- Allegorical Character: Is very clearly meant to represent Bloom's "inner dragon".Possibly literally.
- Ridiculously Cute Critter: Far cuter than any other inhabitant of the Isles.
- Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: Well, he's definitely magical, but there is some evidence that he is actually a Tulpa emboding Bloom's dragon traits as a Literal Split Personality: Namely the mere fact he can talk, being called "Buddy", appeared after Boom's conversation with Daphne, mentioning that he's "lost" his parents (though that could be him being a Trickster Mentor to Bloom since they never appear) and dissapearing from the narrative after the episode (almost like reintegrating with Bloom). The Rule of Symbolism involved doesn't hurt this interpretation. This is all but stated in the end.
- Mentor Archetype: For Bloom in The Island of Dragons episode.
- Our Dragons Are Different: He's a young child, can talk and may or may not be Bloom's Literal Split Personality as either a Familiar or a Tulpa.
