Casper High

    Mr. Lancer

  • Adults Are Useless: He tends to favor the popular students over Danny and his friends. That is, until Star threatens to have the school sued for it.
  • Character Development: Gradually, he stops letting the A-listers off the hook and starts holding them more accountable for their actions.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Mr. Lancer may have some favoritism towards the A-listers, but he will not give them parts in his play unless they prove that they earned it. He was amused by Paulina's cheer routine during her audition but refused to give her a part due to how ridiculous she was behaving. Mr. Lancer also explains to Danny and Star that despite Dash's abysmal performance, the only reason he gave the latter a part in the play was not out of favoritism but because he'd hoped it would make Dash take it seriously and actually learn something, and makes it clear that he is not happy with his decision.
      • He also apparently can't be bought. When Colette attempts to bribe him (with $500) for the lead role of Hermia, Mr. Lancer is outraged and refuses her outright. While this may be partially due to Star blackmailing him to no longer favor the A-listers under the threat of a lawsuit, his anger and outrage were genuine.
      • To a lesser extent, Mr. Lancer no longer has any patience for Paulina or Dash acting entitled. He refuses to budge when Paulina threatens to sue him due to not getting a role in the play, since he knows that she has NO legal grounds and is just being a Spoiled Brat.
    • He won't tolerate any fighting from the parents of Team Phantom.
  • Post-Support Regret: In "Staged", after seeing Dash's and Paulina's atrocious auditions, he can't help but think that karma has come for allowing them to run rampant with their bullying.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Since he no longer favors the A-listers (due to Star's threat of a lawsuit), Mr. Lancer has become more strict with them, and it shows during the auditions for the school play. He allows everyone in school the chance to audition and watches and judges each student based on their skills and how well they perform. He also assigns roles to those whose skills he believes merit them. He refuses to favor or be intimidated by Paulina and Colette when they either threaten to sue him or attempt to bribe him to get parts, putting his foot down and threatening to punish them for their actions.
  • Serious Business: Due to Mr. Lancer's love of literature and theater, he takes his job as the director of the school play VERY seriously. He also offers extra credit to students who have roles in the play and chooses them based on their skills and how well they perform. The only exception is Dash, who gave a lousy audition, but Mr. Lancer gave him a part in order to MAKE Dash take the play seriously in the hope that he'll actually learn something about it.

    Paulina Sanchez

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Danny regards her as this after finally seeing how unpleasant and annoying she is underneath her beauty. Plus, her obsession with his ghost-self has quickly stopped being endearing and now just creeps him out.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: It never gets through Paulina's thick skull that Danny Phantom doesn't like her, no matter how many times he tells her or the fact that he already has a girlfriend.
  • Alpha Bitch: She is the most popular girl at Casper High and she is as shallow as a puddle.
  • Always Second Best: It kills her that nothing she does can get Danny Phantom’s attention, especially since he started going out with Starlight Spirit.
  • Attempted Homewrecker: She thinks she can steal Danny Phantom from Starlight Spirit and make him hers because in Paulina's warped mind, they're meant for each other. Not that Danny would want anything to do with her even if he was single since nowadays, he only considers her slightly less of a nuisance than Colette at best.
  • Attention Whore: She loves the spotlight as much as Colette and frequently fights with her over it.
  • Beauty Breeds Laziness: She'd rather have nerds like Mikey do all her homework for her.
    • In "Cursed", Sam mentions that Paulina refused to pull any of her weight when they were partnered for an English assignment because "writing would ruin her manicure".
  • Beauty Is Bad: Downplayed. She's considered one of the prettiest girls in Casper High but is a snobby Alpha Bitch who Team Phantom can stand even less than their ghostly enemies, though she is not as bad as Colette.
  • Berserk Button: The notion of Starlight Spirit being Danny Phantom's girlfriend.
  • Book Dumb: She not only performs a cheerleading routine for her audition of Lancer's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, but she recites a quote from Hamlet, the wrong Shakespeare play. Unlike with Dash, she was so bad Lancer didn't give her any role.
  • The Bore: Nobody ever wants to hear her talk about herself or her obsession with Danny Phantom, not even Stella or the A-Listers, since that’s all she ever wants to talk about.
  • Brainless Beauty: She places far more value on looks and status than brains or hard work. Anyone who's dealt with her vanity and self-centeredness has a low opinion of her intelligence, especially Team Phantom and Colette.
  • Bright Is Not Good: Downplayed but while not evil, she's a major Jerkass who loves wearing pink.
  • Can't Take Criticism:
    • She throws a huge tantrum when Lancer refuses to give her the lead role of Hermia (well, any role) in the school play because of her horrible audition.
    • In “Empowered”, Paulina throws her low-fat frozen yogurt at Dash hard enough to knock him down when he points out to her that she has no hope of stealing Danny Phantom from Starlight Spirit.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Toward Danny since her looks have stopped making him ignore all her negative qualities like her shallowness, snobbery, narcissism, and creepy obsession with his ghost side, as well as her utter disregard towards his girlfriend.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She's this to Danny Phantom, much to his annoyance as Paulina doesn't care if he's already in a relationship with Starlight Spirit and deludes herself into thinking she can steal him from Starlight. She also did NOT take seeing Danny Phantom flirting with Star at the end of "Lost" well.
  • Cruel Cheerleader: She's captain of the cheerleading squad and a self-centered mean girl through and through.
  • Damsel in Distress: She actually loves being this since it gives her an excuse to see Danny Phantom, much to his revulsion since he'd rather focus on saving lives then being hit on by his most obnoxious admirer.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype: Of the Fangirl, Loves My Alter Ego, and Clingy Jealous Girl. While Danny was initially attracted to Paulina for her beauty and flattered by her crush on his ghost-self in the beginning, since he appreciated that she was the one first people to realize he’s a hero, the novelty left and he’s noticed that her crush has grown into an unhealthy obsession. This irritates even the people around her since Paulina refuses to leave Danny Phantom alone even when he’s dating Starlight Spirit and her horrible treatment of his human-self makes Danny give up on her for good when he realizes that underneath her good looks, she’s just an unbearably snooty Spoiled Brat who’s too shallow to like him for anything other than his ghost powers. Thus, he refuses to have anything to do with Paulina anymore unless it’s to save her, but he still rushes to get far away from her when he can.
