The Bevier Family

    General
  • Big, Screwed-Up Family: That's putting it lightly.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Stella and Jean-Luc are far, FAR from ideal parents and heavily spoil Colette but even they have limits with her behavior since they have punished her for spending $12,000 on a Halloween costume, throwing a public tantrum over losing a beauty pageant, and meddling in Star and Danny's relationship. They're even considering sending her to boarding school or therapy to deal with her unhealthy fixation with Danny.
  • Heir Club for Men: Jean-Luc has mentioned that he hopes that Pierre will inherit the family business when he is older.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: Between the Bevier siblings, Pierre is the Nice due to being an innocent baby, Colette is the Mean due to being a Hate Sink elitist snob and Big Sister Bully, and Star is the In-Between before and after she Took a Level in Kindness since, unlike Colette, she actually possesses redeeming qualities and still has moments of selfishness even after she becomes a better person.
  • Parental Favoritism: Due to Colette's recent antics making her earn less favor with her parents, Pierre is quickly becoming the favorite child.
  • Practically Different Generations: Pierre is a baby, while Colette is old enough to go to high school.

    Stella Bevier

Star's estranged mother, an air-headed socialite who ran off with Jean-Luc when Star was 11. She and Star have a very complicated relationship, to say the least.
  • Action Mom: Not to the same extent as Maddie, but Stella is slowly evolving into this trope over the course of the fic series, becoming a capable markswoman who's not afraid to jump into the fray, especially when her kids are in danger.
  • Adults Are Useless: While she is not abusive towards Star and she doesn't mean to cause any trouble, she is far from being the perfect mother. She is guilty of initially being neglectful towards Star and favoring Colette and Pierre. Thankfully, she eventually reflects on her actions and starts to take a more active role as a mother towards Star.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Her father sometimes calls her "Sweet-pea" and Jean-Luc calls her "Mon Cheri".
  • All Girls Like Ponies: She has a pet horse named Pearl from her childhood that lives on her father's estate. She later arranges for Pearl to stay with her in Amity Park.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Stories from Dressed onwards imply she's falling for Johnathan again, having to remind herself that she's now married to Jean-Luc. It's thus hard for her to see Johnathan with Solene, especially since they seem much happier together compared to Stella's hollow life with the Beviers.
  • All Take and No Give: This was essentially the kind of relationship she had with Johnathan when they were married, and one of the reasons their marriage fell apart. Stella, even on her best days, was spoiled, careless, and hard to please, which negatively affected her family's life and her relationship with her first husband before they split.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Star is mortified by Stella's comments and pretending to be a French woman.
  • Amicable Exes: While tensions had been high between her and Johnathan for a long time, they have tried burying the hatchet and being more respectful to each other for Star's sake, especially in post-Bonding stories.
  • Antics-Enabling Wife: She initially does next to nothing about her husband and stepdaughter's antics and snobbery. Eventually though, it becomes subverted and she begins calling out and (in Colette's case) punishing them.
  • Anti-Role Model: Her ex-husband, daughter, the Fentons and her former mother-in-law have all called her out for being an irresponsible parent and setting terrible examples for Star. Even after her Character Development kicks in, she still has a ways to go.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Downplayed as she is more selfish and thoughtless than evil, but Stella is a woman who came from a wealthy, high-bred family and has no respect for the middle-class. It's also implied that her family is the same way, because according to her, she was raised to believe that her opinion mattered more than what "the commoners" believe.
  • Attention Whore: She seems to have shades of this at times.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Stella was shown to be a self-centered and neglectful parent who favored her new family, not caring about how her actions affected Star while spoiling her rotten. When Star disappeared, Stella was worried sick for her, but shows how selfish she truly is by refusing to take responsibility for her daughter going missing. Johnathan then reveals that he plans to terminate her visitation rights after having enough of her behavior. That and with Star still missing, causes Stella to realize just how serious this situation is, which shows that she really does love her daughter deep down and wishes Star was home safe.
  • Beauty Is Bad: Initially Played With and later subverted. She is stated to have aged well, and is initially portrayed as a Brainless Beauty who looked down on the lower classes and was a neglectful mother to Star. Thankfully, she tries to mend her ways after Star calls her out on her actions.
  • Became Their Own Antithesis: It's hinted that she used to be more free-spirited and rebellious when she was younger and resented her mother's influence on her, but grew up to be a shallow Rich Bitch socialite.
  • Beneath the Mask: When introduced, Stella seems to be just a snooty, ignorant Rich Bitch and a neglectful mother towards her biological daughter. However, we soon see that Stella did love her ex-husband before their marriage fell apart (and may not be as over him as she claims) and truly cares about Star, even if she's not the best at showing it. Over time, it becomes clear that Stella has A LOT of personal baggage that she's struggling to manage on her own, stemming from a Dark and Troubled Past not unlike Star's.
  • Betty and Veronica: She's the Veronica, Johnathan's wealthy ex-wife who is shown to still have a torch for him, to Solene's Betty for his Archie.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: She might still be a naive, ditzy womanchild, but "Bonding", "Visited", "Traveled" and "Barked" show that NO ONE messes with her children, and having taken a few levels of badass since her debut, she will fight back.
  • Bigot with a Crush: She looked down on lower classes in the beginning because her elitist Rich Bitch mother raised her that way, but that didn’t stop Stella from marrying the Self-Made lawyer Johnathan Strong or developing feelings for him again.
  • Blue Blood: According to her, she was born to one of New York's richest families, who came there all the way from France generations ago.
  • Blunt "No": She instantly turns down Chip Franco when he hits on her in “Traveled”.
  • Boomerang Bigot: She initially looked down on lower classes because of her snobby mother’s toxic influence while growing up, but Beatrice comes from an Impoverished Patrician family and Stella was married to a lawyer from a modest, middle-class background.
  • Brainless Beauty: She looks like a grown up version of her daughter, but is lacking her common sense.
    • The side story "Bonding" shows that she doesn't know how to drive and even asks her daughter if she has to use her hands to eat pizza. Granted, this is more due to her having done neither in many years.
    • In Dressed, Johnathan recalls Stella was never the sharpest person when she has trouble with the word "capricious".
  • Breaking the Cycle of Bad Parenting: After "Visited", she cuts ties with her mother Beatrice and vows to be a better mother to Star, not wanting to repeat her mother's mistakes.
  • Break the Haughty: When Star goes missing and Johnathan's threat to remove her visitation rights finally sets in, she realizes how selfish she was and wants Star back.
  • Broken Ace: She's a beautiful socialite from a wealthy family and a prestigious background. She is also an air-headed woman who is a former adulteress, neglects her first born child in favor of her step-family and sees nothing wrong with spoiling her children rotten and gets angry when people call her out on her actions.
  • Calling the Old Woman Out: Does this to her mother Beatrice in "Visited" after finally reaching the end of her rope with the old bat's cruel, selfish, and unloving behavior.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Stella has been falling in love with Johnathan again for some time but won’t admit it, especially to herself since she’s married to Jean-Luc and Johnathan is with Solene.
  • Canon Foreigner: Star's mother is never acknowledged in the series.
  • Character Development: She begins growing into a more caring, considerate woman over the course of the series and lets go of her selfish, elitist, and narrow-minded ways. This is most prominent in "Traveled" where Stella personally tracks down the Fentons to give them vital information about the Forces of Nature, and later goes out of her way to help find a kidnapped Jazz. She even acknowledges that her former mother-in-law, Joy, has good reason to hold a grudge against her over how she left Johnathan and Star, contrasting how Stella would previously try to justify or disregard her harmful actions.
  • Cheater Gets Cheated On: She left her first husband for Jean-Luc... who's taken Yolanda as his mistress ever since they moved to Amity Park. It's heavily implied Yolanda isn't the first woman he's cheated on Stella with, just the first named one.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: It's hinted that Stella used to get quite jealous when Johnathan was around other women when they were married. Defied in the story, however, as while Stella was a little jealous when she heard that Johnathan had a new girlfriend, Solene, she understood he needed to move on and believed he still deserved to be happy, harboring no resentment towards the couple. However, after seeing Spectra and Johnathan's high school classmate, Heather, hit on him, Stella snapped at them despite that she and Johnathan are divorced.
  • Closer to Earth: She, ironically, seems to be the most levelheaded member of the Bevier household.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: She may be a ditz, but Stella is usually the one trying to reign in Colette when her behavior gets out of control.
  • Control Freak: She is not as bad as her mother or stepdaughter, but Stella does get very frustrated and whiny when things don't go her way.
  • Cowardly Lion: In “Visited”, Stella is initially too scared of her overbearing mother Beatrice to stand up to her but still refuses to go along with her unreasonable demands, like setting up an Arranged Marriage between Star and Donovan Loadman or letting her take Star back New York just to groom her into Beatrice's idea of a “Proper Lady”. At first, Stella tries to save Star and Danny’s relationship by turning Danny into an upper-class gentleman that impresses Beatrice enough to approve of him. The “cowardly” part is subverted in the end when Stella finally reaches her limit with Beatrice’s callous attitude after realizing she doesn’t care about Star when she still orders her granddaughter to go out with Donovan after the Loadman brat hits her and and shows no concern for her granddaughter's wellbeing even after their experience with the ghost bat. Stella slaps Beatrice twice, calls her out on not deserving to be a parent or grandparent, and gets a restraining order against her mother to permanently kick her out of Star’s life.
  • Daddy's Girl: "Visited" shows that she is MUCH closer to her father Richard than her mother Beatrice.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates:
    • Her mother never approved of Johnathan to say the least.
    • Her father is revealed to despise Jean-Luc, though unlike Beatrice, he chooses not to interfere with Stella's marriage.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Not as much as her daughter or her ex, but she has her moments.
  • Dead Sparks: She claims that this is the main reason her marriage to Johnathan fell apart.
  • Disneyland Dad: Gender-Inverted. Star mentions in "Lost" that while her parents are divorced, her mother still sends her a lot of expensive gifts and money year-round, and that she makes multiple trips a year to see her daughter in order to "spend time with her".
  • Disowned Parent: She is utterly terrified of the thought of becoming one of these, and tries hard to reconnect with Star and avoid this fate.
  • The Ditz: She can be rather air-headed and naive.
  • Doesn't Know Their Own Child: Stella doesn't know much about her own daughter outside of what's on the surface, though she works to change this later on.
  • Doting Parent: She loves spoiling her children very much.
  • Dude Magnet: She’s drawn the attention of Johnathan, Jean-Luc, Chip Franco, and Power Surge.
  • Dumb Blonde: She has blonde hair and is a naive Brainless Beauty.
  • Emasculated Cuckold: Averted. A number of characters point out that Jean-Luc Bevier is a womanizer and that not has changed, with him flirting with numerous other women despite being married. Still, it appears that this has not strained Stella's marriage with him. Even when a friend of hers pointed out that Jean-Luc had hit on other women at the country club, Stella's response was awkward rather than shocked/angry. It is unknown whether she is in denial of Jean-Luc's cheating or if they have an open marriage.
  • Entitled Bitch: Justified. Stella was raised in a wealthy family who taught her that her opinion matters more than what "the commoners" believe and also to be mindful of her status. It's implied that this is the reason she always puts herself first and usually doesn't care how her words and actions affect others, all the while, still fully expecting them to fulfill her whims and reacting in shock and anger when she doesn't get her way. To her credit, once Stella realizes that her actions have consequences (such as when she hurt her relationship with her daughter), she works very hard to make amends, showing that she is not irredeemable.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • When she finds Colette in action of doing something wrong, Stella doesn't hesitate to punish her.
    • She's not that fond of the Mansons, seeing as them being so annoying and desperate to get into the Golden Guild.
    • Stella tries to show kindness to Paulina for being Star's former friend and Colette's new friend, but even she's exasperated by her obsession with Danny Phantom. In the story "Visited", Stella tells Star that Paulina was uninvited to her funeral, admitting that the more time she spends with the latter, the more she hates her. This implies that Stella realized how horrible Paulina is and why Star ended their friendship.
    • While she often tries to defend her stepdaughter and give her the benefit of the doubt, even Stella acknowledges that Colette is not responsible enough to be trusted to watch her baby half-brother Pierre, and prefers Star to do so instead.
    • Stella usually downplays and tries to justify her mother Beatrice's behavior. However, she was unhappy to learn that her mother planned to pair Star up with a boy without even discussing it with her (one that Star HATES to boot). Stella was especially upset to learn of Beatrice's plan to take Star back to New York to mold her into a Proper Lady. It's also heavily implied that deep down, Stella knows that her mother is a terrible parent but since Beatrice raised her daughter to always obey her, Stella has a hard time standing up to her.
    • Stella may be a materialistic and shallow woman (though, to be fair, she's been working on her flaws and becoming a more mature and open-minded person since her debut) who loves shopping and would often spoil her children rotten. She also tends to encourage them to get whatever they want and rarely disciplines them. However, Stella was outraged when she learned that her stepdaughter, Colette, went behind her back and spent over $12,000 on a Halloween costume. Even she admits that's too much money to use at once, especially without asking for permission, more so since it was a costume that Colette only bought to show off. As punishment, Stella made Colette use her shopping allowance to pay off the costume, especially since they could not return it due to Colette vomiting over it the previous night. "Golden" further reveals she and Jean-Luc temporarily cut Colette off.
    • She never liked Dash because of his rude and obnoxious attitude, as well as being a bad friend to Star.
  • Extreme Doormat: Justified. Stella has a hard time standing up to her mother and would always defend Beatrice's abysmal actions, insisting that she means well deep down. Even when her mother does something Stella knows is wrong, she still has a hard time objecting it to it. As Stella explains, it's not that she agrees with her mother, it's that she can't disagree; she was basically conditioned to always obey Beatrice, and is always afraid of disappointing her.
  • Fake Brit: More like Fake Frenchperson.
  • Fatal Flaw:
    • Naiveté. Stella honestly doesn't grasp that her views or those of her family are actually very toxic and the world doesn't work the way she thinks it does. A lot of the strife between her and Star comes down to Stella not recognizing how harmful her way of thinking is to her daughter and how much grief it causes for Star. It takes nearly getting cut out of Star's life for good for her to start growing past this and even then, she makes several well-intentioned mistakes because she isn't always aware of how she comes across to people.
    • Impulsivity. Stella has a bad habit of making decisions without a second thought if she thinks they'll benefit her. Notably, after her marriage with Johnathan became strained, she ran off with Jean-Luc despite barely knowing him at the time and didn't consider how such a shortsighted, even cruel choice would affect her or her family. While Stella is now trying to make up for it, she struggles with the many consequences of her impulsiveness: reconnecting with her daughter while being painfully aware it will take a long time for Star to fully let her back into her life, the harsh truth that some people (e.g. Johnathan's parents) will never forgive her, increasing tensions between her and the Beviers as she's faced with the downsides of living with Jean-Luc and Colette, and unresolved feelings for the man she left behind as Johnathan is moving on. Stella herself comes to realize that she shouldn't have acted so thoughtlessly and hurt a lot of people. She also tends to say or do the wrong thing even when she's trying to be polite or endear herself to others, not realizing how they'll react until confronted with it.
    • Denial. Stella always struggles to see the truth about her circumstances, especially regarding her family, outside of her heavily rose-tinted glasses. Even when she can no longer easily ignore Jean-Luc being an unfaithful Serial Homewrecker and Colette an increasingly sociopathic Alpha Bitch, she tries to remain content with playing the happy wife and mother instead of actively addressing her family's dysfunction; she naively believes that continuing to shower her second family with love and understanding will fix things so she won't have to own up to her own poor decision-making in hurting her first family to run off with Jean-Luc for a life that isn't picture-perfect, refusing to understand she's only delaying the inevitable before her carefully constructed facade falls apart. Played for tragedy with her controlling mother's negative influence on her, which also led to Stella denying for decades that Beatrice never meant well for her family and is just a cruel matriarch who abused and stifled Stella from a young age to be her version of the ideal woman. She only wises up after her mother sets her sights on Star and plans to do even worse to her.
  • Female Misogynist: Stella holds Maddie's fighting skills against her because it's unladylike. However, she seems to have shedded this view later on, as Stella joins the Fentons in fending off a country club ghost attack in "Visited" and tells off her mother when Beatrice also claims her daughter is being unladylike.
  • Feminine Mother, Tomboyish Daughter: Downplayed. While Star is a very feminine cheerleader and dancer, she also has some tomboyish interests and traits which Stella lacks.
  • Forgiven, but Not Forgotten: Star greatly resents Stella for leaving her father and marrying an awful man like Jean-Luc, which resulted in her getting a nasty stepsister, Colette. In "Lost," after thinking Danny left because of her mother's insensitive comments, Star reached her breaking point and finally called Stella out. She confronts Stella over her vapid attitude and actions, such as leaving a loving family for a womanizer and his spoiled brat daughter, and not fulfilling her role as a parent. When Stella tries to defend herself and orders Star to apologize, Star then admits she hates her mother and leaves. While being lost in the ghost zone with Danny, Star remembers her childhood and the pain she felt when her mother left, and how Stella's corrupting influence made Star insecure enough to have toxic friends, making her want to cut her mother out of her life. At the same time, Star also recalls when Stella was once a good mother and after seeing her genuinely heartbroken over her disappearance, even apologizing to her and Danny, she agrees to give Stella another chance, even convincing her father not to terminate her mother's visitation rights. However, Star points out that she can't just forget the years of abandonment and insensitivity. In "Stuck," she later admits to Sam that it will be a long time before she completely forgives her mother for what she has done. Nonetheless, Stella is really taking steps to be a better mother and person; she has stopped favoring Colette and started bonding more with Star, supporting her relationship with Danny. While Stella made mistakes, she has learned from them, and Star does appreciate that her mother is trying to be better, thus implying their relationship will mend with time.
  • Foil:
    • To her ex-husband Johnathan. Both are Star's parents who love her very much and spoil her even if they aren't always around, and their relationship with her affected their daughter's emotional wellbeing in different ways. Stella was a Rich Bitch guilty of neglecting Star and favoring her stepsister due to being swept up in her new life in France after divorcing Johnathan, which resulted in Star becoming a mean girl in the first place. Johnathan, while busy with his job as a high-powered lawyer, has a healthier relationship with Star and is much closer to her and not afraid to set limits, making him one of the positive influences in her life before she met Danny.
    • To Solene. Both are beautiful women who are/were romantically involved with Johnathan and had a complicated relationship with Star. Stella is Johnathan's ex-wife who was a Dumb Blonde socialite that left him for Jean-Luc, only to still have some feelings for him. Solene is his new girlfriend who is a Brainy Brunette attorney that seems to have a more grounded and serious relationship with him. Star used to have a close, loving relationship with Stella until her mother left her and her father, and this distance strained things between them until Star finally called her out. Since then, Stella has been working to mend fences but occasionally struggles to connect with her daughter. Meanwhile, Star started out hostile and suspicious towards Solene due to her bad experiences with her stepfamily (and hoping her parents would remarry) until realizing she made a mistake by alienating her. Afterwards, Star made amends with Solene and they agreed to start over, and soon bonded over their common interests like art.
  • Former Teen Rebel: Visited has her all but confirm that she was one of these.
  • Freudian Excuse: It is hinted that Stella's stuck-up attitude is due to her own upbringing which caused her to place top importance on her privilege. "Visited" definitively proves this to be the case, but it's revealed to be even worse than previously implied—her mother Beatrice was extremely controlling and emotionally & psychologically abusive, moulding Stella to conform to her harsh expectations from an early age, while her father Richard was more loving, but too submissive towards his wife and busy with work to have a real influence on her. The often unloving parenting Stella was subjected to warped her self-esteem to the point she still struggles to please her mother as an adult, which strained many of her relationships.
  • Freudian Slip:
    • When Spectra and Heather St. Cloud express interest in Johnathan in Dressed and Traveled, respectively, Stella angrily tells them that he's taken, at the same time as Solene. She then has to awkwardly clarify that she's Johnathan's ex-wife and he's actually taken by Solene, his girlfriend.
    • Stella rejects Chip Franco and Sergio's advances by mentioning her husband but nearly says Johnathan's name instead of Jean-Luc's, which confuses and aggravates her.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Stella isn't very well-liked by Danny's parents, which is justified, given that they had met while their kids were missing during Lost and everyone assumed that their disappearance was due to Stella badmouthing Danny and arguing with Star over it. This, as well as Stella's thoughtlessness/lack of responsibility, causes them to dislike her. Even after Stella apologizes to Danny, the Fentons don't forgive her and make it clear that they only associate with her due to her daughter being Danny's girlfriend.
    • It is more prominent during Bonding, where Maddie and Jack barely hide their dislike of Stella and seem to bond more with Johnathan. When Stella and Johnathan start arguing, both Jack and Maddie take Johnathan's side and admit how they really feel about her and her past actions. However, after Stella risks her life to save Star during a ghost attack, they acknowledge what she did and let bygones be bygones. By Sick, the Fentons and Stella are much more civil with each other.
  • The Gentleman or the Scoundrel: Deconstructed. Stella left the hardworking Nice Guy Johnathan Strong (gentleman) for the snobby and pompous French Jerk Jean-Luc Bevier (scoundrel) because of his fake charm and their similarities as wealthy aristocrats. However, it's increasingly clear overtime that she's unhappy in her second marriage, especially as she becomes more aware of Jean-Luc's flaws and suspects him of cheating on her, and still has some feelings for Johnathan.
  • Gold Digger: She is accused of being one by her ex-mother-in-law, Joy Strong.
