Main Characters

    Danny Fenton
The title character of Danny Phantom who, after getting in contact with Spectral Algae, loses his powers and to make matters worse, winds up trapped on a deserted island with Star of all people.
  • Affectionate Nickname:
    • Star decides to start calling him "Danny-Boo" after they start dating. Sam detests it.
    • Colette insists on calling him "Mon Amour", French for "my love." He's not too keen on it.
  • All Guys Want Cheerleaders: He starts being drawn to Star for more than just her looks, and she's a cheerleader to boot.
  • Always Someone Better: Star, her parents, and eventually even Kwan consider him a better boyfriend to the former than the latter because he makes Star happier than she ever was with Kwan.
  • Amazon Chaser: To say he's pretty excited to see Star's prowess in combat is an understatement.
  • Amnesiacs are Innocent: Despite having amnesia in “Forgotten”, Danny ultimately retains his morals and innate Nice Guy nature, as he grows increasingly disgusted by Colette’s controlling, bullying behavior and eventually wises up enough to ditch her.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Seems to be happening between him and Star, mostly on her part. It comes to an end in "Lost" when they have a Relationship Upgrade.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: He is generally a nice, easy-going, if somewhat awkward teenage boy. However, his kindness and patience have limits and he will not hesitate to get back at people who threaten his girlfriend, friends, and family.
    • He punched Donovan Loadman in his human form hard enough to knock four of the latter's teeth out after the jerk hit Star and tried to force a kiss on her.
    • After Beatrice threatened to keep trying to force Star to become a Proper Lady and marry another rich guy, as well as separate Danny from his family if he interfered, Danny lost his patience with Beatrice, revealed his secret identity to her, and proceeded to torment her with his powers until she was left as a trembling wreck and promised never to bother him and Star ever again.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He attacks Vlad for calling Danielle a "mistake".
  • Birds of a Feather: He and Star learn that they have more things in common than initially thought, such as liking the Dead Teacher movie franchise, and Star even liking his "unique" milkshakes.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Danny loses his powers after getting in contact with an anti-ghost elemental called Spectral Algae. This forces him to use his wits and experience to survive on the island.
  • Brutal Honesty: He’s never shy when it comes to voicing his utter disdain for Colette and makes it clear he wants her out of his life for good, as he’s hoping her parents either send her to boarding school or back to France.
    • In “Forgotten”, even with amnesia he makes it clear to Colette he has no real attraction to her (granted, her being an Alpha Bitch Control Freak who is Not Good with Rejection wasn’t helping). In the end, he openly confesses that he was the one who turned Colette's hair green as a revenge prank.
    • In “Blackmailed”, he bluntly informs Colette that he didn’t visit her at the hospital or send her a card because he didn’t want to.
  • Chick Magnet: Danny manages to attract the attention of Sam, Star and Colette. Also, Valerie still seems to like him and Paulina is still gaga for his ghost form. Ember and, to some extent, Kitty also show an interest in him during the stories. Misty also develops a big crush on him not long after meeting him.
  • Childish Villain, Mature Hero: Danny is this compared to many of his enemies, but the most noticeable are Vlad Plasmius, Colette Bevier, Donovan Loadman, Beatrice Traville, and Youngblood:
    • Danny and Vlad share the same flaws, such as selfishness and wanting to get back at people who wronged them. The difference is Danny is ultimately a decent, well-meaning person who's willing to mature and move on from any misfortunes he faces while Vlad is willing to resort to extreme measures such as kidnapping, cloning, and attempted murder over extremely petty grudges and desires such as not getting the girl he's crushed on since college.
    • Danny and Colette are opposites in many ways, with maturity being one of them. Whereas Danny is responsible, hard-working, and is willing to put others' wants and needs before his own, Colette is irresponsible, expects things to be handed to her with no work on her part, and thinks the world revolves around her. Given their upbringings, it makes perfect sense that they turned out this way; Danny's parents are loving, yet willing to be stern with him, whereas Colette's father simply gives her whatever she wants while her biological mother is absent. It's even reflected in how they act when they acquire ghost powers; Danny uses them to protect people while Colette lets them go completely to her head and goes on a power trip while developing a God complex.
    • Danny and Donovan are both teenaged boys with an interest in Star. However, Danny, for all his flaws, is ultimately a kind boy who sincerely loves Star. Donovan, by contrast, is an elitist Spoiled Brat who throws tantrums when things don't go his way and obsesses over Star due to feeling a childish sense of entitlement toward her.
    • Danny is a mild-mannered boy from a middle-class family who genuinely fell in love with a rich girl and loves his relatives, while Beatrice is a Psychopathic Womanchild in the body of a bitter old hag who lashes out when her demands aren't immediately met, only married Richard for his wealth, and treats her family horribly.
    • Danny is a teenager who likes to use his ghost powers for his amusement on occasion but knows not to go too far and can be remorseful about his actions while Youngblood is a literal child who only cares about playing and doesn't fully grasp the consequences of his actions.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Zigzagged. He always helps people that are attacked by ghosts. In fact, Super Danny represents the ghost side of Danny who wants to help people and protect his town from evil. However, he makes a serious exception for Beatrice Traville in “Visited” when she’s attacked by a ghost bat as payback for treating him like dirt the whole story just because he’s middle-class, mistreating Star, and trying to feed him to the ghost bat to save her own cowardly hide. He’s also fine with Virgato attacking his nemesis, Vlad Masters, and the Box Ghost harassing the snobby Beviers since the Box Ghost is a Harmless Villain who’ll just scare them.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet: Danny doesn't realize Star and Sam are both into him and trying to take his interest away from the other.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He's a superhero who wears a black jumpsuit in his ghost form.
  • Dating Catwoman: Defied. Due to his relationship with Star, and that it happened because Ember kissed him without consent, Danny doesn't return Ember's interest in him. While he had amnesia, he seemed interested to know if they have this kind of relationship, only to be informed Ember is too evil to reform and she's not afraid to inflict bodily harm on him.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: An extremely dark and force example. In "Blackmailed", Colette forces him to date her by threatening to expose his secret identity to the world. None of the Fentons like Colette for being a two-faced brat and the feeling is mutual as she wants to take Danny with her to Paris so she can have him all to herself.
  • Defiant Captive: Even when kidnapped and unable to use his ghost powers out of fear of being exposed, Danny refuses to join a superpowered Colette in her insane plan to take over the world and tries to flee from her every chance he gets in “Empowered”.
  • Determinator: Danny, with or without powers, is determined to keep himself and Star alive while they are trapped on the island, relying only on his wits and the island's resources to survive.
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: No matter how powerful Colette becomes, Danny still refuses to give in to her demands as he just snarks at her and goes out of his way to stop her rampage in “Empowered”.
  • Distressed Dude: In “Empowered”, he is kidnapped and taken to the Milton Hotel by Colette, who has become an even bigger menace thanks to acquiring ghost powers which have given her a god complex and made her murderously possessive of him to the point she’ll hurt him for defying her. Plus, Danny can’t use his ghost powers out of fear of being exposed, requiring Team Phantom to save him.
