As more wormholes started appearing throughout Skylands, so did some that lead to entirely different worlds, bringing with them heroes (or villains), who accepted the invitations to become Skylanders and help in their missions against the forces of evil. Not those who are the forces of evil in their own worlds, of course.

Notable variants: Dark Turbo Charge Donkey Kong
Voiced by: Takashi Nagasako
Primary Attack: Primate Punch
Secondary Attack: Barrel Toss
Tertiary Attack: Bongo Barrel
Soul Gem Ability: Diddy You Call?

Donkey Kong is a fun-loving powerhouse gifted with great strength and incredible agility. His insatiable curiosity and easy-going attitude led him to explore the rift that appeared in his native jungle and brought him to exciting new adventures in this world called Skylands. Donkey Kong's fearlessness and reflexes made him a welcome addition to the SuperChargers and also the perfect driver for the stunt-tacular Barrel Blaster vehicle.

  • Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: For once averted as he wears a racing suit in addition to his famous tie.
  • Assist Character: His little buddy Diddy Kong rides in the side car of Barrel Blaster when ridden by Donkey Kong and helps out in some of his more powerful attacks.
  • Bamboo Technology: His Barrel Blaster, in keeping with his home series' design theme. Even including the various barrel types found within the Donkey Kong Country series.
  • Guest Fighter: He's from the Nintendo franchise of the same name. He is exclusive to only being playable on Wii U however, as well as SuperChargers Racing due to that game only being on Nintendo consoles.
  • Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: His Super Donkey Kong form has him shirtless and wearing yellow pants.
  • Heroic Mime: Only speaks in Kong roars and howls, which go untranslated in both the game and the comic.
  • Mythology Gag: Buzz compliments DK's drumming by calling it a Donkey Konga. He also introduces DK's specific quests by saying that it isn't like a go-kart race.
  • Starter Mon: He is included in the starter pack for the Wii U version of SuperChargers, replacing Spitfire. His Dark counterpart is included in the Dark Edition starter pack.
  • Throw a Barrel at It: DK's main attack is to throw barrels at his opponents. It's kind of his trademark.

    Bowser

Hammer Slam Bowser

Notable variants: Dark Hammer Slam Bowser
Voiced by: Kenny James
Primary Attack: Hammer Slam
Secondary Attack: Koopa Troopa!
Tertiary Attack: Molten Bowser
Soul Gem Ability: Molten Bones

Bowser is the king of the Koopas and believes himself to be the supreme, unquestioned ruler of a kingdom far from Skylands. A hot-tempered and spiky-shelled warrior, he was transported to Skylands by traveling through a rift that had been created by Kaos' terrible Sky Eater. The Skylanders sent out a distress call across all the dimensions to call for reinforcements, and for reasons known only to Bowser himself, he has decided to join this epic battle against Kaos and the Darkness in his Clown Cruiser as the newest and most lethal of all the SuperChargers!

  • Dem Bones: Turning into Molten Bowser will turn active Koopa Troopas into a different variant of Dry Bones called Molten Bones.
  • Enemy Mine: He's usually a villain, but has been known to team up with heroes against rival villains.
  • Guest Fighter: He's from Nintendo's flagship franchise. He is exclusive to only being playable on Wii U however, as well as SuperChargers Racing due to that game only being on Nintendo consoles.
  • Heroic Mime: Only speaks in his Kenny James roars in gameplay. Averted with the comic as he is able to speak properly.
  • Humongous-Headed Hammer: Hammer Slam Bowser uses a fire-infused spiked hammer as his primary weapon, and said hammer's head is about the size of his own head. While smashing this down, he's able to create shockwaves, and one upgrade path lets him slam it down hard to create fields of lava that burn enemies.
  • Magma Man: A Skylander-exclusive powerup, known as Molten Bowser. He also gains the ability to create pools of magma that deal lingering damage.
  • The Minion Master: His secondary attack is summoning Koopa Troopas to fight for him. They start out as green Koopa Troopas before being upgraded to red. Should he take the Koopa Commander upgrade path, they can eventually become red Paratroopas.
  • Mythology Gag: The "King of Awesome" moniker is brought up by Buzz in Bowser's character mission.
  • Starter Mon: He is included in the starter pack for SuperChargers Racing. His Dark counterpart is included in the Dark Edition starter pack.
  • Tin Tyrant: Bowser wears armor for the first time in this game.

