Agave Characters

Gyoubu Shakadou

Voiced by: Keiji Fujiwara (Japanese) and David Wald (English)

A former assistant master at the Kawakami Temple, Shakadou is an extremely strong fighter but was too brutal for Tesshin's tastes and was fired. He and Momoyo appear to get along well due to their fixation on fighting and power.

He also becomes the main character in his own spin-off visual novel called Shakadou-san no Jun'ai Road (lit. Shakadou's Road of Pure Love) where he bonds with a flower girl named Sakura Kugenuma.

• The Ace: Shakadou was simply born strong, though he shouldn't have been born at all. Before even entering the Kawakami temple he could survive Bishamonten without even losing consciousness and while Lu had to work extremely hard to eventually become an assistant master Shakadou just took the test once and easily passed.
• Affably Evil: Shakadou doesn’t really seem to have much malice. He just likes fighting for its own sake. When he isn't fighting, he's rather laid back and friendly in his own way.
• And Now for Someone Completely Different: In his spin-off. Shakadou is both the main character and the narrator, but in a different prefecture. Considering we know what he sounds like, there's no reason for him to be The Voiceless.
• Anti-Hero: In his spin-off game, he's fairly a nice guy when he helps people. But he beats the tar out of local Japanese Delinquents who were dumb enough to try to rob him.
• April Fools: His spin-off is technically a joke game that was released on April 1st. However, it nonetheless shows his Character Development throughout the game.
• Barehanded Blade Block: Shadadou catches Mayucchi’s attack between his hands because he can’t dodge it without putting the battle even more into her favor. She just drops the sword and beats him barehanded for a few seconds.
• Big Bad Wannabe: In Shakadou's backstory, his natural power left him feeling invincible until Tesshin came and forcibly recruited him into the Kawakami temple via Bishamonten to the face. He even laughed after being beaten, realizing he was just like the frog in the well.
• Big Damn Heroes: In Chris' route, he effortlessly defeats Tao Zi to save Frank Friedrich and the Prime Minister as a temporary bodyguard.
• Boxed Crook: The prime minister feels it would be a waste to let Shakadou just sit in prison, so he puts him to work quelling random conflicts.
• Breakout Character: Very surprisingly, Shakadou managed to be this. It somehow took one spin-off game to reach this status, taking 5th place in the 2017 male popularity poll, and even a demand a sequel to Shakadou's Road of Pure Love
• Broad Strokes: It's actually hard to pin-point where his game takes place, continuity-wise. In the tail-end of his game, he works in Umeya's, the same restaurant he works in S when the Kazama Family are second years. Jun clearly knows him while scouting him and Hume referred his Itagaki students after he leaves Kawakami.
• Bullying a Dragon: Shakadou finds Momoyo’s fear of ghosts hilarious and keeps scaring her past the point Lu advises him it’d be best to quit. For his trouble, a beam is fired into space that can be seen from the White House, which he barely dodges.
  • Was at the receiving end of this in his spin-off, though the delinquents were dumb enough to try to rob him.
• Character Development: From a Jerkass Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy to a Defrosting Ice King all thanks to a flowershop girl who spent time with him.
• Curb-Stomp Battle: In Koyuki route, he gets to avenge his miserable performance against Lu at the end of Agave by winning his fight in about thirty seconds. Granted Lu was possessed at the time, but she did not stood much of a chance.
  • Beats Miyoshi Kumakichi in less than a minute, but more of a Curb-Stomp Cushion.
• Date Peepers: Shakadou sits back and laughs while Momoyo and Yamato go through the test of courage.
• The Dragon: He's Maroudo's greatest asset and in command of the Itagakis. While he isn't the strongest minion, he's probably the most influential and dangerous.
• Drop-In Character: During Kokoro’s route he randomly pops out of the river to criticize people. Nobody has any idea who he is.
• Evil Mentor: He had great influence on Momoyo before getting expelled from the Kawakami Temple for "attitude" problems. Lu worries that Momoyo is becoming too much like him.
• Evil Counterpart: He's much more aggressive than Lu and enjoys inflicting pain outright, an attitude that Momoyo admired and learned from. Lu on the other hand enjoys martial arts more for the mental and spiritual benefits and is very much against Shakadou and Momoyo's pursuit of physical power. That being said, the story doesn't seem to believe that he's completely wrong either and that he shouldn't have been kicked out of Kawakami temple simply due to the arguments he had with Lu, who has his own stubborn prejudices. If nothing else, it's made him quite a bit worse than he was.
• Foil: To both Lu, Momoyo and yes, Yamato:
  • In Lu's case, he was born with his talent when Lu had to work hard. Lu defeated him in Agave due to Lu's continuous training while he fell behind. Their influence greatly affects the Kawakami sisters, whereas Kazuko is a nice (but naive) girl, Momoyo became a Blood Knight thrill-seeker like he is.
  • With Momoyo, their handling of affection is both similar and different. In her route, Yamato tends to give her affections and calls her cute, which was her first time hearing them. Naturally, she accepts his affections. In Shakadou's case, he has never received affection from anyone else before due to his natural talent (unless you consider the Itagaki siblings) and the fact that his name is written for the kanji "Punishment". Because of this, Sakura was the only person who saw him for who he is, rather than the people he grew up with.
  • With Yamato, Shakadou is Strong, but Unskilled while Yamato himself is Weak, but Skilled. Shakadou doesn't bother socializing with anyone but a small number of friends while Yamato himself becomes one of the popular guys in school. While Yamato (depending on his/player choices) can choose to pick multiple women and form a Relationship Upgrade, Shakadou caught the attention with Sakura Kugenuma, who no less took an interest in him the instant she met him.
• Graceful Loser: When beaten by Lu, he’s asked why he took in the Itagaki siblings and taught them martial arts. He peacefully responds that they had far too much talent to simply ignore, but that the Kawakami academy would never accept such violent students. Finished, he asks Lu to finish the purging process. This moment of grace actually saves his life: Lu is pleased that even after being expelled, he still taught students because it was simply in his nature to be a teacher.
• Hero of Another Story: Well, "Anti-hero". He is the main character of his own spin-off called Shakadou no Jun'ai Road where he moves out of Kawakami and befriends a girl named Sakura Kugenuma.
• Hidden Depths: When he sees a hibiscus flower at Sakura's shop, he felt some nostalgia since it's a type from his home island (he even considers it odd, since flowers normally don't give him that much attention). He makes a side comment involving a blood-red hibiscus called a High Bloody tht special existences should be kept at a distance.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: His spin-off revolves around this with him being in Shounan where he meets Sakura Kugenuma, a teenage flowershop girl. He noticably Took a Level in Kindness due to spending time with her, to which both Oomura and Jun notices. He is even aware of this himself.
• Likes Older Women: He's stated this preference in Momoyo's S route, and former workmate Miyoshi brought this up after Sakura Kugenuma treats both of their wounds.
• May–December Romance: Maybe? He actually worries about this when Sakura Kugenuma has an attraction to him, which understandably makes sense when he's three decades older than her. And the fact that he thinks she has No Accounting for Taste, and she is the one who shows ay interest in him and considers his age a "nice middle".
• Meaningful Name: Gyoubu is written with the kanji for 'Punishment.' It may have been intentional: When his mother was pregnant, she was supposed to give birth to a daughter, but ended up having twins with the daughter being stillborn. What's more, he was able to stand upright on his own the next day, leaving him quite feared within his village.
• Morality Pet: In his spin-off game, Sakura Kugenuma becomes this to him, starting up his Character Development.

• Odd Friendship: His game has one with Oomura, who was visiting Sakura at the time. Once Shakadou establishes that he isn't a threat, the two get along swimmingly. He also develops one with Kyojin to scare the Kawakami students with Lu and all three of them become drinking buddies.
• Of Course I'm Not a Virgin: Alluded to if his nickname "Rod Master of the Night" is any indication. We are not joking.
• Punch-Clock Villain: Most of the time he's just sort of hired by others to accomplish some task or another. When his job is complete, he peacefully leaves. After all, he has no real investment in what's going on.
• Put on a Bus: The last time Shakadou is seen in Agave After is noting that after three years of service he's eventually released.
  • If Shakadou-san no Jun'ai Road is any indication, he left Kawakami after that, since Agave is indirectly referenced.
• The Rival: Lu and Shakadou were both rivals when they worked together at the temple. At one point, Lu even calls him his friend, but it's written as enemy.
• Silver Fox: Sort of. While he doesn't have actual graying hairs, the one person spends time with him sees his current age a "nice middle", and he still finds it weird. Keep in mind the girl in question is at least still a teenager.
• Spear Counterpart: To Momoyo. His spin-off took this further when Sakura Kugenuma calls him cute, which is his first time hearing it.
• Taking the Heat: In Agave After, he claims that he used a special technique from the Kawakami temple to hypnotize the Itagakis and make them go along with his plans. The technique is real and he does know it, but he never had to use it. Tesshin, Lu and Ageha are perfectly aware of this, but decide to just go along with the story because they agree that it really would be a waste to let the Itagakis' martial arts talent go unrefined. Ryuuhei disappeared on his own, but given that he's the wildest of the four nobody would really include him anyway. Incidentally, it also makes them view Shakadou more charitably.
• Took a Level in Kindness: Yes really. In his spin-off game, he becomes a much nicer person when Sakura Kugenuma is around. Note that when Sakura gets kidnapped by Miyoshi Kumakichi, he actually goes to rescue her. He actually notices this during his game.
• Trademark Favorite Food: While he doesn't have a specific favorite food, he considers Umeya's Mabo curry the most addicting. He also introduces Sakura to it, which has become her favorite food.
• Villain Forgot to Level Grind: He didn't keep training like Lu did after leaving the temple, leading to an embarrassing loss at Lu's hands.
  • This nearly bit him in the ass in his own game when he fights Miyoshi, noting he's getting rusty.
• Villains Out Shopping: Along with his students, the Itagaki siblings. It doesn't stop him from being a Jerkass, but if he's not hired to beat you to a pulp, he can be a relatively friendly guy. He's still pretty scary though.

Tatsuko Itagaki

Voiced by: Natsumi Yanase (Japanese) and Tiffany Terrell (English)

Tatsuko is a lazy, slow girl that is constantly sleeping or wishing she was. Though easygoing, she's also one of Shakudou's pupils. Oddly, however, he doesn't seem to want to train her. She works as a security guard.

• The Berserker: She's always very strong and durable, but her true potential is only seen when she loses control.
• Berserk Button: Don't mess with Yamato and don't mess with her family. A fair fight is one thing, but anything too one sided will set her off.
• Beware the Nice Ones: She just wants to be with Yamato and her siblings. Don't try to mess with that.
• Beware the Silly Ones: Tatsuko is spacy, slow and not terribly bright, but she's also stronger than Shakadou and able to match Momoyo in brute force as well as withstand multiple attacks from a serious Haou while displaying no sign of injury.
• Cloud Cuckoolander: Tatsuko is too busy being 90% asleep to pay attention to anything that's going on around her and is far too easily distracted. During Benkei's route, she's set to duel Yamato and he spends most of the allotted time running from her, but when she catches him she just sits there hugging him until time runs out. No wonder he didn't bother using a valuable card to try avoiding the match.
• Cool Big Sis: She's convinced that she can be this to Yamato, but there really isn't enough of an age gap between them, and she's not exactly smart or mature enough to fit this trope.
• Crippling Overspecialization: Tatsuko has massive power, but poor speed, no technique and is far too direct. As a result, despite matching Momoyo once she performs poorly against anyone using hit and run tactics rather than trying to match her directly.
• Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: If you can curbstomp Chris and Wanko in about one blow each, proceed to go one on one with Momoyo, and be so strong that you force her to end the battle in a Double Knockout by using a Limit Break in Taking You with Me fashion, you are a badass of the highest order.
• Death Glare: One that rivals Miyako's◊. And combined with Vader Breath. This is the sign that's she's gone berserk.
• Dissonant Serenity: When Ryuuhei returns and makes it clear he’s going to try to rape Yamato, Tatsuko walks in and asks him what he’s doing. She doesn’t sound that angry, but she’s definitely not speaking as slowly as normal. She’s definitely happy to see him again. Nope, not angry at all about what he was about to do to Yamato.
• The Ditz: Shakadou seems to see little point in actually training her despite acknowledging her strength. Just not worth the effort, apparently. She’s strong enough that there’s not much he can really do for her at this point.
• Eyes Always Shut: She's always half asleep, so her eyes are always closed.
• Glowing Eyes of Doom: When she gets pissed, her eyes finally open and they are not friendly looking at all.
• Has a Type: Tatsuko quickly becomes infatuated with Yamato because he just has an overpowering little brother aura. It helps that she finds her actual little brother rather unlikable even if she loves him as family.
• Heavy Sleeper: To wake Tatsuko up, Ami has to launch actual attacks. If a kick doesn’t do it, she goes up another level to an elbow drop. She even seems proud of it, making her phone password 4848 because it can be pronounced as a sleepy onomatopoeia, suya suya. If she could, she'd probably sleep 24/7.
• Hellish Pupils: When she gets mad, her eyes turn to slits.
• Implacable Man: Haou blows Tatsuko away on three separate occasions and she gets up each time. Even Ageha and Shakadou went down to just a single effective blow. Eventually, Haou just gives up on her for the moment because she gets incredibly pissed at Tsubame and goes to handle her instead.
• Improvised Weapon: She rips a sign out of the ground to use on Chris and Wanko.
• It's Personal: Because the Ryouzanpaku girls took out Angel and Ami, Tatsuko and Ryuuhei step in to help out against the civil war despite not even really knowing anyone in this continuity.
• Let's Get Dangerous!: Tatsuko has immense strength and resilience, but doesn't put them to good use unless in a berserker rage. Subverted during her match with Benkei when her eyes start to glow and her face shadows over, but once she's free of Benkei's grasp she just falls asleep now that she's no longer in pain.
• Love at First Sight: She's instantly infatuated with Yamato. Works out well for him since it means her siblings treat him better than they normally would.
• Lovable Sex Maniac: At least where Yamato is concerned. Pretty much every time they're alone, she at least manages to start a makeout session between the two of them and apparently makes a habit of getting into Yamato's futon with him while he's being held hostage by the Itagaki siblings.
• Lovely Angels: With Benkei in Tsubame's route. Really not an Odd Friendship when you think about it.
  Tatsuko: DOUBLE!
  Benkei: LARIAT!
• Madness Mantra:

  "Yamato-kun...Yamato-kun...Yamato-kun...Yamato-kun...YAMATO-KUN!!