  • Even the Loving Hero Has Hated Ones: Danny is generally a good-hearted hero and tries to deal with jerks like the A-Listers and villains like his rogues gallery without too much damage, but the people he detests the most are elitist scumbags like Vlad Masters, the Beviers, Donovan Loadman, and Beatrice Traville. In “Visited”, he knocks out four of Donovan’s teeth for assaulting Star then cheers when the brat is cut off by his dad and Star gets a restraining order against him. Also in the same story, he has enough of Beatrice’s elitism and does nothing to help her when she’s attacked by the ghost bat at the country club. In the end, he even confronts her in her hotel room to scare her into leaving Star alone and Amity Park forever after she spitefully threatens to ruin the lives of their loved ones just for getting in her way. He hates Vlad for constantly trying to ruin his family and tormenting his loved ones so he’s relieved when Puck gets him out of their hair as of “Entranced”. In “Barked”, him and Team Phantom are glad Colette is stuck in the hospital from a severe allergic reaction in “Traveled” because it means they don’t have to worry about her trying to ruin their day like she always does. In “Blackmailed”, he even convinces the Box Ghost to only scare the Beviers.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Despite how much of a bossy and unpleasant person she was at the time, Danny tries to save Star from falling off the boat.
    • Also, despite how attractive she is, Danny has no interest in Colette due to her poor treatment of Star and her unpleasant nature. Even with amnesia, he finds Colette too controlling, obnoxious, and irritating to like.
    • As much as he hates Colette with a passion, even he agrees with her that Dash is just a boorish moron that will never amount to anything.
    • He's rather amused and intrigued that his in-universe comic adaptation has been the subject of many Crossover Couple stories, though he admits he only ever reads tasteful ones, avoiding anything NSFW.
    • He’s very devoted to his girlfriend to the point that even when he has amnesia and thinks he's dating Colette, Danny knows it’s wrong to be interested in another girl regardless of how attractive she is.
    • He loves his parents but acknowledges that they can be destructive when dealing with ghosts.
    • Danny typically tries to avoid physical violence when dealing with bullies and jerks instead of ghosts, feeling that it will only cause more problems than it will solve. But after Donovan hits Star for rejecting him, Danny decks Donovan in the face, knocking out some of his teeth.
    • Danny may have Chronic Hero Syndrome but there's still a limit to how much he can put up with as during a ghost bat attack at the country club, he would rather focus on protecting Star than saving her Rich Bitch grandmother when Beatrice is being attacked by the bat because of her horrible treatment of him throughout the story.
    • Danny doesn't care if Donovan marries Colette since it means she'd have to give up on him.
    • He would prefer if Johnny 13 only harassed Colette in the hope she’d leave and never come back. Yet he does accept his lack of interest in the spoiled brat by “Blackmailed” because she’s just THAT awful a person.
    • In “Blackmailed”, he makes a deal with the Box Ghost to leave him alone as long as he only scares Jean-Luc and Colette because Danny doesn’t find them worth saving from a Harmless Villain like the Box Ghost.
  • Everyone Loves Blondes: He's dating Star, whose hair is blonde.
  • Fake Aristocrat: In "Visited" as part of Stella’s plan to have Beatrice approve of him, she instructs Danny to act like an upperclass gentleman from an obscenely rich family.
  • Fatal Attractor: In addition to Star, he ended up catching the attention of Ember, Colette, and Misty.
  • First Love: While she has dated other boys before, Danny is the first person Star has ever truly fallen in love with.
  • The Gadfly: He’s not one to shy away from messing with the A-Listers like flirting with Star and pretending not to know who Paulina is just to Troll her in “Lost”, and dying Colette’s hair green as payback in “Forgotten”.
  • A God I Am Not: Danny makes it clear to a superpowered Colette in “Empowered” that having ghost powers doesn’t make them gods.
  • Ghostly Chill: One of Danny's ghost powers is the ability to manipulate ice and cold.
  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: Downplayed and Subverted in “Blackmailed”. He briefly hopes in desperation that Colette will change for the better after he saves her from Ember’s attempt on her life since she got a second chance, like the one Clockwork gave him that stopped him from turning into Dark Phantom. However, she’s too narcissistic to change so Danny drops any misplaced hope of her ever changing for the better.
  • Good Is Not Dumb: Despite having amnesia in “Forgotten”, Danny eventually sees Colette for the two-faced brat she is and ditches her.
  • Good Is Not Soft: He usually refrains from using violence against jerks but makes a serious exception for Donovan Loadman by knocking out four of the latter's teeth after he tries to give Star a Forceful Kiss and hits her in “Visited”. Later, he uses his ghost powers to traumatize Beatrice Traville when she threatens to ruin the lives of Danny and all his loved ones out of petty spite.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Danny is a half-human, half-ghost.
  • Hate at First Sight: Danny has hated Colette and Donovan Loadman since he first met them for their obnoxious, entitled attitudes and their horrible treatment of Star. That hatred only grows as they show how low they're willing to go to get what they want.
  • Henpecked Husband: Mostly averted, as Danny and Star are shown to have a healthy relationship and respect each other. However, there are times where Star can get rather bossy and entitled, and Danny goes along with her antics to please her. Such as in "Unprepared", where Star pretty much forces Danny to spy on Solene and gather dirt on her, and getting angry when he tries to point out that Solene is not a bad person.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Danny is shown to have some good survival skills which come in handy during his and Star's time on Specter Island.
    • He does value more than looks in a girl since he had no interest in Colette because of her repulsive Rich Bitch attitude even when he had amnesia in “Forgotten”.
  • Humble Hero: As Danny Phantom, he gracefully accepts the fame and accolades he gets for his heroics and has since moved past using his powers to benefit himself personally.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Fun Danny represents the human side of Danny who just wants to be a regular teenager that hangs out with his friends and has fun with his girlfriend Star.
  • Irony: In “Blackmailed”, he finds himself in the same situation as Vlad in “Entranced”; forced into a relationship he doesn’t want with a woman he utterly despises to the core.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Not really a jerkass, but him breaking Star's bubble in kickstarts her reformation.
    • Danny points out to Star that the A-Listers aren’t real friends because they treat her like a lackey by telling her what she can or can’t do, and only hang out with her for her looks, wealth, and athleticism; they also don’t care about her since they showed no concern for Star when she was trapped on the island or locked in the school, with Paulina only upset that Star wouldn't attend her party.
    • In “Trapped”, he tells Star that popularity is pointless in the long run because after you graduate, nobody will care how popular you were in high school so you should enjoy that time by being yourself and hanging out with people you actually like.
  • Jerkass to One: He's far more openly disdainful toward Colette and Donovan than anyone else he hates, including the A-Listers or his ghostly enemies.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He’s strong enough to lift a school bus full of children with one hand, tough enough to withstand a dragon ghost’s fire breath, and fast enough to outpace a space shuttle.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Danny has more common sense than his dad and would rather be an astronaut than hunt ghosts.
  • Like Parent, Like Spouse: Star's father was born into a middle-class family and is Closer to Earth than her mother. In the meantime, she is dating Danny, who is also from a middle-class family and is sometimes Closer to Earth than she is.
  • Love Epiphany: Lost has him coming to realize his feelings for Star go past friendship.
  • Lust Object: He has unwittingly become one to Ember, Colette, Paulina, and Misty, in either human or ghost form. Colette is the worst case.
  • "Near and Dear" Baby Naming: "Broke" reveals he was named after his maternal great-grandmother, Danielle.
  • Nerds Are Sexy: Star and Colette's opinion on Danny after seeing him shirtless.
