"Even the faintest flicker of light brings out hope"
- Skylanders: Ring of Heroes

When Kaos destroyed the Core of Light, the two hidden elements Light and Dark vanished alongside their Skylanders, stranding them in their realms. They returned and revealed themselves to Skylands once again by the events of Trap Team, when Cloudcracker Prison got blown up.

Due to Light being seen as the best weapon to combat the Darkness with, it is a highly powerful element that both heroes and villains make use out of. Light Skylanders also have a strong sense of justice because of how polarized they are to the Darkness, and use light beams and attacks reminiscent of the stars to fight it with.

    In General
  • Light Is Good: As heroes associated with the Light element, this is a given.

Core Skylanders

    Spotlight

Spotlight

"Time to shine!"
Voiced by: Misty Lee
Primary Attack: Eye Beams
Secondary Attack: Halo Rings
Tertiary Attack: Heavenly Aura
Soul Gem Ability: Light Dragons
A mysterious dragon who manifested out of nowhere when Master Eon touched the Crystal Orb of Light. Believing she was sent to him for a reason, he took her in and trained her as a Skylander.
  • Combat Medic: She was a Support type Skylander in Ring of Heroes, both pre- and post-revamp, before the game closed down, with her “Heavenly Energy” attack not only damaging one enemy, but also recovering health for the team member with the lowest amount. Her passive ability also grants every ally a shield effect if one of them, with the exception of Spotlight, is knocked down. Everyone also gets increased defense if Spotlight is in the leader position.
  • Combos: Her secondary attacks are built to work with her eye lasers, either refracting them into a spin attack or getting stronger when shot with them.
  • Eye Beams: Her primary attack. Her other powers either work with or enhance them.
  • Genius Loci: It's implied that Spotlight is the Orb of Light.
  • Holy Hand Grenade: Her arsenal includes heavenly auras and weaponized halos.
  • Light Is Good: Definitely this, given she's a Skylander of the Light element.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: She's definitely a dragon, but her design, powers, and mysterious origin gives her a strong angelic vibe.
  • Shaping Your Attacks: Her soul gem upgrade turns her heavenly auras into animated light dragons.

Trap Master

    Knight Light

Knight Light

"See the light!"
Voiced by: Josh Keaton
Primary Attack: Traptanium Scimitar
Secondary Attack: Prismatic Pounce
Tertiary Attack: Light Up
Soul Gem Ability: Brilliant Blade
A protector of Radiant City, he fought the villain Luminous for control of the Starlight, Radiant City's magical power source, once the Light element was swept away from Skylands. Knight Light stood victorious in the end, and sealed Luminous within the Sunscraper Spire.
  • BFS: He wields a rather large Traptanium scimitar.
  • Combat Medic: He was a Support type Skylander in Ring of Heroes, both pre- and post-revamp, before the game closed down, and pretty much all of his abilities involve healing or supporting himself and his teammates, with the only exception to this being his first attack. His second, “Spectrum Attack”, in addition to damaging one enemy, also recovers the team member with the lowest health by the equivalent of 46% of Knight Light’s max HP. His third attack is called “Light!” and grants an ally the shield effect that’s equivalent to a fifth of their max HP, which lasts for two turns. “Light Will Protect You”, his non-leader passive ability, grants health regeneration for all allies and removes one weakening status effect each including Knight Light. This activates if he gets the effect that grants him immunity against weakening effects. And finally, if he is in the leader position, he increases all allies’ accuracy by 20%. In the original version, his "Prismatic Pounce" both damaged an enemy and recovered an ally who had the lowest HP HP in proportion to the character being healed's HP and his "Light Up" and "Destination" granted an ally HP Regen for four turns.
  • Light Is Good: A gallant, angelic knight who wields a giant Traptanium scimitar of the Light element, he most definitely qualifies for this trope.
  • The Paralyzer: Can create light auras to weaken enemies.
  • Punny Name: Aside from being "night light" with Xtreme Kool Letterz, he is a knight of the light element.
  • Weapon Across the Shoulder: Strikes this pose after a bit while idle.
  • Winged Humanoid: Looks like an angel with a helmet that resembles a bird's head.

    Astroblast

Astroblast

"Ready, set, glow!"
Notable variants: Legendary Astroblast
Voiced by: Neal McDonough
Primary Attack: Solar Flair
Secondary Attack: Asteroid Belt
Tertiary Attack: Starsault
Soul Gem Ability: Wool Encounters
A crystal creature who discovered a Rift Engine while exploring a troll camp. Astroblast fought back with his laser gun against the barrage of trolls that appeared before him after his discovery to keep the Engine from falling into the wrong hands.
  • The Ace: He's supremely self-assured, though his ego takes the form of an understated but utterly unshakable confidence and a bemused surprise if anyone expresses amazement at his success. This is in direct contrast to the usual brash and bombastic braggarts around him, namely Flynn.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: He was an Attack type Skylander in Ring of Heroes, both pre- and post-revamp, before the game closed down. A bit odd, since he already was a Combat Medic in the games, though only to Life Skylanders.
  • Combat Medic: If your companion happens to be of the Life Element, at any rate. Astroblast apparently emits pure sunlight that scorches foes and nourishes plants.
  • Death from Above: If Astroblast fires his gun into the air, get under something fast; he's calling a meteor strike directly on your head.
  • Energy Being: Well, if he isn't, he certainly glows like one. And gives off intense, damaging sunlight like one.
  • Energy Weapon: His weapon is a rather robust blaster pistol that, with upgrades, gains a Charged Attack and a burst fire function. Another, much larger beam cannon is mounted on the Sun Runner.
  • Expy: From his deservedly cocky attitude, to his startlingly powerful Ray Gun, to his pridefully boasting of his starship's achievements, he's a weird, glowy Han Solo.
  • The Gunslinger: Astroblast's combat style is built entirely around shooting foes at range, or knocking them back and stunning them so he can resume shooting them.
  • Hitscan: Literally. The secondary power of the Sun Runner is to sweep an area with its scanners and blast any enemies locked for minor damage. Not that useful on its own, but remembering locked targets suffer bonus damage from its main cannon...

The niece of Eon. She wanted to become a Skylander against her uncle’s wishes because he wanted to keep her safe. So Aurora wore a disguise to study Dual Wielding without her uncle interfering. When Eon found out about this, he once again refused to let her become a Skylander…because he was already promoting her to become a Sensei.