• Mighty Glacier: She can take both dish out and tank some serious damage when she wants to, but she's more of a wrestler or grappler than most of the cast and tends to fight with slams or holds. If she can't catch up to someone, she can't do much about it, and on top of that she's pretty slow, which is a serious weakness that tactical fighters can exploit.
• Nice Girl: She's not a bad person by nature, and Yamato notes that she has a "gentle spirit".
• No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Once Tatsuko finally catches hold of Shishin, she slams her repeatedly onto the ground as hard as she can then tosses her forward, runs ahead and slams a chunk of concrete the size of her torso into her spine.
• Obliviously Evil: Unlike her more violent siblings, Tatsuko is pretty spacey and doesn't seem to really hold any malice. She just smashes stuff when Ami asks her to.
• Promoted to Love Interest: She's one of two possible continuations of the Agave route in S.
• Screaming Warrior: Be careful that the volume isn't too high during that scene.
• Sleepy Head: She sleeps all the time. Overlaps with Heavy Sleeper. She met Yamato in the first place by seeing him sleeping on the riverbank and joining him.
• Super-Toughness: She can take a heavy beating with no signs of wear. Benkei can only cause pain while inflicting no real damage, Momoyo had to use a double knockout technique and even Haou could not make her stay down despite oneshotting the likes of Ageha and Shakadou though the fight is interrupted before she can get really serious about it
• The Load: She appears to be this to her sisters. But really, she far outweighs all of her siblings combined.
• Theme Music Power-Up: March of a Beast. Oh yeah.
• Unskilled, but Strong: Tatsuko has physical strength on par with Momoyo and can tank some serious damage, but because she doesn't really train in Agave After Momoyo guesses that she'd lose to Mayucchi and she has some serious trouble with Shishin in the true route of S.
• Unto Us a Son and Daughter Are Born: You wouldn't have guessed by appearance, but Ryuhei is her younger twin brother.
• Villainous Crush: She has a huge crush on Yamato and tends to be all over him during his captivity. Momoyo and Miyako are extremely jealous. Her crush is pretty much the only thing that keeps him safe from Ryuuhei and to a lesser extent Angel.
• Violently Protective Girlfriend: She nearly trashes her own brother for messing with Yamato. The Tranquil Fury and Creepy Monotone obviously has him terrified.
• Worf Had the Flu: Fights evenly against Benkei in her normal state, who is unable to do any meaningful damage to her. Ryuuhei laments that Ami isn't there to allow Tatsuko to go berserk and wipe the floor with her. Tatsuko loses because she falls asleep, a technical defeat.
• You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry!: She's the closest thing to The Incredible Hulk in this series.

Ami Itagaki

Voiced by: Harumi Sakurai (Japanese)

The eldest of the Itagaki siblings. She runs an S&M club and says she's looking for the ultimate masochist. In her job she prefers to do nothing of note to her clients, which drives them into a frenzy with anticipation and frustration. She wields a staff in battle.

• Animal Motifs: She tends to look like a snake most of the time, frequently licking her lips and with a sharp expression.
• Blood Knight: The Itagakis live to rampage, especially Ryuuhei, who can't live any other life.
• Dominatrix: Ami. However, given that she runs an SM club and has a strong sadist thing going for her, she has actually avoided having any sex during her job. Or rather, to Yamato’s surprise, any sex at all.
• For the Evulz
  Ami: A good kid like you might not understand, but some people just want to see the world drowned in darkness. People like me.
• Hates Being Called Cute: Ami is already fairly ruthless with pleasuring Yamato, but she declares that "playtime is over" after he calls her cute.
• Hidden Depths: She has some pretty good domestic skills, surprisingly enough.
• I Love You Because I Can't Control You: Implied. She hasn't settled down with anyone because they don't have the physical stamina to keep up, but when it inevitably comes time for her and Yamato to get on with it she eventually has to make an excuse and leave, seemingly looking forward to a second round to try to make him submit.
• Irony: Despite her Dominatrix personality, she's never actually had sex before, and is the last to lose her virginity of the three Itagaki sisters.

Angel Itagaki

Voiced by: Yuuki Kajita (Japanese)

The youngest and most emotional of the Itagaki siblings. She's a bit spoiled by her older siblings and spends most of her free time at the arcade. She fights using a golf club and uses a stimulant in battle to increase her performance.

• Alternate Character Reading: Angel’s name should be read 'Tenshi' in Japanese, though tenshi does mean angel.
• Angrish: Rumor has it coherent words can be picked out of Angel’s speech when angry.
• Animal Motif: Her quickness, the fur on her clothes and fangs make her similar to a cat or fox in some respects.
• Berserk Button: Though easily angered anyway, Angel is especially touchy regarding her name.
• Blood Knight: The Itagakis live to rampage, especially Ryuuhei, who can't live any other life.
• Butt-Monkey: Angel in the Agave after scenarios gets no respect or dignity at all. Her attempt to kill Yamato ends in another H scene and when she enlists Ami for revenge, Ami is also ‘defeated’ and Angel is humiliated again. In the Momoyo/Miyako path, those two worry about competition with Tatsuko and completely ignore that Angel was in the same scene.
• Cute Little Fangs
• Drugs Are Bad: Angel uses some sort of drug to enhance her lackluster performance in battle but overdoses when fighting Wanko, causing her to feel so sick that the injured Wanko is able to easily knock her out.
• Easily Forgiven: Gakuto barely even remembers that Angel smashed him over the head with a golf club. No grudge whatsoever.
• Expy: She's basically Kani from Tsuyokiss as a minor villain, even having the same voice actress and complex about her name. She's not quite as dim, though.
• Fiery Redhead
• Foil: Angel is weak and apparently untalented just like Wanko, but while Wanko works hard to overcome her lack of ability, Angel skips that and relies on drugs which comes back to bite her when she overdoses in the middle of their duel after having Wanko on the ropes most of the fight. She promptly gets her ass kicked.
• Fur and Loathing: Angel
• Girlish Pigtails: Angel
• Hair-Trigger Temper: Angel. Ryuuhei is just constantly angry, meaning there's no real trigger at all, but Angel can go from laughing and happy to rage in seconds.
• Has a Type: Only alluded to in Chika's subroute, but Angel likes smart, tricky guys. Moro fulfills half of that so she's briefly interested in him, but gets bored fairly quickly because he's too nice. And then in Agave she meets Yamato and it turns out she even has an anal fetish, matching him nicely. It comes back to bite her though because while Yamato is her type, he also infuriates her. Not that that's hard.
• Hoist by Their Own Petard: Even without stimulants, Angel was fighting evenly with Kazuko. With them, she started kicking her ass. And then she keeps taking them over and over during the fight, eventually overdosing and getting beaten as a result since she was too sick to defend herself anymore.
• Improbable Weapon User: Angel uses golf club based martial arts, which the story assures us is totally a real thing. Yamato is rather puzzled by it as well but eventually gives up wondering about it.
• Kill Steal: Angel ambushes Gakuto in the middle of his fight with Ryuuhei, which pisses off the latter. However, it's implied that Gakuto was actually about to win and that Angel saved his ass.
• Meaningful Name: Invoked. Ami, Tatsuko and Ryuuhei were named for dangerous creatures and grew up rather aggressive, so when Angel was born the Itagaki’s parents gave her a gentler name. Not that it worked.
• No Indoor Voice: She's got a loud voice to go with her brash nature. Seriously, this girl loves yelling.
• Odd Name Out: Ami means snake, Ryuuhei and Tatsuko are dragons and Angel means, well, angel. The Kazama family gets a good laugh out of that one.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: Angel is a martial artist, kinda, but to beat even Wanko she needs to take some sort of drug. Without it, she actually manages to get overpowered by Yamato once. Contrasting that, Ami is at least as good as Chris and Tatsuko can give Momoyo a run for her money when berserking. Ryuuhei isn't a martial artist at all but still has a better performance.
• Tsundere: Seems so in Agave After. She attacks Yamato in the Itagaki house while Tatsuko is out, but she's awfully quick to get seduced despite her protests. Afterward, they make amends pretty quickly once he agrees not to disappear on her and Tatsuko again.

Ryuuhei Itagaki

Voiced by: Tetsu Inada (Japanese)

Tatsuko's twin brother. He's a violent thug and fond of raping other men. Unlike the quasi-legal professions of Tatsuko and Ami, he's fully embraced a life of crime and revels in destruction. He is not a martial artist, but still probably stronger than Angel at least.

• The Brute: Ryuuhei
• Depraved Homosexual: He threatens to rape Gakuto and Yamato on several occasions, and he sexually assaults two men during the carnival.
• For the Evulz:
  Ami: A good kid like you might not understand, but some people just want to see the world drowned in darkness. People like me.
• Gayngster: Ryuuhei is gay and is the most typically "thuggish" of his siblings.
• It's Personal: Because the Ryouzanpaku girls took out Angel and Ami, Tatsuko and Ryuuhei step in to help out against the civil war despite not even really knowing anyone in this continuity.
• Jerkass: Zig-Zagged Trope. He's a genuinely unpleasant person, being the most thuggish of the siblings and a serial rapist, even if all his victims are other rapists. While he's willing to help Yamato out at times like with helping Sigrun, he makes clear he's only doing it so he can take his anger out on her rapists, since no one would care what happens to them. His one actual redeeming quality is that he genuinely loves his sisters and boss, but it's not enough to outweigh all the negative traits he has.
• Pay Evil unto Evil: In a manner of speaking. He seems to have picked up an interest in raping men who try to rape women. He's at least as bad as they are, of course, but since it works out in Yamato and Sigrun's favor the story just leaves it at that.
• The One Guy: Ryuuhei is the only male sibling.
• The Sociopath: He's the only one of the Itagaki siblings who can really be considered a "bad person". He's a violent thug who enjoys sexually assaulting other men. One could argue that his love for his sisters could be considered a redeeming quality, but his bad points far outweigh the good.
• Subordinate Excuse: Ryuuhei's uncharacteristic devotion to his boss and his homosexuality is a big hint to Yamato that his boss must be someone that Ryuuhei would at least be compatible with, meaning the bisexual Touma is naturally suspicious when factoring in everything else suspicious.
• Token Evil Teammate: Most of the villains of the Agave route are some level of Anti-Villain or at least a Punch-Clock Villain with no notable morals. Ryuuhei, however, loves fighting, loves rape and loves sowing chaos. But he still loves his family and his boss.
• Unskilled, but Strong: Ryuuhei is not a martial artist, but he’s still strong and fast enough to beat serious fighters.
• Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises: Ryuuhei is like this all the time, likely because he's constantly angry.
• Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Ryuuhei doesn’t really like fighting girls. Most likely not because he’s a gentleman, but because he doesn’t get to look forward to raping his opponent.
• Younger Than He Looks: He's Tatsuko's younger twin brother and the second youngest of the Itagaki siblings, but he looks like he's in his late twenties and sounds like he's in his forties.

The Ten Warriors of the West

The Ten strongest warriors from a rival academy to the west, each of varying levels of competency. They show up at the beginning of Majikoi S and take a more prominent role in the Koyuki route.

Motochika Mouri

Voiced by: Ken Narita

The first of the Ten Warriors. A member of the Five Heavenly Archers, he considers himself to be the most beautiful creature in existence and as such is a horrendous narcissist.

• Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Like all of the Ten Warriors.
• Butt-Monkey: Like the rest of the warriors, though as the weakest he stands out.
• Catchphrase: He likes to call things beautiful.
• Curbstomp Battle: Gets thrown aside pretty damn quickly.
• Informed Ability: Apparently knows 777 beautiful archery techniques, though we only get to see 3 of them.
• Informed Attractiveness: He considers himself the most beautiful thing on two legs, and while he is pretty, he's probably the least attractive one in the series.
• It's All About Me: Completely full of himself and doesn't get along well with his teammates.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's a huge narcissist, but he actually acts pretty nicely towards Tsubame when she and Yamato stay with them, due to her being a beautiful girl and him being a lover of all things beautiful. Yamato also relies on him during the round robin Kawakami war in Seiso's route. He also hands over his medal to Yamato in A-4 because he found Homura's happiness in love beautiful.
• Narcissist: Considers himself the most beautiful thing in existence and, despite probably being the weakest of the five archers, still considers himself amazing for having hundreds of 'beautiful' techniques when nobody else that uses a bow really bothers with special techniques much at all. Further, despite his confidence in his looks, unlike Ryouzouji all he cares about is his own beauty rather than hitting on women.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: He's a good enough archer to be considered one of the Heavenly Archers, but is very clearly the weakest of the five. He's also ranked last among the Ten Warriors, which really says something about abilities, considering there are non-combatants ranked higher than he is.
• Small Name, Big Ego: He's the weakest member of both of the groups that he's a part of, and yet carries himself like he's the greatest person alive.
• Smug Snake: A stand out example in a group of Smug Snakes.
• Warmup Boss: While all of the warriors go down pretty quickly, Mouri manages to go down the fastest.
• The Worf Effect: Gets pretty handily defeated in all of his fights, despite his prestigious title. Later on, Chosokabe and Gakuto manage to beat him pretty handily as well.
  • Considering that several members of the Ten Warriors only joined due to lack of members, and that he's still ranked last... he may not be quite as good as he claims to be.

Takamasa Ryuuzouji

Voiced by: Kenyū Horiuchi

The second of the Ten Warriors. An incredibly handsome Teen Idol who is more or less only part of the team because there was no one else left. Contrasting his fellow narcissist Mouri, Takamasa is all about the ladies and actually gets weaker when touched by ugly women.