  • Nerves of Steel: Even when not in ghost form, Danny refuses to cower or give in to an empowered Colette, responding to all her bribes and threats with snark.
  • Nice Guy: While his patience with her gets tested, Danny does his best to look out for Star when they're forced to work together. Eventually, this makes Star lose interest in being rude to him and she soon falls hard for him.
  • Noble Male, Roguish Male:
    • He’s a friendly, heroic, laidback Nice Guy (Noble Male) who Star vastly prefers over the crude, dimwitted Jerk Jock Dash Baxter, insecure, clueless Peer-Pressured Bully Kwan Li, or elitist, Dirty Coward Spoiled Brat Donovan Loadman (Roguish Males).
    • Super Danny is the formal and responsible Noble Male to Fun Danny’s more crude and lazy Roguish Male.
  • Oblivious to Love: Danny is clueless to how Star is clearly falling for him, even after she kissed him. He also remains ignorant of Sam's feelings for him (though ironically, even he's able to sense her and Christopher's growing attraction to each other).
  • Official Couple: With Star.
  • Old Shame: Regards his former crush on Paulina as this as he feels embarrassed for letting his hormones blind him to the annoying, shallow mean girl she is underneath her beauty.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: Does this twice in "Visited". He uses his ghost super-strength to knock out Donovan's teeth as revenge for hitting Star in retaliation for refusing a Forceful Kiss and later uses his powers to scare Beatrice out of Amity Park after she threatens to ruin the lives of Star's loved ones just to get her way.
  • Pervert Revenge Mode: He punches out four of Donovan Loadman's back teeth in "Visited" as payback for giving his girlfriend Star a Forceful Kiss on the cheek then hitting her when she punched him for it.
  • Perverse Sexual Lust: He admits to having a crush on Kim Possible, who is a fictional character in the story. He ends up being involved with a cheerleader who is able to kick butt in his actual life.
  • Pet the Dog: Even with amnesia, he’s disgusted by Colette’s cruel treatment of Mikey and it clues him in on what a horrible person she is in “Forgotten”.
  • Positive Friend Influence: His friendship with Star is what helps kickstart her Character Development.
  • Real Name as an Alias: He keeps "Danny" as his first name in his superhero alias.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Is the laid-back and patient Blue Oni to Sam's passionate and impulsive Red Oni.
  • Refuse to Rescue the Disliked: Danny may have a hero complex but even he won’t help irredeemable assholes like his Arch-Enemy Vlad Masters against Virgato, Rich Bitch Dirty Coward Beatrice Traville against a ghost bat, or the elitist Beviers against the Box Ghost.
    • In "Visited", Danny decides to prioritize saving Star from the ghost bat over her grandmother, especially after Beatrice told the ghost to take him instead of her or Star.
  • Seduction-Proof Marriage: A dating variety but while Danny has several female admirers who try to pursue him, he only has eyes for Star.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: His relationship with Star has moments like this, where they act very lovey-dovey with each other.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Since they started dating, he only has eyes for Star and usually responds with indifference or discomfort to other girls showing interest in him.
  • Smarter Than You Look: He can be pretty observant at times:
    • Even with amnesia, he sees Colette for the horrible two-faced brat she is and doesn’t waste anytime getting away from her.
    • He notices the growing attraction between Sam and Chris.
  • The Snark Knight: Danny deals with aggression this way.
  • Superior Successor: Star considers him this to all her past boyfriends, especially Kwan, since Danny is the only one who stayed faithful to her and wasn't fooled by Colette’s beauty as he immediately realized what a scheming witch she is.
  • Talk to the Fist: He likes to punch his enemies in the face to finally make them shut up.
  • Token Super: He’s the only member of Team Phantom with superpowers. Temporarily subverted in “Swapped” when his ghost powers are transferred to Star before he gets them back in the end and again in “Empowered” when Misty accidentally gives Star ghost powers that she loses in the finale.
  • Totally Trusting Love Interest: Danny knows Star is completely faithful to him and never gets mad at her when guys like Dash, Kwan, Poindexter, or Donovan hit on her because he knows she’d never be interested in them.
  • Turned Off By The Jerkass:
    • Even with amnesia in “Forgotten”, he quickly grew to hate Colette for being a self-absorbed, controlling Alpha Bitch and doesn’t waste any time getting far away from her upon realizing she's lying to him.
    • He lost all interest in Paulina after finally realizing what a spoiled, shallow harpy she is underneath her beauty. He has also stopped being flattered by Paulina's crush on his ghost-half after noticing how clingy and obsessive she’s become, and now just wants her to leave him alone since he finds her as unpleasant as Colette even if she’s not as bad of a person as the latter.
    • He does find Ember McLain beautiful and more tolerable than Colette or Paulina, but still has no interest in her because of her obsession with conquering the world, inability to respect his personal space, and refusal to accept that he loves Star.
  • Villain Respect: Inverted. In “Blackmailed”, Danny doesn't admit it out loud, but he does acknowledge Colette's intelligence in coming up with such a sophisticated blackmail scheme and realizes she is braver than Beatrice because of her refusal to surrender regardless of what he does to her with his ghost powers to try and scare her into abandoning her plan.
  • Wedding Ring Defense: A dating variety, but he is always quick to point out to his admirers that he is in a relationship with Star.
  • Would Hit a Girl: In “Empowered”, Danny is fine with attacking Colette after she gets ghost powers since he longer has to care about holding back and she needs to be stopped from ramping across Amity Park.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Danny can’t bring himself to directly and physically harm a powerless human girl, not even Colette no matter how much he hates her, which she smugly points out in “Blackmailed”.
  • Would Rather Suffer: He'd rather deal with a ghostly threat or even Ember and Misty than be around Colette.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: It annoys Danny to no end that Colette still refuses to drop her obsession with him despite him rejecting her for 6 months straight.

    Estelle "Star" Strong
After a thunder storm leaves them stranded on a Specter Island, Star is forced to work together with Danny in order to survive. During this time, she sees a side of him that she never thought existed.
  • Academic Athlete: She's a cheerleader, and after she leaves the A-listers and stops hiding her intelligence, she is shown to be a good student.
  • The Ace: Star is a beautiful, rich, fairly intelligent, and athletic girl who speaks multiple languages and was part of the A-Listers. After she befriended Danny, she grows to become a kinder and overall better person. Her skills and abilities grow with her not hiding her intelligence now that she quit the A-Listers and becomes more confident and mature. She also becomes a skilled and resourceful fighter after she joins Team Phantom.
  • Action Girlfriend: She becomes this after she has her Relationship Upgrade with Danny and Takes a Level in Badass.
  • Adaptational Badass: She progresses into a capable Action Girl ghost hunter over the course of the fic series and becomes a much more courageous and stronger person, especially compared to what little was shown in canon.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Star is shown to be more observant and academically capable here than in canon. Somewhat justified, as she had minimum screen time in the show and Star admits that she hid her intelligence to fit in with her popular peers before she befriended Danny.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: By virtue of being the lead female of these stories, she's made a more fleshed out and better person that what little is known of her in canon.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Two temporary cases. She was normal human in canon but becomes a half-ghost in “Swapped” when she accidentally receives Danny’s ghost powers thanks to Freakshow’s power-stealing artifact and in “Empowered” as an indirect result of Misty’s magical necklace granting a wish by Colette.