  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: Stella has an extremely hard time accepting that the people she knows are utterly loathsome since she is convinced (or just wants to believe) that the Beviers are good people deep down and cannot understand why everyone hates them, even when Star and her own father Richard call her out on delusionally ignoring Jean-Luc and Colette's callous, stuck-up attitudes. It’s especially prominent in “Visited” when her elitist Rich Bitch mother Beatrice comes to town to try to force Star into an unwanted Arranged Marriage with her most repugnant Abhorrent Admirer, Donovan Loadman, just because he’s a Blue Blood. Stella, as usual, stubbornly refuses to believe everyone’s warnings about her mother being an irredeemable bitch as she deludes herself that Beatrice has good intentions deep down and can be reasoned with into accepting Star’s relationship with Danny, completely ignoring that Beatrice blatantly doesn’t care about Star’s feelings, happiness, or opinion. It’s not until Beatrice orders Star to dump Danny and go out with Donovan despite him forcefully kissing then hitting her that it finally clicks in Stella that her mother doesn’t care about anything but her own advancement in high society, and gets restraining orders against Beatrice and Toadman to protect Star from them.
  • Good Stepmother: What she tries to be towards Colette, with mixed results.
  • Grew a Spine: She was an Extreme Doormat to her controlling and emotionally abusive mother, but eventually manages to stand up to Beatrice and cut her out of her life for good.
  • Happy Marriage Charade: It soon becomes apparent that Stella is clinging to a facade of a marriage as she begins spending less quality time with Jean-Luc and even butting heads with him, but refuses to acknowledge it.
  • Hard Truth Aesop: She learns the hard way that just because she is remorseful of her past actions, it doesn't guarantee that she will be given forgiveness.
  • Hated by All: She's not well-liked by the Fentons or the family she abandoned and it takes a while for it to finally affect her. However, she manages to develop more civil relationships with her ex, daughter, and the Fentons in post-Bonding stories.
  • Hates Their Parent: By the end of "Visited", Stella tells her mother Beatrice that she hates her and finally cuts the latter out of her life.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • It's later revealed that despite always being self-centered, Stella did truly love Johnathan when she married him. Also, she still loves her daughter and it's shown that in Star's early childhood, she was not always a bad mother to her.
    • Dressed heavily implies that Stella is more observant and self-aware than she seems and secretly isn't as happy as she presents herself, wishing she wasn't so spoiled. When Danny and Johnathan try to comfort her over what Star said to her, Stella grimly tells herself that she did something foolish and did not consider the consequences.
      • When her ex-husband tries to cheer her up after Star's outburst by pointing out that she is trying to make up for her mistakes, Stella realizes to herself that she forgot how mature Johnathan is and is genuinely touched by his words. This hints that she misses Johnathan deep down but is in denial, acting confused because she is supposed to be happy with Jean-Luc and their family.
      • Spectra reveals to Team Phantom that Stella is secretly miserable and might regret her life choices. She states that even Stella isn't sure if Jean-Luc is cheating on her or not, and possibly knows that her stepdaughter does not truly love her and only uses her.
    • Traveled reveals more of Stella's past:
      • She wanted to join a girl's soccer team as a child.
      • She took figure skating when she was young and even won a competition at one point.
      • She was homecoming queen in high school.
      • She has a soft spot for horses, having an old horse named Pearl on her father's estate that she is still very fond of.
    • "Traveled" also reveals she has recently taken up skeet shooting in order to improve her aim from "Visited", and admits that she finds it relaxing.
  • Hidden Disdain Reveal:
    • Prior to her thinking she might not survive standing up to her mother, Stella tells Star that Paulina is not welcomed at her funeral, admitting that the more she spends time with Paulina, the more she's beginning to hate her. This was in contrast to the beginning of the series, where Stella believed Paulina was a close friend to her daughter Star and was disappointed that it was no longer the case. This implies that Stella now understands how horrible Paulina is and why Star ended their friendship.
    • In "Blackmailed", Stella admits to everyone that she never liked Dash Baxter and wouldn't be surprised if he was behind framing Team Phantom.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: She is completely unaware (or refuses to see) that her second husband and stepdaughter are terrible people and is always quick to defend them. This lessens as the series progresses, though she's still reluctant to speak badly of them.
  • Housewife: While she may be a socialite, she seems the one who is primarily taking care of Pierre and disciplining Colette when her actions go too far.
  • Humble Parent, Spoiled Kids: Subverted with Star and Pierre but played straight with her stepdaughter Colette, who is FAR more spoiled, entitled, and immature than Stella could ever hope to be.
  • Idle Rich: She lives extravagantly thanks to her family's generational wealth, and doesn't have any job or commitments other than taking care of her kids and mingling with the elite.
  • I Hate Past Me: As part of her Character Development, Stella is very ashamed of her past behavior.
    • In "Visited", she is grateful to Danny for standing by Star throughout the ordeal of Beatrice's visit and expresses regret for having acted so snobbish towards him at their first meeting just because of his social class, not unlike her mother.
    • Stella openly admits by "Traveled" that even if things weren't working out between her and Johnathan, she should've found a way to maturely handle it instead of impulsively cheating on and abandoning him.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Stella doesn't seem to comprehend when her comments come off as rude or insulting to people she talks to or about.
  • In the Blood: According to Johnathan, Stella's mother (and possibly the rest of her family) is just as arrogant and spoiled as she is.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Stella is certainly a Rich Bitch and still has trouble letting go of her vices after her Character Development but loves her daughter dearly and is trying to be better, even if she still makes some well-intentioned errors.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • While it doesn't justify her actions when Stella notes that their marriage had lost its spark, Johnathan doesn't try to argue and she does make a point that trying to stick it out for Star's sake until their daughter left home wouldn't have been all that much better for any of them.
    • While she is trying to rule out Colette as a suspect due to her personal bias, Stella also isn't wrong for suspecting Dash Baxter as the one who framed Team Phantom instead on account of him being an obnoxious jerk and a horrible influence on Star.
  • Jerkass Realization: After Star goes missing and Stella is threatened with having her visitation rights revoked by Johnathan, she is forced to accept her fault in driving Star away due to her selfishness and wants her daughter back home safe.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: She cheated on Johnathan with Jean-Luc and favored Colette over Star for years, believing them to be the ideally affluent and sophisticated family she was meant to have. In "Lost", she's nearly cut out of Star's life for good after a long-buried argument indirectly causes the latter to go missing and is left heartbroken at the thought of losing her daughter. She also begins having doubts on whether leaving her first family for the Beviers was truly worth it as her marriage to Jean-Luc not only grows distant, but he has been cheating on her with Yolanda ever since they got to Amity Park (and likely other women well before), and she's forced to see Colette's awful behavior and disregard for her stepmother.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: She is this to her second husband, Jean-Luc, and step-daughter, Colette.
    • When Stella first appeared, she acted like a ditzy, materialistic, selfish, and thoughtless woman with no respect for the middle-class and looked down on those she deemed beneath her. She also neglected her daughter, Star, and favored her new family, who are just as selfish as her. She dismissed Danny upon meeting him, believing that he is not good enough for her daughter, and made rude comments about him behind his back with Jean-Luc. Once Star angrily called them out, Stella refused to take her words back, making her storm off. Despite this, Stella actually seemed uneasy during their argument and was saddened when her daughter said she hated her, while Jean-Luc and Colette remained unrepentant.
    • When Star disappeared, Stella was sincerely worried for her, yet refused to take responsibility for her role in what happened, going as far as to say she sacrificed her figure to give birth to Star. However, when Johnathan also calls her out for being a lousy parent to their daughter and angrily tells Stella that he plans to terminate her visitation rights, she finally realizes the seriousness of the situation and that her actions have consequences, beginning to feel ashamed of everything she had done. When Johnathan pointed out how apathetic Jean-Luc and Colette were about Star's disappearance, Stella insisted they were handling it differently, but her response was awkward and implied that she was uncomfortable with their indifference.
    • By the end of her debut story, Stella sincerely apologized to both her daughter and Danny and even moved back to Amity Park to be closer to Star and repair their relationship, showing that she does love her daughter and feels remorse for how she acted. Stella is capable of seeing the error of her ways and becoming a better person, unlike her husband and step-daughter who both refuse to admit their own faults. Future fic segments show her Character Development, as Stella is making a real effort to be a more thoughtful and attentive parent, which soon causes her to clash with Jean-Luc and especially Colette.
  • Like Parent, Like Child: One thing she has in common with her Nice Guy father Richard is that neither of them will let anyone, including Beatrice, get away with hurting Star to the point she takes out a restraining order against her abusive mother just to keep her family away from the Rich Bitch’s toxic influence.
  • Like Mother, Like Daughter: Initially played straight and later averted. Originally, Star was just as rude, shallow and insensitive as Stella and looked down on those of lower status. However, thanks to Star's Character Development and and her growing friendship/interest in Danny, she becomes a much kinder person.
    • However, Stella has her own Character Development after her debut story and while she is still rather ditzy and materialistic, she does make an effort to be a better mother for her daughter.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: In "Traveled", she reflects that growing up, she only socialized with people who met her mother's standards but never liked any of them. Besides her pet horse Pearl, Eleanor was the only genuine friend Stella had.
  • Love at First Sight: She reveals in "Visited" that she and Johnathan met at a college party and almost instantly hit it off.
  • Loving a Shadow: She's easily swayed by Jean-Luc's charms, thinking him the perfect man for her to the point of leaving her family. She fails to recognize his charm is nothing more than an act to seduce women. Meanwhile, it's clear to everyone that there's no real love between Stella and Jean-Luc, just an attraction that's starting to fade.
  • Love Makes You Dumb: Star accuses Stella of inheriting this from her father Richard in “Blackmailed” since they both have blindspots when it comes to their family members (Beatrice for Richard and Colette and Jean-Luc for Stella) because of an inability or refusal to accept that they're bad people.
  • Mama Bear: It takes time, but she finally takes a more active role as a mother for Star when her daughter's life is in danger. She is also shown to be very protective of Pierre and freaks out if something happens to him.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: She finally loses her patience with Beatrice after the latter pushes her too far with her callous behavior towards Stella and Star, and finally gains the courage to call her mother out and cut her out of her life for good.
  • Morality Pet: It's implied that she may be this to Jean-Luc, who at the very least, doesn't argue against her in regards to disciplining Colette.
  • Mr. Vice Guy: At the start of the series, Stella is a shallow and thoughtless upper-class woman Who cares only about the good life of her wealthy lifestyle and has no respect for the middle class. She's also guilty of being neglectful of her daughter, showing her with expensive gifts while she focuses on her lifestyle and looks down on her daughter's boyfriend because he's middle class. Eventually, Stella realizes how harmful she is to her daughter and starts working on being a better mother. While Stella does improve both as a person and mother, she builds a better bond with her daughter and accepts her boyfriend to the point where she generally bonds with him. However, she is still a little materialistic and shallow and still loves the rich life, but at the same time, she's more thoughtful and empathetic, and she's working on being a better person, and right now while she can be a snob she can be a genuinely good person and uses her wealth to help her daughter and her friends.
  • My Beloved Smother: Although Stella is trying to do right by helping Star, she can go a bit overboard and come across as too clingy.
  • Never My Fault: She initially has trouble accepting responsibility for her actions. Thankfully, she slowly outgrows this mindset.
  • No Accounting for Taste: Star questions how her parents, a workaholic lawyer and a snobby socialite, ever fell in love with each other in the first place.
    • However, flashbacks in Lost show Johnathan and Stella's past relationship and reveal that they both genuinely loved each other when they were first married and were happy together. Unfortunately, their different values and upbringings eventually caused them to drift apart. Johnathan acknowledges that he was so in love with Stella that he was blinded to her flaws, like her snobbery. On the other hand, Stella was in love with Johnathan when he was a young man just starting his career, and she did love the family they made together, but over the years, they lost their spark. Stella admits to herself that she is still unsure if she grew bored with him or felt neglected because of his work schedule, but she eventually felt that their relationship couldn't be saved.
    • There is also Stella's marriage to Jean-Luc, a snobbish man who has no problem hitting on other women. Stella does explain that she fell for Jean-Luc based on his good looks, sophistication and the fact that he came from Old Money like her, while her relationship with Johnathan was dead by the time she met him. It seems that Stella is/was attracted to Jean-Luc because they had more things in common, and she seems content with their marriage, though is either unaware or in denial of his womanizing ways.
  • Nobody Touches the Hair: She was really angry when her hair got ruined in Traveled and became more eager to fight the Forces of Nature in anger because of it.
  • Not Afraid of You Anymore: Near the end of "Visited", Stella is fed up with Beatrice and finally stands up to her, slapping her mother and calling her out for being a horrible parent and grandparent, before finally forcing Beatrice out of her life for good.
  • Not So Above It All:
    • She may try to act sophisticated and believes that fighting is unladylike, but by the time of "Visited", she not only joins in the ghost fight but gets really into it.
    • She also seems to truly enjoy taking part in middle-class activities when her husband and stepdaughter aren't around.
  • Obnoxious Entitled Housewife: She was very demanding and selfish when she was married to Johnathan.
  • Only Sane by Comparison: She can be snobby and ditzy, but she is considered much more levelheaded and open-minded compared to her second husband and stepdaughter.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • In Dressed, she's so concerned over her relationship with Star after her daughter's outburst towards her that she briefly forgets Colette is competing in the pageant too.
    • A huge one in Visited. After spending most of the fic trying to appease her mother and having previously never so much as raised her voice at her, Stella finally has enough. She SLAPS Beatrice twice, gives her an epic "Reason You Suck" Speech, snaps at Jean-Luc when he tries to step in, and severs all ties with her mother. Everyone watching is left absolutely stunned (and proud) while Jean-Luc and Colette are actually scared of Stella for the first time in their lives.
  • Opposites Attract Revenge: Stella has been married to both Johnathan Strong and Jean-Luc Bevier at one point. Johnathan is a hardworking, law-abiding man who came from a middle-class family but became a very high-ranking lawyer while Jean-Luc is a pompous, womanizing owner of a vineyard who inherited all of his wealth.
  • Parental Favoritism: Stella seems guilty of preferring Colette over Star, which makes it even more tragic since Star is her biological child. Thankfully, it's subverted later on, as she becomes more aware of Colette's cruel deeds and begins punishing her accordingly. Stella also makes an effort to repair her relationship with Star.
  • Parental Neglect: Stella is so engrossed with the rich lifestyle Jean-Luc lives that she barely has any time for Star. Whenever she did spend time with her daughter, it was always at Stella's own convenience and she emotionally neglected Star by not making a real effort to connect with her, having a superficial understanding of her life, and paying little attention to her feelings while showing blatant favoritism toward Colette. Star even calls her mother out on not coming to see or even check in on her when it really mattered over the years (including when she was stranded on Specter Island). Stella also prefers to spoil her children rotten rather than actually parent them, which helped turn Star into a Beta Bitch and only contributed to Colette's Spoiled Brat nature. She thankfully improves in post-Lost stories once she gets a wake-up call, trying hard to be a more involved and reliable mother in Star's life. She also tries to be a reasonable disciplinarian towards Colette, though with little success since the damage has long been done.
  • Parental Obliviousness:
    • She didn't know about her biological daughter’s history of being a Beta Bitch due to her influence until Star revealed this to her parents in "Lost".
    • She's been completely ignorant that Colette has been bullying Star for years due to falling for her stepdaughter's lies. Even after Stella begins wising up, she still doesn’t know the full extent of Colette's mistreatment of others, especially Team Phantom.
  • Parents as People: Stella genuinely loves her children, but her thoughtlessness and insensitivity as a Rich Bitch make her far from the ideal parent, causing her to neglect and clash with Star, while favoring and letting Colette get away with everything under the sun. However, this is less out of intentional maliciousness and more because it's just what she's been taught and is all she knows; later stories reveal that Stella had a less than ideal upbringing herself with an abusive, controlling mother and a caring but often absent father. Being raised with no role models on healthy relationships or family dynamics, combined with little understanding of the world beyond her privilege, left Stella impulsive, flighty, and immature, which played a large part in her parenting blunders. Thankfully, she changes her ways for the better after Star calls her out, growing into a more understanding and supportive mother by connecting with Star over her true self rather than who Stella thinks she is/should be. Her efforts to reconcile with Star also lead to Stella finally tackling and resolving her own deep-seated issues from her past, as she vows not to let her ignorance or family dysfunction hurt her daughter again.
  • Pet the Dog: Post-Lost stories show that Stella is making an effort to fix her relationship with Star and be nicer to Danny and Johnathan.
    • In Bonding, she invites the Fenton family to the country club to have dinner with her, Star and Johnathan in an effort to "help" Danny and Star's relationship.
    • In Sick, she (like Johnathan) got Danny a birthday present.
    • In Unprepared, after hearing that Star offended her father's girlfriend, Solene, and wishes to make amends, Stella agrees to help her daughter, showing that she is supportive of Johnathan dating again. Also, upon meeting Solene, Stella makes a sincere effort to list Johnathan's good points to her, admitting that she hurt him and now wants him to be happy.
    • In Boxed, she gifted Johnathan a green jacket (his favorite color) for his birthday.
    • In "Dressed", Stella goes out of her way to help Star prepare for the beauty pageant, supporting her all the way. Sure, she goes overboard, but it’s a nice gesture.
    • In “Visited”, Stella proves that she ultimately loves Star more than she fears her domineering, emotionally abusive mother Beatrice since she not only refuses to let her mother force Star into an abusive relationship with her Abhorrent Admirer, the violent Spoiled Brat Donovan Loadman, but gets restraining orders against both of them to protect Star.
    • Despite permanently cutting Beatrice out of her life, she is fine with her father Richard visiting whenever he wants.
    • In “Staged”, Stella defends Danny when Claire Morgan gets mad at him for punching her son Chris and convinces her to go easy on him.
    • In "Blackmailed", she goes out of her way to help her daughter and Team Phantom clear their names when they're framed of various crimes by using all her legal connections.
  • Politically Incorrect Hero: While Stella doesn’t mean any harm, she has some old-fashioned views on gender norms since she looks down on Maddie’s fighting prowess and considers it to be unfeminine. Subverted as she gets over it and even takes up shooting lessons herself to protect her loved ones from danger, having become willing to confront ghosts. Interestingly, "Traveled" suggests Stella was more outdoorsy and athletic in her youth until her mother stifled it, indicating her former views were enforced rather than something she genuinely believed in.
  • Post-Support Regret: Stella Bevier comes to regret supporting her mother, Beatrice, by the end of the story.
    • To be clear, Beatrice is a Rich Bitch and a major Control Freak who looks down on the non-upper class people and mistreats anyone she deems "beneath" her. Stella acts like an Extreme Doormat around her, to the point where it's revealed that during her marriage to Johnathan, Stella always tried to excuse and defend her mother's behavior. Leaving Johnathan (who, despite being a successful and wealthy lawyer, was born middle-class) to be looked down on by Beatrice and leaving him to deal with the brunt of her insults and abuse since she considered him a "peasant" due to not being from an old money family.
    • Johnathan was understandably unhappy when Beatrice and her husband came to visit his daughter Star, despite Stella insisting that she just wants to see her granddaughter and that Johnathan will never see her again. Unfortunately for Johnathan, Beatrice DOES decide to "visit" his home and wastes no time insulting him and making ludicrous demands.
    • It gets worse when it's revealed that the only reason she came to visit was that she wanted to pair Star up with someone she hates because he's in high society and cares very little about her grandchild's opinion on the matter. When Stella tries to talk her mother out of this idea, she learns that Beatrice plans to take her and Star back to New York in order to train Star to become a "proper lady". Stella, not wanting to risk her relationship with her daughter and unable to stand up to her mother, tries to get her mother to cancel that plan by showing her that Danny is worthy of Star by making him into a perfect gentleman. The plan did not work since it was clear that Beatrice didn't care if Danny had perfect manners since he was not a blue-blood. And Beatrice wastes no time passive-aggressively insulting him and looking down on him and his family, much to Star's fury and Stella's exasperation.
    • The breaking point was when Donovan Loadman, the boy Beatrice set up for Star, tried to kiss her and hit her when she refused him. When Danny defended Star and called the guy out, she took Donovan's side, much to the outrage of everyone. Everyone was furious at Beatrice's behavior, and even Stella, who spent most of the story being a "Well Done, Son" Guy to her mother, finds this unacceptable and even thinks her mother has gone insane, and it was implied she was going to confront her before a ghost attack.
    • After the ghost attack ended and Danny protected Star from getting hurt, Beatrice STILL insulted Danny and took Donovan's side over his, even trying to BLAME everything on Danny and his family and verbally attacking them. This was the last straw for Stella, who loses her temper and FINALLY confronts her mother, and even SLAPS her. Before calling Beatrice out on everything she has done and promising to cut her out of their lives for her actions and lack of concern for her family members, admitting that the others were right and that she would never change.
    • Even though Beatrice tried to berate her and call her a disappointment, Stella didn't care as she was more concerned about being a good mother to Star than trying to gain her mother's approval. When Stella and Johnathan decided to place a restraining order on Beatrice, the old woman tries to demand that Stella lifts it under the threat of cutting her out of her will, but Stella refuses, stating that she will not change her mind on the matter and saying that Beatrice doesn't even deserve to be a grandmother because of her actions.
    • In the end, it is clear that Stella's relationship with her mother is destroyed at this point, and Stella herself has no regrets, as any real love and respect she had for her mother is gone at this point, and the only thing she cares about is Star's happiness and well-being.
  • Preppy Name: Her full name is Stella Veronique Patricia Marie Traville-Bevier.
  • The Proud Elite: She makes it no secret that she takes great pride in her family's wealth and status. Thankfully, she tones down this attitude later on.