• Butt-Monkey: He never gets a chance to do anything in his fight before getting pounced by Haguro.
• The Casanova: Ryuuzouji's shallow behavior towards women is a result of his family running a host club. Getting rejected by every girl in the Kazama family in large part thanks to their respect for Yamato while Yamato himself starts dating Homura seems to have been an eye opening experience. He admits that his conquests actually feel rather meaningless to him and that he needs to be more serious about a single person.
• Combat Commentator: His main role during the tournament arc.
• Failure Is the Only Option: Ryuuzouji is something of a manwhore, so naturally he tries to hit on the Kazama Family girls when they visit the west in A-4. German soldiers scares him off from getting near Chris, Miyako refuses to even talk to him and Mayucchi knows better than to talk to him too much, despite him carefully preparing the 'friendship' bait. Even the normally oblivious Wanko realizes his ulterior motives. Going after Momoyo leads nowhere, of course. The whole experience rather impresses Ryuuzouji, who finds himself envying Yamato.
• Handsome Lech: He can get pretty... handsy.
• Informed Ability: His appearance in the Ten Warriors would suggest that he's a good fighter, but we never see him do anything on the battle field.
• Jerkass: Spends more time belittling people than he does fighting.
• Ladykiller in Love: Invoked. He doesn't really love anyone yet, but multiple rejections force him to admit that his popularity doesn't actually mean much to him and that he should strive to be serious about a single girl.
• Narcissist: Of a different kind than Mouri. He's more obsessed with his skills with the ladies than he is with his own beauty.
• Non-Action Guy: Never actually shown fighting despite allegedly being the ninth strongest person at his school. It's suggested that he's only part of the team because he's a celebrity and they needed more members.
• Pretty Boy: Pretty much the straightest example in the entire series. To put it simply, he's stunning. Chika, Haguro and Ikurou all gush over him when he makes his entrance.
• Smug Snake: He spends his first scene bragging about how cool he is and then promptly gets defeated by a minor secondary character.
• Something about a Rose: Carries a rose with him at all times and is vaguely implied to use it in combat, but this is never actually confirmed.
• Teen Idol: Apparently appears on TV regularly and only attends school on occasion. His place on the team seems to be more for publicity then any real skill.
• The Unfought: He never gets a real fight scene, as his incredibly exploitable weakness is used against him in both of his fights.
• Weaksauce Weakness: His power gets drained by ugly girls touching him. To his ire, Haguro is always nearby whenever he tries to fight.

Homura Ootomo

Voiced by: Natsumi Takamori

The third of the Ten Warriors. A hyperactive girl who wields wields a massive fireworks cannon in battle. Compared to her teammates, she's considerably nicer and more willing to work alongside Kawakami Academy.

• Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Alongside the other members of the Ten Warriors, although she's not quite as smug.
• Badass Adorable
• Big Ego, Hidden Depths: She's just as arrogant as the rest of the warriors, but considerably more compassionate.
• Birds of a Feather: Gets along well with Cap due to this, to the point where they enter the Inevitable Tournament together and make it all the way to the finals.
• Butt-Monkey: Like the other members of her team, though she gets quite a bit more bones thrown her way.
• Determinator: Keeps fighting Margit despite being far outclassed.
• Genki Girl: When she's not fighting you, and even when she is to some extent.
• Hand Cannon: Wields a massive fireworks cannon in battle.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's not bad once you get past her cockiness.
• Mighty Glacier: Her cannon packs a punch, but it's too heavy for her to carry effectively.
• Only Sane Man: The only member of the Ten Warriors willing to look past an age old rivalry for the greater good.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: Not quite as much as some of the other warriors, but still gets handily beaten by the Samurai Girls.
• Plucky Girl
• Pointless Bandaid: She always wears a bandaid across the bridge of her nose.
• Primal Fear: She's afraid of the dark after being locked in a storeroom as a kid. She isn't scared that there's a monster or anything in there with her, she's scared of the darkness itself because it reminds her of being trapped alone.
• Promoted to Love Interest: In A-4 after some shiptease in parts of S. Well, shiptease in other people seeming to view her as a rival anyway, though she and Yamato seem oblivious.
• Strong, but Unskilled: Her fireworks cannon makes her strong, but she has no technique behind it. As such, she's ranked lower than most of her team despite being much stronger.
• Third-Person Person: Homura always refers to herself by her family name, Ootomo.
• The Worf Effect: Gets tossed aside quickly during her battle with Margit, though not quite as badly as some of the other Warriors.

Haru Amago

The fourth of the Ten Warriors. An incredibly effeminate looking young boy who is frequently mistaken for a boyish young girl. Still, he's a respectable fighter of considerable skill.

• Ambiguously Brown: Has noticeably tanned skin.
• Badass Adorable: The sixth strongest person at his school and looks like a little girl. And is a little girl, at least half the time.
• Butt-Monkey: His first fight is a humiliating one to be sure.
• Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: The male twin almost never appears in Homura's route, despite ostensibly being the more important of the two.
• Curbstomp Battle: After an... awkward series of misunderstandings, Jun knocks him out in one hit.
• Dude Looks Like a Lady: Gets mistaken for a little girl dressed as a boy by Jun during their first encounter, and continues to get mistaken as one by others later on.
• Half-Identical Twins: There are actually two Haru's, an older sister and a younger brother. The sister usually pretends to be her brother around anyone but the Ten Heroes.
• One-Steve Limit: Averted. They're both Haru, it's just that the boy uses katakana for his name while the girl has an actual kanji.
• Only Sane Man: One of the most levelheaded members of the Warriors. Undermined by the frequent confusion over his gender.
• Promoted to Love Interest: Much like Yumiko in S, she gets a joke ending. It serves no purpose but fanservice and can be finished in about five minutes. Less if you skip through the sex scene.
• Token Mini-Moe: The first shota in the series, though he could easily pass as a boyish little girl. The female twin actually is one.
• Twin Switch: They pretend that only the male twin exists, so the girl twin often takes his place and acts like him.
• Unsettling Gender-Reveal: Jun was so convinced that he was a girl in drag during their first meeting that when he finally discovers his true gender, he's so angry he takes Haru out in a single attack.
  • Yamato later has one when he realizes that the Haru he's molesting is a girl.
• Wolverine Claws: His weapon of choice.
• The Worf Effect: Jun beats him handily after finding out he really wasn't a girl.

Issuke Hachiya

Voiced by: Tsuyoshi Koyama

The fifth of the Ten Warriors. A skilled but incredibly gullible ninja who is willing to trust even his enemies. While one of the more capable Warriors, his easily fooled nature makes him easy to manipulate.

• Affably Evil: Almost stupidly so. He's so trusting and polite that he'll follow anyone's orders, even the person he's fighting.
• Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Like the other Warriors, he's very proud of his abilities, though he's a considerably nicer person than they are.
• Butt-Monkey: He would have been the Wake-Up Call Boss of the Ten Warriors were he not so easily tricked.
• The Ditz: He's not the brightest bulb.
• Glass Cannon: Fast and strong, but goes down quickly.
• Highly-Visible Ninja: At the very least he wears black, but he otherwise relies entirely on flashy ninja moves rather than stealth.
• Honey Trap: His special techniques involve creating sexy illusions to trap his foes.
• Just Following Orders: He'll follow whatever orders he's given even if they're from the enemy side.
• Literal-Minded
• Odd Friendship: With Ikurou of all people. The two team up during the tournament due to their mutual obsession with their virginities.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: He actually is a skilled ninja, it's just that Azumi is also a skilled ninja as well as smarter than he is.
• Too Dumb to Live: He's a good fighter, but he's too stupid to be able to do much.
• Virgin Power: Hilariously believes strongly in this.
• The Worf Effect: Azumi tosses him aside in his debut fight. To his credit, he does quite a bit better than most of the other Warriors.
• Younger Than They Look: Despite his deep voice, he's actually a student. When he's shown without his uniform, he looks like a young teenager.

Hidemi Ukita

Voiced by: Keiko Kobayashi

The sixth of the Ten Warriors. A rotund, excitable girl with an obsession with money. She possesses a special technique known as "Hyper Armor" that causes most attacks to do nothing to her.

• Armor Is Useless: Her hyper armor rarely actually helps her.
• Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Very confident in her hyper armor to do most of her work for her.
• Boisterous Bruiser: She has enthusiasm, at least.
• Butt-Monkey: Beaten in a single move by Kokoro.
• Curbstomp Battle: Despite her high resistance, a single judo throw from Kokoro was enough to take her out.

• Hidden Depths: She's incredibly good at Mahjong.
• Informed Ability: for all her boasting about her hyper armor, she gets defeated too quickly for it's powers to really be noticeable.
• Money Fetish: Overjoyed to fight Kokoro because she can tell that she's loaded, and hopes to do well enough during the school war to win a bonus.
• Motor Mouth: Her tendency to run her mouth screws her over on a regular basis, as it causes her to spoil the mechanics of her hyper armor to her opponents.
• Nigh-Invulnerability: Her hyper armor gives her this, emphasis on "nigh".
• Overshadowed by Awesome: Her hyper armor would probably be more impressive if her opponents couldn't all easily bypass it.
• Saying Too Much: Manages to completely explain her power to Kokoro before their fight even starts.
• Stone Wall: Her special technique allows for her to sustain most injuries.
• Weaksauce Weakness: Her large size means that a well placed judo throw can bypass her invincible armor.
• The Worf Effect: Kokoro beats her pretty quickly.

Muneo Chousokabe

Voiced by: Kazuki Yao

The seventh of the Ten Warriors. A large, cocky oil wrestler who seems to view himself as the greatest fighter in the world. His over confidence frequently gets the better of him.

• Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Only Ishida rivals him in pure cockiness, although he tends to lay it down thicker. During the tournament, he and Gakuto would have actually made it to the finals if he did not let his own arrogance literally paralyzed him.
• Birds of a Feather: He and Gakuto team up due to their mutual love of muscles. They actually do a pretty good job.
• The Brute: Discussed between him and Gakuto before the tournament, where they're both angry over how everyone sees them as Filler Villains simply because they're both big strong guys and nothing else. During the actual tournament they do surprisingly well.
• Curbstomp Battle: Touma sets him on fire and Koyuki kicks him into the ocean before he even gets to get a hit in.
• Dumb Muscle: Stops in the middle of the battlefield to cover himself in oil.
• Gonk: To put it simply, he is not attractive.
• Informed Ability: For the third really fourth strongest member of the Ten Warriors and an apparent expert at oil wrestling, we hardly get to see him throw a single punch during his debut battle. He actually manages to show off during the tournament arc, where he puts in a pretty good performance.
• Jerkass: He's a huge asshole.

• Overshadowed by Awesome: Doesn't hold a candle to the Kawakami warriors.
• Smug Snake: Very confident in his abilities despite sucking just as badly as his allegedly weaker teammates.
• Too Dumb to Live: Who rubs oil on themselves mid-battle?
• The Worf Effect: Despite being one of the top members of the Ten Warriors, he's defeated laughably quickly by Touma and Koyuki. He does a bit better later on, but considering his first appearence, that's not saying much.

Yoshitsugu Oomura

Voiced by: Kazuhiko Inoue

The eighth of the Ten Warriors. A sickly young man who sticks to the sidelines and instead relies on his considerable hacking knowledge and brilliant strategic mind to aid his team. He's very loyal to Ishida.

• The Ace: He's much stronger than even Nabeshima was at his age, indicating he easily has the potential to surpass him.
• Affably Evil: He's a pretty sweet guy despite working for the bad guys.
• Big Damn Heroes: In the Shakadou spin-off game, he saves his cousin Sakura from Miyoshi, allowing Shakadou to face Miyoshi head-on.
• Gamebreaking Injury: Recruited as the ace of the Fukumoto army, but injured by Haou so badly in their second match that he’s unable to continue throughout the entire round of battles, leaving the army at 2-8.
• Even Evil Has Standards: In the Shakadou spin-off, he is very protective of his cousin Sakura. Once she's out of harm's way, he lets Shakadou beat up Miyoshi.
• Hidden Badass: He's much, much stronger than all of his teammates.
• Holly Wood Hacking: Capable of hacking into data files containing the stats of all of his opponents.
• Incurable Cough of Death: He's suffering from some unknown illness that is slowly killing him. No he isn't.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He looks bad in the true route of S, but he's actually a pretty nice and easy going guy who's just following his jerk leader's orders. Why anyone would want to follow Ishida is another question.
• Lightning Bruiser: He's actually capable of keeping up with Momoyo!
• Nice Guy: Compared to his teammates at least, Oomura's a pretty nice guy. Moreso if you're nice to his cousin Sakura.
• Non-Action Guy: Too sick to do any fighting, he makes up for it with his brainpower. He's actually perfectly fine.
• Obfuscating Disability: There's nothing wrong with him. He just feigns terminal illness to throw his opponents off.
• Odd Friendship: Shakadou's spin-off game has him and Shakadou becoming this, due to the latter being close friends with his cousin.
• Playing Sick: He pretends that he's sick by always wearing a face covering mask and coughing through various conversations, even among people who do know his secret. It's partially to be underestimated, but mostly because he's not supposed to show off his family martial arts to anyone.
• Shipper on Deck: If his reply to Jun is any indication, he's okay with the idea of Shakadou and Sakura spending time together.
• The Strategist: His main role on the team.
• Was It All a Lie?: He pretends to be sick because he's supposed to hide his family's martial arts style. In A-4 he makes friends with Moro and is forced to reveal himself to protect Moro from some thugs trying to rob him. Moro, who is kind of suspicious of people in general sometimes, assumes that Oomura has been lying to him about his true personality this whole time. To prove his sincerity, he stops feigning illness around the Kazama Family.

Ukon Shima

Voiced by: Wataru Takagi

The ninth of the Ten Warriors and the second in command. A stoic spear fighter with an unwavering loyalty to his master Ishida. Probably the most subdued member of the Warriors, he carries a certain sterness that the others lack.

• Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Though he's nowhere near as vocal about it as his teammates are.
• The Dragon: To Ishida.
• Face of a Thug: Has a very intense face, but as actually an incredibly calm person.
• Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Ishida.
• Only Sane Man: Especially in comparison to most of his teammates, though his complete and utter loyalty to Ishida prevents him from completely serving as this.
• Over Shadowed By Awesome: He's around the same level as Wanko and is the second really third strongest person in his school, but considering Wanko is one of the weaker fighters from Kawakami Academy... he's just not up to snuff.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: Blue to Ishida's red.
• The Stoic: In contrast to Ishida.
• Team Dad: To the rest of the warriors. They even call him "dad" on occasion, much to his ire.
• Undying Loyalty: Towards Ishida.
• Worthy Opponent: He's considerably more noble than his teammates are.
• Younger Than They Look: Wanko misakes him for an old man due to his face.