  • Aesop Amnesia: She once went on a crash diet in 8th grade with Paulina to fit into skinny jeans, but was forced to stop after she nearly fainted. Despite this experience, Star once again became paranoid about her weight and crash dieted in "Empowered". It took learning her "weight gain" was actually developing musculature to get her to abandon this.
  • Affectionate Nickname:
    • Danny has taken to calling her "Starlight" after her brief period as a superhero. He occasionally calls her "Milady" too.
    • Her grandfather Kirk calls her "Gumdrop".
  • Aloof Big Sister: Downplayed. Star does not hate her baby half-brother Pierre, but she is not thrilled about him coming to visit, along with her mom and the rest of that side of the family. Subverted, as it is later shown that Star very much cares for Pierre despite her dislike for his biological father and their shared half-sister and hopes he will be better than his family when he grows up.
  • Alliterative Name: Technically, her first name is actually Estelle. However, she prefers to go by Star. As such, it qualifies, with both that and her last name starting in "St".
  • All-Loving Heroine: After undergoing Character Development thanks to Danny's influence, she goes from a Defrosting Ice Queen to this.
  • Amazonian Beauty: By "Empowered", Star begins developing muscle from her heroics, especially around her arms and legs. Danny pretty much drools over her new look.
  • Animal Lover: She has a soft spot for Cujo and dotes on him. She also had a pet goldfish, Bubbles, and adores her and Stella's poodle Fifi.
  • Ascended Extra: She was a minor character in the series. Here, she is the female lead and protagonist.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Even before befriending Danny, Star was a fan of his ghost half. Now, she is his girlfriend and partner in ghost fighting.
  • The Atoner: After befriending Danny and leaving the A-Listers, Star feels great remorse for how she used to treat him and makes great strides to atone for her past behavior.
    • By the end of Trapped, Star helps Danny when Dash pushes him in his locker and stands up to the big bully. Later, when she sees Mr. Lancer unfairly give Danny detention because he favored Dash, she privately threatens to have her father sue him and the school for turning a blind eye to the harassment students receive from the A-Listers unless Mr. Lancer stops favoring them and does his job. Mr. Lancer agrees, apologizes to Danny, rips up his slip, and gives Dash detention. Finally, Star publicly sits with Danny and Valerie, ends her friendship with Paulina, and quits the A-Listers for good.
    • In Sunk, hoping to make up for her past rudeness to her new boyfriend, Star insists that she and Danny go out to the water park. Despite Dash, Paulina, Kwan, and Colette trying to ruin their time and Sam and Tucker spying on them, they had a great time with Star forcing Dash to apologize to her and Danny, and gifting her boyfriend a model shuttle that Dash broke in the past.
    • In Stuck, Sam and Star are forced to work together when they are accidentally sent away and stuck at the abandoned Camp Skull and Crossbones. Despite originally fighting with one other due to mutual dislike, the two girls eventually work through their differences after saving each other's lives and finding shelter. While they sit down at a campfire and open up to each other, Sam points out that while Star is dating Danny and is nicer to him, she has, at best, tolerated the former and Tucker and never apologized for how she used to treat them as an A-Lister. Star, realizing that Sam is right, genuinely apologizes to the goth girl, and by the end of the story, they make a truce for Danny's sake. Afterward, Star treats Sam and Tucker better, and Sam is more respectful of her relationship with Danny from then on.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other:
    • While her relationship with her mother is estranged and distant, Star still loves her deep down. While she was hurt and justifiably angry at Stella for leaving her and Johnathan for Jean-Luc and afterwards, being dismissive towards Danny, once she saw that her mother did care about her and was remorseful of her actions, Star decided to try and fix their relationship. While she admits that she still hasn't quite forgiven Stella yet, Star still cares enough to give her a second chance.
    • Despite originally being distant towards her half-brother, Pierre, Star does care about him and realizes that he is not to blame for what happened with her parents. The side story "Protected" is about her bonding more with Pierre while she babysits him.
  • Badass Adorable: Star is a pretty and perky cheerleader who Took a Level in Badass in this story series.
  • Ballet: She takes ballet lessons.
  • Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: She is the Beauty to Jazz's Brains and Sam's Brawn.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Played With. Star was originally a beautiful Beta Bitch who would look down and bully people like Danny and his friends because she considers herself better than them. But thanks to Character Development and her friendship with Danny, she becomes a nice girl who is considerate of others and willing to stand up to bullies to defend her new friends.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Part of the reason Star's opinion on Danny changes is because he not only saved her life despite how poorly she treated him in the past, but also treated her with the kindness and understanding that she never received from her popular friends. She later falls in love with him as a result.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Seems to be happening between Danny and Star, mostly on her part. By "Lost", they have a Relationship Upgrade.
  • Beneath the Mask: The first three stories showed that underneath the vain Beta Bitch seen in the series is a kind girl with a Freudian Excuse and lots of personal baggage. Thankfully, Danny manages to help bring the best out of her.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Anything to do with Jean-Luc or Colette, especially the latter.
    • Still being called a "satellite".
    • As shown in Forgotten, she does NOT like it when her boyfriend forgets important milestones, which Danny found out the hard way.
  • Betty and Veronica: Sam is the Betty (a childhood friend) while Star becomes the Veronica (a former Beta Bitch who mellows out) to Danny's Archie.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Star is a beautiful cheerleader who becomes a kinder and more considerate person, but she has a fierce temper and enough fighting skills to be compared to Kim Possible. If you try to mess with either her boyfriend, friends, or family, she's not afraid to inflict retribution.
  • The Big Damn Kiss:
    • Shares one with Danny near the end of Trapped, which also doubles as a Slap-Slap-Kiss.
    • Has another one with Danny after the climax in Lost, which leads to their Relationship Upgrade.
  • Big Eater: After leaving the A-listers, she becomes less diet conscious and willingly eats more. Justified, since she is stated to do a lot of exercise and burn lots of calories in the process.
    • It becomes a plot point in Empowered, where she gains 5 pounds due to eating more freely since her A-listers days.
  • Big Sister Instinct:
    • In "Found", she becomes very close to and protective of Danielle after learning of her relationship with Danny and goes out of her way to help her.
    • In the side-story "Protected", she babysits her half-brother Pierre and grows to really care about him. When Pierre is kidnapped, Star determinedly works to free him from the Ghost Zone and even beats his captor, Walker, senseless. She also becomes far more hostile towards Poindexter upon realizing his lack of backbone in not stopping the ghosts he worked for from taking Pierre, and Nocturn when he makes her brother one of his dream victims.
  • Birds of a Feather: She and Danny learn that they have more things in common than initially thought, such as liking the Dead Teacher movie franchise, and Star even liking his "unique" milkshakes.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: She's the blonde to Sam's brunette and Jazz's redhead.
  • Blunt "No": This is her response when guys other than Danny ask her out.
  • Break the Cutie: Her experience on Specter Island nearly broke her until Danny suggested a truce and they worked together.
  • Bridal Carry: She is often carried like this by Danny.
  • Broken Ace: Despite her popularity and academic success, she struggles to escape her selfish mean girl behavior, and has a strained relationship with her relatives.
  • Brutal Honesty: She's very open about her hatred for her stepsister Colette and most unwanted suitor, Donovan Loadman.