  • Pushover Parent: Initially, she basically let Colette do whatever she wanted and believed she was a perfect little angel. From "Stuck" onwards, however, Stella becomes much more active in disciplining her stepdaughter once she becomes aware of Colette's rotten actions and behavior.
  • Rage Breaking Point: She hits it with her mother in "Visited" after Beatrice refuses to let up even after the Fentons saved the country club and Donovan hurt Star, and pours out years' worth of resentment.
  • The Resenter:
    • She initially resented Johnathan after their divorce but now tries to maintain a more civil relationship with him.
    • She may deny it at first but Stella deeply resents her mother Beatrice for being controlling and oppressive her entire life. After disowning her mother, she's much more open about this.
  • Rich Bitch: She is very rich, haughty, and stuck-up. She starts to get better after "Bonding".
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: She is wealthy but seems to have an alien view on the more everyday lifestyle.
  • Security Blanket: She had a stuffed monkey named "Peanuts" in her childhood, which she happily gives to Pierre once she finds it in "Traveled".
  • Selective Obliviousness: Despite how clear it is to everyone who meets them, and the vocal hate that even her closest friend has, Stella is in no way capable of seeing that Jean-Luc and Colette are both greedy and arrogant people with little regard for others. Whenever evidence presents itself to the point of practically being a neon sign, she is in complete denial and insists they care deep down but don't show it.
    • However, later stories imply Stella is aware of Jean-Luc and Colette's true natures and is growing increasingly discontent with her new family (except Pierre), but hasn't fully wised up and done something about it yet.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Stella has demonstrated each of the sins prior to her changing:
    • Envy: With the possible exception of Solene, she gets jealous when any woman shows interest in Johnathan, like Penelope Spectra or Heather St. Cloud.
    • Gluttony: She’s not much of an eater because she’s obsessed with watching her figure, but she has a hunger for the finer things in life like the latest fashions and expensive jewelry.
    • Greed: She’s very materialistic and was quite demanding towards Johnathan when they were married. Part of the reason she left him for Jean-Luc was because she was attracted to his more worldly, Old Money lifestyle.
    • Lust: She cheated on Johnathan with Jean-Luc while they were married.
    • Pride: She’s a Spoiled Brat that comes from one of the wealthiest families in New York and was raised to believe she’s more important than the “commoners”.
    • Sloth: She’s a socialite who doesn’t work and just lives off her family’s wealth and husband’s fortune.
    • Wrath: She can be a Control Freak who gets very temperamental when things don’t go her way and usually blames Johnathan for her problems.
  • Shallow Cannot Comprehend True Love: In the beginning of “Lost”, she’s just as boggled as Jean-Luc on why Star would associate with Danny, a middle-class boy who isn’t into sports, whom they deem beneath her. Deconstructed as this attitude only further worsens her already incredibly strained relationship with Star since it leads her daughter to believe that Danny left because Stella insulted him, which is not helped her refusal to understand what she did wrong. Eventually subverted as Stella makes an effort to get to know Danny better to please Star, and genuinely grows very fond of him after realizing he's a Nice Guy who would do anything for her daughter. Stella soon realizes that Star is better off without boys like Kwan, Donovan, and Dash, who would've fit her once shallow standards, and even goes on to defend Danny from her own mother when Beatrice objects to him dating Star for similar reasons.
  • Sheltered Aristocrat: She was pampered all her life and has a somewhat alien view of how the real world works, even after becoming a wife and mother.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • She ships Danny Phantom with his supposed girlfriend, Starlight Spirit, unaware of who they really are.
    • Post-Lost stories shows that she has become this for Danny and Star as well, thanks to Character Development. Stella grows genuinely fond of Danny and even admits she wouldn't mind if he eventually marries Star.
  • Shipping Torpedo:
    • She and Jean-Luc dismiss the idea of Star being with Danny, finding him too plain and unimpressive for her and not hesitating to badmouth him behind his back. It becomes subverted later on though after Stella apologizes to Danny and accepts Star's relationship with him. Afterwards, she becomes more receptive and makes an effort to be nicer to him. Bonding involves Stella trying to "help" their relationship, both in an effort to be supportive and also to try and improve her relationship with Star.
    • After cutting Beatrice out from her life, Stella is among those who encourages her father Richard to leave her mother and is visibly disappointed when he refuses to do so.
  • Socialite: She devotes herself to being with high society. Due to her wealthy family and husband, she doesn't work so she prefers to spend her time shopping or going to the spa and country club.
  • Stage Mom: She is revealed to be this in Dressed, getting very excited when Star joins a beauty pageant and going overboard with her "coaching". It's shown that the reason she is so obsessed with winning pageants is due to being a former beauty queen herself.
  • Stepford Smiler: It's heavily implied in Dressed that Stella secretly isn't very happy and may regret her past life choices.
    • She clearly feels guilty over leaving her first family and has been trying to reconnect with Star and earn her forgiveness. When Star enters a beauty pageant, Stella is excited and uses this as an opportunity to bond with her daughter (in addition to her own love for pageants) but comes off as very pushy and controlling about it, which drives Star further away and causes her to lash out at Stella (partially due to Spectra's influence). Star calls out her mother for her past mistakes, leaving Stella heartbroken and ashamed. Both Danny and even Johnathan try to comfort her and convince her that Star didn't mean it, that she was just under a lot of stress and did not think about what she said. Stella, however, is still sad and bitter over the consequences of her mistakes.
    • Later when Johnathan tries to comfort her, Stella remembers how happy she was with him, much to her shock. She wonders why she felt that since Stella believes that she should be happy with her current husband.
    • Later, Spectra reveals to Star and the rest of Team Phantom that Stella is miserable deep down and has many regrets about her life, and uses her high-maintenance habits as a coping mechanism. Spectra also hints that Stella might be aware that her new husband and step-daughter are horrible people but is in complete denial about it. Stella is also very insecure about her flaws, as she isn't even sure if Jean-Luc is faithful to her or not and may know that Colette doesn't truly love her deep down, only seeing her stepmother as a means to an end.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: As shown in the pic above, Stella looks a lot like her daughter.
  • Suppressed Rage: It becomes clear in "Visited" that Stella has a lot of pent-up rage and frustration over her mother dictating her life and generally stifling her. She even engages in some Percussive Therapy by fighting off ghost bats before making it unabashedly clear that she's fed up with Beatrice's so-called standards.
    • Even in "Traveled", Stella goes on an emotional rant about how her mother always ignored what she wanted as a child in order to make her the perfect debutant.
  • Sympathetic Adulterer: Subverted and deconstructed. While Johnathan doesn’t argue Stella’s point that the spark in their marriage was gone, he makes it clear that it still wasn’t an excuse for her to cheat on him with Jean-Luc Bevier. His parents, Star, Richard, Team Phantom and their loved ones all certainly agree since they can’t understand what was going through her head to make her run off with Jean-Luc, who is a pompous, shameless womanizer and unapologetic classist snob who raised his daughter Colette to be even more despicable than he is and is no more faithful to Stella than he was to his previous wives. Even Stella has come to regret her impulsive actions, especially since her relationship with the Beviers is only growing more strained recently because it’s implied that deep down, she’s finally accepting Jean-Luc’s flaws and Colette’s increasingly bratty/sociopathic behavior, which is getting out of control.
  • Taught to Hate: She started off as an elitist snob because her even more elitist mother, Beatrice, raised her to think that her opinions were more important of those from “commoners”. Later stories even reveal Stella was a sweet and kind girl in her youth before her abusive mother's influence set in.
  • Tender Tomboyishness, Foul Femininity: With Maddie. Stella is a vain snob and a rather insensitive mother who has long hair and dresses in high-class fashion while Maddie is usually a Nice Girl, as well as a more caring and open-minded parent who is a ghost hunter, has Boyish Short Hair, and wears jumpsuits. Thankfully, Stella gains Character Development and becomes a kinder woman, as well as a proficient fighter.
  • They Just Dont Get It: To her loved ones' never-ending frustration, nothing can convince Stella that the Beviers are irredeemably horrible people, no matter how much of a womanizing scumbag Jean-Luc acts or how much trouble Colette causes. Though it's later implied she does know about her second family's faults, but refuses to face it.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: She was a snooty Rich Bitch and a neglectful mother towards Star in her first appearance. However, after she was called out on her actions, she actively begins working to improve her relationship with her daughter. Post-"Lost" stories show that not only is she trying to be a better mother to Star, she begins acting nicer to others, including Danny and his family.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: An unintentional and parental version. Her lackluster parenting contributed to Star’s Beta Bitch attitude and her overindulgence of Colette only fuels her Spoiled Brat behavior.
  • Trophy Wife: While she herself doesn't see it that way, Stella is this for Jean-Luc, being relatively younger and beautiful but her status as his wife is more for show in public.
  • Turn the Other Cheek: Her usual reaction whenever her mother Beatrice is her usual unpleasant self, which has clearly been ingrained into her for decades. Thankfully, she outgrows this by the end of "Visited".
  • The Unfavorite: To Beatrice, who has stated that Liam is her favorite child and ironically gets along better with Jean-Luc than with Stella. From what is told of Stella's childhood and her younger sisters, they appear to be more well-adjusted than her and their mother was the hardest on Stella growing up.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: In “Bonding”, Johnathan calls Stella out on being this by blaming him for her own screw-ups at the dinner party and not appreciating the fact that he took time out of his busy schedule to support their daughter by coming to an event Stella organized at the last minute and without warning so they can bond with the Fentons.
  • Upper-Class Twit: She's from a wealthy family, and isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: "Traveled" implies Stella was a more compassionate, free-spirited, and open-minded girl in her youth, but became an obnoxious, superficial, and egocentric woman over the years thanks to her mother's influence.
  • Useless Bystander Parent: Downplayed and unintentionally. Stella does genuinely love her children but her naivety and self-absorbed nature mean she isn't always aware of what they're going through. Despite Star's clear dislike of her stepfamily, Stella dismissed her daughter's complaints and insisted on bringing along her second husband and stepdaughter whenever she visited, wanting Star to bond with them and deluding herself that they can be a happy family. She never intervened in Colette's cruelty or Jean-Luc's (at best) apathy towards Star and always sided with them (especially Colette). Finally subverted after "Lost" when Stella begins standing up for Star more and stops trying to force her to spend time with her stepfamily. While she still willfully ignores Jean-Luc and Colette's unpleasant traits, she stops going along with their attitudes like she used to, especially when Colette insults or bullies Star and Pierre.
  • Vanity Is Feminine: She cares a lot about her appearance and is an elegant socialite and ex-beauty queen.
  • Vicariously Ambitious: She was a former beauty queen and always gets excited when Star joins a pageant, going to great lengths to help her win.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: She's on both ends of this trope as she's far more reasonable and mature than her Psychopathic Womanchild mother Beatrice, yet lacks her daughter Star's common sense.
  • Wedding Ring Defense: In “Traveled”, Stella uses this reason to turn down Chip Franco and Power Surge because she’s married to Jean-Luc (although her heart secretly yearns for Johnathan).
  • "Well Done, Daughter!" Gal: "Visited" shows that Stella is desperate to please her mother despite an abject awareness of how horrible the woman acts. Fortunately, she grows out of this by the end of the story after seeing just how little Beatrice actually cares about her and Star. From then on, she fully agrees with other people's loathing of her mother.
  • What Does She See in Him?: It is a mystery why she remains with Jean-Luc, despite the fact that as many point out, he is still a snobbish womanizer and being married hasn't/won't change that. "Visited" shows that her upbringing and Beatrice's toxic influence played a role in this.
  • Where Did We Go Wrong?: As she becomes more worn down from trying to curb her stepdaughter's recent out-of-control behavior and cleaning up her messes, Stella wonders several times if she failed Colette as a mother.
  • With Friends Like These...: She admits that growing up she only made friends with people her mother approved of but, other than Eleanor, she never liked any of them.
  • Womanchild: She is a spoiled, ditzy woman who sometimes acts even less mature her teenaged daughter. Stella tends to be shallow, critical, flighty and even prone to having tantrums that you would expect from a teenager rather than a middle-aged woman and mother. Johnathan outright calls her "a spoiled brat in a woman's body" in "Bonding".
  • Women Are Wiser: She's not exactly wise per say, but she is comparably more sensible than Jean-Luc.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Johnathan to Stella, when she wants to leave the beauty pageant because of her daughter's harsh words and belief that she has failed as a mother. Johnathan does not deny that Stella has made many mistakes and hurt their daughter in the past. However, he also admits that she has made a sincere effort to be a better mother to Star. He assures Stella that while flawed, she has done a lot to make up with Star and everyone else, admitting that she is not the worst mother ever.

used with permission by artist
A rich, womanizing French man. He is Star's step-father, Colette's father and Stella's second husband. Jean-Luc is a philandering jerk who is the reason Star's parents divorced.
  • 0% Approval Rating: Only Stella, Colette, and Beatrice like him. He's insulted by practically everyone else who knows him for being a snobbish womanizer.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: He's this to Maddie and Solene. Maddie hates him for being a complete jerk to her son Danny and hitting on her, to the point that she slapped him and even considers him to be "a creepy French version of Vlad". Solene has disliked him since the minute they met in "Staged" because Johnathan warned her about how much of a womanizing slimeball Jean-Luc is, and doesn't bother to hide how much she enjoys his absence.
  • Adults Are Useless: He’s too much of an apathetic jerk to rein in his spoiled daughter Colette most of the time. Occasionally subverted as he does have limits with her behavior as he lets Stella punish Colette when she goes too far and will sometimes step in himself, like when she threw a tantrum in public over losing a beauty pageant that resulted in her injuring a security guard and spent $12,000 on a Halloween costume that was non-refundable. He also considers sending Colette to boarding school or getting therapy for her since he’s running very low on patience regarding her unhealthy fixation with Danny. On a more positive note, he's willing to put his own life at risk to save his infant son Pierre from danger.
  • Ambiguously Brown: The image shown of him has a tan skin color that neither his daughter or son have. It's unknown if he just tans a lot or it's his natural skin tone, since Pierre and Colette are stated to physically take after their mothers.
  • Anti-Role Model: He's a womanizing jerkass who acts very self-absorbed and believes his money and status make him superior to others. It's no wonder Star and Danny want to take measures to ensure that Pierre doesn't turn out like him.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: In their debut in "Lost", he and Colette didn't believe in ghosts until having an encounter with the Box Ghost.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Not necessarily evil, but he's a Blue Blood vineyard owner who treats anyone not on the same status as him with complete disdain and scorn, and has no problem stepping on others to get what he wants.
  • Attempted Homewrecker: He'll hit on any lady who catches his eye regardless of their relationship status. Maddie and Solene despise him for this very reason.
  • Birds of a Feather:
    • With Stella; both of them are spoiled, selfish, and shallow rich upper-crusts who only care for themselves and look down on the lower-class.
    • Also with Beatrice; Jean-Luc is one of the few people who can stand being around her since they're both arrogant aristocrats.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He only acts like a gentleman to seduce women. Any woman who's aware of his sleazy, rotten personality ends up completely hating him.
  • Blame the Paramour: Played With. While Star and Johnathan despise him and resent Stella for leaving them for him, Star in particular seems to hold Jean-Luc as the main reason for her parents' divorce. She does hold her mother accountable for her infidelity, though is still willing to give her a chance to earn forgiveness. However, Star extends no such chance to Jean-Luc, most likely because Stella feels guilty for her actions and has proven she wants to make amends while he has expressed no such remorse.
    • "Unprepared" further reveals that Star actually tried to give both Jean-Luc and his daughter Colette a chance at their first meeting and was willing to consider them family for her mother's sake at least. However, Jean-Luc's rudeness and apathy towards Star and Colette bullying her destroyed any chance of Star bonding with them. In the present day, this is why Star is so mistrustful of her father's new girlfriend, Solene. After realizing she was wrong about Solene and trying to make things right with her father, hearing Stella admit that she wants to make it up to Johnathan for how she hurt him and that the two of them needed to move on makes Star realize that she also needs to move on from and accept her parents' divorce. However, Star never accepts or forgives Jean-Luc, who has no interest in even being nice to her.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: In “Barked”, Jean-Luc wets himself in fear upon seeing Cujo's monster form for the first time.
  • Brutal Honesty: In "Golden", he makes it very clear to Donovan Loadman that he won't force Colette to marry him and Donovan should never contact him again because she deserves much better than some violent "brute" who abuses a girl over something as petty as rejection, and even Danny would make a better match for Colette.
  • Canon Foreigner: Created for this series of fanfics.
  • Character Development: Somewhat. While he's still a classist sleaze, he's growing less and less tolerant of Colette's entitled and careless behavior as time goes on.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Downplayed as nobody finds him chivalrous but unlike Donovan Loadman, he at least respects women enough to accept rejection and won't resort to hitting one after being turned down.
  • Comes Great Responsibility: He might be a Rich Bastard who doesn't care about lower-class people, but he still believes high-class persons shouldn't abuse their power to get away with unwarranted violence and holds it against Donovan Loadman.
  • The Corrupter: It’s basically his fault Colette is the massive Spoiled Brat she is today since he raised her to think that money and status make her better than everyone after his divorce from her mother. His disastrous parenting is what makes Star want to keep Pierre away from him, especially if he ends up fighting with Stella over custody of their son in a divorce.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: He is physically based on Iknik Blackstone Varrick from The Legend of Korra, as both are rich men with mustaches and tanned skin, right down to wearing purple as their predominant color. However, Jean-Luc lacks Varrick's redeeming qualities; Varrick is Affably Evil, very energetic, holds no ill will towards the heroes despite past occurrences, shows he's capable of empathy, has an Odd Friendship with Nice Guy Bolin and genuinely loves his assistant Zhu Li before marrying her. By contrast, Jean-Luc is a stuck-up and vain man who looks down on the lower classes, only shows interest in attractive women regardless of their marital status, has an open disdain towards Danny specifically and even if he does indeed love Stella, it doesn't change his attitude, to the point that Star wonders if he cheats on her.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Possibly. He is the owner of a vineyard, and is NOT a nice guy to say the least, though it's unclear if his attitude affects his business practices.
  • The Dandy: He’s a pompous windbag obsessed with tanning and wearing overpriced suits.
  • Dirty Coward: In “Barked”, he soils himself in terror when he sees Cujo’s monster form, is willing to flee from the country club during Cujo's rampage without Fifi, and later tries to use Danny as a shield when he tries to save Jean-Luc from the ghost dog.
  • Entitled Bastard: Not to the same extent as Colette, but he certainly believes that his wealth gives him the right to whatever and whomever he wants.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • He spoils his daughter, but he does not argue against his wife grounding her for getting in trouble.
    • He is usually pretty lenient with Colette, but holds her to some standards when it comes to their public image and family business. When Colette makes a huge scene after losing the beauty pageant in Dressed, Jean-Luc is furious since her behavior could reflect badly on him, and he had to use all the money he earned from a recent deal to pay the medical bills and settlement of a security guard she hurt. Jean-Luc not only scolds his daughter, but grounds her of his own volition, including using Colette's funds to recoup the money he lost.
    • Jean-Luc may spoil his daughter immensely and usually does not care about her expenses, not thinking twice as she spends hundreds of dollars over her latest whims. However, according to Star, he was outraged to learn that Colette spent over $12,000 on a Halloween costume and that they could not return it. Thus, he fully supported his wife in punishing her by cutting her shopping budget. "Golden" further reveals he and Stella temporarily cut Colette off.
    • Jean-Luc, at first, was indifferent to his daughter Colette's crush on Danny, just telling her that he is a "peasant" and she is too good for him. Eventually, however, he became concerned and disgusted with how obsessive Colette has grown towards Danny and the fact that even when the latter keeps rejecting her, she will not take no for an answer. In "Golden", Jean-Luc even admits to his wife that he doesn't know where Colette gets her obsessiveness from, and if he chased a girl who kept saying no that much, then he would've been jailed or institutionalized. And when Colette asks her father if he thinks she's acting crazy, Jean-Luc says yes and even discusses with Stella possibly sending Colette away to boarding school. It's very clear that Jean-Luc is out of patience with his daughter's fixation on Danny, and to a lesser extent, despite being a womanizer, is disgusted that she is refusing to accept Danny is not interested in her, showing that he can take being rejected by a woman.
    • He won't force Colette into marrying anyone and values her consent.
    • Jean-Luc may be a pompous, womanizing asshole but even he hates Donovan Loadman for the lousy way he treated Star, being repulsed that Donovan hit her over turning him down. Jean-Luc would rather prefer Colette marry Danny than Donovan (if not for the fact Danny made it clear he won't dump Star for her). He'd only let Donovan marry Colette if she agrees to it and Reginald confirms that their future children will inherit the Loadman fortune.
  • The Ex's New Jerkass: He is Stella's second husband, and he is an arrogant aristocrat who has no qualms with hitting on other women.
  • The Fettered: Unlike other rich snobs such as his daughter Colette, Donovan Loadman, and Beatrice Traville, Jean-Luc actually believes that elites should have limits and behave dignified at least for the sake of appearances, so they don’t seem uncivilized like commoners who they’re taught to expect unruly behavior from. It’s for this reason that he looks down on Donovan for resorting to violence just because Star rejected him and refuses to let him near Colette.
  • Foil:
    • To Johnathan. Both are wealthy men with teenage daughters and were at one point, romantically involved with Stella. However, Jean-Luc is a shameless, womanizing owner of a vineyard who spoils his own daughter rotten and does nothing to curb her attitude. Johnathan is a hardworking, no-nonsense lawyer who loves his daughter but has little time to spend with her due to his career.