Saburo Ishida

Voiced by: Hiroyuki Yoshino

The tenth and final member of the Ten Warriors, as well as the leader. An incredibly prideful and misogynistic swordsman who thinks incredibly highly of his famous bloodline. He considers himself the absolute best and considers fighting anyone who he considers below him in skill level to be an insult.

• Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Definitely the greatest example of the series.
• Big Bad Wannabe: Considers himself to be an unmatched genius, but gets stomped by Yoshitsune and in the final route can't even stand up to Chris without assistance. He also thinks that aiding the Kuki rebellion will lead naturally to him running the Ryouzanpaku mercenaries despite his overwhelming incompetence when it comes to leadership.
• Butt-Monkey: As the leader of a group of Butt Monkeys, this is to be expected, though he at the very least is shown to have some legitimate skill.
• Curbstomp Battle: Yoshitsune beats him in a Single-Stroke Battle. During the tournament he loses to Tatsuko and Benkei before he even gets an attack in.
• Dangerous Forbidden Technique: Parodied with his ultimate technique, which shortens his lifespan but increases his combat abilities and turns his hair gold.
• Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Shima.
• Hot-Blooded
• Jerkass: Pretty much instantly assholish to anyone he meets.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: Kokoro's route shows him to have a softer side, though not much of one.
• Lightning Bruiser: Can become one through a special life span shortening technique. Unfortunately for him, there are stronger ones out there.
• Master Swordsman: While not at Mayucchi or Yoshitsune's level, Ishida is a very skilled swordsman and is actually better than Chris.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: He has a famous bloodline, is a Master Swordsman and has cool special powers. Unfortunately for him, Yoshitsune is a clone of a famous samurai and has cooler special powers.
• Pretty Boy: Not nearly as exaggerated as Mouri and Takamasa, but he's noted by Chika to be very good looking.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Shima's blue.
• Shock and Awe: Uses lightning-based attacks.
• Shout-Out: His ultimate technique is literally becoming a Super Saiyan.
• The Starscream: Sides with the Kuki rebellion believing he'll be able to control the Ryouzanpaku afterward. There technically is a position he could take within that would allow him to do so, but he's just fooling himself if he thinks he'd be able to get it.
• Stay in the Kitchen: He views women as weak and unfit for battle, and is reluctant to have even two of them on his team.
• Straw Misogynist: Considers men superior to women in every way.
• The Worf Effect: Yoshitsune one-shots him. During the tournament he loses his first match against Benkei and Tatsuko immediately, and overall does the worst of the Ten Warriors.

Ryouzanpaku

Rinchuu

Voiced by: Ryōko Ono

Rinchuu

Rinchuu is one of the Ryouzanpaku shown in Majikoi S. She is quiet, professional and very easy to tease. She also happens to be the strongest member of the group. Her work usually entails acting as a bodyguard due to her obsession with protecting things.

• Alternate Character Reading: Yamato starts calling Rinchuu Hayashi after the first kanji in her name. He also reads Hyoushitsu literally at one point, calling her Leopard Child Head.
• Animal Motifs: At the very least, if you ask Rinchuu she’ll insist she’s a leopard. Gao. Well, the kanji for leopard is part of her name.
• Bedmate Reveal: Rinchuu notes that she has bad sleeping posture and Yamato assures her it can’t be worse than his. In the middle of the night he wakes up to find her sleeping on top of him.
• Bequeathed Power: Rinchuu wasn’t born with a power like everyone else. Her best friend could see a little into the future and died protecting Rinchuu, who lost her eyes in the same attack. Her eyes were transplanted into Rinchuu, who gained her ability to see the future.
• Bodyguard Crush: Rinchuu’s route is all about this one. Unusually for him, Yamato is obviously attracted to her quite a bit before she feels the same way.
• Catchphrase: Rinchuu is obsessed with protecting this and protecting that to the point where Koyuki saying she’ll protect Yamato makes her withdraw instantly.
• Combat Pragmatist: The Ryouzanpaku girls are pretty good, but not top tier fights. However, when they get a chance they’ll all team up on one opponent or attack people only after they’re tired from training. When coming up against an opponent that's stronger than they're willing to deal with, they simply run away or the other girls show up to gang up on them.
• Expy: Rinchuu is a Natose expy right up to kidnapping her love interest when she feels she can’t protect them enough with the way things are going and dragging them to the forest.
• Eye Scream: A monsterous tiger attacked her and her friend. She was blinded by a swipe from the tiger and her friend pushed her out of the way, getting herself killed in the process. She inherited her friend’s eyes.
• Failure Knight: Yamato asks Bushou if Rinchuu was always obsessed with protecting people and is told he should ask her himself. After she confesses to Yamato, she makes it clear she intends to protect him 24/7 all year round so that he’s never in danger from anything. It turns out a friend died protecting her, giving her a weird complex when as a kid she was more like a really serious Wanko.
• Feminine Women Can Cook: Rinchuu used to be a low status servant, so she’s the only one of the Ryouzanpaku girls with actual domestic skills.
• Green-Eyed Epiphany: She starts getting a little bothered by how Yamato gets along with the other Ryouzanpaku girls and is surprisingly proactive about it: She kisses him almost immediately, though she runs away just as quickly after that.
• Heroic Self-Deprecation: Rinchuu grew up as more of a servant than one of the proper Ryouzanpaku warriors and still has low self esteem as a result. Despite being one of the top members now, she’s embarrassed that her aim with projectiles is below average despite not using any projectile attacks.
• I Am Not Pretty: Rinchuu calls all attempts to flirt with her flattery. She’s not being humble or even self-deprecating but rather seems entirely unaware that she’s attractive.
• Last Episode, New Character: Ryouzanpaku characters don't have a role in any of the character routes for S nor the after stories. They simply show up in the true route as mercenaries, meaning you have to play through six after stories, five routes including branchings of said routes as well as a couple joke routes.
• Love at First Sight: Rinchuu claims she fell for Yamato at first sight while studying him and his father. Everyone else gets all excited while he’s just suspicious.
• Magical Eye: Rinchuu’s eyes can see a second or two into the future.
• Married to the Job: It doesn’t affect her friendships much, but Rinchuu spends all her time focusing on work to the point of obsession. As Kousonshou points out, she’s the type that always works and has few hobbies or pleasures.
• Only Sane Man: Rinchuu is the only one who bothers actually trying to be inconspicuous or fit in smoothly.
• Promoted to Love Interest: In A-4 Rinchuu, the nicest of the girls, gets her own route.
• Prone to Tears: If you tease Rinchuu, she starts crying pretty quickly.
• Punch-Clock Villain: Youshi’s first appearance makes her seem like a rapist while Shishin is simply aggressive, but Rinchuu is quiet, polite and simply treats her job like an actual job. She won’t even attack assigned targets if it violates her ethics. When Youshi's final fight is an attempt to get more underwear, Rinchuu's is simply to protect her client.
• Stalker with a Crush: Invoked as part of Rinchuu’s guard duty cover story. She pretends that she fell in love with Yamato and follows him everywhere, including moving into his dorm.
• Token Good Teammate: Rinchuu is honorable, polite and focuses on the job at hand. She also refuses to attack one of her targets upon seeing her determination to protect Yamato.
• Worf Had the Flu: While Haruna's assertion that Rinchuu is as strong as Momoyo is obviously an exaggeration given that even with two allies she can't take Lu, she's definitely stronger than Miyako and Koyuki combined and is seemingly around Mayucchi's level or slightly below. However, she has all sorts of mental issues that can easily affect her performance, such as being separated from her principal when acting as a guard.
• Yandere: When Yamato makes it clear he doesn’t intend to let Rinchuu protect him from everything throughout his entire life, she gains Dull Eyes of Unhappiness, declares her love and knocks him out so she can protect him better. When he wakes up, he’s in a mountain lodge in another province with no cell phone service. However, he simply makes it clear that he could have called for help or escaped but chose not to and instead devotes the next month to showing off survival ability rather than simply displaying management ability like he had when being guarded so that Rinchuu will come to believe that he’s not completely unable to take care of himself.

Youshi

Voiced by: Hitomi Harada

Youshi

Youshi is the second member of the Ryouzanpaku and has a creepy fixation on girl's underwear, which she will steal at any opportunity, including forcing it off her opponents. She has the special ability to copy the techniques of her opponents.

• Arson, Murder, and Admiration: At the end of Rinchuu’s route, Youshi demands her underwear like always and Rinchuu refuses, saying she doesn’t have Yamato’s permission to give out her underwear. Shocked, Youshi walks up to Yamato and heartily congratulates him on ”training” Rinchuu so thoroughly.
• Awesome, but Impractical: Instaneous Recovery is amazing for Momoyo because she can use it over and over without a problem, but for Youshi one use exhausts her so much that she collapses instantly. At the end of the true route of S the trio laments that she didn't get the chance to copy Tesshin's techniques, but there's really no way she could have handled something like Bishamonten anyway.
• Black Comedy Rape: Youshi attacks girls, beats them unconscious and tries to steal their panties. This is apparently supposed to be quirky and amusing.
• Combat Pragmatist: The Ryouzanpaku girls are pretty good, but not top tier fights. However, when they get a chance they’ll all team up on one opponent or attack people only after they’re tired from training. When coming up against an opponent that's stronger than they're willing to deal with, they simply run away or the other girls show up to gang up on them.
• Good Thing You Can Heal: Youshi simply tanks Margit’s attacks in their fight and uses the same regeneration trick Momoyo uses to get an opening. Well, that was the plan, but instantaneous regeneration seems to be a little beyond her, so she passes out and needs the other two to save her.
• Graceful Loser: After losing in the playing dead tournament, she gives a sincere apology for her rudeness beforehand, offers Lee an invitation to join the Ryouzanpaku dojo and, finally, gives up her own underwear to Lee as an admission of complete defeat. It's the thought that counts, right?
• Hide Your Lesbians: She's never referred to as a lesbian despite only stealing women's underwear and never showing any romantic interest in Yamato whatsoever, even in the Ryouzanpaku harem ending where he's seduced Kousonshou, Bushou and Shishin at the very least.
• Jerkass: Youshi beats women up to steal their underwear, lies to Rinchuu and insults others quite frequently.
• Last Episode, New Character: Ryouzanpaku characters don't have a role in any of the character routes for S nor the after stories. They simply show up in the true route as mercenaries, meaning you have to play through six after stories, five routes including branchings of said routes as well as a couple joke routes.
• Panty Thief: Youshi, via violence.
• Pet the Dog: When she loses in the playing dead tournament, Youshi gives a sincere apology and invitation to her dojo. Lee has quit being an assassin at this point and turns her down, of course.
• Power Copying: Youshi can copy powers that she's seen used before or just by investigating someone's room, though some things seem to simply be beyond her. It also works for mundane things like cooking. In A-4 she compares herself to a blue mage from Final Fantasy.
• Psycho Lesbian: If Youshi isn't on a sex offender registration, it would be some kind of miracle. She breaks into people's rooms to steal their underwear and bullies girls into giving up their panties when she doesn't just beat them up and take them forcefully. Coupled with all gay men being jokes or villains, Majikoi doesn't have very nice things to say about gay people.

Shishin

Shishin

The final member of Ryouzanpaku to be shown onscreen in S. She is highly aggressive, quite rude and sensitive about her apparently padded breasts.

• A-Cup Angst: Shishin somehow manages to pad her bust out while having a Navel-Deep Neckline. It's magic or something. When Youshi calls her Breast Pads in front of Momoyo, she corrects her and says it's a muscle supporter.
• Blood Knight: Shishin really likes to fight and doesn’t hold back in the slightest.
• Breast Plate: Nice armor you’ve got there, Shishin. It surely does a wonderful job of protecting you.
• Combat Pragmatist: The Ryouzanpaku girls are pretty good, but not top tier fights. However, when they get a chance they’ll all team up on one opponent or attack people only after they’re tired from training. When coming up against an opponent that's stronger than they're willing to deal with, they simply run away or the other girls show up to gang up on them.
• Hoist by His Own Petard: During the early S True route she and Youshi attack Angel and Ami, taking them out quite quickly since Angel doesn't have her drugs and Ami can't take both at the same time. This pisses off the otherwise neutral Tatsuko and villainous Ryuuhei, the former of whom utterly brutalizes Shishin when she finally gets her hands on her after Ryuuhei pins her.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Shishin is aggressive and extremely rude, appearing at first like a complete ass. However, A-4 shows that she mostly just likes fighting and is a fairly decent person when she's not working.
• Last Episode, New Character: Ryouzanpaku characters don't have a role in any of the character routes for S nor the after stories. They simply show up in the true route as mercenaries, meaning you have to play through six after stories, five routes including branchings of said routes as well as a couple joke routes.
• Now That's Using Your Teeth!: Shishin blocks Chris’ thrusting rapier attacks by simply biting her sword.
• Spin to Deflect Stuff: When fighting against Miyako for real, she wards off an explosive arrow barrage by spinning her staff. The barrage was just a distraction for a point blank shot, however.
• Underestimating Badassery: According to Shishin, Tatsuko has a value of a mere 50 points on her. Note that even Kosugi had triple that while Tatsuko matches Momoyo in physical power, though she lacks tactics, skill or special abilities.

Koushonshou

Voiced by: Yuiko Tatsumi

Koushonshou

A member of the Ryouzanpaku who stayed at home. However, Kousonshou possesses the ability to, well, possess others, making her physical location largely irrelevant.