  • Dirty Coward: She tries to use Colette as a shield against Penelope Spectra in "Dressed". Granted, the French brat was trying to do the same thing to her.
  • Dramatic Irony: Paulina thinks Star and Danny are perfect for each other because they're both losers, all while nursing a hopeless crush on Danny Phantom. Both are unaware that Star has been nursing a crush on Danny Fenton, Danny Phantom's true identity, and grown very close to him.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: She may be a Brainless Beauty but even she can tell that Colette's growing obsession with Danny is getting out of control and soon refuses to be further involved with her schemes to break him and Star up.
  • Entitled to Have You: Not as bad as Colette or Vlad, but Paulina definitely shows this with Danny Phantom as she's fine with trying to steal him from Starlight Spirit due to seeing him as her true love and is too dense to notice he can't stand her.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Paulina won't date a fellow A-lister's ex-boyfriend until at least 3 months after their relationship's end and Star holds it as a reason to consider her better than Colette.
    • In "Traveled", Paulina starts to become concerned with how far Colette is going with her obsession for Danny. In "Golden", she refuses to help Colette sabotage Star's relationship with Danny anymore and even tells her she went too far by following them to New York.
    • In "Blackmailed", she refuses to get involved in any more of Colette's schemes because her obsession with Danny even after he rejected her is getting too weird for Paulina.
    • Team Phantom admit she’s not nasty enough to completely ruin someone’s life like Colette would.
    • After Paulina shares with her fellow A-Listers her suspicions that Colette might have done something illegal to force Danny to date her, she convinces them to kick Colette out of the A-List if that is the case because they don't want a criminal in the group at risk of going to jail.
  • Eviler than Thou: Played for Laughs. Even Ember finds her unbearably annoying to the point she's happy to help Danny hide from Paulina in "Boxed". He's willing to accept and would rather deal with Ember than Paulina because she's just THAT bothersome, something even Ember lampshades.
  • False Friend:
    • To Star, who comes to realize that Paulina doesn't care about her or even really know her, and just expects Star to be her "satellite". She later reflects that their friendship was only for appearances' sake.
    • With Colette. While they have a lot in common and put on a united front with the A-listers, it's clear they largely "befriended" each other for their social standing and to spite Star, as they only seem to get along when they're bullying her. In fact, Paulina and Colette secretly despise each other, always trying to one-up the other and being quick to turn on their new "best friend" when things go wrong.
  • Fangirl: Possibly Danny Phantom's biggest one, bordering on Loony Fan. Paulina keeps a Stalker Shrine of him in her locker, collects every piece of his merchandise she can get her hands on, and is even willing to put herself in danger in hopes of attracting the ghost boy's attention. Her fixation with Danny creeps him out and irritates everyone who has to put up with her endless fawning over the ghost boy.
  • Foil: To Colette. Colette is a French girl who has a crush on Danny Fenton and has never gotten along with Star while Paulina is a Hispanic girl born in Amity Park who has a crush on Danny Phantom and used to be friends with Star. Paulina is a Brainless Beauty while Colette is both academically and socially intelligent.
  • Genki Girl: She's this whenever Danny Phantom is involved.
  • Hates My Secret Identity: Played with in Star's case, as Paulina hates both her civilian identity and her Starlight Spirit alter ego.
  • High Hopes, Zero Talent: In "Staged", Paulina arrogantly believes she can get the lead female role of Hermia in Lancer's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, but utterly blows her audition due to her cluelessness and ego.
  • Hopeless Suitor: She can't figure out that she doesn't have a chance with Danny Phantom or that he finds her completely irritating.
  • Hypocrite:
    • She accuses Starlight Spirit of being a "boyfriend stealer" for dating Danny Phantom even though, as he points out, he and Paulina were never going out in the first place and she has no problem trying to steal him from Starlight.
    • Paulina scoffs at Colette's growing obsession with Danny and comes to find it creepy and unhealthy, but doesn't notice that she acts in a similar manner toward his ghost-half.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point: The above mentioned hypocrisy aside, she is right that Colette's fixation with Danny is becoming a huge problem, as he's already made it clear he's not interested in her and never will be.
  • Insufferable Imbecile: Colette and Team Phantom regard her as this for being a complete airhead who obsesses over her looks and Danny Phantom.
  • It's All About Me:
    • Paulina refuses to change the cheer the squad have been using when Star finds it underwhelming, because she was the one who made it.
    • For her talent act in the Miss Teen Amity Park pageant, Paulina recites a poem she wrote about herself.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: Colette quickly proves to be a much worse Abhorrent Admirer and Alpha Bitch than Paulina ever was with her downright sociopathic behavior. Team Phantom even acknowledge that for all of Paulina's faults, she would never go as far as Colette to get what she wants.
  • Loves My Alter Ego: With Danny Phantom, just like in canon. Paulina is very attracted to him and is his self-proclaimed biggest fan, but is disgusted to even be associated with Danny Fenton. Deconstructed as this attitude is only further proof to Danny of her shallowness since she only pines after him for his ghost powers so she was never worth liking in the first place. Even worse as she refuses to move on from her infatuation even when Phantom is dating someone else.
  • Loving a Shadow: Deconstructed as it became clear to Danny that Paulina only cares about his superhero side, so he lost interest in her for being too shallow to like him for anything but his ghost powers.
  • Loony Fan: Everyone finds her pathetic for her one-sided fixation with Danny Phantom, which is borderline obsessive. Even her fellow A-Listers grow bored listening to all her stories about the ghost boy and can’t stand her whining about him dating Starlight Spirit.
  • Money Dumb: She spent $5,000 on a Halloween costume. Not to mention the loads of Danny Phantom merchandise she purchases.
  • Mutually Unequal Relation: She sees Danny Phantom as her soulmate but he just finds her extremely off-putting because of her snobby and clingy personality.