    • Star makes it very clear to Donovan he wouldn’t have a chance with her even if she were single because she’d just go out with a guy who’s not him, even if it's Tucker or Sidney Poindexter (not that she needs them to find out).
    • In “Barked”, Star doesn't hesitate to tell her mom that she has No Sympathy for Colette for being stuck in the hospital and has no plans to visit her stepsister because of all the trouble Colette causes Team Phantom on a regular basis.
    • In “Barked”, Star bluntly informs her mom that she’s counting down the days until her and her friends graduate high school so she’ll never see Colette ever again.
  • Calling the Old Man Out:
    • During Lost, after Danny leaves and she believes it's because of Stella and Jean-Luc's insults, Star calls her mother out on her vapidness and elitist attitude, as well as abandoning her family in favor of a shameless flirt.
    • In Bonding, she calls out both her parents for how the two continuously find excuses to keep bickering and being hateful towards each other, questioning how did they ever marry and have her in the first place. This incident, coupled with the country club under attack, is what convinced them to genuinely be civil with each other from now on.
  • The Cassandra: Zigzagged. Stella has trouble believing her about Jean-Luc being a shameless snobby flirt and Colette a manipulative brat who torments her stepsister for kicks. Even after her mother begins listening to her more and disciplining Colette, she still tries to brush off Star's complaints that her stepsister will never change and has been causing one mess after another because of her sense of entitlement, obsession with Danny, and petty feud with Team Phantom, and weakly convince her to get along with her stepfamily regardless of how openly terrible they act. However, Penelope Spectra implied Stella is more aware of the Beviers' flaws than she lets on but is in denial due to clinging to the fantasy of a happy family.
  • Character Development: One of the main focuses in the series is Star's own growth and development from a selfish, shallow, two-dimensional popular girl to a kinder, braver and overall better person.
    • By "Found", Star's development shows in how she treats Danielle. She doesn't hesitate to take care of the poor halfa girl upon discovering who she is and goes out of her way to feed her, get Dani a disguise to protect her from Vlad and even go after the bad guys who kidnapped her, solely on the grounds that Dani is an innocent kid and for other unselfish reasons, a stark contrast to the whiny, selfish girl at the beginning of "Stranded".
  • Clark Kenting: Somewhat better than Danny, since she slightly changes her hairstyle and uses a Domino Mask as Starlight Spirit, but she is still a blonde girl whose initials are S.S., and is in a relationship with a guy named Danny.
  • Class Princess: After leaving the A-Listers, Star slowly seems to be gaining this kind of status among her classmates. She stops being a Beta Bitch but remains a cheerleader and treats other much more kindly, with the exception of her stepsister and ex-friends.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: After they start dating, Star becomes jealous when another girl, like Sam, Colette, and Misty, shows interest in Danny. To her credit, her anger is directed at the girls, as she trusts Danny and in regards to Sam, she tries to be civil for the most part out of respect for him. However, in regards to Colette, she holds no such resistance only because Colette is just that frustrating.
  • Cool Big Sis:
    • Despite initially being distant towards him, Star does care about Pierre very much and in "Protected", she bonds with him and is shown to be fiercely protective of him. It's very telling when Pierre happily calls out Star's name when he starts talking.
    • While not related, she has shades of this in her interactions with Danielle in "Found".
  • Crappy Homemade Gift: She knitted a sweater for Danny in "Envied"... which wasn't her best work, to be honest.
  • Crossing the Burnt Bridge: Star admits that she did something bad in the past to her cousin Christopher and when she runs into him in the present, she realizes that she's going to have to settle things with him.
  • Cuddle Bug: She starts hugging Danny the closer they become. At first, he seems unsure what to think about it, but he begins to accept and return it once she becomes his girlfriend.
  • Cursed with Awesome: She temporarily gets ghost powers in “Swapped” and “Empowered” which she uses to become the superheroine Starlight Spirit.
  • Cute Ghost Girl: Briefly. When she had Danny's ghost powers and took the identity Starlight Spirit, she was very popular with boys.
  • Daddy's Girl: Star lives with her father and is closer to him than she is to her mother.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Star had a rough childhood, due to her parents divorcing after her mother ran away with a French Jerk and Star wound up getting a a cruel stepsister who made her life miserable. Her closest relationship was with her father, who sadly, had a very busy work schedule and couldn't spend as much time as he wanted to with her. By middle school, out of desperation to fit in, she joined the A-Listers and became a Beta Bitch that was seen in canon.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: Johnathan never liked Kwan, which was justified since he was a meat-headed bully who was a terrible boyfriend and a bad influence on Star, along with the rest of the A-Listers. Averted with Danny as Johnathan can tell he's a nice, well-meaning kid who cares about Star greatly and is a good influence on her.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She has her moments.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Star was at first as rude and dismissive as possible towards Danny, but their experience on the island, where they were force to work together, causes them to bond and makes her realize that she was mean to him for shallow reasons. She eventually becomes friends with and begins to develop feelings for him soon after.
  • Desperately Craves Affection: It's hinted that she might have some shades of this due to her family issues and the toxic relationships in her life.
  • Destructive Romance: She admits that Kwan was an awful boyfriend because he would ditch her to hang out with his fellow jocks or any girl that caught his eye, but the last straw was when he broke up with her to date Colette when they first met just because of her looks. It's implied that Star stayed with Kwan as long as she did primarily to prove a point, which wasn't beneficial for either of them.
  • Determinator: The second story Trapped has her grow determined to find out more about Danny and his secret. However by the end of the story, after they become friends, she accepts that Danny isn't ready to tell her his secret and settles for waiting for him to share it with her on his own. She still maintains her determination in the following stories, especially after Danny and her start dating, and she joins Team Phantom.
  • Devoted to You: She is very faithful and devoted to Danny after they become closer and start a relationship with each other. Star happily helps him out with his ghost hunting, schoolwork and she uses any opportunity possible to prove her love to Danny and make him happy. She sometimes even expresses a hope that she'll marry Danny when they are adults. Plus, Star not only expresses zero interest in other guys, but gets irritated when they hit on her despite knowing she has a boyfriend.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: She finds it hard to think when she sees Danny shirtless.
  • The Dog Bites Back: In “Visited”, she eventually gets completely sick of Donovan and her grandmother Beatrice treating her like a trophy to give away and gets restraining orders against both of them.
  • Domino Mask: She wears one as Starlight Spirit.
  • Drama Queen: She initially comes off as one in the first few stories. She outgrows it.
  • Dude Magnet: Many boys find her attractive, such as her boyfriend Danny, ex-boyfriend Kwan, Tucker, Dash, and Donovan. Poindexter and Shi also took an interest in her because of her resemblance to their respective crushes.
  • Dumb Blonde: Inverted. While a little perky and originally very shallow, Star is actually a fairly smart student with a B+ average, she was just forced to hide it and act like a spoiled mean girl to fit in with the A-listers. After publicly quitting the A-listers, she stops hiding her intelligence and works hard both in school and as a member of Team Phantom. Her adventures with the team prove her to be very sharp and clever.
  • Easily Forgiven: Subverted. Whenever Star tries to atone for her past as a Beta Bitch, it's made clear she has to put in the work to prove her redemption.
    • Due to their experience while stranded together, Danny is quick to sympathize with Star when he starts seeing past her mean girl facade, and is one of the first of her former victims to give her a chance after she leaves the A-Listers for good.