    • To Reginald. Both are men from Old Money families with spoiled teenage children that they struggle to control and lost their first wives. However, Reginald is a hardworking, benevolent realtor who loves his son but has little time to spend with him due to his career and is willing to severely punish Donovan for his horrible attitude, and is a widower who is implied to have been Happily Married. Jean-Luc is a shameless, womanizing Slimeball who owns a vineyard and spoils his own daughter rotten, doing little to nothing to curb her awful attitude, and drove his first wife away with his philandering.
  • French Jerk: Is French and a pretentious jerk to anyone not attractive to a skirt.
  • Hands-Off Parenting: Jean-Luc's "parenting" of Colette consists of throwing money at her to satisfy her demands. He also doesn't really keep tabs on his daughter, considering how much free reign she has—Colette reveals in Stuck that she's stayed in hotels by herself before and doesn't even have a curfew (until Stella enforces one), and in Traveled, she's able to convince her father to lift her grounding so she can go on a "girls trip with Paulina" as a guise to follow Star and Danny to New York, with Jean-Luc none the wiser the whole time. Stella is usually the one who doles out Colette's punishments while Jean-Luc just goes along with her word. One of the few times he actively disciplines his daughter in Dressed is primarily because Colette threw a public tantrum he couldn't ignore.
  • Hated by All: Save for Stella, Jean-Luc is openly disrespected by everyone who knows him. This includes Star since he stole her mother from their family, the Fentons given his dislike of Danny and attempting to hit on Maddie in front of her husband, and even Eleanor, who makes it clear she doesn't see why Stella loves him. Even the Beviers' pet poodle Fifi despises him.
  • Hate Sink: Not to the same extent as his daughter, but it's made clear that he is not a good person and the readers are not meant to like him.
  • Henpecked Husband: Downplayed. He becomes this to Stella as he indulges his wife and while he doesn't always agree with her choices, he goes along with them to stay in her good graces.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • In Boxed, Jean-Luc is revealed to be a fan of boxing. He also seems to be well-informed in the sport as he analyzes Danny's fighting situation against a samurai.
    • Despite the fact that Jean-Luc inherited his wealth from his family's vineyard and is a vain snob who spends his money in lavish ways when he is not chasing after women or spending time at the country club, he does seem to be working from home and takes his business seriously.
    • He tells Donovan Loadman that he believes that elites should keep a public image that mustn't be ruined with violent behavior expected from the lower class. This shows that he has standards despite his snobbery.
    • In “Barked”, he's revealed to have experience using firearms when he's able to shoot Cujo with the Guys in White’s laser.
  • Humble Parent, Spoiled Kids: Extremely downplayed since his poor parenting is what turned Colette into the Spoiled Brat she is now due to raising her to be as selfish and conceited as himself, but Jean-Luc does value hard work, would rather mind his own business than focus on petty grudges, and is mature enough to accept being told "no". Meanwhile, Colette is lazy, entitled, vindictive, and so utterly spoiled to a tee she turns into a Yandere Stalker with a Crush towards Danny for being the first guy to ever reject her.
  • Hypocrite:
    • He looks down on lower classes but hits on any attractive woman regardless of her financial status.
    • In "Barked", he accuses Stella of spoiling Star too much (just because she doesn't want to make Star babysit Pierre while spending time with Danny). Given his own terrible parenting of Colette is what turned her into the Spoiled Brat she is today, he is the last person on the planet who should be accusing anyone of this. The narration even states he's not aware of his own hypocrisy.
  • Informed Kindness: Stella stubbornly insists that he’s a good person deep down who loves her but everyone else, even her Nice Guy father Richard, breaks it to her that she's just deluding herself since Jean-Luc is a blatantly unapologetic jerkass who only cares about social climbing and hitting on women. While he may care about Stella to an extent, it's clear she isn't a priority to him beyond superficial reasons as he'll happily ignore or even ditch her if her desires and actions don't involve or interest him. The closest thing to a redeeming quality he possesses is his genuine love for his biological children and even that is tainted by his incompetent parenting on account of raising his daughter Colette to be an even bigger Upper-Class Twit than he is. Although Penelope Spectra implies that Stella does suspect he’s cheating on her, so she might be more aware of Jean-Luc’s philandering than she’s willing to let on.
  • Jerkass: Something the Bevier father and daughter have in common. Jean-Luc is a pompous jerk to anyone not attractive in a skirt, while Colette is a two-faced spoiled brat who makes hidden insults towards Star.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • He rightfully opposes Colette's growing obsession with Danny as it's becoming seriously unhealthy and considers sending her away to boarding school or getting her therapy in the hopes of fixing it.
    • In "Golden", Star admits that Jean-Luc has every right not to let a jerk like Donovan Loadman marry Colette.
    • He correctly points out to Donovan Loadman that his violent behavior towards Star makes him no better than the lower classes they look down on.
    • Snobbish reasons aside, his hatred of Amity Park isn’t unjustified given the constant ghost attacks it experiences.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black:
    • Jean-Luc is this to his daughter, Colette. Both are arrogant aristocrats who look down on the middle-class, have a habit of dating people already in relationships, and have a strained relationship with Star. The difference is while Jean-Luc doesn't particularly like Star and is uncaring about her safety, he does not go out of his way to antagonize her and is content with staying out of her way, unlike Colette, who constantly bullies and humiliates Star. It's heavily implied that despite Jean-Luc being a shameless womanizer and cheater, he does care for Stella, who, despite his unfaithfulness, is genuinely happy with him, and he loves his children. On the other hand, it is implied that despite getting along with Stella, Colette does not really care about her stepmother; she's also shown to be indifferent at best to her infant half-brother Pierre. Finally, Jean-Luc may be a womanizer but there is no evidence that he is obsessive about the women he chases. On the other hand, Colette has become completely fixated with taking Danny as her boyfriend, no matter the consequences.
    • He's this to Donovan Loadman too as he considers him a disgraced brute that's little better than the commoners after his abysmal treatment of Star in "Visited" and would rather his daughter marry Danny than him.
    • He's also this to Beatrice since he'd never force Colette to marry anyone, especially someone as awful as Donovan Loadman, disinherited or not.
  • Malicious Misnaming: Star calls him "Jean-Puke" because she hates him for tearing her family apart. Eventually, her dad, Team Phantom, and the Fentons do too after seeing what a conceited jerk he is.
  • Mirror Character: Maddie considers him a French version of Vlad since they're both pompous, rich slimeballs who act charming to manipulate others, are hated by Team Phantom, and flirted with Maddie only to be rejected. But for all his flaws, Jean-Luc is just a normal man who can accept rejection and is content with ignoring Team Phantom while Vlad is a supervillain and petty jerk who is Not Good with Rejection and goes out of his way to torment a bunch of teenagers for crossing him.
  • Moral Myopia: He doesn’t care if Beatrice tries to force Star into marrying Donovan since she’s Stella’s responsibility but he refuses to have his own daughter go through the same thing.
  • No-Respect Guy: Pretty much nobody outside of his family, except Star and Richard, have anything good to say about him since they hate what a pompous skirt-chaser he is.
  • Not Blood, Not Family: While Jean-Luc doesn't return his stepdaughter's hostility as intensely, he makes it clear he doesn't consider Star family, only referring to her as Stella's daughter.
  • Not So Similar:
    • To his own daughter, Colette. Everyone points out that they're alike in being Dirty Coward elitist snobs that take pride in coming from Old Money and have no problem with stealing someone else’s lover but when you look beneath the surface, they’re actually quite different. Jean-Luc is a hardworking wine salesman while Colette plans to live off her family’s wealth without working a day in her life. Jean-Luc believes that the elites should maintain a certain level of dignity to keep up appearances and not act unruly like commoners while Colette is The Unfettered who doesn’t care what she has to do to get what she wants. Jean-Luc is mostly apathetic towards Team Phantom and is fine with ignoring them, whereas Colette is a sadist who goes out of her way to torment them for kicks. Jean-Luc flirts with any pretty face he sees while Colette only has eyes for Danny Fenton. Jean-Luc is capable of accepting rejection while Colette becomes insanely possessive of Danny for being the first boy to ever turn her down and is obsessed with stealing him from Star by any means necessary. While FAR from a good husband since he’s an unapologetic womanizer, Jean-Luc is never abusive to his romantic partners nor does he use force or manipulation to make someone date him, as he’s fine with his wives leaving him. Colette is incredibly controlling and possessive towards Danny as she treats him more like property than a person and is fine with threatening him into being with her.
    • Jean-Luc Bevier has been compared to Vlad Masters by Maddie and Jazz, who referred to him as the French Vlad. Jean-Luc and Vlad are both upper-class men who hit on married women and put on a charming act to hide their true unpleasant natures. However, there are some apparent differences between them: Jean-Luc makes his money legally through inheritance and a family business he runs, while Vlad used his powers to become the wealthiest man on the planet through criminal means in addition to his inheritance; Jean-Luc has been married multiple times and has two children, while Vlad is single and obsessed with having a family with one specific woman; Jean-Luc is content with using his wealth to live the good life, spending it on women and hanging out at the country club, while Vlad has spent decades of his life fixated on Maddie, and is only interested in using his wealth to get with her and make her son either his son or miserable; Jean-Luc can handle being rejected by a woman and has standards about saying no, as he seems to have taken Maddie's "hint" that she doesn't care for his flirtations, while Vlad can't get it through his head that Maddie hates him and is willing to do anything to make her his, including brainwashing. Ultimately, Jean-Luc, despite being unpleasant and apathetic, is an ordinary man who does not harm the people around him, while Vlad is a supervillain who’s willing to destroy anyone who gets in the way of what he wants.
  • Oblivious to Hatred: He doesn’t know his father-in-law, Richard Traville, has hated him and his daughter Colette since they first met for being self-important, elitist jerks.
  • Old Money: Unlike Stella's former husband, Johnathan, who is a hardworking Self-Made Man, Jean-Luc comes from a wealthy French family whose fortune came from their vineyard.
  • Parental Neglect: He raised Colette to be just as, if not more, snobby and entitled as himself and is too apathetic to even try to keep her under control most of the time. Star is very much aware of this and seeks to protect her half-brother Pierre from a similar fate should Jean-Luc win custody of him when he divorces Stella. In general, he dedicates more of his time to his work, socializing, and picking up women than parenting his children and doesn't really make an effort to spend time with Colette and Pierre outside of business or social occasions other than spoiling them. Notably, he doesn't seem to be personally involved in caring for Pierre, leaving the child-rearing to Stella (which implies he may have done the same with Colette when she was younger). Ironically, it's Colette stepping too far out of line that prompts Jean-Luc to discipline her, and even then it's more about him wanting his daughter to stay out of his way while he's working and not embarrass him. The fact that he tries to command Pierre to obey him as if his son is an employee in "Barked" says a lot about how utterly clueless he is on how to be an actual parent.
  • Parents as People: He truly loves his biological children but his nature as an apathetic snob and sheer incompetence at parenting turned Colette into the Hate Sink Spoiled Brat she is today that the entire cast despises. Star is thus understandably opposed to him gaining custody of Pierre if he divorces Stella to protect her baby half-brother from being brought under the same disastrous upbringing that Colette was subjected to.
  • Parental Marriage Veto:
    • While Colette is not dating Danny, Jean-Luc makes it clear that he does not approve of the pairing as he believes Danny is beneath his daughter, and later becomes concerned and exasperated by Colette obsessing over a boy who is both taken and not interested in her.
    • Downplayed as he also disapproves of Star dating Danny but unlike with Colette, makes no effort to interfere with their relationship.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Despite his unpleasant nature, it is hinted that he does care about his children.
    • Downplayed in "Protected". While he and Star do not get along, he agrees to let her babysit Pierre on Stella's insistence. After Star's first successful night, Jean-Luc comments that perhaps she is "not as unreliable as Colette expected [her] to be", and raises no further objections to her spending time with Pierre.
    • In "Golden", he admits he'd prefer Colette marry Danny than Donovan even if the latter wasn't disinherited, since to him even a "peasant" with manners would be a much better suitor for his daughter than a violent Spoiled Brat and potential domestic abuser.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Downplayed as while not a villain, he’s a pompous jerk who the main cast despise for being a classist, self-important skirt-chasing prick that sees anyone beneath him as “peasants”. It’s very clear that Colette gets her snobby attitude from him.
  • Potty Failure: In “Barked”, he pees himself in terror after seeing Cujo’s giant form for the first time.
  • Prince Charming Wannabe: He’ll flirt with any attractive woman he sees but ones like Yolanda only like him for his wealth, all his ex-wives despise him for being a shameless womanizer (and like Stella, were initially too naive to see his true colors), and smarter ladies like Maddie and Solene can immediately see him for the pompous douche he really is and instantly hate him.
  • Prince Charmless: He acts like a suave gentleman to seduce women, but every woman he marries eventually divorces him after becoming wise to and getting fed up with his womanizing. Meanwhile, people like Maddie and Solene immediately see him for the slimeball he is since he hits on them despite being married to Stella and doesn’t bother hiding how much of a classist jerk he is to anyone he considers beneath him.
  • The Proud Elite: He is very proud of his family's wealth and heritage.
  • Pushover Parents: Zigzagged. He spoils Colette heavily and doesn't really do anything to curb her behavior, but he does have limits as he's fine with Stella punishing her and has grounded Colette himself, such as after her tantrum from losing the beauty pageant in "Dressed" and when she spent too much on her Halloween costume in "Costumed".
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: He thinks the world revolves around wealth and privilege, a belief he passed onto his even more spoiled daughter Colette.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: He is correct that Colette’s interest in Danny is not good for her, even if he is saying it for purely snobby reasons. Though he does also come to oppose her interfering in her stepsister's relationship and harassing a guy who isn't interested in her.
  • Screw the Money, I Have Rules!: Even he wouldn't force Colette to marry Donovan Loadman, disinherited or not, since Jean-Luc finds him no better than a commoner after the awful way he treated Star just for rejecting him.
  • Serial Homewrecker: He has a habit of hitting on married women, even while married himself.
  • Shallow Cannot Comprehend True Love: He's taken aback as to why Star would associate with Danny, an unpopular middle-class boy. Being a womanizer, he also doesn't take relationships or marriage seriously and believes every woman he likes should flock to him, regardless of marital status. He tries to flirt with Solene because he doesn't believe a man like Johnathan deserves such a beautiful woman.
  • Sheltered Aristocrat: Like his daughter, he is from a wealthy family and clearly does not know or care how the real world works.
  • Shipping Torpedo: He despises Danny and thinks that he is too plain and unimpressive for Star. He also opposes Colette's interest in Danny.
  • Slimeball: Jean-Luc is Star's stepfather, who she has no real love for. She describes him as "Pepe Le Pew without any charm", since he seduced her mother while she and Star's father were still married and made her leave her family.
  • Smarter Than You Look:
    • Even he recognizes that Colette doesn't have a chance with Danny since the latter made it clear he won't leave Star for her.
    • He knows it would be a bad idea to try to get Colette engaged to a violent Spoiled Brat like Donovan Loadman and no amount of his family's money can make Jean-Luc change his mind. He even recognizes that Danny would make a better husband than Toadman.
  • Slobs Versus Snobs: He’s the pompous and self-important Upper-Class Twit (snob) that looks down on the more rough and uncouth middle-class Fentons (slob), who equally despise him right back.
  • The Unapologetic: He’s basically where Colette learned to be an unrepentant asshole.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: In “Barked”, Jean-Luc tries to use Danny as a Human Shield against Cujo when Danny is trying to save him.
  • Unexpected Kindness:
    • He's a total snob and not exactly father of the year, but even he won't force his own daughter into an Arranged Marriage, especially with someone she hates like Donovan Loadman.
    • He's disgusted that Donovan uses his status as an elite to excuse his violent actions toward Star since Jean-Luc believes that elites should maintain a public image that isn't tainted by unruly behavior they're taught to expect from the lower classes. He also doesn't approve of hitting a girl just because she rejected you.
  • Upper-Class Twit: He's from a French Old Money family and is a snobby asshole because of it.
  • Villainy-Free Villain: He’s a total scumbag but Team Phantom acknowledges that at the end of the day, he’s just an elitist jerk instead of truly evil like Colette and doesn't harbor any real maliciousness towards anyone, although it was his disastrous parenting that helped turn Colette into the sociopath she is now.
  • Wicked Stepfather: Downplayed. Jean-Luc has a very strained relationship with his stepdaughter, Star Strong, who resents him for seducing her mother Stella while she was married to her father. While Jean-Luc himself seems to be indifferent to Star, and tolerates her for her mother's sake, he is not abusive to Star nor actually tries to make her miserable, seemingly being content with staying out of her way whenever she's around.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: For all his flaws, he'd never be violent with a woman and is disgusted that Donovan Loadman would stoop that low for a petty reason like rejection.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He’s willing to let Danny be hurt by Cujo to save himself.
  • You're Not My Father: To say Star completely hates him is the understatement of the century.

Star's stepsister and arch-enemy. She acts like a well-behaved girl around their parents, but deep down, Colette is a huge snob who hates Star and vice-versa. She also develops an obsession with Danny and tries to steal him from Star.
  • Abduction Is Love: After getting ghost powers, she literally attempts to kidnap Danny in order to have him all to herself.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: She's notable for being on both ends of this at once.
    • As the admirer: To Danny. Colette only flirted with him to annoy Star, but his rejection made her genuinely interested in him. However, he rejected her for a reason: finding her intolerable. Eventually, Danny develops an outright HATRED for her because she refuses to take no for an answer, her mistreatment of his girlfriend, her mistreating the rest of his friends, and the lengths that she will go to get him, such as once taking advantage of his amnesia in order to convince him that he was not only her boyfriend but also her fiancé and once trying to use her (temporary) ghost powers to THREATEN in him into a relationship with her.
      • It is made clear that Danny's opinion of her could not get any lower, and he wants her out of his life to the point where he is willing to use physical action if he can get away with it.
    • As the admirer, Colette has her own unwanted suitors in Dash and Mikey. She finds Dash way too stupid and boorish even to consider dating, while Mikey is not as bad as Dash but is less attractive and even lower than him when it comes to her standards due to being a nerdy peasant.
      • Ironically, Dash eventually loses his feelings for Colette when he sees how obsessed she is with Danny. At first, Dash is just jealous of the attention Colette is showing Danny, feeling that he is better because he is an A-lister, but then he becomes uncomfortable with how obsessive Colette is with Danny and what she's willing to do to get to him.
      • Ultimately, Dash decides to let go of his attraction to her. Hence, Dash even rejects going on a date with her because he will not date someone obsessed with another person in Golden, having to be bribed to help her, but even then, he goes back onto the deal. By "Blackmailed", while initially tempted, he decided helping her it's not worth it no matter how much money he could get out of the deal.
  • Abusive Offspring: Downplayed. Colette is not openly emotionally or verbally abusive to her father, biological mother, and stepmother(s), but is not above lying to and manipulating them by acting like a loving daughter to get what she wants.
    • It's eventually apparent that she has no real love for Stella and only sees her as a means to an end. This is best shown in "Dressed", where Colette notices her stepmother is feeling distressed after an argument with Star and shows no concern for her emotional well-being, rather deciding to take this as another opportunity to manipulate her and becoming angry when Stella is too upset to take the bait. She later even refers to Stella as her father's "stupid wife that turned him against her" in "Traveled". In "Blackmailed" when Stella tries to have a heart-to-heart with Colette, explaining she's only strict with her to guide her onto the right path and that she loves her stepdaughter as if she were her own, Colette pretends to reciprocate while internally insulting Stella for being a "fool" and even having to stop herself from mockingly laughing, making it clear she feels nothing at her stepmother's words.
    • In "Blackmailed", it's revealed that Colette is secretly in contact with not only her mother, but all of her previous stepmothers. She pretends to care about them by calling each of them her "favorite stepmother" and takes advantage of their failed marriages to her father in order to gain sympathy and use them for her plans. This proves that Colette never truly cared about any of her stepmothers, only what she could get from them. She is even anticipating adding Stella to the list once Jean-Luc inevitably divorces her.
  • Adaptation Species Change: She temporarily becomes a half-ghost in “Empowered” because of Misty’s wishing-granting necklace.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Her father calls her “Ma fille”, French for the equivalent of "My daughter".
  • Aggressive Categorism: She hates and looks down on all non upper-class people, but is infatuated with the middle-class Danny.
  • Aloof Big Sister: She seems to be indifferent at best to her infant half-brother Pierre, regarding him as a "diaper stainer" who she's looking forward to being rid of once Jean-Luc and Stella divorce.
  • Alpha Bitch: She shares this role with Paulina starting in "Stuck", being an elitist brat who enjoys causing trouble for those she deems beneath her, especially her stepsister.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Invoked. She makes it clear that she wishes that Danny was more like her, an arrogant bully who looks down on those of lower classes. Subverted with Dash Baxter and Donovan Loadman, as she finds them too stupid and annoying to be worth her time.
  • Allegorical Character:
    • She’s a rather frighteningly realistic example of a yandere and Stalker with a Crush since her obsession with Danny isn’t born out of affection or a desire for companionship but an immature sense of entitlement and a petty refusal to accept “no” for an answer. Colette quickly proves to be a danger to Danny as well as others by resorting to illegal behavior such as stalking and spying on him without his consent, along with threats and violence to force him to be with her, including threatening Danny's life and plotting to kill his girlfriend Star when she gets ghost powers in “Empowered”, and blackmailing him into dating her in “Blackmailed” by threatening to reveal his secret identity to the world and framing his friends for crimes they didn't commit, promising to ruin their lives even further if he disobeys or even displeases her.
