos? What has he done?

If you don't know, Roberto Rastapopoulos is the Big Bad of the series and Tintin's Arch-Enemy. Following the events of Tintin: Flight 714, Rastapopoulos met Ramó Nash, an impoverished artist from Jamaica, and recruited him into forging art works from famous sculpters and painters, passing them as real and making a profit out of it. In addition, to avoid being recognized, Rastapopoulos subjected himself to plastic surgery to change his appearance (and thankfully, get rid of that immense nose), becoming the spiritual leader Endaddine Akass, allowing him to walk free again in the streets, and acquiring a villa at the Ischia island to live there.

Some years after his last encounter with Tintin, Rastapopoulos has Jacques Monastir and Henri Fourcart, two art experts, killed because they threaten his criminal enterprise. When Tintin investigates Fourcart's death due to Fourcart trying to contact him to tell him about his findings, Rastapopoulos sends his men to kill Tintin, but he survives. Tintin suspects of Fourcart's assistant Ms. Vandezande, but it turns out that they bad guys knew about Tintin's investigation thanks to a pendant Akass gave to Fourcart's assistant. Tintin goes to a spiritual session accompanied by his friend Captain Archibald Haddock and upon hearing Endaddine's voice, feels like he has heard it before.

Tintin and Haddock go to Akass' villa to resolve the mystery and are invited by Bianca Castafiore to stay there. That night, Tintin sees suspicious activity at Akass' villa and uncovers Nash's fake art works, only to be discovered by Akass, who decides to transform Tintin into a polyesterover sculpture of César Baldiccini. The next day, Akass nearly gets Tintin drown with the polyesterover liquid, but Haddock and Tintin's dog Snowy come to his rescue. As such, Akass incriminates the pair as thieves and has them brought to a cottage, where he reveals himself and announces his intentions to kill them.

Fortunately, Thomson and Thompson come to save the day and the police goes after Rastapopoulos' men while Rastapopoulos escapes with Tintin and Haddock as his hostages. Despite being pointed out by Tintin and Haddock that he will not be able to escape as the cops and the detectives have apprehended his men by now, Rastapopoulos doesn't care and decides to hang them from a cliff's tree just so he can go to prison with the satisfaction of having gotten rid of them for good. Unfortunately for Rastapopoulos, a redeemed Ramó runs towards him and pushes him off the cliff to save Tintin and Haddock, sending Rastapopoulos to his death.

Freudian Excuse? Redeeming qualities?

Nope. It's Rastapopoulos who we are talking about. His last official appearance had him actually reveal that he screwed up his own family for no apparent reason and thinks that he should be praised for that.

Heinousness

He has no problems about if he is terrible enough to stand out or not because, as Rodier's story was intended to be the conclusion of the series, this Rastapopoulos did the same things his canon counterpart did, such as drug dealing in Europe and Asia, human trafficking across Arabia and the kidnapping and attempted murder of Laszlo Carreidas, his crewmembers and his guests. Even if that isn't enough, here he murders two art experts who could have exposed him, tries to sell Tintin's corpse as a statue had he succeeded in killing him, shoots at Tintin's friends and Snowy (without success, fortunately) for trying to stop him and later tries to sadistically hang Tintin and Haddock out of spite for ruining him, so this Rastapopoulos adds more depravity to the original, which means he passes it.

Verdict

Sounds like a keeper.

@ Cluedo

  • Ambiguously Absent Parent: Ms. Scarlet is Ms. Peacock's stepdaughter rather than her biological daughter in at least some of the episodes, but neither of her biological parents is ever mentioned. Her father isn't the late Jack Peacock, at least not according to "The Bolivian Connection", where she tries to flirt with him to avoid being evicted when he turns out to be Not Quite Dead.

@ Island in the Sea of Time (Series)

  • Hufflepuff House: The Shang Dynasty of China is the only major power that is completely uninvolved in the various wars of the trilogy. It's only mentioned in an easy to miss way as a world power that other characters are starting to trade with.

@ Island in the Sea of Time (Series)

  • Honorary Uncle: Walker's kids call Ohotolarix "Uncle Otho."
  • Genre Savvy: During a parlay, an angry Marian makes a foreboding reference to her timeline's military strategy that Isketerol lacks the knowledge to get. However, he does correctly sense that "what you just asked me was like one of those oracles that only make sense after the disaster has happened."
  • Never My Fault: Before surrendering in the third book, Isketerol causes a lot of death and damage to his empire by refusing to make peace at an earlier date. When Marian points this out, Isketerol makes a rather hollow rebuttal and then changes the subject without seeming affected or contemplative at all.

Helmut Mittier

A former East German spy who immigrated to the U.S. after the fall of the Iron Curtain
  • Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: The heroes trick him into poisoning Walker, his heir, and Alice, then immediately take Mittier prisoner, rub in how they're definitely not going to let him survive and prosper, and kill him.
  • Secret Police: He pursued dissidents for the East German Stasi and is happy to take a similar job for Walker and ensure his totalitarian reign is secure.

Danny Rodriguez

A Coast Guardsman who tries to rape one of the ship's cadets (who ends up beating him up instead) early in the first book. He ends up being non-fatally keelhauled as punishment, and later joins Walker due to vindictive resentment and to rape without being stopped.
  • Demoted to Extra: He's a villainous Mauve Shirt in the first book but only gets one scene apiece in the sequels (and one is just as a Dead Guy on Display).
  • Dirty Coward: He never shows the slights bit of courage and it's quite disgusting, just like the other aspects of his personality. He only attacks women he thinks are helpless.makes nervous excuses when being tried for rape and wails piteously both when marooning him is recommended and when he gets keelhauled.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: The man is a rapist with almost no other facets to his personality and no remorse for his crimes. He ends up being stabbed by an unwilling harem member.