  • Oblivious to Hatred: She's convinced she is destined to be with her ghost boy, being too ditzy and full of herself to understand that he has come to despise her. Phantom doesn't want to give her the time of day unless it's to save her and even then, he would rather get away from her as soon as possible.
  • Pet the Dog: She was one of the first people to recognize that Danny is a hero when he saved her. While Danny appreciates this, it doesn't stop him from finding her extremely annoying because of her toxic personality.
  • Pink Means Feminine: She wears an expensive pink dress for the beauty pageant in "Dressed". Also, her Halloween costume in "Costumed" is a very pink princess outfit.
  • Popular Is Dumb: She's the head cheerleader and queen of the A-Listers as well as a Brainless Beauty.
  • Proud Beauty: She's way too proud of her looks and is more open about her vanity than Colette.
  • Psychological Projection: She calls Starlight Spirit a "boyfriend stealer" for dating Danny Phantom when Paulina is the one who's trying to steal Starlight's boyfriend. This just serves as further proof to Team Phantom that she's almost as delusional and pathetic as Colette.
  • The Rival: She soon becomes this to Colette for the status of the most popular girl at Casper High, with the two fiercely competing with each other in events like the Miss Teen Amity Park Beauty Pageant and a Halloween costume contest.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In Sunk, she refused to help with Dash's further attempts to humiliate Danny and Star after learning the water balloons they planned to throw at their targets had another liquid instead of water.
  • Self-Proclaimed Love Interest: She constantly claims to be Danny Phantom's soulmate, but everyone around her can tell she's just a deluded fangirl that has an unhealthy, one-sided crush on the ghost boy.
  • Shallow Cannot Comprehend True Love: She’s too narcissistic to accept she doesn’t have a chance with Danny Phantom even if he wasn’t with Starlight Spirit, incapable of understanding why he (or any boy, for that matter) wouldn't welcome her advances.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: As far as she's concerned, Danny Phantom is the ONLY guy for her. Danny does not appreciate this.
  • Skewed Priorities: When Star is grounded in “Trapped” and texts Paulina that she can't go to her party, Paulina is only annoyed that she won't be there and even suggests she sneak out, not caring that Star was trapped inside the school. This angers Star and is a factor in her quitting the A-Listers.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: She thinks having a wealthy family and being "Queen of the A-Listers" make her royalty and that Danny Phantom is the only guy worthy of her.
  • Spicy Latina: She's Hispanic and VERY stubborn.
  • Spoiled Brat: Her rich parents spoil her heavily, which contributes to her bitchy personality.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Not on Colette's level but she definitely has an unhealthy obsession with Danny Phantom and refuses to leave him alone no matter how much he rejects her or is already in a relationship with Starlight Spirit.
  • Tender Tomboyishness, Foul Femininity: She's an Alpha Bitch obsessed with boys, fashion, and cheerleading while Sam Manson is a goth Action Girl who at worst is a Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Extremely downplayed but by the time of “Blackmailed”, Paulina becomes so creeped out by Colette’s unhealthy obsession with Danny that she refuses to help her anymore in trying to split up him and Star, regardless of how much Colette pays or manipulates the A-Listers. Paulina even tells Colette that she went too far by following Danny all the way to New York in “Traveled”. She also convinces the other A-Listers to kick Colette out of the group and turn her in to the police if they gather evidence of her resorting to illegal methods to get her way because Paulina doesn’t want to associate with a criminal.
  • Too Much Alike: Probably why she and Colette hate each other, as they are both spoiled Daddy's Girls and stuck-up, unpleasant Alpha Bitches who are obsessed with being above everyone else and hopelessly fixated on a boy out of their reach.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: She encouraged Star and Valerie's negative qualities by having them act as snobby and arrogant as herself.
  • Turned Off By The Jerkass: Even she considers Dash Baxter too much of a boorish meathead to date.
  • Unrequited Love Switcheroo: In season 1, Danny had a big crush on Paulina but moved on when he saw firsthand her unpleasant personality, along with her making it clear she saw him as a loser and only went out with him to spite Sam. Paulina later developed a crush on Danny Phantom because he saved her but he won't give her the time of day now as he finds her unbearable, which her obsessive fangirlism only makes worse as she can't take the hint that he doesn't like her.
  • Wasted Beauty: While Danny admits she is hot, he finds her unbearably annoying because of her narcissistic and obsessive nature, to the point that he vastly prefers Ember's company over Paulina's.
  • We Used to Be Friends: The end of Trapped has Star end their friendship when it was clear Paulina didn't care for her well-being. Afterwards, Paulina even refers to her as a "traitor".
  • With Us or Against Us: As far as she and the A-Lister’s are concerned, you’re only a “friend” if you’re in the A-List and they regard Star as a traitor for leaving them to be part of Team Phantom.

    Dash Baxter

  • 0% Approval Rating: Nobody can stand him after seeing how much of a dimwitted jerk he is. Even the A-Listers have a low opinion of him because of his stupidity and boorishness, but tolerate him for his looks, football skills, and connections to his uncle, who also happens to be the superintendent.
  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • He makes a genuine offer to Star that will allow her back into the A-Listers if she became his girlfriend. She refuses, admitting she never actually liked him even before the incident on the island. He also becomes this to Star's superhero alter ego Starlight Spirit in "Swapped" but she harshly turns down his advances by saying she doesn't date "meatheads".
    • He makes frequent attempts to hit on Colette, who regards him as an idiot and a waste of her time. It's the only thing that Danny agrees with her on.
    • Michelle was willing to go on a date with him since he kept insistently asking her out for two weeks in a row, but ended up hating his guts after he humiliated them both by getting them in trouble with security at a show she wanted to see. Harassing Danny and Star at Michelle's Halloween party didn't help since she just had her bouncer throw him out.
  • Amazon Chaser: He develops a crush Star’s superheroine persona Starlight Spirit, much to her revulsion as she instantly turns him down when he tries one of his cheesy pickup lines on her.