    • Tucker and Sam are more distrustful of Star, especially after she learns Danny's secret. While Tucker agrees to a truce when Star joins the team, Sam remains cold to her (though it's also due to her jealousy of Star's relationship with Danny). Once Star and Sam end up stranded together at Lake Eerie and open up, Star sincerely apologizes for not considering how she hurt Sam and Tucker in addition to Danny. After they work together, Sam accepts Star's olive branch. She eventually earns both their forgiveness.
    • Christopher refuses to forgive her for ditching him to be with the A-Listers despite her clear remorse and having since left them. With some help from Puck though, he comes to realize that there's no point in holding a grudge against Star anymore, especially after he witnesses her save a classmate's life, proving she has indeed become a better person. Chris finally accepts Star's apology and begins reconnecting with her.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Misty spitefully calls her "Princess".
  • Endearingly Dorky: She is shown to be a very sweet, charming, somewhat emotional girl who becomes all mushy around Danny.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Despite how vocal she was about her opinion on him, Star wasn't so ungrateful to Danny that she didn't hold onto him when she fell out of the boat.
    • Even as an A-Lister, Star didn't want to date someone as annoying as Dash. She also found Donovan Loadman and his snobby friends unbearable, with his Entitled to Have You attitude towards her certainly not helping matters.
    • As much as Star despises Donovan Loadman, even she agrees with him on Kwan being a moron.
    • As much as Star loves having ghost powers, she’s willing to give them up if it means Colette loses her powers too in “Empowered”.
    • As much as she hates her stepfamily with a burning passion, Star can understand and agree with Jean-Luc's reasons not to let Donovan Loadman marry Colette.
    • Star never liked Sam's parents when she was in the A-Listers and getting to know Sam better just made her like them even less.
  • Everyone Loves Blondes: She's blonde and seen as very attractive, especially to teenage boys.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: More jerks than evil, but Star cannot understand why Danny would care about her safety when all she has done is be mean to him and she was genuinely shocked when he asks her to keep his skills a secret, thus giving up a chance to be popular. By Trapped, she is slowly outgrowing this.
  • Excellent Judge of Character: Even at her snobbiest, she wanted nothing to do with Donovan Loadman because of how snobby, possessive and sexist he was towards her.
  • Expy: In many ways, Star is similar to Gwen Stacy, the iconic love interest of Spider-Man. Both are well-off, blonde, formerly haughty girls who learn to be more humble, are close to their fathers and are the Veronica to the other love interest's Betty in their Love Triangle.
  • Extremely Protective Child: To her father, Johnathan.
  • Fatal Attractor: In addition to Danny, she unfortunately caught the attention of Dash, Donovan, Poindexter, and Shi.
  • Feminine Mother, Tomboyish Daughter: Downplayed between Star and her mother, Stella. Star is a very feminine girl who enjoys cheerleading and fashion but she secretly becomes a Badass Normal ghost fighter, while her mother thinks fighting is unladylike.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The mature and hardworking Responsible Sibling to her stepsister Colette’s lazy and immature Foolish Sibling. Even Jean-Luc considers Star a more responsible babysitter for Pierre than his own daughter Colette.
  • Former Friend of Alpha Bitch: Star and Paulina are at each other's throats after the former recognizes how terrible a friend the latter is.
  • Freudian Excuse: Her parents are divorced and her mother lives in France with another man, while her father is a high-paying lawyer who, because of his career, does not spend a lot of time with her. It's mildly implied that Star's original bitterness was partially due to her familial situation.
  • Friend to All Children: She quickly bonds with Danielle in "Found".
  • Genki Girl: She does have moments like these, especially around Danny.
  • The Gentleman or the Scoundrel: Star develops an interest in the heroic Nice Guy Gentleman Danny Fenton and refuses to give the time of day to Scoundrels like Jerk Jock Dash Baxter, False Soulmate Kwan Li, or Spoiled Brat Donovan Loadman.
  • Girly Bruiser: Post-"Lost" stories show that she has become a much braver, selfless person and an Action Girl but she still retains her femininity.
  • Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: She's a very feminine cheerleader who knows some martial arts, does bowling, and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty if needed.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Even after she becomes a nicer person, she's still shown to have short temper and hold grudges against the people who wronged her.
  • Grew a Spine: A lot of Star's Character Development focuses on her becoming stronger and braver.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Post-character development, she's not the same bratty girl she was before. Danny's influence helps Star evolve past her shallow exterior and embrace her better traits, becoming a much more brave, selfless and caring girl.
  • Hates Their Parent:
    • In "Lost", after thinking that Danny left because of her mother and Jean-Luc's comments, Star ends up arguing with Stella, calling her out on all her faults. After Stella refuses to take responsibility for her actions, Star outright says she hates her before leaving to go find Danny. Thankfully, they start to reconcile after Star and Danny return in the end.
    • A grandparent variety with Beatrice. Star has never looked forward to her grandmother's visits because of Beatrice's overbearing, judgmental, critical, and impossible-to-please attitude to the point she doesn’t have anything good to say about her. This evolves into pure hatred in “Visited” when Beatrice reveals herself to be an abusive Control Freak by trying to force Star to break up with Danny and be with her most despised Abhorrent Admirer, Donovan Loadman, who’s fine with hitting Star for opposing him, just because he’s from an Old Money family and even plans to make Star live with her in New York to mold her into her idea of a Proper Lady. It ends with Star getting restraining orders against both of them and threatening Beatrice into staying out of her life for good or else Team Phantom will pay make her severely regret it.
  • Head-Turning Beauty: Many people have commented about her beauty.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Valerie.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • She is a skilled bowler, takes ballet and is very athletic, the latter of which helps with her ghost fighting.
    • She has a deep love and talent for drawing, even wanting to be a sketch artist when she grows up. For her talent act in the Miss Teen Amity Park pageant, she paints a replica of Starry Night.
    • She reveals in "Trapped" that she likes video games and collects antique dolls.
    • She seems to be a fan of the Friday the 13th film series.
    • She is multilingual and claims to know Spanish, French, German and Japanese, since according to her, her father believed that it would benefit her.
    • In "Stuck", she seems to like drinking Danny's "unique" milkshakes such as kiwi fudge and cheese puffs & bacon.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: She becomes one to Danny after joining Team Phantom.
  • Idiot Ball: While she has gained a significant amount of Character Development and is much smarter than she looks, she still has some ditzy or bratty moments here and there:
    • In Envied, she makes a terrible homemade sweater as a gift for Danny and doesn't see its poor quality until Shi and Misty both point it out.
    • In Empowered, she carelessly went on a crash diet in order to lose weight (for the second time), not realizing how damaging it could be on her body until Danny, Valerie, and Dr. Sampson called her out on it.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: She has turquoise-blue eyes and transitions into a sweeter, kinder girl.
  • Insecure Love Interest: She has shades of this around Danny at times, which stems from her disappointing past relationships and troubled family history.
  • In the Blood: It seems she got her assertiveness from her father and her (initial) shallowness from her mother.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: It's implied that she has this with Georgia, her housekeeper.
  • Interspecies Romance: With Danny, a half-ghost.
  • Intimate Artistry: A mild case. Her replica of Starry Night includes silhouettes of her and Danny.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: In “Barked”, Star makes it crystal clear to her mom she’ll never get along with Colette because they hate each other too much for that to ever happen.