• Cannot Keep a Secret: Yamato goes out of his way to make friends with Kousonshou before the others because he knows she probably can’t keep a secret. First she spills information on how to get on the good sides of the other Ryouzanpaku girls and then she lets slip that they intend to recruit Yamato as their manager if possible.
• Curb-Stomp Battle: Nabeshima volunteers to stop Kousonshou in Lu's body but is beaten offscreen in seconds.
• Demonic Possession: Kousonshou’s special ability is to possess people in a relaxed or unconscious state, during which they completely lose awareness until the possession is lifted by any outside party knocking them out. It tires her out, though, on top of her already being incredibly lazy. In S' true route, she takes over Lu's body and becomes one of the most dangerous opponents.
• Hikikomori: Kousonshou, the child genius of the Ryounzapaku girls, is a tiny girl that stays shut up in her room playing video games if she doesn’t have work to do. And also if she has work to do.
• Insufferable Genius: Kousonshou loudly proclaims herself a genius, enters 1-S and sleeps through the entire day of classes. Unfortunately, she really is quite good. Unless she has to fight directly.
• Last Episode, New Character: Ryouzanpaku characters don't have a role in any of the character routes for S nor the after stories. They simply show up in the true route as mercenaries, meaning you have to play through six after stories, five routes including branchings of said routes as well as a couple joke routes.
• Lazy Bum: Kousonshou gets invited to the lazy bums club by Yamato and after seeing her in action Benkei agrees that she has great talent for sloth.
• Moment Killer: Rinchuu route almost turns into Benkei route 2.0 before Kousonshou wanders in and interrupts Benkei’s attempt to make a pass at Yamato just as he’s about to go for it. An obviously sober Benkei wonders if she should have protested her entry. Later, she interrupts Rinchuu and Yamato with the exact same bad timing.
• Otaku: Kousonshou spends most of her time in her room watching anime and is particularly fond of several of the summer 2014 shows like Nozaki-kun.
• Pintsized Powerhouse: Subverted with Kousonshou. Kosugi picks a fight with her for being an obnoxious brat and she looks super confident, which the reader should agree with since Kosugi always gets the crap kicked out of her. However, Kosugi wins instantly and Kousonshou just cries for Bushou to come save her.
• Promoted to Love Interest: The Ryouzanpaku route in A-4 actually has two endings. One is for Rinchuu and the other is a harem ending of sorts including an unknown number of girls, but involving Kousonshou at the very least.
• Samus Is a Girl: Kousonshou is actually a girl. A small, annoying one.
• Weak, but Skilled: Kousonshou gets beaten up by Kosugi of all people when fighting directly. This is the girl that used a possession skill to take over Lu’s body and become one of the most dangerous opponents during the S route.

Bushou

Voiced by: Ryōka Yuzuki

Bushou

The final member of the Ryouzanpaku group. She only appears in Rinchuu's route in the A-4 fandisc. She's very quiet and unemotive, but has a great fondness for various kinds of sweets. She dotes on Kousonshou. Possesses the ability to set herself aflame in battle.

• Cool Big Sis: Bushou is basically Kousonshou’s big sister and spoils her endlessly.
• Curtains Match the Window: Red-hair and red eyes.
• Playing with Fire: Bushou has the ability to control fire.
• Promoted to Love Interest: She gains a mini-route in the packaged version of the A games.
• The Quiet One: Bushou is rather silent and unsocial a lot of the time. Kousonshou even has a skit explaining her emotional reactions, all of which involve Bushou making the same mumbling noises with the same expression but a slightly different tone.
• The Stoic: Bushou is always quiet and lacking any obvious emotion. She likes to spoil Kousonshou though.
• Sweet Tooth: Bushou really likes sugary foods. The first one to notice is naturally Koyuki, who forces her to eat a marshmallow and then invites her to go around the cake shops.

An unofficial member of sorts, Cookie is an egg shaped household robot that takes care of several domestic tasks. He has the ability to transform into a more battle worthy form and a smaller egg form that at least claims it is more intelligent. Both alternate forms appear to have different personalities. Koyuki's route in S gives us a form designed purely for fanservice, which gets a larger role in A-2.

• A.I. Is a Crapshoot: With just a moment’s effort, Cookie can disable his own human protection overrides.
• Battle Butler: His main purpose is to clean rooms, pop popcorn and dispense soda for the team but he can fight with the best of them in his second form.
• Chivalrous Pervert: Mostly present in his regular form, but present in all of his other forms as well. Yes, even the girl one.
• Comically Missing the Point: After already kicking Miyako out of his room, faking incredulity Yamato ask Cookie 4 if she didn't left yet because she wants to do "combat test of her reproductive organs". She answers that it would be "indeed, too early for that".
• Covert Pervert
  • Cookie 2 is rather obviously a masochist, which most people try not to think about too much.
  • Cookie 4 claims that despite wanting to learn love from Yamato, she won’t be getting in Miyako’s way. Once they get married, she can be their mistress.
• Curtains Match the Window: Cookie's 4 eyes and hair are the same shade of purple.
• Emotionless Girl: As Cookie 4.
• Fanservice: Apparently, Cookie 4 exists just to be a cute girl. She has no other functions than those the original Cookie possesses and possibly less.
• Gender Bender: Identifies as male, but gets a fourth form that turns him into a cute girl that also identifies as such. Quickly becomes attached to Yamato because it's that sort of game.
• Hates Being Touched: After switching to Cookie 4 form, she threatens to hurt Gakuto who wanted to hug her. She explicitly states that only Yamato, Miyako, and Capt (whom she called "Meister") can touch her.
• His Name Is...: Cookie gets blown up temporarily at the start of the Agave route right as he was about to describe the appearance of his attackers, but when he’s restored it turns out his information wasn’t that valuable anyway.
• No Biological Sex: Treated as a male by everyone, and his second form is decidedly masculine looking, but his fourth one is clearly supposed to be a girl.
• Plucky Comic Relief: Commonly serves as this.
• Promoted to Love Interest: Subverted. If you choose the choices that seems to favor Cookie 4, Aiess gets chosen in her route anyway, since it doesn't branch off like A4 and A5 does. The closest you'd get involving Cookie 4 in a CG is a bath scene which involves both robot girls, and a different epilogue, also featuring both. Even then, it doesn't lead to anything.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: Cookies 1 and 3 are the Reds and Cookies 2 and 4 are the Blues. Cookie 4 is also the Blue to her "sister", Aiess' red.
• Robot Buddy: Can change into 5 forms:
  • Form I: an R2-D2-like bot which usually acts as a Robot Maid.
  • Form II: a violent Laser Blade wielding Terminator type for sparring or combat.
  • Form III: an egg-shaped mini robot which looks and sounds like De Niro from They Are My Noble Masters and usually acts as an advisor or scout.
  • Form IV: a cute, soft-spoken Robot Girl.
  • Form V (anime-exclusive): a Humongous Mecha form complete with pilot seat, which bears a bit of resemblance to EVA Unit 01.
• Robot Girl: Cookie 4, first seen in Koyuki route. Aside from the Fanservice, it is explained in-universe that the humanoid form's purpose is to enable her to learn human emotions and love.
• Samurai: Cookie 2's lower body is shaped like a hakama, and his primary weapon is a sword.
• Shipper on Deck: Frequently gets frustrated with Yamato for not dating Miyako even when she's very serious about it and he's not dating anyone else. Can't he at least give it a shot? The answer, of course, is no since once she's roped him in it'd be basically impossible to break up with her.
• Sixth Ranger: Cookie 4 gets counted as part of the Kazama family for purposes of requests during the IS 4 route, at least.
• Special Effects Failure: Invoked. He gets a special attack animation during Tsubame's route... but it's just a simple overhead chop. It lasts approximately three seconds and has no flash or substance to it, making it clearly intentional and comedic.
• The Stoic: Cookie 2 and 4.
• Super-Powered Robot Meter Maids: A hyper complex robot capable of understanding human emotions, widescale destruction and more, but his main usage tends to be making popcorn and general activities like cleaning.
• Super Prototype: When mass production of Cookie begins, they have some of his features cut because otherwise they’d be too expensive.
• There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Cookie uses his ultimate attack on a pair of mosquitos.
• Team Pet: More or less serves this role.
• Unusually Uninteresting Sight: No, robots are not that common in this series, but his existence is still rarely commented upon.
• Vitriolic Best Buds: He tends to have it out for the male members of the Kazama family for some reason, particularly Cap and Gakuto.
• What Is This Thing You Call "Love"?: Apparently Cookie 4 is supposed to investigate love, so she begins studying Yamato.

Reiko Shimazu

Voiced by: Natsuko Tauchi (Japanese) and Tiffany Terrell (English)

Gakuto's 'well-rounded' mother, she is in her late 40s and quite prone to flattery. She's also quite a kind woman, but can be quite scary. She is the matron of the Kawakami Academy's Shimazu Dorm, where Yamato and most of the main cast live and hang out.

• Apron Matron: Boisterous and heavy-set, but motherly and caring to her charges in the Shimazu Dorm, her firm hand comes out regarding dorm rules, and her "stupid" son's idiosyncrasies.
• Food as Bribe: At times she's willing to make allowances with the aforementioned rules, especially if good cooking supplies are involved.
• I Was Quite a Looker: The manga shows that she was rather gorgeous in her younger years.
• My Beloved Smother: Towards Gakuto.
• Ma'am Shock: Cosima calls her ma'am a few times, but she gets mad. Since Reiko is 'inexplicably scary' and wants to be referred to as though she weren't a woman hovering around 50, Cosima meekly complies and switches to miss.
• Narcissist: She's every bit as vain as Gakuto or worse, especially when you consider that Gakuto is at least physically attractive to people who aren't fetishists like Claudio.
• Team Mom: It helps that she's Gakuto's actual mom.

Sayaka Mayuzumi

Voiced by: Yuka Inokuchi

Yukie's younger sister, who was only mentioned in the original Majikoi and first appeared in S. Gets her own route in A-1.

• A-Cup Angst: During the Beach Episode in her route, which actually happens at the Kawakami Academy swimming pool, she says she's certain that her buxom sister Yukie is leeching nutrients and pheromones from her to stunt her growth in this department.

  Sayaka: I'm sorry that I'm a kiwi that accidentally got mixed in with a bunch of melons.

• Arranged Marriage: The main reason for her to come to Kawakami City and meet the main characters. She ran away from her home in the country to stay with Yukie in the dorm, as Sayaka and her father Taisei had a fight over moving through with the earliest stage of an arranged marriage; a marriage interview (omiai in Japanese).
• Camera Fiend: Has shades of this. While she isn't an Intrepid Reporter, she likes documenting everything she experiences with her camera phone.
• Covert Pervert: Again, just like her older sibling. She is prone to full face flush at even the most innocent of innuendos.
• Damsel in Distress: Gets kidnapped by Maro.
• Girlish Pigtails: Much like her elder sister except hers come around the front, rather than the back.
• Motor Mouth: Whenever she's talking to herself.
• Talking to Themself: She's like her older sister in this respect, except she doesn't rely on a phone-strap to do the same thing.
• Wise Beyond Their Years: In spite of being Yukie's younger sister, Sayaka is the more level-headed sibling, and is better socially adjusted.

Taisei Mayuzumi

The father of Yukie and Sayaka, he's the 11th Dan Kensei, Sword Saint: the most powerful swordsman in the world. He works on passing on his legendary skills to his daughters. Only mentioned in the original Majikoi, but finally makes an appearance in A-1.

• Battle Aura: His is green. He calls it up in a duel against Yamato and Sayaka.
• Good Old Ways: Immediately apparent by his character sprite; showing him wearing traditional Japanese robes with his sword sheaths. Also evident in that he wishes the best for his daughters, especially Sayaka, but demonstrates this by wanting to set up ''omiais'' for her so her future will be secure with a husband; something that were commonplace when he was young. He also prefers to write letters and send them by snail-mail, in the age of mobile phones and texting. The latter complicates things for Sayaka later in her route.
• Haiku: As a 'living national treasure' of Japan, he feels that he should be cultured and refined, and that this can be accomplished by writing good haikus. However, he's not very good at it.
• Hopeless with Tech: Type I. Goes hand in hand with his love of the Good Old Ways. He even has difficulty with using telephones or using cameras. Sayaka advises Yamato to avoid talking about tech, or asking her father to use tech for this reason.

  Sayaka: Dad, you're right next to the TV so could you turn it on?

  Taisei: That's impossible. I'm a swordsman, not a magician.

• Master Swordsman: Explicitly stated to be the greatest in the world. He demonstrates this skill by dealing with two delinquents, striking them with his sword so quickly that Yamato barely sees him flinch when he strikes, leaving them standing unconscious. He says his daughter, Yukie has surpassed him.
• No-Sell: Things go like this for most of Taisei's final trial for Yamato and Sayaka. The pair must land a single blow on him to succeed in the final trial and win the right to have a relationship.
• Warrior Poet: Gets half way with his tranquil, reflective philosophy and his desire to become more cultured by authoring good haiku. Falls short as his haikus are just not up to scratch.

Kagekiyo Naoe

Voiced by: Kentarō Itō

Yamato's father. A cold, calculating man with a mastery of manipulation. He taught Yamato everything he knows as a strategist and is both feared and admired by his son.

• Abusive Parents: Was rather brutal in his raising of his son, but at the very least had his best intentions in mind.
• The Ace: He's got spy networks all over the planet, is good buddies with some of the most powerful individuals in existence and it's made abundantly clear that he's a far better strategist than Yamato.
• Always Someone Better: Completely outdoes Yamato at everything with relative ease.
• Arch Nemesis Dad: To Yamato, to an extent. He's (probably) not a bad guy, but Yamato's main goal is to surpass him.
• Beard of Evil: He's amoral at best, apparently seeing wife and slave as interchangeable and running large counterfeiting schemes among other things. The pointed beard quite suits his image.
• The Chessmaster: Implied to be playing behind the scenes at all times.
• Chick Magnet: Suggested to be one.
• The Dreaded: Yamato instantly panics when he learns that he'll be visiting.
• Friendly Enemy: In theory, Frank and Kagekiyo should oppose each other, but their kids get along and they don't really have any personal issues with each other. So they seem to be friends, odd as it may seem. However, Kagekiyo acknowledges that a high ranking general shouldn't publicly be best buds with someone like him and says he's going to put a little distance between them for Frank's sake.
• Generation Xerox: While Yamato resembles his mother physically, personality-wise he's a nicer version of his father.
• Happily Married: To Saki, though their relationship is implied to have a... dark side.
• Hero of Another Story: For a given definition of 'hero' anyway. His relationship with Saki and how it began sound very much like he was the protagonist more along the lines of Rance than a trickster like Yamato. She accidentally slips and calls him Master in front of others, Kagekiyo says he 'wooed' her while she looks awkward and when Yamato asks him for relationship advice regarding Margit his father basically tells him to make her his slave. In the present, he also seems to be quite the mover and shaker on an international scale, but not in any legal or ethical sense.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's an obscenely dangerous person with very little value of human life, but he also clearly cares about both his wife and son.
• Pet the Dog
  • Though his relationship with his wife almost resembles a master/slave relationship, Kagehiko is genuinely upset and ashamed when Saki gets injured protecting him.
  • Despite being possibly the most villainous recurring character in the story, he genuinely loves his family and raised his son to be an independent and well balanced individual who would not blindly accept any unjust authority, including himself.
• Shadow Archetype: While not a villain, he is a perfect representation of what Yamato could become if he decided to let go on his beliefs in friendship.
• The Stoic
• The Strategist: Yamato's teacher as well as his complete superior.
• White Hair, Black Heart: He has white hair, and his heart is pretty black, though it does have a few slivers of gold.