  • Attention Whore: He's always seeking to be the center of attention in some way. He also can’t stand anyone, especially Danny, getting more attention from attractive girls like Star and Colette than him.
  • Big Jerk on Campus: Dash is the most popular guy in Casper High due to being a star quarterback, and he is definitely not nice because he likes picking on anyone he sees as weaker or less popular than him. Needless to say, he is a total jerk. He’s a jerk and a bully to the unpopular kids, and he believes that because he’s a star athlete, he could get away with that and get special treatment. Unfortunately, the school agrees; the teachers often let him bully other kids and let him get away with his bad behavior. Fortunately, because of a lawsuit threat, the teacher stops favoring him and the other A-Listers, and he is finally punished for his actions. It’s implied that he is slowly losing his popularity because his classmates are sick of how much of a jerk and bully he is. Finally, Dash is aware that his popularity and good times are only going to last in high school, and he’s in for a bad future; a lot of characters don’t have any sympathy for him because he brings it on himself for being such a selfish jerk for not working on changing his future and being better.
  • Boisterous Weakling: He talks a big game but turns into a sniveling coward when confronted by actual threats like ghosts.
  • Book Dumb:
    • He can't even properly recite a single line from Shakespeare for the play A Midsummer Night's Dream. Lancer only gave Dash a role to force him to improve because he needed a decent performance to get the extra credit.
    • He doesn't know what "divide and conquer" means and thinks it's a math term.
  • Card-Carrying Jerkass: He's a bully and proud of it.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Fancies himself a ladies man but none of the girls he hits on like him. Paulina only sees him as a friend while Jazz, Star, Colette, and Michelle can't stand him for being an obnoxious idiot.
  • Cassandra Truth: Apparently, Dash bragged about how he once got shrunk with Danny Phantom and survived a ghost attack together. Star didn't believe it until Danny confirms it.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: He did NOT take it well when Starlight Spirit flirted with Danny Fenton in "Swapped".
  • Dirty Coward: He’s quick to run away from dangerous ghosts or situations that freak him out in order to save his own hide, like Colette passing out from fear after he, Dale, and Kwan unknowingly press her Trauma Button with a tiger mascot costume in “Forgotten”.
  • Dumbass Has a Point:
    • It may have been stupid of him to be so blunt when Paulina was already emotionally unstable in “Empowered”, but Dash is correct that she doesn’t have a shot with Danny Phantom, who's already going out with Starlight Spirit.
    • In “Golden”, he points out to Colette that her unhealthy obsession with Danny is having a negative impact on her popularity because the other students are getting creeped out by how desperate she is to steal him from Star.
    • By the time of “Blackmailed”, he’s become so disturbed by Colette’s fixation with Danny that he’s lost interest in her and refuses to help her anymore in her schemes to split up Danny and Star no matter how much she bribes or manipulates him, realizing it's not worth the risk of getting into trouble again. Even Kwan admits Dash made the smart move by refusing to get involved with Colette.
  • Dumb Blonde: He's blonde and clueless in anything outside of football.
  • Dumb Jock: He is the football quarterback and the dumbest guy in school to the point that he can't even properly recite a single line of Shakespeare during a play.
  • Dumb Muscle: Being useful as a lackey is the only good thing Colette sees in him.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • In "Dressed", he's so horrified by how crazy the girls in the pageant became that he cautions Danny to stay away from them in spite of not liking Danny.
    • Even Dash and the A-Listers are annoyed by Paulina’s constant whining about Starlight Spirit's return to Amity Park.
    • Dash gives up on pursuing Starlight Spirit because he respects his hero Danny Phantom too much to try to steal his girlfriend from him. He's fine with admiring Starlight from a distance, wanting to ask her if she knows about any other attractive ghost girls that are available in “Empowered”.
    • In "Golden", Dash is creeped out by the extent of Colette's actions to be with Danny, and refuses to ruin the latter's date with Star even when she promises to go out with him in exchange because he "won't date a girl that obsessed with another guy no matter how beautiful, rich, and popular she is." Colette has to resort to bribery to get his help.
  • Future Loser: He knows he's going to become this after high school, but it's mostly a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy because he's too lazy to change it; he doesn't even bother using his football skills to become a professional athlete.
  • Hated by All: Nobody likes being around this guy. Star didn't like him even when she was an A-Lister and her family finds him obnoxious, Team Phantom and the Fentons can't stand how much of a jerk and a moron he is, especially Jazz who realized he was un-tutorable, Colette barely tolerates him at best because of how she can use him and regards him as someone she wouldn't give the time of day to at worst, and even his fellow A-Listers have their limits with him.
  • Hates My Secret Identity: He's a huge fan of Danny Phantom and Starlight Spirit but bullies Danny Fenton and Star Strong.
  • High Hopes, Zero Talent: In "Staged", Dash arrogantly believed he would get the lead male role of Lysander in Lancer's production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," but completely screws up his audition; he can't fully pronounce a single line and doesn't even know what "thou" means. Lancer only gives Dash the role of Nick Bottom in the hopes of making him improve since he'd be forced to actually learn more about the play if he wants extra credit. But even then, Dash failed to do that part in the play, so he had to miss the big game and write a five-page essay on the play and the study of the character he was playing, which he had to write in Mr. Lancer's office to make sure that he doesn't cheat by having someone else write the paper.
  • Hopeless Suitor:
    • Dash tries to hit on Colette and invites her to Nasty Burger, although she is clearly more interested in Danny and has no interest in eating in places not 4 stars.
    • He also made an attempt with Star but, like Colette, she prefers Danny over him.
  • Insufferable Imbecile: His stupidity greatly annoys everyone around him, especially Colette and Team Phantom.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Team Phantom and Valerie know he bullies others as some pathetic attempt to make himself feel big and important because he believes his life is going to go downhill after high school, so he uses that as an excuse to do whatever he wants until then.
  • In Love with Looks: He only hits on Star and Colette because of their good looks and he doesn’t think an unpopular guy like Danny Fenton deserves their attention. Eventually, it’s subverted since Dash gives up on them when it’s made clear they only have eyes for Danny (although in Colette’s case, it’s because her growing unhealthy obsession with Danny is seriously creeping him out).