  • Jerkass Realization:
    • When Danny asks Star why they don't get along in school, she realizes that aside from the Happy Princess Beauty Pageant incident last semester, he never did anything to her personally, and feels guilty when she realizes that she only mistreated Danny because Dash and Paulina disliked him and his friends, which she realizes are shallow reasons.
    • After Sam opens up to her, Star realizes that although she and Danny have grown very close, she never properly apologized to his friends, only tolerating them at best. As such, she apologizes to Sam for her past behavior.
  • Jerkass to One: While she has come to hate the A-listers for being lousy former friends, she hates Colette the most. It's justified, due to Colette's horrible treatment of her.
  • Laser Sword: After joining Team Phantom, she seems fond of using a weapon similar to a lightsaber whenever she fights ghosts.
  • Laugh of Love: She tends to giggle and laugh whenever she has romantic moments with Danny.
  • Like Parent, Like Child: Her father is a very assertive, no-nonsense lawyer, which may be where she gets her own assertiveness from. Her mother is also spoiled and shallow, who tends to look down on those of lower status, just like Star (initially) was.
  • Like Parent, Like Spouse: Danny's mother Maddie is an Action Girl ghost hunter, and he is currently dating Star, who is also an action girl.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: It's heavily implied that this is part of the reason she joined the A-Listers in the first place.
  • Love Redeems: Her growing friendship with and attraction to Danny is what made her change for the better and quit the A-listers for good.
  • Love Triangle: Both she and Sam are romantically interested in Danny, though they eventually reach a truce for his sake once he begins dating Star.
  • Lust Object: Star gets a lot of this attention from boys, including Tucker, Kwan, Donovan and Poindexter.
  • Mama Bear: In "Found", she becomes one towards Danielle. When the Guys In White capture Dani, Star teams up with Valerie to rescue her.
  • Misery Builds Character: Star's experiences on the Island and forcing her to depend on Danny made her realize the faults in herself and work to become a better person.
  • Morality Pet:
    • To her mother Stella. Stella falls pretty squarely into Obnoxious Entitled Housewife territory but genuinely loves Star and her Jerkass Realization about how poorly she's acted in regards to her daughter prompts the beginning of her Character Development.
    • To Valerie. In "Lost" and Dressed, Star recalls that even when they were A-Listers, Valerie was a much more genuine friend to her than Dash and Paulina. They remained friends after Valerie was kicked out of the clique and Star is eventually able to break through her hatred of ghosts enough to make her take an honest look at her own actions. This leads to a Heel Realization and Valerie becoming an ally of Team Phantom.
    • After being talked into it, she resolves to be this for her half-brother Pierre, hoping to be a positive influence that keeps him from turning out like Jean-Luc and Colette.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Star didn't have her last name confirmed in the series. Since her second voice actress was Tara Strong, this was the name chosen.
  • Nasal Trauma: The in-universe explanation for why her nose looked different early in the canon series is that Colette broke her nose by throwing a book at her.
  • "Near and Dear" Baby Naming: "Traveled" reveals her middle name Joy is after her paternal grandmother.
  • Nice Girl: After she leaves the A-listers, Star becomes a much kinder, likable, and caring person who is very devoted to her boyfriend and her friends.
  • Nice to the Waiter: Like her father, she is nice to her housekeeper Georgia and got mad when the Guys In White insulted her. Star even regards her as a best friend and family member.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: On the delivering end twice:
    • In “Envied”, she delivers one to a frozen Shi.
    • In “Empowered”, she gives a brutal one to Colette after they both lose their ghost powers.
  • Official Couple: With Danny.
  • Omniglot: It is stated in "Stuck" that she speaks English, Spanish, French, German and Japanese.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: In Dressed, Star is so stressed out from preparing for the pageant while dealing with Stella's Stage Mom antics that she snaps at her father and Georgia, and even goes as far as throwing Valerie's Missing Mom in her face; which are things even the increasingly worn down Star soon realizes she would never consider doing. It's revealed her feelings were being aggravated by Ms. Stone aka Spectra.
  • Opposites Attract: Star is a rich, popular and headstrong cheerleader who becomes friends with and later falls in love with the shyer, unpopular and middle-class Danny Fenton.
  • Passionate Sports Girl: She is a cheerleader who enjoys dancing and also jogs in her spare time.
  • Pervert Revenge Mode: She slaps Donovan Loadman and stomps on his foot in “Visited” as payback for trying to give her a Forceful Kiss.
  • Plot Allergy: "Staged" reveals that Star (as well as her mother and Beatrice) is allergic to pigweed.
  • Plucky Girl: After her Character Development, she remains determined and hopeful in most situations.
  • Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure: Because she's spent most of her life either sheltered or with the A-listers, Star has a limited understanding of most of Danny's pop-culture references.
  • Power at a Price: In “Empowered”, she finds out the hard way that one downside of having ghost powers is they burn a lot of calories and thus make you hungrier the more you use them, especially if you don't eat properly filling meals.
  • Redemption Promotion: Star becomes a much stronger, braver, and more capable person after ditching the A-Listers to join Team Phantom, especially when it comes to helping them hunt ghosts.
  • Reformed Bully: She was the Beta Bitch who looked down on Danny and his friends. After her experience on Specter Island and growing closer to Danny, she drops this behavior and becomes much kinder as a person overall.
  • Reformed, but Not Tamed: While she has gained plenty of Character Development and has become a much better person, Star does still have moments of lapse in judgement or some of her previous bratty behavior resurfaces.
    • She acted extremely hostile towards Solene in Unprepared and mistreated her out of sheer paranoia and jealousy. In the same fic, she had no qualms in bossing Danny around and making him spy on Solene, getting angry when he tried to point out that Solene is a good person.
  • Relationship Upgrade: She and Danny have one near the end of "Lost".
  • Rescue Romance: Danny saving her life several times in “Stranded” and “Trapped” have made Star grow very interested in him.
  • The Resenter: Star has had an incredibly strained relationship with her mother Stella for years for leaving her father Johnathan for her slimeball new husband Jean-Luc and neglecting her in favor of showing blind favoritism to Star's abusive stepsister, Colette. They’re working on fixing their relationship but it is far from easy.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Inverted. In “Trapped”, Star threatens to have her father sue the school and Mr. Lancer unless he stops favoring the A-Listers and punishes them for their bullying.
  • Secret Diary: She has one.
  • Secret-Keeper: Star vows to never tell anyone Danny's secret without his permission. It goes so far that she won't even write down anything about it in her diary on the off chance that someone could find it.
  • Seduction-Proof Marriage: A dating variety but while Star has a lot of male admirers who try to pursue her, she only has eyes for Danny.
  • Sheltered Aristocrat: Downplayed, but she is from a well-to-do family and originally was somewhat naive about the real world. Thankfully, she is outgrowing this thanks to Danny and their friends' influence.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • She knows that it's impossible, but deep down, part of her has hoped her parents would make amends. By the end of "Unprepared" though, she comes to accept that they are interested in other people.
      • It takes a while, but Star ultimately becomes supportive of her father dating Solene after getting to know the woman.
    • She seems okay with the possibility of Christopher and Sam becoming an item after Star learns about his interest in her. Even before that, Star was giddy at Sam having a Secret Admirer.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Stepsisters Star and Colette hate each other and compete for things, with Colette usually winning due to Stella taking her side (at first).