George McAndrews

A Coast Guard cadet who feels that Alston should use her resources to help the early African tribes form an empire and joins Walker to get the power to do this himself.
  • Anti-Villain: He aids Walker with some horrible actions but he hates doing so, has a endgame more noble than his leader, and at one point has to be knocked unconscious and dragged away from a lost battlefront when he won’t abandon his pregnant lover.

Iphigenia

The daughter of thhere Greek King Agamemnon. She becomes one of Walker's concubines upon learning that in the old timeline, her father sacrificed her to the gods at the outset of the Trojan War.

  • Uncertain Doom: She's last mentioned well before the downfall of Walker's empire, and it's never mentioned what happens to and the child they have. Althea is referred to as "The last scion of the House of Wolf" shortly after other members of the family are killed, but that may just refer to her own knowledge.

Harold and Althea Walker

Walker's two eldest children.

  • Daddy's Little Villain: Althea is a young adolescent who is just as ruthless to her father, abuses slaves, makes causal comments about a princess being made a Sex Slave, and is excited about commando raids, which she wants to participate in when she's old enough.
  • Overlord Jr.: Harold is groomed to succeed his father and takes in his lessons with eager interest.
  • The Remnant: Althea leads many of her father's followers in fleeing to set up a new empire after Walker dies.
@ Batman the Brave and the Bold S 2 E 4 Aquaman's Outrageous Adventure!

  • A Day in the Limelight: Aquaman and his family are the focus of the episode and Batman only has a couple of minutes of screen-time.

@ Batman The Brave And The Bold S 2 E 1 Long Arm Of The Law

  • A Day in the Limelight: Plastic Man's home life gets a lot of attention and he has almost twice as much screen-time as Batman does in this episode.
@ Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Protagonists

  • Heroes Love Dogs: Plastic Man is a well-meaning superhero and gets along well with his family's dachshund.

@ Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon

  • Big Brother Bully: Tin, Pan, and Alley are bigger and older than Tom when they're all kittens under Drizelda's care and their comments upon meeting him again years later implies that they bullied him in those days.
  • Jerkass Façade: The village baker is nicer than his neighbors but hides it. He loudly and rudely berates Athena's efforts to collect food for the unruly animals in her care while winking at her and sneaking some food into her basket.
@ Beyond Loch Ness
  • Action Survivor: Zoe is the only major character aside from Brody (who's wounded early on and is the film's resident annoying douchebag) to never kill any monsters (although she throws rocks at some to distract them from Josh). Still, she has several close calls with the monsters (sometimes exposing herself to danger deliberately to help her friends) and survives due to a combination of luck, being able to climb trees, and absorbing Josh's warnings to stay absolutely still so that the creatures won't notice her when she doesn't have cover.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Zoe is the only blonde character and is polite to her ex-boyfriend, gets along well with the foreign exchange student her family is hosting, searches determinedly for said student after she disappears, helps Brody cope with his injured leg, and risks her life to draw the monster away from other people on multiple occasions.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Brody bullies Josh and gets more handsy than appropriate with Zoe early on. He also risks his life by throwing rocks at the monster to divert it away from Chad and compliments Josh during his efforts to bring Bring Help Back. However, when he thinks Josh died and won't be back, he loses that sense of gratitude and calls him a "pansy."
  • Sacrificial Lion: Deputy Neil accompanies his boss for most of the film, has a personal beef against the mother monster after it kills his sister, and snipes several baby monsters in the climax, but he falls victim to the creatures five minutes before the end.
  • Senseless Sacrifice: A roundabout version occurs when Chad dies after shooting a Flare Gun at the monster as it attacks Brody (who attracted it by by throwing rocks at it after it cornered Chad a minute earlier). Brody dies later in the movie, robbing Chad's sacrifice of some of its meaning.

@ Smallville: Meteor Freaks

  • Freudian Excuse: In addition to being traumatically attacked by bees when she got her powers, Sasha says her parents raised her to view everyone as either winners or losers, which makes her overly obsessed with winning the election at any cost.
  • Heel–Face Door-Slam: In "Cure", Chloe learns that Sasha has no memories of her past crimes but is genuinely apologetic about them and wants a fresh start. Barely a scene later, she's kidnapped and vivisected for Dr. Knox's experiment.

    Sarah Conroy

Sarah Conroy

Played by: Katharine Isabelle
  • Corrupted Character Copy: Inverted. Her powers are like those of Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, as she can enter people's dreams and control the dreamworld (which has real dangers). She's even played by an actress from one of the Elm Street movies. However, she's a kind, innocent person with no malicious feelings toward anyone.
  • Shipper on Deck: She supports Clark and Lana getting together.
  • Sole Survivor: Sarah and her parents were in a car accident (which inadvertently exposed her to meteor rocks) several years ago, and she was the only survivor.
@ Smallville
  • Whatever Sasha Woodman did in the past, the loss of her memories and powers made her reform and left her shocked and confused about her past actions. This lends her an odd air of sympathy even before the scene where she ends up crying and begging on a Mad Scientist's dissection table.

@ Young Justice - New Characters

More al Ghul family members (Nyssa and her descendants, Dusan, Mara, Ra's's uncle, etc.) as either League of Shadows members or neutral characters.
  • Seasons 3 and 4 did a lot to explore Vandal Savage's family, season 5 could do the same for R'as.