  • It Amused Me: Why he takes great pleasure in tormenting Danny and his friends.
  • Jerk Jock: He is the star of the football team and bullies other kids, especially Danny.
  • Jerkass to One: He’s a complete jerk in general but he especially has it out for Team Phantom, mainly Danny who he regards as his favorite victim.
  • Karmic Butt-Monkey: His boorish behavior frequently gets him into trouble as the series goes on, now that the A-Listers lost their privilege.
  • Kick the Dog: Dash and his friends mock Danny just after he has just been rescued, even after Star put in a good word for him.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: When Star threatens to sue Mr. Lancer and the school for allowing Dash and the A-Listers to get away with their bullying, Mr. Lancer punishes Dash by giving him detention.
  • Lazy Bum: While athletic, he's too lazy to use his football skills to actually make something of himself after high school, to the point that he doesn't even want to become a professional football player.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: He looks like Prince Charming when compared to the elitist Spoiled Brat Donovan Loadman, who Star found too unpleasant to put up with even during her A-Lister days because of his Entitled to Have You and Rich Bastard personality.
  • The Load: Star admits that him and Kwan would’ve been useless if she got stuck with them on Specter Island because they would’ve spent the whole time freaking out instead of doing something useful.
  • Loves My Alter Ego: He develops a crush on Starlight Spirit when meeting her for the first time in "Swapped" and immediately hits on her, much to Star's disgust as she completely hates Dash and is dating Danny.
  • Miles Gloriosus: He regularly acts like he's braver and more capable than he really is but is usually the first to flee from danger.
  • Mutually Unequal Relation: He sees Colette as a potential girlfriend but she views him as a useful idiot at best and an annoying, oafish moron at worst.
  • Oblivious to Hatred:
    • He's too stupid to notice that Colette hates him. Though he does start losing interest in her on his own by "Golden".
    • Being the total moron that he is, Dash naturally can't figure out that Starlight Spirit is completely repulsed by his advances.
  • Paper Tiger: He’s a muscular jock but crumples like wet paper when confronted by actual danger like ghosts since he turns into a Dirty Coward that’s useless in a crisis, as Star can testify to.
  • Popular Is Dumb: He's the star quarterback and king of the A-Listers as well as a Dumb Jock.
  • Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Everyone, especially Jazz, makes it clear it’s his own fault he’s going to become the Future Loser he dreads turning into since he goes out of his way to ruin his chances at ANY future by insisting on acting like a boorish meathead with no life outside of high school who doesn’t care about anything but bullying and enjoying his glory days.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: He’s the hotheaded and stubborn Manly Man to Kwan’s meek and emotional Sensitive Guy.
  • Shallow Cannot Comprehend True Love:
    • He doesn’t understand why Star hates him but likes Danny Fenton.
    • He actually thinks he has a chance with Starlight Spirit despite her dating Danny Phantom and is completely flabbergasted that she’d flirt with Danny Fenton but refuse to give the time of day to a “meathead” like him.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: He thinks he's WAY more important than he really is because of his football skills and popularity, so he calls himself "the king of Casper High". Star makes it clear he's far more suited to be a jester.
  • Smart Ball:
    • He’s rightfully concerned about the beauty pageant participants' increasingly hostile behavior in “Dressed”. He not only flees from the girls, but warns Danny against inciting their wrath.
    • He eventually becomes so disturbed by Colette’s obsession with Danny that he not only loses interest in her, but refuses to further help her in her schemes regardless of how much she pays him such as in “Blackmailed”, as it'll only get him into more trouble. Kwan even admits Dash was smart to do this.
  • Stunned Silence: His reaction to being instantly rejected by Starlight Spirit in "Swapped" is to stand stupefied with his mouth open like an idiot.
  • Tempting Fate: When he loses his bet with Tucker in "Boxed", he hopes to get away with not honoring it because Tucker can't prove there's a bet. It turns out Tucker recorded them making the bet.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Team Phantom speculates he's getting dumber with age. The fact that he can't even recite one quote of Shakespeare's doesn't help.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Extremely downplayed but by the time of “Blackmailed”, he becomes so disturbed by Colette’s unhealthy fixation with Danny that he not only loses all interest in her, but he no longer wants to help her try to break up Star and Danny regardless of the promise of payment or how much she manipulates him. He also agrees with Paulina to kick Colette out of the A-Listers and turn her in to the police if they get evidence of her using illegal methods to get what she wants because they don’t want a criminal in the group.
  • Wasted Beauty: He's a handsome and muscular quarterback but girls are quickly repulsed when they realize how much of a boorish meathead he is.
  • With Usor Against Us: As far as he and the A-Lister’s are concerned, you’re only a “friend” if you’re in the A-List and they regard Star as a traitor for leaving them to be part of Team Phantom.

    Kwan Li
Star's ex-boyfriend.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Downplayed as while Star doesn't hate him, she makes it crystal clear that she'll never date or be friends with him ever again.
  • Asian Airhead: He's of Asian descent and a Dumb Jock like Dash.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: It’s implied he’s this in “Staged” since his acting skills are good enough to land him the role of Demetrius in Lancer’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, he does a much better job of understanding Shakespeare’s script for the school play than the other jocks, and ultimately gives a good performance. So he seems to be quite talented and academically astute when he truly applies himself, like when he’s motivated by extra credit.
  • Brutal Honesty: In "Blackmailed", he bluntly tells Colette he's surprised that a school counselor hasn't intervened to deal with her disturbing obsession with Danny.
  • Character Development: By “Blackmailed”, he’s accepted that Star isn’t interested in him and refuses to go along with Colette's plans at first, even trying to talk her out of messing with Star and Danny by pointing out the latter’s lack of interest in her.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Downplayed. He becomes jealous after Danny and Star begin to date, but refrains from actively antagonizing them over it. Though he does consider bullying a random nerd as an outlet for his frustration in "Staged".