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: Her relationship with Danny sometimes has moments like this, acting very lovey-dovey with each other.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: After they get together, she considers Danny her soulmate and ignores all other boys who hit on her.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Star falls deeply in love with Danny Fenton, who she comes to realize is a good person with the smarts, courage and compassion she fails to receive from the A-listers.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: With Sam. They're both competitive and eager to trade verbal, and eventually physical blows, in regards to Danny. They finally come to an understanding in "Stuck".
  • Slap-Slap-Kiss: Literal example in “Trapped”. Star slaps Danny twice for two things that genuinely angered her before she becomes very affectionate and kisses him.
  • Smarter Than You Look: She's a lot smarter than initially believed, being quite Book Smart and resourceful. She demonstrates her worldliness and general intelligence more often as the series progresses.
  • Smitten Teenage Girl: Star is very much affectionate towards Danny now that they're dating.
  • Spoiled Brat: She was initially this. Thankfully, she grew out of this behavior.
  • Spoiled Sweet: After befriending Danny and quitting the A-listers, Star becomes a kinder and friendlier person despite still being pampered and having a temper.
    • In Found, she wants to buy a pair of expensive boots for Valerie, who couldn't afford them. While Valerie insists that she doesn't want charity from her, Star still plans to give the boots to her for her birthday. Star has also become more selfless and brave, to the point where she doesn't hesitate to save Dani from danger.
      • Also, it's revealed that she seems to get over $200 a week for her shopping budget and has access to some credit cards. The "sweet" part comes when she uses most of her allowance to replace the Fenton's window after it got broken by the robot and also gave what remained of her allowance to Dani before parting ways with her.
  • Spy Catsuit: She is not a spy, but wears a jumpsuit when she is on duty with Danny.
  • Strong Family Resemblance:
    • It's stated that Star looks a lot like her mother, Stella.
    • She and Pierre are also stated to look somewhat alike, due to Pierre also resembling Stella.
  • Stronger Than They Look: Star is shown to be very strong and athletic due to her taking dance, cheerleading, and martial arts.
  • Superior Successor: She’s considered this to Danny’s past love interests since Star lacks their negative qualities like Sam’s grumpiness, Paulina's shallowness (anymore), and Valerie’s hatred of ghosts.
  • Sweet Tooth: She seems to be fond of chocolate and ice cream.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Okay, more of a Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak but Star is more feminine than Valerie and Sam.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: She was a snarky Beta Bitch who hid her loneliness and frustrations with a snobby attitude. After she gets involved with Danny and she works on her family issues, she mellows out and becomes a more positive and cheerful person overall.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Star Strong, in the first two stories, goes from a selfish, shallow, spoiled brat who looks down on and bullies those that are below her, to a kind and caring girl willing to defend others.
  • Totally Trusting Love Interest: Star knows Danny is completely faithful to her and never gets mad at him when girls like Ember, Misty, Paulina, Colette, or Vivian hit on or kiss him because she knows he’d never be interested in them.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: In “Cursed”, it's revealed that chocolate cheesecake is one of her favorite desserts. In "Sunk", it's shown that her favorite ice cream is chocolate-vanilla swirl.
  • Trophy Wife: Averted. Both Donovan Loadman and Beatrice wanted her to become this by marrying into the Loadman family, but Star vehemently refused.
  • Tsundere: Most of Star's hostility towards Danny in "Trapped" is due to her growing attraction to him. She drops this trait after they get together.
  • Turned Off By The Jerkass: Even during her A-Lister days, she found Dash Baxter and Donovan Loadman way too annoying and immature to date (the latter's Entitled to Have You and Not Good with Rejection attitude certainly didn’t help). She also completely lost interest in Kwan for being a terrible boyfriend and clueless Peer-Pressured Bully that’s subservient to the A-Listers.
  • The Unfavorite: Despite being the biological daughter, Star is often overlooked by Stella in favor of Colette.
    • Thankfully, this is averted in post-"Lost" stories. After being called out by Star over her actions, Stella truly comes to regret how she treated her daughter and has since been making sincere attempts to fix their relationship. In addition, she begins disciplining Colette more.
  • Unishment: When Star reveals to her father that she got herself and Danny trapped in school in “Trapped”, he punishes her by grounding her for the weekend and forbidding her from going to Paulina's party. However, not even wanting to go to the party in the first place and happy she can spend time with her father, Star does not consider this a punishment at all.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Star was once a kind, innocent girl as a child. However, her parents' divorce and her mother's corrupting influence and actions caused her to become insecure enough to befriend toxic friends and develop into a selfish, shallow, two-dimensional mean girl.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: After they become a couple, Star becomes very protective of Danny and is willing to face anyone who tries to mess with him — Dash, Skulker, Vlad, Colette, Misty, etc.
  • Well, Excuse Me, Princess!: The first two stories had her coming off as this, usually around Danny. She gets better, though.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: She has more maturity and common sense than her spoiled, ditzy socialite mother, even after Stella's Character Development.
  • Wedding Ring Defense: A dating variety, but she is always quick to point out to her admirers that she is in a relationship with Danny.
  • What You Are in the Dark:
    • Despite Danny urging her to leave and being scared out of her wits, Star refuses to abandon him at the mercy of a ghost when given the chance to run and hide.
    • In "Lost", Star, unaware that they are the same person, turns down Danny Phantom when he says he has feelings for her, because she already has feelings for Danny Fenton.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: She foolishly went on a crash diet in Empowered and nearly starved herself due to wanting to lose weight. Danny, Valerie and everyone else call her out on such careless actions.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She has an extreme fear of snakes. Her eventual falling for Danny and becoming more civil with Sam started because they saved her from snake bites.
  • With Friends Like These...: As Danny points out in “Trapped”, the A-Listers don't care about Star, telling her what she can and can't do. Paulina did not even care that Star was trapped in the school, only focusing on Star missing a party and making her look bad. Realizing Danny was right, Star unfriends Paulina and quits the A-Listers.
  • Women Prefer Strong Men: Star grows to respect Danny for his bravery and survival skills. Meanwhile, she finds Kwan Li pathetic with his constant bowing down to the A-Listers and refusal to stand up for her, and despises Donovan Loadman even more after he shows how much of a Dirty Coward he is when he flees from the Ghost Bat in "Visited".
  • Would Rather Suffer: Star would rather date Tucker, Sidney Poindexter, or a ghost bat than Donovan Loadman.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: In “Trapped”, Danny assures Star that the real her who isn't trying to be an A-Lister is a much better person.
  • You Are What You Hate: Star has a very distant, complicated relationship with her mother Stella and an outright hatred for her stepsister Colette prior to the fic series and during it. Both Stella and Colette are spoiled, elitist women don't care how their actions hurt others as long as they get their way, and Star resented both of them deeply. However, before her character development, she was no better as their influence made her insecure enough to pursue popularity in school by joining a group of bullies, who negatively influenced her further. Thankfully, Star changed due to her relationship with Danny. In "Stuck," she acknowledges and admits to Sam that Danny saved her from a life of being a spoiled brat who put too much value on looks, money, clothes, and status, much like her mother and stepsister.
  • You Monster!: She outright calls Beatrice pure evil and makes it clear she never wants her grandmother to get involved in her life ever again because Star completely hates her now.