    • She’s an accurate portrayal of a Domestic Abuser who showers her “partner” with shallow affection only to turn into a nightmare when they dissatisfy her, and sees them as a pet for her own satisfaction. This is best shown shown in “Blackmailed” when she blackmails Danny into dating her and snaps at him whenever he says or does anything that displeases her.
    • As Star and her loved ones so eloquently stated, Colette represents every negative stereotype associated with Spoiled Brats, mean girls, and wicked stepsisters.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: She has many male admirers, but the one whom she has her heart set on is Danny. Unfortunately for her, he prefers Star.
  • All Take and No Give: This is what most of her relationships are in a nutshell.
  • Always Second Best: In one very specific case. It enrages her to no end that Danny vastly prefers Star over herself and nothing she does can make him fall for her even when Star is out of the picture.
  • Ambitious, but Lazy: She wants to steal Danny from Star no matter how impossible of a task it is but would rather force him into dating her by using threats than improve her own awful personality to get him to actually like her.
  • Amusing Injuries: Any time she receives any form of humiliation or physical trauma, the readers all enjoy it.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me: In Empowered, after she gains ghost powers, she tries to use them to force Danny into a relationship with her. She fails.
  • Anti-Role Model: It's been made clear that her behavior is not meant to be imitated and there is no surprise that Star wants to make sure Pierre doesn't end up like Colette.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: In her debut in "Lost", she didn't believe that ghosts exist. She does come to accept that they are real after encountering the Box Ghost.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Star, whose life she has made miserable ever since their parents married.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Colette comes from a wealthy Blue Blood family and she is incredibly spoiled, selfish and spiteful.
  • Asshole Victim: Every time something bad happens to her (which is always), she deserves it because of her malicious actions and intentions, and bitchy personality. The most famous example is when Star, Sam, Jazz, and Valerie beat her to a pulp in "Empowered" after she loses her ghost powers, and Misty afterwards has no problem using magic to give Colette bad luck or make lightning strike her.
  • Attempted Homewrecker: She's obsessed with Danny because, unlike Star's previous boyfriends, he's actually faithful to Star, which for Colette, makes him a challenge. She resorts to various schemes, from wearing a skimpy swimsuit at the water park to attempted murder on Star, all in an attempt to win over Danny, who just hates her more and more.
  • Attention Whore: She always has to be the center of attention.
  • Awful Wedded Life: Discussed. Colette's dream of married life with Danny Fenton is her living off her fortune in an even more lavish way while Danny acts more as a trophy/pet to her than a husband, with a nanny taking care of their children. While this would be Colette's dream life movie, it would be a nightmare for Danny as he has been essentially reduced to her slave because she forced him into the relationship, and Colette would not care about being deluded into thinking that she can make Danny love her.
  • Ax-Crazy: She seems to be slowly sinking into this trope, as she becomes more unhinged and even violent over time. "Empowered" brings it out in full.
  • Bad Boss: Not officially, but she is a Rich Bitch and doesn't treat anyone who works for her nicely, to say the least.
    • To say Kwan is miserable "working" for Colette in "Blackmailed" is an understatement as he clearly doesn't want to hurt Team Phantom but Colette is blackmailing him to and insults him at every chance.
  • The Beautiful Elite: She definitely thinks so and won't ever let you forget it.
  • Beauty Breeds Laziness: While Colette is smart enough to do her own schoolwork, she'd rather make Mikey or someone else do it if she can get away with it. Also, when she isn't resorting to bribery, she has no qualms with using her looks to make boys carry out her orders.
  • Beauty Is Bad: Colette is considered a beautiful and popular redheaded French girl at her school, but she is also a spoiled, self-centered, and cruel person that has no problem with hurting people in her way or just to amuse herself.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Averted as Colette sometimes gets visibly injured or otherwise dirty with her hair and clothes ruined whenever she receives karma for her antics in the form of physical pain and/or humiliation.
  • Becoming the Mask: A dark deconstruction of this trope. Colette initially flirted with Danny just to mess with Star. Being rejected by him made her genuinely interested in him and she's been chasing after him since. Her interest eventually develops into an obsession and each story has her sink lower and lower in her quest to obtain Danny as her boyfriend.
  • Being Evil Sucks: To say her nasty attitude is ruining her life is a bit of an understatement. She has no true friends since even the A-Listers are getting sick of her, her infant half-brother vastly prefers Star, she’s made dangerous enemies of Team Phantom, she’s constantly humiliated and punished as a result of her own poorly thought-out schemes, and the only boy she’s ever been genuinely interested in grows to hate her.
  • Belated Child Discipline: From "Stuck" onwards, Stella starts acting like a proper parent by becoming much more active in disciplining her stepdaughter once she becomes aware of Colette's despicable actions and bratty behavior.
  • Believing Their Own Lies: She deludes herself into believing that Danny is just playing hard to get and she has to "rescue" him from Star's hold over him. It's blatantly clear Colette just wants to ruin their relationship out of petty spite and entitlement and put Danny under her own thumb because her ego can’t accept anyone, especially a boy, liking Star more than her. The fact she’s willing to ruin the lives of Danny’s loved ones for her own benefit and warped amusement in “Blackmailed” only further proves she’s nothing but an unhinged yandere Stalker with a Crush.
  • Beneath the Mask: On the surface, she acts like a typical rich, spoiled mean girl. Soon though, we see that underneath her shallow exterior is a very devious, sadistic, and possibly sociopathic girl who takes genuine pleasure in hurting her own step-sister and sees the people around her as either pawns, property or as tools to be used.
  • Berserk Button: She has a lot but here are the most important ones:
    • Being upstaged.
    • Being rejected, much to Danny’s annoyance.
    • Star beating her at anything.
    • Just being told “no” in general.
    • Other girls going near Danny, as Vivian and Misty learn.
    • She doesn’t tolerate anyone keeping Danny away from her, especially not Danny himself.
  • Beware the Superman: She gains powers in "Empowered" and does not hesitate to use them to become a villain. She becomes a dangerous enemy to Team Phantom, starts destroying Amity Park and plans to subjugate the world.
  • Beyond Redemption: Stella deludes herself into believing Colette is a good girl deep down and can be redeemed but the heroes, their loved ones, and even Richard can see her for the manipulative brat she is and hate her guts for it. Thus, they aren't exactly confident in Stella's attempts to correct Colette's awful behavior. Although Penelope Spectra implied Stella is aware of her stepdaughter's sociopathic nature but is in denial about it because of motherly obligations, which is reinforced in "Blackmailed".
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Played With. Team Phantom mainly regard her as a nuisance they’re forced to put up with since she’s just a Spoiled Brat obsessed with stealing Danny. Subverted in “Empowered” where upon gaining ghost powers, she becomes a supervillain hellbent on taking over the world and making Danny her king by force, even if it means getting rid of Star permanently, but she goes back to just being a pest when she loses her powers in the end. Subverted again in “Blackmailed” where she orchestrates a scheme to make Danny all hers by framing his friends and blackmailing him into dating her.
  • Bigot with a Crush: She hates the lower classes but she still pursues Danny as she believes he has the potential to become her ideal husband and her ego can't handle being rejected by a boy in favor of Star.
  • Big Sister Bully: Played With as they are stepsisters and Colette is only two weeks older than Star. Nevertheless, she mockingly refers to Star as her "little sister" and torments her to no end. Colette takes pleasure in causing Star grief by "borrowing" her belongings only to "lose" or damage them, passively-aggressively insulting her at every chance, physically harassing her (to the point of breaking Star's nose once), and (temporarily) taking her boyfriends for herself.
  • Birds of a Feather: Danny and Johnathan point out that she's so similar to Beatrice Traville, it's a surprise they're not actually related, considering Colette is one of the few people who gets along with her. Of course, they don't mean this as a compliment.
  • Bitch Alert: It's clear from the moment she's introduced that she's not the nicest person.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She acts sweet and polite around her parents, but in reality, she is a manipulative and vapid person who messes with her stepsister for her own amusement.
  • Black-and-White Insanity: To Colette, you are either an enemy needing to be defeated, a minion to blindly follow her without question, a tool to be used to her advantage, or a prize to be won.
  • Blue Blood: It's stated that she and her father come from a wealthy, old money family.
  • Blackmail:
    • In "Stuck", she tried to blackmail Danny with the threat of tattling on Star to her parents for her disappearance unless he agreed to date her instead. Thankfully, it backfired on her.
    • In "Blackmailed", she discovers Danny's Secret Identity and blackmails him into being her boyfriend under the threat of revealing it to the world, along with permanently ruining Team Phantom's futures.
  • The Bore: Danny’s annoyed to no end with her when she talks about herself, especially since that’s all she ever talks about.
  • Brains Evil, Brawn Good: While Danny is a superpowered hero, Colette is a Manipulative Bitch who prefers to use her cunning to get her way.
  • Brainless Beauty: Averted. Despite coming off as vapid and shallow as Paulina, Colette is much smarter than most of the A-listers, as she is very cunning, manipulative, and conniving. She also does good in school because she takes her school work seriously and completes her own homework. "Mistaken" even reveals she actually likes reading.
  • Brainy Brunette: She's good at academics and inherited her father's dark hair but prefers to dye it bright red.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: She’s very intelligent and meticulous, but doesn’t care about anything except pampering herself and messing with Star, to the point she’d rather live off her family’s wealth than work. She even pushes her homework onto nerds like Mikey despite being more than smart enough to do it herself.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: Colette is Jean-Luc's spoiled brat of a daughter who likes to take what she wants, whenever she wants. Deconstructed as her parents grow increasingly frustrated by her ever worsening reckless and entitled behavior, which her unhealthy fixation with Danny doesn't help in the slightest.
  • Bright Is Not Good: Her signature outfit consists of a light yellow dress and lots of pearl jewelry. She is also a huge Spoiled Brat and a remorseless bully and Jerkass who is happy to hurt others to get her way.
  • Broken Ace: Colette is a rich, beautiful, popular and intelligent girl who has lots of boys falling at her feet...with the exception of Danny Fenton, her stepsister's boyfriend. She just can't get over the fact that he isn't interested in her due to her ego. Because of that, Colette has become obsessed with Danny to the point where she is willing to do unethical things to steal him away from Star, which has caused her problems and gotten her into big trouble. It's also shown that each rejection she receives from him makes her even more determined to have him at any costs. It's also hinted that Colette's less-than-pleasant traits are due to her own upbringing, as her father is a philandering snob who has had multiple marriages and her biological mother left them when she was young.
  • Brutal Honesty: In “Blackmailed”, she bluntly informs Donovan Loadman that no amount of money would ever make her date someone as unbearably annoying as him and her father would obviously never give her hand in marriage to a “disgraced fool” like him who was disinherited by his family and being made to actually work for a living like a “peasant”.
  • Bullying a Dragon: She continues her attempts to bully and harass Star, even after Star has proven that she is capable of fighting back, including physically.
  • But Not Too Challenging: She's obsessed with stealing Danny from Star because, unlike Star's previous boyfriends, he is actually faithful to her, which in Colette's mind makes him more of a challenge. At the same time, she's willing to resort to underhanded actions such as blackmail and attempted murder, showing that she's ultimately more interested in the idea of a challenge and can't stand the idea of a guy actually rejecting her.
  • Canon Foreigner: She was created for this series of fanfics.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: She knows she’s a bad person and revels in it. In “Blackmailed”, she’s flattered when Danny calls her “despicable” for blackmailing him and plans to make him as cruel as her if he becomes her boyfriend.
  • Casanova Wannabe: A Rare Female Example towards Danny. All of Colette's attempts to seduce him do nothing but make him hate and avoid her because of her snooty attitude, inability to handle rejection, and refusal to accept that he loves Star. Even when Danny had amnesia, he still wasn't attracted to her and eventually decided he wanted nothing to do with her anymore.
  • Challenge Seeker: She greatly looks forward to winning over Danny and molding him into her idea of the perfect gentleman, seeing it as a test.
  • Childish Older Sibling: She's the eldest child of the Bevier family but is ironically the least mature, even when compared to her infant half-brother Pierre, given her nature as a spoiled, Psychopathic Womanchild.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: She has no true loyalty or attachment to anyone but herself and maybe her biological parents.
  • Classic Villain: Has the vices of Pride, Wrath, Greed, Envy, and Lust.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Towards Danny, as Colette is deeply jealous of his relationship with Star and does anything so that she can have him all to herself. She also gets aggressive and hostile if any other girl shows interest in Danny, such as Vivian or Misty, being quick to insult, intimidate, and even pick a fight with them.
  • Cloudcuckoolander
  • Comically Missing the Point: After meeting Danny Phantom in person for the first time, Colette realizes how oddly similar he is to the Danny she has a crush on. She comes to the conclusion that... they must be relatives... before dismissing the idea all together.
  • Condescending Compassion: This seems to be only kind of compassion Colette seems capable of having. Her offer to "save" Danny from in her words "a life of mediocrity" basically amounts to bribery and manipulation to force him to convert to her superficial lifestyle and live as a submissive spouse to her.
  • Consummate Liar: Arguably one of her biggest tools, it's practically second nature for Colette to distort a record in her favor, which has allowed her to get away with her behavior and sweep the truth under the rug for years. In "Blackmailed", her interactions with her mother and former stepmothers are dripping with this, as she carefully crafts and maintains twisted narratives opposed to what Jean-Luc and Stella know or believe to continue making herself look like an innocent victim even when her guardians and "friends" start to see through her facade, ensuring she still has an unwitting support network.
  • Control Freak: Everything has to be by her word, even her boyfriends. Anything that goes off the rails enrages her.
  • The Corrupter:
    • Her treatment of Star is one of the many reasons the latter became a mean girl in the first place.
    • She also wants to be this to Danny, intending to turn him to her way of thinking to make him a better match for herself.
  • Creepy Child: People who are aware of her disturbing fixation with Danny see her as creepy and needing help. In fact, Star states that her bossy, bullying, and manipulative behaviour has been apparent for at least as long as she has known her (from the age of 11).
  • Cunning Linguist: She's fluent in French, English, Swedish, and Italian.
  • Cursed with Awesome: She temporarily gets ghost powers in “Empowered” that go completely to her already swollen head so she decides to become a supervillain out to take over the world and claim Danny by force, even if it means getting rid of Star forever. She also learns that one downside of having ghost powers is they make you hungrier the more you use them, which Star uses to her advantage at one point.
  • Daddy's Girl: Jean-Luc dotes on her and lavishes her with anything she wants.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates:
    • Subverted since Danny can't stand her, but Colette has a crush on him, while her father believes Danny is beneath her.
    • Also an inverted example where the person is not even dating their attended. Colette hates Danny's parents, viewing them as ghost-hunting freaks, and plans to cut them out of his life if she and Danny marry, move to Paris, and have children. This feeling is completely mutual, since having heard about Colette from Star and Danny and seen what a two-faced brat she is (though admittedly, the Fentons have not seen the worst of her behavior), Jack and Maddie detest her.
  • Deadlier Than The Male: She's an even worse person than her snobby father, the Jerk Jocks at Casper High, or any of Team Phantom's male enemies as she doesn't care how low she has to sink to get what she wants.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype:
    • Of the Alpha Bitch. Her arrogance and conceited nature are the results of a dangerously narcissistic mindset that drives her to endanger and injure others to get what she wants. In a reversal of the usual trope, she hits on the main protagonist, but she treats him less as of a person she ought to care for and more as an object she must possess. Her attitude gets so bad that even her father and stepmother get sick of her vain and wasteful ways.
    • Also of the Spoiled Brat, Proud Beauty, and Serial Homewrecker. She’s used to getting her own way and being adored by boys for her beauty (to the point she can easily steal other girls' boyfriends), but the very concept of a boy who has no interest in her makes her go ballistic as it’s a serious blow to her ego. She becomes obsessed with stealing Danny from Star for being the first guy to reject her, and her growing fixation only deepens his hatred for her and makes everyone realize how deeply disturbed she is.
    • Of the Abhorrent Admirer, Attention Whore, Entitled Bitch, and The Unfettered. Colette's obsessive need for attention, desire to always beat Star, and entitlement issues cause her to fixate on stealing her stepsister's boyfriend Danny because his faithfulness to Star makes him completely immune to Colette's charms while she only views his rejection as a "challenge". Her utter lack of scruples only fuels Danny and Team Phantom's hatred of her since she's fine with hurting them to get what she wants. Everybody else gets so disturbed by her unhealthy obsession with Danny and ruining Star's life that Team Phantom is trying to get a restraining order against her, the A-Listers are seriously considering kicking her out of their clique, and even her overindulging parents contemplate seeking professional help for her like therapy or boarding school.
    • Of the Token Evil Teammate because while the A-Listers aren’t nice people, they’re ultimately just a bunch of spoiled bullies while Colette is a budding sociopath with a creepy obsession with Danny and zero moral restraints. By the time of “Blackmailed”, the A-Listers have become so disturbed by her growing fixation with Danny that they don’t want to be involved anymore in her schemes to steal him from Star and even consider kicking her out of the group if she keeps this up, especially if they find out that she’s resorted to illegal tactics, in which case they’ll gladly turn her over to the police if they have evidence since they don’t want to be associated with a crook.
  • Determined Defeatist: No amount of pain, humiliation, or rejections will stop her from trying to claim Danny to ruin Star's life.
  • Detrimental Determination: Her obsessive attempts to steal Danny away from Star are ruining her own life as Colette has wasted money on progressively insane schemes and suffered Sanity Slippages when they fail, faced public humiliation, and made hated enemies in Team Phantom, Misty, and even Danny Phantom's rogues gallery. She also begins losing her popularity and her doting parents' trust as everyone grows increasingly disgusted with her behavior; the A-Listers want to kick her out of their clique because they’re scared of what she’ll do to get Danny while her parents keep revoking her privileges as punishment and want to get her therapy or send her to boarding school to deal with her issues.
  • Dirty Coward: Prioritizes her safety to the point of letting someone else get harmed.
    • In Bonding, she uses Sam as a human shield, claiming that being a vegan would make her better to eat for the tiger ghost.
    • In Forgotten, she abandons an amnesiac Danny to Johnny 13, acting like she did nothing remotely wrong when she finds him again.
    • In Dressed, she pushes Paulina in front of her and tries to convince Spectra to hurt her instead. Paulina is quick to return the favor.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Another one of her MOs is to severely lash out over perceived slights, which usually boil down to a refusal to give her what she wants and/or fall in line with her commands. Notably, she designates Star, the Fentons, and Team Phantom as her enemies because of them ostensibly coming in between her and Danny. In "Blackmailed", she finally has enough and plots to ruin their lives by framing Team Phantom to get them expelled, then forcing Danny to dump Star and stay away from his friends and family.
  • Domestic Abuser: When she forces Danny to be her boyfriend in "Blackmailed", she treats him only as property and is creepily possessive and controlling of him. She snaps at Danny every time he displeases her and threatens him into obeying her by promising to punish his friends if he doesn't follow her commands, like cutting his loved ones out of his life. Jazz flat-out says what Colette is doing to Danny is "a textbook case of domestic abuse", as it's a common tactic by abusers to isolate their victims to make them easier to control.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Strongly averted. Colette's treatment of Danny is portrayed realistically as the product of a selfish, deranged, and obsessive individual who doesn't love or care about him, and can actually pose a threat to him and anyone close to him. The only reasons she hasn't faced more serious or legal consequences are her indulgent parents and a lack of solid proof for her most deplorable deeds.
  • Drama Queen: The biggest example in fanfic verse. Even Paulina is tamer than her.
  • The Dreaded: By the time of “Blackmailed”, Colette is this to everyone that’s aware of her awful personality to the point Team Phantom and even the A-Listers want her gone because they’re afraid of what she’ll do to get what she wants, especially if it involves Danny, since they’d gladly turn her in to the police if they had evidence that she’s resorted to criminal acts.
  • Driven by Envy: It's heavily implied that Colette's cruel actions towards Star are largely out of envy.
  • Drunk on the Dark Side: It didn't take long for this to happen after she temporarily got ghost powers, as she quickly goes on a power trip and proclaims herself a god.
  • Dude Magnet: Most boys find her attractive, which she knows and flaunts it.
  • Dye Hard: Colette dyed her hair a bright red, as opposed to the brown hair her father has. The narration made it clear her hair is supposed to be like her father's, which a flashback in "Unprepared" confirmed.
  • Enraged by Idiocy: While she's fine with using the A-Listers to acquire perks and benefits for herself, it doesn't stop her from voicing her disdain of them for their stupidity, especially Dash and Paulina.
  • Entitled Bitch: She believes that she actually deserves to have everything that she wants, even if they belong to someone else.
  • Entitled to Have You: In regards to her "relationship" with Danny. Colette arrogantly believes that Danny should be with her to the point that she wants to be married to him in the future. Colette ignores that Danny is in a relationship with her stepsister, Star, confident that she can steal him the same way she stole Star's past boyfriends. Even when that fails and Danny makes it clear he loves Star and hates her, Colette still convinces herself that can seduce Danny away from her stepsister.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: Gender-Inverted. Her father and stepmother appear to be the only people she genuinely respects, though not to the point where she won't go behind their backs in an attempt to claim Danny. Eventually subverted with Stella as it becomes clear Colette is only nice to her in order to keep being spoiled by her and her father. However, Colette seems to really care about her biological mother despite her resentment towards the latter.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Her biological parents Jean-Luc and Suzette are the only people Colette genuinely respects and cares about (in her own way). Although she's not above manipulating them or going behind their backs.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • She might hang out with Dash and exploit him for her schemes, but she honestly thinks he's an idiot and barely hides how much she can't stand him.