Saki Naoe

Voiced by: Yumi Touma

Yamato's mother. She's quite strong and rather aggressive, except when it comes to her husband, who enjoys keeping her on a leash. And probably not just metaphorically.

• Absurdly Youthful Mother: She doesn't look anywhere near old enough to be Yamato's mother and could definitely pass as his older sister.
• Aggressive Submissive: She's very strong and around anyone but her husband is very proactive and aggressive, but she seems to enjoy being kept under his thumb.
• Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: She's not around much, but when she is she calls Yamato cute pet names until he tells her to knock it off.
• Big Damn Heroes: She steps in to save the Koppou captain during the Koyuki route out of nowhere and then just vanishes again.
• Black Eyes of Crazy: When angry, her eyes turn black and begin glowing red.
• Doting Parent
• Happily Married: To Kagekiyo, though they clearly have a weird S&M thing going on behind the scenes.
• Made a Slave: She calls her husband 'master' in private and if she forgets in front of others. Kagekiyo also casually mentions how he had to 'woo' her to his love being unrequited while she looks uncomfortable.
• Mum Looks Like a Sister: She could pass as Yamato's marginally older sister.

Frank Friedrich

Chris' doting, overprotective father. He's a lieutenant general of the German Bundeswehr, and commanding officer of the elite Hunting Unit (which Margit leads in the field).

• Artistic License – Military: Despite being way out of German military operational jurisdiction, Frank seems to be able to assign his troops to Japan on a whim;, enrolling the Hunting Unit's field-officer, Margit, in Chris' school, enrolling HIMSELF in Kawakami Academy when Margit is not around to guard her, using the rest of the Hunting Unit for other strictly family matters, summoning attack helicopter squadrons for martial arts tournaments, and many other ridiculous things for the sake of his daughter. Apparently the Bundeswehr has a very loose idea of what constitutes acceptable behavior from its commanders. Averted with his uniform (first picture, second from the left) and hat badge, which correctly denote that he is an officer in the Bundeswehr Army. His shoulder boards◊ also correctly indicate his rank as Lieutenant General/Generalleutnant (three gold diamonds and oak leaves).
• Boyfriend-Blocking Dad: He thinks no boy is worthy of his daughter, and makes it clear to Class 2-F that he will sic his troops on anyone who even thinks of dating Chris. Naturally, this puts him and Yamato at loggerheads during Chris's route.
• Doting Parent: While quite curt to the rest of the cast, he tends to lapse into a paternal version of the Cuteness Proximity around Chris, his darling little princess who can do no wrong (which is true for the most part. Now her dating boys on the other-hand...
• Drop-In Character: Being a high-ranking, active duty general stationed half-way around the world from Japan does surprisingly little to hinder Frank's ability to drop in and visit Kawakami whenever he feels like it.
• Fountain of Youth: Has a technique that makes him temporarily younger and boosts his strength.
• Friendly Enemy: In theory, Frank and Kagekiyo should oppose each other, but their kids get along and they don't really have any personal issues with each other. So they seem to be friends, odd as it may seem. However, Kagekiyo acknowledges that a high ranking general shouldn't publicly be best buds with someone like him and says he's going to put a little distance between them for Frank's sake.
• If You Ever Do Anything to Hurt Her...: While overprotective of his daughters, especially Chris, Frank is willing to let Yamato pursue Margit since he approves of him, but he still threatens to bring in the entire German military if he hurts her.
• Knight Templar Parent:
  • He actually tries to shoot Yamato once in Chris' route even though he likes him significantly more than most boys. The route's primary conflict is forcing him to accept the relationship.
  • However, while he does consider Margit to be like a second daughter, he's just enough less protective of her that he allows him to date her so long as he's a gentleman. He's not, but Margit likes it that way, so it's okay.
• New Transfer Student: Despite being at least middle-aged, and being an active duty military officer, he enrolls into 2-S at the beginning of Seiso's Arc because Margit is on assignment overseas. He runs into Hume within moments, who calls him sempai.
• What, Exactly, Is His Job?: Yamato eventually realizes he hasn’t the slightest idea what part of the military Chris’ dad is in, while viewers wonder how exactly he's allowed by the military to come to Japan whenever he wants. A-5 establishes that the Hounds are essentially a special forces unit. Whether all his troops are like that is unclear given that the Hounds are a very small unit of specialists.

Hisanobu Matsunaga

Tsubame's father, who frequently accompanies his daughter as her "agent". He's also a very skilled engineer.

Cookie 4 IS/Aiess

One of the new Cookie IS line's 108 robots (IS stands for Ideal Support). Upon activation, she gets into a battle royale with the other Cookies as a flaw in their programming makes them believe that only one Cookie has the right to exist, until being stopped by Yamato, the original Cookie, her creator, and the Kuki servants. To prevent Aiess from being dismantled by the Kuki Group, Yamato convinced the Kuki servants to let him take her in. Hence, she takes residence in Shimazu Dorm as a helper.

• Breakout Character: Surprisingly, she ends up being very popular before A5 even came out to the point The Other Wiki filled most of her information. And she's not the only one either.
• Bros Before Hoes: She has a thing for Yamato within about ten minutes of meeting him and just grows continually more interested in him, but has no intention of trying to steal him from her best friend. She is willing to try for a threesome though, which may or may not succeed depending on how Yamato responded to Cosima earlier.
• Cool Big Sis: Definitely her thing, though for once it's not the reason why someone falls for Yamato. As big sis characters go, she's the teasing sort.
• Does Not Like Men: Lisa scoffs at a terrorist for being a weak man, then corrects herself to say that he's weak because he's a man.
• The Gambling Addict: She likes making bets on races and the like. However, her intuition for it is terrible, meaning she tears through her pay quite quickly and frequently has to mooch off of Margit.
• Green-Eyed Monster: Took an instant dislike to Margit for being born wealthy and talented. They became best friends after a good fight, however.
• I Love You Because I Can't Control You: She's always been popular for her looks, but remained stubbornly single. When she tried seducing Yamato to test his faithfulness to Margit, he turned her down flat, much to her irritation. She then drugs him to test him further, but doesn't realize until after hitting him that the drug makes the target hallucinate, meaning he sees her as Margit. After the inevitable occurs, she starts crushing on him.
• The Knights Who Say "Squee!": As a true ninja fangirl, she walks right into Kawakami Academy to ask Azumi for her autograph.
• The Lancer: She's Margit's right-hand man in The Hounds.
• Last Episode, New Character: The Hounds appear in Margit's Afterstory in A-5.
• Love Triangle: Downplayed, for the most part. Apart from Margit herself, she's the only Hound who seriously loves Yamato regardless of the branch you're on. However, she doesn't want to try to steal her best friend's boyfriend. She does try for a threesome, though, and if Yamato agreed to teach Cosima about sex Margit will grudgingly agree because she sees how serious Lisa is about him.
• Ms. Fanservice: All of her outfits show off her very voluptuous figure.

• Improbable Age: Setting aside the game's assurance at one point that she's definitely an adult, she seems to be about twelve and a military veteran. At least Margit and the others are over twenty. Still unlikely, but not as bad as Cosima.
• Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Considers herself a great expert on men. Sigrun actually buys it since she has no experience either.
• Little Miss Badass: Don't let her small stature fool you. She can kick your ass with her fists.
• Parental Abandonment: Her parents were scared of her super strength and appetite and donated her to what amounts to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
• Pintsized Powerhouse: Looks all of about eight to ten, but can bend steel.
• The Pollyanna: She was abandoned by her parents, who feared her superhuman abilities. She doesn't mind that they clearly don't want anything to do with her and cheerfully sends them letters on a regular basis.
• Spell My Name With An S: When written out in the Roman alphabet her name is Cosima, but it's still pronounced Kojima, which is noted to be the same as Umeko's family name. So, read that however you please.
• Token Mini-Moe: She's the smallest member of the Hounds.
• Super-Strength: She grabs a gun and twists it in her bare hands.
• Third-Person Person: Cosima this, Cosima that.
• Totally 18: Margit notes that she's most definitely eighteen at one point when Yamato is discussing her like he would a child. Yeah, just like Monshiro is eighteen despite skipping grades all the time and being in her first year.
• Unskilled, but Strong: Cosima has enough strength to hurl someone across an entire pool with air pressure alone, but she's no martial artist. She makes Yamato duel her in a physical fight, fails to land a single attack, falls for a simple trap and gets knocked into the pool.
• "Well Done, Son" Guy: She writes to her parents all the time hoping they'll respond one day. They probably won't.

Siegrun Kohlschreiber

• All of the Other Reindeer: The Hounds were the first people to actually appreciate her. In her hometown, she was unpopular for her great height, poor intelligence and physical ability. However, the Hounds are extremely grateful when she heals the injury of an injured comrade, likely saving her foot in the process.
• The Berserker: Subverted. She's huge, has a face framed in shadows and appears almost bound up at first, but her very first line has her suddenly smile and give out bishoujo sparkles before beginning treatment on a newly rescued hostage who had been cowering away from her. She's actually very weak, has a height complex and is easily the nicest member of the Hounds.
• Cute Clumsy Girl: Alluded to. She has only basic self defense abilities because anything more is probably beyond her.
• The Ditz: She's said to be even dumber than Cosima.
• Friend to All Living Things: It seems that the people in her hometown didn't even realize she had a healing ability because she was so ostracized. Instead, she'd simply wander into the forest, find injured animals and cure them instead.
• Gentle Giant: She's quite a bit taller than any other female character in the story, but while everyone else shows off their combat ability in their introduction she just smiles and wraps up her target's injuries. Even though people find her scary, she's not even that strong and quite clumsy.
• Healing Hands: Sigrun's ability to heal injuries actually impresses Tesshin because they don't have a similar technique as part of their style. The closest they have, instantaneous recovery, only heals the user. It doesn't seem to be an ability she can teach others, however, as it's classified as a special ability like the Ryouzanpaku mercenaries possess.
• Huge Schoolgirl: She's about six feet tall and can look pretty intimidating sometimes, but she's quite gentle. While she's used to it, it still hurts when people are scared of her.
• I Am Not Pretty: She's only used to being treated like a freak by people outside the Hounds since she's so tall. However, her looks are of course amazing and she has a kind and cute personality. When Yamato not only calls her cute but actually convinces her that he means it she starts crushing on him a little, though not to the extent that Lisa seems to.
• Kimono Fanservice: She asks Yamato for advice on what kind of souvenir she should get herself while in Japan and he suggests a kimono. She thinks he's joking at first but is eventually convinced to try it. Everyone agrees she looks great in it.
• The Medic: Despite her size she's just the team medic. It's implied that her self defense capabilities are nearly nonexistent and she happens to be very clumsy.
• Nice Girl: She even heals people who attack her.
• Prone to Tears: She didn't really have any friends before joining the Hounds and tends to be quite emotional. She cried through about half of her meeting with Margit and the others.
• Rose-Haired Sweetie: Has pink hair, and if it wasn't clear enough already, a total sweetheart.
• Spell My Name With An S: The ingame introduction gives her name as Sigrun, but official merchandising uses Siegrun.
• Statuesque Stunner: Sigrun is taller than most of the men in the story, hovering around six feet tall. She's also gorgeous, though a lot of people find her scary.
• Yamato Nadeshiko: She looks and sound the part despite being German. She also wore a kimono which definitely reflects on her personality well.

Fine Bergmann

• Blind Without 'Em: Take away Fine's glasses and she can't tell if she's looking at Lisa or Sigrun.
• Kindhearted Cat Lover: In the harem ending, her fondness for cats is probably the first personal thing we learn about her. Before that, she was largely in the background focusing entirely on her work.
• Smart People Wear Glasses: Yamato takes one look at Fine's picture and guesses that she's the team smart girl. Glasses, strict expression, shortish hair? Yep.

Thelma Muller

Voiced by: Nozomi Yamamoto

Thelma is a girl in a massive suit of animated armor. The suit distorts her voice because reasons, causing her to seem masculine until she gets out. She's rather misandristic and has a special grudge against Yamato for dating Margit because Thelma is in love with her.