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype:
    • Of the Peer-Pressured Bully. His refusal to leave the popular kids strains his relationship with Star, the girl he loves, since she strives to escape the negative influence of the A-List because they just made her a worse person like they’re doing with Kwan. Colette points out he’s no better than the rest of the A-Listers since he’s basically a glorified attack dog to them. She even uses this against Kwan in “Blackmailed” to force him to keep working for her by pointing out that his tendency to always go along with his friends’ bullying will make it easy for her to convince people he willingly helped her due to being too weak-minded to say no, so they’ll both go down if he decides to expose her.
    • Of the Token Good Teammate and Lovable Coward, as he’s secretly miserable from hanging out with jerks like Dash and Paulina who don’t really care about him and have a shallow friendship with him at best, but he’s too scared of being kicked out of the A-Listers to stand up for himself.
  • Destructive Romance: With Star. She makes it clear that while Kwan was never abusive to her, their relationship was toxic largely because he was an awful boyfriend who neglected her in favor of hanging out with the other jocks and was willing to ditch her for other girls, including Colette at one point. He also generally failed to stand up for Star or support her emotionally.
  • Dirty Coward: Both Star and Colette find him pathetic for being too timid to stand up to the A-Listers and always going along with their bullying out of fear of being kicked out of the popular kids group.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: Despite how rocky things were between them, Kwan did care for Star, yet fails to realize that Dash's influence and his bowing down to how the A-Listers work are the very reasons she doesn't want to get back together with him.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: He points out to Colette that her fixation with Danny is seriously disturbing, to the point she needs professional help and she's better off moving on since Danny's made it completely clear he's not interested in her.
  • Dumb Jock: He is a football player and not too bright, much to Star's irritation. This was a large part of their breakup due to his cluelessness and very inconsiderate attitude.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Kwan used to be attracted to Colette Bevier due to her beauty and innocent French girl act, to the point of temporarily dumping Star for her. However, after she joins the A-Listers, he gets tired of Colette's mean and controlling ways, as well as weirded out by her obsession with Danny, which is one of the reasons he practically begs Star to come back.
    • In "Golden", Kwan might want to get Star back, but he still refuses to help Colette sabotage her relationship with Danny since he doesn't want to force it as she's happy with Danny. Also, even Kwan finds Colette's continued fixation with Danny disturbing.
  • Extreme Doormat: Star and Colette accuse him of being this because of his inability to stand up to the A-Listers and just going along with their bullying, even if it's directed at him.
  • False Soulmate: To Star.
  • Fatal Flaw: Naiveté and insecurity. Star acknowledges that Kwan is not inherently a bad person, just "easily swayed and mentally persuasive", which makes him extremely vulnerable to peer pressure. He genuinely believes in the A-Listers' so-called purpose to bring order to Casper High and is desperate not to lose his place in the group since he tied his whole identity to it, even though he can't come up with any justification for Dash, Paulina, and Colette's horrible behavior when pressed. If Kwan had the capacity to think beyond his desire to stay In with the In Crowd to his own detriment, he could've seen why Star wanted to leave the A-Listers, how miserable both of them really were, and potentially salvaged their relationship.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • It's revealed that Kwan is deeply insecure, as he remains with the A-listers due to wanting to belong someplace and fears that if the group were to disband, he wouldn't have anything else.
    • When cast in the school play, he is able to easily understand Shakespeare's script compared to the other jocks, suggesting that despite his reputation, Kwan is more academically astute when he really applies himself.
    • He's a skilled enough actor to get the role of Demetrius in Lancer's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream in "Staged" and ends up delivering a good performance, if only for the sake of extra credit, indicating he has some legitimate talent in drama.
    • Kwan justifies his acting above by revealing he watches and emulates soap operas in his free time.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Even he realizes he's this to Star given her complete lack of interest in him.
  • Horrible Judge of Character:
    • At one point, he broke up with Star just to date Colette for a week. In “Blackmailed”, Colette reminds Kwan that all it took was giving him “a few moments of [her] valuable time” to convince him to date her instead of Star because she was and still is “a total hottie”.
    • He refuses to see the A-Listers for the terrible people they are regardless of what Star says because he still wants to be a part of them.
  • Ignored Epiphany: Zigzagged in "Cursed" as Kwan shows that he still misses Star and wishes she would return to the A-Listers. This is despite Star having made it clear that she hated her time at the A-Listers and no longer wanted to be a part of them. Star desires to become a better person and has outgrown her former "mean girl" mentality. Kwan, for a while, tried to respect her decisions, and while he did want to confront Danny out of jealousy and blame him for Star's change, he did not actually want to start a fight with him.
    • However, when he THOUGHT that Danny had cheated on Star with Colette, Kwan jumped at the chance to confront him in an effort to get Star back, only to be disappointed to learn that Danny never cheated on her and Star had no intentions of breaking up with him nor returning to the A-listers. This pushes Kwan to reveal that he wants Star back and wishes to go back to how things were before, ignoring what Star said about WHY she dumped him and left their old clique in the first place.
    • Kwan continues to insist that there is nothing wrong with the A-Listers and misguidedly believes they bring order to the school. However, Star wastes no time giving him a "Reason You Suck" Speech explaining why they broke up and why she left the A-listers; they were a toxic influence on Star and Kwan, who while marginally nicer than most of the jocks, wasn't a very good boyfriend to her and is spineless when dealing with Dash, always going along with what he says even when it's wrong.
    • Even after Star calls him out, Kwan stays with the group due to stubbornness and not having anywhere else to go. However, later installments show that he was deeply affected by Star's words about how toxic the A-Listers are and that he is a sheep for always going along with them. While he may still idolize the A-Listers and longs for his former relationship with Star, Kwan can't completely ignore the issues she told him.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: By “Blackmailed”, Kwan has learned to accept that Star isn't interested in him anymore and is okay with her relationship with Danny since they’re happy together, happier than Star ever was while dating Kwan, to the point he tries to talk Colette out of messing with their lives like she always does.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He resents Danny for dating Star, but Kwan's desire to get her back isn't out of malice. He genuinely believes that things will be better if they went back to how they were before the island.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: On some level, he is a nicer person than the rest of the A-Listers and does want Star back, even if he fails to realize why she rejected him for Danny.