    • In a similar vein, she is dismissive of Paulina for being a ditz obsessed with Danny Phantom.
    • She's willing to bribe, blackmail, deceive, threaten, manipulate, and even frame people to get what she wants but won't resort to murder.
    • Even she finds Donovan Loadman completely annoying regardless of his family's wealth.
  • Evil All Along: While she was already a Rich Bitch and Big Sister Bully, it was hinted Colette at least cared about Stella to a degree as a parental figure. "Blackmailed" reveals that she NEVER cared about Stella or any of her previous stepmothers, and just uses them as a means to an end.
  • Evil Redhead: Though she just dyes her hair to be that shade, she's definitely growing to be outright evil.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good:
    • She's unable to understand why an amnesiac Danny still refuses to go along with her way of doing things despite having no memory of how things really are between them. It honestly eludes her that Danny actually has a moral compass while she generally doesn't.
    • The very concept of helping or just being nice to people is utterly alien to Colette, who can't fathom why anyone would use their money for philanthropy, especially without getting anything in return, since she only views wealth and privilege as a means for one to help themselves.
    • She's incapable of grasping what genuine love is and believes that Danny only dates Star because she's controlling him and that he only hangs out with Team Phantom so he can use them, since that is why Colette hangs out with the A-Listers and makes sure to stay on good terms with her stepmothers.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Star. Both are daughters to wealthy, divorced men and both have/had a Missing Mom. In a way, Colette is what Star would be like if she never had any Character Development or without her redeeming qualities.
  • Evil Is Petty: Colette is a spoiled, selfish girl who bullies Star and has a habit of stealing her boyfriends for no other reason than because it amuses her. She originally hit on Danny for these very reasons but after he rejects her advances, Colette becomes obsessed with him. Her obsession with Danny is mostly because he's the first boy she met who is not taken in by her and his rejection only makes her even more determined to have him at any cost.
    • If Colette does marry Danny, she'd only invite Star to their wedding just to rub it in her face.
    • She prefers to kiss Danny when Star is watching.
  • Eviler than Thou: Colette Bevier has proven herself throughout the series to be even crueler than the popular kids at Casper High and more dangerous than the ghosts that terrorize the city.
    • Like Paulina Sanchez, she's a beautiful, popular, upper-class bully who looks down on nerds and lower-class people, hurts and humiliates her peers, and is fixated on a boy who would've liked her if it wasn't for her rotten personality. Unlike Paulina, Colette is ruthless and sociopathic enough to resort to increasingly criminal methods to get what she wants, especially claiming the boy she's obsessed with, even if it means endangering lives, making Paulina seem like a Nice Girl by comparison; as selfish, uncaring, and obsessed with "her" ghost boy as Paulina is, she would never go that far to achieve her goals. Colette is ultimately more spoiled, selfish, callous, and entitled than all of the A-Listers put together, as they are ultimately just lazy, shallow, and bratty bullies who think they're above the rules. It's telling that Danny, who has gotten over his feelings for Paulina and is annoyed by her obsession with his superhero self, just considers her a nuisance but has developed a genuine hatred for Colette due to her stalkerish pursuit of him and disregard for his loved ones. He desperately wants Colette out of his life for good, not caring what it would take.
    • Team Phantom acknowledges that Colette is a MUCH worse person than her father, Jean-Luc, because she's actually evil instead of just being a classist snob.
    • Even Johnny 13, the Ghost Writer, Penelope Spectra, Misty Smith-Yang, Skulker, and Ember McLain—all of whom have powers of some sort and arguably pose a bigger threat to the heroes—are appalled by the sheer scope of her hateful, egoistic, obsessive, cowardly, and basically insane behavior.
      • In “Empowered”, Misty only had to meet Colette once to immediately hate her FAR more than she ever did Star for being an elitist Spoiled Brat that constantly insults her. Her hatred only grows when Misty is forced to team up with Team Phantom to save Amity Park after she accidentally empowers Colette and realizes just how much megalomania she's capable of, making her genuinely sympathetic towards Star for having to deal with a stepsister like her.
    • This is especially prominent in "Blackmailed," where Colette tries to get Team Phantom expelled and blackmails Danny into being her boyfriend. Paulina and the A-Listers, who are already sick of her obsession with Danny, correctly suspect she's now using criminal means to break him and Star up, prompting them to decide that if they get any evidence of her deeds, they'll turn her in because they don't want a criminal in their group. Even Danny's ghostly enemies know of Colette's reputation as an irredeemable harpy and express nothing but disgust towards her actions. Two of them, Skulker and Ember, even agree to help take Colette down partly because they feel that she has crossed a line trying to ruin Team Phantom's lives.
  • Expy:
    • Of Amanda Killman from Bunsen Is a Beast by virtue of being a mean girl who delights in tormenting the main characters for fun and has a crush on the hero (who does not reciprocate in the slightest), as well as being a frequent victim of slapstick as a result of her own poorly thought-out evil schemes backfiring on her.
    • Of Chloé Bourgeois from Miraculous Ladybug, as a spoiled Parisian bully who harasses the main heroine and is rivals with her to win the affections of the same guy.
  • False Friend:
    • With Paulina. While they have a lot in common and put on a united front with the A-listers, it's clear they largely "befriended" each other for their social standing and to spite Star, as they only seem to get along when they're bullying her. In fact, Colette and Paulina secretly despise each other, always trying to one-up the other and being quick to turn on their new "best friend" when things go wrong.
    • She's this to the A-Listers in general, even considering their standard "friendships", since Colette only regards them as potential minions rather than just a clique to improve her standing in the school's hierarchy and barely bothers to care about typical A-Lister "business" unless it concerns her plans. It's telling that once the A-Listers refuse to let her continue dragging them into her ill-fated schemes to steal Danny, she begins to stop actively associating with them altogether, not seeming to know or care that they plan to kick her out of the group.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: She’s a very lovely girl but underneath her beauty lies a narcissistic sociopath who doesn’t care who she has to manipulate or step on to get what she wants. Even Manipulative Bitch Penelope Spectra regards Colette as a potential sociopath.
  • Fatal Flaw: She's vain, prideful and selfish. If there's something or someone she wants, she'll get it, especially if it will bother Star. By adding Danny to the list of things she wants, she's ironically made more enemies than friends.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Team Phantom easily sees her for the scheming brat she is through her insincere innocent and charming girl act. Danny even describes her as "sweet as spoiled milk".
  • Fille Fatale: She’ll resort to any means to get what she wants, including using her pretty face to string along boys, which she has been doing to take Star’s boyfriends from her for years. Deconstructed as this attitude only fuels the hatred of the one boy she is genuinely interested in since Danny can’t stand Colette for being petty enough to ruin people’s relationships and manipulate them just for her own sick amusement.
  • Foil:
    • To Paulina. Paulina is a Hispanic girl born in Amity Park who has a crush on Danny Phantom and used to be friends with Star while Colette is a French girl who has a crush on Danny Fenton and has never gotten along with Star. Paulina is a Brainless Beauty while Colette is both academically and socially intelligent.
    • To Sam. Both girls are in love with Danny and rivals with Star for his affection who resorted to stalking the couple. However, Sam is in denial about it while Colette is honest about her desire. Also, Colette is Star's stepsister who wants to steal Danny from her purely to satiate her own ego and refuses to let up. Sam is Danny's childhood friend who genuinely cares about him and eventually accepts they're not meant to be, forming a truce with Star.
    • Colette is practically the anti-Danny Fenton since they're polar opposites in every way. Both of them are teenagers from atypical families (Danny's being ghost hunters and Colette coming from Old Money), are close with their fathers, have had an impactful influence on Star's life, received ghost powers at one point, developed a crush on someone who didn't feel the same way, and hate the A-Listers. Danny is a social outcast while Colette is popular. Danny's parents are Happily Married while Colette's parents went through a very ugly divorce. Danny is middle-class while Colette is a Blue Blood. Danny is a Nice Guy while Colette is an Alpha Bitch. Danny wears mundane clothes while Colette always sports a gussy and over-priced yellow dress. Danny didn't get along with Star at first due to her unpleasant attitude but grew to care about her as a friend, and later romantically after recognizing her positive traits while Colette has hated Star since the beginning despite her attempts to be friendly and has made it her mission to ruin Star's life, thus making them bitter enemies. Danny has been a Positive Friend Influence on Star as his compassion and understanding helped bring out her caring side while Colette was The Corrupter who helped turn Star into the Beta Bitch she used to be through her bullying. Danny has a Big Brother Instinct toward his siblings while Colette ignores her siblings at best and is a Big Sister Bully at worst. Danny moved on from his one-sided crush on Paulina after realizing she's not worth it while Colette has only become more obsessed with Danny thanks to his repeated rejections. Danny is The Fettered as he has lines he won't cross while Colette is The Unfettered as she doesn't care who she has to hurt for the sake of her desires. Danny genuinely loves his friends and family while Colette only feigns affection and kindness toward her family and others to manipulate them into giving her what she wants. Danny uses his ghost powers to protect people while Colette used hers to terrorize Amity Park.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The lazy and immature Foolish Sibling to her stepsister Star’s hardworking and mature Responsible Sibling. Even Colette’s father Jean-Luc trusts Star more to babysit Pierre than her.
  • Forceful Kiss: She's fond of giving these to Danny, much to his horror and disgust. When she gives one to him as Danny Phantom in "Empowered", just to annoy Starlight Spirit, he's so repulsed he furiously cleans his mouth.
  • French Jerk: She's an Alpha Bitch and Spoiled Brat from a French family who lived in Paris. Sam outright calls her "a walking French stereotype with a cheap dye job".
  • Freudian Excuse: It's implied that her nasty attitude stems from her mother leaving them, her father spoiling her, and his constant remarriages.
    • This was confirmed in "Blackmailed", where it's revealed that she keeps in contact with her biological mother and stepmothers to manipulate them. It is revealed that she both resents her mother for spending so much time on her charity projects and misses her because she prioritizes those projects over spending time with her. Despite refusing to admit it, it is clear that she was affected by her departure.
    • It is also later revealed that she kept in contact with each of her former stepmothers to use them for her plans, and she plays the part of the loving daughter to them while rejecting their attempts to make her into a better person.
      • It's implied that she has no real attachment to any of her stepmothers because she knows that their marriage to her father will never last.
    • It's also implied that her father negatively influenced her growing up, teaching her that her wealth and status made her "better" than others.
      • It heavily implied that she is the way she is because of a mix of her father's negative influence, her mother's departure and neglect, and her father's remarriages and implied infidelity, which warped her greatly and left her with a twisted view of the world and relationships.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Dash points out to her in "Golden" that she's becoming this to the A-Listers as they're increasingly disturbed by her unhealthy obsession with Danny to the point she's losing her popularity, the A-Listers don't want to get involved in her schemes to break up Star and Danny anymore, and Dash and Kwan have completely lost interest in her. She's especially this to Paulina and Kwan as the former never liked Colette to begin with while the latter comes to dislike her more and more overtime after seeing her awful attitude underneath her beauty, to the point he utterly hates her after realizing just how despicable she is in "Blackmailed".
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: She was already a hateful Spoiled Brat, but in "Empowered", she gains superpowers and becomes much, much worse.
  • The Gadfly: She’s prone to trying to steal Star's boyfriends just for kicks and originally flirted with Danny just to annoy her because of Star's obvious feelings for him.
  • Generation Xerox: She and her father are a lot alike in terms of personality. Both are shallow, vain, snobbish and have little to no regards for other people. They are also not above taking an already committed lover for their own as Jean-Luc had seduced the then-married Stella into running away with him, while Colette is currently plotting to steal Danny away from Star.
  • The Gentleman or the Scoundrel: Played with and deconstructed. She only has eyes for the modest Nice Guy Danny Fenton (Gentleman) and utterly despises the Jerk Jock Dash Baxter and Spoiled Brat Donovan Loadman (Scoundrel). However, she couldn’t care less about who Danny is as she is only pursuing him to get one over Star and would rather mold him into someone who’s as bad as herself to make him a better partner.
  • Give Geeks a Chance: Danny isn't exactly Mr. Popularity but Colette still has a crush on him. Even finding out about his unpopularity is not enough for her to leave him alone.
  • The Glorious War of Sisterly Rivalry: Taken to extremes with her stepsister Star. Star is the smart, considerate, down-to-Earth stepsister while Colette is the spoiled, self-absorbed, popular stepsister. While Colette is more clever than the usual pretty popular girl, and Star herself used to be a popular girl, they clash in almost violet extremes.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: She and Star have been competing since they were kids over toys, fashion, and most recently, boys. Now Colette is competing for Danny's love, as both have a huge crush on him. However, he prefers Star.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: It takes very little to provoke this unpleasant Spoiled Brat, just telling her “no” makes her fly into a rage. Danny’s constant rejections and her own Not Good with Rejection mindset certainly haven't done her temper any favors.
  • Handsome Lech: A Rare Female Example. She's very beautiful and can get the attention of any boy she comes across except for the only one she's actually interested in because he's repulsed by her personality.
  • Has a Type: She claims that she finds Danny "fascinating" and it is part of the reason for her attraction to him. In fact, she only displays serious interest in boys she considers a “challenge”, like Danny, who is the only guy who ever refuse her advances. Deconstructed as this causes her to develop an unhealthy obsession with him as a result and she vows to steal Danny away from Star by any means necessary, even to the point of mentioning that she hopes to marry him one day.
  • Hate at First Sight: Star, Danny, Sam, and Misty have hated Colette since the moment they first met her after seeing how much of a horrible brat she is. Their hatred only grows with time after seeing how low she's willing to stoop to get what she wants. This is completely mutual (with the exception of Danny), as Colette began bullying Star not long after they were introduced to each other as kids, and came to despise Sam and Misty for either getting in her way or just annoying her (from Colette's point of view, anyway).
  • Hate Sink: Star considers her even worse than Paulina and for very good reason. Colette exemplifies every negative aspect of spoiled brats and each story only depicts her as even worse. She's not only rude, conceited and arrogant, she's also spiteful and willing to ruin people's lives and good time to get something she wants.
  • Hates Their Parent: She never cared about any of her stepmoms unless they could fulfill her materialistic needs. Downplayed with her biological mother Suzette, who Colette does love but resents for putting work before family.
  • Hated by All: She's disliked by practically everyone who gets to know her true ugly personality, even Danny’s enemies. The A-Listers also come to regard her as this since her disturbing fixation with Danny is making her lose her popularity, with them growing increasingly creeped out by the lengths she’ll go to just to steal him from Star, to the point they no longer wish to help her with her schemes regardless of how much she pays or manipulates them. Even her overindulging parents are losing their patience with her obsession to the point they’re considering getting her professional help or sending her to boarding school.
  • Haughty "Hmph": She has a habit of doing this, especially when she's acting even more arrogant than usual.
  • Her Own Worst Enemy: Her impulsive desire to get whatever or whomever she wants causes her to take drastic actions that are at best a nuisance or at worst disregarding other people's safety and boundaries. Since she can never leave Star and Danny alone, not only do her plans fail, but they continue to get her in trouble or make her suffer some kind of injury or humiliation. She refuses to back down or recognize her own poor actions, which only brings even more pain and misery to her.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Despite having a pretty exterior and a vain personality, Colette is far more clever than she appears to be. She was able to concoct a scheme to blackmail Danny into leaving Star for her and deduce Star is Starlight Spirit until being convinced otherwise.
    • As vapid and shallow as Colette is, she has some standards when it comes to men and looks for more than just money in a potential husband, as she vastly prefers the middle-class Nice Guy Danny Fenton over the wealthy Jerkass Donovan Loadman even when he was his father's heir.
    • She is fluent in Swedish and Italian, having learned them while her father was married to her second and third stepmother, respectively
  • Hidden Disdain Reveal:
    • In "Forgotten", it's revealed she despises the A-Listers and only joined them for the status and perks at school, as she sees them as beneath her and has no problem blackmailing them into letting Danny join.
    • In "Blackmailed", she confirms she never cared about Stella or any of her former stepmoms and only acted nice to them so they'd spoil her.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Despite her good looks, she has no chance with Danny due to his interest in Star and the fact that he finds her obnoxious.
  • Humans Are the Real Monsters: In a story that involves evil ghosts, jiangshi, jealous sorcerers, and all kinds of supervillains, Colette is easily one of the most hated characters due to being a Spoiled Brat, Narcissist, Serial Homewrecker and basically a psychopath in the making, as well as an obsessive stalker to a guy who has repeatedly rebuffed her. Her brief experience with ghost powers shows that she is willing to go much farther if she could.
  • Hypocrite:
    • For someone who looks down on lower classes as "peasants", it doesn't stop her from obsessively wanting to date a middle-class boy like Danny.
    • Also, for a girl who casually dumps and rejects guys at the drop of a hat, she sure can't stand it when someone does either to her.
    • She hates guys like Dash and Mikey who can't take a hint that she's not interested in them, but she's fine with harassing Danny regardless of how many times he tells her to her face that he hates her and will never leave Star.
    • She repeatedly claims to want to "free" Danny from Star's grasp on him, but it's clear Colette just wants to put him under her thumb since she's far more controlling and possessive of Danny than Star ever was.
    • She finds Paulina’s one-sided fixation with Danny Phantom to be annoying and pathetic, but fails to notice that her own one-sided obsession with his human-self is MUCH worse.
    • In “Forgotten”, she accuses Star of insisting that people use her nickname out of some conceited belief that she’s the center of the universe.
    • In “Empowered”, she accuses Misty of stalking Danny when they encounter each other at the flea market while they’re both stalking him.
    • For all her claims of “loving” Danny, she ultimately only cares about herself since she’s fine with abandoning, harassing, manipulating, blackmailing, threatening, and abusing him for her own gain.
    • She despises Donovan Loadman for being an obnoxious Spoiled Brat that can’t take no for answer but isn’t aware that she’s not much better than he is.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point:
    • Despite her obliviousness to her own hypocrisy, Colette is right that Paulina is pathetic for single-mindedly chasing after Danny Phantom, especially since he had no interest in her even before he started dating Starlight Spirit. Plus, from Colette's point of view, the ghost boy is even more unattainable for Paulina than Danny Fenton is for her.
    • While Colette is a much worse Abhorrent Admirer and stalker to Danny than Misty ever was, she is correct that Misty is still a stalker to Danny.
    • While she’s just as much of a brat as Donovan Loadman, her criticisms about him being an irritating pest that doesn’t even have his family’s wealth going for him anymore are 100% accurate.
  • I Can Change My Beloved: While she is interested in Danny, Colette also wants to change him into a preferable boyfriend.
  • Idiot Ball: She is stated to be smarter than the A-listers and actually gets good grades on her own merit. However, her rationality seems to fly out the window whenever Danny and Star are involved. Her attempts to break them up vary from scheming plots to outright pestering the both of them, which results in her either facing humiliation or physical pain, and yet she refuses to give up.
  • Idle Rich: She openly admits she plans on going back to France and sponging off her family's fortune without having to work a day in her life.
  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: Deconstructed. Originally, Colette hit on Danny to mess with Star, but his rejection made her like him. Now she wants to be with Danny, even voicing a desire to MARRY him in the future. However, while Colette likes Danny because he is different from the other guys she dated, she does not truly regard him as a person. Rather, she sees Danny as a challenge and a trophy to win, aiming to seduce and make him into what she wants as her boyfriend. It's clear that his repeated rejection of her has caused Colette to become fixated with Danny to the point where she is willing to do unethical things to steal him away from Star.
  • Imaginary Love Triangle: She thinks Danny is her soulmate and plots to steal him from Star no matter how many times he makes it clear he never had any interest in her.
  • Informed Deformity: According to Dr. Sampson, Colette is 7 lbs. underweight due to being too diet-conscious. Her parents begin working to remedy this, much to her dismay.
  • In Love with Love: Colette has a crush on Danny but it's clear that her feelings are mostly an obsession because he is the first boy to reject her advances. She actually hopes to marry him one day and doesn't seem to care that he doesn't want anything to do with her. Colette even has at least one picture of Danny that she doctored to look like a wedding photo.
  • Insane Troll Logic: She actually seems to think that her attempts to harass Danny and Star, and break them up, will eventually make Danny want to date her. She cannot grasp that these very acts are just making Danny want her to stay away from him even more.
  • Insecure Protagonist, Arrogant Antagonist: Danny is a dedicated, well-meaning superhero who dealt with some personal conflicts while Colette is a vain Alpha Bitch who’s even more narcissistic than Vlad and Paulina combined.
  • I Reject Your Reality: As far as she is concerned, Danny is her soulmate and nothing can convince her otherwise.
  • Irrational Hatred: She has hated Star ever since they first met as 11-year-olds and has bullied and belittled her ever since. A flashback in "Unprepared" shows that Star never did anything to provoke Colette and actually tried to get along with her at first, but Colette continued to be mean to her for no apparent reason. Even Colette's pursuit of Danny stems from this, as her antics are less about her having any real feelings for him and more because he's just one more thing for her to take away from Star.
  • Irony: She ignores boys that pine for her attention but obsesses over Danny because he’s not interested in her at all.
  • It Amused Me: She likes to harass or humiliate Star for her own twisted amusement.
  • It's All About Me: To Colette, everyone and everything is beneath her or all hers. She is very shallow, self-centered, and even her feelings for Danny are not love in the slightest, as Colette only wants him because he rejected her and she enjoys the "challenge" he provides her.
  • It Must Be Mine!: She refuses to go after any guy aside from Danny, mostly to spite Star and to stroke her own ego.