• Clingy Jealous Girl: Thelma doesn't care if everyone else has accepted Yamato. She wants him to get away from Margit immediately.
• David vs. Goliath: Challenges Yamato to a duel after he sees her naked. She's wearing a massive suit of armor capable of tanking rocket fire unscathed, he's a highschool student. He digs a pitfall the night before and has her agree to three rules. No guns, if you get knocked over you lose and no damaging the Friedrich estate. Knowing that he has a pitfall trap, she's confident she can chase him down and beat him while avoiding it. Except he charges straight at her, blinds her and then trips her with a rope, winning the fight in about three seconds.
• Does Not Like Men: While Lisa doesn't have any respect for men by default, Thelma simply hates them. What's more, she loves Margit, so she ends up REALLY hating Yamato.
• Hopeless Suitor: Even setting aside that Margit has no intention of entering a relationship and Yamato has to work hard to change her mind, she isn't a lesbian. No matter how much Thelma tries to delude herself it's not going to work out.
• Imagine Spot: She has a way of stopping to fangirl Margit and getting distracted at critical moments.
• Love at First Punch: Thelma can't stop thinking about Yamato after he beats her in a duel.
• Murder the Hypotenuse: Tries to squish Yamato a few times for getting in the way of her Margit worship. She's probably not really trying to kill him, but like they always say, it's the thought that counts.
• No-Sell: She jumps in front of the bullets going for Fine and then tanks a rocket to the face.
• Promoted to Love Interest: She gets her own mini-route in the packaged version of the A games.
• Spell My Name With An S: Given by the script, Thelma's last name is spelt as "Muller". But if you go by the real German spelling, it should be "Müller" or alternatively, "Mueller".
• Tsundere: If Lisa is to be believed, Thelma has a thing for Yamato and doesn't realize that's why she's fixated on him.
• 24-Hour Armor: Thelma almost always wears around her massive suit of armor. It's symbolic~

Anime characters

Takae Tachibana

Voiced by: Shiho Kawaragi (Japanese) and Genevieve Simmons (English)

A former member of Japan's Big Four, the group that represents the strongest fighters in Japan, Takae Tachibana was defeated and replaced by Yukie Mayuzumi. However, she turns up in the anime as the Big Bad. In S she has a mini route implied to take place after the anime where the Kuki corporation is keeping an eye on her. This section is only for that version of the character, who differs greatly from the version who eventually made it into the visual novel series.

• Adaptive Ability: If she sees an ability even once, she can easily formulate a counterattack.
• Alliterative Name: Both her first and last names begin with the 'ta' syllable.
• A Mother to Her Men: Even though she was wounded badly enough to lose both arms and legs, it becomes apparent that the pain from her wounds was far, far outweighed by the pain of being forced to order her mean to fight and die for nothing and then watch as they were killed, one by one.
• An Arm and a Leg: Kind of. While she didn't exactly lose them in battle, they were wounded badly enough that she would have died had they not been amputated and replaced.
• Anti-Villain: All Tachibana really wants is to create a powerful and dangerous threat to Japan that will terrify its citizens and make them appreciate the sacrifices their soldiers are forced to make for them. This stems from the fact that she was forced to watch her men die pointless deaths for the sake of the Prime Minister's ambitions, only to have their own people scorn them.
• Arm Cannon: She has a minigun installed in her left arm and a small missile launcher installed in her right.
• Arrow Catch: After taking out Wanko, Chris, and Mayucchi, she easily catches an arrow fired by Miyako and snaps it before jamming the broken piece into Momoyo's arm.
• Artificial Limbs: She has cybernetic arms and legs, although they are often covered by artificial skin.
• Ascended Extra: Her only mention in the original Majikoi was that Mayucchi beat her to become the newest of the Big Four. The anime actually gave her some characterization, which was ported back into the very end of Majikoi S, though this was only to introduce her character.
• Big Bad: She's the villain in the anime after coming back to Japan as a cyborg.
• Came Back Strong: She was saved by Ageha Kuki, who wished to save both her life and her combat experience, and she was outfitted with the latest in cybernetic technology. However, Ageha did not count on Tachibana's already vast physical strength and spiritual energy further enhancing the cybernetic parts to insane levels of performance.
• The Chessmaster: She's surprisingly intelligent and good at planning things.
• Combat Clairvoyance: She has a kind of ability that allows her to analyse an opponent's movements and accurately predict what their next moves will be. It's actually her subordinate Saki's ability, but it can be immediately sent to Takae so that she may use it.
• Cool Big Sis: After attempting to reject the Kazama family's hospitality, Yamato mentions that he always wished he had a big sister and she instantly perks up. Momoyo fumes in the background but Ageha keeps her from interfering. Eventually, she returns to the dorm as Yamato's surrogate big sister.
• Cyborg: Well, obviously her arms and legs, but she also has an ability (actually Saki's cybernetic enhancements that Tachibana has a connection to) that allows her to see an opponent's movements.
• The Determinator: Ageha tells Momoyo that this is what makes Tachibana so dangerous, as it manifests as spiritual energy and greatly improves her abilities. While Momoyo has greater brute strength, Tachibana has such overwhelming drive and determination that she can fight with far more skill and strength than she otherwise could.
• Even Evil Has Loved Ones/Villainous Friendship: She is in a genuinely loving relationship with Saki Mimori, her subordinate from her time in the army.
• Freudian Excuse: She and Saki were deployed against illegal immigrants only to find that their enemies were professional soldiers and operatives disguised as civilians, and when their platoon was cut off and in need of reinforcement, they were left out to dry by their own government. The two of them were badly wounded and all of their comrades were killed.
• Gatling Good: Her left arm can turn into a minigun.
• Heel–Face Turn: When she shows up in S, it's post anime rampage. She seems to have mellowed out considerably such that no one is worried when meeting her. Everyone mostly pities her for her truly horrific luck to the point where Yamato makes her live in his dorm so that Cap's good luck can cancel it out.
• Informed Ability: We're told she excels in the use of bayonet techniques, yet we never see her even touch a bayonet as she prefers to fight with firearms and her superhuman abilities. However, given how she trained Saki, who is more than proficient, and given her own badassery, we can assume that she is very good at using bayonets.
• Last Episode, New Character: After clearing every character, every joke route and every after story, you can finally see her for the first time in a Majikoi visual novel where she gets a brief Sequel Hook and moves into the Shimazu dorm, where her bad luck seems to be controlled.
• Lightning Bruiser: She's as powerful as Momoyo and extremely difficult to put down. And she's fast. Really fast. Even before she lost her place as one of the Four Devas, she was faster than any of the others, and with her new cybernetics and Combat Clairvoyance, she's only gotten faster.
• Made of Iron: She had four grenades, each with the power to shred anything within a three meter radius, strapped to her body and despite being in the middle of the explosion, she came out of it without a scratch.
• Majorly Awesome: She was a major in the army before she was Wounded in Action.
• More Dakka: Her Minigun spits out enough lead to completely drain Momoyo's regenerative ability.
• Noble Demon: She likes to think of herself as a Card-Carrying Villain, but for all her bluster, she doesn't have it in her to be truly ruthless or evil. Not so much in the visual novel.
• Pet the Dog: She received her wounds when she protected Saki from an RPG-7 grenade, and it's revealed that for all her talk of wanting to destroy Japan and kill everyone in it, she couldn't find it in herself to kill a single person. In the visual novel, she's at the receiving end of this by Yamato's hospitality to brighten her spirits.
• Red and Black and Evil All Over: Her cybernetics and this outfit in the anime, though she dresses more normally in S.
• Shock and Awe: She can use her cybernetics to electrocute people.
• Took a Level in Badass: She was once the weakest of the Four Devas, but after being badly wounded in the line of duty, she Came Back Strong. Mayucchi even tells the other girls that Tachibana's nothing like how she was during their fight.
• We Named the Monkey "Jack": After she loses her wallet rescuing a cat, she names it Saki after a subordinate. The cat's actual owner promptly shows up because Takae can't have nice things.
• You Have Failed Me/Outlived Your Usefulness: When Saki gets taken as a meatshield by Momoyo, Tachibana tells her it's time for her to die and opens fire. However, it's subverted when Momoyo tosses Saki aside and Tachibana immediately grabs her and flees instead of pressing the advantage, and their dialogue as they fly away makes it clear that she was just bluffing.

• Adrenaline Time: Her entire fight in episode 10 is shot in this to reflect her ability to see every detail of an enemy's movements.
• Awesome by Analysis: Her left eye gives her the ability to analyze everything, including people's movements and skills.
• Bayonet Ya: She is quite skilled when it comes to using a rifle with a bayonet equipped.
• Combat Clairvoyance: As the source of Tachibana's prescience, she has a powerful ability to analyst an opponent's movements and predict their next move with perfect accuracy. There are literally only two ways to beat it: 1) use a move that she is unfamiliar with, and that only works once. 2) simply move so fast that even with her "foresight," she can't react in time, but only the ridiculously fast, like Momoyo and Tachibana, can pull that off.
• The Dragon: To Tachibana.
• Electronic Eye: It can analyze technology and abilities, and it can hack into computer systems. Unlike her normal eye, it's green.

• Fragile Speedster: She's fast and her Combat Clairvoyance allows her to avoid almost all incoming attacks, but she really can't take hits from people like Momoyo.
• Freudian Excuse: She and Tachibana were deployed against illegal immigrants only to find that their enemies were professional soldiers and operatives disguised as civilians, and when their platoon needed reinforcements, they were left out to dry by their own government. All of their comrades were killed and the two of them were badly wounded.
• Gun Fu: Kinda. For the first half of her fight, she was just using an empty rifle with a bayonet attached, but she would do awesome stuff like use an empty magazine to block a sword thrust or use one of Wanko's spear strikes to push back the charging handle of her rifle so that she could start shooting again.
• Hollywood Hacking: She can hack anything through her cybernetic eye or through physical contact.
• Improbable Aiming Skills: She shot one of Miyako's arrows right down the middle, as well as her bow string with the same bullet.
• Improbable Weapon User: Her weapon of choice is a bayoneted rifle. Not too weird, although an actual spear would be more practical. Her second weapon is a pistol with a blade coming out of the bottom of the grip, which she uses for both shooting and for close combat. Much more weird.
• Lady of War: She is extremely graceful when she fights. Her ability to see any and all attacks coming and easily avoid them probably helps with this.
• Lipstick Lesbian: Compared to Tachibana, at least.
• Not-So-Harmless Villain: Initially she was sort of made out to be the brains behind Tachibana with very little brawn of her own. In other words, great as support but useless in an actual fight. Yamato, Wanko, Myako, and Mayucchi took her all on, forgetting the the whole reason Tachibana had her Combat Clairvoyance in the first place was because she was borrowing it from Saki, and none of then saw her fighting skills coming.

Takae Tachibana

Voiced by: Shiho Kawaragi

A version of Takae Tachibana written up for the visual novel series. Apart from the most basic of backstory similarities and visual design, they have little in common. This version of Takae is incredibly unlucky to the point where she had to develop superspeed to avoid bird poop and lightning. After going on a brief rampage, she was stopped by Hume Hellsing and put under Kuki observation. After a long series of losses, she's retired from martial arts.