  • The Load: Star admits that him and Dash would’ve been useless if she got stuck with them on Specter Island because they would’ve spent the whole time panicking instead of doing something useful.
  • Lonely at the Top: By "Staged", Kwan feels this way about being an A-lister due to their shallow friendships and the loss of their classmates and Mr. Lancer's respect/fear since Star left. He's also confused and depressed at the realization that the clique he has been a part of since middle school is becoming obsolete, and doesn't know how to handle his increasingly conflicted feelings.
  • Lovable Coward: Deconstructed. While not a bad guy, Star and Colette have called him out on how pathetic he is for being too fearful of the A-Listers to stand up to them.
  • Lust Makes You Dumb: At one point, he dumped Star to date Colette for a week because she was "a total hottie". By “Blackmailed”, he regrets ever dating the brat, especially after being on the receiving end of her cruel and spiteful personality.
  • Mirror Character: As of “Blackmailed”, Kwan and Colette become this to each other. Both are A-Listers with a personal connection to Star and have an unrequited crush on someone that wants nothing to do with them (Star and Danny, respectively), but other than that, they couldn't be more different. Kwan is a Dumb Jock while Colette is a Brainy Brunette (though she dyes her hair red). Kwan is a football player while Colette hates sports. Kwan is a Jerk with a Heart of Gold Token Good Teammate to the A-Listers while Colette is the sociopathic Alpha Bitch Token Evil Teammate to them. Kwan genuinely cares about Star even if he wasn’t a good boyfriend to her, doesn't want to force her into a relationship, has accepted her relationship with Danny since it makes her happy, and eventually understands that she’s not interested in him. Colette only regards Danny as a trophy that she's become increasingly obsessed with claiming to the point of using blackmail and wanting to destroy his relationship with Star out of pure spite.
  • Name One: In "Cursed" when Star points out their relationship was turbulent and unhappy, Kwan denies this and challenges her to name one example. She promptly brings up the time he dumped her for Colette for a whole week. Kwan then weakly suggests she can't name another one, only for Star to list off two other times he ditched her (for another girl and to hang out with his friends) and makes it clear there are many more, causing him to give up.
  • Old Shame: By “Blackmailed”, he's deeply ashamed of himself for leaving Star for Colette after realizing just how much of a deplorable person the latter is.
  • Peer-Pressured Bully: He’s only a bully to fit in with the A-Listers. Deconstructed as this further strains his relationship with Star, who has outgrown the popular kids' toxic influence while Kwan hasn’t since he refuses to leave them out of insecurity.
  • Relationship Revolving Door: He and Star had broken up multiple times for various reasons.
  • Secretly Wealthy: He doesn't bring it up but "Blackmailed" reveals his uncle owns a series of restaurants.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: He’s the timid and cowardly Sensitive Guy to Dash’s meatheaded and aggressive Manly Man.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Star is the only girl he has his eyes on right now, especially since he’s completely lost interest in Colette after dealing with her bitchy personality for so long and seems to be having an internal crisis of sorts since Star broke up with him for good and left the A-Listers.
  • Smarter Than You Look:
    • He's the first A-Lister to realize how out of her mind Colette is and that she doesn't have a chance with Danny, causing him to completely lose his past interest in her.
    • Despite being a Dumb Jock, he's able to understand Shakespeare and act well in the school play, A Midsummer Night's Dream.
    • By the time of “Blackmailed”, he has not only accepted that Star isn’t interested in him anymore, but realized she is happier with Danny than she ever was with him.
    • Even he can see that Danny doesn’t like Colette and advises her to move on from him, especially since her unhealthy obsession with the Fenton boy is growing so out of control that he’s surprised a school guidance counselor hasn’t intervened by the time of “Blackmailed”.
  • Token Good Teammate: He's the least malicious and arrogant of the A-Listers, especially since he's harmless when outside of their influence. Also, while not the best boyfriend, he truly cares about Star, more so than Dash and Paulina ever did.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: By “Blackmailed”, he’s come to accept Star’s relationship with Danny since it makes her happy and vehemently rejects Colette's demands to get involved in her latest plan to break them up because he bears no ill-will toward Team Phantom, is disgusted by the depths she’s willing to sink just to spite Star, and her fixation with Danny creeps him out to no end to the point he bluntly tells her she needs to see a school counselor. He only helps Colette when she blackmails him.

    Spike Jones
A moody looking student at Casper High that Jazz sometimes tries to psychoanalyze.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Despite his intimidating appearance, he is shown to be a very proud individual and a talented actor, having been going to theater camp since 6th grade. He's even interested in pursuing Broadway after college.
    • He is also revealed to be very insightful; Spike admits that the reason he let Jazz be his therapist is because he knew that she was projecting her own family issues onto him and decided to let her vent in order to make her feel better.
  • Implied Love Interest: It's hinted that he might have a crush on Jazz and at the end of "Staged", he invites her to the movies, which she accepts.
  • Nice Guy: Despite his gothic-looking exterior, he is shown to be a rather nice and level-headed individual.

    Michelle Lynne Clarke
A senior student at Casper High two years older than Dash and Danny, and one of the most popular girls at school.
  • Canon Immigrant: She first appeared in Flower princess11's other fanfic "Cursed at Casper High".
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Michelle was willing to give Dash a chance on a date due to his persistence, but ended up hating him when he not only failed to get them tickets to a show that she really wanted to see, he tried to get her to sneak in with him and then threaten some guy to hand over his tickets, which got them in trouble with security. Still, she was willing to invite Dash to her Halloween party, but only if he behaves himself.
    • She won't tolerate anyone causing problems at her parties regardless of their social status and has her bouncer throw Dash, Paulina, and Colette out for harassing Star and Danny.
  • Good Is Not Dumb: When she spots Paulina and Dash bullying Star and Danny, Michelle and her bouncer throw them out of her Halloween party and don’t believe the A-Listers' lie that Star and Danny started it because they saw Dash and Paulina threaten the couple.