Debuting in Imaginators

    Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crash_bandicoot_imaginators.jpg
Voiced by: Jess Harnell
Aku Aku voiced by: Greg Eagles
Primary Attack: Cyclone Spin
Secondary Attack: Super Slide
Tertiary Attack: Crate Going and Body Slam
Soul Gem Ability: Box O’ Rockets
Sky-Chi Ability: Oh No Yo-Yo Fo’ Show!

Crash Bandicoot appeared in Skylands through a wormhole to the Wumpa Islands, where the inhabitants were hosting a party and wanted to invite the Skylanders. But due to Kaos’ plotting, the Skylanders must prioritize that, and Crash Bandicoot is offering to help!

  • 1-Up: On the rare occasion, one of the boxes he throws can be a life box that adds one more life to his Auto-Revive.
  • Belly Flop Crushing: A staple of his moveset since Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. It can only be performed if the tertiary button is pressed after Crash has performed a jump.
  • Bowdlerise: Skylanders: Imaginators marks the first time Crash does a running man dance instead of a pelvic thrust as part of his victory dance. It stayed that way for N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled until Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time returned to the pelvic thrusts.
  • Crate Expectations: It wouldn't be Crash Bandicoot without a plethora of crates. Some contain extra lives only he can use, and some contain his jetpack and Fruit Bazooka.
  • Fragile Speedster: Holy moley, is he ever. Crash himself is one of the faster moving Senseis and his attacks are weak, but quick so he doesn't leave himself too open. But his HP is the smallest out of any Skylander throughout the series, having a base of 150 and a max total of 450 once he reaches level 20. This was likely made because he was designed with an Auto-Revive in mind as well as the ability to restore the amount of uses he has for it to prevent the system from being abused and allowing Crash to never be defeated.
  • Friendly Enemy: Seems to view Cortex this way at the end of the Thumpin' Wumpa Island level. The feeling's probably not mutual.
  • Guest Fighter: From another Activision-owned series. Unlike Donkey Kong and Bowser, his figure is compatible with all versions of Imaginators, and he plays a major role in the storyline of Imaginators whereas the former two were just special guests.
  • Happy Dance: As an Idle Animation, Crash will do his trademark dance.
  • Jetpack: The one from Cortex Strikes Back makes an appearance, which he uses along with the Fruit Bazooka from Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.
  • Killer Yo-Yo: In his Sky-Chi attack, he uses it to pull enemies towards him.
  • Mad Bomber: He can throw TNT crates, and combine them with his spin attack to create a whirlwind of explosives.
  • Mythology Gag: Similar to in his home series, he has unique death animations depending on what defeated him. Also, when he breaks open one of his crates, there's a chance it will include an extra life from one of his games.
    • His yo-yo attack is based on the opening cutscene of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, where he was seen playing with one. This was also his idle animation in the same game, and the yo-yo made another appearance in Crash Nitro Kart.
    • His appearance in this game might be one to the crossover games Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage and Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy.
    • Less debatable is the fact that, at the start of the "Thumpin' Wumpa Islands" expansion pack level, Aku Aku directly calls Spyro his friend, meaning these two already met.
    • In "Thumpin' Wumpa Islands", there is a mini-game that only Crash can enter that involves him running from a boulder in a tight corridor and trying to break as many crates as possible. Breaking all the crates gifts you the best reward.
    • Crash could die from anything in his platform games unless he had protection from Aku Aku. Out of every Skylander in the franchise, Crash has the lowest possible amount of health.
  • Slide Attack: Another attack introduced in his second game, serving as his secondary ability.
  • Spin Attack: His signature attack and his primary ability as a Skylander, known as the Cyclone Spin. To help tie in with his Life element, there are leaf effects that appear whenever he spins.
  • Starter Mon: He is included in the special Crash Bandicoot Edition starter pack for Imaginators.
  • The Unintelligible: Similar to Crash Tag Team Racing and beyond. Usually Aku Aku speaks on his behalf, but he does manage to say his name when played as a card in Creation Clash and says "Ta-da!" from time to time.
  • Video-Game Lives: One of his gimmicks as a Skylander to compensate for his abysmal health. Upgrading him will increase his maximum amount of lives to five.