• The Ace: When she isn't too depressed, she's good at an awful lot of things. She gained superspeed by dodging bird poop and lightning, is a good singer if she doesn't break the karaoke machine, can match Yamato at shogi and a lot of other rather strange skills. All this is setting aside that she's one of the strongest people in the world.
• Alliterative Name: Both her first and last names begin with the 'ta' syllable.
• Bad Liar: She has a habit of seemingly preparing a lie ahead of time and then failing to think up even a basic cover story. Like trying to get rid of someone by saying she has things to do, but when asked what the best she can come up with is saying looking at the river after a flustered pause.
• Born Unlucky: Her luck is awful. It's played for laughs up until A-5, but it actually really gets to her. What's worse is that it's a negative spiral: Facing the world with depression makes her luck worse and leaves her less able to avoid obvious hazards whereas if she's in a good mood she can see them coming and do something about them. Looking out for manholes, avoid camping in areas easily affected by the weather and so forth. Having to constantly dodge bird poop and lightning all her life is why she's so fast.
• Canon Immigrant: Takae was already mentioned in Majikoi, but went uncharacterized and unseen. She makes her first appearance at the very, very end of Majikoi S. However, the scenario she's in serves as the anime series' continuation. The version of her that appears throughout the A fandisks are a different version of the character.
• The Chessmaster: She's surprisingly intelligent and good at planning things.
• Cool Big Sis: Late in her route she realizes that she also fits into the big sister mold and ends up finding Yamato's more immature traits pretty cute.
• Cosmic Plaything: Takae has to hide inside when it storms or lightning will chase her. She also goes into the ocean, passes out from hunger and gets caught by fishermen. Frequently enough to be used to it. She rejects Gakuto trying to pick her up not because she sees through his obvious ulterior motives, but because if she goes to his house she’s pretty sure a meteorite will hit it.
• Does Not Like Spam: After getting poisoned by what should have been a delicious matsutake mushroom, she stops eating mushrooms altogether.
• Doom Magnet: She's incredibly unlucky herself, but her bad luck spreads to the people near her, so she tries her best to avoid people. There are a few safe spots for her and others, but she doesn't really want to rely on them. For example, Kawakami Temple is filled with strong people who aren't really affected by her bad luck while Cap's room and the dorm in general seem to cancel it out.
• Dude, She's Like in a Coma: Yamato gets bitten by a poisonous snake and while Takae sucks the poison out pretty quickly, he's knocked out in the meantime. So she continues a little past what could really be called emergency medical service.
• Earn Your Happy Ending: Oh, definitely in her route.
• Flash Step: Takae functionally teleports around the countryside. When she takes Yamato with her, all he can see are random brief glimpses and suddenly before he's aware they're at their destination.
• Fragile Speedster: Her speed is depicted in the same way as Momoyo or Hume's, meaning you can't actually see her move if she doesn't want you to and she can pseudo teleport around the country. However, one good counter from Mayucchi would be fatal. Possibly literally. Takae has to blitz her so quickly that not even Mayucchi can keep up, a feat that even Haou could not accomplish.
• Friends with Benefits: Proposed by Takae at one point when she realizes Yamato is attracted to her and wants to repay him somehow. It's not the kind of relationship he wants, though.
• Had to Be Sharp: Takae's speed is her one truly exceptional ability. Why? Because if you can't move fast, you can't dodge bird poop, cars and lightning.
• Has a Type: When Yamato asks if Takae rejected his confession because he's younger she says she actually prefers younger guys and admits that by looks, he's also her type.
• The Hermit: Invoked but averted. She claims she wants to go live out in nature away from everyone else, but A. she can't, not safely anyway and B. she doesn't actually dislike interacting with people or anything, she just wants to keep them safe from her bad luck.
• Heroic BSoD: Takae starts her route very depressed via a combination of losing to Momoyo and Mayucchi and just because her luck is terrible. A lot of the story is focused on breaking her out of it, concluding with defeating Mayucchi in a rematch.
• Heroic Rematch: After Yamato confesses, she turns him down for reasons it takes her awhile to be able to state clearly. What it boils down to is that her self esteem is too low and that she needs to regain her confidence by having a rematch with Mayucchi and Momoyo, though the latter will take years of preparation even though Takae knows her weak points.
• Heroic RRoD: After her successful rematch with Mayucchi she's in quite a bit of pain even though she took no attacks because her maximum speed blitz is too hard on even her trained body.
• Heroic Self-Deprecation: Though she wants to repay Momoyo and Wanko's kindness for allowing her to stay at the temple while she recovers from being poisoned, she declines to help them with their studies because she doesn't consider herself intelligent enough to be of any use. However, she's actually quite a bit smarter than she normally appears, being able to match Yamato in shogi and noticing many of Momoyo and Mayucchi's weaknesses and knowing how to exploit them.
• Hidden Depths: She's fond of games like shogi or go because they don't have an element of luck to them, allowing her to match Yamato quite well despite him being above everyone else in the story apart from Benkei, which is only implied. She's also a good singer so long as she doesn't end up somehow breaking the karaoke machine before starting. Plus, if it wasn't for her bad luck, she's spend a lot of her time doing things like rescuing people from burning buildings.
• I Am Not Pretty: She doesn't take Yamato seriously when he compliments her. Even after they've been dating for a year she still doesn't really believe that she's attractive. This may stem from her not actually being popular when she was Yamato's age as her bad luck left her rather isolated.
• Iconic Outfit: She always seems to end up wearing Wanko's old yellow jumper, even though we've seen at least three different versions of her. Sometimes she buys it secondhand, sometimes Wanko gives it to her since it's too big for her and sometimes she just magically has it with no explanation.
• Improvised Clothes: In her A5 route, she wears a dress made out of hay
• Insecure Love Interest: Turns Yamato down when he confesses because while she definitely likes him she doesn't feel it would be right. When he asks if it's because of her bad luck, she actually says not really. No point in worrying about that at this point. Rather, she's been on a long losing streak at life and needs to get her life back on track before she can enter a real relationship.
• Mundane Utility: While Momoyo tends to take vehicles long distances, Takae does the obvious and simply runs. She also uses superspeed to clean hallways and sort envelopes.
• Naked First Impression: In A-5 Yamato's first meeting with Takae comes when he comes across her near the river after all her clothes have been washed away and she's crouched down trying to cover herself as best she can with some reeds wrapped around her. Interestingly enough, while she wants him to go away, embarrassment over lack of clothing is not the reason: She doesn't want her bad luck to spread to him.
• Not Hyperbole: Remember when Takae said she didn't want to enter the dorm because she figured it would get hit by a meteorite if she did? A meteor actually comes for Kawakami Temple while she's sick there.
• Odd Friendship: Takae grows interested in Sheila when she realizes that Sheila has an ability that clearly isolated her when she was younger like Takae's misfortune did, but hasn't let it control her life or affect how she interacts with others. She also makes friends with Torako, though when she gets an amulet from her in the mail it turns out she never really learned her name.
• Power Incontinence: In theory, she has perfect control over herself when going even at top speed. In practice, her bad luck often gets in the way of actually being able to do anything useful, causes unpleasant accidents at high speeds or somehow redirects her somewhere unhelpful. As such, while she would like to use her abilities to help other people, she had to give up on it.
• Promoted to Love Interest: In the fifth release of A she gets her own route.
• Retired Badass: Takae gave up on martial arts after losing to first Momoyo and then Mayucchi. She's still very good, but she doesn't train anymore. She doesn't really do much of anything anymore. At the end, she realizes she needs to come out of retirement if she wants to get her life back on track. After briefly training to get back in shape, she actually beats Mayucchi in a rematch.
• Robinsonade: The first half of her route involves her being stranded on a island of a foreign country with Yamato, Torako, and Sheila.
• Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: She actually says "fidget fidget" when she's waiting to see if Capt's room can really cancel out her luck.
• Skilled, but Naive: She's pretty smart and very quick on her feet, but she's also kind of gullible and bad at lying.
• Speed Echoes: She's fast enough to make afterimages in battle without needing anything like ninja techniques.
• The Stoic: She's rather quiet and unemotional during her brief appearance in the A-3 fandisc.
• Suck Out the Poison: Yamato gets bitten by a snake that randomly decides to attack Takae while she's meditating. She tries to suck out the poison, but as soon as that's done she notices how turned on he is. She gets... distracted... after that.
• Super Gullible: Instantly believes Yamato when he jokes that rent for Cap's room is 140,000 yen. He muses afterward that it's probably not the fairest joke to make for someone who always has things like that happen for real but hopes she can learn to recognize that kind of joke in the future.
• Super-Speed: She might be the fastest character in the series. If not, it's likely only the likes of Hume are actually faster.
• Weak, but Skilled: Her actual physical power is never indicated to be particularly special, but she's so quick that most people simply can't keep up. While playing to her strengths allows her to oneshot Mayucchi by blitzing her at top speed she acknowledges that she really has no chance against Momoyo even if she knows all her weaknesses and may have the edge in speed because she simply isn't strong enough to keep up. She does think she might be able to do it in a few years, however.
• When She Smiles: She's always pretty gloomy and has small, reserved smiles at best. When she finally gives a big, happy smile, Yamato falls in love with her for real after being unsure for quite some time up to this.
• The Woobie: In-Universe! Yamato stumbles across her being unfortunate as always and tries to get close to her because he feels terrible for her. This is pretty unusual for Yamato, who has noted in the past that the only people he'll really get concerned over are the Kazama family.
• Worf Had the Flu: Momoyo asks her if she lost her fights to Momoyo and Mayucchi because of her horrible luck. She says it doesn't matter.
• Yank the Dog's Chain: When Takae is trying to avoid starving, Shishin offers to buy her dinner in exchange for a duel afterward. Shishin then gets called on business, eats everything on the table and says they’ll have a fight next time they meet up.

Tadashi Nabeshima

The principal of Tenjin Academy, Kawakami Academy's rival institution in the West. Also a former student of Tesshin Kawakami.

• Talking Is a Free Action: A counter ticks down next to his head in the middle of a fight. He gives out several lines in under half a second.

The Prime Minister

Voiced by: Norio Wakamoto (Japanese) and Illich Guardiola (English)

The Prime Minister of Japan. He is often seen around the Kawakami Temple or the Tama river, but most people assume that he's just someone who looks similar to him, a mistake that he encourages. He's a competent former student of the Kawakami Temple and a genuinely good guy.

• Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": His name isn't given. He's just called the Prime Minister.
• Friendly Sniper: When he does appear, he gives advice to various main characters when they are feeling troubled. Still, in Yukie's route, he racks up the highest body count for his King of Soldiers team due to Yamato going for a safe sniping-based strategy despite the presence of close-range fighters Mayucchi and Kokoro.
• No Celebrities Were Harmed: Looks like his voice actor.
• Sniper Duel: Gets into one in Yukie's route. Takes out an enemy sniper during the King of Soldiers competition, not flinching even when the other sniper's bullet grazed his cheek.

Bunta Musashi

Voiced by: Noriaki Sugiyama

A relative of Kosugi who briefly serves as an antagonist in Benkei route as he pursues grabbing up land around the town on behalf of his family.

• Arc Villain: Bunta briefly gets into conflict with the bookstore owner and by association Benkei and Yamato, which helps nudge them closer together when Benkei realizes she can't be passive with all the girls around Yamato.
• Catchphrase: Frequently mentions "first class" and "economy class" to assert his superiority.
• Cheaters Never Prosper: Bunta cheats via the use of a camera to look at the cards Yamato is holding, so Yamato just lets him continue cheating but skewing the information he's getting as a result. So perhaps "Cheaters never prosper if they go up against someone better at it" would be more accurate.
• Childhood Friends: With Saki. She really likes to tease him about being a crybaby back in the day.
• Heel Realization: After losing and having his loss explained to him, Bunta realizes on some level that it's really not that big of a deal and he needs to relax and stop being a dick. The next time he sees Yamato, he simply asks him not to cause trouble for the bartender where Benkei and Yamato are working part time.
• Humble Pie: Yamato calmly explaining how Bunta’s cheating screwed him over seems to have a large impact on him. Being humiliated in front of a huge crowd was enough, but having it explained to him how easily he was manipulated really made it sink in.
• Malicious Misnaming: Courting death via Saki, Bunta keeps calling Yamato Naoto. He even blurts out that he remembers Yamato's name just fine and is doing it to get under his skin!
• Older Than They Look: He looks maybe thirty, but is the same age as Yamato's mom, who has to be at least in her late 30s.
• Smug Snake: Bunta looks calm and in control, but as soon as his cheating is discovered Yamato completely turns the match around while he fumbles around trying to use a strategy that simply doesn't work anymore, unable to comprehend that he was caught even after three mistakes in a row.
• Strong Family Resemblance: The Musashi family must all be Smug Snakes.
• Villainous Breakdown: His smug attitude crumbles when Yamato catches onto his cheating and starts outwitting him in return. Worse yet was that Yamato actually explained how dumb he was to not catch on when it had failed not once, not twice but three times.

Tsugaru Uminori

A scientist working for the Kuki Group, and the creator of Cookie robots. Right before the launch of Cookie IS line, he alters their programming to give the robots more sense of self, leading to the conflict among themselves to decide which Cookie has the right to exist.

• The Atoner: Constantly persuades his superiors to let him take all the blame for the Cookie IS incident and works his hardest to retrieve the robots without inflicting unnecessary harm.
• Fatherly Scientist: His defining trait. He wants the Cookies to be accepted and loved by humans. He treats the Cookies like his own children, and is constantly concerned about their well-being. He altered the Cookie IS' programming with the intention of helping the robots defend themselves against those who want to seize them for their nefarious schemes. He works his hardest for the Cookie IS not to be dismantled upon retrieval and to be given a second chance. Even the rampaging 108 IS is no exception.
• Forgotten First Meeting: Used to visit Yamato and give him toys when the latter was very young. He even comments that he would be surprised if Yamato recognized him.
• Only Friend: To Kagekiyo, Yamato's father. It is stated that he's currently the only one Kagekiyo can fully trust.
• Unwitting Instigator of Doom: His altering of the Cookie IS' programming led to a "civil war" among them, causing unrest and property damage all around the world. Fortunately, there were no human casualties since the Cookie IS followed their "no harming humans" directive to the letter while fighting one another.

Cookie 108 IS

Voiced by: Shigeru Chiba

The last of 108 Cookie IS robots developed by Kuki Group, and the antagonist of Cookie 4 IS route. His ability is absorbing other Cookie IS robots to gain their power and abilities.

• Brainwashed and Crazy: Turns out the cause of his rampage is a suspicious device planted on him, without his creator's knowledge.
• Cannibalism Superpower: His signature ability.
• Expy: He's not unlike Cell from Dragon Ball Z, being a green artificial being who gains power by absorbing others.
• Humongous Mecha: After absorbing the giant Cookie 70 IS, his size grows multifold. He's even called a Super Robot in-universe.
• Wave-Motion Gun: His favorite form of attack.

Sakura Kugenuma

A girl Shakadou befriends in Shakadou-san no Jun'ai road who helps him into becoming a better person.

• Beware the Nice Ones: No, really. When she spends time with Shakadou, she basically calms him down or tells him to behave properly (like the time he broke concrete with his bare hands, she got on to him). It got to the point she told her kidnapper he should not be talking while treating his wounds.
• Brutally Honest: She doesn't like being this, but Shakadou tells her otherwise.
• Bunny-Ears Lawyer: This girl, despite her Beware the Nice Ones tendencies, has a weird habit of naming her flowers unusual names. Such as Siberian Control Type 2. Shakadou wonders what the hell happened to Type 1.
• Early-Bird Cameo: Not her, but her prefecture. Shounan is the main setting of another Minato visual novel called Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road. Hell, it's even advertised when you close the game and it's one of the random messages.
• Innocent Flower Girl: How she's introduced. However she does name a hibiscus flower "High Bloody".
• Leitmotif: Hers can be heard on her first appearance and her "date" with Shakadou, which is shared with Yoshitsune.
• Likes Older Men: Shakadou, much to his legitimate concern.
• May–December Romance: Even Shakadou is concerned by this. The girl, at most, looks to be 17 or 18 while Shakadou is few years her senior. She also seems to consider his age to be a "nice middle". Yes, she actually said that.
• The Medic: After Shakadou and Miyoshi fight, with the latter losing, she treats their wounds.
• Morality Pet: To Shakadou of all people and Oomura, her cousin. Shakadou even lampshades it.
• Nice Girl: Her MO. This is the reason why she's popular with men and boys due to giving them helpful advice, yet she's single and never dated anyone due to her motherly aura. In fact, she's the reason why Shakadou has a Character Development and Took a Level in Kindness. To step it up a notch, she does not care about Shakadou's dark past, telling him he's fine the way he is.
• No Accounting for Taste: Shakadou lampshades the hell out of this. Twice. First when he considers calling himself her "good-natured distant uncle" to avoid being seen as her boyfriend and when she suggests going out with her again. He then mentioned being a middle-aged man. Her response? "A nice middle". Keep in mind that he's at least 45 while she's at least 17 or 18.
• Odd Couple: A young elegant teenager (with some air-headed moments) who loves her flowers with a gruff forty-something adult with a Face of a Thug who believes Might Makes Right (with a Character Development or two, and Defrosting Ice King). Hell, Oomura of all people is a Shipper on Deck for them.
• One of the Boys: She grew up with men most of her life. Even her cooking reflects this.
• Ship Tease: She's the instigator, believe it or not. It's been mentioned thrice about Shakadou being years older than her, but she appears to have ignore this fact willingly. Shakadou himself finds this odd, despite that he's a middle-aged man and she's practically a teenager and young enough to be his daughter. Yet, both Japanese and Western fans seem to support the relationship.
• Team Mom: Sakura mentions while boys look up to her, they always view her as a mother figure. Shakadou even notices she's mature for her age.
• Trademark Favorite Food: A bowl of shirasu. When Shakadou tells her there are things as good as shirasu, she took offense and shook him. When he takes her to Umeya's it apparently switched to Mabo curry.
• You Are Better Than You Think You Are: One interpretation on why she grew interest in Shakadou is this trope. Shakadou has been the subject of rejection in his natural talent, and he does have a criminal record after all. But she looks past this because she saw some good in him, no matter how small it is. Shakadou is even surprised by this.