  • Good Is Not Soft: While a Nice Girl, she doesn’t tolerate nonsense from anyone, including the A-Listers. Michelle stands up to Paulina when the latter complains about her inviting Star and Danny to her Halloween party by making it clear she doesn’t care if Paulina hates the couple since it’s Paulina’s problem, not hers, and she can invite anyone she wants. Also, she doesn’t hesitate to kick out Colette for vomiting on her carpet and throws out Dash and Paulina when they harass Star and Danny.
  • Has a Type: She mostly only ever dates seniors and college guys but has been willing to date a younger guy if he peaks her interest.
  • Head-Turning Beauty: She's noted to be "one of the school's top beauties".
  • Hidden Depths: "Staged" reveals she was in the drama club and is a good enough actress to get the role of Helena in Lancer's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
  • I'm Not Afraid of You: She's not intimidated by the A-Listers at all. When Paulina tries to throw her weight around to Michelle by using her status as queen of the A-Listers to complain about her inviting Star and Danny to her Halloween party, Michelle just tells Paulina she can invite anyone she wants, and even threatens to throw Paulina out if she causes trouble.
  • Lovable Alpha Bitch: Michelle is known as the queen of the seniors at Casper High who even the A-Listers admire, being very beautiful, rich, and a "total party animal". However, she's one of the few popular kids who is not mean or too shallow since she gets along well with Team Phantom enough to invite them to her Halloween party.
  • Nice Girl: Despite being popular, she doesn't look down on others and is very nice to her classmates most of the time regardless of age or social status.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • She invites everyone at school to her Halloween party regardless of their social status, including Mikey, Team Phantom, and the A-Listers, even Dash despite that disastrous date he took her on. Not that it stops her from kicking out Colette, Paulina, and Dash when they start causing trouble.
    • She quickly throws out Dash and Paulina when Michelle and her bouncer catch them harassing Star and Danny at her Halloween party.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Thanks to her parents' real estate business, she lives in a large house and throws some of the best parties, but is generally a pleasant and down-to-Earth girl.
  • Turned Off By The Jerkass: Despite her preference for older guys, she was willing to give Dash Baxter a chance by going out with him because of his determination, but grew to despise him when he not only failed to get them tickets to a show that she really wanted to see, he tried to get her to sneak in with him and then harassed some guy to give them his tickets, which only got them in trouble with security.

     Mikey
A geeky nerd who’s constantly picked on by the jocks at Casper High and is bullied into working for the A-Listers.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Colette finds him even more repulsive than Dash because of how much of a nerd he is.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Even without Danny in her life, Colette wouldn’t be interested in a giant nerd like Mikey.
  • Bully Magnet: Like other unpopular kids at school, he is one of the students who is often bullied by Dash Baxter and the other Jerk Jocks.
  • Butt-Monkey: Can't catch a break with the school bullies, and once got glued to a wall and gagged by Skulker after asking nicely if he could use the computer the ghost was studying.
  • Covered in Kisses: His face gets covered in lipstick marks by Colette after making out with her in “Costumed” when she thought he was Danny. He still has those lipstick marks on his face the next day at Casper High.
  • Extreme Doormat: He’s this to the A-Listers, especially Colette because of his crush on her.
  • Fanboy: Of Danny Phantom as Mikey dresses as him for Michelle’s Halloween party in “Costumed” and points out the flaws in Danny’s Danny Phanotm costume.
  • First Kiss: He has a make-out session with Colette in “Costumed” while in a dark tool shed because she thinks he’s Danny.
  • Homework Slave: The A-Listers bully him and the other nerds into doing all their homework for them. He even has a separate number for it.
  • Hopeless Suitor: He’s in love with Colette, who only has eyes for Danny and hates Mikey for being a total geek.
  • Ignored Enamored Underling: He has an obvious crush on Colette but she finds him repulsive for being a nerdy peasant that’s even less appealing than Dash and only talks to him if it concerns official A-Lister business.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: In “Costumed”, while he doesn’t know it’s intentional, he is correct about the flaws with Danny’s Danny Phantom costume.
  • Lovable Nerd: Team Phantom like him well enough at least and Michelle Lynne Clarke did invite him to her Halloween party in “Costumed”.
  • Lust Makes You Dumb: This is the best description for his unrequited crush on Colette.
  • Mistaken for Object of Affection: In “Costumed”, Colette bribes two Dumb Jocks to abduct Danny and lock him inside Michelle's shed in order for her to seduce him away from Star. However, they grab Mikey by mistake because he was wearing the same costume as Danny. When Colette arrives, she eagerly kisses Mikey, thinking he is Danny. He eagerly reciprocates and even when Colette is horrified and disgusted upon realizing that it was Mikey with whom she had been making out, he chases after her to ask for her number. Mikey becomes enamored with Colette and even brags to his friends about being kissed by her.
  • Mistaken Identity: In “Costumed”, the two jocks Colette pays to drag Danny into Michelle’s tool shed mistake Mikey for Danny because they’re wearing the same Danny Phantom costumes. Colette also mistakes Mikey for Danny since it was too dark in the shed for her to see him. Naturally, she’s horrified upon learning the truth.
  • Nausea Fuel: Colette throws up repeatedly after realizing she accidentally made out with him in “Costumed”.
  • Nerd Glasses: Wears big, round ones.
  • No Accounting for Taste: He’s in love with Colette of all people.
  • Redheads Are Uncool: He has red hair and he’s a stereotypical teenage nerd.
  • Shorter Means Smart: He’s pretty small for a teenager but is one of the smartest students at Casper High.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: He only seems to have eyes for Colette, much to her revulsion. Their accidental make-out session in “Costumed” only made this worse.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Not only is he invited to Michelle Lynne Clarke’s costume party in “Costumed”, but he gets a make-out session with Colette in the shed while she thinks he’s Danny.
  • Your Costume Needs Work: He points out some flaws Danny has in his Danny Phantom in “Costumed”. He doesn’t know that those are points where Danny intentionally chose to be different from his ghostly alter ego.