    Dr. Neo Cortex

Dr. Neo Cortex

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dr_neo_cortex_imaginators.jpg
Voiced by: Lex Lang
Uka Uka voiced by: Alex Fernandez
Primary Attack: Blaster Beam
Secondary Attack: Mask The Pain
Tertiary Attack: What's Mine is Yours
Soul Gem Ability: Wanted: Dead or Up High
Sky-Chi Ability: Rehabilita-Laser

Dr. Neo Cortex appeared in Skylands through a wormhole to the Wumpa Islands, where the inhabitants were hosting a party and wanted to invite the Skylanders. After Cortex’s plan to harness the energy of the party went amiss, he teams up with his arch-nemesis to stop it…and also the Skylanders in their quest to stop Kaos.

  • Attack Reflector: With enough upgrades, he can summon Uka Uka to reflect projectiles back at enemies.
  • Death from Above: His Sky-Chi attack causes a rain of laser beams to fall in any spot of his choosing.
  • Guest Fighter: Same as Crash.
  • Hover Board: He has access to one. He can ride it around for a short time to attack enemies and get around more quickly, before it explodes and he ends up falling flat on his head.
  • Mad Bomber: He can toss out landmines, like in his boss fight in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.
  • Mad Scientist: Just like in his home series, he's an Evilutionary Biologist who's rather insane, seeking to Take Over the World and only serves the Skylanders for his own purposes.
  • Ray Gun: His primary method of attack is a handheld, Zeerust-inspired ray gun.
  • A Sinister Clue: Wields his Ray Gun in his left hand.
  • Starter Mon: He is included in the special Crash Bandiccot Edition starter pack for Imaginators.
  • Time Master: One upgrade allows him access to a device created by Dr. N. Tropy, which creates a bubble that slows down enemies.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Unlike the other villain Senseis, he's very much still evil. He's just helping for his own purposes.
"Let's get those Imaginators ready for total world domi- I mean, awesomely, heroic do-gooding, and stuff...."
  • Token Human: His yellow head skin and odd proportions might not look like it, but he's the only confirmed playable human. Compared to Aurora and Kaos being more Ambiguously Human.

    Kaos (Sensei)

Kaos (Sensei)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kaos_sensei_promo.jpg
"Behold, my catchphrase of DOOM!"
Primary Attack: Brain Bash
Secondary Attack: Psychic Shot
Tertiary Attack: Portal Practitioner
Soul Gem Ability: Doom Portal
Sky-Chi Ability: Fear My Giant Floating Head

No, this is not the same Kaos we know, but rather a clone created by him with Mind Magic, figuring that he would win easier with two Kaos. But the clone was just as obsessed with victory as his creator was, so he turned over to the Skylanders' side to defeat his master. He is the only Skylander of the Kaos element and Kaos class, and is a master in all battle classes.

  • Didn't Think This Through: Kaos failed to realize that he was so obsessed with victory that a clone would turn on him.
  • Enemy Mine: He works for the Skylanders, but only because he wants a shot at his creator's goal of domination over Skylands.
  • Flawed Prototype: This version of Kaos was one of the very first things the real Kaos created with Mind Magic, but it turned on him because he was too similar to the original. The enemies in the final level of Imaginators are all new Kaos Klones created by Kaos, all of which look nothing like him, but stay loyal to him, implying that Kaos, for once, learned from his mistakes in order to create what he was aiming for from the start.
  • The Minion Master: His tertiary attack is summoning a smaller version of the Knight Doomlander fought in the game to fight alongside him. Later upgrades allow him to have two of them at once, as well as make them bigger.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: His first two attacks involve creating weapons, either close-ranged or long-ranged, out of Mind Magic.
  • Token Evil Teammate: He didn't join the Skylanders because he wanted good to win over evil, he joined because he wanted to defeat his creator. Reflected in his quotes, where he acts like the normal Kaos just as a playable character (who's under different circumstances than the original Kaos in Trap Team).
"Greetings Poser Master. It is I, Kaos. And in a bizarre twist of fate, I will make all of your stupid Imaginators stronger than ever."