  • Jerkass: Something the Bevier father and daughter have in common. Jean-Luc is a pompous jerk to anyone not attractive in a skirt, while Colette is a two-faced spoiled brat who makes hidden insults towards Star.
  • Jerkass at Your Discretion: Usually, Colette only shows her true colors around those she feels she can get away with mistreating, such as her stepsister. She pretends to be a well-behaved girl around her parents or authority figures.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • She does notice that Star cares for Danny as more than just a friend in “Lost”. Star’s extremely protective attitude towards him was a dead giveaway.
    • The only thing Danny and Jazz agree with her on is Dash is a moron who won't amount to anything.
    • Colette knows Stella is wasting her time trying to get the former and Star to get along since they hate each other too much for that to ever happen.
    • Snobbish reasons aside, her disdain for Amity Park isn’t unjustified given the frequent ghost attacks that occur there.
    • She finds Kwan just as pathetic as Star does because of his subservience to the A-Listers.
  • Jerkass to One: She is already very snobby and rude in general, but Star is the one whom Colette is a jerk to the most.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: After spending years acting innocent in Stella's presence to avoid punishment, Colette is finally caught lying in "Stuck" and is punished.
  • Karmic Butt-Monkey: With each story, she goes through increasingly humiliating experiences or misfortunes that result in characters mocking her in-universe, especially when ghosts get involved. Given what all the other tropes about her show, it's clear the audience is not meant to sympathize with her at all.
  • Kick the Dog: In “Blackmailed”, she insults Stella and Pierre to Danny’s face, and they’re the only members of the Bevier family he doesn’t hate.
  • Kidanova: She’s been stealing Star’s boyfriends since they were preteens but always dumps them when she grows bored of them. Danny is the sole exception as Colette plans to keep him and his constant rejections make her obsessed with marrying him someday.
  • Knight of Cerebus: While Colette has some comical moments, like when karma catches up to her, they do nothing to detract from the fact she's a rotten Spoiled Brat who has made it a hobby to make her stepsister Star miserable just for laughs since the minute they met through bullying her or stealing her boyfriends. Danny being the only exception has turned Colette into a Stalker with a Crush toward him. She's at her worst in "Empowered," where she gets ghost powers and plots to take over the world, destroy Star, and make Danny her's by force, and "Blackmailed," where she's willing to ruin Team Phantom's lives by framing them for crimes and blackmail Danny into dating her and emancipating himself from his family.
  • Lack of Empathy: For a teenage girl, she has shockingly little concern for the well-being or condition of other people, regardless if they're her stepfamily or even the boy she's attracted to. Star even says Colette "hates everyone but her dad and money".
  • Ladykiller in Love: A rare Gender-Inverted example and deconstructed. Colette is so used to boys throwing themselves at her feet that she becomes livid when a guy rejects her for the first time since it’s a serious blow to her overinflated ego, especially since said guy, Danny, vastly prefers her stepsister Star. Colette becomes obsessed with stealing Danny like she did with Star’s past boyfriends, only to be met with failure every time due to his devotion towards Star. This makes her resort to extremely underhanded and illegal tactics to get Danny, including stalking, spying, harassment, manipulation, blackmail, and threats.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Colette occasionally faces consequences for her actions.
    • In Lost, both she and her father end up drenched with water from a fire hydrant that Cujo damaged.
    • In Stuck, after she was caught by Stella in a lie, Colette gets grounded for a month.
    • In Swapped, both she and Paulina end up caught in their attempts to break Danny and Star up and Colette's grounding is extended.
    • In Forgotten, her attempts to make Danny think they're a couple fall apart, causing him to "dump" Colette and her to end up passing out from shock at the sight of a tiger costume. Danny and Team Phantom later get revenge on her by altering her shampoo, resulting in her getting green hair and humiliated in front of the entire school.
    • In Cursed, her room gets destroyed during a fight between Danny Phantom and the Ghost Writer, and she later falls into a mud puddle while being chased by the latter, which Paulina gets a picture of for everyone at school to see. To top it off, her and Paulina's new plan to break Danny and Star up is exposed and Colette is once again grounded for a month, before finding out that her Stalker Shrine of Danny has been vandalized.
    • In Dressed, all of her attempts to sabotage Star in the Miss Teen Amity Park pageant fail and Valerie Gray wins instead. She and Paulina are then disqualified after they get into a Catfight, with Colette also assaulting a security guard escorting her away. As a result, even her doting father loses patience with her, grounding Colette indefinitely.
  • Lazy Bum: She admits that she has no plans to ever work in her life and will just live off her family's fortune. Also, despite being smart enough to do her own homework, she prefers to get nerds like Mikey to do it for her.
  • Light Is Not Good: When Misty ends up granting her ghost powers, Colette fires bright red Hand Blasts and has a glowing white aura. She also seeks to become a megalomaniacal supervillain hellbent on taking over the world and making Danny hers by any means necessary.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: Zigzagged. She’s rotten to the core but unlike Team Phantom’s other enemies, she’s just a Spoiled Brat that has no interest in destroying them nor does she have any plans for Amity Park as she only cares about taking Danny from Star for herself. That said, she’s not above evil since she proved in “Empowered” that she’s capable of FAR worse supervillainy when her newfound ghost powers quickly drive her insane and she becomes a threat to both Team Phantom and the city.
  • Likes Clark Kent, Hates Superman: Downplayed. She's obsessed with Danny Fenton but doesn't really care about Danny Phantom until she learns they're the same in "Blackmailed". The obsession remains.
  • Like Mother, Unlike Daughter: Her biological mother Suzette is everything she's not: kind, generous, and genuinely charming.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: She has no true friends and her mother is always away doing charity work while her father focuses on his business and social climbing. Her stepmothers try to be more involved, but always end up eventually leaving.
  • Loners Are Freaks: It’s clear her lack of true friends is a result of her snobby, anti-social, and just plain insane sociopathic behavior.
  • Loners Will Stay Alone: She has no real friends because nobody is willing to put up with her irredeemably awful personality.
  • Love Makes You Evil: While Colette was already a Spoiled Brat and a Big Sister Bully to Star, she becomes even worse after deciding she wants Danny for herself. She has resorted to flirting, manipulation, stalking, attempts at sabotage, blackmail, and even taking advantage of amnesia at one point in the name of making Danny her boyfriend.
  • Lust Object: Mikey and formerly Dash, Kwan, and Tucker regard her as one, much to her utter revulsion.
  • Lust Makes You Dumb: Colette's rationality pretty much evaporates when she is around Danny, and acts no better than a clingy pest at best.
  • Mad Love: Colette is not above using bribery, manipulation, and even blackmail in her pursuit of Danny, despite the fact that he doesn't return her interest.
  • Madness Mantra: "I'm too beautiful to be angry." Throughout "Dressed", she repeats this to herself in response to any provocation until she finally snaps in the end upon losing the pageant.
  • Manipulative Bitch: She has no qualms with using other people to further her own goals, such as suitors, friends and even her own family.
  • Mask of Sanity: Any charm, friendliness, sadness, remorse, etc. she exhibits is purely superficial and only meant to conceal her true mentality and feelings.
  • Mirror Character: She's this to Donovan Loadman as they're both narcissistic, elitist Spoiled Brats that come from Old Money families who the main cast utterly loathe, didn't have their biological moms around while growing up, are the exact opposite of their decent biological parent of the same gender, lead a group of shallow "friends", and act as Abhorrent Admirers to one of the main protagonists out of a sense of entitlement while being Not Good with Rejection. The key difference is that Colette only thinks she loves Danny while Donovan has no such delusions and openly calls Star his property. Colette is also capable of brainstorming and executing her own plans, whereas Donovan lacks such creativity and his schemes are poorly thought out even in the short-term.
  • Missing Mom: Her biological mother has yet to make an appearance. Not much is known about her but Star implies that she left due to Jean-Luc's womanizing ways. Her mother finally appears in "Blackmailed", where it's revealed she is a traveling philanthropist named Suzette Dumont who divorced Jean-Luc when Colette was five, and hasn't really been around since.
  • Money Dumb: The fact that she spent over $12,000 on a Halloween costume is quite telling.
  • Moral Myopia: As far as she's concerned, ruining Star's day is okay but returning the favor is unforgivable.
  • More Hateable Minor Villain: While most of Danny's villains are too awesome or entertaining to hate, neither can be said for Colette, a cruel Big Sister Bully and Alpha Bitch who's tormented Star since the day they met just for kicks and is willing to use any means to steal her boyfriend Danny simply as a way to mess with her along with harassing their friends. She's so vile that even the sadistic Manipulative Bitch Penelope Spectra calls her a sociopath in the making.
  • Mundanger: She’s just a bratty teenager with no superpowers or ambition for supervillainy but she quickly proves to be much more vile than any of the villains in Team Phantom’s rogue galley because of her utter lack of scruples when it comes to getting what she wants, thus becoming a frighteningly realistic example of a sociopathic yandere. At first, Team Phantom just regards her as a major Spoiled Brat and nuisance that they’re happy to ignore but Colette's increasingly unstable behavior makes them, their allies, and even their enemies and the A-Listers afraid of her since they’re terrified of what she’s willing to do to get Danny. “Empowered” shows she IS capable of being much worse after getting ghost powers as she eagerly uses them to terrorize Amity Park and make Danny her king by force, even being willing to get rid of Star (and anyone she just doesn't like) permanently.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: After going mad with power in "Empowered", she's willing to kill Star to make Danny hers.
  • Mutually Unequal Relation: Colette sees Danny as hers and only hers, while he has nothing but disdain for her and would rather be as far away from her as possible.
  • Narcissist: She is very full of herself, to say the least. In fact, she seems to be an even worse one than Paulina.
  • Nausea Fuel: To Danny, as just the thought of being romantically involved with Colette makes him want to hurl. When she manages to kiss him, he's disgusted to the point he's worried about becoming sick and proceeds to furiously clean his mouth.
  • Never My Fault:
    • She has a habit of blaming Star whenever things don't go her way.
    • Colette refuses to believe that her horrible attitude is the reason why Danny won't give her the time of day even if he wasn't with Star.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: One of her failed attempts to humiliate Star in "Visited" unwittingly foils one of Vlad's plans.
  • Nobody Touches the Hair: She is very protective of her hair, and becomes greatly dismayed if it gets messed up.
  • No Love for the Wicked: She has no understanding of love whatsoever, be it platonic or romantic. She only stole Star’s past boyfriends for kicks and dumped them when she got bored of them. Despite her own delusions, she couldn’t care less about Danny as a person and only treats him as a trophy to take from Star out of spite and as a challenge to satisfy her own ego since she finds it inconceivable that someone prefers Star over her or that a boy can be immune to her charms so she obsesses over the first boy to reject her. She also has no regard for any of her stepmothers, not caring if her father cheats on them and callously exploiting their naivety and love for her to make them spoil her. Colette does feel genuine familial affection toward her biological parents but it doesn’t make her any less of a horrible person since she’s willing to lie to and manipulate them for her own benefit.
  • No Sympathy: A victim of this. Team Phantom make it clear they don't care if Colette gets hurt and are relieved when she gets stuck in the hospital after her little adventure in New York since she's not around to bother them anymore.
  • Not Good with Rejection: That's putting it mildly.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Given one by Star, Sam, Jazz, and Valerie when they beat the stuffing out of her in "Empowered" after she loses her ghost powers as payback for everything she put them through.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: Twice. In "Empowered", she temporarily gets ghost powers that she uses to menace Amity Park and Team Phantom. In "Blackmailed", she frames Team Phantom to get them out of Danny's life and blackmails him into dating her.
  • Non-Action Big Bad: She’s a very persistent threat to Team Phantom but is no fighter because of her preference for using guile and manipulation to get her way as well as her disdain for physical effort or getting her own hands dirty. Subverted in “Empowered” where she becomes a major physical threat to both Team Phantom and Amity Park after receiving ghost powers.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: Towards Danny, much to his dismay.
  • No Social Skills: The fact that she's a major Spoiled Brat and Rich Bitch who isn't afraid to use her wealth to throw her weight around shows that she's not good with interacting with real people. In fact, the closest she seems to have in social skills is when she's either trying to bribe someone or manipulate them.
  • Obliviously Evil: She's too delusional and narcissistic to grasp why forcing Danny into a relationship with her is wrong and actually thinks she can make him like her if he sees what dating her is like, but only manages to get him to utterly despise her. In "Blackmailed", Colette outright insists to Danny that she's not a bad guy because she's only trying to "save [him] from a life of mediocrity".
  • Oblivious to Hatred:
    • She can't get it through her head that Danny absolutely loathes her and can't stand to be around her, no matter how many times he tells her point-blank. For example, when he confesses to turning her hair green in "Forgotten", Colette can't understand why, even after everything she did to Danny and his loved ones while he had amnesia, and immediately accuses Star of putting him up to it.
    • She doesn’t know her step-grandfather Richard Traville has hated her and her father Jean-Luc since they first met for being obnoxious snobs.
  • Oblivious to Their Own Description:
    • She refers to Star as a "boyfriend-stealing harpy" at one point in Staged and a "thief" in Blackmailed in her envy over Star dating Danny, clearly not seeing the irony or hypocrisy.
    • She calls Misty a stalker to Danny when they encounter each other at the flea market while both of them are stalking him.
  • Obnoxious Entitled Housewife: While only a teenager, she's already just as bad if not worse than Beatrice Traville in this department, to outright abusive levels. Colette demands Danny become her boyfriend and future husband regardless of his feelings on the matter, makes him stay away from his loved ones so he’ll only listen to her, has no respect for his opinion or consent since she constantly orders him around and violates his personal space, expects him to wait on her hand and foot, snaps at him whenever he disobeys or displeases her, and uses threats to make him stay with her.
  • Offended by an Enemy's Indifference:
    • She refuses to accept that she can’t get Danny to fall for her like she got Star’s past boyfriends to.
    • While she has no interest in Donovan, she’s still upset that he would make her his third choice for a potential wife, behind Star and Sam.
    • In “Blackmailed”, she’s enraged that Johnny 13 and Danny Phantom think they’re too good for her and avoid her as a standard.
  • Offended by an Inferior's Success: She's so narcissistic she can't stand anyone getting more attention than her and it enrages her to no end that Danny vastly prefers Star's company to her own.
  • Old Money: She and Jean-Luc come from a French old money family, whose fortune came from their vineyard.
  • Opposites Attract: A deconstructed one-sided example, as she’s an elitist snob from Old Money that is obsessed with the modest, middle-class Nice Guy Danny Fenton, who she has nothing in common with but seeks to forcefully change into being more like herself to suit her tastes.
  • Parental Title Characterization: Despite being the same age as Danny and Star, she refers to her father as "Papa" and Stella as "Mama".
  • Pet the Dog: While she has some hidden spite and bitterness towards her biological mother Suzette, Colette's love and regard for her seem genuine, unlike with her ex-stepmothers. Even when manipulating Suzette, Colette notes her mother's admirable qualities which even Jean-Luc lacks, like being more understanding and open-minded.
  • Picky Eater: She is stated to be a very picky eater, and refuses to touch any food that is considered "common" like pizza. One of the reasons she refuses to even enter the Nasty Burger or eat its food is because it doesn't have 4 stars. She apparently inherited this trait from her father.
    • In "Empowered" when Colette is prescribed an increased caloric diet by Doctor Sampson to regain her lost weight from crash dieting, she considers it a punishment because it means having to eat "greasy peasant food".
  • Playing Hard to Get: She deludes herself into believing that Danny refuses her advances because he’s shy. She thinks the same thing about his ghost-self in “Empowered” when he’s grossed out by the Forceful Kiss she gave him.
  • Playing the Victim Card: Whenever things go bad for her, you can expect her default response is to refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing she did to deserve it and find someone to blame, usually Star.
  • Plot Allergy: "Traveled" reveals she is allergic to latex and peanuts.
  • Polite Villains, Rude Heroes: Inverted. Colette is a snobby Alpha Bitch while Danny is a heroic, well-meaning Nice Guy.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: She constantly refers to people of lower status than her as "peasants", and "Empowered" also implies that she may be a racist; Colette refers to Misty as Japanese, who later corrects that she's Chinese but the French girl doesn't care. After getting her memory of the events wiped and being in a bad mood due to suffering from her injuries, Colette still stoops low enough to call Misty "Rice Breath" to her face.
  • Popular Is Dumb: Played With and Subverted. Colette is actually stated to do well academically, and is clearly sharper and more clever than Paulina and Dash. However, she is very spoiled and lazy, focusing more on short-term gratification and never seeming to consider the consequences or long-term effects of her actions. Colette is also shown to be very reckless, especially when she is frustrated and impatient. This is most evident during her failed attempts to gain Danny as a boyfriend.
  • Preppy Name: Her full name is Colette Anastasie Marie Bevier.
  • Pride: One of her biggest flaws is her giant ego and need to be the best.
  • Privilege Makes You Evil: She has a comparably more opulent and privileged lifestyle than Star, and her overall motivation is to make her stepsister's life a living nightmare.
  • Privileged Rival: Played with. While Star also comes from a rich family, Colette has a more luxurious lifestyle and Stella and Jean-Luc rarely discipline or set limits for her, making her run wild and cause trouble for others, especially her stepsister.
  • Proud Beauty: She seems to be on par with Paulina, although is more discreet about it.
  • The Proud Elite: She makes it very clear that she enjoys and takes great pride in being part of the wealthy Bevier family.
  • Psychopathic Womanchild: She's not just bratty, but very obsessive and implied to be sociopathic. She's demanding or dismissive with almost everyone, easily consumed by jealousy and hatred, throws tantrums whenever she doesn't get her way, and refuses to let go of what she wants no matter how many times she's beset with failure.
  • Psychological Projection:
    • Colette often calls Star a witch and believes that she is not worthy of Danny's time, even describing her as "boy/boyfriend-stealing", traits that fit her better than Star.
    • She also accuses Star of manipulating Danny into being with her and doing illicit things together behind their parents' backs, since it's exactly what Colette would do.
    • In "Blackmailed", Colette's fabricated complaints to her mother about her home life are the exact inverse of her real relationships with her father, Stella, Star, and Danny, twisted to make herself the victim.
  • Rejection Affection: Colette continues to pursue Danny, despite the fact that he is dating her stepsister and dislikes her.
  • Relationship Sabotage: Colette's entire M.O seems to revolve around ruining Star's entire love life and Danny is her latest target.
  • The Resenter: She deeply hates and resents her stepsister very much for unknown reasons, and this resentment extends to Star's friends and loved ones (with the possible exception of Danny).
  • Rich Bitch: Colette revels in hailing from an affluent family and believes it makes her inherently superior. She frequently lords the prestige of the Bevier name over others, especially when someone won't cater to her whims or fall over themselves to please her.
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: As far as she's concerned, the world only exists to fill her needs.
  • The Rich Want to Be Richer: Despite already being from a wealthy Old Money family, she tries to use Misty’s magic necklace to wish for $100 billion and/or legal ownership of the United States of America in “Empowered”. It doesn’t work because the wish is powered by Misty’s magic and she refuses to help Colette since she completely hates her, plus the wish is so outrageous Misty physically doesn’t have the power to grant it.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: In "Bonding", she does notice that Danny Phantom shares a physical resemblance to Danny Fenton but just assumes it's because they must be related.
  • The Rival:
    • She and Star have been rivals since they were 11 and have always competed for things. Now, Colette is trying to rival her for Danny Fenton.
    • To a lesser degree, she soon becomes a rival to Paulina for the status of the most popular girl at Casper High, with the two of them fighting to come out on top over the other in events like the Miss Teen Amity Park beauty pageant and a Halloween costume contest.
  • Sadist: It's been made clear on more than one occasion that she genuinely enjoys making Star miserable, taking pleasure in her suffering and actively plotting ways to hurt her.
  • Sanity Slippage: Her obsession with Danny and rivalry with Star, as well as her many defeats and humiliations, have taken a toll on her mental health. Prime examples are in "Empowered" and "Traveled".
  • Sarcasm-Blind: She's incapable of realizing when Danny is snarking at her.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Beautiful!: Colette seems to live on this trope and while she is considered physically attractive, her personality is anything but beautiful. Also, Screw the Rules, I Have Money! seems to be her fallback strategy when her looks won't work as she is not above bribery either.
  • Seduction as One-Upmanship: Her favorite "hobby" is stealing Star's boyfriends for herself, and then dumping them once she grows bored of them.
  • Self-Proclaimed Love Interest: She stubbornly insists that Danny is her soulmate and becomes creepily possessive of him, despite him constantly making it 100% clear he loathes her to the core.
  • Serial Homewrecker: She's had a habit of stealing Star's boyfriends, though never keeping them just to mess with her. Danny, however, is the exception she wants to keep.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She's demonstrated characteristics of all seven deadly sins:
    • Lust: She's obsessed with Danny regardless of the fact he's in love with Star and will stop at nothing to get together with him, often fantasizing the future she wants for them while disregarding his feelings in the matter.
    • Sloth: She admits she plans on living on her family's wealth so she doesn't have to work a day in her life. Also, while she's smart enough to do her own schoolwork, she prefers to make Mikey do it like the rest of the A-Listers.
    • Wrath: She gets even nastier when she's denied what she wants, to the point of throwing loud tantrums or even inflicting physical and emotion harm on others.
    • Envy: Part of the reason she's obsessed with Danny is that her ego can't handle the fact that Star is dating a boy who genuinely likes her instead of Colette.
    • Greed: She always wants more despite already being rich. She even tried to use a wish from Misty's enchanted necklace in "Empowered" to get $100 billion and legal ownership of the United States of America.
    • Pride: She takes her narcissism to unhealthy levels. She's snobby, vain, elitist, and is determined to make Danny hers by any means just because she's too full of herself to accept that there's a boy who has no interest in her or that she can't steal from Star.
    • Gluttony: She's not really a glutton because of her fixation with maintaining her figure but she does have a preference for high-class cuisine and never knows when to stop indulging her hobby of messing with Star's life.
  • Shabby Heroes, Well-Dressed Villains: Downplayed. Colette is a narcissistic, sociopathic Alpha Bitch whose usual outfit consists of a gaudy and overpriced yellow dress while the Humble Hero Danny prefers to stick with casual clothing.
  • Shadow Archetype: She is one to Star. They're both rich kids who live with their divorced father, but Colette is what Star could have ended up being like if Johnathan spoiled her and enabled her worst impulses.
  • Shallow Cannot Comprehend True Love: Colette just can't seem to understand why Danny would prefer Star over her.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: She’s naturally this on account of her narcissism and Attention Whore tendencies, as she enjoys flaunting her beauty in public and having guys drool over her. She especially likes wearing revealing outfits just to get Danny’s attention, like when she wore a skimpy bikini at the water park in an attempt to steal him from Star in “Sunk”.
  • Sheltered Aristocrat: She is from a rich family and clearly does not know how the real world works.
  • Sibling Rivalry: She and Star hate each other and compete for things, with Colette usually winning due to Stella taking her side (at first).
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: With her half-brother Pierre, who she considers a pest at best. While Colette is a manipulative, narcissistic Spoiled Brat with sociopathic tendencies whose mere existence is abhorred by the heroes and their loved ones, Pierre is a genuinely sweet and harmless infant who everyone adores, even people who utterly despise his snobby family.
  • Silver Spoon Troublemaker: She is the daughter of a wealthy family, and she's made it her life's mission to make Star miserable, namely by stealing her boyfriends.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: For all her wealth and looks, you'd assume that Colette would go for someone who is more of a match for her, but she only has eyes on Danny Fenton, who can't stand her. Not even Danny Phantom makes a blip on her radar, even if she admits that he is attractive.
  • Skewed Priorities: Big time! Even if you count that she's a Dirty Coward, she usually worries more about her looks and material possessions than her own life. The Ghost Writer even calls her out on this (instead of fearing for her life, she starts to complain about her hair and clothes).
  • Slobs Versus Snobs: The humble and compassionate middle-class Danny Fenton utterly despises the elegant but rotten to the core Rich Bitch Colette Bevier. Interestingly, it’s one-sided since Colette is fixated on making Danny hers but hates his common background and aims to mold him into a sophisticated gentleman to so he’ll be a better match for her, regardless of what means she has to use.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: She thinks her looks and pedigree make her superior to everyone else.
  • The Smart Guy: Deconstructed. She KNOWS she’s smarter than the A-Listers and it only fuels her hatred for them.
  • Smitten Teenage Girl: With Danny, to yandere levels. She stalks, flirts with, and tries to cling to him every chance she gets, keeps a Stalker Shrine of him, and ardently fantasizes married life with him.
  • Smug Smiler: She is prone to these when she is acting particularly haughty.
  • Smug Snake: She acts very arrogant and condescending towards those she looks down on... which is pretty much everyone, especially Star.
  • The Sociopath: Heavily implied, as she's extremely self-centered to almost inhuman levels. Colette has an overinflated image of herself, no genuine loyalty or attachment to anyone (save maybe her father), actively strives to tear others down for her own sick gratification to the point of hating if her targets are happy for any reason, is pathologically unable to even treat people with basic decency unless she can get something out of it, and seems incapable of real emotion, though is an expert manipulator who can feign innocence and sincerity if need be. Several characters, including Spectra, explicitly note that Colette either is a sociopath or at least becoming one.
  • Sore Loser: She never takes it well if someone (especially Star) is better than her at anything or has something she doesn't.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: Downplayed, but more than likely defied by the present. Colette had little interaction with her mother for most of her childhood, something that seemed to have bothered her greatly, and grew up with a doting but self-absorbed father and a revolving door of well-meaning but clueless stepmothers. However, "Blackmailed" shows that any real sadness Colette may harbor over not having a mother anymore is overshadowed by how little she thinks of Suzette and her work, as well as her four stepmothers whom she doesn't truly respect, regarding them as pawns who are only useful for doing her bidding and can be easily replaced as if they're just a pair of shoes.
  • Spoiled Brat: Colette is spoiled by her extremely wealthy father and is so used to getting her way that she'll act out if her demands aren't met exactly how she desires and won't accept it when she doesn't get something she wants. Notably, she won't take Danny saying no for an answer.
    • In Snowed, she has a fit over getting "only" three dozen Christmas presents from her parents because it's less than last year.
    • In Traveled, she insults a restaurant server for making her wait 10 minutes for her order.
  • Stalking Is Funny if It Is Female After Male: Averted as Colette's obsession with Danny is realistically portrayed as unacceptable. Team Phantom is annoyed to no end with her antics and even trying to get a restraining order against her, her parents struggle to control her and are even considering taking extreme measures like sending her to boarding school and/or a therapist, and even the A-Listers are creeped out by her fixation on Danny to the point it's having a negative effect on her popularity.
  • Stalker Shrine: She has one of Danny in her room, which includes doctored photos of a wedding picture between them. She's even created one in her locker at school like Paulina's.
  • Stalker with a Crush: She keeps an eye on Danny without his consent.
  • Stupid Evil: For all her scheming and manipulations, Colette is still just a whiny brat who is willing to continue harassing others to get what she wants, even after all the pain, trouble, and humiliation it causes her. She never gets better either.
    • Colette could easily use her looks, charm, and wealth to get a boyfriend that’s a better match for her but prefers to waste all her time obsessing over a guy who never even liked her to begin with and only has eyes for her stepsister Star, who he is dating, just for the sake of her wounded pride over being told “no” and to spite Star in some petty sibling rivalry.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: She doesn’t bother hiding her justifiably low opinion of the A-Listers' intelligence, given her frustration in dealing with Brainless Beauty Paulina and Dumb Jocks Dash, Dale, and Kwan because they value looks, sports, wealth, and status above all else.
  • Tautological Templar: Colette's entire worldview is based on satisfying her sense of entitlement so in her warped mind, it's perfectly fine to step on anyone she wants to because it's her right as a Blue Blood.
  • Teens Are Monsters: She is an unfeeling girl who is willing to cause trouble, including harming others, to get whatever she wants, be it her stepsister or the guy whom she is supposedly in love with.
  • They Just Dont Get It: She can't get it through her thick head that Danny doesn't want anything to do with her no matter how many times he tells her to her face that he completely hates her and wants Colette out of his life for good.
  • They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: She is quite possibly one of the biggest sociopaths in the fic series, being a yandere towards Danny and a Big Sister Bully towards Star. However, she is not a ghost monster, just a mere human teenage Rich Bitch with entitlement issues.
  • Token Evil Teammate:
    • She is the most malicious member of the Bevier family.
    • She is undoubtedly the most awful of the A-Listers because of her sheer sociopathic cruelty and unmatched narcissism that makes even Paulina look humble by comparison.
  • Token Human: With Freakshow in prison and Beatrice Traville & Donovan Loadman out of the picture, Colette is the only genuinely evil human that Team Phantom has to contend with on a regular basis.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Twice
    • She temporarily got ghost powers in "Empowered" and became a terrifying supervillain who Team Phantom was only able to defeat with trickery to depower her.
    • In "Blackmailed", she devises a complex scheme to frame Team Phantom so they'll stay away from Danny. After discovering Danny's secret identity, she successfully blackmails him into being her boyfriend and refuses to back down no matter how much he tries to intimidate her.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass:
    • Shockingly, yes. In "Empowered" after Misty grants her wish, Colette is fully willing to resort to kidnapping, murder and world domination with her newfound powers to get everything she thinks she deserves.
    • She was already an Abhorrent Admirer, Alpha Bitch, and Big Sister Bully but in "Blackmailed", she's willing to ruin Team Phantom's lives by framing them just to have Danny all to herself.
  • Too Much Alike:
    • Probably why she and Paulina hate each other, as they are both spoiled Daddy's Girls and stuck-up, unpleasant Alpha Bitches who are obsessed with being above everyone else and hopelessly fixated on a boy out of their reach.
    • Donovan is just as much of an entitled brat and yandere as Colette, and she finds him unbearably annoying because of it as she admits to Donovan that she vastly prefers Danny for having a much more bearable personality.
  • Too Proud for Lowly Work: She makes it clear that she has no intentions of ever getting a job, preferring to mooch off her family's wealth.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: She enjoys high-class French cuisine, including escargot, foie gras, caviar, and pigeon pie.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: Most, if not all, of Colette's misfortunes are due to her acting without thinking or understanding how the repercussions would affect her.
  • Tragic Villain: Despite Colette's snobbish and cruel nature, there is some tragedy to her life as her father pays little interest in her outside of supplying her materialistic needs and her biological mother Suzette left them due to his infidelity. This, along with Jean-Luc's constant remarriages, may be part of the reason she acts the way she does, as well as explain her need to be showered with attention and expensive gifts and how she developed her shallow, cynical beliefs on love. Colette also seems to be sincerely attracted to Danny in some way due to being the first boy she met who has resisted her advances, as she does admit that she finds him cute and more interesting than the rest of the boys who vie for her attention, but has become fixated with him overtime.
  • Troll: She enjoys teasing Star and generally making things difficult for her.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Star claims that Colette has behaved the way she has since they were kids, right down to needlessly bullying her.
  • Turned Off By The Jerkass: Even she finds Dash Baxter and Donovan Loadman too obnoxious and dimwitted to date.
  • The Unapologetic: Even the thought of apologizing is completely alien to her.
  • The Unfettered: Colette is willing to do anything to get what she wants, including bribery, blackmail, threats, sabotage, seduction, and manipulation. In "Empowered", she upgraded to kidnapping and attempted murder after receiving ghost powers.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: Twice in “Blackmailed”:
    • Danny is disgusted by Colette’s callous insults toward Stella despite the latter treating Colette like her own daughter for all these years.
    • Colette is more upset that Danny stained her dress instead of focusing on the fact he saved her life by pushing her out of the way of Ember’s attack.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Becomes this in “Empowered” after temporarily getting ghost powers from Misty’s wish-granting necklace by accident. Star even mocks her for having no technique or combat experience and relying entirely on her powers, which allows the former to humiliate her stepsister in a fight.
  • Unwanted Harem: She never has a problem getting guys to notice her but while she enjoys the attention, she’d prefer if Danny was the only guy who pursued her.
  • Upper-Class Twit: Despite her family's wealth and being admittedly smarter than Dash and Paulina (she is stated to do well academically at school), Colette's social tact leaves a lot to be desired.
  • The Vamp: A rare underage version as she’s more than happy to use her beauty to get her way, including luring guys to her. However, she's incapable of grasping that looks will only get you so far when dealing with someone who hates you too much for your repulsive jerkass personality to care what you look like, as Danny demonstrates.
  • Villain Decay: Star notes that Colette's refusal to leave well enough alone has made her predictable, especially now that she can't hide behind her father and stepmother anymore. In "Dressed" and "Staged", several of her petty schemes fail because Star anticipated Colette would try to sabotage her.
  • Villain Has a Point:
    • She's understandably bitter toward her biological mom Suzette for breaking her promises in the past to spend time with Colette because of her work commitments and weather problems.
    • While not an excuse to lie to and manipulate her stepmoms, Colette does have understandable reasons for not becoming attached to them because even if they sincerely love her, they never stick around since they eventually divorce Jean-Luc after getting fed up with his philandering ways. The fact that her father is planning on leaving Stella in "Blackmailed" only further proves her point.
  • Villains Never Lie: Surprisingly in “Empowered”, Colette admits to Team Phantom that she doesn’t know how she got ghost powers.
  • Villain Respect: Colette admits she respects Beatrice for always getting her way sooner or later.
  • Villainous Breakdown: She completely loses it whenever her plans fail, which only worsens her determination.
  • Villainous Crush: She develops an unhealthy fixation on Danny because of his repeated rejections of her.
  • Villainous Underdog: She doesn't have Danny's powers or Star's combat skills but she compensates with her wealth, intelligence, guile, and lack of scruples.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes: She becomes very taken with Danny and flirts with him heavily, trying to take him away from Star.
  • Viler New Villain: Overtime, she quickly establishes herself as a FAR worse person than the A-Listers or any of Team Phantom’s regular enemies, including Vlad, because of her sheer sociopathy.
  • Wasted Beauty:
    • She is this to Danny because while he admits Colette is pretty, he finds her insufferable due to her self-absorbed and bratty personality, as well as the fact that she treats him like a trophy. When she gives him a Forceful Kiss in "Empowered", he's utterly revolted.
    • In general, most boys who're around Colette long enough come to see her as this since despite her beauty, there's only so much they're willing to take before getting fed up with how mean-spirited and uncaring she really is, as well as the extent of her obsession with Danny. This eventually causes even Tucker, Kwan, and Dash to lose interest in her, with the latter two refusing to do her bidding anymore.
    • In “Blackmailed”, Johnny 13 flat-out tells Danny he wouldn’t ask out a witch like Colette if she was the last girl on earth or the Ghost Zone. It surprises Danny that a dirtbag like Johnny 13 has standards while Colette is enraged that the two ghosts think avoiding her is a standard.
    • It’s not just Dash and Kwan who have lost interest in Colette as by “Blackmailed”, the rest of the jocks in the A-List have gotten so sick of her overbearing personality (to the point they consider her even bossier than Ms. Tetslaff) and creepy fixation with Danny that they’d actually feel sorry for him if he did date her. Not to mention they’re fine with kicking Colette out of the group and getting her arrested if they find proof that she committed crimes to get Danny to date her since they don’t want to associate with a criminal.
  • Weak, but Skilled: She is not a fighter, but is very manipulative and conniving, using her looks, wits, and wealth to get her way.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: Colette admits she finds Danny’s blue eyes nice.
  • When You Coming Home, Dad?: Gender-Inverted. She rarely gets to spend time with her biological mother, Suzette, because the latter is always busy with her global charity work. Colette hasn't even seen her mother in person for years and is lucky if she can talk with Suzette on the phone every few months, which has secretly left a mark on her.
  • Wicked Cultured: Colette is a Spoiled Brat Alpha Bitch who enjoys opera, classical music, gourmet food, going to art museums and other posh activities of the upper-class.
  • Wig, Dress, Accent: In "Bonding", she uses this disguise in order to sneak into the country club as a waiter and sabotage the Fenton and Strong families' dinner.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Colette wasn't the most stable person to begin with but her worst qualities are amplified after her wish to be able to get rid of both Star and Starlight Spirit temporarily grants her ghost powers, turning her into a downright Ax-Crazy supervillain.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Since the side story "Bonding", she's developed an overpowering fear of tigers. Even a mascot costume or a tabby cat with a similar fur pattern are enough for her to shriek and pass out from shock.
  • Yandere: A non-lethal example. Colette is hopelessly infatuated with Danny and she's not above lying, manipulating, bribing or outright blackmailing people in order to get his attention away from Star.

    Pierre Bevier
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pierre_bevier.png
Star and Colette's infant half-brother and the only son of Stella and Jean-Luc.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Stella calls him "Angel" or "Darling" and Fif refers to him as "the little one" in an affectionate way.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Colette seems to view him as one.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Literally, since he is just a year old.
  • Big Brother Worship:
    • Despite still being a baby, Pierre is shown to adore his older half-sister Star and is much closer to her than he is with Colette. The fact that he constantly says Star's name when he starts talking is telling.
    • While they are not related, it's implied that Pierre looks up to Danny to, and says his name almost as much as he does Star's, much to his father's displeasure. "Danny" was actually Pierre's first word in "Protected".
  • Canon Foreigner: Created for this series.
  • Cheerful Child: He is shown to be a very happy and cheerful baby boy, who is usually seen giggling or playing with his toys.
  • Children Are Innocent: As a baby, he is the sweetest and most innocent member of his family.
  • Fearless Infant: He seems to have some shades of this.
  • Loved by All: He's the only Bevier who the main cast like, Stella and Jean-Luc regard him as their favorite child, and even the Strongs, the Fentons, Richard, and Solene are fond of him despite their intense hatred for his family. Fifi is also very caring and protective of him, despite her own hatred of Jean-Luc and Colette. In fact, the only person who doesn't seem to be fond of him is Colette.
  • Morality Pet: He is the only person (aside from Colette) that his snobbish father seems to truly care about.
  • Nice Guy: He’s just a cute and sweet baby who Team Phantom and their loved ones adore despite their deep hatred for his snooty family. Star is hoping to make sure he stays this way by keeping him away from the Beviers' corrupting influence.
  • Perpetual Smiler: Due to him being a baby, he is rarely upset and is usually happy and smiling.
  • Somebody Doesn't Love Raymond: Colette is the only one who doesn’t care about him as she regards him as a pest at best. In “Blackmailed”, she even tells Danny she considers Pierre a "mutt" and an inferior member of her purebred family who is only good for running the family business so she doesn’t have to. Colette couldn’t care less where he came from as long as she gets her share of the inheritance and stocks.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: It's stated that he resembles Stella (and Star) more than Jean-Luc.
  • Token Good Teammate: By being a baby, he's the only member of the Bevier bloodline who isn't disliked and who Star can stand to be around. Even Johnathan seems concerned for Pierre and tells Stella where to find a decent babysitter for him. Richard also regards him as the only good thing to come from Stella's marriage to Jean-Luc.
  • White Sheep: His father is a philandering snob and a Serial Homewrecker, his mother is a Brainless Beauty and a Rich Bitch (though she is now trying to make amends for her actions), and his older half-sister Colette is a Spoiled Brat and a Narcissist who views him as a nuisance. Pierre, being a baby, is the only member of his family who isn't immediately disliked by the main cast, and his other sister Star definitely hopes that he will grow up to be this trope one day.

    Fifi

The Bevier family's prize show dog. A pampered purebred poodle who, arguably, is probably the most innocent member of the family next to Pierre. She was originally Star's pet before Stella and Johnathan divorced.

  • Action Girl: She’s fine with biting Jean-Luc after he pushes her too far and will jump into the fray to protect Pierre.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: She’s an adorable little poodle and a total sweetheart.
  • Brutally Honest: She makes it very clear to Lord Winthrop that she’d rather have puppies with a rat than a pompous windbag like him. She also bluntly tells him that his stories about himself are boring.
  • Canon Foreigner: Created for this series.
  • The Dog Bites Back: She scares off Lord Winthrop and literally bites Jean-Luc’s leg when they go too far.
  • Dude Magnet: Cujo falls for her at first sight, and she unwittingly attracted the attention of a leader of a pack of stray dogs.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • While a pleasant poodle, she has a limit to how much nonsense she can tolerate. She quickly grows to hate Jean-Luc and Lord Winthrop for being controlling snobs.
    • She loves Stella but questions her intelligence regarding her decision to marry an unpleasant snob like Jean-Luc.
    • She’s pretty timid around other show dogs but is more than willing to stand up to Lord Winthrop when he starts insulting Stella and Cujo.
    • Despite hating Jean-Luc with a burning passion, she is very caring toward his son Pierre as she enjoys playing with him and will even put her life on the line to save him from danger.
    • She’ll even stand up to Stella for Cujo’s sake.
  • Gilded Cage: Fifi loves her masters but she finds all the training and appointments for dog shows boring and jumps at the chance to play with Pierre and Cujo.
  • Jerkass to One: She’s very open about her disdain for pompous assholes like Jean-Luc and Lord Winthrop. It's justified since they’re self-important pricks who don’t care about Fifi in the slightest and only regard her as a tool for their own benefit (Jean-Luc wants to use her to build more connections with wealthy dog owners and Lord Winthrop just wants a Trophy Wife who can give him purebred poodle pups regardless of Fifi’s consent).
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Even she wonders what was going through Stella’s head to make her think it was a good idea to marry a stuck-up jerk like Jean-Luc.
  • Naïve Everygirl: She seems to be a canine version of this.
  • Nausea Fuel: The thought of having puppies with Lord Winthrop is this to her as she'd rather have puppies with a rat.
  • Nice Girl: She's a sweet, well-behaved little dog, though she does seem to get bored with her posh lifestyle as a show dog.
  • Ojou: She seems to be a dog version of this, as she is a prize show dog of a wealthy family.
  • Puppy Love: Literally has this with Cujo in "Barked".
  • Rescue Romance: She's touched when Cujo saves her from a pack of stray dogs.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Well, dog in this case, but Fifi makes it clear she'd much rather be with the good-natured and exciting Cujo than the insufferably self-absorbed and dull Lord Winthrop.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Despite her luxurious lifestyle, she seems to be a sweet little dog.
  • Trophy Wife: Jean-Luc and Lord Winthrop try to turn her into this for the latter but she is having none of that.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: She doesn't like anyone messing with Cujo, especially Jean-Luc and Lord Winthrop. She even bites Jean-Luc, something she's never done before, when he shoots Cujo.
  • What Does She See in Him?: Fifi wonders what's wrong with Stella to make her choose an obnoxious idiot like Jean-Luc as a husband.
  • White Sheep: Or dog here but besides Pierre, she's the most innocent member of the Beviers.
  • Women Prefer Strong Men: Or dog in this case but Fifi grows attracted to Cujo's giant form and sees Lord Winthrop as even less worth her time when he flees from the ghost dog in terror like the useless Dirty Coward he is.
